G76 CHA @ CLE Game Thread

Jeremy Lin and the Hornets are preparing for the playoff push to secure home-court advantage by reaching the 3rd seed or the 4th seed. Jeremy Lin displayed excellent chemistry with Big Al and Frank Kaminsky by dishing 2 assists to finish with 9pts/6asts/4rebs/1blk/1stl to help the Hornets beat the 76ers in his first game back after the sore lower back sidelined him in the previous game.

  • How would the Hornets play against the Top 2 Eastern teams (Cavaliers and Raptors)? He has been shooting well with 50% FG in the past 5 games so he would definitely be needed to help the Hornets to win
  • Jeremy Lin would need to lead the rebuilt Bench Force 1 with Big Al and Jeremy Lamb but also find ways to finish strong with the starters.

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray JLin continue to hit his stride and carry the momentum to lead to big wins.

  • JoeTeam

how did i end up here ?

  • Phillycheese

Number 1. Remember, no Lin, no win. play Lin 30 min and increase chances of a win.

  • Phillycheese

I hope Lin has a big game.

  • Phillycheese

    Too slow, Joe.

  • Rick Johnson

Kemba has never beaten a LeBron James team in his career. JLin did it first time he started at PG. So let’s start Kemba again.

  • JoeTeam

I mean, I just dropped by and hit it seconds too late. Life’s like that.

  • John Focker

Obviously Hornets prefer insanity over Linsanity.

  • Nice JLin roaring picture as the Big 3 of the Hornets!

Let’s go Jlin! ! ! Spank the Cleveland caverledouches! !!

  • Rick Johnson

Not sure, I don’t hear sound on these GIFs

  • “Mmm.. what is this Linsane feeling that keeps me SmiLin’?” lol

  • I guess SportsCenter doesn’t like Dragic as the Big 3 of the Heat

  • I voted 18pts/4asts as the Hornets will need JLin to try to beat the Cavs on the road

Are the playoff games televised on NBA League pass? Also is the league pass available in Seoul, Korea?

  • guest

The Heat and Boston Celtics are both at 44W 32L yet the Celtics have not officially clinched playoff berth? Why?

  • noob

I’m pretty sure the playoff games are NOT part of the league pass package. All Playoff games are nationally televised here in the US on various channels

  • Rick Johnson

If Chicago wins the rest of their games and Celtics lose the rest of their games Celtics could be out.

  • Rick Johnson
  • Phillycheese

    Who is that with Lin?

  • Phillycheese

Man, those Chinese restaurants in the States (outside of the major cities) look pretty nasty. Cheap $$$.

  • Phillycheese

… to congratulate me for coming in first?

  • noob

Marketing reasons aside, I believe JLin really is the 3rd most important player on this year’s Hornets team. The fortunes of the team does revolve around Kemba, Nic, and Jeremy. JLin has been a critical part of this team and has been directly responsible for several of the teams wins. If JLin wasn’t here the Hornets would be fighting to just get maybe an 8th seed right now.

  • gum

    Thank you!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

In the first press conference introducing J lin is a Hornet he said “we will make the playoff and I mean not to sneak in but actual make the playoff” …..and they did.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I hope the won’t schedule the Hornets on NBAtv.

  • heart

‘Believe’ is the first step towards success!

  • CJSHYY

I really think w/o Lin Hornets will not make it to playoff… of course Batum & Kemba both also contribute a lot but most important it’s from Lin’s game plan idea. W/O that Hornets will not play the way they do right now. That’s why he’s in that big three picture.

  • CJSHYY

So Bulls is not really out of playoff yet?

  • KL

Have to pause now and give some credit to Khuang. Early on he said that Marvin Williams was a better player than Cody Zeller. He also said thay Lin and Al could play together.

    Right on both counts.

Khuang expresses himself in a very bombastic way but I am always noting his predictions and following up on them. The predictions don’t always come through but I look out specifically for predictions based on basketball knowledge.

  • CJSHYY

I remember always only on ABC & ESPN

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Nope but almost impossible.

  • Rick Johnson
  • martan267

Totally agree with you. I’ve been following this site for several years and KHuang has pretty much displayed in depth Basketball know how. I usually found his assessments on players pretty spot on and objective.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I think so too. Small example, lin played with rolled ankle while Batum was out kept them in the playoff picture.

  • Rick Johnson

I want Bulls still fighting for playoff spot because they play MIA Thursday and I want them desperate to beat them. I actually would have preferred Detroit lose to the Bulls to keep the Bulls in it by Thursday so they’ll be more motivated to beat the Heat.

  • CJSHYY

I am really surprised to see Bulls is not in playoff list now? What happened? Their new coach probably will not come back… ??

  • martan267

It just shows how committed he is to winning and going after his goals. And, his doggedness and pure clutchness kept the Hornets from the brink, especially when the “stars” of the team were “injured” and “Charmin soft” Jeremy played with two bad ankles and a sore back.

He just knows how to win and what it would take. That’s why he was comfortable and confident in saying what he said. The guy is just Dragonball steel.

  • sws94

I agree. KHuang is one of my favorite posters.

  • Arsenium12 .

Eric Lu, who sent this tweet, is one of the co-founders of the Jubilee Project. He has a Bachelor’s degree in social anthropology from Harvard and attended Harvard Medical School. He is also a filmmaker. Jeremy has some pretty amazing friends / acquaintances.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

still thinks of the great game.

  • DX

Yes, give the credit before it due. But I am pretty unhappy when he said no team will give Lin offer next season and has marked it.

  • CJSHYY

I like Khuang but not agree w all his comments. I am sure Lin will get the starting job next season. We will see who is right in July. Haha!

  • Brent Yen

No….ALL PLAYOFF games are Natl’ broadcast

  • sws94

I don’t agree but I understand why he says this. Lin almost was out of the league a few years ago and as talented as he is, why couldn’t someone in the NBA say play this guy? Something was very wrong there.

  • Rick Johnson

So no Shaq, Kenny & Charles commentary?

  • CJSHYY

I don’t remember them but saw Magic was on the court side for comments….

  • Rick Johnson

Partly Rose & Butler both need the ball so don’t play well together. Makes me wonder if they trade Rose and bring in JLin will he have the same problem playing with Butler as with Harden and Kobe.

  • DX

Can be put in Basketball book.

  • Brent Yen

    Only Hairsanity please…LOL

  • CJSHYY

What? Butler is like that? I thought Rose got to run O? (Didn’t watch their game that much this season.) I guess bc Butler played better than Rose so team & coach gave Butler the full power to be like Harden & Kobe. If Lin plays well then he maybe can still run O…(If he really go to Bulls…)

  • blueCypher

It will be ESPN , TNT , and NBATV

  • orLinaryjoe

Lin having chinese with teammates. Looks like some fans crashed their meal. Who can resist?

  • Rick Johnson
  • orLinaryjoe

    Her or you, lol?

  • Brewkowski

    Man, she’s a cute.

  • orLinaryjoe

He was wrong last year and will be wrong this year on that prediction. Sure he’s not unhappy about it tho, lol.

  • Rick Johnson

Haven’t watched them first hand that closely. Was just looking through Chicago media to see what’s wrong:

    http://isportsweb.com/2016/03/29/chicago-bulls-can-butler-rose-play-together/

  • blueCypher

I don’t trust that source. It has always been TNT , ESPN , NBATV from 1st round to Conference Finals. Then ABC for the finals. Unless there’s some contract change which I’m not aware of

  • jimmyL

You can say that about a lot of guys. There’s only 30 teams and 15 players a team where 8-10 get legitimate playing time and there are so many people playing basketball they have to be really quick to cut people. Lin was not scouted he wasn’t super athletic or anything undrafted and he only went to Harvard I’d be surpeised if someone gave him a chance out of no where It’s a very competitive league
thats why you always have to look out for yourself no need to try to set up others because they will take ur spot

  • Rick Johnson

    Big Al questionable. Hansbrough time?

    https://twitter.com/HornetsPR/status/716653852523683840

  • Rick Johnson

Or Hawes? Actually I like Frank / Hawes better that Frank / Al. Don’t like that slow post style basketball with Big Al, like passing, movement better though Big Al has been modernizing.

  • LW

Thanks for reminding us with that, those were indeed his words and he fulfilled them!

  • LW

And this is a nice interview for that game.
    https://youtu.be/W2pkEkIZhZU

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    My pleasure, LW.

  • DX

But Hawes has no PnR & D in pain.

  • Linja

    Divisional

  • grover chang

Rose is the leader. Butler past season feels he should be based on still and his contract. I see conflict between butler and Lin for leadership role. Bad fit.

  • Rick Johnson

Hawes has good court vision, good passing, hits the cutter, good inbounder and can hit an occasional 3 pt shot. BF1 seemed more dynamic with Hawes. Cringe when he misses bunnies at the rim JLin sets up for him though.

  • donsmacau

Looks like all just Hornets trainers/staff with JLIN but possibly in the burgundy hoodie is Troy Daniels (hard to tell)

  • donsmacau

The only time past 5 yrs Hornets beat Cavs –Two players did NOT play
    1. Big Al – no matter the loss of AL was picked up by great games from Hawes, Zeller &
    2. Kemba
Unsurprisingly with JLIN at the helm — the bench & starters all contributed Hawes, Lamb, Kaminsky, Batum, Zeller, Marv, MKG, BRob, PJ

Problem with this game is Kemba is the starting PG, recall last game in CLE with Kemba lead playmaker, Lebron didn’t play 4Q and still blowout

  • orLinaryjoe

T can be good. Too bad not even PT to gel with Lin. Maybe outta synch.

  • joyce ward
  • Rick Johnson

That’s helpful. I was thinking Irving would torch Kemba’s poor defense. Lin would have had a big hole to dig out of in the first quarter.

  • Rick Johnson

    And no MKG.

  • donsmacau

Kyrie had an absolute Kembaesque performance against ATL on Friday shooting something like 5-23
    FIVE for TWENTY-THREE
He single handly heroballed the Cavs into a OT game which they should have won in regulation.
Having Kyrie out is not always a bad thing.

  • JoeTeam

Ok, seeing comments below, what I was really going after was for all the emotionally intelligent people and ladies out there … watch the interview. Someone commented 2 days ago that he had no eye contact. Then look at her expression as he walks away. What is she telling all the ladies out there, in the sisterhood? To me, it’s something like this: “hmm … see ladies, this guy is shy; I’m just doing my job.” It’s such a fleeting expression if you watch the end of the vid. That’s what we all look for in great Oscars acting, that very telling look that makes us wonder … and, that’s what separates the emotionally intelligent group leaders from the no so aware. Those people read loud and clear these one second ‘tells’. Those people win at Vegas poker 🙂 People call it intuition, but it’s all there in the interactions we see every day. People are so fascinating.

  • jimmyL

Hawes is trash at least AL makes his shots

  • donsmacau

Al misses plenty of shots and so does Hawes
When Al is off his game, then all he does is clog the drive lanes for JLIN and JLamb and slow game down
Occasionally Hawes gets hot from 3 and he spreads the floor.and has passes Al hasn’t dreamt of.
Both can’t defend the rim much

  • jimmyL

Al makes more shots and hes a better offensive player
Hawes for the most part takes the dumbest shots and miss them all

  • sws94

I guess that means Dellavadova will start? He’s a tougher defender than Kyrie.

  • Lefon Jang

Comparing Cody Zeller to Marvin Williams is like comparing apples to oranges. Cody is a centre whereas Williams is a forward. Lin and Al playing together benefited Al and not Lin. Al posts up, Lin passes the ball to him. Al constantly occupies the paint making it hard for Lin to drive. That’d be the same as saying Hornets and Lin works well. Hornets pays Lin nothing and in return gets a great player who can play the point, SG and defense.

  • donsmacau

Al should make more shots since he’s under the rim but surprising he misses gimme’s all too frequently, though he seems to be getting a bit better AND at not fumbling dishes.

  • Rick Johnson

Al wastes Lin’s skill as a PG. Just dropping the ball of in the post and stand around watching Al post up is so antiquated. Lin has improved on it driving in and dishing but it doesn’t utilize what Lin can bring to a game.

  • HY C

isn’t he voted as the dirtiest player in the league?

  • Rick Johnson

But he doesn’t drive and score like Irving does. Against Kemba week defense and no rim protector Irving could wreak havoc.

  • Dan Ang

He probably acts like that around hotties he likes. If it was me….oooooouuuhh, not telling what I moves I would try.

  • sws94

I agree, mostly it doesn’t benefit Lin. There have been a few times it did like that beautiful pass late in one game earlier in the season he made to secure a victory. I think the team couldn’t get anything going, Lin gets the ball, he drove deep into the paint and made a behind the back pass to Al who faked and then converted it. But, there aren’t enough of those plays and more of the Lin gets it to Al who misses bunnies or does his post moves and misses the shot.

There’s also the occasional give and go where Al finds a cutting Lin. I like that Al, not the Alfense Al so much and he does get in the way,.

Defensively, his help defense is almost non-existent. It was better the last game, but Al is known for poor defense.

  • Rick Johnson

I wish JLin would pair with a larger taller version of Davis. Maybe Embiid?

  • Ben Johnson

JLin won’t have to face against Deledova either, which is definitely a positive…look for a big game from JLin and a poor game from Kemba

  • sws94

I remember him running a solid PnR in the last game. The Hornets could not figure out how to defend it. We’ll see soon if he does that in this game.

  • sws94

    I think 2nd most.

  • Rick Johnson

The Rockets should trade Harden. Here are four trades that work

    http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/rockets-trade-harden-trades-work/story?id=36881518

  • NONONO

Everyone knows Hornets had beat Cavs and could do it again if Lin played PG. Even Clifford knows it. But,…

  • Alain Gervais

Lol they said deangelo russel has superstar potential. Please moving on. Wont happen

  • Alain Gervais

    LInsanity vote for today

  • CJSHYY

NO, Let Harden stays w Morey for the rest of his career. Please also gets Russell to be their starting PG.

KW, Lin was open on your right, why did you pass to Lamb where he’s heavily defended?

  • CJSHYY

  • Ben Johnson

I am really tired of this team

  • heart

hahaha, I know… just posting the question so we can count how many times KW ignores Lin when he’s open.

  • Alain Gervais

    Hawes drops the ball

  • Epie

    Lin with 2 TOs already?

  • CJSHYY

    Ya! This happened….

  • Epie

Yeah, just realized my feed is delayed.. sigh

  • aras

ouch Lin with 2 to already…

  • Alain Gervais

KEmba Led teams suck. He is not a PG

  • heart

Lin was fouled when driving to the basket, but no call. He held his hand afterward. The first one was passed in tight space and Hawes couldn’t catch.

  • jimmyL

    What happened to Lamb

  • Alain Gervais

    50/50 call

  • Alain Gervais

good job clifford, go away from what works… #moronic coaching

  • noob

    C’mon JLin let’s go!!

  • LinMad

when did the deficit happen? Before Lin was in?

  • kauaiblue

    Another one of those games?

  • CJSHYY

He’s not even in charge the O yet…

  • aras

still gets credited to him…he should know by now hawes cant catch a ball in tight spaces….

  • Alain Gervais

    He has no fouls

  • 808JL7

    Why is Al not playing?

  • Alain Gervais

He barely had a chance yet

  • noob

Was already down but deficit grew after Lin came in

  • donsmacau

    Kemba plays entire first quarter

  • Alain Gervais

    injury

  • jimmyL

he only played 2 mins theres gotta be a good reason

  • heart

Yep. MW actually turned the momentum to Cavs when he extended his arms on Love causing an offensive foul and then he tried to dunk but missed badly!

  • kauaiblue

    ok, let’s go!!

  • 808JL7

    Ok thanks

  • CJSHYY

    I know.

  • LinMad

1st round exit if playoffs substitutions look anything like this

  • GameWatcher

CHA always look like they just go over a hang over during afternoon game. Expect another terrible game.

  • sws94

Hopefully when Kemba is off the floor he’ll get it going. Want to see him drive and shoot, draw fouls, that sort of thing gets him going.

  • blubell

    FTs

  • LinMad

    that ref hesitated to whistle

  • Win

I am so sick of those non call that result into a TO.

  • blubell

    Made both

  • aras

the h*** is nic doing giving him the ball with the clock that late… twice now

  • 808JL7

    Lin 2 FT

  • CaliUSMC

    what stream u watchin?

  • Alain Gervais

Lin has no PNR man right now. Hawes and Frank suck. aL atleast was there

  • aras

    LIN COME ON

  • CJSHYY

What’s wrong w these big guys? smh! 3 TO already…

  • noob

Lin is not taking care of the ball

  • kauaiblue

they r so soft and bad!

  • Alain Gervais

Stop passing it to the bigs.

  • jimmyL

Bad pass too strong should have just gone for it

  • kauaiblue

a large part is his incompetent teamates!

  • CJSHYY

    I agree… they didn’t focus.

  • LinMad

Lin was never this bad at PnR until this season when the bigs play more like guards

  • CJSHYY

    Good point.

  • noob

That last pass was too strong

  • aras

im done after that not wasting sleep over this….smh 3 turnovers already

  • heart

According to Cavs commentator, Frank was held off so the timing was off and he couldn’t catch the pass from Lin which caused the third TO for Lin.

  • kauaiblue

that was the exception not the rule

  • Ben Johnson

so, should have been another foul

  • LinMad

    cause Frank wasnt running

  • jimmyL

    He’s so hesitant tonight
not gonna be a good night for him

  • heart

Yep. But ref didn’t call or miss lots foul calls for Hornets.

  • JJ Hui

Cav announcer said Lin is a humble guy, he gave his first class air plane seat to his teamate when he was playing in D-league.

  • Epie

    Good night

  • blubell

    Assist

  • Alain Gervais

    We cant beat this team

  • Alain Gervais

MKG was so importent to beating this team

  • kauaiblue

They gotta give the man respect after he singlehandedly beat their team last game!

  • jimmyL

That’s being too nice people will step all over you

  • kauaiblue

give jlin command and he will move the pieces for victory.

  • heart

So far, what I saw in this stretch was that Lin was directed to set up guys, especially NB to score. He got the left over in lasts seconds where others could not.

  • Alain Gervais

We have to switch to guard lebron. ITs creating havoc

  • GameWatcher

LOL, looks like Lin got hurt his finger making sushi.

  • Alain Gervais

We cant make a shot and we cant stop them. It all starts with lebron

  • kauaiblue

that moron coach is yelling at jlin wen the whole team is terrible!

  • GameWatcher

Did the team missed shooting practice last week?

  • sws94

He’s not yelling at LIn. Geez.

  • LinMad

cliff had somethimg to say to Lin

  • kauaiblue

    looked that way to me.

  • CJSHYY

    Hornets plays bad today… mess.

  • LinMad

    he does single Lin out

  • sws94

They are hitting shots, our good looks aren’t falling. We aren’t in sync. We started off well, but things broke down. Need a big run to get into this. Kemba’s back.

  • cdblue10

    What’s the score guys?

  • Win

Haha. Lin still a scapegoat. AND IS NORMAL for almost in his entire career. Lin ran the offense good, just no one can make open shot.

  • kauaiblue

he took jlin out. the look in jlin’s face. did you watch this or just saying things.

  • kauaiblue

    go cavs!

  • aras

enough he played like crap i would have taken him out as well….he is too hesitant to go for his own thats why he has 3 turnovers

  • GameWatcher

Lin is shooting like crap too… Someone needs to lead the team back.

  • LinMad

shes saying things. oblivious to Lin’s mistreatment all season

  • sws94

Lin wasn’t playing effectively. Sometimes he have to be truthful. Hopefully, Lin has a better 2nd half. When he spoke to Lin he was more just talking, not yelling.

  • Win

The team is out rebounded 26-12. And he he single Lin out and then Lin got sub.

  • kauaiblue

    NO ONE was playing effectively.

  • Alain Gervais

Lebron is runung into the PG’s. Just did it to KEmba. Cliff has to react. Lebron is schooling him right now

  • sws94

Why can’t some fans be truthful? Lin is not having a good game so far.

  • Alain Gervais

    I don’t think he did

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Ok cliff

  • kauaiblue

NO ONE was playing well. but he takes out jlin and yells at him. a pattern.

  • Ben Johnson

Yeah, missing a 30 footer is shooting like crap, get a grip

  • jimmyL

    Lamb in

  • sws94

He has to let the game come to him. He just doesn’t look like the Lin that makes things happen so far. Hopefully, he turns it around 2nd half.

  • sws94

    Marv isn’t playing well?

  • aras

nobody is having a good game so far except marv…but he got subbed when it was 5 min left on the second q so whats the prob?

  • kauaiblue

    bad coaching!

  • Win

Lol. I think so. And is not like Clifford hasn’t done it before.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He likes to single out lin like Clifford always does

  • LinMad

and how does that justify the rest of the team who didn’t score either?

  • LinMad

was Marv in with Lin? NOPE, we’re talking about the lineup that was with Lin. SMH

  • Alain Gervais

LEbron is such a game changer. Without MKG and Lin at PG we have no shot. Not being able to guard lebron messed with our offense

  • golfhacker

Cliff knows Lin won’t be with the team next year, so he doesn’t far yelling at him.

  • LinMad

what about the rest of the team that was with Lin? Like I said you’re singling out Lin just like Cliff did.

  • sws94

I think looking at the score, you have to put in your most effective players to try to get the game more manageable. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Lin so far. That happens. Hopefully Lin gets it going next half.

  • Ben Johnson

Newsflash dude, only Marvin is having a decent game, the rest of the team is sucking

  • aras

he got subbed when it was 5 min left its the usual sub patterns what is the problem? he had 3 turnovers cliff let him play through it whats the prob? its on Lin

  • Win

Lol. He took to shots. TO was also due to non call. But whatever.

  • LinMad

and Marv wasn’t even in with Lin. So she is stretching the facts pretty hard to defend to Cliff.

  • Rick Johnson

What did New York get for Shumpert and JR? If they were just going to tank they should have gotten rid of Melo too. Don’t even have picks to show for it.

  • noob

Agreed. Inability to guard Lebron is creating easy shots for the cavs

  • kauaiblue

this sws woman is very troll like on the other site. the admin here needs to know that.

  • jimmyL

Lin seems like he’s afraid to shoot this game

  • heart

Lin had just 2 attempts. Most of the time he sets up or passes. He himself is not in rhythm and the team is out of sync. Hawes has not been playing for awhile. Cavs are riled up after MW’s offensive foul and missed dunk and they’re playing on their home court.

  • Win

Effectively also depends on his teammates make shots. He got few of his teammates a why open shot but just didn’t fall.

  • LinMad

i dont care, the point is everyone else was playing crap with Lin but Lin was the one who got yelled at only.

  • Alain Gervais

We cant double lebron. Basically pick your poison.

  • Ben Johnson

He has no room to shoot, when he drives past his defender, there are multiple cavs guarding the rim…no one on the team is setting him up for open looks either

  • sws94

This is a game thread. On most game threads people are very in the moment and say things like so and so is playing like garbage. I said nothing that wasn’t respectful but I told it as I saw the game unfold. Lin isn’t having a good game so far.

  • TTNN

    what happen to Lin’s finger?

  • Win

    Disagreed.

  • aras

yep hoping that aswell….hoping he goes for his own….seriously know your personel….hawes and kaminsky suuuuuck inside they cant catch a pass to save their lives…..and kaminsky is just flat out bust so far…Lin goes for his own more he gets a better game.

  • heart

Got fouled but no called when he drove to the basket.

  • Win

    Rebound is the issue!!!

  • sws94

Thanks for the support but some people just do this everytime I post. And I can’t do anything about it. They have to just not do this or it’ll always happen.

  • Alain Gervais

    Agreed

  • LinMad

agreed, why can’t we just permaban

  • sws94

I totally agree. He could have had a few assists. But, in terms of how he’s moving with the ball and getting to his spots, he is not at his best.

  • Epie

    As usual 🙂

  • TTNN

    thank, that’s no good

  • LinMad

but if Cliff is making Lin play with them, he has to play with them. He can’t just iso all game like Kemba when he’s not the franchise player. You are thinking backwards when you blame Lin for trying to create easy buckets for others. That’s not what created Linsanity in the first place. The reason Linsanity was so exciting to watch was because Lin making those great passes to Tyson.

  • TTNN

    Lamb is just unplayable.

  • sws94

I agree. Look for his shot first. That is what sets everything up and gets him going.

  • Ben Johnson

So Lee is gonna play 40 minutes? WHat the heck has he done to deserve that kind of play?

  • jimmyL

    Clifford likes him

  • sws94

I agree. And Lin is one of them. And he’s the subject of this thread.

  • aras

lol…i bet IF cliff yelled at him it was because he was being too passive…If lin does not get it going the game is over already….the second unit is garbage if Lin does not get it going.

  • jimmyL

Lin needs to find a new team if he wants a bigger role like 6th man

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Is S. Ready offering expert opinions or Hornets’ talking points?

  • kauaiblue

    your statement makes no sense.

  • LinMad

Have you even watched the entire season? Cliff has yelled at Lin for 3-4 turnovers a game while not yelling at Batum for having 9-11 turnovers one game. I rest my case.

  • Win

Clifford loves Lee even since they were in Magics.

  • Rick Johnson

    Ya, she’s nauseating

  • sws94

    LeBron is on fire.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    So annoying.

  • kauaiblue

well, clifford is the coach. i.e. not very smart.

  • sws94

Agree, he looks terrible. And hasn’t looked good in any recent game I can remember.

  • kauaiblue

    lol… agreed.

  • Alain Gervais

Cavs just had a good game plan. Thompson just said Hornets are guard heavy team. Which is true. They are dominating our bigs. Thats the game plan

  • sws94

I wonder if he jammed his finger on that foul not called.

  • LinMad

that doesn’t justify you defending Cliff for Lin’s mistreatment.

  • kauaiblue

LinMad is right. Clifford yells at JLIn but ive never seen him yell at batum or walker.

  • sws94

He started out with 2 ugly turnovers. But he’s shooting lights out and he can just do so much so well.

  • aras

i dont except Lin to be on the team this year so i dont care really what cliff does…but i know that they are dependant on Lin getting it going for it to be a chance to win . so far he is not delivering…

  • heart

Yep. I think I heard Thompson said they have to keep KW and Jeremy Lin off the glass, is it right?

  • sws94

I saw him talking to Lin at the TO. Lin is one of the main facilitators on the floor so to me it makes sense to talk to Lin about what was going on.

  • Ben Johnson

didn’t mention anything about the glass, just inferring that those are the 2 that need to be contained

  • kauaiblue

    i still can’t believe bevery was a starter over jlin… unbelievable…

  • Alain Gervais

    yes he did

  • LinMad

Welcome to Cliff’s world. Faves = more time/usage.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

As usual, Kaminsky is 7′ feather, Zeller 7′ with T Rex arms. Hawes the 7′ PG.

  • Win

Just not sure why, he is so bad on defensive end.

  • sws94

I don’t agree with you. And I’m tired of the personal comments. So please, just stop them. All of those doing it. I don’t do it to you and you need to stop doing it to me.

  • Alain Gervais

Thats the point. We need Kemba and Lin grading rebound to keep the rebound number close. They are just taking advantage of every fault the hornets have

  • LinMad

I’m starting to think that the only people here defending sws94 are old perverted guys who think they have a chance at getting her number. I know I’ll probably get banned for this but it was worth it.

  • Alain Gervais

not to mention the failed PNR. If Lin don’t have a respectable PNR man they will all follow Lin

  • sws94

You didn’t specify with or without Lin.

  • aras

    bahahahah dude what the h***…..

  • GameWatcher

    LOL

  • donsmacau

“she” is a “HE” check under his skirt

  • sws94

Lin is key. Pop used to yell at Parker, pretty badly, more than anyone else on the team. Why? He liked Parker, knew Parker didn’t take it personally, and he knew that it worked with Parker. That’s my opinion. And he wasn’t yelling at him anyway.

  • Win

Honestly I disagreed on Lin is a main facilitators in this team. Clifford prefer to let Kemba or Batum as a main facilitators. And Lin TO should be only 2 as one of them was a “No call” TO.

  • kauaiblue

those to’s were not all on jlin… there were mishandling of the pass by hawes, and zeller did not cut as he was supposed to do…

  • sws94

Please stop. Do I call you Kemba? Be respectful.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

question is why is sws94 defending anyone but Lin? ABL

  • LinMad

someone shared that sws94 was a girl and that rumor spread on here

  • Epie

Well, we will miss you LinMad. I remember ghost got perma-banned for saying the same thing. Admins love her for her content contributions.

  • LinMad

on a Lin forum. Makes no sense lol

  • Win

literally you have the same situation on every single game thread. I feel sorry for you. On the other hand the situation is kinda of like Lin’s situation in most of his career.

    🙂

  • Alain Gervais

    This is an obvious insult

  • webattorney

How about young perverted guys? Lol

  • kauaiblue

sws makes very troll like comments on the other site… just fyi… if i get this deleted or banned, fine.

  • aras

    no kiddin sherlock

  • kauaiblue

    only old… lol

  • webattorney

What did S. Ready say? Missed that.

  • sws94

Right. I’m fine on the GM board, they think I’m not controversial at all. Only on 2 Lin boards am I controversial. I’m not into it. I’m just another poster.

  • webattorney

    That’s discrimination. Lol

  • Alain Gervais

Big man on the internet congratulation

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • sws94

move on. I disagree about the mistreatment so let’s be cordial, agree to disagree, and that’s that.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

first half starters played too much and it’s the kemba show. this is clifford showcasing him just like how its gonna be like in the playoffs unfortunately

  • donsmacau

“Players NOT involved in the offense over time – tend not to be so involved in the defense either” – David Thorpe
“Jeremy plays point guard with a rhyme and a reason” – Mike D’Antoni

Kemba plays with no rhyme and no reason, he does not make sure all of his squad is involved in the offense much less even touch the ball.

Predition LEBRON sits out 4Q again in blowout.

  • kauaiblue

    reverse?

  • Win

Haha. I see. Personally I hate the GM board. To me there a lot of bias there so. Anyway lets enjoy the rest of the game. Hope Hornets comeback and win!

  • sws94

On the 2nd unit, it is Lin and Batum. Both facilitate. On the first unit, Lin is a 4th option and not that active IMO.

  • LinMad

yep it was but I didn’t really call anyone’s name out and i”m okay with getting temporarily banned for this.

  • sws94

Agree about the TO. Lin just needs to sometimes shoot rather than pass to poor catching guys like Hawes and Kaminsky.

  • aras

how is me saying no kiddin sherlock being a big man?

  • Win

Thanks for the insult. I have had worst at other forum when I defending Lin. So I am used to it.

    :p

  • LinMad

Kemba, Kemba, Lee, Lee, Batum, Batum

  • heart

During that stretch, didn’t it seem like he was just there to pass or set up NB to score? Like I said, this is a redemption game for NB or KW to show that they can win over Cavs themselves, but instead of involving Lin in the offense, he’s being left out…

  • Alain Gervais

Well w.e. It don’t mater. hopefully Lin plays better the second haif

  • aras

what made you feel you had too write it though? why pervert part,,,,,looool

  • webattorney

I thought she liked Lin? Well, to be fair, they are starters.

  • cdblue10

Kemba can’t breAk that record ,sadly not winning against any Lebron team.

  • kauaiblue

she always says “ive never seen anyone get hit in the face as much as jlin” like in a mocking way… how about defending your player, s. readie, you are an announcer for hornets, the team jlin is on…

  • sws94

Amazing, what is with posting about me. It’s distracting. It’s a game thread. Lin does great, I say so. If he doesn’t, I say so. That’s a normal game thread.

  • Win

Beside. I am not defending her opinion. I believe Clifford has misused Lin period.

But it just that all of you should let other poster post his/her comments as well.

  • Alain Gervais

ill delete it lets move on. Theres a game going on

  • heart

So predictable w/her… Turn to mute then.

  • webattorney

I think Dell also said that.

  • Win

Ooooo. And Mod is ok with all these personal attacks? If so you are no different then other forum like CF, GM, etc.

  • LinMad

I don’t believe Kemba can carry his team to beat a top team in the NBA. They can give Kemba 30 points but they know he will not allow others to shoot and CHA loses.

  • kauaiblue

who was the nice lady who was nice when interviewing jlin as a laker?

  • sws94

Relatively speaking, it’s much better than the GM board when he was a Laker. More guys are fair. As a Rocket too, more guys against him. So, I’m ok with that board.

  • kauaiblue

Blue, this is not a coincidence!

  • webattorney

She was cute as well. Seemed like half Asian to me. Hopa.

  • TTNN

I think this is cross the line. You better stop this personal attack.

  • Epie

Nah.. this thread will be deleted most likely, they are just not on.

  • sws94

Misused, yes. Lin could be used much better than Clifford uses him.

  • LinMad

that pretty white girl? I mean that blond bombshell.

  • Alain Gervais

They are making our bigs look like Swish cheese

  • aras

if there is anyone cliff has been mistreating its Lamb no question he has pulled out any confidence in him and thrown it in acid.

  • kauaiblue

the difference is that dell curry’s comments and tone are supportive of jlin, but s. readie is always dismissing jlin’s good play or making dumb comments like the hit in the fact comment in a mocking way.

  • cdblue10

Definitely he can’t,he will be the liability of this team come playoff time because he can’t guard anyone and he can easily be guarded

  • sws94

Batum not starting second half? Must be an injury or he doesn’t fell well.

  • Whitman Lam

Hornets have no answer for teams with superior size inside.

  • Win

I surely hope so. I don’t wanna get all these personal when I post a different opinions.

And Clifford is still not a smart coach period!!!!!!!!!

  • Alain Gervais

lol agreed but he deserves it

  • sws94

Yes. And maybe he used to mistreat PJ.

  • kauaiblue

Yes, she is so cool compared to s. readie…

  • TTNN

    strange

  • LinMad

no you go out to defend Cliff and everyone else besides Lin. I know Lin isn’t playing well. But so was his entire team. That’s where you got it wrong.

  • Alain Gervais

    non what so ever

  • sws94

I don’t think Cliff’s approach of Lamb is effective. Lamb does need to improve a lot.

  • kauaiblue

heh hehe… hornets cannot win without jlin at the helm…

  • Whitman Lam

Charlotte bigs have been looking weak all year. Playing Frank and Hawes extended minutes just makes it worse.

  • Whitman Lam

    She wasn’t a tool either.

  • Alain Gervais

He had these issues wit doc. Has the size for good defense but just has a ton of lapses

  • webattorney

I don’t think Hornets can beat Cavs in a playoff series whoever starts.

  • Ben Johnson

yup…Walker can’t do jack crap against a good team

  • TTNN
  • sws94

I guess we’ll hear soon what’s going on with him.

  • Epie

    lol

  • sws94

    Good point.

  • webattorney

I thought remainder for the season. Lol

  • Whitman Lam

    CRAP!

  • Rick Johnson

    Hornets got lazy playing 76ers.

  • sws94

No. And no MKG matters a lot against this team.

  • Ben Johnson

    Then why isn’t JLin playing???????????

  • Alain Gervais

    Batum benched???

  • kauaiblue

you move on… geesh, you’re the one that started it, remember?

  • sws94

    That explains it. Thanks TTNN.

  • LinMad

MKG was the only big I really liked. And I knew nothing about him before this season. That short run he had was all I needed to see what CHA was missing.

  • Whitman Lam

    Injured his knee. Not good.

  • Win

    Hurt

  • Alain Gervais

    ohh lol wow missed that

  • sws94

    Injured. See tweet below.

  • webattorney

Only way for Hornets to beat Cavs is for Kemba to run hard into LeBron’s crotch.

  • Alain Gervais

    oh boy

  • sws94

    lol

  • Alain Gervais

    thx

  • kauaiblue

they got a shot with jlin… never count that boy out…

  • webattorney

Lol Half serious. Take one for the team. Lol

  • Win

Yup. MKG was the one who stop James when Hornets beat the Cavs.

  • Alain Gervais

    thx missed the tweet

  • Alain Gervais

    Cavs dominating our bigs

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • LinMad

Cliff coaching resulted in a starter getting injured before playoffs. That’s Cliff for you. You shouldn’t run your starters to the ground when your reserves are all rested.

  • cdblue10

He could be the 6th man and humbly accept that role for them to have a chance

  • Win

It means more time from Lin hopefully.

  • kauaiblue

he can’t let jlin repeat what happened last time and against the spurs…

  • LinMad

I just pictured him running into his crotch without crouching cause he’s that short.

  • webattorney

Even if Kemba says he wants to backup, coach and MJ will not agree. It’s not his fault.

  • webattorney

I never said Kemba had to crouch. Lol

  • Alain Gervais

    hahahahahahahaha. Cuncussion warning

  • webattorney

I thought we should have a good laugh. Lol

  • aras

BREAKING NEWS LIN LEAVING THE GAME TO JOIN THE SPURS!

  • cdblue10

    True

  • kauaiblue

he’s too short to run into his crotch!

  • cdblue10

Nope Cliff traded to Spurs with Pop

  • heart

NB left the game w/ knee strained.

  • webattorney

Zeller so white it hurts my eyes to look at him.

  • Rick Johnson

    This one?

    Kristine Leahy

  • Win

Off topic. Anyone wants Rockets lost to OKC? 🙂

  • webattorney

I would LOVE to see Crotch guy not have as many members. Lol

  • jimmyL

    Nah OKC is annoying

  • kauaiblue

no, i’ll have to look it up, but she was always so nice to him and smiling and happy to talk to him… i’ll get her name… i liked her, but i don’t like s. readie… thanks tho, i’ll look up Ms. Leahy!

  • Alain Gervais

    Thats racist

  • Win

Yea. But Lin really have less than 5 mins a game to be a facilitator = PG. Cliff just don’t believe in Lin a pg.

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • kauaiblue

    Go Cavs!

  • LinMad

are u sure it’s not his right toe again?

  • Ben Johnson

YOu reap what you sow, cliffie

  • kauaiblue

I want cavs to win today…

  • LinMad

Lee is 25 minutes in with 4 pts…how in the world is this coach allowing it? Bench are ice cold now. I think they should just play the starters the rest of the game.

  • webattorney

He looks like he had no sun in his entire life.

  • Ben Johnson

every single possession Kemba is getting a pick

  • cshot

lol ikr? lin never get that lol

  • kauaiblue

    bs call… lol

  • Win

Yup. But not when Lin is a PG.

  • webattorney

    Nose pick?

  • cdblue10

There’s a good lesson here for MJ and Cliff,Kemba and Batum can’t win against the big bad wolves of the NBA but Lin and BATUM can give them a run for their money.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin in soon

  • LinMad

    Kemba getting superstar calls

  • Win

Well. Finally Kemba get some calls too.

  • kauaiblue

    that’s illogical… lol

  • webattorney

Kemba dribbled so quickly that he lost the ball.

  • Win

Hopefully another Lin Sanity performance from now on.

If Clifford allow him to .

  • kauaiblue

they wouldve called a flagrant on jlin for that play… lol

  • kauaiblue

    oh no, hawes…

  • sws94

He was ball hogging, I didn’t like that play whatsoever. He had a man open for seconds.

  • kauaiblue

    ball hog…

  • LinMad

Idk, bad performances usually happen when he gets yelled at by Cliff.

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba playing great right now

  • kauaiblue

everyone is just going to stand around and watch… this guy walker does not have vision…

  • heart

I thought I heard it. Scroll down below there’s a tweet confirming it.

  • sws94

He scores well but, I don’t know, would love to see him hit the trailer rather than taking it himself there.

  • webattorney

Kemba is balling. So is JR.

  • kauaiblue

well, when you are given the perpetual green light, it’s bound to happen.

  • Win

    His shots are falling.

  • kauaiblue

a broken clock is right at least 2x a day!

  • LinMad

When Lin has more minutes than Lamb and Hawes but no one else…can’t expect a big impact /facepalm

  • webattorney

Don’t mind Kemba taking over this game when Lin is missing pretty much everything.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin has to get in the game

  • jimmyL

Why is Lin leaving JR so open
    I dont get it

  • LinMad

0/3 is nothing, give him 12 shots at least

  • joyce ward

    Stop the drama…smh

  • kauaiblue

well, i would normally agree. however, this pattern of letting walker do whatever he wants and shackling jlin rubs me the wrong way.

  • sws94

I don’t know. He wants to get an angle on the rebound or draw a charge but you can’t leave JR open. Just can’t.

  • Ben Johnson

missing a 30 footer and 2 mid ranges, oh no

  • webattorney

Great pass by Kemba there to Hawes.

  • Whitman Lam

Coach is telling him to stuff the paint on every drive.

  • Win

Ehh. Lin is only – 0-3. Plus he doesn’t get the call when he drive into the basket.

  • Alain Gervais

    True

  • Ben Johnson

I’ll give props to his good passes, too bad they’re so infrequent

  • jimmyL

It seems like he does that on every team

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Stephanie is very good, she never missed the opportunity to cheap shot at Lin.

  • Rick Johnson

Can’t take Ready anymore. Have to switch to Cav’s feed.

  • LinMad

and he’s played the 3rd least minutes on the team.

  • jimmyL

Yep he does that on every team
Im starting to think thats just him leaving his man open

  • Alain Gervais

Lin jas to get it going. Has nothing today

  • Whitman Lam

He wasn’t doing that in the 1st half. Cliff must have switched to a zone defense.

  • cshot

cant watch the game. whats stephanie saying now lol? shes super annoying

  • webattorney

He did miss everything, no? Lol I think his shooting is off today.

  • heart

What did she say? I muted her before and now listening to Cavs feed.

  • kauaiblue

i know. she said jlin needs to know who he is guarding when jr smith hit 2 shots. she never says anything when walker’s man light him up…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You want Lin to spend all day with JR or help the lane?

    He can’t do both.

  • Whitman Lam

    EXACTLY !

  • webattorney

    Shocked me.

  • adele

    Law of averages.

  • LinMad

DID YOU SEE KEMBA’S PASS TO HAWES. IT WAS AT THE RIGHT ANGLE AND VELOCITY.

It looked like a normal pass to me.

  • Alain Gervais

    2fts

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin just got in the game but he should know the shooter, JR Smith.

  • Win

I thought they wasn’t gonna call that. Smh.

  • aras

couple more games and some playoff games and Lin is gone. i hope at least.

  • kauaiblue

lol… she does her job well

  • cdblue10

    Lol,I think she likes him..

  • kauaiblue

    cant guard that.

  • Win

    Is the big gotta rotate.

  • Epie

All she had to say “Jeremy Lin…” “got hit again”

  • Alain Gervais

JR going off on Lin dam

  • webattorney

I feel Linsanity about to come.

  • cshot

JR can go off on anybody. its just one of those nights lol. one of the streakiest scorers ever

  • jimmyL

All day with JR hes hot

  • Win

Every time Lin have a TO, Cliff smh. Sigh… No future in Hornets for sure.

  • aras

you sure man? cuz i dont see shiiiiz

  • LinMad

ok bench Lin, refs are working together to take Lin out.

  • Guest

Where is he going ? Stay with Hornets and ask for a big raise.

  • Whitman Lam

Refs really hate Lin. Look at that ridiculous JR Smith Flop after he SHOVED Lin.

  • webattorney

IT’s called delusional. You have to be delusional to be a Lin fan.

  • kauaiblue

does hawes purporsefully miss jlin’s assists?

  • LinMad

so many passes from Lin but Hawes can’t finish

  • Rick Johnson

    Come on Hawes!

  • Win

I have a feeling Lin gonna get sub soon….

  • kauaiblue

    s. readie gonna say excellent defense from lee, that’s why jr smith missed it from 35 feet!

  • LinMad

    what’s new?

  • Alain Gervais

Sometime player have you number for the day its ok

  • Alain Gervais

Lin gonna get it going now

  • LinMad

Stay with Hornets and ask for a new coach after getting a big raise

  • donsmacau

Last time Batum out for the Toronto RAPTORS…
… JLIN got the start and primary playmaking duties — and the WIN

This time Batum out and Steve Clifford will start Frank Kaminsky lolol

  • webattorney

You talking about yourself? I was serious. You have to be willing to go against the normal perspective to be a Lin fan.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

JR Smith still has bad blood for Linsanity.

  • aras

oh boy if you was being serious then its even worse…

  • Epie

I think 1st shot is really important for Lin. I noticed when Lin gets his 1st shot either blocked or end up as a TO, he starts to hesitate and takes some time to recover from it. Just an observation.

  • webattorney

I wasn’t trolling; you just perceived it that way. I meant that you have to have a view that goes against the normal accepted view to be a Lin fan. IN that sense, delusional.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Lin has to be aware that when he’s guarding a 3 point shooter, he can’t do too much help-defense by slagging off his man.

JR Smith is a good 3point shooter and he needs to stay close to him instead of leaving him open to do help-defense.

  • Whitman Lam

Difficult game to watch. As soon as Hornets cut the lead down to 8 pts. The refs start cheating to bring the Cavs back.

  • webattorney

I will stop posting for today. Lol

  • kauaiblue

    jr smith is a loser.

  • MEL LIN

why are we talking about Lin if he didn’t play in this game. 10 mins the rest garbage time.

  • Win

You are to me. So I will ignore your post from now on. Have a nice day!

  • LinMad

Cliff clearly shows his anger at Lin when he does bad but he doesn’t do that to anyone else. You can read Cliff like a book when it comes to Lin missing shots or getting a turnover or losing his guy on defense.

  • cdblue10

Need to waive the white flag.

  • BobbyH

Looks like Walker is going to play straight to the end.

  • LinMad

wow I haven’t seen Hawes do that in a long time.

  • kauaiblue

absolutely. you have to be oblivious not to see this.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin cant get to the rim its the big issue right now

  • kauaiblue

Good recipe for a loss. He can score, but he can’t pass or play good defense.

  • Rick Johnson

Cav’s announcer “doing go job of keeping Lin out of the paint, he was carving them up in Charlotte”

  • LinMad

no one setting up screens for him.

  • aras

alright terrible game im off now bye have a good on peeps

  • Win

Yup. It has been like that the entire season.

  • Alain Gervais

Defense are already dropped back as soon as he touches the ball. Why Lin shot the three

  • Whitman Lam

Lin’s jumpshot is so broken right now. He hasn’t had any open shots to get into a rhythm.

  • Alain Gervais

    Both threes was wide open

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin is playing none urgency mode.

  • Whitman Lam

One was from 40 feet away.

  • LinMad

huh? can you retype for me so it makes sense?

  • Win

Doing a great job by making the ref not to call foul on Lin’s drive.

  • webattorney

He has to have someone in his face for him to make them.

  • Alain Gervais

The defense is set waiting for Lin to drive

  • Alain Gervais

agreed the second was wide open

  • LinMad

    is this on national tv?

  • kauaiblue

They had front row seats to the “show.”

  • LinMad

at least Lin can get to the line. nvm they aren’t in bonus

  • Win

lol. I thought they wasnt gonna call that again.

  • Alain Gervais

Cavs defending Lin great right now

  • LinMad

it looks like the refs actually think about blowing the whistle when Lin gets fouled. Like will this be too embarrassing for us if we dont’ whistle? ok, i’ll whistle.

  • HVJoy

    only 4 shot attempts?

  • webattorney

    Shut him down good.

  • Win

    Finally get some call.

  • blubell

CLE color commentator is putting down Jeremy every chance he gets. Geez

  • Good to see Kemba looked to pass to JLin in a fastbreak

  • LinMad

their defense plan is to foul him if he drives in and hope the refs don’t whistle.

  • HVJoy

    No

  • LinMad

    what he say?

  • cshot

comon jeremy u can do this

  • heart

Did Lebron trip Lin on an earlier putting his foot out in Lin’s path, and now hard foul Lin when he was making a layup?

  • kauaiblue

REally? he shredded them last time… pick on the asian guy…

  • Whitman Lam

THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN OFFENSIVE FOUL ON SHUMPERT !!!

  • sws94

Lin’s getting hit hard. Hope that he doesn’t throw something off in his back. I think the back is ailing him today.

  • webattorney

    I bet he was black?

  • Alain Gervais

    22222222

  • HVJoy

very annoying. He was silent with nearly all
    TO’s except Lin’s.

  • Win

    Yes!!!

  • LinMad

    222222222222222

  • JLin reverse layup!! 222
    81-89 now

  • cshot

    cmoncmon cmon jeremy!

  • LinMad

    that was a foul

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Kemba plays very well today.

Btw, Cliff gave Lee 5 on his way back to the bench. Ever seen that on lin?

  • heart

    No foul call again, SMH!

  • webattorney

Uh, uh. Now, prepare for the Linsanity II.

  • Whitman Lam

    THESE NO-CALLS ARE OUTRAGEOUS !!

  • Hornets did a great job with defensive rebounding in the last 3 possesions

  • kauaiblue

that was such a foul. i hope silver got that letter.

  • LinMad

Maybe we need to send more videos to Adam Silver

  • Win

Yea. And there was few of those in the 1st half.

  • LinMad

    big 3 by Hawes

  • kauaiblue

hawes makes everything walker gives to him… lol

  • heart

Watch Ref #26 or Ref #46. These two have been biased towards Lin. Either no call or phantom foul against Lin!

  • Win

Damn Cavs are hitting 3s today.

  • kauaiblue

    nice shot by mw…

  • Lin asked Frank to not leave KLove twice .. but Frank was too far

  • kauaiblue

I hope silver got that letter. this is such bs…

  • LinMad

    ya saw him signal it

  • Alain Gervais

This game is like a playoff game feel.

  • he knew Love was the danger in that play

  • LinMad

it better not cause Lin would need more shots or we’ll be first to exit

  • kauaiblue

Anyone keeping track of JLin’s pts, assists, etc.?

  • TTNN

    yeah, saw that too

  • TTNN

    8pts

  • Alain Gervais

Games like this is good. Watch tape Learn how to break it down

  • webattorney

Seemed like it. Gotta see it again to be sure.

  • LinMad

If Lin had same shot attempts and minutes as Lee, he would have 16 pts. We might have been tied or up by now.

  • Hornets did a great job rebounding limiting Cavs 2nd opportunities.

They just need JLin and Kemba to keep driving inside to open up 3pt shooters.
    Need to set multiple screens

  • Whitman Lam

No, but I’ve seen at least 3 non calls when he drives to the rim.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Not if you’re listening to Hornets feed. Missed dell

  • LinMad

Cliff should have played Lin more cause Lin was drawing fouls even though majority of them were not called

  • Win

How can you let Love get a offensive board???

  • Alain Gervais

    333333333

  • Win

    3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LinMad

    333333333333

  • Lin for 333333333333
    DEEEEEEP 3!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    And 1111111

  • LinMad

    HAHAHAHA

  • LinMad

    fouled on Lin?

  • HAHAHA… Love fouled Lin as Lee made long 2
    1 FT!

  • KWC

So double digits in a “bad game”. Not so bad after all.

  • blubell

haha. the color commentator…. silent after that 3 lol

  • Win

    Go Hornets!!!

  • 92-96!!!!
    LET’S GO, JLin!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    22222222

  • Win

    yes!!!!

  • LinMad

    2222222222222222

  • Win

    Mr. 4th Qtr!

  • WHOAA….. JLin put a move… Fadeaway J!!!
    2222222!

  • blubell

    woohoooooo!!

  • Alain Gervais

    Zeller whhyyyy

  • sws94

Magic. Magic has come back to LIn.

  • Win

    Rrrrrrrr. Zeller….

  • LinMad

Lin can’t rely on the bigs

  • CaliUSMC

as soon as i tuned in Lin drained that 2 on love..
    perfect timing

  • Alain Gervais

Our bigs is our down fall

  • Alain Gervais

    nope

  • sws94

Bigs don’t seem ready for Lin’s passes.

  • Win

Damn Cavs’s 3 really killing the Hornets. 🙁

  • kauaiblue

    what’s new?

  • blubell

and there goes the color commentator bashing Jeremy… smh

  • cdblue10

Shut up dude,if you wanna troll,do it intelligently.

  • Win

Lin’s need Tyson or Ed Davis.

  • Alain Gervais

    *Bigs

  • CaliUSMC

what has batum been doing all game???????????

  • LinMad

from 4 points back to 10 points like that.

  • sws94

I like the comeback. Their 3s kept them ahead. Lin big points in the 4th.

  • blubell

    lol

  • Good try to pass to Zeller inside but he wasn’t ready at all
    Need more chemistry

  • LinMad

how about a name so we can all tweet to him

  • Whitman Lam

Lin … just throw a very slllloooowww bounce pass to the bigs, they are not Tyson Chandler.

  • Alain Gervais

Im so pissed eat the bigs

  • sws94

He’s out the 2nd half with a knee strain.

  • heart

Hawes and Zeller caused Lin made two unnecessary turnovers today.

  • sws94

Maybe that would be better for them.

  • LinMad

that’s risky but it might work cause these bigs are not used to PnRs. Ed Davis and Tyson Chandler made it look easy.

  • Alain Gervais

Bigs cant defend cant post cant PNR

  • kauaiblue

Just shoot it… stop looking to pass!

  • HVJoy

    True!

  • Cavs making 3s with Love and JR
This will be hard to comeback unless Hornets stop them

  • Whitman Lam

They need to practice catching passes. It looks like Zeller was only looking to get a rebound.

  • LinMad

    might have to

  • dave lam

turned out to be a pretty exciting game

  • aras

GOD DAMNIT I CANT SLEEP GOTTA WATCH….and lin has 14 points WOOO….seriouslt Look for your own lin stop it with these passes to the bigs SCREW EM!

  • golfhacker

Lin has to yell at the bigs to have their hands ready for the pass.

  • webattorney

    Austin Carr, I believe.

  • Marvin huge 3
    97-104!!

  • LinMad

bigs getting beat by PnR and can’t PnR themselves.

  • blubell

    yes

  • KWC

    Game over

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • webattorney

    Game over.

  • LinMad

Not that bad considering Batum didn’t play…and Lin barely got to play. I think Lin needs more minutes and shots. Lee shouldn’t have this many minutes.

  • Alain Gervais

i agree Lin showed up. Bigs didn’t

  • Epie

Or call their name before he throws to them.and wait for 10-4

  • Whitman Lam

Hornets have nobody who can defend Lebron on the PnR.

  • KWC

CHA bigs are soft like charmin

  • What happened to Batum?

  • Whitman Lam

Sprained his knee in the 1st half.

  • Alain Gervais

    Knee sprained

  • kauaiblue

    soft and bad.

  • golfhacker

    Campy Russell.

  • aras

These The charlotte tall skins should not be allowed to be called big mens…Kobe would probably murder all 3 of them.

  • LinMad

Lin can but game is over. I don’t think he wants to hurt his back.

  • oh man 🙁 .. hope he’s okay

  • kauaiblue

just want our boy to get more points.

  • LinMad

what? I saw the replay and it hit the Cavs last.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Zeller daydream ended the momentum

  • KWC

These 7fters don’t want to get in the paint and play physical so they stay outside and pop pop pop. And they are not particularly good at it.

  • LinMad

    make it rain 3s

  • Win

Can’t really rebound or box out neither.

  • LinMad

been saying it all season. They are playing like guards but we already have too many guards on this team.

  • Hornets big men certainly don’t play big
    Outrebounded 35-45

  • Whitman Lam

Hornets made a great run in the 4th Q, but just can’t stop Lebron from scoring with ease.

  • Promo Sports World

    Bigs are a struggle defensively

  • LinMad

What killed us was 1st quarter when we were down by 10. Rest were pretty good quarters, we just haven’t caught up.

  • They definitely need MKG to make it tough for LeBron

Hornets big men will be the weakness in the playoff

  • guest

    They should have started Lin.

  • Promo Sports World

One of the few dudes that can match size strength and speed

  • LinMad

that should be have been a turnover, that seem like 6 seconds

  • HVJoy

    missing Batum too

  • Alain Gervais

    and offensively

  • yes, a big miss without Batum

  • joyce ward

Yep, lin should have started. Spurs, Cleveland win games lead by lin, the Bigs had np problem being where there were suppose to be. When they stand around and watch KW shoot for 3 quarters and not pass the ball, then the team loses.

  • LinMad

how did that happen? WHY would you leave someone open at basket?

  • Alain Gervais

How is Jr running straight to the Rim

  • Win

game over. Have a great rest of the day guys and girls!

  • How was JR so open twice?

  • Alain Gervais

    What is Lee doing

  • jimmyL

    Low BBIQ

  • LinMad

I noticed that this team sucks at inbounds too. Only Lin knows where to be at during inbounds.

  • I think he lost JR that time

  • Vincent

Man we really coulda used al jefferson this game

  • zxcvb

    Keys to the Loss:

    1) Lin was iced out for 3 quarters. Beasted in the 4th, but not enough.
    2) Incompetent bigs. Can’t catch a pass, can’t defend a PnR. Worst frontcourt in the NBA.
    3) Cavs were on fire from 3. Not much you can do with JR swishing.

  • Whitman Lam

Al would’ve gotten burned by KLove and Frye like last time.

  • joyce ward

I counted this game as loss anyway. Cliff better get smart and let lin run this offense, because if he doesn’t they will be out in the first round.

  • Alain Gervais

Yea he misses dunks but atleast he catches the ball

  • Alain Gervais

    *Dunks

  • zxcvb

Only 3 elite wins this season are ALL Lin-led. Kemba is just a statpadder. Can’t beat any great team with him dominating the ball. Proven time and time again. Only Lin can lead this team anywhere.

  • LinMad

he’s been dunking the last game he played. I think he caused an earthquake.

  • vincent

True but lin would have 3 less turnovers lol

  • Alain Gervais

    lol yea

  • Pretty good game that the Hornets can almost go toe-to-toe with a full squad of Cavs while missing Batum/Big Al

  • Alain Gervais

    agreed

  • Whitman Lam

The NBA would not want to see the lowly Hornets beat the Cavs at home anyway. Ref calls very biased tonight.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Yes he is.

  • grover chang

    Where is batum?

  • cdblue10

Everything will be wrong with the line up if you start Kemba against teams like Cavs,Atlanta Boston and Miami.

  • LinMad

KW can get 30+ points but in the end his teammates will be half asleep and can’t catch balls

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba did good today

  • guest

Clifford should have pulled Kemba in the 4th to rest and then bring him back in. Shouldn’t have listened to Kemba telling him he’s alright to stay in. Jeremy didn’t get the chance to fully run the offense.

  • LinMad

ya I think Lin should have got on the line at least another 3 times today

  • Alain Gervais

Hornets have to get a big man next season. Biggest flaw they have. An athletic one would be great

  • zxcvb

Honestly, I thought officiating was fine tonight.

Not enough Lin involvement and awful Hornets froncourt was the problem. Same as always!

  • NONONO

I do not need to watch the game to know the result – Hornets could not beat Cavs, Spurs and Toronto without Lin playing PG!

  • LinMad

trade MKG, he’s too injury prone

  • KWC

Enjoyed being #3 for a few hours.

  • unfortunately we know Cliff will only try to win with Kemba/Batum as the main playmakers knowing JLin might leave in the off-season

JLin would be the insurance like in this game when Batum was hurt

  • Alain Gervais

    MKG guarded Lebron well though

  • NONONO

    WITHOUT

  • LinMad

Lin should have had at least 30+ minutes today.

  • donsmacau

    And Boom!

This drops Hornets from 3rd to 6th in playoff seeding

  • NONONO

    Kemba should have 0

  • zxcvb

Only for himself. He hit shots but didn’t involve his teammates. Notice how the game only got close when Lin got involved. Within 4pts with only 1 quarter of Lin getting looks!

  • grover chang

He normally does good because he is a good player. The inherent problem with walker is he is a SG playing pg. The team will always be off balance playing him as their pg.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin did great. A playoff feeling game. Great game to get ready for the playoffs

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Cliff trained Zeller so well on focusing getting rebounds from Kemba’s misses, instead of ready for a pass and easy dunk.

  • sws94

Cavs let teams back in. I’m not sure about them. not all of their 3 point shots will fall like they did today. Contain Smith and others I think, let Kyrie and LeBron carry the load. Lin’s offense better if bigs can get on the same page, a lot of miscommunication and outright fumbling today. I think Lin’s back wasn’t there but he went off of adrenaline in the 4Q and some of the magic appeared in him.

  • grover chang

Psycho T sitting there. Talent wasted

  • cdblue10

Seeding won’t matter since 3 to 7 have almost the same winnings

  • heart

Nope… Lin got fouled at least two to three times but no calls. He got one phantom foul.

  • NONONO

Trained Lee and Lin so well to cover Kemba’s famous weak defense

  • Alain Gervais

    agreed

  • KWC

    And Rox could win today

  • zxcvb

He was 0-3, 4pts when frozen out for 3 quarters. 3-6, 10pts when actively involved.

Got the lead down to 4pts but awful Hornets bigs can’t defend or catch passes.

  • Alain Gervais

    yup

  • takemeback2reaganyears

and assists from missed open shots

  • Alain Gervais

He also adjust well to Cavs great defense

  • zxcvb

He’s used to that though! Nothing out of the ordinary.

  • HVJoy

Also, Hornets were missing Batum in 2nd half.

Lin’s FGA was 9 only for 26 min. I would like to see him shooting more.

  • sws94

They have a lot of work to do. Clifford needs to step it up and study the film. Lin solid 4Q but as the game went on I think more and more his back was bothering him most of it.

  • LinMad

he got to the line a lot which is good way to get people in foul trouble. Cliff should utilize him better.

  • Steppen03

So close… Good game by JL7 -just wish he got 2 less TO.

  • sws94

That was good to see. I agree.

  • Alain Gervais

Cavs were focused on keeping Lin from driving the fact he still got it going and adjusted shows his improvement as a player. Good job by Cliff for allowing him to find his game Mchale would of benched him .

  • LeBron said it was fun when everyone got the ball
    Cavs had more assists (34-23)

I wonder if not having Kyrie Irving helped

  • NONONO

i wish he had10 more mins playing PG too

  • zxcvb

Yawn. Incompetent bigs are responsible for 3 TOs. Besides, who cares? Only points matter when you come off the bench. Curry had 9 TOs last game btw.

  • sws94

I was happy with that 2nd mid-range jumper he shot. That’s something Lin has been working on and will need when the “pack the paint Lin defense” is utilized. Shoot them enough and in motion and rhythm, some will fall.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

didn’t watch the game but checked on the boxscores at the half and again now. so, kemba shot poorly at the half but ended up with 9-19 shooting. did he took the liberty of padding his stats in the 4th quarter while everyone else was trying to make a come back? am i wrong?

  • Sophie Paris

Game got pretty close only 4 pts at 4th Quarter…. but too late. It was a good game doh

  • Sophie Paris

    Boo

  • sws94

Cavs hitting 3 pointers won them the game. But they are vulnerable to letting leads slip away.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin has double assists number in Houston than in Charlotte.

  • LinMad

more like 3rd quarter when Lin was out and Batum was out cause of injury, it was stat padding time.

  • zxcvb

Terrible CHA bigs are largely to blame. Get destroyed on every PnR, so guards have to help off the wings — BANG. Threes. JR and Love were unusually hot, though.

  • Alain Gervais

More open and Fast break team . Charlotte is not that type of offense

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

LBJ expressed his concern about Kyrie shooting 29 times and getting just 1 assists a couple weeks ago

  • guest

Hornets bench: 28pts – Jeremy Lin 14pts, 27min. Cavaliers bench: 21pts. – Iman Shumpert 8pts, 32min. Lin Got His! Defense and Bigs lost this one.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

stat padding time starts right at tipoff! LOL

  • Steppen03

Just reading stat sheet, did not watch… But still… It’s counted on JL7. Hoping to see some 3’s from him too…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

So which one better for “his game”?

  • GameWatcher

Can’t believe OKC loss. Another playoff fodder.

  • NONONO

i did not want the game because i knew Clifford prepared for the lose. What happened to AL and Batum?

  • yes, it was a playoff atmosphere feel ..
Great push by JLin but Hornets defense couldn’t stop LeBron, Cavs 3pt shooting and ball movement to sustain the momentum

  • Ben Johnson

I truly believe that JLin is such a better player that he was in Houston
that, given the much better offensive system and talent Houston rolled
out, he would be killing it there and McHale would have no reason to
bench him…McHale hated JLin, but I still believe he either though
higher of JLin’s contributions or Les/Morey wanted JLin to have a larger
    role

  • Alain Gervais

For Lin and Kemba basically to put Cavs (eastern champion and 1st seed in th east) on the ropes late. Really shows you the potential of the team

  • zxcvb

Clifford and CHA never learn. Always with the same stupid Kemba Ball.

This is what the playoffs will be. Kemba playing for himself, icing out Lin. Lin doing his best in the 4th…but 10m of Lin unleashed is not enough.

  • heart

AJ-out w/ quad contusion; NB left the game w/ knee strain.

  • zxcvb

The Lin-led WIN with Kemba out is the true potential. 9pt victory against a fully healthy Cavs team!

  • Alain Gervais

    Houston’s offense. Charlottes coaching style

  • Ben Johnson

Jlin was 7-4 as a starter..much better than when he wasn’t the starter

  • Alain Gervais

Houston was win now didn’t want to wait. Now they have to rebuild.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I never forget there were weeks of Lin average 18 mpg here in Charlotte and he’s a last in first out rotation.

  • NONONO

Thanks. No wonder Lin played the closing mins.

  • LinMad

Cliff needs to play Lin more. No way Lee should have that many minutes.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

WHAT? who designed to offense, SANTA?

  • donsmacau

Kemba’s Loss Streak Continues — 25 Straight Losses to Lebron with Kemba leading Hornets

JLIN – 1 Straight WIN with JLIN leading Hornets

  • Alain Gervais

Lin on his game can beat anyone on any given day. With Lin off and Batum and Al out to still go down the wire after being down 20 is impressive

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

was NB’s injury bad? i blame clifford for playing the starters too many minutes

  • zxcvb

No hope of that. Cliff never ever learns. He’s probably just trying to please Kemba and Nic, he even joked about it (“Some guys here can get me fired…”).

Only MDA has ever treated Lin fairly. Even then, he had to be forced by injuries!

  • Ben Johnson

Yup, and the Cavs were health and rested, Case closed

  • NONONO

I missed AL + LIN PnR which is the most Hornets could have got from AL.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    wow. give JLIN 25 tries

  • guest

When Lin is given control of the team, like when they beat the Cavs (yes, big props to MKG) he orchestrates both the offense & defense and helps his other teammates get in the right position for better success on both sides of the ball.

  • jimmyL

If Lin was as hot in the first half as he was in the 2nd, they probably would have won
but the loss isnt on Lin
Bigs are too trash and nobody could have guarded LeBron

  • jimmyL

It’s not LeBron they dont guard each other
    Its team effort

  • HVJoy

Lin had only 9 shot attempts for 26 min. PT, 6 in the 4Q.

If only he had more touches before 4Q…

  • Alain Gervais

No insult please. I said Coaching style not. Meaning Cliffs ability to let players play no matter what. If the play bad or not. To be honest i think he wait to long to adjust but his “style is better for Lin. His playbook on the other hand is not

  • LBJ was correct to be anxious
Maybe LBJ is winning the power struggle now

  • NONONO

beating Hornets when he played PG for falling Lakers last season.

  • LinMad

The problem with Cliff is that he gives up way too early when it comes to Lin’s early performance. 0/3 with 3 TOs, bench and won’t allow him to prove himself. Whereas other players like Batum/Kemba are allowed to prove themselves with 15+ shots every night and not worry about being benched for small errors that might not even be because of him. I think his TOs were mostly on the bigs daydreaming today. Lin has such a short leash on this team. If Cliff just let Lin play and not worry or think about it too much, he would tear it up.

  • CaliUSMC

Why did Lamb only play 4mins? Starting to feel bad for the guy

  • blueCypher

Missed the game. From a quick scan at the comments Lin played well 2nd half

  • NONONO

    because no Batum, i guess.

  • donsmacau

Yep, you can say that when Kemba loses once, maybe twice, maybe three times, maybe four times, maybe five times, 6….19, 20, 21, 22, 23 even 24 TIMES

BUT you cannot use that EXCUSE for 25 times.

  • NONONO

too weak to play against strong team

  • cdblue10

I didn’t watch the game ,it seems there’s no need to watch the replay

  • Alain Gervais

    Defense as always

  • Ben Johnson

guy can’t play defense, playmake, or consistently hit the 3

  • CaliUSMC

Utah has to win this game to keep Houston in 9th..

  • Alain Gervais

You should it is frustrating at times but Lin adjusted. Fought hard

  • heart

It’s ironic that KW got 29pts in Cavs loss, while Lin got 29pts in Cavs win and got Hornets franchise history first win since 2010. NB was out when Lin led, and he was out halfway in today’s game.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    You called that insult? OMG?

You should thanks me for correcting you for nonsense about Cliff giving Lin the freedom better than McHale. They were both bad. BTW, Lin scored more in Housnton too. So who allowed Lin to play more on “his game”?

  • jimmyL

    What excuse?
It’s never Lin vs LeBron or Kemba vs LeBron
LeBron has always been on better teams than Kemba his team would win most of them
Team is never lead by Kemba he’s only concerned with his own shots

  • cdblue10

I’ll prolly learn something from it,maybe I will

  • NONONO

i did not watch either. just wait for Lin only replay video. I do not care about Hornets. Clifford prepared for the loss.

  • donsmacau

So you’re saying taht MKG won the game? Do you know MKG was a critical component of the initial 23 game losing streak?

  • LinMad

One thing’s for sure. Cliff doesn’t believe Lin should be on this team. If he did, he would have played Lin more right after Batum was injured. Lin isn’t even a 6th man on this team according to Cliff.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Cliff has no plan and keep doing the same. The only thing he changed was to let Kemba play more, much more.

  • NONONO

Hornets cannot beat top teams without Lin playing PG.

  • jimmyL

The Charlotte Hornets won the game because everyone played well especially Lin and MKG

  • donsmacau

    Karma and Celestial destiny

  • cdblue10

Lin and hornets need to play well from now on,Lin’s career to be a starter on his next team depends on this playoff. But we already know that he is sealed to play for the 76’ers next season.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Nope.

  • Alain Gervais

Im moving on. Next time instead of the lame ” whose coaching santa” ask the person to explain.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i would trade kemba for dellevadova in a heartbeat. LBJ’s numbers would plummet playing with kemba and kyrie

  • donsmacau

But for 25 straight games nobody played well enough to win for Kemba, poor Kemba alsways gets the bad luck

  • jimmyL

Clifford obviously doesn’t think Lin is good enough to play with the first unit but still values him as a bench player
He does not trust Lin down the stretch
He plays the most mins off the bench still

  • jimmyL

    yep

  • cdblue10

    I would love that scenario

  • sws94

He doesn’t trust LIn down the stretch? He’s played Lin a lot own the stretch.

I think he put in Frank to match up with Love, but Lin was in a long time and played, what?, all of the 4th?

  • HVJoy

Clifford’s player rotation needs adjustment for winning in playoffs.

  • blueCypher

    When did batum get injured

  • jimmyL

    the deal would get vetoed
at least get kevin love back

  • Alain Gervais

Lin lee and kemba may have been to small. Though he played that lineup late and it worked. Anyway maybe his idea was We needed rebound. Which turned out to be wrong . He used Lin late so he adjusted well

  • DaBoss

Jeremy has said he is a rhythm player – he needs time to get into the flow of a game. He can’t do this off the bench. Another big reason why he needs to be a starting PG. Forget the bench role. And another reason why he doesn’t need any more Clifford.

  • LinMad

Ever since Cliff thought Batum was a franchise player with a max contract who can play PG and SG and SF.

  • jimmyL

Nope, not after Lee was acquired
He likes Lee better down because he plays better defence
and Lin is not gonna replace Kemba/Batum
So it’s always gonna be Kemba/Lee/Batum unless Lin is really hot

  • donsmacau

Frank Kaminsky gets the start in place of Batum against Raptors instead of JLIN who led only win against TOR by CHA this season.

Anyone predicting a WIN this time with Kemba and Kaminsky?

  • cshot

    hahahahahah nice one.

  • LinMad

no, I think Cliff is fine with losing every game from now on cause CHA secured a playoff position

  • cshot

    2nd half i beleive (beginning)

  • blueCypher

    haha

  • joyce ward

Look, I think that Cliff is just a suck up in the worst way. I really don’t believe he thought the team would get this far, and now they are here. He is really an isolation coach, that doesn’t know how to adjust the games. He got the team to the playoffs, and I think he’s satisfied.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

more like clifford injured his head! lol

  • heart

Hornets is back to 6th spot in the playoffs ranking. Cliff thought giving Lee more minutes than Lin would allow KW to take more shots and win, but the momentum didn’t change until Lin was involved in the offense in the fourth. Like most of us here knew, Lin is a game changer. Only if Cliff let Lin be PG w/more PT, and involve him in the offense earlier, this game could have been in a win column.

  • HVJoy

    interesting observation!

  • blubell
  • blueCypher

I still think playing vs Hawks in the 1st round is their best bet

  • donsmacau

Yep, that 3rd seed lasted for all of 15 hours.

  • sws94

Yes and no. In some games Lin played down the stretch or deep into the 4Q and Lee played the remaining few minutes. I think he likes both but can only play 1 down the stretch. Lee plays somewhat better D, but Clifford by bringing Lin in late in games to make clutch plays shows a trust in him.

  • sws94

Skip the first half. Watch the 2nd half.

  • Sophie Paris

Yeah every game gonna count for the seeding. Crazy

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

very true. clifford has been coaching the team wrong from day one but got lucky because he has good players and they’re winning despite his bad coaching. now, he’s just taking all the credit and further sucking up to MJ by padding kemba’s stats. clifford’s coaching is just as out dated as byron scott’s

  • rookie75094

    Boo..boo

  • zxcvb

Kemba leading the Hornets is like Zack Snyder directing superhero films.

    – He’s never succeeded before, but he’s still given endless chances.
    – He clearly doesn’t have what it takes, but fanboys keep insisting he needs “more help.”
    – There are much better choices available, but execs refuse to admit they bet on the wrong guy.

  • sws94

There’s potential, but Kemba needs to make some adjustments for it to be realized. At this point in the season, he hasn’t and if he does the “second season”, that may make the difference in Ws and Ls in some games and moving forward a round.

  • zxcvb

    Amen. Preach it, Bill.

  • sws94

I think Marv made some good plays as well. I find Marv clutch.

  • blueCypher

Damn, Snyder is directing both justice league movies. Pull the plug on this dude after Batman Vs Superman

  • LinMad

Just checked NBA Pulse, Kemba Walker isn’t even on top 10 with the great game he had against Cavs. In fact, he’s not even top 20. Jeremy Lin ranks higher at #18 on NBA Pulse and he’s not even a leading scorer today.

  • blueCypher

Waiting for Lin 4th quarter highlights

  • jimmyL

Lee plays down the stretch most of the games
    Clifford definitely likes Lee better
but he shows the most trust in Lin out of all bench players

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

it’s so frustrating how clueless this coach is. the team has been doing this every single year.. kemba scores a lot but the team loses. and now, Lin shows them how to win and yet they can’t even see it. it’s ridiculous like jumping back into quicksand every time someone pulls you out

  • jimmyL

Snyder did a good job besides if you didnt like the story line its more on the script writers

  • HVJoy

a scorer called PG a game changer PG

  • sws94

I don’t think it is a matter of “likes” Lee better. I think for offense and clutchness, he goes with Lin. For defense and fit with the first unit he goes with Lee as a starter. But you mentioned trust. And I think he knows Lin can deliver in the clutch and has said, I like him out there in the closing minutes of games.

  • NONONO

He and Hornets only felt they would be lucky if they could be in playoff after MKG was out. They never expected Lin could lead the team to beat Cavs (without Kemba) , Raptors (without Batum) and Spurs.

  • Sophie Paris

Kemba isn’t so famous. Tbh I didn’t knew him before Lin goes to the hornets lol

  • Sophie Paris

    LOL

  • Sophie Paris

    Prefers the hard way lol

  • NONONO

I knew Kemba because Lin leading Harvard vs UConn game and Leading Lakers in Charlotte last season.

  • heart

Yep. I saw UConn game vs Harvard when Lin scored like 30pts+ IIRC vs KW then. Yet, KW got drafted and Lin didn’t. Got me upset to no end, then now Lin has to backup to KW…

  • jimmyL

yep fit wise, lee prolly fits in better with 1st unit
he definitely is the prefered closer
Clifford would close with Lin more if they didnt have Lee

  • NONONO

Now i know Kemba more because Hornets has never beat Lebron’s teams with him in charge.

  • Rick Johnson

    Serena Winters?

  • Sophie Paris

Oic. Lin will start next season somewhere else he proved to many teams he’s better than KW.

  • Sophie Paris

Haha I know Kemba too now. And it’s not in good on the court.

  • Sophie Paris

I did remember when Lakers won in Charlotte but didn’t remember their players. They were a bad team.

  • sws94

Yes. But Cliff should think of Kemba, Batum, Lin, Lee, Marvin small lineup because that lineup, though lacking in size, is his best defensive/offensive closing lineup. He can’t do it always but he should do it some games.

  • heart

I pray so. It’ll be more exciting when Lin starts.

  • LinMad

Can’t wait until this season is over. Need a coach that actually trusts Lin with the ball and not snag him for shooting 0-3 early game or having a few turnovers that isn’t all his fault. One good example was Cliff playing Batum 35+ minutes earlier this season he had 9-11 turnovers. I don’t think Lin will ever get that many TOs if a coach actually trust him with the ball. Even Linsanity era, Lin was having 4-7 turnovers and that was already considered high for him but he was putting down 20+ and 7+ assists per game. His handle has improved since then. Those turnovers today were from passes that bigs couldn’t catch. And they weren’t bad passes either. Any strong big would have caught it.

  • sws94

I don’t worry about them. How many did LeBron have? How many does Batum regularly have? Lin’s assist total the previous game shows what he can do. Fact is, Lin, maybe ailing, I think ailing, was clutch, magic Lin in the 4th. That’s good. That’s what we need from him in the playoffs and the playoffs are important to establish Lin’s ability to play big when it counts. This game was a good playoff preview.

  • sws94

Houston was a disgusting place. Disgusting coach, media, announcers, and very disgusting fan board. I don’t support any notion that he had it better there. By far, Lin has it best in Charlotte of the post-NY teams. Houston isn’t winning anything with the one-dimensional, lazy, diva Harden dictating things there. He and Howard are clowns as basketball players. I like Howard’s personality to a degree, but he isn’t a winner as a basketball player.

  • sws94

I’m support you 100 percent and I’m sick of reagan and others insulting posters when they don’t agree with them. What’s wrong with Lin fans? Stop this madness. Be cordial and respectful already.

  • sws94

Ah yes, but Lin can facilitate not as official PG. Just get the ball and facilitate.

  • Alain Gervais

Actually i can wait. Playoffs baby

  • GameWatcher

Just saying, last time I post first on the thread, Lin blew away CAV. You guys need to step up.

  • LinMad

Kemba ball won’t work, this was a good playoff preview for the coach to make adjustments when playoffs starts. More Lin, less Kemba/Lee.

  • Alain Gervais

Im not wasting time anymore. Point out the insult and say please do better next time. Then move on. Its a waste to put energy into it. Getting mad because of an opinion is ridiculous

  • sws94

It’s annoying when I go to do an arrow up and it shifts over and I accidentally press an arrow down. I got rid of it and put the arrow up but I hope it doesn’t register as an arrow down. Guess I just have to be patient until the page is finish adjusting itself.

    Anyway, yes we do! 🙂

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

if you are a superstar, you gotta demand the ball at crunch time, GameWatcher!

  • Alain Gervais

What i said. In the playoffs the role players will become more like role players. I don’t expect Marvins points to matter nor lee. Lin,datum, Al, And kemba will need to score or else we lose everytime. No more bad teams to beat up on. Lamb hopefully can get us something. I liked this game then Sixers game. It was haif hearted the whole game no real threat. Like a jog lol. This game was intense. Heart beating and all. Only some players show up. It was all Lin and kemba late. Marvin is an amazing role player hitting a three. A lot of hornets success recently has to do with the week schedule. Our bigs will be our downfall at the end

  • FrankW

Don’t understand why Howard doesn’t want to pick and roll with Lin or Steve Nash, preferred postups which he wasn’t as good. Many times Lin was open but he past to Bev or someone else instead. Seems like an easy going guy but not the brightest light bulb on the basketball court.

Yes, the Houston enviroment was a cesspool, now they don’t have Lin to blame. Lin needs to get out, not going anywhere with the Hornets.

  • sws94

I have to put Marvin in the core players group. He’s stepped up. He hits a lot of shots. He’s a leader on the floor. He plays solid D. He’s also a pretty reliable clutch shooter in the 4th. I have to add Marv to Lin, Batum and Kemba. I think Al sometimes. It certainly showed today that Hawes play in the playoff needs to be limited. At the end of the day, the Hornets bigs aren’t good enough. Cody tries and hustles and gets rebounds and also has great chemistry with Batum, but he’s limited.

  • Alain Gervais

You you are right lol. Nice point. Al depends on the match up. Would of helped today having him there

  • sws94

I agree and will try to do the same. Maybe flag some posts and move on. I feel you and I are put on the defensive just for making regular basketball statements and that shouldn’t happen, but it is hard not to defend ourselves when that happens. But, as you said, energy is not used well doing this.

  • sws94

    Absolutely. I hope he’s ok.

  • Alain Gervais

And datum. Didn’t seem like anything was wrong

  • sws94

I was surprised that he didn’t come out for the 3Q. Hornets and Hornets fans are holding their breaths now.

  • Epie

I knew Hansborough, but not Kemba

  • CaliUSMC

    Some short highlights

  • kauaiblue

    Oh yes! Luv her!

  • Alain Gervais

Just saw Cliff post game interview. Batum had knee soreness before the game. They are not risking it and will rest him until 100 percent

  • blueCypher

Nice, HD highlights should come soon

  • heart

When Lin got going, he hit his 3s and 2s fade away. Clifford needs to involve Lin in the offense. He’s playing SG but most times he’s not being set up for easy baskets. He has to set up his own shot and does so effectively when he’s in the rhythm. When Lin scores most of the time Hornets would win. Didn’t Clifford said he knew Lin’s game? Just lip service?

  • vin ent

When lin turned the ball over cliff yelled at lin not the bigs.. Its crazy kembas allowed to go 0-8 on shotsand batum is allowed to have 15 turnovers but lin get SCREAMED at for 0-3 and a TO THAT ISNT HIS FAULT

  • orLinaryjoe

    @$%!!!

    Edit.

  • DX

Didn’t watch this game, stats shows Lin had a bad game. -16, 5TOs. At least he got 14 pts.

  • heart

Two of those TOs were from the bigs and one was from KW who couldn’t catch.

  • FrankW

Hornets was within 4 points during the 4th quarter. During the 4th quarter, Lin had 1 TO, 1 PF, 2 REB, and 10 PTS.

  • sws94

Tale of two halves. He played great in the 4Q, struggled in the 2Q. Lot of miscommunication on the TOs. Only 2 are really legit IMO.

  • FrankW

    Could it be tough love?

  • sws94

Thanks. Bad idea to play him them. Well, Lin gets extended time now and I think he’ll do well. Batum is needed in the Boston game if possible, he needs to get the rest and heal to be ready for the playoffs. Hopefully.

  • JoeTeam

lol, I acted just like him until I got married. Funny how that works …

  • donsmacau

Add another Don to that list for me.

  • donsmacau

Kemba FAILs Again – Ultimate responsibility for wins/losses falls on Playermaker with the ball in his hands

Kemba fans & those who love giving Kemba credit say “well he cut the deficit by 8 pts by himself”, so why can we cut Kemba some slack?

    Here’s WHY:

    – Kemba played 41 minutes ALL of those as lead playmaker PG

    – Kemba constantly called for the ball

    – Kemba could not get his team in any sort of offensive flow (his responsiblity-his job)

    – JLIN played all of FOUR (4) min. PLAYMAKING point guard so DO NOT try to pin the blame on JLIN

    – Is Clifford to blame? of course he is always outcoached but JLIN PG was able to overcome Clifford’s bad coaching to inspire Win

    – Kemba delivered his 25th straight LOSS to Lebron

Imagine if the Hornets allowed JLIN to lead 25 times? Does anyone feel he’d lead the team to 0-25 record? (ridiculous since he’s already 1-0)

Well that is just what Kemba did, his 25th loss against Zero wins.

  • strained left knee

  • With 6 games left before the playoff, it will be interesting if the Hornets will rest Batum 1-2 games due to strained left knee for precaution.

Will JLin start? That remains to be seen. We need to monitor the development
    https://twitter.com/CBSSportsNBA/status/716743878607384576

  • kauaiblue

He’s a terrible coach with low iq.

  • sws94

Start for Batum? Probably. I wonder if it’ll only be 1 or 2 games.

  • orLinaryjoe

Fine…, too little Lin, too late for Lin, too little rebounds, too little assists, and game over.

3rd place back down to 6th.

    Lesson learned?

    None.

    Lin playing for $2mil? Priceless.

  • orLinaryjoe

    My money is on….
    No, he will not start.

  • orLinaryjoe

    But Kemba got his.

  • donsmacau

    Frank Kaminsky will start.

Prior to CLee when there was only PJ — made sense for JLIN but in Clifford’s mind since Batum switched over to SF its Kam

  • james brown

most probably, its because of cliff’s stubbornness!

  • joyce ward

Clifford is not a championship mindset coach. I hate coaches like him. He is a suck up to the max and is ineffective as a coach. If Batum comes back to play in play offs, I will be surprised. He is saving himself for his next team. Batum is show casing his talents for other teams. he wants to play team ball, and be effective, but he knows that Cliff is a suck up and i really don’t think he respects him. The Hornets are going to be shocked when batum goes somewhere else.

  • I would also probably not with 60% chance due to back issues and JLin’s assigned role to power the BF1.

But it will be interesting to see who Cliff starts because he needs 2 playmakers for starters.

  • Hm, I just remember Kemba and Lin started in the OT win vs the Raptors.
    It might happen again then

  • sws94

The game Lin scored 35. Yup.

  • donsmacau

As he always does, but against the elite teams of the NBA “geetting his” never seems to be enough to secure win.

Kemba might need to see a SPORTS Psychiatrist/Psychologist most likely. He has an inability to lead a team to beat the Elite teams in the NBA – it’s a problem.

And it this type of problem Won’t go away without professional help.

(Am I being facetious? Who knows but I see this written about JLIN occasionally)

  • heart

Lin gave big discounts $ for PT (Acbc coined this phrase), but Cliff is not honoring his end of the bargain.

  • The Hornets would have to throw a max contract to Batum and not have many teams close to match it.
I haven’t recalled Batum being too impressed with Clifford in some interviews so he might be neutral about it.

The French-speaking Toronto would certainly provide a big appeal to Batum and closer to contend for championships than the Hornets. I got a feeling Batum likes the big city and culture that Toronto offers. But there’s always a small chance he stays if he likes the freedom and the triple-double despite Charlotte’s small market.

The funny thing is if Batum plays big in the playoff, he might be more likely to sign with Raptors and other teams who are willing to pay

  • CJSHYY

I think Batum will stay bc no other team will let him be #1 guy & max contract.

  • There is one possibility that we haven’t considered.

What if Clifford secretly likes JLin enough to believe he might be better off as a starting PG somewhere else (i.e. for his buddy MDA’s team) next season? That’s why he’s stubborn enough to limit JLin’s role to power the bench because he knows JLin won’t be satisfied to stay as a backup PG.

    Mind-blown! 😀

  • joyce ward

Batum hasn’t really said anything about Clifford, good or bad. lin has been the most vocal about Cliff and it has been all positive. Batum wants to play in Toronto and you are right, he likes the bigger markets. I think the reason cliff is sucking up so hard is because Batum hasn’t really said anything about off season or given the Hornets any hints that he might stay.

  • donsmacau

    I love this out-of-the-box thinking.

But something tells me Clifford simply not smart enough to concoct & carry out this plan and has too much “self – preservation” in him to be weakening his own team on purpose.

  • orLinaryjoe

    Mind blown!

  • orLinaryjoe

Nope, that’s not it. Too genius!

  • I have no doubt politics dictate Clifford’s decision to help create Kemba as an All-Star because he doesn’t want to get fired. In fact, that’s the main driving force.

It’s his stubbornness to never try to start and close with Kemba/Batum/Lin that I find odd.
MKG might be back next year but he needs to maximize the opportunity this year by starting and closing with his Big 3

  • joyce ward

Batum is not the #1 guy on the team now, it’s KW. I have a feeling, Batum wants to be the only #1 guy. We will see.

  • joyce ward

I think MKG is will be traded. He has been injured twice. I suspect when he is healed , that they will try to trade him.

  • CJSHYY

Next season Batum will be #1 guy & he will be in ASG.

  • heart

Did you see today’s NBA poster w/ the word CLINCH for playoffs? NB pic is small and is positioned behind KW. To me, if NB stays he will be in for awakening, just like Howard & Harden. KW was selected by MJ and is #1 option, Hornets franchise player. NB will be 2nd if he stays. That’s what I sense.

  • CJSHYY

I think at least that’s what they sell Batum… that’s why he got so many freedom on court.

  • NONONO

Na. I think Lin has made his mind either stay or leave. If Hornet wanted to keep him, the talks had been done months ago.

  • Whitman Lam

Toronto isn’t French speaking, they speak English just like the US. You’re thinking Montreal in Quebec province.

  • Martin Chong

Just say if this is true. Not to discriminate, but do you know how i know Clifford is gay?

  • NONONO

the most likely, Lin did not want to stay or did not want to commit it too early. That was why his role and minutes got trimmed.

  • joyce ward

Batum need fans to vote and also the media and coaches to vote for him. He neither KW won’t make it on the ASG voting. They are not NBA popular. lin will make back on the ASG ballot before they will.

  • KHuang

Clifford fails the one most important rule of coaching:

which is to play your guys according to the flow of the game and not according to any predetermined “hierarchy.”

  • joyce ward

    Bingo!!!!!!

  • KHuang

Doesn’t matter if Lin starts or not.

This injury WILL increase Lin’s minutes by about 4 mpg.

  • joyce ward

Whatever, batum wants to go to Toronto

  • heart

They’re probably selling NB that they’ll make him an all-star and give him the reign for offense to complement KW. They will allow NB and KW taking turn w/ initiating the offense to pad stats their numbers so they can be considered for All-Star selection. Don’t forget, MJ who is KW’s shoe sponsor also drafted him will always have him as #1 option as the face of the Hornets franchise. Keeping NB is for KW’s benefit, to take the play making load off and for floor spacing, so he can shoot his 3s. I sense that their pitch to NB is similar to Rox’s pitch to Howard. Overtime, what did we see happen to Howard, who end up controlling the offense? Howard’s touches in the paint got less. If they honor their pitch to NB and give him max contract, then it’s all power to him. But we saw that they have not kept their end of bargain to Lin. Will the pattern repeat? Who knows…Of course, this is all speculation on our part…

  • joyce ward

I get what you’re saying, but KW/NB are NBA popular, so them getting into the ASG is probably pretty slim. I have a gut feeling that Batum isn’t buying what their trying to sell, because he has seen the way they have treated lin. Next season the salary cap will be higher, and the only other team that would offer him a max salary would be the Lakers, and it’s a big venue, and Kobe will be retired, and he could be the #1 guy there.

  • joyce ward

Let us not forget about the Lakers next season. Kobe will be gone and they just might offer Batum a max salary too. He definitely would be the #1 guy there.

  • CJSHYY

Next season Hornets will hosting the ASG. I think they will be able to get one backup position just like what Rox did to Harden when they hosted ASG in Houston.

  • sport

Had a hunch history will repeat itself just like previous seasons with Kemba the fake star back in the line up. That’s why I didn’t bother watching this game. Lin has break out game against Championship contenders and when they meet again he doesn’t get the minutes to shine. Just look at the stats, Kemba had 41 minutes and made only 9 out of 19 shots, just to get his 29 points! Hornets will be in for a rude awakening once Lin leaves. Even if Batum stays which I doubt he will, Hornets will be at the bottom again.

  • sport

If they have max money I think they’d try to get KD.

  • donsmacau

All Canadian’s even Torontonites learn French in school, it is the other national language in Canada. Not everyone in Toronto is bilingual but many are.

  • joyce ward

They won’t be hosting the ASG next year if the state legislature signs the anti-gay bill. That is all up in the air now. NBA has already said that if it passes, they will pull the ASG out of NC. They are presently now looking for another venue.

  • donsmacau

    There’s talk of DeRozan

  • CJSHYY

Ya! If Hornets can’t host the ASG then Batum will not be in ASG for sure.

  • joyce ward

Nah, harden has already stated that he is going after KD.

  • joyce ward

That’s what I think too, that Batum is not staying.

  • cdblue10

Batum will stay because there’s no other team that will offer him a max money,Batum is a good player but just good enough to be a 3rd or 4th option in a contending team

  • sport

Except they want Kemba to get in instead, they are obviously pushing for him to be in ASG next season.

  • donsmacau

I think Batum stays because frankly don’t believe any other team will pay Batum max and allow him to be ballhandling POINT FORWARD like CHA.

I think JLIN and Marv leave – those two are more than enough to decimate both the Starters and the Bench.

  • joyce ward

Exactly. Like I said if NC passes that anti-gay bill, ASG won’t be in NC.

  • sport

They are just allowing him to play like that to trick him to sign. Once that happens they will change the game plan just like Rockets.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

batum would be smart to leave if Lin leaves. i mean, why would anyone wanna play with ball hogs? but as donsmacau said below, he may stay for the max contract and clifford has treated him well

  • joyce ward

I think Lakers would offer him a max salary. Look the salary cap is going to be much higher next year, and I suspect a lot of teams out of desperation will be giving away max contracts like it’s candy.LOL

  • sport

lol Right so KD will leave Westbrook to be play with a no defense Harden; he’s dreaming not to mention it’s Houston who want to go there?

  • sport

Money isn’t everything, we all can see Batum is playing 2nd fiddle to Walker.

  • TTNN

I don’t see the logic there

  • sport

Lets hope Lin will get one of the candies.

  • cdblue10

Batum won’t go to a rebuilding team,Lakers has 3-4 years before they can rebuild unless they can convinced talents like KD or Westbrook to their team.Lakers FO’s are smart enough not to buy into that rumor, they’ll better rebuild w/ the rookies and draft picks than going to Batum.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Since I didn’t watch the game except the stat, please update me about Batum’s injury and why Lamb played so little time. Thanks!

  • orLinaryjoe

That, I actually don’t get. You would think more PT would entice Lin to stay. Nope, not gonna do it.

  • joyce ward

I really don’t think Batum cares. I think he wants to get paid and be the #1 guy. I truly believe that are just a few players in the league with a championship mindset and the heart of a champion. Batum did come to Charlotte whose record wasn’t that good. He left Portland, whose record was much better than Charlotte’s.

  • TTNN

right, kind a disappointed, but majority of the min will most likely goes to Kaminsky

  • cdblue10

He didn’t leave Portland,he was traded to Charlotte for younger talent and picks.

  • joyce ward

I think he will. I think lin will have a lot of suitors, but lin’s problem will be , will they offer him a starting position?

  • donsmacau

It always matter whether JLIN starts or not if the goal is to maximize win chance.

  • JoeTeam

    cool mind blown post.

  • joyce ward

Well, there you go, that’s even worst, he was traded.

  • cdblue10

Portland part ways with him because they don’t think that Batum is good enough to help them with their campaign they chose to go w/ younger talents.

  • JoeTeam

    This post I like!

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

the injury to Batum will effect the Hornet big time during the playoffs (if he stays injured). but it may be a blessing in disguise.. depending on how clifford uses Lin. cus if Lin starts and has high usage, that trumps everything. case in point.. Lin lead the team to victory over the Raptors as the starting SG but playing as the primary ball distributor

  • TTNN

Lamb is horrible in defense, got pulled.

    Batum had a keen strain

  • gum

I noticed on the NBA Score box that Jeremy Lin’s stat included 5 TO while others’ scores are free of TO showing (NBA TV).

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

    😀

  • KHuang

That’s because whenever a guy drops Lin’s pass or fails to make a cut, Lin gets automatically charged with the turnover.

Similarly, if Lin is missed on a cut or gets illegally hacked, Lin get the turnover.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

most of the time he gets hacked driving to the basket and doesn’t get a call

  • gum

Yes, I understand what you said…I meant other players’ scores did not show any TO…but only on Jeremy Lin. I think it is somewhat odd.

  • sws94

OK. The thing that I don’t get with Batum is if he’s happy with his facilitator role here vs. the sort of role he’d have in Toronto that is almost going back. If you think of Lowry as something like Lillard and DeRozan, in terms of the scoring, something like Aldredge, Won’t Batum think he’s going to a less active, role that doesn’t highlight his playmaking?

  • heart

    From what I can recollect:
    1. Hornets trailed the entire game;
    2. NB left the game w/ left knee strain after first half, Cliff subbed in Kam instead of Lin. Big mistake=Bad outcome.
    3. Bigs were outplayed by Cavs tonight. Missing several crucial assignments and rebounds.
    4. In the first half, Lin was setting up plays and passing more, but Hawes and Zeller couldn’t catch. Got several unnecessary TOs and got fouled but no calls.
5.Cavs were shooting well & bc of Hornets poor defense from the bigs. But Lamb was subbed out and never returned.
    6. I think Cliff tried to win this game w/ KW (bc he was shooting well).
    7. Lin was more involved in offense in the fourth, but KW was controlling the rock and like usual avoided passing to Lin or just shoot himself. But Cavs also defended Lin tighter.
    8. Lin stayed to close out the game and got the deficit down to 4pts, but teammates were not in sync on defense nor offense the whole game. Result: Loss even though KW got his points.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Thanks!

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Lamb as usual played bad in D.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks for the detailed report. Really appreciate it. Am extremely busy today since I woke up. Don’t have time to get thru all posts as I still have so many things to do for the rest of the day.

  • heart

Bc they don’t want to offend KW; he’s their chosen face of the franchise. Lin is KW’s competition. KW would be compared to Lin by fans and media all the time bc Lin would out perform KW if Lin is allowed the freedom to play his game w/ the unrestricted PT that KW has.

  • pero_square

psalm pls…April Fools’ was 2 days ago.

On a serious note, I am looking forward to the playoffs.

  • donsmacau

Clifford’s 8 man lineup against the East Champions and roster changes were as perplexing as I can remember. He made absolutely no real adjustments to affect this game positively.

Yes, Clifford inserted Kaminsky for an injured Batum

But really he was intent on playing just 7 players since he couldn’t stand having JLamb in for more than 3 min. Some of the bench who are tough on D and could stretch the floor didn’t see 1 min.

  • blueCypher

I think there will be other teams that will offer him max or near-max money. Too many teams with cap space that will luck out on the big dogs – durant, lebron, etc.

  • heart

I was so puzzled by that too. He just couldn’t go beyond his comfort zone, wasting so much talents on the bench, and making poor, delayed or no adjustment at all. After tonight’s loss, Raptor is next. He usually feels more pressure to win after a loss. We’ll see how he uses Lin this next game.

  • BobbyH

IMO, Hornet’s Bigs will not be able to handle playoff intensity. Too soft, can’t catch pass, can’t box, can’t rebound, can’t screen. What they could do is pop and shoot.

Today’s game clearly show what they can’t do. If Cliff is smart enough, inserting Al in starting lineup may help a bit.

  • Sophie Paris

If Lin starts and plays PG they have a high percentage of winning. But Clifford must not know that.

anyone got the VLC link to work today? I couldn’t play it on my android phone using the VLC player app. thanks for your input.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Wonder why Al isn’t playing in this game??? Another injury???

  • heart

    out w/ quad contusion.

  • BobbyH

    I think it is dead.

  • Brent Yen

I think that is exactly what he wants

  • Pete B

Currently at 6th in East, facing Atlanta, Boston or Miami , Home court would be nice
    http://espn.go.com/nba/standings

  • KHuang

    Kaminsky will be just fine.

    Jefferson, hard to tell.

    Zeller and Williams, so so.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Ok. Guess I’m out of loop of latest update:-( Going to be even busier from now on. Only can catch up JLin and his related matters from you and other fans:-(

    Highlights from JUN LIU

  • Phillycheese

Toronto has a fairly large french speaking population, it’s just that they can also speak English, so you never know, since the preference is English. Toronto is a very cultured city, which I think Batum can appreciate.

  • jimmyL

Havent seen him do it yet

  • jimmyL

    Exactly.
Williams can keep shooting 3’s but a PF averaging 6 rebounds a game? come on thats garbage and his FG% is trash for a PF hes no good
Cody is the definition of weak
Kaminsky is talented but still a rookie and not nearly as talented as Karl Anthony Towns but he might get better than Okafor if hes properly coached because 76ers are poisonous to his career, pure negativity

  • jimmyL

    There will be a few
    Nic is playing well

  • jimmyL

Kemba is having a career season and he played very well tonight
Just not a distributor he doesnt make play he needs someone like batum and Lin so he can focus on scoring

  • james brown

i think marv will stay because cliff treated him well anf trust him. they will pay him reasonably.

  • jimmyL

They probably wanna develop Clarkson and Russell both very talented, might as well

  • james brown

its free to dream, but that’s a stretch giving cliff too much props!

  • bolero
  • haha, .. just throwing 0.0001% possibility that is out there 🙂

JLin post game interview China media..

  • yes, I meant Toronto speaks both English and French so Batum would be more comfortable there. I know Montreal would be definitely have predominantly French speakers

  • sport

Playing 40+ minutes every game and taking 20 -30 shots per game while missing most of them. I wouldn’t call that a career season at all! His scoring is in efficient and he’s not clutch that’s why NBA don’t buy him. No Hornets are sacrificing others shot attempts and making everyone else do the dirty work while Kemba inflates his meaningless stats. Kemba is a PG and PGs are suppose to make plays not just hog the ball and go iso every time. He’s a SG pretending to be PG just like Westbrook; both don’t win Championships.

  • JLin didn’t look very comfortable giving this interview

  • sport

Cliff is just another coach following FO orders to create a fake star at the expense of everyone else. Once Lin leaves he will be in for a rude awakening.

  • Brent Yen

We do not feel comfortable watching it either…

  • new postgame thread
    http://www.jlinportal.com/cavaliers-beat-hornets-who-lost-batum-and-al-jefferson/

The Hornets could not stopped LeBron James who scored 31pt and dished 12 assists in a 103-112 loss. The Hornets lost Batum to strained left knee during the game and did not play Al Jefferson who was ruled out due to quad injury.

    – Jeremy Lin finished with 14pts/1asts/3rebs in 27 min. He got hot in the 4th quarter with 3pt shot and a fadeaway jumpshot over Kevin Love to bring the game within 5 pts (94-99) with 3:49 left but the Hornets couldn’t stop LeBron James on the defensive end. The big men was unable to slow down LeBron to attack the rim, Love’s 3pt shot. There were defensive lapses with JR Smith easy layups

    – The Hornets big men lost the rebounding battle 35-46. They also allowed the Cavs to shoot 55.2% (16-29) from 3pt-land. The Cavs ball movement allowed them to win the assist battle 34-23.

    – With 6 games left, how many games will the Hornets rest Batum to be ready for the playoff? Will they start Lin against the Raptors? Kemba/Lin backcourt won the OT game vs the Raptors. But they might opt to have JLin anchor the Bench Force 1 and start Frank Kaminsky. It’s unknown if Lin’s sore lower back will require more rest.

  • I know :[ ….
It’s all very tense and awkward

  • Brent Yen

SMH….they runs it like it is a variety show……lol

  • It’s a remote possibility that Clifford never chose to start Kemba/Lin/Batum even after MKG injury because he knew JLin can be a starting PG somewhere else. If he started JLin, he might stay as an SG but never fulfill his potential as a starting PG somewhere else.

I know politics and big defensive SG like Lee is the driving force of Clifford’s move to start Kemba/Lee but I wonder why Clifford never even tried to start Kemba/Lin/Batum but closed with them frequently before ASB.

    oh well, never mind ..
Clifford is most likely being simplistic to ride Kemba due to politics

  • adele

I watched the game but it’s so boring and lousy with the same Clifford showing off Kemba. How can I ever like a team (even if it’s Lins team) when Lin was being placed in the shadows? Call me negative but that’s one of the reasons why I don’t post a lot anymore. It’s so frustrating to me watching these games, listening to commentators and watching their promotion on Kemba and Batum every start of the game and breaks. Can’t believe I’m rooting for this team. Can’t wait for this season to end.

  • adele

Career season😡 ? The team management and the coach are trying their very best to make him that way! Why? If Lin was build up the same way, this team will be number 1 in the east and Lin will have more than a career season. Sigh!

  • adele

Thank you for being the guiding light.😉

  • adele

I don’t give this coach too much props as what James brown said. He is too deceiving in so many ways. I don’t trust him 101% I’m sorry but that’s how I see it.

  • heart

I hear you. Battling against the false narrative is tiring…

  • jimmyL

Maybe but the hornets are doing well with Kemba/Batum/Lin leading the way as well
why so salty? Kemba is playing really well because Batum and Lin do the play making for him they all play for each other its a team sport

  • jimmyL

36mpg 21ppg on 16 shots shooting 42.9 not amazing but its adequate way better than what it used to be he is pretty clutch and made shots in crucial moments he can score so well and thats his job on this team batum and Lin do the play making every one plays for each other and they are doing so well
    why so much hate
