Playoff Round 1 Game 3 CHA @ MIA Game Thread

Down 0-2, this is a must-win game for the Hornets if they want to have any chance to win to come back in the series.

  • Will Clifford start Lin or Kaminsky in place of Batum? Despite the concern of the small lineup unable to defend a bigger Wade, Lin has proven to be a more reliable starter (17.5pts/4.8asts with 46% 3FGM in 13 games) than Kaminsky throughout the season (11.3pts/5.3reb with 36.3% 3FGM in 3 games)
  • Will the presence of Papa Lin, Baby Lin and his family help Jeremy to play all out in Charlotte?
  • What would Clifford to curb Kemba’s ISO-ball so the Hornets can play a teamball with excellent ball movement, smarter shot selection, PnR defense as Isiah Thomas said?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray JLin can solve the trapping defense of Miami Heat and helps the Hornets to play teamball to pull a home game.

Flagrant or Suspension for Isaih Thomas???
    https://twitter.com/NBATV/status/723733977408765952

  • wow, seems so minor compared to the hits on Lin.

  • Win

A flagrant 1 for sure. As that was intentional.

  • CJSHYY

That’s exactly what I thought but maybe after Lin’s video. NBA now more careful on Flagrant foul….

  • donsmacau

    Isaiah Thomas is foolish
Attackers of JLIN are much more sneaky and masked their attacks while JLIN always had the ball for a “plausible excuse”

There is no excuse for what IT did to Schroeder.

  • JoeTeam

Let’s hope with Batum out, JLin will be given the ball that Batum normally has, and KW will support a balanced game when JLIn has the rock. Also, that MW starts to hit those that he has been reliable all season on. Whiteside, they need a team solution for his D and O. I hope coaching sorted something out. Go Team CHA!

  • HVJoy

NBA hangtime blog on Game 3:

“The Heat have pounded the Hornets with their size advantage in the first two games, so Clifford has to decide whether he wants to go big with Batum’s replacement and insert rookie 7-footer Frank Kaminsky into the starting lineup. Or he can go with a smaller and potentially more explosive lineup and go with sixth man Jeremy Lin alongside Walker in the first five.”

    http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2016/04/23/hornets-expecting-big-boost-at-home/?ls=iref:nbahpts

I like Sekou Smith’s use of “explosive” and “sixth man” in references to Jeremy.

  • donsmacau

Clifford’s playoff performance breeds absolutely NO Confidence. His rotations have been awful.

    – Daniels zero minutes
    – Lamb zero minutes
    – Hawes a handful minutes

Desperately hope that Marv’s shot returns at home but if not then his minutes must be open
    – Hansbrough for his toughness and boards
If Kaminsky plays like Game 1 then his minutes must be open too

  • JoeTeam

Yeah well to carve out time to watch, I guess I gotta hope for the best. Something has to be different, else it’s the definition of insanity (was that Einstein who said that?) – do something different. Ha ha, maybe it’s me, maybe I should not carve out time to watch. We’ll know how is insane after today, maybe both me and CHA coaching. Or maybe we’ll all be brilliant.

  • JoeTeam

PS – Kam has been a bust this playoffs. Ha, even all season. Weird, he’s so big and did so well in college. Maybe he just needs 2 more years. ADavis wasn’t so impressive his first year, nor was Wiggins. This tanking for drafts thing … I lean toward picking up great FA too, as a combo build strategy. Lots of teams have options this summer given the salary cap increase. JLin is going into this summer really well positioned for all the moves to come.

  • HVJoy

Hope the “home court magic” would work in favor of the team in G3.

Lin gets touches, Walker shares the ball and Williams breaks out of shooting slump.

I will be glued to the TV screen this afternoon. Go Lin!

    Jeremy’s Prayer Requests 17

    Hey guys,

Just want to send out a quick prayer request! As you guys know we are down 0-2 to the Heat and want to ask you guys to lift our team up in prayer — that I would play with a completely surrendered heart to God. The higher the stakes, the more I tend to try to hold on/stress/worry rather than trust God that no matter what happens He is in control and has a perfect plan.

Also please pray for Nic to have a quick recovery and for our team to play tremendous team basketball that will allow us to win the series. I don’t doubt the power of God as He is capable of any type of miracle!!

    Thanks for your prayers!

  • JoeTeam

Ok, I guess I’ll glue too.

  • donsmacau

JLIN knows the solution “play tremendous team basketball”

Unfortunately, Clifford, Kemba and Al must accept that as the solution as well.

  • HVJoy

    LOL

  • JoeTeam

hi bb – great to see you post. happy playoffs. If you get down, watch GSW spank HOU. LAC next and the only guy I like there is Blake for some reason (maybe because he was collegial to JLin during 2012 ASG where Lin was in the skills competition). JCraw – Honestly, I had him on fantasy and he wasn’t that consistent so I don’t get his 6MOY.

  • DrewBear2

It was minor, not even worth a foul call much less a FF1 and suspension is ridiculous. Watch that a few times and you’ll see Schroder’s exaggerated reaction a full second after Thomas’ arm brushed his face. There’s no doubt Thomas did that intentionally, but it was to annoy rather than to injure. This doesn’t deserve to be compared to the flagrant fouls on Jeremy.

  • JoeTeam

ppl don’t accept, they must envision. The best leaders help others see it as their own, and the most manipulative people of course do that for their own ends that hurt others. I see JLin as infecting others with a vision for what they can do to win. e.g. feeding Cody or Asik. See how Asik’s career has faded?

  • Alain Gervais

    petulance at its best

  • DrewBear2

Thanks for sharing this. How do you sign up to be on the prayer list?

  • heart

Another inconsistency by the NBA ruling on FF. Sullinger called for FF1 for hit on Dennis Schroeder’s head. What about hits on Lin’s head from Kobe, Melo, Harden, others???
    https://twitter.com/NBAOfficial/status/723691001714335744

  • i’m glad people have already tweeted the inconsistency w/lin’s fouls in reply to this tweet.

  • BobbyH

Just look at the flagrant foul videos. There are plenty in there, the latter part.

  • JoeTeam

yep, it convinced a lot of people. I personally agree with the video, but initially I disagreed with the Kobe one because I though Kobe was going hard at the ball. He does have enough experience to know the head would be there sometime in the play, so anyway, it’s weeks later and I’m good with how it’s all coming to together in zeitgeist.

  • LinMad

that was definitely a flagrant but since this was in Q3, they should have received the same treatment as Jeremy Lin and say “Oh, we reviewed it and that’s no flagrant”

  • Sophie Paris

    They’ll win game 3 and 4 let’s be positive 😉

  • LinMad

“play tremendous team basketball” – JLin
“our (ISO) offense plan is good” – Clifford

  • John Focker

Sullinger not superstar, so no need to brown-nose.

  • DaBoss

Although IT will claim it was “accidental”. But no matter – a hit to the head is a hit to the head.

  • LinMad

any word on Lin starting today?

  • TTNN

I wouldn’t anticipate any announcement till the last min. No need to tell Heat the line up.

  • LinMad

    true

  • grover chang

Game easy to predict. If Lin starts then Hornets win.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

quite a dilemma for clifford.. does he risk losing with Tank or does he risk winning with Lin? lol

  • sws94

I will be so thrilled if Lin beats the Miami defense. The tougher team for Lin are athletic, bigger teams that have length to pick passes off in the lane and also use trapping methods to contain PGs, penetrators, guys like Lin (Miami, OKC, Hawks). They also have the added bonus of Whiteside, best shot blocker in the league. If Lin can knock down say 20 or more and get a few assists and rebounds, then he’s really arrived in terms of showing that no defense can stop him. He’s showing signs he can penetrate them now and get his points, if much of them at the line. And that’s very, very encouraging. If Lin breaks through tonight, great. That may mean they game plan to absolutely stop him the next game but it will show that Lin is one of the most dangerous players any squad can have because he requires special game-planning for and strategies to contain.

    Go Jeremy!

  • sws94

Indiana game, Lawson looks good, Lowry not so good. DeRozan having a tough game. Indiana playing well again.

  • sws94

TNT. Will be interesting to see what that crew says if Lin has a big game.

  • sws94

Vogel: Find teammates. Assisted shots have a higher percentage than create by yourself shots.

    Agree with coach.

  • donsmacau

I will be so thrilled if Clifford and Kemba allow JLIN to be the playmaker so he can lead this team to a win. Miami’s defense hasn’t shown it can stop JLIN, he penetrates Miami’s athletic defenders at will and gets to the rim either scoring or putting them in foul trouble. JLIN hasn’t had any issues with Whiteside past games.
The only individuals who can stop JLIN are Coach Clifford with his orders to let Iso-Kemba take 25+ shots and habitually feed Big Alfense.

Please get out of his way Clifford, Kemba and Al!

  • sws94

Read on a board it’s Kemba, Lee, Marvin, Frank, Al to start. Not confirmed yet.

  • CJSHYY

    Al?

  • CJSHYY
  • occupatio

i really hate isaiah thomas. what a punk.

  • donsmacau

There are positives to a lineup of JLIN, Cody, Lamb, Daniels, Hawes but please dear god keep Kemba off of JLIN’s bench rotation and put CLee there or anyone else.

Kemba at 42 minutes guarantees another loss.

  • CJSHYY

I think Kemba will be on 40+ min… just hope he can play team ball this time. No more award, right?

  • donsmacau

    Snowballs chance as they say…

… but that means there IS a chance, lol

  • Alain Gervais

    This is another loss

  • grover chang

    Ditto. Loss!

  • CJSHYY

I think Al moves to starting lineup it’s good for Lin bc if Al & Kemba want to ISO game then better let them in the same group. Lin can lead 2nd unit as PG w fast break.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin will have to play a lot so it doesn’t matter. Also Im assuming Lin and frank on the bench. Maybe some Lamb action lol. Give him some minutes guarding Bigger players. I think this was the right choice. Still id rather something more drastic. Forcing the heat to either go small as well. Cliff plays it safe usually

  • donsmacau

Yes that is a significant improvement for JLIN’s chances to reconstitute a potent Benchforce, because no doubt Big Al will be too tired to play with the bench.

However the benefits CAN and are LIKELY to be negated by Kemba playing too many minutes thus taking over playmaking for Bench.

  • donsmacau

    Frank and Al both start.

  • grover chang

If Cliff mindset to play it safe then it’s 48 minutes of kemba. He will dig deeper into his recent game plan. So likely still loss.

  • Ben Johnson

    Buh bye Hornets

  • Win

I said it before. Somehow Steve will start Frank instead of Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

    I meant Lin and zeller

  • Win

I also have a feeling that stubborn Clifford will ride on Kemba and Al and then bashing the reporters in the post game interview after losing the game.

  • BobbyH

    Size, size
From the view of Cliff eyes
In the name of game match-up
Anyone can start but that guy
    Iso, Iso till the end
    Win or loss, doesn’t matter
    As long as Kemba shine

  • DX

‘Jeremy Lin to Return to the Charlotte Hornets Next Season?’ via @fansided

    http://swarmandsting.com/?p=40726

  • Win

Please don’t. I am sick of the double standard on Clifford coaching system.

  • sws94

As I say to Lin going here or there, it’s up to Lin. He may want the stability but then again, he may not.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

not staring Lin should be an automatic loss, but starting Al, Tank, and Kemba together may yield an unexpected positive result as Lin doesn’t have to deal with any ball dominate players. lol. clifford may have inadvertantly triggered Linsanity!

  • sws94

I think Lin plays big minutes.

  • HVJoy

    I hope so.

  • Win

It is up to him. But by now we should all able to tell Clifford has double standard on his player. People praise about his defensive mind on coaching but honestly, there is not much Clifford has done. He was just lucky on the players have something to prove so all of the players buy in to his system.

He is nothing more a mediocre coach.

  • sws94

You know, Cody is taken out of the starting lineup. That’s a big story in itself. I wouldn’t be happy if I were Cody because I can’t see how Frank is better defensively. Cody will come off of the bench.

  • Win

The most important on defense is not coaching. Is a “Team” thing.

  • Win

I am not very good in English so I might not able to express my thoughts correctly sometime. But I think Gregg Popovich’s video about coaching said it all.

A most important of a Coach is putting players together that are willing to play as a whole. If a coach has double standard on his players, it will never works.

  • Win

And yea Clifford piss me off, especially once playoff has started.

  • DrewBear2

Toronto looks vulnerable and Jeremy had two great games against them in the regular season. If only…

  • Win

In any case, let hope JLin have a monster game so that he can prove to the GMs on more time that he can handle playoff games.

  • Win

Size? The shortest guy on the team is gonna get the most minutes.

  • zxcvb

He 100% won’t. People mistake Lin’s professionalism as “serious truth.”

Remember when he said he’d consider coming back to the Lakers? LOL. You always want to speak positively as possible. And from a $$$ standpoint, it always helps to make it look like you’re considering other offers.

  • zxcvb

It’s funny how Cliffraud made a big deal about NOT starting Al, NOT making major adjustments, NOT overreacting to a bad game or two. And then he goes with a weird big lineup he’s never started before.

Looks like Lin won’t be allowed to play his game today. Linsanity Monday when they’re down 0-3, I guess.

  • Win

The true is Clifford is panic as h*** and have no clue how to deal with the heats. Watch, he is gonna bash on the reporters again during a post game interview after losing to the Heats again.

  • sws94

Lin doesn’t need to start to have Linsanity. He needs minutes.

  • sws94

zxcvb is right. He’s going against what he so protested against in the post-game interview. He’s making an adjustment starting Al. I guess he’ll say it is because of the Batum injury.

  • Hope

Clifford the Big Red dog is smarter than this Clifford.

  • sws94

I don’t think they are as good as their record and DeRozan and Lowry are again coming up small in the playoffs.

  • Win

I have not problem he is starting Al as I have been saying Al is gonna give problem to Whiteside.

I have no problem he is not starting Lin neither as as you said, Lin need minutes more important than starting or now.

However, I still think he is clueless…. Bottom Line, Spoelstra has out coached Clifford for sure.

  • DrewBear2

Won’t Cody replace Al against Whiteside/Stoudemire? If Al took it well playing off the bench, I’m guessing Cody will do the same.

    Kemba vs Dragic

    Lee vs Wade

Al vs Whiteside

    Marvin vs Deng

    Frank vs Johnson

  • NONONO

It is not overstated, it has been proved in every season, only player could make the difference in the series is Jeremy Lin. The reason is simple – he plays the best defense and he can help all other players score more (except KW – maybe that is why Clifford cannot let Lin play pg),

  • donsmacau

After mulling it over a bit. Good chance Steve Clifford had a moment of truth talk with Michael Jordan.

Clifford ranted after each of the two games and now not only Big Al but Frank Kaminsky starting. Just feels like MJ forced his hand as MJ is the only person Clifford will drop his stubbornness and acquiesce to.

  • Win

    lol. Good one.

  • Win

On the Pacers/ Raptors game, Biyombo has missed 4 FT in a row after the clear path foul. I thinks Raptors is going to lose this one. Momentum is on the Pacers side.

  • khomphuong2

  • sws94

I expected Miami to be a tough matchup for this coach and challenging for Lin. I think Lin is handling the challenge, just needs to score a little more. Cliff is not.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Starting gives him a better chance because even when he gets minutes as a bench, he usually have to play long period of time without a break.

One of the benefit of starting is you can take a break in between the quarters and come back to finish the game.

As a substitute, if you play well, you usually play an entire quarter + the first/third quarter.

  • DrewBear2

Yup. He went Linsane against Spurs and Celtics coming off the bench.

  • sws94

Well, score a lot more this game because Lin’s scoring is needed. Unless he can assist on a lot or a lot of looks leading to made FTs.

  • BobbyH

Kemba’s size is the biggest in Cliff’s eyes.

  • sws94

Right, so he goes from column B. That’s coach’s decision.

  • Win

Lin gotta the run the offense more. To me, Lin biggest strength is he can read the defense and break it down accordingly. Whether it is scoring himself and pass it to his teammate for the best shot. Another word, he makes his teammate better on the offensive end and it normally carry it to the defensive end as everyone on the floor are playing as a team.

  • sws94

Clifford says Lin will play a “ton” of minutes today.

  • Win

He did. And there the only right decision he has made so far imo.

  • donsmacau

Problem is Kemba will play a ton of minutes plus 10 more minutes.

Guess who is playmaker when Kemba’s on the floor? You guessed it.

  • HVJoy

Thanks for sharing the fun video while waiting for G3 to begin.

  • Brewkowski

    McHale actually sounds competent.

  • HY C

are you sure you believe what he said by now?

  • sws94

All star DeRozan and big time PG Lowry are having tough games. They haven’t played well in the playoffs for the most part.

  • Win

Yup. If Lin is gonna stand at the corner all the time then the minutes really means nothing.

  • sws94

Just reporting it for info for the board. Never said I believed him. He says it, let him do it.

  • Win

    As I said.

  • sws94

Miami forces the ball out of the hands of their best offensive facilitators. They’ve shut down Batum’s facilitation and they will try their best to shut down Lin’s. Or they’ll let him facilitate and protect the paint. That’s Lin’s challenge vs. other teams. What he does so effectively with other teams he so far has struggled with against Miami. I think Lin can get past it, but I do keep that in mind.

  • sws94

btw, some guy on the GM board is saying that the big men have to win the game and the game is won with defense. I’m arguing Hornets need offense and Cliff can’t win a game just going one way. He insists on his position, I insist on mine. If they don’t think Lin is a big force that can be the deciding factor in a win or lose game and it is up to “defense”, I think they’re way off.

Lin has to do what the defense gives him and play smart yet aggressive. I think he’ll figure it out.

  • zxcvb

Doesn’t matter if he just stands in the corner watching Kemba.
I’d prefer 25m of Lin as PG to 40m of Lin as backup SG.

  • Win

True. But LOL on Batum’s facilitation. He is no where close to a true/good facilitator. Clifford wants him to be as the FO wanna resign so they decide the best way is to let him have the ball all the time.

  • sws94

I guess the game beings when the Raptors game ends. If it goes into OT, which doesn’t look likely, I guess the Hornets game will start on a different channel.

  • sws94

Get the ball and make plays. From wherever he gets it on the court. If Cliff allows no involvement from Lin, Hornets deserve to lose as soon as possible.

  • donsmacau

If the Benchforce has a play progression thus: (assuming Kemba plays 42-48 mins)

    Kemba iso
    Kemba iso
    JLIN playmake
    Kemba iso
    Kemba iso
    Kemba iso
    JLIN playmake
    Kemba iso

… it’s that much more difficult for JLIN to read the defense and get into rhythm even without Big Al on the bench squad.

Kemba is a disaster to winning these games. Spoelstra dreams of Kemba isos it’s a sure way to sweep – 29 points in 29 shots.

  • zxcvb

Raps look so vulnerable. If Cliff wasn’t such a slave to Kemba, the Hornets could have gone to the ECFs.

  • sws94

He’s had some good games but he has to do it under the right conditions. He mostly has a good chemistry with Cody, but he also has so many TOs. If Lin were allowed Batum’s TO, he’d have 15 assits a game.

  • zxcvb

    “Get the ball”

    There’s your problem.

  • Win

Haha. Honestly, I agreed with some your comments and the basketball pov so I respect your post. But GM board is just bunch of bias and coach wannabe. They know nothing about basketball.

  • swijaya

We have seen in the 2 playoff games that Lin was capable of attacking Heat, just not enough play created for him.

Good coaches will show up during playoff games, eg. Indiana, Dallas. Guess not the case for Charlotte…

  • sws94

Game over. Indiana played a strong game, Raptors look like a mediocre playoff team.

  • sws94

No wins. Clifford is making his reputation now. And he’s failing.

  • sws94

no Batum should have it go to Lin instead. If it doesn’t, there’s no hope.

  • Win

Agreed. Batum is allowed on TO but not Lin. That’s double standard. No player wanna play for a team like that beside the players that can get away with their mistake. And therefore, I don’t wanna see Lin play for the Hornets next season.

  • blubell
  • Win

By the way, I also saw a guy in GM said in order to beat the Heats, they need Kemba to play a monster game. LMAO.

  • takeme2cruz

I am going to give Kemba and Clifford the benefit of the doubt about how they are going to use Lin today just because out of their desperation and home game. Hope I am not wrong.

  • Win

At least Wade is not gonna get all the calls since Hornets is at home.

  • Win

Yup. 100% they need to cut down on KW ISO and even less time for PG. Let JLin run the offense to get his team going.

    Go Lin!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    You’d be surprise

  • swijaya

We have been giving this benefit of the doubt for the whole season. Hence left with doubt only now ….

  • Win

    🙁

  • cshot

ahhh im so pumped. plz win one for us jeremy. ur the only hope haha

  • jimmyL

    25mins

  • Win

Yup. And MW gotta show up too.

  • adele

You’re wrong. Kaminsky and Al starting

  • NONONO

Frank has been played bad in the playoffs and Clifford started him?? dumb

  • LinMad

Lin still isn’t starting. We might get a big loss today.

  • Alain Gervais

    Kimanski cant guard Dang

  • Win

    Expected.

  • Win

I did agreed to start Al though.

  • adele

    What can you expect?

  • Sophie Paris

    Oh no😒

  • adele

    Not we. Them. Hornets.

  • sws94

    Good, MW scored.

  • Win

    Kemba D is just… sigh.

  • sws94

Is Deng hot or Kam can’t guard him?

  • Alain Gervais

    deng has 3 threes

  • LinMad

    .finally a MW bucket

  • Alain Gervais

    Kam cant guard him

  • Win

    Glad to see. Go MW!

  • Win

Agreed. Frank is not fast enough.

  • Alain Gervais

    Deng has 4 threes

  • LinMad

please, don’t overreact, compose yourself Kemba

  • LinMad

Frank getting ripped up cause he doesn’t even raise his hands

  • Ben Johnson

    This offense is pathetic

  • Win

I thinks I am 2-3 mins behind the real time.

  • Ben Johnson

    It’s like the anti-popovich offense

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin in next

  • LinMad

Lin wanted to go in, Cliff made him sit back down.

  • Alain Gervais

    Time out break

  • cdblue10

    JUST SMH!!!!

  • Win

As usual, the starter is digging hole.

  • Alain Gervais

    Be prepared

  • sws94

Alfense and Kemba with a bit of Marv. No ball movement, no screens, no schemes, just looks like streetball. This is not fun to watch.

  • adele

I’m just laughing with this hornets team. The coach is not even calling time out and Change this Kaminsky

  • Ben Johnson

This team and coach are garbage, plain and simple

  • LinMad

    Cliff is a bad coach.

  • Alain Gervais

    Atleast its not 20

  • Win

I have a very very strong feeling that we are all gonna see another ISO KW and ISO Al game.

  • adele

You just know that at this game? Lol

  • sws94

There’s nothing encouraging in what I’m watching. Changing a lineup is not making an adjustment to what’s needed to play well and win.

  • Ben Johnson

Cliff must think that Kemba and Jeff are Stockton and Malone…hahaha!!

  • Alain Gervais

    He isn’t

  • Win

    Cliff is dumb. Period.

  • cdblue10

No scheme and structure,I’m signing out!!!!

  • adele

    Face palm. Smh.🙄

  • LinMad

Cliff wants to give everyone a chance except Lin. Frank gets roasted by Deng with 4 threes. Why is Frank starting over Lin?

  • Ben Johnson

it’s honestly some of the worst coaching I’ve ever seen in the playoffs

  • takeme2cruz

Cliff should have called time on Deng’s second 3.

  • Epie

    Dumb and stubborn

  • adele

    Lolololol!

  • cshot

pull frank plz. cliff stop being an imbecile

  • LINSANITY

Deng has been lighting up Kaminsky.. I knew it was a terrible idea starting Frank.. what was Coach thinking?

  • LINSANITY

HOW DO YOU NOT START LIN in the most important game of your season?

  • sws94

    He’s tall.

  • LinMad

Knowing Cliff, he might leave Frank in and play Lin at the 3 minute mark.

  • JJ Hui

CC send Kaminsky to start digging hole, Lol! Luel Dend 12 pts not even half first quarter!

  • LINSANITY

    LIN IS IN!

  • Ben Johnson

yup, wouldn’t put anything past him

  • sws94

    Lin in.

  • Win

No offense. But he is bad. People praise him too much on the defensive end. He was just lucky that lot of players have a lot to prove so they buy in to his system. Not because he actually know how to coach.

  • LINSANITY

Kaminsky is still in.. lol wtf

  • cshot

    The Chosen One is in

  • LINSANITY

    WHERE IS JEREMY LAMB? WTF

  • Alain Gervais

Its gonna be a long day

  • sws94

    BIg hand for Lin.

  • LinMad

Cliff only uses Lin when he’s desperate and needs a savior. But he still doesn’t know when to use Lin. He waits till they are buried neck deep.

  • Elon Musk

    get frank out pls

  • sws94

    Foul on Lin already.

  • LINSANITY

COME ON LIN STEP UP WE NEED YOU!

  • Alain Gervais

I wanted Lin on dang not wade

  • Alain Gervais

Why did the put Lin on wade

  • Alain Gervais

    What is cliff doing

  • Win

I gotta stop reading the posts, you guys are about 5 mins ahead of me.

  • LinMad

    Frank is still in?

  • LINSANITY

WOW LIN missed a wide open layup

  • sws94

    Lin rushed that.

  • Alain Gervais

    A bit rushed

  • LINSANITY

    hes nervous

  • Alain Gervais

no just surprised he got the ball from an air ball

  • LINSANITY

    LIN3333333333333333333333

  • LINSANITY

OK LIN ABOUT TO HAVE A BIG GAME!

  • sws94

    Yes.

  • adele

    333333333333333

  • LinMad

i don’t blame him, he should have started for confidence. Everyone knows Lin will have those 10 point games today since he’s coming off the bench. If he started he would have went 18-25 pts.

  • LinMad

    33333333

  • LINSANITY

WOW NICE SETUP LIN TO FRANK!

  • LINSANITY

YO LIN ABOUT TO GO HAM I JUST FEEL IT!

  • Sophie Paris

    Yesss

  • JJ Hui

    333

  • Win

    Go Lin!!!

  • sws94

    Yep. He’s fine.

  • cshot

    LETS FREAKING GO

  • LINSANITY

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LETS GET IT BOY>> BEAT THE HEAT!

  • LINSANITY

LETS GO I SEE YOU HOLLY!

  • LinMad

    who’s Holly?

  • Win

I think Spo is smart. I believe he will put Winslow on Lin as Winslow is fast. No one else is fast enough to guard Lin in the Heats starting unit.

  • Win

    Tattoo girl

  • LinMad

oh, you saw her in the crowd? Is she courtside or something?

  • sws94

Fast, big, strong, excellent defender. Slow Lin down, don’t let him get going. Spo knows about Linsanity.

  • Howan Cheung

hope that 3 will give lin the confidence to play his game

  • Win

Yea. Spo is really really smart.

  • khomphuong2
  • Elon Musk

Lin said making the first 3 will make him feel more confident. LETS GO

  • LINSANITY

    AND1!

  • LINSANITY

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Win

Lee is not big enough to guard Joe Johnson. We have 2 mismatch…..

  • LinMad

    give Lin the ball!!! and1!

  • Promo Sports World

    Let’s go Jeremy

  • cshot

    and 1

  • Elon Musk

    why is frank shooting 3

  • Win

    Lin!!! And 1!!!!!

  • Epie

Cliff is already thinking..”should I pull Lin out.. I can’t let Linsanity happen”

  • Ben Johnson

WHY IS ANYONE OTHER THAN LIN TOUCHING THE BALL?!?!

  • Win

Too bad I gotta go to dinner. I wanna stay home and watch Lin play….

  • Win

    Zeller!

  • LINSANITY

    LIN SHU HAO!

  • LinMad

    2222222

  • LINSANITY

    LINSANITY IS HERE!

  • Alain Gervais

    wooooooooo

  • sws94

Our boy looks great. Aggressive and very, very fast.

  • Win

    Lin!!!!!

  • swijaya

Lin with immediate impact to the game .. still surprise Cliff??????

  • Win

    Very very fast indeed!

  • zxcvb

Will Cliff and Kemba freeze Lin out again?

    Let’s see…

  • LINSANITY

THIS IS EXACTLY how Hornets will win this game.. Lin leading the way.. look at the difference he makes as soon as he comes in the game

  • Elon Musk

    LETS GO

  • Win

    2 on Whiteside. Yes!!!

  • cshot

LETS go jeremy show em what you can do!!!!!!! PHIL 4:13!!!!!!

  • LINSANITY

WHere is Jeremy Lamb is this coach serious

  • Win

    We are leading!

  • LinMad

why did Lee force that so fast. Should have ran the clock down.

  • Win

    Come on Lee….

  • Win

Lee has playing very selfish lately.

  • Elon Musk

    NO FOUL?

  • Alain Gervais

We cant afford him getting hurt

  • sws94

Bad shot, didn’t shoot it with confidence.

  • Win

Yea. On defensive purpose. We need Lee.

  • Win

We are leading after the 1st!!!!

  • LinMad

he iso’d it when he should hve dribbled the time down and maybe pass it lol

  • Alain Gervais

He is but I’m guessing He is playing aggressive so the defense respects him. That way others have more freedom

  • Win

Yup. I respect his defense too.

  • LinMad

    first time this series?

  • swijaya

Take Kemba out .. he is the reason CHA does not have size!!

  • Win

    I think so. Lol.

  • Win

Now let Lin play as PG on the 2nd qtr.

  • LinMad

i want to see Lin run point 2nd qtr by himself

  • LinMad

KW will probably still be in but I hope he sits. He needs to rest. Played all of 1st qtr

  • Alain Gervais

Al may play with the 2nd unit

  • Win

Is ok. We need Al on Whiteside.

  • cshot

meh…. i don’t know how to feel lol

  • LinMad

ugh not sure if I like the Lin/Al combo

  • Alain Gervais

    no al

  • LinMad

i’ll take Al if it’s the PnR Al, not the slow pace, post up, lane clogging Al.

  • Win

As I said Dragic is overrated. He is good but not star.

  • Alain Gervais

    No foul there

  • Win

Yea. Except if Whiteside back in. Then we attacking him with driving and Al post up.

  • LinMad

    non call

  • Win

    Where is the foul???????

  • swijaya

CHA current line up has the correct ‘size’

  • LinMad

    crazy dunk by MW

  • Alain Gervais

Stop trying to draw the foul

  • sws94

Lin not getting calls. Come on.

  • Win

We should put Cody on Amare.

  • sws94

    Yes, just shoot it.

  • Win

    MW!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin should just shoot it

  • LinMad

wow they call the exact same thing on Dragic but not Lin.

  • sport

Just checked into the game, looks like Lin did get to start and is doing well. Lets hope he doesn’t get iced out for Kemba-ball later. If that happens Hornets will lose.

  • Win

    WTH??????? No foul?????????????

  • cshot

    comon refs….

  • LinMad

no he didnt’ get to start.

  • JJ Hui

No foul for Lin? couples time alrady?

  • Elon Musk

    NO FOUL AGAIN

  • Win

I hate the refs sooooooo much!

  • sws94

    Lee playing too much ISO.

  • zxcvb

Lin hacked hard TWICE. No call.

Dragic falls down like a clumsy chump…2 FTs.

  • Win

Cuz Dragic is a so call STAR. DAMN IT.

  • sws94

Lin is getting space. Maybe get the short jumper going.

  • Alain Gervais

We have to keep playing hard.

  • LINSANITY

Are you serious.. that Black REF didnt call two fouls on LIN..

  • zxcvb

Lin needs to pick up a technical if he gets hosed again.

  • Alain Gervais

Yup just need to build the tempo to their benefit

  • LinMad

wow all these missed calls, Zeller was fouled too and they didn’t call it

  • Win

    These refs…….

  • xeroid

Others need to cut when Lin is driving, like that time Williams did for dunk.

  • travis

lee calling his own number way too often, much rather lamb then this lee

  • LinMad

notice how Heat are losing/turning the ball over cause we are playing at a faster pace. Should have done this in game 1 and 2. They are playing panicked, missing easy buckets too.

  • takeme2cruz

MJ and the Bulls lost to the Knicks 2 games at home then came back to win 2 @ MSG and the playoff series. Hornets can do it.

  • kauaiblue

    Howa he doing?

  • Win

It was a mismatched. So I let him go on this one. But as I said, Lee has been playing very selfishly.

  • NONONO

Great to see Lin keep shooting. he would do much batter if he had 30 mins today

  • travis

when batum is running the o how fast can you run

  • sws94

    Kemba telling Lin, be aggressive.

  • Epie

    LOL Best dancer ever

  • Win

    Really?

  • LinMad

    like a turtle.

  • Alain Gervais

    2222222

  • Alain Gervais

    222222

  • Win

As I said. KW is cool. Is the Coach who doesn’t know how to use Lin.

  • Win

    Go Lin!!!

  • blubell

    10 pts in 10 minutes

  • LinMad

    too easy!!!!

  • LINSANITY

    OMG LINSANITY

  • Win

    222222222222

  • LINSANITY

OMG LIN IS GOIGN TO WIN THIS GAME BY HISSELF!

  • swijaya

We are witnessing another Linsanity game? Hope so ..

  • Alain Gervais

    2 FT

  • blubell

    finally a foul

  • LINSANITY

LIN IS PUTTING THIS TEAM ON HIS BACK REAL TALK

  • Win

    Offensive foul!

  • Alain Gervais

    3 fouls on tragic

  • Elon Musk

    LETS FUCKINUG GO

  • cshot

finally they decide to call the d@m fouls

  • LinMad

    did it go in?

  • zxcvb

    CHEAT THAT RACIST REFS.

  • Win

Go JLin! You gotta permission go give the Heats a taste of Linsanity!

  • Alain Gervais

    That was goaltending

  • sport

That was reach in foul, no point refuting that Dragic.

  • zxcvb

Lin got 2 calls out 7 hard fouls so far.

  • LinMad

    goaltending?

  • Win

    Goaltending!

  • cshot

    its ok jeremy keep attacking

  • Basil

lin has developed his own version of harden’s show-the-ball-and-swing-arms-up move. always learning and growing.

  • Win

These refs really piss me off now.

  • zxcvb

Lin getting CHEATED by refs every other possession..

He should have 6 more points at least.

  • zxcvb

If Lin were officiated like a black player, he’d have 20 by now.

  • LinMad

another turn over. They can’t handle this pace.

  • Win

    Whiteside is in. Al Time!!!

  • blubell

    Assist

  • zxcvb

Goaltend bucket and 2 hard shooting fouls uncalled. Also a pair of 50/50 and-ones not called.

  • Win

    Attack Attack Attack!!!

  • Win

    Richardson is good.

  • Alain Gervais

    Rookie been annoying lol

  • LINSANITY

LINSANITY TAKE OVER HAS BEGUN.. LIN WILL GO FOR 30 TONIGHT!

  • LinMad

its time for Kemba to do some damage. They are adjusting to Lin now.

  • LINSANITY

    WILL LIN SCORE 40 tonight?

  • NONONO

KW dancing around on the defense is going to kill Hornets.

  • takeme2cruz

F that was goal tending as clear as day.

  • zxcvb

Does Kemba ever get a defensive stop? Terrible defense.

  • David Ly

    +7 highest on team.

  • LINSANITY

    clearly was

  • cshot

yah kemba needs to start penetrating a little more so help defense comes to him

  • Win

Both Lin and Kemba and Al gotta attack Whiteside and get him out of the game.

  • LinMad

Lin getting robbed at home court

  • sport

Walker comes in and Lin gets less chances to score with Walker just standing when Lin has the ball.

  • BobbyH

Everyone needs to step up to win this game. That’s more like it so far. Everyone is involved.

  • Win

Come on Hornets. Do it as a team and come back and kick the Heats out of the 1st round.

  • LinMad

Lin should be the PG, Kemba should be the shooter. He can ISO with a pass from Lin like he normally does. It’s a waste of PG when Kemba is PG.

  • JJ Hui

Is Lamb on the bench? Anyone?

  • sport

Not so fast, Kemba might go into his ball hog mode any time.

  • Alain Gervais

Im ok with it Lin has played 2 minutes strain has 10 shots. walker has 3. Lin needs a little rest

  • Win

It is ok if KW willing to move the ball. They need both Lin and KW to get Whiteside.

  • takeme2cruz

If Lin was 10% of harden he would get at least 6 more calls.

  • NONONO

Every time Kemba is on the court, i am concern one of teammates would get injured by covering too much on his weak defense.

  • sport

Who is this Lamb player you speak of, is he even still a Hornets player? ><"

  • Win

For sure. So many non calls already.

  • sport

that and concerned about guys not moving cause Kemba refuses to move on offense.

  • Win

It is ok KW is on the floor with Lin. Let Lin run the offense.

  • Win

Wow. Another no call on Lee.

  • LinMad

    Lin gives Wade a foul

  • Win

    Finally.

  • Alain Gervais

Al is slowing down the game

  • HVJoy

Most important game for the team! Hope team ball continues with the home court magic!

  • NONONO

that is not foul. kw is too small

  • Win

I am starting to wanna kick the ref’s butt.

  • NONONO

    KW/AL is killing the game

  • Win

No one get call, Not Lin, Not KW, Not Lee.

  • Alain Gervais

Our offense is dying. Give the ball back to Lin

  • travis

ridiculous give the ball to lin smh

  • HVJoy

    Good job, Lin.

  • LINSANITY

OFFENSE was way better with Lin running the show.. how does Cliff not see this? is he blind to the truth?

  • Win

Bad 3 from KW. Pass the ball man.

  • xeroid

What’s going on? Clifford, take KW out, let Lin do the work.

  • Win

    These U#)@#&@&# Refs

  • cshot

kemba getting careless and iso mode. stop bro

  • LinMad

KW wants some points, but I think its best if he sticks to playing like a team.

  • kauaiblue

my goodness… just give it jlin… walker is playing hero ball…

  • Alain Gervais

9 assit to 10 is better not great

  • zxcvb

Kemba Ball taking over. Combined with horrible racial reffing, CHA could lose this.

  • Epie

Stick with what works! Cliff come on!

  • Win

Way better than the 1st and 2nd game.

  • zxcvb

NBA really, really wants Miami to advance. Much better ratings. Cavs vs. Heat is what they want.

  • sws94

Yep, Kemba isn’t getting it done. Lee hasn’t played well either.

  • sport

Lin gets tripped no foul? Kemba comes in and Lin hasn’t score since, he ruins the spacing for Lin just iso iso and iso.

  • Win

I know. These refs are just ridiculous

  • sport

Can still give this one to Hornets for a longer series, more money to make.

  • LinMad

not just Kemba but Al. Lin has to resort to passing the ball or shooting 3s.

  • HVJoy

    No!

  • zxcvb

No, that’ll wait till Game 4. CHA winning this makes it a series again. 2-1 is right there. 3-0, they can let CHA win a game or even two.

  • LinMad

I would like to try Lamb/Troy instead of Lee but their defense isn’t good. Lamb/Troy instead of Kemba would be best lineup for Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin sits

  • Win

It is so obvious and the refs is hold their whistle on the Hornets.

  • sport

Kemba is embarrassing himself out there, chucking up an ugly 3 pointer, goes to the rim but can’t handle whiteside.

  • sws94

He played like 14 minutes straight.

  • heart

Just came home and catching up, saw Lin did some pg duty led a run and a lead, then KW got back in and the offense is stagnant again. Then saw Lin got tripped by Wade (I think), and no call. SMH!

  • LINSANITY

is this coach stupid how do you take LIN OUT in the most important 2 minutes of the 1st half?

  • Win

Is ok. He should rest a little.

  • LINSANITY

Take Kaminsky out.. put in LIN.. simple as that

  • zxcvb

He got fouled waaay more than that. Two hard fouls on shots…no call. Obvious goaltend layup…no call.

  • Win

God I hate Whiteside, get him another foul before half time pls.

  • LinMad

Whiteside on Kemba, Kemba wil be useless

  • Win

    BS foul!

  • LinMad

not if halftime is only 2 minutes away

  • sws94

    GO MARV

  • Win

MJ should really say something about these calls.

  • Alain Gervais

    I love our energy

  • Win

    MW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin in

  • LinMad

    MW’s 33333333333

  • Win

    Same here.

  • takeme2cruz

    MW, awaken the sleeping Giant.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin gonna take 22 shots at this rate lol

  • sws94

Good half by Lin. Wish he hit that jumper but he played fantastic. Keep the aggression next half.

  • LINSANITY

LETS GO Marvin.. were going to need him if Hornets want any shot at this series

  • HVJoy

Lin was so excited for MW’s triple on the sideline. 🙂

  • LinMad

Just want this win so there will be atlesat 2 more games

  • takeme2cruz

    GO HORNETS.

  • LinMad

    Lin is the x-factor

  • Ben Johnson

um, Lin is the best player…was Jordan the x-factor on the bulls?

  • sport

Just want Cliff to let Lin lead the unit by himself for some minutes, Walker and Al ruins spacing and Lin’s scoring chances.

  • Win

Gotta go now. Enjoy the rest of the game guys and girls! And Go Lin! Go Hornets!

  • takeme2cruz

In this series the Heat have been making a lot of ridiculous shots. That really helped them to win 2 games.

  • LinMad

3rd quarter, I hope we go very aggressive and pull away from them

  • NONONO

It looks like KW did not shot mach (2/5????), no wonder Hornets is winning.

  • khomphuong2
  • LINSANITY

nah its the 4th quarter where Lin will take over and win the game for the Hornets hes going for at least 25 tonight

  • sport

Third game already and MJ only shows up now?

  • cshot

    lin attack mode activated

  • David Ly

Would you start Lin since Kaminsky is pretty much a non-factor as a starter? Is it better for Lin to come in at 6 min mark to play without Al?

  • LinMad

yep cause we were playing too slow the first 2 games. Now that we pressure them on D and fast pace O, they miss more shots, turn the ball over and make stupid mistakes.

  • takeme2cruz

KW is moving the ball today but I question Lee.

  • sport

Start Lin but stagger his mins with Walker, it’s not hard, Cliff is just stubborn.

  • JoeTeam

kam has been pretty bad so far. I think he’s had at least 3 tap outs to MIA.

  • Ben Johnson

I bet they gonna talk about Lin on TNT halftime

  • HVJoy

5 points lead at halftime, I love it! Hope the home court magic continues!

  • JoeTeam

yes, Lee and Kam have been bad on the court.

  • swijaya

Gotta say – Lin been very solid on the playoff!!
Possibly Hornet’s best player of the series so far …

  • sport

1-2 more but still ball hogging and chuck iso shots.

  • NONONO

Hornets has a magic show in the half time? how do you expect fire up the audience???

  • LinMad

kam looks like he’s not in the zone. He looks like he’s playing a preseason game that doesn’t matter.

  • sport

Lin is the best player of the Hornets no question when given minutes and allowed to lead the team as PG.

  • takeme2cruz

    Love Shaq commenting about Lin.

  • LinMad

ya, start Lin 3rd, sit him earlier. Bring him in when 2nd unit comes in.

  • sws94

Shaq talking about Lin. Says Lin is playing like a starter. Said, Jeremy Lin where have you been?

  • Elon Musk

    what did he say?

  • NONONO

not possible. definitely – a game changer.

  • swijaya

He has been chained by his coach, or Kemba …

  • LinMad

great comments, Lin wasn’t there because he wasn’t getting enough touches. But I like that he said he plays like a starter now.

  • takeme2cruz

Where has he been (13 pts) but he understands why.

  • sws94

Kenny Smith says common thread is dribble penetration. Shows Lin scoring on dribble-penetration against Stoudimire.

  • LinMad

he said Lin plays like a starter and Shaq knew he had it in him. But he also said where has he been in game 1 and 2. Inconsistency. But anyone watching Lin carefully will know he doesn’t get the ball as much as others.

  • HVJoy

They already started talking about him.

Shag said his question is, ” Lin, where have you been?”
Smith talked about Lin’s “great dribble penetration.”

  • kauaiblue

    What’s going on?

  • heart

**Glad MW hits his a 3 today, but hope Daniels get to play and hit some winning 3s. When Lin and Daniels play together, good things happen. Cliff has to play Lin more to win.
**Shaq said: “Jeremy Lin, where have you been?” He should ask that to Cliff. Why hasn’t Cliff start Jeremy Lin or give him more minutes in game 1 and 2?

  • sws94

Barkley doesn’t know how good a finisher Lin is. Dope.

  • LinMad

ya we know Lin has it in him. It’s other factors.

  • kauaiblue

charles barley is a moron… says he doesn’t want jeremy to have to take shots at the end… he doesn’t do his homework… jlin is mr. 4th qtr and clutch… someone tweet him this please!

  • David Ly

Barkley doesn’t think Lin can finish games.

  • Alain Gervais

Remember he is getting 2 million a year lol.

  • sws94

I’ll take it because he’s saying Lin is the man. Shaq has high standards for Lin and it’s good to see that.

  • takeme2cruz

That’s good. He has been wrong too much.

  • Alain Gervais

    HE will see

  • LinMad

he said he doesn’t want it to come down to Lin cause it always goes down to Kemba in the end. I guess he’s trying to say that Kemba is the franchise star and Lin isn’t so coach probably won’t let Lin finish.

  • kauaiblue

he is not prepared and did not do his homework… moron… and lazy…

  • David Ly

I’m just glad Lin is being talked about at halftime. They mentioned him a bunch of times. Great national media exposure.

  • takeme2cruz

Only if Clif keeps him on the bench.

  • kauaiblue

no, he said jlin can’t finish games and then he said walker has to finish…

  • zxcvb

He also said Warriors could never win a title (“Can’t win with 3s!”).

No one respects Chuck’s knowledge. He’s just there for comedy/entertainment.

    He’s funny because he’s stupid as h***.

  • HVJoy

He is not as high on Lin as Shag. He likes that “Hornets controls the tempo of the game.” We know who contributes to that!

  • LinMad

well at least no one else agreed with him. There was an awkward silence and then commercial break.

  • takeme2cruz

Just like how Barkley predicted GS would win by 10 in game 3 during half time.

  • kauaiblue

    that’s true! lol

  • heart

Barkley, you don’t know what you’re talking about! Don’t want Lin to close out or make plays down the stretch??? Are you kidding me??? Chuck??? Don’t you know that Lin is Mr. 4th Quarter and a Clutch Winner!!! Lin will show you if he has is given an opportunity!

  • Alain Gervais

This next5 minutes have me a little concern. They must at the very least maintain the lead

  • LinMad

well whatever he says, the opposite usually happens so lets see if Lin will go all out 2nd half.

  • blubell
  • Elon Musk

It is amazing that we have an incompetent guy giving his analysis on an NBA game

  • swijaya

Barkley is a joke .. he is there for entertainment value only

  • Sophie Paris

He is wrong so many times. Doesn’t matter

  • HVJoy

The exposure on national TV will surely helps with his desirability in the FA market.

  • blubell
  • takeme2cruz

If you live in LA you would see much worse.

  • Alain Gervais

It doesn’t matter. Lin playing great

  • kauaiblue

    D issues?

  • CJSHYY

    Don’t like the D issues.

  • Alain Gervais

    What D issues

  • Elon Musk

    D ISSUE?

  • HVJoy

What D issues? Has he followed Lin this season?

  • Alain Gervais

    Likely didn’t

  • takeme2cruz

    Hurt him publicly.

  • kauaiblue

come on clifford, EVEN mchale trusted jlin with the ball… give it to him you chicken sht!

  • Ben Johnson

    what D issues fool?!?!

  • HVJoy

I am happy Lin got more touches and played PG as he should.

  • Ben Johnson

Seriously, do people even watch NBA players actually play before giving their opinions???

  • takeme2cruz

That baseline drive for a quick 2 layup was too fast for my eyes.

  • Sophie Paris

    Seems like not

  • blubell
  • swijaya

    Are you the ‘Elon Musk’?

  • Nolimitation

Look it that, Spo is drawing up plays before 3rd starts.

  • LinMad

he’s just feeding fuel to the Lin haters on Twitter. Looks like Lin haters agree with him.

  • kauaiblue

    Charles barkley certainly did’t…

  • LinMad

    another 12 please

  • HVJoy

Well, Barkley has had his large collection of wrong opinion/prediction. His opinion is irrelevant!

  • swijaya

Most likely a W, if that will be the case

  • heart

Wow, contracting one self, isn’t he??? Got Wade in foul trouble. Deflected the ball. Got into the paint easily and he still has to smear Lin w/ “D-issue”??? It’s his brain can’t believe what he sees w/ his eyes!

  • NONONO

Even with D issues? Addition to his great defense….

  • LinMad

74% FG pct for game 2. That is embarrassing.

  • Elon Musk

just wondering… where is stephanie ready?

  • kauaiblue

    kaminsky started? smh

  • kauaiblue

    This team is a disaster…

  • CJSHYY
  • kauaiblue

why can’t clifford just give jlin a chance? oh yeah… he’s

  • takeme2cruz

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I would take Barkley any day.

  • LinMad

on TNT? i don’t think she gets to comment on this game.

  • kauaiblue

    walker sux…

  • JJ Hui

He is the 7 miilion dollar man

  • kauaiblue

    deal with it, dude…

  • kauaiblue

    pathetic…

  • Alain Gervais

Lin has to come in soon

  • Sophie Paris

    Let Lin in

  • LinMad

MJ still sitting. he usually comes back late from his half time break but I guess he wants to see 100% of the game today

  • kauaiblue

does clifford realize that walker is too short and that hornets current forwards and centers can’t match up against whiteside and miami’s frontline?

  • David Ly

Wow early timeout. Will Lin come in this early?

  • Alain Gervais

    i doubt it

  • takeme2cruz

Every second Clifford keeps Lin on the bench, the danger grows worse and worse.

  • LinMad

    MJ not happy.

  • sport

Cliff still stat padding Kemba, now 2 point game, better let Lin check-in after this time out.

  • swijaya

Please change your rigid rotation .. Cliff

    Get Lin in asap

  • JoeTeam

Must win. No firepower wo Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba 2-8

  • cshot

    put lin in plz.

  • David Ly

Offense looks really stagnant and undynamic to start the half.

  • takeme2cruz

Does Cliff know that his f.ing starting lineup shows NO threat to the Heat?

  • Alain Gervais

    He likely won’t

  • cshot

    i want 1 win. just 1 …. plz

  • sport

Then he should reign in Walker and Cliff and let Lin lead the team! What does he expect when he’s stat padding a fake star.

  • heart

KW can’t run the offense. The minute he sees the lead then he starts shooting for self-scoring, instead of setting up teammates for easy basket. It happens like this over and over again. Thank God, Cliff call time out quickly today perhaps bc MJ is in the house!

  • Alain Gervais

    Refs doing al dirty

  • JoeTeam

I think you guys missed his subtle point. He intimated that kw would get the finish. He was really saying Lin won’t get the ball.

  • HVJoy

Oh no, the lead is cut to 2.

  • Elon Musk

and wtf refs… why no calls?

  • LinMad

he’s too small for Miami to iso. He should be thinking about play making.

  • Michael

    But we said please.

  • LinMad

    we needed that 3…

  • LinMad

Frank being too fancy. Just pass it if ur man is on you liek that.

  • sws94

    Finally, good play by Lee.

  • Alain Gervais

    Love our enery

  • kauaiblue

walker is not too smaert… he keeps shooting… use your speed to penetrate and pass!

  • Ben Johnson

Does that count as an assist from Kimba, that freaking Midget

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin will come in next

  • takeme2cruz

How many shots did MJ have (lol I meant drink)?

  • Alain Gervais

    No i doubt it

  • LinMad

seriously his speed is his advantage.

  • sport

Walker got denied by Whiteside, lol sorry you’re not Lin.

  • HVJoy

    Lol

  • Guest

Hornets are pure bounded again. Lin needs to hustle more rebounds, needs to blame somebody….

  • David Ly

    Lin in!

  • LinMad

    he always look high

  • BobbyH

He is wrong. It is the fans that are polarizing.

  • LINSANITY

    UNLEASH LIN!

  • sport

Walker never passes when he penetrates, selfish player.

  • HVJoy

    lol

  • LINSANITY

LIN ABOUT TO GO SUPER SAIYAN III

  • kauaiblue

hes useless… his d is terrible and he gets blocked or bricks like virtually all the time…

  • sport

Lin in but please take Walker out!

  • Michael

First time you ever watched Lin play eh?

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemanski showing his value

  • LinMad

Dragic punking Kemba cause he’s smaller?

  • Howan Cheung

    after 2 games

  • Michael

Lol are you saying Lin needs to rebound more.

  • LinMad

    nice D

  • sws94

    YESSSSSSSSSS

  • KL

  • zxcvb

Lin getting hard screened 3 times on back-to-back possessions.

Spo trying to wear him down physically.

NOT WORKING. EAT S**T DIRTY @SS HEAT.

  • LINSANITY

    LINSANITY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

  • David Ly

  • Howan Cheung

    Dagger to the heart!

  • Ben Johnson

    F YEAHHHHHH!!!

  • LinMad

    DAGGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LINSANITY

HOME RUN 3333– Barkley was right.. if Hornets are going to win they have to blowout the Heat

    Fight fire with more fire

  • cshot

    H*** YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • LINSANITY

Hornets can still win this series.. I think theyre finding the formula

  • Elon Musk

    LETS F****** GO

  • cdblue10

    Whooaaaaa I’m back!!!

  • I am The Jason

Lin comes in and the Heat has to call a timeout. Keep it up

  • JJ Hui

    Lin333

  • HVJoy

    Biggest lead of 14!

  • S

    SO MUCH HYPE

  • sport

Kaminsky playing with confidence and Lin with that 3! Game is won!

  • Sophie Paris

    Knew it xD

  • Joe what do you know

Coach has been reluctant to add chocolate when he’s supposed to make chocolate milk shake… Took him long enough…

  • Alain Gervais

    Welcome to the playoffs

  • LinMad

    FRANK IS KILLING IT

  • Howan Cheung

Heat players getting annoyed and picking fights

  • blubell

    high five from MJ 🙂

  • sws94

    Dragic is falling apart.

  • HVJoy

Kam is no longer “timid” as in G1 and G2!

  • LinMad

    Heat getting in foul trouble?

  • sws94

    for Lin???

  • NONONO

Did you guys see MJ high 5 with Lin?

  • blubell

    yes

  • sws94

    Great, find a pic!!

  • sws94

    YAY

  • LinMad

    lol nope i missed it

  • Elon Musk

PLS I WANANS EE A PIC

  • Guest

Nobody else is doing the dirty work, do everything you can to get a win

  • HVJoy

No I missed it. He must be happy with the 18 pts lead!

  • Michael

    KW going full KobeMeloHarden mode.

  • LinMad

    was it after the dagger?

  • cdblue10

    LOL

  • NONONO

I got TNT 4 cams, one of them shows MJ high 5 with Lin when Lin on the court.

  • LinMad

damn Lin got another personal foul

  • Rick Johnson
  • Rick Johnson

    FRANK !!!!

  • NONONO

    yes

  • zxcvb

LOL. Wade gets that call while Lin didn’t on the exact same contact 1m earlier.

  • LinMad

    true

  • Michael

Where the contact at = =.

  • I am The Jason

Can’t wait for Kemba to rest.

  • zxcvb

It was really a carbon copy — bodied up on a leaning floater.

  • Elon Musk

    so freaking bs man

  • cdblue10

    Just sit Kemba pls

  • LinMad

Heat getting so many calls now

  • zxcvb

Lin destroying Dragic whenever he’s on him.

  • LINSANITY

    FRANK THE TANK!

  • LINSANITY

Lin is showing the Rockets exactly what they missing rn lol

  • blubell
  • Michael

Yeah Dragic can’t do anything even with a hard screen.

  • sport

Kaminsky finally showing he’s a starter! On fire this game!

  • LinMad

    Lin, that’s a three….BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • blubell
  • Michael

that guy in 1st place should be retired, Lakers aren’t even in the playoffs.

  • Michael

    Lundberg for coach.

  • sport

They are rivals for sure, Dragic’s brother tweeted about Lin getting allstar votes cause of his race and that Dragic deserves to be allstar.

  • swijaya

Kemba is only shooting 3/14, but his assists is already at 6
No wonder CHA is leading …

    Teamball >>> ISO

  • Nolimitation

Despite the 17+ pts lead, I still cringe when Kemba still forces his way to the hoop for a brick

  • LinMad

more liek 2-3 separate screens for Dragic but Lin still gets on Dragic

  • JoeTeam

Jlin time hope he pays entire fourth

  • kauaiblue

they are winning despite walker… they should be winning by more!

  • Elon Musk

what does ISO stand for again?

  • cshot

bosh giving a nice greeting to jeremy!

  • LinMad

nope its because he has a big fan base. Not because of his race.

  • heart

Isolation play… Holding the ball and keep dribbling

  • LinMad

they are giving them so much ticky tack fouls

  • spiderman

    wary of Clifford

  • sport

Marvin doesn’t miss a 3 when he takes it does he?

  • sws94

    Linball.

  • Alain Gervais

    22222222

  • kauaiblue

    whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • blubell

    2222222222222222

  • Alain Gervais

    Wow he is fast

  • sws94

Lin puts it in 4th gear. He’s solved Miami.

  • LinMad

    THAT QUICKNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Michael

Man this is so classic Linsanity, Lin running the team and everyone playing to their potential.

  • cshot

    steps on the freaking accelerator!!!!!!

  • zxcvb

Lin TWISTING THE KNIFE. Great quarterbacking the offense and then the fastbreak layup.

Wade too damn slow to catch him.

  • sws94

    Kid is a Maserati.

  • LinMad

6th gear right there. Godzilla Nissan GTR mode.

  • LINSANITY

LIN is taking over.. this is the Hornets at their best.. no denying it anymore.. Clifford better wake up after this game

  • Rick Johnson

Hit the afterburners and left the whole field in the dust !!!! How beautiful !!

  • HVJoy

Lin is such a great facilitator that good plays happen from teammates when he plays PG!

  • I am The Jason

Lin was a blur. The offense is running so much better. Everyone is involved

  • David Ly

Bench Force One is pushing the 4th quarter into blowout status.

  • blubell
  • Sophie Paris

Need to win game 4 same now ;D

  • sws94

Linsanity all the way Michael. And you are watching the game sleeping, right? 🙂

  • sport

If Lin gets to star and play like this for rest of playoffs, Hornets might actually make it past 2nd round. So long as coach doesn’t let Kemba go iso mode and ices him out.

  • LINSANITY

Who said Heat would win in 4?

  • Elon Musk

    THIS IS SO FUN

  • LINSANITY

    Wheres Rick Bonnell ?

  • LinMad

how many timeouts has Lin made them call?

  • Howan Cheung

beautifull how he races to the basket while slicing through all defenders. Can’t wait to watch it back later

  • cdblue10

    Hahaha,I’m loving it!!’

  • NONONO

Last time Lin killed MIA by 1 pt, today he crashed them entire game (except during KW on the count)

  • Rick Johnson

Lin was supressed in last two games a having to play the role of delivery boy to Big Al. Moving Big Al to the starters and playing with Zeller Hawes has been great for his game.

  • Michael

I plea the fifth to that question.

  • Howan Cheung

    i counted two at least

  • cshot

watching on tnt overtime so not getting to hear charlottte feed. stephanie ready being forced to praise lin?

  • blubell
  • sport

Kaminisky catching fire also helps, draws attention away from Lin and puts pressure on defense.

  • Rick Johnson

This is the original BF1. Messed it up when Zeller went to the starters.

  • LinMad

yep, I knew if Lin was given a chance to play PG without Kemba/batum/Al, he would kill it.

  • blubell
  • Michael

    Lundberg for GM.

  • HVJoy

What an exciting game! 22 pts lead! love it.

  • DrewBear2

5 Hornets in double figures. Cody almost there. Everyone’s finally picking it up.

  • LinMad

    Ticky tack foul

  • blubell

    Commissioner lol

  • Rick Johnson

    Exactly

  • blubell

    assist

  • blubell

    steal

  • cdblue10

Headline:Clifford didn’t do so much to defend Lin at this time…Hornets won!!!!LOL!

  • JJ Hui

    Royal up Linsanity 2016!

  • LinMad

    Lin picked Wade

  • sws94

Just want Lin to get 2 more points for 20. Should be able to get that.

  • kauaiblue

    jeremy out??

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin sits. A little rest

  • swijaya

The CHA fans have been wrong all this time – who said that Batum is their max player??
It is very obvious whom is the game changer!!

Hope CHA can win a playoff series & JLin to start (somewhere) next season.

  • LinMad

Miami looks tired. They can’t play at this pace. Keep going !!

  • sws94

Right, and he can’t play D against Wade. Shutting people up today.

  • LINSANITY

Ok tell me why Clifford took Lin out.. he needs him to close the game

  • NONONO

    sure??

  • I am The Jason

Clifford better put Lin back in after a brief rest

  • LinMad

ummmm. why would Cliff bring back a slower pace team when Miami looks tired?

  • NONONO

    Clifford wants KW take credits

  • sport

Lin out too early. I’d laugh if Heat suddenly cuts the lead down with Walker in.

  • LINSANITY

ok its a 16 pt game.. dont mess around Coach

  • kauaiblue

    call a timeout… moron

  • cdblue10

    Clifford defending Lin right now…

  • LINSANITY

Clifford is a moron for real.. put Lin back in are you kidding me

  • Michael

If he lets the starters close the game that would be so disrespectful to Lin.

  • Rick Johnson

Jefferson is like a running back, run out the clock with repeated running plays.

  • zxcvb

This lead is even more impressive with 2 uncalled goaltends and zero 50/50 calls in Lin’s favor.

  • cshot

    why is lin out lmao

  • kauaiblue

he is miami’s defender of the game!

  • Alain Gervais

    needs a little rest

  • sws94

Really don’t want that to happen. Maybe Lin has short rest. Offense is not fluid with him out.

  • sport

Cliff: big lead, Lin out time for Kemba to take credit and stat pad.

  • cshot

this moron of a coach like does not know how to feed the hot hand and play your best player

  • David Ly

Better be a rest for Lin.

  • cdblue10

1st defensive man of the year

  • LinMad

If Cliff loses this lead. MJ will be super pissed. Might even fire him before game 4 lol

  • sport

He wasn’t in that long, you know it’s cause coach wants Kemba to get his points and take credit for the win.

  • takeme2cruz

If you pay attention, Lin can drive by anyone without screen but Dragic has to have one when Lin was on him.

  • spiderman

Best defender against Hornets is Clfford

  • Rick Johnson

No, want another losing streak ended due to Lin. LeBron, SAS, now their post season loss record. (0-11?) or 12?

  • Michael

Lol the team executing offense and defense like garbage now. At least Cliff knows to call a timeout and make ….well…probably no adjustments.

  • zxcvb

Dragic has had 3 (re)screens on every PnR on Lin. Still can’t score, lol.

  • Ben Johnson

You and I know, apparently NBA GM’s are ef-ing dumb and can’t figure it out

  • sport

Please, MJ is the reason why Walker is the hyped fake star, can’t have his cake and eat it too. Walker isn’t a star no matter what. Walker can’t even compare to fake star Harden who is a statue on defense.

  • LinMad

Take Al out, Keep Lin, Kemba, Frank, Hawes and Marvin. Make them run fast so they get tired. They won’t be ready on Monday if their muscles ache. They looked tired. Even Dragic looked tired.

  • LinMad

Dragic can’t even get away from Lin after 2-3 screens I saw this one time.

  • spiderman

Clifford is Miami’s best shot blocker

  • Cycloben

    Zzzzzzzzzz. Boring now.

  • cdblue10

So far Cliffordis is good by defending Lin at this time and Miami is catching up,good game for Clifford forHeat

  • sws94

    5 fouls on Whiteside.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup and only the suckers will buy what he’s selling

  • Rick Johnson

Whiteside 5 fouls.I hope Lin gets him the 6th.

  • jimmyL

So Lin is being punished again cool

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

WOW ITS THE REAL ELON MUSK

  • Elon Musk

    get whiteside out

  • kauaiblue

what is the point of walker?

  • LINSANITY

Well we all know it was bs when Clifford said Lin would play big big minutes

  • I am The Jason

Kemba complaining instead of trying to get the ball. Smh

  • LinMad

    Kemba getting blocked a lot

  • spiderman

He’s playing too well – can’t have that

  • kauaiblue

actually rooting for miami right now… sorry…

  • sws94

He played big in his minutes. He’ll be back.

  • Rick Johnson

Momentum and energy just deflated with Lin out.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

clifford trying to set up Kemba to get all of the credit but got BLOCKED!

  • Cycloben

Looks like Jeremy out for the night.

  • swijaya

6 Hornets already having double digits, while Lee is almost there …

  • jimmyL

Lin doesnt look happy on the bench

  • LinMad

If I were Cliff, I would bring in Lin, Troy, Lamb, Frank, MW and just shoot 3s the rest of the game while Lin facilitates.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Lin gave us enough cushion no worries

  • Alain Gervais

    Game is over

  • swijaya

    Great idea!!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba is just stat padding right now but ain’t working

  • takeme2cruz

    No more Lin

  • kauaiblue

this is outrageous… they don’t want to give jlin any credit or glory…

  • LINSANITY

Lin will have an even bigger game 4.. next one is going to be a close one so Hornets will need Lin for 48 minutes

  • cdblue10

Cliffraud is doing a good defensive play against Lin at this time.is he a Miami coach?

  • Cycloben

Typical Cliffraude, trying to give the V to Kemba.

  • kauaiblue

    walker sux…

  • Rick Johnson

    Spolstra waving the white flag

  • LinMad

    should bring in 3rd stringers

  • heart

Cliff better reinserts Lin in crunch time NOW!

  • zxcvb

Lin PUNISHED for outshining Scrub Kemba.

  • takeme2cruz

Why did KW shoot too soon? SMH

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

blatant stat padding and kemba promoting. so sick

  • Cycloben

Lol @ Walker stat padding but still not catching up to Jeremy.

  • kauaiblue

jlin and jlamb is a deadly combo… but clifford plays walker and benches both jlin and jlamb…

  • jimmyL

    Lin please leave charlotte
This is an insult at its finest

  • LINSANITY

Courtney Lee shot 3-10 for 8 pts but gets to play 40 minutes.. lol I dont get that logic his defense wasn’t better than Lin’s either

  • Nolimitation

At least use up the clock Kemba.

  • Cycloben

    Heave it up, Kembaq!!!

  • Alain Gervais

Game is over miami white flag

  • Michael

Spo looks worried. I would too if Lin….and Kemba interrupted my thoughts with another chucker.

  • Rick Johnson

Dragic and Wade already out. It’s garbage time but Walker still stat padding.

  • dave lam

Heats putting in their bench to close out

  • Alain Gervais

    Dam kemba 4-19

  • JJ Hui

CC why you bench Lin so long? The excitement all gone!

  • Briiick

When Lin is allowed to take 16 shots and facilitate, Hornets blow out Miami.

  • LINSANITY

Clifford wants to put his starting lineup out there so he can show the reporter’s that he didnt need to make adjustments

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i’m sorry but kemba and clifford are complete G__B_GE

  • LinMad

2 minutes left, just bring in the 3rd stringers lol

  • Cycloben

Hey someone gotta keep up with the illusion.

  • jimmyL

He did a good job on Wade and Lin cant really guard him

  • Rick Johnson

Walker needs one more point to catch up to Lin

  • kauaiblue

they dont want jlin to succeed to the level of his potential… it is perplexing… i can only conclude that race is a relevant factor… just like that video of the flagrant fouls shows, we need to have a video of his disparate and unfair discriminatory treatment!

  • Lam

No point bringing in Lin now. Keep him healthy and free from fluke injury.

  • LinMad

yep, tired of Hornets fans saying Lin needs to ask for the ball more. He’s out there doing his job, listening to his coach. It’s all a matter of whether Cliff wants him to attack or not. Lin is buried behind so many players.

  • jimmyL

Clifford does not respect Lin at all
Lin please dont even consider going back to this shythole

  • dave lam

Relax everyone. Game was over when Lin left the game

  • Briiick

    Which could take 3 shots.

  • Alain Gervais

    It was

  • Yascar

Thank you. Jeremy did his job.

  • kauaiblue

not really, there was plenty of time to make a run…

  • Rick Johnson

He will take 6 if he needs to

  • heart

What the heck???? Lin led the run, retained the lead, but is sitting on the bench in crunch time???

  • jimmyL

    Yep whats new

  • Alain Gervais

    Its not really crunch time

  • takeme2cruz

Not over but very well secured.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

we were right from day one. hate kemba and clifford

  • kauaiblue

walker, the self procalimed “leader,” has to get more points than jlin…

  • Nolimitation

Well Lin started the momentum of this game. At least he’s getting rest now. No way they can blow a 20 pt lead in 2 mins.

  • kauaiblue

next year, jlin gonna rip this team apart… lol

  • Lam

The Bugatti Veron is not required for final quarter.

  • BobbyH

A typical corporate shenanigan is present here on the court. You did most of the hard work and at the end it is the so called elite group took the credit.

  • Michael

Somebody doesn’t want someone on the Leaders of the game post game analysis.

  • heart

Approaching last 2-minute in 4Q is crunch time!

  • John Focker

Lin ripped Hornet apart last year, with lowly Lakers and Kobe shackle.

  • LinMad

Cliff takes no credit for this win. It was Batum’s injury that allowed this to happen.

  • John Focker

Better this way, save energy for the next game.

  • sport

Cliff smiling cause Kemba got his 17 points and will take credit for the win.

  • cdblue10

Cliffraud should be the one being DNP’ed next game,I REALLY HATE THIS COACH.NO SHAME AT ALL!!!

  • LinMad

They should be running the clock down…now it’s getting closer.

  • I am The Jason

Kemba won’t. This was all Lin and Kaminsky

  • Alain Gervais
  • DaBoss

    Typical Clifford. smh.

  • Weifang

it’s about court-side interview I think. The first playoff win in their history, they don’t want to interview Lin.

  • grover chang

Even TNT commentators accidently made a key point. With batum injury, Cliff forced to make adjustments.

  • LinMad

sit Kemba already, i don’t want to see Frank or Kemba outscore Lin.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! But he finally got 17 pts. Should ask them all out

  • DaBoss

    Thanks to our boy Jlin!

  • CJSHYY

    Me too.

  • Michael

    Then they should interview Batum..

  • Lam

lol, I thought this site does not allow name calling. Rules must have changed for playoffs.

  • sport

Cause Walker got to stat pad due to the 20 point lead for his 17 points and got the court side interview to take credit!

  • LinMad

Hornets no respect for Lin. If it was Batum instead of Lin who had most points, they would have interviewed Batum.

  • Ben Johnson

It’s not about winning, it’s about padding Jeremy’s numbers instead of anyone else’s. I’m glad he got to rest when the game was safely won. It’s grueling out there and every little bit counts. There are many more games to go if they can keep this up.

  • Alain Gervais

he made maybe 1 shot. 4 all game. He didn’t really stat pad

    BROOKLIN-SANITY

  • LinMad

    he owns the name now.

  • zxcvb

Cliff will say that they won because the defense was better. But the truth is that the defense was better because the offense was better. And the offense was better because of Lin.

Even in 26 measly minutes, Lin facilitated way more movement (18 assists despite major garbage time) than Kemba and Batum in their two games combined. This got guys like Frank and Marvin going, even Hawes was into it. And suddenly guys were making defensive plays they never made last week.

You could also see Miami getting exhausted with a Lin-led offense constantly running and passing and cutting. Too bad Cliff and Kemba will go back to Loser Ball in Game 4.

  • blubell
  • sport

Gosh can’t believe Lin only played 26 minutes to beat the Heat with 18pts! Imagine if he got Walker’s 41 minutes games! he’d get 30-40 points!

  • I am The Jason

It means that Lin gets paid if Linsanity is used

  • LinMad

or even just Lee’s minutes. Like swap minutes with Lee.

    on tshirts and stuff.

  • sport

Except coach won’t let that happen even gave Lee 41 minutes for some games.

  • takeme2cruz

    Corruption in US politic.

  • zxcvb

That was great. I was more impressed by the “hockey assists” he got before that. Just unglamorous smart basketball to get guys like Frank involved. Push it, swing it, move it…doesn’t matter who scores.

  • kittyhead

    This is our boy!!

  • HVJoy

  • DaBoss

  • zxcvb

My predictions from 3 days ago. Didn’t start but he got the ball.
Hopefully, I’ll be wrong about Game 4 but I doubt it.

    https://disqus.com/home/discussion/jlinportal/the_heat_scorched_the_hornets_selfish_offense_again_lin_aggressive_in_limited_role/#comment-2634787519

Game 3: Hornets win with Lin starting at SG. He gets the ball just
enough to create ball movement, involve teammates and boost defensive
intensity (guys don’t defend hard when they’re frozen out on offense).

Game 4: Hornets lose a close one with Kemba trying “take back” his
spotlight. He shoots 25 attempts, comes up short as he always does
    against top teams.

  • LinMad

Lin deserves more credit for these records being broken. Not 20% shooting Kemba.

  • LinMad

looks accurate cause Kemba did poorly today with his shooting so I think he will try his best to hit over 20 pts next game on 25 attempts. What kemba did right today was he shared the ball a little more than he usually does. He had to cause Batum wasn’t on the floor.

  • DrewBear2

Good luck collecting on that in 80% of the planet. I doubt he’s really interested in promoting Linsanity anytime soon, maybe after he retires.

  • sport

If that happens, Lin better be smart and look for his shots and rebounds to keep Walker from ball hogging. Don’t listen to Cliff the the Kemba stat padder about passing the ball to Walker! Last game of the season anyway!

  • pandaboy99

Lin just led the hornets to theur first playoff victory in years. Just like beating lebron

  • Guest

Why complain , Hornets is saving their best player for the next game.
Keep Lin healthy and rested and there will be hope to beat the Heat.

  • LinMad

that’s what some people have said all season but there’s a time when you have to question whether Cliff is saving him for rest or just doing it so he doesn’t shine too hard.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

there’s always an excuse to wrong Lin

  • Linzen

Again, Lin for the WIN!!!!! ☝️😎

  • Steppen03

Bottom line: All I want is JL7 to put into position to win games. And CCliff & Walker did that tonight. Good team win!!! Happy for Frank Kam and Zeller – they did good.

  • sport

lol “saving their best player” the only thing they were saving was Kemba from looking insignificant by allowing him to stat pad during garbage time without Lin on the floor!

  • David Ly
  • Yura Mun

I’m not surprised.. Kemba is the star player of the team :/ Not sure why everyone’s so upset over it. They’re obviously not going to take away Kemba from shining in his own team… I actually like Kemba. He plays team ball, doesn’t he? Lin is just way better but he’s not the star. Kemba is. So we should just accept it!! and be happy.

  • zxcvb

Because Hornets aren’t even giving Lin props for saving them yet again. Lin deserves the spotlight going into free agency but Clifford is doing everything he can to keep Lin’s stats, minutes and attention down.

Pathetic behavior. This garbage happens all the time in the NBA, though. It’s only slightly more real than WWF.

  • HVJoy

Shag praised Lin’s performance at halftime and asked, ” Lin, where have you been?” in G1 and G2.

Shag should ask Clifford where/why has he hidden Lin in G1 and G2.

  • Nolimitation

Of course we know Cliff can’t allow Lin to shine to hard, so might as well take advantage of the rest.

  • sport

That’s exactly what Cliff and Mchale does to Lin, bench him when he’s scoring well and the lead is sealed; let their fake star pad stats.

  • zxcvb

Wade is like: “I ain’t even gonna try…” Lin was just too fast.

  • DaBoss

  • CJSHYY

  • HVJoy

1st playoff Win since May 2002!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How many minutes Lin played in the crucial quarter, the 2nd and 3rd quarter? That’s when Lin got his most minutes.
Once the game was decided, Clifford couldn’t wait to bench Lin.
Of course, Lin deserves more minutes but he would be gone next season, and Clifford has been taking this into consideration in giving him minutes.
As long as winning is on the line, Clifford will give Lin the minutes otherwise Clifford would rather give the minutes to Kemba, Batum, Kaminsky.
No doubt that Lin is the best player of this game.

In the first two games, Clifford simply played Kemba and Batum too much. That’s why they lost the games.

  • xeroid

Lin not only perform offensively and helped Marvin and Frank to perform and boost their confidence, he also shut down Dragic.

  • Yascar

I know right? He’s leaving this team anyway. He’s won a play off game. Cliff is cliff and Kemba and Kemba. Why are we ruining the joy of a win with all this complaining? Don’t get this board sometimes.

  • Yura Mun

Yea, why does Lee get so many minutes? I never understood why he’s a starter.

  • LinMad

Frank Kaminsky is #2 and Kemba Walker is ……#14. Hornets FO seriously needs to think about their future franchise stars.

  • HVJoy

With all due respect, I hope you are wrong about G4.

I hope for another win, so there will be more Lin games to behold.

  • sport

Next game is Monday, definitely won’t watch if Kemba goes iso mode and Lin is relegated to corner again which will most likely happen. Shaq asked where Lin has been previous 2 games, duh what do you expect when he’s not playing PG with little minutes, while Kemba’s putting on a chuckfest.

  • Guest

Somebody please tweet to Shaq to ask Clifford where has he hidden Lin in G1 and G2.

  • zxcvb

That’s the Lin Effect. It’s never just about him. It’s about the team.

He even passes to guys who are cold (like Lee). Let’s them know he’s gonna keep finding them. Keeps those players happy and active on defense.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

is Kemba the player of the game? LMAO

  • Lam

Why did the Miami No2 just let Lin by?

  • Michael

  • David Ly

The video is spreading! Seeing it across multiple news sources.

  • sport

Lin got some calls against Dragic and made him frustrated, also did well against Wade, picked his pocket one time.

  • cshot

is it strange that im angry after a great jeremy lin performance? F@CK this team man. Do their absolute best to steal the spotlight from Jeremy

  • David Ly

It would have been a foul.

  • LinMad

yep. Lin was the x-factor this game. Frank played well too. But Lin was the x-factor for all 3 games but wasn’t used enough. Game 2 looked like Lin was about to go super saiyan first half but Cliff squashed it quickly with his lame set rotations. Every time Lin was in for game 2, we were making a run and closing the gap.

  • Lam

    OK thanks.

  • HVJoy

I would do it had I a Twitter account. 🙁

  • zxcvb

Welp, ESPN’s boxscore has Lin as Top Performer, so that’ll be the “Player of the Game” on record.

  • Yascar

If you really want my opinion, yes. Ignore me otherwise.

  • CJSHYY

No need to care about that… they probably tried so hard finally made him to play more team ball today. It’s not mean anything.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

no gratitude towards the one person who plays his heart out. they should be kissing his feet!

  • sport

Remember if Batum didn’t go down, Lin would’ve never gotten his minutes as PG even without starting and it would be 3-0 series now!

  • cshot

ha ill try not to make any comments on your opinion

  • sport

So did Lin come off the bench still this game?

  • LinMad

Not only Dragic but he made it difficult for Wade too on some of the possessions. Even picked the ball from him once.

  • Alain Gervais

I don’t get why you are angry

  • Nolimitation

Listening the post game conference. Not mentioning Lin much. Cliff thought crowd was great. I could of sworn they were booing a little from the 3rd qtr mark before Lin came in to set the momentum.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

  • Yascar

    Thanks

  • cdblue10

Not even a single word about Lin from Cliffraud and their reporters…F this organization.

  • zxcvb

Nope. Lin still had to come off the bench and only played 26m.

Meanwhile an ice-cold Kemba is there to statpad after Lin saves the day. If Kemba is so good, then why not rest him and let the “bench scrub” play garbage time?

Maybe if CHA traded Kemba. There were some “insider” rumors about Excel Sports Management wanting bigger roles for Kemba (and Al). Or else trade him. Looks like Charlotte made their decision.

And it’s the wrong one. Oh boy, are they in trouble next season…

  • Michael

In my humble opinion it may partially be that Lin doesn’t want to take credit for it. Always team first.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

not smart Spo. should be playing chess and say Kemba was the bomb especially his isolation in game 2

  • cdblue10

Yep.SPO spoke more about Lin compare to this fack organization

  • HVJoy

Ironically, Heats coach mentioned Lin in his NBA postgame interview. He said Lin and Kam gave Hornets a big boost in game.

  • LinMad

no duh, he’s not going to play for $2 mln again. That is way below his value.

  • Michael

Marvel decided to scrap that comic.

  • DaBoss

Yup – he’s gonna start somewhere and no more Asian discount!

  • Alain Gervais

He is all the post game tweet has he pic and points.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Exactly! Signing for opting out.

  • zxcvb

Everyone talking about (near)max for Conley. 10M for Delly (lol) and Bazemore. Meanwhile, everyone would be outraged if the Asian guy who beats the Spurs, Raps, Cavs and Heat got more than 8M.

  • Yascar

It was a great game for Lin indeed. He’s got this play-off thing down pat. Very poised, no nerves, just did his thing. I’m like you, just happy he did so well.

  • Michael

Must be all that gamma radiation.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i think the FO can still change their plans if they’re smart cus now they’re gonna lose Lin who is the obvious better choice

  • Alain Gervais

Lin is getting praise still we won 1 game they won 2. He is 1 on nba pulse. all the pick on the game has his picture. Lin is getting big praise for this. Still. Overall we have to make the series competitive first before he gets a ton of praise. On to game 4

  • Yascar
  • LinMad

Also refs seem to be giving him a fair share of calls even though they still miss a lot of them. If GMs knew that, they would want Lin on their team.

  • HVJoy

As usual, the opposing team coach praised Lin in his postgame interview.
Spo said Lin and Kam gave Hornets a big boost in game.

  • LinMad

I always listen to the opponent’s coaches more than Lin’s coach. They know what is really going on.

  • CJSHYY

That’s correct answer for this game. Spo gave credits to Lin and Kaminsky

  • cdblue10

I get that part but it’s always the best player that suppose to have the recognition to be interviewed after the game

  • sport

    1. Lin didn’t get to start even with Batum out
    2. only got 26 bench player minutes
    3. Kemba got to stat pad with the 20 pt lead to get his 17 pts almost overtook Lin’s score if Cliff didn’t take him out during garbage time.
    4. Lin should get the court side interview but coach let Walker get it instead to take credit for the win
Cable turns off during Walker’s interview cause everyone knows what’s up. Lin’s a star player and only reason why this team is even in playoffs! No way Batum the injured prone or Walker the ball chucker could’ve made this happen!

  • I am The Jason

MJ and Ewing had to tell Clifford to post up Kaminsky. He should have done that many games ago.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i guess the other superheros became superzeros fighting along side kembaman..

  • cshot

lol ill keep my frustrations to myself next time. wrong for me to think venting out my opinions on here was ok.

  • zxcvb

Even based on his raw stats as a backup SG, he serves 10M under the new cap.

When any basketball knowledge is applied and you look at his stats as starter, or when he gets 15+ shots, he deserves Dragic’s ridiculous contract. Younger than Goran was too.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With 76ers competing, Lin’s contract would go up.
Lin is simply too good for them to give up. They would never have any chance to land a PG of Lin’s caliber in the near future.

  • DrewBear2

ESPN: “Miami started off Game 3 similar to the previous two, with Deng hitting four 3-point attempts in the first six minutes for an early 20-15 lead.

But Charlotte withstood the early Heat assault and took the lead near the end of the first quarter behind eight points from Lin, who found his way to the basket repeatedly and drew a second foul on Whiteside.

Kaminsky gave the Hornets a spark in the third quarter with 11 points, including two spin moves against Wade and a turnaround jumper over Joe Johnson. Lin followed with a 3-pointer from the right wing to push the lead to 14, raising the fans clad in black “Enter the swarm” T-shirts and white Hornets headbands off their seats.

The Hornets would push the lead to 24 in the fourth quarter with Lin scoring and creating off the fast break.”

  • kauaiblue

    the self proclaimed “leader!”

  • HVJoy

Great! Well deserved recognition for Lin!

  • zxcvb

That’s another reason fans should not be alarmed by Lin saying, “I might come back to the Hornets!” That’s necessary for contract negotiation — maximize options and interest.

  • Michael

True true, that’s why I say partially, cause he totally deserved it this game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The best summary of the game so far.

  • heart

    1. This NBA League and Hornets are trying their hardest to NOT give Jeremy Lin any credit or spotlight for leading this Hornets’ 1st win after 14 years. NOT ONE question from any reporters about Lin to either Cliff or Spo in post game interviews.
    2. Cliff: Said MJ & Patrick Ewing.asked him to let Kamisky post up; so he complied. Cliff also mentioned Pat Riley.
    3. Cliff credits win on defense, organization, intensity, discipline.
    4. Spo: Gave credit to Lin (voluntarily) and Kam. Even though the reporter ONLY asked about Kam. SMH!

Spo >>>> Cliff. He’s really proving himself as a coach w/o Lebron.

He’s not elite like Pop or even Stevens, but he’s so far ahead of Cliff, who doesn’t even KNOW why he won this game. I respect/hate Spo for smartly trying to hammer Lin on repeated hard screens in the second half.

Every Dragic PnR was screen, re-screen, re-re-screen on Lin.

  • LinMad

Ugh, I’m going to avoid this cause I know it’s going to be something like “Kemba had a big game with 17 points and 7 assists. KEMBA KEMBA KEMBA”

CHA knows Jlin is gone. No way he’s gonna stay.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Hornets shot poorly, 38.9% field goal % and only 278% in 3 pointers, but it’s still a blow out with Lin leading the team in scoring.
Figure what the score would be if his teammates shot better. It would be a complete blow out.

  • kauaiblue

4-19! 20% shooting… what does walker do for this team again?

I doubt Batum would team up with Lin, he wants to be the man of his own team. But staying or not won’t make a difference, Batum isn’t a star player and won’t get a ring. He’s a solid starter but is injury prone now.

  • Bauer

    Bc of no Lin

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Next season, the Hornets would be a joke when Lin’s gone. To win with Kemba will become the worst joke in NBA.
They forgot to mention Kemba shot 4 out of 19, 1 out of 6 in 3 points range in this game. That’s why Lin was benched or else Kemba stats would be utterly pathetic without those minutes when the game was decided.

  • Briiick

Conclusion: they don’t want to win, they want KW.

  • kauaiblue

dont even bother… you would think that organizations want advertising revenue, but they ignore jlin and thus don’t get any views… in fact, we go to the opposing team’s feeds… lol

  • zxcvb

Even with Kemba chucking like a fool, the offense was so balanced. SIX players in double figures and a cold-shooting Lee had 8. More guys involved means more defensive intensity since they’re locked in and active.

NO ONE likes to stand around watching Kemba get all the shots and glory while they do the dirty work.

  • HVJoy

Well said! I agree with you entirely.

I can see Marks waffling on Lin. “He’s a good backup. Is he really as good as you and D’Antoni say?”

Why’s it so difficult to have your leading scorer on the podium?
Kemba sounds like he is shooting the bull eyes out but he was 4 out of 19 and only making all shots out of 4 fouls for 8 points on the FT line. Totally Kemba scored 17 points in 19 shots in 36 minutes.

  • zxcvb

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba should be happy cus that’s his number

  • LinMad

Well that’s pretty much all I wanted. One game where Lin can score fast and play well. This season is complete for me, win or lose. I do want to see Lin get 41 minutes though like Lee does. Just for one game to see if Lin can hit 30 pts and win game 4 or 5.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

was he saying Lin disappeared in the first two games or was he saying they didn’t go to him much in the first two games?

  • sws94

He said Lin, where you’ve been. And then said he looked like a starter and he’s capable of playing like that any time.

  • LinMad

    Cliff’s doghouse

  • cshot

i couldn’t agree anymore dude. lilke every single one of your comments is like what my head is saying. hahaa lets hope for that 30pt game 4 and 5

  • sws94

Lol, no. Lamb is in Cliff’s doghouse. Lin plays.

  • LinMad

I think Shaq blames it on Lin’s inconsistency but he doesn’t know that it’s inconsistency of role, not player.

  • DaBoss

Sounded like he thought Lin needed to step it up. I tweeted Shaq to say Lin’s been chained to the bench by Cliff and teammates freezing him out.

  • sport

15 mil per year right? Still too little, 15 mil contract for a few years would be peanuts especially with new tv deal. Parsons is making 40mil for 3 years right? Lin should get way more than that!

  • james brown

no, he was asking hornets team where did they hide lin…LOL!

  • DaBoss

You’re right. He doesn’t know what we know.

  • LinMad

that would blow Lin’s value up even more. If we beat the series too because of it. Dragic’s 17 mln will look like Lin’s salary next year.

  • Nolimitation

As long as the tank commander is there, doubt it.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin played only 26 minutes and Lee played 42 minutes shooting 3 out of 11 scoring 8 points 3 rebounds 2 assists and 1 TO. Lin scored game high 18 points in 26 minutes 4 rebounds 4 assists 1 steal and no TO.

  • james brown

he was telling before that horets to win, lin must be there scoring!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

in that case, we should tell him Dwight has massive chocolate shoulders compared to him

  • sws94

I have a different much more positive take. I think Shaq is saying Lin is the difference maker on the team in if they win or lose. If he performs well, that is a boost to the team. Shaq has high standards for Lin and thinks he can impose his will on the game whenever he wants to. Shaq is not a he didn’t get the ball type of player. He’s a go get the ball and play your game type of player so that’s the context of his comments.

  • DaBoss

    Lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lamb is going to his $21M contract for 3 years anyway to his least worry.

  • LinMad

When you compare the stats it’s obvious who needs more minutes.

  • sws94

Not playing shows coach doesn’t trust you. Money isn’t everything.

  • Michael

Shaq isn’t exactly the guy who does his homework, so he probably doesn’t know that Lin only took a limited amount of shots in the first 2 games. but at least he does point out that Lin is the key to the Hornets playoff success.

  • sport

It will be a long series if Lin gets to lead more next game but fat chance with Cliff making sure Kemba get to stat pad and Lin not outshining.

  • DaBoss

Too bad Cliff doesn’t know that.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

If there is any place to hide the leading scorer of the game, Jeremy, they would have done so..

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i guess Shaq thinks Lin is a star and should demand the ball like one. if that’s the case, he’d agree with him. but a part of me thinks Shaq is like everyone else and trying to diminish Lin

  • DaBoss

Lin can’t impose his will when Cliff refuses to let him play more minutes and when teammates freeze him out. They couldn’t do that in this game.

  • Lam

Should be Kaminsky and Lin. NBA trying to marginalise the Tank.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Comparing there stats and minutes, you would have laughed.

  • heart

NBA TV guys are avoiding talking about Lin right now. Mentioning his name haphazardly, nonchalantly, SMH!

  • sws94

Most points on the team, changed the momentum as soon as he came in off the dribble drive and scoring, ran the offense great, shut down Dragic and frustrated him. He made his minutes count and he was the top scorer on the Hornets.

Four Years After #Linsanity, Hornets PG Jeremy Lin Quietly Thriving On Social Media
    http://www.forbes.com/sites/markjburns/2016/04/23/four-years-after-linsanity-hornets-pg-jeremy-lin-quietly-thriving-on-social-media/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter#540a0f04f792

Who is the top NBA player on YouTube in terms of subscribers and views?

When Kyle Nelson walks into a boardroom to pitch a prospective client about his social intelligence and analytics company, MVPindex, chances are that no one can answer the above icebreaker; in fact, that has never happened to the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of the Dallas-based company.

Screen Shot 2016-04-23 at 1.04.29 PM

It’s been over four years since the #Linsanity movement, Jeremy Lin’s rise to national prominence as a player for the New York Knicks. The five minutes of fame on the hardwood quickly came and went for the current Charlotte Hornets point guard, but what has quietly remained is his social influence.

“Jeremy loves living in social,” said Nelson, adding that Lin touts 535,000-plus subscribers on YouTube along with 53 million video views. “… He enjoys giving full access to his fans, and that kind of personality on social and that openness gets rewarded. Fans see it, they follow it, and they engage in it.”

According to MVPindex, which calculates athletes’ follower counts, engagement and online sentiment into an index score, Lin currently ranks in the top five among NBA players, with the likes of James, recently-retired star Kobe Bryant and 2015 MVP, Stephen Curry.

After signing with the Golden State Warriors in 2010, Lin received about a thousand ‘Friend’ requests to his personal Facebook page overnight, and his then-agent, Roger Montgomery, immediately created a Twitter account. Little did the Harvard graduate know that his journey into the social space was just beginning. Still, it took some initial prodding and urging from a college buddy and personal trainer, Josh Fan, for Lin to give it a chance.

The two met through mutual friends during their undergraduate days in Boston and have remained close ever since — literally. Wherever Lin has traveled in the NBA, Fan has followed, splitting time between basketball trainer and social strategist.

At the outset of their digital expedition, Fan recognized the growing popularity of two celebrity YouTubers, Ryan Higa and Kevin Wu, and suggested that they start there.

“We enjoyed their content ourselves and naturally, we gravitated towards them,” Fan said of Higa and Wu. “…Our initial strategy was to meet with them, and jumpstart Jeremy’s social media presence and see if he was comfortable behind the camera. Through that process, it opened Jeremy’s eyes to the world of social media and the reach you could have on social.”

Added Lin: “You’re removing some of the barriers behind your public life and your private life. As I was becoming a little more known among the public, it scared me that I might lose my privacy. I also don’t think I was comfortable in front of cameras for a very long time. The one thing I loved about social media is you control the product and what comes out. I am not saying anything through a reporter, and then he or she writes what they want to write. With social media, I can write what I want when I want to write it.”

With a trusted friend behind the camera, Lin initially created two separate YouTube videos with Wu and Higa, garnering close to eight million views.

He saw the early social success in the Fall of 2011 and finally was sold on what Fan had been telling him for a year straight. The two now live in the same Charlotte complex and constantly discuss ways to leverage Lin’s presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and other channels.

So, what’s been the social strategy for Lin and Fan, who has taught himself on the fly how to edit videos, create engaging copy and operate in the digital ecosystem?

Plain and simple, it’s posting content that they would want to consume themselves. There’s a “Christian element” to a lot of what Lin posts, whether it’s a faith verse, a moral cause he supports or a particular value he strives to exhibit in his daily life.

Each week, the duo plans a content calendar around Lin’s practice and game schedule. Regardless if it’s Lin or Fan actually sending a Tweet or creating an Instagram post, Lin is always dialed into the conversation about how he presents himself online.

Screen Shot 2016-04-23 at 2.19.31 PM

    (via Jeremy Lin/Instagram).

Scroll through his Instagram — where he is among the top 30 most-followed NBA players — and there are more traditional photos with fans and ‘Throwback Thursday’ images with family members. Conversely, Lin sports his unique hairstyles, gives fans a behind-the-scenes look into his workout regiment and even documents his grocery shopping on hoverboards with, yes, Fan still behind the camera filming.

In mid-March, Lin joined Snapchat, a platform tailored to real-time, quick-hitting images and videos. The millennial-dominated channel allows Lin to hit a younger audience and be more freewheeling.

For someone who was weary about pulling back the curtain on his life, Lin has now gone “full tilt” on social.

“It’s important to show who I am off the court,” Lin said. “Society is so quick to assume things about who you are. People see my demeanor on the court, they see an Asian guy from Harvard, and they assume a lot of different things. Who I am off the court, a lot of people would be surprised by those things. Part of why I am more understood or part of why my brand is more in line with my personality is because we have been able to push out the more off-the-court side through social media.”

  • Win

So Happy for Lin. As I said, JLin make his teammate better and then it carry over to defensive, the Lin will be turn on his Linsanity gear and crush the Hornets!!!

I went to dinner and now I need JUN LIN Highlight asap!!!

  • LinMad

    crush the Heat you mean?

  • Win

    I meants crushed the Heats!!!

  • BobbyH

Cliff: Mission accomplished. Now let’s get back to ISO and stats pad. 2 more games.

And I hope I can keep saying 2 more games till game 7. Because that means Lin has 2 more Linsanity games.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

addition by subtraction. as long as Lin is unchained, they win

  • sport

Not passionate enough to make Lin the man of his team over his chosen one.

  • grover chang

    Amen.

  • DaBoss

What a difference from the Rockets bench the other night – LOL

  • LinMad

as long as MJ on courtside, he has to allow Lin to play his game. No hero ball.

  • Win

Yea. Haha. Too happy and I cant even type right now. Look forward to game 4 and Clifford please let Lin run the offense pls pls pls!

  • JoeTeam

    or shoot threes

  • grover chang

My guess is Nick now really understands perseverance when being marginalized by your own team. In that regards, Lin’s faith, attitude, and ability to still produce is inspiring.

  • Nolimitation

Hopefully Cliff will allow Linsanity breakout at Miami. This way it shows he can win anywhere.

  • grover chang

Team records seem to fall wherever Lin goes.

  • sport

Then MJ should’ve been there since game 1

  • Alain Gervais

    thx lol

  • kauaiblue

either that or he is not that bright…

  • Alain Gervais

    Batum on one leg cheering

  • Kwok Wai Lai

yet Lin is the leading scorer taking 3 shots less than Kemba and 10 minutes less play time.

  • kauaiblue

of course, he is the owner…

  • TTNN

was about to say that….. LOL

  • JoeTeam

gg by lin. cliff should have given lin longer run in 4th.

  • BobbyH

If the game is close, I am still skeptical Cliff will let Lin close.

  • Win

I am loving it. JLin really have some good teammate this year. Too bad Clifford won’t let Lin run the offense much much more often…

  • grover chang

He goes through spells where he has a lot of gigs and is too busy.

  • sport

Nick again? Two Lin related post in day by an ex teammate during playoffs, that’s a first for Lin! If his contract is up this season he should really reunite with Lin Nick Young has such a positive and fun personality. I like him way more than the fake Kemba! Compare Young’s fun loving reaction for Lin during post interview against Kemba’s jealousy. I never saw Young purposely stat pad or chuck shots just cause Lin was shooting well.

  • Win

They were really friend during Lin Lakers days. Young, wayne ellington and Lin did a hilarious on one of the Lakers media day or something.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • LinMad

maybe he will follow them to Miami in game 5 and 6

  • Win

Agreed. Even Young is a ISO player. But Lin have said it before, a team do need a player like that sometime. They were really friend with each other when Lin was with the Lakers.

    $*&)#&$ Byron Scott

  • heart

    NOTE:
    1. Lin only got 26minutes of play tonight and yet Hornets still won w/ a big lead.
    2. Why? Lin was allowed to play PG in 2Q. Led the the bench on a run, got the lead and maintained the lead, even though KW almost got them into a hole again.
    3. Team ball was in effect. KW had to share pg duty and play making w/ Lin.
    4. Lin has helped made Hornets history again, 1st Playoff win since 2002.

  • kauaiblue

    what is he talking about??

  • kauaiblue

nick young good in my book!

  • BobbyH

    Game 5 and 7

  • JoeTeam
  • sport

Lin will close but it will be Kemba ball. Cliff only uses Lin to cover for Kemba on defense.

  • JoeTeam

rox bench hated it when harden won over gsw. lots of vid on that

  • kauaiblue

    jlin is the man…

  • JoeTeam

lin just iced it in his rotation just as barkley said should be done due to kw ball.

  • sport

Surely game against Cavs and Spurs are enough. If not this playoff game should but many times it’s really ego over winning. Kemba was his pick so he will be promoted as fake star no matter what.

  • CJSHYY

    From this from Chinese news.

Cliff said MJ & Ewing all said we should let Frank more ISO… Cliff said I will do that for Frank.

  • LinMad

I’m actually glad no one got into a scuffle this game even though Heat were trying to get under some of the players skin and be physical. I think it was Dragic trying to punk Kemba. He said something to Kemba and pushed him with his left arm. I wonder why Dragic didn’t do that to Jeremy Lin? Cause he knows Lin has a lot of fans and would probably be super pissed. I think there was another close scuffle from one of their bigs, forgot who it was (Whiteside?)

  • JoeTeam

    fake … bev, parsons, … real – toney d, daniels, nyk, …

  • james brown

change their coach to MDA and change their game plan and i am ok for jlin to stay at hornets, but if not, sixers or nets and other team who will give jlin their starting pg with no trade clause will be great!

  • TTNN

Kemba need all the ball to get a chance to sit in the media room together with Lin, so Lin need to sit…

  • LinMad

did he really say that to the press?

  • your son’s legendary voltaire
  • Phoenix Rising

    Loving this interview by Wade.

    https://youtu.be/EfR_SPzcz-8

  • TTNN

I think so, saw couple of tweets about it.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t know bc I didn’t watch his post game interview.. this is from Chinese News…

  • sport

Yes Whiteside vs Zeller and Zeller pushed him after he said something and the ref pushed Whiteside away. Refs were quick to split people up this game.

  • CJSHYY

I think he will replace Zeller as starting C next season. MJ always like the player he drafted.

  • Ben Johnson

tired of JLin being referred to as a role player…how many “role players” are the MVP of their team’s 3 biggest regular season wins, and only playoff win???

  • Alain Gervais

He also said Lin is dynamic

  • Briiick

Let the drought return next season.

  • Phoenix Rising

    That’s nba terminology for you… :-/
Wait for 6 more months please.

  • pandaboy99

Doesn’t matter what lins mins were today, only thing matters is that lin showed he Wil be the biggest free agent pg this season

  • kauaiblue

agreed. didnt like that at all… jlin is a starter and star… and this while being held back… give him the keys and watch out…

  • CJSHYY

    He should.

  • JoeTeam

cool, wade. you guys adjust and stop jlin going right. that speedy coast to coast was going left then right to shield the chase.

  • james brown

and that will compound their problem!!!

  • DaBoss

His discreet way of supporting his hometown team – LOL

  • grover chang

I would not say Young is viewed negatively off the court. Although Young cheated on his fiancé. He has come clean as the good guy, the wrong party amongst NBA teams. The Bro Code was broken. Off the court Young is a sympathetic hero.

Maybe Young is tweeting praise more for Lin because after this season he knows what a true friend is.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • jimmyL

well you gotta prove it with stats
    11-3-3 still isnt a star

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Good. LOL! I really don’t think Frank is as good as they thought bc he was vs Deng today not Whiteside in 3Q…

  • james brown

goot they only remember the right but forget jeremy can also hit them to the left..thety will be surprise come next game!

like i said before, until game is decided, its still a ballgame and best team win.

  • GameWatcher

don’t need more injury. It was not a close game so take a day off

  • CJSHYY

Like the title. It’s National media need to RT it. LOL!

  • Briiick

    Click click click…Click click click…Click click click…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOL That’s why I did. The title said it all. National media gives credit to JLin but Hornets….. We all know the story.

  • JFirst

    Haha i like this:

“Looking to combat the Heat’s height advantage on the perimeter, Hornets coach Steve Clifford moved Williams to small forward – in place of the injured Nicolas Batum – and inserted Kaminsky and Al Jefferson into the starting lineup.

It didn’t help early on …

But Charlotte withstood the early Heat assault and took the lead near the end of the first quarter behind eight points from Lin, who found his way to the basket repeatedly and drew a second foul on Whiteside.

  • JoeTeam

yes for lin FA, yes. but for game flow, 2nd unit leader, esp if he did it, should extend the lead to garbage time unit.

  • sport

That’s exactly Lin’s dilemma, won’t stat pad and look out for himself over team ball. If Lin was more selfish he’d average 20+ and shoot more when the designated star/fake star is ball hogging. Yet instead he listens to the coach and gives the ball to Kemba even after getting a tough rebound!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

That’s why I posted the link:-)

  • Win
  • james brown

but they need to give him his rhythm if they want to win more games!

  • jimmyL

Unfortunately thats what role players do

  • CJSHYY

Who cares about that local media. smh! Since Lin still needs Kemba for playoff so I will take it. LOL!

  • LinMad

    local media = no love

    national media = love

new york media = making love in bed

  • DaBoss

He won’t be one for much longer so no worries

  • JoeTeam

next game! gsw can guard harden’sleft and neutralize him. if they try that on lin, he’ll surprise them with tape to review.

  • CJSHYY

    Exactly. Haha!

  • Win

I really wish Batum out for the rest of 1st round. Come back in 2nd round the earliest pls….

  • sport

No he just doesn’t want to go against his own values just to get his stats. Lin believe in playing the right way, teamball.

  • CJSHYY

Wade said Lin is a role player?

  • jimmyL

    great
Batum wants to pad stats he wants to get some credit or doesnt want people saying Hornets better w/o him

  • LinMad

i’d rather see MKG back than Batum

  • jimmyL

needs a coach who lets him play his game

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • jimmyL

    gotta be selfish sometimes

  • sport

Question is 76ers needs to make MDA head coach quick before Nets’ coach who helped Lin during Knicks & LInsanity signs him. MDA as the head coach is their only chip to get Lin. Also boils down to who gives Lin more money, because in NBA more money means more respect for the player.

  • kauaiblue

    no way… awesome… lol

  • LinMad

what if MDA quits 76ers and joins Nets as assistant coach? That would be awesome

  • Win

Guys. Batum is not bad bur Clifford put him in a wrong role. There only one guy can really run the offense in Hornets and that’s JLIN!!!

  • BobbyH

Has to be back. Double the timetable. So it is still questionable.

  • grover chang

I love when Lin’s teammates get caught in the wave and play really well. The excitement on their faces is sooo Linsanity.

  • I am The Jason

Nick Young can’t wait to be traded

  • JLin Fan from Australia

FA will start on 1 July. Every team has a chance to get JLin when he is done with Hornets. It’s still more than 2 months away. JLin won’t talk to anyone about FA until Hornets exit from playoffs games.

  • JoeTeam

they wanted to vaca rather than to fly to oak.

  • james brown

well, all nba players need a coach who can play their game, otherwise its an uphill battle to try to showcase ones play, isn’t it?

  • DaBoss

The more suitors, the merrier 🙂

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes:-) You should find the clip. It was so funny!

  • JoeTeam

    i like batum.

  • sport

Batum saw what Lin could do and now feels he needs to prove his worth lol even with an injury.

  • zxcvb

Kemba is the guy who really needs to sit, but anything that takes away Lin’s shots and minutes spells doom for the Hornets.

  • Win

Me too. Just not as PG

  • I am The Jason

    The crowd tonight was lit

  • CJSHYY

I guess after Frank played so well tonight. Cliff don’t need Batum to rush back anymore…

  • zxcvb

I think he just wants to show that he’s healthy before free agency. People were talking about him getting a (near)max contract but if he’s an injury risk, that’s really gonna hurt him.

  • DX

Agreed, Batum can help but shouldn’t keep the ball too much. He can be a good SG or SF.

  • LinMad

    recorded by a potato

  • kauaiblue

    u got that right!

  • Win

I really think Batum will fit perfectly along side Lin. Just let JLin be PG and draw on the defenders first and he can do the rest whether it is scoring or passing.

  • DaBoss

Wouldn’t be surprised if Wade secretly wishes Jeremy was the starting PG for Heat – Spo too – lol

  • james brown

surely, he’s thinking that way or his manager do!

  • james brown

but he must be controlled too!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Huge warning to all JLin fans. Please don’t click this article.

  • CJSHYY

    Wade doesn’t like Dragic.

  • zxcvb

I would too. Every player that isn’t Asian is going to get overpaid this summer.

  • sport

If Batum comes back, Kemba ball takes over and it’s game over…

  • I am The Jason

Clifford said that MJ and Ewing told him to have Kaminsky post up more in the paint, not do more isos

  • LinMad

he’s not a point guard. No point guard plays that slowly and trips over his feet. He’s also not good at passing either. I rather see Batum shooting the ball right after catching it.

  • CJSHYY

    Smh! Shame on them.

  • Win

Well noted. Must be one of those bias sport writers using the name of JLin to get clicks….

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

one question. why is Billy the Bee wearing a Miami Lebron jersey? hornets trying to punk Miami?

  • Win

Well. To me he is a good SF.

  • LinMad

oops I clicked it to check and it’s true, no mention of Lin.

  • zxcvb

Dwyane needs a PED recharge. It’s that time of the month.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Shame on you for not believing me:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Win

Haha. You got the right. Local media is all politics

  • DaBoss

Hmmm … and the plot thickens …

  • Win

Thank you for praising Lin. Wade.

    🙂

  • Briiick

Batum isn’t a difference maker like Lin, but he can be a good starting piece in a good team. On the other hand, KW can’t even be a starting SG in a good team due to his height, and don’t tell me he is a PG.

  • heart

    Thanks for the warning.

  • Win

But JLin can also go to his left and the % is actually better than his right.

    🙂

  • Win

Well. He is only telling the true. But it is all thanks to Clifford though. SMH.

  • TTNN

It is interesting to see local media try hard to down play Lin, but national media pick up Lin much more willingly. Especially guys in NY, they might think Lin belong to NY already. LOL

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • KWC

Wow KD got a flagrant 2

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    What happened?

  • TTNN

Oh, please, how many ball hogs you want Lin to play with? Lin already collected 4.

  • sws94

That’s big. Star player ejected in a flagrant.

  • KWC

    No KD next game too.

  • heart

    Thanks.

  • sws94

Wow. I didn’t see it. I’ll check twitter, I’m sure they have it.

  • Briiick

The league will give Hornets their share of cut no matter what. That’s why they aren’t more interested in enlarging the pie than preserving their local investment.

  • grover chang

Wade is a tough cookie. Would be very scary if he was in his prime right now.

  • heart

Yep. Cliff said MJ and Ewing asked him to post up Kam. He said when two Hall of Famers tell him to do that. He has to complied.

  • DaBoss

Wade’s not like that – too old and he knows it.

  • kauaiblue

That was a routine foul on jlin…

  • kauaiblue

    Thanks.. will not click…

  • kauaiblue

I th8nk its more they dislike him… lol

    Oh wait.

  • CaliUSMC

    better highlights. thanks~~~

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

no problem. just close any popups that comes up

  • sws94

    That’s a common foul against Lin. Didn’t look like a flagrant 2.

  • 热情的lychee

    hahaha!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Don’t worry. It will be included in the retrospection vid. Should be released soon.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • I am The Jason

I saw that foul. I don’t think it was a flagrant 2. Just a flagrant 1. The NBA needs to clarify what a flagrant foul is.

  • InfiniteWisdom

i like this team. hope he stays. it’ll be a perennial contender in the east for years.

1.) Let batum walk. he s NOT worth max. not even close to it. he’s a super role player not a number one guy.
2.) trade lamb and hawes for pennies on the dollar. worst contracts on this team
3.) resign marv hopefully on a discount
4.) resign lee hopefully for MLE type money
5.) chase horford or noah in free agency. if cant land both draft/trade/sign a young athletic big. someone like dwight powell
6.) let al walk unless he wants to play for vet min
7.) resign troy for BAE type money
8.) sign lin to a deserving contract. at least 4yrs 40 million as a starter.

    kemba-lin-mkg-marv-horford/noah
    lee-troy-frank-zeller
that’s good enough for 2 seed every season…

  • eeeee

Good to know! I really hope the NBA responds PROPERLY this time. 🙁

What I want to know though is if there’s a difference in the fouls called before and after the video. The stats tell me that there was a spike immediately after it came out but what about now?

  • CaliUSMC

Anyone know what the inside nba crew said about Lin post game?

  • sws94

Good luck with this post 🙂

  • I am The Jason

Lin will not start for the Hornets as long as Kemba is there,

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Don’t see much differences…. esp this game.

  • InfiniteWisdom

even if he doesnt start. he’d stay if they give him the respect of a bigger contract and a larger role as true 6th man (30+ min per game)…

  • DX

Thank you for working so hard for making Lin and Hornets together. But simple solution is Lin go to another team.

  • I am The Jason

I would not mind Lin staying in Charlotte if he was used as a 6th man but he isn’t. Batum or Walker plays with the 2nd unit now.

  • InfiniteWisdom

no luck needed. lin will not go to brooklyn. they’re worse than philly cuz the nets cant even tank as they have no draft picks to tank for. they were legit that bad and no free agents want that russian money to be a loser and waste away your career.

  • sws94

If he’s not used as a 6th man, why was he nominated for 6th MOY?

  • InfiniteWisdom

well my whole premise is that they let batum walk… that frees up minutes for lin.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i don’t wish for Lin to suffer another year playing behind kemba or start with kemba

  • sws94

I’m not predicting where Lin is going. But suggesting Lin may not go anywhere where some are so passionately against this team here is quite brave 🙂

  • Phoenix Rising

I think this organization has made it very clear, since the ASB, the direction they plan to take… And jlin doesn’t seem to be a big part of it. Definitely not as a starter.

  • I am The Jason

There was no post game for Inside the NBA

  • InfiniteWisdom

you know what he meant. just because you get minutes standing in the corner doesnt mean those were meaningful minutes….

  • sws94

Problem is, Nic is one of Cliff’s favorite players (maybe favorite) and I think the FO loves him and wants him back.

  • BobbyH

This is a good dream. But Excel Sports won’t allow it. Fool me once, shame on you. Thanks but no thanks. Who knows Cliff will pull a Pev if Lin locks in long term.

  • sws94

I think because Lin is used both as an SG and PG and has closed a good amount of games gives him 6th MOY status. Sometimes he stands in the corner, but sometimes he’s just really active in the offense. He always needs to be really involved in the offense but he is enough to be more than backup PG and more as 6th man.

  • Win

    Lol.

  • LFW

Will stop following Lin if he stays put.

  • Win

Tks. But I really looking forward to Jun Liu highlight.

    🙂

  • Phoenix Rising

Get ready to join a new team forum soon Bws 😛

  • I am The Jason

If Lin was used as a 6th man, he would have won the award instead of just being nominated and coming in 7th for votes.

  • Barry Allen

Nah, Lin should not play behind Kemba. Especially at the point. He needs to go somewhere where he can handle the ball and run the team more.

He hasn’t been given that opportunity enough with the Hornets, but when he has, good things happen.

Look what happen when Kemba was out against Cavs. Lin proved his worth then. Just needs the opportunity to run the point which is his best position.

  • KHuang

    Totally WRONG.

If Lin did that, opponents would load up on him defensively because his teammates would abandon him. Then his stats would drop.

  • sws94

You know what. I can’t say that. I haven’t watched every minute of every game of the other guys nominated so it wouldn’t be fair for me to say that seeing that I don’t have that knowledge of how much impact they have to their teams. I like Iggy and thought he was a worthy candidate and truly, I’m happy for Lin’s recognition. He doesn’t have to win any award, they aren’t terribly important to me. Just lead his team to win. That’s what really matters IMO.

  • LinMad

Sorry, but a little too late and we already see that Lin can start on a team. Lin knows it too. He’s tested his value this season. He knows he can ball harder than some of the top PGs in this season. Just needs to be given a consistent PG role to do it. Hornets will never spend $40 mln on Lin. They probably still think he’s some scrub valued at $5 mln a year max. When it comes down to bidding wars, there are teams that will be willing to spend $15 million a year for Lin next off season and also give him the starting role and pieces that work well with him. I think Hornets need to invest more on their bigs before they should even think about bringing Jeremy Lin back.

  • sws94

    Ha, ok.

  • Alain Gervais

Where’s the offense defense highlights when you need it

  • sws94

Disappointing. I wanted to hear what they were going to say. But the halftime was still good.

  • thanks for the note! crazy that they wouldn’t even mention him.

  • DrewBear2

I also like this team and organization and my impression is Jeremy genuinely enjoys playing with this group of guys. But whether he stays or goes depends on many factors, most which remain in flux at this point in time. One step at a time and the next step is to win another game and perform with the same flair and intensity as he did tonight.

  • DrewBear2

Sorry if this was posted earlier. It came from the Hornets’ official app.
*Edit: Apologies. I just noticed that Win linked to it a few minutes ago.

Lin Leads Hornets in Playoff Win
    by Sam Perley

It’s not easy filling in for the team’s second-leading scorer, particularly during an essential do-or-die playoff game for the hometown Hornets. In what continues to be a pleasant, yet sometimes under appreciated and often unrecognized trend, Jeremy Lin stepped up for the injured Nicolas Batum and helped lead the Hornets to a 96-80 win over the Heat in Game 3, their first playoff victory in 14 years.

With Hornets head coach Steve Clifford electing to go big in his starting lineup by using veteran Al Jefferson and rookie Frank Kaminsky, much of Charlotte’s scoring in the second unit fell on the shoulders of Lin and the Harvard graduate did not disappoint, finishing with a team-high 18 points, four rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes off the bench.

Besides an outstanding performance on the offensive end, Lin was a thorn in the side of Miami point guard, Goran Dragic, for much of the night. After exploding for 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting in Game 3 (3-of-3 from three-point range), the Slovenian sharpshooter struggled to find any kind of rhythm in Charlotte, particularly against Lin. Dragic spent long, critical stretches of the game on the Heat bench with foul trouble largely because of Lin and ultimately finished the night with a rather inefficient 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field.

Lin’s 18-point performance was also more than the entire Heat reserves combined (13). Justise Winslow and Dorell Wright managed just four points apiece, the most of any Miami bench player on the night. Additionally, Lin finished the game with a +17 rating, which was tied with Courtney Lee for the second-highest mark on the team. This statistic indicates that the Hornets outscored Miami by 17 points during Lin’s total time on the court over the course of the game.

Batum’s status for Game 4 on Monday night is still up in the air as he watched the entirety of Saturday night’s game from the Hornets’ sideline with a large boot on his left leg. While the Frenchman’s play-making abilities would surely be welcomed and utilized by Charlotte, safe to say the team is in remarkably good hands with Lin at the helm.

  • BobbyH

“safe to say the team is in remarkably good hands with Lin at the helm.”

It is a rare piece from Hornets NBA that praises Lin like that. Finally a more objective and truthful one.

  • Win

Yup. Sam Perley most of the time give fair comments on all Hornets player. IMO, Frank did help, but it was Jlin who brought them the W.

  • Win

+ Kemba is Cliff god son.

  • InfiniteWisdom

sure but today is vindication that he’s overrated. if batum signs, lin should not… this team will be mediocre for years as maxed out batum would be a garbage contract for years…

  • BobbyH

The intangible that only watching the games can realize.

  • DrewBear2

Sorry about that. I posted the whole article before I saw that you’d linked to it.

  • BobbyH

Nice of you to say that. I don’t mind. But hey, give them click.

  • InfiniteWisdom

i dont confuse lin fans with basketball fans. i want him to start and lead a team as well, but unless its for a potentially good team like the bucks or minny, he would waste his prime years on lottery philly or bklyn…

  • Win

No worries brother. Let us all enjoy a great game from JLin and the Hornets W.

    🙂

  • chan c

his teammates standing in unison celebrating that 3 gave me that Linsanity feels… Go JLin!

  • InfiniteWisdom

look at tonight. the cream rises to the top. a lin led team = win.
    game 1 batum scores 20+ = loss
game 2 walker and al score 25+ = loss

    it’s simple really. lin = win…

  • Prof

“In what continues to be a pleasant, yet sometimes under appreciated and often unrecognized trend, Jeremy Lin stepped up…” Indeed that is what JLin did for Hornet all year, come to the rescue when needed.

  • Win

Jazzs is pretty good too. Gonna pass on Minny though.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

you just proved why Lin should NOT stay in Charlotte to play with ball hogs LOL

  • InfiniteWisdom

rather him be sixth man on a really good team with good team culture than be a starter putting up stats on a team with no hope for a ring. the hornets have the base to be top 3 in the east for years to come.

  • DaBoss

You are really funny … really! Try that one out on Clifford/Cho/MJ.

  • grover chang

I thought he really wanted to live in Toronto .

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • InfiniteWisdom

looking forward, if you want to win, they will unleash linsanity. it’s literally the only way. we’ve seen all season high scoring games for kemba and batum that lead no where. at the same time, lin’s high scoring games involved the cavs and spurs. go figure. the coaches arent stupid. they will do what’s necessary to win. look for lin to destroy miami in game 4.

  • Alain Gervais
  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • InfiniteWisdom

even with thibs as coach and pres? that team is very close to being the next okc.

  • DaBoss

The coaches aren’t stupid? I guess you haven’t been watching all season. Lin has led the team to wins against the elite teams this year and what do they do? Limit his minutes after big wins, keep him from touching the ball on offense and park him in the corner to watch his teammates play. The coaches know what Jeremy is capable of but time after time they refuse to use him to their adavantage. That is definitely not smart. They do not do what is necessary to win. It is only because Batum is injured that they are being forced to play Lin and involve him on offense.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Win

Jazzs have a decent roster such as Gobert, Hayward and Booker which will fit pretty good with Lin’s playing style. They are also with out a true pg.

On the other hand Minny have too many players need the ball in their hand such as LaVine, Wiggins. Beside, Lin will probably play behind Rubio which I think he is super overrated.

  • Love Lin

sweet feedback.. there were all the cues in what was unsaid.. 🙂

  • sws94

That’s exactly how I feel. The next step now is the next step. And this step was well done.

  • Love Lin

Wowwww… Hes got full support fm his family n friends.. 🙂

  • Win

Let him be. He might probably get more piss for 1 or 2 or even 3 more games.

It is all depends on Cliff now. Sign…..

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Even Fung bros were also in the game.

  • sws94

Maybe. Toronto has holes, the Cavs aren’t invicible, Atlanta looks like they will break up some, Miami is good but they’ll change in coming years. Maybe.

  • donsmacau

Oh so she is the long-haired dictionary.

  • sport

True friend! You won’t see Kemba posting something so genuine and rooting for Lin like that! Post interview speaks for itself too.

  • sws94

He seems injury prone and ultimately, he isn’t a high-energy player.

  • Acbc

You’re infinite wisdom is full of the man folding his arm and holding back BS.

  • Win

I thought D’Angelo Russell is Young true friend?

    Lol. Just kidding.

  • zxcvb

Awesome! Even racists have to admit it was Lin who led them.

  • Win

Only if the genius Clifford allow him to.

  • Win

Batum is not overrated. Clifford play him as Point Forward and that is the main issue.

Batum will be a good fit as SF along side with Lin.

  • sport

Underestimating Lin! Starting is main priority! Lin’s got better options then playing backup to Kemba!

  • DrewBear2

I would have, but their app doesn’t provide an easy link to copy. Fortunately Win found it. 🙂

  • CaliUSMC

  • Love Lin

    PapaLin chills.. 🙂

  • InfiniteWisdom

3rd best record in east with a ton of bad losses and only a few upsets. the team is legit. add some talented bigs, add mkg back, and let lin be lin. that’s a recipe for ECF appearances…

lin + lee > batum. add in more minutes for mkg and lin + lee + mkg >>>>>>>>>>>> batum…

  • DrewBear2

Always tough to guess about injuries. Steph Curry’s ankles a few years ago looked like they were done. As far as energy, Nic is kinda sneaky quick on both defense and offense. He’s got long arms and gets deflections and steals fairly frequently. And he knows how to get a shot off really fast.

  • sws94

He’s not really backup to Kemba. When he comes on the court, Kemba plays several more minutes. He replaces Lee or Batum before Kemba comes out and then he runs point and then he sometimes stays in when Kemba comes back for a few minutes.

  • Acbc

Sometimes when people are so used to the ” Uncle Tom Syndrum ” they can’t tell if they are standing up straight or not. They’re so used to bowing to their masters that they don’t realize that they are being kicked in the rear all the time because their butt is sticking up behind them in submission.

IMO, Lin hates that he has to be submissive when everything in his makeup pushes him to be a leader.

  • InfiniteWisdom

yes, every player is jealous of ish smith’s starting spot….

  • takeme2cruz

Mama and Papa in separate seats?

  • InfiniteWisdom

he was brought over to be point forward. this is known. batum will never be a role player on this team. if he did accept a lesser role and lesser contract that’d be great. but it’ll never happen.

  • Win

    At The Hive.

The Charlotte Hornets looked like a new team on Saturday, cruising to victory over the Miami Heat thanks to big performances from Jeremy Lin, Kemba Walker and Frank Kaminsky.

    Lmao.

Also, Clifford left KW during the garbage minutes so that he can pad his stats to claim the credit that he is not deserve. Smart, very smart Clifford. You are a genius.

  • kauaiblue

    is this guy schizo?

  • kauaiblue

no way… he outta there… back to the bright lights, big city…

  • kauaiblue

    Starter. point guard.

  • occupatio

someone tell me what Lee did that deserved 42 minutes tonight compared to Lin’s 26 minutes.

  • Win

He was brought over because Cliff and Cho wants him to be a point forward.

People from french are mostly the laid back type. I am not sure Batum wants the spot light that much. And he actually seem like a very good team player. But since Clifford keep praising Batum the entire season, I am not sure if Batum willing to less than max contract though.

Bottom line, it is all Clifford or the FO fault.

  • Alain Gervais

He played great defense. HE is like a worse version of MKG. Thats not a knock because he is still pretty good.

  • CJSHYY

I guess he will stay & also helped D for Kemba.

  • Alain Gervais

He won’t play much with MKG back

  • occupatio

his defense is decent. i would not call it great.

on offense, he forced a lot of shots he has no business even attempting. must be cliff’s ingenious idea.

  • CJSHYY

My guess he will take over Lin’s job for 2nd unit.

  • Alain Gervais

I said he “played great”. Made some key plays. His defense on Wade is effective if we have our game going. If not it has no effect

  • sws94

I’m totally against Nets and Phillies as a personal choice. I think the great thing about Lin is he’s a winner and those teams right now aren’t winners and I don’t go with any romantic notions that Lin will make these teams winners in one season. Lin needs guys around him that know what they are doing, at least to some extent. But if he chooses to go to one of those teams, then I’ll support that team he’s on.

  • Alain Gervais

Nope he doesn’t have those skills. Probably play off the bench and take Lambs minutes but he is just a defender. Im not sure they can afford him. Or need him with MKG back.

  • occupatio

honestly, i dont think lee’s defense against wade is that much better. but somehow wade has supernatural confidence against lin, so he DOES score better against lin. i think its more wade’s subjective perception and his level of motivation against lin instead of a real difference.

  • Win

He is good at D and played pretty good team ball during the regular season. However, he has become a bit too selfish ever since the playoff has started imo. If using Lee purely for defense purpose, I wouldn’t min seeing Lee play more than 30 mins.

  • Linfan78

Dear mod, I’m new to this site and I don’t know if I have to sign up to post here or just post through my disqus account? Like what are the benefits of signing up? Or someone else can help me if they like.

  • Alain Gervais

Its not supernatural confidence its height and Strength. Wade is just to big and skilled. Lee is bigger and slightly taller. So he doesn’t post up as much. Still He is effective.

  • occupatio

is he really being ‘selfish’ in the playoffs, or is he getting the special clifford treatment? either way, its annoying.

  • zxcvb

    1. Not be Asian.
    2. Is Clifford’s “favorite son” from his Orlando days.

  • occupatio

lee is not stronger than lin. but wade does not try to post up lee as much. its totally psychological.

  • Win

That I don’t know. All I know is he is a bit different compare to regular season games and playoff game.

I do know that the genius Clifford like him a lot though.

  • InfiniteWisdom

should be called At The Homer.

  • zxcvb

Wade isn’t doing that much against Lin. He’s like 4-9 with a couple TOs.

The only thing he has going is that he’ll ALWAYS get a phantom foul call if he misses and falls down.

  • sws94

He said go to his right hand, not drive right. Maybe they want Lin to dribble more with his left hand.

  • occupatio

    true about the calls.

  • Win

Agreed. When Lin on Wade, it is a mismatch.

Imagine if KW on Wade??? Lol.

  • Alain Gervais

I just checked his weight. He is 200 while Lin is 205. Its purly height. Lins Post defense needs work

  • CJSHYY

I agree Lin on Wade it’s mismatch in the first place.

  • occupatio

lin’s post D is fine. the major difference is that wade does not even try to establish deep post position against lee. it is certainly not that that lee is harder to move.

  • Alain Gervais

Its not really Lin is quite big. Bigger then Lee is weight. Lins post defense needs work.

  • sws94

Lin is now 205. He doesn’t look it.

  • sws94

I think Lin is an excellent post defender. Wade is just a superstar. Lee moves his feet well so they defend differently. But Wade lit Lee up in game 2.

  • Alain Gervais

Wade never tries to post Lee. Because of height Lin has to be great on post defense. Right now he is pretty good. Still the height issue makes pretty good seems ok. So he has to over achieve on Post defense because the players who post him have a pretty big Height advantage

  • Win

I thought Wade is 220 but only a little bit taller than Lin. But also get the super star call.

  • occupatio

really, lee’s better height has made little difference in this series against wade. look at what wade is getting these three games — he’s been shooting over lee whenever he wants. lee’s extra height makes zero difference against wade’s elevation and ability to get separation.

  • Alain Gervais

officially 200. Its the same as lee.

  • InfiniteWisdom

big losses… bklyn is in the midst of a rebuild with NO draft picks…. lin would waste his prime playing with brook friggin lopez! lol why would you want that for lin?

lets hope batum walks for max money from a bigger market team. then they can afford to pay lin and get a better big. i think we should take a chance on noah. horford is probably going to stay. chicago is a mess. noah may want to contend in his latter years. he is way better than zeller and does the same things only better.

  • InfiniteWisdom

    losses. lottery team.

  • Win

But is is good that Lee can take the defensive load from Lin so that Lin will have more energy on the offensive end.

Well only if Clifford allow Lin to run the offense though. SMH.

  • Alain Gervais

I have to say. Skilled players like Harden and wade Give Lin a little trouble. He has a little work to do verses those type of players. Lee early makes mistakes. Even though it doesn’t matter. Wade is very skilled and elite. He just catches Lin more often then Lee with nice moves. Mostly due to post ups.

  • kauaiblue

lol… don’t forget, he does not do better than walker…

  • Win

Wow. I just realize Lin coast to coast basket is super fast!

  • occupatio

no one on this team can stop wade. he can get whatever midrange and in-paint shots he wants any time he wants. if wade misses, it’s because he missed, not because the defender has bothered him a lot.

then you look at lee on offense tonight, just forcing stuff. stuff way outside his skill range. and the boxscore equally ugly: 3 for 11 tonight.

  • Alain Gervais

He definitely is not perfect. Would rather MKG.

  • Win

That’s why I hate it when Lin teammates bring the ball up instead of passing it to Lin after the rebound. Literally everyone does it, like Lamb, Hawks, Lee, etc.

  • DrewBear2

    Great team win.

“The key stretch of the game was obvious — a 20-1 run that gave the Hornets a commanding lead in the third quarter. Tied at 53-53 after a Goran Dragic jumper with 7:41 on the clock, the Hornets held the Heat scoreless until the 1:04 mark.”

  • InfiniteWisdom

yes that’s why they should be smart and realize he isnt worth max. offer him a fair contract, take it or leave it. he will probably leave it. good. let another team tear out their hair looking at his turnovers and 3pt chucks trying to draw a foul…

instead like i said lin + lee > batum. add in a competent big, add in mkg, get rid of lamb, al, and hawes. all the ingredients are there for a REALLY good team…

  • Michael

You get a free car…no, actually you are good to go.

  • Win

I honestly don’t even know what is disqus. Sorry can’t help.

  • Michael

They take too long to read the situation, missing out on early attacking opportunities.

  • InfiniteWisdom

the best is when hawes gets the reb and takes it up himself. TO waiting to happen if i ever saw one…

  • Win

Lol. I saw a few. Haha.

  • Win

Agreed. Lin is the best in fast break. Most of the time Lin will make the right decision.

  • Win

Agreed. Maybe we can keep Lamb and see if he can develop. But it was a mistake for re-signing Lamb too early.

  • Linfan78

Disqus is like a site that enables you to comment on forums or blogs. What are the benefits of signing up on jlinportal?

  • Linfan78

    Haha, what do you mean?

  • InfiniteWisdom

no difference between philly/bklyn and last years lakers. bad players will play bad. chuckers gon chuck. bad attitude is bad attitude. lin would be MISERABLE! lin’s got a good thing going in charlotte. the big question is the team willing to lose everybody to pay batum the max?

  • sport

Doesn’t matter being backup is an insult to Lin’s abilities when he’s a starting PG and star if given the minutes and reign to his team.

  • JoeTeam

you can sign up for this site to vote for the polls. Otherwise, disqus is good enough.

  • Linfan78

What if I get banned god forbid, how do I contact the mods?

  • Win

I don’t think I can wait for the highlights from Jun Lin. Too sleepy.

Have a good night guys and girls!

  • sport

Not wasting, if Lin gets to lead his own the team you can bet he will be playoff and Allstar bound! Wasting years would be settling as backup which Lin has no plans of doing. Also what’s with using BS as profile pic, makes me feel like you’re his fan or something.

  • InfiniteWisdom

NO!!! said it from the beginning. lamb sucks. he’s a dumb chucker. OKC gave up on him. reggie jackson took his spot and turned it into a max contract. cho messed up on that contract. now we need to give up 2nd round pick to trade this guy before he tanks his value even more. sell another team on his youth and potential that he will NEVER achieve…

  • kauaiblue

oh my goodness… they are reviewing a play for flagrant foul on chris paul on a layup when it looks like a whisper compared to the shots taken against jeremy… unbelievable…

  • Michael

Are you planning on getting banned, lol. Cause the rules are quite easy to follow, and the mods issue warnings first.

  • Michael

    Rubbing it in our faces?

  • sport

That’s where you’re wrong, when MKG was playing Lin barely got 18 minutes! even 15 minutes or lower at one point!

  • Linfan78

No lol, but if I do how can they warn me or can contact me if I am not signed up?

  • Alain Gervais

Yea Lin and MKG had a ton of promise

  • InfiniteWisdom

which teams? lottery teams? lin wont waste his prime on a rebuild. it’s not within his character. he wants to win and have fun. losing is not fun. he had enough of that in LA

  • Michael

Either post the warning in a reply or I dunno use a bat signal?

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Lori sure has a lot of roommates for someone who is making so much money

  • InfiniteWisdom

you cant trade for batum and not play him. cliff isnt stupid. look at that garbage lamb and hawes. not getting time. he will do what is necessary to win, even if it takes 2 blowouts to figure out zeller is whiteside’s BBQ chicken….

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

dude, do what the trolls do when they get banned.. go to mcdonalds and create a new account

  • kauaiblue

Seems like it… unbelievable and all this talk about playoffs allowing for hard fouls… jlin is totally and incontrovertibly being subjected to disparate treatment…

  • Ben Johnson

If Kemba’s performance was “big”, than Jeremy and Frank’s were freaking enormous!

  • kauaiblue

I am very interested. However, before signing up, canni ask a few questions?

  • zxcvb

And this was called a flagrant 2 on Durant.

    https://streamable.com/7aiu

Lin was hit like that (only harder) by Kobe, Harden, Melo and none of them even merited a review. I’m not even included Wes Johnson’s hard hit because at least he was going for a block and missed horribly (lol).

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    no, she’s not single

  • Linfan78

Haha, really, they do that if I have a disqus account?

  • kauaiblue

I saw that… that was nothing compared to the crep jlin has to endure…

  • Linfan78

Haha, if I were to make a new account I would need a new email right? Just asking because I don’t think I can make a new one. Not saying I’m trying to get banned though.

  • Michael

You can call a flagrant on KD as long as it’s not to Lin?

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

that raises an important question.. why is creating a new email an issue? i have 30!

  • CJSHYY

After Lin’s video, now maybe when you touch the face it’s flagrant then?

  • Linfan78

Idk I don’t have use for more than two emails. Btw the way if you don’t mind me asking why do have 30?
Also how would mods warn me without a signing up here god forbid?

  • heart

    1) The commentators in the video right away said: That’s a flagrant foul! Anytime you get hit in the head…
    2) Why are these commentators so quick to point out FF and even describing what is a flagrant?
    3) Yet when Lin got hit the commentators were silent or making excuses and even giggling?
    4) And the NBA refs didn’t even review or blow the whistle? SMH! Hypocrite and double standards on display!
    5) Try keeping track of all these FF for future reference and comparison.

  • Ben Johnson

It’s ok…next year when he’s back with MDA, I’m sure MDA will sign a Bill Lambier-Enforcer type, so that if JLin does get knocked around without a flagrant foul called, the enforcer will dispense justice

No Lin no Win but as we all know next game cliff going back to being cliff.

  • Linfan78

Oh I was about to say.

  • Spot

That’s why we love Jeremy. He’s special not only off the court but especially on court 😎

  • Spot

Actually, Lee has Asian roots =)

  • 7iger

Anything less than 10 is insulting. Not bout the $ but it is all bout respect.

  • Ben Johnson

Deron WIlliams lasted a minute today…I really hope that no team would

  • 7iger

    2 days? Why not 2 weeks? 😆

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    that’s not even possible haha

  • 7iger

Come on it is 4 Lin

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i’m sure there’s a bigger Lin fan somewhere..

  • LinMad

next video “Jeremy Lin: Too flagrant not to review”

  • 7iger

Seen like u r not new at all

  • CJSHYY

He’s done for this season from Mav’s coach. Cuban so dumb to sign him over Lin. smh!

  • Lam

I wonder how God solves the quandary that if He answer the prayers of both fans/players then Miami and Charlotte would both win.

  • Ben Johnson

Cuban wanted a “star”…inside, he got a “dud”

  • 7iger

Yeah Obama also had Asian root

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Indeed. He got what he asked for it. LOL!

  • CJSHYY

$ also show how much they value you.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

great question! i think fans/teams that pray to him would have to be more convincing. like, it would help if they sent video proof that they want to win more

  • Lam

    Ha Ha….

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I must say Lin must be the most disrespected leading scorer in a playoff game.
Kemba Walker must be the most respected starter in a playoff game shooting 4 out of 19 and eight out of eight on the free throw line in 36 minutes.

  • LinMad

cause they aint ready for an asian baller

  • Barry Allen

Kemba Walker…. really? lol The dude was 4/19 and played during garbage time.

    They are stretching there.

  • Linfan78

I’m not technically new but new in the sense that I didn’t post in a long time.

Still, Buddha said if u don’t go to h*** who else will. Umm…I mean Jesus ummm. I mean.. u know I am not religious.

While Lin is making history for the Hornets, he got 26 minutes while Courtney scored only 8 points in 42 minutes.

  • Ben Johnson

most disrespected player in NBA history to have two playoff games where he was the “player of the game”

  • james brown

i think is not the money but his position on the team..if he’s not going to start, then even with big money, he’s option it out simply because its his time and he know it!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I was so pissed off when Lin was benched while Kemba was padding his stats in the last minutes.

  • LinMad

i was pissed he got the on court national attention interview thingy

  • james brown

Lee in while KW stat pad..if jlin remained playing with KW in the 4th, jlin will score more and will leave kemba at lost

  • Ben Johnson

yeah man, that’s why I’m up so late tonight, I still can’t get over it, have never seen anything like it in pro sports

  • 7iger

I have no hope in cliff

  • LinMad

This is how I see it with such a weak PG FA. Lin needs to do 3 years $35 mln or 4 years $48 mln. That’s the only way he will get to start on a team and not get put back into bench cause they suddenly decided to hire a new PG or diva SG on the team. No takers? Well, then lose out on a great PG with millions of followers. NBA takes a hit too.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There is one thing that I praise about Kemba. He kept on telling Lin to be aggressive on the court.

if Sixers were willing to give schroeder the max. Lin should demand the max + free burritos for life

  • LinMad

that’s only cause he needed him to be. I mean it’s obvious everyone wants to win. Just give Lin a chance, not when we’re 0-2 and have our backs on the wall.

  • LinMad

seriously it’s almost racial bias how he’s been treated in the NBA. Not just with the no calls or disrespect he gets from his coaches but his $2M salary. It’s time to demand respect. If he doesn’t get any takers next season for $35-48 mln, Lin can always lead a boycott against the NBA with his millions of fans in China/Taiwan and US. It would hurt the NBA more than $35-48 mln. Maybe $5 billion or more. Shut the door from China/Asia and the NBA will not grow anymore.

JLin already has free burritos for life from the Chipotle Black Card…maybe free cheesesteaks for life?? 😀

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

he can call on all of his fans to boycott the NBA too. the NBA would go broke!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

no, it’s gotta be burritos. and i don’t care if he’s already got the black card. it’s about respect, dammit! lol

I was gonna go to sleep but I really have to post this which is purely my opinion only.

Before the season start, I have already suspected Lin was purely a promotional tool for the 2 preseason games in China. 2 mils dollars for all the attention from the Asian medias is well worth it under a business pov. And yea, Cho is very smart as he probably was the one who convince MJ and the FO to sign Lin.

As the regular season went on, JLin never see the promise as the main backup PG and even possible to play along side KW. I honestly think if it wasn’t because of MKG is out due to injury, JLin would have seeing a lot less minute. But of cause, ball don’t lies and Lin has show the impact to this team. And Cliff wanna win, therefore; Lin got his playint time. We even see early in the season that Clifford has benched KW and played JLin down the stretch against the Knicks.

However, I have a strong feeling Clifford has bashed by the FO and MJ for benching KW and therefore we have never seen that happen again. Under the instruction of the FO and MJ, the medias (Clifford, Ready, At the Hive, etc, etc) have tried their best to down play Lin’s performance but at the same time Lin still get to play as the bottom line is, MJ/FO and Clifford still wanna win and get into the playoff.

The down playing continue until Clifford went too far by calling Lin a bench player and that will be his role on this team after the came back win against the Spurs. Right after Clifford calling Lin a bench player, a radio interview pop up from no where and Cliff has changed his comment on Lin 360 degree and calling Lin irreplaceable.

After that we all know what has happened, the medias have started to pick up Lin’s news and Lin’s popularity is rising along with his on court success during the regular season.

This is what I have believed how Lin has been treated by the Hornets and that also explained why Lin got his playing time which was all because of the injury of MKG and Batum and the success Lin has during the regular season.

I have no clue what Hornets is planning to do with Lin as after all, Lin have a huge Asian markets behind him and we all know how bad the NBA wanna open op the Asian markets.

On top of that is Lin has been playing some excellent basketball and people see it and Lin is starting to get a lot of attention from the medias thanks to his performance, the true basketball fans and wonderful Lin fans. The Too Flagrant Not to Call Video also helped a tons as many NBA fans and even people who are not NBA fans are starting realize how unfair it was the Refs have treated Lin.

Therefore, I have never blame any of the Hornets teammate including KW. He is a 25 years old kid and yet he has proved that he is willing to let Lin to shine whenever Lin is having a good game. Of cause he like the spotlights too and who doesn’t?Therefore from time to time we will see KW has forced his game a little bit when Lin is having a good game. I mean after all, he is the captain and he was promised by the FO that he is the star of this franchise. But having a BIG HEART that allow Lin to shine with him is really something very rare from a 25 years old kid. And I wish him all the best and the same to all of Lin teammates. You can tell Lin is having a great time, smiling a lot more often and enjoy playing for the Hornets.

So who take the blame? I would say MJ and the front office. KW and Frank were handed picked by MJ and somehow they like Batum a lot. And Lin, which was suppose to be a marketing tool for the preseason game and they have never believed in him somehow end up to be the one getting all the favors and attentions from the fans and the media. It probably was a shock to them that Lin can have this kind of huge impact to the team.

Bottom line is, Hornets have got what they wanted and Lin has got what he wants it, a rehab season. I am not sure what is going to happen next Season but If I am Lin, there is no way I will play for a franchise like the Hornets.

Again, this is solely my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

Yep, we all saw what 2 stay at home mothers can do with a Youtube video. Imagine all his fans or his Youtuber friends like Ryan Higa, Fung Bros, etc. getting on board.

We can make it ugly for them.

  • Ben Johnson

Nice take on the situation brother…fortunately for us, JLin will be leading either the sixers or nets next year under coaches that appreciate his skills, and hopefully we’ll never have to put up with this garbage again

  • Whitman Lam

Yeah I would be surprised if teams try to sign an injured D.Will instead of J.Lin. There’s already talk about teams like the Knicks willing to offer Mike Conley a max deal. Even though Conley hasn’t had a healthy post season in years.
