G9 Brooklyn Nets (3-5) Seeks the First Road Win against Phoenix Suns (3-6)

COUNTDOWN CLOCK

5 Dec 19:30
Washington Wizards @
Time to kickoff
3 hours, 29 minutes

Jeremy Lin decided on the last minute to travel with the team on the 5-game road trip. He and Master Luo, his trusted massage therapist who came from Taiwan, traveled on the road and continues to help the recovery of injured left hamstring.

https://twitter.com/linfinity88/status/797329848549003264/

Both the Nets and the Suns have high pace offense but the 3pt shooting efficiency is the main difference in the Nets wins (37.6% 3FG) and losses (28.6% 3FG)

While the Nets are playing at a high pace, it is other categories in which they are inconsistent. Brooklyn is attempting nearly 34 3-pointers per game but is only making 31.7 percent of those shots.

The difference can be explained in their five losses. In defeats, the Nets are shooting 28.6 percent (51-of-178) from behind the arc as opposed to 37.6 percent (35-of-93) in wins.

KEY OF THE GAME: It would be difficult hit good 3P% shooting on the road but the Nets would have to achieve close to 35% if they want to win because they shoot such high number of 3-point shots. The Suns is ranked 20th in allowing Opponents to shoot efficient FG% at 0.354 (The Nets a little worse at #24 with 0.358) so they might have a chance.

Let’s hope and pray JLin will heal quickly, the Nets will continue their formula of success, play gritty basketball and hit their 3s together as a team, and most importantly finish the game healthy!

Let’s go, JLin and the Nets!

Amen! It would be huge for Nets unity, especially if JLin comes back early in a few games
    Congrats 🙂

I like Booker. haha! Hope they can beat Sun.

I don’t really like to discuss politics as I think it is disgusting. However, I would like to share what my most respected coach Gregg Popovich said about this presidential election. It doesn’t mean that I agree with him but I have a tons of respect on how he has the courage to said what his thoughts to the public.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/gregg-popovich-on-the-election-of-donald-trump-we-are-rome-020433327.html

  • YellowClaw

Lin is their 2nd best player
Why don’t they evaluate him more often

  • blueCypher

They need this win tonight. Next couple of games in la will be tougher

  • YellowClaw

    uh-oh

  • Win

Lol. I really didn’t involved in any recent presidential election debates in this forum. But I like Gregg Popovich so much and I love how he has the balls to said whet he said and that was the sole reason I posted this.

    Peace!

  • YellowClaw

    Check the other site
People are throwing bodies over this lol
Personally for me, I don’t blame all this racism on Trump, it’s always been around and everyone has to come together to beat racism. I am 100% against racism. I don’t think Trump is racist but I do expect him to bring us together as he said in his acceptance speech we need to unite and work together. That was a great speech and I’m not his supporter or anything but I hope he does well and reunite this country for everyone’s sake. That’s what we need to focus on, how to make this country better together. Time to stop trashing each other.

  • aggressiveplayer

Most definitely going to need to win vs the Suns tonight. After that we’re playing Clippers who have been playing incredible defense, Lakers who have been playing much better than anyone expected and off a back to back (while they’re fresh), and OKC which hasn’t dropped off as much as I expected so far.

Basically one winnable game from the Suns and the three games after are very tough. If we want to stay competitive, we’re going to have to win vs Pheonix and pull an upset on I’d say either the Clippers or OKC. Upset on OKC more probable. I think pulling the upset against Lakers is the most unprobable because we’re facing them in a back to back. Clippers upset also highly unlikely.

  • takeme2cruz

He took advantage of his position to do the wrong things. He should call for for calm instead.

  • HVJoy

You are in deep trouble. 🙂

I posted the compatible article from Spurs website last night. It was deleted by the Mods (rightfully) along with other posts on 11/8 election.

  • grover chang

I blame Trump’s opponents and media for creating a caricature demon that became a magnet of hate. It’s easier to hate then to love. So they created Trump to be a lightening rod for racist to use as an excuse and liberals to direct their hate.

  • takeme2cruz

Just my wish that I hope I’d be right, Lin travels with the team on this road trip means he possibly be activated any time.

  • HVJoy

    I disagree respectfully.

I feel that Donald Trump bears most of the responsibility for his “demon” public persona. Just review his words, slogans and propaganda put forth for the past 15 months.

That is why the most-respected NBA coach felt “sick to his stomach” on the election outcome.

  • HVJoy

    I respectfully disagree.

It is not “wrong” for Coach Popovich to be honest about his feelings.

It is actually refreshing to hear a celebrity “say it like it is”. And, he is not a politician, has no obligation to “call for calm”.

  • grover chang

I believe Trump’s words are ugly. But I heard his intended policy as consistently xenophobic not racist. He spoke of Mexicans. Not Mexican-Americans. He spoke of Muslims. Not Muslim Americans. He spoke of China. Not Chinese Americans. He was consistently attacking foreigners.

Just like China in the middle ages. Their reaction to distrust of foreigners was to build a WALL.

I felt to take his talk about foreigners and extrapolate that to racism because some of our citizens look like foreigners was lazy thinking and actually racist.

Trump has hired and worked with Americans no matter how they looked or were sexually oriented. As long as they could produce. Like Lin.

  • aggressiveplayer

I hope so.. but I also sort of get this feeling that when they say two weeks, they really mean two weeks. If Lin could come back before two weeks was up, I feel like they would have not given a time table and instead would have said day to day or something instead.

Just look at Randy Foye, he didn’t get a time range for his injury.

  • Arsenium12 .

The Toronto Huskies played in the first NBA game ever (Nov. 1, 1946) against the New York Knicks. The Huskies lasted for just one season (1946-47).

At that time the league was called the Basketball Association of America. It became the NBA in 1949-50.

  • takeme2cruz

My English is not nearly that good but my understanding was when they said in 2 weeks could it mean any day within 2 weeks?

  • Click Click

Trump’s only ugly words were the secret tapings where he said he can grab females’ you know what and not get in trouble. What he said was wrong and he apologized for it.

He didn’t speak about Mexicans, he speaks about ILLEGAL aliens. He didn’t speak about Muslims, he spoke about Islamic terrorists / extremists. He didn’t speak about Chinese people, he spoke about how China has been raping America and stole all of our and wealth because our corrupt politicians allowed them to.

The evil racist, sexist, homophobe, xenophobe, whatever ist and phobe the media paints him as is all a lie. Problem is, liberals eat it all up and use it as their justification to hate Trump and his supporters, and even call for his assassination. They believe in media propaganda instead of actually researching Trump’s words and speeches themselves. They need an excuse to lash out like entitled 5 year olds just because their side lost the election. You never saw any violence, rioting, and vile name-calling from Republicans when Obama won twice.

  • HVJoy

    Wow. 70 years to date!

  • Click Click

He’s just another angry, uninformed, brainwashed liberal who is regurgitating liberal media propaganda just like Steve Kerr.

    http://www.si.com/nba/2016/11/09/steve-kerr-warriors-donald-trump-election-comments-racist

  • Win

Lol. The post of my point was Pop. I doesn’t matter to me he is a Trump’s or Clinton’s supporter.

  • Win

Another word, I didn’t “judge” on the content of his comment and honestly I couldn’t careless.

  • grover chang

Trump has many flaws and is classless. His tone was unpresidental. But I agree with you that he is painted in a way that makes people feel Hitler was elected president.

I heard what he said. I saw the debates. If it stopped there then everyone I believe would have formed a more realistic opinion of the man. Instead they were told how to interpret his words by commentaries that labeled him blank-ist. That got echoed on every media outlet. Which is creepy when you think about it, like the book 1984.

Negative labels repeated until individuals parroted the labels. You hear something repeated enough it becomes true.

  • Win

That was exactly my point, it doesn’t matter if you agree with his comment or if his comment is right or wrong. The point is Pop known to be a lot less BS compare to other Coaches and GM and I luv that. He is being himself all the time or at least most of the time.

    🙂

  • Win

God, I really wish Lin can play for Pop. 🙁

  • Click Click

It’s called brainwashing / propaganda / social engineering. The globalist leftists have studied social psychology for a very long time. They know exactly how our mind works and they take advantage of it. Many have finally woke up around the world though.

Trump does have many flaws, but so do we all. Nobody is perfect, but at least he’s not mired in controversies, corruption, and have a long history of being a liar.

I disagree that he’s classless. He acted with as much class as you can expect from anyone since he won the election. He could’ve said “Hillary or Obama, you’re fired.” Or gloat, mock, and embarrass the sore losers that are lashing out. He did none of that. In fact, this Marxist Trump hater had to admit that Trump acted with class:

  • HVJoy

Your choice of adjectives to describe Coach Popovich is offensive and incorrect to me. But, I will NOT respond in the similar fashion lest that Mods should have to delete this string of comments.

By the way, thank you for the link to the SI article regarding Coach Kerr. I am beginning to like him.

  • HVJoy

What is the definition of a classless man?

In my opinion, a man who said he can freely “grab a woman by the p—y” and “you can do anything to her because you are a star” IN PRIVATE is classless.

  • Win

Tyson Chandler not expected to play tonight. Nets might have a chance.

  • Win

Haha. I am not sure if Trump will be a good president or not. But whoever say this guy has class is 100% being brainwashed IMO. Lol.

  • HVJoy

Is he injured? I like him… but his misfortune may be a blessing for the Nets.

  • Win

I like him too. Is a good rim protector. Roto say he is not with the team due to personal matter.

  • HVJoy

Thank you. So he is not injured. Good. His absence is surely helpful for us.

  • Joe what do you know

Can’t remember exactly but I have an impression either Lin himself or the official team news said “at least 2 weeks”. And the exact date would be tomorrow. Fingers crossed cos I’m getting bored…

  • Win

You are more than welcome. I am pretty sure Brook can destroy Alex Len. Go Nets!!!

  • Joe what do you know

Devin Booker needs to be shut down first. I doubt BOG could do the job so perhaps RHJ…. though I’m not 100% confident with him too…

  • Win

Agreed. Should put RHJ on Devin. Fortunately RHJ’s defensive game has been pretty good lately imo. Let’s hope he can shut down Devin. On the other hand I think Bledsoe is super overrated.

  • CJSHYY
  • Click Click

Woa, nice. Hope he takes it easy and don’t rush his return.

  • Win

I am getting very tire of watching the Nets without Lin tbh.

  • takeme2cruz

His last game was 11/2 and the announcement was on the 11/3. So 2 weeks should be the 17th not tomorrow like we all wished.

  • orLinaryjoe

Better sign if he is putting shots up. No rush tho.

  • Joe what do you know

Oh bummer… thanks for correcting me.

  • Sundown

This just in: Generalisimo Franco is still dead.

  • takeme2cruz

You only guessed but it was pretty close.

  • DX

Will be very happy even Lin only play Lakers’ game.

  • gandychan

He actually called a mexican American judge who was born in the US a Mexican who couldn’t be trusted to handle the case against trump university because he is Mexican.

He took the race of a man and judged his merrits purely based on that. please educate me if I am mistaking this action for racism.

  • Cookiemole

    His mom died

  • sport

So bored, wish Lin was playing tonight. Either way I will watch and support the Nets.

  • 1mtoldman

tho booker was seens last season as the next klay thompson thus far this season for a very young player (i think one of the youngest in the league) he has not been performing well, forcing the issue and shooting very inefficient.

in the game i saw where early the suns were playing well against someone maybe the warriors the offense of feeds from the back court to chandler and other bigs for easy dunks.

  • aggressiveplayer

So I remember seeing a post about how the Nets have more games where they have more rest than their opponents and less games where they have less rest than the opponent. Turns out, that table was wrong. We have 13 games with more rest than our opponents, and 19 games with less rest than our opponents. This aligns with ESPN’s view that Nets indeed have the toughest schedule. 13 games with more rest than the opponent is the lowest number of advantageous games in the entire league.

  • Tux
  • CJSHYY
  • sws94

I’m happy with the way the Nets are playing. They have a major, major, major presence out of the lineup and they play competitively. And they are thin in the PG position due to the backups being down.

  • aggressiveplayer

Just curious what do you mean by major presence out of the lineup? You mean they have great staff?

  • zxcvb

We need Lin back. The Nets need him back. The NBA needs him back. Heck, this country needs him back. He’s one of the only athletes whose success is genuinely inspirational, going beyond sports and entertainment.

He’s an Asian-American but also a devout Christian. The son of immigrants but also a Harvard graduate. He’s at the top of his profession (NBA starting PG) but had to overcome countless obstacles to get there. We could all use a little Linsanity right about now — a positive reminder of America and unity.

  • zxcvb

Bring him to Brooklyn. Could use his shooting at SF and he already gets along with Lin.

  • Dorothy

Is the game on League Pass? How come I don’t see it?

  • Dorothy

I mean I don’t see it listed on my Verizon Fios TV

  • Win

    It should be on MSG.

  • Win

2 Blocks for Brook already. Good sign.

  • Win

I predicted Brook gonna destroy Alex Len. Hopefully not the other way around.

  • Dorothy

Thanks. Found it at NBA League Wide. 1499 NBA/MLS10 on mine Verizon

  • cshot

    booker with a 3?! lol

  • james brown

nets game is a sleeper..no enery aND not meeded ISO who can’t iso (RJH)

  • james brown

i can’t stil get the high Love with RJH by nets?

  • Win

    So many TOs….

  • psalm234

Lin talking to Skil on bench

  • psalm234

It really comes down to who can make more 3s

  • Win

Damn, is it me or we are just not getting any call at all?

  • cshot

    wow no basket..?

  • cshot

    ok nvm they added it

  • james brown

nets needs to take advantage of sun’s lull in scoring..they need energy and trust on their game!

  • cshot

bojan….. sigh he thinks hes dame lillard or something. damn isos are not good at all. i could probably guard him

  • Win

They did, the off set it with turnover + no call by ref.

  • BobbyH

Too many iso and selfish plays. Need a quarterback there on the court.

  • psalm234

    Foye made the tough floater

  • cshot

the suns dancers…. <3 wow srry back to the nets

  • sport

Foye is shorter than Lin no? Yet even he can hit floaters. Lin really need to work on his floaters to open up his game.

  • psalm234

Yogi is very good in penetration, so quick like Kemba
    Can’t finish yet

  • sport

Nets passing is pretty ugly. :/

  • cshot

what ive been saying all this time as well lol. like its seriously easy buckets.

  • psalm234

Good D by Scola and 3
    32-25

  • sport

Yes when he can get to the rim over the trees like Bucks he needs those floaters to help.

  • psalm234

    Yogi to Foye 3!
    37-30

  • HVJoy

    Foye 3!

  • cshot

    wow!

  • sport

Foye developing into a good PG who can be a offensive threat. This will be a blessing in disguise. When Lin comes back these younger players will be more developed. Just hope their chemistry with Lin will be in sync.

  • cshot

randy plays at his pace and distributes well. much more better than bojan lol. but i like him coming off the bench as a pg so we dont get absoluetly crushed once the bench checks in

  • sport

Bojan is mostly a scoring SG not a PG. I don’t like him handling the ball.

  • cshot

just a spot up shooter that thinks he has handles and speed

  • psalm234
  • sport

Yup who isn’t good at getting to the rim.

  • cshot

    lol rondae with a stepback

  • CJSHYY
  • psalm234

Coach KA is not happy at all. Said , “Let’s go!” During TO

  • james brown

yeah and unless Bojan realizes it too, he will be a deficit with the team instead of being an asset!

  • sport

Will Lin play next Thursday then? The wait is horrible.

  • cshot

gaaaaa i dont enjoy watching rondae and his isos. why cant he just cut to the basket, screen and roll. his j is absolutely broke and coughs up the ball too much when dribbling

  • Win

I thought there were playing fine in the 2nd qtr.

  • psalm234

Harris shoots set 3 like a layup!

  • sport

Bojan so far seems to play only for himself rather than with the team. He doesn’t fit in with the team very well.

  • Win

    Harris!!!!!!

  • Win

    Booker should have pass…

  • sport

Can’t shoot at all really should be benched.

  • sport

Harris carrying the team with his 3s! Why isn’t he starting?! He’s one of the few on the team who is consistent with his 3s.

  • cshot

    you had a 2 on 1…………………

  • HVJoy

    4:00 46-34 Nets lead!

  • sport

    Woohoo Nets increasing the lead!

  • cshot

thank god the suns are terribad. they are nothing without dbooker and chandler

  • swijayas

While Lopez has not scored at all

  • psalm234

Some sloppy plays letting Suns score

  • blueCypher

This is a must win. Phoenix is not good, dont let this one get away. And i hope they take one of the la games

  • sport

His presence alone makes it tough for Suns to go to the rim and draws defenders. Good things happen when Kilpatrick, Harris, and Lopez are on the floor. Both Kilpatrick and Harris should seriously start with Lin.

  • psalm234

Lin high fived all players after TO

    50-38!!!

  • sport

LOL Brook Lopez can just throw the ball in with one hand cause he’s so tall haha.

  • HVJoy

Hope the team retains the energy level in the 2nd half!

  • aggressiveplayer

Yup I hope this one doesn’t get away from us. As long as we don’t collapse and keep this up we’re good.

  • BobbyH

Then they should rest Brook on the game before.

  • cdblue10

    We’re winning,we’re winning

  • sport

win sealed if we don’t mess up in 3rd quarter. 🙂

  • Win

I like how the Nets been playing recent. Just hope KA won’t stick with his minutes that often and let the hot player keep playing while they are hot! If Lin is healthy, we really might sneak into playoff.

  • james brown

i don’t understand why nets can’t make a play freeing Harris for a good shot. unless harris is open, he can’t convert a shot.harris handling the ball is a disaster in the waiting

  • blueCypher

I am hoping they take one of the la back to back games. Lakers will be the “easier” one

  • sport

It’s fun seeing the Nets win as a team even though we’d rather watch Lin play. By having Lin’s extra minutes these rookies and young players got a chance to develop faster. When Lin’s back I believe they win go on a winning streak.

  • Win

    Kpil answer!!!!!!!!!

  • blueCypher

Indeed. Plus i think will be out a few more games after la games

  • psalm234

Haha coach KA high-fived Booker who challenged the missed 3 & fell down

  • Win

RHJ almost double double on the 1st half! Good to see.

  • Win

Harris is the best spot up shooter in our team.

  • psalm234
  • blueCypher

I love this team. Good guys, unselfish, buying into the system.

  • sport

Wow RHJ’s fast break to the rim for the foul reminded me of Lin.

  • psalm234

Very aggressive & drew lots of fouls!

  • sport

Yes can he can’s score his shot is just broken.

  • HVJoy

    14 pts and 9 rebounds!

  • zxcvb

Definitely. I think the Nets can stay afloat w/o Lin in the short-term, but they need Lin back to be an actual good team. Beating the Suns and Wolves is one thing; beating the Thunder and Blazers is another.

I’d guess that Lin will return 11/23 against the Celtics. If they were losing every game, he might be tempted to rush back, but now he can take his time and heal 100%. If they hold on tonight and go 1-3 in the next 4 games, it won’t be too big a hole for Lin to overcome (5-8 record when he returns).

Good to see RHJ gain some confidence. He’s rebounding too, which is really important for this team.

  • blueCypher

They can stay around .500 until lin comes back. Then we go on streak

  • james brown

i cringe when he fastbreak because he can’t handle the ball well and he always put himself in a bind always by barging on players rather than avoiding them..good that he was bailed out by a foul but he needs to learn how to handle the ball during practice.Nets Teams winning because sun suck hard!!!

  • james brown

except RJH and Bojan plus don’t let harris creates for himself..they are good

  • CJSHYY

Hope our 3Q can stay up…. have to win this one.

  • blueCypher

I was hoping to see lin vs westbrook. Too bad….

  • cshot

anyone have a stream thats not so freaking delayed?

  • psalm234

Maybe it will decrease Bojan’s trade value 😄

  • HVJoy

the notorious 3Q performance… well, hope the history does not repeat itself here

  • psalm234

Glad Nets is leading but watching game live without Lin playing is boring 😑

    GEtting sleepy now zzzz

  • CJSHYY

    I know We’re always happy only for 1st half….

  • sws94

    Lin.

  • psalm234

Nets players back out shooting .. Brook made333s!

  • psalm234

    Practice shootaround

  • HVJoy

Energy – we need Energizer bunny here. 😊

  • gum

    Are you at the game?

  • Elon Musk
  • sport

    not as exciting.

  • psalm234
  • psalm234

Yes with blubell & Melody 😄

  • HVJoy

No wonder you have so many great “instant” photos of the game. Thank you!

Hope Nets win this game for you 3 dedicated fans!

  • Win

Booker really need to a little bit more pass and stop forcing the shot.

  • CJSHYY

Please not again… hold on the lead….

  • gum

My nba league pass is so slow…but you were way ahead…that is why I thought you are there..

  • aggressiveplayer

Really need to move the ball and stop taking bad shots. Hold the lead.

  • sport

The dreaded 3rd quarter melt down continues. Why does this happen every time? Is it the coaching, lineup, or lack of adjustments?

  • cshot

im not even suprised lol. 3rd quarter curse

  • HVJoy

    I share your nervousness…

  • james brown

now sun is waking up, nets still playing same way..lead starting to be going away..same old same old!

  • CJSHYY

I know really don’t know what’s wrong w these players… every time in 2nd half they start to do all the wrong thing on court… smh!

  • james brown

its not a curse but the manner players play, motion but no offense!

  • CJSHYY

NO NO NO…. really don’t want to watch… we are really like all these bad teams… start to loss in 2nd half… smh!

  • sport

Saw it before it happened. The Nets came out playing cautious with bad/no movement. Not sure why KA doesn’t keep the same lineups. They are always different during 3rd quarter.

  • HVJoy

I wonder if the players are dehydrated or…? Why is 3Q performance always lackluster?

  • sws94

Disturbing pattern. Coach has to figure it out and change things.

  • CJSHYY

KA is not really do anything to improve… smh!

  • james brown

no solution yet by the coach..they play complacent and no urgency for a win..meaning no killer instinct yet

  • Win

Can we just come out and blow out the opponent once after leading at the half?

  • CJSHYY

In his mind… if we can’t win it’s OK we can develop young… smh! I hate that…

  • sport

Nets still have the lead at least. So glad Harris is back in.

  • Win

I like how RHJ play tonight, so aggressive!

  • CJSHYY

Tell KA… Coach we try to win now.

  • Win

    4 team fouls, bonus time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Epie

I think he watched JLin’s highlights

  • james brown

maybe yes, KA’s pattern right now is dependent on how he wants the game to play..nets games now are on coach and not on his players (development and experiment)

  • psalm234

    Great ball movement!
    Bojan 3

    72-61

  • HVJoy

Bog finally got his 1st basket – 1/5

Playing like JLin except he can’t score at all. He’s lucky to get foul calls right now.

  • aggressiveplayer

Looking better holding the lead now.

  • sport

Or learning by playing against JLin during training. I won’t be surprised if JLin gave him some advice as well.

  • CJSHYY

    Still 6 more min… please keep going….

  • sws94

He called a timeout. Wasn’t happy. So, maybe they get tight in the 3Q for some reason.

  • psalm234

Nets ball movement is much better. More 3s will seal the W!

  • Win

    Yeah. 20 pts blow out!!!

  • HVJoy

    still leading by 10 pts…

  • psalm234

    Skil JAM!
    74-62

  • Win

What is up with all these careless rebound????

  • Win

LOL. RHJ can’t finish at all no matter how easy it is.

  • sws94

    They are back in sync.

  • cshot

why are we playing through rondae?

  • psalm234

For a moment, he looked like losing focus

  • sport

Yes can’t score out or inside at all. Doing his best Lin impersonation by charging at the rim continuously.

  • Epie

whoever with headbands gets to shoot first, it’s a new thing.

  • sport

Not too different from why is RHJ starting and not benched? Ask coach Atkinson.

  • cshot

ill give him a call tonight ;D

  • james brown

spot up observation..he can’t do it because he’s lesser player than Jlin..his BBIQ is a bit loose and lacks the finishing touches.

  • Win

Wow, why the h*** RHJ force the shot so early???

  • sport

While at it, tell him Harris and Kilpatrick should start and the new lineup should be Lin, Lopez, Harris, Kilpatrick, and Booker.

  • cshot

    stop rondaae stop plz plz

  • sport

Harris doing well inside and out! Offense putback.

  • sport

RHJ….is sabotaging the team. Can Atkinson just take him out!! How long do you need to conclude this player just doesn’t have it!

  • james brown

see what i mean..he tries but don’t know what to do when in a bind…and lots of play given by KA?

  • Win

That was a foul on Scolal. I am really sick of these refs….

  • cshot

let lin shoot like rondae and he’ll give yah 50

  • HVJoy

Nets lead is down from 13 to 5. 🙁

  • Win

And a bad sub by KA, should have at least leave Klip in the game.

  • james brown

RJH shouldn’t get so much time when playing out of control!

  • HVJoy

    Long 3 from Foye!!

  • Win

If he stop trying to do too much, he is ok on the defensive end.

  • BobbyH

showcase for a trade, I hope.

  • james brown

and nobody is calling plays and no players aware whats happening inside

  • Win

    I like Foye!

  • Win

Shouldn’t blame JH. It is booker, why the h*** he always want to push the ball?

  • Win

A veteran like booker should have aware of the shot clock situation.

  • psalm234

Coach KA called great plays after TO. Quick 2 + Foye 3!

  • cshot

stop leaving the 3 point shooter god dam

  • james brown

how can you showcase a player out of control????maybe that’s why he’s playing this way because he knew he’s on the trading block!

  • Win

I luv Booker aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. But him too and RHJ, can you two stop trying to do too much and play team game?

  • BobbyH

It feels like a NFL team without a quarterback that keeps using running game to blindly push and hit and wall and stumble or fumble.

  • james brown

everybody know and should be aware of what’s happening inside the court..they call it court awareness, unfortunately just like the commentator , harris sometimes forget how to think and just play with the ball

  • sport

All he needed to do was take RHJ out! But instead he changed the entire lineup.

  • james brown

    preach it brother!

  • Win

    These &#)*&$#*&$)*&$ ref!!!!

  • CJSHYY

I don’t like Scola… his SOP-miss, foul, TO. He should be traded if any team wants him. smh!

  • HVJoy

uh oh, the Nets lead is down to 4 – 4Q 10:42

  • Win

How the h*** that was a foul on Scola?????????

  • james brown

scola just defend but don’t know who?

  • cshot

scola why would you try to screen him while defending lol

  • CJSHYY

We have to get this one bc next three games pretty much a L. smh!

  • Win

That wasn’t on Scole, that was on the #)*)#&@)# &#*@&# ref. Scola got hit in the head when rebounding and no call. And on the other hand a BS call on Scola.

  • Win

    THESE #(&@*&(*#&@#&_@&(_*_ REFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HVJoy

Are the Refs trying to give the game to the Suns?

  • james brown

his double does not warrant not seeing whose on his back…his man and his defense he leaves

  • cshot

    late @ss whistle

  • CJSHYY

Only 2 now… smh! Bring in the starters. KA.

  • HVJoy

Finally 1 fouls call for Nets after 3 for Suns.

  • BobbyH

    It is all iso plays.

  • psalm234

Scola 2 + rebound are huge!!!

  • HVJoy

Thank you, Harris – 3 points!

  • CJSHYY

Typical Nets game in 2nd half… smh!

  • Win

That why I don’t watch NBA games unless Lin is playing. These damn call are just plain stupid and it change the result of the game.

  • cshot

such a trash team and we still struggling

  • HVJoy

    Scola’s 2 makes it 4 pts lead!

  • CJSHYY

Bc we are not good either.

  • Win

    Tks the #*_*_$#*(_*4(*$#&^$&*^#*) REFS!!!!!!!!!!

  • sport

Harris saves the day! Another 3!

  • aggressiveplayer

These refs may have turned the tide… we’re going to be less physical on defense now.

  • Win

consecutive no calls on Nets + consecutive touch foul calls for Suns.

  • cshot

id rather give the ball to bogie than rhj. opinions? lol

  • psalm234

Phew 2pt lead back 7pt lead

  • HVJoy

We are short-handed – without our starting star PG!!

  • Win

psalm, can you beat up these Refs for me? Lol.

  • Joe what do you know

    They are about equally bad…

  • psalm234

Hehe those guards are huge too

  • Win

    🙂

  • cshot

at least bogie shoots a little better

  • CJSHYY

Did you see Lin’s practice shooting?

  • psalm234

    Not tonight maybe afternoon

  • Win

Blow them out now. Don’t give them any chance.

  • Win

Wow the foul on Foye on Bledsoe are super BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sport

Bledsoe created that contact total BS!

  • Joe what do you know

Unless he happens to be hot on the day, he might even be worse since he has no handles and loves to force the issue.

  • Win

If we lose this game, it is because of these Refs again and again and again.

  • HVJoy

    Hamilton 3!

  • Epie

    Thank you..

  • Win

Kilp 2 TOs in a row

  • Click Click
  • HVJoy

He may be running out of gas 🙁

  • cshot

    sean with the poor handles

  • Win

    Nooooooooooo

  • psalm234

    Skil fouled but not called

  • sport

Nets have bad ball handlers and passers. So many TOs.

  • james brown

that’s on Lopez for not following for a roll..sometimes i don’t know why they allow their teammates to be doubled team?

  • sws94

    He was fouled.

  • Win

Is it because Nets own by a Russian owner? Almost every single game the calls are favor the other team….

  • james brown

he just subbed couple of minutes ago…

  • james brown

Bojan a ball handler is a mistake!

  • Win

That;s was an push off by Devin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ($*#_@(*_ these refs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • psalm234

Booker upset no foul was called

  • Win

    Final ******* ly!!!!!!!!

  • HVJoy

Good FT by Booker! 2/2. What happened to his headband?

  • Epie

He threw it on the floor

  • aggressiveplayer

Booker was mad at these no calls

  • psalm234

He got si upset to ref he THREw it down hard 😄

  • cshot

sigh this game hahaa. stressful without lin

  • Win

Stressful because of these damn Refs!

  • james brown

that’s what RJH should be doing..cutting without the ball

  • cshot

yes rondae…cut to the basket cut cut cut… NO ISO DRIBBLING

  • psalm234

    Too much ref home calls

  • cshot

    great minds think alike

  • james brown

    LOL!!!

  • sport

Yet that Suns player had the nerve to complain. Should’ve been a technical foul on him!

  • james brown

i can take it for as long as nets plays with composure

  • JW
  • Win

Devin push off and hit the jumper too. That was an offensive foul.

  • Win

Bog not good at handling at all.

  • CJSHYY

So happy finally up to 10 now.

  • Win

    Booker!

  • sport

And still complaining after time out. Nets better win this! Hate the Suns bunch of losers and Lin haters!

  • cshot

rondae hits all ft yet has a broken j…. very weird

  • HVJoy

He needs it – played well with the headband. 🙂

  • aggressiveplayer

    ITS GAME

  • CJSHYY

I think we can get this one…

  • Win

    Brook3333333333333333333333

  • psalm234

Brook 3 is nail in the coffin!

  • LimitedEdition

    Good win!

  • sport

Booker feasting in the rim! So glad we have him!

  • Win

    Take that you stupid refs!!!!!!

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Finally… We can get this one for sure.

  • HVJoy

    The final victory is approaching.

  • Win

RHJ made a very good pass to Booker. That was nice.

  • psalm234

People started leaving after Brook 3 😅😅😅

  • sport

And Lopez seals it with the wide open 3. LOL defenders still not respecting his 3 point shot and he will make them pay every time. Game over and Nets got this!

  • CJSHYY

Good… haha! We can win this one.

  • Win

Good, a great chance for you to knock down one of the ref.

  • sws94

RHJ is raw but he has a lot of physical talents.

  • james brown

nets has a lot to learn but this is a nice win on the road!

  • HVJoy

Some say with headband on he looks like Lebron James. 🙂

    19 pts and 8 rebounds!

  • Win

Great win!!!! Should be a blow out game by 20ish

  • aras

Rondae is a talent! got lots of potential

  • CJSHYY

Probably the only one we will get. Anyway, so happy to get this one.

  • Win

Agree, I like the way he drives to the basket.

  • CaliUSMC

After this we will be in the 9th seed. Woot

  • psalm234

After the nail on the coffin, my wife said they bring out flowers and pailbearers 😄😅😊

  • Win

RHJ need to learn how to make better decision and stop trying to do too much.

  • cshot

clip, lakers, thund, and trailblazers……. tough tough tough road schedule ahead

  • HVJoy

So proud of our young squad! 1st road Win in the West!

  • Win

    Klip!!!!!!!!!!

  • james brown

that’s what supposed to happen if Nets only plays with heart in the beginning, but i get the win in whatever package it may be..LOL!!!next game is a50/50 chances of winning too!Team needs to learn , and learn fast!

  • Win

Harris!!!!!! Other teams better start respect our shooters baby. We can shoot man!!!!!

  • sport

1st road win and they closed it 20 to 6 woot!!!

  • Epie

    YES

  • james brown

    second the motion!

  • cshot

hopefully we can pull a win over the lakers. thats the only real shot in the next 4 games lol (without lin anyways). hope hes back very soon

  • HVJoy

Congratulations for the 1st road win under coach Atkinson!!!

    4 Nets scored over 19!

  • sport

Wonder how many times I need to restate start Harris and Kilpatrick until coach finally does! RHJ won’t be lucky to get these fouls every game when he can’t score/shoot to save himself.

  • Lin Dunn

This is a good day for me. Nets won! Spurs beat Rox, and Raptors beat Knicks.

  • aggressiveplayer

    8TH SEED HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BobbyH

AS long as Nets continues to outperform Knicks, I am OK.

  • sport

Only half then since Raptors are doing well. Want Nets to do better than the Raptors.

  • rookie75094

    Money,money,moooonneeeyyy.. 17 more wins…hehe

  • Lin Dunn

Raptors beat the Knicks today that is what I am happy about

  • Click Click

So impressed with this team. Nets are without Lin or a backup PG, but still playing gritty, inspired, good basketball.

Next game vs. Clippers is almost a guaranteed loss, but I’m happy Nets got this win. Good way to start off this road trip.

  • sport

That is a tough schedule and without Lin too.

  • Win

My 3g is like an extra bonus. 🙂

  • CJSHYY

    Haha! NYK lose today.

  • CaliUSMC

I really hope we beat the baby lakers.

  • Click Click

I’ll be happy if we can just stay competitive and win the Lakers game.

  • Win

    First clipper. I hope.

  • CJSHYY

I hope so but I don’t think we will be able to beat them bc they do play well now plus it’s B2B game for Nets.

  • sport

Kilpatrick and Foye were way better than the backup PGs like Vasquez and Whitehead that Atkinson was starting! Kilpatrick and Foye are the ones who should be their SG/PG all along! Still don’t like RHJ he got bailed out with the foul calls. His headband tricked the refs and they thought he was “Rondo” tonight.

  • HVJoy

Don’t underestimate the Brooklyn grit. 🙂 Nets may surprise us all.

  • FreetheMind

That was an awesome win! Hope Lin comes back soon. Any projection when?

  • sport

Wish Lin would be back next game. But Nets already said he will be evaluated Thursday.

  • HVJoy

Nets will evaluate his condition on Thursday.

  • CaliUSMC

He needs to hurry up and come back.. my life hasn’t been the same lol

  • CJSHYY

I don’t want him to rush back bc not good for him. Even I do want to see him plays….

  • sport

Lakers has young guys willing to compete not going to be easy.

  • Win

But you gotta give credit to RHJ on his defense tonight. Bledsoe and Booker combined for 6-26.

  • HVJoy

Same here. Great minds think alike. 🙂

  • sport

No he doesn’t he missed all his shots and just go points cause the refs gave him fouls! His shot is completely broken and he can’t make anything inside the rim even when wide open!

  • joy

    Me too!

  • Epie

If this team continues to improve, Lin’s job will be much easier when he returns. More AST for sure.

  • Click Click

    Never said it’ll be easy.

  • sport

That’s nothing if he can make anything on offense and no different from starting guys like Patrick Beverley. Not to mention RHJ’s defense is overrated. Bledsoe and Booker are just selfish chuckers.

  • Win

I also bet $50.00 on the Nets winning the Atlantic Division, the odd is 50.00 to win 10,000.00

  • CJSHYY
  • Win

Agreed on Bledsoe and Booker are just selfish chuckers. Suns have no future.

  • Click Click

RHJ played a complete game tonight. Give the man credit. He didn’t get bailed out by foul calls. He worked for those, just like Lin works for his foul calls.

  • Lin Dunn

    see coach Jlin

  • sport

    Glad you agree.

  • Win

If our team can play like this without Lin, Atlantic Division title is reachable if Lin is healthy. 🙂

  • sport

The only positive thing about this is I have more time to be productive with the extra free time from not watching these games.

  • Win

JH need to be on the floor during crunch time. The Nets best spot up shooter.

  • sport

Same here but I bet the more than 20.5 wins so I won’t lose the Atlantic Divison bet. It’s still early and if Lin stays healthy for the entire season I’m sure we can compete with Raptors’ record.

  • Win

Yup. Me too. Good luck buddy!

  • aggressiveplayer

RHJ played amazing tonight. The future is bright for this kid and this team. We can only get better and better.

  • sport

I know it’s bad but certain guys injury minus Lin was a good thing. Vasquez should’ve been cut before preseason. Whitehead should not be backup PG either. Kilpatrick and Harris are the guys you want to give heavy minutes to and hopefully KA will start them soon. I won’t mind if they traded RHJ during trading deadline he just doesn’t have it.

  • joy

IMO we’re not playing as good as the game against Pacers. We could be lose during last 2 minutes. The Suns’ shots were just off today 40/107. But I’m glad we won which boots our confidence.

  • Click Click
  • sport

Except he can’t shoot at all and have been like that for every game. Meanwhile guys like Kilpatrick and Harris have been outplaying him in every way! A coach should be fair and start his best guys. I’m not sure if it’s due to RHJ’s contract being bigger but whatever the reason RHJ isn’t a starter and reminds me of a worst version of Wesley Johnson.

  • CJSHYY
  • aggressiveplayer

Yes!! Unselfish basketball is the way to go!

  • blueCypher

I underestimated this team without Lin. They compete , plain and simple. Confident they can take one of the LA games.

  • Win

I felt like KA really like Whitehead and he is gonna get a lot of chance. Hope he can grow faster to help out the team.

  • aggressiveplayer

Both are pretty tough to be honest though. Clippers play incredible defense, and we’ll be playing a fresh Lakers team off a back to back.

  • sport

Yes and the coach purposely went to him down the stretch when the game was on the line!

  • joy

Glad to see Lin walks fine and looks stronger.

  • blueCypher

Yes both are tough. Lakers are definitely the “easier” one but they can do it.

  • sport

Lets hope Lin will stay healthy for the entire season and this injury is a blessing in disguise! 🙂

  • sport

Wow for real? better than the Heat and Grizz? wow and we aren’t even in the best form yet!

  • Win

Yup. I felt like he can stay with the second unit to add some offensive power but his minutes should be at least around 22-25.

  • aggressiveplayer

I hope so. I think it’d be huge for us if we can pull off either upset.

  • sport

Actually more like 25-30 and really Harris should be a starter!

  • blueCypher

When Lin comes back , we have solid back up back-court players , Kilpatrick, Whitehead, Foye. Future looking good

  • blueCypher

One win out of those 2 is icing on the cake in my eyes. They have beaten Phoenix and Minnesota , the must-wins, in the time Lin is out.

  • blueCypher

This team will have a better record than the Knicks by year’s end :))

  • Steppen03

JH is Justin or Joe ??
Both are good shooters that we need to compete.

  • sport

lol Lin being the coach on the floor. haha I can totally see him coaching his own team after his career ends.

  • aggressiveplayer

If they pull off either upset, with Lin, LeVert and Whitehead back. We’re going to be REALLY good.

  • Click Click

He’s not a good shooter, but he still made a few jumpers tonight. Shooting is not RHJ’s game. He played great tonight though. Give credit where credit is due.

  • Win

Sorry. Is Harris, Ham is mad good too as a backup stretch 5.

  • blueCypher

Oh ya, I forgot about Levert. Man , this team is going to be good. That is why they should not rush Lin back at all. Rather have him fully healthy and then we get all the weapons back.

  • aggressiveplayer

Agreed 100%. Don’t rush Lin back. Not worth it to get reinjured. Need him to play the rest of the season.

  • blueCypher

He should “feel 110%” and only then you put him out there 🙂

  • CJSHYY

    That’s for sure.

  • TTNN

they already have better record now.

  • joy

    Absolutely!

  • blueCypher

    Underrated, surprise team of 16-17

  • sport

For Whitehead he’s the only one I haven’t seen enough to conclude. Glad Vasquez is gone. I won’t be so tough and complaining so much on RHJ if he was just a bench player. Except RHJ is unfairly starting and hurting the team when there are obvious guys who are better than him!

  • sport

That’s a given, if they have better records than Celtics or Raptors then that’s something!

  • blueCypher

Off topic, but the Raptors jersey they were today were nice. They should switch to that for good 🙂

  • blueCypher

I think the Raptors will win the atlantic. The Celtics, kind of injury ridden, have not looked great so far.

  • Geoffrey

was RHJ possessed by JLin tonight? he’s becoming the 2nd best playmaker on this team…

  • Steppen03

Many ppl said Heat is going to one of the bad teams without DWade & Bosh …. I think they’ll be alright. Heat will be better than Wizards and we will be better than both of them .

  • sport

He fought tonight but definitely not great. The whole point of basketball is shooting but his shot is totally broken and he can’t even hit an open shot after getting to the rim. I just don’t think it’s fair for Harris, Foye, and Kilpatrick to be shooting better and defending better than him to not start.

  • blueCypher

spots 5-8 is gonna change so much during the season lol

  • sport

lol I forgot they don’t have Wade and Bosh already no wonder. What about Grizz though they were a pretty good before and they still have Marc Gasol right?

  • YESYESYES

Great game. Can you imagine how good Nets could be after Lin comes back? Playoffs seems possible.

  • sport

It’s a long season anything can happen but so for Raptors will be the favorites to win the division with their 7-2 record. Hopefully Nets will be better than Celtics that would make some noise. If Nets have better records than Raptors when the games even out that would be something!

  • blueCypher

Indeed. They will go on a streak 🙂

  • aras

Shot is broken true I said potential He has real good defense can handle the ball pretty well his midrange is alright. Hes got talent still young his second year as a player. You progress as a player each year. Silly how so many people bash rondae but as soon as someone says something about Lins game that is negative people go crazy. He had 20-13-4 held booker to 5-18 he can play.

  • YellowClaw

    This was exciting
I don’t know about you guys but I want Lin to just come back already and lead them to more Ws

  • blueCypher

Ya, but they should not rush him back. No lingering problems please…

  • hchao

Look at the numbers: Nets starters’ box score +/-: 17×4 + 15×1, and 6 players have double-digit PTS: 20×1+19×3 + 11×1 + 10×1 –the points made by the starters are like the points made by Warriors’ 4 star players in their previous game.

  • blueCypher

I actually have confidence in the Nets having a better record than the Celtics. But this raptors look like a 50+ win team.

  • sport

Lin lead the Hornets to 40+ win and playoffs even with selfish players. So if he stays healthy I think they have a chance.

  • blueCypher

Hornets won 48. Raptors last year were like 56 i think.

  • Steppen03

My new prediction: The CAVS, Raptors, Celtics, Hornets, #5. NETS, Hawks, Bulls, #8) Pistons, –>> NYK, Pacers, Heat, Wizards, Bucks,

  • blueCypher

    I got hawks top 4

  • Steppen03

Honestly, it’s SO hard to predict because #3 to #8 is anyone’s game to me. The Nets can sneak into Top 4 as well.

  • joy

Even Lin can’t help the team on the court but his contributions off the court are as equal important as on the court. He will come back in the right time.

  • blueCypher

Ok, so you have cavs and raptors as top2 hard lock

  • james brown

late last minutes was his best..no more pressure then, but 1st, 2nd and 3rd and early fourth, he was atrocious except than scoring

  • blueCypher

The cavs are engraved as #1 lol

  • Steppen03

Yup, CAVS and RAPTS are consistent. They are proven to be better teams than the rest.

  • james brown

well i saw differently..he wasn’t great and he was poorly defending. his shot and finisher werent that great and got some bum BB decision earlty on. his passing came of only when the pressure were off already and were sure winning the game. he played decent but NOT GREAT!

  • blueCypher

Agree. And DeRozan is suddenly this top3 league scorer. They can be better than last year.

  • james brown

well KA only sees a player who can be develop right now as for being a head coach. he needs to balance between a development coach and a s a head coach who must need to win games!

  • Steppen03

We can still win over the Lakers without JL7. Just take one step at a time. There’s no need for rushing JL7 right now… What I’d like to see is we’re going on a tear, winning streak when he is back.

  • james brown

winning culture MUST come from the Coaching staff first!

  • blueCypher

I hope, the Lakers have something good going on too. Walton is the right coach.

  • blueCypher

Nets gonna muck up the celtics pick hehe 🙂

  • Steppen03

Yeah, but the Hornets last season and this season is still a very good team. I underestimated Kemba. He’s a really good player and CCliff is a very good coach. They cannot replace Lin but they are still very good without him. Big Al and CL were replaceable.

  • Steppen03

Give RHJ some more time. JLin will bring the best of him. SKilp & Harris are great spark plugs off the bench – the 2nd unit can hold a lead and can even outduel other team and that’s what we need.

  • Steppen03

In this KA system – most minutes played should goes to JLin7 – leading everyone holding the fort. SKil and Harris just need more playing time, 22-25min.

  • psalm234

    good deductive reasoning 🙂

  • psalm234

    we did our parts 🙂
I prayed during those crucial FTs.. ALLIN! haha

I don’t think the Raptors are a lock at #2. My predictions are actually Cavs, Hawks, Raptors, Hornets, Celtics, Bulls, and then Nets will be fighting for spots 7-8 which is a complete tossup.

That’s for sure–Suns’ bench is no comparison to Lakers’.

They will land in LA at about 2 pm (LA time) on Sunday. The flight is only about an hour.

They could leave for OKC on Wednesday or Thursday. Their game is not until Friday in OKC.

I told my friend Jlin will go to the All-Stars. He laughed and wanted to bet. So we bet $40. Then I told him that the Nets would get into the playoffs. He laughed hysterically and said I was crazy. He’s never watched a Lin game. Another pundit who has an opinion on Lin with no basis.

  • Sueki

RHJ is the MVP tonight. He scored the most points plus his defense on Devan Booker was incredible.

Bojan’s ball handling skill needs to improve ASAP. He gave me heart attacks on several occasions.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There is a strange resemblance between Coach Atkinson and Lin.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With Byron Scott as the coach, you need Jason Kidd or Chris Paul to teach him coaching.

  • Kwok Wai Lai
  • james brown

so with Bojan..nets need to set this 2 up for them to have a good attempt at the basket..they can’t create for themselves otherwise they will lose the ball.

  • james brown

lets keep this list and when Nets gets to the playoff, show it on their faces!!!!

  • james brown

he’s not an mvp yet for his game today though played well within the last minutes of the game..lots of TO and he lost composure during the early stretch and couldn’t finish well ..Booker was the glue on this game and was the one who made an impact when team can’t do anything good!

  • james brown

    that’s precise observation on Bojan.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The best training for the bench is to let them start.

  • 1mtoldman

“reminds me of a worst version of wesley johnson” …that is a very accurate description. b4 this one game rhj was one of the worst in the league at his position; his (alleged) defensive +’s can’t compensate at all for his dreary to non-existent offense.

again: 1 game not as dreadful as he has been against one of the worst teams in the league. and he gets praise. praise for being not as bad as he’s been.

clearly on the season to date rhj (and combined with bogs at the 3) is the weakest link position on the team.

all the other positions (assuming lin healthy) would qualify as top half of the league vs. the others at their position.

it wont happen but a bogs/rhj (offense defense combo) trade for … (one solid 3) would be nice.

  • joy

Booker probably doesn’t know Lin was the king of the headband when he’s younger. Lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    PER of the roster:

    Brook Lopez 23.89 > 21.94
    Trevor Booker 17.64 < 19.79
    Sean Kilpatrick 16.3 < 15.98
    Bojan Bogdanovic 13.16 < 12.03
    Rondae Hollis-Jefferson 08.12 17.16
    Luis Scola 14.61 10.62
    Joe Harris 8.41 < 10.0
    Randy Foye 2.47 < 6.83

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah. We will just do that.

  • joy
  • Dan cohen

man yall are making me laugh. When they play well in a game, yall will suddenly say they will win 45 games.
If they play cr-p in a game, yall suddenly say they are dead in the water. Then there is RHJ bashing. Now there is RHJ praising?!

I understand that as I was like that after preseason when I first thought they can win over 40.

But stick with your predictions man. Be loyal to your predictions else it’s just bandwagoning.

I can see if you do that in say 15 games that make sense. Else a or 2 or even 3 games are noises in stats.

Now this game you see there are pnr in motion. I do not know who infuses that in pnr into that motion offense. Maybe it’s KA or maybe it’s JL influencing KA to say try infusing it.. because when lin is on da courta, there are pnr at times and I recalled that it’s him who make those calls at times.

Now it’s not so crazy to say JL communicate with KA to infuse pnr in there because he is the leader of the team and KA and JL communicates a lot, as oppose to in the past when some lin fans say maybe with a theory JL influence or tell the coaching staff this and that and I say no freaking way because he is just a role player and that’s a crazy thought. It’s not so crazy now and I’m saying it because I am a realist.

I am still sticking to my predict of over 40 games win because that’s the base. How far more depends of many things. I’ts like trading stocks.

  • james brown

nets can win more games if they learn to play the right way with less iso…I don’t still see the hype about RJH and Bojan but i can see potentials for as long as KA instill players discipline. i can see that win or lose is still on coaching staff and players need to learn what KA likes and adapt to it…the sooner the better. Ilike the team BUT there are growing Pains that we will feel and see in all aspects of the TEAM as a whole…

  • KHuang

UFC is WAY TOO PANSY for me.

Too SOFT compared to real life combat.

  • KHuang

    NO.

Joe Harris needs to be a complete player with his excellent athleticism and production, enough of the automatic 3 jacking that results in automatic bricks.

He needs to attack the rim consistently – ALL the Nets do.

  • Lin Dunn

According to TBall, RHJ should be PG and not Kilpatrick.

  • Dan cohen

yeah, and then if say lin does lead them to the playoff (with lin contributing a lot), they will give credit to KA and not lin… or maybe even give credit to lopez and rhj. So lin has to have great stats in order shut their mouths in order for the tactics of showing it to their face be effective.

  • Dan cohen

you know I think now the ref are not just basis on the player on microscopic level, but also on the team on a macroscopic level.

The way the treat star players and other players and no name ones are similar to the way the treat champion potential teams and other teams and ‘last place’ teams in theiir own views.

Many fouls was not call..maybe because home team advantage or maybe because they think sunna is a betta teama than da nettas. Even nets home team refs does’nt go their way at times.

  • Dan cohen

and it’s known by da media that they all ranka nettas as lasta place.. so media can influence things.

Got this from the other side…

Lin will be reevaluated on Thursday, and Whitehead will join the team Sunday.

    http://nypost.com/2016/11/13/o

—-Starting point guard Jeremy Lin, who strained his left hamstring on Nov. 2, made the trip, as did the Nets’ team doctors. Lin is expected to be reevaluated on Thursday, although playing Friday at Oklahoma City seems a very long shot.

“Rest assured, we’ll be cautious with him,’’ a source said of Lin.

Lin’s backup, Isaiah Whitehead, didn’t travel because of concussion protocols, but a source said he will join the team Sunday.

  • JLin fan from Australia

So happy two games that I watched were all ended up with a win! Enjoyed the game very much and glad to see our coach JLin at work:-)

I was in two mind about watching this game live when I learned JLin’s injury last week. Decided not to watch the game live when we heard JLin wouldn’t be able to go on the road games. Then on Friday I saw that JLin was packing for the trip. Another difficult decision. At this point not sure we were able to get the ticket close enough to see JLin’s action as a coach with very good price. Psalm worked hard and managed to find very good price tickets for me and @blubell. So we went:-)

One side note: Psalm went to 4 games which JLin played and this was the first game the team won but without JLin:-)

One thing I must say I spent more time taking pics of JLin that watching the game:-) 28 Oct game I spent 99% of my time to watch game and JLin. Not even taking pics once the game began.

The game wasn’t boring at all. Too bad that I wasn’t able to catch more Jlin’s interaction with Kenny and teammates…. It was neat to watch game live. The feeling/mood is so different than watching via TV/screen.

We were surrounded by loud Suns fans. I cared little. So when Nets made a basket, I clapped as loud as I could:-)

One observation: refs were so bias to the home team…Didn’t like refs at all! Glad that Nets still could get the win despite of the bias refs.

One Suns player was very danger to opponents. Glad that Nets player didn’t injure..That was a dirty player….

Besides recording plays, JLin also spent significant time in convo with individual players. Not sure who started the convo. Guess most of the time it was his teammates sought for his wisdom. He spent significant time with Hollis-Jefferson, Yogi, Sean Kilpatrick…..

I was rather surprised to see that JLin went to the sideline and called SKil over and talked to him when someone shoot the free throws… Believe the later part was caught by one of the fans.

JLin recorded all plays. He spent significant time in recording but he was fast… Guess he created all the short hand on plays:-)

JLin is definitely a willing sharer. He definitely helps his teammates to do better and what needs to work on and how to read the game… He didn’t have that kind of assistance when he was a rookies and so on. He had to learn in a tough way. So if any player wants to learn, he is more than willing to teach. That is my impression from watching games. His teammates appreciates his inputs. That was why his teammates showed their appreciation in Tweets, interviews….

I’m just glad that we did go and watched JLin’s coaching first hand. Good to see him as a player and as a coach. Obviously I prefer him to play but still I’m proud of him to support his teammates unconditionally.

I did see one significant interaction between KA and JLin in 4th qtr during a timeout.

One last thing I would like to share is JLin and Lopez. I was laughing at Lopez. I observed Lopez “loved” to sit besides JLin. Saw that when Lopez was off the court in 1st qtr, he looked to sit with JLin but then at the time Yogi was sitting besides JLin. So, when Lopez was out of the game, obviously Yogi was still sitting besides JLin and he continued to watch the game with JLin. He didn’t see Lopez was
looking at him and waiting for him to move over so that he could sit besides JLin. Lopez then had no choice but sat almost the last seat at the end of the bench. What happened next I was laughing hard was when there was a timeout/break/everyone stood up for a good play or something like that except JLin was still doing the record, I’ve never seen anyone moved so quickly and just sat down right besides JLin before anyone knew what was going on. This reminds me so much like children who wants to be with his favorite buddy and flight in a very subtle way:-)

Melody, Thank you so much for this fun report from the game. 🙂

  • TTNN

LOL, love the Lopez story, would love to see Yogi’s expression when he found out he lost his spot.

Can you explain the 4th Q KA and JLin interaction? I figure KA must be really on the same page with Lin to allow Lin side coach there, I think in NBA, assistant coach was not allowed to stand up and coaching as Lin did there. LOL

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

    More details please! Ty!

  • blueCypher

Hope he can come back by Portland Sunday game. But it looks like another week is in order.

  • JLin fan from Australia

The normal routine for timeout is all players on the bench stood up for players who played and coaches gathered at the court. Then coaches returns with HC sat on the chair and tells players what to do. This happened when this was over and JLin was standing and AK walked to him/JLin talked to him (hard to tell from a little distance away, Row 8 behind the bench) while everyone was still settling down. I believe it lasted for at least a min or two of convo. From 2 games I saw, I felt like JLin had more convo/interactions with AK than AK to his assistants. However, I must say I was too far to see AK chatted with his assistants if there was non obvious convo like he did with JLin. Their relationship was very unique. I’m not sure this is a norm for other team leaders to their HC as I’ve never followed other teams and watched games live. As far as I know, this is the first for me to witness such a unique relationship between JLin and AK.

  • JLin fan from Australia

Please ask specific questions and maybe I can answer that. @psalm234:disqus and @blubell can help to answer this as well:-)

  • JLin fan from Australia

I was behind the bench and couldn’t see the facial expressions. I watched their backside 95% of the time 🙂

Welcome! Wish I have more time to gather my thoughts but with all the traveling and my memory isn’t as good as pre cancer, it was hard to retain everything. • sport

For sure Booker and Harris were the best players of the game. Booker just took it to the rim and scored when the Nets couldn’t do anything. Harris kept making 3 to take back the lead that they were losing.

  • blueCypher

Understand, good to know. Although Nets are gonna be in the cautious side so I am assuming they are gonna keep him out until Boston game Wednesday following week.

  • CJSHYY

I hope so bc I don’t want him to come back if he’s not 100% yet.

I don’t understand this.. How is Kemba shooting 47% from 3 this year this is ridiculous. He just shot 3/4 from 3 in the Cavs game right now

  • grover chang

Hard work. He was known to have a good work ethic

  • aggressiveplayer

But 37% from 3 is already pretty good. To make a leap of anything over 3-4% when you’re already at that sort of efficiency is just ridiculous. Not to mention, it’s not like he’s shooting at low volume either.

  • CJSHYY

I am not a fan of Kemba but I really think he plays well this year.

  • TTNN

wow, that’s cool. You could tell Lin and coach has special bonding, that normally no player on a team do what Lin is doing, maybe except for LBJ, LOL. But looks like what Lin did is just KA’s extension, so Kenny is cool with him.

Best fighter in both divisions. First UFC fighter to hold belt in two weight classes. The more he wins- the more he gains control of UFC. He gets special treatment compared to everyone else. He’s literally making millions off every PPV versus some fighters making 50-60K per fight. Pretty sure a fighters union will be created (surprised that there is none), but will be stagnant… needs Conor to be the face and catalyst. Not sure he’s gonna do that, because he doesn’t seem to care for anyone but his brand. He’s using the Mayweather blueprint and its actually working in a business model (similar to WWE) that favors the owners rather than the fighters… He wants the $ that top level boxers make.. He knows he’ll never get that money from fights so he’s been pretty outspoken in trying to get a piece of the corporate share ever since the UFC since Zuffa (UFC) got bought out few months ago for like 4billion by WWE-IMG & various A-List celebrities…. It’s pretty crazy to me how this guy was basically on welfare 3 years ago and now is #1 in UFC Career fighter earnings and essentialy controls the UFC. I don’t really like the trash talking, but its entertaining and brings int he money. Whats undeniable is the fact that he has a fighting style that nobody seems to be able to crack (he outclasses everyone) and he’s actually willing to take risks and fight top level fighters unlike chicken Mayweather.

Again let me remind all of us the simple truth is
the best way to bring up your bench is to start them or at least give them starters minutes.
This is hard to do unless Lin gets hurt or your key players all play under minutes control.

  • james brown

i like news articles thats coming out pointing Jlin’s importance to the nets team..example of this and i quote:

“Thanks to Kenny Atkinson’s attention to detail, the fans have
something to root for. Thanks to Sean Marks’ committed vision and search
for the right roster, the fans have something to root for. Thanks to
Brook Lopez’s ever-reliable contributions and sharp wit, the Nets have
something to root for. Thanks to Trevor Booker, these Nets truly embody
that phrase Brooklyn Grit, and those fans have something to root for, too.

    But Jeremy Lin?

Well, Lin may just be the glue that’ll hold it all together, both on and off the court.”
[On and off the court, Jeremy Lin is the right leader for the Nets
by Benny Nadeau November 13, 2016]

  • james brown

i don’t know how TBall can even declare that RJH is a Pg right now in the absence of Jlin simply because he has no dribble and always lose the ball in almost all possession he made. Kilpat creates havoc and effective while RJh kills the momentum (if theres is) of the team. he can’t finish well and his shot selection unacceptable. his efficiency drops every time he drives to the basket because he loves to barge on pile of opponents player rather than trying to avoid guards.

this is an eye test and i am not a Basketball Guru, but i stand by what i see and i am not forcing everybody to accept this.
don’t get me wrong, RJH has potentials but he just need to hone to perfection his qualities like driving /cutting without the ball for a better position and let other (PG) creates the shot for him..ISO is not his thing right now(maybe in the near future i guess)

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Still I think PFV’s comments on the game is the best.

PFV is already a given, but right now more are noticing Jlin effect on and off the court for the nets team..

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Suns played into the hands of the Nets. The Nets have more talents running than the Suns. The Sun is the team that has played the fastest in NBA. Now the Nets beat them on their home court which makes the Nets the better team to play at fast pace.

RHJ has started to put things together and played at his strength driving to the basket and shot close to the basket. Once the team gets healthy, they have talents to compete in the league.

I don’t know his name. Believe he is one of the bench players…. It happened in the second half. From where I sat, the angle saw that he almost brought a serious injury to either SKil or Hollis-J and Booker…. Not sure whether they are the same players as I am not familiar with Suns players. Almost all ELITE athletes build their game by trial and error. What works for them eventually becomes instinct. Everything that they’ve done in the past to get them to the top becomes their way. It takes immense patience and determination to overcome that instinct. The player has to have the coach repeatedly backing him with confidence no matter how much he fails. Both him and his coach must be on the same page on the future that the coach envisions. Atkinson is such a positive influence to these guys and he deserves a lot of credit.

RHJ and Whiteside are succeeding as examples of this positive process.

As a tennis enthusiast and coach that has followed the game since the late 60s, I’ve seen how the reverse of this method has repeated from generation after generations of pros. It has always been by a self imposed limitations that many pro tennis players has frustratingly never reach their potentials. There’s been few I’ve seen through many decades that grow beyond much further than who they were when they turned pro. My years of watching pro tennis has taught me that very rarely does a player change the course of their battles with certain opponents. Andy Roddick was such an example. He had the best serve in the game with a powerful forehand to boot, yet he just could not beat Federer. The most intriguing was when Borg used to beat Connors, Connors would beat Vilas and Vilas would beat Borg. Often it’s other factors such as age, injuries or illness that ultimately change that result. Once a psychological superiority is set in place, players often follow what they believe is inevitable.

It’s self belief that makes or breaks on ELITE performance. In the case of Federer against Djokavic, the turning point was when Djokavic made a miraculous shot against Federer at a crucial point of the final of the US open. Before that it was Federer knowing he’d win and his psyche enable him to will the match out. Once he lost that mindset in that match, he lost that edge of self belief and doubted his ability to pull it off. Instead of patiently waiting with confidence for the opportunity to come, he was already rushing to end a point before losing control of it.

Athletes always talk about getting out of their own way. They know that high performance can be unlocked. THE REAL QUESTION IS HOW? Sports psychologists do this by maneuvering the emotions and psyche of their athletes by organizing their though processes. But no matter how much they try, they cannot do more than repeatedly tell them that they are good enough. In that sense, it’s a self delusion that lacks true strength of faith.

Many people wonder why Lin has the effect he has positive effects on his team. It’s not just knowing what to do in setting up plays. It’s also his faith and self belief that has a way of inspiring his teammates to make that transition in opening their minds and hearts to believing as well. It’s as if he’s exacting the very thing sports psychologist try so desperately to do with words. Lin does it with ease and so organically that few would care to notice. In sports, it’s confidence and self belief that brings out the best in people. Lin’s help to bring out the best in the Hornets last year was a result of his presence on the court as well as in their hearts. Walker’s shooting improvements have been a result of that injection of confidence and self belief.

Just as others here have noticed, the Lin effect lasts for a while, less than a year. What happens is so subtle that over time, that faith and confidence gets shaken. It may be as simple as a missed shot at the buzzer or a bad night or a series of losses in a row. Once confidence is shaken, the resolute to rebound is lost because Lin isn’t there to help them out of ruts. How many times did Lin save them over and over again in games last year? Who was there to change a negative losing attitude of self doubt when the Hornets lost the first 2 games to the Heat in the playoffs?

Lin isn’t just the glue guy, he is the tower of strength that others look to. Cho and Clifford realized that and didn’t want any part of that leadership in Charlotte. They wanted Kemba to shine for their own selfish reasons and not for the teams improvement. Too bad for them and now Lin’s talent is where it should be, to finish the magic of 2012 in NYC.

The one thing that sticks out to me the most about Lin’s game is his sheer athleticism.

As the fastest and toughest guy on the court (doesn’t matter who the opponent is), Lin is an impossible physical dilemma for NBA teams to solve.

Lin can’t be guarded with just one guy, he’s too strong and quick and crafty. Even when two guys are on Lin, he usually splits the trap anyway and fired hockey assists.

Then on defense, nobody can overpower Lin inside because he holds his position and blocks shots and rebounds in traffic like he’s a 7 foot center. And woe to anybody trying to score against Lin on the outside – they better have tons of screens and hope that Lin’s Nets teammates are sleeping defensively.

Lin singlehandedly distorts games like no player does in today’s NBA. He is the one guy in today’s game that opposing players and coaches have absolutely no answer for.

Regardless of how prejudiced NBA teams are against Lin, it doesn’t prevent him from being the prime concern of opponents no matter what fake superstar is on Lin’s team.

It would be interesting to see if Coach Kenny Atkinson makes a strategic decision to not play too minutes for all his players against the Clippers as the top team so they are well rested to try to win the game against the Lakers the next night. It would be prudent to think of this game as a development since it would be very difficult to win this game.

Furthermore, Jeremy Lin is recovering well from his hamstring injury by participating in afternoon shootaround before the Suns game but it is doubtful if he will come back early against the Lakers. The Nets will take extra precaution before Lin is ready to play again. He continued to mentor Sean Kilpatrick and Yogi Ferrell in their PG development in the Suns game from the sideline.

KEY OF THE GAME: Can the Nets continue their hot 3pt shooting at 39.2% in all their 4 wins? The Clippers is ranked #16 in allowing opponent 3P% at 34.4%, one spot behind the #15 Nets at 34.3% so they might have a competitive game if they manage to shoot exceptionally well from the 3pt-land.

    Good name indeed!

  • psalm234

yes, they have a good thing going.
They’ll be foolish to trade Brook who has his 3pt shots developing so well now
    Inside-outside threat! 🙂

it might be someone in the Nets team..
If yes, it’s a very good franchise

    Thank you.
The Refs at the game surely made some dubious calls.
