G81 CHA @ BOS Game Thread

With only 2 games remaining in the regular season, it seems the Hornets is entrenched as the 6th seed unless they can win out the last 2 games and other Eastern teams lose games.

  • Jeremy’s shooting was definitely impacted with the elbow bursitis as he has shot 23% FG (6-26) in 3 games after he shot well in the Raptors game with 46% FG (5-11). It would be better for him to rest in the final 2 games so he will be ready for the playoff.
  • Will Coach Clifford try to win this game with a small possibility to secure a home-court advantage? Then if it doesn’t work, he will rest key players for the final game vs Orlando?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray JLin can heal his injured elbows and shoulders to be ready for the playoff

  • Interesting, so Hinkie was so bad at relationship that it might prevent FAs to come to 76ers unless they get overpaid.

  • donsmacau

This was common knowledge. There is also a rumor that draft picks, in particular Kristaps Porzingas and his agents would NOT speak nor tryout in front of Hinkie

Why the Charlotte Hornets could win the NBA title
    http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/why-the-charlotte-hornets-could-win-the-nba-title-040616
Dieter Kurtenbach – Fox Sports writes that Charlotte’s identity as a “poor man’s Golden State”, the lack of a true contender in the Eastern Conference, and their ability to play well against the best teams in the league give them an outside shot at making the NBA finals.

This sportswriter mistakenly attributes the SPURS, CLE and TOR wins as team wins against the “best teams in the league”

THOSE wins were one-in-a-million, UN-reproducible, never gonna happen again occurrences UNLESS another 7pt Q1 or KEMBATUM injury.

JLIN’s under-the-radar performances on this team has given CHA respectability that it does NOT deserve and should NOT claim on the national stage.

  • donsmacau

This is actually a positive for JLIN because he will not demand to be “overpaid dramatically” to start for Sixers

  • BobbyH

Yes. But it all depends what the GM and HC want for their roster. PG is indeed a vital piece in rebuilding. If their goal is to rebuild the reputation quickly, they will target playoff as a must in next year.

With all available PGs on the market, who will come forth as obvious choice? Lin is indeed the front runner, not to mention to MDA connection.

  • Rick Johnson

People including Cliff apparently don’t want to look at why they won against Spurs, CLE & Toronto. Just attribute it to some fluke:

Message : Dolan chooses Carmelo over Phil Jackson

Recall Phil wanted to coach home games and Carmelo claimed in the press that was preposterous (not sure Melo actually knows that word)

Phil wants to install Rambis permanently and Melo (thus Dolan) obviously don’t

  • BobbyH

They both have to win the last game on Wednesday. But if Rox loss today and Jazz wins, both get in.

So here is the BS letter I got from the NBA. I’m sure other’s who wrote the NBA got the same response:

Thank you for contacting us. We take seriously matters related to officiating and appreciate you taking the time to reach out.

Contact that is deemed flagrant by referees and other hard contact (whether called or not) is reviewed by Basketball Operations after each game. During its review, Basketball Operations uses a set of criteria (which you can find here), multiple video angles and enhancements, and its comparable database to calibrate its judgment. When deemed appropriate, a postgame Flagrant Foul can be assessed (including for contact that was not called in the game), and applicable points, warnings, fines and/or suspensions are issued.

While some of the plays in the video you referenced involved hard contact, none was subsequently deemed a Flagrant Foul given the full circumstances, angles and comparables from past games. Referees do make mistakes, which means they miss calls that should have been made. When that occurs, we collect the data and provide referees with feedback to ensure improvement.

Thank you again for contacting us and for being a fan of Jeremy Lin and the NBA.

    Sincerely,

    Adam Bernstein

    NBA Fan Relations

  • Rick Johnson

Good, so that’s one less player that might compete with Lin for a starting PG position since I don’t want Lin to go there anyways.

  • DX

Same template, but change the last sentence.

  • David Ly

Well whatever it is, the matter has been escalated and you got an answer that was little less canned that referred
    to Jeremy.

  • sws94

Not satisfactory. Not one was deemed flagrant. Not one?

  • sws94

Boiler plate, form letter. That’s the NBA.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

next time, send them a letter regarding unfair calls towards Harden instead of Lin and see what kind of response you’ll get… “We will fire the referee in question right away!”

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

of course, Melo’s Agents control Dolan

  • BobbyH

I don’t think they will reverse the calls b/c these are the so called STARS we are talking about. Too many interested/faces involved. Agencies behind won’t allow it.

But at least this sends a message to them that we are watching. Hope they will send a memo to the refs and pay good care to it, pertaining to Lin. And hope China media picks it up and put some heat on them.

  • Rick Johnson

I think the more people send letters, emails they will get the message. I don’t think they would publicly admit it or do anything retroactively but perhaps send an internal memo to the ref’s to watch for these things and call them if it happens and that fans and fans in China is watching. The more they get flooded with emails and letters the more impact it will have and they will be pushed to do so.

What we really need is a secret recording smoking gun such as with Donald Sterling. Perhaps Kobe and Melo talking and joking about how they clobbered Lin.

  • Rick Johnson

Conley to the Rockets would be good to. Would eliminate one more competition going to somewhere I wouldn’t want JLin to go to.

  • heart

Thank you for posting this. This is a pure BS reply letter on its face value. The NBA wants this issue to go away, plain and simple:
    1) Quote: “a post game Flagrant Foul can be assessed (including for contact that was not called in the game), and applicable points, warnings, fines and/or suspensions are issued.”– These blatant flagrant fouls involved those marquee players, (Kobe, Melo & Harden) that the NBA elevate and protect. So of course, it would be an embarrassment for them to admit wrong.
    2) Quote: “none was subsequently deemed a Flagrant Foul…”– Almost everyone, expert or not, watching this video cringe and conclude that these were flagrant fouls against Lin. The first of a wrong is denial, and the NBA is denying the obvious fact. It will come back to haunt them!

  • BobbyH

  • donsmacau

Well since JLIN is playing that should be great for the Bench force.

Difficult to describe how negatively Al impacted the WAS game. He was disastrous on both ends, his lack of speed, his lack of defense, especially P&R defense, his ability to destroy ball movement or any game flow single handedly can neuter the effectiveness of the bench.

Hope he stays with the Starters for the entire playoffs.

  • grover chang

Happy Asian American Night Jeremy LIn. Here is a high five to your face!!!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Goodness me. Can’t believe! I’ve sent two letters in two different accounts and yet I received no response from NBA.

  • grover chang

Do Hornets really need to win this game. I prefer the important players gets some rest. Mainly Jeremy LIn.

  • donsmacau

Clifford doesn’t appear to be a coach who believes in rest for players. Ideally JLIN, Batum, Marv, Kemba should be rested

MKG first game back played 35 min, not what I would call easing someone back from injury.

Jeremy Lin Flagrant Fouls Video & Letter Results in Big F U From the NBA.

“For those expecting the NBA to admit to its mistakes or some intentional wrongdoing, they’ll have to wait for the next opportunity. The video created to showcase Jeremy Lin getting viciously fouled again and again without a flagrant foul ever being called also had an email accompanying it sent to the league. The NBA responded with a middle finger, pretty much saying they couldn’t care less.”

  • orLinaryjoe

Besides the two words, what says asian americans on that shirt?

  • NBA won’t admit their refs are wrong in fear this will blow up as racism. They hope this will go away

What a non-sensical response based on circumstances/angles based on past games, not even their rules

    @NBA basically said
“Not even FF review is needed.n Stars may decapitate/uppercut heads & get away like in past gms ” SMH

But all eyes are on them if similar hard fouls on JLin are not being reviewed from now on

@NBA needs to look at the Flagrant Foul rules on unnecessary/excessive contact & at least review them even if the stars commit the FFs.
    https://twitter.com/JLinPortal/status/719654221495160833

  • Rick Johnson

That’s a long shot. You’d have to beat the Celtics at home on 2nd game of a B2B and then also beat the Magic. Celtic then got to lose to the Heat and the Heat have to lose to the Pistons. Only way Hornets get 4th seed.

  • heart

    1) Thank you Greg Owens from Sportige. I think he’s as upset as me. He sums up my feeling about the NBA reply letter. The NBA is dismissing Lin’s case and us Lin fans who are advocating for him.
    2) @Psalm or someone could you ask Joy Jeng to translate the NBA reply letter to Chinese and post on social media so Lin fans in Asia can know how the NBA think of us and Lin. Asia news media need to pick up on this NBA reply letter too.

  • Rick Johnson

They had to have there PR people create a form letter response. If you sent an email now I’d bet you’d get exactly the same letter.

  • Rick Johnson

0-4, SMH. Didn’t JLin and the Lakers beat IT and the Celtics with the woeful Lakers? That’s the game Kobe frowned on them celebrating on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Cliff should know who knows how to beat the Celtics.

  • takeme2cruz

You put the wrong guard to play him.

  • takeme2cruz

What we need is to wait until if it happens again then send it to the NBA the very next day. They will not start apologizing because it will open the flood gate to many other players’ complaints.

  • Win

We should definitely show this letter to the Asian Media and this is the only way to scare the XXXX out of the NBA Marketing Department.

(蘋果日報) would be nice as they are pretty famous in Taiwan and Hong Kong and they have already reported about this story.

  • heart

It’s not IT alone that beat the Hornets. It’s Celtics entire team and coach, BStevens that have defeated the Hornets and its starting line up and Clifford!

  • heart

That’s what I said. Please have Joy Jeng or someone translate this letter and send it to Asia media press.

  • Rick Johnson

True. Lin beat them with Byron Scott as coach. I think that is one game Scott wanted to win despite the tanking due to the Lakers, Celtics rivalry so he unleased Lin. Then promptly put him back in the bottle.

  • sws94

Miami was able to slow him down a lot.

  • Rick Johnson

Not much difference between 6 and 5. You’re better off resting your main players or players that are banged up to be ready for the playoffs.

  • zxcvb

Lin is going to destroy Cliff and the Hornets next year. He even did as a Laker, but BS’ tanking sealed it late.

  • Rick Johnson

Yes, just give him the tools, the ball and take off the leash. 76ers looks like they have some good young bigs.

  • Rick Johnson

Should run it past Ronnie Nunn (ex NBA official) first so a bunch of 50/50 calls don’t get pushed as flagrant fouls.

  • Win

I am so piss at NBA which I not even in the mood to watch the Celtics Hornets game now. 🙁

  • Rick Johnson

I like Al as a person (stands up for Lin) but I think his play style bogs down BF1. They do okay but don’t dominate 2nd units like they used to. Hopefully we will see a better BF1 tonight. https://twitter.com/HornetsPR/status/719666585837965312

Hurts whole team more than helps

  • Alain Gervais

Nothing can stop Lin when he is going. I mean no one

  • LinMad

Lin too smart he will just start passing to the open man

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    no pony tails, no problem!

  • Rick Johnson

Hard facial hits going to start coming. See if refs call them. Only way Celtics can slow down Lin when he gets going.

  • David Kim

Lin gets call a lot. May be because of the video ?? LOL

  • Win

    Very very possible.

  • HVJoy

    13 points already at 6:00 2Q!

  • cdblue10

You still need him,he’s the only big that can consistently score on this team

  • Rick Johnson

NBA sent out a memo to the refs. “we are reviewing all Lin plays so watch it.”

  • David Ly

Knew that 1st quarter shot would help his confidence and propel him this quarter to dominate. It’s on both sides of the floor causing turnovers and even defending at the rim.

  • CJSHYY

    I sure hope so…

  • zxcvb

I wouldn’t rule it out! Despite the insulting pro forma letter, the league/refs are now aware.

Ronnie Nunn is no joke! He’s respected and a former ref supervisor.

  • DX

No problem, Lin will get more ast. then.

  • LinMad

I want to see Lin kill IT, i remember IT pushed him to the ground and the refs didn’t whistle.

  • CJSHYY

    Me too.

  • zxcvb

He needs to touch the ball like a real PG, even if he’s not shooting. Kemba froze him out but in the 2nd quarter, he’s touching it almost every possession, even as a mere passer.

  • Lefon Jang

    222222222

  • DX

Maybe, another reason is close to playoff.

  • LinMad

    Lin don’t give a …..

  • donsmacau

Other players can and did pick up Al’s scoring.

Al destroys team ball movement, energy and makes a big hole in the defense

  • Lefon Jang

    15 pts & counting…

  • cdblue10

15 pt’s and this is the Celtics D

  • JJ Hui

    22222222

  • LinMad

15 pts and great defense, best D and O on team so far

  • cshot

    ON FIYAYAYAYAYAYAAAAAA

  • Win

Kemba D tonight is worrying me

  • HVJoy

    I certainly hope so!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

can’t wait for Brad Steven’s post game interview
don’t care so much about Clifford’s

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin going to the line

  • cdblue10

    Nice penetration

  • Lefon Jang

    1st FT good

  • zxcvb

GIVE LIN THE BALL. Not just once a week, but every game.

Easy Prediction: MJ is going to fire Cliff and Cho after next year. Lin will beast for PHI/BKN and CHA reverts to the mean with Kemba.

  • LinMad

2 FTs, refs finally whistling. We all heard that wrist slap.

  • Lefon Jang

    Both good

  • Lefon Jang

    17 pts and counting…

  • KWC

He scores their last 11 points

  • zxcvb

Cliff spends more time praising other teams’ players than Lin.

  • CaliUSMC

whoa tuned in late.. Lin with 17 smackers!? niCE!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

refs actually calling hard fouls for Lin. normally, he’d have to bleed for them to call it

  • Rick Johnson
  • BobbyH

Hope this is not a one game flash from NBA and ref. Season is going to end soon. Let’s spread the video in the beginning of the next season to remind NBA.

  • JJ Hui

But i dont have to hear SReady and i am happy

  • cdblue10

Al needs to learn how to defend the PnR

  • LinMad

aww man i hope the rest of the players aren’t cold

  • KWC

    Bradley foul trouble

  • zxcvb

Notice how when Lin is hot, the TEAM succeeds. Lead GROWS.

  • HVJoy

Let Lin play PG! It pays off for the team!

  • Lefon Jang

nice pass by lin to kemba – clear path foul

  • cdblue10

Nice lead pass by Lin that’s a clear path

  • Joe what do you know

Wow! Looks like that video really worked wonders. Refs giving Lin all sorts of calls.

  • LinMad

    they pass better too

  • CaliUSMC

Why did lin pass that to NB. Guarantee Kemba/NB would have shot it if they were in Lin shoes

  • Rick Johnson
  • LinMad

i thik he wanted to drive but too many defenders inside plus we all know Lin is not that type of player. He will try to involve others.

  • zxcvb

All part of the Lin Effect. More sharing, more energy, more defense.

  • cshot

    clear path

  • David Ly

Lin still unselfish even thought he is on fire.

  • Alain Gervais

    Bradley cant guard Lin

  • cdblue10

They can’t guard him he’s in the zone

  • Lefon Jang

Bradley picked up foul no. 4 from Lin

  • LinMad

4 fouls already on Bradley lol

  • zxcvb

Even when he scores big, it’s through team ball. Never forgets his teammates like Kemba does.

  • CaliUSMC

Dude the refs are calling for Lin? I’m rubbing my eyes bloodsport style..

  • blueCypher

I tune out for a bit and Lin explodes , 🙂

  • Lefon Jang

    Both FT good by LIn

  • Rick Johnson

Bradley in foul trouble now LOL

  • zxcvb

    Social media really is something…

  • KWC

    Get them more fouls!

  • Lefon Jang

Another steal by Lin, Kemba scored!!!

  • Win

    Lin got calls all night!!!

  • cdblue10

Steal an assist what the fck

  • LinMad

wow Lin is a beast on both sides of the court

  • Rick Johnson

Boston Anoucer: “there’s the backup point guard causing havoc”

  • Joe what do you know

Gee Lin is unstoppable when refs are being fair. It is almost amusing how desperate the Celtics players and their commentators are whining in despair.

  • CaliUSMC

Dude wth are the celtics doing?? wtffff

  • JJ Hui

Haha! are the referees got the memo! Lin got to shoot on the line!

  • KWC

The whole team is stealing left and right

  • Alain Gervais

    Omg Lin shows no mercy

  • LinMad

we look like a championship team right now

  • Lefon Jang

    19 pts !!!

  • blueCypher

I still say if they can poisition themselves at #6 they should do it

  • CaliUSMC

19pts / 4steals.. amazing statline already.. im hypEdd

  • zxcvb

LINNNNN. Even though he’s on fire, he’s STILL giving Kemba easy buckets.

  • Rick Johnson

They got a memo? “no hard fouls on Lin on Asian American night”

  • KWC

Why you slack on the assists Lin!!!!

  • JoeTeam

So nice to see your comments here and get the game going. V nice run today!

  • Rick Johnson

That’s how a REAL point guard plays.

  • Lefon Jang

Evan Turner couldnt guard Lin so Bradley had to stay in. Now he’s got 4 fouls because of Lin.

  • cdblue10

Stevens:WE can’t stop Lin that’s the post game comments

  • Win

That just show how good he is.

  • BobbyH

What is the recorded steal in a game?

  • CaliUSMC

    Haha guess so

  • LinMad

Lin killed us and then he buried us

  • David Ly

Wow best quarter for Lin in the season.

  • cshot

kemba taking a page out of jeremys steal manual

  • Win

    A TRUE PG!

  • zxcvb

    Lin >>>>>>>>> Kemba

Jeremy can make the entire team better. Kemba only plays for himself.

  • DX

OMG, if this isn’t Linsanity, what is?

  • zxcvb

    Both ends.

  • HVJoy

Lin plays PG, great facilitation! And, he is getting fair foul calls!

  • LinMad

    pass too strong KW

  • Lefon Jang

Bad pass by Kemba but Lin blamed himself

  • Alain Gervais

Its better….. Yea i said it

  • Win

Kemba D was pretty good too after he sub back in.

  • zxcvb

MDA and Bryan Colangelo watching…and dealing?

  • LinMad

that pass bounced off Lin’s hands and went at about 100 mph into the people behind

  • Alain Gervais

    Its about Lin right now

  • cdblue10

    Deja vu

  • sws94

    Ewing butt slapped Lin. Yes.

  • Hans

If Cliff AND Kemba would both learn from this game, this is how to play team ball effectively!! Playing Lin doesn’t marginalize Kemba!!

  • Win

    Pass was too hard.

  • LinMad

    Lin setting the example

  • Alain Gervais
  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup. Yao Ming can’t catch that path

  • LinMad

this how Cliff should play Lin in playoffs. Feed him the ball more.

  • CaliUSMC

That day when Lins gets a butt slap from Ewing/Jordan on the same night..

  • zxcvb

When playoff time comes, CHA will revert to Kemba Ball. Especially if Kemba starts a game “hot” and Lin misses 1-2 shots.

  • donsmacau

    You know they are:
    Jerry C.
    Bryan C.
    MDA

  • xeroid

Due to a couple of open 3 misses by Hawes and Batum, otherwise there would have 2 more assists.

  • David Ly

    Hahaha hilarious!

  • cshot

i know nathan is jumping off his couch while eating his chinese take out rightnow

  • zxcvb

Cliff never learns and Kemba won’t share for more than 1 game at a time.

  • cdblue10

Kemba would still be a liability in playoff,Cliff need to cut his playing time

  • zxcvb

“This is the guy. Trust me.” – MDA

  • cdblue10

That’s why you need AL no matter what

  • donsmacau

Could only happen if you IGNORE ….

… Big Al in the low post — go back watch yesterday’s game

  • LinMad

When Lin plays well, team plays well.

  • Lefon Jang

    19 pts 4 steals

  • CaliUSMC

    almost 33333333333333333333

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

19 points on 6 shot attempts!

  • Lefon Jang

Not playing with Al is a blessing

  • blueCypher

I will reserve judgement until I see the first playoff game

  • KWC

Don’t let up, don’t let them come back.

  • Rick Johnson
  • cdblue10

    Hahahaha

  • Lefon Jang

    block shot by Lin

  • LinMad

    We killing hard, not softly

  • KWC

Now he has something in every category

  • Lefon Jang

    loose ball saved by Lin!

  • HVJoy

    ha ha

  • cdblue10

Hahaha 8 Lin on the court right now.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin is fouled. FT

  • LinMad

    Lin getting it!

  • Lefon Jang

    1st good 20pts

  • Lefon Jang

    Both goods 21 pts

  • CaliUSMC

    21 smackaroos

  • LinMad

payback for IT pushing Lin to the ground the last time and smiling about it

  • cdblue10

He’s in the zone ,hard to stop him at this time

  • rookie75094

    Linsanity! !!!

  • Lefon Jang

“They’re 8 Jeremy Lin on the floor”

  • zxcvb

Lin is incredible on both ends.

  • Lefon Jang
  • CJSHYY

I think that video really helps for Lin. Haha!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

“Seems like there’s 8 Jeremy Lin’s on the court”

    Eric Collins

  • Rick Johnson

    31 – 3 run !!!

  • LinMad

21 pts actually…that interviewer got it wrong

  • cdblue10

If I’m Boston I’ll wave the white flag right now and prepare for the playoff.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i think the NBA’s response really helped piss Lin off

  • xeroid

    Lin from-11 to +16.

  • cshot

I am loving this lol. ERic collins is hilarious lol.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lmaooo

  • CaliUSMC

Lin going to shoot 20ft’s tonight. Getting them Harden calls man.. Life is good

  • my goodness.. #LINDomination!
    😀

  • Rick Johnson

Stevens better brush off and bring that quote back out.

  • zxcvb

That’s why he needs to start and not be benched quickly. Cliff STILL does not know this.

  • David Ly

    Almost 20 points!

  • JJ Hui

Lin scores well and defends well when he got unleashed!

  • zxcvb

Nah, they’re all correct calls. He’s just not being 70% cheated as usual!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i think Lin is auditioning for his next team

  • HVJoy

63-41 at half time. Charlotte leads by 22! Tremendous!

  • Basil

This is very unusual. Maybe the league took notice of the recent video that went viral.

  • Win

Lin is super good on both ends tonight!

  • sws94

Lin said he didn’t feel like he did the job for his team yesterday. Yesterday is history. He’s electric tonight. Linsanity extreme. Just, incredible.

  • CJSHYY

I wish this is playoff game… haha!

  • donsmacau

JLIN’s game is a present for new GM Bryan Colangelo

  • Rick Johnson

    Hurray for Master Lo !!!

  • David Ly

    21 points 4 steals 4 rebounds 1 block 1 steal 1 assist 0 turnovers in 16 min.

  • LinMad
  • Rick Johnson

    Wow

  • Joe what do you know

Hohohohyeeehaaa! 21pts on 7FGA!!!? That’s friggin insane!! Even Curry rarely achieve efficiency like this!!!

  • takeme2cruz

    Lin played 17 min straight.

  • cdblue10

Hahaha this is like a video game

  • CJSHYY

He did bad yesterday but it’s all OK now. LOL!

  • xeroid

1 negative, he’s only 1 of 3 from three points.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

and shot just 7 times! it takes kemba 20 shots to put up those kind of numbers

  • LinMad

that’s what I call Jeremy Lin on crack

  • zxcvb

There are only 4-5 NBA players that can take over a game on BOTH ENDS.

Even Curry cannot do that. Lebron can. Westbrook can. Kawhi can. And yes, Lin can. Obviously, Lin has not been given the fair opportunity to play with their touches and minutes, BUT technically speaking, almost nobody in the NBA, star or role player, can take over a game with offense AND defense. Very rare skill.

  • zxcvb

    *eye roll*

  • LinMad

    a hack/cheat code to a video game

  • CaliUSMC

2nd 30+pt game of the season is coming.. I feel itt

  • zxcvb

gassed but too good to yank. Cliff actually wants to win this, I guess.

  • cdblue10

    Pretty much

  • Alain Gervais

Some one yesterday said players other player have sparks of brilliance like Lin. Yea some player who are not star may have really good games but they don’t do that. Lin has these steph curry type games that is one of a kind. Thats why we watch Lin and not the other players with flashes of brilliance.

  • LinMad

Lin should start 3rd and close game. Lets get to 50 pts.

  • David Ly

Don’t think he had any touch fouls tonight. Even made a tough shot inside against Oleynik that could have been a foul. Harden fouls are beyond touch fouls. I’d call them wind fouls.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Glad to see Lin rebound in a huge way, specially after last night game.

    God is Great.

  • cdblue10

Turner is confabulated,he can’t believed who blocked him,I hope I can vine that sequence

  • zxcvb

Any other bench player who has shown half of Lin’s “sparks” is promoted to starter. Just look at Reggie/Lowry/Dragic/IT. It’s all about race and related BS. Just hope MDA and BC can save Lin this summer. Or maybe Atkinson and Marks in Brooklyn.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

10/10 FT’s. the Celtics can’t contain Lin at all

  • cshot

    SMOTY plz

  • HVJoy

    What a tremendous run!

  • takeme2cruz

I want to see that nasty block again.

  • LinMad

this could be one of those historic Linsanity games we can add to our list. Like the Cavs game and Spurs game and a few others this season.

  • JJ Hui

Just love it!! Celtic commentator said during half time “Linsanity in full effects!” I am glad i changed feed to tune out SReady

  • Rick Johnson

Dang, I hope this is a preview for the playoffs.

  • blueCypher

He got 10 FT, in the 1st half

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

but you missed Eric Collins’ very colorful commentating

  • zxcvb

They’re all fair calls, but I can’t help but think that viral video and letter campaign worked.

Bravo to the Lin fans who made that happen! You the real MVPs.

  • John Focker

The Eye of the Tiger…fan. LOL

  • not watching the game. would you say that all the fouls were legit fouls on him? not ticky-tack fouls?

  • Alain Gervais

    Yup. Cant argue that

  • JJ Hui

    What did he say?

  • John Focker

Took the words right out of my mouth!

  • takeme2cruz

    It’s sure brought great attention.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yes. some very hard. the refs finally called what they should have been calling

  • Win

The score of the 1st half of the wizards and the nets game is like an all star game score. lol.

  • LinMad

yes they were legit, Pump fakes, getting slap on wrist (I heard the slap), running into him when he drives in, etc.

  • blueCypher

Yup, fair fouls indeed. Haha, he going to the line like Harden from now on lol

  • grover chang

Biggest reason why I am hopeful for the playoffs. Not because Lin is hot but because walker is passing to Lin when he is hot.

  • Lefon Jang

You know what Brad Stevens is talking now in the locker room, “We have to stop Jeremy Lin in the second half.”

  • LinMad

Lin outscored the entire Celtics team in the 2nd quarter by 4 pts
    Jeremy Lin 17
    Boston Celtics 13

  • Alain Gervais

He had 10 FTs not bd at all lol

  • JJ Hui

I like Eric but i couldnt stand Ready! Can you share what Collin said? Thank you in advance!

  • Win

    Yup.

  • David Ly

“Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.” – Floyd Mayweather. What he has done tonight on both ends of the floor in 16 min. is an accomplishment and would be praised no matter what skin tone you have.

  • Rick Johnson
  • HVJoy

I wonder if that’s a record number of foul calls for Lin.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

he said “There must be 8 Jeremy Lin’s on the court, he’s everywhere!”

  • cdblue10

That probably is the constant litany from Stevens even before the game

  • cshot

i love eric collins but stephanie is reallyh annoying most of the times

  • @JLin7 domination in 1st half

    21pts/1ast/4rebs/4stls/1blk in ONLY 17 min!

    63-41 lead

  • heart

Remember the first layup basket when Lin was fouled hard and fell to the floor as we heard him yelled ‘hey’, I was holding my breadth to see if the ref blew his whistle. To my surprise he did. And I think at least for this game on Asian Night, the refs probably follow the protocol so far since they got the memo.

  • Joe what do you know

There’s definitely no superstar treatment towards him. But perhaps 1 or 2 looked to be 50/50 call. Could’ve gone either way but ref gave the benefit of doubt to Lin. I really think the viral video reined in the refs a lot. Very thankful for that.

  • LW

Is that ref bias against Lin video working wonders?

  • ViNuyork

wow—-he is ready for the playoff—

“They’re going to keep the library open for 24 hours in celebration at Harvard.” in response to Jeremy’s great half

  • John Focker

Celtics didn’t get the memo that Lin’s getting calls now… LOL

  • JJ Hui

Looks like referees got the memo from Silver! I really hope so.

  • CaliUSMC

Double Team coming for Lin in 2nd half? Hopefully our butterfinger bigs will be ready.

  • cdblue10

    I’ll rep this^

  • LW

So the ref bias against Lin video is working!

  • LinMad

Lin slowly climbing up NBA pulse. Now #5 on the list: http://www.nba.com/pulse/

He was #9 a few minutes ago.

  • Lefon Jang

Harden averages something like 15 pts if he doesn’t get the call

  • LinMad

legit calls, not James Harden calls.

  • zxcvb

Only 7 FGA too. Lot of his FTs were also “in the bonus” fouls.

Even on fire, he’s STILL trying to set up Kemba and Al and Marvin et al.

  • HVJoy

10 favorable calls in the 1st half!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

just think, if Lin were to be officiated fairly since the beginning of the season, he’s put up ridiculous numbers…

  • Joe what do you know

    In my mind definitely yes.

  • CaliUSMC

Lin not starting for 2nd half

  • cdblue10

Keep it coming Lin ,most people only remember the games during playoff season

  • jimmyL

    They are calling fouls now?

  • heart

At least on this Asian Night, we’ll see if they continue from now on.

  • ViNuyork

they refs know all Jlin fans are watching like a hawk and ready to create another video to prove their point after the dumb response from d NBA….haha

  • cshot

Sigh if only given consistent minutes and touches, these games woouldn’t be such a rarity

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

the Hornets are so stupid. they’re gonna let this guy walk in the off-season. smh

  • LinMad

Batum looks hurt, bring in Lin

  • Lefon Jang

    Batum is injured

  • Rick Johnson
  • cdblue10

    Shytt what happened to Batum

  • LinMad

    Lin in

  • FrankW

Wow, that must have been some sushi! I want some of that Jeremy.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin in

  • zxcvb

He hasn’t been used like this, though. Cliff would never allow it. Kemba is 100% the “star.” Lin is only unleashed here and there when Cliff doesn’t want to look incompetent. And he has against the Celts.

  • LinMad

This is like god’s intervention how Lin gets a good game and Batum gets hurt and Lin takes his place.

  • David Ly

Lin needs to come in at the 8 min mark.

  • CaliUSMC

    Celtics not playing any D

  • Lefon Jang

now Lin has to play with Al lol

  • zxcvb

No way. I got no prob with Batum. It;s that other guy causing trouble w/ selfishness.

  • CaliUSMC

He’s in already. Your feed is late

  • blueCypher

What does a win today do with their playoff positioning, still at 6 ?

  • HVJoy

So glad that fans’ complaint for non-call flagrant fouls paid off!

  • Lefon Jang

    Kemba travelled but no call

  • LinMad

i have nothing against Batum either. I hope he’s alright. Just saying this is kind of strange. What are the odds of Batum getting hurt and Lin coming in right away in the 3rd?

  • yes, Batum/Lin is very good!

  • David Ly

Did Batum fake the injury like a bro? Team player?

  • orLinaryjoe

Celtics and Announcers were so confused. They saw 8 Jeremy Lins out there! LOL 😀

  • vincent

damnnit Lin always playing well when I have an exam the next day lol

  • Alain Gervais

    It was something

  • Lefon Jang

    call in sick

  • LinMad

    did he?

  • Joe what do you know

    lmao. What was that Kemba!?

  • LinMad

they are double teaming Lin, guys are getting opened

  • Win

And SR try to cover it up. lol

  • LinMad

    good D by Lin

  • CaliUSMC

    williams heating up

  • LinMad

Lin will probably get to shoot in the 4th

  • zxcvb

    Kemba won’t pass to Lin.

  • zxcvb

Kemba freezing Lin out. Lin hasn’t touched the ball in 3m.

  • zxcvb

Doubt it. Kemba probably complained to Cliff.

  • CaliUSMC

Lee think he’s a baller. Stick to defense

  • CJSHYY

That’s normal. I guess Lin probably will not score that much in 2nd half.

  • LinMad

we losing the lead even though its a big lead

  • zxcvb

Lin’s hot scoring is probably done. Kemba is icing him and game may be over by the 4th.

  • Win

kemba is trying to throw this game away.

  • zxcvb

    Go away Kemba.

  • Lefon Jang

Between Kemba and Alfense, I don’t see Lin getting many touches

  • cdblue10

Take Walker out in this quarter and Hornets will blow up this lead

  • zxcvb

Kemba icing Lin. Doing everything he can to hurt his own teammate.

  • cshot

get jeremy in the offesne plz

  • LinMad

    garbage time probably in 4th

  • zxcvb

Jeremy has touched the ball only ONCE in 6m. Kemba is a dirtbag.

  • Lefon Jang

In that one touch he had a nice drive and almost made the basket!

  • vincent

is batum gonna be okay? I hope so we need him in the playoffs

  • Rick Johnson

    BBALLBREAKDOWN ‏@bballbreakdown 56s57 seconds ago
Three’s are great, and fun, and all. But when you have a big lead, and want to run clock, post ups are a great tool (see: Jefferson, Al)
    https://twitter.com/bballbreakdown/status/719692291263168512

  • If there is any doubt why JLin should leave the Hornets, this should be remembered

  • cshot

jeremys stats dont seem like they will go up with the way the offense is being run right now lol.

  • cdblue10

If he will get injured this team has no chance at all

  • zxcvb

Yep. If only he had some rhythm from a PG who wasn’t a selfish dummy!

  • LinMad

maybe let Lin touch the ball more and we can bring the lead to 50 pts

  • Rick Johnson

Hopefully. Anybody know if it was the same knee that was bothering him before?

  • HVJoy

    What happened to Batum?

  • LinMad

    Clifford/Kemba…

  • zxcvb

Yet Kemba is just hogging for himself and I guess Marvin bailout 3s.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba is such an awful point guard

  • vincent

yup unless cliff hands the keys over to Lin, which probably isnt going to happen

  • LinMad

And some Hornets fans wonder why Lin is inconsistent. He’s obviously being marginalized on this team. Lin only gets good games when someone is injured or when Lin can score like mad in little time where it would be strange for Clifford to sit Lin early.

  • if it keeps going up, it might stall the ongoing campaign 🙂

  • Rick Johnson

First half run started when Kemba sat. Hornets defense really tightened up creating offense.

  • Hans

Remember how the warriors were willing to bench Bogut in favor of Iguodala in order to beat the Cavs? Those are the type of bald moves that make teams great. Too bad Cliff and the hornets are too afraid to do that. Letting Lin play PG and Kemba score at will can only benefit the team as a whole. They just don’t get it. the vision is limited.

  • cshot

Seriously any other coach would just keep feeding the hot hand, but because hes Jeremy Lin, he gets put to a corner and watches while his teammates try to get going themselves

  • heart

They want their points so they stop short of passing to him, since they think he has ‘his’ already!

  • zxcvb

Just a turned ankle apparently. Nothing big.

  • vincent

yup this is james harden all over again

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i hope mayweather is watching this game and weeping

  • zxcvb

Lin might not score again — Kemba is going to make sure.

  • kauaiblue

    what happened??

  • donsmacau

Use JLIN to build a lead against unbeatable teams.

… then let the superstars take the final shots to give appearance they made the win.

  • LinMad

Lin feeds the hot hand to his teammates, they should do the same.

  • zxcvb

    Kemba Ball.

  • gandychan

    what happened to cody zeller?

  • CaliUSMC

    222222222222222222222222222222222222222

    2222222

  • LinMad

    2222222222222222

  • LinMad

Keep Lin attacking, he will get everyone in foul trouble

  • Lefon Jang

    22222222222

  • CaliUSMC

Lin got 0fouls/0to’s.. is this real life?

  • cshot

    LETS GO

  • LinMad

    2222222222222

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba can’t even stay in front of IT

  • LinMad

Lee blew it twice today from 2 good passes from Lin

  • vincent

wow charlotte’s facebook or twitter have not mentioned anything regarding Lin’s unbelievable first half… typical of them as Kemba’s 3 pointer is highlighted by them…

  • zxcvb

Lin is too good for this team. Kemba and Al might get Boston back into this game somehow.

  • Rick Johnson
  • zxcvb

SIT DOWN KEMBA. Watch the Linsanity Show, you rat.

  • Lefon Jang

Lin will start in the playoff

  • zxcvb

    Damn it, Lee.

  • LinMad

    IT mad lol

  • John Focker

We must thank JAD 7534 and company…

  • KWC

Should sit Lin now so he can start the 4th

  • CaliUSMC

    33333333333333333333 almost

  • Win

    He sucks! Overrated. Cant D

  • vincent

Stephen Silas should be the head coach lol hes always held lin in high esteem

  • cshot

of course kemba shoots the technical lol. lin is perfect from the line

  • zxcvb

Boston might go on a huge run with Kemba in charge.

  • Lefon Jang

    assist by Lin to Hawes

  • CaliUSMC

    assist to Hawes for 3

  • LinMad

Celtics look d-league and Hornets look like championships

  • blueCypher

Did I just see Lin bow ? to who ?

  • CaliUSMC

I want this 30pt game.. Can Lin do it?

  • LinMad

as long as there is no garbage time

  • zxcvb

He “can” do 40, but Kemba and Cliff won’t let him.

  • John Focker

The right question is “will he be allowed to do it?”

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    pfft, in his sleep

  • Alain Gervais

Lin twisted his ankle the same way and played through it twice. He likely will sit the last game

  • kauaiblue

    lol… big al!!

  • LinMad

    to the Asian section?

  • Joe what do you know

No doubt about his ability. It’s his opportunities that I’m questioning…

  • HVJoy

if he gets to play PG like 2Q

  • zxcvb

Every single “elite” win this season involves Lin leading with Kemba taking a back seat. Even Batum makes no difference (TOR, BOS blowout). It’s all Lin.

  • heart

Any time when Lin handles the ball, the offense seems to pick up and everyone gets touches.

  • John Focker

Exactly, because garbage time is reserved for Kemba’s stat-padding.

  • LinMad

they need to get rid of Clifford if they want to keep Lin but there is no way that is happening.

  • takeme2cruz

    Go Jazz.

  • Win

Not sure. Batum went down. Not sure if Cliff wanna risk anymore main players.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup, Lin looks to pass to teammates for easy shots
kemba looks just to dump the ball off to teammates for bailouts

  • Lefon Jang

Evan Turner is not even guarding Lin now

  • LinMad

I notice this team doesn’t like to look behind them on offense

  • Lefon Jang

    offensive foul on LIn ???

  • zxcvb

As a result, the DEFENSE is better too because everyone is engaged and happy.

  • LinMad

    what was that

  • Alain Gervais

    Lol

  • CaliUSMC

Ref was going crazy on his whistle. Can’t let Lin have 0fouls/0to’s

  • vincent

they should sit lin and start him in the 4th

  • Lefon Jang

that should’ve been a foul on Smart

  • blueCypher

lol, they decided to give him a questionable offensive foul since giving him so many FTs

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin head hit smart.

  • vincent

lol it also seems like the refs got some backlash for the no calls on lin cuz hes been to the line quite a bit tonight

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    lol refs

  • cshot

and jsut when you think the refs got the memo on calls on lin

  • Joe what do you know

There goes the refs again…. Someone play the video!!

  • zxcvb

Not a foul at all, but Lin smiled because he knew tonight’s reffing was “too good to be true.”

  • Win

Is like a makeup call for all the foul on the first half.

  • Lefon Jang

The bumped heads! Why on LIn?

  • NONONO

it is not if Lin can do it. It is if Clifford would let Lin do it.

  • Alain Gervais

    When will Lin sit

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Lin fouled the defensive player with his face! great call refs. yeah right!

  • blubell
  • Joe what do you know

It’s actually a def foul. Blocking

  • zxcvb

    First time for everything.

  • cshot

    there’s a first to everything

  • xeroid

On replay the Celtic announcers said I don’t know. ( about it being offensive foul) Lin didn’t touch anyone.

  • cshot

    holy crap man! jinx

  • Win

    Good to see that.

  • takeme2cruz

Cliff argue Lin’s foul? 81th game.

  • Lefon Jang

    Nice D on Bradley

  • LinMad

teammates starting to step up, Lin doesn’t really have to score anymore but I would like to see him reach 30

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

only Lin can foul a defensive player with his face while driving!

  • LinMad

    first in 81st game

  • Win

It is ok. If they continue to call all the legit foul on Lin. One 50/50 call is ok.

  • Lefon Jang

back in the days he would’ve poked him with his hair!

  • heart

Lin got thrown to the floor and Ready said bc they bummed head from the ref angle. What about Lin? His head got bummed and his body got thrown far away to the floor, SMH!

  • vincent

lin’s gonna get tired come on cliff take him out

  • Win

Agreed with that foul on Lin though.

  • vincent

let him start the 4th without kemba

  • LinMad

Kemba trying too hard to get his points, it’s so forced…

  • Lefon Jang

    Stupid foul by Frank!

  • CaliUSMC

He chucked like the last 4 shots.. lucky he me made the last one

  • vincent

come on Lin 5 more points

  • kauaiblue

    what a ballhog walker is!

  • Win

Kemba is trying too hard! Cliff should say something.

  • kauaiblue

    15 more!

  • LinMad

if he missed that last one, that would have been painful lol

  • vincent

lol Lin should pull a kemba and just shoot till he gets his

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

how did i know Kemba would shoot that?

  • cdblue10

Kemba will just kill his own team in the playoffs

  • cshot

lol kemba….. we see what your trying to do….

  • JJ Hui

    Thank you

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • vincent

he does he gives kemba a pat on the back lol

  • blueCypher

Just rest the main core guys

  • Alain Gervais

What will the bench have with no Lin

  • vincent

shoot guys if Batum is out for a while we are in big trouble

  • kauaiblue

too little, too late, clifford… jlin out and come back to crush you…

  • LinMad

yep we’re in trouble cause Kemba will ball hog more without Batum. But it could also mean Lin will get to start but I don’t know if that’s a good plan when Kemba is ball hogging.

  • KWC

KW needs to score 10 more before he will pass.

  • HVJoy

That’s why I listen to the Celtics feed.

  • David Ly

I feel like Lin will start the 4th. Gutierrez definitely not ready to play even with 20 point lead.

  • JJ Hui

Hahaha! I thought i was told Harvard library 24 hrs thingy?

  • Win

is there a GIF on Lin’s block shot?

  • vincent

I hope cliff realizes that if they play dual pg like in the raptors game it will be incredible

  • gandychan

why does kemba chuck so much?

  • LinMad

ya didn’t we almost lose the lead with Guiterrez our last win? We thought it was garbage time and the gap closed up pretty quickly.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

so that’s the formula.. shoot 10 times, pass 1 once. Lin should count the number of times kemba shoots and get ready for the one time he’ll pass

  • kauaiblue

    bc he is allowed to…

  • LinMad

stat pad. Not really for the team W.

  • zxcvb

Kemba still trying to sabotage Lin. I hate this team. Kemba hasn’t beaten one top team this year.

Lin is probably already thinking about Philly no matter what he says publicly.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin 3pt D too good!

  • heart

That whole sequence in the last :40secs of the 3Q, everyone (KW, Hawes, Lee, Kam) got a chance to score but missed, and didn’t even get to touch the rock.

  • zxcvb

He’s all about himself and lacks bball IQ.

  • LinMad

    First play was for Troy.

  • vincent

    Lin’s 1/4 from 3 though ;/

  • Lefon Jang

    Finally Troy Daniels

  • zxcvb

    LOL, come on.

  • Lefon Jang

Assist by Lin to Troy for the 3

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba sits. now is your chance!

  • vincent

lol I know Im tough on Lin I just want him to be 4/4 lol

  • LinMad

When Lin passes to Troy, something magical happens.

  • NONONO

    LIN is the BEST

  • Win

Lin play a lot of mins tonight.

  • vincent

come on Lin knock down those 3’s

  • LinMad

    Lin should jsut drive more

  • blubell
  • vincent

yeah his 3 pt shooting is still a little streaky

  • zxcvb

LIN BALL is so much fun to watch. Ball movement and hustle.

  • LinMad

Why isn’t any one setting up for Lin?

  • Lefon Jang

    Celtics bench making a run

  • vincent

Lin may be tired. rest him cliff we need him for the playoffs

  • Alain Gervais

Too much iso need more movement and tempo.

  • LinMad

Need to set up Lin more with screens, right now Lin is trying to create his own buckets.

  • kauaiblue

walker chucking put off the rhythym…

  • cdblue10

This is where you need Al on the court.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    NOOO!

  • Win

    Exactly!

  • LinMad

Lin was iced 3rd quarter. I blame this on Clifford/Kemba.

  • kauaiblue

coaching blunder by clifford allows celtics back into the game…

  • LinMad

    i agree

  • Alain Gervais

If this team had a Ed davis

  • cdblue10

Hawes ,Kam and Zeller is not better than Al

  • vincent

    lol come on gohan

  • sws94

    Lin needs a breather.

  • rookie75094

    Jlin need some rest

  • cshot

attack the rim lin. iced out too long

  • zxcvb

Clifford is a terrible coach. Lin could have put this game away already.

But he went with Kemba Ball to pad KW’s stats. Now you have a gassed Lin who was iced for most of the 3rd.

Oh well. 18p lead is still good. Hoops is a game of runs.

  • KWC

Should have sit Lin earlier in 3rd and then have him for the whole 4th

  • LinMad

yep bad coaching, Lin should have touched the ball more in 3rd then rest and brought back in mid 4th

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

clifford has a very small lineup on the floor right now. Lin is guarding Evan Turner who is 6’7″

  • Lefon Jang

    our bigs suck

  • cshot

lol jeremy needs a DECENT big. plz plz plz

  • vincent

come on Lin 5 more points man!

  • HVJoy

    He played 15 min non-stop.

  • cshot

    i miss lin and tyson.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Brad Stevens is probably thinking “Damn, I need this guy on my team!”

  • Lefon Jang

Evan Turner is not leaving Lin. Sticks to him like glue.

  • LinMad

    to a gassed Lin

  • LinMad

I guess Cliff wants Kemba to iso and close the game.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin needs a rest

  • LinMad

ugh others need to step up, Lin is cold right now and gassed

  • vincent

lin hasnt gotten any touches and it seems like cliff is just using him for defense

  • Lefon Jang

    Thank you Troy

  • LinMad

Like i said, something about Lin passing to Troy that makes him hit the 3 better

  • cdblue10

    Yep

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin badly need a rest!

  • vincent

lol troy got benched after that 3

  • Alain Gervais

This is a playoff type game

  • zxcvb

Lin with the buckets and dimes and strips. Amazing all-around performance.

No breathers or much help from teammates either.

  • gandychan

    not calling any fouls now.

  • vincent

all we need from lin is a 3 and a 2 lol or get to the lin 3 times

  • zxcvb

Whistles over now, I guess. Ha.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin better when the sixth man award. How much minutes has he played straight

  • cshot

    lol the refs

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Turner pushes Lin right in front of the refs and no call. smh

  • cdblue10

The pass and the rhythm to make the shot is what Lin can do for shooters like Daniel, but I still believe that he’s just a possessinal player

  • blueCypher

Jamal Crawford is the leading candidate no ?

  • Win

    Lee was clearly fouled

  • KWC

Such bad rotations. Is Lin gonna play 23 mins straight?

  • cshot

troy needs to buy lin a nice dinner

  • noob

They are trying to get the Celtics back in this

  • Alain Gervais

    I think someone else is

  • rookie75094

F!!ing refs are trolling us now…lol

  • LinMad

terrible management of Lin in the 2nd half. I just hope he gets to close the game though even though he might be super gassed.

  • cdblue10

    This is a nice game

  • zxcvb

Even when Lin is on fire, Cliff punishes him. Gotta play 35m without no rest and ice-outs for 8m at a time.

  • cshot

how many assists does jeremy have?

  • blueCypher

    who

  • David Ly

    6 assists.

  • Lefon Jang

    Alfense!

  • cshot

    thanks bruh

  • LinMad

Cliff gives Lin so many minutes, it doesn’t even look that impressing anymore with that stats cause he was iced out entire 3rd qtr.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin pocket picked Turner!

  • blubell

    Steal

  • sws94

Too many. He needs a rest.

  • cdblue10

    C”mon ref

  • LinMad

that was a foul though so that was the right call

  • FrankW

    Latest scoreboard shows 5

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

did Lin foul with his face again? what talent!

  • LinMad

    Too many Kemba bricks

  • blubell

    5-13 Kemba. ..

  • LinMad

    that was a push …

  • xeroid

It was offensive foul with Lin well outside the restricted zone.

  • Lefon Jang

he wasn’t set on that one. right call

  • LinMad

i think Lin was still moving

  • KWC

I hate those KW crossovers in place for 5 seconds and then brick.

  • LinMad

    it’s terrible stat padding strategy

  • zxcvb

Lin stuffing his all-around stats this half.

  • FrankW

LiN has as many steals as the Boston team, 5 so far.

  • vincent

lin needs to hit some 3’s come on Lin

  • LinMad

    Kemba is too selfish

  • Lefon Jang

I don’t think he has any legs right now!

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin looks so tired

  • Lefon Jang

    another rebounds by Lin

  • zxcvb

Good to see the confidence. No legs right now…gassed.

  • Lefon Jang

    Alfense…

  • Alain Gervais

    Game over

  • blueCypher

Clifford should just rest all the main guys in the final game.

  • blubell

    25pts, 7reb, 5asts, 5 stls

  • KWC

    Pad that rebound stat

  • Alain Gervais

We need that to climb to 5th

  • LinMad

but KW wants to shoot more

  • xeroid

Lin’s 3 point misses all seemed to be slightly too strong, minor adjustments should fix that.

  • Alain Gervais

How much minutes have Lin played straight

  • JoeTeam

    38+

  • KWC

Alfense now is perfect because it takes a lot of time.

  • Alain Gervais

    Just off.

  • cdblue10

Yes and he’s solid.Playoff games will slow down and you need this kind of player that can deliver.

  • Win

Al is the new closer (MLB lol) !!!

  • Lefon Jang

strong and to the right. It has been like that.

  • LinMad

Lin with 7 rebounds even though he looks gassed he still boxing/getting rebounds

  • gandychan

that would mean playing miami. is that better than playing hawks?

  • blueCypher

i still think 6th is the better spot

  • NONONO

Lin had hard time playing against Celtics. NOT today. He crashed them by scores, assists and steals

  • Alain Gervais

lol He has 38. I think he had 14 in the 1st. So thats 24 minutes straight

  • LinMad

games over, should sit Lin now unless Cliff wants to draw a few more plays for him to reach 30 but I doubt he will do that

  • zxcvb

Great to see the all-around stats! My one “complaint” about the first half was not enough rebs and assists.

  • KWC

    Almost all misses are 3pts

  • HVJoy

who played 22 min. straight already!

  • zxcvb

Legs! No rests for him tonight. Only a 20s rest at the start of the 3rd.

Love to see Lin with “no conscience” though. Even Curry will shoot cold now and then.

  • kauaiblue

clifford icing jlin after he delievers what seems like an easy win… but he may lose it after stupid move…

  • CaliUSMC

Hornets last game against magic will be on espn right?

  • blueCypher

not only that, you are in the cleveland bracket. its better 6 spot

  • Alain Gervais

    24 minutes straight

  • LinMad

i guess cliff doesn’t trust his 3rd stringers at all

  • kauaiblue

tommy heinsohn giving jlin some credit for the win…

  • blubell
  • Win

    Why still Lin???

  • sws94

Smart game by Lin. Tired, let Big Al take advantage of the mismatches. Al played a good game.

  • Lefon Jang

    garbage time

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i don’t understand how clifford can make Lin guard players 6’7″ but then
have Lee start at SG over Lin because of height difference. ridiculous

  • kauaiblue

isiah thomas, do you think jlin is not an all star now? punk

  • kauaiblue

hes a dumb coach… jlin, please go somewhere with a good coach…

  • Win

Wow. Cliff pad Lin on his back. Good to see.

  • Yascar

Might be preparing his main players to play heavy minutes come play offs. Idk. Some coaches rest them.

  • HVJoy

    Great record for Lin!

  • zxcvb

That was an EPIC game by Lin.

He singlehandedly won it in the 2nd quarter once Kemba sat his selfish butt down. 1st half: scoring and defense. 2nd half: passing, boards and defense.

  • JoeTeam

nice congratulatory highlights as Lin walks down the bench.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin can guard him. And will have to since he play SG a lot

  • kauaiblue

brad stevens always get pummeled by jlin…

  • vincent

damn wanted Lin to get 30 points lol. oh well huge game nonetheless by jlin

  • Win

Isiah Thomas is a little overrated crying jerk.

  • cshot

    this! hahahahahahaha

  • CaliUSMC

    GG

  • zxcvb

Too unselfish! He’d rather win. The best way to win is NOT to ice out teammates (even if you’re hot).

  • sws94

I just think he likes Lin’s fire off the bench knowing the starters often play flat and Lin rights the ship.

  • Lefon Jang

Evan Turner is the reason why Lin always play well against Celtics. He’s slow.

  • Alain Gervais

I cant wait for the playoffs.

  • kauaiblue

    I missed the first half!

  • LinMad

First time Lin got more minutes than Kemba?

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin cant wait either.

  • vincent

    tell that to Kemba lol

  • zxcvb

Not me. Kemba Ball will rule the day. Even tonight, Kemba was selfish as h***.

Luckily, Lin won the game for him in the 2Q!

  • cdblue10

    I’m excited

  • KWC

The minute management is just terrible.

  • CaliUSMC

    u snooze u looze

  • sws94

Totally day this game from yesterday’s night. Lin was spectacular.

  • LinMad

When bench player outplays starters, it means that bench player is a starter

  • kauaiblue

jeremy lin is the leader… you follow him, and you WIN!

  • zxcvb

    brb, will text him

  • LinMad

agreed and even so, Lin was still fighting on the defensive end even to the last minutes

  • heart

How many important wins have Lin led now? It usually happens when one of the starters (at least half way) are down too.

  • vincent

so does this win put charlotte above boston even though they have samerecord?

  • blubell
  • zxcvb

Cliff spent all his pregame praising IT. Then Lin made IT and Kemba both look like scrubs.

  • Alain Gervais

No they win the season series 2-1

while Lin was walking to lockerroom there were a ton of asians clapping hands with him

  • Win

    WOw. Lamb DNP.

  • CaliUSMC

Kemba didn’t look too happy at end of the game. Probably b/c he couldn’t stat pad to beat Lin

  • KWC

I am disappointed that Lin did not get a quad dub.

  • zxcvb

Lin either gets insta-benched for a slow start or plays 20+m in a row with no breather.

  • Alain Gervais

    I think he is injured?

  • vincent

I really hope Coleangelo brett brown and MDA watched this game

  • Win

    Box score said DNP

  • Alain Gervais
  • cshot

    good question….

  • blubell
  • I am The Jason

Nope. ESPN replace that game with the Heat/Celtics game

  • LinMad

today was a little different cause he made most of his impact in the first half. That cushion allowed Kemba to iso more.

  • CaliUSMC

Looks like Houston won.. Jazz has to win.. they gotta

  • CJSHYY

So glad Lin beat IT today. Haha!

  • zxcvb

CHA has no tiebreakers because they can’t beat good team w/o Lin leading (thanks Cliff and Kemba).

I think the only way for CHA to get homecourt is for MIA to lose both their remaining games.

  • Alain Gervais

So basically every top teams hornets win is because of Lin

  • CJSHYY

I know so mad. What’s wrong w Min? smh!

  • sws94

    Because he suited up.

  • Alain Gervais

Brad stevens is a great coach. Bench IT for Getting a tech

    Ya! That’s the fact.

    A Lee to a Lin

  • dave lam

Just check in and seen the boxscore. Great stats for Jeremy!
Is this game meaningful for the seedlings ?

  • LinMad

Charlotte Hornets need to promote Lin as 6th man of the year (a real title) instead of Walker being most improved player on the team.

  • zxcvb

Probably not. CHA has no tiebreakers so I think MIA has to lose both its games.

The only seeding you want is to get the home court advantage, but at this time seeding is irrelevant

  • zxcvb

Based on his history, Stevens would much rather have a guy like Lin. Humble, team player.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • NONONO

Lin 5 steals. IT 6 TOs and complained missing All star?

  • David Ly

Yeah, IT got a chance to lead a team being deemed a reserve in many of his teams. He is not even a complete player in terms of defensive capability compared to Jeremy. So I’m glad also that he did against someone who can be comparable in terms of getting a chance to start whereas Jeremy hasn’t.

  • heart

Guys/gals, remember, Celtics just recently defeated the #1 seed WC GSW and ended their streak on home court wins. Celtics have since been elevated, yet our guy, Lin alone sparked the win against Celtics after Hornets’ 4th meeting this season for an important road win! I don’t who else coming off the bench could do this in this season?

  • Win

Should do it both in order to keep them both happy. Only a business pov.

  • blueCypher

    IT missed all star ?

  • takeme2cruz

Lin played 17 min straight first half and 22 min straight second half on back to back night. Superman!

  • CJSHYY
  • cshot

correction* complained how lin was getting votes in the all star voting

  • JLin Fan from Australia

he was two spots behind Lin and keep complaining

  • David Ly

This game and San Antonio may make his case for 6th Man of the Year.

  • Win

Same here. I hate IT so damn much! And he dissed Lin during the all star vote.

  • blueCypher

Jlin is being interview on nbatv

  • grover chang

Scal is a good analyst. One of the few I hear who breakdown why modern teams play like GSW/Spurs, why certain players are succeeding and others failing, based on the removal of the illegal defensive rules.

  • Win

    Again. 🙂

  • vincent

Jeremy Lin just defeated the team that last beat the Warriors. This was the case when he beat the Spurs as well.. Seems to be a trend, maybe some luck or perhaps Jeremy Lin is just a really good basketball player

  • takeme2cruz

    Max contract anyone?

  • grover chang

Maybe Lin is still a big GSW fan. Seems to target teams that beat his beloved Warriors. LOL.

  • LinMad

I think the NBA was hoping for a breakthrough game like this for Jeremy Lin. I mean after that whole viral video, they really tried to make an attempt that Lin is accepted by the NBA. I just wish the refs were more fair like today cause those calls were legit. Usually he doesn’t get those calls even when you hear his wrist slapped from a mile away or if he gets fouled hard it ends up being a turnover instead of a foul.

  • CJSHYY

Is Hornets the same record like Celtics now?

  • Alain Gervais

Yes but the won the season series 2-1

  • HVJoy

    That’s a stretch. lol.

  • LinMad

he’s really good when he’s allowed to go all out. It was like night and day when you compare first half and second half and it had a lot to do with Kemba ball hogging.

  • CaliUSMC

Lol I just noticed ESPN took away hornets/magic national televised game away to give it to kobe’s last game. Ugh whatever

  • takeme2cruz

Cliff couldn’t afford to pull Jeremy despite leading 20+ tells you everything. He rode the Secretariat tonight.

  • NONONO

If Clifford gave Lin more chances this season, Hornets might be close or better than Raptors by now.

  • cshot

kemba was super frustrating today tho. he kills the lead and rhythm. if his shot is broke like it was today, pass the effing rock. don’t iso and take contested jumpers constantly

  • vincent

so maybe Lin should be one of the favorites to win 6MOY?

  • blueCypher

6th spot better, not in the cleveland bracket

  • HVJoy

    He deserves it!

  • grover chang

Could you really blame them. Then they moved Kobe’s game to ESPN2 to give GSW 73 win game to ESPN. More people have ESPN and not ESPN2.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

good call! JLIN is a complete player

  • takeme2cruz

They want the world to witness humiliation.

  • heart

Give credit to Brad Stevens for pulling IT and his starters off the floor when they couldn’t get it done.

  • NONONO

yes. i like #6 vs ATL than #4, # 5 to compete with Heat or Celtics

  • HVJoy

Lin’s got that Boston connection being a Harvard man!

  • cdblue10

This is Cliff rotation in the playoff…Al,Kemba,Batum,Lee,Zeller,Lin,Kaminsky,Hawse and Daniel.

  • sws94

So what kind of shape is Lin in? Tonight he looked strong, fast, had good lift. Maybe Lin just has days where he’s physically not right and other days where he is? Because he definitely looked way better physically tonight than last night but this is the 2nd night of a back to back.

  • blueCypher

I just think , more or less, hawks hornets heat and celtics are basically on the same level . might as well stay out of the cavs way until ECF

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • sws94

You may be right. Lamb may be out of the rotation. Poor Lamb.

  • cdblue10

Lin plays when game is at higher stake

  • sws94

    I guess I understand that.

  • grover chang

IIRC, he is less energetic in afternoon games.

  • Jang

I live 25 minutes away from TD garden, regretting that I didn’t go to the game now TT.TT gahhh.

  • LinMad

why is it that the opponent’s always praise Lin but his own coach doesn’t really praise him enough? Not that he needs it from Clifford but you need to support Lin when he is having a game just like you do when your starters go off.

  • sws94

But he physically looked much better. Yesterday he seemed injured, nowhere near as quick.

  • I am The Jason

Kobe’s last game was already schedule on ESPN. The heat/Celtics game bumped the hornets game. Actually GS/Memphis bump the Lakers game to ESPN2

  • LinMad

last game was a morning game so he might of been sleepy.

  • HVJoy

Thank you for the background info.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

  • vincent

Lin has really had a lot of Linsanity level games this season. SO happy for him

  • David Ly

    NBA TV screenshot.

  • LinMad

I wonder why they signed him so early and for $21 mln? that’s a little too much imo.

  • FrankW

Hot rod flaming orange and red.

  • Promo Sports World

Jeremy should never play at 12pm again…lol

Great fantastic superb game……..playoffs on and poppin

  • LinMad

wow, but they don’t really review missed calls cause they can’t review it if it’s missed. So only if the refs give Lin a flagrant, they can review it? So if the refs themselves are biased, it really is unfair to Lin.

Maybe the NBA needs to investigate their refs too instead of watching replays of calls already made on the floor.

  • sws94

    Mistake.

  • sws94

Never seen a player get hit in the head so much and flagrants not called. Hard fouls, yes. But hit in the head and not close to playing the ball, no.

  • blueCypher

haha, that is next level. it makes sense

  • vincent

Im also happy iwth the way Charlotte has treated Lin (Media Wise). It seems like hornets fans have nothing but good things to say about Lin, which is drastically different than in LA or HOU

the reply was probably from some intern and not even read by Adam Silver. But I think they might be doing something behind closed doors about it. They probably won’t publicly announce it cause of embarrassment.

First thing I want to see is Adam Silver bringing all the refs together to discuss why fans are mad about their officiating. I would like him to handpick the refs that did miss the calls on Lin and give them a lecture.

  • Epie

People @ATH have no idea why it’s ghost town there, still saying things like “averaging 11 ppg by scoring 22 points and 0 points every other game lol”

  • LinMad

the ones who still stay are either very pro Lin or an obvious Lin hater. Lin never had a 0 pt game this season did he? Maybe 3-4 games that were 3 pts or less. And the audacity of some of them bringing up Lin’s inconsistency when you know he doesn’t get the same minutes or touches every game. This game is an example of what could happen when he’s given minutes/touches.

  • cshot

ignore ATH. they know how to piss lin fans off. bunch of uneducated fools

  • JoeTeam

    Go Jazz!

  • CJSHYY

Never mind about them bc they had problem w Lin’s fans…. just forget about them. No one care about them at all.

  • LinMad

sometimes I feel they do it to draw us in and keep their fan base alive.

  • Alain Gervais

I doubt most are saying that but that line is kinda funny lol

  • CJSHYY

Well said. I think they did it on purpose. smh!

  • takeme2cruz

Next season we wouldn’t know who they are.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t know about who they are now…. LOL!

  • Alain Gervais

Do we want to face Heat or Hawks. Heat always give Lin a problem.

  • CJSHYY

Me too. So mad. Rox beat Min…smh!

  • LINSANITY

Honestly, heat would be the best matchup for the Hornets because they could play their fast paced basketball against them.. Hawks would be the worst matchup of the 3 because of their skillled bigs

  • Alain Gervais

I know but which would be worst for Lin lol

  • LinMad

Hawks would drive through our bigs like nothing. Plus I want to see what happens in difficult situations for Lin. He needs to learn how to beat the Heat.

  • – JLin chose Clifford’s work-ethic as coach’s best strength
    – Lin also praised Kemba being genuine in rooting for each other, being humble.
-Taking suggestions for hairstyle except for the 3D bald style LOL

    Classy and diplomatic.
    Classic JLin!

  • CJSHYY

What if Jazz loss today then Rox will be in playoff?

  • Win

Yup. I knew that a long time ago. Just forget them!

  • guest

If Clifford lets Lin play free and run plays through him, he will not have problems against the Heat.

  • blueCypher
  • CJSHYY

    I think so…

  • Joe what do you know

Have to count on Kings to defeat Rockets and both Utah and Dallas to win their last game. If Dallas lose today, they’ll most likely to be eliminated since they’ll be playing Spurs next.

  • LINSANITY

That Holly Girl really likes Lin.. where did this come from. its like Divine Intervention

  • zxcvb

They’re p*ssed Kemba is such a scrub every big game. Lin is responsible for every single elite win.

  • Briiick

Dallas will likely win tonight, and Jazz will beat Lakers in the last game but Rox may not win against kings.

  • Rick Johnson
  • aras

Thats it! this is the Lin we want to see! im telling you the guy loves big games and gets bored against the small teams…

  • LinMad

lol she probably asked a Lin fan

  • blueCypher

  • Alain Gervais

    Not an official site

  • zxcvb

I think it’s more that Kemba and Batum can’t beat the top teams, so Lin actually gets a chance to play his game instead of standing in the corner all night.

    vs ATL Hawks: 13.3p/2.8a/3r +3.2

    vs MIA Heat: 8.5p/2a/1.5r -1.3

    Damn shes fine tho

  • Alain Gervais

I think the highest we will get is 5th. Boston will either be 5th or 6th. we won’t face them

  • takeme2cruz

They can beat any of them depending on how Clifford uses lin.

  • blueCypher

    that accent, kinda sexy

  • LinMad

i want to kiss her, on the lips

  • blueCypher
  • Win

Boston. Hassan Whiteside is a problem for the entire team so no Heats. So either Boston or Hawks.

  • InfiniteWisdom

Straight up linsanity tonight! or at least the 1st half. batum got hurt and he had to come in early with little rest. once the playoffs start i think we will see more of this lin. when the other team game plans to stop kemba and batum, who is going to pick up the lemons and make damn good lemonade? lin…. he did it with houston and will do it again, just you watch. when his number is called to lead, he does not falter. how many big games has he played well in? he steps up time and time again.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

lol. after watching this video, i’m 100% sure she’s making the whole thing up trying to get her 15 minutes of fame. nice try though!

  • LINSANITY

but why Lin though of all people?

  • sport

Whenever his teammates pad stats and hogs ball against lesser teams, JLin’s minutes and offense suffer. Which is why he can play great 1 game and then benched the next. For sure JLin takes it up a notch against big teams, he will do fine in playoffs when the challenge is on, while Kemba will disappear. Just hope he will finally have consistent starting role and touche after reuniting with MDA.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

pfft, why not Lin of all people? instant fame if the media picks it up

  • LINSANITY

I think its real.. she seems genuine, but yet ditzy at the same time.. she has her blonde moments

  • LinMad

i think her tattoo helped Lin today

  • CaliUSMC

  • Alain Gervais

http://www.nba.com/hornets/video Cliff interview. Talk Lins great games with Cle, san, toronto, and this game.

  • blueCypher

it’s all good bro… all in good fun .

  • Warren
  • your son’s legendary voltaire

hey, i’m not against it. it’s just seem made up to me. but i hope she does get her 15 minutes of fame. would be a nice story for Linsanity!

  • LinMad

    finally! some worthy praise

  • InfiniteWisdom

basically… how he can play as sg and literally not touch the ball for minutes… it’s unbelievable… but doesnt matter. once payoffs come, they will force the ball out of kemba and batum’s hands. then we’ll see some linsanity like tonight.

  • LinMad

can someone make a video on why Lin should be 6MOY and post it on reddit? The Spurs, Toronto, Cavs, Atlanta, (this one) and more. Then send letters to NBA.

  • CJSHYY

Wow! Can’t believe this… hope he can let Lin plays the same in playoff.

  • zxcvb

Too little, too late. Lin is gone, Cliffraud. Enjoy Kemba Ball next year!

Revert to the mean, get fired by MJ. Kinda like McHale and the Rox this year.

  • CaliUSMC

  • blueCypher

    ya, fun and light-hearted

  • zxcvb

Utah’s refusal to sign a real PG is insane. They could have been so good this year. Elite defense, lots of quality role players, but they just can’t score points unless they’re hitting ISO jumpers.

They have zero capable PGs on the entire roster. Same as Philly!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yeah, i think she’ll get her chance to meet Lin. good luck to her!

  • LinMad

what if Lin paid her $50

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

he’s too frugal. better make it $25

  • zxcvb

    – Heat will be extra tough in the playoffs — too much experience and ref cheating for Wade.
    – Boston/Stevens can’t be beat unless Lin is unleashed. Kemba won’t let that happen more than once.
    – Atlanta is probably the best bet. They play teamball, but they don’t overwhelm in any one area.

  • heart
  • sws94

Add the big shots at the end of the Wizards game, some games against the Knicks, the OT against the Kings, but don’t forget the defensive highlights. Tonight’s game had plenty of them.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i’d laugh so hard if Lin wins the MIP instead of 6MOY after all the push Charlotte has done for Kemba

  • LinMad

and the preseason games and his $2M paycheck at the end with the question “How many $2M bench players do you know can do this?”

  • LINSANITY

Lin should get 6MOY, but well know the NBA is biased and they will give it to Jamal Crawford

  • LinMad

    can he get both?

  • CJSHYY

But saw NBA promoted Lin a lot this year so my guess Lin has big chance will get it.

  • LinMad

    who votes for 6MOY?

  • LINSANITY

Lets hope so, but the from a lot of the articles and blogs I’ve read they say Jamal Crawford is the favorite

I meant your desired tattoo on the posterior end below 🙂

  • Alain Gervais

He won’t get most improve even though he has a ton especially defensively. 6th man is expected now. Will be disappointed if he isn’t

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    ah, i’ll edit it

  • sport

Doesn’t matter JLin and fans are eyeing allstar not some lame 6MOY award.

  • LINSANITY

its not a lame award.. it will help his chances of getting a big contract in FA

  • LINSANITY

Doubt Lin will win MIP.. its most likely going to CJ Mccollum

  • kauaiblue

    Lol… that thing called work…

  • blueCypher

    not lame at all

  • blueCypher

no end of season award is lame

  • sws94

A lot of that is based a lot on stats, and some of his stats are down this season. The 6MOY is more based on how important and productive a player off of the bench is to a team. So, Lin has a better chance to win that one. Lin’s essential to the Hornet’s success and getting to the playoffs.

  • MorlockO

Just my theory, She has been a closet lin fan for quite some time, and wanted to tatoo Lin’s name but doesnt want to make it appear that she is an LOF for a long time… so she made this story up….

    thats just me though…

  • sws94

Iggy, Kanter? I don’t know. Hope it’s Lin. But if not, not Crawford. Rather Iggy or Kanter.

  • JJ Hui

Her goal is probably want to get famous? Who will seriously simply put a tatto on the body without knowing what it was? I am sure the tattoo parlor wont simply put a tatto on someone’s body. The beginning of the story didnt add up though.

  • CJSHYY

I think Lin has good chance bc Hornets improved a lot due to their bench. But Clippers & OKC were already good.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i know. just saying it would be funny if he gets it cus how kemba is being so heavily promoted for it..

  • MorlockO

I agree… I think she has been a lin fan for quite some time now…

  • JJ Hui

The story is not convincing, she probably want to ride Lin’s fame to get famous!

  • LinMad
  • grover chang

I’ve seen white people with chinese character tattoos that did not mean what they thought it meant.

  • KHuang

Usually the 6th man award goes to bench players who are actually playing starter minutes, not little used guys like Lin.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

agreed. but anyone who got JLIN’s name tattooed on her body is 100% OK with me

  • JJ Hui

We are all Lin’s fan but she has a way to make herself famous, by riding Lin’s fame!

  • Win

    6th Man it is! 🙂

  • KHuang

That’s a lot of teams, including the Charlotte Hornets.

  • JJ Hui

Yeah, but when you know a basketball player’s name that you dont know who he was, will you just tatto that on your body? Tatto is probably not 2 minutes thing, will you just let it done in thise hours long project?
A lot of guys tatto those Chinese character but not someone’s name.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yeah. definitely doesn’t add up. i mean, let’s just say that even if she did actually pick out some Chinese characters to be tattooed.. what are the chances that it ends up being Lin’s name? not very good, i’d suppose. and what tattoo shop would even have Lin’s name for a person to select as their tattoo? and wouldn’t the artist let her know what it was beforehand? what about asking about it’s meaning? lots of holes

  • LinMad

But Lin does get a lot of minutes for a bench player. Just not a lot of touches.

  • sws94

Most of the candidates are playing less, not more, minutes than Lin.

  • Win

I think clifford has been changing his tone on Lin after the “That is role” Interview.

  • Win

    I meant his

  • MorlockO

most of them don’t know because they went into a tatoo parlor and picked the coolest looking chinese character…

but if you already have the chinese characters at hand, wont you at least use your smartphone to look up what the chinese characters mean while waiting for the tatoo artist to prepare?

you dont go into a tatoo parlor and sit on the chair they they will just start drawing stuff on your body lol unless she did it in thailand or something lol … they will usually give you an interview first, then let you sit and wait while they prepare the needles and stuff… that will be a good 20-30 mins… plenty of time to check your phone 🙂

and if she is the type that can’t go into a basketball game by herself, she is most definitely NOT the type that will go into a tatoo parlor by herself lol…
    just saying…

  • MorlockO

    same hahaha

  • CaliUSMC

Ok. So if Houston/Utah tie for 8th place. Who will go to playoffs? They are tied 2-2 for the regular season.

  • takeme2cruz

You can click on edit to correct it, just fyi.

  • MorlockO

    higher +/- I believe… I may be wrong…

  • sws94

I think he may be posting as Guest. That’s not an option if not logged into Disqus.

  • takeme2cruz

    I see.

  • takeme2cruz

Houston will. They own the division standing.

  • CaliUSMC

what do you mean utah is 3rd in their division.

  • takeme2cruz

They are both 8-8 in their own division (tie) so they go the conference which Houston has better record.

  • MorlockO

dude…. you are entering the creepy stage…

  • CaliUSMC

ok lets take this further. what if they are tied in conference?

  • takeme2cruz

Head to head and if they are tie head to head (2-2) which I don’t know but in baseball they will play 1 game for due or die.

  • CaliUSMC

That’s the answer I want. That’ll be so cool- if the NBA had like a sudden death BO1 type of thing.

  • takeme2cruz

Yeah, I’ve never seen that in NBA but it would be fun.

  • KHuang

But the actual WINNERS are usually high minute high usage guys playing around 30 minutes essentially as starters.

  • takeme2cruz

Batum is not healthy and he’s seen KW in playoff. If he wants to win, Lin is his only option.

  • sws94

In the past, I’m not so sure about this season. Most of the guys are playing only around 20-21 minutes. Now, pretty much all of them have higher usage.

  • KHuang

I personally am unconcerned who Lin faces in the playoffs.

I expect him to play well and do good teamball regardless of whether he scores big. Personally, I’m not really wrapped up in Lin’s stats. But I do care very much whether the Hornets are executing well when Lin’s out on the court.

I don’t expect the Hornets to get out of the 1st round, no matter how well plays.

  • Win

I think it was because he took A LOT OF HEAT from NBA, Hornets Marketing Dept right after that interview. LOL

  • LINSANITY

If it’s a tie after the 82nd game.. Houston gets the Nod.. plain and simple

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

what if Batum remains injured during playoffs and Lin ends up playing 35-40 minutes per game?

  • JJ Hui

That’s what i mean, all i can think of her is want to get famous and ride on Lin’s fame. Look at her body language and touching her hair and finally removed her winter hat, does that need to be included in this story too?

  • LinMad

its not about the minutes anymore. it’s about the touches.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yeah but as we’ve seen a lot of times when one of either Batum or Kemba is out, Lin gets a lot of touches. i think Lin would put up big numbers if Batum’s remains injured

    By Marc D’Amico | @Marc_DAmico, Celtics.com
    April 11, 2016, Key Moment

Not many NBA games are decided during the first half. Monday night’s matchup between the Celtics and the Hornets was an exception. And it wasn’t in Boston’s favor.

Charlotte closed the first half on a ridiculous 31-3 run that pushed it to a 63-41 lead at the break. Boston was never able to recover from that spree, as the Hornets lead never dropped below 14 points over the remainder of the night.

Jeremy Lin, playing on Asian American Night at the Garden, channeled his inner Linsanity during the run. He outscored the Celtics all by himself, and in emphatic fashion.

Lin dropped in 17 points over the final 7:49 of the second quarter, and he did so in a myriad of ways. Ten of those points were scored from the free-throw line, three were scored from long range, and four more were scored off of a turnaround jumper and a step-back jumper.

As Lin and his Hornets caught fire, Boston’s offense fell apart. It managed to score only three points over the final 8:08 of the quarter while committing seven fouls and five turnovers.

Boston surely played better during the second half, pulling to within 15 midway through the fourth quarter, but it was never able to make a run at a comeback.

  • CJSHYY
  • Whitman Lam

Charlotte doesn’t have the pieces to make a deep playoff run. They don’t have a dominant, rim protecting big man and their defensive “Lebron-stopper” is out for the season due to injury. Best they can do is win a 1 or 2 games in the 1st round.

  • vincent

Lol the article is written by MDA

  • vincent

Isn’t it weird that when Batum and Kemba are healthy lin is like the 6th option, but when Kemba or Batum is injured, he becomes the 2nd option

  • bolero

her tone of voice is not convincing..

  • zxcvb

If Kemba sits, then Charlotte can go all the way to the ECF, easy. Batum out just means more Kemba Ball.

  • zxcvb

I’m hoping Philly makes their coaching switch ASAP. Clean house, start fresh.

    – Hire/promote MDA.
    – Sign Lin.
    – Don’t trade Okafor/Noel until Embiid proves he’s not the next Oden.
    – Draft Ingram (aka “poor man’s Durant”).

  • JoeTeam

she didn’t show the tattoo. yup you got me, I watched it.

  • sws94

I don’t know if that’s the best, but it is what I’m expecting. If they play their best ball, they can go 7 games or even win a round. But that’s doubtful they will.

  • sws94
  • sport

Same expect 1st round exit, anything more would need Lin playing as real PG with many touches every game.

  • ManuGinobilin

These are the tie-break rules per NBA.com:

    (3) Division won-lost percentage [HOU & UTA both 8-8]
    (4) Conference won-lost percentage [HOU wins tiebreaker at 27-24 vs UTA’s 24-27]
    (5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference

  • Arsenium12 .

I noticed today that in an article from April 7, Adrian Wojanarowski said that Washington Wizards executive Marc Eversley is expected to eventually join Bryan Colangelo in Philadelphia, according to sources. Eversley is the Vice President of Player Personnel with the Wizards.

Prior to working for the Wizards he was with the Raptors and, before that with Nike. Part of his time at Nike was spent as “Player Relationship Manager.” He dealt with players like Steve Nash, Elton Brand, Vince Carter and Gary Payton.

  • james brown

“he felt it was a home game for him!”….

  • donsmacau

Batum out obviously is not as conducive to JLIN potential as Kemba out would be but remember that Kemba does need rest and when Kemba rests (assuming Clifford doesn’t play him more minutes which could always be a possiblity) then there is no longer any Point Forward taking up a good chunk of JLIN’s playmaking time when Kemba is off the floor because I just don’t believe in the Playoffs that it is wise to not have a proven point guard on the floor at all times.

So Batum out should allow more minutes of JLIN dominating the point.

  • donsmacau

Completely agree though I’m finding difficulty in believing a low post guy like Okafor really fits with MDA’s seven second P&R movement offense.

Though I could be wrong since Okafor is just a kid and might be able to adapt to the D’Antoni system

  • sws94

They’ve won 10 games. If they improve 3 fold they win 30. That doesn’t get them into the playoffs where 40 was the minimum number to get in.

No excitement about this team until they show what the regime can do and that will be at season’s end of next season. Lin with Noel would be fun. But besides that, Philly isn’t that appealing and not on a winner. Lin is playing playoff basketball after Wednesday, that’s where he belongs. And nobody cares here one bit about Philly if MDA wasn’t in the organization.

  • sws94

For me, touches. That’s it. That’s all he needs. He created a lot of his own tonight off of steals.

But not just Lin. The team has to be on the same page on both ends. Lin’s play supports a full-team buy-in. And that’s often when Kemba is off of the floor.

  • sws94

He’d get mugged and malled. And play well.

  • donsmacau

    Oh ye of little faith…
If Ishmael Smith can win 10 games then JLIN can win 40 games.

Will be a hard pill to swallow seeing the Hornets not make the playoffs and hearing constantly how JLIN is running the P&R to perfection under Mike D’Antoni’s system on a weekly basis and racking up the wins.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a player seeking to align with a trusted mentor, JLIN fans do not get taken in by the comments meant to distract saying MDA is a crutch, could NOT be farther from the truth. MDA will allow JLIN to do what he’s always wanted – “to have the trust and freedom to flourish”

  • Alain Gervais

I agree last year Lin said He doesn’t know if sixes are still rebuilding didn’t want to play with them. What changes this year. Dantoni as an assistant. Thats a big sale dantoni has. He will likely leave at the first stab at being a starting head coach. I doubt he will stay there long. IDC if dantoni is an assistant coach there. I only care about there coach and front office moves. We will see. They may draft a PG. So enjoy the playoffs and wait for what Lin does

  • Joe what do you know

That’s what I’m counting on… And that’ll be the only way Rox would get eliminated…

  • Brewkowski

yep, clifford’s stupid but not stoopid.

  • donsmacau

Prove that JLIN said that he did not want to play with Sixers – that is completely false.

I feel bad for those who have wedded themselves to the Hornets – it will come as a shock that all of your assumptions have been and will continue to be misplaced.

Jerry Colangelo signaled with the hiring of his son as GM, knowing full well that he would be accused of NEPOTISM, that he will have the courage to not be beholden to politically correct decisions.
Colangelos now have the opportunity to attract a quality free agent point guard with Coach Mike D’Antoni – some might not like JLIN but Colangelos don’t care about political backlash – perfect.

Colangelos and MDA will never allow a rookie or even a young PG to lead any team they control.

  • FrankW

Nice, I really missed all the post game interviews/analysis Lin used to have.

  • takeme2cruz

Different GM, possible different coach. Apples and oranges to compare last year and this year.

  • Brewkowski

any award for Lin is nice recognition of his abilities. then next year, as starting PG, he will get Most Improved Player!

  • Brewkowski

    cj should win it.

  • sws94

A 10 win team doesn’t usually turn around in 1 season. I can’t get enthusiastic at all about that team. I like Noel. I’m not crazy about Okafor/Lin and there’s nobody else on the team that is developed yet that does anything for me. I can’t just look at a coach and the Colangelos and say give me any team and think of Lin going from a playoff team to one that may be a playoff team the 2nd season after big changes. Doesn’t work for me. Doesn’t seem practical. Seems more like Lin and MDA and everything can be great hopes, but that’s all.

I don’t really follow them to care what they do with the team. Is there a chance Lin will pick them? Sure. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities. But is it really Lin’s first choice? We won’t find out what his priorities are until after the playoffs and whenever he decides to choose a team and why he chose them. Lin picking the Hornets is a lesson that we can’t predict what he will do. Can’t get rapped up in the team with the worst record in the league, even with the changes they’ve made. Good luck to them, but I’d like to see Lin with great players on a playoff contender next season or if he signs a 2-3 year or longer contract.

  • Alain Gervais

Im not going through 1 year ago of post to prove to you something. I was here all free agency remember the whole wait,. Then the mavs failer. Then it was posted Lin didn’t want to go to the sixers. Anyways Lin will do what he will.

  • sws94

Lin will do what HE wants. And we have no idea what he wants.

  • donsmacau

Nobody cares whether anyone else is “enthusiastic” or “rapped up” about a team with more raw talent and institutional potential than the majority of teams in the NBA.

MDA has a wealth of comments attributed to him including this year from Clifford that he seeks to have JLIN play for him again.

In turn, JLIN is known to not only make time to have lunch with but also text MDA a coach 5 years removed now.

You bet your bottom dollar that they both seek to get together to prove their time with Knicks was not a fluke and they will devote every waking minute preparing and practicing to make it so.

  • Brewkowski

you need to get rid of your icon. it’s revolting.

  • Alain Gervais

The last time sixers had more wins then loses was the 2004-2005 season

  • donsmacau

YOU have NO IDEA what he WANTS.

We do, get your grieving over with – it;ll help your psyche

  • donsmacau

Thanks for confirming you have no evidence

  • Alain Gervais

Lol you do? really. Where was you during the free agency. Should of told us where he was going

  • sws94

Phil Jackson was with the Knicks for years. What happened? Did he turn them into winners? He had more talent on that team than Philly has on their team. And he has 6 rings. It takes time to turn a franchise around, trial and error often, and to think Lin will just have blind faith that because his favorite coach is an associate coach on the team this will happen is a lot to ask of him. He may not. Lin is going to be 28, why should he be on a losing team when the guy hates losing so much. That they win enough to get to the playoffs is less likely than they don’t.

  • donsmacau

You have Hornets 33-49 record to fall back on next year as JLIN and Marv leave your team high and dry.

  • Alain Gervais

Lol You do get your arguing opinion.

  • Alain Gervais

That may happen. I don’t get what you are arguing

  • donsmacau

Phil Jackson played for the Knicks 40 years ago.

Point guards peak at 30 years old, JLIN is perfect for a rebuilding franchise

  • sws94

At least I say I didn’t. And I also said he could choose them. I didn’t say he was going to like some are saying. That’s talking for him and pretending you know something you can’t know. That’s not practical.

  • sws94

    Yes.

  • donsmacau

I’m arguing that you have many stagnant to middling years to look forward to in Charlotte.

  • sws94

That’s another argument. 33 to 45 wins is a lot different than 10 to 40.

  • donsmacau

I do hope some of you Hornets First Fans will remain JLIN fans once he leaves Charlotte. At least there will be nostalgia when he leads his own Sixers team to wins every year over Hornets.

  • Alain Gervais

Yea I’m tired and happy lol. Its amazing Lin has a good game then we go straight to the future. Be happy for what just happen. Enjoy the play offs. We will deal with free agency when it come. We don’t even know if Lin opts out. Its more likely then not but we just had an amazing game enjoy it.

  • sws94

I don’t bet anything. JLin’s decisions are not something I’m privy too. And believe or not, neither are you.

  • donsmacau

He’s already opted out – go read the comments Rich Cho gave already called JLIN a “free agent”

  • Alain Gervais

We literally never said he should stay in the hornets. All we did was say Sixers is the last option out there.

  • donsmacau

Uhh you mean Sixers is first option.

  • Alain Gervais

Lol no he didn’t he cant yet. season is still on. Cho is expecting him to

  • donsmacau

    Five stages of grief.

denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance

  • sws94

He had a really GREAT game. If he does this in the playoffs? Wow. I sure hope he does. He can. Will he? Hope so.

Maybe a thread on Philly as a possibility is a good idea. Maybe psalm can do that. It’s a big thing here.

  • donsmacau

    What’s the difference?
End result is he seeks a new Hornets contract on Clifford bench ROTFLMAO!!!!
or Signs with Sixers as new starting point guard leading his own team

  • sws94

No grief. Just practical points being made. Anyway, I’m high off of Lin tonight and I don’t really think I have anymore to add. Thanks.

  • donsmacau

Great games by JLIN — this shall be your year to get mileage from JLIN cuz he becomes just another thorn in Hornets side next year.

  • sws94

He looked content, free, happy. Like seeing him like that. Hornets are stingy with their Lin interviews.

  • Alain Gervais

Given the way Lin thinks Sixers probably ids not an option. Could be an unknown team we don’t see. Given the was Lin thinks. Knick and utah are more to his liking then Sixers. teams thats close to the playoffs. Just need a little Insanity lol. Like Charlotte last year. If he goes to the Sixer. Dantoni will be a big influence

  • Alain Gervais

How quickly would you turn on sixers?

  • Spot

    Okafor must go. Selfish diva.

  • donsmacau

You couldn’t be further off base and you have no idea why you are off base, that’s whats so sad.

Yes, D’Antoni will be a big influence in a purely positive sense in many many different and forward looking ways.

  • DaBoss

Good points. And if there’s one player who has the ability to turn a team around in quick order, we have faith that Jeremy can do it.

  • donsmacau

I believe that JLIN and MDA are true friends and will deal straight with JLIN; Colangelos have been trusted confidantes with MDA for 30 years so I trust they will deal fairly with JLIN as well. But as always I remain every a JLIN fan first.

This is a far cry from Clifford telling JLIN he would be Kemba’s backup then playing JLIN as SG 85% of his minutes. Hornets should have played JLIN 12 min per game as true PG without other PGs or Point Forwards and that would have suited me, probably JLIN as well.

  • Alain Gervais

The post wasn’t to you. I could show you are hand written letter from Lin saying he won’t go to the Sixer you will denied it. Thats what you want. Me idc ill follow him where ever really. I don’t think its the Sixer but it doesn’t matter to me.

  • Alain Gervais

True friend in a business like the nba. Really?

  • donsmacau

As much as there can be in the NBA.
Who still has lunch with his old coach from 5 yrs back?
Since when does a coach still tell his old ex-assistant that he wants to get Jeremy back on his team?

  • CJSHYY
  • Brewkowski

big game jeremy… doesnt flow as nice as big game james.

  • Brewkowski

    agree

  • Brewkowski

    lol, that’s funny.

  • Alain Gervais

If he was the coach i would understand you more.

  • donsmacau

He will be the head coach in short order.

And you thought all the talk about Sam Hinkie safely keeping his job was gospel as well I suppose.

  • Alain Gervais

    If you say so

  • donsmacau

    I do.

  • CJSHYY
  • Alain Gervais
  • blueCypher

Seth Curry (Steph Curry’s brother) had a great game tonight. Could the Kings give him a chance at PG next season?

  • Lam

    It can happen though.
    Beginning of the season odds.
Philly to win NBA 1000 to 1,
Leicester City to win premiership 5000 to 1, BUT they are 5 games away from doing it and 7 points clear of the pack.
BUT Lin alone cannot do it. It’s requires alchemy of great coach, teamembers buying in and playing for each other and just plain luck. If it happens, it would be one of the greateat story in sports, just like the story of the Foxes this year.

  • CJSHYY

I hope he can beat Rox on Wed.

  • blueCypher

He’s put up a good string of games last couple weeks

  • CJSHYY

    What about Rondo?

  • blueCypher

It seems Rondo was just a a one year tryout. He is really not a PG for the modern NBA. He has no offensive game whatsoever. He gets assists but it’s just empty calories.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yeah, the overreaction ones are the non-Lin involved ones. those got called for flagrant fouls and served a purpose in the compilation

  • John Focker

Lin has done more with less…four years ago, and he’s improved vastly since. So as long as he’s given the PG reins and works with D’Antoni, anything could happen.

Hornets sucked last year and now they’re sixth in EC, and would’ve been second sans Kembaball.

  • Dan Ang

Wow, after watching the GD Clips highlights, I believe the refs got the memo. Lin is getting the normal foul calls the rest of the NBA are getting.

  • sws94

What happened in the 2nd half? The calls went against Lin.

  • Dan Ang

Not only did the refs got the memo, players got the same memo too. Memo to players around the league: No more hurting Jeremy Lin. Failure to comply will results in hefty fines.

  • Dan Ang

    Everything in moderation.
Anyways, I was saying based on the GD Clip highlights. I didn’t see the game.

  • sws94

    Yeah, guess so.

  • james brown

that’s true! whats not happening today MIGHT be DIFFERENT TOMORROW!

  • james brown

well some don’t see it yet, some do!

  • MorlockO

check here twitter, it is in her ankle.

  • MorlockO

lets just celebrate that there are more and more hot Girls becoming Jlin fans!

    HARVARDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • I think once kids hear that JLin’s taking requests for his hairstyle, there’s no stopping them 🙂

this is really sweet … so much better to be a Lin fan for these moments.

  • JoeTeam

lol LinMad, you have a heart after all …

  • LinMad

i think they could have been 4th this season if Cliff made some simple adjustments even with Kembaball in action.

  • LinMad

    ofc i do

  • Lefon Jang

Lin said his relationship with Kemba is genuine…
    http://youtu.be/oeRNPv-raIQ

  • sws94

It’s not about just Lin or what others see in Lin. And you are going on faith and hope, others can see it differently and still rate Lin’s abilities for magic high. Just in different scenarios, places.

  • sws94

    I believe him.

  • Lefon Jang

Listen to what he said about him and Kemba playing off each other, do you see that in the games? It looks like a one way street to me.

  • LinMad

    Lin is just too humble.

  • 9-min Jun Liu highlights!

  • LinMad

yay now i can lay on my bed and watch this before i sleep

  • There is some truth that Kemba genuinely cheered for JLin compared to many stars in his previous teams like Melo/Harden/Kobe. But IMO not to the extent that Kemba wants to share being Top Dog in the Hornets team for the long-term.

JLin is just being his usual classy self to focus on the positive part.
If they can band together to share the ball more as a result, the Hornets would have better chance in the playoff.

Win-win is definitely the way to go. It will be a good short-term partnership

  • Good math & good question

    @LeManDidier
TOR, CLE, SAS, BOS + LIN = WIN but can the coach do the math now?
    https://twitter.com/LeManDidier/status/719777065432526848

  • james brown

except that charging foul, officiating was a bit good

  • Acbc

There’s no point with arguing with some posters. Just fold and move on. They’re not even worth the time of day becuase they keep looking at the glass half empty.

Lin would have made the Last year into a playoff team had he been given a chance to play with Ed as a starter. There’s a universe of difference between a team with bad management deliberately tanking and the records they produce to a team that wants to win and build a team culture like the way the GSW have done. These guys look at the world as is and say that it’s proof of future events. They can’t have positive faith in the human factors that builds human solutions and human greatness. So the fact that Phili has been deliberately losing means nothing to them, all they see is the record and the negative human cancerous culture that destroys young lives instead of building them.

MDA and Lin are builders of men. The GM and president are builders of organizations. The change that’s coming in Phili next year will be clasticlismic because the kids there will finally have the fondation to put roots down and tap into positive life forces. With the foundation set and a positive culture to water their roots, they will grow so fast that they’d be a,forest of supermen in no time. With the help of coach Lin and MDA, a playing coach and a mastermind guiding their growth, they will become unstoppable.

IMO, Lin and MDA needs each other together to shove it into Dolan, Kobe, Jim Buss and and all the doubters that Linsnaity was a perfect sync of two great minds, and spirit. It will be like opening up another can of wupass and lighting in a bottle. Make it happen Collangelo!

  • james brown

that’s how i see it too!

  • Rick Johnson

Also got some off court issues.

  • james brown

    LOL!!!
who says i am going by faith alone? haven’t you seen enough for you to believe jlin can do those things if given the chance? one only needs to be given the opportunity even how mediore one is now to be able to turn the table around

maybe what i am seeing might be a non entity to you right now, that’s why my reply to him that what we (“DaBoss”) BOTH SEEING can’t be a reality to others!

  • @haralobob & Sam Vecenie (CBS writer) started to discuss JLin #TooFlagrantNotToCall video.
Hopefully there will be some articles coming soon before the playoff

  • james brown

what jeremy doesn’t like about the sixers was their tanking and losing mentality, but i guess not against the TEAM PER SE..

now , together with NBA org, coangelo and MDA, that perception will be addressed by new management, and new hope that both MDA and JLIN SEES this as their opportunity for a reunion!

if not,…. on to the team he will be playing for next season!

  • JoeTeam

Yay, time to hit the sack!

  • james brown

include also lebron’s action of holding jlin to prevent him to defend during ones houston against miami game

  • @haralobob even listened to what JLin’s confirmation about the video
So he knows JLin didn’t minimize the many non-calls incidents

    @haralabob
So is this – (you really have to turn your volume up for this one )

  • james brown

    great analysis.

  • that might qualify for star preferential calls (like Draymond Green grabbing jersey vs MEM) that refs turned their eyes blind because they like certain players/teams to win

I think Lin fans don’t ask for much; simply ask for missing review for Flagrant Fouls 1 or 2.
After all, this is endangering players health if stars can get away with head shots without any repercussion

  • John Focker

It’s genuine on Jeremy’s end, just not mutual or reciprocal.

  • John Focker

How could anyone say no to that smile?!

  • lol Celtics announcer tried to look for evidence of JLin’s offensive foul during replay
    “Any thoughts on that? I don’t know …” [7:28]

ref tried to show not too many calls going JLin’s way so it won’t be too suspicious how Lin got 10-10 Fts 🙂
There were definitely calls that refs were ready to blow whistle in JLin’s favor.
Many times, JLin would be the one called for the foul 2 out of 3 times

  • zxcvb

Full interview with Bryan Colangelo. Good listen.
    http://975thefanatic.com/2016/04/11/bryan-colangelo-joins-the-morning-show/

    – He emphasizes how you can’t judge based on raw numbers — depends on “their situation.”
    – He mentioned how PGs Lowry and Billups had to find “the right fit” before they broke out.

  • zxcvb

Lin is a true professional and team player. What else is he supposed to say? “Nah, Kemba is a nice guy but he plays selfish a lot, freezing me out.”

I’m sure he and Kemba are friends off the court, but stats show no chemistry on the court. Lin helps Walker’s stats, but Walker only hurts Lin. And only Lin can beat top teams.

  • xeroid

We are not the ones going on faith, Lin is. We are more into his ability, perseverance, and team spirits.

  • khomphuong2

Probably just because of Asian Night.

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe they could trade Okafor for a good SG. Bull’s seem to be weighing whether to get rid of Rose or Butler. Maybe trade Okafor and pieces to Bulls for Butler.

Props to who sent that video of Lin’s non call flagrant fouls to NBA refs. Lin fans made their point. NBA refs were put on notice and now they will be more careful in when it comes to lin. I really didn’t expect the refs to own up to their crappy calls. Although the players can’t say or do much about the refs crappy calls without getting fined, but the fans certainly can call them out. Good job!!

  • Wow, what a game from Lin. Outstanding display on the 2nd night of a back to back. He really set the tone in that 2nd quarter which lead to the Hornets win. That was such a dominant 2nd quarter from Lin, he was just doing whatever he liked. He took the Celtics apart on both ends of the court. It was a great game to watch.

  • CJSHYY

How come I feel he sounded like he was talking about Lin…? ” character, their situation, & the right fit…” Haha!

  • Spot

    Take that, Isaiah Thomas!

  • sws94

One can say your first sentence from their perspective as well. It’s camps of thought. Nobody is right. People can make arguments but all the MDA/Philly/Colangelo stuff is theoretical, not fact. Believe, not prophecy. Basically, opinion.

Nothing to do with the belief in Lin or valuing what Lin can do. Hopefully we all can see we believe in Lin may with different particulars, but belief in Lin should not be questioned for posters here.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

IT, right on your face! You haven’t had a good game against Jeremy for a long time.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes indeed the vid was done by JAD and the letter was written by Jenny with the assistance of KP. After seeing the response from NBA and comments from people, it’s plan to lounge another vid and letter to prove the points.

  • KHuang

This is the NBA where I don’t care what anybody says, Lin included.

I go by actions – and I’m tired of Kemba Walker playing SELFISH DEFENSELESS FREEZOUT LOSERBALL.

Walker needs to man up and run the damn plays, stop being so disrepectful of Coach Clifford and the Hornets franchise.

  • KHuang

    I don’t.

Not from the standpoint that I think Lin is lying, but from the standpoint that hard stats and video show a wildly different picture from what Lin is saying.

  • KHuang

But they cannot compile those videos because they don’t BLEED like Lin does.

  • sws94

I believe he and Kemba have a good relationship. On court, I think there’s minimal chemistry.

  • cdblue10

He sounded like he read my posts before…LOL

  • KHuang

I’m so tired of Lin haters on AttheHive and other fan forums saying that “Lin cannot start an entire season in the NBA”.

Lin did that THREE SEASONS AGO with the Rockets, averaging an impressive 13.1 points for 82 games as Houston’s starter on the #1 offensively ranked team in the NBA. And that’s as high a scoring output as any guard can possibly have alongside the ultratoxic James Harden.

Lin haters always INVENT GARBAGE OUT OF THIN AIR.

  • KHuang

I would be stunned if the 76ers offered Lin any contract at all.

  • CJSHYY

You don’t need to care about what atthehive said bc they did it on purpose to make Lin’s fans mad…. they had problems w Lin’s fans for a while … just forget about what they said.

  • JJ Hui

Even on this board, posters (haters or instigators) silent when Lin plays well. You can tell who they are !

  • sws94

Most said he could start and one guy said he shouldn’t because of his style of play, he’d get beaten down. Wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Unless, it’s a different thread. I’m looking at the post-game thread.

  • KHuang

Actually, atthehive in general has been VERY SUPPORTIVE of Lin.

But the narrative that “Lin cannot start in the NBA” is a tired debunked narrative that even Charlotte’s own head coach is too STUPID to go against.

  • KHuang

The mentality that Lin cannot start in the NBA has been a longstanding issue from the moment Linsanity broke out.

When Lin was a seasonlong starter for a playoff team despite having a weak minimum age minimum wage roster, haters were crowing that Lin was a FAILURE.

  • KHuang

I’m asking for far more than that.

I don’t see why Lin shouldn’t get the exact same calls that nonAsians get.

  • CJSHYY

That’s in the beginning. Plus depends on which reporter wrote the article or tweet…. never mind about them. They are not the boss or GM from the league.

  • It was kind of enjoyable to see Lin destroy them, given IT’s sarcastic comments on Lin’s high vote.

  • KL

Honestly I am gonna have to agree with the posters here who are not so excited about Lin joining the Sixers.

Mike D’Antoni is only an associate head coach. From the one live game I watched, only the head coach has any real power. Brett Brown will hang on to his career for dear life. He would know the connection between Lin and D’Antoni and may even supress Lin to ensure D’Antoni does not get too much credit.

To be clear I am not saying that Lin should stay in Charlotte or remain a backup. But there are many other options and possibilities. Maybe Mike D’Antoni could get a head coaching gig elsewhere. We will never know.

  • TTNN

Yeah, when people are discussing Schroder as a starting caliber player and consider Lin could not start, that’s just strange.

  • JJ Hui

Lin can play for Pop! It will be very Fun and Exciting!

  • sws94

I thought it was since McHale had him play on the bench in the 2nd season with Houston. After Linsanity, before Harden, the talk was he’s going to lead them and had Asik as his center. Then with Harden, potent back court. Then Harden decided he was a PG and center of the universe. After the playoffs where Beverley butchered his opponents, the idea of Beverley/Lin competing and the 2 starting PGs came from McHale and he chose Beverley (to fit with Harden). Then Lin became this great leader of 2nd units and his starting credentials were challenged.

Of course, there were doubters all along, even through the heights of Linsanity but the idea seemed cemented with McHale putting him on the bench to a wider group of NBA viewers and commentators.

  • KL

Spurs would be great. But I am worried that Duncan may retire soon…

  • sws94

Clifford had no idea how to manage Lin’s minutes yesterday. He brings him in the usual 4 minute mark or so in the 1Q, Lin goes into elite superstar mode in the 2Q and he plays Lin to the end of the half. Fine. But then Batum goes down 1 minute into the 2nd half, in comes Lin, and he doesn’t go out until really late in the game. Lin needed a few minutes rest in the 4th, everyone could see that. Clifford just kept him in.

  • JJ Hui

Let them live a miserable life! Lol!

  • sws94

LMA is going to be the main big man on the team. It’s already happening. Ginobili should retire. He’s not close to what he used to be. Parker will play for a few more years, IMO. He’s still good. Green, idk, his game has fallen off considerably lately. Don’t know if it is injuries, fatigue or what.

  • BobbyH

So many uncertainties. But what if Brown is let go? Really, 76ers is in a rebuild mode and they need new leadership on court and off court. We shall see how 76ers situation pans out.

  • CJSHYY

That’s why I don’t get it… I always listen to the other team’s commentators… They all said Batum is great & going to get max or great contract… but w Lin only he had good year w Hornets…no more?! Or he’s a good player.

  • KL

If Brown goes then things will change dramatically. But like I said, Brown will try to hang on.

  • BobbyH

Yes, of course he will. But it is not his call any more. Just wait for the news during playoff.

  • CJSHYY

My guess maybe bc Lin’s current contract it’s too low & no one knows how he’s FA will be?

  • JJ Hui

What did he say? I missed that. Would you mind to share? Thanks!

  • KL

We will see if the Colangelos have the guts to do the right thing or just maintain appearances.

  • blueCypher

Agree. If batum gets injured and u know u have to close the game with jlin he should have been resting the start of the 4th

  • BobbyH

In the name of anit-tank, I think he will.

  • i don’t have a link handy, but he said something like, “all-star vote is about popularity, not skill. for example, look at jeremy lin. he’s ranked at __”.

there was a good amount of discussion on it. maybe others will have a link.

  • JJ Hui

Lin has good skills in people’s relationship and he is smart not to reveal his real feeling to the media!

  • JJ Hui

Lin will never tell the media, he is smarter than that!

  • JJ Hui

    Thanks!

  • JJ Hui

I read somewhere said that they will have coaching changes too!

  • xeroid

Might not be a long wait. I think there will be a long line when Lin shows what he can do in the coming playoffs.

  • Yascar
  • Win

Agreed. Could have rest Lin a little. I understand Cliff wants to keep the momentum and ride into playoff. But risking injury player for the purpose of 5th the 6th seed is point. But at least we see that the most important is to win game so it will ride with Lin if he is in superstar mode even if it mean less time for Kemba or other players like what he did in the beginning of this season. (benched KW for most of the 4th qty)

Also, people have to know this, KW is not bad as a shooting guard and Lin need players who can score a bunch in a hurry. This is a TEAM and TEAM need different type of players such as Al to slow down the game when up big.

But whether Cliff has used his players correctly is a different story. So far I think he has done a decent job this season with all the injuries imo no matter what people say.

  • sws94

This is a team and Kemba is Lin’s teammate. He’s a solid scorer. Lin and him had some good moments on the court in last night’s game. Al played an overall good game too and Lin was tired in the end and looked to a rested Al to make buckets in the post.

Cliff can play guys too many minutes and his rotations aren’t always the best. But, he’s in the playoffs, his record is good and guys play hard for him.

  • donsmacau

Key reason JLIN had the freedom to explode in the 2nd quarter was very simple — Al Jefferson was moved to Starting Squad.

If you look back at the Washington Wizards game you will notice JLIN and even Troy Daniels, repeatedly forced the ball into Big Al in the low post as a DIRECTIVE from Clifford. Al’s abseence in BOS was the ONLY reason JLIN had the freedom to impose his playmaking will repeatedly on the game from speed of tempo, to creating his own shots, to driving the lane.

Don’t get me wrong – Alfense can be useful in some situations though his skills have declined, he is worst against a big who will be as physical as he is but he is adequate against lesser opponents who must double him.

But the issue is Big Al is a detriment to JLIN’s bench force – he destroys ball movement, weak paint defense, play flow, tempo, and he is a black hole where a pass goes in and 10% chance it comes back out. This is fine for Kemba’s starters who can deal with more ISO oriented play, get’s help defense from Marv and Kemba’s style matches great alternating with Al.

  • donsmacau

Kemba is a fantastic 6th man all around Combo Guard.
He would be a fearsome weapon off the bench against 2nd stringers; he would get big stats points.

Obviously he shouldn’t start over JLIN if they have any hope of a playoff run – but it is Kemba’s team so that….

  • donsmacau

Not many predicted Sam Hinkie will leave this team.

Brett Brown a Hinkie hire will get with the program as defined by the Colangelos and MDA or Coach Brown will not survive the Summer. Said program involves JLIN as the starting point guard.

Even if Brown embraces JLIN he will not last the season and will likely be gone before All-Star break.

  • donsmacau

Not only can JLIN start – next season he will start.

As I said, it is a bitter-sweet time for die hard Hornets fans – they see Linsanity and desperately wish to keep it on their team — but with every wonderful performance it dawns on them that is a pipe-dream.

  • heart

At least one mainstream sporting news reports this complaint and even reached out to the NBA and Hornets for comments. Thank you Justin Block, Associate Sports Editor from the Huffington Post.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

For me, I don’t think Lin should sign with the Sixers if they draft a PG….Although they could promise Lin the starting PG job for at least the first year and choose to bring Dunn slowly by having him come off the bench.

  • Win

Yup. So there is no wrong on Kemba, the FO has decided to invested on Kemba before Lin arrival. They will not just throw away the money that have already invested. To me it is not really a issue whether is a starter or now as long as:

    1) 30+ Mins and close game and being promoted by Hornets as a main core of the team.

    2) When Kemba is not on the court, let him run the offense.

    3) When Lin is hot, let him have the ball even if KW on the court. KW actually has show he is willing to let Lin play when Lin is hot.

  • donsmacau

Colangelo and D’Antoni would never allow a rookie point guard to start or even a young point guard. HISTORICAL fact and look at JerryC forcing Ish Smith back on the Sixers.

They will keep JLIN as their starting PG for at least 3 years as JLIN is coming into his prime (30yo prime for PGs)

  • BobbyH

Finally a fair one coming out.

  • donsmacau

Your 2) they rarely did this season but now seems he’s getting more playmaking control

Starting with the ball in your hand as playmaker (which JLIN only does when Kembatum out) is very very important for JLIN. Every interview he talks about “Rhythm” is key for him. And that only comes with the regularity of starting when you are a ball dominant playmaker. When he steps on floor 5min mark he still doesnt get the ball.

He can’t get that rhythm consistently on this team because he wont start but he will when he moves next season

  • aras

    Big Game Lin

  • wow, that’s a really good presentation and summary of everything that’s gone on so far. I recommend highlighting it.

  • Brewkowski

    That works!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

lol. the NBA is getting some real pressure now. should have handled it better instead of basically giving fans the middle finger. can’t wait until all of China see’s the video…..

  • sws94

There is no wrong. Kemba should be the franchise player. His Kemba-strength numbers are outstanding this season. He’s 25 years old. He’s been with the team 3, 4 years?

Kemba doesn’t play well with other PGs. He didn’t with Mo, he doesn’t that well with Lin. If he wants to step his game up to the next level, he’ll have to learn how to play with other PGs more effectively.

    Agree, 1-3. Absolutely.

Kemba’s a really strong player doing Kemba things. Ball handling, getting to his spots, creating his own shot and sometimes in tandem with Al. Except for some defenders and defences. He can be manhandled by strong defenders like Bradley. Bradley couldn’t push Lin around, Lin absorbed Bradley’s bodying him up and just blew by him a few times. Bradley said in his post-game comments Lin is a good player and made great plays for his team.

Use the weapon more in the playoffs, Cliff. And for Lin, just hope he has the energy and comes out with it a lot in the playoffs.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup. Big Al clogged up the lanes and doesn’t even budge on defense. and they always run the offense through him. clifford does everything WRONG

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

kemba will go right back to inefficient chucking next season without LIn to help him. even worst, he will end up playing with selfish players who will take away some of his shots. i hope you’re ready for next season!

  • Arsenium12 .

Here is a brief overview of the possibilities for the standings based on the last two days of play (i.e. today and tomorrow).

Note that X means “team will be below that position” — and — ^ means “team will be above that position”.

Heat : if they win both their games they take 3rd place. If they lose both they’re in 6th.
Celtics : if they win their game they could take 3rd or 4th place. If they lose they could take 5th or 6th.
Hornets : if they win their game they’re likely in 5th place.

Foxsports wrote this : Why the Charlotte Hornets could win the NBA title
    http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/why-the-charlotte-hornets-could-win-the-nba-title-040616

His key argument was Kemba and crew (no mention of JLIN) could “defeat the best teams in the League.”

That is not true because Kemba has NOT ONCE this year led the charge in defeating the top elite teams – JLIN has.

Kemba is a 6th man and that will become glaring next season on the Hornets

  • Win

Agreed. I really hope Hornets can surprise a lot of so call good team in da east.

  • heart

I posted this article on the sticky tag of all non-calls of flagrant fouls for future reference. All should also Post any articles, twitters, videos relating to Lin’s non-calls or phantom foul calls there, so we can gather the evidence more easily in the future.

  • sws94

Right now he’s with Lin and they are going to the playoffs. Not looking past that in this discussion.

  • donsmacau

Kemba loves playing with Big Al and has for many seasons.

Let JLIN have Cody back for Big Al – that is if you want better playoff run chance

  • james brown

maybe watching some very old games way back centuries ago? joke!!! LOL

  • Win

Same here. Next season is next season and no one know what Lin wanna do. So let enjoy this playoff. It has been a long time for Lin too. Hope he continue to play well in the playoff.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

cody over big al any day!

  • donsmacau

    You bet.

I’m always ready to discuss JLIN and the off-season moves to his new job as a starter

  • Win

I am sick of these articles. They don’t basketball at all. Hornets is the Hornets and right now Hornets need everyone. The lock down defense CAN NOT BE DONE BY ONE OR TWO PLAYER. It is a team thing!

  • james brown

    LOL!

  • sws94

I think Cody isn’t going out of the starting lineup due to his chemistry with Batum. Batum is Cliff’s favorite facilitator by far.

  • heart

They have Lin’s pic posted but not a written word about him. Did I miss it? What a joke!

  • james brown

that’s what we can expect because thay want to promote KW only!

  • donsmacau

How fair is it that this clueless writer points to all the elite wins against top teams in the league but doesn’t realize those came about because of Injuries to Hornets or disastrous play by starters, allowing JLIN to decisively lead those wins?

  • donsmacau

Total JOKE at first I thought I must have missed something then I searched entire page for JLIN’s name and ZERO mention

  • Win

Just ignore these bias writers. It will makes you day better. 🙂

  • Arsenium12 .
  • donsmacau

Batum needs to learn to work with Al if this team has any chance in the playoffs.

There are not only points left on the table with Al on JLin’s Bench but MOMENTUM, TEAM CONFIDENCE and MORALE that are suppressed when AL plays from Bench.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

If they draft a PG as their lottery pick, this guy will play…They’d be a lot of pressure to develop him.

No way does the Sixers draft a PG in the top 5 and keep him on the bench….These days, if you’re a top 5 draft pick, you will play a lot…Look at Mudaiy in Denver and D’Angelo with Lakers…

  • donsmacau

No chance any rookie drafted PG starts on a Colangelo/MDA team – don’t care if he’s the 2nd coming of Magic Johnson, he will not start for the entire season.

  • sws94

Lin needs to get to round 2, then deeper, then maybe championship and hopefully win that. I don’t know if this team can go deeper than first, but it took Garnett a long time to get past the first round. You need the right team.

  • sws94

How do you know this? You speak with this definitive tone of things that haven’t happened yet as though you were the person to make it happen. There are no guarantees in basketball either way. Maybe Zcode is right and he gave good examples. Maybe not. Maybe things will pan out just like you said. Or not. None of us know.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I think you’re 100% wrong here..Times have changed…I’m telling you that if they draft a PG as their number 1 pick, this guy will play a lot…I think you are terribly wrong for thinking otherwise…I don’t even think they’d sign Lin if they draft Dunn, to be honest with you.

It’s not only the fan that would put pressure on them, but the media…Just like the media could not understand how is it that the number 2 draft pick wasn’t playing 30mpg…Scott got lambasted by Lakers fan and many in the media for not starting D’Angelo.

  • donsmacau

JLIN does not NEED to do anything.

If Clifford WANTs to mke the 2nd round – he knows what he must do to get there and that involves the rock in JLIN’s hands without a directive to feed the post.

If Clifford chooses not to do what has become abundantly clear this season it is on Clifford when he gets an early round exit

  • sws94

I think your scenario is more likely due to the points you made. And Scott is seen as a joke in the basketball world now and he needs to be fired.

  • donsmacau

Times haven’t changed for the Colangelo’s.

They have just implemented an old fashioned Coup of the 76ers – believe what you wish – your wrong.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup. Lin fans are 2 steps ahead of the curve. we’re playing chess while everyone else are playing checkers

  • james brown

was there a better alternative than russell? or just like dons had said, MDA does not play a rookie as a starter if they have somebody who is better at the moment? maybe with some other coaches it will be applicable, but not with CLIFFORD, nor with MDA and the latest BS(for whatever reasons he may have)

  • KHuang

Like I wrote to you on the other forum, I am not as against Al Jefferson as you are. But I do respect your stance.

I personally like Al Jefferson very much. That’s because I like post up play in general and appreciate that Jefferson usually makes teams pay for loading up on Lin defensively. That positive effect is muted with Nicholas Batum selfishly hoggig the ball with the bench, though.

If Lin’s success is what we are interested in, then it’s Nicolas Batum’s status that is more impactful than Jefferson. Because when Batum’s out, Lin usually has a huge game especially if it’s against a good team.

  • KHuang

Lin’s so damn good, he’ll get the most out of ANY big man as long as they get enough minutes to acclimate to him.

  • donsmacau

I am not against Al either as I made clear in my post. He can be useful in situations with the starting unit.

Al on the otherhand provides only a hindrance to the benchforce in what the benchforce has shown this season that they do best.

  • KHuang

I consider them equal alongside Lin, both having various good points they bring.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

“IF” they pick Dunn, he will play a lot, trust me….Why pick a PG so high and not play him?

They would be better off not drafting a PG if the idea is to minimize his minutes or bring him along very slowly…Most top 5 picks expects to play right away and everybody expect this..From the fan to the media…This is the new norm..You don’t pick a player in the top 5 slot and keep him on the bench..

You play him right away and give him every chance to make you look smart for picking him

  • sws94

I agree with this. Al and Lin aren’t terrible together.

  • donsmacau

Minutes forced into the Big Al low post — are minutes that could be used to sow disarray on the opposing team, to gain momentum and to break down the defense.

  • KHuang

    Heh heh.

I have no real issues with Clifford on this, especially since Lin was HOT and the Hornets WON!

At least Clifford didn’t bench Lin for being hot against rhe Celtics the way Byron Scott did last season when Lin scored 14 points in 18 minutes!

  • donsmacau

Any drafted PG that the Sixers wish to pick will get a few minutes from the bench for a ENTIRE season at least until the Colangelos/MDA determine that he will NOT BE A DISASTER on the court.

  • KHuang

    Agree

  • sws94

Don’t get what you have against Batum. I find him to play like an international player. He shares the ball pretty well and now looks for Lin more than ever. He’s been very supportive of Lin in his post-game comments as well.

When Batum is out, Lin looks to make up his production. Therefore he takes a more active role. Same with Kemba but he’s only been out once. Batum has missed quite a few games and 2 half games.

  • KHuang

Actually, pointing out their RACISM makes our days better!

  • KHuang

    Disagree completely.

Lin should be the Charlotte franchise player, not Walker or Batum.

Lin’s had a far better overall career than Walker, and he’s outplaying Walker despite coming off the bench.

  • sws94

Lin was gassed and was beginning to stumble around some he was so tired. He wasn’t that hot in the 4th Q, he didn’t score. He was looking to distribute mostly.

  • james brown

NBA ORG placed them there to sow order and changes for their tanking and losing mentality..coangelo already indirectly outlined the changes and executed one of it in the likes of hinkie…coaches too are not safe as he said as one of his agenda!

  • KHuang

It’s taking MVP efforts from Lin to sustain the winning – and often even that is not enough.

Charlotte wouldn’t even be in the playoffs without Lin. Had they not signed Lin to be the 3rd string PG behind Kemba Walker and Brian Roberts, the Hornets would be the same loser 30 win team they have always been in the Walker era.

  • sws94

Lin needs to stay with one team for two seasons before that happens. Lin would not be well received without that time spent with the team were he made franchise player.

Walker’s numbers this season can’t be disputed. For the type of player he is, even with his shortcomings, he’s done well overall.

  • KHuang

I personally think that Jeremy Lamb being unfairly benched and Nicolas Batum hogging are having far more of a negative impact than Jefferson.

  • donsmacau

JLIN is making just ONE MORE MOVE in his career. So you need not concern yourself.

JLIN gets his starting job next season then leads his own NBA team to MANY successful years.

  • KHuang

I don’t like Batum because he thinks he’s Magic Johnson but plays like Tragic Johnson.

As for post game comments, I don’t take them seriously even when Lin is saying them. I only go by PRODUCTION.

  • DX

My favor opponent order: Celtic, Hawks, Heat.

  • donsmacau

JLamb is a net positive almost every time he steps on court.

Clifford playing his petty games with hating on JLamb.

  • james brown

agree!…being gassed is just part of playing for he was not given such kind of PT, he’s not accustomed playing longer period with hornets as cliff’s gives him..if he knew he will be playing this long, jeremy knew what to do and how to pace with his game…as usual, being given only enough minutes as per experienced before this game, normal tendency was to give it all immediately for simple reason he will be rested as usual.

  • Win

Batum is following order as a one of the main facilitator in the starting unit. He has shown he is willing to pass the ball to Lin almost all the time. But I do agreed on Batum is not as good as Lin in terms of facilitating

  • KHuang

    They’ve inflicted major damage together.

Some of those games when Lin has multiple bench players with 5 or more points in low minutes, Jefferson has been a big part of causing that.

Unlike any big man on the Hornets, Jefferson actually has to be guarded. That opens up the court for Lin to either facilitate or score unstoppably.

  • donsmacau

With elbow, lower back, shoulder and ankle injuries your recovery time from being gassed is slower as well.

  • sws94

Lin was crucial. Yes. But I think Marvin’s play is very important. His presence, his leadership, his defense. Kemba’s scoring was needed in many games, Batum despite his TOs moves the ball in a way that fits this offense, they are all just as key. Lin is a unique presence and force on the team, I can’t describe him any other way because he contributes in so many ways starting or off the bench. He’s an asset both ways.

Lin wasn’t the 3rd string PG. Roberts didn’t have the minutes Lin did and had several DNPs. Lin is a guard that comes in later in the game. There’s no real accurate description of his very versatile role on this team. It isn’t backup PG for sure, or SG, that’s selling him short.

  • KHuang

    AGREE.

I’m far angrier with Clifford over his mistreatment of Lamb than I am with Clifford’s handling of Lin.

That’s because I’ve been Lamb’s biggest fan for the last four years.

  • james brown

agree! because lin is better than KW on all facet of their game!

  • sws94

Can’t take this I know what will happen from Lin seriously. Sorry. You have your opinion. Fine. But you don’t know.

  • sws94

I think that’s a debate that’s not winnable this season. There are things Kemba does better. Career wise, I don’t know. I don’t see the point of comparison. They are different players in different situations. If Lin was with the same team for so long, his career would be different. I like Lin’s game far better but I respect some of the things I’ve watched Kemba do while disliking very strongly other things.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I think a better argument for you is “they don’t draft a PG” since they are already eyeing signing Lin.

I think it’s going to be Draft Dunn or sign Lin…I don’t think it can be both.

  • donsmacau

And you don’t know either and you are not even close.

From the time Jerry Colangelo joined the Sixers – I researched and made predictions about coaching, the GM, free agency and those predictions based on analysis have all been spot on so far.

You on the other hand have just your intuition – you can say what I predicted was obvious, but guess what I’m the only one who wrote about those four months ago.

My last prediction was JLIN to Sixers as starter – Just sit back and watch.

  • sws94

Lin resting 3 minutes or so would have had him fresher. Kemba got to rest, Lin didn’t. His play was becoming less effective and a coach should recognize that and rest a key player accordingly. He was the best player by far in the game and was compromised.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Tragic Johnson LOL. but seriously, Batum is being forced to play this way by clifford. i have no problem with him. Big Al on the other hand is just awful. he clogs up the lanes preventing guard penetration. the Celtics game was a prime example of how effectively Lin was driving into the lanes without Big Al there

  • donsmacau

Marv is a free agent that will not stay with Hornets next season and the starters will devolve because of his departure.

Marv is the momentum changer for starters.

  • james brown

agree again! it was so obvious on all previous games! coming from behind to win, last points for the win, leading the team for the lead to make everybody comfortable enough to pad their stats, diminishing PT/USAGE/TOUCHES…etc!

  • KL

Here are my thoughts on Kemba Walker. I will try to give a balanced view.

Kemba has rightly been described as “Harden-Lite”. In some ways he is better than Harden. In some ways, worse.

Firstly, compared to Harden, Kemba is not so obnoxious, not so selfish and not such a big ball hog. I think we may have forgotten how much of a ball hog Harden was. I remember an ESPN article stating that Harden was the league leader in the amount of time he held the ball (not just usage%).

However, Harden is much more talented offensively. Harden has the upper body strength to force his way through defenders and draw fouls. Kemba often seems to be scoring “under” the defenders. He neither has the size or strength to push straight through, nor the athleticism to score over anyone. Also Kemba lacks court vision even if he is not so selfish.

Kemba works harder on defence compared to Harden. However, his lack of size is a problem. Also Kemba does not fight through screens hard enough. Against any dominant PG, Kemba will struggle. Harden has the size and speed but prefers to save his energy for offence.

Kemba is better as a clutch player. Kemba takes a lot of shots in the clutch. He makes some and misses some. That is still better than Harden’s clutch TO galore.

Overall, the playoffs will be about which Kemba will show up.

Jeremy once mentioned in an interview that when he was with the Rockets and they were playing the Clippers, the game plan was to allow Chris Paul to score a lot. (Lin was trying to give an example of team defence strategy). Houston kept track of stats which showed that the Clippers were more likely to lose if Chris Paul scored a lot.

So, if the other team sets out to stop Walker, Lin and the other players will run riot and probably win the game. If they let Kemba score, then Hornets are probably going to lose..

  • sws94

I think it depends on what Al does. If he looks for Lin to cut or just keeps going back and forth with him, it’s fantastic basketball. If he tries to force too much and the offense becomes predictable “Alfense”, then the momentum, flow is all bogged down. The balance has to be right. For the most part, it was last night.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

My guess is if they draft Dunn with such a high draft pick, they will have faith in their decision that he wouldn’t be a disaster…Isn’t that obvious?

By the way, I’ve never seen Dunn play, so don’t really know how good he is OR would his skills translate to the NBA.

But if they pick him, that means Colangelo believe he will be good.

I doubt Colengelo picks a PG and than proceed to not give him any time to prove himself…Rookie usually takes some time to flowish and if they make that pick, they will give him room to grow.

  • sws94

He’s different and very sloppy. He sees over the defenses and is good from certain spots in the floor to find guys. Lin is much more varied. He can dribble/drive, he can probe, he can throw lobs much better, he is much more explosive in transition, etc. He can handle traps better and draw defenses to him much more than Batum.

  • KL

The Heat has good defence against PGs and the pick and roll under Spoelstra. However, Lin is not playing much PG and virtually no pick and rolls! So an upset is possible!

Celtics are not so talented but they are well coached. They may change their game plan and just focus on stopping Lin.

Hawks are a good all round team and it will take an inspired effort led by Lin to even win a couple of games against them.

  • james brown

when we are talking about a leader. JLIN can be the one, because his examples can be followed of those who has same minds and thinking, winning games! and marv liked how jlin play!

  • sws94

I don’t see the hogging much. I think he tries to play in a team context. Walker, I see hogging for sure. Batum, not much.

  • donsmacau

    Kemba has a bottom-line deficiency:

Kemba CANNOT lead WINs against the top teams in the NBA. Why?
    – Mental impediment after so many repeated failures to elite teams over many seasons
    – Whithering hard-nosed in your face, heavy body defense takes Kemba completely out of his game.

    JLIN has no such deficiency.

  • donsmacau

Unless you are once in a generation Magic Johnson or Lilliard, no team allows a rookie to start as PG in the NBA. It’s actually laughable that Colangelos would even contemplate starting a young pg.

Let’s just wait and see – you have your opinion I have mine.

  • KL

Oh yeah Jeremy is an elite player to me. No doubt about that.

  • Win

But Lamb defense is just…. His length helps a little but overall he got lost on defense pretty often. Cliff is a defensive mind coach (Well at what he claimed). So see Lamb’s minute got cut is just normal. Another thing is they doesn’t need Lamb on making plays or create his own shot as much as we all know that this team have a lot of players that can create their own shot such as KW, Batum, Al, etc. So putting Daniel in play as a role as what Steve Novak used to be with the Knicks is not a bad idea at all.

  • sws94

    I’ve said I don’t know.

  • sws94

I think Marv and Lin will talk after the season. They seem to get along well and Marv is also very religious.

  • james brown

i do respect KW too, but i believe JLIN DO IT BETTER thats why i followed him and not KW..i am a realist too, and the reason i watched NBA now is because i found a complete player , on and off the court..you believe what you want to believe, i follow what i want to follow, that’s why i’m no longer reading some of your post because you remain with your opinion and theres no need to raise points already raised before!

    my last for you!

    enjoy!

  • Epie

Not sure if you remember but Batum used to hog a lot, as much as Kemba. For some reason, he has started playing more teamball, maybe in the last few months. But if you remember, we used to joke that NB was hogging because he didn’t want Kemba to hog and lose.

  • Win

Agreed. Batum is following order most of the time but he is a willing passer when Cliff doesn’t make play call. Also, lately I have seen Clifford calling less play on the offensive end which is really a good thing as Clifford doesn’t have much talent on the offensive end.

  • james brown

what to expect from CLIFF? JLIN CAN play longer PT if you give it to him head on!

  • sws94

    Enjoy!

  • KHuang

Interesting what Lin said about allowing Chris Paul to score a lot.

I wrote the exact same thing here and on the other forum for YEARS but got FLAMED BY TROLLS for it.

  • sws94

PT total minutes yes. With sensible resting in between. Lin can play upper 30 or even 40s. I object to playing him those straight minutes. I guess you can say Cliff found Lin so important in this game, he couldn’t rest him.

  • KHuang

But Lin has ALWAYS been able to drive at will against the Celtics’ weak interior defense and unathletic guards, dating back to Lin’s Rockets days.

  • sws94

Yes, he was over-managing, micro-managing. Let the players flow without having to hear him bark out orders so much.

  • Win

I just wanna state that when Clifford make/force Batum to be a facilitator, he is only doing that job ok which we all knows that he has a lot of TO when playing that role. But when Clifford doesn’t make play call when Lin and Batum on the floor (but without KW), they actually fit pretty well playing with each other. It is not Batum false for given the role that is not best suited him.

  • KHuang

    Lamb’s DEFENSE?

The same Jeremy Lamb who the Hornets have BETTER defensive numbers with? Courtney Lee and Troy Daniels are TERRIBLE defenders compared to Lamb.

And as far as Lamb creating, Lin NEEDS THAT. It takes tremendous pressure off Lin when opponents are forced to guard Lamb. Even when Lamb shoots poorly, it opens up the court for Lin to dominate.

I don’t look at Lamb from a Lincentric view. I look at Lamb from a WINNING view – and Lamb WINS.

  • Win

Same here! I strongly believe hassan whiteside will create a lot of problems for the Hornets.

  • Win

Yea. But Big Al is useful under certain situations. Such as slow down the game when Hornets have a big lead. Or mismatch against other team with no good BIG defender. Therefore I strongly believe Heats is the worst opponent for the Hornets.

  • james brown

maybe will be joining with the same team?

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i don’t care about kemba, batum, big al, tank, or lamb. i just hope Lin doesn’t ever have to play with these guys after this season. i don’t mind marvin, cody, daniels, and maybe lee as possible Linsanity pieces though

  • KHuang

Whiteside might be problematic to the Hornets starters, but he won’t be problematic to Lin.

Lin’s history against elite shotblockers is that they might get him once but then they never get him again.

To counter Whiteside, all Lin needs to do is draw Whiteside out to the 3 point line and then send cutters down low at the lightly guarded Miami rim.

Then it’s a matter of whether the Heat hold down Lin’s number while Lin’s bench teammates go off or whether Lin himself goes off. It’s a dilemma that no NBA team has solved, at least when the Hornets are not playing selfish loser isoball.

  • Win

Ehhh, Not sure if you watched the game but yes, most of the time defense collapse because of Lamb. Clifford saw it and doesn’t like it a bit.

You can kinda tell how Clifford see it by claiming this was the best game in recent weeks. Lock down defense and that what really won Hornets the game last night. And yea, Lin is super talented but defense is a TEAM THING!!!

  • Win

Agreed with you on the offensive end about Lamb though.

  • KHuang

Batum is EXCELLENT when he sticks to being a wing scorer.

When he breaks the offensive sets by hogging the ball as a fake wannabe point guard, that’s when he gets himself into trouble.

Batum’s problem is that he’s more James Worthy than Magic Johnson.

  • donsmacau

I love Marv’s excellent 3pt shooting and his defense and CLee’s hustle but the Sixers will be very judicious in the limited number of free agents they select.

Most critical to the MDA point guard centric is of course JLIN.
But beyond that it is a matter of convincing top players to join the lowly Sixers (not an easy task) and ensuring that all the young raw talent still gets playing time to develop.

  • Win

A high pick and roll should work too. Lin speed and quick first step should be able to give Whiteside a hard time.

  • james brown

well i am just following on the topic at hand why a rookie can’t be played as a starter..less clutter and easy to digest.

for an answer, if ish remain, they will not need a rookie pg or a vet for a back up, but if ish is a let go, then they will in lieu of JLIN joining them as a starting PG.

  • KHuang

I’d ditch every single one of the guys you mentioned.

I’d keep Lamb and Hansbrough and Kaminsky as future Linsanity pieces.

Were I a GM this season, I’d have offered something like the injured Joel Embiid and Isaiah Canaan for all four of them.

  • Win

Yea. But he never ask to be a point guard. Clifford did.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i think the most important piece to Linsanity aside from Lin himself, is the pnr big man. the only guy i know who can run that with perfection with Lin is Ed Davis. i’m sure MDA can find the other pieces easily

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    nah

  • Win

I wouldn’t mind if Batum, Marvin, Clee, Franks, Cody, Lamb, Daniel, all go to 76ers with Lin.

  • james brown

    pass…

  • donsmacau

Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric and even Jahlil Okafor — all close 7ftrs on team now

Each could be a P&R threat if taught properly

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yeah, i see huge potential in Okafor as the pnr big for Linsanity. he loves to play pnr. the only problem is his off court issue

  • Win

With a whole bunch of immature NBA newbie, we might see a d’angelo russell again in Philly. As Gregg Popovich said, character is very important to a good team.

  • Win

I meant d’angelo russell and nick young drama

  • Michael

What if it’s a big glass.

  • JE Ballew

I agree. Do not go to Whiteside strength. Shoot before he can block, or bring him out from under the basket. It’s not a good idea to challenge him under the basket.

  • Michael

Lol hey it’s late here no laughing.

  • Michael

    Most ignored player.

A List of Jeremy Lin NBA Missed Stats & Non-Calls

04/12/2016 These NBA Fans Are Trying To Get Jeremy Lin Some Damn Respect, Justin Block, HuffingtonPost

Why aren’t referees calling flagrant fouls when Lin gets hit in the head?

04/08/16 Frequency of Hard Fouls on Jeremy Lin Raise Suspicion of Racial Bias Among NBA Officials, Gabriel Reilich, Good Magazine

04/08/2016 Reddit: Too Flagrant Not To Call, PZinger6, Reddit

  • Sundown
  • David Kim

    From reddit psalm posted

I don’t see any reason to believe it’s not racial. Study of N.B.A. Sees Racial Bias in Calling Fouls:
White referees called fouls at a greater rate against black players than against white players […] Justin Wolfers, an assistant professor of business and public policy at the Wharton School, and Joseph Price, a Cornell graduate student in economics, found a corresponding bias in which black officials called fouls more frequently against white players, though that tendency was not as strong. They went on to claim that the different rates at which fouls are called “is large enough that the probability of a team winning is noticeably affected by the racial composition of the refereeing crew assigned to the game.”
Since they aren’t any Asian referees, Lin is probably at a disadvantage in every game.

  • Added it.. Thanks!

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I frankly don’t understand your argument…Are you saying that Colangelo could actually pick a young PG as the #1 or #2 pick overall and not give him heavy minute from the start to prove himself?…Players, specially PG, takes time to develop.I’m certain he would play him regardless.

Again, my point is if Colengelo draft a PG with such a high pick, with all this money invested, he will make sure that guy gets lots of minutes because his job status would depend on how well did he draft for the Sixers organization.

Again, you also fail to understand that if he picks him and that guy fails to demonstrate he’s any good, Colangelo will be criticized for picking the wrong player.

This is why high draft pick usually play right away..to make the person who picked them look good.

So I simply can’t see how he could pick a PG this high and not tell his coach to play him since he will get so much credit for drafting him.

Look at all the credit Phil Jackson is getting for picking Portzingis….So believe me, whoever Colangelo picks as the #1 draft pick, this guy will play A LOT!.

  • takeme2cruz

It’s all good that fans want to bring notices to the NBA about Lin’s unfair non-calls but we need to stop at racism because it won’t help Lin if this goes out of control. Owners, GMs, coaches wanted nothing to do with controversial player in their team and in their locker room. Even worse his strong fans playing out the race card when no evidence to convict those refs. I hope people need to stop accusing the NBA tolerating the refs making call base on race, this can back fire at Lin directly and at us indirectly. Sometime good intention do bring bad consequences.

  • Win

And then this come up. No wonder Lin fans hate Kemba so much all thanks to these bias sport writers. They don’t understand this kind of article is hurting the team and KW more than helping.

I actually feel Al is passing out of the double team much more…and I’ve seen Lin benefit quite a lot from Al’s passes, specially when Lin cuts to the basket.

Lin has scored quite a few point on Al’s passes.

  • Loretta Tang

What a game Jeremy played at Celtics last night? He played free. He played great. He got FOUL CALLS for him!!! He smiled a lot even while sitting on the court.

I want to thank Psalm and the dedicated Moderators for establishing and maintaining this site. Vision of this site, “Positively Bringing Together JLin Fans” , was fulfilled last night in the most amazing way.

Special thanks also go to Jenny and CP Chen for the letter to NBA commissioner; to JAD for the creative video documenting NO FOUL CALLS; and the succinct intro by the retired director of NBA officials, Ronnie Dunn. What a TEAM WORK.

Let’s enjoy Jeremy’s journey, support him, and learn from him. His prayer lists are great teaching tools for us. I believe that he will give us lots of surprises, therefore there is no need to argue on the hypothetical, particularly on what he should do. Thanks again to all who sent letters.

  • I wouldn’t take this CBS Fantasy Basketball article seriously.
It’s clear they just looked at the boxscore and write ‘balanced attack’ to churn out articles

  • cdblue10

Go JLin and get some wins in the playoff!!!!!!

  • Win

I just hope that Hornets can stick together as a team and surprise the h*** out of the teams in the eastern conference.

  • yes, if the Hornets are willing to play free-flowing team-ball, they can create some upsets.
It will be so good for them and JLin’s FA.
I hope they remember how they beat Atlanta by 23+ points after MJ asked them to play as a team

  • jimmyL

    The Celtics are talented
Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder(if you are saying he’s not talented, you don’t know basketball at all), Evan Turner, Olynyk, Bradley, Marcus Smart etc they have good young players

  • Avery Bradley is a good dude who complimented JLin as a good player who was very aggressive to help his team.

Avery Bradley: He was making great plays for his team. @JLin7 is a good player and he proved it tonight. #CHAatBOS

@Psalm, I did some postings of the Chinese and English translation of the letter and videos, Reddit thread, twitters, articles or anything related to Lin’s non-call flagrant fouls. Please see if you want to add those in an organized way. Thanks.

  • GoJLin!

Totally agreed; Clifford doesn’t have much talent on the offensive end, therefore even not followed the political order, he still misused JLIN a lot!

  • Alain Gervais

Every team its the same comment . Every year the same reaction.

  • sure, if you can provide the links and title/publication, I can add them.
    Thank you!

  • Pete B

Clifford is hard nosed stubborn coach but ill give him credit for developing this team from the ground up. He challenged each man to learn to play a different way on offense in different roles and win or lose they improved. The identity is still not my favorite maybe Im biased to what we saw in the 2nd qtr from Lin. But back to Clifford, he AND the HORNETS PLAYERS had a HECK OF A REGULAR SEASON . THEY SHOULD LOOK AT THEMSELVES WITH GREAT PRIDE UNDERSTANDING WHAT THEY DID IN THE NBA AS A TEAM. I THINK THEY ARE PLAYOFF READY MORE THAN CLEVELAND CAVS. BC THEY HAD A TOUGH ROAD AND FOUGHT FOR EVERYTHING FROM being benched, to injuries and losing MINUTES TO COMEBACKS , taking painful losses, AND PLAY TOUGH MINUTES AND DEFENSE.
ALSO AS FANS WE HAD A TOUGH YEAR BUT WE ALSO GOT BETTER IN EVERY WAY, WE’RE READY FOR NBA PLAYOFFS !! possibly 7 game series in the 1st round I’ll bet on Hornets

  • Win

Agreed. Clifford not the smartest coach in the NBA but he surely did a heck of a job by getting all the players buy in to his system. Time to shock the East Hornets!!! A great underdog story once again!

  • Charlotte Observer published an article on JLin’s flagrant fouls plus more Lin’s feedback on it
    https://twitter.com/mikepersinger/status/719966006030905345

  • GoJLin!

Yes, I agreed to be a franchise player, team certainly want you to be able to stay with them for few seasons. But If not for JLIN’s team first attitude, willingly sacrifice on his own stats to put up energy on defense, attract double and triple opponents to free KW, I don’t think KW will ended with this year’s performance.

  • LinMad

wow it made it to huffingtonpost.

  • heart

BTW, can you ask Joy Jeng to translate the NBA reply letter in Chinese so China and Tawain news can keep overseas fans updated on the current situation. Thanks.

  • lleepar

So Bonnell thinks Jeremy might be able to get $5M a year at a minimum. Aren’t the Hornets already paying Lamb $7M to mostly ride the bench? Anyone here think Bonnell heard that number from someone inside the Hornets, or did he come up with that value all by himself?
    https://twitter.com/theobserver/status/719733490179293184

  • dave lam

I say lose and take 6th spot. This will avoid Cavs in the 2nd round.
I looking at the bigger picture. Want to se Hornets Cavs in the conference final,

  • FrankW

That did not help Kemba. No mention of Hornets bench outplayed Celtics starters, 53 points to 45 points? That would have been more news worthy even without mentioning Jeremy Lin.

  • LinMad

i fee like all season Clifford has been old school too and not very analytical in his coaching. He would play favoritism for certain players but yes he has challenged Jeremy Lin to defend more but he hasn’t really rewarded Lin as much as other players on the offensive end. Maybe he gave up on the bigs defending and that’s why the bigs love to shoot more than getting rebounds/defending. I hope this off season they pick up some real bigs if they ever have a chance to keep Lin (which I highly doubt)

  • DX

    Who is Bonnell?

  • lleepar

The reporter who wrote the article linked in the tweet.

  • heart

Thank you Mike Persinger for bringing attention to this. After Huffington Post and now Charlotte Observers, we’re making progress. Still waiting for NBA website and other sporting news mainstream to acknowledge this. The ultimate goal is for Lin to get fair calls to protect him from injury!

  • heart

Already Rick Bonnell, and some ATH bloggers/Hornets tweeters that I had posted earlier in the month have placed a ceiling market price on Lin at $5M and as a backup which is lesser than what Lamb is getting? What a joke!

  • GoJLin!

JLIN performed much better then LAMB, why shall he even settle with LAMB’s contract (7M per year); If Lin get less then that would consider be insulting.

  • CJSHYY

He said Lee is $5M. I hope Lee gets out of Hornets too.

  • Pete B

Yes we must judge a coach and team ultimately by winning games. but as far as grinding and devloping and progress ive seen slot of work from players and coaching staff how far can they go ? we;; find out if what ive seen is enough to get past 1st round

  • Win

    He said minimum. Not maximum.

  • sws94

Most of the contract talk I’ve read on the Hornets forum isn’t about what each player is worth maximum or even fair price. It is what is Batum worth and if he’s max. And how do you fit guys beyond him inside the cap? FAs are Al, Lee, Lin and Marvin. The point is the cap and then saying what is the minimum you can get a guy for. Not their real worth. Most think Lin can’t be afforded because he’d have to accept something much lower than his worth. And who to keep, Batum and Marv. Batum and Lee. or if Lin, how?

  • JustSayNo2HardensIso

So happy that Jeremy made Isaiah Thomas eat his words last night. Don’t know if you all noticed but Isaiah was so upset that he left the court at the end of the game without saying bye to anyone. There is a short clip where Kemba was giving Avery Bradley a hug and if you read Kemba’s lips, you can see Kemba ask Avery: “Where is Isaiah”. Then you see Avery say something like, “I don’t know, he left.” haha
Would love to see them play each other in the playoffs!!

  • Win

IT is nothing a but a little crying *****. No character at all.

  • CJSHYY

Max is for Batum. Let’s see how far Batum can bring them next season. LOL!

  • Win

It is gonna be very hard for the Hornets this off season. If they group is doing great in the playoff, it is really hard for them to choose who to keep.

I have said it once, and I will say it again. Lin doesn’t need the money but in this league, the amount and length of the contract = respect.

  • Win

I honestly don’t care what Batum will get. Lin has took a pay cut once and he won’t do it twice as the amount and length of the contract = respect as I have mentioned below.

  • CJSHYY

Bonnell already said he hopes MW & Lin can stay but… I think both more likely out. (Lin for sure.) As for Lee, not sure… but he seemed to play well next to Kemba.

  • CJSHYY

    Don’t worry he will not.

  • Win

He did? When? Is there a video of it?

  • CJSHYY

In his tweets few weeks ago.

  • Win

    I see. Tks!

  • CJSHYY

Let them talk bc Lin will not stay… I really can’t wait for next season to see them like NYK.

  • Alain Gervais

5 mill is 2 mill in todays market. With next years jump in cap room.

  • Rick Johnson

They’re dreaming if they could keep him for $5 million. Though JLin probably doesn’t really care about the money, the amount is a sign of respect and $5 million is disrespectful. Hornets won’t be able to keep him and he will come back as starting PG on another team and teach them a lesson.

  • Win

As I have mentioned before. A bunch of immature kids. I am really not sure if I wanna see Lin with the 76ers. I actually prefer the Spurs instead.

  • kauaiblue

Ha! What a crybaby… he dishes it out but cant take it…

  • Win

Prediction. No matter who Celtics play against in the playoff, they will be out in the 1st round.

  • kauaiblue

It always is, isnt it? But he can do this in his sleep if given the oppt.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

the only two players on the team with character and plays defense. without these two, the hornets are going to be a lottery team next season lol

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

celtics are a good team. they will advance

  • CJSHYY

I think Batum & Kemba can get good stats but they probably will not make it to playoff next season.

  • Win

Haha. Let see. I really really doubt it. IT is nothing special, pretty much the same as Aaron Brook.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

IT is a much better kemba

  • Win

Strongly disagreed. Whether it is basketball skill wise or as a person. No way IT better than KW.

  • CJSHYY
  • Rick Johnson
  • Win

    Tks!!!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

IT is a similar type player as kemba but better in every way which is why he’s an all-star and kemba isn’t

  • Win

Are we allow to bet with each other? Let see if Celtics can make it our the 1st round?

  • adele

And why put that number? Smh!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i had a bet with that basketball_mountain troll guy over at the other site last year and he never paid up. he kept calling Lin fans crazy because we said byron would remove Lin from the starting lineup which was exactly what happened

  • CJSHYY

I don’t like IT but he’s good & I think they will play well in playoff.

  • Win

We can bet for donation. Whoever lose donate $20.00 to Jlinportal or JLin foundation.

    🙂

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup. i can’t stand IT and think kemba is a much better person. but you gotta admit, he’s a much better player. in fact, IT has always schooled kemba, even last night kemba can’t guard IT at all

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

it’s on! if celts vs heats, i’d bet celts straight up

  • Whitman Lam

3 year contract for J. Lamb was possibly the worst NBA contract signed this season. The Ty Lawson acquisition is 2nd place, but even Daryl Morey was smart enough to make his 2nd year a team option.

  • jimmyL

    Good team with good players
    they will advance

  • lol .. I like this kind of friendly bets but you guys just donate straight to JLin Foundation since kids who need it will benefit most.

Better take a screenshot of this bet now 😀

  • jimmyL

Nah all credit goes to Cho hes a good GM

  • Whitman Lam

Or use Al Jefferson or Cody to post up on Whiteside, while Lin cuts to the basket. Whiteside can’t block the layup if he’s being pinned to Al or Cody’s back.

  • $5M is definitely too low, especially compared to $7M/yr Lamb who didn’t contribute as much as you pointed out.

Bonnell and other journalists would know by now teams would be willing to pay more and offer starting role based on JLin’s performance to take over games in Spurs, Cavs, Raptors.
Why stay behind Kemba when knowing he can accomplish more?

That would be the logical question that most journalists should realize by now.

Hornets fans would only hope that JLin likes the team so much that he’s willing to stay.
Unless the Hornets give a starting role, I can’t see JLin considers the possibility of staying at all.
He has repeatedly said on record that all NBA players want to start.
With it comes bigger role, more minutes to perform better as he has experienced this season.

With Batum/Kemba/MKG as the core, I don’t see how they can offer JLin to start.

Finally receiving the same crap letter from NBA:

NBA Letters Today at 1:17 (Brisbane time)

    Dear Melody,

Thank you for your letter to Commissioner Silver.

When deemed appropriate, a postgame Flagrant Foul can be assessed (including for contact that was not called in the game), and applicable points, warnings,
    fines and/or suspensions are issued.

Wonder how MJ feels about this

  • JLin Fan from Australia

It’s confirmed that JLin is going to Asia in June. He will be ready to deal with FA this time. The only negative of this time is he can’t do more with bb training camp in Taiwan as the students are still on with finals are looming. Well, not much he can do as FA is more important this time than last year.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • CJSHYY

So he will have no camp this year in Taiwan?

  • I’m sure the poor intern is tired of doing copy-and-paste to reply to every single email and change the name 🙂

As long as JLin gets frequent 8-10+ FTs, I’ll be okay 🙂
That might be what the NBA is willing to concede some favorable calls

  • CJSHYY
  • CJSHYY
  • heart

If one of their own flesh and blood gets abused night in night out, I don’t think they would stay still. We should not be ok w/them turning a blind eye or dismissing our claim until they concede and must do what is right as a human being.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Don’t know. Normally JLin will do at least 2-3 days camp. Believed there was no camp in China as a result of this and Taiwan still got camp but it was cut to 1-2 days camp last night. Can’t remember.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Honestly I’m still not happy with Boston game. He received a couple ridiculous calls on him and then non-calls again in some tough fouls in second half. I would like to see fair treatment in all times that JLin played. I’m in my tiger fan mode:-)

  • HVJoy

Lin is always concerned about the welfare of the young and the community! Good for him!

  • gum

I was thinking about the Hornets game vs Boston while crossing over the Pacific Ocean. I was so happy to see that Jeremy had a stellar performance and also his team won. I was also surprised to see the regular NBA League pass worked over here in Seoul, Korea. So I will get to see the last game but not the playoff games, I am afraid. Go Jeremy Lin!

The internet service at my hotel is quite outstanding as it is throughout the country.

  • CJSHYY
  • I think the viral video will certainly force the refs to at least conduct review for hard fouls because otherwise they look pretty bad.

the frequent FT calls will work to deter opposing players from trying to get away with hard fouls.
Let’s hope it works to protect JLin’s health and also reduce star calls who can get away w/ flagrant fouls to all players w/o repercussion

  • orLinaryjoe

VERY NICE GUYS!!! PICKING UP STEAM!!!

    CHARLOTTE HORNETS

    APRIL 12, 2016 3:08 PM

Is Hornets guard Jeremy Lin slighted by NBA officials when it comes to foul calls?

    Read more here: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nba/charlotte-hornets/article71372907.html#storylink=cpy

Hornets guard Jeremy Lin visited South Charlotte Middle School on Tuesday after the students finished as some of the top performers in his foundation’s reading challenge.

He spoke to the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders about the virtues of education and how to prevent school bullying.

But in the eyes of some NBA observers and Lin fans, Lin himself has been getting picked on by the league and its officials.

A YouTube video posted last Tuesday that picked up steam over the weekend shows several instances of hard fouls absorbed by Lin on offense that either were not called or were simply called common fouls.

The video, uploaded by a user named JAD 7534 and viewed more than 830,000 times, juxtaposes the perceived non-calls against other, softer fouls that were called flagrant fouls.

It not only shows hard fouls from Lin’s one season with the Hornets but also a few non-calls from his two-year stint with the Rockets. Lin said he’s not sure whether this has always been the case for him or something that has happened more recently.

“I don’t really see what the other flagrants are,” Lin told the Observer. “That video puts it next to some other ones. I don’t know. I just know this is my experience, and I never thought, oh these fouls, I should be getting flagrant fouls.

“When you’re in the heat of the game, how it looks isn’t always how it feels. I’m going through everything and you take contact every play.”

    An aggressive player

Lin is an aggressive player, and he has continued that style of play while becoming more of a shooting guard with the Hornets than his previous point guard position.

He drives to the basket 6.7 times per game this season, which ranks 35th in the league. Among the 61 players who drive at least five times a game, Lin ranks 28th in free-throw attempts with 1.6 off drives per game. That statistic would suggest he’s almost average, with just as many players (who may get calls over him) above him as below.

[READ MORE: In need of a boost, Hornets get eye-popping performance from Jeremy Lin]

Lin saw the video over the weekend as it became viral. Several of his friends texted him a link to it, and he admits he was surprised to see just how hard some of the fouls were.

“It is what it is. I just want to keep playing hard,” Lin said. “It’s one of those things where I made a rule of myself halfway through the season that I’m not going to argue with refs. Whatever happens, happens. It helps me stay focused on basketball.

“Really in the last whatever many games, I really haven’t had any interaction with the refs. It’s helpful to me to stay focused. Aside from that, whatever happens with the video or whoever sees it or whatever changes happen, that’s beyond my control.

“I can’t really comment on … people who make decisions are going to see it or whatever. So at this point, just keep playing man.”

    Kobe’s victim

Two of the most egregious fouls compiled in the video got a laugh out of Lin. The first came in a December game against the Lakers as he drove past former teammate Kobe Bryant.

Lin drove into the lane and appeared to look to the corner for an open Nic Batum 3-point attempt. Instead, Lin was clotheslined in midair by Bryant, who was called for a common foul.

Bryant seemed bewildered he was called for a foul at all, whereas he could have been called for a flagrant 1, which is “unnecessary contact committed by a player against an opponent.”

“But that one,” Lin smiled, “I will say he did get ball first, too.”

In January, Lin was the recipient of another blow from one of the league’s stars. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony appeared to uppercut Lin in the face on a fast-break drive.

Anthony wasn’t called for a foul at all. Arron Afflalo was charged with a common foul after making contact with Lin.

“Honestly the Melo foul, I thought Afflalo fouled me,” Lin said. “It wasn’t until I watched it that I said, oh, Melo fouled me. I didn’t even know where the foul came from. I’m not too shocked by it. You just go with it.”

    A racial component?

So no harm, no foul? Well, not exactly.

Some on the Internet have charged that officials are not making these calls in Lin’s favor because he’s Asian. Lin has not publicly addressed that claim, though in fairness, I, regretfully, didn’t ask.

There’s no doubt the NBA – probably the most culturally diverse sports league in America – is aware of this by now. He’s one of the most popular players in an Asian demographic the league has worked for years to capture.

Michael Bass, the NBA’s executive director of communications, said in a statement that all of the fouls in the video were eventually reviewed and that none was deemed a flagrant foul given the full circumstances, angles and comparables from past games.

“Referees do make mistakes, which means they miss calls that should have been made,” Bass said in the statement. “When that occurs, we collect the data and provide referees with feedback to ensure improvement.”

And maybe word has spread from the league office to officials. Before Charlotte’s 114-100 victory Monday night over the Boston Celtics, Lin had attempted at least 10 free throws in just 16 of his 367 career games. Only twice this season had Lin gotten at least 10 free throw attempts.

Monday, he went 10-for-10 from the line and scored a game-high 25 points.

“Maybe they did,” Lin laughed when asked if the league saw the video. “You never know. Some of these things, you never know how it happens.”

I think the NBA needs a stricter system for their referees to ensure they are not placing side bets or working with underworld organizations. Maybe every year, NBA needs to have a score for each of their referees that show how bad or good their officiating is. The score would come from missed/non-calls and calls that shouldn’t have been called. Then they take the bottom 3 refs and either fire them or put them back into training. Or they can hire FBI to see if they are placing side bets or working with any underworld organizations.

waiting for ESPN…they did an article last time when Lin got smacked and nosebleed after scoring on 5 Clippers. I remember they tweeted it and there was so many comments of discrimination/racism by the refs. I don’t know if they will write something about this though. They simply pointed out that Lin was tough last time for being able to score on 5 Clippers and get smacked with no call.

  • LinMad

What’s the Jordan rule? I keep hearing it. I guess the whole league was trying to stop MJ? It seems like Lin is getting same treatment.

Not quite. i think MLB is more culturally diversed. MLB has more Asians. NBA has very few, only one full Asian and a few half Asians.

  • heart

Please also Post these in the sticky page designated for non-foul calls for evidence of the issue.

  • grover chang

I don’t know why people just don’t take him to the post. Either score on him or get him in foul trouble.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

When they said fouls were reviewed. Wonder: Did they only review the fouls that were called but not the non calls one?

  • orLinaryjoe

Done. You guys are way organized.

  • orLinaryjoe

They would be missing out otherwise.

  • HVJoy

Thank you for sharing. The writer appears to be fair and objective.

Interestingly, he “regretfully” did not ask Lin about the suspicion of racism resulting in the no calls, as viewed by many fans.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Would like to get the momentum going. Anyone here can write a response letter to NBA?

  • heart

    Thanks Joe. Appreciate it.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Wondering: Is there anyone here can write a response letter to NBA? We plan to do another vid + response letter. Please leave a message here if you can begin a draft. I can add you in the working team on this task force. Thanks in advance!

good idea! i’ve screenshot this so whoever loses will have to donate $20 to JLin Foundation. i will donate regardless of the outcome at that time. as it stands, it’s gonna be celts vs heats. the only way this gets called off is if celts vs hornets in the first round but that’s unlikely!

  • LinMad

Wow, the word made it to the director of communications of the NBA Michael Bass. It sounds like he brushed it off like it was no big deal and our concerns are not legitimate. But still, I think last game Lin had fair calls but also missed a few calls (flagrant for tripping Lin at the end of game) or had calls that were wrong like the bumping of heads offensive foul call. Or the no charging call when Lin was bumped by Celtics and fell to the ground. The bigger issue is that NBA players think they can get away with it because refs allowed it. It’s like when you have 10 bullies at a school yard picking on a kid and the teacher just sits back and watch it happen.

I know it’s not always going to be perfect but last game was a big improvement compared to what he had to deal with earlier all season long. It felt like every game Lin was getting smacked on the head with no calls or common fouls only.

Also I don’t think the officials got the message to be fair to Jeremy Lin yet. It will take time. They will get the message once China/Taiwan start noticing it. It will hurt their pockets. The video that was translated in Chinese is becoming viral too and there are a lot of unhappy people from the East. Already 500,000+ views. What were they even thinking to allow the NBA refs to do this to their only Asian American player? Don’t they know millions if not billions of dollars they get each year come from Asia?

    ————————–
Michael Bass, the NBA’s executive director of communications, said in a statement that all of the fouls in the video were eventually reviewed and that none was deemed a flagrant foul given the full circumstances, angles and comparables from past games.

    Occasionally.

  • jimmyL

They might start giving him proper calls
but they will never admit it
if they do, more players are gonna start complaining and they simply can’t allow that to happen

  • LinMad

Players already flop and complain to refs. And it’s really hard to take notice unless you have as much support as Lin does from his fan base. Also from what read on reddit, it looks like most agreed with us who aren’t even Lin fans or Hornets fans.

Lin rarely flops or complain to refs. He just picks himself up and smile. And it’s funny how the floppers complain when their fouls are ticky tack fouls. Lin gets hit hard and he keeps going. That bloody nose one was ridiculous though. I think 2 games after, he was hit the face again pretty hard.

  • HVJoy

Exactly. Some normal human empathy is expected! I avoided watching the video for a long while because I couldn’t bear seeing the many hard fouls imposed on Lin. I could almost feel the pain.

  • LinMad

would be awesome if we can create a longer video that shows all the times he gets hit in the face that weren’t flagrant calls. I think there are at least 20+

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • heart

They are confusing the issue to those who have not watched the games when these flagrant hits occurred. They are speaking out both sides of their mouth.
    1. The Kobe, Melo, Harden hits were NOT reviewed so they could not assessed for flagrant 1 or 2.
    2. Bc in the actual games where these flagrant hits occurred, the officiating refs have already made the decision to NOT have these hits reviewed. Therefore, these fouls were not recorded. They are non-existent in the record book. These offenders were not penalized or have already penalized w/ common fouls. So there’s no evidence in the records for them to review further penalty, even though the video proofs tell a different story.
    3. When they said they reviewed the fouls, it means they could only review the regular fouls recorded in the books, and those were already assessed in the game as common fouls or non-foul calls.

  • HVJoy

The NBA “The Starters” show (7 p.m. ET) just talked about Lin’s ever-changing hairstyle this season.

The hosts said Lin is taking requests for his next hairstyle in games. They showed photos of Lin with different hairstyles.
