G74 CHA @ PHI Game Thread

With 9 games left in the regular season and the 6th place Hornets being 2 games back from 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference standing, JLin and the Hornets will make a strong push to secure home-court advantage in the playoff.

  • 2 games against the 76ers should help them to close the gap if they can focus
  • Will JLin continue to develop more chemistry and strong defensive/offensive plays on the court? Let’s hope so.

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and prayΒ JLin would not think too much and is able to get into his shooting rhythmΒ on the court.

After couple years in Taiwain, Joe can join the CBA as an exempt player. Not taking up a slot as an ex-pat player.

  • JKidd announced Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the starting PG next season.
I guess we can scratch Milwaukee Bucks from one of JLin’s possible FA destinations

    https://twitter.com/MySportsLegion/status/714872781733830661

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe he’s just pumping Antetokounmpo up to be trade bait.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Still 3 days till April 1st.

  • sws94

    a 6’11” PG? That’s insane.

  • I think Kidd is serious because Giannis has 4 triple-double this season while MCW is a disappointment

  • Apparently Kidd has been trying him as a Point Forward and/or a Point Guard while MCW is out injured

  • what’s on April 1st?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    April fool.

  • sws94

PF makes sense, he’s very tall to try at PG. Magic was 6’9″ but he was really exceptional at passing/court vision.

  • sws94

I agree. He may be the franchise player. Don’t think the Bucks want to part with him.

  • occupatio

psalm, it seems like the team logos on the top of the page are always super large and pixelated. the image does not need to be so big, especially if it ends up extending the image past its native resolution.

  • NONONO

Dreaming Lin will get 35 mins tonight and has 25+10. I know Clifford would not let it happen. But my dream was Lin on the other side and beat Hornets badly like last season.

hopefully I’ll find it soon πŸ™‚

  • oh πŸ™‚ .. yeah maybe he was Kidd-ing

  • DX

    Good one.

  • CJSHYY

Just saw this… LBJ unfollow The Cavs On Twitter? So he will be FA this summer too?

  • donsmacau

Kidd, during his playing days likely was ambivalent at best about Linsanity and watching some of the unnecessarily hard fouls he put on JLIN it feeling probably went far beyond just ambivalence — I never gave Bucks more than 3% chance for JLIN.

Problem with big PGs when standard sized PG pressures – simple physics of length of your dribble increases turnover susceptibilty. Yes you can post up smaller PGs but watch Mugsy Bogues defending bigs and you’ll see the problem. Even KD & Lebron can have issues. Magic epitomizes how Bigs need to play PG, nothing fancy back yourself down and fire a pass.

  • donsmacau

CLee’s arrival means Batum’s ball handling chores reduced as he switches to more SF from his point forward therefore fewer Turnovers because he certainly also suffers from the length of dribble issue.

  • Rick Johnson

Now trying to cover up. LOL

  • Rick Johnson

Pretty much sums up what Byron Scott is good for:

    https://twitter.com/NazzerLim/status/714689094903840769

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe Magic and his Showtime buddies are stealth destroying the Lakers so they can later come in an buy them out.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

They can’t afford it. If Clippers worth $2 bil the Lakers should be $3 at least.

Once Kobe is gone, they can rebuild the team with a new coach.

  • donsmacau

Many would disagree but like Byron Scott, Steve Clifford while perhaps not as bad, likely will revert back to a middling season after losing 1-2 key free agents next season.

For a short window, Byron Scott was extremely highly regarded as a coach because a confluence of luck and player initiative over any real coaching ability. Let’s see what happens to Cliff when JLIN & Marv leave the Bench/Starters

As a laker fan I’m glad Kobe id retiring but much more excited to see Jim Buss step down. He has no basketball acumen, experience, or love for the game. I don’t know how long it will be before Lakers are good again but at least get basketball people back in charge.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Don’t buy in Magic Johnson and his gangs propaganda, it’s not Jim Buss was the problem. In the past 2 years he has done everything Magic, Kobe and showtime buddies wanted him to do.

  • CJSHYY

    Don’t play. No need to….

  • DX

Same as before, he will play.

  • Arsenium12 .

Does anyone know the worst team in NBA history, based on regular season winning percentage? Apparently, it’s the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats. The season was only 66 games because of the lockout and the Bobcats lost the final 23 games.

The head coach was Paul Silas, father of Stephen. Stephen was an assistant coach. That was Kemba Walker’s rookie year. He’s the only player from that team that’s still in Charlotte.

    Record : 7-59
    Win percentage : .106
Points per game (for) – 87.0
Points per game (against) – 100.9

    See : http://www.landofbasketball.com/statistics/worst_seasons.htm

  • grover chang

That is true too. His dad Dr. Buss was the visionary and lead the organization. He wanted magic. He set the culture. And when players like shaq got pushy, he pushed them out. Dr. Buss at least was strong enough to set his direction.

  • Joe what do you know

Oh man… Just heard Lin is doubtful tonight. That sucks…

  • Whitman Lam

Which leads to fans and trolls to label him as being “inconsistent”.

  • Whitman Lam

The “Tank Commander” knows how to get that high draft pick, while shifting the blame onto his players. Which leads to MORE losing, and a Higher draft pick. It’s the opposite of a winning mentality.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Glad that finally JLin is taking care of himself. Believe he has this and ankle issue for a while if not months. He just played thru it all because Hornets needed him. Since they are playing Sixers, Hornets should be able to win without him. Good move and hopefully he won’t play next game too! Take rest when you can.

  • sws94

Aim for Saturday maybe. Sixers are down 3 players. Hornets should be able to handle it.

  • Joe what do you know

Man… I don’t think even any local kids league would want him to coach if he offers to do it for free.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Unlike his father, Jim inherited the team so he hardly get any respect from those Showtime and Kobe. Many things will change after this season when Kobe is out of their hair.

  • Whitman Lam

Maybe next year, the Lakers can break another record and win ZERO games !

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Trust me, if they play against Toronto or Cleveland tonight, Cliff wouldn’t let him sit out.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

  • donsmacau

What should be interesting is to see whether cynical Steve Clifford gives Jorge Gutierezz the small amount of JLIN’s playing time at point guard?

Or whether Clifford just plays Kemba and Batum 44 minutes each using up JLIN’s time.

  • rookie75094

    Let’s go Jlin! ! ! Spank the Philadelphia 65ers !!!!!! ( losses that is)

  • donsmacau

Don’t give up your cards too early JLIN.

  • cdblue10

    Lin is not playing tonite

  • CJSHYY
  • takemeback2reaganyears

The interview showed that he was ready for tonight but this must have been their plan to rest Jeremy.

  • donsmacau

    Or this:

If you’r CHA front office, why give Sixers who desperately need a starting point guard — another close up look at a top FA point guard.

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

Thank goodness i didn’t take the day off from work, get a sitter for all the kids, drive down to philly and shell out a ton of money for close up seats for this game. I took the advice of one of the posters who responded to my pondering and said that JLin may not be playing this game this late in regular season. I’ll look up which poster it was.

  • John Focker

It’d be hilarious if the Hornets team sans Lin loses to the Sixers.

  • donsmacau

Personally would not mind seeing JLIN surreptitiously suit up in a wig and Sixers singlet to see whether JLIN himself could lead his potential next season’s team with all the athletic young bigs in a classic Mike D’Antoni – Pick & Roll show of force.

Getting the DVR recorder ready in case that happens.

  • John Focker

You definitely dodged a bullet there. It makes sense to rest Lin and get him healthier for the playoffs.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Promote MDA, they’ll get Lin 99.9%.

  • DX

Confirmed? good for Lin, but I maybe skip the game too.

  • occupatio

this is a very good article on the deep and longstanding friendship between lebron and carmelo.
    http://thelab.bleacherreport.com/brotherhood/

while reading it, i kept thinking how lebron and carmelo, along with wade, were all eager to shut down linsanity in that miami game. cp3 is also tight with those three, and he too had the same attitude. ‘that’s your point guard’ he would say to carmelo and they would all laugh with disdain.

anyway, it shows how loyalties cut across team lines. there’s an inner circle of friends that is like a faction that protects its own.

  • donsmacau

Possible, notwithstanding coach Brown’s extension, that Brown gets fired by Colangelo next season anyway. Even if Brown is coach, MDA & Colangelo hold all the power

  • HVJoy

It’s a well deserved rest for Lin. Get better.

  • CJSHYY

So LBJ is going to join NYK next season? LOL!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

This kind of failure, usually the head coach has to go first.

INJURY UPDATE: @hornets Jeremy Lin (sore low back) is OUT tonight vs 76ers. #CHAatPHI

  • JLin Fan from Australia

So glad that JLin takes a rest:-) I can’t watch the game at all. All good in a sense:-)

  • DX

    Thanks,

  • heart

We’ll see Jorge Gutierrez backup KW tonight since Lin has been confirmed to be out.

    https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/714931502065254400

  • donsmacau

    I called it.

Know Steve Clifford like the back of my hand

  • cdblue10

That’s really explained about the lopsided game that was put in by Carmelo at that time.

  • heart

Tell us again. This is to rest Lin or not show casing him for 76rs or both, but they also want to see how Jorge Gutierrez play a full game… They’ll need Lin for the rest of the way until playoff standing is certain… I see that it’s going to be a dog fight after the two 76rs games…

  • cdblue10

Makes sense…more money, more media exposure and would be dub as Knicks savior. This guy has no loyalty at all, only for money and a big ego to feed.

  • donsmacau

All Politics with Clifford – at this point much with CHA is politics

    a) Send a message that JLIN is replaceable with an adequate alternative (if Jorge plays well)
    b) Do not allow JLIN to showcase his skills/abilities in the house of a prime suitor for JLIN nxt season.
    c) Rest? Sure – he has played on sore ankle 3mo/lower back spasms 2mos. could be get rest for Plyffs but odd game to rest – JLIN never got rest before all season – 2nd devastating reinjury got 1 game.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes smell the “salty” fish miles ahead.

  • heart

Look at this contrast—- Hornets rest Lin when they’re facing bottom #15 EC team,76rs, but rested KW when Hornets faced top #1 EC team, Cavs.

  • donsmacau

And Batum rested top #2 EC team, TOR

  • JLin Fan from Australia

So that Cliff favorites sons — Kemba and Batum can stat pad with no reprimand from JLin fans.

  • heart

Don’t forget, 76rs core players are out too. This game should be a cake walk for Hornets, but if they lose, it’ll be so embarrassing…

  • heart
  • donsmacau

Spencer Percy: “Rest, maybe” … maybe, seems Spencer also smells something fishy

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Saying Rest would insult other Hornet starters.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    LOL!!!

  • donsmacau

Jorge was playing in D-League not 20 days ago.

What better way to minimize/deflect all worldwide media discussion of Linsanity 2.0 than display an example of “noname player” who can have a “great” game too?

CHA believes they might gain leverage (so they think – but really they don’t) against JLIN & agents in potential re-sign negotiations. They don’t realize JLIN has no intention to return to CHA’s bench as KW backup.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

That’s a lot of miles from Australia.

  • jason

So jlin won’t be playing after all….
    Dawn it

  • That’s a very logical assessment.

With JLin signing his player option in the off-season, the Hornets can test-drive Jorge as a backup PG plus use the existing (minor) sore back to rest JLin.

Plus “hide” him from 76ers and MDA

  • JLin Fan from Australia

NO issue if they lose. I will celebrate this when it happens:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes I can smell this from Australia:-)

  • LinMad

i have a really good feeling that 76ers will kill Hornets with PnRs today now that Lin is out.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

OK My fun on speculation of why JLin was taken out from Sixers is over. Need to leave for different opponents now. Pray for dad as it will be decided when dad needs eye surgery or not. He lost his left eyesight more than couple months ago.

  • golfhacker

JLin being asked about playing Philly and how to defeat the Sixers on pre-game show…”We’re gonna be in spread pick and rolls all night, that’s part of the D’Antoni offense…” Please, please Jeremy do whatever you can to play wherever D’Antoni is next year!!!!!

  • LinMad

    who’s dad?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Whatever the decision will be hope it will all be well.

  • DX

Why Lin still sit with jersey? not suit?

  • will be praying for your dad.
Hope he won’t need surgery if not necessary

  • LinMad

    maybe he wasn’t told lol

  • heart

Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Yes, I pray for him and you. Please take care of him…

  • DX

    Shouldn’t be this sample.

  • Just in case the Hornets need his clutch FTs .. with 14 seconds left LOL

  • DX

Like this, but can Lin still play if put on out list?

  • Alain Gervais

Playoff close. Team will rest players especially if there are nagging injury. Interesting to see Hornets without Lin. Lin being fully healthy in playoffs is key

  • not sure if teams can take off a player from an injury list during a game
But I guess the Hornets is confident they can win. 76ers has 9-game losing streak now

  • Alain Gervais

Spurs resting a ton of players now as well. This is normal

  • DX

    Ya, 76ers sucks.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Last min decision or insurance?

  • sws94

I think it is possible, that you can do it half-time. But it’s rare for it to happen.

  • sws94

Collins said Lin’s back is not considered to be serious.

  • LinMad

Lin isn’t on the inactive list so they can bring him in if they want to.

  • Alain Gervais

We face the sixer twice. back to back. Might be some nice rest days.

  • and not in the injury list

    non-serious sore lower back

  • yes, that sounds very much like rest to me

  • LinMad

We’re playing the 76ers yet we’re not up by 10 yet?

  • Alain Gervais

This is how hornets could look next year.

  • LinMad

    or worse

  • DX

76ers is bad, but they still have chance if Hornets starts ISO.

  • Alain Gervais

Yup. They will throw a house or two at datum lol

  • LinMad

Cliff has no one to yell at today lol he usually goes berzerk when Lin is on the floor

  • lacking so much energy

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin rest because Hornets think they can afford.

  • DX

Agreed, think about removing Marvin too.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    LOL

  • sws94

He’s not enough. They need Marvin and Lin too. Both FAs. Well, all 3 are FAs.

  • LinMad

I think Batum makes less of an impact than Lin on whether a game is going to be a W

  • DX

They think will be a easy win. Let’s see.

  • james brown

so its only JLIN who need rest for tonite and other key player will be rested also..also said Lee will not play also?

  • Alain Gervais

It will be a hard pull. Lin may want to start. If he cant get a starting spot he may stay

  • John Focker

Bobcats trailing Sixers, but why am I not surprised?

  • LinMad

i have feeling Lin will play today cause his team is desperate for win

  • DX

I doubt, that will be like smashing face.

  • LinMad

I think this may be a game to show that CHA doesn’t need Lin for a W against a bottom team in the league lol

  • DX

The lady ref is on duty today. Lin missed.

  • LinMad

its that female ref too. Lin should have played today

  • LinMad

    can’t have another Linsanity night

  • DX

It’s OK, just save for Cavs.

  • John Focker

    Name’s Holtkamp…Lauren Holtkamp. πŸ™‚

  • LinMad

up by 4 in the first qtr against a 9-65 team…

  • GoJLin!

True, especially he voluntarily to mentions D’Antoni πŸ™‚

  • John Focker

So this is why Jeremy rested…Lin + Holtkamp + Sixers = Linsanity game!

  • DX

    And 76ers only shot 24%.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Most were open shots.

  • grover chang

Playoffs are coming! Playoffs are coming! Spurs rest Duncan. Thunder rest Durant. Cavs rest Lebron. And Hornets rest Jeremy Lin.

  • DX

    Yes, luck for Hornets.

  • LinMad

So the Hornets value Lin as much as Dunca/Durant/Lebron. Seems fair.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Big list.

  • Alain Gervais

    Very messy out there

  • LinMad

Cliff should be really mad right now.

  • Alain Gervais

Hornets look like they all want the day off

  • LinMad

but they had few days rest already

  • sws94

    Going through the motions.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Do the 6ers practice shooting at all?

  • DX

    Like all from D league.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

i guess thats one way of looking at it lol

  • DX

Kemba is 1-7, Batum 1-5, MW 1-4, this will be a long game.

  • GoJLin!

If CHA thinks like Spurs, Thunder, Cavs, they may want to rest KW or NB, their franchise players; but this game also is a good chance to pad the stats, so … turf decisions πŸ™‚

  • Alain Gervais

    Sixers cant make anything

  • DX

    76ers really suck.

  • sws94

What’s wrong with Noel? Team is hard to watch without him or Okafor.

  • james brown

ish seems so unselfish? offense of sixers not clicking though they pass the ball for better openings?

  • Alain Gervais

    Lamb is struggling a bunch

  • heart

I think they pass a little bit too much and don’t have time to make the basket.

  • heart

Hope Hinkie and BBrown out next season. 76rs need a new sleigh, MDA as head coach…

  • DX

That’s all useless passes. Can’t attack the rim and can’t shoot 3 even open.

  • Alain Gervais

    Team looks a mess

  • Briiick

Cliff can barely win against 76ers without Lin.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Hornets should be up by 16 or more.

  • heart

And 76rs don’t have Noel, the shot blocker, playing inside the paint tonight. O’kafor also is absent tonight.

  • DX

    This game is so boring!

  • Briiick

    No Lin no watching.

  • KWC

Why are you guys still watching?

  • james brown

thats what i am seeing, ish passing even he has opening inside can’t be mistaken as unselfishness, but if lin will be here, ish can be Lin useful back up and ish can pick up some tips from jlin.

  • Alain Gervais

Sixers don’t know what they are doing

  • DX

Why still so many audiences? free tickets + free beer?

  • Alain Gervais

No way in H.. Lin to the sixers

  • james brown

Zeller seems always surprised whenever he gets a pass inside?LOL

  • Yascar

Unless they have a tremendous offseason and acquire very good talent with some veteran presence, I totally agree with you.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

6ers play with no heart. They seem to give up the season.

  • heart

76rs won 9 games and lost 65 games so far this season. That takes a lot of toll on the body and mind to shake off losing mentality. Feel bad for the players to be in this ship. Like Lakers, 76rs management are not doing justice to these players. They need a big shake up in management and coaching staff. Winning or Losing mentality is also contagious… Very sad to see this happening… Hinkie is one of the culprits!!

  • james brown

what can we expect..they just fleeting right now!

  • james brown

well they are addressing this now but changes can be seen next season..new coach, new FO, new players!

  • CJSHYY

Just check box score, 76 didn’t shoot well either… I thought they should do well w O…?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

16 pts at half time, just like I guessed earlier.

  • heart

No heart, no motivation, no intelligent plays, passing for passing sake, passing their time to get off this ship?

  • Only Stauskas is playing well for the 76ers with 11pts (3-4 shooting) off the bench

  • Alain Gervais

Sixers coach is bad. He wait too long to adjust.

  • donsmacau

    Oh Ye of little faith.

    1) JLIN specializes in making a group of no name scrubs and making them play as a TEAM (you’re a fan of JLIN you should know this by now)
    2) Embiid, Okafor, Noel, Dario Saric MVP of Euroleague shooter from everywhere next season, Draft picks
    3) JLIN will have the trust of team FO/Coaching staff and have KEYS to run the offense every time on floor
    4) Little competition for starting point guard job because No top FA’s want Sixers job without huge money.
    5) Starting from a low-bar expectations BEATS high expectations from top team – NO pressure and easily achieve 1st year goal
    6) If Sixers good enough for MDA and Colanglo of USA basketball … good enough for JLIN
    7) If JLIN as franchise playmaker even gets 30 wins he is a STAR if he makes plyoffs he is a SUPERSTAR in Philly (beat Hornets bonus)

  • Alain Gervais

No way. Sixers have been bad since Allen iverson Left. There are ways to much issue for Lin to fix. Just like the sixers. They will draft another top rookie. They would have 4 rookies starting. Just say no i say

  • donsmacau

If Ish Smith can get 8 Wins then JLIN can get 40 WINs
    And I JUST say YES.

  • cshot

    hows jeremy doing yall?

  • Alain Gervais

    Not happening.

  • 76ers was much better in the last game
They definitely miss Nerlens Noel, Jerami Grant

    Also Okafor

  • Alain Gervais

    Not playing today

  • Alain Gervais

They’ve only won 6 games so it wasn’t much better

  • james brown

most poster here show FEAR instead of TRUST!

  • donsmacau

So where do you have JLIN going and what’s your rationale for success where he goes, who trusts JLIN where he goes, what happens to JLIN when he makes a simple mistake?

PHILLY will NEVER start a rookie draft pick at POINT GUARD under Colangelo/MDA ever, taht is why Ish was broguth in.

  • Alain Gervais

    Or reality

  • donsmacau

Agree – very true transference of their fears to JLIN.
JLIN is not afraid that is the most important.

  • james brown

    fear and trust is reality!

  • Alain Gervais

He needs the right coach, Media, Player, Fans off the team for him to fit and be accepted and to play well. Lin. If he doesn’t get a place to start then he will likely return to hornets. We will see. Sixers is the last option

  • james brown

    well said

  • HVJoy

Cavaliers v. Rockets game just started on TNT. Go Cavaliers.
Lebron James sits on bench in suits.

  • Alain Gervais

A team being bad for the last 10 years is reality

  • cshot

    whyyyy?!

  • donsmacau

    So name a “right coach”
Perhaps Clifford is your “right coach”?

And you are completely off base, the best place for JLIN is a “losing team” think.

  • james brown

but a bad team now can be the greatest tomorrow..also a reality of the future!

  • donsmacau

You are ostensibly a fan of JLIN but have very little knowledge of the types of “no-name” players that he has made better – made them play as a team beating true teams of superstars.

  • Alain Gervais

Stop looking for another Linsanity. It won’t happen. Even Insanity had a top coach and media place for Lin. Just bad FO. And bad coach once dantoni was fired. Bad teammate once Melo came back. Lin doesn’t fit anywhere.

  • donsmacau

Why are you even a JLIN fan? With that sort of attitude perhaps you should find a different favorite player…

  • Alain Gervais

Cliff is a good coach. Does some great thing for Lin some not so great things. Best coach Lin has had since dantoni which isn’t saying much. If he will abe a sixth man then stay in Charlotte. He won’t find a better sixth man role in the nba.

  • donsmacau

JLIN refuses to be a Bench scrub player for the rest of his career. Go and read any of his past words/quotes.

Sounds like you would love JLIN to give up his dream of starting and leading his own team – I’m not the type of fan that thinks my favorite player should give up his dream.

Good thing he wont follow the advice of his detractors

  • Grace

Did you see how happy D’Antoni is for Ish Smith when he made his first 3 (1-3) even if they’re down by 10? Wow…

  • Alain Gervais

Yes because you ideas defend what a Linfan should think. Insanity won’t happen much in history because it usually never does. He is a better player but also scouted. Insanity won’t happen again. He can be better. More well rounded. Score a ton. Win a chip. When i say Insanity won’t happen I’m not saying he won’t average 17 and 7. Im saying him taking a unknown squad and being unknown won’t happen because it already has.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin iss a sixth man of the year contender. He is not a scrub

  • Rick Johnson

Lin not in a suit? Anybody see him say hello to MDA?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

TNT pays big money to air NBA games, LBJ decided to sit.

  • donsmacau

Oh yeah, Linsanity won’t happen again.
Tell that to SPURS, CAVS, TOR, and LAC twice in the pre-season.

JLIN said you can’t expect LINSANITY if you don’t have the ball in your hand. JLIN has NEVER EVER SAID that LINSANITY type performance can’t be replicated.

Take your pessimism and try to be positive if you are truly a fan, because what you said about Linsanity is NOT what JLIN believes neither do I.

  • GameWatcher

    rest for playoff

  • donsmacau

The way Hornets use JLIN as a stand-in-corner guard on the BENCH – he is a bench scrub.

JLIN does not aspire to be 6th man but you do, he cares not about what detractors want from him

  • cdblue10

These guards from 76’ers are just mediocre at best.Put Lin ,MWilliams,Embiid,Noel and Covington on these team and will be an automatic play off team

  • Alain Gervais

I just said i didn’t mean that. I meant he is well known. So the scenario of hi taking an unknown team and him also being unknown won’t him because he is known. He is well scouted. He needs other players to play well. Not 4 rookies. Charlotte has good players. Sixers do not.Charlette has smart players. Sixers do not. You cant just put Lin with any 4 players and boom insanity. Just why didn’t it happen in Lakers then???

  • HVJoy

    Go figure!

  • Alain Gervais

    Yes insult perfect

  • donsmacau

Who does he play for next season – It seems you have NO other response other than Charlotte.

Charlotte apologists do not realize taht JLIN has planned to USE CHA from the moment he signed with his artificially low contract with OPT-OUT he is showcasing skill to DIVORCE CHA easily and move to starting PG job

If you think he remains in CHA uniform after all his planning – you will be disappointed.

  • donsmacau

If you understand the word, you would know its a question not an insult. Go look it up..

  • Alain Gervais

Bye. Lin said no to Sixers before. He will likely again. He will do as he wish. This Little talk doesn’t matter. If i remember correctly he said. They are rebuilding every year.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

If I were a security guard, I would ask for ID from most of 76ers. I have no idea who they are.

  • Alain Gervais

You basically said Im not a real fan. apparently or purportedly, but perhaps not actually. Thats an insult. Like i said some of Lin fans are way too much for a lot of teams. Lin cant go to the Spurs because you guys would turn on pop so quickly. He need the right environment mostly because his fans are tough for a lot of teams.

  • donsmacau

I can see how you are a supporter of the previously banned woman.
Same obstinance to reason and rationale without providing any corroboration from JLIN’s past words. No you both use nothing but hearsay, personal opinion to support your positions.

As with her, I will let you have your last word as is your wont.

  • Yascar

Linsanity was a perfect storm which may not happen again. It may, but probably not. I happen to believe that Jeremy has transcended that time – he is a better all around player, more mature and can navigate NBA politics better than he used to. For me, he doesn’t need D’Antoni or an exact Linsanity like environment to be great again. In that sense, I have more faith in him than those of you who believe he can only be successful if he reunites with MDA.

But he can not do it on his own. It’s a team game and IMO the Sixers have been losing far too long to turn it around in one or two seasons. If he chooses to be in Philly next season, I will be here as always to support him. But right now, with the roster they have and the FO in shambles, no.

  • sws94

I agree Yascar. Well said. Go Lin!

  • Alain Gervais

Just beause you use big word don’t mean you have any idea what you are talking about. Instead of writing big words. Put some actual meaning behind them. Hollow intelligence is still hollow.

  • Alain Gervais

    Some sanity thank you

  • donsmacau

What is wrong with have wishing to re-join with a trusted Mentor who believes in your ability and only wishes positive things for your career?

Would you suggest Tim Duncan and innumerable other players to leave their mentor coaches? Or how about the players who returned play for years, decade for their mentor coach? What do you say … oh you just Needed Popovich, Phil Jackson, Tommy Heinsohn….???

  • cdblue10

Lamb has no confidence compare to the early part of regular season

  • Lam

To be honest, I think I won’t be surprise if some of the fans here turns on D’Antonni too.

  • Alain Gervais

Lol yup. I remember some fans scolding Him for playing Lin too much

  • cdblue10

Wow Covington is a good shooter

  • vincent

anyone know if there was any interaction between lin and MDA?

  • Alain Gervais

Sixers are on average 23 years old. With a 36 year old eldon brand. And some of you want Lin there. Would be like high school all over again

  • cdblue10

I hope you wouldn’t think that they will have the same players next year because they have money and a lot of assets to burn

  • Alain Gervais

They’ve had that for 4 years in a row

  • cdblue10

    Different FO this time

  • Alain Gervais

    10 point game

  • donsmacau

Are you even able to make a coherent argument?
    1. JLIN is 28 and they are 24 not much difference
    2. SIXERS actively looking for VETERANS go do research
    3. NBA are PROFESSIONAL players not some amateur children, they are paid to play and only play
    4. Dont put your childish woes on the NBA

  • cdblue10

Even without Lin they will improve tremendously next year

  • Alain Gervais

I will watch them. Hoping for the best. Honestly i expect more mess. Cant deal with losing like the lakers

  • cdblue10

Yep me too,for sure Lin is smart enough to choose what’s good for him

  • sport

DNP most games of course he’d lose his shooting streak and confidence.

  • Alain Gervais

Remember last year sixers was an option. Lin said he didn’t want to go there. Idk what would change that. Dantoni isn’t the coach there.

  • cdblue10

He’s good as gone next yr for a trade with the way he is playing

  • Alain Gervais

Does he get to see insulting me like that

  • We can see how the Hornets plays without JLin .
They have tendency to become a jump-shooting team without his drives & penetration + PnRs

  • cdblue10

I can’t really tell also if he will choose 76’ers but it’s always the best to play for the coach that he trust, just my 2 cents.

  • sport

Not if Lin’s their leading PG! Look at what he did with Hornets even when marginalized. If he’s fully unleashed with Sixers he’d get that team to the playoffs. Depending on the winning records, Lin would be in all-star talks. Don’t forget MDA and Colangelo are there to change everything.

  • donsmacau

Did I call you anything? My do you act like a sensitive, little buttercup.

Guess I should put my kid-gloves on when responding to your posts. You provide as many oblique insulting comments as anyone.

  • GoJLin!

I was surprised at this game CHA still playing NB, KW & Lee for 36+, 34+, 34+ mins! unbelievable!

  • donsmacau

Defense too allowing beaten teams back into games.

  • ok, let’s be patient with fellow Lin fans.
Good arguments but please don’t call others “childish” since it breaks the forum rules.
    Let’s take it easy πŸ™‚

    http://www.jlinportal.com/website-rules-must-read/

    8. No personal insults. (Example: β€œYou are a clueless fan who obviously has never watched basketball.”)

  • james brown

where in my post did i say insulting word? i just remarked that we shouldn’t say never because for everything there’s a time for it..and if you still can’t get it, i have no more words to say.

  • they definitely slack off on defense allowing those wide-open 3s
    JLin’s defensive energy is missing

  • Alain Gervais

    He is wearing me thin.

  • sport

Except Lin can’t lead his own team if the FO and those in charge don’t allow him to! How many teams have we seen rather promote a fake star then give him a fair chance to lead the team as starting PG? Why do you think stars get coaches who don’t use them in favor fired? Would you like Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, and Kobe to leave Phil Jackson and Popovich?!

  • donsmacau

The woes are “childish” that is a distinction between calling a poster Childish.

The action is childish the person is not. That does NOT break rule of personal insult.

So do I get to go back and raise flags on his posts too?

  • yes, that’s not very wise at all being up 15-20pts with 3 min left

  • Alain Gervais

Sixers have been bad for years. I watch basketball way before Lin. They’ve always been bad.Lin won’t change it. Simply being a Lin fan won’t change the sixers Luck

  • vincent

is jlin on the bench andif yes has anyone spotted him talk to MDA?

  • Alain Gervais

Not to mention the I’m not a real fan jab below because you know you define what a Lin fan is

  • donsmacau

Thank you for deleting his post.

He accused me – “and you know zero about basketball”?

First it is patently wrong and second it is clearly insulting.

  • sws94

He’s on the bench. He hasn’t been shown much and when he was shown, they said his back soreness isn’t serious and he doesn’t wear gel in his hair when not playing. That’s all I saw.

  • sport

ILin isn’t looking for bench or sixth man role! He’s looking to start! It’s exactly this reason that he won’t stay as a Hornet! Why do you think Hornets started playing Lin more right after MDA got hired by Sixers? Because they saw threat and new Lin would reunite with MDA his best coach who is never threaten by his smarts unlike other coaches including Cliff.

  • vincent

    your back!

  • CaliUSMC

Who would you rather see the Hornets play in the first round?
    Miami, Boston, or Atlanta?
I think Atlanta will be a really bad match up.

  • Alain Gervais

I deleted it. It went bit too far. still You don’t understand some thing. Lin isn’t god

  • cdblue10

    Boston

  • Alain Gervais

They are definitely worse. Sixers are missing more then what Lin brings. I will watch their offseason moves to see what they do

  • Barry Allen

    Boston.
    Miami missing Bosh too.

  • Alain Gervais

Boston or miami. Atlanta would beat them pretty easily. Move past 6th no matter what

  • Briiick

    Street-ball team.

  • Alain Gervais

    They are missing too much.

  • let’s be cool with all possibilities

About Lin to 76ers, it might still have some merit because with healthy Okafor, Noel, Joel Embiid, Jerami Grant, it can be a different team.

Personally, I think Bucks will be a better team if JKidd believes in JLin but if MDA believes in Lin, it could be 76ers or Nets or whoever might want him as a head coach

  • swijaya

May need to categorize this as incompetent coaching!

  • Alain Gervais

    Sorry not to you

  • sport

sixth is still just a bench player. Why do you think Harden gave up his “sixth man of the year” job at OKC to being a starter on his own team in Rockets?! Winning that award doesn’t mean anything if you have the skills to lead your own team and Lin does, way more than Harden even would have!

  • Boston is a bad matchup, I think with 0-2 record
Miami sans Bosh is probably best since they had close games even with the one they lost

  • Alain Gervais

The bucks just made their SF a PG. The style also don’t fit

  • sws94

John Havlicek was a 6th man. He’s known as a great player. Just want to make that point. Lin is not a scrub and I don’t think most sane or observant people would see him as one.

  • sport

If you don’t want Lin to being starting scoring at will then why are you a fans? You’re tell fans and Lin to give up and just be a bench player that’s your loser mentality. That type of thinking is no different from Cliff’s insulting Lin saying he was a bench player all his career when he started for 3 seasons!

  • CaliUSMC

Yeah I definitely think Miami is the better match up out of the 3. I think their legs will eventually give up on them if Hornets play fastball.

  • Alain Gervais

Ofcourse i want him to start. Sixth man of the year gets paid then starts. My thinking lol

  • it really depends if JKidd believes in JLin which is still a big question mark.

I don’t really trust Kidd with all the history as player, soda spills, etc. and Nets assistant coach. Something is off with him

  • sport

Sixers are forced to change by the NBA that’s why Colangelo is there and MDA is hired by him! They are no longer rebuilding and Hinkie no longer has any power.

  • Alain Gervais

    Again i didn’t say that

  • yes, DWade legs are so tired and the Heat will be inefficient with him

  • sws94

It’s a better team, no depth. But much better.

Kidd seems to believe in really tall players. I don’t see a 6’11” player as a PG. Greek freak is very talented and can facilitate, but as PG, well, we’ll see if Kidd pulls it off.

  • Alain Gervais

The offseason is still too far away.Lets enjoy the postseason. Offseason tends to be different then what we think

  • freemind

maybe stats stacking but what gives? KW 5-19 4-12 ?? not looking too good. Batum is on a roll tho.

  • sport

And what did the games where he started as sole PG beating Cavs and Spurs with 20+ points tell you?! That Linsanity never lefted! All Lin needed was a legit starting PG role with minutes and touches, not stand in the corner and get out of the way role!

  • sws94

I really dislike Lin playing against Miami. Whiteside, athletic, young guards looking to trap him, Spo designing defenses to lock down PGs and especially Lin, I really hope we don’t get Miami either. At least Lin has more room to operate against Boston and he’s had really good games against them.

  • Alain Gervais

Best option for Lin to go Insanity is The Heat altough heat always guard Lin well. Want the easy option first so anything but the Hawks. They are a better us

  • sport

Sorry to break it to you but I have not clue who John Havlicek is. Never even heard of that name! I only know Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Kobe, Shaq, Lebron, Steph Curry the stars!

  • sws94

Hornets starting unit is better than theirs. But their bench is young and maybe better than the Hornet’s bench.

  • Alain Gervais

Worst case senerio for Lin is still a great sixth man. I still want him to start

  • Alain Gervais

    we will see.

  • yes, so many things can happen.
We just need to trust JLin that he’ll make the best decision since we might not know all the information (i.e. Mavs non-signing last season)

  • cdblue10

Veteran teams always plays better during the playoff so I would choose Boston .

  • Rick Johnson

So does this mean JLin going to be on the Rockets or Pelicans next year? Seems to work out that way:

    https://twitter.com/NBAcom/status/714970710339424257

  • sport

Many bench players look like studs when playing with Lin. Look at how great Lamb looked with 20+ every game before they were separated! Lin has the ability to bring out the best in his teammates!

  • Linzen

Respect to you guys! No JLIN and you’re still watching Hornets basketball. πŸ‘

  • sws94

He came off of the bench in the Spurs game.

  • sport

They don’t even want him playing. No clue why Hornets gave him that big contract if they weren’t going to feature him! If they don’t trade him in off season he’s in for another miserable season.

  • Alain Gervais

Unless harden has been incredibly humbled no way. Rox fans are a no go zone

  • sws94

His numbers are best when starting. That can’t be disputed. Next best, 6th man role.

  • sws94

He’s before them. And they know who Havlicek is πŸ™‚

  • sport

Looks like we’ll know whether China fans really hate Rockets as much as the survey said. If so don’t think anyone would be supporting them. They’d be lucky if they don’t get booed.

  • sport

JKidd with his drink spilling to by time out, I don’t he’s a good coach. If he was any good Bucks won’t still be a bottom team.

  • Alain Gervais

would people Hate Lin going back to the Knicks? Was a big rumors a week ago??

  • Just a friendly reminder to JLin fans to enjoy the last 8 regular games and hope for a deep playoff run that can potentially raise JLin’s FA values even more

Even if each of us have strong feelings that JLin should go to a certain place (i.e. any MDA team, 76ers, Nets, Hornets, etc. ), let’s be patient and respectful with one another πŸ™‚
My suggestion is to present your arguments well but allow others to have different perspective and don’t put down their opinions.

And let’s remember to trust JLin that he’ll make the best decision for his career since we might not know all the information in the media (i.e. JLin didn’t disclose why he didn’t sign with the Mavs last season)

  • Rick Johnson

Nice fans but I don’t want to see him making money for Dolan.

  • sws94

Guess my feeling about this game is Hornets are more interesting and fun to watch with Lin. And 76ers look way better with Noel. Okafor adds a lot as well.

  • cdblue10

No,I would love him to go back to the Knicks

  • sws94

Wouldn’t love it. Wouldn’t hate it. Whatever he chooses.

  • Alain Gervais

Me two. Melo look =s to be getting old. Lin and the rookie would over take melo this time.

  • Alain Gervais

Well. He would have to swallow his pride. a pay Lin lol

  • GoJLin!

At the shoot around, JLIN mentions D’Antoni; but camera did not show too much of him at game time. Since JLIN not play tonight, a lot of Lin fan took off earlier, they might come back later and bring in some pic and news.

  • Rick Johnson

Too many minutes, shooting slump, happens. Maybe next 76ers game they will sit Kemba for a rest and let JLin start at PG.

  • sws94

No solid coach yet. That’s my biggest problem there. I like feeling like having a coach that seems to get Lin and will want to use him knowing he may use him to an acceptable amount of his capabilities and game style.

  • sws94

And I can’t see him doing that. But I guess stranger things have happened in the world.

  • Rick Johnson

He would make more than enough in TV ratings, jersey sales, sponsorship’s to pay Lin.

  • sport

Lin was open to return to Knicks even with Melo there so it’s really up to Dolan and what they offer. If it’s a starting PG and big contract Lin will definitely think about it.

  • Alain Gervais

I still think thats the fantasy. They still need him. $ years and still need Lin. Swallow you pride old man.

  • Alain Gervais

Billionaire have egos. Its maybe too much for his ego

  • sport

*cross finger and hope Melo pisses Dolan off the roof* Then Dolan trades him and signs Lin to show him up!

  • Alain Gervais

in a heart beat but dolan in the way.

  • Alain Gervais

lol im in the bahamas right now don’t wake me up.

  • cdblue10

I would say over the years Melo have already respect Lin’s game since he always torch them every time he plays on that arena…to me the garden is always JLins home.

  • Alain Gervais

Its crazy of Lins last 3 teams. except for the lakers they all need a player like him. Rox definitely miss Lin. Knicks are a mess without him. Why do teams seem to hate Lin once he is gone and not appreciate him. Hornets might be another one

  • jimmyL

    DNP-CD? or injury?

  • Alain Gervais

    slightly both

  • jimmyL

    who careswhatever helps his career

  • jimmyL

they still support rockets because of Lin

  • jimmyL

    huh?

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

If he gets a chance to start than yes, he should go back there….I’m still not sure there will be many team offering JLIN a bigger role than what he has in Charlotte, so if the Knicks is willing to give him that, I would have no problem with Dolan making money off of it.

  • Lefon Jang

They’ll have to get rid of one of the bigs, either Noel or Okafor.

  • Rick Johnson

    Back pains, resting.

  • jimmyL

    so not really a DNP-CD
not like the one he received in LA last year…

  • Alain Gervais

Playoffs close. Heal to get ready for a deep playoff run

  • Rick Johnson

CLE 59, HOU 42 without LeBron.

  • Alain Gervais

Bev 3 fouls in 12 minutes

  • GoJLin!

JLIN looks fine at the shootaround, but he did mentions D’Antoni; so officially he is “sore lower back” but who knows… But since Spurs, Thunder, Cavs all rest their “the most important player”, we thought CHA is a faster learner tonight, guess what they pick to rest JLIN and play NB, KW for >35 min.

  • jimmyL

well they are playing the worst team in the league…

  • heart

It was reported that he’s out due to sore back pain before game time. But I just checked the box score, it now has changed to DNP Coach’s Decision. I thought I saw DND Sore Back before that. It has changed?

  • jimmyL

    Houston plz!

  • Win

Hate it!!! No more Melo and Harden. Lakers is ok only if Byron Scott is gone. But D’angelo Russell seem like a jerk like kobe.

  • heart

Guys/gals, the box score listed Lin got DNP’s tonight… Don’t know what happened…

  • jimmyL

    injury then
    NBA wasnt informed in time

  • jimmyL

just injury too last minute though

  • Win

Bev is so so so overrated.

  • heart

Yep, you saw it too? I think it changed from DND sore back to DNP…

  • Win

Good for Lin to rest a game. He has have the ice bag on his back for quite sometime now.

  • Win

Then Rockets and Pelicans might interested in Lin this off season.

  • Win

We should make sure all Lin fans in China knows how bad the Rockets and Harden treated Lin.

  • Vincent

Remember when james hrden said he deserved the mvp award over curry last year πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • Rick Johnson

If that’s the only place that will start him but Knicks are so flawed. Jackson / Rambis Triangle is an archaic joke that doesn’t take advantage of a scoring / play-making PG that pushes the pace and gets transition baskets. Melo is a self centered Prima-Dona cancer that’s killing the Knicks. Such a bad organization. Rather see him with the Nets.

  • Win

    Batum triple doubles

  • CJSHYY

I used to love Lin back to NYK but after last summer the response from NYK…. I don’t see Dolan will make Lin an offer this summer either.

  • JE Ballew

Walker may not be happy with that. Of course Walker had a great shooting night.

  • GoJLin!

Yes, in the beginning it list as DND – sore back, then in the half, it did not list anything (player MIN: 00:00), I thought, may be CHA play too bad, he will play for low minutes, then while ago changed to DNP – Coach’s Decision, it is strange.

  • james brown

and melo needs a championship now more than ever!

  • CJSHYY

He control all the ball so… I don’t see that is big deal now…. as long as the player control the ball & get the reb from Big….Lance used to get the most triple doubles in his contract year but only got the contract from Hornets.

  • heart

You saw it too. My eyes didn’t deceive me then… Wow, it’s too bad. So if it’s stayed in record, then Lin actually got his 2nd DNPs. First one w/ Hornets this season.. Lakers/BS DNP’d him to not play against Spurs game. Very upsetting if it stays this way…

  • CJSHYY

Haha! I think so next season two of them will fight for ASG.

  • cdblue10

He’s not a player that can a lead a team but as a second option he can be lethal and yes he still have the chance to have a ring if he will accept that.

  • GoJLin!

Happy for Batum! But comma, Sixers are down 3 good players today, CHA really need to play him 37+ min before the playoff?

  • Rick Johnson

Perhaps DND which means ‘did no dress” is for injured players and should be in a suit but could get fined if not in a suit. But if changed to DNP-CD he wouldn’t get fined for not being in a suit?

  • james brown

that’s why it might be acceptable now with melo the jlin’s reunion!.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

they’re horrible on so many level. they got all the old and slow guys to run the triangle but they can’t even run it. Rambis is just as bad as BS with his old-school tough guy act. Zen is a horrible GM. Melo is a horrible team player. Dolan is a horrible owner. he and Melo’s agents conspired to get rid of MDA and then Lin when they told him to go get a contract and then turned around and blamed him for it. last year, they flat out turned Lin away when he reached out to them. that tells me everything i needed to know. Lin should never consider them again

  • cdblue10

Yep,I will definitely support it if Lin chooses to go to Knicks.

  • CJSHYY

No, I guess just Rox wants to use Yao helps them to get more business from China …. of course also helps their Harden to get more fans.

  • heart

Hope so. Now Lin got 2 DNPs in his record. Probably Cliff decided late to not play him, so he didn’t bring his suit. Politics at work again…

  • cdblue10

We can’t really predict what Lin would want next season, for all we know he will choose Jazz than everything else.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

meh. sixers in full tanking mode

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

If he has a choice between Knicks or Nets, than I agree, he should pick Nets, but if not, he should go play for Knicks instead of lesser role in Charlotte, playing for a coach like Clifford that can only see him as a bench player.

My hope is that Phil Jackson is forced to hire a coach that isn’t too big in the triangle offense…Maybe the ex-Bulls coach.

  • Rick Johnson

Wow, look at all the fan’s that came out to see JLin:

    https://twitter.com/matt_mullin/status/714989822939627520

  • DrewBear2

I wouldn’t worry about it. Clifford in pregame interview said he’s more “doubtful” and would make the decision after warmups. That’s why Jeremy was in uniform.

This link to the interview pops up an annoying ad, so be warned: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nba/charlotte-hornets/article68862132.html

  • james brown

he’s a DNP-CD that needs to address his follower even on his non playing games!

  • CJSHYY

Too bad, but at least they got the picture ….

  • HVJoy

I too saw the change from DND-sore back to DNP-CD on the Box Score on nba.com. But, on the Game Story after the game, it said “G Jeremy Lin (sore back) didn’t play.”
    under “TIPS-IN”.

What difference would this make for Lin?

  • cdblue10

NBA can’t deny him now,he is bringing a lot of money to the game along with his great games lately,no wonder NBA is featuring him pretty hard.

  • dave lam

Must suck if you pay to see the game to see Lin and he doesn’t play. At least he showed to do pictures.

  • GoJLin!

At last DNP, he cry so bad, but this one he smile a lot! Good, if Lin is happy, it solve a lot of thing πŸ™‚

  • james brown

well..cliff is in..”lets see if i still need jlin usage this game mode”..no surprise for me..its cliff and he will not change his style!

  • dave lam

It doesn’t make any difference. Spurs DNP their top stars last two games

  • james brown

does batum/KW address also his fans after the game?..LOL!…

  • Win

That’s why I am not sure if I wanna see Lin with the sixers. If MDA is the head coach then is a different story.

  • Win

If Kemba play less today (I mean today only), Hornets would have won by 30 pts.

Saw Lebron listed on the inactive list for rest. Durant rests and got listed as DNP on tonight’s box score. Lin was listed as sore back and now DNP. Don’t know any more…

  • HVJoy

You are correct: Leonard, Paker, West were listed as “DNP-CD” on the Box Score in the game vs. Grizzlies yesterday

  • HVJoy

Wonder what’s the reason behind the change though…

  • donsmacau

Note that the Sixers outscored the Hornets by 1 pt in the 2nd half – perhaps meaningless but they were without their best 5 players (add Saric) and Hornets starters played 37min ave.

  • John Focker

Time to regret getting rid of Blatt.

  • Win

I have been thinking but even more so after this game that Hornets really no room for Lin next season when MKG is back. I am pretty sure they will re-sign Lee as he seems like a perfect fit with Kemba and Batum and also Clifford him a lot.

  • Win
  • blueCypher

I see Lee as insurance for MKG this season. Once MKG comes back next season he is less valuable to the hornets.

  • cdblue10

Lin and Williams did all the heavy loads at the beginning of the season, and they passed a lot of hurdles to get into where they are now, next season will be a different story.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin spot on the hornets is not effected by Lee. HE is pretty unique few has his skill set. Anyways i think 6 players are free agents form hornets. Theres too much possibilities for us to figure where Lin will fit. Lets enjoy the offseason guys. no Offseason talk. We honestly could be pleasantly surprised in the next 2 month by how Lin does and the team does in the playoffs.

  • cdblue10

  • blueCypher

Lee is NOT a playmaker. He is a 3 and D type player.

  • CJSHYY

Hornets don’t need him as playmaker… there always will have Kemba or Batum next to him.

  • blueCypher

I meant that he is not a direct replacement for Lin

  • CJSHYY

Who knows… but somehow I think he maybe will…. they both took almost the same shots… about 10 shots per game.

  • grover chang

  • This is pretty bad since Russel’s prank resulted in a broken trust between him & Lakers teammates. He might have to be moved if noone trusts him anymore.
And it sounds like it wasn’t the 1st trust issue.

At a recent breakfast meeting, one source said, no Laker would sit with Russell at his table. The source added that, in another instance, Russell came into the locker room and sat next to guard Lou Williams, who got up and walked away.

“It’s bad,” one team source told ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne. “It’s about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there’s no trust.”

Please don’t say that. It’s not his fault. Coach decision. Lin has been playing even if he is hurt. Right now, the handcuffs are stronger and tightened. The coach will only unlock the handcuffs if they are playing against a strong team. Otherwise it’s DNP-CD for Lin. Forget about the 6 MOY award. This league is too bias for an Asian to win those awards. They will give it to somebody else. I’m hoping I’m wrong on this but it’s the way they treated Lin on this league. Sigh!

  • adele

At this point, Lin is on handcuffs for non playoffs teams. He will be DNP-CD (they have to say he is hurt to avoid a lot of questions from the media and fans). Also, I hope they will not play against Cleveland. JR and lebron plays dirty on Lin. Playoffs is beyond physical. I’m concerned about Lin getting hurt for this team. This is not his home. He is just a transient so to speak. He already contributed so much with low pay.

  • cdblue10

Let’s just support him from now on,every win that Hornets will get will also credited to him as a player, enjoy the game and you will be more happier.Playoff is around the corner and Lin always delivered in big games.

  • Rick Johnson

He might be injured. We’ve been speculating it’s effected his shot all season. I remember how hot he came out shooting the second year at Houston then had back spasms which ended it. Hope he gets it resolved by playoffs.

Nah, playoffs are ALWAYS EASIER than the regular season for Lin.

Because of the increased media scrutiny and handpicked refs, there’s a lot less dirty cheating from the refs in the playoffs against Lin than in the regular season.

The increased physicality will really mess up the soft Hornets, particularly the starters who outside of Zeller have played soft and slow all year. But the bench will flourish, led by Lin.

    NBA Free-Agency 2016: Jeremy Lin rated no.4 free-agent PG

Lin is averaging at least 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists this season.

Potential interested teams: Hornets, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and Charlotte Hornets

Jeremy Lin’s next NBA team: 5 possible destinations in 2016 offseason

Jeremy Lin has an opt-in option in his current contract with the Charlotte Hornets so he has a chance to move to another NBA team if he decides to leave in the 2016 offseason. Where will the Asian-American point guard land next season?

Would he stay with the Hornets even though he is not a starter? Would he choose to move on to another squad if he thinks he’d be in a better situation with regards to playing time and role with the team?

Here are 5 teams that could be interested in Jeremy Lin if he hits free agency in the summer of 2016:

    1. San Antonio Spurs – Tony Parker is not the same anymore and is already 33 years old. The French point guard is better off coming off the bench as his defense is lacking at this point of his career.

The Spurs don’t have salary cap space next season but Lin gave the Hornets a discount and he could again give San Antonio the same discount next year especially because the Spurs will remain title contenders with the presence of stars Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge.

    2. Brooklyn Nets – The Nets need a starting point guard and Jeremy Lin might just be the solution in their problem. Lin back in New York will also be a good story as he can relive β€œLinsanity” all over again and this time playing for his former team New York Knicks’ biggest rivals.

    3. Philadelphia 76ers – The 76ers also need a point guard and Lin will provide the veteran leadership for the young team. With their front court already set, the 76ers will need an established backcourt and they can start with Lin at the point guard spot.

    4. New York Knicks – Lin back to New York? It is still a possibility as the franchise moves on to a different direction in making Kristaps Porzingis their franchise player. Carmelo Anthony may or may not stay in New York and could be traded. The New York team is very weak at point guard and they need a starting point guard quality like Lin.

    5. Sacramento Kings – Rajon Rondo may leave in the offseason because of the controversies in Sacramento. Jeremy Lin will immediately start for the Kings if he signs with the California team. Lin’s ability to penetrate and run the team will also be a good fit with star DeMarcus Cousins, if the Kings do not trade him next season.

The Hornets are on their way to the 2016 NBA Playoffs and Lin can leave a good impression on other NBA teams if he performs well in the postseason. Will he stay in Charlotte? Or will other teams provide a better opportunity and role for Jeremy Lin next season?

  • John Focker

You must’ve missed the Bowen days… LOL

  • John Focker

Kings is a terrible and unlikely destination. According to a Chinese reporter, Cousins had mocked Lin to the point of making his own teammates feel awkward.

  • CJSHYY

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I thought Bradford Coombs is ok until I read his tweets. This is what he thinks of Lin: Worth “5-7M” for next season and “inconsistent with glimpse of brilliance”.. He probably thinks Lin as a permanent backup player… Don’t tell me that Lin should settle for this SCRAPS! BTW, he thinks “Stephanie Ready is still the best”…

  • Rick Johnson

Bookmark it and throw it back in his face when Lin leaves with a big contract.

  • heart

Remember this. Lin is ‘nobody’ to them… Using him to win important games where their franchise player(s) couldn’t while changing and reducing his minutes and role sporadically, then calling him (Lin) inconsistent! Hypocrisy at its height!

  • Howan Cheung

Sorry to hear, losing eyesight is also one of my great fears.

  • CJSHYY

No need to care what he thought… look at his tweets lots of no one RT it at all…. next season they will know how Hornets will play w/o Lin… LOL!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I do like his idea of how to destroy the Hornets after Lin’s gone by giving Batum max contract of $25 mil a year. So with the mind like his thinking Lin is worth $5-7M is no surprise.

  • KHuang

It all starts and ends with Byron Scott’s BAD CHARACTER.

His toxic ways have completely sunken the Lakers franchise for years to come.

  • Alain Gervais

5-7 mill ins in last years market not this upcoming year

  • KHuang

I don’t want Lin playing for the Knicks if the terrible Byron Scott clone Kurt Rambis is coaching.

Rambis has done everything possible to ruin the Knicks, including benching the young players and overvaluing the washed up veterans.

I followed Rambis when he was a hapless Wolves coach. He is even worse now than he was back then.

I am fine if they are angry at him for leaking the tape to the ‘press’/paparazzi he should have taken the info straight to Iggy and let them handle it privately… But in fact most are just angry that he broke the ‘bro code’ … When a bro is cheating you stay out of it. and even cover for him. That Bro code stuff has got to stop. I always wonder what these guys will think when they have daughters and this happens to them. Don’t they want their daughters to know? to have the chance to leave a cheater… to not be made a fool of?!? to not be subject to diseases from infidelity?!?!

    No.

Just wanted to let people see what kind of thinking these Hornets media bloggers think of Lin and that’s what they will spout to the public….

Read his thought process from the bottom up starting with the second, he said “the market determines your worth and he’s basically been the same player for years now. Inconsistent with glimpses of brilliance.” His 3rd tweet from bottom up said: “why should that market be any hotter now than it was last summer? Then, he concludes Lin is 5M-7M player perhaps w/ option…. Basically, after what Lin has done for this team so far, he still thinks Lin is worth as much as as Lamb or less…

    So happy for him.

    So talented

He’s just a kid but hes very talented he just needs to grow up

  • Alain Gervais

5-7 million with a player option seem correct. With out players option seems correct. If no players option then 10 million.

  • Alain Gervais

if the reporter said Lin would get 5-7 million with a player option then this is correct if Lin goes for a players option again. If not then 9-12 million probably 10 million. Thats my guess or hope if you will.

  • CJSHYY

    My guess 12M or above….

  • Alain Gervais

    hopefully

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He’s no reporter. He’s just a fan with a website and a twitter account with about 500 followers.

  • Alain Gervais

Yea i know. He is just hoping Lin get that so the hornets can keep Lin.

  • CJSHYY

Impossible. Curry’s dad said before last season end… he can see Lin plays w Curry & Thompson…. he said he’s worth at least 10M…. Long story… Lin picked Hornets all bc he thought he will be able to play his game…anyway, season almost end now. I am not worry about his FA. Can’t wait for July to come….

  • CJSHYY

Exactly. Some of Lin’s fans used to follow him but don’t know why not anymore….

  • NBA.com writers voted on the best backup PG. Mostly Shaun Livingston and Schroder although JLin got 1 mention as favorite
I remember Schroder got good Net Rating vs backup but JLin was most clutch against starters in crunch time last 2-4 min of 4th quarter. I’ll try to look it up.

  • Alain Gervais

How is that guy better then Lin. What a joke.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Livingston is the best backup. Lin being a back up is insulting. he’s a starter misused as a backup

  • CJSHYY

I think bc these two teams had better ranking than Hornets… Somehow I really think NBA tried to help Lin to get the 6th man? He got mentioned a lot recently….

  • Alain Gervais

both guys have much worst stats then Lin. This is why I’m skeptical on lin getting Sixth man. People hate for no reason. Over look him so effortlessly

  • CJSHYY

Feel the same way about this title & 6th man… I sort of want him to get it but also don’t like the idea… ??? Dilemma…..Plus look at past few years these players got 6th man didn’t get good result in their FA….

  • Alain Gervais

Players option takes million away from the deal. Team needs a reason to do players option.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

yup. it’d be nice to get the 6th man award cus then he’d get paid. but then again. he’s way above being used as the 6th man, it’s insulting. i’ll never accept the way he’s being used these past few years. if he ever gets used properly as a starting POINT GUARD, he’d kill it

  • CJSHYY

Hope he can be like Harden get the 6th man then gets starting job for his new team.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

depends on how the world views the player. the 6th man title may stick and he ends up like Swaggyp and Lou Williams

  • CJSHYY

    That’s why I don’t like the 6th man…. Don’t want the label w him forever ….

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

Swaggyp did mention that very same thing last year

  • Rick Johnson

Those guys all get to play PG. How about if you force them to play out of position as SG 75% of the time.

Hope JLin’s back is okay. Wonder if he should rest another game against the lowly 76ers to be ready for the Cav’s?

  • donsmacau

Bingo – hit nail right on the head.

  • Rick Johnson
  • zxcvb

BTW: Kenny Atkinson is a top head coach candidate this offseason and has been speculated on by Nets writers/fans.

He worked closely with Lin even when Lin was a 15th man nobody with the Knicks. He was instrumental in developing Lin’s game and Lin raved about him. He’s highly respected as a modern, cerebral coach. Not the “old school” (i.e. outdated) approach of some coaches (cough).

MDA is obviously the best coaching option for Lin, but Atkinson is another good choice.

  • adele

    That’s what I thought.

  • donsmacau

    a) [NY Post] Steve Clifford: “Mike D’Antoni always wanted to try to find a way to get Jeremy Lin on his team again” Nov.’15

    b) Steve Clifford was an assistant coach under Mike D’Antoni

Steve Clifford sits JLIN in front of Mike D’Antoni — (no complaints of back in shootaround or practice, just gametime)

  • CJSHYY

    Kenny Atkinson is good.

  • zxcvb

Lin has never done well in blowouts. He’s unselfish and loses his “killer instinct” when a game is too easy. He just sets up other guys and slops the ball around. Lots of Spurs guys are the same way. I see Duncan and Parker having “awful” stat games when the team dominates overall.

  • donsmacau

Nets recently acquired shooting coach – “David Nurse” and JLIN are friends – go out to eat together.

  • zxcvb

Another good sign. I mean, who knows what happens this summer, but I see Brooklyn as more likely than Philly. Or Charlotte. For some reason, I think it’ll be Brooklyn or some total surprise team we haven’t even thought of. Like Utah or Denver or whatever.

  • zxcvb

The biggest roadblock I see is that Philly probably wants to draft a PG like Kris Dunn. Or sign a younger PG like Schroeder. Someone who can grow with their young bigs (and possibly Simmons).

And Brooklyn probably wants a “fresh” name like Atkinson or Messina. Hoping for the best this offseason…Lin needs to be unleashed. He’s ready to beast if given the reins.

  • donsmacau

My opinion is Nets at about 15% chance and Sixers 70% simply because of the Colangelo/MDA factor… but we are all speculating now.

Video released by Colangelo yesterday (he & MDA very close) – really shows that Colangelo has all the power and HInkie/Brown not even in video. Very postive words by Colangelo.
    http://www.nba.com/sixers/video/teams/sixers/2016/03/29/1459272716479-renewaljerry-colangelo.mp4-401281

  • donsmacau

This season (forced to acquire Ish Smith) really proved to the 76ers that there is no way they would ever start a rookie PG.

Moreover, Colangelo and MDA who drove the decision for a veteran point guard are set in only veterans at point.

  • zxcvb

Yeah, Hinkie is probably a goner after the draft. And Brown getting only a small 2yr extension makes it easy to fire him. That deal looked a lot like “severance pay.”

  • donsmacau

The day D’Antoni was hired by Colangelo, the Philly sportswriters where saying Brown lasts 18 months at the most.

Hinkie got the young talent but Colangelo is getting experienced free agents in off season – Hinkie might want to go elsewhere because his power is gone.

  • CJSHYY

I believe Colangelo & MDA will take over in the future.

  • zxcvb

I WANT TO BELIEVE. But it just seems to good to be true. A team giving him the reins to run an MDA offense with talented, super-athletic young bigs? Lin is not that lucky.

  • It’s interesting how Colangelo promoted ‘a quick turnaround’ for 76ers.
If Colangelo and MDA remembered how quickly they turned around the Suns with Nash, they might follow the same blueprint by signing JLin.

Let’s hope that’s the case here. JLin just needs at least 1 team with a lot of interest as a starting PG then more teams might follow

  • TTNN

I like Utah! Their GM and coach are from Spurs system

They also have space to sign Lin. They also have really nice big to work with.

  • donsmacau

MDA and JLIN I believe are personally dissatisfied to put it mildly that the world believes that what they did in New York was a fluke and one time-flash-in-pan.

Both MDA & JLIN are top competitors and they would LOVE the chance to show the world that Linsanity was not a one-time phenomenon — they would dedicate themselves to proving that to every doubter.

  • GameWatcher

Watching ATL and TOR, both are playing pretty crappy.

    K. Humphries swung both of his arms in front of Derozan’s neck to prevent him from driving to the basket. Coach Casey immediately stood up to protest the act and the ref instantly blew the whistle. Then went to have a review the play from the Replay Center. Result: Flagrant 1 foul call was assessed on K. Humphries.

Again, what a difference of standards of treatment against Lin in this league–> We have not seen Clifford or any of his past coaches after NY days protest any of Lin’s hard fouls. Even some blatant flagrant hits on Lin have been quickly swept under the rug w/o review. Some commentators even chimed in and said it’s not ‘intentional’.

  • Rick Johnson

Flagrant 1 doesn’t even need to be intentional

  • heart

Exactly! Lin normally gets hit in the head or the neck above the shoulders and still didn’t even get a whistle for a regular foul call, needless to say a review or flagrant foul call against his opponent.

  • Pete Roces

Sorry, refs won’t call it a foul coz Lin is not a player on court, he is just a statue.

  • donsmacau

    A statue that drips blood

  • donsmacau

Spencer Hawes tracks down great friend and former teammate Elton Brand before the game – Spencer Hawes is also probably JLIN’s best pal on Hornets (in majority of JLIN’s pics).

Hope Hawes told Elton how fantastic JLIN would be in leading the Sixer turnaround.

Since Elton Brand highly trusted by Colangelo and Sixers as legacy former player, this would make up for the missed opportunity of Hornets preventing a 2nd JLIN audition in front of the Philly home org.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I would if I were them. They must be reunited once more before retirement.

  • Rick Johnson

Raptors ahead of Hawks 93 to 72 in the 4th. Hornets could move up to just 1 game behind the Hawks and 3rd seed if they lose.

  • BobbyH

LOL, help defense. They don’t have any off and on court until now. Just looked at last season how many defense help did Lin provide on court?

  • sport

Also MDA dislike tailor to volume shooting stars. If there’s anyone he wants on his team it’s Lin. I hope those two games against Cavs and Spurs were enough material for MDA to convince Colangelo to give the reigns to Lin!

  • I agree. It’s not coincidence MDA expressed his desire to coach JLin again publicly.

They just need FO and ownership that is willing to give them a chance to prove Linsanity was not a fluke and can get better πŸ€πŸ’ͺ🏻

  • jimmyL

LOL i dont think hawes would do that for Lin

  • kauaiblue

Ive seen that most teams r creppy. Nba does not have a good product.

So tired of the double standards that Lin is facing in this League. The NBA is using Lin for marketing and that’s it. These NBA writers/bloggers/twitters purposely use Lin’s name to get clicks and draw traffic to their website. When it comes down to actually giving Lin awards or recognition, don’t count on it! This article title says “Who’s the best backup point guard in the NBA?”. NBA twitter baited the readers by including Lin’s picture in its tweet. But when you click to read the article, NONE and I mean NONE of the NBA writers would pick Lin as the title stated. Lin’s name only mentioned ONCE in the entire article! http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2016/03/30/blogtable-the-best-backup-point-guard-in-the-nba-is/?cid=nbacomsocial_tw_sf23384675

Those don’t want to click, here’s the excerpt:

That’s why I don’t search for JLin’s new and articles anymore, they are mostly disappointing. Better to just come here to see latest updates.

  • Alain Gervais

    Utah jazz need a PG.

  • Win

Thanks god Mavericks won. I really want to see Rockets get knock out of playoff this season.

  • blueCypher

    Dante Exum is currently injured

  • Alain Gervais

    Averages 4 ppg. 22 minutes.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I agree with you…After 3 years of drafting big mens, the Sixers will most likely draft a PG and I’ve also heard the same report as you that Sixers may draft Kris Dunn of Providence.

If Sixers draft a rookie PG, Jeremy Lin should stay away because Sixers will focus on developing him and give him every opportunity to be the starting PG.

If it’s possible, Lin should strongly lean toward signing with team that has no entrenched PG or top 5 rookie PG……Team like Kings(if Rondo leave) Nets, Knicks, Mavs(If D.Will leave).

A lot of people have been mentioning Utah, but they forget that Utah drafted a PG last year that they are very high on. His name is Exum and he’s 19 I believe. He’s currently injured for the year but I expect the Jazz to give him a chance to be their starting PG.

  • blueCypher

I think they are gonna ride out their draft pick for at least one more season.

  • Alain Gervais

trey burke is the real starter. He lost his job to Neto who also is a rookie who averages 6 PPG

  • blueCypher

I actually like the prospect of Lin + Hayward

  • kauaiblue

Rox doomed always… will never root for them

  • CJSHYY

I think so Hawes probably tried to get his own job first….

  • John Focker

Lin’s in a double misuse situation, starting PG used as backup SG.

  • Brewkowski

They are both wrong. Cheating? Let alone your fiancee? Entrapping teammate in private conversation and then leaking it to the public. Both scumbags.

  • Yascar

Lakers are tied with Miami 67-67, end of the third.

  • blubell
  • Steppen03

I surely hope so. But it’s still sweet to see them go 0-4 in playoffs.

    Memphis. Grizzlies.
They sure can use a quality PG that can really score from now and onward.

  • Steppen03

Beasleys been such a boost for ’em. If he’s not there they already long gone.

  • CJSHYY

I really hope Hornets can vs Heat in playoff… they are not good. Almost loss to Lakers now…?!

  • Steppen03

I’m not sold on the Sixers. There’s too many problems plus MDA is not the one calling the shots.

  • sws94

But Lin doesn’t usually play well against the Heat. He’s better against Raptors, Boston, Cavs and others.

  • sws94

overtime, Wade miss the buzzer beater but it wasn’t a good shot. He’s also hobbling around after he fell hard.

  • CJSHYY

Boston? I hope not bc Hornets vs Celtics were always not good.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Can’t believe it’s OT…..Heat is not good. They even had hard time to beat this Lakers….smh!

  • sws94

Their 2nd unit didn’t play well tonight and Scott didn’t play Kobe while Clarkson, Randle and Russell played pretty well. I think the Heat underestimated the Lakers.

  • sws94

Miami loses to the Lakers in OT. They fall into 5th place.

  • james brown

why do we lack foresight when its not yet time for it to happen? we want to have everything now to believe?..

if it will happen it will be unraveled at the right time!

  • Maknusia

Yeah that was a surprising win by LAL

  • Yascar

    Wow thanks. I couldn’t finish the 4th.

  • HVJoy

Lakers was a real spoiler for Heat then — but may be good for Hornets?

  • Ben Johnson

Atlanta lost also, Hornets have an outside chance at the 3 seed, and a pretty good chance for a 4 or 5 seed

  • Maknusia

    yup…good for eastern conference πŸ™‚

  • Maknusia

but we have 4 tough road games…so its difficult to say how we gonna fair, especially if Lin’s playing time is limited…lets see

  • Ben Johnson

    http://www.playoffstatus.com/nba/easternstandings.html

Before tonight, Hornets had a 64% of being a 3, 4, or 5 seed (according to this reputable website IMO)…but you’re right, without a healthy Lin playing 25+ mins/game, NO CHANCE, hehe πŸ˜€

  • Maknusia

    To me
    Key players…Lin, MW, NB…
    Supporting… KW, JL, TD, SH,
    Rotational…. AJ, CL, JG

If CC keeps second group and third group above’s rotation in check…we get WINs!

  • Rick Johnson

If Boston loses to Portland tomorrow then Hornets will move to 5th place.

  • sws94

I’d add KW to key. Where’s Frank and Cody? Both rotational, Cody gets his points mostly from Nic, tip-ins.

    JG?

  • Maknusia

Actually I was inbetween…but looking how at times…he goes on iso…i dont mean personal iso…but team iso…ignoring players and thinking the burden is on him to carry…thats the reason I had placed him on second group….but he is indeed an offensive factor

  • Maknusia

JG is less scouted and he could be the havoc creator for opponent in a very limited minutes injector to just change the momentum of the game.

  • bolero

Like Lin said , if there’s Jeremy Lin in it he doesn’t click it. lol

yeah KW.. the key is to limit his minutes as much as possible! πŸ˜€

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I always thought that Trey Burke was a better player than Neto, so I wouldn’t make too much about Neto beating out Trey as a big deal….That was probably the coach preferring a specific player for weird reasons…Just like Byron Scott benching Lin for Ronnie Price.

Or McHale benching Lin for Pat Beverley…

Trey Burke is clearly a better player than Neto from what I’ve seen and he’s only 23, so he has room to improve further.

Exum on the other hand, is really the main reason why I doubt Utah will offer Lin the starting PG role…Exum is regarded as their future starting PG and just like a previous poster stated, he’s their guy that they drafter 5th overall and they will give Exum every opportunity to win the starting PG spot next year once he’s back from injury.

The only positive is that Exum is about 6’6, so maybe him and Lin can co-exist in a Utah starting line up, but I seriously doubt they would bring in Lin to be their starting shooting guard since they already have guys like Rodney Hood, Hayward and the injured Alec Burke to play there.

I think it’s more about hate than doubt. Opponents don’t strategize against players they doubt

    Good read about Warrior’s success.

Kerr’s willingness to at least consider suggestions from almost any source may have saved the Warriors during last year’s championship series. They were behind Cleveland, 2-1, when Nick U’Ren β€” Kerr’s assistant, whose responsibilities include constructing the musical playlists used during practices and splicing highlight reels β€” happened to be watching a tape of the 2014 playoffs. Noticing how San Antonio defended LeBron James, he suggested that the Warriors replace Bogut in the lineup with Andre Iguodala, who is half a foot shorter but athletic enough to at least force James to work to get good shots. Kerr took the suggestion, and the Warriors didn’t lose another game. Kerr publicly gave U’Ren the credit.

β€œI’ve played for nine different organizations,” Shaun Livingston, a Warriors guard, told me, β€œand I’ve never seen anything like that. This wasn’t even an assistant coach; it was a video coordinator. And Steve Kerr listened to him, and he did it. All the bridges are open here. There’s an open forum of ideas. A good idea really can come from anywhere. And that kind of thinking has to start at the top.”

Here is a listing of the remaining schedules for Charlotte and its immediate competitors. Charlotte playing Boston or Miami in the first round would be desirable. Boston winds up its schedule playing Atlanta, Charlotte, and Miami.

Maybe she knew she had no chance because it didnt happen. People do that to famous people all the time because thats the easiest way to get money. She sued because she wanted money and she still got it. Not a fan of Kobe but Kobe is not dumb enough to do such thang

  • jimmyL

    Toronto will wreck them too
    Heat and Boston are tough
Atlanta is much better than them they have 2 top notch bigs
    Charlotte bigs are awful

  • KHuang

I’d call Lin the single key player.

Supporting would be Al Jefferson, Jeremy Lamb, Marvin Williams, and Frank Kaminsky.

The rest of the team would be the role players.

My criteria is based on how impactful a particular player is on winning.

  • KHuang

    ABSOLUTELY AGREE.

Walker’s low efficiency game and zero defense are extremely harmful to the Hornets.

The less Walker plays, the better the Hornets do.

  • KHuang

I think that’s more bad luck than a matchup problem.

When Lin is on his game and not banged up, NO ONE can stop him.

Besides, Lin’s made sure that people like Dwayne Wade don’t go off.

  • KHuang

    On offense yes, defense no.

  • jimmyL

Kemba should be a key player too he played so well this season He’s been so clutch too
    Charlotte needs KW
Jefferson can also be an effective scorer but he should be supporting
Courtney Lee can be useful too

  • KHuang

My order of playoff difficulty from hardest to easiest:

    1. Boston – Isaiah Thomas OWNS Kemba Walker on both ends of the court. That’s because Walker mistakenly thinks he can huck shots against Thomas. Boston has less talent than the Hornets, but Walker’s poor play evens the odds in Boston’s favor. Walker against Boston kills the Hornets more than Thomas does.

    2. Miami – None of the Heat are a threat except for one player: Hassan Whiteside. He is playing like the best center in the NBA and he is one of a handful of players who can seriously bother Lin’s drives to the rim. When Lin is bothered offensively, the Hornets have a hard time winning.

    3. Atlanta – Lin always plays well against them. That’s because Atlanta’s athletic guards shut down Walker and Batum, thus forcing the Hornets to rely on Lin more. Atlanta doesn’t have any player that has been able to slow Lin down, as Lin is a huge physical nightmare matchup against them.

  • KHuang

I fear Toronto less than I fear Boston or Miami or Atlanta.

That’s because Toronto cannot match up with Lin physically.

The key to the playoffs is Lin’s health, not the opponent. That’s because when Lin is healthy, he can bring the terrible Charlotte starters back from ANY deficit.

  • cdblue10

Lin always beat Toronto,he knows how to play them.

  • KHuang

The one team in the East that scares me the most against the Hornets is Orlando.

Fortunately, they are out of the playoff picture.

The reason Orlando scares me is that Kemba Walker hogs like crazy against them but can’t score, plus Jeremy Lin gets matched up against Victor Oladipo who is one of the few NBA swingmen athletic enough to stop Lin’s iso offense.

Lin would easily score on Oladipo like Lin has in the past, but Walker and Batum’s ballhogging end up taking away the picks and cuts that historically have freed Lin from Oladipo.

  • jimmyL

It’s a team effort and what if Lin doesnt play much?
Toronto is the 2nd seed for a reason they are for real

  • jimmyL

There’s no guarantee Lin will play a lot
    and Toronto is legit

  • KHuang

That is the case for Lin against ANY opponent.

But Lin indeed knows how to beat Toronto. Their guards are not athletic enough to stop him or score over him.

  • KHuang

Toronto is a good regular season team that historically cannot athletically handle playoff basketball.

Lin does not need to play a lot to make a major winning impact.

  • sws94

I don’t remember him being on his game against Miami. Either he is disrupted by Spo’s targeting him with traps and full court or half-court presses, or he gets some room to be bothered by Whiteside.

He had 17 in the very first game of the season and did OK. Since, I don’t remember any strong games against them. And I remember a lot of games he struggled against them prior to this season. That’s why I’m not that crazy about getting them in the playoffs.

  • DX

    My order is:

  • donsmacau

    “He won’t know” because ….

…. Clifford will tell JLIN whether Hornets want JLIN auditioning in front of the Sixers coaching staff, just as with previous game.

How his back feels is incidental to the decision to play.

  • rookie75094

If Jlin plays pg….I don’t fear anyone .

  • sws94

Maybe not earlier in the season but now Lin and Batum have good chemistry. In Batum’s post-game the talk was of creating off of each other and getting hockey assists and the reporter said he and Kemba can do that. Nic said also Jeremy Lin. He said Lamb can do it some and Frank has it in his game and Spencer, but he wanted to make sure that Lin was included as one of the big creator/facilitators on the team.

  • sws94

On the 3/29 pre-game interview, Clifford was asked about their playoff style going into the playoffs, if he’ll go more through Kemba. He said they’ll play the same way, though Kemba, through Nic, through Al, through Jeremy Lin. Play the same way, doesn’t think they’ll reinvent themselves in the playoffs.

  • DX

He is 6.7 now;) Just need more gem or some ties.

  • Interesting analysis on the disappointing Wizards season after upsetting the Raptors last season in playoff. Short bench, lack of defense, non-healthy Beal were quoted as major reasons
    https://twitter.com/HoopsHabit/status/715600700353458178

  • I would think JLin’s court-vision, playmaking, team-defense would take this Wizards further as a team than John Wall’s individual talent would.

But #1 draft pick Wall would always have multiple chances due to the team investment

  • No surprise there. But I think JLin has found his stride in this team to score first then create opportunities later. That would be the main difference IMO

  • sws94

I heard it as 4th option usage. Like ball-handling scorer, main facilitator, post-up player, facilitator/scorer. I think that’s why Lin didn’t touch the ball much in the lineups where he plays with all of them. When Kemba is off, then Lin’s usage increases a lot. Then he can score and facilitate, do more of whatever he thinks the defense is giving him.

Boston has a tough schedule. Key though is that Charlotte has to beat them head to head, that would put Boston to the end of the this pack. Atlanta also has difficult schedule playing TOR twice (one they’ve already lost) and CLE twice. MIA vulnerable too now that they lost to the Lakers. Hopefully Charlotte can keep winning and move up. CLE, TOR, BOS games are key for Charlotte.

  • KHuang

    Nobody has been more
critical of Lin’s prior shot form than me.

    But NOW?

    I love Lin’s shot form.

He now has the same mechanics as Stephen Curry. Looks great, feels great.

One of the best things about Lin going to both the Lakers and Hornets is that their shooting coaches have worked hard with Lin to repair his jump shot.

When Lin shoots the proper form, he gets elite results.

  • KHuang

    ALFALFA

  • KHuang

The good teams (playoff bound) tend to squeeze the ball out of Walker and Batum’s iso grasp.

Lin then gets the ball more because he knows how to cut and catch even with no plays being run for him.

  • KHuang

The Wizards are another 80s style slowdown iso team due to head coach Randy Wittman.

They still haven’t adjusted to modern day zone defenses.

  • Hm, I thought Lin has been working with Doc to lower his point of release so he won’t have to jump as high since last summer?

If yes, then both Doc and Hornets shooting coach have been helping Lin with the new shooting form.

  • TTNN

not really, practice could be none contact, different from game though.

    Charlotte Hornets Playoff Weekly Update
    43-31, 9.0GB, key games: @CLE, @TOR

The Hornets continue their great play of basketball as they finished out a pathetically easy March. They pounded on every easy team they faced and managed to get some big wins to make up for the bad ones. Now they had into April with a chance to make some noise against the top of the conference. They’ve always given Toronto trouble and it will be nice to see if that holds, and with Cleveland playing so bad this is a great chance for Charlotte to send a message. However, like Boston they’re in the same situation right now of having to pick the route with LeBron James on it or the one with Atlanta in the first round. They don’t own many tiebreakers so if the Hornets want to move up they’re going to need to keep winning games and hope for some luck.

  • donsmacau

Allow me to be a bit facetious – One can look at an ankle to see swelling or no. Not sure how to look at a back. If he’s witnessed facial grimace or signs of pain that would be something since JLIN is an ironman.

What part Sixers coaches and Clifford’s former boss MDA watching JLIN in another audition plays, is anyone’s guess.

“Needs to be careful” – Predicting JLIN does NOT play despite looking great on the 3pt shots in practice.

Why no “needs to be careful” barely 3 days after JLIN was lying on the floor in agony after having re-rolled the ankle?

  • Food day is good, Fools day not so much πŸ™‚
    Need to stay alert

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin has been misused since day one of the regular season. Would have been in much better situation.

  • donsmacau

Fully Healthy Hornets -> Healthy Kembatum
    – Healthy Kemba -> Kemba starting point guard
    — Kemba point guard -> JLIN stand-in corner guard
    — JLIN combo corner guard -> Hornets LOSE against CLE & TOR

  • I’m sure JLin can play if given the green light.
I notice the story wasn’t JLin asking to be held out after the shoot-around so it definitely wasn’t Lin decision

They definitely want to see Jorge plays in some winnable games to see if he might be a good 3rd string PG for next season.

  • donsmacau

Jorge shot 100% made 1-1 that is good news.

Bad news, in 12 minutes he had 2 turnovers – (1 might not have been his fault) but seems Clifford was more intent on playing starters 37 mins than watching Jorge.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Because they would be 9 or 10 seed now had Lin didn’t sacrifice his ankle.

  • The Hornets definitely never envisioned JLin to be part of the core players because they would have started Kemba and him in the backcourt to see how the chemistry grows.

It’s always about testing Kemba/Batum as the main playmakers while having JLin off-the-bench as an insurance or the X-factor to win games.

I think JLin has come to terms with this so he just played freely since the DEN game prior to the Spurs game. He just wants to maximize this season no matter what happens next season

  • donsmacau

Agree, JLIN has completely come to terms – although he did go through a bit of consternation when MKG came back and suddenly his minutes drop dramatically.

But it’s easy to come to terms and just ply instinctively when you know that season-end, you hopefully are going to something better.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Agree with you, just 3/4 of the season went wrong way.

  • I saw Jorge had chances to shoot but he made extra effort to make an outlet pass. He might be good as the 3rd string PG. I didn’t realize this is his 4th season. He seemed like a good guy

  • donsmacau

He’s also 27 yo – did the full college years. Frankly I love his story, underdog every bit as much as JLIN but has not (and might never) get his break-out moment.

I wish him only the best – if Hornets pick him up or another NBA team that would be wonderful – DIVERSITY in the NBA shall breed even more diversity.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! Guess my mind is in somewhere else.

  • JoeTeam

What a great share, picked up my spirits. GSW !!! makin’ us happy every day.

  • sws94

I have a different view. I think he’s a core player regardless. It was supposed to be MKG who is a forward starting all along but injuries had PJ and now Lee playing, both of whom are longer (wingspans) than Lin which Cliff prefers for defense (important, because primarily MKG is known for defense). Lin provided so much depth, he stayed as that depth in my view (but of course was great insurance to start when major pieces like Batum and Kemba couldn’t). I just view bench players, especially those that close a good amount of games, as much more valuable and much more of the deciding factor than most here. I think the starters on most good teams stay more or less close to other starters on most good teams. But the real difference is how good their benches are. Guys like Livingston, Lin, Iguodala, Schroder, Crawford on the Clippers, Ginobili, even Whiteside now become core to the team’s identities and a big part of their reason for being winning teams.

  • thanks for the heads-up, I meant I need to stay alert from any incoming April Fools prank πŸ™‚

  • donsmacau

Of entire universe of NBA Bench players – just ONE is satisfied – Ginobili on bench.
All the rest (even Iguodala) if given the opportunity would prefer STARTING due to practical and cosmetic concerns.

    1) STARTERs make between 60% and 6000% more money than bench players
    2) Regularity of starter minutes and team roles are well-defined which is critical to most players to play well.
    3) Did Harden or Batum (was quote in Portland, “Batum loves bench” do you think Batum would welcome bench now?
    4) You will never find one player (x-Ginobili) who PREFERS to come off bench and CLOSE rather than start and sometimes NOT close – if they do they have a flaw.

  • it really depends how we define “core player”.

Yes, Cho and Clifford have been consistent to reiterate that JLin’s role is to come off the bench and start in some games if necessary.

To me, it means he’s an important role player that can finish some games in the Hornets. But definitely not “core player” like Kemba and Batum as starters who are given more playmaking by design and more allowance to make mistakes, more shots, etc.

That’s fine as that’s the Hornets direction. Starters should definitely get more min and they can see Kemba/Lee backcourt working out more with Lee’s natural catch-and-shoot player plus length to provide more defense while Kemba focused on offense as mentioned by CHA announcers(which I think it’s a flaw since it resembles Harden/Bev disaster)

If there are no more NBA teams offering bigger role utilizing JLin’s strength in playmaking, at least there’s a fall-back option. Just my 2cents.

For now, I’m rooting for JLin and the Hornets to go to Conference Finals! πŸ™‚
It would be a win-win scenario no matter what happens next

  • sws94

I didn’t pose this to get into the starter/bench thing again. Truly, there’s nothing good going down that familiar road here. My position on it is what it is and I’m not changing it. My comments have to do with whether or not, at the core, Lin is a big part of the Hornets production. I argue that he is an essential part of them being in the playoffs and without him they would not. That’s a core player to me. As psalm defines it, it doesn’t apply. We can have different interpretations of what core is as it applies to our definition and applications of it.

  • sws94

Yes, it is all in how we view core. But I think we both agree that in a lot of games, no Lin, no win!

That would be really nice to go to the conference finals. Definitely win-win.

  • yes, as they say Winning always have ways to solve a lot of problems!
JLin would be ecstatic to go deep in the playoff.
It will be so good for his career

  • donsmacau

To be fair, JLIN has been to the playoffs before and an argument could be made that it had little impact, empirically on his career.

It really depends on how he is used or misused or “not used at all” as to the overall determination of whether it would be good for his career.

  • I remember back to the 1-2 great games that JLin had in the HOU vs POR series when Harden disappeared. There was so little good publicity of JLin’s contribution because of the nature of HOU organization and media who only wanted to promote Harden but not Lin. It was such a bad time.

To me, it shows how important the coach and the media to praise players publicly. Their words can change the narrative of how good a player is because they got quoted a lot (i.e. JLin’s defensive praises).

I have more hopes that Clifford and the Hornets media would praise JLin’s contribution (as long as it doesn’t make Kemba uncomfortable) than McHale and Houston did before.

If JLin can help the Hornets past the 1st round, there will be more publicity for sure. It will be better for JLin’s FA than one and done for sure. The Hornets would be forced use some of JLin’s clutchness to win big in the playoff.

By definition, everyone in Hornets is a core player. Starters = Primary Core Player. Bench = Secondary Core Player.
That should make everyone here happy.
From my observation, JLin is never a so-called “core” player in Hornets org. To the Hornets, he is simply an ordinary player who can draw crowds and media attention. Otherwise, why would Cliff and company be so surprised to see JLin performing a “Linsanity” in the game against Spurs. Even after the victory against Cav, Cliff was not fully convinced it was JLin’s skills and leadership.

  • @EastCoastBatCo
Thank you @JLin7 for making his week! https://twitter.com/EastCoastBatCo/status/715684958476627969

  • donsmacau

Clifford’s first positive words that I can remember about JLIN was when he first sprained, “…I mean we miss [JLIN’s] offense…but it is his defense…the one guy who is capable of guarding primary scorers…So, to me, even though he is a very good offensive player, we really miss his defense right now.”

The entire tone, however (to me) seemed to minimize any overshadowing of the primary designated scorers/playmakers.

We can hope that in the playoffs that the opposing coach/announcers like Popovich “[JLIN] was spectacular…” or George Karl “[JLIN] was busting us so quick that the help couldn’t come” give JLIN the credit because the Hornets likely won’t. Call me biased, but I never see any black coaches compliment JLIN… whatever.

Let us hope for the best.

  • donsmacau

Had any of Clifford’s true “core” players led a 23pt comeback win over 2nd best NBA team you can bet that the reception for that HERO would have rivaled Ceasar returning triumphantly to Rome.

  • sws94

He wasn’t. He said Lin is capable of these types of performances (Spurs 28 and Nets 21) in any game. He also said Lin had a bunch of games where he played well but didn’t shoot well. So he can play well and not necessarily score as much as he did in that game.

  • your son’s legendary voltaire

spot on! clifford would throw crumbs for Lin when he scores 30 plus lead the team to victory. he’d never say Lin was spectacular, instead he’d say Lin did well defending and playing his role as in he’s a good role player but nothing more. i wouldnt put all my hopes on clifford to help boost Lin’d image in the playoffs. if Lin does well, i’m hoping guys like Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, and Kenny Smith would give him some credit

  • JAD2456

Hi, everyone, it has been quite a while since we sent our concern/complaints about those non-calls for Lin to The NBA Official. So far, I only received the similar canned email response from them like else did. I think it’s time for us to write to Adam Silver. However, since his Twitter account is unknown, I only found his official Facebook account, m.facebook.com/AdamSilverNBA.

Now someone has started writing a general letter directly address to Silver regarding this matter. I’m thinking about combining the two previous vids I made to one vid so that it will be easier for people to watch or include in their tweets. But I need your opinion/suggestions about which flagrant/hard fouls non-calls I should include. (Focus on the hard ones, not the trivial ones)
    1. I know the Kobe, Melo, Johnson fouls should be definitely included.
    2. How about the DeAndre Jodan & Aldridge ones?
    3. How about the Dieng one?
    4. The Harden one?
    5. The trivial phantom call on Lin fouled Harden? (To show how others get calls easily but Lin doesn’t )
    Any others?

    Any suggestion/support will be appreciated!

  • sport

Lin has broken Lebron’s ankles before but didn’t make the shot. It’s be awesome if he makes that during playoffs. Winning against Cavs with Linsanity would make headlines for sure!

Lin has been icing his back as seen in game photos. By now playoff birth is sealed so it’s better for him to rest and heal up before playoffs. Unless MDA and Sixers wants an audition, JLin shouldn’t play. Just glad Lin finally nailed his shot form and the season is almost over. Can’t wait to know who he signs with.

The problem is Jorge only played 12 minutes while Kemba played 37. You’d think that if they are so concern about Lin, who is a bench player, they’d be more concern about Kemba and Batum playing massive minutes. While not bring down their minutes?

  • Maknusia

true…..everything is wrong down there from analytic to coaching methodology to players attitude

  • DX

The girl, so adorable! Is she wear Lin’s jersey.

  • yes, and after watching Pop explains the Spurs philosophy of “characters”, it does makes sense how they can be a dynasty.

All this drama and ego in the Lakers, Rockets are such distractions from achieving the team goal

  • sport

What can we say, would comes around goes around. It’s Karma, Clifford and Kemba will get there’s eventually once Lin leaves. Words are cheap and deep down Kemba doesn’t want Lin to out shine him. If not he would’ve asked for Lin to start and not purposely pass to the opposite side when Lin’s on court with him.

  • This little girl will win the cutest JLin fan of the year easily πŸ™‚

Except that only works if Lin’s the starting PG allowed to run his offense. Many times the team doesn’t want Lin’s help including Hornets; they’ve tried so many times to win without Lin and still are. On selfish teams, Lin’s stats suffer a lot and has been for past 5 seasons.

wa wa wa … you really know how to spoil my imagined … you know, winning Lin. Oh well, next year.

    That was incredible to hear

  • JoeTeam

I hope Jazz and Dallas knock them out. It would be a nice thing for a fan of team bball to see that system be discredited. But then again, you always need also-rans, so forget what I said.

JLIN play 31:17 min, got 29 points (NOT 28 points) with 11-18 FGM, 4-4 3PM, 3-3 FTM, 7R, 2A, & 1 ST; he scoring 15 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to help Charlotte rally for a 91-88 victory, snapping the Spurs’ six-game winning streak, helped Hornets picked up an important win after an 11-game losing streak to the Spurs; then first thing Clifford said after the game is “I told them please try harder” with a laugh. I know he is kidding, but why just praise JLIN like opponent coach Gregg Popovich did “He was spectacular”, “We couldn’t stop him all night. He had a great night. He was wonderful”. When Clifford praising KW or NB always so loud & direct hit the home run. I hope he can treating LIN the same way!

  • John Focker

but most of the time , to be understood by those who use NBA terms and knowledgeable basketball enthust, we need to follow some general interpretation of such language. CORE means the central moving power of the players and thus they are center of all..not all players are centers of a team that’s why, you call them CORE!

i do understand what you mean but insisting on each and everyone’s definition might create MIS UNDERSTANDINGs because of one insistence of his own!

  • HVJoy

“Inquiring minds want to know.” Do tell please, Briiick.

by this time we all know who hornets are clinging onto and catering players..so its better not to waste energy waiting for them to change , just like cliff’s putting more effort shouting to the whole NBA that his FAV players are GREAT and ROLE PLAYERS remains a ROLE PLAYER!

  • Lefon Jang

There’re two things that have gone missing in Jeremy Lin’s shooting: his signature hop and his dip (lower his hand below the waist before bringing the ball up to shoot). Both of these are important to be a good shooter. In order to have a quicker release Doc Scheppler has shortened his dip and it has thrown his rhythm off. During the Spurs game I saw a glimpse of Lin’s old shooting form, his old dipping motion. Here’s a video of Ray Allen’s shooting form which is very similar to Lin’s old form. Because of Steph Curry, people have forgotten how great a shooter Ray Allen is.

    Clifford Hornets Practice 3-31-2016:
On Lin: He “looked a lot better. It’s his back so you have to be careful.” “Don’t want to do something that he’ll be out longer.”
On Jorge: More minutes for Jorge. He did a “good job” on the last 76rs game.
On NB: Plays at “all star” level.

despite losing, Rox catch a break since OKC won tonight. now OKC has pretty much locked up the 3rd seed, they’ll be blown out by H-town tomorrow night. Rox have a an easy schedule to finish the season. hope they still find a way to choke…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Look like Lin will not play tomorrow.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

There’s one big thing missing this season, he’s playing his natural position PG.

  • Ben Johnson

Maybe…but they may still want to finish with a better record than the Cavs, so that if they do happen to beat San Antonio AND Golden State, they would have home court against Lebron

  • steven ko

What Happened When Venture Capitalists Took Over the Golden State Warriors
After racking up a historic N.B.A. season, the team’s owners β€” most of them from Silicon Valley β€” think their management style deserves some of the credit. Are they right?

  • John Focker

The GSW traded away Ellis to let the PG in Curry take over -> championship team. The Rox and Lakers go and do the exact opposite, eject the PG talent in favor of the chucking SG to become the fabricated “superstar” -> failure.

  • Rick Johnson

Miami would have to lose for the Hornets to move to 4th. I don’t think Miami will lose to Sacramento. But then I didn’t think they would lose to the Lakers either so we’ll see.

  • KHuang

POOR article by the NY tabloids as usual.

No mention of JEREMY LIN, which was unquestionably DELIBERATE.

Lin was actually Lacob’s biggest find. Without Joe Lacob, Lin would have never made the NBA.

This is RACIST YELLOW JOURNALISM at its coiffed up worst.

  • KHuang

Actually, the signature hop and dip were Doc Scheppler’s teachings.

Doc had Lin so corkscrewed in his stance, Lin constantly bent unnaturally at the waist and knees before shooting that flat curveball that Doc taught Lin how to do.

But now that the Lakers and Charlotte shooting coaches have straightened out Lin’s shot form, Lin is finally shooting with a fluid one motion form that is very similar to the old school shooting form done by Stephen Curry.

  • donsmacau

Love that expression on Kemba’s face 1:13-1:15 as he gives the side-glance after JLIN drains one against Spurs and bench celebrates
“Jeh-lam-mee Lin that should have been me”

  • cdblue10

Best possible option for Lin next season:
    1) 76’ers
    2)Jazz
    3)Bucks
    4)Nets

  • cdblue10

It doesn’t matter what shooting form you have, you just need to practice it over and over and honed your skill. The best technique in shooting is bending your legs to have a proper balance.

  • Brent Yen

Both were there, he just does not always does it

  • HVJoy

“In the Warriors, Lacob saw a start-up disguised as an underperforming business, a sports franchise that had been run autocratically β€” and therefore ineptly β€” as the industry evolved around it.

That $450 million investment (in 2010) is now worth around $2 billion.”

It’s a long interesting article. Thank you for sharing.

  • jimmyL

sixers are still are losing team MDA not the coach
Jazz are Haywards team Hood getting touches too so not much for Lin
Bucks have so many guys Greek freak is their primary ball handler

    I’d say
Nets, Knicks, Grizzlies and Spurs maybe

  • sws94

I agree. Nets, Knicks are terrible for different reasons. Grizzlies are grind ball that Lin rejected. Spurs wouldn’t use LIn as primary PG. If that’s ok with majority of Lin fans, that’s a fantastic team but aging.

  • @rick_bonnell
The @hornets list Jeremy Lin (sore lower back) as questionable for tonight.

    https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/715927498060656640

  • jimmyL

He could start on the nets and knicks although they are horrible teams
Grizzliez are still a good team I’m sure Lin will adapt
If he goes to the spurs, its for winning and he will take a pay cut too but they are contending

  • CJSHYY

Look like he will not play tonight.

  • new 76ers game thread. 8 more regular season games to go!
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g75-phi-cha-game-thread/

Will Jeremy Lin be rested for another game to rest his back and/or to give Jorge Gutierrez some playing time to test him as the 2nd or 3rd string PG for next season?
    – He is listed as questionable this game due to sore lower back
-JLin would be much needed in the next 2 games vs Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors so it’s possible that he will get some rest or minimum playing time

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray JLin would not think too much and is able to get into his shooting rhythm on the court.
    http://i0.wp.com/www.jlinportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Lin_LINE_LetsGo.jpg?resize=131%2C126

  • It’s very likely he’ll rest unless Clifford thinks he needs some warm-up time before the Cavs and Raptors games

  • that was definitely an early April Fools Day face πŸ˜€

  • It’d be nice if they included JLin as Lacob’s favorite that got away to create Linsanity

But it will steal the thunder of the narrative of Lacob’s Silicon Valley genius to manage GSW warriors, plus questioning Jerry West’s wisdom or whoever’s in charge of the time to make a basketball decision.

I understand the focus is Lacob’s ownership and Curry’s MVP performance coming together but mentioning dropping Linsanity would be nice to show the ownership is not perfect. It’s a hit and miss to rely on “basketball people”

  • sws94

Questionable most often results in playing though not always. Doubtful not playing but can be upgraded to questionable. However, teams tend to be more careful with sore backs than other types of injuries.

  • Lefon Jang

Lin still has a two-motion shooting form. The single motion really is for players that are less athletic and doesn’t jump as high. You see a lot of that shooting form in the WNBA and when people try to hoist up a shot from half court. Lin’s shooting form is nowhere close to Curry and he shouldn’t be.

  • Lefon Jang

Yes, the dip was quite noticeable in the Spurs game I thought.

  • Briiick

I don’t mind sharing the credit though, LOL.
