G72 LAL @BKN Game Thread

11 games left in the season!

Let’s hope Jeremy has overcome his sinus issues and will be ready to lead the charge against Brooklyn Nets to start and close the game strongly.

We know Byron will try to tank by resting JLin a lot in Q2 but Jeremy can continue to excel in his role whenever he’s given a chance to play on-court.

It will be interesting to watch if Jeremy will be given another 35 min to play again like he did in the TOR game.  It will provide more evidence that Lakers Front Office gave Byron Scott the order to evaluate Jeremy Lin further as a starter in the last 13 games of the season.

Let’s Go Jeremy!

Guess JLin's stats in Game 73 vs PHI
What Should Be the new NickName to usher in a new era of LINSANITY?

  • PPP

    Me? First? Lincredible, lol.

  • MoominFloren

    Haha 2nd

  • Maknusia

    3rd!

  • Chipdip

Woke up this morning still in pain but after reading all the posts about Jeremy being number 5 on PER , on Offence … as a PG since ASB… I am feeling so much better! My goodness! The Linsanity is still on!
    Go Lin Go!

  • Maknusia

i was just thinking aloud…. No Lin No Win…so both the “No” gets cancelled out = Lin Win!!!

  • Chipdip

    The secret is out! hahaha

  • Maknusia

So I’m Asian (Jeremy Lin Story) – by third lego

  • Maknusia

    shhhh!

  • webattorney

I do believe if Dragic gets the max K, he will be over-rated. And if Lin gets let’s say around $5 Mill per year, Lin will be under-rated. When you say someone is over-rated or under-rated, you have to view things from context of their CURRENT Ks. Right now, Lin is over-rated because he’s receiving $15 Mill per year. He was under-rated when he was receiving $5 Mill per year during last 2 years.

In this sense, PBev is under-rated, given his current K is around (I think) 2 Mill per year.

Harden as a max K player is not over-rated at all because he deserves the max K status. Same thing with Curry, WB, Klay etc.

This is the best way to judge whether a player is over-rated or under-rated at certain point in time.

  • webattorney

    Gotta buy lotto ticket.

  • Maknusia

    72 03 29 ….continue

  • Maknusia

@psalm234 …something wrong with the score polling…seem to be double post?!

  • livyrlife

How is Jeremy overrated while Harden isn’t?

  • webattorney

Harden being in the conversation of MVP says it all. Harden definitely the reason why Rockets have their record. No one should deny that, not even Harden’s haters. I see Lin’s true value in FA as 8+ per year. Anything lower, teams are getting a discount. Theoretically, you can make an argument that Lin is 12+ per year player given his money generating popularity.

  • Arsenium12 .

Just a small point. Beverley’s current contract is 915 K. His qualifying offer for next year is 2.7 M.

    See : http://www.basketballinsiders.com/houston-rockets-team-salary/

  • livyrlife

For his flipping to get FT would say he’s overrated. Without the refs bailinghimout, he is overrated.

  • webattorney

    PBev then is DEFINITELy under-rated.

  • Arsenium12 .
  • webattorney

I think even most of Lin’s fans would disagree with you. No question, his flipping to get FT benefits his stats, but that’s NBA game. Harden just does a better job of it. One thing that impresses me about Harden is the guy is ox strong. I think other players would have already broken down physically. I find it amazing that he can play over 40 minutes per game, almost every game; and be center of the attention and coverage and still put up the numbers he does.

  • livyrlife

At 8mil/year, Jeremy is underrated. If he’s used correctly, has a committed GM to build a team around like Moret for Harden, Jeremy deserves the Max contract. He is a more deserving max contract player than Harden as he will lead his team to the chamchampionship torpedo he has the same support as Harden’s.

  • webattorney

You are projecting many things to put a value on Lin. I am looking at how things are right now. What already has been proven. If Lin has proven like how Harden has already proven, then he would be worth the max K. When you are placing a value based on positive projections on things that have not already been proven, that’s called risk. GMs don’t like to take risks.

  • livyrlife

Sorry, I am using a cell phone so lots of typo. I mean championship title

  • webattorney

torpedo is like a title. 🙂 So good analogy. Lol

  • John Lee

The only thing Harden has proven so far are two b2b first round exits, in a team environment that’s tailor-made to his every demand, no less.

  • webattorney

Let’s see how Houston does this year. I feel many people know how valuable Harden has been to Houston. Besides, many other players get paid more money than Harden, and their team can’t even get into playoff. Besides, Rockets in the tough Western Conf. No shame in losing in 1st round in the Western Conf. esp against Blazers.

  • Maknusia

Although I agree with you…I would go with @webattorney:disqus just because i reality, GMs are going to look history and how he has performed, together with a flavor of Linsanity, given the right scenario, they know JLin could perform way better than he is now. That would make him around 8-10mil/yr

  • livyrlife

    1st round exit. Book it.

  • Maknusia

    hahaha..and I agree JH is a top 5 MVP

  • Maknusia

Likelihood, but thats not because of JH but McHale!

  • webattorney

You want to bet me money on it? I will bet you $200. Loser contributes to J Lin Foundation. But my bet is valid only if Harden doesn’t get injured and plays all games. I see Houston making it out of 1st round this year.

  • livyrlife

    More than 10million IMO.

  • webattorney

Just as I don’t understand all the hate against Lin, I don’t understand all the hate against Harden. Harden is top 5 MVP candidates hands down IMO.

  • Maknusia

As a Lin fan…I agree with you…coz we know him better and the predicament that had to go thru

  • webattorney

If I were a GM, I would be willing to offer $8+ for Lin during his FA. I might offer more taking into account his revenue generating ability and his popularity among certain markets.

  • livyrlife

That’s on Harden too given that McHalw gives Harden full trust and freedom to run the team. If Jeremy were to given the same rein, he will lead the team to champchampionship titles.

  • Maknusia

I dont hate anyone…it is what it is….in the real world…thats how things are…immaterial if its sport or working life

  • webattorney

I agree, no need to hate anyone. I even view Kobe’s value very objectively.

  • Maknusia

    I would offer 8+8+15

  • livyrlife

I dont have to donate to JLin Foundation because losing a bet.

  • Brent Yen

Do not forget the Asian discount…

  • webattorney

You can donate it to me then.

  • Maknusia

unfortunately…i like kobe but i hate his ego 🙂 He is not wise for his age…like MJ

  • livyrlife

As I have donated to his foundation. And I will continue to donate more.

  • Maknusia

*dish* *dish* on a second thought might offer 8+8+18

  • Filler-up

I’ll be shocked if Lin doesn’t get at least a $8mm offer per year. If it was a 1 year deal, I think it would exceed $10mm with a team option 2 year.

  • Chipdip

    Right! sh…. sh.. 😉

  • Maknusia

    good post!…let the opinion flow….

  • Brent Yen

    LOL….let’s wait and see

  • webattorney

    Oh, no, not the dreaded 3rd year K again. I would offer 7m 7 & 10.

  • Maknusia

    whats your opinion?

  • Maknusia

i wont be surprised it thats how things turn up to be…just bcoz..the situation he had been last 3 yrs

  • Chipdip

Possible… why not? But whatever $$$ he gets no concern to me. just would love to see him play for a team that wants him.

  • webattorney

I have a feeling a team will offer 6, 6 and 10. Something like that.

  • Maknusia

could be…just because…we all know Jeremy well…heis not for the money…he will be looking for a team that has better prospect…so may take a cut

  • Brent Yen

I think he gets 7M for 2 yrs. There is no reason to back load his contract now. I think he will get around 10 offers (give or take of course). The only way he gets more than 8m/yr is for a team to sign him to be a starter.

That been said, I do not think his worth is defined by his contract anyway. I think he will find a place where he can play with joy

  • adele

Preparing to go to the nets game at the Barclay center.my husband is a lakers fan. But im a loyal and true Lin fan forever. We live in long island new york.

  • Maknusia

Sweet!!! So we expect game recap…thanks

  • Brent Yen

Not to offend you, but I am really curious if your husband support tanking or not?

  • Brent Yen

    3000 words minimum required! lol

  • Brent Yen

FWIW, I think Lin needs to at least get 12m/yr to justify his value.

  • Rookie75094

I would offer him 15+15+15+15+15…. hehe …time to play the lottery

  • Maknusia

that would be like back to school!….she would need 300 days then!…lolz

  • orLinaryjoe

Or 100 photos,… or 10 selfie with Lin, lol.

  • Brent Yen

    LOL

  • orLinaryjoe

You two must have very interesting game discussions!

  • Brent Yen

LOL that means he sign with Lakers…

  • Maknusia

i didnt realize the game is early today!…i might be to catch it…woooo wooo

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Nice

  • 1mtoldman

should lin get 15 points tonite it would constitute only the 2nd 5 games stretch since the high 10 first linsanity days in nyk that he has averaged over 20 points a game.

the other was the 5 games featuring the two consecutive 30 points games his second season with the rockets.

  • Rookie75094

And that means kobe and bs are gone…hehe

  • FrankW

Is Lin a go, still under the weather?

  • 1mtoldman

it will have less to do with lin as commodity and how the league/players rep.’s precieve the cap money increases and possible contract breakdowns between same playing out over the next 2-3 years.

from 60 to 90 to 110 if that 3rd even happens without some break in the action.

both players and owners will be basing their valuations on how they factor in those increases affects year over year.

  • Rick Johnson

The Nets fired Byron Scott. Is this one of the games he will allow JLin to win?

  • FrankW

Lin is not after the money but rather playing on a good team where he could be the floor general and win a championship eventually.

  • Rookie75094

deron williams once again had his annual Linsanity nightmare…. hehe … poor deron.

  • FrankW

Then he should let Boozer and Hill play.

  • 1mtoldman

Jeremy Lin in town so it’s a Celebration of Chinese Culture at Barclays: player introductions in Mandarin, “special halftime performance”—nets daily

  • 1mtoldman

nets just beat cleveland. lakers couldn’t win this game with lakers using all anti-tank weapons at their disposal and trying to win.

that being said; there is little or no reason for lakers to not try to win in games against other non-tanking teams.

    there is little to no risk of them falling out of the bottom 5 which is their primary goal; it would take a bizarre stretch of occurences for them to fall anywhere other than between 3 and 5 and there is very little difference in % possiblity towards higher draws within that range;

certainly not enuf to cause a team professing to not be tanking to actively and energetically tank. (especially when playing another non-tanking team).

games lakers could be concerned about are with minny and philly. and those are probably the only games they could win anyway. so….entirely possible (should they actively need to and try to lose those) that they can lose on out and move on up.

one qualifier: the boogie man laying off a lot of money on the lakers a la “8 men out” and taking a dive in those last two games and that could cause a fall out i suppose.

but thats remote. that it would even still be enuf to cause the lakers to fall out of bottom 5;; which unless i misunderstand something is the primary goal.

  • Maknusia

    cool!

  • 1mtoldman

last 10 games or so jarret jack has been the primary if not starting pg.

tho dominant nets force is up front with johnson and the extrmemely productive lately brook lopez probably heading for big contract somewhere else next year.

if scott continues to sit his more skilled and veteran front court players as he has been and relies on the joke of (for the most part not even “big” much less nba quality) big men of sacre/black/kelly/johnson….if jv and budinger could play like allstars against them; lopez will probably put up 30+

  • sws94

I’m going to the Nets game. I’m not logged in as my usual self but as a guest. So, I’ll be devastated if he doesn’t play. I think he will, he’s been playing with the sinus condition in other games.

  • adele

    Will try. 🙂

  • sws94

I’ll be there too. Hope he does well today!

  • adele

He won’t dare to argue with me. But he is not so clear about the tanking part.

  • Maknusia

cool…we are gonna have 2 game updates!!!! Have fun…since its Cultural Night…I think Lin would play

  • TTNN

uh, good luck, I think Lin will play, he will cherish every chance that he could play, also it will be Asian heritage night, so he will play. Enjoy the game, I’d think in NY, there should be a different feeling……………… Lin will always be fan favorite.

  • adele

I’ll be disappointed too if he doesn’t play. Praying for him.

  • Maknusia

yeah and he did complete his Saturday practice…so should be good to go

  • Maknusia

Doubt it…because both of them under the weather as well…unless BScott really wants to win this game

  • TTNN

I honestly think there is some league interference to Lin’s situation in Lakers. As the way the Lakers treat Lin is outrageous. I think in Rockets, one could still argue that Beverley fits better with Harden, but Lakers, even after Kobe is down, Lin is obviously better than any guard in the team, yet still don’t get playing time. That’s too much, even the league could not hide the discrimination.

And every team has been using Lin for their Asian heritage night, as a way to reach out their local community and as a means to get casual fans into their game. However, by the way Lakers play Lin, it is really hard to sale tickets that way. I remember reading somewhere that they tried to sell tickets but have to cancel it since there is less response, they end up have to honer only 4-5 customer for what they promised. Whereas even when Lin was in Rockets, there will be such events going on. So, to keep this, Lakers have to play Lin to a certain degree, he has to be rotation player to have that effect.

I don’t think League will interfere a player’s status in a team, they can not ask you to play him as a star, but, when he is good enough, bury him on bench would definitely hurt the league. I’m not sure whether that’s the reason Lakers has been changing their ways to address Lin. Yet, I don’t think Byron changed anything talking about Lin.

  • bolero

Jeremy Lin is out for today's game against Brooklyn (12:30 Pacific tip) with an upper respiratory infection.— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 29, 2015

  • bolero

    i guessed I’m not watching..

  • Maknusia

    Darn!…oh man!!!! 🙁 🙁

  • TTNN

yet I should add, Lin is the only starter change that Byron announced way before it actually happened. All other starter change pretty much announce on the game day. One got to think why he is doing that. Might be a way to help team to sell their tickets……. in advance.

  • adele

    So disappointed.

  • Maknusia

I’m still hoping its not true…waiting for game to start! 🙁

  • TTNN

    uh,……. okay

  • CJSHYY

Too bad, for those NY fans only want to see him that sure will be very disappointed. I am not watching.

  • Briiick

Good. Time to take a rest. No need to risk yourself.

  • Maknusia

    true…but i’m still disappointed…havent watched Lin’s game more than a week now! 🙁

  • Rookie75094

Boo!!! Oh well Jlin get to rest.

  • Maknusia

JH game had improved so much compared to last year….watching Rox now. JWall has AST…but the team is so far behind

  • adele

    Hoping also. Excitement dies down.

  • linspiredinla
  • JoeTeam

this is a bummer! for those who have tix.

  • linspiredinla

    Lin is out!

  • JoeTeam

hi Adele, so inch of you to share your pic. Happy trip to the game, and I hope you get to see Lin after the game.

  • adele

Thats the only consolation. Lin will get to rest and no risk of injury.

  • JoeTeam

news is he’s ill, and I hope you can see him after the game. Also, if you get there early, you can ask the stewards if he will come out for warmups, He’ll be more relaxed if he does, and may there’s a place at the arena for in/out autograph signing. Good luck!

  • bolero

he might still do meet and greet for the fans..

  • JoeTeam

sws … I hope you get to see him before or after the game, that he feels good and relaxed enough to use the mindshare from not playing to say hi to fans.

  • kauaiblue

Bummer.. well positive side is that ill watch walking dead…

  • Rookie75094

I think and wish the rockettes crash and burn…. hehe

  • JoeTeam

and when he does, the team will get more revs from marketing if they are active to do that sort of thing.

  • Maknusia

    lol

  • adele

Lol. That’s too many word Brent.

  • adele

But sad now that Lin’s not playing

  • Rookie75094

May be you replace watching this game by pulling up the Linsanity game 2/4/12 and watch it instead…. that is one of my all time favorite Jlin games

  • Maknusia

    It MUSTbe Brent’s fault!!!! jinx!

  • JoeTeam

Yes, but web, the fact is Harden doesn’t run as much as other guards. So he’s not really giving his all for 40 mins, and since he’s so good at getting points and FTs, coaches let him get away with it. I am personally not happy with him being in the same paragraph as Steph Curry … Steph does magical plays just for the fun of it.

  • Maknusia

oh well…on the positive note…i will get to bed early!

  • JoeTeam

and so what if it’s just another year of tanking … I take that back.

  • adele

    I think.

  • JoeTeam

Hey, don’t knock it, even Asians demand the Asian discount just look at the best Chinese restaurants that haven’t gone all decorated.

  • Rookie75094

I hope Glenn survive to next season

  • 1mtoldman

two separate post on netsdaily twitter confirming lin out and ellington in.

  • adele

Joe Team, I don’t even know if he is there.

  • TTNN
  • 1mtoldman

    due to injury/illness that is.

  • Briiick

LAL are resting their starters for the playoff.

  • JoeTeam

I am hoping not but I’m not going to bet on it. They have improved as generally at this time, Lin had to bail them out. Probably Ariza, Brewer? I have not watched the games. All they need is a little Harden iso and it’s 1 and out when others step up. This run up is not really contested … for some reason, it feels to me with GSW and ATL domination that so many more teams are tanking, so I cannot tell if HOU doing better is earned.

  • JoeTeam

not to wish ill will on a team, but just to uphold the game that is better – I wanna seem them proven wrong in their approach for kids’ sake.

  • JoeTeam

I think it’s sponsors, because league is not making any statements to support Lin. Sponsors have influences with TV too.

  • JoeTeam

then fail forward and def get a pic with Lin and your husband/you!

  • bolero

    yup TWD time..

  • JoeTeam

He should be – team on the road. Unless he’s so sick they said stay in bed. I hope so to make the game more fun for fans who came to see him.

  • Maknusia

    double lol

  • Maknusia

which is 10 yrs in future?!

  • Maknusia

he had reduced his iso, far from Lin days

  • adele

    Might be true.

  • Maknusia

Thats not true…this season…guess you didnt watch much of his game…ha?!

He his right up there in terms of distance covered

  • Brent Yen

Unlikely for Lin. THere is an Asian group coming. I think Lin might have to take part of that event…

  • JoeTeam

no I didn’t … I stand corrected. I have not kept up with Harden stats just because he doesn’t matter to me given his style of play. I don’t even have time to watch Tim Duncan lol.

  • David Kim

I feel bad for Lin fans who attend the game today.

  • joyce ward
  • JoeTeam

oh, oh … the bad guys are getting more likable ha ha.

  • CJSHYY

I think only Lin is real sick. The other two are for tank purpose.

  • Maknusia

    hahaha…

  • linspiredinla
  • Brent Yen

TWC showing Lin’s play to begin of the Access SN: Lakers. LOL it ends with a slogan, let get back to what we do best…..LOL what is that? tanking?

  • Maknusia

oh well…let him rest then…sinus can really mess your day

  • joyce ward

I think he must really must not be feeling it today.I think he was able to play he would because he knows came out to see him play.

  • joyce ward

The starters looks like trade bait line up

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

true…hope he rest and recovers quickly

  • Brent Yen

JC might really be traded somewhere in summer…

  • 1mtoldman

interesting nets twitter announced deron williams available to play tonite only after announced that lin was not available.

  • 1mtoldman

or at least by trade deadline next year.

  • kauaiblue

I really like glenn… the actor was nicely cast… hes quiet but strong character…

  • Brent Yen

LOL This is funny, let me tweet it.

  • joyce ward

I think so. He really can’t see the floor very well as PG. I really don’t know what Nash has been teaching him, because it is not showing up in his game

  • joyce ward

Mark Medina just tweeted that Lin plans to sleep in the trainers room.

  • bolero

then Lin change his mind and play anyway. lol

  • Brent Yen

TWC showing last week Top 10…so many Lin….

  • joyce ward

    What is going on?

  • Brent Yen

IDK….Lin did made some pretty plays…..lol

  • Brent Yen

Darn but Top 1 belongs to JC.

  • joyce ward

Maybe they are trying to do damage control form the article or maybe it is hitting in their pockets.LOL

  • Sophie Paris

No Lin not Worth watching…. Boo

  • joyce ward

They are just trying to keep Clarkson in the ROY race, because they know that Clarkson will not be the starting PG for the Lakers.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin has about 4 or 5 in t op ten but mostly in bottom 10. Clarkson got 1 but first place

  • CJSHYY

Haha! He is 2 and always will be a 2 no matter how many lesson he got from Nash.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Booooo.

  • Brent Yen

yep! whatever, Lin got half of it! LOL

  • joyce ward

I will take Lin’s 4 or 5 over Clarkson’s one. I also noticed they benched Davis also. LOL

  • Brent Yen

    Why you boooooing Sophie?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

At least 2 should be top especially the one no look behind pass to davis

  • CJSHYY

Smh! I really can’t remember what JC did on cout that so amazing?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

So hard to understand BS. The man lost all basic commonsense

  • Chipdip

    Even BS can’t understand BS himself… so…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Believe me they can make up 10 more if they want.

  • joyce ward

No, they are trying to tank and showcase the starters for possible trades. LOL

  • Chipdip

I can read a book instead. On the other hand, glad that Jeremy get some rest which he needs to recover from the infection.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I boooo with her not at her, NEVER.

  • Brent Yen

LOL I know, just stirring the pot…:P

  • takemeback2reaganyears

yeah that should their next move since no playoff

  • Sophie Paris

    Hahaha ;D

  • Sophie Paris

    U are bad lol

  • joyce ward

Look Laker F/O know that Lin is coming off the bench and showing better stats than some of the starters in the league. I can only imagine a lot of teams out there waiting for Lin to hit FA. If you notice how Scott is trying to save his job by saying players from other teams have come up to him after the game saying that they would love to play for the Lakers..That told me right there that Scott is loosing his footing for the job. Notice how kobe has gone silent. An other time kobe’s handlers would be in full force with the narrative that kobe is coming back. We have heard nothing from kobe.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

no lin so he needs to take it out from someone else

  • Brent Yen

BS: We hit homerun with JC, if we hit home run in FA…we will be fine….lol WTH….the only home run move for LAL is #FireBS

  • 1mtoldman

yeah yeah that old line “im laughing with you”.

  • Maknusia

Since LIn is not IN…we need to stir something…to keep things exciting 🙂

  • 1mtoldman

everyone knows brent is a bad man.

  • 1mtoldman

    more like a bunt.

  • Maknusia

    crazy guy with crazy thoughts…

  • Chipdip

FO is bad too… BS get his support from the FO.. and then there is Kobe… hope Jeremy won’t go back to the Lakers

  • Maknusia

Brent being Brent…he is the best!

  • Brent Yen

TWC kept talking about showtime era..kind of annoying. Even Lin would not kept talking about Linsanity.

  • Maknusia

whats else is there…other than past glory…sigh!

  • joyce ward

Scott trying to keep his job. We all know if they sign Rondo, it ;s a wrap for Clarkson.LOL

  • 1mtoldman

glory days/they can pass you by/

  • takemeback2reaganyears

They need to fill in airtime.

  • 1mtoldman

when lin plays more than 28 minutes lakers win % is 40%.

when lin plays less than 28 minutes lakers win % is 17%

  • Maknusia

    11 more games…cant wait!

  • Maknusia

wow…thats a huge contrast!…this need to be tweeted

  • 1mtoldman

    12-18
    7-34

i doubled checked it. but someone else could triple check it.

  • Brent Yen

    no need…lol

  • joyce ward

They are so stupid. The only thing that would have saved this Network is they would have got behind lin. This tells me that that don’t have a smart business sense. They will try to sell Clarkson as an Asian, which won’t work because according to my Filipino friend that Clarkson’s mom is half Filipino/half white. My friend has a son son who plays bball and is huge Lin fan. She says he identifies with lin more than Clarkson. In America your race is identified as the US sees You. Clarkson is identified as black in America. I hope I didn’t step on any toes, but just trying to bring clarity of what is considered who is black in America.

  • linspiredinla

    just did!

  • Maknusia

    Great!!!! thanks…Linspiredinla rules!!!

  • bolero

    picking on Brent now. lol

  • 1mtoldman

it would be consistent with the same results for last season; using 29 minutes instead of 28 cause he got a couple minutes more on ave. with rockets:

when lin was over 29 minutes rockets winning % equal to spurs for 1st place in the west

when lin was under rockets winning % would put them fighting with dallas for last playoff spot.

lakers are actually smarter than rockets i guess; cause playing lin more for rockets would have theoretically improved they chances of title.

lakers refusing to play lin more seems essential in avoiding risking their chances for bottom 5.

  • Maknusia

    Los Angeles Lakers @Lakers · 3m 3 minutes ago

Jordan Hill will be available for the Lakers today. Carlos Boozer is still out.

    Los Angeles Lakers @Lakers · 4m 4 minutes ago

Wayne Ellington will start in place of Jeremy Lin (Upper Respiratory Infection) today in Brooklyn.

  • CJSHYY

Bc they have nothing can talk about it. Lol! Feel bad for these Lakers fans!

  • Maknusia

I dont think anyone could pick on him…right @brentyen:disqus

  • 1mtoldman

and ed davis sits …well just because.

  • Maknusia

    tanking tank!

  • Maknusia

Hope Lin will be up to it for 76ers game

  • Brent Yen

  • Maknusia

lol…so Tarik Black is the talk..stu

  • 1mtoldman

    ikr

  • TTNN

on radio, Michael Thompson was asked how he will feel that play in some games and then sit out for couple of games like Carlos and Hill and Ed were facing? He said, it is really tough, he would hate it, it is different if he was rookie and young, not playing is expected, but as veterans, play some days and sit out, it is really hard as he will lost his rhythm, it will mess up with his conditioning, it is especially harder for vet than young guys as the young guys could just get up and play, but vet is harder.

Anyway, interesting to know. That stealth tank, on messing up good players, and yet still play them.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Thank you. I got attacked and hate because they said i didn’t approve Clarkson as Asian. I told them I have no right to approve or disapprove anyone back ground, it’s the individual right about his/her own race or culture. Barrack Obama called himself black so we have to recognize that he’s black.

  • Brent Yen

    JC stat padding game begins…

  • Maknusia

    thats rude!

  • Dan Cohen

is lin playing? I thought he is starting?

  • Maknusia

    TO! at the opening…lol

  • Brent Yen

    Sick leave

  • Maknusia

    nope..sinus

  • Maknusia

    tank leave?

  • Dan Cohen

oh..and when I get to see it on clear YES network.. anyways.

  • Maknusia

    another TOV

  • Brent Yen

    or just leave

  • takemeback2reaganyears

This will be a long day for LA.

  • Maknusia

I predict Lopez is gonna beast!

  • Maknusia

    or just tank

  • TTNN

    oh, brother, it is ugly……

  • Maknusia

    3 TOV is 3 min

  • 1mtoldman

hmm i already predicted that way down the line. bandwaggoner.

  • 1mtoldman

sleeping in the trainers room they say. sinus trouble worse.

  • bolero

    tankinitis

  • Maknusia

    Dwilliams has quick release

  • Brent Yen

He has very nice shooting form

  • Dan Cohen

    ouch

  • Maknusia

and DW…seems LAL forgot what is defense..lol

  • Dan Cohen

watch dwill might go off..he doesn’t want another person of asian descent AND rookie to beat him… difference is JC is drafted.

  • 1mtoldman

    when did they ever remember

  • Maknusia

    yup..

  • Maknusia

    its so depressing…

  • Samuel

difference is Lin plays D but not Clarkson

  • CJSHYY

What? only 1/4 for JC as Filipino? Wow! I didn’t know that? I thought his mom is Filipino.

  • Samuel

Dwill took it personal on Clarkson or what? never took another shot after Clarkson sat..

  • Winner

    he just cooking the rookie.

  • Brent Yen

Most ppl bake the c(r)ookie anyway….

  • Winner

    LOL.

  • Brent Yen

Hill did not even try to get a rebound….so Hill-ish

  • Samuel

I think DWill is pissed because packed house today, and fans are here to see Lin but not him, yet Lin didn’t even play, so he takes it personally on the rookie..

  • Maknusia

everyone is on tanking mode…no Lin No Win

  • Dan Cohen

    hahaha good theory.

  • Maknusia

    OK…Folks…calling it a night….nite nite

  • Samuel

“PG” Clarkson has ZERO ast in last 5 qts he played..

  • Brent Yen

No matter how bad a bust Wes is, that athleticism is just crazy.

  • Samuel

he would have been a Field 2.0 in Lin’s system..

  • Winner

yeah, that was a great block by Wes.

  • CaliUSMC

    Lin is not playing today?

  • Brent Yen

Kelly knows how to make play, he just does not have a body to do it. Wes is completely opposite…

  • blubell

    What the Hill…

  • Brent Yen

    LMAO

  • Samuel

it’s hard to watch now, no ballmovement, everyone is looking for their own shots..

  • Rookie75094

Funny…without Jlin. ..both teams sucked …. shows how much Jlin affect the nba… hahaha

  • joyce ward

you guys know that lin was probably really mad he couldn’t play today. He will be ready tommorrow.

  • FrankW

An airport without the control tower.

  • Samuel

    well said..

  • stam

I think so cause he knows his knick fans came to see him today. I just hope he recovers by tomorrow.

  • 1mtoldman

wes is a great athlete just a lousy basketball player.

  • 1mtoldman

actually its surprising dwill is even playing this much today; they didn’t announce on nets twitter than he was playing until they announced lin wasnt; its possible he wouldn’t even be out there if lin was.

jarret jack has been the dominant pg for brooklyn last 10 games.

  • TTNN

I don’t think he is watching, he might sleeping in trainer’s room.

  • TTNN

yeah, I noticed Kelly has pretty good pass, and he is pretty smart too.

  • TTNN

Field is not as athletic though, and Wes is not as smart….

  • 1mtoldman

not surprising. for the season of players listed considered as pg’s playing at least 22 minutes pg only captain kirk hinrich has fewer assists per game; and everyone knows hinrich is not a point guard just playing that position some because no rose.

course everyone should know clarkson is not a point guard either; just playing that position to be abl and provide a “development” scenario cover for the tank.

  • Samuel

I think Wes is more talented, but Field is more of a team player..

  • TTNN

J Brown got a lot of play time today and even got to run as a PG. How do you guys like him? I kind of like him a little better than J Clarkson though, he play within himself, but pretty smart. I was a bit surprised to see he is not bad in handling the ball, not as athletic as JC, but not bad there. I hope he could stay and got a chance in NBA.

  • Samuel

I wonder if DWill circled his calander for this game..

  • 1mtoldman

if joyce has personal evidence she is not then i would go with that; but wikipedia and other reference posts do list her as being full fillipino. thats probably not really relevant tho,

her (joyce’s) later point is the more important one.

  • 1mtoldman

as predicted previously by at least two posters here; lopez going off on useless laker bigs with boozer, davis glued to the bench. boozer allegedly for illness, davis….uh i guess because hilly didn’t get to pway for a while so now hilly get to pway and eddie sit on da bench.

the lakers player rotations are like a kindergarten class; you play today and let johnnine play later. you play tomorrow and let eddie play now. i will throw darts at the board and see who goes in and out the window of the court next quarter.

has any team ever thrown so many different combinations out on the court so randomly over the course of a season for reasons primarily other than injury (and even some of those “injuries” dubious and possible cover for either the coach or the player depending on the moment not wanting to cooperate).

This game is not even interesting . Scott want to try to sell Clarkson as a ROY candidate for one a feather in his cap>>LOL

  • Lin logic

    No game interesting without Lin

  • Linsane

    Lin the GOAT

  • joyce ward

Lakers not playing Davis today tells me that Davis is not staying with the Lakers.LOL

  • joyce ward

My coworker said that she is half, so I will go with her.

  • CJSHYY

You think so? I guess that too bc he sure doesn’t want to pay less w maybe not that much playing time after Randle is coming back next season.

  • joyce ward

Does anybody know how many TO’s that Clarkson has?

  • joyce ward

Anyway in America if you are 1/4 lack then you are black according to the US Cenus Bureau

  • Rookie75094

    No Lin… no win
    no Lin…. no fans
    no Lin… no posts… even here…hehe

Jlin is getting bigger than even adam silver… hahaha

    Wow who are you? xD

  • Sophie Paris

No one will really notice since he’s not lin…

Wow no lin no posters for the game.LOL

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Didn’t know that the game began early in my time. Missed the whole game. Glad that I didn’t wake up to watch it as JLin was DNP-CD

  • adele

Lin was not in the game. Low batt. Will write a detailed info later. Charging my phone.

  • joyce ward

He was sick. He stayed in the trainers room and slept. Davis also did not play.

  • joyce ward

    They claimed he had 1

  • JoeTeam

    I hope so.

  • Rookie75094

    No Lin…no highlights
no Lin … no watching the nba

The nba should be aware of that horrible future if they keep treating Jlin terribly.

  • JoeTeam

how come Hill was so efficient … no Jeremy to set the play, so tanking and Hill just camped out for his outside shot?

  • TTNN

    no, he was sick.

  • linspiredinla

I asked Mark Medina for an update. Don’t know if he will.

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

OK lin fans on to the 76ers game Monday. Hope Lin is feeling better to play in that game.

  • HY C

Did BS tank perfectly? Since Lin doesn’t play, don’t even want to check the score.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thought JLin was getting better but he didn’t play even when this was Asian night. What will be the chance of JLin to play with Sixers in tomorrow game???!!!!

  • GoodDayLA

They don’t care if you watch or not. They don’t care if I watch the NBA or not.

If you cant quantify what Lin actually brings to the table in TV and ad revenues when he plays vs. does not play, then it’s just an empty comment that sounds good but lacks any punch.

Jeremy Lin’s shoes don’t even sell in the USA because NOBODY wants to buy them. Adidas represents less than 5% of the shoe market in the USA. And Nike dropped Lin because they know Lin won’t move the product.

So I’m with you, but just saying such empty comments makes us Lin fans sound a bit obtuse.

  • linspiredinla
  • linspiredinla

Guess I’ll watch Spurs game coming up.

  • linspiredinla

    See above post.

  • TTNN

Maybe they will rest him some more. 76er game is a must lose game, it will be much easier to handle if they sit him. Especially 76ers is also going to have a back to back game and will travel back tonight.

If Lin could not even play today with Asian heritage night, I double how much better he would be tomorrow…..

  • Winner
  • JoeTeam

where do you get your facts?

  • sport

    Wow someone’s rubbing Scott’s shoes O.o

  • linspiredinla

Wow, a downer, aren’t you? His shoes will sell, but they aren’t available in US. Many people have inquired about where to buy them.

  • sport

Nike didn’t even bother designing a signature shoe for JLin! While the Crazy 8 shoes released by Adidas are just plain ugly. The dragon pack shoes are best looking JLin shoes I’ve see so far. All they did was just lap some nice graphics on though which is nothing compared to the original designs, Adidas comes up with for D Rose. The only way JLin gets his own original shoe design is if he becomes an allstar on a championship caliber team.

  • Sophie Paris

    Gotta be BrookLIN

  • Sophie Paris

    Count me in 😉

  • sport

They even had a Jeremy Lin day today right? I’m sure alot of fans were disappointed but you know JLin’s really sick if he can’t play. Just hope he takes some rest to full recover before returning.

  • sport

So true, I see so much potential with Wes’ athleticism but he needs to learn how to move without the ball and get more involved. Last game, it was nice to see Lin get Wes more involved especially that sneaky play, cut to the basket by Lin with his pass.

  • sport

Under the right coach Wes Johnson can be a great player.

  • tin3ytina

Almost. But jhill took over, so almost had a chance to win

  • linspiredinla

Wow, sounds like you two have inside info regarding shoes, etc. I’d like to ask you: how long have Adidas sponsored Lin vs Rose? Is this a support forum for Lin or a site to spew negatives? Guess I’ll ask you tow: have you held Dragon shoes in your hands to know designs “lapped” on.

  • 1mtoldman

a game comments board elsewhere these two views express the two (not mutually exclusive) views of bs.

“I am a huge Lakers fan and I can’t understand how this Byron Scott fool coaches this team, he is a disgrace to the game, he can’t make up his mind who to play, pathetic, it’s all his fault for the lost season, i blame him not the players, he’s not letting them gel together, instead he’s stiring them up like stiring sugar in coffee, FIRE HIM NOW…”.

“Byron Scott is probably one of the worst coaches, but he’s also the greatest tanking artist I’ve seen after watching more than 30 years of NBA.”

  • linspiredinla

Seriously, I can’t stand this blog site sometimes!!

  • 1mtoldman

in any event you are r going to have to buy a new lin shirt next year of some sort.

will u burn the laker one? (as some sort of ritual exorcism of evil spirits)

  • PPP

BS threw his players under the bus, again, while did a wonderful tanking job. Pathetic.,

  • 1mtoldman

to be fair the players on the floor played (the 3 best players imo; lin (sick), boozer (allegedly sick) davis (just because) dnp.

but the 8 on the floor played absolutely as well as they can play. go look at a box score. i guarntee you will never see another game when those 8 guys individually play that well, put up those kind of numbers and they still lost.

its the old old story; no lin, no win–which (this season, at least absolutley once kobe went down) is the whole purpose of the season, admitted or otherwise.

  • linspiredinla
  • lleepar
  • Keith

    I can’t stand you sometimes.

  • TTNN

    why?

  • Samuel

During the game today, Lakers announcer (McDonald or Stu I forgot) said “they still play hard without the best player Jeremy Lin”, at least they know who is their best player on the team, glad to hear that..

  • Winner

    exactly!

  • CJSHYY

    Really? Finally…

  • TTNN

uh, Ireland say that all the time, somehow…

  • linspiredinla

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Is it normal for not hearing any progress of KB’s condition?? What about the past two seasons?

  • blubell

Disqus or Jlinportal? Disqus is very glitchy today…

  • joyce ward

Lin fans I have a nursing background, if lin was really serious, he would be getting IV antibiotics. I think he just decided to rest tonight. I think he will play tomorrow. Also lin might have set out because he didn’t want to deal with the selfishness of the players. Also Davis sat out and that probably made his decision to sit out.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Woe is me. I got these tickets a long time ago. I was going to sell them but suddenly Lin became a starter again. With this being a must-win for the Nets I figured it could be a good game. OMG I was tortured. I got there early to watch shoot around. Kept looking for Lin. Sometimes he comes out late. As we got closer to game time I started remembering Lin’s sinuses and I went into denial. I told my GF I could check the blog but I’m afraid to verify that we’re doomed!

  • joyce ward
  • TTNN

    sorry to hear that. 🙁

  • linspiredinla

Current I think he would have played if he possibly could. He is not the type to “decide” he’ll sit. Btw, currently in medical field. He also knew there was a special event in his honor.

    ok here goes.

    often felines collapse
    open felicity’s corset

this one ok its not like qt (cutie)

and it must be real iniitals (like ikr)

but those are my best guesses and im not even close.

something to due with for the office (with ofc a condensed office?)

  • CJSHYY

He looks bad. I guess he didn’t really schedule for the interview today. The reporter just got him.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

That was such an awful game. Especially the first quarter. Non-stop turnovers and airballs and bricks. The Nets were bad too but Lin-less Lakers are unwatchable. They played the whole game without a PG and were unable to make any plays.

This is the first time I’ve seen Sacre play live. I kind of followed him instead of the ball just to see how bad he really is. He looks like they randomly took some tall, 50-year-old, bald guy from among the fans and dressed him in a Lakers uniform. He just slowly wanders around the court with an awkward gait.

I really like Jordan Hill’s personality, but he forces some ill-advised shots resulting too many airballs/TOs or bricks in the better case. Jabari Brown is a rookie, but he really looked bad on a couple of fast breaks.I guess he will improve. Ellington spent like an hour pre-game, practicing his 3’s and he shot pretty well during the game. He also has some pretty good 1 on 1 moves. The same can be said for JC. He is a good shooter just not a good PG.

  • Yascar

Bless our boy. He looks really sick. Didn’t commit to playing tomorrow.

  • Chipdip

… very sick… need tons of rest… get well soon Jeremy!

  • Keith

Man, base on this clip, look like he is not gonna play tomorrow too. Hope he is able to come back and play those home games.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

JLin did look and sound sick:-( Get well soon JLin!

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • stam

Yeah i hope he doesn’t play if he’s still sick, otherwise he can get hurt…

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

What they said it’s not really from FO… I want Lakers to offer Lin contract then Lin turn it down. LOL!

  • CJSHYY

It’s really bad but do they still have the Chinese celebration today?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    LOL

  • tin3ytina

My goodness.. He looks super sick. He should rest tomorrow too

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yes. There were people wearing T-shirts that said Ni hao Brooklyn! The players were introduced in Mandarin. There were performers before the game and at half time from a local Chinese cultural club. They played traditional Chinese instruments and danced. Even the “Brooklynettes” performed a Chinese dance. And the national anthem was sung by a Chinese singer.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Why is Lin so sick? It’s because the insidious coach played him 35 minutes, the season high, while he was sick. Now Jeremy is really sick. Plus Brooklyn is the kind of team that can use a player like Jeremy. First they don’t have any draft choice. The only hope they have is to sign a FA. If they trade Deron Williams and sign Jeremy Lin, I think they might go under the cap.

  • Dan Cohen

    ouch

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Mr Booze wasn’t very nice to JLin:-(

  • Dan Cohen

more like he has nothing else better to say.. you obviously won’t think he will say “no we did compete”.”That’s why he thinks”, “I beg to differ”, “He doesn’t know jack”.

Plus he is a rookie..so he has no leverage like the stars.

but at times I thought he was being sarcastic there maybe.

  • CJSHYY

Can’t agree more w these two comments. If not for BS then Lakers will make it to playoff or near that level now. smh!

  • GoodDayLA

oddly it looks good. Much better than what his Laker uniform looks like on him. Lin looks good in white.

  • linspiredinla

Keep our fingers crossed. Sometimes a good day & nights rest can turn things around. He may look worse than he is. Looks to be hesvily drugged with pain killers.

  • CJSHYY

Thanks. I thought Lin will come out to say something but he did look bad for his post game interview.

  • GoodDayLA

like everyone else from the internet.

  • sport

Boozer is just being funny and he obviously cares about JLin if not he wouldn’t have taken that photo. And of course we wouldn’t know how bad JLin’s condition is.

  • linspiredinla

Heavily sedated, dead to the world. Will do him good.

  • sport

Who’s on the top right? how does one sleep holding onto the macbook?

  • adele

The excitement is gone without Lin. He is not even in the bench. I saw swaggy p, andRandle Iin suit, ed davis and boozer are wearing their jersey but not playing. Boozerand Swaggy p Iis sitting next to each other. Sometimes Jordan Hill will sit next to them. I keep on hoping that Lin will be in the bench after the half time. So weird because there’s a lot of asian at Barclay center and I know that they are excited as well to see Lin. We sat beside a couple who came all the way from Taiwan and was disappointed as well. The introductions are in Mandarin and the translations are in the screen. The brooklynettes danced a chinese music during a time out and they were wearing a chinese outfit. I don’t really know if Lin was being kept to stay away from the crowd. Its not his personality to stay away from the asian crowd if he is around. Is it because the lakers doesn’t want to showcase Lin to the Nets? Because obviously the Nets really prepared all these Asian/chinese stuff and all of a sudden, lakers did not show Lin to the asian crowd? Im still hoping the Nets will be one of the teams who will be interested in him during the free agency not because its in new york, but also im hoping Lin will be the one to bring them to the championship.

  • sport

It’s not a bad thing, “don’t know what’s good until it’s gone”, let BS, NBA, and Lakers realize how important Lin is for the audience attendance and support! They can hype any player they can, such a Clarkson but dude’s not going to sell tickets nor get audience to stay to watch the game! I can’t believe some actually left right away when they realized JLin wasn’t playing.

  • GoodDayLA

I would prefer he just sit out. But he probably needs to play to cement his free agency prospects. The league view of him is still very bad.

  • MoominFloren

Tomorrow is a must lose game, right? I hope Lin will take some more rest even he is good to go.

  • sport

Again why did Lakers tank in the first place is beyond me. Not worth it to risky losing so many people during FA just for that 1 draft pick that most of the time will be a bust anyway!

  • adele

My cell phone did not help either because my battery went dead by the time we entered the barclay center. I took 2 pictures before we entered Barclay center. Im a filipina by the way. I still like Lin than Clarkson. My husband is Italian. He asked me why I don’t root for Clarkson, I told him that Lin is not all about basketball. He is beyond basketball. He should be the role model of all people out there. Not just athletes. He touches our hearts. He touches lives. He is hated, he is love. Doesn’t matter, God touched him and open up a lot of minds because of him.

  • sport

Totally agree with you on this, really want to purchase that new Dragon Pack shoes but no idea when they’re released or even when we can buy them.

better luck next time. thanks for the report tho.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He certainly will draw fans away from the Knicks.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I certainly hope not. Lin is so sick and he can use some more rest.
If he plays, Byron will use him 35 minutes or more.

  • Winner

he is also on antibiotics. he needs the rest. get well soon, Jlin.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I don’t think Lin would ever come out and address the entire audience. Besides playing, he sometimes has meetings after the game with groups of Asian fans. I don’t know if one was scheduled for today and then cancelled. Perhaps not especially since the team needed to head to Philly right away for tomorrow’s BTB.

  • GoodDayLA

I would have respected LA and these other teams more if they just said we think Lin is good but he’s not the guy we want to take over for Kobe. So what we need is a guy who can fill a role and not try to be dynamic.

Both Houston and LA have screwed this up by being disingenuous with Lin fans.

I know I am in the minority, but if team commentators and front office and coaches simply said ” look we think lin is really good but we don’t have confidence he is really THAT good and basically Lin is trying to play like a star of the team but we think he is only a role player for our team.” Well then I could respect that.

But trying to lie to us and telling us Lin is just simply bad when Lin is not a bad player infuriates me. And making lies as to why Lin is bad is even more frustrating.

  • GoodDayLA

Utah is a really stupid organization. Had they had the vision to sign Lin last summer, Utah would be explosive right now in the NBA.

What a dumb team, as I feel most NBA teams are.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That 100% could be skipped. I think that is so unnecessary. Tarik Black can make lots of team in NBA.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

All my luck was used up for the Suns game. My prophecy abilities seem shot as well 🙁

  • Yascar

I’m a Filipina too and I fell exactly the same as you.

  • adele

Lin played in Toronto even if he was sick. I saw the pic with the lion dancers last night. But bottom line, at least he will not risk having an injury and he can have a break physically.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jeremy can have the rematch with Kobe if he plays for another team in NBA.

  • sws94

The Lakers look terrible live. I guess the only thing that I noticed is that Wes seemed very athletic in this game at times. Clarkson is OK, but the offense isn’t good. Hill looked OK at times. No Davis wasn’t worth my while and I left after the first half. Feel better, Jeremy and hope to see him playing tomorrow.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Very sorry for you.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Kwok Wai Lai

Ever since Dallas signed Rondo, Dallas has been falling lower and lower and finally at the 7th position in the West Conference.
Rondo has a good game tonight but they still lost to Indiana. They simply couldn’t win. Better luck next time, Mark Cuban. Your team is in big trouble because of your big head.

  • JoeTeam

    happy couple!

  • JoeTeam

yep, you play a healthy guy and you rest a sick guy. Byron!!!!!

  • JoeTeam

    that’s one wiped out boy.

  • Kianainhi

    That is Nick Young.

  • Winner

dont worry, your luck and prophecy abilities will come back one of these
    days. 🙂

  • CJSHYY

It’s Rose & her kids… Wow! They are really die hard Lin’s fans from NY. Show up every time….

  • Kianainhi

Personally, I feel Dragic stays in Miami. Westbrook stays in OKC. What are they going to do, pass the ball to Kobe? lol

  • JoeTeam

Well, opinions on the web are not facts. So, where did you find that NOBODY wants to buy Lin’s shoes?

It’s not about market share, but more if they market Lin’s shoes. I don’t see a lot of Lin shoe advs.

  • linspiredinla

Ha! Ha! Lakeshow not touching that question with a 10 ft pole.

  • CJSHYY
  • JoeTeam

mak, I just checked, Harden is NOT up there … if you go to NBA stats, Distance Traveled per 48, Harden is still very low. There it is, on the last page, approximately 35 from the bottom.

  • CJSHYY

But w today’s special event, Lin should come out say something maybe Lakers PR didn’t ask him. He did do post game interview w Asia media. Too bad.

  • linspiredinla

Sicker today than yesterday. That’s the bottom line.

  • Kianainhi

JC committed another TO from when it was 1st reported with one.

  • ViNuyork

JLin has upper respiratory infection—it’s all over here in d city…..have it too n a lot of nuyorkers coz most of those who were in my DR’s clinic last Friday have the same illness….now JLin is a real nuyorker too 🙂

  • linspiredinla

You have info on league view of Lin?

  • Sophie Paris

That’s a dead jlin… letting grow some facial hair Lol

  • yes, let me look into it
Thanks for reporting it to the Mods

  • Sophie Paris

    Corset lool.

It’s ‘of course’ hoho. I don’t even do it on purpose… ^^’ I’ll tell you another one that I couldn’t guess alone and I see it everywhere. It’s mfw for ‘my face when’ lol

  • linspiredinla

He is deathly afraid of needles. No drip, I’m afraid.

  • I would like to urge some patience to @linspiredinla:disqus so we can avoid misunderstanding and prevent personal attacks in this site

She was not very clear on her comment on why she can’t stand the blog so I would try to follow up and clarify with her. Thank you for your consideration 🙂

  • Can you help to clarify your frustration?
Is this the technical difficulty with Disqus or problem with some users?

If it’s not clear, it can create misunderstanding with others.
    Thank you

  • lleepar
  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

    Thanks! I hope so 🙂

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

It’s Ok. He needed to rest and get better. That interviewer may have caught Lin by surprise. Lin seemed slightly annoyed or impatient.

  • Sophie Paris

That was a bad move but Rondo leaves next season probably.

  • LW

The Nets needed a win and the Lakers wanted to lose! So the players pretty much have to act like they were competing. Good thing Lin didn’t have to play in this game, just feel sorry for the paying fans!

  • linspiredinla

Problems with some users. I posted in general terms. Frustrated that this is Lin site yet people kept saying negative things about his shoe lines, how no one buys them, his Adidas endorsements, etc. It does NOT justify personal attack, especially since I wasn’t addressing Keith. Someone actually agreed with me about wanting to buy Dragon shoes. This type of attack degrades your site

  • CJSHYY

Ya! That’s what I thought bc sure no interview for Lin today since he didn’t play.

  • JoeTeam

he needs a rougher look … rugby players save stubble to grind the opponents in the scrum. Lin gets enough contact lol.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Oh. You’ve been reading GoodDayLa’s posts. You’ll learn to skip over those, among others. And don’t ever visit jeremylin.net, it’s not for the squeamish 😉

  • Brent Yen

Lol, here goes the chance for lin to Knicks? Lol

  • webattorney

    I feel for you.

  • Got it. I agree that there is no tangible proof that noone wants to buy Lin’s shoes. On the contrary, so many have been waiting to buy them in the US including people here.

Sorry, it wasn’t clear what caused your frustration. I think many would agree with you regarding the shoe deals if you clarified it. It might’ve caused some misunderstanding to others who read it. I did ask Keith to refrain from personal attack for the common good.

I think as long as we express our disagreement respectfully, that’s the best way to show our positive ways on how to handle differing opinions.

  • linspiredinla

    Haha! Really Well said.

  • CJSHYY

Do you think Lin can go back?

  • webattorney

I did read somewhere that his mom is not full Filipino, whatever that means. Therefore, I am pretty sure JC is not 50% Filipino. If I didn’t know anything about JC, I would have thought he was Black/Spanish person.

  • CJSHYY

From Lin’s interview today, I don’t want him to play either bc no need to play for this lousy tanking team. Plus they will not win anyway.

  • Shoutout to @Rosebud68:disqus!
Your kids and whole family rocks! =)

  • Chipdip

I hope Lin will not play the Philly and continue to rest. He looks too sick!

  • man, I don’t want to see Lin transfer from 1 tank to another =]

  • stam

Wow i’m really surprised they said that. I would love to see that video!

  • Solo

And for a few times, Byron played Jeremy >12-15 mimutes in a stretch, without giving him a rest.

  • linspiredinla

There is still NO reason for Keith to post what he did. You are not addressing my issue, instead patronizing me. My posts of shoes are very clear. I don’t see you calling out Keith. What the heck do you mean be patient.

Scott would answer because it’s his system

  • GoodDayLA

Me: you let Kobe do it.

  • GoodDayLA

Scott: well he’s Kobe. Are you stupid or something? Jlin has proved he belongs in the NBA, but by that I mean he is about as good as Steve Blake on a bad day.

  • GoodDayLA

    Scott: Exactly

  • GoodDayLA

Me: Why dont you just say that then

  • Keith

Hope BS somehow get fired and Lin gotta stay here in Los Angeles.

  • GoodDayLA

Scott: are you stupid? I guess you are. Why do you think I dnp -cd Lin? I only play him now because I’ve been forced by management. Good riddance to Lin in the summer. Look at Houston – got rid of Lin and now a #2 seed. Why did I get stuck with this Asian nuisance.

  • GoodDayLA

other way around. Scott will stay and Lin will leave. Anyone thinking otherwise is not being real about the situation.

  • steven ko

one thing i like about JC is that is perimeter game is already quite polished for a rook so if he’s willing to work hard in other areas, his nba future should be quite bright…

  • CJSHYY

Of course that’s why he did everything coach asked him to do… no matter it’s tanking or DNP. No problem. LOL!

  • GoodDayLA

I just don’t know what Lin can do to win coaches and teams over. I dont think he can do anything more or anything else. He just needs someone to believe he is not a sham.

His string of games post all star break is clear he is no joke. but still the NBA would have you believe Lin is a scrub. And Scott would rather hitch his funeral to a Kobe who can barely walk than ride behind Lin who is showing what he can do.

And Scott instead just continues to think Lin is garbage or serviceable at best. Lin could score 60 tomorrow on Lebron and nobody would be impressed.

  • no blocking is necessary 🙂
let’s do our best to keep the peace

  • yes, I hope Jeremy will take the necessary time to be 100% healthy
He probably is too dangerous to be allowed to play in a Must-Tank game since he won it last time

  • Guest

If there’s no reason for Keith to post what he did then there’s no reason for what you did as well. He was just copy your way. When you say you can’t stand this site, you are saying you can’t stand the people here. What make up a forum, the people. Why is it ok for you to say I can’t stand this site but Keith can’t say the same thing back? It’s the same level. Instead you use the word “site” he used the word “you”. You are the one responsible to make your original post clearier. (In your later post you explain to psalm234 you have problems with some posters here, so obvious it proves your original comment indeed is addressing the people here not the “site”. In this case, if Keith made personal attack to you in his post, so are you in your original post.) you can’t blame others when you fail to do so. So take your responsibility and stop blaming others. You attacked Brent before. I don’t see the mods call you out as well. However, Brent was generous enough to not take it seriously and let it go. And last, Psalm234 was so unfair to deleted Keith’s post just because you whining about it.

  • Guest

Keith spoke up for this site against that comment and this is what psalm234 did to him. What a disappointment for Keith and some of us to see here.

  • Brent Yen

No other teams will let him to shoot those long 2s

  • 1mtoldman

my understanding was that hill was given a large contract to make him attractive to teams needing to get their payroll up to a certain point so that they didn’t have to payout extra to existing players; tho the logic of this (just as tanking) escapes me. i.e. that he would be significantly costly to be desireable to other teams in the “fair and balanced” necessary under the trade rules. (that contracts have to sort of match in some way). i realize im actually talking about 2 separate issues here but they are sort of related. i think.

  • 1mtoldman

not really. overall for the season hill still puts up the best basic statistics on the lakers. kobe doesn’t have the games and poor ed davis doesn’t have the minutes.

  • 1mtoldman

definitely # 3 but dont think it would play in ideho.

  • 1mtoldman

    no. just no.

  • 1mtoldman

if you want to be the top banana youve got to fall to the bottom of the bunch.

    exactly what knicks have done.

credit to bs for actually losing to clearly the worst team in the league.

    tank commander extraordinare.

  • 1mtoldman

rondo actually had a good game last nite; you guys are picking the wrong time to pick on the man.

probably as many points has he has scored in ages.

  • 1mtoldman

lin looks like hes been “mostly dead all day”.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It should be easy for him to start shooting 3s. He should practice 3 point shootings and that will make him more marketable. In fact, he should start shooting 3s in the rest of the games.

  • 1mtoldman

and this was actually as good as those guys you saw playing on the court can play. if you look at the boxscore and compare it to any other numbers for the season i absolutely guarantee you wont find another where each of those guys indidivudally, put up those good a numbers at the same time. and yet they still lose comfortably.

of course imo their 3 best players were on the bench. one sick, one allegedly sick, and one well….just because.

yes wes johnson is very atheltic. thats what has kept people hoping that some day he will actually be able to play basketball well. but that has not happened.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Well, if he can shoot 3s, he can help space the floor. A big man who can shoot 3 is definitely marketable.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

From what I know about BS, he will definitely play Lin 35 minutes or more.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Leave this rotten system and inept coaching. Never come back to organization of this sort.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    LOL

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The point is even when he has a good game, his team will lose. There is no team chemistry between him and the team. Just like the marriage of two wonderful person but they couldn’t make it work at the best of their effort. Now Dallas looks like a sinking Titanic.

  • 1mtoldman

    excellent advice on both counts.

  • 1mtoldman

sam hinkie hysteria. a cult has been built around obsession with race to the bottom. 6ers have squirreled away about 8 dp’s i think for net session including the lakers if (wont happen) they should fall from grace of bottom 5.

and actually (again the hinkie way); the point is not so much to have the draft pick but to get the draft pick so you can trade it away for someone you actually want.

because you’ve convinced everyone else that they should be excited about getting the draft pick.

  • 1mtoldman

of course makes absolutley no sense.

its not initials and its not phonetics. its not anything!

of and then c for course. as joyce ward would say: smh.

thats clearly a violation of the rules.

  • 1mtoldman

the theory being floated is that love will come over; kobe will leave and then westbrook will be there in 2. but i think kobe will keep on beyond next year and that would shoot that theory.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron has a sick mind doing things like this.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Boozer is a good sport. He just doesn’t want us to be too upset.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Offering a contract to Rondo means Kobe will keep on playing for Lakers. That is a real sad equation for Laker fans.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Agree to disagree and get it over with!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron did all these tanking to avoid winning games while Kobe is out.
Kobe really doesn’t want to see Lakers turning around without him. That will confirm all suspicion that Lakers can do much better w/o him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nash got his back aggravated because of carrying luggage. Players got sick once too often.
Lakers hasn’t taken care of their players. their asset.
Hope that I can see Byron Scott being fired soon.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    He is used by BS.
I don’t think Byron means to keep him on the team next season unless the tanking still goes on beyond this season.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Clarkson doesn’t look like an Asian American whatever way you see it. His going to the hoop and his playing style tells us that he’s not like Jeremy. Jeremy emphasis on layups rather than dunks. From what I can see it, a layup seems quicker than a dunk because it takes less effort and speed is the best asset for Jeremy’s game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I like Jordon Clarkson. I think he is as fine as an NBA rookie. But I don’t think he is at the level of Jeremy; not even close. He’s a SG. His passing just makes him a SG who could pass. That doesn’t make him a PG.
His play making ability is just a showcase of Byron Scott. It will take him many more years to reach Jeremy’s level of court vision and court spacing in games.

Anyway, none of the players in Laker is playing at their potential or even close under Byron Scott. The moment that Byron Scott leaves Laker, this team can really start their rebuilding.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jordon Clarkson is what he is. Nobody can make him anymore or less Asian. He looks perfectly like a black NBA player. There is nothing wrong with this. I like black NBA players too and I like what I see in Jeremy who is not a black player. He is quick and his passing is terrific. He makes people around him play at the next level. He’s a floor leader. Byron Scott isn’t. Not many players want to play under Byron Scott although he claims that players came to tell him that they wanted to play for him. That wouldn’t sell tickets. Byron’s coaching record explains all.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron would love to see Rondo, Ronnie, Ron*** etc.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has tremendous upsides and potential. Byron is too busy to cover this up. What we can see is a coach too busy burying his players for his dismal coaching. His character is despicable by all standard.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

So that is the practice that keeps Jeremy sick; the infamous Byron’s practice that has sidelined lots of NBA players.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron must take pride in his tough practices.
Byron Scott is a fitness coach and nothing more.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Rondo is definitely overrated. He’s paid about $12m. I don’t think he should be paid more than Monta Ellis at all.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s Morey’s way of making Alex happy.
Players should think twice before they sign any contract with Morey.

  • K. P. Chan

Last week I tweeted that saying Clarkson was Asian was “a stretch”. I didn’t think my tweet was received well, judging from the stone silence that greeted my tweet.

My sense was that some might have felt I disrespected Clarkson’s Asian’s ancestry. Some might have felt that I dismissed the significance of “an all-Asian Backcourt”.

The fact was, far from it! I don’t resent Clarkson’s new found success. If people celebrate that Asians can rise to the pinnacle of this profession, and Lin feels a special kinship toward Jordan, all power to Jordan. I am not denying his identity or ancestry.

Rather, I was simply reacting to the unseemly and incessant touting and overhyping of the “all Asian” angle. It was not only overblown, but it made it seem as though seeing Asians excel in the NBA was astoundingly unique, and something that shouldn’t happen.

Look, all that may very well be true, with reality being what it is today. We all know we have a way to go in terms of addressing racial bias and equality. But some folks seem to go out of their way to play the racial angle, and to say “See that? All’s cool”.

That to me distracts from the main issue. It is superficial, and it is just lip-service unless we see real change when some people put aside their own baggage and open their hearts and eyes.

We left at half time. Seriously no reason to watch the game without Jeremy bring there. Sadly that was my kids last chance to see Jeremy play this year. Let’s pray he finds a team that cAn be a home for him next year! Btw, there were so many Lin fans there yesterday that were crushed that Jeremy was sick. Poor guy to have so much pressure on him.

You don’t mean this do you?

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I was surprised to check the box score I when got home. The Lakers made half of their shots. But many of the misses were low-flying air balls that landed into the chests of Nets players under the rim. The kind of plays that make the crowd either gasp or just go quiet.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

But SG is the most competitive position. I think that’s why JC tries to sell himself as a PG.

  • linspiredinla
  • webattorney

I don’t think anyone thinks Lin is a “sham”. I think most BB savvy people know that Lin can play well to very well in the PnR system which allows him to handle the ball a lot and make decisions on whether to go to the rim, shoot pull-up jumpers or pass the big running PnRs with him.

For me, the more relevant question is whether some GM or Owner will be brave (or foolish depending on your perspective) enough to take a risk in letting Lin lead his team as a starting PG.

I hope he will not play today bc he didn’t look good yesterday. No need to play for tanking.

  • Maknusia

I dont think he will play…since I didnt see his name listed on the philly liked I gave below..

  • adele

Yes. At least he is resting.

  • adele

Thanks JoeTeam. We argue about Byron Scott. Lol

  • linspiredinla
  • adele

Hope he wont play coz it would not be fair. Also he needs to rest more. Hope he will not play anymore of these remaining games to avoid injury.

  • linspiredinla

This was posted last night, so lineup likely not current. If anyone, I’d trust Mark Medina for news today.

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

That would a record they might be proud off…lol

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

sweet… but i thought Lin had another one with one handed pass…that was good as well…pretty close to the number 10 pass

  • linspiredinla

The one passed between the legs was great also, but not noticed by NBA. Pointed out by Ido Amir.

  • Maknusia
  • Maknusia

    exactly….lol

  • Maknusia

    correct that was the other…

  • Maknusia

    what new tactic…tank harder?!

  • Maknusia

awesome….ateast you get to take picture with Jeremy! Go Rose!

  • Maknusia

    Beautifully said!..Adele

  • Maknusia

lol…we do only argue with the love ones….:)

  • Maknusia

with condition like that…nah…I would rather give him a rest

  • Maknusia

    lol…thats a bold statement!…Joyce

  • linspiredinla
  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

There’s that weird disqus glitch again. You try to delete something but it come back like Lazurus and posted as “Guest.’

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Now that’s a cool Thor look. Jeremy should go for it. (minus the tongue hanging out)

  • Maknusia

    hahaha…make it 20

  • LAJane

He’s a great-looking guy, but rock-n-roll hair is just not him. On Lin, give me dorky or chic-geek 😀 It’s gotta be something that’ll go with his floral shirt and questionable pants lol.

  • Maknusia

    its still Lin’s fault…for not playing…lol

  • Maknusia

    I felt the same….sarcastic

  • Maknusia

    lol…welcome guest!

I see this happens, when you have 2 logins on discuss, one as email login and the other as a nickname login

  • Maknusia
  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

That’s not what happened in this case. And I’ve seen this once before. It happens if you post a picture and then try to delete it. Apparently you need to first edit the original post by replacing the text with “…” and then delete it.

  • Maknusia

  • Maknusia

ok i have done your first 2 steps

    1)post a picture
    2) edit the text and replace with “…”

Q: how did you delete the picture?

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Click on the “Flag” icon. But choose delete instead of flag.

  • Maknusia

    done

  • joyce ward

Killing time, I thought this was interesting:

    https://twitter.com/HPbasketball/status/582607475813154816

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

And it worked! But if you had actual text instead of “…”, then the post and photo would reappear a few moments later as if posted by “Guest.” Once that happens, regular users can’t modify it any further.

  • Brent Yen

    Without Lin, truth became clearer…

  • JoeTeam

LOL, one thing you can’t argue about: he makes a lot of money for losing. I’m not sure I’d want that job given you only live once. But I might do it for 2 yrs 🙂

  • Maknusia

i had…initially it was titled as “picture” and then i edited the text to “…”

  • Brent Yen

Regular user simply can not delete a post. Mods have to do it

  • JoeTeam

Maybe he’s not sick in mind, but I’d still do the flabbergasted yell if this were one of my posse.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Right that’s what you need to do to delete. But try to delete it while the picture text is still there.

  • JoeTeam

or maybe Bev got even more belief he’s a starter. JC headed that way unless he picks up some green n’ growing pills, not ripe you rot.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

We just demonstrated that we can:

Flag your own post but choose delete rather than flag.

But if it’s a photo you need to replace all text first with …
Even without a photo you need to edit to … or a “this comment was deleted” message will remain.

  • Alain Gervais

bev really killed his value this year. after all that hype when lin was there.

  • lleepar

Compliments? Well … yeah … but … you get the impression that reporters have to absolutely pull a compliment out of BScott when it comes to Jeremy, and then you get the impression that BS is almost choking on it.

But other PGs? Scott waxed positively enthusiastic about Price when he played. He’s “tough”. A leader. The head of the snake. When it comes to Clarkson, well, BS will readily tell everyone that the team really hit a home run in the draft getting him.

But ask a direct question about Jeremy? Scott will allow (if asked) that he did some good things — in specific games. He was “pretty” effective. So what’s the coach really think of Jeremy, the basketball player? Well … he’ll allow as how Jeremy is a NBA player.

    Thanks, coach.

  • Sophie Paris

Hahaha sorry I can’t explain I’m french lol. Our slangs are even worse sometimes. But you forget something: there’s no rules 😉

  • Brent Yen

I think it will shown as a guest post after you try to delete it. With or without a pic. At least it was like that, Disqus changes things constantly

  • Sophie Paris

I’m talking overall his trade is no good for mavs.

  • you’re probably right. The charming geeky athlete is more him 🙂
I can’t see him with KPop hair and keeping a straight face, hehe

  • oh wow .. that’s the “Hunchback from Notre Dame” Nash 😀

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

That’s where the … trick comes in. @maknusia:disqus just did it and it worked. I don’t think he used Mod privileges.

  • true .. Hill can increase his value if he can make himself a 3pt-threat like Channing Frye

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

It’s a funny ad he did perhaps to make fun of the fact that once you reach a certain age, long hair doesn’t work anymore.

  • I think Lin’s presence last year made Harden/Bev numbers better than this year.

Without Lin, Bev didn’t get as much open look in 3pt line so he’ll be less effective since Bev can’t create offensively himself

  • Brent Yen

Lin/Bev actually worked well, I feel better than Bev/Harden

  • Maknusia

whats the browser you are using?

  • Brent Yen

Lol and who ever is the team signs Hill can kiss PnR goodbye

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

IE at work and Chrome at home.

  • joyce ward
  • Rick Johnson

    So much for “better fit”

  • Maknusia

    Pict

  • Rick Johnson

I hope he rests and gets better. It is a key “need to lose” game for the Lakers today, he will be handcuffed if he plays anyways.

  • joyce ward

I kind of get the feeling that harden/bev aren’t clicking anymore.I think Bev might be gone from Houston next season. I think Bev knows he has lost his footing with the Rockets and DM is ready to move on

  • yes, what I meant was Lin was the X-factor making Harden/Bev better than they actually are this year

I agree Lin/Bev worked well almost like Lin/Shump in NY because of their offensive/defensive balance.
Lin would look for Bev more than Harden does

  • Maknusia

    test

  • Maknusia

posting from one browser and reopening from another (edit) doesnt seem to work

  • it will be interesting if Morey sees Lin as a better replacement for Bev now LOL
Better offensive threat and good D to free up Harden more

Maybe that’s why Harden was extra nice to Lin in their last game, hehe..

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Hmm. In my case I posted and then tried to delete from the very same computer/browser/account ( I only have one disqus account.) But apparently the photo reappears if there is any text other than … AND you cannot post a photo without some text as well.

  • yes, it’s a lose-lose situation if Lin plays today.

He won’t get better sooner & his numbers/min will be capped to ensure the tank

  • JoeTeam

When did Scott tell you or anyone he thinks Lin is garbage? Would you kindly stop with the negative exaggerations? It makes no sense that if Lin scored 60 on Lebron, nobody would be impressed. It would hit headlines for every 24 hr sports news cycle, that’s just how the world works.

If you have a different point, try making it without all this stuff that is impossible to address because it’s so wrong. You’ll get a real convo going then. How you’ve done it, you’ve painted your audience and yourself in a corner that isn’t where Lin is at.

  • JoeTeam

it’ll be interesting to see how JC’s career plays out as he gets more real competitive pressure. Yes, I agree, ppl come play LAL with just a few players in mind: Lin, Booz, now to get Hill to give up, how to disrupt the other’s as they are hot and cold. Who else? Yep.

  • Maknusia

    PnP then

  • Grace Nsns

Not really, PB still got a lot of open looks thanks to rox offense and Harden this year, per game 2.7 open 3pt FGA and 2.1 wide-open 3pt FGA, http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/201976/tracking/shots/

it’s that his body couldn’t hold it anymore I guess, his 3% is poor for 3 of 4 categories, only good for wide-open 3pt

  • Grace Nsns

    The numbers are CLEARER now.

  • JoeTeam

your post reminds me of all good intentions going awry, like the CA pension system that is now really hurting municipalities. You can read online city managers wailing about how hard it is to protect their operating budgets.

  • JoeTeam

eh heh heh … ah, the past is so far gone …

  • Grace Nsns

Morey said they gonna win with or without PB, lol

  • Maknusia

The had been playing well…lets see…

  • joyce ward

After reviewing teams depth charts, here is a place where lin can land because they are weak at PG positions:Portland,Mavericks (starting position), Sacramento Kings(starting position).Orlando Magic( starting position), Denver Nuggets, NY Knicks and the NY Nets, and LA Clippers…just sayin…

  • Grace Nsns

Poor PB, I thought he’d be able to hold it until he gets his next contract. Hopefully Morey show him some mercy.

  • Dan Cohen

it’s against lowly phillies.. no need to play.. otherwise.. 18 and 8 is not the same as 18 and 8 against GSW.

  • Alain Gervais

brooklyn nets…….. but year lin will get offers it would be interesting to see if lin is thirsty for a chip if he takes less for a back up role on a team like clippers

  • Dan Cohen

human body is not the same as cockaroaches.. running around what seems like is good deense will take a toll on yo boda

  • Dan Cohen

but but… pb is hardenio’s little brother.

  • Dan Cohen

    diabloes has no mercies.

  • Brent Yen

I do not see how Clips can win a ring.

  • Dan Cohen

man.. the lin residue aftermath affect is still there in NY.

  • PPP

The bullet pass to davis while getting away from the double team would be my choice.

  • joyce ward
  • Brent Yen

M…..he was DNPed? I thought he was ill too

  • Charlie S

Yea I thought illness too. But nope, just need to evaluate the young players because Davis is clearly so old (heh)

  • CJSHYY

Of course he will not be happy.. I guess he will not stay.

  • Charlie S

I’m ok with sitting Lin for another game. Helps protect his stats too for free agency

  • CJSHYY

Wish they use the same excuse on Kobe when he comes back…LOL!

  • CJSHYY

Me too. He looked not OK yesterday so why needs to play today? For what? Lakers wants to loss the game. No needs to do it.

  • Grace Nsns

I wish him come back soon, he needs the playing time to develop, he’s putting things together now.

  • Brent Yen

This…a few bad games (stats-wise) are fine to me….

  • Alain Gervais

just an idea if getting less for a chip or a great coach

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • JoeTeam

yes, but if LAL can lose more without him, he will be allowed to play to win more. Ever minute Lin is in is a nail biter for the tank agenda.

  • Alain Gervais

agreed he is figuring out how he will play for the rest of his career. have to be on court to perfect that

  • Brent Yen

LOL, no one cares about LA anymore.

  • JoeTeam

I vote for Starts! Kings so I can drive up there. Then DEN so we can see MDA+Lin if that can happen. Oh, what the hay, why not have Fish go to DEN and get MDA + Lin back in MSG to up Dolan’s net worth. You never know with ppl and money.

  • joyce ward

Exactly Let lin rest. He has proven what he brings to the table

  • linspiredinla
  • JoeTeam

I def don’t care, just want Lin to have very good highlights, efficiency, and all that.

  • JoeTeam

May Noel monster on D so LAL can lose and then let Lin play a little freer.

  • Brent Yen

LOL ET games is much easier to follow too.

  • Rick Johnson

Though I was looking forward to him raising his arena record 9 3’s in Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

  • Rick Johnson

Did anyone watch the Dallas game without Ellis? Rondo seemed to put up some good numbers but I didn’t actually see the game so I was wondering if anyone did and how did he do? I wonder if Ellis ball hogging killed Rondo’s game like Harden / Melo / Kobe killed JLin’s game?

  • JoeTeam

you mean it’s not at dinner time or reading time, right? Yep.

  • linspiredinla

Only read that Rondo had best game so far – Monta. That’s why not too enthused about Lin going there with another ball hog.

  • Brent Yen

At least got more times to chat here after the game lol

  • sws94

I don’t want to see Lin miss any games. If it is at all possible, I want him to play. If he isn’t well, or at least at a minimum to play, only then do I not want him to play. Also, want to see Davis play. Had Davis played, I might have stayed at the Brooklyn game 2nd half but I figured Scott benched Davis for no reason.

  • sws94

A lot of teams have ball hogs. Lin is going to have to learn how to be effective when there is one on the team. Like don’t defer to them ever and if they are hogging, call them out on the sidelines. It’s part of being a floor general.

  • Samuel

I don’t think Ellis killed Rondo’s game, Rondo just isn’t the the player he used to be.
However, Ellis will kill Lin’s game just like Harden and Kobe, that’s why I don’t think Lin would be a good fit for the Mavs, unless Ellis to play for another team, or I would rather see Lin to play for a ballhugger free team next year.

  • Rick Johnson

I’ve heard rumors that Ellis may not be coming back to the Mav’s:

Could Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis both leave Dallas this offseason?
    http://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2015/3/24/8282871/rajon-rondo-monta-ellis-mavericks-nba-offseason-rumors

  • Alain Gervais

lin has develop enough to the point i don’t think it will

  • Samuel

me2, even he is still sick today.
Lin teed 34 in their house the last time he played there, he also scored season high 29 vs them 2 weeks ago, Lin needs to pad his stats in last 10 games for his next contract, he can rest as much as he wants in off season..

  • sws94

It can’t. Lin can’t let ball hogs just have their way. Many teams have them.

  • Rick Johnson

Same goes to BScott and the Lakers:

    Haralabos Voulgaris‏@haralabob
.@PhilJackson11 keep playing that archaic system, #groundup seems inevitable.
    https://twitter.com/haralabob/status/582384168308342784

  • sport

Lin’s really sick, I’d rather he rest up then put up a poor performance. If he puts up a single digit game we’ll all be disappointed.

  • sws94

Right, rest, get his body healed and then work on his game in the off-season.

  • Alain Gervais

yea exactly also clarkson is handling the ball a lot so it the bigs and the sg. so he knows how to play with ball hogs

  • sws94

He played well with the sinus condition in other games. His poor performances came when he had back spasms, but that’s not the case here.

  • Samuel

It’s all epends what you want from Lin, when play with a ballhugger, Lin is a 10-5 player tops; when he allows to play as a real PG, Lin can average 18-7 or even better.

  • sws94

That is what Lin has to work at changing. He just can’t give it to a ball hog and say shoot and wave them off if they are ball hogging and inefficient. If they get mad, Lin will tell them he gives the ball to the hot hands and that they share the rock.

  • sport

Except there’s something called politics where other players can’t call out the star players. We seen that happen to Melo, Harden, and Kobe, another other star will be babied by the coach and FO. The best star player for a PG will always be PF or Center. If only Lin could team up with a legit star like Anthony Davis who plays within the system and doesn’t chuck up shots.

  • Samuel

Clarkson IS a ballhugger, KHuang already warmed us that even before the season started.
If you watch the game closely, Lin didn’t play well with him, sure Lin still puts up ok numbers, but his +/- is very bad when plays with him.
For whatever reasons, Lin just doesn’t play well with ballhuggers, Lin looks like a totally different player when play with them..

  • sport

Except the ball hog will complain to the coach and FO and Lin will automatically be marginalized like past 3 seasons! I rather he not risk it and just find a star PG or Center to pair up with! In fact if Lin and Davis can team up on a] Eastern team with no star players that would be the best!

  • Samuel

You just can’t beat Melo, Harden, and Kobe, they are the man of their teams, they can’t do whever they want..

  • Samuel

If both Rondo and Ellis leave, then I would be all for it. Lin can run a ballhugger free team with both Chandlers would be nice.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I hope Lin will play and that means he’s 100%.

  • joyce ward

Some of you guys need to stop. If he is sick, he is sick. I suspect along with his sinus infection he probably got the flu for Boozer. He also said that he was dealing with a sore throat. Lin needs to be rested up for the two games that I think the Lakers want to win and that are the games against the Clippers. Also keep in mind if lin thinks he can play, he will. He must have been pretty wiped out not play for Chinese fans in Brooklyn. Lin is a much more confident, all around player. If lin play sick, his numbers go down, the same people saying he should play would be the same ones jumping on the bandwagon with Lin’s critics. You can’t have it both ways.

  • joyce ward

    smh…

  • joyce ward

    Stop the madness…smh

  • Brent Yen

We do not really need to worry he plays or not anyway. Lin knows what to do, play or not.

  • Alain Gervais

if lin can he will play i will just wait and see. changes what i do for the rest of the day. wish they would do an update already.

  • joyce ward

    Exactly

  • sport

Clarkson isn’t the star of his team that’s totally different. Star players will have leverage to complain and do whatever they want at Lin and other players’ expense!

  • sws94

Why, what’s your problem? I don’t want Lin to play sick, but he’s already shown he can play well with the sinus condition. I went to the game yesterday and when I learned he wasn’t playing I was disappointed of course, but I knew he wasn’t in any condition to play or he would have given it a shot. If he is responding to medication and feels up to playing, I’d like to see him play tonight, not sit. But of course I want his health best and that is what is most important.

  • Rick Johnson

Players probably should wear a mask when they’re sick otherwise the whole team gets sick. I see it in Asia commonly.

  • joyce ward

Did you miss the memo that he said he had gotten worse?

  • joyce ward

I don’t see it that much in the US, and you are right.

  • Samuel

It’s not “madness”, if Lin is really sick and can’t play at all, then so be it, it’s up to him but not us, and we all want what’s best for him.
Just don’t want to give Scott a reason to bench Lin at this time, Lin is red hot and averages 21.3 ppg in his last 4 games, with only 10 games left, Lin should pad his stats as high as possible..

  • JoeTeam

He did look pretty bad in weekend pics. He’s proven his worth since ASG. Just a few more piercing exhibitions for the fans and scouts and I’m good.

  • JoeTeam

Why not let go? Scott’s agenda is to bench Lin given the more Lin plays, the more LAL is out of the pick. They’ve been steadily working toward that all season.

  • sport

True the Clippers game is more important, the only benefit of playing 76ers another tanking team is stat padding.

  • Samuel

but Scott sure treats him like a superstar now, he gets all the green light and playing time, Scott even benched Lin for him, so the rookie can have more shots to pad his numbers.

  • joyce ward

So what you are saying makes no sense. If he is sick, he is sick. I think lin held it together for as long as he could. I think he could deal with the sinus issue, but I think somewhere along the line,it was stated that Boozer had the.flu. Lin might have picked that up also.If his antibiotics are kicking in,he should be much improved in the next couple of days.

  • sws94

No, that was yesterday’s game and he wasn’t able to play. If he’s gotten worse today or is the same as yesterday, of course he should not play. I didn’t hear anything about his status today.

  • joyce ward

Scott wants to beat the Clippers.

  • Brent Yen

    Team of LA!

  • sport

LA rivalry of course! Same thing with Sox vs Cubs.

  • JoeTeam

No Scott doesn’t think JC is a superstar. JC is just one of BSc’s tools for his own goals. If he is seen as winner to get the pick, JC is just part of that toolset to get there. You can see it in his minutes and games. Lots of scoring, but no real chance to win games. That’s right, that’s the right tool for the job.

  • joyce ward

That was what he said yesterday. If you looked at the video, he looked wiped out. For him not to play for his Chinese fans tells me that he was really sick.

  • joyce ward

    Yep

  • JoeTeam

I was on a plane recently when a lady coughed on me for the whole trip. I wanted her to have a mask. If I had one, I’d have used it. Asians at least are respectful of sharing lol.

  • steven ko

Ellis can’t hurt Lin’s game because of one championship coach in Carlisle. If Carlisle was the coach for LA, those Kobe antics would never have been tolerated. Lin will thrive in Dallas no doubt…

  • JoeTeam

Today is a must-lose. Lin has to be kept off the court for that alone.

  • sws94

TI don’t know what Scott’s agenda is now but he wouldn’t put Lin in as a starter in the last 13 games if he just wants to bench him. He had 36 minutes in a game where Lin wasn’t feeling well. Scott will do anything on any given night and it probably won’t even make any sense.

  • Brent Yen

Just relax…the more you are aware of that the worse your immu system will function…lol

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe if they could make them more fashionable people in US would wear them. Maybe some satin like material.

  • joyce ward

Yep, and Clarkson is anybody but lin. Also, I suspect once Scott uses up Clarkson, he will throw him away, just like he did Price. Scott has not uttered another word about Price. Also, I believe that Lin is caught in some political game with a brother and sister trying to one up each other. I am glad lin spoke up, now Lakers got exposed.

  • JoeTeam

Well, I think it goes like this: if Lin is in, and he’s not doing well because of illness, he’ll leave him in to appease the fans. You could see the tank agenda in writing on the wall when Lin did not play in the 4th or OT recently, and only by incompetence did they win by FT’s from JC.

Since I see the goal of the team clearly like most, I think the more Lin is out, the more LAL lose, the more when Lin is in he gets to play hard and long. So, let his sick days give him more winning minutes later, I’d say.

  • sws94

Exactly, I knew if he didn’t play he was sick. He was wiped out. He’s taking his meds and we’ll see how he feels today. I trust Lin to go or not go depending on how he feels. I just don’t trust Byron to be sensible with his minutes if he decides to go but hopefully Lin will say that’s all I got if Byron tries to overuse him when he plays, tonight or Wednesday or whenever his next game is.

  • Briiick

Agreed. The best PG for Harden is always the backup PG.

  • Samuel

I can’t let it go because I’m a Lin fan.
and since when a player deserves to be punished by being the best player on the team? I’m so sick of this tank, T-Wolves and Sixers are tanking as well, but they do it with class, they let their best players to finish the game at least, watching Lin’s face on the bench during the clutch time break my heart..

  • JoeTeam

I stressed out but didn’t get sick so lucky me. Chinese like good fortune, life is better with a little luck.

  • sport

Not really they just need to play Lin’s minutes in 1st and 3rd quarter and rest him almost entire 4th quarter like last few games. If Lakers dig a big hole in 4th then Lin can close out the game.

  • sws94

Pressy was the coach for that OT game. I think the Lakers tank and play Lin a lot or finish with him when Byron’s agenda is to win. But, someone in the Lakers wanted to see Lin start or play with Clarkson or something and he does play. Byron sat Hill and now they say Boozer is sick, but I don’t know if he was planned to play road games or not when they started.

  • Samuel

did you ask for a refund? would have been nice if they traded DWill for Lin before the deadline..

  • Briiick

Morey/Haren want no one to share Haren’s spotlight in the backcourt, not even once in a while, which means a backup PG will always be better than the starting PG.

  • joyce ward

It is only 10 games left after this. lin has established himself enough for a good contract next season. The last games are home games, so lin will shine.

  • JoeTeam

Yes, and this season has really helped Lin to mature and take command of his short term future. His performance since ASG indicates a decisiveness that he implemented, and I thought the Torre article was great in that he’s avoiding his tiger parents. Very telling of his journey. Only thing I wish for him is to be less tormented by his own self doubt that he indicated in that article, and probably that comes from having tiger moms/pastors and Godly standards. He can use a few laughs with SwaggyP and with other lower key players. He can use more time with the homeless, who I bet don’t harp on him and accept him for his kindness, who he is. Some of the coolest ppl in the world are common folks who face hardships and yet they know everyone has it so they are able to understand. Lin’s gonna rise next year.

  • JoeTeam

did you get all your tix? Easy and cheap this year. Maybe one more year of cheap lol.

  • sws94

No, I just left after half-time. I was wondering about Davis but then saw that he was unhappy that he didn’t play in the game. It’s one of those things, only the second game Lin missed but he just couldn’t go so that’s that.

  • Briiick

Yeah, Lin should take more rest and avoid these tanking games.

I will buy a couple more for myself and my brother. He wants to attend the Mavericks game that is in April.

  • sws94

He’s a Staples favorite, and I think not only Lin faithfuls but Lakers fans appreciating watching a good team player and they enjoy how he plays the game.

  • JoeTeam

Yep, I know but Pressy would have been tight on the BSc instructions because he would be in trouble if he won … d’oh, he did win lol.

I was just wondering why Hill did so on efficiency and box scores well with Lin out sick, I didn’t watch last game.

  • joyce ward

They love lin. When lin is playing the whole team looks better.

  • JoeTeam

bummer for you, man. Next year!

  • sws94

Nothing really. He shot the ball pretty well, rebounded, etc. He was well rested and fresh too.

  • Samuel

I know all of that, and I know they have a much better chance for tank with Clarkson on the floor.

But he is getting the ultimate green light and playing time now is also a fact, lot of “Laker fans” say that Clarkson is outplaying Lin now makes me sick, first he is far away from a better player than Lin, also Lin would have put up nuch better number if he had the green light and playing time like Clarkson now.

    get the point now?

  • sport

In Asian countries they are more break outs of deadly viruses from livestock so the mask thing it’s common practice. Even when Mexico had that break out, people here in US still didn’t wear masks =/ It just makes one look odd when other people don’t usually do it.

  • JoeTeam

Yes, but Lin can really win it if he’s left in. I thought 2 games ago was so funny, that they kept Lin off the floor in the 4th and OT and JC won it with a FT. For one point, he would leave the ‘company’ in a lurch.

  • JoeTeam

Yes, you are right in that they’ve been able to mess up his game regularly with weird pairings. However, I meant that they really have to lose to the 6ers, and if Lin plays, it makes it much harder to fall behind by 5-10 pts like they did to the Nets.

  • JoeTeam

    Ah, that’s it. Rested.

  • joyce ward

My pastor always reminds us that the enemy will always keep you remembering your condition(mindset). Scripture states that it has never been about our condition, but our position in Christ Jesus. I think lin is beginning to get that now. I think a lot of athletes do what lin does, but they are truthful or vocal about their struggles.

  • Samuel

I really feel bad for Lin fans from NYC and Blooklyn yesterday 🙁

  • joyce ward

i thought it was more telling when Davis spoke out about being benched for no reason.LOL

  • JoeTeam

Well, sorry to say this, but you can choose not to be sick over it. It’s happening and you can be happy if you decide to see it differently. I’m quite happy – you see, is Lin and Bev on the same trajectory now? No way, and JC will go his own way. That’s life. Let them have their day, because we are all on different paths.

Oh, and the folks saying JC is outplaying JLin don’t know bball. The GMs and scouts know.

What we need is a better team, and Lin has a shot at that in FA. Then some support for him to be the PG. Then the PR comes.

  • JoeTeam

He’s maturing. A young Christian gets boxed in with all the pressures to be perfect. You know the drill … sergeant 🙂

  • Brent Yen

    Drill the box open!

  • Brent Yen
  • JoeTeam

There are some heavy picks in those churches lol.

  • joyce ward

It is coming open. I think Lin needs to read the book by Joyce Meyers,”Battlefield of the Mind”.It definitely changed the my critical perception about my self.

  • joyce ward

    Yep, there it is.

  • JoeTeam

    hmmm … save to cart.

  • Brent Yen

LOL, now 76ers need to come out with a better plan to lose……LOL Without Lin, Lakers is really really hard to beat…

  • Sunny Sullenberger

    Not much news about Lin.

If you care about NBA, and want to know more about the game, this is a good read. Also, you can see why Scott is outdated.

In a nutshell, The league has evolved; 3-pointer becomes more and more important.

  • JoeTeam

LOL … beat in the tank? Actually, PHI now have 1.5 people freed up on each defensive set and that will be hard to adjust to in terms of not having some advantage from last time they played when LAL won.

  • joyce ward
  • JoeTeam

Play Hill, Sacre, sit Booz Davis for the fun later against the LAC.

Jeremy Lin will miss a second straight game with an upper respiratory infection. Wayne Ellington will again start in his place.

Ill call today a night since lin isnt playing but did any one read the article on philly leading to land lin???? It says rox and milwalkee anothr option as well

  • joyce ward

At least scott doesn’t need to come up with some devious scheme to sit lin when they started winning.LOL

  • joyce ward

    Where is the article?

  • Brent Yen

    POST ASB, line ups that played more than 20 minutes, Davis,Ed – Ellington,Wayne – Hill,Jordan – Johnson,Wesley – Lin,Jeremy has the highest NetRTG of 13.9

  • 1mtoldman

were you waiting for the news in hopes the children settle down and behave or you just going to not bother opening a new thread since lin not playing.

6ers winning % on season better than lakers winning % without lin playing significant minutes.

a 6ers win would tie them with lakers in win column.

tankathon rates this game highly significant in terms of tank rank but im not so sure. there is a big difference between 3 and 5 i suppose but not so much 5 to 4 or 4 to 3.

the real test would be holding the #5 spot should the boogie man decide to “rest” and or layoff some money on the lakers in those last 2 games. but that seems pretty remote.

and i think regardless of lin’s participation lakers have a good chance of running the table with loses with the possible exception being the minny game if they continue to have so many players out.

6ers and lakers have the best records last 10 games among the real 5 bottom tankers so something has to give here.

Byron doesn’t think Lin’s ailments will keep him out any longer than tonight

  • Brent Yen

    Boozer,Carlos – Brown,Jabari – Davis,Ed – Johnson,Wesley – Lin,Jeremy line up has a NetRTG of 21.8…POST ASB

  • 1mtoldman

ahh an edit. i was going to say: when did ed davis ever play 30 minutes?

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

    OK, thanks:)

    dwill will be jealous.

Of course, lin has to get rested up for those Clipper games..LOL

Update: Boozer will *not* play tonight. Byron wanted to play him but Boozer, like Lin, isn’t feeling well (upper-respiratory infection).

Guess somebody just said screw u to the coach.

  • Rick Johnson

Probably didn’t want to get jerked around in a game they will obviously try to lose.

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward
  • JW

True, but having given the all clear to play and then saying that he’s not. It’s obvious he feels there’s no need to give anything more to this team.

  • JW

Didn’t watch yesterday’s game. Probably won’t for today’s as well since Lin is not playing.

Saw the ESPN highlights for the game, not one play for the LAL. So nothing good happened for LAL even though they caught up to 4 pts down in the 4th?

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

No, nothing good happened for LAL (mimicking you in my nastiest, most sarcastic voice.) 🙁

  • Alain Gervais

yea idk whether to take it seriously or not since lin himself has yet to talk about it. by his own admission

  • JW

They probably should’ve shown Lin resting in the locker room. Would’ve made it more worthwhile highlight.

  • JW

Still using Lin to promote the game even though he’s not playing.

  • CJSHYY

How come this sounds like tanking on purpose to me?! Well, I hope Lin gets enough rest then plays for home game.

  • linspiredinla
  • Grace Nsns

He was player of the game last time, it makes sense, lol

  • joyce ward

76ers got a young team with some talent. Cavaliers almost lost to the them by 1 point. They had 11 steals to Cavs 7. Score was 87-86.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I did leave with like 46 seconds left in the game so at least I didn’t become a sardine on the subway ride home.

  • Grace Nsns

Too bad, I know the feeling.

  • 1mtoldman

i always attribute worsening sinus problems to being on planes.

  • JW

Too bad you didn’t get to see Lin in action live, but at least it was illness and not that single DNP-CD. I would’ve been really pissed going to that game.

  • CJSHYY

I hope they can beat Lakers today. LOL!

  • 1mtoldman

so…not bothering to do a game thread tonite since lin out…or just waiting to catch everybody off guard?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Sixers will lose today:-) No JLin No Win!!!!

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

True. You know that DNP-CD came the very next game after Kobe’s season-ending injury. At the time I didn’t make the connection but in retrospect that’s a suspicious coincidence.

  • Game 73 Thread vs PHI is now open
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g73-lal-phi-game-thread/

Lin is ruled out to play due to respiratory issues but we know this is a “Must-Tank” game.

Having less than 100% Lin would still jeopardize the Must-Lose game by winning close like he did against 76ers in LA

Let’s hope Jeremy have plenty of rest and ready to finish the last 10 games strong!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

WOW! What’s going on???? Desperate for wanting to keep JLin or to bring viewing up???

  • hm, let’s see if you’re off-guard & need some new off-the-ball moves lol

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

    Only 9 psalm.

  • oh yes, I forgot.. man, I forgot these tanking games cheat Jeremy’s and other players chance to perform

  • sws94

Yeah, wasn’t meant to be for yesterday.

  • adele

Yes because I pointed out the irrational moves that bs did and since bs is an ex showtime lakers, he defended him and make some excuses. But then when I asked him why he is not plaing Lin with aed davis after their first win of the season against utah and Lin scored 21 points and davis had a great game after that, my husband cant answer why bs made a change in the game plan and in the line up

  • adele

Thanks Maknusia. I am an avid Lin fan. I just read all your posts before and just upvote them. You all express the thoughts that most Lin fans are thinking. You’re kind of his soldiers out there. Always fighting for The unfair treatment. Im the passive type. Just like Lin’s mentality. I don’t usually argue and just let go. Just concentrate of improving oneself and things will just resolve by itself together with prayers.

  • adele

Nice to know some nice people out here. It’s some kind of a family in itself.

  • adele

    Lol

  • GoodDayLA

I know that Scott thinks Lin is garbage.

  • GoodDayLA

    exactly.

  • JoeTeam

    how?
