G58 OKC @LAL Postgame Thread

We do not know why all the sudden BS stopped limiting Lin like he used to do so. It is pointless to discuss what BS is thinking anyway. Lin is on a roll now!! That’s hope this strong showing will lead to a great offer for Lin in the FA.

Guess JLin's stats in Game 59 vs CHA

    LInsanity!

  • Filler-up

    2nd

  • blubell
  • Filler-up

Close to Linsanity. Tried to win it in the 4th but not enough shots were falling for the other guys.

    Did he ask on Twitter?

  • Arsenium12 .

I like this definition (this was from Paul, after the last game) …

  • blubell

Not really sure what this is about…

  • Filler-up

Some please count the number of blown easy assists frm JLin. Don’t iclude the passes for open 18 footers since those are low percentage shots, but include the ones close to rim and the 3 pt attempts.

  • blubell

    basically, playing the right way…

  • blubell

Maybe Christine’s extended highlight will include it. might have to wait couple days though.

  • Brent Yen

Role players play the right way too. He made others play the right way

  • Arsenium12 .
  • Briiick

Well said. I know what he means because when true Linsanity was on display, the whole team, even the audience were insane.

  • blubell

    Contagious.

  • linspiredinla
  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

Because the below FT-line thing never worked so he has to make sure Lin creating on perimeter does not happen either.

  • Briiick

The defense from the BIGs were not very good, making the opponents score too easily.

  • pandaboy99

Scott brooks gave Lin respect buy coaching his team to double at every opportunity.

  • blubell

    Jeremy’s post game interview.

  • linspiredinla
  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

well…also he does not care what Hill was doing anyway…lol

  • golfhacker

The only big who plays defense is Ed Davis. Of course BS doesn’t play him in the 2nd half.

  • Filler-up

That is a very telling response by Lin. We all suspected but it was never explici.
    M

  • blubell

Audio issue towards the end and Jeremy suddenly has a deep low voice. lol.

  • Filler-up

    4q he came to life.

  • linspiredinla
  • karen sy

    funny and scary

  • pandaboy99

Lakers outscored thunder in 2nd and 4th, maybe they should play lin all quarters…

  • Filler-up

You cannot play team ball when Kobe only wants to score, and coach plays iso game. Team ball should never lead to 18 ft jump shots with 10 sec left in shot clock.

  • CJSHYY

See what DJ Augustine playing time for tonight? 41 min? That was a little bit too much.

  • Illbe

Watched this the other day and their analysis of Jeremy’s game and the future was spot on. If he was used correctly in a PnR offense there would be no dissing him again, but alas he has endured ISO systems that prevented consistent Linsanity sightings. Yes, he has developed nicely since 2012, but he still needs the right system to show off his maturity. Hoping next season he will find that system.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Jeremy doesn’t sound nice to the ears with deep voice.

  • pandaboy99

    brooks riding him like secretariat

  • linspiredinla
  • IsabeliJane*17

    Shut up, Bill Oram!

  • CJSHYY

I know Brooks it’s crazy. But Lin should at least to play 30-35 per game. But w 30 will be fine w me.

  • Filler-up

Lin creating from perimeter = Lin passes to Hill for the long two pointer.

  • blubell
  • sws94

LINSANITY!! Crowd was yelling MVP. He definitely is a crowd favorite. I think Jack was there, too bad it wasn’t a W.

  • John Lee

Jeremy is still getting short changed on no calls and phantom fouls, but I see the tide gradually changing recently.

  • linspiredinla
  • CJSHYY

Really? I thought he sold his season tickets?

  • IsabeliJane*17

I’m not yet sold on him since he’s a rookie and not guarded much.

  • John Lee

He wanted to sell his tickets, apparently no takers. No so sure he wants to sell them now after latest round of Tacosanity. πŸ™‚

  • blubell
  • joyce ward
  • John Lee

…or the calls they got cheated out of. Iblocka got away with murder on Lin.

  • blubell
  • joyce ward

I agree. He has not been scouted by other teams yet.

  • Briiick

Clarkson is a more efficient SG than current Kobe. Playing him as a PG is just a tanking method.

  • Filler-up

Trust Jeremy and you shall receive. Excitement in the Staple Centre again.

  • linspiredinla
  • JoeTeam

this is weird, why’s he gotta bring kobe up? He’s irrelevant to bball now because he won’t play according to his place. That’s the way it is in sports … the young take over much faster than in other parts of life. Let it go, Ding.

  • joyce ward

Yep, I love the MVP chants

  • blubell

lol. sorry IJ, I keep forgetting.

  • JoeTeam

PFV did. I think he said at least 11 blown assists and 3 fouls.

  • Brent Yen

That was really a surprise…at one point I thought it was LAL seat fillers doing the work…lol

  • Filler-up

And he sticks around to sign autographs after a loss … Great guy. How can someone hate on him, I’ll never understand.

  • JoeTeam

    except the 2 Hill blew.

  • blubell

I wish Kimmel would show that to Kobe πŸ˜€

  • Brent Yen

Haters are not built for others to understand..

  • blubell
  • Filler-up

    Kobe’s steamed now.

  • Filler-up

I can feel the excitement is building with each game.

  • joyce ward
  • blubell
  • Rene#17

Espn announcers saying Lin has 14 million followers on Twitter.

  • blubell
  • Filler-up

Give him a system that uses his strengths and not his weaknees and a pg will not think when he can just play. Allow him to involve every guy on the team and you get defensive effort. Calling them soft is ineffective.

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

lol…i thought it was my streaming…thanks

  • Maknusia

As for stats, he had 8AST and 1SAST

  • blubell
  • linspiredinla
  • JoeTeam

easy 2D had just 2 more guys not choked on feeds. Could have won the game.

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

Its not only this game, pretty much majority of the game

  • deesee5

I stepped out a bit during 4th but was Lin playing the whole qtr?

  • golfhacker

If Lin re-signs with Lakers, I will go ape-s***.

  • sport

    Yes.

  • deesee5

cool. I was chatting with someone about it saying they put lin too late during his last run. I was thinking wait they took lin out?

  • Maknusia

    never say never…lets see…

  • Brent Yen
  • golfhacker

    BS: Is that good?

  • Maknusia

as long as BScott sticks to current strategy…I will be happy…and Lin plays his type of game

  • sport

Depends on the offer, whether Kobe and BS are gone, starting as PG, minutes, etc

  • linspiredinla
  • LAJane

Guys like Oram who live and die by the empty calories of social media popularity contests just cannot believe someone like Lin isn’t drinking the same Kool-Aid. Made me laugh that Lin not only said No, but added “You as well” don’t even bother sending me anything on Twitter.

  • sport

30 minutes is still too little! Lin should be getting at least 33-35 minutes per game!

  • golfhacker

As long as Kobe is on the team, I don’t care how much they offer him. Lin needs to play on a team with no ball hoggers.

  • linspiredinla

only since they lost NY, RP.

  • joyce ward

I think lin likes LA. He lives in Santa Monica which is the beach. His brother and sister-n-law live here. I think Mitch likes him and i think that he has gotten immune to Scott because lin realizes that he is just stupid. But if you look at the last few games, scott has trusted lin with the ball and leading the defense.

  • ETC

Jeremy deserves to the the starting PG but not with Kobe.

  • joyce ward

    and where would that be?

  • joyce ward

If Lin stays, i think they will throw Ellington into the mix with Kobe and lin lead the bench for kobe’s remaining year.

  • grover chang

“He (BS) is just stupid.” LOL. Sometimes I get the feeling Lin is babysitting the whole tem.

  • linspiredinla
  • CJSHYY

haha! I agree every team has their own Kobe just big Kobe or small Kobe… LOL!

  • Maknusia

same thought of line here… πŸ™‚

  • golfhacker

Philly, Boston, Indiana, basically any young team with no identity.

  • CJSHYY

I think there are more than 2 teams want Lin so this never say never maybe will not be Lakers… It’s true have to wait & see….

  • linspiredinla
  • grover chang

No BS. LIN IS THINKING, HE just finally figured out your lame coaching tactics.

  • LAJane

Yeah, because in addition to what Joyce says below, if there’s anything that characterizes Lin’s path, it’s the unpredictable and unexpected!

  • leeda harun

they try to resign lin and at the same time try to attract superstars to join laker next year

  • linspiredinla
  • Maknusia

I’m pretty sure he will get offers, but I’m not discounting he remains in LAL

  • linspiredinla

Lin wants to be a starter.

  • CJSHYY

If only 2 years he will not stay. I am sure Rox will give him 4 years. If Lin really back to Rox then Alex will try everything to let Lin retire as a Rox.

  • CJSHYY

    They will offer him.

  • grover chang

Jack stay home your a jinx.

  • Rick Johnson

It is better to have a short contract because they are renegotiating CBA after next year. There will be more money to spread around. That is why LaBron is on a 2yr contact.

  • Brent Yen

    To others maybe. To Lin….IDK…

  • Rick Johnson

Byron Scott is the complete opposite.

  • LAJane

Do you think Kobe could tolerate that? Wouldn’t he do everything he could to drive Jeremy out? Don’t have complete faith in Kupchak, and no faith at all in Buss kids and their toxic marriage to Kobe.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Just thinking: Now that JLin has turned the corner and gel with other players. He is “THE LEADER” of current Lakers. So, it will be a total different ballgame when KB returns next season. He is older and even less efficient. Then soon he will have end of either season or career ending injury. The season is over for KB unless silly Busses resign him for another 2 years. Well, looking from that perspective isn’t as bad now since JLin has overcome every hurdles and obstacles that KB and BS have thrown at him. No more surprises from now on:-)

  • CJSHYY

That’s what I am worry about it. Bc right now it’s happy time for Lin as FO tried everything they could to please him & hope he can sign w them next season. BUT just not really trust FO will not give Kobe the extend contract… too many uncertain still …..Once he signs everything can change again….?!

  • Maknusia

As of now, we dont know yet…chances are, the FO could sit down with Kobe and Scott, to table things over

  • golfhacker

Would you trust Kobe and Scott?

  • Maknusia

Its a FA contract, so its up to Lin and his agent to negotiate a viable contract

  • CJSHYY

    Don’t count on that… W LaBron maybe not Lin…. NO…

  • CJSHYY

I agree… Long team deal it’s the best.

  • Rick Johnson

I guess it depends. If you think he will become a max contact type guy better to sign a 1yr deal. Even a 1 year with 1 year player option could be good. If he’s a $5 mil role player then yes rather have stability and a longer contract.

  • Maknusia

you know the rules, mate,,,whats up with LaBron?!!!

  • CJSHYY

They can give him more money in last 2 years…

  • sport

lol deep low voice is funny!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

JLin isn’t into money. JLin’s goals is still: being a consistent starter and ring. He will look at his FA from that perspective. Which teams that will offer him that, he will look at it more favorably. If more teams, then look at the coach….

  • LAJane

…”unless silly Busses resign him for another 2 years” I don’t have a lot of confidence in how silly they can be. But maybe Kobe will be even more of a toothless mamba next year. Dunno….

  • CJSHYY

Don’t worry they will not give him that cheap price tag not 15M but sure not 5M per year… Don’t forget Rox will be on the table too….

  • Brent Yen

I think it is too easy to throw Lin off the bus…with that ABJ thing…so…something long term in B&W might be more realistic.

  • Rick Johnson

Then if spreading the word of God to China is his goal (and he’s said it is) LA or NY would be the best platforms in which to do that.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I know. We just have to wait and see. Now I just enjoy the rest of Linsanity Prime games and speculate on FA before end of season:-)

  • CJSHYY

Me too w silly Buss… look at Kobe didn’t say a word about celebrate won after the game on talk show… next day it’s a bad thing to do?!….

  • ETC

    Any highlights?

  • joyce ward

I say that because kobe just has one more year. Lakers are not going to offer Kobe another contract. I think the Lakers have realized that they need to move on from kobe. Also we don’t know lin’s mindset. he might like LA and want to be near his family. Lin also probably feels that everywhere he goes he will have to start over to prove himself, i also believe that lin has become immune to Scott’s antics. lin has figured out that scott’s bark is worse than his bite. I think lin is so over scott. I notice how Scott has actually had lin leading the defense in the last 3 games.

  • ETC

He needs to go to SanAntonio but I am sure he wants to live in LA.

  • CJSHYY

I know. In fact, I think Lin already had something in his mind & that’s why he plays so well now bc he is playing for his next contract. As for Lakers FO suddenly so nice to Lin, well I think that’s just part of the plan & deal to get him to resign w Lakers.

  • LW

Did Jack miss the free taco last game and come back in hope for another free tacos night? Too bad he missed it again!

  • joyce ward

SA already has Patty Mills and Corey Joseph as their pG’s.

  • LAJane

Could be. They’ve had more than plenty of evidence for moving on. But they’ve seemed to be nearly hypnotized/paralyzed by…what…Showtimes past, their father’s supposed dying wish, “loyalty”? I hope you’re right that they are maybe thinking about getting out of Kobe jail.

  • k.smith

    Paul has a point, Serena.

  • k.smith

Lin’s gotta play in a specific scheme to do well.

  • joyce ward

Also Rick, lin has become the face of Adidas in China. His signature shoe is selling like hotcakes in the Asian countries also some European countries. People need to realize that Lin is an international ICon. He is the most recognized Asian American in the world. Lin has been smart in marketing his brand overseas. I saw that he was featured in China’s GQ magazine. Also when lin bought shares into the Whistle Sports, that was a smart move. He and Peyton Manning actually bought into the online sports network.

  • joyce ward

I think they realize that Kobe has become an albatross around their neck, They will honor him with this last year, but after that , no more. I think Kobe will go quietly.

  • JW

what is with both Worthy and BS using the same reason that Lin is not thinking anymore and just playing. Are they getting the same scripts from FO?

  • Maknusia

he i not going to get much time there, and at this point in his career he needs playing time to stabilize and showcase his game

  • linspiredinla

KB will not let Lin be starter. “Soft like Charmin”.

  • Bearness

15 PER is league average. It’s not the best stat, but anyway 25 PER is very good. All star.

  • LAJane

They can’t say they were wrong and short-sighted (if not actually hostile) to Lin before. They have to come up with the cockamamie story of the moment about how Jeremy was not so good before for x (insert anything pulled from backside here) reason, but now he’s better. Urk.

  • linspiredinla

    Totally agree!

  • JW

So is this better than inconsistency message they were pushing before? Yea. they just don’t wanna admit it might be the coach.

  • Maknusia

    Jeremy’s reaction…

  • joyce ward

Exactly.I personally don’t think Horry or Worthy have a good sense of what is going on in the game. They always have that dear in the headlight look when they start talking.LOL

  • Brent Yen

In a sense it is a good thing, because that means there is not much to say about how bad Lin is.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    WOW Kudos JLin!!!

  • Brent Yen

    tell that to BS! LOL

  • LAJane

Jeremy’s stats tonight must have put you in a very rosy mood, LOL πŸ™‚

  • Bearness

Also, they are unintentionally admitting Lin has talent. It was just mental issues, which is partially true.

  • Brent Yen

Well…I would not call that issues. He is figuring out what is best for himself..

  • Brent Yen

    You are back?! lol

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Still waiting.

  • Bearness

True, that makes it sound like Lin has a problem. I meant, Lin was put in an uncertain place and could not find stability until now.

  • Brent Yen

I think bad games still to come, just like good games…

  • Maknusia

Thunder vs. Lakers – Team Highlights

  • LAJane

A quiet Kobe. From your mouth to God’s ears, as the saying goes. πŸ™‚

  • Bearness

For sure. Everyone has off nights. The real question is, will BS continue to give him a lot of minutes and the ball for rest of season?

  • blubell

Strange… there should be tons of highlights by now with the game JEremy had tonight.

  • Keith

Now they wanna play @JLin7 the right way? And then wonder why hes been inconsistent through the year till now. Still think hes garbage?— Oderint Dum Metuant (@LakerGangDre) March 2, 2015

  • Brent Yen

Yep..I do not see the stability is coming. I think he is making a transition..

  • blubell

Where are the Jeremy only highlights? πŸ™

  • Brent Yen

    Highlight makers caught off guard…again….

  • joyce ward

The thing is, how would harden, Lebron james or chris paul respond if they had been put under as much scrutiny as lin has. That is what I always keep in mind. They would have been whining all the way to the bank, i guarantee you.

  • LAJane

    LOL

  • joyce ward

Kobe will actually act like it’s his idea.LOL

  • JoeTeam

what do you mean, BSc is transitioning to his next 15 game tank strategy?

  • blubell

    From Lakersground

    http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=172501

Lin — He led the team in scoring, assists and steals. Good second half, particularly the fourth where he did most of his damage. β€œWe just didn’t get the stops we needed,” Lin said. He said in the previous two games, they did get those. This was his fourth time scoring 20+ this season. It seems like he’s starting to get things rolling now and is much more comfortable out there. β€œI’m being trusted with ball,” he said. β€œI’m being given those opportunities, given the minutes, the spacing and the style of play. So It’s kind of a lot of different things meshing together.” He said that because the ball is given to him every possession in the fourth quarter that it’s on him as quarterback on how they execute or don’t. A couple of airballs tonight before he really picked things up and got going.

The Stats: He scored 20 points on 7-14 shooting (1-3 from three, 5-6 from the line) to go with 6 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover and 1 foul in 32 minutes. He was a +6.

The Action: He attacked the rim and missed a backhand layup (dunk the other way). He drew FTs on the perimeter and made both. He caught the D sleeping and scored a layup down the middle of the lane. Nice job finding Davis in early offense for a layup. He airballed a step-back wing jumper. He scooped up a loose rebound and scored the layup. He hit Davis rolling for the slam. He had 6 points on 2-4 shooting and 3 assists at the half.

Second Half: He airballed a wing three up against the shotclock. He slipped and traveled on the sideline. Not close on a wide open wing three. He had a pass deflected right back to him and drew FTs trying to finish in the paint, he made both. He attacked from the wing and slipped in a layup between defenders. Quick attack from the wing and he scored a layup before hitting the floor. He knocked a ball loose on D. He sank an early offense pull-up wing jumper. He no-looked to Hill for the baseline jumper. Quick burst of speed down the middle of the lane and he drew FTs, he made one. He lost his man and missed a short bank trying to hit over the help. He attacked in early offense and missed in a crowd with no other Lakers around (not a good possession). He swished a wing three. He attacked off the high screen and scored a layup over the help D. He missed a short jumper. Looked like he slapped a ball loose, which Clarkson then swiped and took for the dunk.

  • Brent Yen

More like Lin is transition to a new mind set…

  • CJSHYY

I know but before Lin signs the contract FO will say so … like now he will back to starting lineup next week.

  • blubell

And of course the happy Scott tank banana

Just asked Jeremy Lin if he ever looks at his Twitter mentions. β€œNo. You as well not even send me anything on Twitter.”— Bill Oram (@billoram) March 2, 2015

  • blubell

I really hope Dawkins makes one.

  • JoeTeam

    OIC ,,, lin. Sounds good.

  • Brent Yen

    I am not certain…anyway…let’s enjoy the moment…LOL

  • joyce ward
  • blubell

    Just like Scott…

  • Maknusia

    still waiting! πŸ™

  • CJSHYY

the same scripts from BS….LOL! Worthy just helped BS out of this bench Lin mess…

  • Bearness

No doubt about that. LOL! Lin is mentally tough, but he was in a bad situation with little support from FO and BS. So, it makes sense that it took a while even for someone like Lin to find peace and comfort on the court. I’m just glad he figured it out now rather than after season.

  • Maknusia

    Patience my dear πŸ™‚

  • CJSHYY

LOL! I like this statement….They would have been whining all the way to the bank, i guarantee you.

  • Bearness

Not sure what is the point he’s trying to make?

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I know. Well, people are having off nights:-)

  • LAJane

I feel like he has made that transition. Well…transitioning is a life-long process, so… But he really seems a whole ‘nother notch comfortable and confident since what he described as a reset and recharge during the break. Yes, he’s getting more time, and command of the ball, but even so his whole attitude seems to be solid in a more unshakeable way. Really comfortable in his own skin, free of any “coach” pressures, of teammate ego-dramas, of press blather. There are tipping points, and I think he’s pushed through one here. I really look forward now to how it continues to play out.

  • Bearness

    wow that’s fast. Thanks.

  • Arsenium12 .
  • blubell

Thanks… but should be longer πŸ™‚

  • JoeTeam

    yes, siree!

  • Bearness

Hope he carries it over to next team.

  • blubell
  • webattorney

Good game. What’s going on with BS letting Lin play the entire 4th quarters?

  • Brent Yen

Look serious listening to someone…Doc giving some input?

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

    Everyone is guessing…no one knows….

  • james brown

    new TEAM!

  • Brent Yen

    lol

  • Bearness

Heh, if it was before trade deadline…

  • james brown

or NEW OFFER..talking to a GM!!!

  • joyce ward

I think they are trying to resign him. Lin got MVP chants in the Staples Center tonight. Lin has become a fan favorite.

  • james brown

    no ..for next season!!!
    too EARLY??

  • Bearness

I guess we never know, but I think Lin won’t seriously think about where to go until season is over.

  • LAJane

Partly because BS has finally figured out how to tweak the rotation so that Lin can shine AND they still get the tanking loss.

  • Brent Yen

    lol good pts

    Jeremy Linζž—ζ›Έθ±ͺβ”‚2015 03 01 Lakers vs Thunder ζΉ–δΊΊvsι›·ιœ†- jay910221

  • Bearness

Unless Kobe retires this summer (he won’t), I really, really don’t want Lin to resign in LA. But, who knows what Lin wants. So, I guess we shall see…

  • Maknusia

    OK, highlight is up… πŸ™‚

  • grover chang

Probably something more important. What to eat?

  • Bearness

Just wondering. Why does BS want Lin to shine?

  • blubell

Too much credit to BS don’t you think? lol.

  • Briiick

BS is not a good coach but he does know something about a guard’s game, unlike McHale. It only takes a little empowerment from BS and a little thought about improving spacing for Lin to shine like a MVP.

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

More like FO wants that… bc they want to resign him.

  • blubell

We need a longer one… yes, I am greedy and demanding πŸ˜›

  • james brown

i know…BS was FIRED..that’s why the face..he hates losing his beloved coach!!!
    LOL

  • LAJane

He’s just shocked at Lin’s answer.

Reposting my comment from waaay below: Guys like Oram who live and die by the empty calories of social media popularity contests just cannot believe someone like Lin isn’t drinking the same Kool-Aid

  • Briiick

LOL. LAL is courting Lin for sure. I am not surprised if the F/O told BS to make it a top priority.

  • grover chang

I would think Lin would grow every year but after mcHale and BS they likely taught Lin to not be caught off guard if his coach doesn’t believe in him. This is the NBA, plenty of guys feel like “the man” but don’t get to play as the man. I don’t think Lin’s disappointment next time will affect his play. Hopefully of course he won’t have to face the same disappointment again.

  • Brent Yen

Bill probably thinking, hey I got burnt by your fans a lot, a little help here please?

  • webattorney

I would not be hugely surprised if Lakers does offer him a contract. I don’t really mind if Lin stays with Lakers. Going to another team isn’t going to guarantee no ball hog and a biased coach. Things change in NBA quickly, so maybe staying put might be the best way to go. Also, his family might want him to stay in CA.

  • LAJane

LOL. Lin might be too nice for this, but if it were me I’d be thinking “No help for you, buddy. There’s a reason you got burnt by my fans.”

  • blubell

    Jeremy: Report the right way.

  • ETC

Is Lin playing better because he has figured something out or because BS is doing something different? It might be a combination of both but I also believe that if they would have worked with Lin earlier, the might have a 500 season. Lin was so optimistic at the beginning. I believe there was a tank mode for most of the season and everyone can see it.

  • blubell

Well, thats Linsanity for you πŸ™‚

  • Maknusia

maybe he was just too slow in figuring out…he doesnt have Lin’s IQ/EQ to start with…

  • CJSHYY

I think the key it’s Kobe. If not for Kobe everything will be so perfect for Lin in LA… smh!

  • Maknusia

    lol…we all are… πŸ™‚

  • webattorney

Honestly, BS doesn’t seem to be smart.

  • LAJane

    LOL. You got that right!

Nathan is an amazing non-Asian Lin supporter, almost as amazing as Joyce. LoL. Lin’s team should really thank Nathan.

  • blubell

    What’s the point? He won’t understand…

  • joyce ward

hey, i saw your comment bout lin staying in LA an i totally agree with you.

  • Briiick

    Agreed.

  • webattorney

His image and background is very good for after NBA ventures and projects. Other NBA players better be nice to Lin because he is going to be even a greater force after his NBA career.

  • blubell
  • BobbyH

Why a change of heart from BS, even if just a bit? You could tell a big difference from the court that BS let Lin plays his game in the whole 4th quarter for how many games since ASG? 3 out of 5?

The sub pattern is still not ideal. Who could play 15 mins no-stop, 3 mins in 3Q and 12 mins in 4Q with productive output. And Lin just did that. Imagine a right coach with right system and right players, what Lin can show us.

  • ra

his agent, just told him cleveland is interested if if he can still get a buyout…ha ha

  • joyce ward

I totally agree with you. LA is a big market and I think lin is just tired of moving to another team to prove himself all over again. i think he likes LA and I think he likes his team mates. i actually think that he ans scott will eventually meet on common ground. Not worried about Kobe because I think he will be a nonfactor in his last year

  • ra

    yap

  • LAJane

That was fun, wasn’t it! He usually tries to be pretty diplomatic, but just couldn’t drag himself there this time. Almost outright said he could care less! πŸ˜€

  • Briiick

The size of the contract is the key, which determines how much a coach is going to cater to your strength.

  • joyce ward

Yep, Lin is already the face of Adidas in China. His jersey is the 7th selling jersey in Asia.

  • IsabeliJane*17

It’s ok. What was done is in the past πŸ™‚

  • blubell

One of the reasons why Jeremy is playing more is because Young is out so we’ll see if this continues when he comes back.

  • John Lee

No change of heart from BS, just F/O giving different set of orders that BS does not dare going against now that Kobe’s influence is waning.

  • blubell

They have better chemistry now. Kobe will mess that up if/when he comes back next season.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL I know. I like all JLin current noninjured teammates but still a little skeptic about Hill. He is slowly getting around now.

  • John Lee

McHale “the fridge” followed immediately by BS H3ll are the worst for any NBA player’s development. But in retrospect, it might have been a blessing in disguise. Having conquered the “Mount Everest” of bad coaching, there’s absolutely nothing left that can stop Jeremy now.

  • Dan Cohen

It would have been a very tight and close and even possible win like 108-107 if 1) Lin hadn’t miss a free throw, 2) hill lay that up instead of trying to dunk it which bought ibaka time to block him, and 3) elli make just 1 more 3 in. (heck, the same can be said if elli had 2 more 3 pointers..and also lin had gave a few guys open shots and they weren’t falling in.. if it’s a 3 pointer I can understand..but if it’s close to the basket and it’s open.. it’s not suppose to be missing that much)… even though it’s like 1 deficit, I think okc might mess up because they might get nervous because it’s the lowly lakers they are playing and they blew a double digit point lead in the 4th qtr. Lin would’ve gotten a double double too!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    That’s my take as well.

  • knibb

    Ditto.

  • CJSHYY

That’s exactly what I thought. BS just did whatever FO asked him to do.

  • John Lee

Too many if’s, keeping it simple here: more Davis and less Hill, problem solved.

  • Rick Johnson

I think Clarkson as PG and primary ball handler is the problem. He may get his points and Horey and Big James rave about him but his +/- is bad because the team as a whole does poorly when he’s PG. Look at the game flows attached when Clarkson is on the floor they fall behind, Even when JLin comes in they still couldn’t gain because Clarkson controlling the ball. When Clarkson steps out JLin as PG evens the game. Then Clarkson comes back in and loses it again. In the 4th quarter Clarkson out JLin leading a comeback but then Ibaka coming back in early killed that:

Though not an exact match for Iblocka, Davis (and to a lesser extent, Black) can hold their own much better than lazy Hill, who’s fairly useless in the low-post…on the rare occasion of him actually being there.

Hill is average near the basket with about 57 FG%, he’s actually above league average in the long 2’s with 47 FG% (compared to league average of 39.8% but 57% is still better than 47%. He should stay Looking at this shot chart he should stay near the basket instead of taking those long 2’s. Ed Davis is actually also around league average 60% around the rim but that’s most of what he takes so he’s more efficient. Look at his shot chart. Tyson Chandler is elite around the rim (70.8%). No wonder JLin did so well with Chandler.

I think we can all agree that as long as Lin continues to get his minutes and handle the ball at crunch time, I really don’t care if the Lakers win or not. Lin will always give 110% and always go for the win. However, the lesser of two evils is that BS gets to tank while lin gets to play hard and improve. This way everyone gets what they want and Lin gets to build his marketability up for his next team. I guess that means its a lose / win situation! Lol

  • CJSHYY

    NY Loves him always… πŸ™‚

  • John Lee

Is the NBA intentionally trying to rub this in for Kobe? LOL

  • Brent Yen

    lol

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I don’t agree. Lin has to win but unless he has to keep playing from behind N that is suck.

  • John Lee

They were close tonight, but starters dug too big of a hole in 1Q, and Iblocka too much for Hill to handle.

  • Acbc

Like I said, it’s in Lin’s DNA to always try to win. I think he has compartmentalized his “winning” to the play time he is given. He can’t control the flow when he isn’t on court so winning to Lin has been abstracted into a different game clock; instead of 4×12 minutes to make up a game. LIN’S game is the 8-10 first half PT and 10-20 second half minutes. If he wins those short games, then that’s all he can do.

Btw, this is what Bruce Lee calls “tighten your circle”.

  • chan c

This is a mystery to me – that the coach and the FO fail to recognize and utilize the deadly Lin – Davis connection… smh

case in point : In today’s game, what happened to Davis in the second half? He was 5-5 , I believe in the first half.

  • John Lee

True that, but a W will always be icing on the cake for Lin. Plus they can celebrate after a W to p/o Kobe!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

4Q 14 points, 2 steals and cause Jeremy Lamb the turnover so Jeremy actually caused 3 Thunder turnovers, 2 assists.
None of Jeremy’s shots was blocked. Ibaka is a good shot blocker.
Of course Jeremy did miss some shots but it’s nothing unusual. Jeremy shot @ good %.

  • John Lee

Au contraire, I think the coach and F/O recognizes the connection very clearly, which was EXACTLY why Davis saw no more PT. They’re trying to promote Lin while still tanking, the latter dictating no L-ED connection.

  • Maknusia

    he said No!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Laker doesn’t real have a big rim protector as their center; not even someone like Omar Asik. They need a big man at the center to anchore their defense.

  • chan c

I’m sorry, but why are they promoting Lin now?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

In 4Q, Lin caused 3 Thunder TOs; 2 as steals and 1 miscue from Jeremy Lamb. That’s what’s need to play a catch up game. Again, it should be a team effort. Jeremy all made 2 assists in 4Q.

  • Rick Johnson

With JLin as SG he did better with Price as PG than Clarkson at PG. Clarkson can’t actually run the team, he just keeps chucking and trying to score That’s why his +/- always so poor, usually worst on the team.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jordon Hill had taken too many long 2s. He should just take a step back and took 3 pointers which increase the effective field goal percentage.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Black is still a rookie and he doesn’t have a jump shot to go with his offense. A very limited set of skills around the rim.

  • John Lee

This is my personal conjecture, but I think something must’ve happened between F/O factions around ASG/CNY time, and the pro-Lin camp came out ahead. After a visit by Mitch during practice, Lin started getting more minutes and game-closing rights. But more importantly, all media rhetorics started changing their tone on Lin-related comments, including BS and TWC minions Stu, Horry and Worthy.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Boozer has great chemistry with Lin in the Boston game. Then Boozer has never been paired with Lin again ever since. The change of lineup just sucks.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe definitely will mess up any team chemistry for any teams. Nobody really wants to play with him; not even Rondo.

  • joyce ward
  • stam

yep, and everyone’s career is suffering from the Tank. Davis would have continued scoring and Lin might have had a double double from assists.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

yeah! This is the contract year for Jeremy. It’s now or never.
After the ASG, Jeremy really plays well.
The Lakers put Jordan Clarkson in at the end of the game to padd his stats. He was -18, the worst of the team. Now he’s -14. If Boozer was inserted in the game like him, Boozer would have got more things done.

  • linspiredinla

Better be carved in stone though. Words don’t count. So far neither Houston nor LAkers have honored their “words”.

  • stam

I want Lin to win because it’s important to him and his teammates. The more they win, the more they trust him as their floor general and the more confident he gets.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The snake will never change. Byron has done nothing to Lin’s development. I think it’s Nash who has been coaching Jeremy and Clarkson to play in a controlled manner. I absolutely have no confidence in Byron’s abililty to coach an NBA TEAM. Who would?

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • JLin Fan from Australia

In the special Chinese New Year edition news, it was reported that over 1000 JLin fans from Taiwan alone have already attended Lakers games to support JLin. More unaccounted JLin fans from Hong Kong and China as well.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin had caused 3 Thunder TOs in 4Q. 2 were steals and 1 was not given to him but Jeremy actually caused Jeremy Lamb to loss possession to Clarkson for a breakaway basket at the end of the game. This is what is needed in playing catchup but Jeremy just couldn’t do everything by himself.

From what I could see , Ryan Kelly could hit 3s but not smoothly. He could play much better. Jordan Hill should step back and attempt 3s rather than shooting those long 2s. That would make lots of difference in the game.

I wouldn’t want Jeremy to stay one more year with Kobe and Byron; not anymore. Those two are toxic to any NBA player.

I see a real good chance that Rondo turning out to be a bust for the Mavericks this season and Jeremy would became a really viable option for Dallas specially when Houston is trying to recruit Lin back to the Rockets.

The Texas triangle really intrigues me. The 3 teams, Spurs, Rockets and Mavericks are going to compete fiercely in playoffs seasons after seasons. They are all going to the win now mode. They would do anything to strengthen their team. Jeremy would make Dallas so much better with his game of PnR with their big men; Tyson Chandler, Amare Stoudmeire and even Greg Smith. The team chemistry of playing Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin is always intriguing to watch. Lin can always pass to Parsons for his 3s. Make it happen, Cuban!

  • Rick Johnson

Look at the lineups in the past 4 games. When you take the Davis / Ellington / Hill / Johnson / Lin the net NetRtg is +22.3. When you replace Ellington with Clarkson NetRtg is -12.3. The starters without Lin is -18.7.

I’d like to see Davis / Ellington / Boozer / Johnson / Lin

The teammates of Lakers are not the ones who could make Jeremy better. I think Jeremy would play at the next level in Dallas. One thing, the coach is better. The team will be more receptive to Lin.

Lin will never be given a fair chance to play at his best in Lakers with this coach and Kobe.

  • John Lee

One of the BEST treatments for ANY type of cancer is an UPLIFTED SPIRIT.

My mother in law has been diagnosed with cancer last March, but she’s now doing much better because she 1) retired from work after using up her leave, 2) stopped cooking which reduced oil fume intake, 3) started exercising to both increase metabolic heat (bad for cancer cells, which is why there’s no such thing as “heart cancer”) and uplift mood, and 4) travels and has fun as much as financially possible.

Many cancer patients fall prey to the doom and gloom (can’t be blamed, but it doesn’t help), but fighting cancer requires lots of positivity from the patient in addition to the medical treatments.

Suffice to say, with the recent turn of events regarding the Lakers treatment of Lin, your spirits are most likely VERY uplifted and that must’ve chased LOTS of cancer cells away!

Wish you good health and full recovery.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I think Lin should accept a 5-year 50M or better. Unless there are unusual circumstances when there are teams competing for Lin’s service, Jeremy shouldn’t price himself out of the market. Again he should let the market decide on how much he’s worth.

Before the ASG, people would think he won’t get an offer more than $5M per year. After the ASG, the prospect of Jeremy is looking up. He’s going to be at his prime in one or two more years. He’s improved and becomes an all around PGs who can score lots of points at the clutch. In short, he could be a game changer. Let’s hope Jeremy will play for a contender like the Mavericks and not a team like Lakers.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! Glad that JLin has been playing well as well.

  • sport

That’s my dream potential starting lineup for next season right there if everyone stays except it’s tough to choose between Nick Young and Johnson.

  • blubell

    Need to rub harder πŸ˜›

  • Kwok Wai Lai

You are right on the issue. Playing with Kobe is no fun and is destructive to Jeremy. Jeremy should just move on and find some team that could better use his talents. Moreover, Jeremy should stay away from coaches like Byron Scott and Kevin McHale.

  • John Lee

You can start with mild aerobics as permitted by the docs, sweating excretes lots of metabolic waste/toxins and the metabolic heat kills cancers cells. Once your strength is back, you can start short trips. Just remember, DON’T LET stress (work, BS) get to you, take LOTS of deep breath and relax. You’ll be happier AND healthier, and able to post here even MORE!!! LOL

  • blubell

So we have Jeremy to thank for lifting up your spirits with his Linsanity performances while staying healthy πŸ™‚

  • JW

doesn’t matter. BS doesn’t believe in analytic.

  • blubell

Clarkson is not really a PG. Besides I much prefer Jeremy/Ellington backcourt with Jeremy as the PG.

  • blubell

    Nor does he understand it…

  • John Lee

I don’t think Jeremy gets to “price” himself at all, it’s whatever the teams will offer. 12M a year used to be pretty good, but with the upcoming increase in salary cap, 12M will be the new 8M or something like that.

  • Rick Johnson

Offensively it’s close but Johnson is better at defense. Lately Young’s shot and therefore offense has been poor also.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has tried not to give him the reason to bench him.

  • Maknusia

sometimes, you dont know, what you get

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe being the worst starting SG in NBA really has no right in making the comments like these. He couldn’t even play half of the games. Who is softer? Without Kobe on the team and his #25m capspace, the Lakers can go a long way.

What is the problem for the Lakers? It spells “KOBE”.

  • Maknusia

Oh my….what a relieve!!!…really happy for you! and Grace will always be with you…cheers

  • chan c

    Cheers! Praise God! πŸ™‚

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nothing can change this Lakers team. Lin should just move on!

  • chan c

Alright. We’d take that. Better than he continues to be marginalized…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That’s why I think Dallas is the best team for Jeremy. They have Devin Harris 32, JJ Barea 30, Raymond Felton 30, Monta Ellis 29, Rajon Rondo 29. Jeremy Lin 26 will be a great addition for the Dallas team. Next season, Mark Cuban is going to make a decision for their guards, I think their coach will get to select the team. Rick Carlisle would definitely don’t want Rondo @max contract. Jeremy Lin would be such a bargain for Dallas with lots of upsides and the youngest of them all going into maturity.

The tapes of Jeremy Lin after ASG would be scruntinized by all NBA teams because they all know what a competent and durable PG would do to a contender in NBA. Things are looking up for our boy Jeremy!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Morey would never give what Jeremy truly is worth! This man is always looking for bargains to exploit his players.
The worst team for Lin is the Laker. Next is the Rockets. And next is the Knicks.

  • linspiredinla

Yes. He said in recent interview he will consider all options carefully when he becomes a free agent.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s difficult not to think of money when you’re an economic major Harvard graduate. Also teams would give more leverage to players with a higher salary. There’s nothing wrong to go for the best and highest paid contract.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He’s the snake. Ronnie unfortunately was crowned the head of the Snake.

  • golfhacker

That is great news! Really happy for you.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Linhaters are completely swung out.

  • golfhacker

More like Johnson is less bad at defense. Lol.

  • Rick Johnson

Wow, that’s great new! Glad to hear it.

  • Rick Johnson

True. Wish they had a good defender like Shumpert who is a good two way player.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nothing can compensate for the heartbreaks and torture throughout the season. I think Lin has already seen the colour of the snake and would stay away from getting bitten again by the dynamic duo of Kobe and Scott. Kobe and Scott and this Charmin stuff are garbage and unprofessional. Their days are numbered. Kobe is trying to sell himself for more years but it would take a fool to bite on this contract. After this season, Kobe will really become the untouchable in the league. Everybody wants to see his retirement ASAP except himself.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe would never go quietly. That’s not his style.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Don’t worry. Lin will resign with the Lakers.

  • Maknusia

lets be respectful in our comments, calling another a “snake” is not appropriate, in addition, its breaking the rules here as well

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I doubt if Lin will ever want to play with Kobe the ball-hogger again.

  • Maknusia

For a moment, you been saying he wont be in LAL…what changed? πŸ™‚

  • orLinaryjoe

    A happy new year indeed!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Exactly!

  • Linja

Prov. 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The turn of Jeremy after ASG is so dramatic, I hope it will move on and solidify Lin’s competitive advantage in his contract year.

  • John Lee

    Literally! πŸ™‚

  • Samuel

Thanks for da video, my 5 minutes well spent.
but cmon Lin, answer the questions in Chinese already πŸ™‚

  • Samuel

still up? quick turn the TV on, the game is replaying on ESPN2 now..

  • LW

Great news indeed! Very happy for you!
(might I ask what type of cancer?)

  • John Lee

Still at work…I’m stationed in Hong Kong. Saw part of the game on AFN during breakfast.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Not in Dallas. Rick Carlisle wouldn’t have that. Mark Cuban is going to have to make a choice between his coach and Rajon Rondo soon. Too bad that the trade deadline is over!

  • Samuel

    Davis = Chandler
    Hill / Boozer = Jeffries
    Johnson = Fields
    Ellington = Shump
    Young = JR
    Kelly = Novak
    Clarkson = TD
    Lin = Lin
    Scott isn’t D’Antoni

  • Kwok Wai Lai

We all know that it’s not true.
It’s just that Lin takes a backseat and let the others crash on their own course. Then Lin will come in and do whatever he is allowed to do. Sort of like let the game play to him and plays within his limitations and makes no unforced errors.

  • Samuel

I see, I didn’t know that, do they call ESPN “Star sports” in HK?

  • DaBoss

Great news indeed! Take good care and God bless!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

All Byron Scott wants is a team of robots while he and Kobe do all the thinking and bullying.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It is easier with Kobe off the court.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Haters even hate themselves but they will go on hating everyone to make life miserable.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe is a lame duck for the rest of his career because he’s so notorious that nobody want to get close to him anymore after the way he treated Jeremy. Fancy that he can get Kupchak to sign Rondo with a multi-years max contract for him!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How long would it take a PG to mature? Steve Nash took 4 years. Many take more! Usually they are granted the support of the team to speed up the process. Jeremy took 2+ years of abuse from McHale and Byron. Jordan Clarkson is basically a SG that could pass. Byron is a racist in my book and he wrote off Lin even before the season began. That tough guy stuff is really nauseating. He should have retired sooner.

  • LAJane

We’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, aren’t we. Gun-shy fans…lol.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I wish Lin will come back next year playing for another team and blow the Lakers and Kobe off the court. After the game Lin will be just like the last game that he outgunned Kobe for the Knicks. Why don’t you just ask Kobe himself (who is Charmin)?

  • John Lee

I don’t watch local HK TV, AFN (Armed Forces Network) gets the real ESPN.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron normally played Lin 23 minutes.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    LOL LOL LOL

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe won’t be able to play in half of the games for a season. He’s a product finished.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Why didn’t Hill shoot 3 pointers?
Because Byron didn’t think 3 pointers make a championship team.

  • orLinaryjoe

    Scott=BS, lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron Scott took Boozer away from Lin ever since the Boston game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Thank God! The turnaround of everything since ASG.
I can drink to this. Cheer!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    A big tank from Scott.

  • LAJane

Really great post! I think you’ve just put your finger on the adjustment I feel I’ve seen in him since the break. I think “tightening your circle” is harder to do than it sounds because there’s always such strong desire for the bigger outcome. Letting go of everything except what is right in front of you frees you to really own the moment and freely create in it. He’s really owning his short games and having fun at it. It’s attracting the trust of his teammates, and it makes the negativity of people like Kobe and BS completely irrelevant to him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hill even runs fastbreak. Isn’t it a bit out of line!
    The worst lineup for Lin:
Jordan Hill, Jordan Clarkson, Nick Young

  • MoominFloren

    What a great news! #GodisGood

  • LAJane

OK, I’ve defended the floral shirt he wears on occasion, but what are these pants? πŸ™‚

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Look at game stats of Phoenix against Spurs
    Eric Bledsoe 32 minutes 3-9 12 points 0-2 3P 6-7 FT 6 REbounds 2 TO +/- (-32)
    Brandon Knight 17 mins 0-6 1 point 1-2 FT 2 assists +/- (-15)

The team will be much better off giving up Eric Bledsoe. Now their playoff hope is all but gone.

  • Maknusia

He is averaging 25.7 min. POST ASG its 27.9min

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Pelicans has won 5 games without significant contributions from Anthony Davis.
They won their first game against Miami with Anthony Davis played 9 minutes.
The four straight games against Toronto, Brooklyn, Miami and Denver without their superstar,

The importance of a superstar to a team is always overrated. In fact there are more team plays and the team develop more confidence for their long term future. Omar Asik is a solid center that anchore their defense.

NO is only half a game behind the Thunder in the playoff race. The Laker Thunder game is a real important game in the West. Too bad that Scott still play his team in a tank mode. The better players did not start and lost the first and third quarter.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There are things beyond the control of Lin.

  • Yascar

    Great news!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s funny and good humour after the ending of a long losing streak.
Byron and Kobe are such wet blanket; a disaster for entertaining basketball.
Why don’t they quit messing with their players? They have done enough damages to the team.
    Let the guys have fun.
NBA need to kick these miserable duo out for good entertainment.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

PER of Jeremy breaks through 14+ to 15.12

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe is a degenerated and handicapped player who refuses to retire despite his stats has been telling him that he shouldn’t start for any franchise. Byron has to slow down the tempo of the game for him to catch up. Without Kobe and Byron, this team could be more competitive. Byron tanks on purpose in order to make Kobe look good after his injury. He wouldn’t want the team to win w/o Kobe.

  • Maknusia

End of the day, its the coach and FO needs to decide how to run the show. ANd yes, we know, we have an incompetent coach here.

  • John Lee

Early in 2013-14 season with Rox Jeremy was at 18.8 at one point (b2b 30+ games mini Linsanity run), then he got frozen out soon after. Yes, I’ll ALWAYS remember, Rox will remain on my blacklist FOREVER.

  • MoominFloren

I know Lin always has a positive impact on the games, but don’t know the numbes are so impressive! Should tweet it to media, doubters & haters.

  • MoominFloren

    Bingo!

  • Maknusia

Wonder when would Lin start….Scott, said he will be rotating the lineup soon

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Absolutely! The best lineup for the Lakers is Davis/Ellington/Boozer/Johnson/Lin assuming Kobe is healthy.

  • joyce ward
  • Kwok Wai Lai

Scott has been trying to take away the chance for the team to succeed because the team actually plays better w/o Kobe. Scott is just trying to cover up this fact.

  • John Lee

Starting alongside Sacre and with Clarkson handling the ball may not necessarily be a good thing stat-wise. Lin’s +/- was negatively affected by sharing court time with Clarkson.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

BS did say that he didn’t want to play Clarkson with JLin. Can we trust his words? NOP, not really. Will be interesting to see. He may try the worst new starter lineup with JLin — Clarkson, Sacre, Hill and NY. We will have fun then–tanking in full blown:-)

  • Dorothy

  • 1mtoldman

i really like the no team. i thought they would fall apart without davis. statistically (the statistics i follow) davis is the best player in the league. and with holiday and whats the other guy ryan… something out i thought they would fold but they didn’t. i still dont think asik does much but take up space on the court but the gigantic other guy with the skinny legs french i think anjica? is so big.

i think they list him only at 7 ft but on the court at the same time with asik and jv of toronto another 7 footer he just towered over them (and hes’ even kind of hunched over as real tall skinny people tend to be).

they have a lot of “role players”. they’re a good team. davis injury when it happened looked really serious to me and i dont know why he stayed in the game and then tried to come back to play soon.

again to me hes the best player in the game already an definitely in the future and ridiculous to risk his career by keeping him in and bringing him back too soon.

but yeah i like the pelicans too.

and yeah bs knows how to tank. sacre, kelly, ellington, clarkson, who’s the fifth guy? i guess they starting boozer now. (who is the one guy who does work better off the bench so yeah they start him to reduce his effecteiveness!)

“developing” a clarkson who in reality they have no interest in is just a mask (transparent); and excuse for “not prioritizing winning” (otherwise known as tanking, which indeed most, many l.a. sports writers and fans are concerned the lakers are putting at risk and serious enuf about).

but there seems to have been a compromise of some kind where lin gets his opporutnites while bs still controls the reins of successuful failure a la hinkie. (a theoretic of course success which in truth never–or at least to date never does–evenuate(s).

to me scott is the tank genius because the other tanking teams: philly and nyk have been decimated on purpose by their management: no matter what the coach does he doesn’t have the players to win.

its the unique talent of scott to have to misuse the talent he has to successufllly lose; and also make it look like hes attempting to win.

now some people, actually most lin fans think scott is a bad coach and not smart. and its just his ineptitutde and ignorance that is in play but to me he is a genius at successfull failure; and at concealing it.

initially all he had to do was let kobe be kobe but when poor old kobes body gave out he had to get more creative; and he was up to the task! and remains so.

occasionally he has a personal vested interest in winning and you can see that in his choices. and there are enuf other preconstituted to failure teams that he can get away with an occasional personal attempt at victory.

but the rest of the time, otherwise the fans who are also entirely in support of the tank would turn on the team, ….he skillfully navigates the organizational goal of reaching the nirvana of the sacred “draft pick”.

  • 1mtoldman

you would like to see it but laker fans and writers demanding draft pick and organization on board for that goal would not. mite result in “doom” (to quote the worst of the lot valerie morales)–if they should actually “want to win”.

  • 1mtoldman

still keeps davis away. which is more important.

  • 1mtoldman

no its an important distinction, (as was noted “like santa claus”) he doesn’t believe, like doesn’t beleive in the 3 pt shot (or defending it).

its one thing to not understand. but much more to not believe.

  • Tey Ling

Got it from Wiki la …

  • 1mtoldman

again i entirely disagree with this persepcteive; i think fo and coach are both on board with tanking and scott is highly skilled at it. it was easy when he had kobe but without kobe its tougher so he has to be creative and he has been.

i think fans here (lin fans) dont seem to realize the overwhelming 99.9% sentiment of lakers fans, writers that it is essential to tank to the draft pick and that even thinking about doing anything else even accidentally is (to quote valeire morales) to invite “doom”.

lakers fan base would desert them entirely if they would win enuf games to fail to be in the mix for the draft pick.

sam hinkie is still considred a genius. and the role model for others to emulate.

the lakers fo have been reluctant to decimate their team to the extent that philly (and now new york) have been; so its up to bs to carry out “not prioritizing winning” with the (regretably) occasionally capable of winning players he now has.

and he has done that with both variety and skill. and subtly masking (somewhat subtly) intent.

i could be wrong but at least i can offer an alternate view.

  • BobbyH

“I was clear from potential second site cancer.” LOL, I thought you meant the other site.

  • webattorney

  • Brewkowski

I will not give Byron any credit. I actually think he is that bad of a coach and he’s not intentionally tanking.

  • Tey Ling

Vanness Wu is also an actor / singer, he is born in California. Info is in Wiki …

  • CJSHYY

  • Brewkowski

    The Nick Young influence

  • Filler-up

So when BS says 50/50 of fans want to tank vs those that wants to win, I guess that contradicts what you say.

  • Dan Cohen

no.. more like if he is in the starting line up.. he gets to play 20 minutes only like boozer and does not close out games as the 2nd unit. notice the trend.. starter sits at the 4th quarter ..mostly.

  • Dan Cohen

so smart in doing this move.. so evil. IF that is the plan.. wow.. does that also make me evil for thinking up about this plan? HA HA HA HA.

  • CJSHYY

FO wants to sign Lin that’s why he can have more playing time & also play the way he wants….LIn will close the game but BS will make sure w not hot players around him to loss the game.

  • Acbc

Scott thinks analytic (a***-ytic) is a suppository for the relief of constipation. The way he is always furling his brow and crossing his arm is a definite sign that Scott is full of BS.

  • joyce ward

Nope not true. I live in LA, majority of Laker fans could care less about draft picks, because majority of the fans knows that is basically a crap shoot. Most fans that attend the game, just ant some goo basketball and they want to win.

  • 1mtoldman

lin got just a little over 32 minutes last nite. that was the first time he has had that many minutes since nov. 30 2014.

virtually all top nba point guards average,… average more than 32 minutes a game.

addtionally regarding lin minutes for lakers

lakers record when lin plays at least 29 minutes:

    9-13

lakers record when lin play less than 29 minutes:

    7-29

or: approximately 40% wins with lin 29 min or more

20% wins without lin less than 29 min.

this is consistent with a previous analysis (mine) of last season with houston where when lin got 29 minutes or more the rockets winning % would have been tied with s.a. for best in west.

when less than 29 would have been tied with dallas for last playoff spot.

regarding vanness wu; well both posters are more of less right.

he is a taiwanese actor/singer but he was born in newport beach!
(the richest community in america at one time and site of the fictional tv show once one of my favorites “the o.c.”.)

in the opposite of the usual direction left the opulent but apparently boring life there to find out what “more life had to offer” in taiwan.

he appears to be most known for his spats on line and otherwise with his “heiress wife” arissa cheo.

but what i know him from is his part in the legendary sammo hung’s 2009 film “kun fu chef’s”.

btw can anyone confirm for me if arissa cheo the “heiress wife” would be the daughter of singapore “edible oils” magnate cheo tong choon (one of 50 weathiest men in singapore according to forbes and others).

Jeremy definitely confirmed he was given the ball every single time in Q4 and lots of PnR plays called to his liking. He just couldn’t stop smiling =)

Does Lakers actually try to ‘bribe’ Lin to stay with them next season? Or they’re testing the water on Lin’s potential after Kobe retires.

I hope Lin is still politely say, “No, thank you” and bolt in July. With Kobe back, the nightmare will continue!

  • Rocky

In general, exercise enhances the natural immune system to fight the cancer. The healthy (or happy) mindset enhances that as well. The stress and low mood creates more acidic environment, which is preferred by the cancer cells.

  • Byron on Jeremy Lin: “I am really happy with the way he’s starting to show that consistent effort every night. He’s not thinking as much.”ο»Ώ

(Unspoken comment): “Unlike the 1st half, I was also forced to give the ball to Lin in the 4th quarter and set up PnR since Kupchak twisted my arm to do so. He told me not to be thinking too much about how Kobe feels with Lin stealing the show in LA”

  • CJSHYY

Haha! I think if not for FO’s instruction to let Lin played his game… BS would pull Lin out around 5 min left for 4Q.

IMO, FO is a family divided. What we are seeing is the result of the many aspects of that division.

What is the bottom line for the Busses? We can only guess! Is it money? Is it legacy of their father? Is it the traditions of the Lakers franchise? All of these questions other sub questions that relates to how they treat LIN.

Money is a big bottom line because the two kids have nothing else but the team. Kobe used to be their cash cow, but they are seeing that’s no longer the case. Jack Nicholson threatening to sell his season tickets and the low TV ratings are making them reevaluate Kobe’s importance to the team. What we’ve seen is the emergence of Lin’s popularity and stellar play. The Asian market is very important to the health of the Lakers. Lin’s popularity in Asia ISNT lost on the Busses, they know that sponsors like Maxxis Tires will dump them as soon as LIN leaves.

The Lakers winning tradition is threatened by even the slightest suggestion of tanking. What may be happening is a FO decision to let LIN play and see if he can be a part of the future winning tradition. If LIN fails, the FO can say diffinitively that they’ve given LIN a chance but he wasn’t able to prove his worth. The last 4-5 games has made it even harder for the Busses becasue of how LIN has played. Fans are happily chanting “MVP” giving LIN more props to take the reins of the team. If LIN continues to show the owners that they could have won many more game with LIN in charge, then the rebuilding doesn’t need to be from the basement like the Sixers. Few expert opinions would ever acknowledge that it was LIN and Asik along with Harden that turned the Rockets around. In fact, Lin Asik and Parsons could have taken HOUSTON to the first round without any help from Harden.

JEREMY LIN IS THE LIN-CHPIN THAT BROUGHT HOWARD TO THE ROX. LIN CAN TURN THE LAKERS AROUND IN 2 YEARS IF GIVEN A CHANCE TO LEAD THE TEAM WITH NO TANKING REQUIRED.

I’m with Nathan on this one. Even one year with Kobe is too much — and we can’t be sure there won’t be more.

I’m even wondering a bit more after reading Kevin Ding’s recent “preparing to lead” article [link] on Julius Randle. Taken at face value, it looks like the Lakers may be planning on building their future around him. (Maybe a budding Carmelo Anthony type?) It appears that Kup himself is personally mentoring Randle (odd it’s not the coaching staff), and Randle talks to Kup “all the time”.

Wow, thought they would have checked this out more thoroughly by now. Poor Nick.

  • JW

NY is guaranteed for next year so either side probably don’t really need him to return any time soon. Probably better having him resting and give more time for others to show LAL who they wanna resign in the summer time.

  • Brent Yen

BTW, I have noticed it for a while now. Less and less team were trying to force Lin to go left. They realized his left is just equally deadly. So they need team D to block him out.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Right now no one talk about his can’t go left & TO problem anymore… Great!

  • Brent Yen

    except Jon Barry…LOL

  • CJSHYY

BTW, do you know who’s the other commentator from ESPN last night besides Ryan Ruocco? He also seemed to be like Lin a lot.

  • joyce ward

I also saw that lin’s ball handling is much better when he in traffic. To keep from strippednin traffic now, he crouches overbtge ball to protect it.

  • Sophie Paris

He looks asian to me too lol

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Byront Scott, which are you, incompetent, bias, stupid or intentionally tanking?

  • Rick Johnson

Randle hasn’t even played a second game yet. Seems premature to start planning to build a franchise around him.

  • CJSHYY

    All of above.

  • FrankW

Had that been a Bruce Lee kick Mr. James would
    be singing in countertenor.

  • webattorney

Yeah, he also seems to be not making “dumb” passes that often led to TOs. I think he’s just not forcing too many passes and passing only when he sees good openings.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

It’s funny now on how BS tried to give himself credit that this has been what he wanted Lin to play. SMH.

  • Arsenium12 .

Here’s a catalogue of Laker misses, following passes from Jeremy Lin, in the OKC game …
    __________

  • takemeback2reaganyears

BTW James Worthy also said that too.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

10 plus blown layup or wide open.

  • FrankW

    No Jared Jeffries?

  • linspiredinla

but without giving him the tools/play time to do so.

  • lleepar

Yes, it does, doesn’t it? OTOH, I wonder how many players under contract to the Lakers talk to the general manager about things “all the time”.

  • FrankW

He look like a white version of William Hung, Could be a
    brother from a different mother.

  • webattorney

Chicken or beef BBQ? Hmm . . .

  • linspiredinla

I think they are fishing buddies.

  • webattorney

Agree. My point is that you can’t just keep on looking for the best situation at another team because THAT team’s coach can leave or get another ball hog, etc. If Lin can help Lakers get to playoff, the fan base will start to really appreciate his efforts and commitment. I think he should stay.

  • webattorney

Of course, no one knows. And I am not even guessing. I am just saying staying with Lakers has good points also. I frankly care less where he goes, but there is some value to staying put and showing your commitment.

  • FrankW

Good Stu, Lantz and James Worthy also falling into the Kupchak plan.

  • webattorney

I have not tweeted anything in my life either. With playing computer games, I don’t think he has time to tweet. LoL.

  • real-dsb

Same thing Keith Smart claimed, that he tried to teach Lin all those things at GSW, but he didn’t get it until he got to NYK.

  • FrankW

Would have won if half of those assists were converted.

  • blubell
  • real-dsb

Well, I expected Lin to chuckle and say something like, “That’s just Kobe, ha ha”.

Lin’s response was more like, “I don’t care what Kobe thinks. He’s not a part of this team right now. We’re playing better as a team without him, so if guys want to celebrate, it doesn’t bother me.”

  • real-dsb

I was curious who the reporter was. Looked up her twitter profile. Yikes!

  • 1mtoldman

well nobody agrees with me here but i am in the intentionally tanking column. cause its what fans demand. so i would assume fo sees that and agrees and acquires someone capable of that. now it may be that his natural incompotence facilities that but to me the underlying cause is i.t. or as its called not “not prioritizing winning” to achieve the sacred “draft picks” a la sam hinkie. the genius. at this. alleged. which actually hasn’t produced any results. but someday soon.

  • real-dsb

    the pants…

  • 1mtoldman

“be careful not to sing soprano/ that dont go out ideho”

  • real-dsb

Lin’s not that dumb to stay in LA to play with a ballhog SG. Who knows if the dinosaur Lakers regime will sign Kobe to another 2-year contract?

  • FrankW

During Linsanity, ranked #9 in point guards, below Steve
Nash and above Ty Lawson. Curry was ranked #6. Lin had a 19.97 PER.

  • 1mtoldman

and another one bites the dust. i wrote recently about how all the big name marketable stars are out with injuries/illness/etc.

kobe, melo, durant, davis, griffin, rose, westbrook, bosh, howard, even pretty boy parsons, cousins now too i think, and now i see jimmy butler is out with elbow problem for 3 to 6 weeks. . thats the end for chicago if it wasn’t already.

who’s left? maybe harden was trying to take lbj out with that kick so he would be the last man standing.

  • real-dsb

That statement couldn’t be more false. Lin gave 100% effort every night. It was other factors that made his play “inconsistent” – poor coaching, Kobe, poor coaching, did I say poor coaching?

  • 1mtoldman

and yer yikes’s because of the stylish glasses on her “avatar”. of course you could compare to j. buss avatar.

  • real-dsb

    what does IG mean?

  • 1mtoldman

obviously didn’t get any tips from jeannie mai at the new year thing. those pants would defintely be going “up the chute”.

  • Dan Cohen

hec.. would been a tight game or even won if 3 of those assists got converted.. I say 3 because the layups should be counted..the jump shot I give leeway because they are harder.. same with 3 point..

so 2 layup misses (1 with johnson and 1 with hill, the 1 with ibaka was just too good so didn’t count that), and at least just 1 shot will wide open kelly or elli.

  • Dan Cohen

davis seems like a sort of solitary and quiet guy

  • linspiredinla

Hope and pray that JLin remains relatively healthy rest of season. Had some grimaces recently with right arm and left wrist. Had a fes hard falls. Nose plug. But so far so good.

  • Dan Cohen

well, at least now that might mean if lin continues to do his own game and win and well, bs continues to let him play more.
because bs will get criticize if he benches lin now or just plays him 20 minutes even when he does decent or well.

  • LAJane

Ya know…I think you’re right on that one. He’s been a very visible fan and a nice PR boost for a long time. When a guy like that publicly gives up on you…well…that’s a big shot across the bow. Better think seriously about changing course.

  • FrankW

Plus Lin got the rebound then hit by a Mac truck to the ground on the base line and no foul call.

  • linspiredinla

What a great & meaningful video!!!

  • Rick Johnson

Looks like Doc Schepler came to work with JLin over the All-star break.

  • Rick Johnson

    Reminds me of this video:

  • GoodDayLA

NO. the Offense is COMPLETELY different. Lin’s usage is COMPLETELY different.

This came from MANAGEMENT. This is no accident.

I am confident and sure Lin will continue to play like this and get this usage until the Front Office allows Byron to stop it. Till then, no matter what Byron wants to do, Lin will be put in this position game after game AT LEAST AT HOME.

Notice on the road, Byron has still benched Lin but at home, Lin is closing out.

    There’s a ton of politics.

But this will not be the end, unless the front office decides to stop this. For now, I expect to see another 10 games of this type of Lin being played.

  • GoodDayLA

The floor is now spread and the outlet on the weakside is set up for Lin to make that pass. Before it was just street ball.

Lin needed some structure and Front Office is forcing Scott to play Lin’s game.

  • GoodDayLA

I think the Lakers realize Young is a liability on and off the court though I like him personally and his game too when he is not going stupid.

  • GoodDayLA

I think Lakers are confused & so confused they are allowing Lin to play his game! I love it. Only a desperate team allows Lin to play his game and the Lakers are desperate.

Jim Buss may LUCK his way into contention by signing Lin back and then getting some bigs and guys like Novak on the CHEAP CHEAP discounts as garbage Lin can turn into gemstones.

Lakers must sign 1 ELITE PREMIER big men (NOT KEVIN LOVE) in the summer and guys like Andre Iguadala, Thaddeus Youngs etc, people Lin fans never heard of that are quality support men to make a great TEAM.

  • Yascar

    Agree. I loved it.

  • GoodDayLA

I call BS. Kobe wanted the offense to run through him alone. There were a few games Kobe tried to play with Lin though, I will give Kobe that.

But after 1 game, Kobe lost patience and gave up on it all.

  • GoodDayLA

yes they are all more pro Lin from Stu to TWC. This is what shows me the change is more real than anything outside what happens on the court.

  • oh wow.. JLin gets it!
He used CNY to bless others by bringing awareness to homelessness?
Man, I can see he collaborate with other NBA athletes to do similar charity work in the future
No wonder more and more people love him by the day!

  • John Lee

Is this even higher than during Linsanity?

  • dlin3

This explains Lin’s resurgence after the all-star break. God has refreshed his career because he refreshed the homeless. Praise to Him. “Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25

  • GoodDayLA

I noticed someone deleted my “man Lin shot an airball but he will not let that keep him down” comment. is that really necessary? The point of my comment was actually positive and supportive of Lin.

  • Nick Young got a lot of energy vampires next to him now.

    GAMES TO WATCH AT HOME:
    Knicks, Warriors, Clippers, Portland.

I am excited to see what Lin does against the Clippers on the back to back next month. First time ever Lin gets to go at CP3 for real if this current stuff holds up till then.

End the season smashing Sacramento so Vivek and Karl remember it well in free agency.

  • 7iger

  • GoodDayLA

Oh I wasn’t even thinking that. I just want Lin to pummel CP3 haha. But yes, the Lakers do care about these 2 games and a Lin style offense, if it continues to that point, will be interesting and they will have had a month of playing this style.

  • GoodDayLA

    Oops EDIT: DELETE

  • including the refs =)

  • Brent Yen

    I agree

  • I truly wish Lin will not be back to play with Kobe the PG next year.
Maybe when Kobe is really gone.
I hope he’s not tempted to come back to play under Kobe & BScott again.
Precious time is lost in his career in LA

  • Poor Coaching is BScott’s specialty! Just more lies, lies, lies..
The guy has no integrity whatsoever.. I don’t want to see him again next season coaching Lin. I hope Lin’s not tempted to sign back.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes JLin did mention this in the interview before ASG ended.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Any chance people can call this newer more mature refined Linsanity, Linsanity Prime? Credit to PFV. Could it catch on like Linsanity. Lin does not like Linsanity to be used to describe him now. He prefers that term used to describe his past. He hates it when people call him Linsanity. So hoping Linsanity Prime catches on as long as Lin continues to play the way he has been playing.

  • Brent Yen

He needs a ring or two to get rid of Linsanity…..

  • HeroBallJLIN

I just noticed every time Lin plays well the announcers mention Linsanity days and how he was so good back then. Wish the announcers can differentiate Lin playing well now compared to before. Lin has evolved. His game shows it. When announcers mention Linsanity days, it immediately takes away from his current game. Like yeah he plays well today but hes not as good as those Linsanity days. So when plays well now the sheer mention of Linsanity just puts a damper on his current well played games. Understand why Lin does not like Linsanity term thrown around too much.

  • Rookie75094

I thought no name calling…you are calling bs a big fat liar…. jk…. name calling away…hehe

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Not a worry. I understand the odd. Was a hospital chaplain and dealt with cancer patients all the time. Very familar with all the regimes, stats…. Mom also died from having terminal cancer. I was her main carer in her 16 months of fighting cancer. First hand knowledge about cancer and many many ailments that you might not even realize.

Just for you info, was trained at Dallas Parkland Hospital for a year and trained and worked at other hospitals. Assigned to oncogical, pulmonary, HIV+ and AIDS Clinical, general medicines, infectious diseases, cardiological, medical ER …. wards. Parkland is also wellknown for its Level 1 Trauma, burn…. Name it and I have dealt with many many cases that you probably never heard nor seen to. So, I know very well with all these. Not sure it’s good or bad but learned to prepare myself well.

Also willing to talk about all possibilities including most people have a hard time to deal with–dying and death. I’m a realist and not pessimistic when talking about dying and death. Talking about this doesn’t mean I’ve given up to live but be more choicy on what I want to focus on for the remaining of my life. One thing for sure I know where I’m going when I die. Whatever time that I’m allowed on this earth, I will make full use of it.

One thing I heard over and over and over again as a chaplain was how regret they were for this and that no matter the age of the dying patients were. And I made up my mind about 25 years ago (first became a hospital chaplain) I didn’t want to live in regret but live in a fullness that God allowed me to within the means that was provided for. And I have lived on this principle since then. Not executing them perfectly but I did eventually fulfill my dreams along the line. The only regret that I was unable to fulfill was to bring my mom to Yellowstone. Planned to take her when she came over for my doctoral commencement. However, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer before I was able to finish the coursework. I’ve put aside my doctoral studies and came over to Brisbane to take care of her instead. No regret on that choice even when many condemned me for my action for not putting “job” first.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    LOL

  • Brent Yen

I am still waiting for that turning pt. It should start with some broadcasters acknowledge Linsantity and then follow with the sayings like “He is a much better player now then he was during Linsanty”

  • Rookie75094

Totally agreed!!! I hate the hustun rockettes… correction…Houston rockets..hehe …. sorry Psalms 234… Freudian slip.

  • CJSHYY

Well, after I talked to my friend, somehow it maybe really make sense bc w Ellis, they don’t need PG to be playmaker just take the 3P shot & D only ! Ellis will handle the ball most of the time just like Harden so PB can fit it well w that too…?!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

It will come more readily when JLin continues this strip. The tide is almost turned around now. Getting very very close. Glad that we still have 24 games to turn the tide. He doesn’t need that many to do the task. His turn the corner will stay when he is able to practice more on the court. Few more games will do.

  • Brent Yen

THat approach will be failed miserably in play off. You need TWO capable ball handlers to make plays, period.

  • Grace Nsns

    They have CP already, lol

  • Grace Nsns

Ok PB gotta be popular then, Kobe can use him too, fat contract ahead lol

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Somehow I’m a little skeptic of JLin in Mavs because of Ellis. Once bites by snake, 10 years will scare of fake snake (direct translation from Chinese):-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

  • Brent Yen

CP is too slow to make plays….as evidently shown in HOU era and his stint in Dallas so far. Ellis was heavily depended.

Ellis has player option coming up next, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s offered fat contract by some other team in anticipation of the cap ceiling increase.

You may have missed the part where Harden was dissing PB. Seems that Bev is letting his ego get in the way and started taking too many shots for Harden’s liking. But yeah if teams aren’t following closely they might be duped into taking PB the big head.

  • Grace Nsns

    will get one.

  • Steppen

It really doesnt matter what the media, announcers said about Lin and Linsanity. Lin’s games speak for itself. Linsanity will always be part of J.Lin – that’s still the best moment (and forever) in his career. People talk about it because of its popularity.

  • Steppen

    True. Agreed!
J.Lin’s “true” abilities are always there, inside, bottled up. Just recently, he finally get a break to fully unleashed – more trusts, more playing time. This is Lin 2.0! It’s not going away. Said it all year long, he’s a 18pt & 8 guy if given a chance (consistency PT). He’s been working hard on the tempo of the game & TO issues for awhile now.

  • linspiredinla

I am getting one. It’s 100% for his foundation.

  • CJSHYY

    This summer or next year?

  • CJSHYY

W Kobe back next season, Lakers will not make it to playoff… they will be just like this season to tank on purpose for top pick again.

  • CJSHYY

I RT the tweet but not sure it’s true or just joking around? But if it’s really LF that will be fun this summer. LOL!

  • GoodDayLA

I’m a tough love Lin fan. Yet I feel I try to be fair. And so, I feel many are shortchanging the fact Lin simply is a real talent who’s talent is not limitless. I mean to say, he is no Lebron, but if you just make a few changes on the court to cater to Lin, Lin’s talent all of a sudden explodes on the court. That is why I have always believe he is a top 5 NBA PG on the level of Parker, Kyrie, Damiam, Curry etc. I have always said that and always believed that and I still believe Lin may be THE BEST PG in the NBA if catered to like these other guys.

Lin is not even playing insane basketball right now, but you can already see his talents have just been hidden the past 2 seasons. Lin makes the right pass so often and the right decisions to drive and score or drive and dish with uncanny success.

The only real reason Lin is playing well now is because the Lakers made changes wholesale to the offense and how Lin is used. Lin seems to complain through his team, management stepped in and instituted these changes, and voila, Lin looks like a different player overnight, one getting praise and kudos nightly now.

This is what guys like myself have harped on for 3 seasons. Lin is a great talent, but he is no Lebron. But cater to Lin’s strengths, and he looks like a worldbeater. Even Lebron looked like crap hiding in the corner, stuck to Wade playing like a Kobe in his prime during the finals.

To me, his “mental breakthrough” is overrated. If BS was still allowed to bullspit Lin today, a refreshed, new “I think less” Lin would still struggle badly and look marginal.

The changes on the court are so ridiculous I find it laughable nobody wants to acknowledge it except for Lin himself. That’s all that really changed.

  • GoodDayLA

Lin looked so in control and he was not even playing over his head AT ALL. You can see he has more to give than Sunday. I think anyone watching can see he just needs some better talent around him.

Imagine if Ed and Hill were the BACKUPS he got to play with and the Lakers had some REAL starters (though I like Ed and wouldn’t be mad if he started).

Imagine Klay Thompson on the weakside to catch Lin passes. Or an athletic 2 guard who can attack the rim and hit 3’s who doesn’t need to dribble all day like Demar Derozen or Harden.

I think the Lakers now see it, but its’ up to them to decide if they will pull the trigger assuming Lin keeps up this type of performance every game till the end of the season.

  • GoodDayLA

well I think IF the Lakers say OUT LOUD “THIS IS LIN’S TEAM NOW” and REHIRE MDA or put a Lin type coach and get rid of Byron, Lin should stay.

So you force Kobe to play Lin ball and if Kobe dont like it, you just bench him. As long as the Lakers are winning, they can get away with it. And Lin led ball is enough to win 80% of the time for a Lin in his prime with BETTER off season acquisitions.

A Lin led offense will get Klove 30 WIDE OPEN three’s a game and Klove is a pretty good shooter out there. Dont love KLove but I’ll live with him playing with Lin. Upgrade over Hill for sure.

  • gasparthe2

  • FrankW

According to PFV the corner has turned 7 games ago, Sure looks that way, hope Lin continues playing well. Last five games, wow!!

  • HeroBallJLIN

I just don’t like the comments that follow after announcers mention Linsanity. Like Lin is a shell of himself which he is not. He is an evolved JLin. Announcers-media do affect how people perceive JLin. To people who understand basketball and are impartial to JLin and his fans, they can understand JLin is evolving fron Linsanity days. To regular basketball fans not so much so.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Hope that can happen. Maybe when the turning point is reached then Lin can praised for his evolution.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I think this place is Five Guys burger. Lin eats out a lot contrary to what he said on mike trudell 30 min fan question interview.

  • JoeTeam

    ha ha, I got it.

  • joyce ward

This was an awesome video. Lin and his family are very kind people. Good Stuff.

  • GoodDayLA

I just realized a lot of people here are very religious and believe God or Lin’s religion and his mental breakthrough he talked about gave him newfound faith to deliver on the court rather than my opinion that the Lakers management simply stepped in and made big changes to the offense and how Lin was utilized.

Nothing wrong with either perspective but it’s interesting we all follow Lin for different reasons.

  • John Lee

The jury is still out on whether Kobe will return next season. No doubt that he would want to at all costs, but when it comes to medical issues it’s not always what one wants. I think the sudden turn of tides with Lin treatment is because something’s up, and it’s would not be too far-fetched to assume it has to do with Kobe’s condition. Additionally, Kobe looks pretty depressed during his Muse promotion events, not a sign of good recovery.

  • joyce ward

I would be very happy if it was me>>LOL

  • John Lee

If Dragic is being offered the max, it’s entirely possible that some team would offer 12M to 15M a year to Ellis for three years.

I can just hear friends after she showed them the picture. They probably were screaming and saying get the F**k out you met jeremy lin…LOL

  • joyce ward

Lin is a very bright light into some very dark places.

  • joyce ward

MVP candidate : Stephen Curry, James Harden, or Westbrook? My vote Curry. He has been playing insane Basketball this season. I don’t believe that he has had an off night. What say You?

  • John Lee

Is this even a fair comparison? I see Curry as being the only true contender here. The flopping FT wonder is no MVP material.

  • GoodDayLA

Curry is most likeable so MVP for Curry! Also top record…

but man give Jlin Klay as a running mate and I tell you man that would be awesome for both.

  • CJSHYY

    Curry too.

  • joyce ward

    True Dat…

  • CJSHYY

Can’t believe Rondo took most of the shots in 1Q vs Pelicans. 13 points 6/9?! Show case for next contract?!

  • Michael

Well you do have a chance of meeting him, the only way I will ever have a picture like that is if I Photoshop it πŸ˜›

  • joyce ward

So I guess Kobe’s documentary didn’t get the hype he thought it would be, I have not seen anything in the NBA press mentioning it, but they did show lin’s video over Allstar break.

  • guest

The story is not about Jeremy. He is trying to bring our attention and awareness to the homeless. He is trying to help us understand and not to disrespect the homeless people.

  • John Lee

I get your point, but what worthy cause Jeremy’s dedicated to makes us love him even more. He genuinely cares for people regardless of social status, while a particularly wealthy teammate can only think of himself and his documentary. The difference is night and day.

  • bolero

Also the good thing they cooked home made food , awesome.

  • 1mtoldman

agree curry but jw jinx him saying he never had an off nite. having an off nite to nite. or just resting after road trip and tough comeback 4th last nite. or because of 4 fouls. whatever probably will just come back in the 4th and win.

personally i think davis is the best player in the league but between the for mvp curry definitely

however ex king james wants to be in the running (rockets now say james harden is the new king james) and of course

westbrook the king of feb. one man show.

those are the contenders i guess.

  • 1mtoldman

a lot of people in dark places dont like light being shined upon.

  • John Lee

Ellis has only one year left, and even THAT’s a player option. Pretty unwise to sign a niche player just to accommodate someone who may or may not stay long term.

  • grover chang

How about Lin Control for this new phase? Like “in control.”

  • Rick Johnson
  • LW

It there something you know about that black woman that we don’t?

  • knibb

fake snake: rope by the well.

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Ya! I didn’t see any news on Kobe’s documentary …

  • wandertheglobe

Harden probably lost some votes because the kick-in-groin incident.

  • knibb

Here’s a clip showing how good Curry was when he was in grade 7/8 playing basketball for his school team in Toronto:

    http://www.thestar.com/sports/basketball/2015/02/26/stephen-currys-grade-8-season-at-tiny-toronto-school-remembered.html

  • LW

    A very meaningful All-Star Break!

  • linspiredinla
  • TTNN

Because he toured it the whole week already.

  • TTNN

uh, for people who want to channel his dark side for competition, would not like Lin, who has whole lot of bright side.

  • ManuGinobilin

Lol, those red buckets full of peanuts really give it away!

  • TTNN

there are people like me who are not really religious but respect his faith.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I like Linsanity Prime or settle for Linsanity 2.0.

  • linspiredinla
  • TTNN

well, compare to other NBA players who might eat out every day, he might not considered that frequent…

  • Maknusia

It was flagged and not removed by mods

  • CJSHYY

I don’t like Ellis bc he is too ISO player. But today don’t know what’s wrong w Rondo? He took more shots than Ellis & he got highest points from the team (half time so far)

  • Maknusia

    as always…

  • JoeTeam

Lol. chinese dudes love Lin too … he’s the man!

  • Maknusia

yeah, he received a technical and a game suspension

  • JC

Our world needs more people like jlin

  • JC

    Respect his character and effort

  • HY C

I can’t understand how come there are ppl out there who would down-vote JLin’s new video. smh…

  • Maknusia

Now I have my doubts…since you had been wishing the same way too much! lol

  • linspiredinla
  • takemeback2reaganyears

Because you’re not supposed to use other less fortunate to promote yourself. I don’t think Lin meant that but it is what it is.

  • JC

I’ve got the same feeling. Jeremy could kind of affect you in a positive way.

  • Rookie75094

Watching jimmer ferdett playing horrible defense and got benched I can’t help but think how amazing and special Jlin is.

  • JoeTeam

and I’d be happy if it were you too as you would share that pic and the story. I loved your foot locker adventure at the beg of the season. How optimistic we were then πŸ™‚

  • Keith

Stephen Curry all the way. Harden is good, but play dirty . I hate Westbrook.

  • Rookie75094

Carlise is not happy with rondo and Ellis tovs…..keep it up rondo…I want to see you lose another game for the mavs

  • Rookie75094

Wup…rondo is out…darn…not in to mess up the mavs

  • Keith

Lin’s pair of pants could be expensive, but it is fugly . Sorry. πŸ™‚

  • Rookie75094

    Probably racist Lohs from cf

  • Briiick

Dragic only has less than 20min PT in MIA ?

  • Rookie75094

If that is true then Cuban is not as smart as I give him credit for….smh

  • FrankW

I ran some numbers last night, this is Lin’s average for his last five games with respect to the average last five games for the others – all PER 36 minutes. The 8 point game (included in the calculations) didn’t seen too hot but still good per PFV. The other two games with 2 and 7 points (not in the calculations) was when PFV said the turning point for Lin, not looking at the numbers but the way Lin had played. Go back to PFV’s videos with respect to each of those games, its all there.

  • Rookie75094

Looks like rondo got benched and mavs went on a run… with Harris and barbera

  • Grace Nsns

5 fouls, and got injured somehow? Heats went for a run, ok for him to take a rest.

  • orLinaryjoe

Lin does that from his heart. He uses his own fame to support causes, not the other way around. Sheesh.

  • orLinaryjoe

It had a message, not for entertainment.

  • Grace Nsns

    He’s a real fan. lol

  • orLinaryjoe

Movie? Documentary? Didn’t hear about it. Did see Lin’s youtube vid for CNY.

  • blubell

When Jeremy gets benched, the other team goes on a run… hmmm.

  • Dan Cohen

I hate it too when people say it’s linsanity when he gets like 20 and 10 for just 1 or 2 games. linsanity is so yesterday. I know he is can be almost 20 and 10 if given the time and playmake so it’s not linsanity. If people say it’s linsanity again, hopefully it is just referencing his average during his first 7 games, else it’s saying 20 and 10 is his ceiling.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I didn’t question his heart, just bringing your camera crews to document it then twitted it out wasn’t a good idea for your good cause to begin with.

  • Rookie75094

    Conclusion. … Jlin》》》》》》》》rondo

  • blubell

Yay, Christine’s highlight vid is up!

  • Briiick

Rondo has 2 ASTs, the same as Ellis. It seems he is aiming to score rather than assist.

  • blubell

Ordered when it was first announced. Shipping starts in March so any time now πŸ™‚

  • Maknusia

    indeed

  • Rick Johnson

If it had been called a flagrant 2 at the time Harden would have been ejected and the Rockets would have lost.

Harden suspended 1 game for kicking James in the groin
    https://sports.yahoo.com/news/harden-suspended-1-game-kicking-james-groin-235857575–nba.html

“Harden was given a flagrant foul 1 for the play, which the league upgraded Monday to a flagrant 2, which would have been an automatic ejection if called at the time.”

  • Rookie75094

Toward the end of the game …rondo is not looking to score anymore…he is playing like a turtle right now

  • Maknusia

pretty sure of that…that was kinda low….i dont think he apologies, although it may have been spur of the moment

  • takemeback2reaganyears

A very good message, just not how you should deliver it.

-Shaq bought a truck of toys to deliver to the poor in LA when he was a Laker, he didn’t have a camera with him, just the news reporting it.

-Tony Romo invited a stinky smelly homeless to eat dinner and watch movie with him, he didn’t bring a camera crews, just the news reported it by eye witness.

  • Maknusia

    obviously….lol…you silly! πŸ™‚

  • Briiick

Poor Asik, he must be missing Lin now because no one is feeding him.

  • Rene#17

I ordered it and looking forward to seeing what he sends. It’s for his foundation and supporting the good he does.

  • Maknusia

She did and has a photo as well

  • Maknusia

Once every week, athletics are given a break from their normal diet…thats pretty norm

Even when they eat out more than once a week, they do keep their diet in check

  • blubell
  • Rookie75094

Mavs going to win despite having rondo in the game at the end….lucky…oh well. .whatever

  • orLinaryjoe

    We can agree to disagree.

  • Yascar

I get your point, but Jeremy has always been about living and leading by example. I think he only meant to show that it is good to show compassion and share good fortune with other people. That’s his testimony as a Christian.

  • Rookie75094

Funny. .I was thinking the same

  • man, just imagine if we have to watch Kobe freezing out Lin all-over again for 1-2 years. I can’t stomach it again =D

  • Rene#17

I was on cloud 9 for weeks after meeting JLin. Just couldn’t believe i got to see him. It was an awesome experience.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I truly believe his heart, just the people behind this production, not so wise and “might” hurt his belief and his cause.

In this society, we’ve seen many event like this video and they’re mostly from politician.

  • orLinaryjoe

It’s social media with a social message. Reaches the most people.

  • I agree but it’s highly unlikely Lakers will prioritize Lin next year unless more Linsanity games happen that fans got crazy

It’s Kobe retirement year next season ala Derek Jeter, maybe Lakers will woo him back in 2 yrs, that will be ideal!

  • FrankW

It would have been a no call had Lin been kicked.

  • that’s not name-calling =) no changing the names, just stating the facts of incompetent coaching is okay hehe

  • CJSHYY

Really? I watched the game only to early 3Q, Rondo run O most of the time when he was on court & he got 17 at that time. Mav won when turned off TV. He seemed to take a lot more shots than usual…?!

  • 1mtoldman

completley crazy game. dragic in early fouls. then not playing at all. then 6 technicals, 2 flagrants and 3 ejections later comes in at the end. and racks up 20 points. this game was like several different games. too weird for immediate further comment.

  • 1mtoldman

    yes he did.

  • Rick Johnson

Miller? Really? He’s always been a Byron Scott hack and Lin doubter.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Then speak to the camera to convey your message. What he did was only questioned by many.

  • CJSHYY

FO said so that’s why….From now on everything will be all good for Lin.

  • 1mtoldman

    “dont get cocky kid”.

  • CJSHYY

Why? Rondo had good O game today. But he didn’t pass the ball that much just took any chance he could to take the shot.

  • golfhacker

    Asik can’t catch.

  • 1mtoldman

how ’bout the gipper? he was a politican right? or does yer name refer to the reagan years as the gipper, ie. ronald the actor, assuming as a politician he was something else. is it safe to assume that?

  • CJSHYY

    I think so…LOL!

  • FrankW

Wow, that is insane! Hope Lin keep it up.

  • guest

Lin gave his homeless friends s platform to tell their stories.

  • 1mtoldman

it was an uncharacteristic game for rondo. he started out agressively seeking to score himself. which is entirely uncharacteristic. of the “top rated” pgs in the league (top 20 or 30 lets say and lin is not included in that) only rubio and rondo take less than 10 shots a game. but actually all rondo’s shotmaking for the most part came early.

  • Rookie75094

yes early in the game… but toward the end of the game he played like a turtle…ellis and dirk took the big shots.

  • blubell
  • orLinaryjoe

The whole point was the give the “invisible” a voice and a chance to speak. The less Lin speaks the better. The whole message was stereotypes. Again, you can disagree. I do not find issue with it.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! In 1Q, He took lots of shots?! Showcase for FA?

  • 1mtoldman

so a.d. is completley insane. but im worried about his shoulder it was a nasty fall. and i dont think was treated properly at the time. he remained in game briefly. and then came back to play again i think too soon.

clearly the next big thing in the league. think more care would be taken. but perhaps hes ok. hope so. exciting player.

  • orLinaryjoe

    Exactly. A voice.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You’re changing the topic. When I said politicians I meant the one saying only the government can make your life better or solve the people problem so let them start regulating your freedom.

  • 1mtoldman

the phnx mia game was insane. 6 technicals, 2 flagrants, 3 ejections. dragic starts out with fouls doesn’t play at all. then comes in at the end and ends up with 20.

absolutely a very very weird game. likes several separate games. but mia was basically ahead the entire time thru it all. think phnx as their fans think is in the tank.

kinda gotta blame dragic for that; forcing them to get rid of him and losing thomas in the bargain.

but then phnx fans think the team always makes bad decisions anyway so maybe dragic was right? dont know. but lots of weird stuff going on there.

hopefully they dont play each other again for awhile.

but i dont think dragic is going to find what he was looking for in mia. for the most part he seems to be third string pg behind d. wade and chalmers.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

They are not invisible, their problem is they are still waiting for the politician who promised them to fix it when running for office but……

Speaking or not, Lin allowed this production exploited him badly.

  • 1mtoldman

in other words the politicans are the politiicians whose policies you dont agree with and the politicians you do agree with aren’t poltiicanis. got it.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

In return, the video producer created millions hits and celebrity stunt. Again I only play as double advocates.

  • guest

I personally was very touched. Those are young people struggling to make it. Lin brought them a Chinese tradition and cheers.

  • linspiredinla
  • takemeback2reaganyears

They had good cause no question.

  • that’s not name-calling =) no changing the names, just stating the facts of incompetent coaching is okay hehe

  • Maknusia

    Maybe Lin could change Kobe?!

  • HeroBallJLIN

Yes I heard the PFV videos. Believe he said he started to play different after the Denver game. Style-wise he has changed meaning he does not force the action any more. He lets the game come to him as PFV said. As far as games played well, I would say so far he has played 4 good games, Hopefully he can continue to this way. I feel he will. Just the way he looking out there, hes looking great.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Probably does not eat out. Just noticed that most fans take pictures of Lin at restaurants or in stores.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Erm…. so the “A Day in the Life: All-Star Break” video is:
    1. First of all, this is one of his “Day in the Life” videos, which shows things he is passionate about – social work and basketball.
    2. He and his crew decided to hit “two kinds of two birds with one stone” – through this video he provided voice for the homeless AND used his NBA status that can help in attracting some known
organization or someone in authority to help them in a larger scale. As an NBA player, he can only do so much (give them food for a day and spend some hours with them). People, whether they admit it or not, view, listen, and can be easily manipulated by “shiny things” – media popularity, youth, etc. Jeremy is using the media platform he is given for something good and somehow to influence others who can help as well, not as an outlet to convey how much he despises another team mate or to get out of a law violation. Personally, I think they didn’t show everything he has done for the homeless.

  • CJSHYY

I think he should stay w Sun… too bad no more in charge day for him in Heat anymore.

  • Kianainhi

Someone tweeted on why teams don’t do a Hack a Rondo since his FT is 31%. This would give opp teams time to catch up. Hmmm, I never thought about it. Good idea.

  • Kianainhi

I think his reputation preceeded him as having stone hands or butterfingers. Poor Asik.

  • Kianainhi

I would vote Curry. Doing it all season.

  • Dan Cohen

what about russell westbrook? he has like 3 triple doubles.

  • JoeTeam

Thx for the writeup. I went and saw it on his stream:

Touching. Makes me want to be bigger than I am, in heart.

  • JoeTeam

Heh heh, had Lin been tussled like Len/Whitesite, no fouls yeah.

  • Kianainhi

Not if JC is a starter. If Carkson starts, it will be CP3 vs JC.

  • IsabeliJane*17

It’s good that he’s using the bigger things that he has (finances and popularity) to help others. Good combination with his big and loving heart.

  • dolphin2k2

I think he meant on the LAL team.

  • Brent Yen

    Again…..coach always speaks non-sense.

  • Dan Cohen

well, maybe I was wrong that he was adjusting..actually, no I’m not wrong..he is still adjusting.. but to his own style and thus the clash with the coach. If he can’t adjust then, he might be over the hill and ready to roll.

  • Dan Cohen

noticed that he did say that he knows he can play.. I think it was a message to grace nsns or whoever twitted him LOL.
but no seriously, I know that he thinks that lin can play. In fact, I found him to be fair a lot of times regardless. At least he is much better than stu and clyde IF he not a fan like yall said.

  • linspiredinla
  • Brent Yen

Stu is just not comparably bad..lol

  • linspiredinla
  • Filler-up

What no foul ? Lebron’s groin must have fouled Beard’s foot.

  • after 19 years of playing the same ruthless way vs other players, I found the the chance to be very remote. This season he proved he snapped back quickly the second he’s criticized & others don’t support him to be #1.

IMO It’s definitely not worth spending 2 yrs of Lin’s prime career in LA w/ Kobe

  • Acbc

There is no degree to “goodness”. There are those who are able and willing to do more than others but each and everyone of us must do our part however big or small. IMO, one on one inter personal relations affects people at depths far greater than big deeds such as big splash events that bring attention to the plights of the homeless. Both are essential to real change.

  • Brent Yen

Another note, I love LAL finally ditched that high post split non sense. Lin had so many TOVs just trying to make impossible entry passes before. What have changed is, they ran Horns instead. In this way, you still can set that down screen after the initial pass to the high post. However, the good part is if the high post is being denied, PG can opt to go with the other high post player, or quickly flow in to a high PnR. Also if you must pass, the space is larger…..harder to deflect the pass.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A real good video about the homeless.

  • real-dsb

yeah, I totally did too. I’m sure his contract with Volvo expired, so he got a different car.

  • real-dsb

Yeah, but Lin’s is actually real. Very sad, but the video you posted got revealed to be a staged video. Look it up.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A star is born; Tyler Johnson scored 26 points on 10-13 shooting.
Tyler Johnson is undrafted 2015 rookie and was waived more than once by the Heats. He played in D-league and before the end of the 2nd 10 days contract, the Heats signed him for 2 years.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That is a very good video. Well, there are haters everywhere.

  • real-dsb

It was very cool, I thought it was just going to be about food and family, but it was so awesome that he shared home cooked meal with homeless strangers.

(Just a joke comment): That was terrible chopsticks technique by Lin (both Josh and Jeremy)! Ugh. Probably leads to many turnovers (dropped dumplings). Can’t believe they taught others their poor technique. For shame. πŸ˜‰

  • Acbc

Our society is so jaded that they mistrust even those who try to do good. Yes, politicians do that all the time with photo ops. I seem to recall a republican ( R. Paul? ) did that at a soup kitchen during the last election and was caught faking it.

The issue is that Joe Public should be suspicious of those with an agenda doing photo op charity work. LIN has never had an agenda and has absolutely nothing to gain from his charity work.

Your criticism of his actions is based upon public opinion, which has not affect on what LIN does or why he does it. Haters will hate no matter what good he does. Will it stop LIN from doing it? No! Should you or I care what others think of his intent? Absolutely not.

LIN will do his charity work becasue of something inside that compels him to do good. That’s his reward and no amount of hate OR accolades would ever change that.

  • real-dsb

Could easily be accidental touch on phone or tablet. 99.7% upvote is incredible for any video.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The video allows Lin fans to focus areas other than Lin family and Jeremy himself.
It lets the homeless speak for themselves to Lin fans.
Obviously, the video is targeted to Lin fans. Lin fans need no promotion to add to the popularity of Jeremy. And because of Jeremy, I get to hear what the homeless wants to say. Is there anything that I have missed out?

  • real-dsb

There was way more publicity about Young, Hill, and Boozer than Kobe’s actual documentary.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    That is unforgivable.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    She has a gorgeous smile.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It takes a team to make a player look good!
I doubt if Linsanity would happen without Jared Jeffery, Steve Novak, Landry Fields, Tyson Chandler and Amare and more. It’s a team effort and Rondo is a part of a team. At present, it seems Rondo is trying to do too much. Perhaps he should just let the game come to him like Jeremy. Rondo is a great talent and that I admit but Jeremy is proven fitting in with Dallas Mavericks as far as playing with the ex-teammates is concerned.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It depends on how much Cuban would want to pay for his service.

  • JoeTeam

change in ourselves start the butterfly effect he he.

  • JoeTeam

Good life for the Mrs Lin and kids to come.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Players are entitled to be big-headed in contract negotiation. If there is a taker, players can go for max contract. But if not, the market value regressed. Ellis took the best offer at the time after rejecting Milwaukee.

  • JoeTeam

ha ha ate with chopsticks all my life and I hold them wrong …

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Any team with Kobe would lead to disaster.

  • Brent Yen

Lot’s of ppl do it wrong…lol

  • JoeTeam

You will live long and prosper!

  • GoodDayLA

The reason you can’t run horns playing rec ball is that all 5 guys want to be the 1 man.

  • GoodDayLA

Come on man, you know I’m talking about Lin finishing the 4th in competitve games.

  • GoodDayLA

I agree. I think Lin leaves in the summer for that reason. Thankfully the Lakers are at least letting him play his game now.

  • GoodDayLA

    thanks for the clarification

  • LW

Serena wanted Lin to stay a Laker. She clicked her heels behind the desk!

  • linspiredinla

JLin7’s new video has over 84,000 views in a very short time.

  • John Lee

I’ve done it wrong all my life, but it works for me and at least I know I’m doing it wrong. There are now training chopsticks for kids that have rings for where different fingers go, so I got a pair of each of my girls.

  • John Lee

What’s wrong with leading by example? Kobe can toot his own horns in documentary but Jeremy showing charity work is wrong? Not like he’s other promoting Linsanity DVDs while handing out food.

I completely fail to see your logic.

  • John Lee

Politicians do it for show, Jeremy does it because that’s who he is.

You say you believe his heart, but your message says otherwise.

  • LW

The homeless man can actually run, but he probably never saw Lin play or he wouldn’t have challenged Lin to a sprint.

  • John Lee

Haha, bringing your own camera men is not OK, but calling the press to tag along IS?

You’re beginning to sound like Byron Scott.

    Well said.

People see in others what they think of themselves, which speaks volume of the skeptics.

Don’t worry. I’ve never learned to use chopsticks properly. Hence, never know how to do it right. My philosophy is as long as I can get food when it’s needed, then I’m fine:-) Seldom use chopstick unless eating noodle or having meal in Chinese restaurant:-)

Jeremy Lin is more than just basketball. He is this – an inspiration , destined to touch the lives of many. God bless his giving heart. πŸ™‚

  • LAJane

It seems basically what you are saying here is that Lin’s mental attitude doesn’t have much to do with how well he plays, but is much more a function of what his owners allow him to do. I can understand that viewpoint because that’s how the great majority of humans think about their own lives – that whatever ability or ambition they have is largely at the mercy of the gatekeepers around them. Human history is full of people who have tried to push past this attitude barrier – from scholars and theologians to martial arts masters and brain scientists. Each of these disciplines has found truths and ways of being that help them see and behave outside the box, even while living with gatekeepers….”In the world, but not of it.” Lin’s way out of the box is his religion. Many of us here have other ways to strive for that kind of freedom, but we all recognize game when we see it. We appreciate and are inspired by his effort to continually open his mind and heart in response to the obstacles he’s found in the sport he loves. It’s a loop that continually feeds back into his court skills, and we have all watched this happen.

So when he says he hit a new level of relaxation and confidence during the break, why would you discount this. As it happens it coincided with some change in rotation that gives him some more play time and command of the ball. He’s been yanked around enough that he’s likely no more trusting of this program of the moment than we are, but he’s not looking over his shoulder any more. BS has even noticed the difference, but he doesn’t recognize what he’s seeing so he calls it “not overthinking”. Jeremy is thinking plenty, his court vision is like lightning. What he’s not doing now is including what is not on the court – tanking, FO politics, press and fan opinion, FA, auditioning. He’s just fully playing ball in the minutes given with who he’s given to play with. We can see the difference in his fresh pleasure and in his confident fluidity. Just because a player gets free reign doesn’t mean they find that kind of flow, and there are plenty of “star” chuckers and floppers who don’t know how to actually WIN to prove this point.

For me, the proof is in the turnovers…as in almost none. When you’re proving, auditioning, pushing, ambitious, frustrated – that’s when you get cornered and hasty, When you’re able to really give that up, you’re free to accept the truth of the moment with all its limitations and see where your ability and willpower can partner with it to make some magic. So, in my humble opinion, his “mental breakthroughs” have everything to do with how well he plays.

dont want to sound like some revered previous poster here waging war in the trenches where i have been banned it appears but ive been watching johnson for a long time.

he’s always looked good every time hes got a chance to play.

but (again) beyond all the violence it appears especially from dwades statements that (as lin in l.a.) g. dragic is not going to get what he came for in mia.

  • 1mtoldman

he forced their hand; tho arguably you could say (and i have said) they forced his hand by caving to (most of) bledsoe’s hard ball demands last time.

Well he gets a lot of hate because he is unconventional, and whether people admit it or not, they HATE ANYTHING UNCONVENTIONAL because it disrupts anything that has been perceived or has been working way before. Whether they hate him because of his ethnicity, his faith, his looks, his influence, his educational background, his basketball approach – Jeremy is an unconventional figure in the NBA.

A Series of Unfortunate Lakers Events – Part 5 The Death Stare

Place: Somewhere at ABC studio backstage
Time: Minutes after Jimmy Kimmel Live show ended

As Jimmy walked toward his stage room, a man approached with apparent annoyance.

Jimmy: Hey, you still here? I am sure the show will give your new documentary a big lift.

The Man: You sure gave the team a big prop at the expense of ME. I don’t like how you framed the first question. And you made a big deal of a meaningless win.

Jimmy: Come on, man. Lighten up. It is a talk show and it is supposed to be fun teasing each other. (Well, it is usually me poking fun Ha Ha).
Jimmy: BTW, I like your John Wayne Skull Take. It is very subtle. (Note: Check the context of the intro clip in the show)

The Man: You are totally clueless. It was my trade mark death stare.

Jimmy: Oh, OK. Now I am scared.

The Man: Make no mistake. I am not happy.

Jimmy: (Well, no one care). I am sorry to hear that. Next time I will make sure to highlight your NBA records, including clips of yours constant bricking, Triple Double with 10 TOs and countless clutch misses.

Hours later, BS was sitting on his old coach, sipping some cognac, enjoying a taste of rare victory the other night against the rivalry. A cell tone ruined the mood.

BS: Hey, man. How was the show?

    Nothing comes from the cell.

    BS: Hello …

Silence is the only thing registered.

BS: Ahem. Don’t mean to disrespect. But death stare won’t work over the phone.

Then finally a deep but shoddy voice comes from the cell: You let it happen again.

    BS: What happened?

The Voice: I thought we are clear that no more Linsanity.

BS: Oh, that. OK. I thought a win against our old rivalry overrides the narrative.

The Voice: ME is the only narrative. No one can steal the spotlight from me. Not only you let another Linsanity slip out, you let LAsanilty and Tacosanity come to live. Just looked at the fan reactions at Stapes Center. It was supposed to be me.

    BS: …

    The Voice: I want Taco.

BS: I can order some for you.

The Voice: You st*id. I meant I want to deliver Tacosanity. And you let him did it twice. TWICE.

BS: I couldn’t help. I just couldn’t stop it. Whenever the ball was in his hands, the game just came to flow itself, as if there is a life of its own. The game just began to turn tide when I put him in. Assists (oh, boys, those were beautiful assists.), points, rebounds, steals, all came, no matter how hard I tried to avert.

The Voice: Then DNP him again.

BS: I can’t. Mitch won’t allow it. Viewing and tickets sales will take a big hit.

The Voice: You better come up something.

BS: I don’t know. OK, I will try.

The Voice: You better. I still want Taco.

BS: Humm.. I can give you some burgers.

This past weekend I saw a documentary about an Indian doctor who produced generic medicines for hiv+ people from third world countries who can’t afford the name brand drugs(300/yr vs 15000/yr)…initially only 8000 can afford treatment that number reached 8 million thanks to generic drugs…now..along the way. ..his efforts were stymied by big drugs companies using patent laws to block generic drug distribution. ..even governments help protected the profits for these giant corporations. …only because of the anthrax scare where the us declared national emergency to bypass patent protection to buy generic drugs… that provided the loopholes for the 3rd world countries to buy generic hiv drugs from India. ..now the WTO appeared to shut that loophole. ..anyway ..how does this apply to Jlin video…personally I would not be aware of the generic drugs story that saved millions of people and be aware of the WHO less than humanitarian intention had I not watched that documentary. ..and i don’t think word of mouth will ever spread the message or cause to a large audience as a video or documentary would ..so I say…Bravo Jlin…keep up the great work and ignore those 19 racist haters from cf..hehe

    Chance for MDA?

  • HeroBallJLIN

Think Nuggets were interested in MDA. So its possible. Maybe Lin goes there if MDA is coach. My only concern is Lin would get over-worked which can lead to injuries. Linsanity Prime would ensue with MDA no doubt.

I’m hoping BS is the next.

Will Linsanity continue to allowed to excite LA fans?

    Go JLin!

  • Rick Johnson

Nuggets with MDA might want to recruit Lin, also looks like Rondo not fitting Mavs so they also might be targeting Lin. Perhaps if he keeps playing well and draws crowds Lakers might try to retain him but with Kobe and Scott that wouldn’t be the greatest environment for him. Maybe the Lakers will fire Scott.

  • you delivered again LOL

    The Voice: I want Taco.
BS: I can order some for you.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I highly doubt Lakers want Lin as starter. Lakers will try to sign Lin for cheap contract as back up point guard. Lakers will not sign Lin as starting point guard because of Kobe. Kobe does not like playing with Lin. Kobe wants to be play maker. Does not want Lin handling the ball as much as him.
Rondo most likely going to Lakers to play with Kobe. Rondo will gladly pass to Kobe so Kobe can continue to shoot 36% to 38% for the year again. Lakers will not make playoff in very good Western conference for final year of Kobe. Lin is better off not staying at Lakers. Basically Lakers need to rebuild after Kobe and after the team is rebuilt could take another 2 years before Lakers are good enough to make playoffs. Lin better off going to Mavs if they are willing to take him. Lin would be back up most likely. Hope Lin can come to Brooklyn, since I am in NY but probably won’t with J Jack, D Will already here.

  • Rick Johnson

They would have to sign Rondo for a 4 year max contract. That would mess them up for 3 years after Kobe is done. Mitch said he isn’t signing a high priced veteran for Kobe’s last year that would jeopardize the Lakers future. Rondo would be exactly that mistake.
