    First?

    hehehehehe

  • BobbyH

    HaHaHaHaHa

  • knibb

    hmmmm…

  • BobbyH

The other plausible explanation is NY Disqus server s slow.

  • or Brent is sitting on TX Internet Hub LOL

  • BTW, I added Polls for this Game vs NOP & next game vs POR above

  • BobbyH

LOL. Maybe he owns the hub or has a special direct line to Disqus server. Otherwise how can you explain his HeHeHeHe?

  • He designed his own Brent-Auto-Hehehe-BOT! lol

  • Brent Yen

The name voting poll….is it a public one? more than 100 votes already!

  • Brent Yen

    oooooooops….u figured that out

  • yes, that is special for public but limited to 2/day, I think so no spamming

maybe we should have another poll for Tanking just for fun, what’s the record for last 9 games =)
    I’m guessing 2-7

  • Brent Yen

Gotta be 9-0…….another JLin Prime stint! lol

  • “JLinPrime: TankBuster Edition” will be much welcome

  • joyce ward

Adidas is marketing Lin in China for their over there. It seems that Adidas is really behind him. I read early last month Adidas decided not to renew their apparell contract with the NBA. The NBA decided to make a bidding war for the contract, and Adidas stated they were not going to try outbid that has not been very profitable to them

I am sure Lakers F/O have called about him recently.

  • CJSHYY

These 3 players all have contract w Lakers next season … Hope no Lin.

Lin again? I think he will play tonight.

Jeremy Lin Set to Join The Dallas Mavericks Next Season
    http://thesmokingcuban.com/2015/04/01/jeremy-lin-set-join-dallas-mavericks-next-season/

Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban is apparently intrigued at the possibility of bringing Lin to Big D. Mavs’ announcer Mark Followill, a trusted source in the Dallas Mavericks community, broke the surprising news this morning.

“Was just about to brush my teeth before Mark Cuban called me he is bringing Jeremy Lin to Metroplex next season. Unprecedented and unconfirmed reports this is!” #Linsanity – @MFollowill

  • joyce ward

They only have 14 days left in the season, so they are probably trying to sell them.

  • Brent Yen
  • They look so pale in the calendar .. like they’re sick or something :]

  • CJSHYY

    Multi-year? Wow! What about Ellington?

  • Brent Yen

I am thinking maybe Swaggy P will be gone too…lol

  • CJSHYY

I think Young will bc Kobe & BS don’t like him. But I thought Ellington will replace Young. So maybe now it’s Brown then? He is cheaper than Ellington I guess. FO is cheap now. LOL!

  • Brent Yen

Young is a SF…and obviously Kelly at SF was an epic failure

  • dlin2

Even less PT for Jeremy now as he doesn’t figure into future plans.

  • CJSHYY

They will let Lin play, don’t worry. I guess around 30 min.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Seem like it, they will keep only those rookies Dleague who Kobe can smack around without arguing back.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Listen to what they asked for it…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    He’ll be around 2 to 3 years $700,000 to $900,000.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

This kind of fool can cause riot. LOL

  • Brent Yen

    LOL true that

  • 1mtoldman

    and the peasants rejoice.

  • 1mtoldman

swaggy has a contract. they have to pay him or trade him or eat the document.

only players they are required to pay next year are randle, kobe, swaggy and kelly.

but i still think they will just eat kelly’s chump change contract.

waht i dont actually know come to think of it and maybe you can tell me: if the lakers do release kelly just eat his contract and still pay him; do they get to take that money off of cap space or not?

    enquiring mind wants to know.

  • 1mtoldman

brown has much more upside too. i would expect ellington to be in europe somewhere next year.

  • Brent Yen

    That’s what I meant. Swaggy P in a trade package…

  • 1mtoldman

possible but i dont think so; i think they will keep swaggy randle kobe price (for kobe security) and sacre (for cult factor).

everyone else is probably gone one way or another with johnson being a toss up.

oh and black probably be back. but i thought if they have enuf other healthy bodies from all those free agents who bs says will “love” to come to the lakers plus their new oh so earnestly tanked for dp that both brown and black will go back to d league for a time.

(i still think clarkson and hill will be traded by trade deadline).

johnson id say 50/50 stay; swaggy 65/35 stay.

  • 1mtoldman

another reason to confirm my belief young will be back; these three plus price and sacre. no others.

  • 1mtoldman

kellys the only other one the have to pay. that is confirmed contract both team and player. but i think they will just let him go and eat the small salary he commands.

  • Brent Yen

They better leave, or being crushed by Lin next season….lol

  • 1mtoldman

someone previously here (shall remain nameless) lampooning the small marketshare in u.s. of adiadas but that 5% share makes them the second largest shoe maker, true they have slipped here a little–now that is im assuming nike-jordan as all one and the same.

  • 1mtoldman

j lin needs 15 points tonite to put up his first 5 game run of ave. 20 points per game for only the second time since 10 days of linsanity.

  • 1mtoldman

lin needs 15 points tonite to post only the second 5 game run of ave. 20 points or more per game in his career since the 10 days of linsanity in new york. long long ago in a galaxy far away. he gets that and we can defintely call this end of season run jlin prime or whatever won the poll.

i like just lin prime. (no need to call him j, …or ray, or r.j.).

  • joyce ward

I am with you. I think Clarkson/Hill are both trade bait.

  • joyce ward

    LOL

Even though the old Linsanity made history but he’s not even close to compare with Jeremy Lin today. Faster, better shooter, much better defender, his left might be better than his right now and of course lots stronger.

  • Rookie75094

Remember I prayed for a 10 games win streak for the tankers….the Lord works in mysterious way

  • 1mtoldman

    see complete explanation below.

  • 1mtoldman

back in the reagan years one would be familiar with the last reference in my post above but for those who arent’ there:

Does anyone understand the Ray J. Johnson joke?

I heard it on King of the Hill and it has been bugging me ever since. Is it supposed to be funny, or just not make any sense to the point where it is funny? It goes “My name is Raymond J. Johnson, Jr. Now you can call me Ray, or you can call me J, or you can call me Johnny, or you can call me Sonny, or you can call me Junie, or you can call me Junior; now you can call me Ray J, or you can call me RJ, or you can call me RJJ, or you can call me RJJ Jr, but you doesn’t hasta call me Johnson

“Actor Bill Saluga was briefly famous for his “Raymond J. Johnson” character; a character that was essentially what one would call a short lived “meme” now, but on TV in the late 70’s and early 80’s. His fame was very, very brief as basically this was really the character’s only bit. It was somewhat amusing/annoying and Mr. Saluga was showing up everywhere for a brief moment of time on TV in commercials, sketch comedy shows, sitcoms, talk shows, variety shows, etc. Think the Simpsons episode where Bart becomes “The I Didn’t Do It Boy.” It was funny for a minute, and I’m sure the guy made a little bank, but it was gone as quick as it came. and yes, the character is referenced in both The Simpsons and in King of the Hill.”

my note: bob dylan also referenced it in a lyric in a song from his overtly christian period; “you can call me bobby or you can call me zimmy/ you can call me r.j. or you can call me ray”

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Ok, “Driving Miss Daisy” was funny, let it slide. “Django unchained” was offensive, but Swaggy is a loose cannon so whatever. But Kobe’s season ending injury being “a blessing in disguise.” That’s not only insulting, it’s mean-spirited. You don’t have to be Kobe to get really pissed at that. So if Kobe allows Swaggy to remain a Laker next season, Kobe’s bark is much worse than his bite. I’d be very surprised if NY is not traded away this offseason.

  • Dan Cohen

    I’m the 1762nd.

  • it sounds like Mark is following more Lin fans lately.
He followed JLinPortal ~ 2 weeks ago and been talking to Nathan Gottlieb on DMs.

I’m curious why he follows more Lin fans for the last 9-15 games?

  • 1mtoldman

“ill be watching you”… (every step you take)

  • blubell

    To understand Jeremy more?

  • or to follow Lin to the next team LOL

  • blubell

    Creepy Mark… lol.

  • 1mtoldman

i thought she meant he would be following her.

  • blubell

    LOL. Escape LAL!

  • Mark could be thinking, “I can’t stand this tanking ANYMOREEE …. Give me LinPrime next year & I’ll do his biography” hehe..

  • Brent Yen

    Oh…..com’on…..@disqus_zDgJ5zJRLn:disqus ….gotta be positive…

  • he already did but Mark might want to follow Lin, his fans and his new team next season.
We should welcome him with open arms!

Randall has not done jack for Lakers. Not sure why they are so high on him.

  • wandertheglobe

Possibly, he and BS seem to butt head.

  • Rookie75094

Jlin will bust the tank ….. and tears will flow in laker ground. …hahaha

  • Keith

Jeremy Lin is trending . hmm.

  • wandertheglobe

Ellington is BS’s type of player. They had history since the days in CLE.

  • Rookie75094

Rpg17 weapon loaded…. ready for action tonight!!!

  • Acbc

Yes we are peasantly surprised. Lol

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe he’s learning that Lin fans actually know what they’re talking about. Especially after Pablo Torre’s article summarizing everything we’ve been saying for 3 years.

  • Rookie75094

Didn’t Simon and Garfunkel have a song that has a lyric says” you can call me (whatever..) but don’t call me ray”?

  • Acbc

Or he’s got the Mark of a creep! Lol

  • Marie Simon

He’s more truthful than the others, and good- looking too:)

  • Acbc

That wasn’t a bad movie “Escape from LA” Only this time it’s not Kurt Russell who is the “Snake”, it’s Lin busting out.

  • Acbc

Could be! They get to sell tickets and then pull the “April fools” on the fans who showed up to watch Lin play. Pretty devious.

  • FrankW

That was a fun show. Strange, Chuck said he was a hit man for the CIA or something to that effect.

  • FrankW

    ESP

  • FrankW

You’re the obsessive police checking on an X?

  • 1mtoldman

the tweet there is missing the part “non-guaranteed” after this year.

ie. they can’t just keep signing someone to 10 day contracts.

so they have to give them a contract beyond this year but only the remainder of this year is guaranteed.

  • 1mtoldman

just to clarify something on the brown signing the tweet below does include the part reported elsewhere “non guaranteed” after this year.

  • I got a good feeling LinPrime-ed to hunt some Pelicans =]

  • and how about the pheasants (Pelicans)? =]

  • that’s why he can identify with JLin .. as good-looking people that are often misunderstood LOL

  • hm, true … It’s 1-0 now so why not 10-0 hehe..
Noone can deny that it would be a miracle!

  • Lin is definitely being heavily promoted to sell games.
Assistant Coach Jim Eyen discussed how Lakers need to contain Anthony Davis & the Pelicans.

  • thanks, I see there are so many articles being retweeted, not due to single one news.
So this is a really good sign!

  • On this between-the-leg assist by JLin, I think it wasn’t showcased on media because even announcers missed it.
Lin makes the spectacular play look so easy. If Lin wants to be flashy and turn his head, it would be a highlight clip

    https://twitter.com/zukovka/status/583357758956802048

  • CJSHYY

Ya! I think so… It’s a 2 years deal I guess? Why did not show the price for the contract? I think it’s low…

  • I think the writer is smart to plant some thoughts in Mark Cuban’s head

  • she should .. other-wise it won’t be a honeymoon LOL

  • CJSHYY

Even it’s not real story but I guess maybe Mav do like Lin?! Hope so.

  • at least we know Rick Carlisle had a high opinion of Lin, and Parsons is there.
If Lin’s name come up in the conversation before summer FA between Rick and Cuban, that’s all we can hope for

  • CJSHYY

That help for sure. But I thought Cuban likes Rondo? I hope they lose in first round playoff then they will not keep Rondo. LOL!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

It’s an April Fools……for now. Lin will be so good for the Mavs. He will and can balance their stars and talents.

Lin knows T Chandler, Parsons very well. He practiced together with Ellis last summer and best of all Dirk’s shooting alone can give Lin 5 assists per game.

  • CJSHYY

I hope no Ellis. He is worst than Harden & like Kobe ISO a lot.. NO.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

If he declines the option this summer. He can shoot well but too abusive even no good look shot.

  • CJSHYY

I read so many news all said he wants to option out. But don’t know where he will go? Hope not in the same team w Lin. LOL!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Wow so he wants more money. Let see how they do in playoff.

  • Briiick

    Great !

  • then Lakers managed to “get” Rondo
    that’ll be even better!

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He wants to get more money for sure. Not sure where can he go? I hope they lose in playoff then Ellis & Rondo both will out. LOL!

  • webattorney

I just read that Lin has been selected to play for USA BB Team for next Olympics. Great news!

    Go Jeremy!

  • joyce ward

Anybody think Lin changing his website with no Laker display think that it is a power move from Lin’s camp?….just sayin….

  • GoodDayLA

I think they are low rent, young players to put around Kobe next season and they have some upside. Because they are low rent, like you say they could easily be moved, bought out, or cut depending on the market and Kobe’s health.

  • GoodDayLA

Lin is not part of the future. THank goodness

  • GoodDayLA

    Under Armour is #2

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Steve Nash was waived by LA Lakers to make room for Jabrai Brown.
This is a sick move from a rotten organization. Steve Nash had helped Jordon Clarkson and right after that they waive him for a D-leaguer. I thought they should at least retire Steve Nash as a Laker. The return of waiving is minimal but the attitude of Lakers is horrible. I really don’t think Jabrai Brown is worth this much.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Not sure what it means. However, he uses Adidas pic says a lot. Who is definitely supporting him and who isn’t. This may say Lakers may not be in his vision of meeting his NBA goals.

  • Winner
  • Briiick

The F/O probably blames Nash for the recent and on-going damages Kobe did.

  • CJSHYY

I think Lakers & Nash both are not happy to each other for whatever between them.

  • Wandais38 .

without a question. I think he is trying to relay several messages. and I think one of those messages is that just because I don’t make a big stink does not mean I am stupid. I know for me that one of the worst things you can do is insult my intelligence.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

My guess would be the move was recommended by his agent.

  • Briiick

Yeah, it means the door is open.

BS has been a constant April Fool. Today I acknowledge all the foolish things he has done.

  • Samuel

really? only 9 games left, got to make as much money out of Lin as possible..

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Dallas vs OKC
Rick Carlisle excellent coaching stopping the OKC by calling outs many times.
    OKC lives by the 3s.
    Dallas:OKC 132:129 3 point lead.

  • 1mtoldman

it seems since the all star game every game is being played as if it was an all star game. defense is apparently entirely not only optional but passe. in all 7 completed games tonite at least one team scored a 100 points.

harden as i predicted had to go max westbrook tonite to get his 50 because sac city had 7 guys in double figures even with gay not playing.

speaking of westbrook; as i write this 3 guys 4 the okies including the masked marvel with 30; thats rite 3 guys with 30 2nite for 1 team (8 guys on the other team in double figures) and westbrook with 29 fga.s for his 30.
11 addtional players 2nite not referenced in any way above so far with 20 plus points.

    and the nite is young.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A foul and 2 FTS by OKC 132:131

  • JW

parson playing big in the 4th. clutch 2 pts. with less than 20 secs.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

OKC has Anthony Morrow who can hit 3s that really spaces the court for Westbrook.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I think Dallas will win by excellent coaching decisions.

  • JW

so much for westbrook’s triple double if u lose the game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Ellis hits a FT 4 points lead. Dallas has it won.

  • JW

parson earned his max salary for this game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A big offensive game that Dallas won against OKC.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He almost blew it by his offensive charge foul in the last minutes.

  • 1mtoldman

    dal vs. okc:

    266 points
    184 fga’s
    46 3’s
    57 ft’s

11 players in double figures; 5 with twenty or more 3 with 30 or more (all 3 on the same team!)

  • JW

i thought he was flopping trying to get a offensive foul on westbrook.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Parsons played a great game though specially in the 4Q

Lakers playing very well against the Pelicans!

  • sport

Wow that doesn’t sound right. Maybe players rely too much on their bigs for defense?

  • great game so far, they traded baskets

  • Briiick

The more he scores, the sooner they are eliminated in the playoff.

  • sport

Wow Clarkson actually playing very well, making every shot. Alot of ball movement for Lakers. Still want Lin to shoot more.

  • blubell

    Jeremy out 🙁

  • Dan Cohen

watch out.. you will be mark by mods here.

  • Lam

    Whos playing PG?

  • JW

they needed them all to win though.

  • stam

    clarkson.

  • sws94

    Very well so far.

  • JW

wonder if he got hit hard on the thigh with that foul.

  • stam

    i hope not!

  • very early with 5 min left.
He didn’t get hurt on that foul, right?

  • sws94

Might come back in when Clarkson rests.

  • Rick Johnson

Better than Hill taking all those long 2’s.

  • Unbelievable… Asik making every tough basket now instead of blowing assists like when he was with the Rockets.

  • I think he’s ok sitting on the bench,
Could just spacing his PT and Clarkson’s

  • blubell

I don’t think so. Maybe they’re easing him in… also helps with tanking lol.

  • sport

LOL just giving credit where credit is dude. Just don’t like it when Clarkson unfairly get more minutes and chuck up shots. If he’s efficient and getting assists I’m fine.

  • stam

Jlin will not have mins playing PG with clarkson playing so well.

  • Dan Cohen

lol…hey, I was giving him credits..but was accused of being a clarkson.

  • Clarkson knows he is the Lakers future, and his teammates know too. He’s playing with tons of confidence and poise out there. Triple double watch begins!

  • joyce ward

Stop trying to start crap. Ok. Just hangout and place nice…smh

  • sws94

Sure he will, he tends to play more PG when Clarkson is not on the floor with him.

  • Clarkson is actually playing well (7pts/5asts/5rebs in 9 min) and Pelicans D is surprisingly so porous.
Hope Lin will get to play majority of Q2

  • stam

he’s got a coach that is fully supportive of him so that helps. but yeah clarkson is doing well this game. might get a triple double.

  • Dan Cohen

hahhahah. not starting anything..just telling him to watch out.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Yea, Hope BS staggers Clarkson and Lin’s minutes so that each plays 50/50 at the point

  • stam

I hope they load up on clarkson with the D

  • ha, yes .. that would be 1 positive 😀

  • sport

Of course, Asik’s young so he will improve! Comparing Asik to Lakers bigs, I’d take Asik!

  • Dan Cohen

but I think lin still has the lingering infection.. so he might not play starter minutes…maybe 25 mins.

  • Grace Nsns

Hill’s in, no ED today it looks like.

  • stam

    Refs are understanding the Tank.

  • Rick Johnson

Should come back with Davis I would think. Hopefully Boozer not Hill.

  • sws94

The assists were impressive. In fact, they were Lin-like.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Black started hot 5/5 with 10 pts already in the 1st qtr

  • Dan Cohen

won’t he try jabari ..actually probably not.. he got a contract already… clarkson still have to ‘prove’ himself.

  • Grace Nsns

We’re not going to see D against Clarkson this season, scouting report for next year.

  • blubell
  • Dan Cohen

well.. if lin was ‘teaching’ him.. hope he give lin the credit.

  • sport

I’m surprised with both Davis and Asik their defense is horrible!

  • sws94

I think the kid is smart. He’s learning from both Lin and Nash. There is nothing wrong with how he is playing now at all.

  • blubell
  • stam

That guy just shot over jhill, no defense what so ever.

  • sws94

Scott is a moron. There’s no excuse for not playing big Ed.

  • sport

Geez so many Clarkson fan boys on nbaliveonline already saying his advanced stats are better than Wiggins and that if he started since day one he’d be Rookie of the year. I guess that’s what happens when one gets load of minutes and lots of points.

  • Briiick

Opponents know LAL aren’t serious so they don’t defend them like they are.

  • stam

Damn this guy has everything going for him tonight.

  • blubell
  • Rick Johnson

But they are only 2 points ahead. Seems like they aren’t doing well on the defensive end.

  • leeda harun

    how is jlin so far

  • stam

They need to start defending this guy.

  • sport

Very true, I’ve noticed that Lakers’ defense disappeared once Lin sat!

  • Dan Cohen

kobe is here for sure that is not a decision… that’s a guarantee.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Lin: OK, I am out of here

  • Grace Nsns

It happens. Pelicans played no D, can’t believe it.

  • I think Lin made their decisions easier by removing the Lakers jersey pic on his website

  • Lin started the 2nd quarter

  • Sunny Sullenberger

C’mon, Scott, Clarkson played 12 min. already,
    Lin time

  • Sunny Sullenberger

there we go, Lin, beat the rookie in every aspect

  • sport

Lin starting 2nd quarter, staggered minutes between Lin and Clarkson conintues!

  • Kobe is staring with empty eyes .. probably thinking how he will put Clarkson in his place next season

  • blubell

Haha. Hill picking up Jeremy 🙂

  • Brewkowski

He got upset when they signed rondo.

  • blubell

    Yes! got the bounce 🙂

  • sport

Ouch that was a hard foul on Lin by Tony Douglas?

  • grover chang

    Toney Douglas, good guy.

  • stam

    Yes. nice shot.

  • Rene#17

Nice step back jumper for lin.

  • Woohoo.. nice bounce to get Lin’s jumpshot in!

  • Rick Johnson

Get Davis in, need some interior defense.

  • sport

Hate seeing Lin play with lazy Hill who just holds the ball and stops movement! Hill also horrible on defense!

  • blubell

    Tanking tonight so no Davis.

  • CJSHYY

I guess more about he didn’t want to sign the player’s option for next season. smh!

  • blubell

Tony Douglas is playing very aggressive D on Jeremy.

  • sport

So unfair, Clarkson gets to play with Tarik Black for easy assists while Lin’s stuck with Booz and Lazy Hill.

  • Toney Douglas remembers the NY Linsanity times. He was glued to the bench.

  • blubell

Yeah, nobody was running with Jeremy on the fast break.

  • stam

Lin is playing with the tanking crew. This is terrible.

  • blubell

He finished the game in Houston over Jeremy so…

  • stam

That guy is playing really good defense on lin.

  • joyce ward

Lin got to figure it out. Hope he figures it out soon.

  • blubell

Good. Tarik is in. Hill and Boozer out!

  • sport

The unit Lin’s playing with is ISO unit, no teamball at all!!

  • grover chang

Don’t pass too hill. He’s a black hole. Just use him as a screen.

  • Norris Cole is a good player. He was part of the Heat team that focused on shutting Lin down during Linsanity.

  • sport

Finally most of the starters are back in!!

  • stam

    Ok ain’t that a foul?

  • blubell
  • sport

Except Hill doesn’t like making screens!

  • sport

No foul call for Lin. =/

  • blubell
  • Good drive by Lin following an unaware Asik but Davis athleticism got it blocked

  • sws94

He plays that type of D. He played D like that when he was with Houston and Lin’s teammate.

  • Brent Yen

    Lol….that is what ad does…

  • That’s Davis’ specialty, no shame in that. I liked that Lin took it to the basket.

  • I think Lin’s not 100% yet out there but it’s good he tried to get his rhythm going

  • QuietLinFan

    Is Davis still not playing?

  • grover chang

Drive toward him so he becomes a screen

  • joyce ward

Lin is fine, he just doesn’t have any help.

  • blubell

Jeremy is playing the whole quarter?

  • CJSHYY

This Q is not finished yet.

  • sport

Lin not getting to be PG at all this game. Ellington and Clarkson handling the ball =/

  • joyce ward

I hope he gets his points, because this whole team is a black hole right now.

  • Lin doesn’t have the hops today. Those two games he was out and the infection really hurt his NBA game conditioning.

  • sws94

Lin’s got to try floaters or pull up 2s. Too many shot blockers on the Pelicans.

  • Davis is certainly not out there to help..
This tanking business is so irritating

  • sport

Yea these selfish teammates are frustrating!

  • it does take time to get back in the flow
that’s why he didn’t want to miss any games

  • CJSHYY

    Pl just missed some shots…

  • blubell
  • sport

All no calls credited as blocks for Pelicans SMH.

  • I also like the aggressiveness

  • Grace Nsns

    LIn out.

  • blubell
  • blubell

    I’m out too 🙂

  • joyce ward

I hope he figures it out and comes out and plays a good second half.

  • Briiick

    To fuel the tank.

  • Briiick

    BS can’t stop the tank.

  • pelican’s announcer just openly called out Scott as “old school.” They spoke about how his plays are predictable and archaic. Smh

  • blubell

I hope so too. But he looks a bit fatigued… I don’t think he is 100%.

  • sport

Wow Clarkson seriously on his way to a triple double, getting so much support and minutes. If only Lin got that kind of support and minutes as a starter.

  • blubell

    Good.

  • blubell
  • sws94

Might not be his night. He looks fatigued as you said. I think he should outrun his defender taking the ball up because both Cole and Toney Douglas are hounding type of defenders making him work harder.

  • Brent Yen

    Lin looks quick…..not bad..

  • sws94

He’s playing well. Yes, he gets support but he’s earning his minutes. This isn’t his board though, it’s Lin and that’s who I’m paying attention to.

  • Briiick

MCW was doing similar things for the 76ers a year ago. Tanking teams need a distracter.

  • blubell
  • Yascar

Good on him. Finish line that counts though and let’s hope Lin gets his own opportunities and make them count.

  • CJSHYY

    As usual no.

  • BobbyH

Wait and see how Lin adjusts in 2nd half.

  • blubell

I agree, he is just fatigued. BS minute management is horrendous,

  • Brent Yen

    By sitting more…..jk……

  • BobbyH

    That’s BS adjustment.

  • sws94

But something isn’t quite there. He’s getting his shot blocked. He has to do something different in the 2nd half to throw off NO’s D.

  • Briiick

    No PnR.

  • LAJane

Wow. Yeah, good. Maybe the Torre article pushed that truth out of the weeds of “excuses” and into the harsh glare of reality.

  • sws94

No Davis. Hill and Boozer are pseudo-post players, jump shooters, and often black holes.

  • blubell
  • Nice to hear that some announcers are willing to call it like it is. Not willing to kowtow to someone with outdated knowledge of the game.

  • joyce ward

Come on Lin, do your thing in the second half.

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

Nop is just keyed in on lin…picked him up from back court all the way to the rim…not a big deal really. Time to let others shine….as long as they can make themselves available to lin..

  • sport

Might give up on this game, Lin not quite in rhythm after missing 2 games.

  • Brent Yen

    He will be fine..

  • could also explain the difficulty that Lin (and the rest of the team) is experiencing. their plays are being easily read by the opposing teams because Byron is calling sets that are either overplayed or obsolete.

  • leeda harun

he is trying his best…adjustment again

  • sport

Hope so, he looks fatigued and not himself =/

  • blubell

Hey Joyce, are you going to see Jeremy for that WSS event on 4/11?

  • blubell

    Never give up on Jeremy!

  • CJSHYY

Did he handle the ball w/o JC on court w him?

  • joyce ward

No, I have a previous engagement that day:(

  • sport

Nope, Ellington doing alot of ball handling. Lin move around alot before getting the ball. Really not sure why they run these horrible sets of getting the ball out of Lin’s hands and force feeding bigs! These ugly plays are exactly why I want to give up this game if JLin isn’t playing well.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    NOP ready to defend Lin
Lin got to change his game.
    Maybe more Midrange Js?

  • blubell

Boooo… I was looking forward to seeing you there.

  • joyce ward

    LOL

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    Lin starts 3rd qtr

  • joyce ward

    Hope is ready.

  • CJSHYY

He will just like 1Q then out around 6 or 5 min left & comes back in 4Q again.

  • blubell

    How predictable is BS?

  • grover chang

Didn’t expect Lin to light it up. He did this in Houston. Usually look bad after not playing for awhile. The effort is always there. Lin never quits. Admire the heck out of this guy.

  • Grace Nsns

    Lin playing PG now?

  • blubell
  • blubell

    Finally, a foul!

  • Grace Nsns

    one miss, SMH

  • Guest

finally some calls going Lin’s way.

  • blubell

    oh well.

  • Grace Nsns

    ok he made the 2nd one, :-}

  • finally some calls going Lin’s way

  • sws94

    Lin’s just not right tonight.

  • 2nd floater falls too short. not typical of him

  • Keith

OK, Lin deserves to sit. He should sit.

  • blubell

He has the most shot attempt with 9…

  • Briiick

Lin is not even allowed to play a PG. I would rather Lin sit out scheduled tanking games like this one.

  • Brent Yen

    Lol…….man lin is so cold…

  • blubell

    Must warm him up 🙂

  • sws94

    When is the next game?

  • Keith

Everytime Kobe is in the building, Lin pplays badly ..hahaha

  • leeda harun

missing couple games…and comes back from ilness

  • LAJane

Get so much good stuff here that haven’t been on his web for a while, so didn’t know about the jersey change. I agree, that’s a pretty big message.

  • blubell

Jeremy is out… hope he plays in the 4th.

  • sport

Wow that was a very nice move by Asik!! He’s improved so much!

  • Brent Yen

    I was gonna say that…lol

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    Done tonight

  • sws94

His shots are really short, he’s laboring. If it is a blowout, he might as well sit.

  • joyce ward

lin always falls for the okie doke with this team. I think a lot of it falls on his stubbornness to play the game his way. Hopefully he will better next game. I just hate that he gives the haters pause when he plays like this..smh

  • LAJane

Especially when he is not getting the foul calls here. Just Say No to injuries.

  • I also don’t go there.
I only knew through a recent LibraFree tweet

  • webattorney

I think this was Lin’s worst game as a Lakers. Even worse than zero point games.

  • Brent Yen

I do not know….not much u can do if you can not make shots…lol….let’s hope a better next game..

  • Brent Yen

Not really, I do not think so.

  • Briiick

BS had planned to lose the game. No need to play in garbage minutes.

  • sport

Wow Boozer comes in to defend Davis and gets a steal from him!

  • webattorney

I think so. He didn’t shoot that much on other games, but this one, too many air balls, etc. Should have sat out.

  • any ideas? :]

  • blubell

Yeah. It is a must lose game.

  • joyce ward

I am not going that far. I think he is trying ,but he has to figure out a way to beat this archaic system,. He needs to adopt the attitude of getting his no matter what..

  • sws94

He had to see where he was. He’s not back yet.

  • blubell

You ask too many questions… lol.

  • LAJane

Haters are inevitable…like death and taxes ;-p But imho the league players and coaches have had their eyes opened to Jeremy. The cat is out of the bag regarding his skill. The haters are way behind the curve.

  • webattorney

Hope he sits out the rest of this season.

  • grover chang

Haters will always hate. Lin has to be perfect to shut haters up. That’s impossible.

  • sws94

I don’t think he has it physically tonight. He missed some bunnies and his balance looks off.

  • sport

BS has been losing games doesn’t mean Lin shouldn’t score and get his stats. But Lin’s not out of rhythm.

  • blubell
  • sws94

Actually Monte Williams has always been high on Lin’s game. He schemed to stop Lin, Lin is coming back from his illness, and so he’s not effective tonight. It’s not the last game of the season, he’ll be better next game.

  • joyce ward

He is not. I think lin will be at the top of his game next game.

  • JJ Hui

Of course Lin is cold! The bs coach didnt even play Lin/Davis together and you know what that means, bs coach doesn’t want Lin to look good, so he put Lin with all those tankers to lose the game and at the same time makes KB happy! 一石二鸟!

  • Briiick

Several techniques BS employed to tank this one: 1. ED doesn’t play; 2. Lin is not allowed to play the point very much; 3. No PnR.

  • sws94

    Why?

  • blubell
  • Keith

Even when Lin got 29 pnts (and won) 2 weeks ago , haters still come out and bash him.

  • Briiick

Playing you out of position will do the trick.

  • JJ Hui

Why Davis not playing? Is he offended BS or KB?

  • Sunny Sullenberger

It looks like JC is going to get his Double Double tonight

  • blubell

He refused to be part of the tank… i guess. lol.

  • leeda harun

guess so and he is helping lin

  • joyce ward

I agree., but Lin himself said he wanted to be a player that didn’t depend on a system. We all know this archaic system that Scott has is not working for him. Also it very telling when they have not played Davis for the last 3 games.

  • Briiick

Davis is the best weapon PG Lin can use to win games.

  • Briiick

In a blowout game ? LOL.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Boozer and Lin were away for a while and they need time to adjust.

Lakers are not defending anyone; just trading baskets.
    Still lags by 20 points.
Nothing works for Lakers. No defense.

  • joyce ward

This is all a part of the Laker’s plan for the bait and switch…smh

  • Brent Yen

    willl lin play in 4q?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They know Davis is not coming back so they bench him.

  • LAJane

Even if that were true, I don’t think it matters any more. The people who matter in the NBA already know his value. These last games are the wind-down to an already planned exit. Of course, as a fan I want to see LinPrime…but I think stat-padding now would just be extra decoration on an already-baked cake.

  • sport

You mean Clarkson’s trade bait, doesn’t seem like it but who knows. With Kobe still there next year, Clarkson won’t get to play like this.

  • leeda harun

more like the lakers can rely on their rookies now

  • Brent Yen

Air ball is not a bad thing…lol it is the same as misses…sit out is bad..

  • Grace Nsns

    Lin done for today?

  • sport

Clarkson’s on his way to triple double only need 3 more rebounds and 1 more assists.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

If LaKERS KEEPS ON LOSING MORE!
    noW 25 POINTS.

  • joyce ward

You are such a lin critic that yo take it to the extreme. Why even pretend you are a lin fan. you jump on every band wagon of criticism of Lin’s game. This game was a set up for lin for him not handling the ball most of the time and defense loading up on him. Trust me, I am not giving Lin any excuses, but sometimes he gets caught in the okie doke of scott and it takes him awhile to figure it out.

  • joyce ward

Who cares. Lin needs to sit, not his best today.

  • KL

I think pairing Lin and Clarkson, helps Clarkson but makes it harder for Lin.

  • sws94

Probably, he was struggling on the floor.

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

Clarkson’s offense doesn’t help the Lakers much.
The team still got blown out,.

  • Briiick

76ers padded the stats of a cheap distracter in MCW a year ago to get the attention away from tanking. LAL are taking the same page, opponents could be collaborating.

  • leeda harun

that means the offense is predictable

  • sws94

Clarkson has had a superb game. The defense of the Lakers is garbage and Davis isn’t in. Not much more Clarkson can do.

  • sport

Of course cause it takes the ball out of Lin’s hands where it’s obvious he plays better when he’s the sole PG and ball handler!

  • joyce ward

The problem with lin is that NBA only cares about stats. He needs to develop that mindset.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    I tend to agree.
JC got 10 assists and 18 pts already
But for Lin tonight it is just that his shots are not falling

  • Kwok Wai Lai

At least he didn’t turn over the ball.
Both Boozer and him need time to get their body ready for game time.

  • Keith

    Someone agrees w/ me

Seriously, when Kobe is at the game, Lin seems to always play poorly.

  • Upper respiratory infections can also cause vestibular cochlear issues that in turn affect one’s sense of balance.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That means Pelicans can do whatever they want.

  • joyce ward

Of course he does, when it is set up for him to look good. It is saying to the Laker fans that they don’t need lin, Clarkson is better and cheaper.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

NO is just using their 2nd team.

  • sws94

He’s younger and cheaper. I doubt many people think he’s better.

  • blubell

    Jeremy is in!

  • LAJane

I take that ambition of his very seriously. I think it’s genius correct, and he’s already accomplished that more than most players conceive of or are able to execute. But not depending on a particular system is not the same thing as trying to pull a system out of your backside when there is either no leadership, or active effort to make any system fail (tanking), and enough playmates who are young/lazy/unskilled that you can’t herd them into being a team. He’ll never be satisfied, but if he weren’t doing a great job making something out of almost nothing, then you wouldn’t have all other teams focusing their planning on stopping him. They know.

  • it is on like donkey kong

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Lin is in.

  • Lin is in with 7:31 left in Q4

  • joyce ward

IF you are in, at least get your points…smh

  • blubell

no triple double for the rookie tonight.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hope Lakers play some D.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Wow, Lin’s back on the court

  • leeda harun

    as in houston days again…

  • BobbyH

Garbage time. Everyone plays for himself.

  • blubell

    Assist!

  • sport

Yes! Been saying this past 3 seasons already, Lin needs to accept that because of his unfair treatment he always need to get his before everyone else! Also he needs to get high average of 20+ PPG if he ever wants to be an allstar.

  • joyce ward

Oh you be surprised at how some fans don’t know anything about bball, but they go by the eye test..

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The point is not just to score but narrow the margin.

  • whew!
Boozer’s shot crawled in that basket. +1 assist

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Ln and Boozer will have the chemistry though.

  • Brent Yen

Lol…JC will hate bs forever if he does not get to come in again..

  • sport

Yup! Just look at all the hype and mentioning of Clarkson by Lakers fans on chatbox for http://nbaliveonline.tv

  • it might be too late to make a run but yes some D for a mini-run would be good

  • blubell

    Excellent…

  • KL

Lin has had some of his best games without Clarkson on the floor. I think Clarkson’s defense is suspect and his movement off the ball is bad. But he is a good scorer and he benefits when the defense keys in on Lin.

  • BobbyH

    Who is the boss?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

JC got his most negative +/- -14

  • sport

LOL JC only needs 3 rebounds for a triple double! I’d be mad too!

  • he’ll be back in with 3 min left to get 3 rebs :]

  • sws94

Look, Byron should let Clarkson finish and try to get the triple double. It would be wrong to not bring him back in. Lin should be in for a Clarkson breather and then let Lin rest for the next game.

  • leeda harun

the rookie need to understand his gothis stats..let others do the same

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hope to get back to single digit behind.

  • sport

Yup it’d be unfair if Clarkson doesn’t get his triple double cause BS sat him!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

NO sent in their first string PG.

  • ROFL

  • Briiick

    As always.

  • blubell

    Boooozer.

  • sws94

    Terrible, Boozer.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hope Lin do well on defense.

  • blubell

    What the Hill?

  • Lin got a loose rebound 😀

  • Brent Yen

    Lol…that three…..omg…hill

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He’s just like Lin just recovering from sickness.

  • that fast break led by boozer wasn’t much prettier 😛

  • Grace Nsns

    ?? I didn’t got to see that.

  • blubell

and that is a good thing 🙂

  • Brent Yen

Lol….lin was like….what heck. No one picks up the ball?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

YOur center got 16 points but only 2 rebounds!!! That’s pathetic.

  • Rick Johnson

A Davis out stat padding time

  • blubell

    Nice fake!

  • SWEET!

  • smart play!

  • joyce ward

lin knoiws how lazy they are. Don’t get caught in this drama with them…smh.

  • blubell

    Smart man!

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Anthony Davis off the court, Lin scores

  • Brent Yen

    I agree with u this time…that is unnecessary…he did it anyway….

  • sport

Looks like Lin will get to finish games so long as the game is already lost. Poor Clarkson there goes his triple double, so close.

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

    How many tov lin had?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Well Lin and Boozer needs more time to recover. This game is just OK because both are not at their prime condition.

  • blubell

    0 🙂

  • Brent Yen

    Nice..

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nice to see Lin develop some skill 1 on 1; less dependent on teammates.

  • sport

Lin didn’t really get to play PG this game, only 3 assists.

  • CJSHYY

    Did Lin play PG?

  • stam

Lin took a lot of contact and he should have gotten foul shots.

  • Brent Yen

    Lin called a triangle, why?

  • a little tired of seeing kelly chuck the ball

  • Kwok Wai Lai

At least Lin is not forcing things and not making mistakes.

  • joyce ward

How many points does lin have?

  • stam

    7 points.

  • Brent Yen

    7?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    7 Pts

  • stam

    hopefully 9 with 2 ft.

  • Brent Yen

    Lin is back..

  • blubell

    Made both FT.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin might just get his double digit scoring.

  • sport

Lin stat padding time, 9 points.

  • I like FTs .. especially Lin’s =)

  • Grace Nsns

    9pt! 1 more please!

  • stam

ellington deserves those shots cause he came up with the defensive play.

  • CJSHYY

Not sure this true or not..

  • stam

I really hope so, wish he had more time.

  • leeda harun

    what is itall about…please translate

  • blubell

    More FT!

  • BobbyH

    Euro step?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin just plays with the flow of the game; that’s good. He didn’t make silly mistake. He just follow the flow of the game and not forcing things.

  • Brent Yen

    Lol…common..

  • stam

DAMN wish he made the 1st ft!

  • blubell

At least he is in double figure…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin got his 10 points; what is to complain.

  • Not his night. No rhythm

  • joyce ward

He needs at least 15 points

  • CJSHYY

Worthy said Lakers should build around Lin & Davis?… BS said he is out of date that should take more 3P shots? But why tonight Lin is not PG?!

When reporter asked Lin about Worthy’s comment? Lin said he just wants to have strong finish for the end of this season.

  • holy moly was that Toney douglas?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

We all know that Jeremy is not 100%. That’s OK. He didn’t force thing in the 2nd half. No TOs.

  • stam

Lin could have been selfish and gotten 2 more FT but he gave it up. that shows how unselfish he is.

  • Briiick

    April fool ! Ignore it.

  • Keith

    Double figures. Not his worst.

  • sport

Lin’s too nice, let rookie Jabari Brown take most of the shots towards the end while he should’ve taken that last shot.

  • yes, it’s decent for a 1st game back after 2 game-absence.
Let’s see if he still has lingering URI impact in post-game interview

  • Keith

    He is different player today

  • yup, back from China .. good for him to find a spot in the NBA again

  • stam

Did he look slow during the game?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Well this is his first game back from sickness. He needs time to pick up his speed and his reflex for the game.
He didn’t force things. He played as well as Jabrai Brown and Ellington.

  • sport

So obvious he wanted to get Brown some points but rookie was a trainwreck at the rim every time.

  • blubell
  • sws94

His foot speed was OK, his strength wasn’t there on finishing and shooting. When he got to the rim 3 times he was blocked so he used his fake in the 2nd half.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah he got blocked 3 times on his shots. That hasn’t happended before.

  • blubell
  • stam

He took heavy contact during his layups and should have gotten free throws…

  • Keith

I know haters are not going to look at +/- , but Lin is not the worst considered he has one of his bad shooting night.

  • sport

So true! except they were credited as blocks for Pelicans when they were obvious fouls!

  • stam

He’s probably not 100% yet. hope he feels better!

  • sws94

Definitely not 100 percent. Not really close to it.

  • I think you’re right. He couldn’t quite finish strong although the quickness was there.
Something was just a little off, it could just be the rhythm.

  • HeroBallJLIN

There were these 2 shots where Lin was very close to the rim and just totally came up short. Was some hesitation on those shots. Looked a little indecisive on those shots. He didn’t know if he wanted to take the shot or not.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Even at a poor outing, Lin actually improves and maintains his poise in the game. He made steal but not TO.
He had upper respiratory infection and that would hold him back a little on his strength. Give him 2 more days of rest, he would be back to normal.

  • joyce ward

He should have taken the shots..smh

  • Brent Yen

The last 3 minutes were pretty enjoyable…lol

  • stam

I am surprised BS didn’t play clarkson more… if he wanted to kill Lin’s confidence he could have sat him through the 4th

  • Keith

Yeah, if Lin’s last game is Bryant, he would sit out and call everyone “soft” . Still love the old Kobe tho.

  • Brent Yen

Not gonna work on Lin. JC sat because Kobe is there

  • Briiick

Stats are like fad. They are negative if they don’t help winning.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With around 28 minutes, Lin’s +/- is equal to the team average; not the worst and in fact is the better one.

  • was probably shocked there was no contact (elbow to the nose, knee to the ribs, etc). He seems to prefer to draw some contact, then adjusts the timing of his shot depending upon the amount of contact anticipated

  • blubell
  • Kianainhi

After I tweeted this, JC got pulled. lol

  • blubell
  • HeroBallJLIN

Clarkson the worst +/- but he played good today. Good for the kid

  • sport

Lin’s too unselfish, need to really change his mindset and just look out for him! He’s already at a disadvantage cause of the discrimination he receives. Need high PPG and stats to prove he’s a star. Somehow Lin doesn’t have that mentality to just score and forget about everything else. He worries too much about other teammates when he should worry about his own scoring first.

  • blubell

    Good job 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Clarkson with more minutes will go down on his +/-. Right now he is already among the worst +/-; none is worse than him. Only two others are equal.

  • you are a glass half full kind of guy. Right on ^_^

  • Kianainhi

BS is bs again. Didn’t he say that JC would be coming off bench at the 10 game mark? I guess coach trying to get him ROY or on the rookie team.

  • HeroBallJLIN

It also looked like his legs were providing the lift he is used to because he didn’t play a few days and was sick. Lin is probably still sick.

  • That is no small feat! Always felt his game was under appreciated.

  • with limited minutes, must be next to impossible to showcase his skills but that steal and lay up was nice! quick and fluid!

  • joyce ward

I predict that kobe is going to stop the Clarkson love and let lin play his game because lin is not coming back. Kobe is an egomanic, he doesn’t want the fans to get to hyped about Clarkson, that is why they let lin play the 4th quarter.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Normally you would expect Lin to turn over the ball a bit after 2 games away from sickness and is not 100%.
But Lin is getting his control and cool not to make things worse. He’s playing within himself and not trying to play exceeding himself to cause mistakes.
That’s a fine game for him. He learns to play well even in adverse situation. He plays teamwork and shares the ball even when the situation is bad.

  • sport

LOL no wonder JC didn’t get his triple double. JC won’t get this kind of treatment next season if Kobe’s there. But it’s obvious Kobe won’t finish next season.

  • Briiick

Guess BS still couldn’t get his boss’ idea 100% right.

  • Scott probably felt the heat of Kobes death stare glaring down on him for letting Clarkson shine

  • sport

Lin also didn’t get to handle the ball until fourth quarter. Clarkson and Ellington played PG while Lin was mostly SG this game.

  • stam

I can see your point, but I think one of the reasons he is unselfish is because he wants his team to trust him and if he can get his team going, then it could be linsanity 2.0.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah. There is no more point in dissing Jeremy while Jordon Clarkson is a newly threat to steal his thunder.

  • stam

    Like!

  • joyce ward

Look, Il ove lin, but lin understands that he gets no freebies in this league and that is why he needs figure out a way to outsmart Scott. I think he will do better in the next game. He needs to get his starts and get the h3ll out of dodge. He needs to tune out kobe.

  • Kianainhi

I tend to agree on this because it was a head scratcher why JC was pulled.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A poor +/- rating tells us that he’s not helping the team by trading baskets.

  • stam

yeah, it might be possible that kobe affects his ability to play. If that is the case, it would be great if Lin can use that pressure to his advantage.

  • Briiick

BS was too afraid to win it by accident.

  • sport

Yes there love for Clarkson is immense, so much mentioning of him during live chatbox on http://nbaliveonline.tv and comparing him to Wiggins. I sure Clarkson will be unhappy cause he only needed 3 more rebounds for a triple double. If BS did pull him unfairly, the hype for him would become even higher!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Forget about Kobe, he’s an over and out shrinking asset of the Laker.

  • tin3ytina

he had a couple of almost TOs, but luckily they were saved by teammates! whew!

  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

    The strength was not 100%.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I think Lin could have gotten 18 points this game. He had two shot blocked in the paint, if he got the calls he could have shot 4 free throws. Not sure how clean those blocks were. Also Lin missed two easy shots in the paint (came up short). If he made these shots Lin would have had an excellent game.

  • Kianainhi

Ed Davis must be mad. This is the 3 game DNP. He’s outta LAL.

  • stam

    yeah i agree.

  • Logic is, after all, overrated. SMH

  • blubell

    Hopefully with Jeremy 🙂

  • sport

I don’t even think Kobe talks to him anymore, I could be wrong though.

  • stam

Yep, with Lin we can call it racism, with Ed davis, we can call it tank.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jabrai only got 6 points. Lin is fine with 10. Helping out his teammate is just like helping himself. That creates team chemistry.

  • joyce ward

Also, kobe knows how good lin is, and also lin was a threat to his place in China. Also Kobe is trying to make peace with Lin because his fans in China are giving him the side eye because of his treatment of lin. Kobe is trying to make peace with lin because he knows he has too if he wants to keep his fans in China.

  • He is probably thinking the same thing right now and have to put it out of his mind tonight.

  • stam

    don’t forget stats lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hope Thunders continue to loss more games for NO to go to playoff.

  • blubell
  • Briiick

This does remind me the Bev promotion when Haren felt Lin outshine him.

  • HeroBallJLIN

If Lin was not getting over his cold, Lin could have had the speed and vertical to make those shots.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

ain’t using no logic? hahaha, he is really making a fool of himself

  • That would explain why he’s rated #31 of 32 coaches

  • stam

yeah because he uses a magic 8 ball.

  • HeroBallJLIN

BS uses his gut to make most of his decisions.

  • Friggin Ron Burgundy of BBall coaches. Bases his decisions on a whim and a glass of burboun

  • stam

    Yep was lucky there!

  • sport

I hope Lin and Ed Davis joins forces on their next team! They will be a deadly duo.

  • sws94

That’s obvious. And it is amazing that he said that and doesn’t realize how he sounds.

  • sws94

    Just what we thought.

  • HeroBallJLIN

you don’t think Clarkson played well?

  • Sunny Sullenberger

I think Scott is actually smarter than people think.
At least he makes you wonder when he means what he says and when he doesn’t

  • blubell

He doesn’t think and communicate with the players. This is not coaching. He doesn’t belong in this league… or any league.

  • joyce ward

Lin is out of the Lakers. I get it that he is unselfish, but sometimes his unselfishness leads to bad play for the team. He needs to figure that out.

  • HeroBallJLIN

for some reason every time Ellington handles the ball, I can’t stand it. He rarely passes and only pass when he is forced to. Ellington is a streaky shooter and not much of a team player.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The legs are still not giving him the push to finish. I don’t think anyone could recover sooner than him. He looked horrible with sinus congestion just a few days ago.

  • DKWTTY

Power move? LOL! Espn just ranked him 28 out of 30. We have Clarkson, no one wants overrated Lin!

  • I thought he was being sarcastic at first. Id have to watch his face and listen to his interview to know

  • stam

    LOL

  • blubell
  • tin3ytina

LOL! yeah, byron is either REALLY dumb, or pretty sharp. i can’t figure it out tho. he seems to be playing dumb really, really well though.

  • stam

Clarkson does do well with the putbacks.

  • blubell

He is playing his part in the tank i guess.

  • tin3ytina

do not respond to trolls. they like the attention!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He shot well and played well but he’s not helping the team as usual.
The margin of losing stays with his shots going in.
You expect the team would pick up after his good shooting but this hasn’t happened.
A PG should help the team narrow the margin by picking up the effort.
He doesn’t have this kind of leadership.

  • stam

it is utterly ridiculous that he got no foul call for that.

  • blubell

Why would you put yourself through that… twice? LOL. Take one for the team 🙂

  • joyce ward

Scott is not amart. Listen to his what he says, he sounds like an idiot. It is the NBA that doesn’t call out idiot coaches like it some kind of creed.

  • Keith

No one respond to trolls. They are gonna be raid a minute they post.

  • blubell

    LOL

  • One in particular is starving for attention, apparently. Had nothing better to do but post that silly remark. LOL

  • tin3ytina

he played well. the whole team stunk though. clarkson and black were the only ones in the game offensively. on defense, pretty much everyone sucked

  • tin3ytina

lol… yeah, some people are more obsessed with jlin than the fans! it’s actually very flattering for lin

  • Kwok Wai Lai

So I just ignore that thing!

  • Keith

The team uses "mild," "moderate" and "severe" to classify injuries like this. Good news for Ellington is this is of the "mild" variety.— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) April 2, 2015

  • CJSHYY

BS is bs for sure but I think this article it’s not real. What he said just from most of Lin’s fans wish… LOL!

  • blubell

Just flag and move on. After 5 posters mark post as spam, it will be automatically deleted.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL If I can do the rating, BS will be 31 out of 30 teams:-)

  • Truly, I have heard enough rubbish for one season. Cannot stand his personality, his obsession with Kobe, and his preoccupation with the way BBall used to be played during his generation

  • JoeTeam

Well. One respected poster in KHuang left here because some of us would not let him over amp the racist angle. It’s there, but not worth wailing about every time and you make a good point. Surely Davis is not on the bench for his race in the NBA.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Keep on ignoring him.
Now he’s so anxious that he may jump off the cliff and finishes himself off.

  • stam

LMAO – he’s probably known in the league as the tank specialist – he tries to win but he’s so bad that you can only hire him if you want to tank.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Your Idol Kobe called ESPN staff idiots.

  • blubell

I hear ya. We’ll get through this together!

  • tin3ytina

yeah i know. i mean.. people must be obsessed with lin, enough to look for this page and come comment? that’s just a new low for some people.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Good advice. Just ignore him and let him cry over it.

  • tin3ytina

    hope he’s okay!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL Yes I’ve rated him this since early season:-) Just he is getting even worse than I thought he is:-(

  • Keith

They sound mad when Lin is loved and admired by his fans. That’s called “jealous”

  • sws94

Yep, get strong Jeremy. Take care of yourself.

  • blubell

    Post game interview

  • Sad child is looking for a fight. Perhaps to take out his dissatisfaction with his own life on others. Has to put others down in order to feel better about his own insecurities. i feel sorry for him already

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How come you can use the word dumb and I can’t.

  • the troll has been blacklisted for spewing hatred and insults.
When the email address proudly says ‘hater’, it’s pretty clear what their goal is.
    Trolling won’t be tolerated here

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Just did the down voted. If 5 people, the post will be gone for good:-)

  • Briiick

Stats are like fad. They are meaningless or even negative when they don’t help winning. LAL are taking a page from 76ers last season to pad a cheap distracter to try to shift focus away from tanking. Can Kobe approve it next season ? LOL.

  • sws94

I don’t think he’s smart either. He thinks he’s making a good, strong coaches statement when it is anything but.

  • blubell

You have to flag not down vote.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

His PER is already over 20. Every time he’s on the court, he is improving on it. Byron would not like that.
He would rather have Tarik Black getting 2 rebounds for the game as center; I’m sorry, it’s 3.

  • sws94

With Ed, he’s trying to show who is boss. Ed must think he’s a joke now. And not a funny one.

  • CJSHYY

Only 8 games to go. After tonight’s game, I think Lin really will not stay bc this the game will be like w Kobe back on court w him if Lin stays w Lakers. Not a real PG but just SG. Everything will be the same like this season.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I have been calling him out as irrational and unreasonable not without evidence.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

WOW. That’s quick. Thanks! I missed the interview. Listen to it now.

  • JoeTeam

ED is too good for this team, just like Lin. I’d say Booz played pretty well this year too, and he sat a few spells. SwaggyP was fun, and I’d say his benching was more his attitude. He certainly helps the tank on his ‘hot’ days.

  • Brent Yen

Nope, things will be worse, because next season Scott and Kobe have a whole preseason to gameplan Lin

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL JLin: We are equally mad as we also lost game.

  • Briiick

It’s a 3&D corner guard like what Rox used to restrict him into when Haren got insecure.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    Love Lin’s humor
“Hey, we lost a game too, so we are probably equally mad!” LOL

  • This is why i switched from the other blog site. Could not stand the negativity after a while.

  • CJSHYY

Also BS probably told JC to play like a PG to let Kobe see what he can do as a PG… so no matter what FO promised Lin, sooner or later, Lin will be replaced by JC next season if he stays w Lakers.

  • tin3ytina

yes, exactly!!! poor guy.. probably had a really bad childhood. maybe didn’t get enough love in his life.. 🙁

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He needs nothing to make his decision. It just comes and goes whenever and whatever he seems he finds it in his mind. There isn’t much he can say. That’s why he often shot himself at his foot.

  • tin3ytina

    what do you mean?

  • CJSHYY

Ya! W Randle not Davis next to Kobe… this team sucks. I guess Davis will not stay… that’s why no more promotion for him anymore but only DNP.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The future all-star JC is hard for the Kobe to swallow specially at the dusk of his career.

  • blubell

His interviews are the best! We should keep records of his humor. Linism. lol.

  • ra

hey we might not have to wait until july to find out where JLin is going. new coach normally get hired before the draft, hopefully MDA has been hired by then.

  • blubell

    Hmmm… I don’t think we gave you a proper welcome… WELCOME 🙂

  • your complete email information is not being revealed

  • tin3ytina

it’s safe to say that lakers are not going to ask for lin to come back. just being real here. and even if asked for some reason, lin won’t go back either. so, there’s that.

  • Briiick

JC will be benched or traded when Kobe returns.

  • HeroBallJLIN

JC is def not as good of PG as Lin. However JC did get 10 assists tonight. Again not as good of a facilitator as Lin. JC is making progress as he gets more play time.

  • tin3ytina

love it~ he has better analysis than his coach.

  • CJSHYY

That’s what I thought before but if Lin really stays then Kobe will try any excuse to make Lin be a bench again just like this season. smh!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Always enjoy listening to JLin’s interviews. He really provides good info/thoughts. His sense of humor is coming out more and more this year. He is getting more comfy with media/fans attention.

  • ra

    when is the draft?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

My comment with the word dumb has to be examined and waiting to be approved by JLinPortal.

  • blubell
  • joyce ward

Kobe is not having Clarkson handle th eball next season. Kobe is still holding out that they will get Rondo. I think scott/kobe will play nice with lin these last games because kobe wants to keep his fans in China. Lin might be allowed to play his game because he is not coming back next year and lin is no threat to him as being the fan favorite.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He doesn’t seem to have any thought before saying anything.

  • CJSHYY

Really? But not sure Nuggets really wants to hire MDA now?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL You are insulting JLin to compare him with BS. With 0-100 as 0 the worse. BS is 0 and JLin is 100:-)

  • tin3ytina

lol… oops, am i not supposed to say that? well, i said byron is dumb, so that should be acceptable since it’s the truth

  • Brent Yen

    June

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I love Jeremy. I’ll confirm it so that those trolls will implode.

  • Briiick

Either BS or KB has to leave to stop tanking.

  • CJSHYY

What do you think why today ask Lin to play SG?!

  • Thanks! I recognize many of you from the other website. Feels more like a reunion here 🙂

  • tin3ytina

i’m sorry… i totally didn’t mean it that way! ahaha but, just saying, as a “coach,” people expect what jlin is providing during his interviews. instead, we get byron’s analysis of, “players were too soft, made boneheaded plays, etc.” not much thinking there.

  • blubell

Hmmm… I don’t see any of your posts waiting to be approved.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Reporting of libels is what decent citizens should do!

  • joyce ward

That was Scott’s usual move. We will see what happens in the next games to follow.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOL No worries. Just want to tease you. No harm done! I know. Have no desire to listen nor see him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    They are crazy not to.
MDA is the innovator in the game of basketball.
His game is exciting to watch.

  • ra

    why not

  • joyce ward

Block him He is fronting why do you spin time on these trolls coming to this site to post.smh

    http://www.poundingtherock.com/2015/3/16/8202225/tim-duncan-bill-russell-winning-ultimate-statistic

For a long time now, I’ve felt that Tim Duncan is more akin to the great Bill Russell. I think said as much on a comment a while ago. This recent article is kind of timely for Lin fans to learn to appreciate what winning bball is all about.

Lin will always have critics no matter what great feats or stats he achieves. Look, Lin had broken records during Linsanity but people always points to fact it was only for a couple of weeks. The truths is, had Melo been out for longer, Linsanity would have lasted much longer as well. Lin’s role changed and his stats were down to 15/7 becasue he had to help Melo score. The point is, the media and critics will ALWAYS find something negative to say about Lin.

Scoring points is a big lie. Trading points like the Lakers do is just not about winning, it’s about stat padding, for both teams. Winning BBall is about the flow of play from defence to offence. The team that gets the flow to go their way to gain the edge of making the extra stops will win the game.

  • CJSHYY

Bc their AS coach is doing well & cheap so I read somewhere said so far no plan to change his status

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes. JLin did say he wasn’t 100%.

oh no… hope dantoni lands a position soon! he’s a good coach. just needs a defensive minded assistant to balance things out..

us there any other team besides that might change their coach orlando, philly…any others?

  • tin3ytina

maybe cleveland! since lebron is basically their coach right now

  • welcome 🙂

  • CJSHYY

I think it’s Kobe’s idea to tell Lin that if you stays w Lakers then that’s the game you will play w me.

After Linsanity DVD, Kobe said he will not back to home game until the last 2 games … but he show up today?

Too bad Brown didn’t pass to Jeremy during the game.

Kobe, you are either Championship or just waste of time type of player. Now you cared about a rookies triple double in a losing game?

Kobe is playing games with Clarkson just as he always doed. Kobe though that lin was a pushover and rollover and play his game, but when he found out lin wasn’t, it threw him for a lopp. Kobe did his usual thing cussing out players and not expecting any backlash, but it backfired on him when that video went viral. Kobe tried to backtrack, but too late, eveything that was written in that negative article about kobe turned out to be true.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I wander how the Lakers will fare when the ticket holders(most of them Asian American) when lin does not return to the lakers. What would be even better if the Clippers signed lin. They would have a lot of fans flock over to see the Clippers because most diehard laker fans refuse to take another season of tanking because of Kobe.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

because there is more truth to it.

  • CJSHYY

He just replied my question—no there was a bottom row, more lin there and on SwaggyP

  • sport

So true, that’s why Linsanity was so entertaining as well! It’s dreadful how Lin had to play for horrible teams these past 3 seasons. I seriously hope he’s teaming up with Mike D’antoni again! So tired of these dumb coaches and there ‘share ball handling duties” to at expense of Lin to hype another player!

  • leeda harun

well I hope not to the clippers..
lin will not get playing time

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I can’t agree more but I put the word before iidiot. LOL

  • CJSHYY

Bc right now Kobe needs enemy #2(JC for now or anyone do well in this team) to beat enemy #1 (Lin) that’s why…. Really like communist. LOL!

  • sport

Clippers is Chris Paul’s team, no way is Lin going there. I do envy the fact that CP3 gets to play with such an amazing PF like Blake Griffin. If only Lin could play with a star PF that compliments the position of PG the best!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s still not the end of the season yet. There are quite a few of games left; many are double headers.
Plus, Lin does feel for teammates like Jabrai Brown who has just pulled up from the D-league.

  • yes, it’s very admirable that Lin wants to reach out and make an impact in the lives of his teammates/others with kindness.
That’s why more and more people admire his selfless acts 🙂

  • sport

Oh please, any teammate that does well is Kobe’s enemy right now! Dude can’t accept his basketball days are over.

  • CJSHYY

Don’t think they will get Lin bc they are not only have CP3 but also River. No room for Lin.

  • tin3ytina

    agreed.

  • sport

What Ellington got injured? Didn’t eve notice, that he was just subbed out.

  • sport

Same reason why most of us switched over here. There are alot more Mods over here. Don’t need to waste time on all the negative haters and just focus on Lin.

  • Linja

Translation : They are equally bad. “We need good ones.”

  • CJSHYY

Really? Then he passed to who? Ellington or JC?

  • sport

SwaggyP’s benching is so he can’t outshine Kobe because at this point, Swaggy’s a better player than Kobe who only knows how to chuck up all the shots from his teammates.

  • tin3ytina

    but was it intentional?

  • sport

At the beginning Ellington was ok, now I can’t stand it every time he dribbles in place with no where to go, he’s another selfish player who thinks he can handle the ball and create shots for himself when he can’t. He also doesn’t pass to Lin.

  • joyce ward

The NBAis just like a Hollyood drama. They promote who they want to promote. They y smell your fear and hunger and they capitalize on it. This is such a terrible thing thing because it lures most NBA players into a false provado. The only players I hear in the nBA doing big things off the court are LBJ and Jeremy LIn.

  • stam

I thought it was great that Lin complimented the opposing coach. You know he’s thinking, our coach didn’t really do anything except cross his arms.

  • JoeTeam

you do have a point, Kobe was mostly talk and emotion this year. I bet a lot of college players could outplay him for real. As Brent said, all those shots missed might as well be turnovers.

  • JoeTeam

heh heh soccer with 2-1 scores … you only get one life too. 1-0 as long as we can last.

  • Keith

Lin mentors Clarkson and bunch of others, but in the end they got all credits when they play well.

  • Acbc

What really annoys me is that fans want lin to play the same stupid game of “me, me me”. Like I said, no matter how many points lin scores, they’ll say something derogatory.

What I like is that the writer talks about how Bill Russell says that one of his finest games he played was one he went 0/8, NO SCORES, NO BASKETS. If you are a real star, you can be the focal point to take the defence away from your teammates and if you are a great passer like Duncan, you can be a great help to make your teammates score. Sometimes winning means not scoring! KOBE on the other hand will take the shot with 3 people on him.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

  • thanks. Added to Video Gallery on Homepage

  • JLin: “After some time off, I tried to give my body right and tonight I didn’t get much explosiveness. And (wind?) I’m still fighting, still lingering, (still going)”

Jeremy confirmed he needed to get his body right and possibly still fought the URI lingering impact. I’m hopeful with more practice he’ll be closer to tip-top shape vs POR in 2 days.

  • JoeTeam

you make a great point earlier, about the big 120 pt games when teams just trade scores and it pumps up everyone’s fantasy scores. Very weird, how NBA is evolving. The money comes from what we focus on, I guess. The invisible hand doesn’t always work.

  • JoeTeam

maybe another few days. Just finish out with 3 great great games is all I need.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

My pleasure! Just found it right before cooking dinner. So, listening to this while cooking:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL JLin was referring to coming Portland game as they lost their homecourt game. So, they are mad.

  • KL

I have some perspective on Lin’s treatment these past few difficult years.

McHale wanted to win but his disdain for Jeremy was very clear. So if Jeremy missed 2 shots in a row, he could be yanked. Very tough to play with confidence and get into rhythm like that. Still Jeremy had some great games in Houston when he was playing well (and the other “more important” players were not playing well).

Scott does not hate Jeremy the same way, but his “love” for Kobe is borderline freakish. He let Jeremy play but always set up Kobe to be the hero. We all know how that turned out. Then the tanking really started and Jeremy was a threat to the tank. So if Jeremy made 2 shots in a row, he could be yanked!

Bizarre but all this nonsense will probably make Jeremy bullet proof. There isn’t anything he hasn’t seen in the NBA.

  • K. P. Chan

Well put, Acbc! Great players are concerned about making their teammates better first, themselves second. They play in a way that maximizes their teams’ chances to win, even though it may mean they don’t score themselves.

Often, less sophisticated fans only look at how many points a player has scored in a game. They don’t pay attention (or don’t understand) other aspects of the play, such as how a player is in the rhythm and the flow of the game, orchestrating the offense, moving teammates into positions, and making defense stops.

Most of these contributions will not even show up in the stats. Breaking up an opposing team’s offensive play does not show up like a steal or a block. Neither does a hockey assist.

And unfortunately that’s the main reason for Lin’s game not being appreciated by everyone.

  • K. P. Chan

Does anyone have a theory on why Ed Davis has been DNP-CD of late? It seems unfair to him. Thoughts? I’ve read that Scott openly admitted there was no thought process behind playiing the front court.

  • Yascar

I think they’re probably keeping him under the radar to sign him cheap. It also weakens Jeremy’s game a bit since they play together so well. Don’t really know. BS is just so tanktastic it’s imposssible to really know what’s going on.

  • KL

I called out BS for his tanking long ago. Many people were not convinced and believed that he was just inept.

But the fact is that you can be stupid and excel in tanking at the same time. Anybody can simply fail and lose. BS just had to constantly shuffle the lineup. Bench Jeremy and Ed Davis. And play players out of position… It is winning consistently that requires talent.

  • K. P. Chan

Thanks, Yascar. The thought of the Lakers keeping Davis under the radar also did cross my mind. Tanking is another.

Anyway, when Scott said “there was no thought process in playing the front court”, I almost had to believe him because he deemed to do everything at random without much logic. Lol!

  • Filler-up

Chinese people should exercise their power by letting their wallets do the talking. Put that highest earning power per capita to good use and force the establishment to change.

  • Filler-up

    That’s notyour wife!

  • Filler-up

One can look at it this way – all the Lin shirts have been sold out. Kobe’s jerseys still on the rack.

  • K. P. Chan

So you reaffirm my belief that Scott is an inept coach but is adept in tanking. Is that right? I am inclined to agree with you.

The Laker situation is almost comical now, not just because of the tank, but because Scott is in the mix adding to the chaos and confusion. Sometimes you just don’t know if the tanking strategy is carried out to perfection, or the pathetic results were due to Scott’s incompetence.

    Probably both.

  • KL

Exactly. That is what I believe. Scott is both inept and deliberately tanking!

  • 311

    Highlights!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

His tanking is not very successful with his last 2 wins against 76ers, and the win against Minnesota. Two of these wins were won by 2 points only.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He is a coach of contradictions. He has been contradicting himself so bad that I think he’s insane.

  • KL

I suppose tanking is hard when you are facing another tanking team.

  • CJSHYY

I think they want to sign him cheap that’s for sure but maybe bc he wants to option out and test the market so no more promotion for him like before… DNP for now. smh!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This would be a masterpiece to turn Laker City into Clipper City. If Jeremy Lin is given the minutes, he will shine in whatever team he plays. The Clipper is just a player away from being the champion; it’s really close.

  • CJSHYY

I think he failed that two dumb won bc JC was selfish and coach didn’t act quick to stop him. They got what they asked for it. LOL!

BOTH Toney Douglus and Omar Asik knew Jeremy too well to let him break loose.

  • CJSHYY

  • JJ Hui

KB’s character is so gross and ugly that i don’t even want to hear about him anymore! No kidding!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    He did at least once.

  • JJ Hui

He is a different kind of human species that belong to way before the Roman empire! LOL!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There is a doubleheader against the Clippers that the Lakers has to play at the best of their potential. They can’t afford to get wiped out. Ed Davis, Boozer and Jeremy have to play lots of minutes to help Lakers stay in the game but Coach Scott might be insane enough to carry on the tanking. You can’t predict what Scott has in his mind of Charmin.

  • Brewkowski

    Eww, HR.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron would have to beg Ed Davis playing at his best against the Clippers and the Kings to keep his job. These two teams are hungry for success. These two teams would be merciless and they aren’t going to hold anything back against the Lakers.

Lin wasn’t 100% last night as he was breathing through his mouth a lot. His breathing seemed like he’s playing 40 min plus not 20. Hope he gets better by the day.

The Pelicans did what they had to do to slow Lin down and they succeed doing it and of course without Lin the Lakers falling apart.

  • webattorney

They need to put up some numbers to get another contract.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Hill and Boozer were so bad in the paint defense. Neither helped to screen Lin like Davis, even worse they clogged the lane to demand the ball which also killed ball movement. This is pathetic BS.

  • PPP

On one hand, im glad its only 8 games to go to free lin. On the other hand, im worried how im going to survive for the coming 6 months without lin.

Its really tough to be a lin fan. Damnn.

  • The toughest part will be not watching NBA games but there will be more exciting off-season FA activities to follow since Lin will visit many teams and we’d have to guess who will emerge as the strongest contender to acquire Lin’s services in the next 2-3 years.

    Lin FA Questions
1 How many teams (Spurs, Kings, Rockets, Knicks, Lakers, etc.) will be interested in Lin?
2 How many teams will Lin be comfortable to play with?
3 How many teams see Lin as a starting PG, not just backup PG?
4 Which coach will Lin share mutual trust?
5 Will teams pursue Dragic and Rondo first before making decisions on Lin?
    6 …

So many intriguing questions to determine Lin’s future in just 3 months (May-July 2015)
Will it be JLinPrime Era (Linsanity Part 2) or will it be a key piece of championship team?

  • if we subscribe to Byron’s train of thought, they wanted to use the last 10-15 games to evaluate players for next season.

So that means they think Ed Davis is a known commodity which they probably want to retain.
And someone mentioned by not playing him as much, his price wouldn’t increase as much.

Lakers are two losses from the most in franchise history. Byron Scott isn’t sweating it. “It just gives me more incentive for next year.”

  • CJSHYY

Lakers is bad…. smh! Only 8 games.

  • Chipdip

He knows he is doing the “right” thing (tanking) as directed from the FO. All NBA’s fault to allow teams to tank.

  • Brent Yen

    (wink)

  • 1mtoldman

all of the above work together. a. they know what they got in davis
    b. they want to keep him underwraps to low ball him for next season c. they do want to see players they are undecided about yet (like kelly who they have to pay and brown and black who they haven’t seen much of) d. they want to lose.

no reason for any conflict in any of these.

  • JW

He got a free year to lose as many as he can without any repercussions from FO. If he ends with 20 wins, next year if he’s able to get 40, then he would’ve turned the LAL around by double their wins. That coach of the year is practically his if he gets that. Why would he even try to win anything. It would just hurt him.

  • 1mtoldman

kobe needs someone who doesn’t shoot; rondo doesn’t shoot. only rondo, rubio and p.bev among current reg. season majority season point guards dont shoot. so rondo is the choice. it isn’t that he doesn’t want someone who shoots well; its that he wants someone who doesn’t shoot at all.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t really think this article is true from FO’s idea… bc it’s only base on Kobe likes Rondo & that’s sort of old news… even Mitch didn’t say the name Rondo but he already said Lakers didn’t want to pay big money for FA just for Kobe’s…. But maybe there is a chance if Lin really not stays then Lakers will go after Rondo

  • CJSHYY

Weird? After or before ASG, news from Asia reporter said they can hardly find any Lin’s item from Staples Center?! Why now needs to have new items by the end of the season? Close contract sale?

  • BobbyH

    Inventory clearing.

  • bolero

  • CJSHYY

That’s first thing in my mind. Plus Lakers store tweet…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

IMO, Lin got back to the starting lineup and played more min because the FO hasn’t given up on him yet. They want to see how he and Clarkson sharing the back court together for the last time then evaluate from there. Regarding to Kobe, he can deny all he wants, they sure know he won’t last half of the season 15-16. Lin will come off the bench again as the season starts but that won’t be long. Again just MO.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Not really, the price doesn’t go down.

  • CJSHYY

    Then what do you think?

  • Grace Nsns

    Lakers Store@LakersStore
It’s no joke! We just added @JLin7 @Lakers Home Swingman Jerseys! Get the look: http://bit.ly/1CQS2h5

  • Grace Nsns

Right. Earlier the store only carried LIn replica jersey, now they added swingman jerseys.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

God Knows. At this time last season, we all speculated where Lin would be traded to but NO ONE thought of the Lakers. So anybody guesses now.

  • Grace Nsns

    to back up Clarkson? 🙁

  • CJSHYY

Ya! I think FO of course wants to keep Lin that’s why he can back to starting lineup. But Kobe & BS just like Morey & Mc never give up the idea to push Lin out of Lakers if they see any chance they can get… I agree even in the beginning of season Lin maybe will start but sooner or later, he will move to be a bench bc Kobe will not allow him to shine in Lakers. Right now they have good excuse JC.. they tried hard to package him to be in good record for best rookie this year… w that Lin can be replaced by him anytime…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He’s done it. However he won’t be paired with Kobe.

  • CJSHYY

I think so if Lin really stays… right now they let JC gets his playing time to have good stats… So Kobe will say I like JC next to me not Lin….

  • CJSHYY

Why? Lakers FO so sure Lin will stay?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

As Mitch has said, he won’t pay high price for another vet star to play with final season Kobe. He wants to collect a group of talent young and rebuild from there but the process won’t start until Kobe follows Nash.

Lakers’ Ed Davis says it’s “difficult” to sit even if he understands reasoning

Posted on April 2, 2015 by Mark Medina

“If we were fighting for a playoff spot, it would be totally different,” said Davis…..
Yet, Davis is still playing for something. Considering he will opt out of his player option, doesn’t he want to play as many games as possible to maximize his market value? Well, yes. But Davis believes that already has happened.

“I don’t think these last eight games will change anything on how I’m viewed around the league or viewed with this team,” Davis said. “I’m just going to try to finish out the year strong. But I don’t think it’s going to make a difference whether I play or not the rest of these eight games. I’ve played in enough games and been effective enough to show teams that I can stay in this league and belong in this league.”

  • CJSHYY

Good point. Lakers is bad… smh!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Is it “celebrity 名人 in Putonghua/Mandarin”?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin is promising for many years at the age of 26 but Kobe is at the dusk of his career and most likely for his last season in NBA. No NBA team is interested to give him anymore chance on their roster unless he is willing to play at veteran minimum which I think the conceited Kobe would prefer to hang up his shoes instead of being trashed.

Perhaps Kobe could volunteer himself to the Cavaliers for his 6th ring and join the crowd of Mike Miller, Shawn Marion etc. He won’t be given many minutes though.

  • Samuel

Rondo, Kobe, Clarkson, Brown, Young, and Ellington, those players have one thing in common, NBA might think about let Lakers to play with 2 balls at once next year?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Not a chance. Davis is currently have a PER > 20 and that won’t go unnoticed.
Davis needs no more proof that he’s a legit NBA player.

  • Samuel

never heard of that, I thought Kelly is Lin’s best friend on the team..

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That is translated to Byron could not whatever he wants in the last eight games.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The sponsors of Jeremy is having high hope of Linsanity Prime for tomorrow.

  • Samuel

yes, also the home court of LA D-Fenders

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It shows us that Byron is determined to break the record of losses in franchise history.

  • Dan Cohen

no team has won championships with the PO.

But like Brent said, depends on who runs it.. but still it’s A BIT predictable with it’s entry pass. Also ALL 5 players HAVE to understand AND read the defense a bit to do it (as in when to back door cut). It’s hard because ALL 5 players have to understand and if 1 falls asleep.. and you’re suppose to do a backdoor cut.. oh well.. or you have someone remind you..like how lin remind jabari to go back after lin did a cut to a corner which can slow it down a bit.

With PNR, the predictability is the start where the guy sets the screen. You don’t know if the ball handler will pass after that or drive in… basically it can require just 2 people.. where one knows how to pick and roll and the ball handler reading the defense. 2 people is better than 5 people.. and reading defenses can counter any predictability …the others are usually post up players on the arc or something.

Obviously I left out details and also I can be bias toward pnr.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Minion means cute in French. Chinoise is not the same as French but perhaps she is being cute herself.

  • Dan Cohen

dragic will fail if kobe is there.. dragic got his stats due to modern day bball of pnr and spacing.. kobe is still old schoolish. without spacing and pnr and ball in his hands.. dragic can’t do cr-p. kobe will just start shooting away then.

rondo is same old thinking as kobe.. so age discrimination there! lol

  • Rookie75094

Lol…rondo sucking the mavs lead down to 1…Carlisle call time out…put in Harris. ..boom lead back to 9

  • CJSHYY

Not surprised. Hill has been very good w what coach wanted from him. No matter it’s DNP or tank.. he will do it. Young is another story. Probably will out of Lakers soon.

  • Samuel

Lin said Kelly is his new best buddy on the team now on his facebook page, when a fan asked back in January..

  • Samuel

Front court players always got paid more than back court players, for $9M, you get an average PF/C, but you can get a good SG/PG for that price.

  • sport

Young’s not happy with this team, with BS as coach I doubt he’d want to stay when his contract’s up.

  • sport

I agree Lin is best friends with Boozer and Kelly.

  • sport

Don’t like Ellington anymore, after watching him for a season he’s really not that great of player, dribbles in place alot without doing anything. Well there goes the last player BS can use to keep Lin from being PG unless BS plays Clarkson and Lin together for the entire game which I doubt.

  • Rookie75094

Rondo benched end of game…..come on mavs!!!!

  • CJSHYY

  • 1mtoldman

the point is his contracts not up; he’s one of few players lakers have to pay next year.

  • Samuel

only Clarkson, Kobe, and Price would “happy” with the team now I would say..

  • 1mtoldman

    they dont root for the rockets they root against rondo;

  • CJSHYY

    Exactly. LOL!

  • Samuel

you should save it for the Lakers next year, lol

  • CJSHYY

Rondo have to out of Mav first so Lakers can get him.LOL! Mav really loss now!!!

  • Samuel

I don’t understand, Rondo has done nothing to Lin unlike Morey and McHale..

  • CJSHYY

    Why no CP?

  • Samuel

Lin to save them next year?

  • 1mtoldman

they just dont like rondo. rook is roh

  • CJSHYY

Mav lose. W Rondo they’re really not playing well. LOL!

  • Rookie75094

Oh well…rondo lost the game for the mavs again

  • Samuel

I just checked the stat and found out that Rondo takes one more shot per game than Lin this year, yet he scored about 2.5 less pts than Lin, that’s very bad..

  • 1mtoldman

even when dallas was ahead in the 3rd it appeared houston would eventually win based on the significant variable of harden being on pace for double digit free throws. even tho he only had 14 points i think at the time and was shooting poorly from the field, he was still on pace for double digit free throws for the game.

anytime harden gets double digit free throws (and he usually does) he scores big and rockets win.

the few games when harden doesn’t get the double digit free throws the rockets tend to lose and harden scored under 20.

  • 1mtoldman

rondo/rubio dont shoot, cant shoot. thats why rondo is perfect for kobe.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! I am glad to know this. Rox got so lucky not get Rondo but have Brewer & J Smith. They are sure 100% better than Rondo.

  • Rookie75094

And in the playoff…the refs tend to swallow the whistle. … I can see another first round exit for the rockettes

  • Rookie75094

    Hurt his knee

  • Rookie75094

He took Jlin spot with the mavs this year..hehe

  • CJSHYY

I don’t hate Rondo just want him out of Mav to make room for Lin. LOL!

  • orLinaryjoe

Hmmm, rockets or rondo. The greater of two evils for me would be rockets. They can choke on it.

  • Rookie75094

    Parson hurt his knee

  • orLinaryjoe

Lakers can have him. Problem solved.

  • CJSHYY

But if w him Mav is doing well then no chance for Lin so it’s better for Mav to loss w Rondo on.

  • CJSHYY

    Hope so.

  • Samuel

don’t worry, Rondo will be a Lakers next year, 4 years / $80M sounds about right..

  • Rookie75094

Wait till the playoffs. ..smith and brewer may be worse than rondo when the pressure is on

  • Samuel

but I don’t want to see Lin to play with another ballhugger though..

  • Samuel

need add Lakers to the list next year.

  • Rookie75094

That’s why I want the rockettes lose by 50 pts while rondo go 0for25 and 20 turn overs….that would be perfect.

  • CJSHYY

Maybe but not w that price tag. Lakers FO is cheap now. This Lakers isn’t the same like good old time anymore. LOL!

  • CJSHYY

I know but Ellis wants to option out so he maybe will not be back?

  • orLinaryjoe

    That would be perfect.

  • orLinaryjoe

Kobe occupies too much cap space

  • orLinaryjoe

No worries, Mavs can’t go too far. Just want Rockets to exit first.

    http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/237276/Lakers-Signing-Dwight-Buycks-To-10-Day-Contract

Why do so many fans hope Lin wind up in Dallas? Mark Cuban is fools gold. He pretends to be let others run the club, but in the end he’s the one making the changes with his own money to make himself look good. Cuban does things according to his own whims.

I keep reminding people that it was all Cuban that decided to get rid of Steve Nash after he had endure 2 years of booing from Dallas fans to win them over. NASH turned the franchise around by taking them deep into playoff and 2 straight years of all star appearances and numbers. IT WAS CUBAN WHO DECIDED THAT NASH WAS TOO FRAGILE AND WAS ON THE DECLINE. he makes it sound like NASH didn’t play like an all star for the Mavs but that’s Cuban rewriting history. The truth is he gave away a fully developed Steve Nash on the verge of becoming a superstar. Had Cuban not interfered with the natural development of that power house team. Thye could have won more than a few championships.

Cuban runs the team like an extension of his ego. Lin will overshadow his ego and Cuban will not allow it. I don’t believe Cuban will ever allow Linsanity to ever happen in Dallas because HE DIDNT MAKE IT HAPPEN.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

  • Briiick

You’ve got a point. Cuban also broke up his championship team. He got Rondo (to replace Ellis in his mind ?) which looks like a failure now. He likes to predict things and acts accordingly as an investor should, but has also made numerous mistakes.

  • I think most Lin fans hope Rick Carlisle’s positive comments on Lin will mean he recognizes Lin’s strength and knows how to use it.

As for Cuban, it will be a question mark especially after his gamble on Rondo lost big time.
The only way Cuban can claim credit on Lin was the fact that the Mavs signed him first in the Summery League to get him drafted. I remember he already claimed the credit in one interview in 2012-13 LOL

  • man, that would be soo.. wrong at so many levels if it’s true :[

    Like this guy?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Super FAs would not want to play for the Lakers; their glorious history is not helping their present.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Because Jeremy is about to turn the corner in being a true PG. It takes time for a PG to mature. Play time is important and D-league’s experience wouldn’t help because players there just try to get stats of their own instead of running offense and defenses. College might be a good training ground for the players. Good players normally comes out from famous colleges running good offense and defense of their own.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There must be negotiation and compromises or else Byron would just bury any player he likes. I’m sure JLin has much commercial value to be dumped. Loss of Jeremy is also a loss for NBA.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Investing on a 29 years old veterans, Rondo, with a history of not being successful in young teams will drag the whole organization to the cellar of the league. Celtics won’t be giving up on him without a reason. He’s overpaid. Lakers can only get his service by overpaying him more.

There is going to be a dark age for Lakers at the dusk of Kobe’s career. Kobe Bryant is not going to anywhere with his old worn out body. Kobe just couldn’t last for the regular season; not even half of it. Investing on Kobe now is just like throwing money out of the window.

Giving out a multi-years max contract just for 1 year of Kobe’s season is sure a raw deal. Kobe is just trying to extend his career by dragging Lakers to a black hole. If Kobe didn’t retire, the Laker has no future.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Minions? Serving an evil master?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Harden could be overcome. You need to direct your offense to him and score on him like crazy. That will put him on defense. DeMar DeRozan of the Raptors scored 42 points against James Harden’s 31 points and subdued the Rockets.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Rondo is a misfit. Mavericks is still a lot better without him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jeremy has proved to be more athletic and durable.
    That’s toughness.
I called Kobe, the soft Kobe who just broke down in the middle of a season.
Kobe Bryant played only 35 games this season. Jeremy played in 71 games twice as many as Kobe.
    Lin is tougher than Kobe.
Kobe is Charmin and pretty soft.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jeremy is the most underrated PG in the league in 2015. The media is hating on Lin for his popularity. They omit Lin’s performance after ASG where Lin has made a turn in discovering his game. The following article represents the current opinion on Jeremy which is outdated.
    http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2015/3/28/8306263/2015-free-agency-primer-looking-at-the-available-point-guards
I bet the Rockets is missing out on Jeremy. Beverley hasn’t been an adequate replacement for Jeremy with a PER of 11.38 with 30.8 minutes per game on the average.

  • joyce ward

We already know they view Lin, why bring that negative drama here? Lin is not worried about his FA, and he already knows the narrative on himself. I will follow lin’s lead and drown out all of the negative stereotyping that goes with that drama

I copied this picture from a person i am following! This is BS coach portrait! LOL!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

We don’t know enough how Lin is misunderstood by so many. Seeing the comments from the fans there, I begin to see more about how Lin is misinterpreted which is against the fact and grossly outdated. These have to be changed.
Just like Lin has told the reporters about what could be improved: Communication, Trust and Effort.
Communication, Trust and Effort are essential for Lin’s success as an NBA player.
As a Lin fan, I want Lin to be trusted and what about Lin must be communicated for his future. Lin of course has made enough effort to improve his game.
Arguing with Lin haters are unnecessary but understanding of them and how much they said was against the fact are necessary. Posting of facts and figures are better than arguing. Ball don’t lie.
I should be glad to be informed that Lin has actually improved as a player. That’s why PFV’s video is so appealing to me and many Lin fans.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Four more years of dark age for Laker fans.

  • JJ Hui

A well kept green pasture with a stable of thorobreds that can win the Kentucky derby doesn’t mean it will welcome an undersized winner like “Seabiscuit”.

Carlisle may want Lin for the win but so did Don Nelson who loved NASH and patiently groomed him to become a superstar. Cuban let NASH walk without getting anything back like Dolan. He overpaid for a prospect HE FELT WAS BETTER and NASH became a MVP for The Suns while that prospect became a career second stringer.

This Rondo experiment is putting Carlisle’s own job at risk and its Cuban who has done it. Rondo is Cuban’s boy right now and he has forced Carlisle to make adjustments to make Cuban look like a genius. Cuban is like a Steinbrenner who loves to meddle and remind people that it’s his money and his team.

I get what you are trying to do, but I don’t want to come to this site and get depressed on the negative press about him being posted on here. This site is suppose to be a positive and edifying site about all things lin. Posting the negative narrative about lin here serves no purpose. I can get negative narrative from twitter. Also, we know the person didn’t do any homework because of the wrong stats. Point I am trying top make is that post a comment to that site about lin’s stats instead of bringing it on here for clicks..smh

  • Acbc

Brent is actually the number one reason I dontt want Lin to go to Dallas. Brent will be insufferable if he keeps rubbing our face in it. Lol

  • BobbyH

I don’t agree. The poster already warned that the article has negative view about Lin. It is the viewer’s choice to go there or not. And he got a point that to debuff those haters/doubters, one needs to understand what’s their views and grounds.

  • CJSHYY

Anyone read news about Scott said starting Lineup is going to change again?!

Last sentence makes no sense. Lin is not leaving NBA.

  • kittyhead

I have been in the against-Mav camp and dont understand why people want Lin to play next to Ellis and Parsons. Cuban and RC did say something good about Lin but that didnt mean they really view Lin as their future starting point guard. Actually I think Cuban is also like Alexander, who only wants to attract Asian fans and make money. And that’s why he signed Yi, Lin and a Japanese player.

  • Brent Yen

    He is soft..

  • CJSHYY

He showed up always had his purpose… nothing good for Lin. smh1

  • BobbyH

It is more like a political handshake. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • As a fan, it sometimes provides some relief in knowing that there are other fans who also experience the same level of frustration with the way that Lin is consistently being mistreated and portrayed in the media despite the improvements he has made. We seem to find a much needed sense of camaraderie here. I kind of feel like we are in the trenches together, so to speak. This forum appeals to me because it provides a positive/encouraging perspective on Lin’s progress and contributions which transcend the realm of basketball. It also feels like a place where we can gain some semblance of sympathy when we feel angry/discouraged by the overwhelming negativity that surrounds Lin/ all of us.

I appreciate the dedication and the valuable insights you both provide. I also feel encouraged by fact you both are so fiercely loyal and protective.

  • CJSHYY

I think Boozer probably talked w Lin when Kobe came in… since Boozer talked to Kobe so Lin had to… Ya! It’s PR style Hello.

  • Rick Johnson

Yes, doesn’t look him in the face, glances to the right past him then to the left.

  • CJSHYY

That pretty much tell it all… It’s OK. Only 8 games to go.

  • no need :] Most Lakers media already described him as the Tank Commander so it fits his job description lol

  • OTOH we can see Brent yelling at Cuban on ESPN, “You see Mark? Lin’s much better than Rondo!” LOL

  • let’s hope Lin won’t suffer the fate of some minions .. I remember one who floated away to the sky, I always wonder what happened to that one :]

  • it’s hard to look someone in the eye after you stab them in the back repeatedly.
It could be the guilt haunting him in his sleep

  • Grantland does a long feature on Jeanie Buss

    https://twitter.com/BaxterHolmes/status/584017742648356866

  • Brent Yen

    I hit ctrl + F ….nothing happens…so I skipped it…lol

  • CJSHYY

Somehow I feel Jeanie Buss is not really a fan of Lin … She only talked about Kobe… I don’t send the tweet to her anymore.

  • Brent Yen

    Again…who cares…LOL Not Lin’s problem…

  • CJSHYY

I know that’s why I gave her up long long time ago. smh! I don’t think no matter it’s her brother or herself are smart in business. They just can’t live w/o Kobe… so let them have him forever. LOL!

  • Brent Yen

I am already living in the 2015-16 season. It just somehow my TV is not good and I can not tell what the jersey Lin is in…yet XD

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Right now even 8 games it’s too long.. LOL!

  • Brent Yen

  • Samuel

Shouldn’t Lin get a block on Asik’s missed shot?
Lin played great D on Cole, yet he still had one of his best game of the year, as NO’s announcer said: “Cole had a field day on Clarkson tonight, the rookie just doen’t play defense”

  • Rick Johnson

Hope JLin drops 38 (or more) on him again next year when he’s on another team.

  • golfhacker

She knows Lin won’t be back next year, so why would she bother talking about him.

  • joyce ward

Why waste time posting. We have people on here that sometimes wil jump on that negative bandwagon beacuse some ar kust that, bandwagon follwers. To me that is like putting a drink in front of an alcholic.

  • yeah, I don’t blame you :]

She just strikes me as someone whose goal is to preserve her dad’s legacy that includes Kobe and keeping her brother as VP of Operations although they’re not good for the franchise.

And that’s possibly the reason why she will miss the chance to create the new future of JLinPrime in LA.
It’s astounding to see how she witnessed the excitement Lin/Davis brings to the Staples Center but will still miss the chance to bring profit to her Lakers. I guess people have blind spots

It’s just interesting to understand the human side of how people miss opportunities due to a misplaced priority.

  • golfhacker

I’m no fan of Kobe, but I think you’re looking way too much in this screenshot.

  • Rick Johnson

Look at the YouTube video in the link.

  • Brewkowski

Kobe didn’t really want to do it but cameras are around, the lack of sincerity is plainly obvious.

  • The article is actually very complementary of Lin’s skills and even questioned BScott’s decision to start Price over Lin but interestingly the writer is wary of LOFs calling for Hornacek to bench Bledsoe for Lin

“Despite being on a struggling Lakers team, Jeremy Lin has only 26 games as a starter this year. But that may not be his fault, as head coach Byron Scott has puzzled Lakers fans by often choosing to start Ronnie Price and Jordan Clarkson ahead of Lin.
Lin is an intriguing player with undeniable skills, but he may not be what Phoenix is looking for.”

It’s pleasantly surprising to know that NBA writers acknowledged the strength of Lin’s fanbase, almost like Tim Tebow’s fanbase. I used this article as a feedback of how Lin’s fans are being perceived in the NBA. We can’t control what people do but I would try to bring positive image of Lin fans when I interact with writers/reporters, etc. After all, that’s a big part of our vision to bring positivity to Lin fans so it might help Lin’s career.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He was warm to Boozer but not Lin… this was not the first time Kobe did it sure will not be the last.

  • golfhacker

    I stand corrected!

  • joyce ward

We can agree to disagree. I think the writer is complimentary to some degree, but he is always poised to throw in a zinger and the vague wording of intriguing player with undeniable skills. What does that mean? This is just my opinion. The good about this site that we all get chance to voice our opinion in a fair manner:)

  • joyce ward

I am beginning to think that Carlisle is not really feeling Rondo. I think Carlisle wants a PG that can shoot also, and Rondo is not that guy.

  • very well said 🙂
in a way we positively show how we can disagree respectfully and listen as friends

  • MoominFloren

It’s available in Taiwan now :))

  • webattorney

I read the article, a very good article. We can’t expect everyone else to see the same things many posters see here. After all, she has to look at things broadly. All I know is unless the same owner is in charge of all divisions, BB Operation and Business Operation, things are going to stay disjointed with Lakers.

  • Dan Cohen

    say what

  • webattorney

Saw highlights. Curry dancing on the sideline was funny and showed he’s enjoying winning and playing. Why not? GSW the most exciting team in NBA.

  • Brent Yen

If you can not shoot, you are not gonna win big.

  • webattorney

    Agreed.

  • Brent Yen

    (rubbing……)

  • Samuel

You are too slow, they already exchanged F-Words during a game last month, lol..

  • BobbyH

Again, that’s their choices. They come and go. We stay. Wasting time or not, it is up to personal judgement that we can’t take that away.

This is a Lin fans forum for positivity. It is also a place we all share views from different angles, from different backgrounds, and most importantly a place where we respect opinions and posts, whether we agree or not.

  • joyce ward

I agree to a certain extent. I think that this organization even more so should be on the same sheet of music, afterall this a family operated business. The problem is that that the President of this organization, when the orgianiztion starts looking crappy, it her fault, because she has the power/hire at will. I think Jeannie is waiting for Jackson’s 5 year contract to dissolve with the Nicks, so that she and him can put the Lakers organization back on the right trac. I noticed that Jackson has given up on the trainguar offense.

  • joyce ward

I know about that. We all so the heated argument go viral. Supposedly they had kissed and made up. I guess not.LOL

  • joyce ward

This shows you how sophomoric kobe is. He probably mad about the article, when Lin revealed he called him at 1:00 am with his nonsenical rants, and it was revealed what Kobe really said. I love the fact that lin has enough leverage to expose the Lakers and there is really othing they can do without looking like retaliaters. Also this proves that Kobe was responsibile for lin being benched.LOL

  • webattorney

I guess she wants to avoid a bigger division with her brother, which is understandable. She does seem like a loyal person though. I can understand her mixed feelings for players on one-year contracts. I mean, as an employer, it’s understandable that you are loyal to players and people who helped you get the glory and money. Lin is just a visitor and passing through the Lakers organization, so nothing wrong with that.

I am surprised though that she seems to realize the need to build and keep the core group together to have any chance at winning rings, but she doesn’t seem to want to keep such players as Lin and Ed Davis who to me appear to be very loyal type of players who will give their best every day. Even aside from the pure talent, Ed Davis and Lin are the kind of players you want to keep.

Although I did not run a huge company, I did run a successful company in a niche market, so I do feel I am able to view things from an employer’s perspective.

  • TTNN

I know Jeremy was good with his defense recently, but still got shocked how good he was! He hold people under 50% within 6ft, and close to 40% under 10 ft. wow!

BTW, check JC’s number and you will laugh. Sorry, not hate on JC, but can’t help it. 🙂

    https://twitter.com/22NN4/status/584056046835990529

  • TTNN

I’m wondering when his shoes will be available in US.

  • Dan Cohen

so you know how to read chinese.

  • TTNN

well, I think they are holding big hope that playoff games are different from regular season, and they are hoping Rondo will play a big role in defense during play off, thus they are not giving up on Rondo yet. As they believe the opponent team will not let them play their game and trying to slow them down and that would play into Rondo’s hand.

However, being limited by their opponent and being limited by themselves are different, so do you want to limited by the opponent and you got only to play your game at stretches, or you kind of give up your game, and limited yourselves by playing Rondo? If it is for me, I’d still pick to play the team’s game, and looking for ways to do that. Since they are not really good to give up on their team’s identity. Their defense is bad, so slow down the game will really hurt that team.

  • Dan Cohen

it is too much… that tank blows up stuff and thus can win..
when people say tank.. it’s tank as a verb.. so find an image with tank as a verb.

  • Brent Yen

    Haters’ logic:
    1. Lin scores (Defender did a bad job, does not involve teammates).
    2. Lin good D (Offender had a bad game, Lin gets lucky).
    3. Lin does not score (See…he is a scrub, he should do this and that)
    4. Lin replaced by a no name. (Lin can’t D)..

    5. No name can not D (We will just find another Star (who still can not D))

  • webattorney

Rondo is a pure distributor only type of PG. In some sense, his style is becoming obsolete in the modern BB game. Same thing with Rubio. With this type of PGs, I don’t think you can win the ring anymore.

  • webattorney

Rondo not a very kissable guy. Lol

  • joyce ward

Thanks for your incite. I think that the reason not wanting to keep lin/davis is probably they don’t want overpay them and I think both players want a bigger role on the team.

  • joyce ward

Yeah, they are and people still hyping them up. It goes to show you that the NBA is not comfortable with Lin. Lin is a baller and they know it, but don’t want to acknowledge. The Lakers will overpay Rondo, so that he can pass the ball to kobe so that kobe can shoot. Rondo will become Kobe’s Derek Fisher. LOL

  • webattorney

But the difference is Derek Fisher didn’t complain much and did a lot of dirty work. Rondo acts like a superstar but is not a good player.

BTW, Cavaliers did a fantastic job bringing in Schumpert to their team.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He pulled him out in 4Q & put all the shooters in… but Carlisle is really nice & show Rondo respect. Maybe Cuban wants that..? He let Rondo closed the game even he couldn’t score or AS during that time.

  • Brent Yen

Historically, not really many PG dominate teams won championships.

  • Brent Yen

    So positive!!!

  • webattorney

They don’t dominate the game anyway. What I am saying is in playoff games, PGs need to be able to score.

  • Brent Yen

I am not sure if score is more important than defense or not. I mean if we just talk about PG. But it won’t hurt if your PG can score for sure.

  • CJSHYY
  • webattorney

It’s not as if Rubio and Rondo are lock-down defenders. In playoff, in important situations, I would just foul Rondo and make him shoot FTs. PGs have to be able to shoot FTs at least. Rondo is not it.

  • Brent Yen

Oh ya…Rondo is kind of a extreme outlier…..that FT% is rediculous

  • I also wonder what the hold up is.
Lin is not only popular with Asian-Americans but many fans from different background.

Maybe they wait to see how the Asian marketing launch can drum up some more publicity first

  • Rick Johnson

Obsolete Rondo would be perfect for the Obsolete Byron Scott / Kobe system. They call all be obsolete together while the rest of the NBA walks all over them.

  • Brent Yen
  • Brent Yen
  • This particular paragraph talking about rating, sponsorship interests and ticketsis interesting. I bet Lakers knew tickets/sponsorship went up in large part due to Lin in this tanking season. They had to know it will come down next season without Lin.

At the same time, I would hate the fact they’ll retain Lin for marketing and suppress his potential to play under BScott outdated system.

Lin leaving LA would be good to show what good things he had done this season to keep this team from falling apart.

LA just doesn’t see Lin as a player to build around especially with Kobe being present. I still have hope in 2-3 years they’ll chase Lin if Linsanity blows up somewhere else first.

I was looking for Jeanie or Jim for signs that they see basketball potential in Lin and I’m left disappointed so far.

“You look at the key indicators: OK, how are the ratings? The ratings are a little down.12 They are down relative to the Lakers, but they are still strong relative to an NBA team. Sponsorship interest is up. That’s good. The big indicator is tickets, and so far we are holding our own. Yeah, there are some soft nights every now and again, but by and large the interest is maintained. Now, if the team stays exactly where they are now, and you and I are having this conversation in another year, am I gonna say the same thing? I don’t know.”

  • Brent Yen

I think they are still betting on JC and Kobe and Randle….I mean Lin might be more effective, but might not be completely needed.

  • Nice, CBS guy in Miami, FL says good things about Lin!

His good stats are being noticed more and more

    8 more games to go!

Today is a Good Friday for Christians around the world. Will it inspire Jeremy to play well tonight against POR?
Perhaps it might give Jeremy extra motivation to give a little gift for his Savior!
Let’s hope Jeremy is back to 100% and gets back his explosiveness after recovering for Upper Respiratory Infection (UFI)!

    Let’s go, Jeremy!

  • Dan Cohen

ZAMMMMM… rondolo should know he is really over the hill and ready to roll.

  • Briiick

They underestimate the bad situation they are going to face next season. Forget that they can’t think straight now because they have two heads + kobe.

  • Spot

I think he wants a PG that buys in a system not a stat padder

  • Briiick

They couldn’t keep DH12, they can’t keep Lin.

  • Spot

    Think about what could be:

Pnr Jeremy / Tyson with Dirk and parsons beyond the arc.

  • I can guarantee that the sponsorship will drop for sure 😀
Just like HOU FO experienced and possibly one large reason to want Lin to come back

  • I take consolation that Jeremy got some Linsanity and #LinDavis excitement in Staples Center. So the same people will ask for Lin when things get rough next season. Perhaps they want him back in 2-3 years after Kobe retires
