G80 DAL @LAL Game Thread+Best Coach/Team Poll

It’s great to see Jeremy had such fun with his fans at the WSS Fan Meet. It’s proof of how popular Jeremy Lin is in LA despite many criticism in the media. And it might be the last time Jeremy fans in LA get to meet him if he most likely will move on to a different team next season.

3 games left. Lin won’t play this game but hopefully he will play 1 or 2 games against the Sacramento Kings and George Karl because they can be his potential destination. And Lin simply loves to play ball.

Keep Linning, Jeremy!  😎

Which COACH do you think Jeremy Lin should play for next season? (choose up to 2 answers/day)

  • blubell

    Go Jeremy!

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

I thought the season is already over? lol at least it is, to me.

  • Dorothy

I was reading some articles about Rondo and noticed from the comments that most Mav fans want to get rid of Ellis and keep Rondo. Did you guys also notice that?

  • CJSHYY

Really? So Cuban still love Rondo?! Well, I don’t know but saw few games from Mav. Rondo really not fit w Mav…

  • CJSHYY

I think so too. Lin should not play bc it’s no need to do so.

  • Rick

ESPN Baxter Holmes wrote a nice piece about Rondo: “Good at Math, Bad at People”
My impression: Rondo is very smart, hardworking, but sometimes he outsmarts himself

  • Dorothy

I am not sure about Cuban, but almost all the fans who commented said get rid of Ellis and find some bigs, 3 pointers for Rondo.

  • CJSHYY

Wow! I thought they don’t like Rondo… Anyway, what fans said that can’t really show FO’s wish…. But I know Ellis wants out so…

I believe if Lin not stays w Lakers then Rondo will come to Lakers.

  • Brent Yen

So Ellis can go to Lakers too I guess? There is a possibility there

  • Brent Yen
  • Tina

I suppose he might be done for the season then?

  • 1mtoldman

did you guys know that rondo has a sore knee too? didn’t play last game. “played thru” it the previous two. also cp. (has a bad knee too) whats he called? cp something. or just handsomest man in the nba according to japan fans.

wonder what “our bluebell” would have to say about that? smh.

  • Brent Yen

    I hope so…..but…hard to say

    It’s the graduation outfit.

  • JoeTeam

ha ha, now i get it – JLin just wanted a free MRI for free agency (jk).

  • orLinaryjoe

The graduating class in suits and ties, love it.

  • 1mtoldman

hopefully for their sakes graduating from the lakers. tho i think r. price will probably be held back.

thats what i was thinking. too.

KNICKS, MAGIC MAKE HISTORY — IN A BAD WAY

The two teams combined for 15 points in the second quarter. There have been 209,888 quarters played in the shot-clock era, which dates back to the 1954-55 season, and this was the lowest-scoring quarter among them.

    –espn

  • orLinaryjoe

Had to fix this for Medina:

Jeremy Lin still will go through pregame warmups. No hope to play for the Lakers, ever again. Return does not likely.

  • orLinaryjoe

You always have a few wanting to graduate and sneaking into the ceremony.

  • 1mtoldman

    Basically, the 2 seed is…

    …Mem if they win out

…Mem w/ 1 loss, tied with SA, LA or Hou

…SA if 3-way tie between them, Mem and Hou

Why don’t the Lakers just announce Lin is out for the rest of the season? Smh

So quiet here when Lin is not playing.

  • 1mtoldman

at halftime russell westbrook is just 1 fga per half behind being on pace to equal the top 7 games in the last 30 years in terms of fga’s by one player. (44 or more)

obtw kobe has 5 of the 7 games. (of 44 fga’s per game or more)

an appropriate way to put it: “per byron scott”.

  • Keith

That’s it. I am going to start unfollowing all the lakers on twitter .

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Not surprised. This is what I predict, DNP-CD. So-called knee soreness is just an excuse from BS. He uses this to avoid wrath from JLin fans. JLin and his team are the ones that requested MRI to say otherwise, to let people know nothing “wrong” with him.

  • CJSHYY

I think it’s good for Lin bc these games mean nothing & why needs to fight for the lousy team & coach? Glad finally done.

  • blubell

I hope he does another event, maybe with Adidas, before he leaves LAL.

  • Keith

yeah. i hope it is going to be on weekends and take more time to talk to fans.

  • Brent Yen

I believe @psalm234:disqus will come up with something! LOL let’s have a small one 1st. And a big one after his next team is determined.

  • ViNuyork

oh-kinda heart breaking…so this is how it will end for JLin with the Lakers?..it happened d same way with the Knicks but at least he had LINSANITY there…well, we had somehow Linsanity prime after AS break…..hope to see him with a team and a COACH that would believe in his skill just like we do…God speed Jlin…’til next season, friends 🙂

  • Dorothy

    Agreed.

  • Brent Yen

My heart is pretty intact……not broken…

  • Filler-up

What’s the point? I will miss watching Lin play.

  • Yascar

Ok I know he’s not running or anything but he really really doesn’t look injured. I bet if this team were playoff bound and they needed him, they’d brace the knee and get him to play. I love that he keeps coming out to practice where the media can see him and record him.

  • ViNuyork

    I had hi-hopes when d rockets traded him…I thought Linsanity 2 would happen w/ d lakers 🙂

  • Filler-up

Signing those autographs for his LA fans at WSS was probably his farewell, and he knew it too.

  • Yascar

Truth be told, I think we all had those hopes.

  • webattorney

Yeap, but we knew early in the season that THAT DREAM was dashed, so no big surprise here.

  • Yascar

    Agreed.

  • Filler-up

Now the hope is for free agency to play in Lin’s favour for a change. He can pick where he wants to go to provided that team wants him.

  • webattorney

This is why you should not buy Lin’s jersey until you see him stay longer than 1 year. Lol

  • Brent Yen

    Yes sir!

  • webattorney

To Lakers FO: I was never a fan of Lakers after the Showtime, but from now on, I am never spending another dime on Lakers by attending Staples. Am only going to see Clippers game IF I decide to see Lin play.

  • MoominFloren

As long as either Kobe or BS is still around, I don’t think Lin will resign

  • webattorney

No heartache but I developed a toothache that I have to take care of due to my frequent over-clenching of my teeth watching Lakers play. Lol

  • Brent Yen

Just extract them all, then eat puree for the rest of your life…:P

  • webattorney

Not very enjoyable life. All the money I saved up not watching Lakers games will go towards fixing the tooth.

  • orLinaryjoe

    I’ll be salivating. 2fer.

  • Dorothy

I feel so good that Lin is done for Lakers and no need to play 1 minute for them. For some reasons I feel so relived not having to worry for the ill treatment from BS, FO to LIn any more.

  • John Lee

I am torn. On one hand, I don’t really want to ever see the faces of Kobe and BS, as they are utmost disgusting. On the other hand, I want to see Jeremy come back with his new team and completely and utterly mop the floor with KoBS. Life is full of tough choices!

  • John Lee

The only positive during Lin’s stint as a Laker is that he found a hidden gem in Ed Davis. I hope the two land on the same new team and shine bright.

  • TTNN

Really hard to believe that Byron does not hold an agenda against Lin…..

  • Maknusia

Oh NOOOOOO…its not over yet?!!!! 🙁

  • Brent Yen

    He is talking about JC.

  • John Lee

Quick poll. Who do you think is Jeremy’s best partner? (And why?)

    1) Landry Fields
    2) Steve Novak
    3) Tyson Chandler
    4) Chandler Parsons
    5) Ed Davis

  • Brent Yen

    Mike D’Antoni

  • bolero

    Pass it to Kobe PG.

  • John Lee

Ditto, but you knew I was talking about players. 🙂

  • Maknusia

lol…MRI is not overly expensive, around 1k 🙂

  • Rick

    TC

  • CJSHYY

Well, two days ago or so… Mike B from LA times said if Rondo, Dragic, or Lakers get another draft PG then JC will play SG. JC just a tool for Kobe & BS to beat or push Lin out of Lakers. I don’t think FO really wants him. I still think he is just a trade asset.

  • Brent Yen

Can we do all of the above?

  • orLinaryjoe

Yeah, like bluebell says, keep the jersey, just never wear THAT one.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Hope for Linsanity 2 died with starter-gate. Just so glad the season is officially over. Is unfollowed all Lakers media now:-)

  • Brent Yen

Of course he is. It is very unlikely JC will be chosen over a star.

  • Maknusia

true that…I would rather have Lin rested…instead of going thru the irrational rotation pain from BScott

  • Maknusia

    Looking for prospects? 🙂

  • CJSHYY

Of course. But the interesting part is Lakers wants to get another draft for PG….I think Lakers can have 3 draft this year?!

  • John Lee

Well, wouldn’t THAT be something? LOL

3 and 4 are already with Mavs, so if Cuban gets L-Ed to Dallas we come real close. Fields and Novak on the cheap nowadays, just saying.

  • John Lee

JC’ll end up being the Bev of the Lakers.

  • HY C

I think it will never be CP25, he iced JLin out all the time last season, remember?

  • CJSHYY

I guess BS will try his beat to help Rondo to showcase for Lakers FO tonight… LOL!

  • Brent Yen

I do not think Laker will get their future PG from draft….

  • webattorney

Worse D but a better scorer than PBev.

  • CJSHYY

No, just to replace JC. Bc I don’t think they really consider him as PG. JC is indeed more SG than PG. Mitch knew it.

  • John Lee

I hate Rondo, but not as much as I do the Lakers. Hope Tyson and pretty boy avenge Jeremy’s MRI-gate.

  • Maknusia

    Dont be a charmin now…ask Kobe!…lol kiddin 🙂

Better to take care of it as early as possible

  • Brent Yen

JC is just a placeholder, he will eventually become a SG.

  • CJSHYY

I want Mav win this game. CP is out tonight.

  • John Lee

Cleaning up Twitter as we speak.

  • Maknusia

whats happening with CP?…he has been out couple of games…

  • CJSHYY

I think he will be traded. Kelly too.

  • John Lee

I hold grudges, of course I remember. 🙂

IMHO Chandler Parsons’ bball IQ is far below Ed’s. Also, part of Chandler’s behavior can be attributed to McHale and Rox culture, I expect him to be different towards Lin under Carlisle.

  • Brent Yen

Maybe not immediately, because it also depends who will come too.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t know my friend told me so….

  • Maknusia

But still, i think they good friends

  • John Lee

Who’ll want Kelly? I think he may be out of the NBA soon.

  • 1mtoldman

pretty boys out with an actual knee injury. been for several games.

  • 1mtoldman

no one would take kelly; they’ll just waive him and eat his chump change salary.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I just finished:-) WOW about 10 are gone. I cleaned up more in the beginning of the season. Didn’t know that I still left about 10 and so on the account:-( Now they are all gone. Don’t have one person from R and L except JLin fans:-)

  • 1mtoldman

    yep.

  • Maknusia

What happens…if Lin comes back to LAL again?…just asking 🙂

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Don’t need to burn them:-) JLin is JLin. He is done with Lakers unless KB and BS are gone.

  • 1mtoldman

    actual knee injury.

  • John Lee

Then it’ll depend on how he’s treated, superstar or doormat (again).

  • Maknusia

    hahaha “actual”

  • 1mtoldman

Chandler Parsons remains sidelined with swelling and soreness in his right knee, but the Mavericks are hopeful that he will return during the regular season.—rotoworld

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL The chance with KB and BS are still with Lakers??? -100%:-)

  • Maknusia

Jeremy Lin out for season; Lakers expect to re-sign Dwight Buycks

Jeremy Lin’s season with the Lakers is over, according to Coach Byron Scott.

“I was optimistic this morning, seeing him shoot,” said Scott, who left the door open for Lin’s return after shoot-around Sunday. “I got the news that he’s not going to play tonight, and he’s not going to play for the rest of the season.”

Lin is suffering from a sore left knee. A recent MRI examination showed a cartilage abnormality that isn’t considered serious.

The Lakers’ season ends Wednesday. They have three games left, counting Sunday night’s game against Dallas at Staples Center.

Scott spoke highly of Lin’s improvement throughout the year.

“I think he’s obviously gotten better. When he first got here, his mind of what a point guard is was totally different than mine,” said Scott. “As we went along, he started to understand what I wanted on a day-to-day basis.

“The one thing about him, the kid takes criticism. You can jump on him about things. He takes them with a grain of salt and tries to get better. That’s the one thing I do love about him. He doesn’t pout about it, doesn’t cry. He just goes out there and tries to implement the things that you give him, and tries to be a better basketball player.”

Lin averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists in 74 games this season, shooting 42.4% from the field and 36.9% from three-point range.

After Dwight Buyck’s 10-day contract expires following Sunday’s game, the Lakers will have just two available guards for their game at Sacramento on Monday night. They play the Kings again in the season-ender Wednesday at Staples.

“Obviously with the news with Jeremy, I think there’s no doubt we’ll probably keep” Buycks, Scott said. “So we’ll at least have three guards to play these last [couple of] games with.”

Buycks will have earned $48,028 over his contract with the Lakers. He would cost an additional $14,408 for the final three days of the regular season.

“He’s got good poise. He handles the ball pretty well, can run the offense, can make outside shots,” Scott said. “I just want to see a little bit more.”

Through five games, Buycks is averaging 8.4 points and 2.4 assists, shooting 48.3% from the field and a stellar 77.8% from three-point range.

Buycks was signed by the Lakers via a hardship exception, granted by the NBA because of the high volume of players the team has lost for the season (Kobe Bryant, Julius Randle, Wayne Ellington, Ronnie Price and Nick Young).

If the Lakers prefer to sign Buycks to a contract taking him beyond the rest of the year, through the 2015-16 season (likely on a non-guaranteed contract like teammate Jabari Brown), the team would need to first waive one player to bring the roster back down to the standard maximum of 15.

Eric “Lin Shover” Bledsoe’s Suns are eliminated from playoffs. In other news, NOP lost to HOU by 7 after leading at the half, Pelicans shot 22 FTAs vs Rox’s 48! Go figure. Fortunately, OKC also fell to Pacers.

  • Yascar

I knows it’s just cheap talk and still hate BS with a passion but I’m glad he’s put this out there about Jeremy. It will no doubt help him in FA that a coach who clearly hates him still thinks so highly of his attitude and work ethic. That’s our boy.

  • John Lee

Yeah, I think Lin’s true good friends are, in no particular order:

Landry Fields, Steve Novak, Jared Jeffries, Stephen Curry, David Lee, Ed Davis. Maybe Mo Williams.

  • 1mtoldman

westbrook fell one fga short of matching the top 7 fga’s in a game by one player in the last 30 years; (kobe has 5 of the 7).

  • Rookie75094

This is the one game I want to see fool gold rondo blows up with best game of his career. .. so kobe and the tankers will offer him the max… hehe

  • joyce ward

I also saw that the the Kings have sat Cousins for the rest of the season because injuries. This what you do when you have your best players sit out when your team is not in playoff contention. I believe Lin sitting out for the rest of the season was Lin’s team to get him ready for the FA.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Ah well, I see nothing wrong for looking out for pictures or videos of Jeremy Lin in a suit for the rest of the season while I shift to “it’s the playoffs” mentality.

  • CJSHYY

Me too. I hope Rondo do well today & Mav win this game. LOL!

  • CJSHYY

I think so too. These games are nothing now…Can’t wait for exit interview to come.

  • Rookie75094

Come on mavs…put rondo back in to blow out the tankers

  • joyce ward

    Is Rondo playing today?

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He got 6 points for only played 6 min. JC plays 10 min w 4 points 2-7

  • John Lee

Good block by Ellis on JC!

  • Maknusia

Game started?!!!! lol…i will pass this one 🙂

  • Maknusia

I will be just checking the box-score

  • Rookie75094

  • Maknusia

WJ seems to be shooting well (from box score)

  • Rookie75094

You can root for rondo to do superwell this game for his next team… hehe

  • Rick Johnson

Ya, he took some nasty hits in that Clippers game. Was on the floor pretty long after getting clobbered by Griffin.

  • CJSHYY

What happened? Why Rondo is not coming back yet? Carlisle didn’t want him to showcase for Lakers? LOL!

  • IsabeliJane*17

    1. 3rd first-round exit by the Rox – I will DEFINITELY watch his.

Nothing against Warriors, in fact I like Curry and Lee for being Lin’s friends, and Klay’s cool. I just don’t like Kerr being the lucky opportunist.

  • 1mtoldman

    not only has the dallas team been much worse since rondo came; rondo himself has espeically since the all star game fallen off the charts; way out of the top 100 players in the nba;

before rondo came the mavs were using a 3 headed point guard and they continued that when rondo came, hes has never been the man. its always been about equal minutes and performance from barea, harris and rondo.

now with harris out even fatty felton is getting the time that harris got. (it was felton who won the last giant scoring game in o.t.)

  • 1mtoldman

even on the bench in a suit kobe wants the ball.

  • 1mtoldman

what happened to johnson? he was the only player playing well in the 1st half for lakers.

  • CJSHYY

So weird. Why they don’t let Hill & Boozer play anymore?!

  • 1mtoldman

now that lin is out for the season i dont want hill and boozer to play anymore.
if they all three sit out the rest of the season (2 games after 2nite) then lin will lead the lakers in points steals and assists for the season; tho only starting 30 games. (total points, total steals, total assists), and davis lead in blocks and steals (while starting even less).

  • joyce ward

I bet lin is just shaking his head at all of the crap that is going on in this lakers organization. I am pretty sure D12 gave lin the 411 on Kobe and lin was ready for it. I think lin tried to give Kobe the benefit of the doubt, and as things got murkier, lin just threw up his hands. I think Lin truly terrified Kobe coming in and stealing his thunder. Kobe/F/O knew that the Asian fans would embrace lin as one of their own. Kobe trying to remain relevant in a league that doesn’t care about him, tried to show himself that he could still compete at the expense of lin.If you notice that Kobe has not come out and said anything negative about lin because he is trying to keep his fanbae there, but he has let Scott do all of the talking for him. China fans need to wake and smell the coffee that kobe could care less about that fanbase only to use them

  • John Lee

Touching base with former AND future teammate?

  • Keith

Remember some of us were saying that Parsons was being nice to Lin for fame? 🙂 http://animediet.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/633838673083134865-FACEPALM.jpg

  • joyce ward

Lin is the one that lead defense on this team. When Lin started playing defense, the team followed. Lin would have to tell everybody where to stand.

  • FrankW

Clarkson have more shots than Davis have minutes.

  • webattorney

Since Chinese fans care more for Kobe (from what I heard), their reactions to this situation seem logical.

  • John Lee

Kobe does not care about anyone. All he cares about is HIS money and HIS spotlight, nothing else.

  • webattorney

JC seems to be playing pretty ok. It’s just that he’s not a PG.

  • Keith

Some of his money/spotlight are from China .

You will play pretty ok, if the table was set before you….smh

  • John Lee

And he accelerated its decline with his backstabbing of Lin this season.

  • webattorney

At least, he’s an NBA player. Not everyone can play pretty ok even if the table is set for you. smh

  • joyce ward

Whatever, they need to wake up and realize that the Kobe and NBA will use them as need be. So all of this Kobe worshiping really makes them look pretty stupid.

  • joyce ward

You are preaching to the choir. When it becomes a level playing for lin, then we can Talk.

  • webattorney

Chinese fans are the way they are. Their “love” for Kobe is not changed that much by Lin. Unless Lin starts playing at an All Star level, the Chinese fans will unfortunately like Kobe more UNLESS Kobe makes a big marketing mistake by saying something bad about Chinese fans.

  • webattorney

You are arguing at a different plane. All I am saying is JC is a decent SG even if the table has been set for him. He may not be a star even as a SG but he’s an NBA player. I said nothing regarding Lin. I also think Lin is definitely a NBA player as a PG and as a combo player.

  • joyce ward

Then they can keep on being stupid, and hoodwinked, bamboozled and led astray,in which they will never get any respect until they learn the game.

  • webattorney

I agree with your perspective, but just wanted to note that they will not change UNLESS Kobe makes a big marketing mistake. It’s disappointing as a fellow Asian but it seems that way to me.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

The fact that the Mavs has allowed the Lakers to score so much point already is a problem…They’re a bad defensive team.

  • joyce ward

Noted, but I still will not give props to anyone that is spoon fed in this NBA. That is why I say Harden, an Westbrook are the examples of what is wrong in this NBA. I wander how they would fend if they had to go through the struggles lin had to face. You really have a mute point until lin is give the freedom or their is a level playing field for him. You are comparing apple and oranges.

  • John Lee

The drift I get from the Chinese forums is that the tide is slowing changing. It changed rather quickly with Harden when Lin got shafted by the Rox. Lin is more influential in China than one would think.

  • John Lee

The Chinese are not stupid, though some casual fans may appear to be, but many in the forums give great in-depth analyses. They KNOW Kobe’s behind the BS.

  • MoominFloren

True. There are many die-hard Kobe fans in China….his work ethics is great
…..Kobe can do no wrong… it’s never be Kobe’s problem to forcing players to leave, his teammates are leaving because they are (Gasol, DH12, Lin) soft….. blablabla

  • webattorney

I don’t read Chinese forums, but after all Kobe has 5 rings. That’s very different from Harden. Kobe has a big influence in China. 5 rings go a long way. I see it as a very different situation. Granted, a minority Chinese fans might feel differently about Kobe now, but fans are fans.

  • Briiick

Lack of motivation to beat a dying dog.

  • John Lee

Yeah, if you put it that way. He’s definitely no Kelly.

  • webattorney

I agree, but that reflects a minority POV IMO. I have no way of proving it though. Neither do you. Just giving you my perspective.

  • joyce ward

Dude this is the 21st Century and the new NBA. The Kobe 5 rings have played out, because this is a new fanbase and they are all about, what have you done lately. That will be the downfall of the Lakers, dwelling in the past about their 5 rings.

  • webattorney

I wasn’t comparing the two. Just noting JC is not a bad SG. He’s a rookie also. Never compared the two.

  • John Lee

JC definitely belongs in the NBA, and I haven’t seen anyone (not even one) state otherwise, so there’s the consensus. That said, being showcased does exaggerate one’s capabilities.

  • John Lee

JC could potentially be developed into a much better SG under a different coach. All this coddling and no accountability early in his career would set him back and lower his ceiling.

  • webattorney

Agreed. That’s all I said. It seems that whenever someone says that JC is a NBA player as a SG, it appears as I am giving props to the guy. Basically, he doesn’t “su*k” like Jabari and is better than Jabari to my eyes. Jabari doesn’t seem like he belongs in NBA.

  • MoominFloren

But Kobe >>>>>> Harden in China, it’s hard for Lin to have a bigger than Kobe in China at this moment. Besides, there are so many Lin haters just because he’s taking US passport…

  • webattorney

Agree absolutely. Again, I do not see Jabari as an NBA player., but JC seems to belong in NBA.

  • John Lee

Jabari’s a better PG material than JC, they are different type of players. Neither one really su*ks, unlike Kelly and Sacre.

  • joyce ward

That rookie card will play for so long especially when you have Wiggins, Noel, and Embrid playing all around games in this league and playing teamball. Clarkson can score and that is it. Clarkson was all about anybody but lin. Lakers are all about Randle next season, i put money on that.

  • webattorney

I am not sure about the first point (they seem both bad PGs to me), but I agree with other points.

  • akgul

Well as much i love Jeremy Lin he is not on Wesbrooks level of playing yet maybe he will maybe he wont…westbrook is just beast as a nba player…Harden is the same put all the personal stuff aside harden is a star Nba player of course the star will get more freedom…Lin is not a star yet im sorry thats just the truth but he can be he is still young and in the right system he can blossom, keyword being system…

  • webattorney

Yeap, they are better than JC, I agree. I am sure he will face a greater coverage next year and will play badly if he’s been put in the same position as Lin.

  • akgul

I agree JC is a nba player and he would fit much better at the SG…if Rondo it’ll prob happen

  • joyce ward

I never said anything about Lin being a star , I am talking about if lin was given more opportunities to succeed…smh

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Taiwan sports channel said they will stop broadcast Lakers game when know Lin is out for the season.

    “纬来体育台紧急宣布停播湖人赛事”

  • webattorney

Yes, I agree, you didn’t say anything regarding Lin being a star.

  • Keith

    YES

  • John Lee

Without Shaq and Gasol, Kobe might’ve gotten one ring, two tops. If he hasn’t chased talent out of the building, he might’ve very easily gotten seven or eight. Stupid is as stupid does.

  • joyce ward

Dude get your life. Lin had the #7 jersey selling in China way above , harden and Lilliard….smh

  • John Lee

Yeah, those in the KNOW will ALWAYS be outnumbered by the IGNORANT, which is what makes the former precious. Law of the pyramid.

  • Grace Nsns

they’re still doing today’s game though.

  • webattorney

Would like to point out that if I were to take some Lakers players to build another good team, the only players I would take are: Lin, Ed Davis, maybe JC as a SG back-up and maybe Tarik. Others, I am not going to touch.

  • Keith

@akgul . Do you think Lin could be star if he is a non Asian and did not have to go through like he did past 3 seasons ? Base on how he did in Harvard and New York, I think he could be a star .

  • John Lee

    China should follow suit quick.

  • akgul

was just using an example of star players getting more freedom not saying you said that Lin was

  • webattorney

I agre. That would send a message to NBA. If Chinese fans make some noise regarding Lin’s situation and take some action, I bet you that NBA will change their ways for Lin quickly.

  • joyce ward

    But you din’t have a point…smh

  • Winner
  • sws94

I don’t want JC. Davis and Tarik Black are the two I like. I sometimes like Ellington but sometimes thinks he shoots too much. When Wes is driving to the basket I like him but his game is to spotty.

  • akgul

I believe he is an inspiration to people who think that they would never have an chance at being succesful in a sport based on your race. Look Lin is a good player with the potential to be a great player.. hopefully in the right system next season he will blossom…him coming to Lakers and playing with kobe was a curse from the start….im looking at Lin as an Nba player here not as an asian ball player….and as an Nba player he has got talent…anyone who says otherwise is just hating.

  • webattorney

I will let akgul answer that, but Lin is definitely a “star” based on many factors, but based on his stats, he’s not a top 15 PGs. Case in point: How many NBA player will motivate 300 fans to wait longer than 3 hours to get an autograph from him? That’s some influence. So I guess it really depends on how a “star” is defined. Without what he went through, he maybe could have been a star in BB stats. Not sure because I haven’t seen Lin do that for an entire season, but I feel he’s capable of achieving 17/7 stats for the ENTIRE season in 35 minutes.

  • webattorney

Same here. I am also viewing Lin as any NBA player. IMO, Lin is better than many NBA PGs.

  • akgul

As a person an inspiration Lin is a bright a star as it will ever be im not talking about that im talking about the Nba

  • webattorney

Yes, I said at the end the following. I tried to cover both sides.

“Without what he went through, he maybe could have been a star in BB stats. Not sure because I haven’t seen Lin do that for an entire season, but I feel he’s capable of achieving 17/7 stats for the ENTIRE season in 35 minutes (per game).”

Well, I think Rondo is a star based on his past reputation, but not based on his current production.

  • MoominFloren

I thought we are talking about Kobe & Lin.
No one is saying Harden or Lilliard bigger than Lin in China

  • joyce ward

Such freaking baloney. Give Lin the same playing ground as other NBA players then you can talk…smh

  • akgul

Yeah true where he goes next season is crucial for his future…funny thing is i see so much of Nash in Jeremy lin and its just waiting to get out just needs the right system honestly.

  • webattorney

I am on the fence on Ellington.

  • webattorney

I am still not sure if Lin has that 2% or he doesn’t. But he’s close. When I look at Curry’s handle several years ago and look at his handle now, Curry’s handle has improved amazingly. So what I am saying is Lin can improve as a BB player, but others are also improving.

I was sort of inspired by a documentary on Curry which showed how he had to prove over and over again that he belongs at a center stage. The way Curry shoots is just BEAUTIFUL, as much as how Lin is BEAUTIFUL as a person and character. Lol

  • Rookie75094

rondo elite numbers 11 pts ,4/11fgm/a 2/2 ftm/a, 11 ast, 3 tov,+1……….. tankers should have the max contract for rondo to sign on the bus… haha

  • joyce ward

Smh…You guys are basing this on of lin gets a fair shake in the NBA system, which I have not seen, which makes your arguments null and void. We have all seen what lin can do if given free reigns like other players, but you continue to post these senseless arguments which have no merit. Can lin improve his game, yes, he can, but so ca a lot of the other NBA players in this league.

  • akgul

Thing with Lin is which i think is the thing with Lin that he does not get as much credit for is his heart…he wants to get better..Talking from past experiences i have known people who have had all the talent in the world but not half the work ethic to match it…Lin has both and with that his future looks bright

  • joyce ward

    What is the score?

  • Alain Gervais

lins not a laker any more since his season is over for all intent and purposes so idc what they do.

  • webattorney

I agree, but I am still not sure whether other NBA player work harder or less. I agree with all other stuff. Just don’t know about this issue.

  • Alain Gervais

    120-106 mavs won

  • Keith

yes, I am talking about NBA. I think If Mchale /Rockets trusted Lin and treated Lin like they did to Harden, I am pretty sure Lin could have Harden’s stats.

  • joyce ward

That right there sounds like something his critics would say…smh.

  • joyce ward

    Stop the freaking madness….smh

  • Samuel

    JR alone = 19 FGA
    Dirk + Ellis = 18 FGA
    need to say more?

  • joyce ward

Point is that Harden doesn’t lead lin in jersey’s sold in China..smh

  • webattorney

Taking everything into account (getting a fair shake), I said many times that I believe at this point, Lin can achieve 17/7 for the entire season based on 35 minutes per game. How clearer can I get? I have seen Lin perform at a higher level for a stretch, so I am taking that into account also. But for the entire season, 17/7 is the top projection for Lin at this point in his career. Maybe it can go up more as he plays longer and constantly improves, adds a floater, etc.

  • Rookie75094

I do because the tankers signing rondo will clear the way for Jlin to the mavs

  • Samuel

Felton with season high 15 pts in 18 minutes!
Lakers whould sign him to team up with Jr!

  • Alain Gervais

oh yea i almost forgot thx

  • Alain Gervais

    whose jr

  • Alain Gervais

    lol typo

  • CJSHYY

    JC I think.

  • Samuel

    Kobe Jr

  • joyce ward

You argument still is mute at this point. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, but did not happen with lin getting a fair shake…smh

  • Alain Gervais

yea if it was for those menacing autocorrect

  • Brent Yen

    word

  • Rookie75094

yes …fat felton can be thrown in as a sweetener for the tankers to sign rondo.

  • webattorney

OK, so the only thing we can say at this point is: “We have no idea what Lin can achieve if given a fair treatment.”

  • Samuel

I can’t believe how easy for fat Felton to score with Jr on him tonight..

  • Je Ballew

Lakers pass first guards took 41 shots against the Mav’s.

  • Alain Gervais

next year will be interesting i plan on going to japan for college . hopefully i can follow lin like i do now.

  • joyce ward

No, I think if lin given the reigns he would easily be a 20/8 guy., We saw that after AS break.

  • Rookie75094

he is trying to show Jlin he is an nba level competitive eater.

  • akgul

Lin and Harden are two different playstyles..I see Lin as more of a creator by penetrating…Harden is a shooter..but if lin had more freedom he would put up better performances yes thats true…i mean look at houston now they want him back now why is that?

  • webattorney

I am only interested in Lin as a NBA player, so I don’t really care that much for other aspects of Lin the man, although Lin seems to be a good, humble, admirable person. Had Lin not played in NBA, I would not follow him other than check what’s happening to him once in 6 months. That’s just me, but everyone has their reason.

  • Brent Yen

    College? sounds great!

  • Rookie75094

with the internet my friend…. you can follow Jlin from anywhere

  • akgul

We’ll see guy is still maturing as a player.

  • webattorney

You made that prediction. My prediction is 17/7 for the season based on 35 minutes per game next year IF he’s given the reign. That’s all I am saying. We might never find out though. Maybe we will, maybe we won’t. I based it on Conley’s stats.

Also, Dragic had 20 and 6 during his best year based on 35 minutes, so if Lin is able to get 8 assists, his scoring will go down lower than 20. Besides, Lin doesn’t take that many shots, so 17/7 is what I am comfortable.

  • Alain Gervais

yea. will be a huge culture shock I’m guessing. theres an american university in japan. a lot of work has to be done from visa to flying for 14 hours. omg!!!!. i wonder whats the time difference

  • Alain Gervais

depends on time difference lol. unless i can sneak a tv in class

  • Brent Yen

about 13 hrs ahead of US time. Depends where you are in US. good luck..

  • Samuel

Good for you, Japanese girls are cute, but do you speak Japanese? and life there is very $$$..

  • Rookie75094

it is an actual box connect to your cable box at home…then install the app on your phone…voila.. you have tv.

  • akgul

Gonna Say one thing about Lakers Current rookie Pointguard….Dwight buycks is more of a pointguard than JC is..

  • Alain Gervais

ohh sweet is it better then the nba league pass app

  • Alain Gervais

well everyone is to be honest. including all centers lol

  • joyce ward

Tell us something we don’t know…smh

  • webattorney

Can’t say I watched buycks that carefully, but I believe you.

  • Rookie75094

yup you can watching all your channels from your cable box…. put it this way…you are streaming your tv at home to your phone.

  • joyce ward

Watch kobe shut down Clarkson next season…LOL BTW, I still think Rondo is coming to LA. Rondo and Carlin not on the same sheet of music.

  • Brent Yen

Do you know in 15 minutes, GXICo can save you 15% or more on car insurance?….sorry but that “knew that, do you know this” commercial is killing me.

  • joyce ward

    LOL, Brent…my dude….

  • akgul

Its crazy how much the Lakers org are forcing this kid as a pointguard next Westbrook yada yada….

  • Alain Gervais

clarkson won’t play much next year. back up to rondo if all things go well. but if lakers wanted to win he’d play back up sg.

  • joyce ward

They gotta sell tickets. That will last until Rondo is signed and Clarkson is on the bench..

  • Alain Gervais

omg i just had an epiphany lmao jk jk thx i never heard of it before. you knowledge master will make me better lmfao

  • Tina

buycks is out, along with wes? this season is ending on a really bad note for the lakers.

  • Kianainhi

Oh like you mean BS and Lin are also not on the same page. lol

    any time grass hopper.. 🙂

  • Kianainhi

What happened to Buycks? Wes will not travel with team tomorrow.

  • joyce ward

    What happened to him?

  • Alain Gervais

buycks is questionable at best. he will be back in d league after this

im SO glad lin did not get injured this season. it’s such a blessing in disguise. horrible season, but most importantly, he kept himself healthy.
but i feel for the other players…

  • Rookie75094

may be bs will have to force to play Jlin… the Lord works in mysterious way…hehe

  • akgul

True heard they cut the ticket prices for the games by half or something aswell…at least people can go and see the laker girls dance

  • joyce ward

    Mini Linsanity? 🙂

  • Maknusia

lol…anything and everything about LAL is suspicious!

  • Rookie75094

so… on the flip side rondo will seriously reconnect with kobe and seriously will eagerly await kobe call this summer… sweet.

  • Maknusia

Everything that happens in LAL is suspicious!

  • blubell
  • Rick

this team as a whole is really injury-prone starting with Julius Randle, Kobe ……now to the new guy Buycks. What’s wrong with the Lakers?

Wow, Is there a curse on the Lakers this year. I’m glad Lin escaped relatively healthy.

    poor Buycks.

  • Tina

i’m always scared of small earthquakes though! because i keep thinking a bigger one is coming.. now i’m paranoid

  • Rookie75094

Of course Jlin always want to play…hw has said that all along.

  • Alain Gervais

lin will say nah I’m good

  • Alain Gervais

  • blubell

seriously… they’re either just cursed… or.. maybe they should use analytics to figure out the best way to keep players healthy? is that what analytics can be used for? someone, enlighten me please

  • Maknusia

start from basic then ….ichi ni san shi, go… 😉

  • webattorney

    That’s nothing.

  • Brewkowski

    It will. One day.

I remember in grade school way back when… Teacher said the big one would come by year 2000. Also would have flying cars and on metric system.

  • webattorney

It could. Hope it doesn’t hit Irvine. Lol

  • Tina

    so… does that sounds like..
    PG: Rondo
    SG/PG combo: JC
    Small forward: Kobe (?)
    C: Black
    PF: J. Hill (?)

  • John Lee

Both. BS “conditioning” contributed to many of the early season injuries, and the bad karma that ensued was obviously no joke either.

  • Tina

hope it doesn’t hit anywhere in CA!! if it’s big enough, you’ll feel it in irvine!

  • Rookie75094

lol… now jc will join the recruiting effort…. he forgot that kobe will “put up a bunch of shots and does not get anyone involved”… haha…

  • CJSHYY

From LA Time by Mike B, JC said he is OK if Lakers have Rondo as PG then he will be SG.

  • CJSHYY

JC is just the tool for Kobe.. smh! I think to FO JC is a trade asset.

  • blubell

If it is anything like Northridge, Irvine will feel it.

  • webattorney

Definitely will feel. But there is a reason why I don’t live in LA. That’s it.

    Earthquake insurance too expensive anyway.

  • Alain Gervais

    definitely. cant wait

  • webattorney

Feeling it and getting wiped out is different.

  • Rookie75094

I hope he does get sign and trade to the mavs… welcome to the Jlin reality, rookie…hehe

  • blubell

OC is pretty safe I think.

  • Alain Gervais

lol 123. now i know my numbers thx

  • Alain Gervais

    thx

  • CJSHYY

I don’t like him & I think he will learn his reality next season no matter w Lakers or not.

  • Tina

no one’s safe.. i’m feeling very paranoid right now… lol

  • Rookie75094

that will teach him his place and talent level compare to Jlin.

  • John Lee

I thought the preferred way was ichi, ni, san, yon, go?

.@MarkG_Medina @BallinWithBryan Rooting hard for Rondo to the Lakers, him and Kobe for a full year will be amazing tv.— Haralabos Voulgaris (@haralabob) April 13, 2015

  • Tina

    this is awesome.

  • John Lee

Yeah that’s right, it’ll be amazing “drama”. Two divas sharing a stage.

  • Samuel

lol, so Jr knows Rondo isn’t “going to put up a bunch of shots he gets everyone involved.”. how about himself then?

  • blubell

Welcome to the other side. lol.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • LDZ

Which team should JLin be playing for next season?

There are 2 more games to go. Lin will be addressing his FA very soon and making decision based on which teams will pursue him, terms of package and guarantees, and other factors, including Owner, FO, HC, Systems, Star Players and Teammates.

Regardless if Busses and Kupchak want Lin back or not, as long as Bryant and Scott are still with the Lakers, Lin should not stay in LA. We all hope and want him to play for a team with Owner and FO which support him and HC with the right systems who let him play to his strengths and maximize his potential. No doubt if he joins the right team next season, he will shine as he should, can and deserves.

    So, which team is it?

Time is precious and timing is critical. Lin was already held back in his development over the past seasons because of playing for teams with star players who ISO a lot and not share the ball, Anthony, Harden, Bryant. He should have already established his status as an all-star PG by now after 5 years in the NBA, if he had the right environment to develop.

It’s just not good enough anymore for Lin to only play well with good stats and be recognized as a top-level PG. Lin must go to the right team and win Championship next season. He must place himself in NBA history among the Champions now. No more time to waste.

Lin had an incredible start and unbelievable journey with Linsanity. Next season, he must join a contender, step up, move forward and become NBA Champion. Now is the right time for Lin to be a Champ. No more Wasted Time. It’s ChampLin Time.

Lin has improved a lot in many areas and he is a better player now than when he was Linsanity. Lin will be at the prime of his NBA career in the next 2-3 years. He is ready. He must choose the team which offers him the best chance to play well and win Championship next season. Also he should win as a starting PG and not just a back-up PG off the bench.

I do not think it makes sense for Lin to join a non-contending team with young talents which will take 3-4 years to build into a
contender. If you look at the NBA Champions in the last ten years, Spurs, Heat, Lakers, Mavericks, Celtics, they all had the Big Three (or Four) star players with winning experience. Lin should join a contending team already with Big Two or Big Three so that he can be the Big Third or Big Fourth. A team with Owner and FO who know Lin well enough to appreciate his value and support him, HC who knows Lin well enough about his abilities and improvements and has the right Systems which Lin can
fit in easily and play well as a starter, and Teammate star players who know Lin’s strengths and accept that he can help them and the team to win championship.

How many of the 30 NBA teams can meet those criteria? Some of you are BB experts and can probably pick out those few teams easily. Personally, I think it will be one of the Texas Triangle, San Antonio, Dallas or Houston.

JLinPortal is a great Lin supporter. I would think it has sufficient resources and dedication to organize and lead a discussion group among members to establish what key factors to consider as the right team for Lin to win championship. Then go through the key factors for each team and come up with the best team scenarios. The final scenarios can be presented to Lin for his consideration as additional input. His own team must be looking at teams already. But it does not hurt to have another dozens of dedicated brains to help him figure things out.

Some of you may hate or dislike the idea of Lin going back to Houston. If King James can go back to Cleveland, ChampLin can go back to Houston and win as the Big Three. It would be even sweeter if Lin wins two in a row in Houston and then move back to New York and win another two.

  • Tina

maybe that’s why he wants rondo? so JC can put up many shots that rondo won’t take? same reason kobe wants rondo.

  • Rookie75094

the show will be called ” As the Ball turns………….over”

  • John Lee

    1) If D’Antoni gets a gig, Jeremy should follow (DEN or ORL?)
    2) Mavs or Spurs

No Houston, absolutely not while Morey/McHale are still around.

  • Rookie75094

    amen brother!!

  • Samuel

Don’t let Rondo’s numbers fool you, he averages about 9 points per game on 10 shots this year, yes, Rondo still wants his shots, he is just not a good shooter.
Lin averages 11.2 pts on 8.8 shots, as bad as Rondo is, he takes 1.2 more shots per game than Lin this year..

  • Rick

You know what? Journalists love all these type of drama between teammates or players vs coach. Yeah, root hard for Rondo to the Lakers. Rondo is really smart, he can always think several steps ahead to the extent he outsmarts himself per ESPN Baxter Holmes. Let’s see how Rondo and coach Scott get along next season

  • John Lee

Yeah, I’ve missed that train long ago. At least now that Alain gets a shot we can live a little through him. LOL

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Some of you already jump off the LIN wagon then jump on the Clarkbe

    REMEMBER NOT TO COME BACK.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Totally agree. Rondo took more shots this season but he just couldn’t make it or didn’t get the playing time like he used to in Boston.

  • TTNN
  • Rookie75094

    Who?

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen
  • Tina

??? we are all lin fans here. that’s why we spend time posting on a lin site?

  • blubell

So where is the oldest kid? lol.

  • Samuel

    1) play for whoever signs D’Amtoni
    2) sign with a team where Lin can start, gets 30+ minutes, and gets play his game, even if it’s a bad team like the Sixers.
I’m all against the idea that Lin off bench to play on a playoff team, because Lin might not be start again if that happens, every other NBA teams would see Lin as a backup from now on. Also, Lin wont get many playing time as a backup PG on a good team, I just don’t want to see that to happen.

  • Brent Yen

OKC is gonna face POR then MIN. NOP is gonna face MIN then SAS…..I hope OKC out…lol

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Scroll down.

  • Brent Yen

all grown up with spiky hair….lol

  • Rick

Someone should do a video for Lin: JLin is a complete player ready to shine
    subtitle:
    1. JLin can pass: no-look pass, long pass, behind-back pass, between-the-legs pass
    2. JLin can score
    3. JLin can go left
    4. JLin can defend
5.JLin pick-n-roll (with Tyson Chandler, Landry Fields, Ed Davis…)

  • Brent Yen

But he can not change his last name. lol

  • Tina

    he became a basketball player

  • LAJane

LOL…not only the hair, the whole expression! 😀

  • John Lee

NOP owns tie-breaker and OKC might have to play POR without Westbrook. So unless NOP fumbles with the Wolves, we just may get our wish. 🙂

  • John Lee

    …or skin color.

  • wandertheglobe

    Eddie? He’s a chef on viceTV. 🙂

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Anyone praising Clarkson agreed with BS. Anyone agreed w BS is a Lin doubter.

  • blubell

I see facial hair too… stubbles lol.

  • TTNN

Gosh, are you okay? Relax…… it is not the end of the world when Clarkson got some love

  • blubell
  • joyce ward

Dude get your life. When it becomes a level playing field for lin…then we can talk. All you doing now is blowing smoke screens to try to justify your points, which you reallyy don’t have any if we are looking at things being all even and fair.

  • Brent Yen

    what happened to RWB?

  • Rick

    well, he can.
example: Ron Artest => Metta World Peace
so my question to is which new name should Lin choose

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

    LOL….this is too strict….

  • John Lee

Whoever she is, lady’s got good taste in guys.

I actually meant what John Lee said… lol

  • blubell

  • Brent Yen

I got a feel that it might be rescinded…

  • joyce ward

I am with dude. Who care about Clarkson who is always given the benefit of the doubt when Lin clearly is not. BTW I am not giving praise to any player in the NBA when the table is prepared for you to do really well…

  • Maknusia

    LOL…everyone entitle to their view

  • Brent Yen

    good pts.

  • Keith

Constance Wu looks like a teenager here.

  • John Lee

I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. NBA is getting real close to becoming NBS.

  • blubell
  • John Lee

She can barely stand straight! Looks as if she’s melting. LOL

  • LAJane

Holy cow. He’s been taking “runaway ill-advised quote” lessons from BS.

  • Keith

Yeah. Look like she just leaned on Lin.

  • akgul

Ok so if Everything is fair and even level playing field and all where do you see jeremy lin as a player? what stats is he going to have?

  • blubell

    She needs to back off….

  • Keith

Too extreme. haha..She is pretty though

  • Maknusia

    Gargantua?! 🙂

  • Rick

JLin is busy changing clothes tonight
    warmup gear =>> formal suit=>leisure

  • Acbc

He needs to be an X-men with the super power to change the colour of his skin. Lol

  • Keith

    …and his ethnicity.

  • Tina

whoa.. lol.. i LOVE jlin. i don’t like JC. but, i just don’t agree with saying he’s a bad player. table set or not, he proves himself when given the opportunity. but, while i say that, i will admit i don’t like him all that much. head is too full of arrogance imo

  • Acbc

“For whom the ball tolls”. “A basket too far”.

Or for Lin= ” Exodus”. Lol

  • orLinaryjoe

    My goodness, 8 pack!

  • joyce ward

Lin is clearly a player who could excels if if given keys to the kingdom. I see Lin easily as 20/8 on any given night against good teams. I think he his stats would even excel even more with teams that were not good. Lin has already proven that if you give him the ball he can turn water into wine. So you coming on here posting the crap “about lin being an inspiration” rings to me as sleight of hand saying that he is not a good player. So as I stated before, when it becomes a level playing field for lin, most of your opinion is based on subjugation at best and not pure analysis of his game.

  • Brent Yen

or just get the Photostatic Veil from S.H.I.E.L.D

  • orLinaryjoe

    Haha, bluebell has dibbs!

  • joyce ward

I wander how Clarkson would fair if the table wasn’t set before him. I watched him when teams focused on him, and he looked lost. I watched Smart, Wiggins, Embrid and Noel, and when they were the focus of the defense, they seemed to play well.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

of course they do and do i.

  • LDZ

I always enjoy reading your viewpoints. Would appreciate your view on my posting above on Which team should JLin be playing for next season?

  • orLinaryjoe

“Dang, this is how I feel at work these days. Will not cut my hair until I land on a new team”

  • takemeback2reaganyears

What heck good if you shoot a bunch score a bunch but still got your azz beaten? You praise one when not only play well but the most important thing is winning.

  • joyce ward

Kings, Nuggets, Magics, Dallas, Philly, just to name a few.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Clarkson would got his azz on the bench because of big L.

  • webattorney

She could beat up Lin. Lol

  • John Lee

Ewww…Hinkie’s team, tanks but no tanks! LOL

  • LDZ

    Thanks.

  • joyce ward

Ans I pretty sure she was macking lin pretty hard after this picture.LOL

  • Tina

yeah. this WHOLE season was a bunch of losses. don’t forget that.
all i’m saying is.. JC took the opportunity to show that he can play in the NBA.
but this doesn’t mean i’m inadvertently praising byron too. or that i’m a lin doubter. that’s just over-reaching.
let me make it clear to you. i do not like JC. don’t care for the guy. but don’t think he’s a “bad” player. just poor defense and some things that need working on. but fair overall.

  • orLinaryjoe

Ending? It was beginning, middle, and the end. Bad joo joo.

  • Tina

    anyways, no more JC talk!

  • Tina

    do they film in LA?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin doubters have used his teammates when write their hate comments about lin.

If you praised Clarkson for taking pg duty away lin which designed by BS, you’re just as lin doubter yourself. So go here n not to come back Clarkson net.

Let us true lin fans here talk about his future in the next team.

  • Brent Yen

Oh man…we will have to talk about that for the next 80 days or so. I assume as usual, his 1st pic in summer is a picture of him fishing somewhere….with Jared Jefferis, and hopefully MDA too

  • John Lee

I hear you and often times feel the same way. But seriously you need to dial it back a notch, for your own sake if no one else’s. Take a deep breath and lay back.

  • Brent Yen

@psalm234:disqus, when will you throw that “Lin left LAL” party? LOL

  • Tina

    exactly! too extreme…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Anyone here praying clarkson is also justifyIng bs action on lin. You don’t have to agree w me but pls not to tell me to dial it down.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Clarkson.net n have a great time.

  • blubell

Is he partying right now without us? haha.

  • John Lee

If you prefer that the Mods get on your case instead…

  • Tina

seriously? i’m just trying to be a lin fan here. but, okay.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Stop crying like a baby

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Trying? Smh

  • John Lee

Map weapons hurt everyone. We love Linsanity, but not loss of sanity.

  • Tina

u read into things too much. if i say, i’m a lin fan here, that won’t make sense. alright?

  • blubell

Let’s change the subject. It will be a long off season and we have better things to talk about!

  • orLinaryjoe

Just need to know one important phrase: “a-na-ta-wa kawaii-des”

  • John Lee

So am I. But calling out other fans in order to vent one’s own anger brings the level of this place down. There’s a reason I left the old turf.

  • John Lee

I think Ed Davis must join the fishing squad.

  • joyce ward

Soap Box time: The NBA is a plethora of misconceptions. It is a Black league that says that you have to conform to how we play if you want to succeed in this league. You have to become “blackish” to dwell in this league. The players NBA union is a farce at best because I don’t see them doing a lot for many of the players in the league. Also many NBA players got a wake up call when Thesolofa was treated like a black man in American when he was arrested being treated like a common criminal. Many black players sympathizing with the Martin kid, the man in NY and the Ferguson shooting, by wearing jersies with “I can’t breathe” and the hooded jersies. So now it gets real because I think alot of them thought that they were immune from this type of treatment. So the treatment of a black NBA player by the NY police was a wake up call for a lot of them. America, just suggested to them, you might be extraordinaire on the bball court, but off the court you are just another minority in America that will be racially profiled even given the chance. Hopefully this will open up the talks for the NBA to look at the racism across the league and open up some dialogue about this issue.

  • joyce ward

    ??

  • Maknusia

    metamorphose

  • joyce ward

I just think he is like me, I recognize the slight of hand at times when they are stating the are lin fans, when in reality they are mostly lin critics. I am not agreeing with what h is doing, but I get it.

  • Maknusia

    probably with @michael

  • John Lee

Translation: become part of Jeremy’s inner circle of friends.

  • John Lee

You saw how people treat Mystique, right?

  • John Lee

I know two or three of those usual suspects, none of whom is here today.

  • John Lee

I remember the 1992 LA riot during the Rodney King incident, it came within six blocks of where I used to live. Over two decades later, really haven’t really improved a bit. How very sad that in this day and age people still act this way. Doesn’t everyone bleed red when shot?

  • joyce ward

Exactly. if you have this on the outside, I couldn’t even imagine the tactics that are going on behind the scenes in the NBA in dealing it’s dealing with non-white players.

  • sws94

    Yes, very strong looking.

  • John Lee

At least in the NBA, when the ugliness is put on the table, it gets chopped à la Sterling. Too bad Ferry wasn’t chopped with the same swiftness, but his career did take a toll that will likely not recover.

  • Maknusia

Both are interchangeably used…depending on sentence phrase

  • blubell
  • akgul

i have said many times before that Lin has the talent but has not given a fair shot at starting…where in me saying that he has the talent to be a great player did you think that i was saying he is not a good player….i even said he has nash vibes…if thats not me thinking the guy has the potential to be a great player i dont know what will. in the right system he would blossom…i have said that enough times thats what i think…he is an inspiration so what if said that he is? can you name 10 players of asian descent in the nba? the guy came in the league and broke records of course he is a good player gimme a break you cant do that if you’re not a good player

  • nice, I believe @Michael:disqus lives in Japan..
    have fun over there!

  • wut .. right after the last SAC game, right?

yes, yes.. I do need to rehearse opening the champagne bottle lol

  • they look so tiny compared to Jeremy :]
it’s like visiting the land of the giants

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Sanity would not agree w BS.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Write what you meant pls.

  • akgul

Go to lakersnation where you’ll probably see me defending jeremy lin from people who view him as a scrub (would advice you not too because they are crazy)

  • akgul

Why would you bash clarkson? what is he supposed to do? say no i dont want to play how is any of this his fault?

  • not sure if posted yet
If somehow we get Bromance back in a few months, I guess it’s better than BScott Tank

Sometimes life give us tough choices lol

  • akgul

Kings Or Mavericks i think…Cousins/Lin would be crazy good i think

  • joyce ward

I could care less about Lakernation or any laker fansite for that matter. The point I was trying to make is that we can sit here all day and talk about what lin needs to improve on to remain relevant in the NBA, when the truth of the matter is that lin is not the only player in the NBA that needs to improve their game.. You stating that lin is no Westbrook, but the truth of the matter is that we don’t really know because he has not been given free reign to play his game. so when you come on here with your so called analysis of his game, keep in mind that it has never been a level playing for in.

  • akgul

Do you take me saying on what Lin needs to improve on as a bad thing? i thought this was a site about jeremy lin and people could come here and discuss what he could get better at to be more of a complete player? yeah level playing field and all i get you cant analyze someone who is not given a fair shot…but you can still see where he needs to improve his game to be a more effective player….i dont care about other players im a Lin fan and im expressing my thoughts on what could make him even better take that in any way you want. Maybe to you it is a waste of time to discuss these kind of stuff but to me it isn’t i like to discuss stuff like what Lin could improve on.

  • John Lee

Not a single soul here agrees with BS, so stop it with the witchhunt.

So JC scores to the detriment of the team…again, it’s neither new nor the end of the world. So what if some Lin fan decided to give a little kudo tos JC by saying that he played well? Perhaps the definition of “played well” was off and not the same as yours, is that ground for you to randomly label people Lin-doubters? Would it be OK, then, to just say JC scored well? Or if he “stat-padded well”? Would that be more to your satisfaction and approval so you’d stop labeling people?

What’s your goal, play semantic police based on JC-hating?

Look, I’m on your side, I GET IT. But just because I don’t like seeing JC turning into mini-Kobe or mini-Bev in terms of overblown ego doesn’t mean I have to get out of my way to bite other Lin fans’ head off for saying something you don’t like.

  • Guest

    ya me te~~~~

  • Tina

    ??

  • Linja

Hey, Rondo and Kobe will coach BS.

  • Tina

long hair, short hair, crazy hair. don’t matter. adorable no matter what!

  • Guest

    Ditto

  • joyce ward

Don’t get it twisted, following your postings here, you never even said what lin needs to improve in. As a matter of fact, I found must of what you posted on here about lin was quite condescending. Your statements like ‘lin has a good heart and lin is no westbrook, but he could be good in the right system”. Then what really put you over the top was you talking about going on Lakernation defending Lin as to make you sound legit. BTW, we all know this is a lin fan site, there also we know when we smell bull, and you my friend are one of those trying to sell and it is not working…smh

  • Kwok Wai Lai

But the team Atlanta is not affected and goes on being one of the top teams this year.

  • John Lee

They are blessed with a quality coach, lucky them. Brett Brown shouldn’t be too bad either, coming from the same roots as Budenholzer, but too bad he picked Hinkie the tanker supreme.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Exactly. Lin doesn’t need to play like Westbrook. What did Westbrook do lately? His team lost with him taking 43 shots scoring half of the team’s points. Anthony Morrow played 29 minutes took only 4 shots. We all know how good a shooter Morrow is. He took only 4 shots in the game. Westbrook makes this OKC a one man team.
Indiana beat OKC fair and square. CJ Miles took 14 shots and scored 30 points, George Hill took 10 shots and scored 19 points, combined they took 24 shots and scored 49 points for Indiana while Westbrook took 43 shots and scored 54 points.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah that kind of Laker basketball won’t win many games.
Look at how Boston and Milwaukee distributed the ball. Everybody wins.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Duncan is going for his 6th while Kobe can only hope for in his next life. Does the rings really matter much. Steve Nash doesn’t have a ring but he will be the most influential PG in NBA history with his innovations in plays and moving the team.

I can say that Kobe is a cancer to any team in NBA now. The game of basketball has changed even there are still players going for Kobe model of success, that won’t make it to a championship anymore. It’s Spurs and Hawks which are leading NBA to a new era. OKC with Westbrook possibly won’t even make it to the playoff.

Tony Parker really sums it up well for the Spurs.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin silently on his way to NBA uncovers the darkside of the Force in the league.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Quite so. More than once, Lin just pointed to Jabrai Brown and Jordon Clarkson where to stand in order to space the floor.

  • Res 683

The season finale for FOTB is this Tuesday (2 episodes). I hope the show is renewed. It has received some very good ratings (Rotten Tomatoes 90% “certified fresh,” IMDB 8.2/10), but viewership has been steadily declining (pilot, 7.9 million, episode 10, down to 4.8 million).

Tune in to watch, or record it! Especially if you are a Nielsen family =)

The show is loosely based on Eddie Huang’s memoir of the same title. Huang is a huge bball fan. Linsanity inspired bao at his restaurant Baohaus:

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Buycks is going to be out for the season too, I guess.

  • Filler-up

The girl in the pic looks pretty hot.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Scott changes his requirement of the PG when he comes to JC.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Buycks broke his right hand and will miss the remaining two games. This injury came hours after Jeremy Lin (knee) was formally announced as out for the rest of the season.

What can you make out of it? To me, it’s a message telling BS that igure that everything is under your control, Byron Scott. Not even close!

  • kittyhead

wow so surprised that Lin still didnt achieve 10 shots per game this season…smh

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Should I call this the Divine Intervention?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

WestBrook 43 FGA in a game. He made 21 of them scoring 54 points but the team lost to Indiana.
Anthony Morrow played 29 minutes, took 4 shoots and made 2-3 3Ps.
This is crazy statistics. We all know that Anthony Morrow is a heck of a shooter but he only took 4 shots.

You know that MVP promotion is getting out of control. Westbrook has taken many of his teammates out of their games while losing to Indiana 116:104.

  • 1mtoldman

woo its the whole fresh off the boat crew. btw my son points out it is constantly stated in comments on this show that it is the first show with an asian lead since margaret cho’s but people are forgetting (or ignoring most likely) the great sammo huongs “martial law” which blew our minds at the time and was well after cho’s show.

  • 1mtoldman

that would be the vaccum cleaner hand; what i think you are going for is the hover hand.

  • 1mtoldman

what if you were the receipient?

  • 1mtoldman

we need a poll on whether messy hair is sexy.

  • 1mtoldman

hmm this is bad i wanted lin to end the season as the team leader in points, steals and assists (total points steals and assists) just to show who was despite only starting 30 games and everything else still the most productive player the lakers had from a “large sample size”.

but if they have no able bodies left hill and or boozer may get some minutes in the final two games and pass him in points.

btw. davis led in the other two categories: blocks and rebounds; so davis and lin clearly the most productive on the season players for the lakers, despite neither one starting more than 30 games.

it was asked somewhere here who would you (a theoretical you, anyone) keep of the lakers; i would only keep lin and davis (as starters).

  • Maknusia

i bet the consensus would be yes=sexy! 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Davis and Lin in the last few games rarely played together. Granted we all know they are the most effective combo for the Lakers. It’s Byron Scott’s decision. The plot thickens.

  • CJSHYY

I want Lin to finish season strong but too bad this will not happen bc even when he was on the court, he didn’t get enough playing time & ball so he will not be able to do what we wish him to do.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron has taken this possibility away by signing D-leaguers in place of him.

  • CJSHYY

After watched few games from JC, I think his play looked really rookie to me. LOL! But he sure did look every chance to score. His D is bad bc what he focus on court only ISO to get himself good stats. He is indeed more SG than PG to me.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

You need a team owner with a fishing boat.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It seems that Lakers’ rebuilding plan is to go with veterans over the prime, like Kobe and Rondo. Go Luck Laker fans if you haven’t changed to be fans of the Clipper yet.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I only notice that once Rondo left Boston, they start winning more games. Now they almost clinches a playoff berth now. That is an impressive run that they put up. The magic number is 1. Either Boston wins one more game or (Brooklyn/Indiana) loses one more game.

  • Brewkowski

Woah, was this yday? Lin actually was warming up and shooting before Scott announced he was done for the season? That’s awfully suspicious.

  • webattorney

When police tells you to step back, you better do it. We don’t have all the facts.

  • John Lee

Yeah, but we have the video. Who needs to fire eight shots from behind? Was Mr. Scott the T-1000?

  • webattorney

People who were hurt due to the riot were IMO:

    Merchants near by.
    Image of Blacks rioting.
    LA police.

My friend’s father lost a lot of money due to the riot.

  • webattorney

Talking about NBA player situation, not the Scott one. On the Scott one, I agree. Clearly, police over reacted big time. On Ferguson, not sure.

  • Kwok Wai Lai
  • webattorney

It is sad, but shows you people are the same. Sin is there.

  • sws94

Clarkson knows he’s not a PG. He doesn’t even really want to be one.

  • sws94

We know Lin is a great coachable kid. Maybe Byron’s problem is Lin wasn’t afraid to criticize the coach without doing it directly and Byron’s ego couldn’t take players that challenged him, like Carlos Boozer:

“He’s gotten better. When he first got here, his mind of what a point guard is is totally different than mine,” Scott said. “As we went along, he started to understand what I wanted on a day-to-day basis. I thought the progression was much better. But I’m not happy with the way it ended with him being out. He got better throughout the season.”

Scott then praised Lin after offering plenty of pointed critiques regarding his decision making, turnovers, aggressiveness and consistency.

“The one thing about him is the kid takes criticism. You can jump on him about things and he takes it with a grain of salt and tries to get better,” Scott said. “That’s one thing I do love about him. He doesn’t pout about it or doesn’t cry. He goes out there to implement the things you give him to become a better basketball player. He got a lot better mentally as the season went along. A lot of that comes with the understanding of what the coach wants. I saw big time growth from day one to the present day where he got better as a basketball player.”

The same guy that said something like there are guards, not point of shooting guards.

  • sws94

Lin getting love on LG on his thread.

  • Brent Yen

too little and too late..we cares what they say…lol

  • webattorney

I guess BS now feels guilty towards Lin. Lol Too little, too late.

  • webattorney

Let’s be more open-minded. When Lin isn’t playing, we can’t just talk about which hair cut is best for Lin. Also, no one here saying JC is a better PG than Lin.

  • webattorney

I think he wanted JC to say: “I am a lousy PG and the only reason I am playing here today is because Lin was unfairly treated, and I am not good enough to even be on the same hard floor with Lin.” JC taking advantage of Lin being treated unfairly. Someone’s misfortune is another’s fortune in NBA. That’s how Linsanity started also. And Lin took advantage of the situation also. JC may not be as humble as Lin, but he doesn’t seem to be a bad kid. Maybe not as smart, but you can’t hold that against him.

  • CJSHYY
  • webattorney

Tina, if you say anything complimentary about the players who benefited from Lin not playing, you will be told to go to another site. Lol But Mods are not that unreasonable, so keep on voicing your opinions. It’s not as if we are GMs; we can only voice our opinions in a reasonably respectful manner. Lol

  • Maknusia

lol…most of the posters at LG been fair to Lin, especially DB was a Lin supporter as well

  • Brent Yen

As long as Lin is not there, …lol Rondo will go to Lakers I think

  • John Lee

Ellis already announced opting out next season, and now we have Rondo’s comment. This means Mavs will have the starting backcourt wide open, definitely a plus for Jeremy’s FA.

  • Brent Yen

Not sure if he supports Lin or not.

  • CJSHYY

That’s what I thought… Check this out from BS to Lin…

“The one thing about him: The kid takes criticism,” Scott said. “You can jump on him about things, and he takes it with a grain of salt and he tries to get better. That’s the one thing I do love about him. He doesn’t pout about it. He doesn’t cry. He just goes out there and tries to implement the things that you give him and become a better basketball player.”

  • Maknusia

early in the season whenever Lin’s minutes been reduced our taken out from court he had criticized BS…thats before he came to realize its all because of tanking

  • webattorney

At least, it’s a compliment given too late though. But still a compliment.

  • CJSHYY

But the other day I tweet to Mav’s reporter about Lin, he said this to me.

    TheSmokingCuban ‏@thesmokingcuban Apr 8

@CJStock_Sport He could be, but I think they’d prefer a more defensive oriented guard to play starter minutes.

  • CJSHYY

I think bc his boss wants Lin that’s why…. LOL!

  • webattorney

    Guilt, I think. Lol

  • CJSHYY

Another one about Lin’s poor D. smh!

    TheSmokingCuban ‏@thesmokingcuban Apr 8

@CJStock_Sport It might not be as bad as his reputation suggests but I’ve seen him plenty and his D isn’t great. Plays hard tho. I like him.

  • Brent Yen

I am maybe too picky. But that is not supporting, that is just stating the fact…lol

  • webattorney

    Rondo knows Kobe is desperate.

  • Brent Yen

That means they do not want Curry, or Lillard as their PG…lol totally make sense…LOL

  • CJSHYY

In fact, I saw one program from Mav’s reporters & they said PB is their target?! But of course that reporter could be paid by PB’s agent… ?!

  • Maknusia

    hahaha…Hey! I’m watching you!…lol

As long as everyone put their view respectfully, it should be fine…we are gathered here because of Lin, which is our common ground, we may differ in our opinion and view add together on another player’s uprising….everyone is entitled to their view

  • Maknusia

    hahaha…ok fine then

  • Brent Yen

They have dirk and Ellis….their D will not be very good anyway in playoff. Just saying..

  • takemeback2reaganyears

This damage control is all bull. Lin gotten better? BS was doing every thing he could to put Lin in the worst situation then turned around calling him solf and thinking too much?

Lin has proven he can lead a team to victory not about his own stats but unfortunately all three teams he played for all got protected superstar franchise players and we all understand that. But when he put a rookie up to replace Kobe in order to continue his hatred on lin is unjustified. So to praise the silver spoon Clarkson is to agree with BS.

  • Maknusia

you should have posted Brent’s question below?!..lol

  • Brent Yen
  • CJSHYY

I guess these reporters probably didn’t watch Lin’s game for a while. Their impression still stay w Morey’s PR job on Lin w poor D. smh!

  • webattorney

I guess stars are given special treatment. Yeap, really fair. A rigged game. That’s why I just follow Lin games. I gave up watching boxing for the same reason.

  • Brent Yen

That is the not so good part of being Lin..(and his fans) lol

  • joyce ward
  • Brent Yen

This league is just ugly, not gonna spend money on them

  • webattorney

That’s why I just spend $80 on Balls***. Lol

  • Brent Yen

    did exactly the same….

  • CJSHYY

I think so too. The key is up to Lin not Kobe or Rondo now. Of course if Lin is not stay then Kobe will get his wish to get Rondo.

  • we pretty much know Lin can play but they choose not to for whatever reasons, tanking or keeping Lin healthy before FA

  • Brent Yen

Maybe team Lin talked him out of this 3 games

  • Maknusia

I wonder…cant Portland raise an official complaint?!

  • interesting, Sammo Hung’s “martial law” didn’t go for many seasons if I remember correctly?

I think FOTB really reaches out a lot of audience outside AA demographics so it’s really good. Very funny and Constance Wu’s witty personality really carried the show

  • Brent Yen

    I doubt it…

  • hehe.. Jeremy’s hair power!

  • NBA = Nothing but Business Association :]

  • sws94

If Lin goes to team X and plays out of his mind, then Byron looks stupid (well, more stupid). He’s warning the world, Lin is really good, really coachable and is an improving player. He knows Lin is going to work on his game over the summer and play well. If he has a good system and coach and minutes, add in an Ed Davis type of big man, then watch out.

  • Brent Yen

How can he be MORE stupid?…..

  • sws94

Just wait for his next set of comments. Never fails.

  • if Lakers will try to sign Lin on the cheap, they really have no incentive to play Lin and let him shine in the past 2 games to increase his FA value. Similar to how they benched Davis to sign him on the cheap

But they’re dreaming if they think Lin will come back for the money and fame in LA

  • Brent Yen

    LMAO

  • Maknusia

    hahaha

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Comparing these two praising from BS:

*“He’s gotten better. When he first got here, his mind of what a point guard is is totally different than mine,” Scott said. “As we went along, he started to understand what I wanted on a day-to-day basis. I thought the progression was much better.

*Lakers: Scott is giving his endorsement for Defensive Player of the Year to Jordan. “He scares the h*** out of guys and alters shots and he makes guys think about coming into the middle,” Scott said. .

  • webattorney

Yes, as long as it’s reasonably respectful, or reasonably unrespectful. I try to stay away from attacking the poster unless I am attacked first.

  • akgul

Like i said take it as you will. im not trying to sell anything im discussing lin with people who want to discuss how he is as a player you are looking to much into things i say so what if i said Lin has a good heart or he is no westbrook…it’s my opinion you have yours i have mine stop trying to think i have some hidden agenda with everything im saying honestly whats up with this. think i have said what i think Lin needs to train on plenty of times so have many others.

  • akgul

True thats how it is no need to choose sides. JC can at least play some basketball unlike other teammates.

  • webattorney

Yes, he is a rookie and guess what, he plays like one, so no surprise there. He did improve. His mental make-up is definitely a SG, not PG. Lin’s mental make-up is definitely PG, not SG.

  • akgul

well…he is a rookie tho not hard to see he is a marketing tool for the lakers you know the fuuuuuture my guess he wont be in a lakers uniform for long if he plays PG.

  • webattorney

Let’s not be 100% certain that Lin will not come back. It all depends on other offers.

  • webattorney

    Right on.

  • webattorney

Good point. There is a reason why I go back and forth. Lol

  • webattorney

Agree with dr. b. I would not be surprised if Lin gets re-signed. I still have enough respect for Lakers FO to say “no” to Rondo. They can’t possibly be this dumb.

  • CJSHYY

What made you think Lin will re-signed w Lakers?

  • webattorney

All depends on offers he gets. First, it would not surprise me if Lakers tries to re-sign Lin for $5 Mill per year. If Lin doesn’t get good offers, he might have to consider it. If Rondo not signed and Kobe goes out, BS will go out also, so it may allow Lin an opportunity to be a part of a rebuilding process.

It also would not surprise me if Rockets tries to re-sign Lin and Lin goes there. Grass is always greener somewhere else.

  • CJSHYY

I am a little bit worry too bc I guess Lakers will try their best to get Lin to stay… just like they did to D12 even they didn’t do anything to stop Kobe was bad to D12. But FO made it up to D12 by the good offer…

  • webattorney

The problem is what BS wants from his players is all wrong. Lol

  • webattorney

The thing is as much as BS bad mouths Lin, even BS knows Lin is not a bad player. Same thing with Rockets. They just don’t want to pay too much for him because they think there should be an Asian discount. Lol Ed Davis is getting paid way too low also. Ridiculous.

IMO, Lin performed fairly well for getting paid $8 Mill per year for the last 3 years.

  • Alain Gervais

    thx

  • Acbc

Yeah, but no need to vent anger at others.

The game is rigged by the FO and BS and no one can win this game. It’s like arguing over whose going to win a game of musical chairs when there is only one chair reserved for KOBE. We are letting others manipulate us into a frenzy of heated arguments over a chair that no one can ever sit on except for KOBE.

DON’T LET THE “MASTERS OF WAR” MANIPULATE AND PLAY YOU LIKE A TOY DRUM. Clarkson is being played like a patsy and while KOBE is injured, he is allowed to sit in the single musical chair ” while the jester sits on the sideline in a cast”.

  • wandertheglobe

We all know Melo was fool’s gold. I can’t believe Phil would fall for it though. I guess this is a star league and teams run over themselves to get a star, deserved or not.

  • Rick Johnson

Yes, I hope he goes to a team that will utilize him properly though I think he being a star on a good Lakers team would be the best worldwide / Asia exposure. Perhaps he will go to Dallas on a short contract, have a break out and will get a max contract with new CBA rules with the Lakers after Kobe and BS gone.

  • wandertheglobe

If Lin were to be offered $5M/year to join the following teams. Which team and why?

    – Lakers – I hope not, if Kobe and BS are around.
    – Mavs – If Rondo is gone, it will be a good fit for him.
    – Warriors – Great situation to show off his talents and the best team in the league.
    – Spurs – Heir apparent to Parker. He’ll get to play the right way and Pop is the best in the business.

Personally, I think it wouldn’t be too bad if Lin goes to the Warriors to be Curry’s backup for a one-year contract. GS is tailor made for Lin, he’ll get to play in his hometown and if he shines with the Warriors, he’ll command a big contract in 2016 when the new CBA kicks in.

  • Rick Johnson
  • CJSHYY

I think he is a trade asset. No matter he plays PG or SG. he is not the future in Lakers’ plan.

  • Briiick

Phil didn’t want him, the owner forced him to change his mind.

  • that’s very possible
He seems to be too “happy” to be not playing :]
Maybe he’s playing Clash of Clan online instead

  • I shudder to think but HOU might be better destination than LAL.
    Let it not be so!

  • akgul

i think the same but the Lakers org are just marketing him that way.

  • The only concern with GSW is how much Playing Time will Lin get as Curry’s backup?

The upside is playoff experience & a chance to win a ring but it probably won’t command good contracts w/ limited PT.
If contract/All-Star aspiration is Lin’s #1 key, he’ll be better off playing for a PnR heavy team in the East possibly with MDA to get the All-Star numbers.

It’ll be interesting to see if Lin chooses championship route with GSW/Spurs or All-Star(+long-term championship) route with a young team. My guess is the 2nd one since he previously chose HOU thinking he’ll be the anchor of a young team.
This time he’ll choose a coach/GM he can trust.

  • Brent Yen

I think Lin might have to choose a backup role for now. But I hope he get starter offer…

  • which team do you think he might get a starter offer?
I am hoping for MDA team (Denver/Orlando) then perhaps 76ers/Kings and a long-shot of Detroit

  • Brent Yen

For starter, Ideally….Dallas…Pistons and 76ers. Remotely hopeful might be like teams such as Celtics. I mean we really can not judge based on current landscape. Even if there is a starter PG for a particular team, he can be moved in seconds in FA anyway.

  • true, Dallas seems very ideal if Rondo is moved.
I don’t even know who BOS PG is now

I think we can feel good many opposing coaches at least credited Lin for killing their teams during some Linsane games. But we don’t know if the GMs feel the same way. I’m hoping for at least 2-3 teams bidding on Lin for starter job.

  • TTNN

BOS start Smart and IT off bench.

  • TTNN

GSW! Better team, better fans, better owner and franchise.

  • Brent Yen

The key is next yr, Lin will have to let his play to do the talking. If he is fully supported, that will happen. Once the perception is turned, things then will start to turn around. JMO.

  • TTNN

say it this way, if 5M/yr to sign with Lakers vs. Rockects, I’d rather him goes to Rockets, though I’d hated it if him to go back there.

There is no point for Jeremy to wasted his time in Lakers, it is not a good stage of Lakers for rebuilding even, the franchise need to sort it out how they are going to deal with Kobe and which direction they are going. Even they fire BS, if they are still holding on Kobe for his last year, there is no point for Jeremy to waste his time in this system.

Even he plays as a back up in other stable team is time better used than in Laker.

  • LDZ

I would be interested to know why you think Rockets may try to re-sign Lin. Will he be a starter or back up PG there? How will Alexander, McHale, Harden, Howard and Rockets fans look at and treat Lin differently this time? I looked at the old highlights. When they let Lin play to his strengths, the game was fast and exciting.

  • joyce ward

    No argument there

  • guest

5Mil, backup, omg, some Lin fans are unbelievably stuck in the Asian discount phobia.

  • Brent Yen

    LOL

  • Rick

Lakers sign guard Vander Blue for the final two games

  • thanks, that means it depends on how high BOS in Smart.
For some reason, I don’t sense BOS is interested in Lin much so I’m hoping for other known teams

  • Rick

Exactly. IMO, Lin is a better player than Rubio
    Look how much Rubio gets

  • Rick

    13.75M / yr

  • Brent Yen

Not disagreeing, but let’s make Rubio an Asian and see how much left he could get out of that 13.75/yr. LOL

  • LDZ

    Sorry I left out Morey.

  • very true .. I just don’t want him to be branded as the perennial backup if he signs up with a contender.
Sometimes being a big fish (for PT) in the little pond will open more eyes of bigger potential

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I could also see Lin in Sacramento..Their starting guard, Collison is a bit injury prone and they might want to bring in Lin as insurance policy if he doesn’t come back fully healthy.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I hope he doesn’t go to the warriors…He will not get enough playing time with Curry/Thomson playing up to 35 minute per every night….I don’t understand why any Lin fan would want Lin in a team where he would be fully planted into the bench…it would even be worse than being a Laker.

  • Rick Johnson

    Ellis may be leaving too.

  • Brent Yen

It is really hard to be worse than being a Laker tho..lol

  • Tina

I may be wrong, but mchale also might be a better coach than bs. I’m pretty sure I’m right (because I can’t imagine a worse coach than bs), but I don’t know too much about mchale..

  • Tina

Yeah.. I think so too.. :/

  • For those who’d like to see Jeremy chewing food during games waiting for his day of freedom soon

    https://twitter.com/Librafree/status/587663697427824640

  • Game 81 vs SAC Thread is now open
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g81-lal-sac-game-threadbest-coachteam-poll/

Only 2 games left. Byron has announced Jeremy Lin won’t play for the last 2 games due to sore left knee, although the fractured finger injury of Dwight Buycks might give a small chance for Lin to play.

Lin sure looked healthy in shooting warm-up before the DAL game:
    https://twitter.com/penny10654/status/587509144279613440
It’s possible that Lin himself is okay with not playing in the meaningless last 2 games since he will start a Free Agency soon.

Lin fans can’t wait for the Lakers Tanking experience to be over. Lin was promised a lot of playing time but it never materialized under the watch of Byron Scott. His future will be better served not as a Lakers at least for the next 1-2 years as long as Byron and Kobe presence are looming over as dark clouds over Lakers franchise.

    Keep giving your best, Jeremy!

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I agree here…He may have to take less money to be given a chance on a team that may not be that great, but gives Lin the freedom to run the point as a starter..

Spurs and Golden State will look at him simply as a back-up and no more.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

or maybe Collison and Lin could play some minute together as a 1 point guard line-up…Sacramento probably makes more sense than Denver since it would keep Lin in California.

Also, Lawson would probably be harder for Lin to displace if the coach want a solid back-up point guard…I could see Lin displacing Collison but not Lawson….Unless of course Lawson gets traded.

  • yes, we share the same concern.

Furthermore, Lin will turn 27 this year. This is the chance for him to show that he can be an All-Star in a similar role with Steve Nash.

After he turns 28, there will be fewer teams who considers him to be a potential franchise player. HOU almost gave him that chance before Harden’s unfortunate arrival.

This year is crucial for Lin’s future career in the NBA.
My best scenario would be a reunion of MDA and Lin. They need each other in the NBA to achieve their best potential.

  • It’s hard to evaluate BScott, especially with the tanking scenario.

For example, in a non-tanking scenario any normal coaches would play Lin/Davis lethal combo . But as far as systems, McHale system would still give more min to JLin even as a backup. That’s why IMO he’s slightly better.

BScott’s old 80s system is too outdated and he dislikes PnR which is quite unfathomable since it’s very effective in the NBA

  • that’s even better news!

  • John Lee

For the record, I find 8M – 12M range acceptable.
