Playoff R3G1 Toronto Raptors vs Milwaukee Bucks

Jeremy Lin shared his prayer request email to his supporters. On the Raptors win, he shared that God wants themto continue playing so they are excited to go into the Eastern Conference Finals and give it all we have.

JLin’s prayer request #46.

DID YOU GUYS SEE GAME 7?!??

I’m so hyped to write this prayer letter right now! Maybe it’s an oversight on my part but I just feel like the way we won and the way Kawhi’s buzzer beater went in…just feels like God guided the ball in or something haha. What I do know is that God wants us to continue playing so we’re excited to go into the Eastern Conference Finals and give it all we have.

Before I jump into the prayer requests, I just want to share something that’s been on my heart. I’m legit (like really legit) so grateful that people are joining me on this prayer journey. Nowadays, I feel my mind immediately drifting towards our 3 prayer requests through the day. It seems almost instinctual. The one thing I’ve been reminded of recently is that prayer is more for us than for God. God’s all-powerful and doesn’t “need” our prayers, but He really appreciates when we pray. Often times after I pray, I feel like I’ve done God and others a favor by praying, but in reality, prayer probably affects us the most because it acknowledges that He is God and we are not, it brings necessary humble surrender into our lives and it simply brings intimacy in our relationship with God. For real that’s a trip if you really think about it — we can communicate with the creator of this universe whenever we want! At the end of the day, God wants loving relationship and prayer fosters that! Reminding myself that prayer is for me and not for God has given me a different perspective.

Perhaps [anonymous person] said it best when they sent in this response to the prayer letter: “I don’t have a specific answer to my prayers, but I have noticed God answering me in a different way I expected; He’s promoting change in me. And maybe that’s the greater miracle in praying, God might not only shift our circumstances, but also shift ourselves, our perspective, and our heart.” Very well-said. Hope that encourages you and I to continue being faithful in prayer. Also, I’m attaching a few other responses at the bottom of this email so we can see how God is working in the lives of those on this prayer email chain.

We are halfway through the playoffs, which means we’re halfway through this prayer journey of praying daily for 3 requests. Again, if you forget to pray on any day, it’s ok. The beauty is we can always start up again anytime. Reminder for our 3 prayer requests:

1. That a family member or friend would come to know Jesus or have breakthrough in their spiritual life.

2. That God would use the Raptors and our playoff run powerfully to build His kingdom.

3. That there would be spiritual revival in the city of Toronto, where people are coming to Jesus, social outcasts are being loved, humility is being lived out, grace is being shown and the Holy Spirit performing miracles.

Thanks again for all your support and prayers! It’s been fun for me to root for my teammates, but I’ve also been camped out in the gym working out and staying ready. See you guys in the conference finals with my freshhh new haircut lol. Check out some other prayer responses below. Unfortunately, we can’t post every single one but we’re reading them and will keep posting different ones as they come in!
