Game 74 Charlotte Hornets vs Toronto Raptors: Familiar Opponent Might Help To Create Mini-Linsanity

With Lin’s offensive game improving in the past 3 games but with limited minutes, Charlotte Hornets might be a good team for Jeremy Lin to perform well in extended minutes.

In 3 games against the Hornets this season, Lin averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 assists, 2 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.3 blocks in 19.7 minutes per game with 63% shooting (44.4% 3-point shooting). He seemed to have performed well against his old teammates, perhaps due to the familiarity of how they play and the system.

With only 9 games left in the regular season, time is running out for Jeremy Lin to produce one or two Linsanity games that will convince Coach Nurse that his offensive skills can be called upon in their playoff run. This game might be one of the few games Lin can truly showcase his offensive outburst.

Lin seems to be fighting for the 9th spot in the playoff rotation with Norm Powell. They are behind Ibaka, VanVleet, Onunoby in the 2nd unit so it is of the utmost importance to Lin to produce memorable games in offense and defense to secure minutes in the playoff rotation.

Whether Lin’s health and current level of comfort of the Raptors system allow him to produce Linsanity games might still be unknown. But we know Lin has always given his best effort and that’s what we can always count on while wishing him the best.
