G59 PHX @CHA Game Thread

In a winnable game against Phoenix Suns, would Jeremy Lin get more playing time?

  • The next game tomorrow vs 76ers would also have greater implication to impress a team with Mike D’Antoni as the Associate Head Coach. If JLin plays well, it would certainly be easier to persuade the 76ers Front Office to pursue JLin in the off-season.

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray he may seize his chance in limited minutes to contribute with his shooting to help the Hornets to win

  • Weifang

    timing is the key! first!

  • CJSHYY
  • Linzen

Can/Will 76ers/Nets pick him up and have a 2-month experiment? Hope not.

  • heart

Will Ty Lawson get to play in playoffs if someone sign him today after the buy out? Anyone know? Where’s everyone?

  • Rick Johnson

My prediction is that PHX is so bad Hornets will beat them easily. JLin will get limited minutes because even in a blowout Kemba will play >42 minutes to stat pad.

  • heart

After a loss, Cliff will want redemption to save face. So yes, he will design plays for KW & NB to get stats and ultimately a win. This is also a ‘must win’ game so Cliff will do anything to make sure it’s a win and let those two stat pads. As usual, Lin will do the ‘dirty work’ (defense). Once he sees the win is certain, Lin will be taken off the floor. That has been Cliff’s pattern. We’re looking at Rox (part deux), IMO.

  • Rick Johnson

I don’t know. Pacers was a must win too and JLin had them coming back in the 4th to within a few points. But then Walker came in, took JLin’s place at PG and the Hornets choked. Seems like Walker takes priority over winning.

  • CJSHYY

Kemba will be the saver for this game today. No one will say anything about his bad Hawks game.

  • DX

Cliff was thinking Kemba will shoot back. At least, Lin did finish the game.

  • heart

Exactly, that’s how Cliff/Hornets want it.

  • Rick Johnson

Hornets actually have a pretty easy rest of schedule. Unless Hornets really choke they should do well and perhaps make the playoffs. ESPN has them at 83.4% chance at making the playoffs. Hopefully it will be a really good playoff series for JLin to boost his market value going into FA.

  • heart

Is it this game or the next game that will determine if Hornets stay in the playoffs berth? Their playoff standing is also dependent on other teams win/loss. If it is, then a ‘must win’ is their motivation. However, if Cliff allows NB & KW to ball hog & stat pads, play Lee instead of Lin in crunch times, and make no in-game adjustments like the last game, then it’s further prove that Cliff is NOT a good strategic coach, and politics are behind his coaching decision.

  • heart

Thanks. So he gets early vacation.

  • Rick Johnson

March 1 is the playoff eligibility waiver deadline though I’m not sure what time is the deadline. But assuming it’s midnight ET I think if someone picks him up before then he can be in the playoffs.

    http://www.nba.com/news/important-dates/

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/25500985/ty-lawson-looking-for-playoff-team-after-reported-buyout-with-rockets
Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports the agreement comes on March 1, just inside the deadline of when a player can be waived and still be eligible to play on a postseason roster. The savings from the deal will go toward filling the open roster spot with a guard as the Rockets now have just over half a million dollars to play with before they hit the hard cap.

  • CJSHYY

Hope so but I don’t think Hornets or Cliff care about Lin’s FA since he will not stay like Batum… Lin will get usual time & take less than 10 shots.

  • heart

Starters were so bad allowing 20pts + deficit and yet Cliff made no adjustments. Instead of allowing Lin to continue after he brought the game w/in 2pts, Cliff returned KW to take over pg duty and the deficit returned. It was just mind-boggling and pure frustration watching that sequence of Cliff’s decision-making process. So over w/ his so-called coaching ‘intelligence’.

  • Rick Johnson

Hornets, Chicago, DET and IND are all 11.5 games behind. Hornets only #6 due to conference record and head to head tie breaker. If Chicago wins and Hornets lose today they will fall all the way down to #9 out of the playoff picture.

  • heart

Thanks. So tonight game is also dependent on how well Bulls play. Is Rose playing tonight? What are the odds? What if Hornets & Bulls both lose or win?

  • sws94

I’m reading that Hawes isn’t close to being able to play yet. That means more Jefferson. Not good.

  • Rick Johnson

Charlotte has the better conference record so if Bulls and Hornets both win they will stay at #6 ahead of Bulls. I think if they both lose then Charlotte will go to #8 an Bulls to #9. If Charlotte wins & Bulls lose they will still be at #6 but will create a .5 game separation from #7 & 8.

    Yes Rose playing:

  • Linzen

Clifford move your star centre back to the 1st team!!!!! Come on!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Is Morey a snake or what? He waives Lawson this late so he can’t join another playoff team (maybe even the same division)?

  • DaBoss

Just remember as one poster reminds us – Clifford has to manage egos. Smh.

  • CJSHYY

So Lawson will be a FA only this summer?

  • Dorothy

and it is not Lawson’s fault that things did not work out, but Morey is penalizing Lawson, SMH

  • takemeback2reaganyears

According to report he will be cleared on Thursday to join anther team but won’t be qualified to be in playoff roster, today is the deadline.

Actually he can’t be claimed either.

  • heart

That’s what I was thinking. Ty can’t be picked up by a playoff team. If he gets pick up by a team, he needs that team to show case him for FA.

  • Acbc

Horents lost against the Suns last time. I wouldn’t expect an easy win just yet, not the way they played the last game.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Wow guys, this Cousins guy really has an anger management problem and he could be a time bomb for anyone.

    https://vine.co/v/igiQL9wznw9

  • Acbc

Think about all the PGs that Morey has given away. Dragic, Lowrey, Lin, Morey is such a snake that he knows full well that Lawson would do everything in his power to beat the Rox if given a chance.

  • Weifang

I surely hope so, then Lin might get some meaningful minutes. KW only gives up the ball when he has no where to go like last game because Hawks is doing honest defense even to KW. So Lin can shine for 5 minutes. But many other teams just let KW go solo to kill the team ball.

  • Rick Johnson

    Was Bledsoe playing last time?

  • Acbc

    No Bledsoe was out.

  • Rick Johnson

So Ronnie Price beat them? That’s pretty bad.

  • grover chang

Why would any free agent play under Morey after this season? His emotional IQ is horrible.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Even the worst one on the list Aaron Brooks got quality playing time with the Bulls.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

…and the Suns just got their W last game against the Grizzlies.

  • Lefon Jang

It takes two to tango. Adams is a dirty player.

  • sws94

Part of me thinks Lin can play with Al on offense. But Al’s lack of help defense really hurts any team he plays with.

  • Weifang

this reminds me LBJ loves holding Lin’s hand/arm.

  • grover chang

Let’s also see if rockets start to tank. If they make the playoffs they lose their first round pick to Denver in the Lawson trade

  • takemeback2reaganyears

…and the rest of you don’t think he can play with Al?

  • the rest of him could be neutral.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Ok could be.

  • sws94

Al in PnR and give and goes is good with Lin. Al constantly in the post missing bunnies slowing down the offense, not so good.

  • grover chang

Preseason experts picked pistons, wizard, magic, and bucks as teams to make the playoffs. Hornets were never mentioned. Now they are in the six spot.

Good thing they picked up Batum and Walker improved. Where would the hornets be without those two?

  • Joe what do you know

    It’s called PUPPY LOVE…

  • cdblue10

the funny thing is if they lose twice they can go down as low as 12

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Because they don’t want to be forced to admit Lin is a biggest upgrade for the Charlotte.

  • Jim

if Clifford used Lin more then he would get credit too
its all how much coach values u

  • takemeback2reaganyears

If Cliff used Lin more they would be in 3rd not 6th.

  • Jim

Adams is a dirty player and hes very annoying too
more than our friend patrick beverley(sarcasm)

  • Jim

maybe but he didnt and they are where they are now because of cliffords coaching..for better or for worse

  • cdblue10

    nice drama

  • More excellent JLin statement to speak up against the Oscar Asian stereotyping

Jeremy Lin not happy with portrayal of Asians at Oscars

“I just feel like sometimes the way people perceive Asians or Asian-Americans today can be disappointing in the way they view them,” Lin said after the Hornets practice Tuesday morning. “Even Asian-American masculinity or whatever you want to talk about, just a lot of the ways that Asians are perceived I don’t always agree with.”

Lin went on to say that he usually enjoys Chris Rock’s usual brand of comedy, and for the most part enjoyed the opening monologue, but this felt like a moment he could stand up for Asians. He sees the way that the Asian race is depicted in movies, and a lot of media in general, and feels that there’s a chance to be more broad with these characters.

“In acting, you look at Asian roles, they always seem to be in similar roles,” Lin said. “I feel like we are just so much more broad than that. What you see on TV, that is so influential. Perception is reality and that’s the truth it today’s day and age where it such a digital and technological age.

So if we can start branching out a little bit or at least showing that we are different than what other people think we are, maybe we can start to break down some of those walls.”

Lin is a well known player in the NBA for not only his play, but his Taiwanese heritage. As one of the few Asian players in the NBA he’s a central figure that has to battle with the same types of stereotypes that Asian actors and actresses do. This raises him to a status where his opinion on topics like this matter and should be listened to.
    Link: http://www.atthehive.com/2016/3/1/11142404/jeremy-lin-not-happy-with-portrayl-of-asians-at-oscars

  • Jim

That’s the point of his comedy though, just stereotyping
He said a lot of things about black people too
those stereotypes are not always true but you can say that about every other race not just asians

In terms of acting roles, things will get better asians are still minority so there arent gonna be a lot of roles for us but it will get better like it did for black people

  • kauaiblue

What?? Pfv supports trump?? What?? Oh my…

  • I like what JLin said that “What you see on TV, that is so influential. Perception is reality and that’s the truth in today’s [digital/technological] age.”

I think he knows first-hand that what’s being shown on TV is powerful because it tells people that it is OK and acceptable. After Linsanity, more Asian parents allowed kids to play basketball.

He realized that if he didn’t say anything, the Asian walls would just be limited to the nerdy accountant look while Asians are so much more than that.

I bet more writers would think twice about writing more stereotypes to be laughed after JLin used his platform to raise the awareness that Asians can be more. i.e. Asians can be an NBA All-Star too, or leading Hollywood actors/actress

JLin speaking up will help things get better for Asians since they will have more chances to succeed in new roles

  • PPP

Any mod interested to set up a poll for which team lin fans would like him to join next season that he would start or at least can compete to start.

    1. Any team hires MDA as head coach (not associate hc), other than Phoenix (Bledsoe + Knight, unless one of them is traded)
    2. Milwaukee (only MCW is under contract, great young talents who need a vet fast pace pg to lead them)
    3. Utah (Exum comes back after major surgery)
    4. Atlanta (if Teague is traded + Kenny Atkinson effect)
    5. Brooklyn (basically has no picks to trade for better talent, not a playoff contending team)
    6. Philly (too young, not much talent but has a lot of cap space and picks, a chance to pick Simmons)
    7. Knicks….umm unless melo is traded, lol

Milwaukee is my favorite. Novak is out of the season but I think he will sign a vet min deal with them for being at home and reunite with lin.

    Any others?

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • NONONO

good idea. Mavs, Heat and Bulls are possible too.

  • NONONO

For the same reason, I would always vote Lin for All-Star, never vote him for NBA 6th man.

  • We can certainly create this poll soon. Thanks for listing the ideas.
It would be interesting if Option 1 with MDA wouldn’t get at least 40%

  • PPP

    Agree with Bulls
No heat if Wade re-signs, which he will.
No Mavs after last summer drama

  • DX

Maybe shouldn’t ask, so same starters today?

  • PPP

True, but its not easy for him to get a hc job. Only Philly (if Brown is fired) or Suns (Bledsoe + Knight? ) has a slim chance, my 2c.

Thanks! Ronnie Price is starting now, Lin is still backup. 🙁

No team that properly utilizes Lin will stay bad for long.

Even the Lakers could have EASILY won 50 games last season had Byron Scott corralled Kobe Bryant and not benched Lin unfairly.

  • Lefon Jang

  • Alain Gervais

  • kauaiblue

    No foul?

  • heart

As predicted earlier, stat padding for KW & NB are Hornets/Cliff’s goal for tonight against the Suns next to near bottom pole WC team playing w/o their starters. So KW & NB actually are playing against bench players except for Chandler who have no help from Suns guards. Suns are sinking or maybe tanking at this time. A win from this team is not comparable to a win that Lin led w/ one bad ankle vs healthy Cavs starters.

  • Lefon Jang

    I think so

  • Alain Gervais

Lin needs to get a tech

  • sws94

I agree. Unacceptable tonight. Does LIn have to bleed. They’ve missed at least 4 legit calls.

  • Lin got whacked hard on the head but no calls at all.

  • 808JL7

    Refs are Melo fans.

  • james brown

commentator just said: “sometimes its hard to be a Jeremy Lin”?

  • heart

Hornets Eric Collins said “sometimes it’s hard being Jeremy Lin, getting pounded…” His voice lowers and tapers down when he said ‘getting pounded’. I give him credit, but he should complain and speak up LOUDER for Lin as one of Hornets players.

  • Jim

he cant say too much or h*** get fined like van gundy

  • he knew something is up with 4-5 non-calls

  • Pete Roces

refs wont make the right call for an asian, they only care about whites and blacks. NBA is the ultimate racist!

  • time to make another video?

  • Rick Johnson

Why is Walker guarding Teletovic? That’s two 3’s he’s just shot over his head.

  • Lefon Jang

Lin got played by the Oscars in speaking out against a black man

  • JoeTeam

Well. I wouldn’t have said it this way but then again, JLin called out the Oscars so it’s time.

  • LinMad

Oscars pulling strings in the NBA to stop the only Asian speaking up against Chris Rock’s racism.

  • heart

I just thought about that. You may be right….

  • Pete Roces

yup its about time to voice out!

  • kauaiblue

I think so… someone with some influence say something please…

  • Jim

    yep black people are angry

  • LinMad

make another video that shows all the bad calls from NBA refs on Jeremy Lin, send it to me, I’ll invest $5000 into Youtube ads to blow that video up and embarrass the NBA.

  • james brown

it seems i am watching a movie where the lead actor gets all the flack for being against those who are at the top?

hope there will be a truth at the end of the movie if that will be so!

  • your son’s voltaire

why isn’t clifford standing up for Lin? if there’s ever a time to do it, it’s now??

  • cdblue10

But the ref that doesn’t blow his whistle ,was the #15 it doesn’t even make sense

  • kauaiblue

Its time to start suing. If your bosses r not promoting you, talk to a lawyer.

  • LinMad

cause he only cares about KW/Batum

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Don’t even waste your time on the question.

  • heart

After 4 or 5 non-foul calls, only Eric Collins timidly said something about Lin getting pounded in low-tone tepid voice. Make NOTE: Don’t hear Stephanie Ready or Dell Curry say anything in Lin’s defense against these non-foul calls or for Lin’s favor???

  • Rick Johnson

Stephanie Ready didn’t think Carmelo’s uppercut was a flagrant foul. Bet she would have if it was Walker getting the upper cut.

  • LinMad

im getting close to giving up on the Hornets and just watch Lin highlights

  • your son’s voltaire

Collins is awesome. he always speaks the truth. his jokes are WAY better than that fake Rock

  • kauaiblue

Go out withfriends instead. I got back in touch with sime and it’s great.

  • adele

That’s why I don’t want Lin to play anymore for the Hornets

  • Linzen

Ready and Curry are too busy kissing up to KW azzz

  • heart

Yes. I was horrified when I heard her downplay that foul from Melo. Lin got an obvious cut on his nose…

  • kauaiblue

I dont know about you guys, but I am starting to despise this team…

  • your son’s voltaire

that’s cus they’re working on getting a coaching gig by buttering up the Hornets organization

  • JoeTeam

You all can do that. I my day, I hear said to me 3 times in 8 years – “You’re good with numbers, you’re not good with people.” I never had a problem with people when it came to social intelligence. Funny, them’s code words for bamboo ceiling. Each time was when guys I helped do their work got the promotion over me, and when I had to report to them, I left.

  • your son’s voltaire

same with Kobe’s clothesline on Lin

  • LinMad

im starting to despise this sport

  • cdblue10

I despised them since the 10th games of the season

  • Jim

You are 2 months late buddy

  • LinMad

Jordan never looks happy when KW is doing well. I honestly feel he wants Lin to succeed on his team. He probably feels Lin doesn’t get enough opportunity and is being treated unfairly by the refs.

  • Linzen

Turn off my stream the second Lin is sub-out. 😡

  • Pete Roces

Biased calls or non calls against Jeremy is the SOP of NBA refs, nothing you can do about it coz he is just an Asian and no blacks and whites care about it, that’s the sad state of Jeremy Lin, the lone Chinese American player in NBA.

  • james brown

why are the starters still playing..LOL

everybody in hornets happy for their great game!!!

  • Jim

going out on a monday? lol ur a warrior

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I’m only in here and there because I support JLIN. Otherwise, I’m out of NBA for good;-)

  • cdblue10

Reddy: YOUR TEAM…..asking question about Kemba

  • your son’s voltaire

only Lin fans know the real truth behind the crooked NBA. the general public are all sheeps

  • Linzen

I can see your good nature just by this post! 🙂

  • kauaiblue

    Me too.

  • your son’s voltaire

Eric Collins jokes are WAY funnier than Rock’s and he doesn’t even do stand-ups for a living! HAHA

  • kauaiblue

Actually, i always did since after preseason. I thought i was gonna get banned for saying it.

  • LinMad

his fans need to stand up and protest the NBA or something

  • kauaiblue

Its a beautiful sport but nba it despicable.

  • Weifang

just start to check in the game. how many minutes has lin played so far? 20 pts ahead, guess Lin won’t have many touches today.

  • Pete Roces

Sad but it’s true. I wish Lin can reveal all these shenanigans when he retires.

  • spiderman

    Go Price!

  • LinMad

Lin is no longer the 6th man. He only gets enough touches to take a few shots here and there but it’s even much harder now to make any impact on the game. It’s a resting season for him now.

  • cdblue10

    give ’em some fight suns

  • AlexBB

    Same same

  • kauaiblue

Just for coffee even… i check in here to see how our boy is doing… but im done with this team… i only watch highlights ifnyou guys say he got a chance…

  • Linzen

    Go Suns Go

  • Joe what do you know

Batum gets WAYYYY too many minutes….

  • kauaiblue

I despise organizations that r unfair to their good employees 🙂

  • your son’s voltaire

Sonnie Weems is on the Suns’ roster? lol. he is also a Montgomery client just like Lin

  • Weifang

    sad but expected thanks

  • kauaiblue

Anyone here have connections? Please say something about the bs no calls from refs… this retaliation for jlin speaking out about Oscars…

  • LinMad

    tweet it

  • Jim

    i might start that too
clifford stresses me out too much

  • kauaiblue

    Lets all tweet!

  • JJ Hui

He is a snake oil sales man, what else is good of him?

  • Linzen

I mean you are so patient and wait until now to despise this team… quite forgiving… unlike me! 🙂

  • LinMad

    i already did multiple times

  • sws94

I think Lee is playing more to get him ready for playoffs. He needs more time on the floor in real-game situations. You can throw away this game. It’s not competitive.

I think Lamb is getting a raw deal. He played well on the court but still gets very limited minutes. He plays well with Lin (except for the missed oops)

  • kauaiblue

Its so fun… i used to stress myself rushing home to watch games… my friends would roll their eyes… now, drinking, eating, hanging out is awesome!

  • Linzen

    Exactly! Snake can’t stand up!

  • Weifang

I admire you perseverance… I gave up way early in the season.

  • kauaiblue

Oh no, im with you… i just softened my language bc i didnt want to get banned… lol

  • kauaiblue

    Cool… i will too…

  • james brown

well he’s passing the ball and playing teamball, so its ok

  • your son’s voltaire

if we all tweet right at the same time, we’d achieve an unexpected positive result.. the server will become overloaded and shut down. protest complete!

  • Linzen

Don’t worry, I think all the mods are with us. hahaha

  • LinMad

i think we need to trend something like #NBARacist2Asians

  • kauaiblue

Trying to think positively, if this team does get to playoffs, anyone think jlin will be used properly?

  • adele

I despise this team long before.

  • kauaiblue

    Ok

  • LinMad

doubt it. It would require MJ to intervene cause Cliff coaches based on emotions

  • kauaiblue

    Lol

  • LinMad

I miss Lin and Chandler alley oops

  • adele

Getting early stats for next years asg which will be held in Charlotte

  • kauaiblue

Tonights blatant no calls r in retaliation for speaking up about oscars…

  • james brown

you are reading cliffs mind that well .

  • adele

    Nope.

  • kauaiblue

That was beautiful to watch. But some couldnt handle it.

  • LinMad

I bet you that black ref is friend/fan of Chris Rock

  • your son’s voltaire

Tyson, right? if Parsons, then there’s no alley, only oops!

  • LinMad

    “someone”

  • Joe what do you know

    LOL!

  • james brown

they are not using JLIN now as he should be used, so what make us think that they will change their mind later, plus it seems cliffs too high on LEE right now.

  • LinMad

    ya Tyson

  • kauaiblue

I guarantee the refs were told to screw jlin bc he spoke up. Im so tired of this. We gotta starting taking things to the courts. If your bosses r not promoting you, talk to a lawyer. No more being quiet!

  • kauaiblue

    Lol

  • Linzen

These losers can only WANT to be friends with Chris Rock.

  • kauaiblue

Well, if clifford and jordan want to win!

  • Weifang

    absolutely NO NO NO

  • Linzen

Okay I will try to think positive…
    .
    .
    .
    sorry I can’t! lol

  • heart

Guys/gals, I’m turning off. We’ll watch highlight later if any. So sad and upset for Lin…

  • kauaiblue

I stopped in 1st qtr. Watching auper tuesday. I cant believe trump is winnimg.

  • Weifang

rephrase it – I am positive that won’t happen.

  • kauaiblue

    Lol… me too

  • kauaiblue

    Lol

  • Lee got his 3rd foul on offensive foul but still played.
Hornets definitely is giving him a lot of PT with starters

  • LinMad

    YAWNsssssssssssssssssssssss

  • LinMad

I think MJ is half asleep too

  • sws94

He’s new and they want him more comfortable in the system. I think Lee looks like he’s forcing it. And he’s not really an automatic shooter either. He shoots ok, but no better than other perimeter shooters on the team.

  • grover chang

Please God protect Lin and take care of those who try to harm him.

  • Alain Gervais

    Don’t fight racism with racism

  • kittyhead

    Clifford’s another son-in-law

  • LinMad

I would like it if Taiwanese/Chinese and American Lin fans cancel their tickets cause I really don’t see anymore good games with Lin in the future on this team. Cliff is asking Lin to do really well with limited minutes and limited touches.

  • Weifang

I do have my reasons. I noticed those stars are actually protected even more in playoffs. Regular season, Lin can go off here an there because who would watch Hornets anyway. But playoffs, Lin will be even more restrained from doing crazy things – like teamball or 20 some points.

  • your son’s voltaire

whenever Lin gets his 2nd foul he immediately gets yanked, not to return til late in the 3rd quarter. “oh, but clifford was just protecting Lin” they say. haha

  • sws94

Not much to see this game. I’m writing it off so far. Unless Phoenix goes on a big run, there will be a little bit of Lin and then the 3rd stringers sometime in the 4th. Obvious now to me Cliff is running Lee out there to get PT with the starters so that’s what I expect to see the most of.

  • kauaiblue

Someone please find a way to tell them!

  • Promo Sports World

Jeremy has the worst agents…..I can only hope Jeremy goes to an uptempo team that has 20-25 mins for him

  • LinMad

Cliff’s system only works against bad teams.

  • Joe what do you know

Yes, he is not giving Lin a fair go…. which is what we Aussies value very much…. So, not cool at all…

  • cdblue10

    good day folks

  • Jim

    still no Lin

  • your son’s voltaire

i’m not even watching the game anymore. just watching out for Dorothy’s “222222!” or “333333!” posts here

  • Even for bad teams, it’s 50-50

They lost the last Suns game

  • JJ Hui

The dirty referees, are you American Citizen? No foul calls for Jeremy Lin even he got wacked on his head?
No calls on many fouls and flagrant fouls too????
Where is the justice for all?????

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

  • Jim

So every new player gets extended PT but Lin hmmm

  • Jim

    Americans support Donald Trump
I have no faith in american citizens at all

  • james brown

the way they are using now, they are thinking that they will win even without Lin, thats why the props for LEE….so no changes later except if KW injured (so insurance is only JLINs use with the team.

  • sws94

New player is why. Lamb isn’t getting any playing time. Lee is being played a lot to acclimate to the new team in my opinion.

  • WIN

It is fine for whatever they do. Cuz to me Lin is star player no matter what NBA do to him. I can still watch him play if he plays in China or Taiwan or another other league.

  • Lefon Jang

we might see the new point guard tonight

  • Jim

I think they need to win a couple more games
They havent secured the play off spot yet

  • definitely a different treatment.
If Lin is going to play only 20-25min, he can use up his 6 fouls quickly

  • your son’s voltaire

exactly, and it’s not like Lin has a history of fouling out

  • Acbc

You really have to stop making excuses for Clifford. You’re not making many friends while everyone is upset with this rotten coach.

  • DX

Like this game, would rather Lin sit out.

  • NONONO

no. Clifford wants to pad stats for Kemba and Batum

  • Hornets FO also wants to look good in trading Lee for PJ & BRoberts

  • sws94

They are up big. This one they’d have to really choke to lose, lol.

  • sws94

Chill please. Really. I think this is why they are doing it and I’m not here to fight people.

  • Sophie Paris

No Lin=Boring. I might just end falling asleep before he comes back to play.

  • LinMad

Cliff is probably going to sit Lin when he sits KW and then just put in the 3rd stringers. Lin will be lucky to get 12 mins

  • sws94

I belong here just as much as anyone here. Diversity of ideas is good for the Lin fan family.

  • Lefon Jang

wow lin on the fast break kemba looked the other way

  • LinMad

Lin pokes the ball out, doesn’t get to touch it after

  • KL

The refs be like “You wanna complain about prejudice? Let me show you REAL PREJUDICE!”

  • Jim

    Lin getting ignred so hard

  • gandychan

it really looks like lin is being frozen out by everyone. wow.

  • Sophie Paris

    Not a good night

  • Lefon Jang

Al finally kicked out but to Lamp instead of Lin

  • sws94

Not all. But this isn’t a political site.

  • gandychan

batum and walker had to play all of 3rd quarter to get theirs since they will probably not come back into the game. Can Lin even get garbage minutes or does it go to Gutierrez

  • Joe what do you know

Not a nice thing to say… Anyone is allowed here as long as they follow the forum rules. He has his opinion, you can agree to disagree. No need to resort to personal attacks.

  • your son’s voltaire

the 4 out, 1 in strategy is so bad when the 1 in is Big Al who almost never passes it out

  • sws94

Cliff is reckless with Kemba’s minutes because there is no good reason for him to be playing so many. Now that Lee is sitting, Kemba could sit too and for the rest of the game. This may come back to bite Clifford with Kemba getting injured running him so many unnecessary minutes.

  • JT

    two things need to happen.
    1. Hornets need to trade Lin. This is not working, they are clearly biased against him.
    2. Lin needs to fire his shooting coach

  • your son’s voltaire

    that’s clifford’s poke-and-hide play. he’s got a lot of experience with it

  • NONONO

Clifford has cutting Lin’s pg time by keeping Kemba with him all the time

  • Cliff treats Kemba like BScott does with Kobe

  • DX

Hope Hornets get into the playoff and let the top teams beat them up.

  • Lefon Jang

    Lin got fouled. shooting

  • sws94

I don’t think it has anything to do with Lin. I think he’s just overusing him.

  • gandychan

all arm. can’t not call a foul. lol

  • your son’s voltaire

no trades, he’s stuck til the off season when he can sign with a different team

  • sws94

    Yeah.

  • Yesss.. JLin made 2 FTs!

  • DaBoss

Off topic – just got home and League Pass not working. Anyone else having problems?

  • NONONO

    why lin gave up 3?

  • LinMad

Lin trying to create his own buckets now

  • Lefon Jang

This is like an all star game!

  • your son’s voltaire

i don’t care if Lin misses 10 straight shots, keep shooting!

  • your son’s voltaire

    Lin has 2 blocks? sweet

  • Lefon Jang

nice kicked out by Lin to Troy

  • sws94

That’s nice, Lin. Got away from the defender so easy. And Daniels has to play. He can flat out shoot.

  • LinMad

all of the sudden the game became more exciting and the game was already over lol

  • Joe what do you know

If Cliff pulls Lin out this quarter and put Kemba in again, he’ll be sorry he was ever born…. seriously…

  • Lefon Jang

you might not clear security next time you go to hornets game

  • That’s a beautiful team-ball

  • gandychan

lin is playing like he’s playing for his basketball career.

  • gandychan

    no more lin

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin done for the day

  • james brown

if he sees JLIn as his PG too, he will not give KW so much time, but its not!

  • Alain Gervais

Its a bit risky for a playoff team to have him out there. Sucks for his stats tho

  • Lefon Jang

    Garbage time! new pg in.

  • Promo Sports World

Can’t be mad about this game

    Suns suck

Lee gets too many minutes he is a avg player but a great bench guy nothing special

  • gandychan

I think they are gearing gutierrez to take up the backup point guard spot after Lin leaves next year.

  • Jim

Lin needs to leave this team asap

  • Promo Sports World

    No way

  • james brown

every chance there is for Lin..-cliff

  • NONONO

Clifford just does not want give Lin any chance

  • They might say it’s a back-to-back game vs 76ers tomorrow but playing JLin for 17 min is a travesty.

  • sws94

There are 24 or so more games and then playoffs and then we’ll see. But I think there are more Linsanity games to come. I really do.

  • NONONO

    good for them.

  • Lefon Jang

I think so too. Tonight is a sleeper for lin

  • DX

Only 17 min. Fortunately, there is another game tomorrow.

  • Rick Johnson

Lin needs to rest to try out for his new team tomorrow.

  • Jim

I dont see it at all
He doesnt get to touch the ball much to begin with
He might not start but if hes gonna be a back go to a contending team and play ur 20mpg and win some more

  • Lefon Jang

They better showcase him in front of MDA tomorrow!

  • hopefully Clifford lets JLin to play well for his good friend MDA

  • LinMad

    MDA reunite tomorrow

  • Alain Gervais

That was by design. Game tomorrow . Games like this sucks for bench players

  • sws94

Each game is different. Last game he had touches and a good game in 21 minutes. And I think he’ll get more minutes the last 5 or so games of the season.

  • sws94

This game was a bore. Not even thinking about the minutes tonight. It’s the close games that matter more.

  • Alain Gervais

Today was a rest game. RELAX….. Lin plays from the bech so his minutes during blow outs will be the most effected. We are in the sixth seed. Lin in the playoffs is what I’m waiting for. Thats when the true stars show up. The next 24 games are just the previews. Hope he gets his stats to 12 ppg. Next year for sure he must take a clear shot at starting over anything. Or join what every team Danton is on

  • Jim

76ers tomorrow another blow out game
Lin is definitely better than Lee
there’s no way he should play less minutes than him he shouldn’t be happy cheering for his dumb teammates from the bench

  • DaBoss

That’s the problem – its a Lin FAN site but your posts don’t seem to reflect that. You can call it diversity of opinion, but it is more like you seem to think your opinion is always the right one.

  • Jim

I don’t know if he can still find a team that starts him but he can definitely be a 6th man else where

  • leeda harun

At this time, just hope Lin stays healthy and be ready when his number is called.

  • sws94

I don’t think the D’Antoni thing is a big probability. I don’t even know if D’Antoni will be a head coach next year or not. I think, Lin’s lack of a post-ASB run is disappointing so far. This game is a write-off but I was hoping for a string of strong games from Lin and so far it hasn’t happened. He has more work to do this season and not many games left.

  • Alain Gervais

Maybe a more consistent six man role. Lin has been Bench player/ 6th man hybrid all year

  • Joe what do you know

If I ever go to NC, it’ll be for golf instead of NBA…

  • sws94

Oh stop it. It’s not a bash Clifford site and that’s goes on here from some and why someone like Acbc got so annoyed with me. And if I differ, I do. Show me a post where I say bad things about Lin. I think he’s doing relatively well and have said that over and over and over here.

  • Alain Gervais

He would start in Philly. Idk if he would want to go there. Danton is a assistant which is close enough

  • takemeback2reaganyears

LOL. I don’t want it to stop.

  • kauaiblue

Agreed. He has the clout to say something but he wont. Dont understand this. He is a good role model butni wouldnt want my kid cheering people who r cheating them.

  • BobbyH

Better yet, it is showcased by its hideous star.

  • sws94

There is no talk of Lin there. I looked at their press and it is all about Okafor vs. Noel, if they’ll get Simmons or not, not even that much mention of MDA. I saw nothing about Lin for PG or any desires for that from their fanbase or media.

Of course, Lin could go there. But then we’re guessing Lin’s moves and I’m just going to observe this time as the Charlotte move was a huge surprise to me and I think most of Lin’s fans.

  • Jim

For sure he can get that else where
spurs heat dallas rockets okc pistons pacers nets wolves etc..

  • Jim

this team needs Lin so he can throw a tantrum and get what he wants

  • LinMad

    lol

  • Alain Gervais

Yea Lin has his own mind. He tends to choose the out of left field pick.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

“Lin’s lack of a post-ASB run is disappointing so far….”

The saddest thing is you STILL praise that GD coach.

  • heart

Cliff might not want to give Lin minutes for that very fact that he’s MDA good friend/former assistant, just to show that he’s now the head coach and MDA is not. However, if MDA’s offense gets the upper hand tomorrow against Cliff’s team, then maybe Cliff will give Lin some PT to rescue the deficit. OTH, 76rs are out of playoff contention so players’ spirits and motivation are down. There’s nothing to play for except for stat padding. And if 76rs players are not up to it, then it’s pad stating for KW & NB like today’s game. It will be like this even in playoffs if they make it.

  • sws94

    Sometimes, yes, lol.

  • DaBoss

Oh stop it?? Its exactly this type of way that you write your posts that is inflammatory. Try making your points without acting like a know-it-all and maybe people will listen more – that’s what you want, correct?

  • Alain Gervais

That would officially take starting out of his career. He is already 27. A 3-5 year contract as a six man would likely kill starting

  • Jim

the wolves are looking for a PG who can shoot better for next season….
also, memphis can use a 6th man …hmmm

  • your son’s voltaire

    that’ll show em, Melo

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Can someone tell Clifford to sit his a.. down?

  • DaBoss

And its not “bashing Clifford” as you call it – we are expressing our opinions just like you.

  • your son’s voltaire

the Sixers are in desperate need of a starting PG, Lin fits the bill

  • Alain Gervais

I think no matter what Lin wants to start. He will not sign a long term contract because he is 27

  • Alain Gervais

    unless he is the starter

  • Jim

they seem pretty content with ish smith but i dont know if they will go for Lin

  • Joe what do you know

Wolves would be good just to be able to play with Towns…. Not too sure about Wiggins though. I’m not familiar with his game.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

“I don’t think the D’Antoni thing is a big probability”

So what possibility is Ginobili will retire and Lin will join the Hornets?

  • Jim

but wiggins and lavine will take all the shots from him

  • sws94

Who are you and why are you going on and on? I didn’t say someone should be banned yet you are badgering me. Right. Some posters here need to chill regarding me.

  • james brown

yeah content with ish and still tried to trade him?

  • your son’s voltaire

at first they were, but then they attempted to trade for Schroder and pay him max

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin’s agent better have a plan going on while Lin will be in Philly tonight. July is just around the corner.

  • Jim

i think they will go for it if they can get a better PG just not sure if they view Lin as an upgrade to Ish

  • golfhacker

Hmmmm, Tyson Chandler left the court without greeting Jeremy after the game. Just saying.

  • sws94

Problem is, Lin has started and been moved to the bench twice. So, it is better to get the few years and options. But, I still hope to see Lin put 4 or 5 good shooting, confident looking games together before season’s end. I still think it’s possible.

  • Jim

    smh so dumb
if Lin goes there, thats great
    noel is good

  • sws94

My feeling is they are looking for a long-term PG no older than 24.

  • james brown

MDA does not think JLIN is an upgrade? then better for JLIn to get out of NBA for he has no business playing there if that is an argument!

  • your son’s voltaire

Noel. i’m more interested in Okafor because he likes the PnR game

  • DaBoss

There is no reason for me or any one else who is a Lin supporter to be banned from this site. I am not badgering you – just pointing out how you could improve on communicating your differences of opinion without antagonizing those of us who fully support Lin.

  • Jim

He has proven to be useless over and over again
He got Lin a 2mil/yr Lin is almost at his physical peak and has proven to be serviceable 2mil/yr you are kidding me!
    hes useless!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

The only thing that change from now to the end of the season is Cliff needs Lin so bad and no choice.

  • Jim

Okafor is talented but he seems to be distracted off court and cares way too much about his own stats

  • Jim

    that too

  • takemeback2reaganyears

We do not know what was in the situation room then but let talk about the future.

  • heart

Guys/gals, if Hornets stays at 6th spot to match up w/ Boston Celtics, I have confidence that Brad Stevens will out coach Cliff.

  • sws94

MDA is not the coach. And there are a lot of people involved in the decision. We have to remember MDA is not the coach.

  • Jim

MDA is just an assistant coach he does not make important decisions
and he hasnt said anythinf yet so nobody knows

  • golfhacker

Sixers need a leader. Jeremy fits that bill on and off the court.

  • sws94

Has some maturing to do. He’s a very talented player and probably someone they can build around from a business standpoint. He’d be Philly’s all-star.

  • Jim

I dont trust him but I know the grizzlies wanted him for 15mil/3yrs

  • james brown

even he’s not the coach, but they are the think tank of the sixers right now and he was put in there to have a semblance of order..he is not a yeas man person and his clout there is big> coach does not determine who will join the team, its the Fo and MDA is part of it right now, whether you believe it or not!

  • sws94

But who is deciding J Lin? Haven’t heard anyone other than people on J Lin forums deciding that. That’s why I have problems thinking it’s really something that’s on most Philly fans/media minds. Now the FO is another thing.

  • Jim

easily clifford is incompetent brad is smart

  • Jim

I’d take KAT over him any day
and he needs a great organization to back him up
76ers are a toxic environment for him

  • sws94

He’s an associate coach, similar position to Ewing perhaps. There is the FO and VP Calangelo but the whole notion of MDA and Lin reunion is not something I’m seeing outside of 2 Lin fan forums to be honest. I’m not saying it is impossible, I just see no considerations for it from that area.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin was still the final call. Hope they will learn from mistake.

  • sws94

James, is he even staying in Philadelphia? His grand plan may be he stays one more season and then takes a head coaching job somewhere else. I don’t know why I think that, but I think it is a possibility.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He hasn’t proven leading a team, Lin did.

  • sws94

    And no option, right?

  • Joe what do you know

What an unexciting game…. Back to my horology sites….

  • Jim

    for 2 weeks during linsanity?

  • DX

Hope so, 25 minutes is luxury for Lin.

  • sws94

I like KAT also. But I see talent in Okafor. And he’s probably better somewhere else but he’s the closest thing they have to a draw I would think. Unless they get Simmons, but that’s a big if.

  • james brown

by your word, just because he’s not saying anything means that he’s not thinking about JLIN? ok you like a coach who says, “ILIKE JEREMY LIN, i really do-BS”, or “Cliff- i know the game of JLIN” ….

MDA doesn’t need to say anything anymore regarding Jlin. Jeremy himself said in numerous times he has an open communication with the coach MDA…

  • Jim

    nope
I’m not saying thats a better deal cuz its not but memphis are a good team
    maybe next year

  • sws94

and then it was all losing causing the departure of D’Antoni. It was a blip on the screen. But a real great time and accomplishment for Lin nonetheless.

  • james brown

we don’t know that also..coangelo is making his stride right now together with MDA..this is a done season for them and no need for MDA to get what is obvious later.

  • Jim

If they get simmons, i will proudly wear my Iverson Jersey every day to support the sixers but they need to promise Okafor they are trying to win and make the play offs Okafor needs to be relevant

  • sws94

I don’t like their style of play or personnel. I don’t know. Lin needs a good PnR guy, a Daniels like shooter, and an athletic guy that can receive his lobs and he’s in business. Also a lot of transitional ball. Lin does OK in the half court, but his game is the transition and motion game. Faster paced. I’m not sure which team fits that bill and aren’t bad teams. Or what direction Lin will choose to go in.

  • Jim

I’m just saying we dont know and its not a gurantee he will go after Lin
just because they commnunicate doesnt mean they are trying to reunite

  • sws94

Total waste of time really. I hope Philly plays the Hornets well tomorrow and Lin plays more. This game was a big yawn.

  • Jim

it was but he has to convince the 76ers that he can not us
and i dont know if thats good enough for them

  • golfhacker

Tell me which PG under 25 in the league right now you would trust to lead the Sixers. Someone feasible, so don’t say Steph Curry.

  • sws94

I’m not for a D’Antoni reunion. I’ll take it if Lin wants it of course. But I think you don’t catch magic twice and there is possibility of a big disappointment were it to happen. I’m for Lin just getting to be on a winning team and playing his game, however that comes about. Just not worry about minutes or anything else, knowing he’ll be in there and involved in the game when he’s in.

  • james brown

He was brought in by coangelo as an orderly regarding sixers mess..almost right after their appointment, words fly that head coach being axed, but good thing they let it simmer to avoid another mess this season..well see later (next season) what happen but my hunch is MDA will stay as Head coach of that team!

everything is possible right now with JLIN

  • sws94

Coangelo’s position is way higher than MDA’s. MDA’s position isn’t that high. How much influence he has, idk. But I think, overall, 76ers are a distant possibility vs. a likely one. That’s just my read and feel of it. Not worth that much. Yours is just as valid.

  • sws94

I think of it as one possibility. But I never get too excited about one thing with so many things unknown at this time whoever the team/coach is. I look for 1st preference, 2nd, 3rd and then settle for 4th or 5th. And Lin’s preferences are probably way different, lol.

  • sws94

I don’t know. I haven’t thought of it. Just of the opinion that since they have interest in Schroeder and seeing how he plays I think they want someone that age range with those playing attributes and will develop him.

  • james brown

but we see the possibilities, isn’t it? just like the words of MDA last time ” JLIn and i missed the reunion at lakers”….

heres a hungry coach who seems want to prove something and a player who NBA seems doesn’t want to shine..great story to follow, and i will.

    LOL

  • sws94

    Agree.

  • sws94

The last thing I care is about your opinion of how I communicate. I do just fine with other members of many boards. And I couldn’t care less what you think.

  • james brown

I did’nt say i guarantee it, well i always say a possibility.. rather than dismissing what is a probability.

  • sws94

Yes, they did and that’s a fact. But doesn’t mean that Lin is his only PG he’d ever want or people that will make the decision in an organization looking at the age and development of their squad will choose Lin. And he still is the associate, not head coach to boot.

  • james brown

who says about being excited???everything that JLIn brings to the court is EXCITEMENT to his followers, if someone still doesn’t know it!

  • james brown

good for you and its ok for me if you don’t see it that way..

  • DaBoss

Very civil reply. Perhaps you should spend all your time posting on those other boards.

  • sws94

    Don’t understand?

  • Jim

true but i hope Lin goes to a team where MDA is the headcoach and the team is trying to win

  • sws94

Excited in the sense of saying this is the one. For me it is maybe this, this or that. But I always stay sober because things can pan out in ways unexpected both positively and negatively.

  • Maknusia

ok guys…both of you have taken enough bandwidth arguing how your opinion is perceived. Please put it to rest…and lets move on @DaBoss:disqus …thanks

  • sws94

THanks. And I’m sorry to be so harsh but I felt a firm tone was needed. I don’t like communicating like this and will try not to in the future.

  • DaBoss

I think you should also be warning sws94 as well

  • Maknusia

agree…its gonna be tough against Boston unless CC changes his rotation plans

  • sws94

“Guys, both of you.” And you persisted so he was right in asking you to move on. I handled you poorly but I needed to handle you so maybe let’s avoid each other in the future.

  • DaBoss

    oh ok – I just saw @daboss

  • sws94

I think that’s not very likely. I think Boston’s Stevens has Cliff’s number. Hornets are better off against Toronto.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

They saved the Knicks season and brought them to playoff.

Making The Playoff Is All Matter If You’re Not Contender.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Everyboby is looking to improve their PG position.

  • james brown

but all of our statements here are just by passing of events still? we don’t closed our point right now because we are not the decision makers, so whose excited about all of this things, i am just answering point raised as i see fit, pointing things that i thought can shed light unto this conversation..and if i bring in a feelings of “excitements” on this topic is simple because the Possibilities are endless and one of it is the truth, and maybe, i am touching it right now? LOL

  • golfhacker

I guess my point is, the Sixers have enough players to develop. Okafor, Noel, plus the likely #1 pick in the draft, not to mention Embiid, if he ever gets healthy. All these young players coming out of college after 1 or 2 years just want to score points. Jeremy would rather set up teammates for easy baskets, so he would have the pieces in place in Philly. Everyone gets easier shots (and presumably gets their share of points). Everyone is happy. I think I am an objective Lin fan and offer my critiques of Jeremy now and then, but I believe if Jeremy becomes the starting PG in Philly (w/ MDA in some capacity) the Sixers could win at least 30 games next year. Quite an improvement.

  • grover chang

I learned one thing tonight. If the rest of the nba played like the Sun’s, then the Hornets do not need Jeremy Lin.

  • grover chang

That is more fact then opinion.

  • Maknusia

    lol 😉

  • sws94

For sure. 30 games is an improvement. Would Lin be happy with that? I don’t know.

  • grover chang

But not the ball. Lavine being groomed to be a sg, not a point guard. The alley oops on a Lin wolves team would be linsane.

  • Maknusia

As of today, they will be playing Celtics…

  • sws94

    Oh-oh!

  • grover chang

LOL. Is it April 6th yet!

  • golfhacker

They’d be headed in the right direction. Surely you can’t expect a total turnaround in one year. The following year, playoffs…and then 🙂

  • GameWatcher

Its obvious the SUN joined the tanking brigade. It was a boring game with no cause for motivation.

  • sws94

Well, I don’t know if Lin will want to count on the development of the team for these very important years playing in the NBA. We’ll see.

  • Hornets is 0-2 vs Celtics.
It might be 1-4 or a sweep in a playoff series because Celtics plays teamball-style

  • PPP

    As such:

    1. Lin will be DNP – CD the rest of the season,
    2. No team will offer him a contract,
    3. Lin better off playing for the Sharks, or
    4. joining his little bro to play in TW.

God has a plan, an awful one.

    LOLLLL

  • Acbc

So much for Clifford promising enough minutes to 9 key players. I guess he forgot he promised Lin PT for dollars.

  • PPP

Actually, did not watch the game. Hows his defense, anyone?

  • MEL LIN

    1.) No calls.
    2.) Teammates ignoring him.
3.) Cliff won’t let him stay long unlike Kemba
4.) Jlin needs to GTFO of hornets

  • BobbyH

How do you know they are correct? The future is yet to unfold. PPP, we know nothing.

  • Maknusia

comeon…that was with pun intended 😉

  • leeda harun

No one knows the future. So many predictions but for me I am rooting and supporting lin forever.

  • blubell
  • takemeback2reaganyears

This the term I have been looking for, promise PT for dollars.

  • kauaiblue

I actually dont like the rah rah thing he does when he gets treated so poorly… its ok to fake it but he goes overboard…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I vote for a sweep in a playoff series unless suddenly Cliff becomes crazy and uses JLin a little right. That’s how much I trust Cliff this day.

  • PPP

    Hey…..lol

  • leeda harun

well if he is sulking still no one cares.Look at ty lawson.

  • cdblue10

Nothing to see for Lin on this season,if they make the playoff I’ll watch and still cheer for him but I don’t expect that he will be an important piece on Clifford’s rotation,he’s an after thought after that Cleveland’s game.I’ll give it to Clifford he’s very good on how to feature Walker and Batum to marginalized Lin even if he still playing some minutes, very clever.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Charlotte expected to win but how bad the Suns were, no one could have thought.

  • The desperation to use Lin might be our last hope

  • TTNN

I don’t think you need much defense in this game anyway. But he was okay, had two blocks. Though one of it I would call steal but I’m okay with blocks.

  • DaBoss

Its more like no PT for no $$ 🙁

  • TTNN

    gosh, that’s too much.

  • TTNN

NO CALLS is the main thing. His TO and miss shots were mostly no calls.

Also he had no bounce, that’s pretty obvious, he could have some speed in straight line, but not as good in change directions and totally no explosion under the rim, he basically had no elevation. I don’t think he is 100% there.

  • Maknusia

GSW without Curry today…up by 11 now…DGreen has 7 AST by halftime!

  • Acbc

    Lol, so true

  • And the Melo-drama continues.

Carmelo Anthony tells heckler to get a refund from James Dolan after the Knicks loses again.
    https://twitter.com/SBNation/status/704883927140458496

  • MEL LIN

Yes, noticed that too, maybe that ankle still hurting

  • DX
  • DX

Wait a moment will see HD.

  • PPP

    Ahh…thanks.

  • TTNN

I don’t know….. hopefully he will recover soon

  • PPP

    See the “LOL”?

    I like your posts, btw.

  • your son’s voltaire

since i’m skipping the replay tonight, i’m spending my time listening to Robin Lundberg’s podcast instead. got a good laugh listening to him read Melo’s tweet (in response to Amare’s statements) while playing the Titanic soundtrack

    http://espn.go.com/espnradio/losangeles/play?id=14875134&s=la

  • Acbc

We may yet see DNP-CD like other posters have said. I wouldn’t put it pass Clifford. “It’s not personal” lol, it’s business. Cho and Clifford are already preparing for fans to accept Lin’s departure. If they can prove the team can win without Lin, they can make Lin a non issue in the off season. Fans won’t be as upset if they can prove Lin is useless.

My prediction is that this will go on till last 10 games of the season, even if they lose like last game against Hawks. As long as they can make the playoffs, losing a few games won’t matter. Cho and Clifford is preventing a backlash by fans who’ve obviously come to like Lin’s game a lot. It will be no easy task to get rid of Lin without backlash.

What will happen though is that just like Mchale with Lin that first year in Houston. No one expected Rox to make the playoffs but Lin and Harden were the dynamic duo that year. Gradually it became Harden’s team and they were 1 game away from being in 6th place. Harden choked as did Mchale and just as previous year with Lowrey when Mchale coached them out of the playoffs, the team was staggering into the end of the season again. Lin save the season with a brilliant game against Clippers when Harden suddenly became injured after being benched by Mchale for choking under pressure.

I fully expect Clifford and Kemba to start choking as the season come to the end when every game will determine whether they make it into the playoffs again. Lin will finally get some PT and even start when Kemba pulls up lame mysteriously like the game against the Cavs. Lin will push them into 8th place but will sit on the end of the bench during the playoffs just like Houston.

  • blubell
  • Jeffrey Ludell

I think Parsons and/or Asik were more of a dynamic duo along with Harden… Lin was 4th in win shares behind these three.

  • TTNN

For the highlight, and trying to play is slow speed and really Lin got no calls today. This is Lin’s last shot, it is obviously the opponents were blocking the shot totally across Lin’s fore arm, and the judge was standing right there, and swallow the whistle. Just horrible.

There are other shots Lin drive in, and the opponent just bump him horizontally, totally not fit vertical rule, and Lin just got no call.

  • Acbc

Both Parsons and Asik were well fed by Lin to make them look good beside Harden. Lin was already being pushed aside by Mchale to promote Beverley. Without Lin Rox may never have even make the playoffs.

  • heart

At this stage, we can see so clearly that Cliff is imitating Rox/McHale to rear up or to fabricate false ‘stars’. It will eventually turn out ugly. Their egos will take over eventually and will come back to bite him. Guess what had happened to McHale…

  • Jim

Yah Chris Rock was tasteless not just the asian jokes not fit for the Oscar
Should have let people like Ben Stiller, John Oliver and Ricky Gervais

  • Jim

    Not Cho just Clifford

  • grover chang

“preparing for fans to accept Lin’s departure.” I’m not sure if everyone in the organization are on the same page. What is the point of giving away free Lin bobble heads on march 12th if you want him out of here.

  • Jim

    Every team does that
they let their stars get theirs not just the rox and hornets
GSW, SPurs but they are too good it doesnt look bad

  • grover chang

Forget this game. For true basketball GSW vs ATL game is now in OT.

  • Jim

    His stats are inflated
Surrounded by good shooters of course his apg will go up

  • grover chang

Or maybe those two teams are the champions because they DONT just have their stars get theirs and so they look so good.

  • Maknusia

DGreen was good at moving the ball and distributing well till halftime then it stalled….KT is cold today…nothing seems to be going his way…Hawks are playing well

  • Dorothy

Well, go back to Clutch to sing the praise of Harden.
This is a Lin fan site.

  • Jim

they are champions because they have too many stars and they all get theirs

  • heart

Get rid of stocks as much as possible while he’s on the Hornets team, especially when Lin will be playing against his former team.

  • grover chang

When Lin is in charge of the basketball and makes sure everyone gets some then players around him get paid like stars.

  • Maknusia

That was a huge 3 from Green!…they are taking it home

  • Acbc

Don’t mistake taking advantage of Lin for promotion as promoting Lin the player. Why do you see Lin’s face plaster all over game promos but let their stars dominate play?

  • Maknusia

    valid point!

  • Acbc

IMO, it’s Cho who must have Kemba, Batum and even Lee shine. Clifford gets famous by how many games he wins. Cho gets famous for selecting the best players, that’s why Kemba and Batum must shine.

  • grover chang

I don’t question the marginalization. There just seems to be a disconnect between promoting a player so much in advertisements but not promote him on the court. That’s why it seems like the whole organization is not on the same page.

  • grover chang

Cho also selected Lin. If Lin does well then Cho looks good and looks even better that he did it at a bargain. Why does that not enter in the equation of Cho as a general manager?

I know it’s hard to swallow but after awhile maybe it’s something Lin does that rubs his coaches the wrong way. When it’s always the same story but the only character that doesn’t change is Lin… Maybe…..it’s Lin fault his coaches end up hating him?

  • JoeTeam

Again, that was amazing … circus shots and regular focus/tenacity. Nothing like that with KW in control of end-game.

  • Dorothy

FO probably feels Lin fans are suckers, will support Lin no matter how little Lin’s PT is

  • JoeTeam

way off balance shot out of the blue. Makes up for the locker room yelling 🙂

  • grover chang

LOL. Well everything you wrote is true. Call me a sucker.

  • Maknusia

lol…who knows…but it doesnt seem that way….looking at Lin character….he had been classy!

  • Maknusia

Meanwhile DRussell (LAL) has career high with 38pts and winnings against Nets

  • Acbc

Cho wasn’t the one that actually recruited Lin. It was Clifford that spent 5 hours with Lin to convince him to play for Charllete. Batum was CHO’s signing. Lin just fell into his lap.

  • grover chang

IDK know either. But I always remember the crazy person is the one who keeps saying everyone else in the world is crazy. We keep saying every coach that Lin has is mean to him and it’s never Lin’s fault. I don’t want it to be his fault but maybe he is doing something that ruins the relationship.

They say the point guard is an extension of the coach on the floor. Maybe Lin is too smart and caring of teammates for his own good. He becomes too much of a coach on and off the court usurping the head coach. It becomes one of those weird dynamics where the star pupil irritates the instructor because the pupil is smarter then the teacher. I think it is fair to say Lin has been smarter then his last three coaches. Only MDA is not bothered by this. Do we not call Jeremy the “Linstructor.”

  • gandychan

    meanwhile, D’angelo Russell explodes for 39 points…

  • grover chang

C’mon ACBC I’m really trying to have an honest discussion. I’m not trolling. I respect your opinion. As a coach yourself do you every come into a situation where a player will rub you the wrong way and so you start marginalizing him in hindsight. I’m honestly asking you as someone with coaching experience. I believe we all could act beneath ourselves and realize our mistake later.

  • sws94

He’s not the point guard that much with Cliff. He’s Mr. Versatility guard.

I think if coaches have any issues with Lin it would be they think Lin knows better than to make a mistake(s) he repeats. That’s the only thing that makes sense. His work ethic, dedication, locker room presence, leadership not turning to veteran leadership is all spot on.

I don’t think Clifford at all dislikes Lin. Scott just placated Kobe and McHale never liked Lin’s game but Clifford can use Lin so many ways and Lin plays so hard, I think he’s fine with him.

I just think Lin looks to be getting less time because Lee is new. I know that’s not a popular opinion here but that’s what Hornets fans think is standard Cliff operating procedure and nothing against any particular player. That’s what I think is happening. I think Lin will get more, not less, playing time closer to the end of the season as the team prepares for the playoffs. I could be wrong and others right. We’ll see. I hope he does because that’s the most pleasant scenario and the more time Lin plays, the more chances he’ll do well (if he has touches).

  • CJSHYY

This is not good news for Lin. smh!

  • grover chang

That part never made sense to me either. Who spends 5 hours recruiting a free agent and then as the season wears on treats him as an afterthought. What made Clifford change his attitude toward Lin. There is so much inconsistency in how Lin became marginalized this season.

  • your son’s voltaire

nah. clifford has always planned from the very start to have Batum play at the SG and to do that he needed someone like MKG to cover him at the SF spot but since MKG went down, and clifford is so stubborn with his dumb plan, he’s been sticking with it even with PJ and now Lee. he’s always planned for Lin to come off the bench and i don’t think Lin realized this until it’s too late

  • sws94

My opinion is the problem isn’t Lin. It’s Kemba/Lin chemistry. He tried and tried and still tries to get what he envisioned, the Kemba/Lin dynamic duo. Never materialized. So, they go with their guy that’s been there forever and Lin is a wildcard.

we see marginalization. Hornets fans see Lin as a valuable wildcard. It’s all perception because we care very much of Lin’s usage, minutes and touches and they care about him being used to help win games.

  • grover chang

so basically LIn’s current playing time was Clifford’s vision from the beginning but because of injuries he had to use Lin more at the start of the season (PJ sucked). That does fit the usual Lin story, he plays because other people get injured.

  • Rick Johnson

Beats the pitiful Nets and he thinks he’s Steph Curry:

    https://twitter.com/ChrisPalmerNBA/status/704915971652374528

  • Maknusia

we really dont know whats happening behind the scene (locker, practice, strategic play planning, etc)

  • CJSHYY

I don’t like him. Maybe today Lakers tried to show case him for Nets…. ?!

  • your son’s voltaire

pretty much. i think clifford is trying to push his ‘genius’ plan of playing Batum at the SG so that if it works, he’d get the recognition. it’s a me-me-me league and that goes for the coaches, too

  • sport

Yup bigger contract is always better but in Lin’s case I think he wanted a short term contract before the new tv deal started. 3 years for 15 Mil after new TV deal kicks in will be peanuts.

  • JoeTeam

I saw that and thought … well, I’m glad JLin is outta that kind of limelight.

  • Maknusia

    Gotta give credit…he played well

  • JoeTeam

Well. let’s wrote a different script starting with the first playoff game 🙂

  • sport

LOL Fatty Melo suddenly thought he was Lebron.

  • sport

So many doubters regarding when Lin can get a starting role. If Lin hasn’t lost hope yet why should we? Just cause he’s marginalized doesn’t mean he should continue to find a team that will treat him as a legit starting PG.

  • grover chang

Jimmer Fredette’s story has echoes of Lin’s odyssey as well. I like this kid. Rooting for him and hopefully there could be some Jimmersanity in the Knicks near future.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • your son’s voltaire

Lin and Papa Lin flashing ‘W’arriors signs. can’t wait for next season!

  • Whitman Lam

Yeah, that’s even less than Patrick Beverley and Nick Young salary.

  • leeda harun

jimmer is asking for a chance and consistent minutes from his coach.

  • spiderman

Well we can only go by what we know of Lin’s character…. and character of Diepenbrock, Amaker, MDA, Woodson, McHale, Byron Scott and now Clifford (and the other coaches that have worked with Lin). Also Lin’s teammates, friends, family, etc. Surely, Lin definitely does not refer to everyone as crazy, nor does “everyone” refer to Lin as crazy.

Does Lin seem like someone who rubs people the wrong way to you? To me, he comes across as respectful, goofy-humorous, honest, self-controlled, hard-working, bright, humble, thoughtful, caring, kind, with leadership abilities. He doesn’t come across as a smart-alec or too caring or too much of a coach to usurp the head coach. Any teacher worth his or her salt is confident enough to not be irritated by an intelligent pupil.

  • adele

Correct! They thought that even with rockets and lakers marginalization, fans are there to support him so they just followed the style and use him for marketing

  • adele

Seriously? Is this a sarcasm that goes with a punch?

  • adele

True. But to me it’s the whole management.

  • adele

You don’t need to analyze the marginalization of Lin. You saw it in your own eyes and it’s not as if you are not observing smartly? You put some statement about there’s something in Lin that rubs the wrong way to coaches? And you think there’s something wrong with Lin? Maybe the inconsistency is with your belief in being a Lin fan?

  • adele

Since you also don’t know, stop creating confusion among Lin fans. If putting in some statements like “a crazy person thinks everyone else is crazy” and relates it to fans who are blaming Lins coach, you saw it with your own eyes (or you refuse to see and believe) and with proof and basis. Lin is marginalized under mchale, Byron Scott and now under Clifford. It’s unfortunate of Lin and not fair but he persistent and not saying any bad words against these people that put him down. I’m not getting the bad energy you are throwing here and the “crazy” insinuation?

  • adele

Very true. Sometimes when a person points a finger, he is pointing 4 fingers to himself at the same time. Talk about adage and stuff!

  • adele

He is being classy and I guess just doing the right thing. Happiness starts inside. Jealousy and hate can eat you up. Probably the “surrender ” Twitt is our hint. Inner peace and positive outlook. That’s Jeremy Lins signature. We have to embrace that. In this twisted environment, being good is not cool. Bad is cool. But the reason why we are here in this site? The reason why we follow Lin? Is because we still believe that being good is the coolest. We all have choices being bad or good. Every day we are facing those choices. Lin chose well. And everything will just be in its proper place. Hope is still a virtue.

  • adele

But we all know it’s not the case. There are teams like Atlanta, Indiana, thunder, Spurs and all the other strong teams out there. A lot of bad teams also. Somebody has to lose in a game.

  • adele

I would like to throw this message to all Lin fans out there, Lin may not be putting some big stats in his NBA life, but I believe that his other stats are consistent and getting better. I’m referring to other values in life like attitude and personality. Lin has matured as most people are that goes with age increase every year. A lot of people doesn’t believe in him as an NBA player both inside and outside the organization. But we do. What he is experiencing right now is some kind of a “getting through of a bad decision “. He will learn from it and move on but stay hopeful and positive. Sometimes when we watch a movie, the villains are winning. And that makes the movie more exciting because we are hoping that at some point, the right star will come out with victory in the end.

  • your son’s voltaire

i actually felt that Lin rubbed the coaches (mchale & scott) the wrong way by snatching the clipboard and drawing up plays. even though fans may have thought it was awesome and Lin was just trying to win games, coaches see it as undermining their authority which is serious business when you’re an NBA head coach. Lin wised up though, and i’ve never seen him do it this season to clifford. but that was hardly the reason for his mistreatment by any of the coaches

  • Maknusia

Personally, I dont think so…coz….Coaches could have easily told it so….either on the spot or off the court

  • Maknusia

yeah…poor guy was never given a chance in NBA

  • your son’s voltaire

they could have, i guess. but everyone handles these type of things differently. i do believe though that all three coaches planned to marginalized Lin from the very start. clifford trying push his initial starting lineup with Batum as the primary ball distributor playing the SG position. mchale trying to prove to Les Alexander that he was right to cut Lin the first time around. scott owing kobe for his coaching job, plus they are buddies. i also think that coaches stubbornly push their style so that they can get recognition if it becomes successful.. the way that MDA, Don Nelson, Pop, and Phil was

  • Maknusia

maybe Coaches do not have high impression on Lin, hence the little chance they gave, some worked and some not…..could have just been circumstances.
It can only be answered by Lin, hope he releases a book after upon retirement….

  • your son’s voltaire

that’s certainly possible but still doesn’t explain why they’d go away from actual results, numerous times. last season, scott would limit Lin right after he’d play great and won the games for them. he’d also dismantled the bench squad that was destroying everybody. and he’d purposely separated Lin/Ed combination. and then a few games back, and we all saw and expected what happened after Lin dominated the CLE game. to me, these coaches do have high impressions of Lin but simply aren’t allowing him to play his game

  • kauaiblue

Ok, but he can still be good without rah rah stuff…

  • Maknusia

I think, initially they wanted to win, with Kobe’s slump and rookies in place, they wanted to tank…with Lin trying to prove his legit, it seem to be…in the way of their objective, hence the only way to do so was to bench, reduce his minutes

  • leeda harun

Do not have high impression…sigh.. stereotypes..still persist even after 5 years in nba

  • Maknusia

I dont think we could link LAL story to CHA..both different circumstances and environment

  • Maknusia

human like to stereo type…its embedded and how we categorize things.

When I ask you who do you think are the best long distance runners?! What/who comes first to your mind?

  • leeda harun

Some guy from england…white guy. Sebastian coe..lol

  • your son’s voltaire

yes, different teams and circumstances but the example of the two coaches limiting Lin right after great games applies to both

in response to the LAL trying to tank last year, i’ve been arguing against that presumption all year long. coaches and players don’t lose on purpose unless it benefit them greatly. scott doesn’t want a losing record just so that can get a pick that may or may not pan out. he didn’t even use DRussell correctly all season long until just recently. scott was just a very bad coach. the whole tanking thing was a just a convenient excuse for the poor coaching. and i don’t think GM’s/Owners want to impose upon coaches cus it would give them bad rep among other potential coaches

  • leeda harun

I think it is the first time they ever witness a guy that is ultra comppetitive..remember when Lin at Mo william academy…the trainers cant believe how quick and agile and his conditioning is really good

  • leeda harun

Bs thinking of tanking from day 1. That is why he create the running practice routine..so the tired legs will effect the shooting..

  • your son’s voltaire

it became the ‘No-Mo’ Williams academy for you, Jeremy cus we ain’t inviting you No-Mo

  • leeda harun

Of course..lin work hardest…:-).other players not working that hard…lol

  • Maknusia

lol…btw he was a middle distance runner

  • heart

JF’s video set up a similar narrative to the Linsanity Documentary movie narrative. However, the biggest difference between the two players is that JF was drafted 10th in1st Round by Bucks then traded to Kings, but Lin was un-drafted. JF was recruited by 12 schools, while Lin was not given any bb scholarships, only Harvard and Brown guaranteed him a spot. According to Wiki, “JF struggled to adjust to find his game from scorer to role player upon entering the NBA”, while Lin exploded and became one of the highest scorers in the NBA history for his first five start when given an opportunity.

  • your son’s voltaire

well, Lin did survived 2 years of training every day against Harden’s bulldozing offense, and Bev’ throwing his body into you type defense. so he was well conditioned! they probably didn’t expected Lin to be so physical either. they were probably just planning a friendly get together haha

  • Maknusia

lol…that is one theory… but i dont think so…BS just dont know how to coach….as simple as that….furthermore after couple of games, they realized Kobe and the team has nothing, hence the tanking starts

  • leeda harun

yes..how many of us living our childhood dream…lin is living his dream…working hardest…keep on improving..keep on learning..enjoying the bb games

  • KHuang

Lin’s NBA stats are just fine.

Anytime a guy averages only 25 minutes of the bench but is scoring double figures in low touches, that is really impressive.

In Lin’s career, the villains win off the court but not ON the court.

  • KHuang

He’s the best guard on the Knicks, just like he was the best guard on the Kings, Pelicans, Bulls, and entire D League.

Unfortunately, his failed 80s coach Kurt Rambis absolutely hates him. Calls him “pushed around in practice” and singled out Fredette for public criticism after Fredette played one minute and scored a 3 but then got caught in a screen and had a 3 scored on him.

I originally wanted Fredette to be kicked off the Knicks so that Charlotte could team him with Jeremy Lin, but then I realized that Clifford would be absolutely no better to Fredette than the clueless toxic Kurt Rambis (a Byron Scott teammate) is.

In his final Knicks game last night, Fredette scored 4 points in 3 minutes of garbage time.

  • KHuang

Against bad teams where Lin’s team is getting a blowout, the refs ALWAYS target Lin for dirty calls in order to protect the beaten team from embarrassing itself.

  • KHuang

Lin rubs his coaches the wrong way by BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF THE STARTERS in practices and games.

  • KHuang

    That was definitely not it.

Mchale and Scott LET Lin grab those clipboards.

No, Lin schooling Anthony and Harden and Walker and Kobe is why Lin’s coaches hate him.

  • Maknusia

    Agreed…..

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You figured a lot of things here but still refusing to acknowledge Clifford is the number one reason lin has the worst stats, mins and roles since Linsanity.

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

Well articulated, as usual. I agree with your conclusion about what Lin’s basketball situation has been., will be, and currently is. And I agree with your statement of “I don’t know how.” Add to all that – the perception surrounding an Asian American NBA player and JLin’s own words (post-Oscars) that “perception is reality,” and his situation gets even more complicated to figure out. Wouldn’t all NBA teams have “ball-dominant” players? I mean these teams are made up of top basketball handlers and players and play-makers. I want to see JLin in playoff games because the one thing he has proven again and again is that he really does rise to challenges and whereas some people shrink under the bright lights, JLin has consistently brought his mental toughness and X factor to competitive and tough games.

  • Maknusia

    skol!!!…uff-da …wondering where were you…

  • Acbc

In my own coaching, I don’t try to fit everyone into the same box. My opinion is that coaching is a shared experience of both student and teacher working together to bring the best out of that individual. Fundamentally, coaches must always learn from the student as well as teach them. The best coaches recognize the good things the students bring because every once in a while you’ll find a gem that has broken the mold and improved the way the game is played. It’s the kids growing up that “play” in the schoolyards that invent ways to beat the current leaders. The next Stef Curry is building a new game with his imaginary battles in the schoolyards now. They now believe they can shoot 50% from 35ft out.

A coach that doesn’t work with an athlete will preset their own limits on that athlete and push them into limited roles of their own set imagination. A good coach that “learns” from his players responds to their own special potentials and recognizes what talents they bring that could help the coach to be a better coach for others. Each athlete do things differently and how they do it to make themselves successful teaches you to be more able to apply that knowledge to the next set of players to come. It’s a constant learning process because each successive generation will bring new skills with them.

Clifford and the FO are afraid of Lin’s unique skills that renders them useless. Look at the way Lin used the team without Walker. A coach like Clifford doesn’t have a clue how Lin does that. Clifford is simply not smart enough becuase he doesn’t believe in learning from his players what makes them special. It’s this symbiotic relationship with players that allows a good coach to keep getting better and keep adding new understanding of how different types of players can mesh together. Clifford and Cho is using addition to create a scoring system. They don’t know how Lin won against the Cavs without their scoring leader. They proved it again when they lost to the Cavs without Lin. Lin uses chemistry to combine players together. Clifford uses the star system to build a pyramid team. There’s support foundations players then secondary level players and finally top players using the rest of the team to elevate the stars to the top.

Coach Lin intuitively does that type of coaching. He learns a players abilities and their best attributes, then he works with them to build patterns of plays to maximize their potentials. The complexity of meshing 5 guys together requires an attive and pliable mind that is willing to adapt. Bad coaches forces players into wrong positions that don’t suit their games becuase they don’t have the 3 dimensional thinking to think through the multiple permutations of movements that maximizes all player’s potentials. That takes a lot of mental homework.

All the coaches except for MDA were too dumb to challenge Lin’s brilliant mind. MDA was much more self assured as a coach and even he saw something beyond his imagination when he saw Lin’s mind at work. MDA said “sometimes you just have to let them play” becuase he knew Lin was teaching and coaching the team to play the “MDA game plan” in less than 2 weeks better than he could do in a year of walking people through the schemes.

The best defence of Lin as a glue guy player is that while he is on the team and on the floor playing an active role, that team has won. Lin has won whenever the designated star of the team is injured. Linsanity was the perfect example. Whenever, Hardin, Melo, Kobe or Walker is injured, Lin has won games that coaches can’t ever do themselves. Every coach except for MDA were threatened by it because they can’t figure out how to win without their own star players. Every team that Lin has left has fallen apart because they’ve lost that cohesiveness in Lin’s absence.

  • Maknusia

well said…its a proven fact and Jeremy and his college/uni Coaches did mention the same…when the plays against a tougher team…he rises to the challenge

  • KHuang

You need to compare Lin to shooting guards off the bench like Green, not high usage PGs like Delly or Schroeder.

Lin is NOT A POINT GUARD for the Charlotte Hornets, by the numbers or court impact.

  • new 76ers Game Thread
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g60-cha-phi-game-thread/

In a blowout game against Phoenix Suns, Jeremy Lin only played 17 min as there is a second game the next night.
Jeremy tried to drive aggressively to draw Free Throws but it was very odd that the refs did not blow the whistle for 4-5 occasions.

    1. This 76ers game has a potentially great impact for JLin’s off-season to impress a team with Mike D’Antoni as the Associate Head Coach. If JLin plays well, it would certainly be easier to persuade the 76ers Front Office to pursue JLin in the off-season.
    2. Will Jeremy get more than 17-25 min?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray he may seize his chance in limited minutes to contribute with his shooting & scoring to help the Hornets win.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

From your last sentence, who’s responsible for his current position this season?

And why Schroder plays well off the bench? BECAUSE when he’s on the floor, Teague sat his behind down on the bench. While Lin has to deal with Kemba into the 2Q. Whose fault is that?

  • sws94

Schroeder and Teague play together a fair amount from the games I’ve observed. Lin plays guard, sometimes in a 3 guard rotation (if Lee or Batum are considered guards).

  • takemeback2reaganyears

No they rarely do play together. Lin has multiple position specially when he plays D.

  • sws94

They played together quite often earlier in the season. How many Hawk games do you watch?

  • adele

I mean the Linsanity stats Khuang. I’m still hoping and praying that to happen 🙏

  • Michael

Wonder if one of these days he’s going to pose for a camera and let the other team score a layup. He’d probably get an ice in my brains on shaqtin a foo

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    almost all of them.

  • sws94

They play together. They featured the “small” llineup. But, ok.

One of the things that we saw during the post season was Budenholzer pairing Teague and Schroder in the back court. Small ball is really working in the NBA, so much in fact, particular guard lineups have helped teams win the last four NBA finals. The tandem of the two point guards sharing the Atlanta back court looked really good when the team needed a boost.

Schroder gives Budenholzer two ways in which he can hurt teams. Being paired with Teague to keep things flowing, then subbing in for Teague and running the point. The speedy point guard gives the Hawks another dangerous weapon in both the pick & roll and in the pick & pop.

    http://soaringdownsouth.com/2015/06/26/dennis-schroder-thriving-with-the-hawks/

We saw this earlier in the season then Teague started to struggle and coach sat him more. Anyway, as KHuang points out, Lin is not a PG on Charlotte, he’s a guard.

  • grover chang

Thank you for the well thought out post. I’ve been frustrated, upset, and confused as why someone as awesome as Lin on/off the court could be so held back. My purpose for my post was to hear why people think that is. Just explore what the possible reason. What is the truth. I know it is out there. Is it Lin? Is it the teammates? Is it the coach? Is it the GM? Is it the Owner? Is it the NBA? Is it all of the above? Just didn’t want to ignore any possible reason, even if that meant Lin himself is part of the problem.

  • DaBoss

Mods -this is supposed to be a Jeremy Lin fan site but unfortunately there are posters taking over this site who continually promote a narrative that Jeremy Lin should embrace being a backup pg or 6th man. They post even more critical comments about Lin on other sites and then come here with a toned down version lest they are banned. Is this what you wish to allow? I thought this site was created to get away from the negativity of the other Jeremy Lin fan sites. You have lost some very good people who used to post more on this site like Joyce and Wu Kong because of such negativity. I also stopped coming here for awhile because of another poster who was similar in their negativity and who you eventually and correctly banned. Please take action and protect this outstanding site from becoming like the others.

We have arrived at a point so low now in our psyche that we are actually questioning if Lin’s at fault for bringing marginalization down upon himself by every coach he’s had. It’s very annoying to have to listen to certain posters making excuses for Clifford, but to actually hear fans grumble that Lin may actually have brought it down upon himself is a new low.

When victims are being accused of complicity, we are going down a road that brings to mind how I despise the legal system that attacks child abuse or rape victims in court. We want to blame the victim instead of the perp. Why?

Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. We are captives on all these bad teams and we are now starting to defending and identifying with these bad coaches.
Are we attacking Lin because we are finding it easier to look for reason that others want us to believe?

Clifford, BS, Mchale, Woodson are all bad coaches. It’s not Lin, it’s these bad coaches. We will know soon enough next year how bad Clifford is when Lin is gone. A coach that doesn’t work with an athlete will preset their own limits on that athlete and push them into limited roles of their own set imagination. A good coach that “learns” from his players responds to their own special potentials and recognizes what talents they bring that could help the coach to be a better coach for others. Agreed…as I said before…the nba under order from adam silver marginalizing Jlin while mooching off his popularity at the same time…I hope it doesn’t get to the point where they have to resort to physical violence to remove Jlin from the game when they realize their marginalizing game is not working.

  • rookie75094

Evidence of the ongoing racist refs calls or noncall against Jlin… the fact that Jlin has excel in the nba is a slap in the face of the nba from the top to the bottom.
