G73 LAL @PHI Game Thread

Lin is ruled out to play due to respiratory issues but we know this is a “Must-Tank” game.

Having less than 100% Lin would still jeopardize the Must-Lose game by winning close like he did against 76ers in LA

Let’s hope Jeremy have plenty of rest and ready to finish the last 10 games strong!

Guess JLin's stats in Game 74 vs NOP
What Should Be the new NickName to usher in a new era of LINSANITY?
  • 1mtoldman

    i said i wouldn’t do this again.

  • bolero

    1st?

  • bolero

everybody is away coz JLin not playing. lol

  • maybe we should do a count of how many people are actually here LOL

  • John Lee

Everyone’s so depressed that Jeremy’s sick no one even wants first?

  • I see you’re on your game and was not caught off-guard
    Very Lin-like!

  • joyce ward

This is not Lin related, but this guy is smart, brilliant and funny;)

    https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/582514737579163648

  • I’m actually relieved Lin won’t play in this game.
The poor guy didn’t look good at all in the bus.

It’s only going to hurt his stats if he plays

  • John Lee

Me too, health is Jeremy most valuable asset. Just look at all those PGs that went down.

  • joyce ward

I am with you. He said he felt better, but mentally drained from his sinuses.

  • Such a nice pic of Lin, Randle and Clarkson .. Almost like a JCPenney Collection ads

    https://twitter.com/Lakers/status/582555551646793728

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL I wasn’t available when this thread showed up:-)

  • I remember how sinus issues can give such a head cold that I can’t function normally.

Not sure how he managed to do it for 1-2 games and still play well. Quite amazing, really!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Was here but very sluggish:-)

  • 1mtoldman

    u or disqus?

  • 1mtoldman

the sequence was this: on the last thread i just posted the question are you going to not have a game thread 2nite because no lin or you just waiting to catch everyone off guard. then like as asoon as i post that you post the new thread opening….so…i went here and no one here yet.

but this time i will retire. 4 firsts is enuf for anyone.

    next time bolero can win.

    theres no prize anyway. smh.

  • joyce ward
  • CJSHYY

So who will win tonight? LOL!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Believe sinustisis turns into upper respiratory infection. The URI is much much much worse than sinustisis. Sinus feels awful by itself but URI is a few times worse than sinus. That’s my experiences from suffering of these two since I studied in US (over 25 yrs ago).

  • 1mtoldman

he looked like hes been “mostly dead all day”.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Me:-)

  • 1mtoldman

ive spent a large portion of my life in misery with chronic sinus infections. as lin said planes tend to arrgravate it; for me it just meant: never breathing cold damp air.

required adjustments to my living situation.

  • 1mtoldman

    probably empathetically absorbing lins affliction.

    linusitis.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL It’s going to be very ugly game. Well will check the result probably 2-3 hours later:-) No way I’m going to watch the game:-)

  • 1mtoldman

jason richardson? now thats a name i haven’t heard in a long long time.

  • 1mtoldman

this is us/this is jc penneys

  • CJSHYY

I know… I guess not many fans will show up for the game bc it’s not worthy the money & time. I read one of the fan was in Nets game, he fell to sleep…LOL!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Suffered both for more than half of my life. Much better now. At least it was down to 1-2 times per year. In the beginning I was sick for months, it didn’t totally go away. So glad that I left North Texas:-)

  • joyce ward

It’s funny a of new lin are bummed on twitter, him not playing tonight, even some 76ers fans seemed disappointed.LOL

  • John Lee

Silver better do something about tanking, preferably via draft reform, or better yet penalty for tanking teams (draft annulled). This BS is really hurting the league.

  • joyce ward

So anything new on the Taiwan front about lin’s article?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL No! It is due to my own health issues:-)

  • Brent Yen

    Lol no chances for revenge?

  • joyce ward

Yeah, he can’t keep burying his head in the sand about this. This season’s tanking has been brutal.

  • CJSHYY

I totally agree. NBA should change some rule about draft & should not allow tanking in the future. smh! The ticket is not cheap but…

  • joyce ward

Yeah, I know. I am glad he getting rest. He will be ready for the next games. Lin said that he hates missing a game or taking a day off.

  • 1mtoldman

so far hes just burying his head in the sand tho.

  • I am The Jason

I’m sad and happy Lin is not playing tonight. Sad that the NBA allows what could be a snoozefest of a game to be played. Happy Lin does not have to be apart of it.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Only saw that one article. The whole article was translated now. My sense of not much of responses because most Chinese outlets have already said quite explicitly how JLin was being treated badly at Lakers. They use “tank” explicitly in their articles; talk “badly” about BS…… Lakers, BS and even KB’s reputation are quite damaged beyond repair from what I’ve read.

  • joyce ward

    Good as it should be.

  • Filler-up

Will miss one more opportunity to watch Lin play.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep I can identify with it. Only can deal with it when JLin is in the game when he plays his game. Otherwise I had a hard time to concentrate on watching:-)

  • Samuel

Because 76er fans know more about Lin than those “Laker fans”.

I visited 76ers game thread on realGM 2 weeks ago, on the first page of the game thread, a fan post “Scott please don’t bench Lin tonight” before the game, and another fan added “Linsanity might foing wild on us tonight”, they know who is the best player on the Lakers, and they got their wish, as Lin scored 29 and Lakers beat their Sixers that night.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes. From what I read, believe 99.99999% of JLin fans want JLin out of Lakers if BS and KB are still with Lakers. Stay as far away from these poison two. They will follow JLin to whichever team he signs with. Most also speculate of which team they want JLin to sign with.

  • I hope the impact on Kobe fandom in China would be big enough that he can see the drop-off based on his Lintolerable treatment. That would hit him the most in the bottom line and fame.

  • oh, URI is much worse? that’s really bad
I need to look up the symptoms if I had sinusitis or mild URI
thanks. hope it’s not Lingering too long for Jeremy

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep. NBA definitely needs to do something about it. They can’t reward to those teams that explicitly wanting to tank!!! Not only they need to stop but also punish those teams heavily. Having said that I will definitely stop watching NBA when JLin retires.

  • hehe.. only a little fun to be 1st

  • joyce ward

He is on antibiotics so him feeling better means that they are finally kicking in.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Easily distinguished the two. Sinus is only involved nose area. URI from chest up — sore throat, coughing, snort……. Very nasty and miserable disease, can feel really awful for a few days…….

  • I think the best way to enjoy this game is by watching 11min 48 seconds highlights of JLin’s 29pts/5ast/5reb on 3/23 🙂
So here it is. Enjoy! LOL

  • JLin Fan from Australia

No idea how much it will affect in China but at least KB is exposed for who he is now. His fans might still bury their head in the sand but he isn’t gaining fans and popularity.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

He still has 9 games to play:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOLOL While he’s not an “elite” pg… Even NBA notices this:-)
    https://twitter.com/NBAcom/status/582677309825519616

  • ICYMI watch Lin roared and shook his head as Davis flushed it at 4:59
    Here’s a good snapshot

  • Samuel

Bev isn’t an elite anymore?? since when??? lololol

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Just feel funny when I saw the tweet. Only Morey and Rox believe it:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOL Can’t help to post it here:-)
    https://twitter.com/LakersSBN/status/582684133895204865

  • Samuel

I can’t believe those GMs / coachs voted “Mr. elite” as a top 30 PGs but not Lin, that’s really a sick joke..

  • CJSHYY

They don’t think so after Lin left Rox… They trashed him a lot last summer but they just couldn’t get anyone to come so…

  • Rick Johnson

No Calvary (Lin) to ride in and save the day this time:

    https://twitter.com/LakersReporter/status/582684400393019392

  • Samuel

and they must enyoying their 2 AARP PGs now

  • 1mtoldman

pretty much any big man can put up all star numbers against a laker front line of sacre/black/kelly/johnson: budinger, jv, brook l, and now it appears even furkan aldemar!

  • 1mtoldman

    signature move?

  • Samuel

I wonder if Ellington and Kelly will get some special bonus for their great tanking job..

  • 1mtoldman

so tthey will miss him stuck with the ancient jason terry and pablo prignioni. not exactly playoff material.

and with jones and dmo out for ? how long, the beard will have to go max westbrook from here on out.

  • 1mtoldman

    funny.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

WOW! That bad with no JLin.

  • 1mtoldman

the silly thing is its all a matter of preception; bev is no worse this year than last. probably better before the asg. its just there is no need for an abl now.

  • 1mtoldman

i think they’ll both be rewarded by being waived.

  • Samuel

ESPN ranks Lin as the 14th best PG as for tonight, yet Lin isn’t even a top 30 in those GM / coachs eye, Lin has been FAR better than Bev this year, even on defense end..

    https://twitter.com/LakersNation/status/582685740020015104

  • Samuel

Kelly is under contract for one more year, and I think Lakers will bring Ellington back at a cheaper price teg

  • Samuel

disagreed, Canaan’s passing skill is just as bad as you can see from a PG..

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Grace Nsns

Phil already tried really hard by not making FTs, SMH not easy to win the tanking game.

  • Samuel

The very first post on 76ers game thread:

“No explanation is needed as to why we need to do everything in our power to lose this game. Sadly, I think we win unless Linsanity goes off on us again and we have a terrible night shooting the ball.”

    and the second post:

“Linsanity didn’t play in there last game with an “illness” and they have been “resting” 1-2 of there bigs every night for some reason.”

don’t you just love those Sixer fans? when it comes to the Lakers, they only care about Lin, they know who is Lakers BEST player.

  • 1mtoldman

apparently ed davis is suffering from symptoms related to tanking.

and after his big nite last nite hill prefers to just watch. accumulating 3 fouls in 3 minutes so he can head back to the bench.

its a real statement when arguably your strongest performer on the floor is the usual cult figure comic releif called sacre.

  • 1mtoldman

requires constant attention. and its all in the details.

  • Winner

yep. everyone knows except BS and KB.

  • Samuel

another Sixer fan added “Gonna need Lin to run of the tunnel like Reed to save us tonight lol”

  • 1mtoldman

lakers can dump kellys chump change salary to create more cap space and unless ellington and price are a bs package its hard to imagine a need for him; he’s shown thru his shooting post asg hes not of any use. i dont think they can pay ellington much less within the rules. they’re only paying him a little over veteran minimum now.

  • Winner

    lol.

  • LOL Mission 25% Accomplished!

  • joyce ward

Does anybody know if lin is sitting on the bench?

  • I don’t see him on the bench.
Here is a snapshot .. I’m not sure why I have it on LOL

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Probably in the hotel talking with mom.

  • Rick Johnson

Hmmm. Wonder what those guys are planning together?

  • apparently Lakers just took the 1st lead of the game, now 51-50 with 1 min left in Q2
Byron must be worried a bit now

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Philly has a lot of young talents but missing a floor general who can gel them together.

  • Rick Johnson

Should put Ryan Kelly back to the 3 if they wanted to tank. I knew he’d be better if put back at his natural position at the 4.

  • Chipdip

Sixers might be a good team to join for Jeremy What do you think?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I would put it on the short list for sure.

  • 1mtoldman

Ed Davis reiterated today that he’s not happy he didn’t play Sun vs. Nets. So far, he hasn’t played vs Sixers either–mark medina

  • CJSHYY

Anyone watched the game notice this? In around 4:00 to 3:30 min left in 1Q, TWC started to talk about ” Jeremy is not playing tonight .. his brother played against…” I think maybe Lakers is really thinking about to sign his brother too?!

  • joyce ward

    HUH??

  • 1mtoldman

Not sensing an Ed Davis appearance in tonight’s game, even though Jordan Hill picked up three fouls in four mins. Hmmmmm…–mike bresnahan

  • Samuel

I’m watching the game now but I didn’t hear that..

  • Grace Nsns

ok here comes the punishment, poor ED

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • CJSHYY

In 1Q. I checked twice it’s really talked about Lin & his brother.

  • joyce ward

Davis is not even worried. He is signed with CAA, they will get him a better deal next season.

  • joyce ward

    Who?

  • CJSHYY

TWC announcers I don’t know which one? Stu? I guess… Check the video in 1Q around 4-3:30 min left after 76 FT…

  • CJSHYY

    Maybe watch other teams game….LOL!

  • joyce ward

I don’t have access. What did they say?

  • 1mtoldman

i think as announcers noted he was disappointed because he had been the only player to play last one to play in every game.(until last game). as to your question about lin on the bench its hard to see because the basket is in the way; very hard to find players; but i dont see lin, swaggy is there.

  • IsabeliJane*17

    No Lin… BOR-RING!

  • Rick Johnson

Black with 5 fouls. Will they put Davis in and risk winning?

  • CJSHYY

Something like Jeremy is not playing tonight but did you see his brother played against Kentucky best college BB team….” So surprised to hear they talked about Lin’s brother. TWC also went to Hamilton college w Lin during ASG break?!

  • Rick Johnson

Nope Hill in of course. Why didn’t I think of that? Scott is an expert tanker.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    LOL Lakers wins?

  • CJSHYY

Don’t see Lin on the bench.

  • 1mtoldman

not after he complained about not playing yesterday. (he was the last laker to have played in every game).

  • MoominFloren

But Joe is injured, right? How to play ….

  • sws94

Byron Scott is just terrible. No Ed Davis for no reason. The guy is one of the hardest playing guys, playing all 82 is important to him and Byron couldn’t find 5 minutes for him. Now it seems he is out for spite.

  • 1mtoldman

davis according to mark medina indicated to media he was unhappy with that being at that time the only laker left playing in all games; 0 minutes last nite, now 0 minutes tonite. the reason tonite probably not “no reason” but complaining about not playing last nite.

  • 1mtoldman

ahh thats more like it 14/5 for the fourth. tank tank tank the boys are tanking.

  • 1mtoldman

no worries comfortably being outscored in the 4th. tank mode still in effect.

  • linspiredinla

I don’t see Lin when there was one close-up shot.

  • joyce ward
  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hahahaha Jordan Hill fouled out.
    18 s left. 2 FTs for 76ers.

  • Alain Gervais

why he shot so early. lol they both tanking

  • linspiredinla

    Tied 102-102

  • linspiredinla

    OT

  • CJSHYY

Why JC had to make all the FT? smh!

  • joyce ward
  • CJSHYY

JC still didn’t learn his lesson? Why he couldn’t just miss one FT then it would be end?! smh!

  • sws94

Gotta hand it to JC, he’s played well and played well in the clutch. He has great stats for tonight.

  • joyce ward

Don’t care. He played well against a bottom feeding team

  • TTNN

Kelly at C, super tank line up…

  • joyce ward

The 76ers refs are smart they are trying to give the Lakers the lead, so that the 76ers can preserve the tank.

  • sws94

I’m just giving him credit. Lin played well against the same bottom feeding team for his season high. The game going into OT isn’t what most people watching wanted to see.

  • LW

Both teams are putting on quite a ‘show’ tonight!

  • joyce ward

No, I am not a fan of Clarkson. so take that someplace esle

  • joyce ward

As a matter of fact if lin had played this game when not be in OT…

  • joyce ward

    What does that mean?

  • Dan Cohen

Wow 2 players in the laker has double doubles..
    and 3 20+ scorers

  • Chipdip

As predicted prior to the game, this will be the GREATEST TANK BATTLE since WWII. It is!
Just glad our Jeremy is not in it…

  • sws94

Me neither. I don’t like him or dislike him. But he did well tonight. If Lin played, Byron would have found a way to not have him in the clutch finishing the game and Clarkson would be playing anyway. The play of Brown kept the Lakers in the game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Stats doesn’t mean anything if the flow of game is not under control.
2 points behind and 76ers made a crucial steal from JC.

  • Chipdip

Haha, throw Kobe in the pot next season and they will win the championship … yeah!

  • joyce ward

Exactly. People getting all caught up in this game, when the real game is happening wit Andrew Wiggins (IMO ROY)

  • Dan Cohen

then it will be all player will have low singles digts and kobe will 20 20 20.

  • Dan Cohen

did that guy just missed 2 ft??!!!

  • Dan Cohen

come on I want DOUBLE OT.

  • joyce ward

This was the most sloppiest games I have ever sen, with no flow to the game whatsoever. Clarkson still proved that he is a SG

  • Chipdip

Haha… BS will correct you…BS believes Kobe will be 30,30, 30.

  • Chipdip

Oh…. you are cruel to the basketball fans… BUT, bring it on! The greatest TANK battle!

  • Solo

In 43 min of play time though.

  • Dan Cohen

    no ot

  • Chipdip

    LMAO! hahaha

  • joyce ward
  • Dan Cohen

  • sws94

  • Rick Johnson
  • Rookie75094

    The tankers win again….hahaha

  • Chipdip

The BS face … gonna be tough for the remaining games… how to lose… sit Lin, Davis,… evaluate more on Kelly, Sacre… any more ideas for the Tank Commander?

  • sws94

    That sounds about right.

  • joyce ward

Yep, he is done if he loses that pick..LOL

  • Chipdip

Can’t blame it on Lin this time… could they??

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    They won a road game!!!!!

  • sws94

I only watched the 4Q. Clarkson is an SG.

  • Rick Johnson

Tried his best. Consistently put his worst players on the court. Should have kept Kelly out of position at the 3 if he wanted to tank.

  • Chipdip

Hahaha… I am so happy they won! (for the different reason of course…) hahahaha

  • Dan Cohen

no, they will say clarky is the hero and he help us win. go clarky..
opposite is true if it’s lin. go figure.

  • Rookie75094

Bs need to dnp-cd the whole team….then hold a tryout for walk on players. ..hehe

  • Rick Johnson

The draft pick could take Clarkson’s job. He wasn’t going to let that happen.

  • Rookie75094

    No…but they will try.

  • CJSHYY

I think to Davis & Boozer will be very upset for the won bc they couldn’t play due to tanking…

  • sws94

Scott succeeded in alienating big Ed. Nice going, Byron.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The draft pick could take Ronnie Price’s job, Jabrai Brown’s job, Ellington’s job but not Jordon Clarkson’s job.

  • Chipdip

They will not be with the Lakers next season anyway… but you are right they cannot be happy.

  • cali7

Scott should be fired for this incompetence. He is incompetent at not only tanking, but also winning games.

  • joyce ward

You can forget about winning those two games against the Clippers.LOL

  • CJSHYY

Davis maybe not but I think Boozer will.

  • Rick Johnson

    His starting job.

  • LW

Winning a must-lose game is just like losing a must-win game! Disappointing!

  • Rookie75094

This night will be perfect when the rockettes lose…. done…..perfect

  • joyce ward

I think lin/davis are gone. I think Booze will be offered a minimum vet contract. I really don’t think the Lakers will make a move next year. They will continue to tank until they can sign Westbrook in 2015.

  • Grace Nsns

    PEEEERFECT!

  • Chipdip

I am so confused now anyway by the Fakers… no longer know what the F they really want to do…. but… tonight’s ending is fun for me… hahaha… so depressed about Jeremy’s situation in LA. Not any more, he WILL be gone.

  • Chipdip

Defeated by my hometown boys… yeah!

  • Linja

    BS deserves this win. HA

  • Keith

    Random.

    Love Eddie Huang show. .

  • Rookie75094

Doesn’t bother me…the tankers will just be fooling themselves until next year when Jlin is gone…then they will be smack in the face with the brutal reality

  • joyce ward

Laker fans on twitter pissed at Clarkson..LOL

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

This so telling. Boozer hasn’t mentioned win at all. LOL. I think he is mad too.

  • Samuel

so he tweeted this during the game? how is this possible?

  • joyce ward

He just tweeted it like 45 seconds ago.

  • joyce ward

The thing with Clarkson is that most teams plan to load up on lin. They don’t build their defense around him. When they start to do that then will see how the rookie fares.

  • Samuel

Clarkson had a good night but he got to play for 44 minutes, and now they are all say that he is better than Lin on LN, Lin scored 29 in 29 mintes vs the same team just one week ago..

  • Samuel

they can cheat by bench Lin in clutch time when play better teams, but vs T-Wolves and Sixers would be another stories..

  • joyce ward

The problem with Scott is he is trying to keep his job for next year by making Clarkson pad his stats so that he looked liked he developed him at he expense of other players on the team. Scott calls it evaluating talent, but trying to tank at the same time, but it didn’t work tonight. Clarkson trying to look good and the laker fans don’t care about what he did, they just want the draft picks. Now Scott is in a dilemma because 76ers secured their draft and Lakers draft pick. I have been on the NBA media sites, and they are calling the Lakers dumb. Nobody is happy about this win. Zache Lowe stated that there was a lot of ball hogging during this game. So now Scott has to loose all of the games coming up.

  • Brent Yen

Those are garbage stats for JC, he will have to earn it like lin eventually

  • JoeTeam

This one could have been lost lol…

  • CJSHYY

I agree w Lin got his 29 points bc 76 tried so hard to stop Lin but not today w JC. I don’t know what’s going on w BS w JC bc it seems like Lakers do want JC has good stats but they also want the pick?! So dumb this coach.

  • JoeTeam

Yep, and these are tanking teams, … just enjoying the non competitive fun waiting for gsws run at it. I’m not even mad at kerr lol.

  • Brent Yen
  • JoeTeam

Gonna be really hard with Lin in the game. Back to twenty mins …

  • Rick Johnson

Next year would be a great year for Lakers melt down. Lose Lin, lose Davis, lose draft pick, Kobe back, BScott back. Epic meltdown. I’ll be enjoying it from afar cheering Lin on another team more deserving.

  • linspiredinla
  • JoeTeam

This year is such a fail. Just would like to know what fo is saying tonight.

  • stam

I’m so happy that the lakers won because the Tank didn’t prevail, not even with Ed davis, lin and boozer out. BS should have put in sacre for 48 mins.

  • JoeTeam

That’s twice he’s done it. He’s not a very aware guy … how could he not know the agenda, the real game plan?

  • stam

yeah, even though I don’t like him, i have to admit that he’s definitely a scorer.

  • joyce ward

I think it is worth saying that lin/davis/boozer are not feeling scott or the lakers anymore. Usually they will come on twitter and do their little good job rookie. I have seen none of that tonight. 9 more games

  • Rick Johnson

Too bad Lakers such a crappy organization ruined by Kobe. I think JLin likes living in LA with friends family, weather, connection to Asian market, media coverage. Just unfortunate LA has to put up with it. Clippers with CP3 wouldn’t be very good either, nor would playing behind the Splash brothers. Guess not staying in California for JLin. Unless SAC.

  • JC

Lin is way more than just basketball! Glad that I followed him since Linsanity.

  • joyce ward

Because Scott just let’s him play, because he wants him to beat out lin. It backfired on him this time.

  • JoeTeam

If the vets know the site and give up pt and their stats for a key loss, but rooks go for unnecessary wins that hurt the org, they are gonna back off.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Stam, sorry I delete your post accidentally.

  • JoeTeam

yep … comedy of errors. Booz and Lin are probably laughing with Swaggy.

  • JoeTeam

Sac would be a nice drive once in awhile.

  • joyce ward

I hope that lin’s next team will give him a fair shake. Lin has made tremendous strides after ASG. The thing that gets me is that he never gets a fair shake. He knows that he has to play better and be better than anyonelse on the team. All the praises about Clarkson’s game tonight, but they failed to say that he played 40 mins for 26 points and lin played 28 mins for 29 points. That is makes me so mad because that gets lost in the translation sometimes. I am also convinced that the Lakers have lost some leverage with sponsors/shareholders when lin’s article came out. I am also convinced that is why they are being so nice to lin now, and also why kobe is laying low, because it put him in a very bad light. Kobe doesn’t have his game to counteract all of the negative implications of the article. People saying lin should be more confident in his game, but if you are player in this league that you have been pushed/pulled every game, you would lose confidence. The thing that I like about lin is that he is man enough to admit it, where other players in the league won’t, ex. Kevin Love. He is not feeling LBJ ‘black clique club” in Cleveland. I am not trying to throw Shade on LBJ, but it is what it is.KLove knows that he doesn’t fit in with them. Also the coach seems to be at odds with him also. Klove dismissed that it was not that he was not confident in his game, when LBJ stated that was the problem.

Klove is a California beach boy with his uncles and cousins being members of the Beach Boys. You have to also remember that Klove played for Minnesota most of his career, where they didn’t have a lot of black players. Lin admitted that it was up to him to learn how to fit in, whereas Klove will continue to be in denial. We only have 9 games left in the season and I think lin has proven that to most coaches/GM’s that lin is the guy that will do the heavy lifting for the team because he wants to win. So bring on FA.

  • there is a special connection between Jeremy and kids.
I think they think he’s one of them, just a bit taller :]

  • Kianainhi

Ha! Ha! It includes losses to the Clippers.

  • Brent Yen

Really hope he ends up with coaches like, Pop, Stevens, Rick, etc. Smart players need smart coach.

  • Briiick

Well said. Out of the FA PGs, I don’t think their market values are proportional to what the media have called. Actually, the demand could be inversely proportional to the size of the smoke.

  • joyce ward

i think he will end up with a team with a coach that doesn’t play to egos and they just want to win games. I gotta say that lin has definitely stepped up his game.

  • kittyhead

I kind of feel he is next MCW…pad good stats and will be traded as an asset eventually.

  • orLinaryjoe

    Love the backhanded compliment.

  • joyce ward

I think if MDA goes back to Denver, lin will come because Karl is trying to hijack lawson for sure to come play in Sac.

  • Dan Cohen

so it’s better lin never played in this game, else they will be pissed at lin

  • Kianainhi

Exactly, this is what I envision next season. Remember how JC & Randle played during pre-season like it was their show. I can see the same thing happening.

  • sport

Or someone like Erik Spolestra, another smart coach who emphasizes on passing the ball.

  • I agree that will be Lin’s #1 priority to play in team-oriented system that wants to win.
It’s quite different than Dragic and Rondo who will prioritize money first then team philosophy later.

I hope Lin will chose organizations/coach that rewards loyalty (not Houston), not worship tanking (not LA/NY) and believes in him (Spurs, Mavs, Kings, Denver, Magic ?)

  • joyce ward

No FA will come here because of the treatment of kobe/scott. No agent will have his client sign on to an organization where the F/O won’t protect him.

  • Brent Yen

Rick, Brad, and Pop ranked top 3 by me…lol

  • Rookie75094

Everyday is a meltdown day for the racist haters in cf now…. let’s see. .. Jlin is playing awesome consistently now, the wolverine is hurt and out for the season ( how ironic) and the rockettes lost again…..I am loving it..hhahaha

  • Brent Yen

He really has, but how he will deal with team politics is remain to be seen. I really think that is the key for him….Let’s start with hoping he ends up with a less toxic team.

  • Brent Yen

I would love to see a 3rd seed who exit in the 1st rd again…lol

  • joyce ward

I think he said he realizes that it is up to him to fit in. I think lin was really upset about not being in the playoffs. This is the first year that he hasn’t and lin likes to win. So I think that weighed heavily on him also.

  • joyce ward

Yep, which he was going to save those two games to try to win. LOL

  • Brent Yen

Very true. He also said he needs to be able to play with superstars. I think this will be in his summer workout. Decision makings, more efficient plays, etc.

  • stam

Great post Joyce. I would like to add that Clarkson gets to be the PG while Lin’s role is dependent on whose in the team. He is going up against everyone such as the coach singling you out and the refs with all the non-calls (offensive fouls and charges) and phantom calls (although this has subsided a bit recently). They also are not utilizing Lin correctly by allowing him to run the PNR with Ed davis which will make both of them look like all-stars. Also, it is unbelievable when they compare JC starting with Lin starting as again, he was not the PG and because Kobe needed to surpass MJ. That was also the first time he had ever played on the same team with the starters as well. Kobe was supposedly “mentoring” Lin but I suspect that he had an ulterior motive that lead to worthless advice. I know I’m missing many more obstacles that he faces but those are a few more to hopefully add value to your post.

  • joyce ward

I think so too. I think Kobe might try to shut him down in these last games, because he doesn’t want the fans to start talking about him being starting PG. I think they may let lin/davis play to get their stats and call it day for the next few games.

  • Brent Yen

Don’t worry about those, Lin is gone. Let daydream some perfect scenarios for him…lol

  • stam

yes, and please work on that floater so that he can take less contact and have a longer career.

  • joyce ward

I think that article that was posted by that ESPN reporter last year, before the beginning of the season, hit it right on the head. You saw how Jeannie Buss did her little interviews to control the damage. Then lin comes out with his article showing what a lousy teammate he is and scott being a vindictive coach, and then to put icing on the cake, D12 gave an interview to SI, that said some of the same things about Kobe. If you notice, kobe is laying low and jeannie is not trying to do damage control this time.

  • Brent Yen

For less contact, no need floater. pull up shot will do with higher %age

  • Brent Yen

Yep, at this point, no talk is the best damage control. Just let it pass…

  • joyce ward

yep, I also notice Stu’s dialogue has changed about lin.LOL

  • CJSHYY

Ya! That’s exactly what I thought & felt about Lakers to JC bc it just got the weird feeling….I think they probably want to use him to get the pick.

  • Brent Yen

The way he changes and the speed he changes it. He really lost whatever credibility he has left.

  • grover chang

Boozer is just cool. I observed him only casually before but I really like Boozer’s attitude and demeanor.

  • Rookie75094

    Me too brother!!

  • Rookie75094

Thank you Lord for keeping Jlin healthy and at the same time granting the tanker fans with a victory so they can taste victory sweetness… Amen

  • stam

    All good!

  • Kianainhi

I recall at his intro presser, he said the team can make the playoffs & I believed him. Of course, this was before BS was hired. Then doom & gloom was born.
I’m glad Lin improved on his game & that is all I can ask for this season.

  • MoominFloren

Hahahaha I can only think of KARMA
And I remember months ago, there’s an astrologist in the Chinese forum projecting…..
    1. Tankers will lose the pick (likely after tonight),
    2. Lin will have a strong performance to end the season (already despite the illness) and
    3. Lin will refuse to stay in this ugly organization (99.9999% sure after Pablo’s article)

  • grover chang

How bad will this season end for the Lakers? Pretty bad. No playoffs, No respectable 0.500 record, No tanking bad enough for a top 5 draft pick, No FA wanting to stay with the team, No ratings, No one cares about Kobe, No cap room to sign important new FA, No nothing. Miscalculations left and right.

  • linspiredinla

Which Lin article are you referring to?

  • joyce ward

    The recent one by Pablo

  • Rookie75094

Imagine … just by treating Jlin right…the tankers could have rectified all of those awful things you listed.

  • Dan Cohen
  • JoeTeam

The only move they can make now to change the next 2 years is to replace BSc. Dunno …

  • HeroBallJLIN

Shaq during #BieberRoast on @ComedyCentral: "I haven't seen a more disappointing lineup since the last Lakers game."— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) March 31, 2015

  • Brent Yen

I haven’t seen a more disappointing coach since the last December

  • JoeTeam

Have you been watching Eli Gold on The Good Wife? Ha ha, let it pass …

  • Brent Yen

    Lol….a few episode only…

  • joyce ward

    And Buy out Kobe.

  • joyce ward

Well we know that lin/davis didn’t play those two games.LOL

  • Rick Johnson

You forgot being stuck with Byron Scott.

  • joyce ward

For all of you, oh he is just a rookie trying to make his way. Now he is saying who belongs in the league.

    https://twitter.com/SerenaWinters/status/582731082585378817

  • CJSHYY

Haha! That’s what I read from some fans too… I think his ego it’s like he is next Kobe now…LOL!

  • Brent Yen

Let’s what LAL can do to you

  • HeroBallJLIN

I kinda agree with JC on this one. I think Jabari Brown belongs in the league too. Hes pretty good. Better than Ellington.

  • Brent Yen

I think the point is not if what he said is true or not….more about how he said it.

  • joyce ward

JC should have not said anything at all. He doesn’t know if he belongs in this league yet. JC has not been scouted because lin was the one they loaded up on.smh

  • joyce ward

    Yeah, very condescending like

  • HeroBallJLIN

oh I didn’t hear how he said it but just reading it, I don’t sense anything wrong with it.

  • CJSHYY

I really think they just tried to hype him up the value to get the pick.

  • HeroBallJLIN

really? hmm not really sensing that. But again I didn’t hear him say, just reading it,

  • joyce ward

    you do you!!

  • JoeTeam

Ah, yes, they can afford it … or maybe they cannot afford not to do it.

  • JoeTeam

He always says just do nothing and it will pass …

  • Keith

He criticized Hill not long ago, now this? This guy is gonna be douche bag.

  • joyce ward

They owe Kobe $30 million dollars. Give him the money and turn him out to pastor. Kobe will try to manipulate for another contract after this one.

  • joyce ward

    Yeah, he did.

  • cali7

    He is too much.

  • CJSHYY

He did? What did he say about Hill?

  • joyce ward

He tried to call Hill out on some defensive plays.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Exactly. That will keep his mouth shut and silence him for a while. This is also the best way to keep the damage to the minimum. Kobe can look for another prey if he could which I sincerely doubt it. Too bad the team had used their amnesty on Metta World Peace. This is a perfect case for amnesty.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Maybe Serena asked JC, do you think Jabari Brown belongs in NBA? And JC just responded with this response? I get it, maybe JC does not know how to be humble enough, but he’s young, he just needs to work on better delivery. He is not a very good speaker, hearing him in post game interviews.

  • MoominFloren

What a big head rookie! I never like him from the beginning, andI can say he’s on my hate list now.
Btw, anyone watched the game? Is Clarkson the one Lowe pointing at?

  • cali7

He ruined it a couple games too. Haha.

  • joyce ward

The thing that I have found with the Laker fans(mostly on the internet) they will jump on board with any player that has a good night. They will start calling him better than somebody else that has been playing the game for many years. When Lin scored his points in 28 minute, there was some praise, with a raised eye. That is why I hate the laker organization so much.,

  • joyce ward

They might be trying to negotiate a deal with him now. He has been awful silent of late.what they should do is fire Scott and kobe for sure would retire because he didn’t get what he wanted.LOL

  • CJSHYY

What? LOL! He’s bad in D as well. smh! In fact, I only watched his near full game from yesterday & today. In the past I only checked box score before Lin came in… I really think he’s a SG not PG. Some of his PG skill so raw to me. Don’t think the other team really cared he score or not… And for weird feeling…. Lakers seems to let him pad the stats on purpose to me. But I really don’t like his big ego now.

  • joyce ward

Who was not passing the ball today, because Zach Lowe mentioned it?

  • FrankW

The list is a joke, take the subjectivity away or just go with NBA stats, you have a different result.

  • linspiredinla

http://nba.udn.com/nba/story/6780/806739 Even NBATaiwan has article on JLin’s March play and his improved PER.

  • CJSHYY

JC control the ball most of the time & he did pass sometimes… but ISO as usual in late 4Q. It really made me mad it’s why he didn’t miss the FT like Hill? & needed to score in late 4Q when he sure knew coach didn’t want to win the game?! If he did so then there’s no OT & …?! When JC shoot the FT, TWC showed BS face… LOL! He’s sure not happy but couldn’t say it ….

  • HeroBallJLIN

I wouldn’t be surprised if JC is benched the next game. He played too good this game for Lakers that is.
Sacre will have to play the point.

  • joyce ward

That is why the rookies don’t need to be interviewed. They have started to pump his head before and Mitch had to hold a press conference to deflates some egos.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think they will bench him bc my friends & I all feel Lakers want him to have good stats or show case him that’s why he is free to go… I think he will be traded for pick.

  • joyce ward

I agree, I think Lin will play most of the minutes next game Lin will pad his stats. Also i think lin/davis/boozer will play because it i a home game.

  • joyce ward

    You might be right.

  • CJSHYY

Bc it’s just too much & weird feeling for him to be so free to take so many shots? If Kobe was on court then he wouldn’t allow this to happen? This is not training JC for PG more like just to make him look good for trade.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I was thinking the same thing. Lakers will try to resign JLin as back up PG and try to get a super star PG.
Lakers will try to trade JC, and see what they can get. Kobe probably does not want to work with JC, since JC is a shooter, not a real PG now.

  • Kianainhi

JC is terrible in post game interviews. I remember a post game interview, he didn’t even finish his sentences & he mumbled. Yet, media crowd around Lin after games. lol

  • joyce ward

They will probably sign Rondo, and try to keep lin and the bench in tact because they could win some games with the bench.

  • CJSHYY

Of course Kobe will not allow JC style playing no matter it’s PG or SG to be on court w him. LOL! JC is not a PG material to me.

  • HeroBallJLIN

yeah JC not the most eloquent but he’s young. He will eventually hire some people to help him speak better.

  • CJSHYY

    Even today?

  • CJSHYY

    Totally agree. smh!

  • Kianainhi

Didn’t watch today’s game nor watched any interviews. Refuse to.

  • joyce ward

I really think Scott letting Clarkson pad his stats so that he can make the all rookie team. Those are my thoughts

  • CJSHYY

I guess not bc no video or tweet… Lin really can speak very well. Harvard did train him well…LOL!

  • Kianainhi

Here’s a good one. During a pre-game interview by Trudell, JC was even trying to get a date. He said something like if there are any girls out there to go on a date, let him know. I laughed because here you have Lin who doesn’t have to advertise. lol

  • CJSHYY

Oh! I see. But LF also made it when he was in NYK….LOL!

  • Kianainhi

I didn’t get the full story on this. I read a comment about JC should let Hill know about it than telling him through the article. Maybe JC don’t dare tell Hill in person.
I recall several plays where Hill passed to Lin than to JC. lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Despite all bad things created by Byron Scott to shackle him maliciously, Lin’s game has improved and his one on one move has been dazzling this season.

At this moment, it’s fair to say that Byron Scott intended maliciously on the start to crush Jeremy from the beginning of the season. After the all star game, the truth leaked out and Jeremy began his Linsanity Prime performance. The games after ASG also disapproved the rating ESPN posted in black and white. It also exposes the truth that Jeremy is the most underrated PG in the league because of the insidious intent of his coach.

Anyway, Byron Scott would go down in NBA history for the infamous things he did. His endings would be just like the down of the Black Mamba. They shot themselves in the feet.

Jeremy definitely is not the reason that the Lakers being down this season because the trend had already started the season before. Byron Scott just made it worse with his misuses of his players.

Byron Scott’s easily the NBA coach who had caused more injuries off the game to his players than any. I suspect if there would be any other team that would make him the coach again. He was afraid of this and that’s why he told reporters that there were some players went to him and said that they would play for him. He was scared of the otherwise and tried to drum up something to improve the image of himself.

Ball don’t lie and Byron’s misdeed would eventually leak out that no more FA would ever want to play for Lakers without enormous money guarantee for their probable last stop of their career in Lakers.

Jeremy’s stats after ASG is real and recent and of course helps him in the FA market enormously. Lakers missing out on Jeremy would take a long time before they could find the PG for their rebuilding. Of course Byron Scott would mislead the team and would claim that he has found it in Jordon Clarkson. We all see the difference between the last blow out of the 76ers in comparison the recent winning in OT by 2 points. Jeremy Lin had displayed the flair and control of the flow of the game that Jordon Clarkson couldn’t. Lakers couldn’t afford to spend that much time for Jordon Clarkson to mature before their crush landing under the leadership of Byron Scott and Kobe.

Yeah, Lin should leave the Lakers because that would avoid him being used as an excuse for the destined failure in LA Laker next season with Kobe and Byron Scott running the same kind of show again. This season Byron Scott was too busy to find scapegoat for his ineptness. Next season is Karma for what he did. There is no more escape for him and Kobe to face their horrible destiny.

We’re all waiting for the good news that Jeremy will join a new team with his much improved skills and toughness through these 3 seasons of appalling misuses. The end of tunnel is approaching and Jeremy Lin begins to see the daylight that God will bestow upon him. Amen.

  • Kianainhi

BS did say he was going to have JC coming off the bench the last 10 games to see if he could lead the 2nd unit. Maybe it hinges on whether Lin plays or not.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    And the Linsanity Prime maturity.

  • Kianainhi

    Very well said.

  • joyce ward
  • linspiredinla

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/ORPM/position/1 This is the real list, with stats & rankings for RPM, DRPM, ORPM & WAR. Can see where JLin places in each category.

  • Kianainhi

Lin can break down the game. I noticed after his interviews, the TWC panel don’t say anything. They just move on.

  • Kianainhi

    Good point!

  • CJSHYY

They always asked Lin about how to improve the game or what’s wrong w the game…? Lin is more like a coach than BS.

  • Linja

    Never liked it bc KB.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

No free agent would want to be the destined scapegoat for the definite crash landing of Lakers next season.

Granted, Laker may have some draft picks and Julius Randle back next season, they are not going to be enough to make up for the downside of Kobe. Jordon Clarkson, Julius Randle and those draft picks need time to develop. They would drag the season down with them just like what is happening in Minnesota.

At the end, Father time would catch up with Kobe and he had to bow out of the season soon. No free agent would come in to be his scapegoat again; I am confident that Kobe Byrant couldn’t find anyone close to Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, and Jeremy Lin to be his scapegoat again at the dusk of his career.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I am looking forward to the love that is growing strong in those young minds.

  • CJSHYY

Then we should show this to above article’s comment section.

  • CJSHYY

Right now w Lin on court most of the time they all passed the ball to Lin. You know Boss wants him…LOL!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron has to fall back on the veterans or else there would be no mercy on the court by those Clippers. Byron’s deception could not change the opposition. Two blowouts in a roll will ensure the endings of his career in Laker. I believe that the Clippers will love to finish the Laker off for good before going into the playoff.

  • joyce ward

Scott is such a liar, even Yahoo sports doesn’t believe him LOL

    https://twitter.com/YahooSports/status/582793110670934016

  • Kwok Wai Lai

If not for the last 2 wins at the clutch by 2 points, the Laker would take over 76er as the third worst team in NBA to secure their top 5 pick for the next season. If this trend continues, I would think there is a realistic chance for the Lakers to loss their top 5 draft pick this season. Byron Scott would have to deal with this next season with less and less players willing to move to LA.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That was his ex-teammate in Missouri. That explains it all.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He’s just a kid; give him a break.

  • CJSHYY

Don’t worry BS will try his best to get the pick. But you are right if not for JC then …. LOL! BS is really like what Chinese said…啞巴吃黃蓮有苦說不出

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Reporters seem to know who is the floor general.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Poeple reap what they sow. Granted JC might make the all rookie team. I haven’t seen anything that adds to the job security of Byron Scott yet. He’s plunging at the dusk of his career as hard as he could be.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Laker has to win their home game even at the risk of losing their top five draft pick because it will affect the ticket sales next season. People might just give up on the team for good. The season ticket selling next season will then take a nose-dive.

Nobody can describe how bad the season ticket holder feel this season.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They couldn’t sign Jeremy Lin for this team next season. You wanna bet!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They probably could sign Rondo but I doubt that they could sign Jeremy.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He could ask the franchise to overpay them for their service. Basketball to him is just a business.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Teams in California: Sacramento Kings, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors.
They are all in the Pacific Divison with the addition of Phoenix Suns.

There is a realistic chance that the Kings might want to sign Jeremy next season. Currently they have Darren Collison who has a good but not spectacular season with about 35 mins per game played only a little better than his career average. I’m sure that George Karl would love to bring in more competition in the PG position next season.

Jeremy Lin is a feasible selection for the Kings. (Fancy to have Jeremy in the Division playing against Chris Paul, Steve Curry, and Eric Bledsoe.) I’m sure after seeing Jeremy playing against all of them, the Kings would want to sign Jeremy ASAP.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Pray that would happen soon but it won’t be until Scott finishes the rest of the games for this season.
I think Jeremy would do well in the home games and that would take the Laker away from their top 5 draft picks. All those tankings go for nothing. LOL.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That’s not going to happen next season. Sac would need more help in PG position but Sacramento doesn’t have too much to trade for Lawson. Sacramento Kings has had so many PGs like Isaiah Thomas. They could use Jeremy along with Darren Collision.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron Scott is going to have tough decisions to make. He couldn’t win either ways.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Boozer couldn’t care less about Byron Scott and the team anymore.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The best JC can do is to trade baskets with the opposition.

I have a hunch that the Laker won’t have the top 5 pick next season.

  • Kianainhi

I wonder if Shaq directing this to FO or to BS?

  • Kianainhi

Also, include the ESPN First Take interview with Nelly. He argued with SAS that no one wants to play with Kobe and Kobe does not make his teammates better. He said a true leader makes everyone around him better. I loved that interview.

  • Kianainhi

Lin supported D12 in interviews and always said good things about him.

  • 1mtoldman

and the third ex laker (guards) coach brian shaw was so bad his players “tanked without” him so that they could be rid of him and since then played better.

  • 1mtoldman

top 5 protected pick; not top 4. top 5; tankathon (if that quote is from them) doesn’t follow its own numbers. orlando could move to #4 and the lakers to #5; but as ive noted b4 unless boogie throws the last two games to bet on the lakers they are not going to fall to 6, probably not even then. and the difference in odds of pulling ping pong balls to top 3 pick is % wise not that significant; certainly not worth purposely losing games for.

the lakers will end up somewhere between 3 and 5 no matter what they do or dont do; try or do not in the last remaining piddling handful of games.

they will pull a draft pick who will be years away from doing anything. who may never do anything (if its the guy who went strait from h.s. to china and then sat on the bench while will bynum took his minutes as many “mock drafts” project that prospect becomes more likely).

and of course the lakers are still saddled with kobe and his contract for, well probably as long as kobe wills his body onto the court for a few games.

all this clarkson hype (granted he has been playing well given the opportunity lately) is for naught becuz kobe will never let a shooting, ball dominant guard be in the backcourt with him.

and kobe is still the face of the franchise. arguably the most known and popular player in the world. rite now even tho he hasnt done anything even in the way of self promotion much lately off court hes #3 on nba pulse.

he’s always top 3 on nba pulse no matter if he is entriely absent from any scene.

kobe is the biggest name in basketball certainly in l.a. and as long as he wants to be there no one else of any consequence will be.

look for at least two more tanking seasons from the lakers.

  • 1mtoldman

also worthy of note that collison was only healthy for 45 games this year.

  • kittyhead

Everytime when Lin played against him, I think Lin is better than him in all aspects. Now I dont want to guess which team will have interest in Lin,but pray Lin will say healthy and have great performance on both ends in the last 9 games! Also pray D’Antoni will reunite with Lin on the new team soon.

  • Spot

Tonight I dreamed about Jeremy who chosed to go to the Magic. D’Antoni was their coach. The frontcourt was vucevic Gordon and Lin and Oladipo backcourt.

I just remember he was happy, the weather was good and guess D’Antoni asked vucevic to be fast like Jeremy.

I don’t remember if my dream was in Italian or English

    Lin on toughness:

“There’s this whole thing where it’s OK to make fun of certain guys more than it is other guys,” Lin told Torre. “And Asians are very easy to make fun of. We’re the model minority. So everyone can joke about Asians: They’re nice people, respectful people; they won’t do anything.”

“People look at me, and they’ve always jumped to conclusions,” Lin said. “They don’t see toughness.”

He’s doing a disservice to Lin by following his teammates and bashing them. I think Lin gets along fine w/ his teammates, but sometimes these “fanatics” can alienate Lin with his teammates.

They bear the losing seasons hoping to get Top 5 Pick and now they might lose it to 76ers by winning 2 games against them.

Now they need to go 0-9 the rest of season :[

  • JoeTeam

I wouldn’t worry about it … I cannot imagine anyone who is a JLin teammate to be swayed by outside tweets (in terms of how they view JLin).

  • JW

I think with Nathan, it’s probably more than just saying he’s a SG. Nathan and Ido are very direct in their comments.

  • Dan Cohen

your first paragraph HITS HOME. Thank you. I know first hand.

  • Dan Cohen

    you will be surprise.

  • JoeTeam

No, I don’t think so. A tweet means nothing compared to the hours they’ve spent on the road and in the gym. Their relationship is set in stone, for what it is. Are you saying a few 142 character out of context missives measure up to this thousands of hours? Wow, I guess ppl have lost their ability to have real relationships then.

  • CJSHYY

But that’s what Nathan said. Don’t think he will need to cover up for what he said to JC… Well, it’s not matter since this season will end less than 16 days.

  • JW

I don’t think they have any problems with Lin directly. But having some random people “attacking” you on ur twitter account, you probably not gonna like it at all and may subconsciously blame Lin.

I believe Lin gets along fine with Harden and Bev. But I think some of Lin’s fans would want him to see them as enemies.

  • JoeTeam

Who cares, the world is full of subconscious blame and if I had a friend who upholds and delivers on a daily basis what Lin does, I’d be mentally aware enough to just dismiss that. The issue is between JC and Nathan, nobody else. Amplifying other weird connections without looking at the facts, which is that JLin and JC have thousands of hours together as teammates that nobody here can judge – well, that’s to say the least looking for negatives.

  • JW

But you think it’ll end? We got Melo in NY, Harden/Bev/KM, in Hou, KB/BS in LAL. Where it is, there might be someone to take that blame.

  • JoeTeam

What a beautiful thing to do, to have this kind of vid for the family to enjoy …

  • CJSHYY

    Take the blame for what?

  • JW

Well, if I was Lin, I probably would care a bit. Not that he can do much about it. Why would you think he would be happy that some of his fans are “attacking” his teammates?

Yes, this is just between JC and Nathan, but I am just expanding to the big picture with his other teammates.

  • Maknusia

    I’m kinda lost here

  • takemeback2reaganyears

BS and Kobe have already done that since the beginning of the season, alienating among teammates.

  • JoeTeam

I don’t think he cares – recall his quote that he will stick to what he can control. You are adding too many ‘cares’ in a fan place and too many what ifs. Just go to the fundamentals – JLin and JC work together on the court and that’s their relationship. I doesn’t matter a hill of beans (a la Casablanca) what JC and Nathan do in a simple on button press that is reversible. If you wish to keep amplifying that fear, that’s up to you. If you want to spread it, that’s up to you. You do what you do and it comes back to you. That’s what amplifying does …

  • Maknusia

agree…at times…we as a fans…its ok to point out facts…but bashing teammates is a no go

  • Maknusia

he was referring to lin fans

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I know but which is worse? Fans always have differences not team.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Haha! I believe as a public person they sure got lots of hate or trash tweet. That’s part of their life as a public person no matter they like it or not. No need to worry about Lin & JC. In fact, they know what’s the job on court for them. BTW, Lin & JC don’t even follow each other on tweet yet. LOL!

  • JW

OK. Maybe blame is not the word. But a lot of discussions here are about how these other players are ball hogging or not giving Lin the opportunity to excel.

While I think mostly that’s true, it’s just not helpful to Lin when fans are “attacking” his teammates directly.

  • JW

He did say that he was getting a lot of pressure from his family and friends etc in the first half of the season. So he does care because it affected him. And he finally had to put a stop to that and not think about that and just go out and play.

  • JW

I think Kobe gets a pass because at this time, KB is LAL. LAL don’t care if KB’s fans alienate anybody. You can’t put Lin in that same category yet. At least not in LAL.

  • Maknusia

Probably at that tie, he didnt realize the tanking mode that BScott has or how inept BScott in coaching..especially with rotations and timing

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Orlando Magic has a young Point Guard by the name of Peyton that they are high on for the future and I’m sure they would want to continue to develop him next year by starting him.

Dallas may be a good fit for JLin in which he could start once Rondo is let go…but Dallas would probably want him on a cheap…probably 3m-4M at best…

Lin market value is probably around 6m-8m.

Milwaukee is another interesting team…Jason Kidd likes Lin and their current starting point guard is really struggling..Michael Cater-Williams.

  • Maknusia

i think he could and have shown as well, with melo and harden. If not for the coaches and rotations, harden and lin could have been the best backcourt in nba easily top 3!

  • CJSHYY

I agree Lin’s fans should not attack his teammates bc that will not help anything on court.

  • Maknusia

    despite being sick!

  • CJSHYY

Don’t worry about it. If they don’t like what Lin’s fans said they block the fan so….LOL!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Fans will have the passion to react to what they believe. I’m not talking about fans I’m talking about the team leaders who killed team chemistry to stay united instead of special treatment, favoritism and hatred.

lakers got a rare win last time without lin playing major minutes; had to go to over time to do it and get 20 point games from both rookie guards. last time they played philly was beginning of lin hot 4 game streak b4 illness and with lin playing major minutes they blew out philly double digit win. no need for o.t.

i beleive its now 12-19 when lin plays 28 minutes or more.
8-34 when less. (this season for lakers)

so still when you get a significant sample size the old adage holds true: no lin, no win. (adjusted and up dated 19% winning percentage vs. 39% winning percentage. or still double +)

  • 1mtoldman

The NBA has its head stuck in the sand and refuses to acknowledge the futility of the lotters pick system. On paper it’s supposed to help rebuild teams but in fact it has changed into something much more sinister in reality. When it’s okay for the multi million pros to tank, little girls teams could also. Why not? It also makes sense for them to tank for a weaker opponent as well.

This is the problem with a logical perfect system is that if it ignores the human motivation, it will fail miserably. When Adam smith proposed that “an individual intends for his own security. Any work or effort is for his own personal gain first and foremost, while the invisible hand of his industry creates opportunity for others.”

The failure of communism is by this very basic human desire. Without it, the malais of the masses can degenerate down to the lowest common denominator. The nba’s lottery system is fundamentally wrong because it encourages laziness and subverts the very industry of our society.

  • Acbc

The spoils only goes to those who dare to fail.

Yes, if you follow McFarland, USA movie, that 750 school, because of their 25 years of dominating in cross country, has now been moved to Div I. They have to compete with schools 2.5x their size, winning up from 3 to 2 to now 1. Should they tank? No way, they will fight through it to get the rules changed to be fair. Unfortunately, CA is moving toward that system with their region being the first an only to kick a team upstairs regardless of size.

And you read articles that they will try to win even with a size of 750 kids. Good for them, and all human endeavor. That’s the human spirit we must keep alive! to be good stewards until it’s over.

  • Acbc

They could be another example of the “Goldmine affect”. Let’s hope that they continue to “beleive”. Like the other Goldmine spots in the world.

  • 1mtoldman

pb has performed exactly the same as last year. its just that last year there was a narrative to elevate him; this year there is not.

terry has not been doing “well”. as a replacement. hes ancient has only started 4 games since bev went out, a handle others during the season, doesn’t even play that many minutes when he does start, has only had 1 good game in the four, is in no way capable of or in shape to play starter minutes thru an addtional extended schedule of playoff run. prigniori. (equally ancient, someone on here referred to houston having good luck with their aarp guards) is getting almost as much playing time and arguably outplaying terry.

the rockets will definitely feel the loss of pb as trusted incidental auxilary to the beard. im not saying the beard wont do or hasn’t done well in pb’s absecne; im just saying he will have to up the level of one man team manship to westbrook the masked marvel level.

also: dont know how long without jones and dmo and or what they will be like when they return; and howard still barely playing.

further: pbev’s relative success in any given nites “matchup” against the opponent’s pg is just as significant a factor in rocket victories as lin’s relative minutes on the floor are in laker victories; ie.

when pbev does well the rockets winning % is about double what it is when he does not; just as lakers winning % is about double when lin get major minutes.

    .

God chose whats foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose whats weak in the world to shame the strong – 1 Cor 1:27 #countercultural— Jeremy Lin (@JLin7) March 31, 2015

  • joyce ward

My tranalstion: God sometimes takes the unexpected and turns it into the expected, and the people are confused about how that possibly could have happened.

  • Jeremy is thinking, “… is a fool” =)
    just kidding

The 1 Cor 1:18-27 passage talks about the idea of Christ being crucified to save humanity is a foolish idea for humans but God’s wisdom is wiser than human’s. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength (v.25)

Basically, it is just saying that the idea of sacrificial love is foolish to many self-serving humans but in the greater scheme, there is a great wisdom behind it.

IMO Jeremy could be thinking along the same thought that one his ways (i.e. play for the team, sacrifice individual stats for team, etc.) might seem foolish to many but there is great Godly wisdom behind it.

Look at what BS has done, I think Lin ranked much higher when in Hou

  • Yascar

I agree on the translation but I think it might be the either the “toughness” or maybe “overthinking” part he’s referring to which is often associated with his race and demeanor. Obviously, I’m guessing but the hashtag #countercultural seems to point to something about his race or culture.

  • CJSHYY

So it’s good or bad for him now?

  • CJSHYY

Do you think something to do w Kobe or what he said in his article?

  • Awesome rank but who’s Bemba?

  • John Lee

    Kemba?

  • CJSHYY

I totally agree. Kobe is the real reason why Lin had such difficult time in Lakers. BS just did all the dirty job for Kobe. It’s OK only 9 more games to go.

  • Brent Yen

    I think it is Kemba

  • Linja

  • John Lee

Adjusted for Kobe’d factor and BS factor, that 72% is more like a 92%.

  • good guess.. the “toughness” was what he objected in the Torres article
It definitely is #countercultural in the NBA to have a different brand of toughness.

I would argue the quiet-persevering toughness that Lin demonstrated to keep coming back strong despite multiple setbacks is better than the in-your-face toughness and bravado that is short-lived

  • Yascar

I think Jeremy is in a good place mentally or at least I hope so. I’m not sure if he’s commenting on Kobe or the Lakers but just the comments and narrative that are out there. Guessing of course.

  • good question .. Now inquring minds want to know which rank Ronnie Price is in the list

  • Yascar

    Totally agree.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

we will never know about Price but now we know BS is next to last as a coach.

  • Linja

This is a direct assault from Kobe and Byron. SOoooo obvious. next ? 🙂

  • CJSHYY

They didn’t have practice today so it should not have anything to do w his on court problem… Well, if it’s really response to that ESPN article that should be fine I guess.

  • I’m confident that’s the reason opposing players keep coming to him during games to ask to be Lakers .. head coach LOL

  • JoeTeam

You interpretation is the right Godly one.

I would add to that with the loss of the pick that is likely now, the ‘wise’ have been shown foolish, and the strong have been shown weak. JLin can be speaking on that too, that ‘my power is made perfect in weakness’.

It is not all that it seems, so counterculture for sure to serve, support, and go for the real wisdom and strength. That is real Asian. Not Swag like so many demand.

  • orLinaryjoe

Those who are conceited and think of themselves as wise and strong, will be revealed as foolish and weak. Close?

  • so true, in serving underprivileged kids, homeless in real-life Jeremy proves that giving (his time/resources/money) is better than receiving. In return, he receives a lot more fans and support by the day! Plus no baby-mamas headache like so many NBA players 🙂

In the day and age where people put themselves first, that is certainly countercultural.
I’m thankful to have to point to him as a good role-model to so many young people (and young-at-hearts)

  • orLinaryjoe

Those who seem foolish and weak may be revealed as the opposite.

  • JoeTeam

We need more young ppl like JLin. The internet explosion has made everyone in the Bay Area move toward serving power and money. It’s not right, that so many bright young people are heading this way.

  • JoeTeam

It’s countercuture to say that this gen is all about me, my iPhone, and my_social that I totally control.

  • TTNN

today’s Mason and Ireland show, Ireland was openly question why Lakers win this? Why Sacre is not on the floor, why JC is playing. And said honestly, Byron had tried his best with the line up, they just need to take Sacre in and take JC out. He also called out 76er’s tanking movement, and stuff. lol

Ireland also kind of saying Byron already put all the guard in, if he take JC out, whom he is going to put in? Jeremy Lin, he go 29 last game….. even worse.

And other radio show they would say JC “selfishly” win the game, and next year he is going to play with bad teammates, etc.,

ESPN LA was kind of saying Byron already put in a team tank, just he could not throw the game away. He already sit Lin

  • JoeTeam

what a gem, no matter how you interpret it.

  • tin3ytina

    Lol!

  • PPP

Uhh….you cant really blame the players who play to win. The lakers are shameless if they do.

Although i love to see them win and lose the pick. Im shameless too. Haha.

  • JoeTeam

Yep, sacre, and throw in a little tension and crazy 2 mins sit here and there to ice players and he would have had the tank. He even lost in losing, he’s so bad of a leader.

  • JoeTeam

does anyone know the latest on LAL possibility to get the pick now? I don’t really care, but really, I sort of want JLin’s sacrifice this season to go to some benefit for the good ppl in LA/LAL.

  • CJSHYY

I totally agree JC’s so selfish… In the beginning I was hoping Lakers could win bc I hate BS….LOL! But when I saw what JC was doing that really made me mad bc if he could only missed on FT shot then there was no OT & … smh!

  • TTNN

yeah, that’s getting ridiculous about the tank war now….

  • CJSHYY

I read few weeks ago, Mitch was watching a player (forgot which shcool?) on court… He played SF.

  • CT

Make sense to me now. Thanks!

JC a better player than Jabari.

Thanks @psalm234:disqus. Just watched it. Indeed it was an awesome wedding. Believe Jason and Kat are still honeymooning in US. Not sure whether they have gone to watch JLin games or not. I know he did plan to watch a couple game. Jason is now working in HK.

  • Yascar

Somebody’s tweeted the odds but can’t find it. Definitely took a huge hit when they won the Philly game.

  • webattorney

    Are they some well-known couple?

  • Rick Johnson

If he wanted to tank he should have put Kelly back at the 3. He’s much more effective at the 4 and has been more productive since moved there. That’s why he’s been terrible most of season til now he’s been playing out of position.

  • Brent Yen

Just look for mock draft on google

  • Dan Cohen

HAHAHAHA you beat me to it.. 2 hours ago… I didn’t even see your post underneath here.

  • 1mtoldman

its not that big a difference. narrative vs. reality again. a. go to “tankathon” b. look at the % differences between various places c. read the rules at the bottom for how the draft works.

  • 1mtoldman

    ill concede its possible.

  • 1mtoldman

its just the same old story/god vs. what was once referred to as “mammon”. (dont think anyone anymore knows that word).

  • 1mtoldman

its highly unlikely the lakers would fall out of the bottom five which is all they need to “get the pick”.

there is argument for them to go lower to have a higher % chance of nailing a top 3 pick; but that is just %’s, and % shift between 4 and 5 or 3 and 4 is not substansial; however the difference between 3 and 5 is somewhat significant but still not in any way determinant.

that being said: if sacramento does shut down cousins for the rest of the season and rudy gay remains out with injury, its theoretically i guess possible for lakers to fall out of bottom five but not realistically possible. they are currently 6 or 7 games “ahead” of sac. with only 9 games left.

  • JoeTeam

ah I see, so they got the tank in the bag? I was reading the % stuff and thought they preferred to get the top picks. Anyhow, I just want Lin to be able to monster when he’s in. No more bridles for Lin.

  • JoeTeam

well, I can tell you the Bay Area was once so nice to grow up in. Nowadays, dinner parties are not fun … in general.

  • I’m not sure. Maybe only well-known to their loved ones and some Lin fans on twitter

  • thanks for the update 🙂 they seem like a great couple
Hope Jason get to catch some of Lin’s good games

  • you might be right. The facial features can tell a lot although not 100%

  • Arsenium12 .

Probably an Adidas promotion. On the WSS facebook page it says (with the above picture) :

One of THE biggest names in the NBA is coming to LINCOLN HEIGHTS on SATURDAY, APRIL 11TH! Come meet in person LA Lakers’ Jeremy Lin 林書豪 starting at 3pm! More details to come… Stay tuned!

  • I guess great Disney-mind think alike lol

  • Hm, JLin could still be out again tomorrow?

    https://twitter.com/MarkG_Medina/status/583094068005081089

  • PPP

On top of my head, chances for the lakers to have a top 5 pick if they finish the season at:

    3rd worst – 94%

    4th worst – 86%
    5th worst – 55%
    1st or 2nd worst – 100%

Most lakers fans are not concerned the position of the pick,, 1st or 5th. They just want one of the top 5 rather than giving the pick to the 76ers. As such, the winning, or losing, records of the season is pretty significant between 4th and 5th worst, depends on how the ping pong balls fall.

They cant afford to catch up the Magic to improve their winning record to the 5th worst.

  • JoeTeam

ok, then I guess because they beat PHI 2x, due to JC FTs, JLin is on a very tight leash sheesh. JC, what an ironic disappointment.

  • Grace Nsns

JLin’s still questionable for tomorrow, 🙁

    Mark Medina@MarkG_Medina
    17m17 minutes ago
Lakers listed both Jeremy Lin & Carlos Boozer as questionable to play Wed. vs. New Orleans (upper respiratory infections)

  • orLinaryjoe

    Applies to many more.

  • CJSHYY

If Lin doesn’t play again tomorrow then he is DNP to help the team for tanking.

  • Yascar

Fair enough. Thanks for the info.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

CF question: “I wonder who will get more per-year money on their next free agent contracts, Lin or Patrick Beverley?”

I was like: is that a question? LOL (too bad, Clutch the racist banned me for pointing out his obvious bias towards Lin)

  • CJSHYY

Never mind about CF… he just wants to use this subject to get Lin’s fans to click for rating…

  • Filler-up

Is Beverley not a restricted free agent this year? Ie Rockets can match.

  • Filler-up

The drop from 4th to 5th is wide so Lakers better not improve pass Orlando.

  • Yascar

Doesn’t matter what they get monetarily or even how they are ranked. Every statistical measure shows that Jeremy is a much better player than Bev.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin put up real numbers vs inflated PB.

Lin can run a team if giving the ball vs inflated PB.

  • Filler-up

Why should Clarkson not play his best when given the opportunity. He is playong for. A spot too. So I don’t get people giving the rookie crap. This should not be about Lin vs Clarkson either. You want to blame someone, blame the coach for not recognising who his best players are in terms of winning games.

  • Filler-up

Exactly. Don’t click in there to help his traffic flow. Best to ignore that site altogether. No new info there.

  • CJSHYY

I know plus Lin was a bench more than half of the season so… smh!

  • thanks for posting the %
That means LAL can’t afford to fall to 5th since it’s almost 50-50 chance to get the Top 5 Pick

  • Brewkowski

Hey Spot, awhile ago you wrote about a story you had regarding Lin and Boston. Did you ever tell that story?

  • Filler-up

Not sure what this stat is implying.

  • CJSHYY

Agree. Why he needs to care about Lin? I know from HB’s article said Rox is one of the teams will go after Lin this FA but some how I got the feeling that Lin will not go back to Rox anymore. Soon we will know..

  • Filler-up

Good and fair article. The thing is if Scott had given Lin more rope he would have delivered late in games, even when he starts off crap. Minnie game during Linsanity where he had a bad 3 quarters only to hit the winning ft in the 4th. Even the Raptors famous valentines day game he was getting torched by Calderone but coach put Shump on Calderone for D and Lin came back to win it with the three. Too many examples where Lin has come back from a bad start to finish strong. Yet people still forget.

  • Grace Nsns

thought he is a restricted FA, rox has bird right over him so able to match exceeding cap.

  • Yascar

Well said. In the twists and turns of the NBA, you’ll never know how things work out. Clarkson may or may not be successful in the long run but his journey is completely different to Jeremy’s.

  • Grace Nsns

It looks like PB’s injury more severe than I thought, wish him full recovery.

    http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/28653451/pat-beverleys-agent-there-was-no-way-around-surgery

“Absolutely, a hundred percent,” Bradbury said. “Pat tore a ligament
(that connects the wrist to) his hand. I mean it’s torn. You have no mobility
in the wrist at this point, and he was still willing to strap it up and
go and see how it worked, but the reality is if you don’t have this
surgery and the ligament dies, then you’re talking about major
reconstruction at the end of the year.
“The likelihood of full range of motion or full use of the hand
decreases, and it really becomes more of a wait-and-see type approach.
At that point you obviously have to do what’s best to be able to allow
you to continuing playing the game that he loves so much.”

No, JC is a better scorer than Jabari, as in Melo is a better scorer than many of his contemporaries. Does not mean squat in terms of elevating the team. Jabari is a better team player.

probably im not familiar with “vanuatu”; the reports i saw only referred to “micronesia”. broadly as several deaths and much damage.

as kp c says its a regular occurence but rarely do you get these category 5 warnings; the straitline winds these storms produce are double anything in the states.

upwards of 200-240 k and beyond; its amazing anything survives. but usually the people just pick up the debris and start over.

we all better get used to it with the recent mass reports of “climate change” confirmations beyond even the worst predictions; this will be increasingly the circumstance of not just “the other” but “the west”.

It’s amazing that the republicans continue to deny global warming when 99% of scientist all agree that we are already in the midst of it. The one or two crackpots are well funded by oil companies and big coal. The northeast got a taste of the massiveness of weather this year with the continued dumping of snow and polar vortex. We’d even experienced lightning storms in the winter. We are destroying the planet as we speak. No matter how great a job we have, our kids will pay the price for our indifference.

  • Marie Simon

He never envisioned his days in Lakers is all about loosing games which is totally against his values. JLin & BS are not on the same boat. Let’s see how Laker’s owners will decide in the end, Kobe or Lin?? Somehow, Jean Buss has kept mum about Kobe since she paraded in ESPN initially and hopefully they realized Jeremy is about winning, loyalty, and teamwork.

  • In light of that, don’t forget when Lin cleanly stripped Curry when Curry was doing a similar move.

    https://youtu.be/-MH0uBZZ6rg?t=200

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Kobe or Lin is exactly the same question as Melo or Lin. Even at the height of Linsanity, Melo was chosen over Lin. It’s now clear that in 2012, Melo gave Dolan an ultimatum: Either Linsanity goes or I go! The Knicks choice became apparent when coach D’Antoni was replaced, even though the Knicks were heading for the playoffs. In choosing Melo over Lin, Dolan was also challenged to come up with a pretext for letting Lin go. Otherwise it would be damaging to Melo, the goods he was keeping. So Dolan claimed he was furious at Lin for re-negotiating with the Rox. Two years later, the Knicks gave Melo a 5-year contract at $25M per year.

Since the Michael Jordan phenomenon, NBA teams have realized that the big money comes from having superstars. Superstars are even more important than winning from a profit POV although ideally the two go together. Lakers also pay Kobe the max $25M per year and Kobe has another year left on his contract. So it seems clear that the Lakers will not choose Lin over Kobe. In their eyes, it’s not really an option.

  • Samuel

    LOL, haters are saying Lin su cks that he only ranks 28 out of 30 NBA “starting” PGs in that ESPN’s PG ranking from yesterday, let’s see here, Lin started only 3 out of last 50 Lakers games as “SG”, yet he made the list;
how about Clarkson da Westbrook 2.0? he started 30 out of his last 30 games as PG, but why I can’t find his name in the list?? shouldn’t every NBA starting PGs in the list?
