Nop. I haven’t been first for quite a while now:-) At least more than 5 threads:-)

  • 1mtoldman

well anyway i think mods should get like at least a handicap, like a time lag of some sort.

  • 1mtoldman

after dominating the game last nite against the big opponent gs lebron sitting out 2nite against indiana. also irving out. betters annoyed cause bet on cavs to beat spread and then find out “the king” not playing.

  • John Lee

NBA finally doing something about the refs. Too little and too late, but at least some action is taken in the right direction.

    what’s a quarterly box?

  • 1mtoldman

its that deal where you pay 75 bucks to some lin charity thing and you get a bunch of his stuff. (poor explanation)

  • linspiredinla

A subscription service to raise funds for the JLin foundation. Each quarter Jeremy hand selects a box of unique things to mail out to subscribers. Available in US only/

  • Arsenium12 .
  • 1mtoldman

toronto manages exactly 1 field goal as a team tonite for the entire first quarter against gs (1-19). and people are complaining about lins shooting!

  • Sophie Paris

    Lol sounds like a joke

  • 1mtoldman

    everybody loves naruto.

  • 1mtoldman

    its my comedic delivery.

  • Sophie Paris

    I prefer Kakashi

  • Charlie S

Clearly, the whole team needs to be benched

  • Sophie Paris

Yes if you order one tell me what’s in there

  • 1mtoldman

i dont order stuff on line.

  • joyce ward

Have you noticed that whenever Mitch shows up to the practice, Scott’s dialogue changes on lin. Now he wants to start him, and he doesn’t know if lin will play scoring guard or PG..yeah right. I call Scott the film flam man( always will try to spit in your face and call it rain). He is so transparent.LOL

  • joyce ward

    clearly…LOL

  • Sophie Paris

Really me I do it a lot

  • Sophie Paris

    More more lol

  • 1mtoldman

actually thats sortta what they did; 4 of 5 new players in second quarter doing much better.

  • 1mtoldman

why am i dont surprised (smh ala joyce)

  • 1mtoldman

    the adventures of: “transparent man”.

  • joyce ward

I gotta tell you that most of my African American friends that I hang out with don’t like Kobe. They find more kinship in LBJ. They are beginning to see that Lin is a baller.

  • CJSHYY

I believe if they asked Lin to be SG instead of PG then Lin will not stay for sure.

  • John Lee

An easy indicator is who Kobe tries to undermine to having the potential to steal his spotlight. So being “Kobe’d” should become an official key indicator of basketball prowess. 🙂

  • Charlie S

The old adage “actions speak louder than words” never rings more true. JLin is congruent, his actions back up his words. Kobe’s words and actions don’t

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You never stop surprising me about your analysis. I admit I didn’t see it about Mitch showing up until now.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Wish they were my friends too

  • joyce ward

I think so too. I think you and I have been on the same sheet of music when it comes to Lin and the lakers. Mitch/F/O really like lin and he is a player that will do whatever it takes to get a championship, even sacrificing his own game. Mitch/F/O are looking for players who actually get it that as a Laker you will be scrutinized to the max, and if you can endure that pressure, you are what the Lakers want, because I truly believe that Jeannie Buss is paving the way for Phil Jackson to come back and they run the Lakers organization…just some thoughts.

  • Arsenium12 .
  • joyce ward

Scott is a puppet even more so now, because he doesn’t have to split his loyalties between the Mitch/F/O and Kobe. Now he can just suck up to the F/O. These last 26 games are going to be very interesting…and the plot thickens

  • CJSHYY

    Agree. 🙂

  • joyce ward

Oh, at first they had kobe/Young, now it’s lin/kobe/randle…LOL

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Start the promotion & try everything to please Lin now… LOL!

  • joyce ward

Also according to Bossip(black gossip) the word on the street is that Kobe has to keep playing because Vanessa is gone after he retires…just sayin…

  • joyce ward

    Yep.

  • CJSHYY

    Really? Wow! …

  • joyce ward
  • Rick Johnson

Any specific reasoning? He will still be making lots of money from endorsements, shoes, sports drinks perhaps becoming a commentator.

  • Yascar
  • joyce ward

Yep. You would be surprised that the majority of the African Americans feel a real kinship with LBJ. They like him as a player and a person. They also respect his business acumen. For instance, Lebrons is an Executive Producer for a show on Showtime called “Survivors Remorse”. It it centers around a professional bb player and it is hilarious.

  • CJSHYY

    Tank…

  • joyce ward

    Kobe, the lies you tell…..LOL

  • CJSHYY

Look at Kobe’s face, how unhappy he looked…but of course now w PR & standard answer…. I think he’s not happy … Well, he & Scott will continue to try to push Lin out of his way until Lakers really signs Lin.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    What’s sohu Brent?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

The sooner he retire the more respect he can retain.

  • joyce ward

Anybody thinks mitch is going to sign Rondo to a long term contract? what say you?

  • orLinaryjoe

We’ll see how stupid he is. Personally, no.

  • Brent Yen

    A media agency in China…

  • Brent Yen

I think he has decided a price. Not max…just see if Rondo will take it or not..

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Thanks

  • 1mtoldman

philly nyk and minny all threatening to win tonite.

scott revenge vs. kidd may not be enuf to switch off tank mode.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Depend on how much but I doubt he pay too much as Rondo has not proved he’s back to where he used to be.

  • CJSHYY

    If no Lin they will.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Only if he can’t get JLin to sign but probably not the max deal to just please KB.

  • CJSHYY

    Feel the same way. 🙂

The “great Wall” has led his team to 6 straight losses in the Leastern Conference after dropping to the tanking Sixers (starting Canaan). So much for the top draft pick that’s been coddled for 5 seasons.

  • blubell

    Wow. For 5 seasons? Ridiculous.

  • 1mtoldman

7 of 26 tonite to get his 21 points. (losing to the phil team built to lose)

  • John Lee

Out-tanking Hinkie’s “finest” squad is no small feat.

  • 1mtoldman

    true dat.

  • 1mtoldman

knicks tied with det with 6 sec. two tankers possibly already to fail to “not prioritize winning” tonite?

  • Samuel

Pistons are tanking? didn’t know that..

  • John Lee

He meant Sixers (who just beat the Wizards) and Knicks.

  • Samuel

and the great “Mr. October” is 4-19 tonight, yikes..

  • Samuel

    I see..
but Sixer are in tanking mode forever, still leads them to no where, and they just traded their “ROY” MCW for Canaan ball, more tanking?

  • 1mtoldman

3 years away from being 3 years away and yet some people think hinkie is a “genius”.

  • Samuel

Isn’t he a Harvard grad like Lin?

  • John Lee

    Make that 4-20. 🙂

  • John Lee

Stockholm syndrome, the Philly fans have lost their sanity after so much tanking.

  • Samuel

He saves it for October I guess..

  • Samuel

lol, Mr. elite shot a sky rocking 17.4% from the field since ASB, and 37% overall this year, no wonder Rocket fans miss Lin so bad now..

  • 1mtoldman

bev/harden combined 5 for 22 2nite. losing to nets. in houston.

  • IsabeliJane*17

For some reason I thought Bossip is Boy-Gossip because the topic is a male sportsman.

On the other hand, I think if Kobe is set out financially for life IF and ONLY IF he managed his finances clearly. The guy can still survive with all his shoe deals and endorsements.

  • John Lee

Karl’s pretty good with the Kings, and the Spurs could really use a hand from Lin.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Praising Jordan Clarkson.

  • kittyhead

Do they really miss Lin or just want an old scapegoat? lol

  • blubell

yup both LAL and Bucks feed.

  • Dorothy

    Rox won by 4 points.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Insider agendas.

  • John Lee

Both. They really miss Lin the scapegoat. They can diss him even when the team wins.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Change my feed to Bucks now:-)

  • IsabeliJane*17

What I like about watching LA games now is I have time to do something else until Jeremy comes in the game.

  • Keith

    Bucks have not praised Jordan

  • Grace Nsns

Harden the flip flopper, the rookie got cheated.

  • blubell

They did on the pregame show

  • IsabeliJane*17

I would have bought a Hollywood night jersey if they only treated Jeremy right….

  • Keith

    oh. ok..

  • takemeback2reaganyears

LOL, Clarkson got beaten, Stu went nobody there helped. smh.

  • blubell

I think Jeremy is coming in after this timeout…

  • blubell

Says the same thing for Price too but never for Jeremy.

  • blubell
  • 1mtoldman

knicks and phillie the two prime competitors for the tank crown both win 2nite: does that give l.a. more leeway to win because competitors did or do they need to seize the opportunity to gain ground?

  • Dorothy

    Lin in

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Hottie 17 coming in

  • 1mtoldman

    manny?

  • IsabeliJane*17

That Clarkson no-look to Boozer has tutored-by-Jeremy all over it.

BS would probably force the Clarkson-Boozer pairing to death like he did with Price-Davis.

  • joyce ward

Is lin? what is he doing?

  • grover chang

At first clarkson looked like a mess, but I think he has studied and improved. He looks like he could become a good pg. at least now he is looking to pass.

  • blubell

    33333333333333

  • Dorothy

    33333333333333333333

  • grover chang

    They look pretty sharp.

  • John Lee

Well, one has to be pretty dumb NOT to improve when tutored by guards like Nash and/or Lin.

  • blubell

COme on Ed. that was a beautiful pass by Jeremy.

  • grover chang

Don’t pass to hill he just stops the ball

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Scooped!

  • Gigi

My birthday wish today is for Jeremy to have a good game! Let’s go J-Lin!!

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Happy Birthday to you…

  • Grace Nsns

    Happy BDay!

  • John Lee

Happy Birthday! How does it feel to have Jeremy work hard to make you happy on the special day?

  • grover chang

The two asian guards making it work

  • Gigi

    Thank you! 🙂

  • orLinaryjoe

Well Happy B, here it comes!

  • sws94

Made a 3 and a driving lay up. Looking good. 5 points and an assist.

  • kauaiblue

    Clarkson is not asian

  • HeroBallJLIN

    blasian

  • grover chang

    He is half Filipino

  • Alaingrvis

Lin and clarkson backcourt wow I would of never thought it would look so good

  • orLinaryjoe

    The fil part is

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Have a very blessed birthday!

  • blubell
  • Gigi

Ha! Well, I am easily pleased so that three and layup is pretty good for me. Lol

  • Brent Yen

Well…let put it this way, when the shots are falling, every thing looks good.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I’m liking it so far. Still prefer if Lin had the ball more

  • 1mtoldman

clarkson played the whole first quarter so lin should get the point the second. no one else!

  • orLinaryjoe

Wait til he gets 30 mins

  • Brent Yen

    Happy BDAY!!!

  • Alaingrvis

Well that’s true lol but give the rookie credit

  • blubell

    With BS… who knows.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I have a good feeling Lin will score 20 pts and 5 asst this game. Just have a feeling for some reason

  • TTNN

I just hate that Hill long 2.

  • grover chang

Lol. My favorite part of the Lakers now is that BS can’t rely on his old trick of just juggling the line up to disrupt game flow. The team has played so many combos they have experience playing with any line up BS tries. I think we are going to see the end of completely useless line ups

  • blubell

    never passes back out.

  • blubell

    Dishing and scoring!

  • Brent Yen

    I just hate that Hill…..

  • IsabeliJane*17

For some reason, Lamarcus looks good shooting a long 2. Jordan Hill? ugh.

  • 1mtoldman

and he only has 9 players to work with so less combinations to mess it up 10 i guess. but he hasn’t played black lately

  • blubell

    NIce Drive.

  • HeroBallJLIN

    usually doesnt jump either

  • orLinaryjoe

    LINNING!

  • orLinaryjoe

JL likes hillsong, not hill long

  • Grace Nsns

    lol

  • IsabeliJane*17

Thanks for rebounding and shooting that missed 3, Ed!

  • orLinaryjoe

    Edddddd!

  • HeroBallJLIN

Lin meant to miss that 3 so Davis can get the easy lay up. 🙂

  • Brent Yen

Lin was like……..Hxll no I am not gonna foul…

  • blubell

    7p/2r/2a and counting 🙂

  • grover chang

Lin sneaks some pushes in defense. Learned that from boozer. Old man game trick.

  • blubell
  • blubell

He is very active on both ends.

  • grover chang

I think if the other guys refuse to pass to hill unless he is posted near the basket this team effiency would jump.

  • Promo Sports World

Get busy jlin lets get 16 plus

  • blubell

booo. clarkson is back. Jeremy out.

  • Brent Yen

The more Hill and Wes have the ball…the worse…..

  • blubell
  • orLinaryjoe

    Ellington inconsistent.

  • grover chang

    Only 11 minutes first half

  • orLinaryjoe

    Boooooooo

  • 1mtoldman

took exactly 44 sec to go from a 5 point lead to a 1 point lead. (from the time lin went out)

  • blubell

Wes is the worst of the two i think.

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • HeroBallJLIN

Lin played 11 min straight, so basically one quarter

  • Michael

    They love eating that clock.

  • blubell

    nom nom.

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

Why was Clarkson not calling any plays?

  • blubell
  • orLinaryjoe

    Ko-me attitude

  • blubell

    Does he know how to?

  • blubell

    Yup iso iso.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Clarkson with 17 min played already in first half. Can’t recall if Lin ever got that much play time in a half. Don’t think so.

  • blubell
  • 1mtoldman

lakers allow more uncontested 3’s than any team. scott doesn’t know how to use the 3 (doesnt believe in it like analytics and santa) and also doesn’t know how to defend it.

  • Brent Yen

If Lin plays for Bucks now, this is would be already in garbage time. Buck’s bigs are not great but active..

  • Michael

3’s don’t win games so lets not defend them 😛

  • sws94

    2nd half maybe. Not sure.

  • TTNN

they have three guard rotation, Lin 24, Clarkson and Ellington 36 each.

  • Brent Yen

If Nash really helped Clarkson. I think he asked Clarkson to always shoot…unless he is 200% sure there is an assist opportunity..

  • blubell

Even though LAL are down to 3 guards, Jeremy plays the least minutes of the 3 and barely plays over 20 minutes.

  • 1mtoldman

    36/24/36

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well BS wants to lose without JLin.

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • linspiredinla

Half time highlights all about Clarkson, none about Lin

  • grover chang

Why doesn’t lin work with Nash

  • Brent Yen

Lin is way beyond that stage..

  • John Lee

It’s no use, at the end of the day the press is still more interested in interviewing Jeremy.

  • Filler-up

I think Lin will finish with some good stats this game.

  • Brent Yen

He already got good stats lol

  • BobbyH

If Nash really helped Lin. I think he asked Lin to always pass …unless he is 300% sure there is a score opportunity.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Not going to get excited with this shameless org.

  • Brent Yen

LOL….Nash did, per Lin’s interview months ago

  • grover chang

To clarkson credit he is improving

  • HeroBallJLIN

Even when Lin started, Lin never saw 36 min. Lin could easily avg. above 20 pts if given 36 min

  • blubell

So he should end up with better stats 🙂

  • Filler-up

Staying under the radar. Don’t worry. Teams that use Sportvu will see the results. Only Lakers don’t.

  • blubell

the student has become the master. lol.

  • Alaingrvis

Problem with clarkson he is being used as a number one option this is silly. He is on fire yet we are losing. If it was Lin on fire like him we would not be losing. He has to learn to play like this with less of the ball. The stats he gets this year is fools gold

  • Brent Yen

    You are asking too much

  • blubell

    TWC now praising Jeremy.

  • CJSHYY
  • Brent Yen

    AFTER CLarkson….

  • 1mtoldman

yeah if he just duplicates his first half in the second i think thats fine.

the key time tho is the minutes he gets when clarkson gets his break. thats when he can do something. that was the story in the first half and the time the lakers held their lead.

  • BobbyH

I think Nash helped too much. He should asked Lin to score/pass 50/50. Well, I guess it all depends on what defense gives.

  • CJSHYY

He is starter… Anyway, 25 games to go.

  • blubell

Well, he is the leading scorer…

  • Filler-up

Three wins in a row will likely piss off half of LG.

  • BobbyH

Humm, why Lakers not using Clarkson’s image as TWC did. Plot thicken ….

  • CJSHYY

BS doesn’t know or understand any of these… to him. Fake injury for player to DNP so the team can tank to get the top draft it’s his best skill as a coach.

  • blubell

But it will make Jeremy happy. That’s all I care about 🙂

  • John Lee

Turf of different factions within Lakers’ F/O.

  • CJSHYY

    I think so…

  • CJSHYY

Bc FO wants to put Lin….

  • Brent Yen

Starters are collapsing right in front of our eyes..

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think Lakers wants to win… from first half, guess Lin will not close the game today.

  • BobbyH

After DNP, the rift already broke. Doesn’t matter any more.

  • blubell

    What else is new? lol.

  • Brent Yen

See….once JC is asked to not shoot, the offense collapsed…you have to stay with what you CAN do

  • CJSHYY

Plus MCW is bad in O & D that’s why JC can score so easy today.

  • CJSHYY

Bucks is weird why took MCW ? He is not good.

  • Brent Yen

MCW looks weird for some reason…

  • Arsenium12 .

I’m doing other things while the game is on. I just found this funny.

    https://twitter.com/MarkG_Medina/status/571534431892078592

  • CJSHYY

I thought Bucks is not tanking anymore but why got him? The old PG is a lot better than MCW.

  • John Lee

Clarkson now -9 and Ellington (0-5) -12, Wes (0-3) -10. Jeremy the only play in the +.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Ellington off tonight. 0 for 5. Ellington tends to shoot first before passing. He trying to get his money for FA this summer.

  • grover chang

Man I would totally buy that black sleeved jersey if things had gone the way we hoped at the beginning of the season.

  • sws94

One thing is becoming apparent. Clarkson can score points.

  • Brent Yen

    That’s his value exactly…

  • HeroBallJLIN

-9 for Clarkson but hes playing pretty good

  • MoominFloren

I guess this is a boring game….let me know when Lin enters.

  • Filler-up

Need to sit Ellington and play Lin with JC/

  • John Lee

Guards who can score points are dime a dozen. Those who can elevate the team, on the other hand…

  • Brent Yen

He will after the TO I think

  • Filler-up

    He’s a 6’6″ PG that’s why.

  • John Lee

You gotta realize, he went from +7 to -9.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I think he will be in after timeout.

  • Brent Yen

    are a dozen dime? LOL

  • Filler-up

Starters are not getting it done.

  • MoominFloren

Time to watch the game then. Thx

  • blubell

Sub in for Ellington… his shooting is horrible tonight.

  • Brent Yen

I think it is about his hair

  • blubell

    They’re not the real starters.

  • John Lee

Au contraire, the starters ARE getting in “done”.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I actually prefer JC with Lin. Ellington rarely passes the ball outside, either he shoots or passes inside

  • Brent Yen

Again, stupid to double from strong side..

  • HeroBallJLIN

I like Booz yelling. He goes for rebound and yells “give me dat”

  • blubell

    Nice D by Jeremy.

  • John Lee

Lin-Davis finally getting time together, and BS puts in Hill to clog up the lane. GENIUS!!!

  • blubell

Jeremy sure knows how to excite a crowd.

  • grover chang

Lin working hard but team just hasn’t changed the momentum. Keep plugging away. Still have time.

  • CJSHYY

    They want to tank…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Ellington 0-6 with 0pt with 24:24 min

  • sws94

    Spacing isn’t good.

  • grover chang

I don’t believe the players do.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I really dislike Clarkson playing pg.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Ellington told to tank by BS

  • grover chang

Look at the Bucks passing. Got Lins head on a swivel try to figure where he needs to help

  • CJSHYY

But if FO asked them … they have to do it.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Lin would be better, next is Price then Clarkson

  • MoominFloren

    Coz he’s never a PG

  • grover chang

Lin, become the deer hunter !

  • Rick Johnson

Hill 2/10 stop shooting those long 2’s

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Bs system

  • stam

I’m the biggest Lin fan but stop passing to jordan and don’t throw that stupid buzzer shot it hurts your FGA lol

  • PPP

    so boring, yawn…

  • grover chang

I recall hill use to be a hustler. Big rebounder defender guy. He is so not u productive to the team now.

  • blubell

Let’s go Mr. 4th quarter. you’re the PG now.

  • MoominFloren

    Should quit watching now

  • HeroBallJLIN

Lin needs to take charge of this game. Take more shots, make more drives, needs the ball in his hands first before he can do anything.

  • grover chang

Next time hill calls for the ball just make him screen your man.

  • grover chang

Lin is the best player on the court. He is the lakers only hope.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Oh no JLin is playing with all the tankers except Davis

  • Rick Johnson

    Take Hill out for Boozer.

  • John Lee

No way, Boozer sucks at clogging up the lane and is a better defender than Hill.

  • grover chang

That defense was all lin lol

  • joyce ward

I will so glad when lin is gone from this stupid team..smh

  • blubell

    very aggressive.

  • Rick Johnson

Would be more productive than Hill. 3/12 SMH

  • blubell

Jeremy getting hot and Lakers on a run!

  • IsabeliJane*17

    That jumper that jumps…

  • CJSHYY

Me too bc I believe Lakers will tank for years to come… smh!

  • blubell

    BS foul!

  • John Lee

Exactly, which is why Boozer should NOT be in. BS trying to throw the game away.

  • blubell

    Beautiful pass to Ed!

  • IsabeliJane*17

Bill yeah you got that right. J and Davis have good chemistry…

  • stam

    such a bad call…

  • stam

i saw BS face he looked pissed when they made the comeback lol

  • Brent Yen

Lin simply can impact the game from too many dimensions..

  • grover chang

Beautiful LINSANITY when the whole team is clicking and helping and having fun. Thank God.

  • sws94

He does it again, leads them back and brings the lead down.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He doesn’t want to win… maybe soon Lin will be out… smh!

  • Alaingrvis

To be fair he always looks pissed

  • John Lee

Now Ellington will be benched for making that 3. BS: “He was tanking so well up until that 3.”

  • IsabeliJane*17

He can impact me.. I mean the team.. whenever he’s on the floor.

  • stam

    LOL!

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

Ya! But too bad w this coach…

  • MoominFloren

    hahaha

  • John Lee

Too much information…you’re a bad, bad girl!

  • kauaiblue

    Lol… u r so naughty

  • CJSHYY

    Haha! I agree….

  • Rick Johnson

Scott: “Jeremy we’re trying to tank here”

  • blubell

Jeremy: that has nothing to do with me

  • IsabeliJane*17

Seeing Mark Wahlberg reminded of that “thunder” song he sang with Ted. Would be appropriate for next game vs Thunder.

  • blubell
  • kauaiblue

Really dislike him… he wrecked this guys life through a racist rant

  • grover chang

On the pick and roll the only way to defend lin is to foul him

  • IsabeliJane*17

I thought that man forgave him?

  • grover chang

That’s the hill I remeber, hustle

  • blubell

    That was cute, JEremy 🙂

  • grover chang

Johnson second most three on the team

  • blubell

    Well, this is exciting!

  • grover chang

    Did lin just block that

  • grover chang

Scott looked confused. What we are up. How did that happen?

  • stam

I thought jeremy blocked it we need to review this…

  • Filler-up

    Steal and deal
    Lin to reward the Wellington

  • stam

To be fair.. he always looks like that lol

  • Rick Johnson

    Exactly what I was thinking

  • stam

Lin with an assist too lol

  • Filler-up

JLin getting Wes going. Got Wellington going. Look out.

  • blubell

    Everybody points at Jeremy 🙂

  • blubell

    11p/5a/3r and no TO

  • stam

he should have gotten a charge for that…

  • Rick Johnson

    Good Hill out

  • Solo

The only legit PG is on the floor !!

  • blubell

    6 assists!

  • Brent Yen

You give Lin enough options, he stands out

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Lin makes everybody better.

  • Hans

Stu is praising Jeremy like I don’t recognize him

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Ellington got zero points playing with Clarkson. All of a sudden he becomes a double digit scorer.

  • grover chang

    Wellington!

  • IsabeliJane*17

Jeremy-Ellington back court or Jeremy-Clarkson back court?

    (Why did I even ask?)

  • blubell

We want tacos chant will start soon 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

If BS wants to tank, he has to take out Jeremy now.

  • IsabeliJane*17

I’m chanting “I WANT JEREMY LIN!!!” here.

  • blubell

    Jeremy Lin effect.

  • stam

I want jeremy to hit 2 more shots!!

  • blubell

    THat is always implied.

  • grover chang

Ellington. Lin handles the ball more. But all good as long as no ball stopper. Kobe, young, and hill

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    26 minutes.

  • Brent Yen

2 more 4 points plays!!! LOL ok ok I know I ask too much

  • Rick Johnson

All three, They could have Ellington at 3 and Johnson at 4.

  • yesss…. Half-Linsanity tonight?
    Lin 11pts/6a/4reb

Maybe OT to get Triple-Double LOL

  • OT for a chance for Triple-Double!

  • IsabeliJane*17

Changed my chant: ” I want tacos ON JEREMY LIN NOW”

  • grover chang

Just win baby. I don’t care if lin scores 0 or next 10. Just win.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    ZERO TO.

  • Double-Yessss!

  • John Lee

    I saw what you did there… = _,=

  • IsabeliJane*17

If they lose this game, it’s on Jeremy’s TO… oh wait…

  • golfhacker

Maybe make one more shot for 5/10 50%.

  • grover chang

What a pass and what a catch. Lin to davis

  • blubell

Just let her be… She is in her happy place…

  • Brent Yen

    Hill coming in….so….tanking……..adjustment?

  • Lin needs to attack since others can’t make plays

  • LAJane

    IJ in rockin’ form tonight!!

  • It’s …. OVAAAAH!

  • Brent Yen

Someone’s tanking plan is not working…

  • LAJane

Too little, too late. Falling down on the tanking job.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has avoided doing too much and made no mistakes.

  • stam

I hope lin gets one more assist or one shot in! please!

  • IsabeliJane*17

I’ve seen the Lakers team HAPPIER after the ASG break…

I see Jeremy in his HAPPIEST as a Laker after the ASG break.

  • sws94

He did, led to the put back by HIll.

  • yes, one more drive and 2 FTs to seal the game!

  • sws94

He’s figured out how to limit his TOs.

  • blubell

While Jeremy’s winning plan is working!

  • grover chang

Linning. Even if the defense loads up on lin so he doesn’t get a clean shot he stops them on other side. Whole team contributes and could celebrate together.

  • yes, that was good decision indeed!

  • John Lee

Come on, one more bucket for FREE TACOS!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Missing shots turned into offensive rebounds and layups.

  • grover chang

I think after lin got to rest he decided to dominate games. Playing both ends of the court.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Subway should give sandwiches instead… with Jeremy as their Sub of the Game

  • blubell

Yeah, Jeremy, give these nice people their tacos!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Why put Kelly in there? He only fouled.

  • Jeremy’s great defense to impede Bayless’ drive led to the Bucks TO and runaway dunk.
    Good D by J!

  • pandaboy99

Lins plus minus is +17 crazy

  • Rick Johnson

Do need 100 or over 100?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Taco time!

  • blubell

    THat is LInsanity.

  • grover chang

    Smart

  • Yesss… great decision by Jeremy!
    2 FTs, baby!

  • orLinaryjoe

    Free throws!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

BS has been taking away his favourite targets, Boozer and Davis.

  • Jeremy will get you all TACOS, Lakers fans!

  • blubell

    TAAAACCCOOOOOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • stam

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • grover chang

    Tacosanity!

  • stam

that was a really smart move!

  • sws94

    solid game for Lin tonight

  • your wish is granted =)

  • MoominFloren

YES !!!! Taco plus 3 win in a row !!! Are you mad Kobe?????

  • Rick Johnson

Lin +17 highest on the team.

  • TACO-SANITY!!!!!

  • LAJane

I can’t stop laughing. Lin, Lin, Lin! He’s just such a joy.

  • blubell

    nice rebound! more points!

  • stam

If he can make it these 2….

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    What an explosive 4thQ

  • nodomo

Tank commander wants to win against Jason Kidd. Despite Clarkson shooting well, BS plays Lin 18 straight minutes from the 3rd quarter and the entire 4th quarter.

  • Jeremy, the ICE-MAN!

  • grover chang

Look at lin run down 50/50 balls and help on defense. He was determined to win. He knows they had it last time

  • IsabeliJane*17

LINACOS (Lin + Tacos) would be nice

  • blubell

    WIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN!!

  • Brent Yen

Lin and MCW talking…they know each other?

  • grover chang

Let’s celebrate. Cmon kobe could eat it. The lakers won three in a row as a team!

  • John Lee

Lakers audience will remember Lin as the official FREE TACO bringer, both times without Kobe.

  • blubell
  • sws94

Probably Lin just saying good game to him.

  • stam

    jeremy’s at +18

  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

When Clarkson paired with Ellington, Clarkson did all the scoring and Ellington got zero points.
When Ellington paired with Lin, he got his double digit scoring back.

  • Rick Johnson
  • pandaboy99

    nah it showed up +17

  • blubell
  • LAJane

    AS USUAL.

  • Alaingrvis

    Wow

  • grover chang

I expect a woohoo from PFV tonight!

  • KL

    14, 5 and 6. No TOs. +18 Wow!

  • blubell

    Warning 🙂

  • stam

Lin performed way better than bayless…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The worst +/- rating -6 went to Jordan Clarkson, the top scorer, 16 points.
Lin has an awesome +/- rating +18. The game was won by 8 points.

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Jeremy the harbinger of tacos…

Seriously I’ve never seen him happiest as a Laker now.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Lin is very good in cut down his TO now.

  • orLinaryjoe

Fans couldn’t care about box score, but free tacos they remember.

  • Brent Yen

    why bring Bayless up?

  • Rookie75094

RPG17 the antitank juggernaut is keep on rolLINg..hahaha

  • George Livingston

Yeah……but Jeremy doesn’t make other players better.!

  • blubell

The next highest is from Kelly with +10… thanks to Jeremy.

  • blubell
  • grover chang

It’s really not fair. Lin is the best player for both teams. Given minutes the lakers had the best guy and should have a high chance of winning.

  • kauaiblue

People love playing with our boy

  • Alaingrvis

So with out Lin the lakers lose by 10 points

  • leeda harun

    thank you.God.

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • Arsenium12 .
  • joyce ward
  • sws94

Question, team better without Nick? I think so, because all he does is shoot. Dribble and shoot. If he hits them, good. If not, he can kill the flow. I like his personality, but his game is one-dimensional.

  • blubell
  • blubell

    Is it really BS coaching?

  • Alaingrvis

well playing best players will make it seem that way

  • Brent Yen

I do not think so tho…well the coach is BS so….it is pointless to argue. But NY and JC have their value, it is up to coach to use it…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Horay said it. Right?

  • grover chang

    Amen

  • pandaboy99

Lin never gave up on ellington who was 0-6, then ellington caught fire off those open looks from Lin assists. thats linsanity

  • IsabeliJane*17

LOL. Kobe ain’t happy they’re winning without him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

All he did was to foul!

  • blubell
  • KL

I noticed that about Nick right from preseason. That’s why he should never start. If he is shooting well, play him. If not, bench him. He is still better than Kobe though, cause at least Nick works hard on defence.

  • orLinaryjoe

Without the ball hog, Lin leads a rag tag group of “softies” to turn the game around, and off the bench mind you. Familiar story line? Linsanity+

  • blubell
  • grover chang

You mean that softie who takes charges, and blocks centers. That softie?! LOL

  • blubell
  • KL

Scott could be in danger of losing his job soon if they keep winning like this. Lol.

  • orLinaryjoe

These guys should be on the Jimmy Fallon show to celebrate!>Jimmy Kimmel.

  • blubell
  • LAJane

The “death stare” isn’t working anymore. The mojo is gone hahaha.

  • joyce ward

I personally think Scott is gone after this season. That way Kobe will be reluctant to come back…LOL

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • IsabeliJane*17

Why does BS looks quite unhappy in his postgame conference? OH wait…

  • Brent Yen

BTW….one thing Lin has changed after ASB. He now throws the ball up when stuck…it worked wonder. I remember there was a stat saying floaters are low %age, but when used right, 80% of the miss will become offensive rebs..Lin did that, using layups which has less bounce, easier for trailing bigs to finish.

  • orLinaryjoe

    So yesterday, 80’s.

  • Rick Johnson

I like Ellington on the floor with Jeremy more than Young.

  • blubell
  • Keith

    Just “something”

Scott on Lin: "the last few games he is getting into a groove and has been doing some things."— Bob Garcia IV (@bgarcia90) February 28, 2015

  • Kwok Wai Lai

7 points and 4 assists in the 4Q for Lin.

  • BuzzerBeater

Just watched the end of OKC-POR and poor westbrook got a knee on the side of his head and got a noticeable dent, omg

  • IsabeliJane*17

    He’s doing his job,you……

This coach reminded me of a credit-taker supervisor

  • KL

    I really wish that!

  • pandaboy99

lol BS cant even say good things

  • Linja

Old fa’t couldn’t even say “some (good) things.”

  • Sophie Paris

Keep playing good jlin it’s your ticket to free agency ^^

  • blubell

Why is it alway a backhanded compliment? He was gushing over Ellington.

  • stam

Hope he is doing that intentionally instead of a to just a fgm

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin played the entire 4Q and Lakers scored 36:21 against Milwaukee.

  • Rick Johnson

Kelly’s contribution was that he wasn’t Jordan Hill.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

That is despite the crazy rotations and keeping Boozer away from him.

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

Bc that’s not what he wanted… plus Ellington is his guy.

  • LAJane

He’s just compulsive about dousing anything good with a bucket of cold water. Seems to be the only way he knows to try to wrench the attention back around to himself.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Looking forward to some more crazy celebration.

  • Arsenium12 .
  • Gigi

Hey, at least he let him finish the 4th quarter. It’s baby steps…lol but for real, I can’t wait til Jeremy gets away from Byron ugh

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This coach can’t win and can’t loss when it’s needed.

  • blubell

Playing the right way will do that.

  • joyce ward
  • Linja

    only on Lin.

  • BuzzerBeater

I knew Jeremy’s struggles last game were from playing in Utah. He was back to business tonight.

He’s really got some good momentum going, great way to end the season.
And another win to ruin the Lakers’ tank, I love it. Dont let them get a good draft pick Jeremy 😛

  • stam

Isn’t that the opposing bench pg? I’m not really sure about the bucks but the commentors kept talking about him being the 4q guy

  • CJSHYY

That’s the way supposed to be… pay to see a game for fun not to see stone face….LOL!

  • blubell
  • LAJane

Always on Lin, but he’s been freely dissing anyone on the team he thinks is not bowing to him enough.

  • Brent Yen

Bayless is a really good player IMO….just get over looked a lot..

  • stam

What is he doing differently that makes him cut his to? Is his handling getting better?

  • grover chang

Wha wha… What a Debbie Downer. Can’t believe this was the same guy who finished the breaks during showtime.

  • Rick Johnson

TWC keeps praising Clarkson he had the worst +/- of -6 of the team. Dont just look at individual stats but how the whole team was doing. SMH

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Nathan is on fire tonight.

  • Linja

Yes, and scored 36 in 4thQ. against 21.

  • grover chang

Good point. I like to call those Allen iverson assist. LOL.

  • Sophie Paris

Lol yea they’ll not win the chip but at least they can have fun and enjoy winning again.

  • Linja

Sorry, what or who is TWC?

  • Sophie Paris

    He’s happy lol

  • Rick Johnson

Put that back! Kobe said no celebrating!

  • blubell
  • blubell

He is in his happy place 🙂

  • Rick Johnson

    Time Warner Cable, James Worthy

  • Sophie Paris

Kobe isn’t even watching games if he doesn’t play

  • Linja

    Oh, that Old Fa’t.

  • blubell

Will Jeremy be the Player of the Week?

  • IsabeliJane*17

Jeremy’s locker room interview now at TWC. I kinda miss seeing his bottle of Head and Shoulders shampoo. All I’m seeing is this sort of white FedEx envelope, his plastic bracelets, and a small box which looks like a box of staplers.

  • Keith

Spanish channel interviewing tonight best Lakers player , Jeremy Lin.

  • CJSHYY

He’s a friend of BS… he’s probably just helping out BS to say let JC start as PG so they can tank…

  • Brent Yen

    NO

  • CJSHYY

    From where?

  • blubell

    Well that was harsh. lol.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Way to go blocking the celebration here, @brentyen:disqus

  • blubell
  • Brent Yen

    LOL….you know how NBA works…

  • blubell

Are you Kobe or Scott or… both?

  • pandaboy99

these games are now becoming about how can lin get out of the hole the starters have created in the first and third

  • Brent Yen

that is classified….just like my tank plan

  • blubell

He is busy counting his money.

  • blubell

You just revealed your plan by saying “tank”…

  • IsabeliJane*17

Blocking foul on the happiness here.. should be a charge..

  • blubell
  • Keith

I was listening to Bucks feed. Bucks announcers : “Bucks need to contain Jeremy Lin ” . Bucks understand Lin was the key.

  • blubell

    Darn refs aren’t calling it!

  • Rick Johnson
  • LAJane

He wanted the win against Karl, but nothing about it tastes sweet for him. He couldn’t control his own emotions and let the team loose to win when what he’s paid to do is suck it up and be the iceman for the tank. So no attaboy from the FO for letting that pick get less certain. And to do it he had to play Lin, which he really really would rather not. And lastly, LIN WON, so he has to watch that nauseating celebration. With tacos. Grrrr. 😀

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Well Jeremy’s a bulldozer so…

  • blubell

Yup, it is always the opposing team that recognizes how deadly Jeremy is.

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Swallowed their whistles.

  • Rick Johnson

Mitch should have traded JLin to Dallas to preserve the tank.

  • blubell

    heimlich maneuver?

  • IsabeliJane*17

Maybe nobody gave him tacos so he’s sulking?

  • LAJane

As if. This poor guy is just jumping through his own backside trying to sound competent.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Unless it’s Joey Crawford or Violet Palmer… good luck with that

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • blubell
  • Arsenium12 .
  • blubell

    BS was simply desperate.

  • blubell
  • Arsenium12 .

  • blubell

    Footwearfoot is fast.

  • deesee5

That’s okay. OKC will tow it back..

  • blubell
  • takemeback2reaganyears

Double team, trapping, what more can they do?

  • LAJane

OMG, laser vision LOL. Lookit all the juicy details I’ve been failing to notice! IJ Superfangirl! Wonder what he needs all those staplers for ;-D

  • blubell
  • Briiick

WOW, Lin was instrumental to this win!

  • IsabeliJane*17

I’m not sure if it’s indeed a box of staplers but the size looks like it. Maybe it’s breath mints or other small stuff 🙂

  • LAJane

    Lovin’ the smile!

  • IsabeliJane*17

Wayne your realization is soooo late, he’s been picking team’s defenses ever since he started playing in the NBA, but I don’t blame you.

  • Jedi

Not with Westbrook going off like that.

  • blubell

I mean TWC’s player of the week.

  • grover chang

Yeah it always works better when Lin plays traditional PG. And the sg plays SG! Kobe are you paying attention?!

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • blubell
  • blubell
  • Briiick

BS wanted a win against Kidd, but he couldn’t sound like he’s happy because Kobe was not happy about any win without him as THE MAN.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    $$$$$$$$$ Coming. I know because I’m Asian

  • JoeTeam

Thank you all for these great posts – I went to see an old friend and missed everything. So nice, all the great plays since ASG.

  • Linja

That is Lin, a true Witness.

  • blubell
  • JoeTeam

honestly, the games don’t matter so he can just relax and play very well. This is a whole spring of exhibition ball for JLin, probably a nice rest before the next hard run next year.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

My head is sweating with that stat.

  • blubell
  • Linja

So BS had to take credit.

  • Jedi

He should have no competition then if TWC is being fair.

  • HeroBallJLIN

I’m confused, I thought BS wanted to tank but Lakers just won 3 straight. Are they in danger of losing their pick?
Will BS tank after this, or continue to try to win?

  • blubell

    yes. IF.

  • CJSHYY

No. They are still #4 from the bottom in the league.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Because tanking was just an excuse for his failure

  • blubell

Remember, losing is never his fault and winning is always due to his great coaching.

  • blubell
  • HeroBallJLIN

ok, so they got some cushion. Knowing BS he will end season in bottom 6.

  • Jedi

Haha, better now than never. You got to give it to him for changing it on the air instead of being stubborn about it in the face of evidence. You know, some people never want to admit they are wrong.

  • blubell
  • HeroBallJLIN

If BS does not get pick then he should be fired. No pick plus worst Lakers loss in history.

  • HeroBallJLIN

the Key word is today. meaning other days, Coach is not doing a good job. Nice back handed compliment JLin.
Learn from the best of backhanded complimenters (BS)

  • blubell

Lets not forget he also learned from McHale as well 🙂

  • Rick Johnson
  • sport

Why not suck up to Kobe anymore? Kobe’s still going to be there next season though right? Though I wish Lakers will take the plunge and just ask him to retire, if not they’d trade him. Although I doubt there are any takers.

  • Jedi

Well if they buy out Lin now, it would cause a riot in LA.

  • sport

Except Kobe will be there next year and might even force another contract! No way will JLin stay unless they give him a HUGE max contract!

  • CJSHYY

Haha! Don’t think so… But if they do then Lin’s fans probably will be so happy then. LOL!

  • sport

JLin ended with 14 points not bad although I wanted him to surpass Clarkson’s points to lead both points and assists!

  • Keith

i had to google ” TGBTG”

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

What is that standard for? Thanks God blessing today’s Game?! LOL!

  • Jedi

I think these last 4 games really made Jeremy popular. He looked really good out there. And tonight he was +18, while no one else was close to his +/-.
In fact, JC was -6 (or something). So that kinda shows that Jeremy’s the biggest reason why the Lakers won tonight.
Now if the Lakers buy out the current best player on the team, their PR team wouldn’t be able to handle the blow up in the media. Even the two TWC announcers are sounding so much more positive about Jeremy than they used to be.

  • blubell

Close. lol. To God Be the Glory.

  • IsabeliJane*17

I think a lot of GMs are noticing that and keeping that in mind for next free agency.

  • CJSHYY

    Oh! I see. Thanks. LOL!

  • Rick Johnson

Shows when Clarkson plays he gets points but doesn’t make team better.

  • Brewkowski

Only because Scott wanted to win this game against Kidd.

  • Jedi

Next step he has to learn to stop saying ‘good’.
‘Coach did his job today, putting Kelly in there to space the floor a little bit.’
    EVEN BETTER!

  • Brent Yen

    shhhhhh…

  • Rick Johnson

Yes when Hill came out their momentum really started. Before that it was a struggle. I really don’t like Hill’s effect on Lin’s game.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lol, you have to be a Christian to know that. :]

  • blubell

    *loud noises*

  • CJSHYY

I think they changed their attitude on Lin bc FO wants to sign Lin that’s why Lin can have more playing time & close the game.

  • CJSHYY

JC is more like SG mind player.. he should be a SG not PG.

  • blubell

or know how to use Google. lol.

  • Jedi

You shouldn’t reveal your secrets! And here I was thinking you were so smart… ;-P

  • blubell

I am a Christian who knows how to use google 🙂

  • Rick Johnson

    Agreed

  • CJSHYY

That’s why BS put Hill w Lin bc he wants to tank not win.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Win win for you

  • blubell

    Everybody wins tonight!

  • Linja

    Everybody Lin Lin today.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Yes. BTW I love the bible language.

  • Linja

    Paul’s short Vid is out.

  • blubell
  • Briiick

Lakers need to buy out KB !

  • Linja

That is why Lin is a true Witness. And that is Coach-talk.

BTW, my friend told me. Lin just follow Kyle Korver? Hawks for next team? LOL!

If not the Spurs why not go to the Spurs of the east 🙂

  • Filler-up

    Great shot

  • Filler-up

He was the subway sub of the game.

  • Filler-up

Game is at Staples. Kobe should be on the bench cheering his team. But that is what a good teammate would do to teach the young fellas. Uh huh.

  • Filler-up

Sharing the ball and not hogging shots. Like when Ellington got that steal and went on the fast break he passed it to Lin but Lin smartly gave it up for the easy lay up.

  • sport

Bingo! As long as Ling get to join a franchise that players teamball then it’s all good!

  • sport

Doesn’t matter, Lin’s not staying with Lakers anyway.

  • Filler-up

That is understanding his teammates. Young guys who play well but do not get to finish deserves some shine. Lin always shares the spotlight willingly…unlike certain injured superstars who feel they have to stand on others to get ahead.

  • Filler-up

    That kids pretty tall.

Top scorer with 16 but 6 guys with double digits scoring. Way to spread the love.

  • Filler-up

How many missed dunks did Hill have?

  • blubell
  • sport

More like most allstar in the league refuse to share spotlight with others!

  • Brent Yen

I maintain my view that JC is not SG minded, he is just incapable of reading defense and pass properly. The ability thing, not mindset. Jmo

  • Linja

    Was this friendly?

  • sport

Maybe BS and FO wants to win at home games but lose away to satisfy fans who buy tickets?

  • blubell
  • sport

Probably why they want to win games at home to please fans but lose on the road.

  • sport

Dude barely even went to practice when healthy let alone to the games now that his season is over.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • JLin Fan from Australia

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

Joyce, now that JLin has begun to gel with others, I would like to see BS and KB out of Lakers instead of JLin:-) Any possibility for this to happen?

  • sport

Except Worthy the flip flopper said Lin plays better off the bench and at 2 guard! <.<

  • blubell
  • joyce ward

Me too. Mitch/F/O just might be trying to do that.LOL

  • joyce ward

He also said that clarkson/ellington make up for the defense of price. Sometimes it makes me wander if Worthy even knows the game of basketball with his idiotic comments

  • JLin Fan from Australia

This team should be able to play like this from the beginning of the season if it isn’t sabotaged by BS and KB. They can win lots of games and be in one of the playoffs teams. Now that Lakers fans have a taste of how the team looks like in the past few games, they should ask more questions why this wasn’t like this until now.

Part of me I still believe BS will go back to tank mode from next game on but not sure players will go for it now that they have tasted the wins. Can’t wait and see what is coming in the next 25 games:-)

  • joyce ward

I think, it was looking a little too obvious that they were in tank mode, so that had to win a few games to make it look good. Also scott is allowing lin to play his game. I think Mitch/FO knows that they don’t have much time to become a contender. I think they will try to keep lin/davis/boozer/ellington because they are game changers.

  • joyce ward

Also the 2nd unit beat Bucks starting lineup. That says a lot.

  • sport

That part was ridiculous too! JLin, Clarkson and Ellington all plays better defense and offense than him!

  • sport

Except these players won’t stay unless BS and Kobe are both gone! Bring back Mike D’antoni and we will have Linsanity 2.0 and possiblity a championship team with the same guys having played one year together to gel!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I know they still have 3 games to cushion from being off the bottom 4. Funny that all bottoms 4 have won tonight except Minnesota. So, Lakers is still safe at this point.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes believe it’s going to happen: FO either keeps BS and KB or the rest of the players. Glad that they are all one year rental. So, they can leave if they don’t want to play for BS and KB:-) Going to be increasing intriguing of what might have come to after the season is over.

  • sport

Yes FO will have to choose between the two and Jim Buss only has 2 years left. If Mitch and FO were smart they get rid of BS and Kobe first thing during off season. But is the only way they can do that through buyout?

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • joyce ward

    Good to know

  • JLin Fan from Australia

What I believe it will happen. Lakers can fire BS and hire coach that won’t be KB puppet. Sit him if he doesn’t play well. From what Mitch said the other day he wouldn’t bring in vets to get BS another ring. This is pretty clear message in a sense that team won’t be focused on KB next season. Hope this is what will happen unless they want to be the laughing stock for more years to come.

  • joyce ward

Ok, I did some digging and here are all of the available coaches: Jeff Van Grundy, Mark Jackson, Avery Johnson, and Mike D’toni. Which one would you pick for the Lakers ?

  • Tey Ling

Mike D’toni if Lin resign with Lakers.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL Only one I know is Mike D’Atoni. So I will pick Mike as JLin can play well under him esp he is getting even more mature and complete as a player now:-)

  • joyce ward

I actually think that they will. As @jlin_fan_from_australia:disqus points out that if they get a coach kobe doesn’t like,i think Kobe will agree to a buyout.

  • sport

Hmm it will have to be coach who isn’t afraid o benching stars or old worn out ones at that!

  • joyce ward

I like Mike too, but I see them bringing in Mark Jackson if it happens.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

All these ex-Lakers need to be retired for good. They might have been great players in the past but what they said sometimes was so off.

  • Kianainhi

Don’t know Avery Johnson. I believe Coach D won’t return to Lakers unless Kobe is out. Let’s imagine Kobe is out….1) Coach D 2) Mark Jackson 3) Jeff Van Gundy

  • sport

Obviously Mike D’antoni! No to JVG cause he heavily dissed JLin during Rocket games to please FO which means he’d throw Lin under the bus just to save himself! Not to mention Mike D’antoni never got a Championship ring especially with the missed opportunity with Nash! I believe that JLin can be the one to get him that well overdue recognition! Not to mention Mike D’antoni will tailor to JLin and let him be the undisputed leader of the team!

  • joyce ward

Somebody like Mark Jackson. I think he would have the guts to sit Kobe down. Also I pointed out earlier in the season that Mitch’s first choice of coaches was George Karl, but Karl wanted control over Basketball Operations and that what he got with the Kings.

  • joyce ward

I like your lineup.Lakers are going to have a lot of new young players and they need a coach to develop them and Scott ain’t that guy. All three of your choices are guys that are really good in developing talent.

  • joyce ward

Did you see Kobe’s interview when Serena Winters asked him the question on what he thought about what Mitch said? Kobe’s facial expression didn’t match his words. Kobe said that he and Mitch were on point and had talked about this…yeah right Kobe….LOL

  • sport

Get Mike D’antoni and there’s no doubt Lin will sign a contract with Lakers! If they want to convince Lin to stay and build around him that’s what they would do first thing!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

As I watched 4th qtr, I was so impressed with JLin and the players on the court with him. They really played like a team rather than for their own. This team doesn’t need KB at all. As long as BS didn’t step in the way to intentionally tank, this team could be great. So, my mind began to run and said what about getting rid of BS and KB and this team was going somewhere next year. Then I read that FO had no intention to bring in any player nor buyout. So, maybe this team continues to improve and show that they don’t need KB, it will be a whole new world for the rest of the season and so on.

  • Kianainhi

Horry said earlier that Lin doesn’t make his teammates better. These guys on TWC flip flops, it’s getting ridiculous.

  • joyce ward

Also if D’toni comes back, Hill will definitely will be gone. Now I know why D’toni didn’t like Hill, because he is a dumb big he can’t do pick and roll. I think that the Lakers might go after Kevin Love as their star player.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

As PFV said, JLin has now turned over the corner, he can play for any coach and team. Teams saw it. So JLin is going to be “hot” in FA. Obviously JLin likes CA but he will place his goals as priority: Be a consistent starter and ring.

  • joyce ward

Yep, and Lin has taken Kobe’s place as the 4th quarter guy.LOL

  • joyce ward

TCW needs to get rid of all of them

  • JLin Fan from Australia

JLin is Mr 4th qtr and more clutch than KB. JLin has shown his abilities in the past few games. More and more people noticed this besides JLin fans.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well, I don’t like Hill game. He is young but he doesn’t act like one. I like Boozer games much better. So I don’t mind he is gone. They can develop Black or get other big.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep I saw it. I thought he was going to puke when he heard what Mitch said:-) Yeah he said it pretty diplomatically but he knews his days in Lakers were numbered. Time for him to rethink his retirement plan.

  • sport

True Hill moves very slow, doesn’t like to move nor work under the rim. Yes Boozer can get double double every game if him and Lin were both starting. In fact I’d say Boozer is even better than Davis!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep I really dislike it very much. Whenever I had no choice but watched it, I muted them:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

For a change, I must give him a little credit in today’s game. At least he had a couple dunks under the rim. He also fought for rebounds. Maybe he is coming around as well?

  • Rick Johnson

What’s wrong with Black? He hasn’t played in a while?

  • joyce ward

I think lin is teaching the bigs how to play and that is huge. Hill seems to be listening to lin now on the offense. Also, I noticed that Booze has played the least in these last two games.

  • sport

If this was next season without BS and Kobe. I think a great starting lineup would be Lin(PG), Davis(C), Boozer(PF), Young(SF), and Ellington(SG)! Bench: Clarkson(PG), Kelly(PF), Black(F), Sacre(C), Johnson (SF)? Assuming that Hill will be gone.

  • joyce ward

I think Scott’s call to sit him,

  • joyce ward

I like your lineup, except I think they might insert Randle in the starting line up.

  • Rick Johnson

Hill wasted so many possessions bricking those long 2’s. Also he’s not near the paint to get rebounds if he missed. Seemed like when JLin missed other players would get the rebound and the basket. Team momentum really picked up when Kelly came in for Hill.

  • sport

Except Randle missed his first season as a rookie and still needs time to develop along with Clarkson. Not to mention Randle is a Kobe fan and wants to be another ball hog.

  • joyce ward

Yep. Lakers might offer him out big time buyout. Mitch has made it very clear that Rondo is not coming to the Lakers.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Oops. You are right. Thanks for the correction. Hill was out when the momentum really picked up now that I remember. Was glad that he didn’t do the damage in 4th qtr. Of course he couldn’t; he wasn’t in the court:-)

  • joyce ward

Agreed, but I think if lakers can get Kevin Love, then Randle is gone.

  • joyce ward

That is why I say, if we can get a better big man, Hill is gone. He is very lazy and low bball IQ.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

What post is Randle playing? Thought FO likes Randle very much.

  • joyce ward

    PF

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep JLin is really a very good floor leader. I wish it was Boozer in the game rather than Kelly but glad that it was still a win.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep this is one battle I don’t think he is going to win this time. After ASG, JLin has changed the momentum of the Lakers. Don’t think BS can stop him now. Seem like every players respect him and changes their games when he is on the floor. They really trust each other now. JLin has slowly won everyone over to the teamball.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Will Kevin Love be a good big for Lakers without KB with the current players?

  • joyce ward

Yep. It will give the Laker fans something to get over Kobe. Love is from LA and he wants to be the man. He and Lin would be good combo.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! He is still very raw.

  • Filler-up

Wonder if Lin saw a sports psychologist during all star break.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well, that will be good. So, next few weeks will be very interesting to see.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Nop he was spending time with family @ upper New York. Good to be away and had fun with family.

  • IsabeliJane*17

Spending time with family is better than seeing a sports psychologist

  • JLin Fan from Australia

From the discussion below, it seems quite clear that Lakers can rebuild this team with minimal effort by just getting rid of KB and BS and brings in players that can help the team rather than start all over again by keeping KB:-) Without KB and BS, this team will go far. By keeping KB and BS, this team will tank for many years to come. Not a hard decision at all. LOL I can be a GM now:-)

  • kittyhead

And also with shooting coach Doc who I believe gave Lin some good advice too.

  • joyce ward

I totally agree. I think that might be what the Lakers F/O is about to do. I think that Mitch/FO took a stand when Kobe said that he would not retire in 2016.I hope that Lakers clean house with Kobe/BS next year. One way they could insure Kobe not sticking around would be to fire Scott and bring in another coach.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

That’s right. I knew something was missing:-) Sign of getting old:-) Glad you remember!!!

  • 1mtoldman

if you are gm you will choose tank. is the genius way. everyone says so.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

NOP. Like Jeremy I don’t like to lose:-) Tanking isn’t in my vocabulary:-) Always a high achiever and perfectionistic. Used to drive people crazy. Mellow quite a bit now but still don’t like to lose:-)

  • 1mtoldman

laker fans hate mikey d much more than bs; they will never let him back there.

  • 1mtoldman

check hills shooting stats for the game. i think bs still kept making moves to lose but the players stepped up. no players want to “not prioritize winning”.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • 1mtoldman

i disagree with this completley. i dont understand why people think the lakers have any interest in keeping any of these people. i see no eveidence to suggest that.

if they wanted these players they could have utilized them properly thru the year.

look at your first sentence that makes sense. but bs is still trying to lose just more subtly.

also fans are getting upset with possiblity of something other than the hinkie way.

again there is this divide between lin fans and regular fans. which seems to be at base one of optimism. and seeing the good.

mainstream says: tank, randle, kobe, superstars to come; everyone else is just bad (thats not the word they would use but the word they would use would get me moderated) and to be eliminated.

and bs is the handholder as long as kobe is there and kobe is there as long as he can “recover’ from another season ending injury.

like the terminator “he will be back”.

its so strange a couple games ago everyone was: lin has to get out la. no matter where.

now they win a couple games and lin gets the opporutnity to play well some of the time. and everyone is like. oh stay in la get rid of kobe and bs.

    smh.

  • 1mtoldman

and minn. is actually a good team now. the only reason they were so bad early is their 3 best players were out for most of the season and now the young players who got playing opporutnity during that time are better and the old players are back they’re a good team. not on a tanking line.

only knicks, lakers, and philly (the elite of tanking philly/hinkie, genius of tanking) are of the tanking trail. if someone else gets there its not by choice.

denver; well never is another ex laker coach story.

  • 1mtoldman

as i said above lakers fans will never permit mikey d to return. more hated than anyone. blamed for last season. no one blames scott for this season; they approve the losing to get/keep the draft pick.

  • 1mtoldman

no players like to lose. but players dont run the teams.

  • joyce ward

Except if you play for the Spurs or the Mavericks

  • JLin Fan from Australia

That’s true but they can work together to win games rather than let it tank:-)

  • joyce ward

Listen everybody on here can have an opinion, but nobody truly knows what is going on except the Lakers organization. So we alll are just playing guessing games…smh

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Don’t understand why u r so upset about. If you disagree, just says it kindly and politely. What we are discussing here are based on the development on the past few days. We only discuss what if here. Obviously we are not FO. We have no idea what might happen. It isn’t a crime for friendly discussion on what ifs.

  • Bearness

Nice bounce back game from Lin. I hope he will continue strong play for rest of season. Freedom is so close, Jeremy!

  • joyce ward

Listen, this the NBA, and these coaches always rises from the dead. I don’t think the Laker F/O cares about the average fan thinks. They only care about their sponsors and season ticket holders. I live in LA and most of the fans that didn’t like D’toni were the ones that only followed stats and didn’t ever attend or watch any of the games…smh

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep 25 more games to go:-)

  • joyce ward

Let it go, they just have a bad attitude. Opinions are just like azzholes, everybody’s got one…smh

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Are you sure all Lakers fans are in the same page as what you claim here??? I have read and seen many tweets said otherwise.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Continue to pray JLin to stay healthy; improve his games, have fun…. Go JLin! We are proud that you have turned a corner since ASG. Keep on rolling!!! God be with you!!!

  • Filler-up

Depends on the objective. Add Mike Malone, John Calipari and Scott Skiles to your list as well.

  • Filler-up

No way. His legacy is too important to him. He saw what happened to MJ when he suited up for the Wizards. Kobe is not going there.

  • stam

He is just a great teammate and complimented everyone including JC. He’s very happy with the win. I hope the team continues to trust Jlin and pass back to him and the coach allows him to be a PG.

  • stam

I LOLed when he said that. I couldn’t even believe he said he doesn’t make his teammates better. He took the knicks on a linsanity run, now if that wasn’t about teamball and elevating your people then what is? lol

  • stam

Lin plays best with people who move the ball well, pass back, have good spacing, trust him, and who want to win. The reason he’s doing better on the bench is because of the people he’s around and that he’s no longer playing with KB the ball hogger.

  • Filler-up

I think he meant to say that Jeremy needs to be aggressive and look to play his game and not worry about too many guys in his ears. But it came out all wrong.

  • stam

From the eye test, he’s the tallest person with the shortest jump vertical lol

  • Filler-up

Especially Hill. Everytime he gets the ball at the 18-20′ spot a shot goes up. Pass it back and move closer and he will get some of those wrap around passes for easy dunks and putbacks.

  • John Lee

To be 100% honest, after watching and confirming multiple times, I did notice that although Lin had establish position, he did subtly shuffle his feet, first left and then right.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Maybe then he will choose to retire gracefully???!!!!

  • joyce ward
  • John Lee

The tide has really changed after ASG / CNY. Though I think one contributing factor that helped the pro-Lin faction of the F/O was Jack Nicholson selling his season ticket. Jack is to Lakers what Spike is to Knicks, it speaks volumes (in terms of bad PR) when Jack makes it public that he’s no longer interested in the team.

  • joyce ward

I agree. Also he wanted to see some wins. Nickolson knew the Lakers were tanking and he could not hang in there for that. Also I think Mitch/FO are ready to rebuild a new Laker dynasty.

  • Brent Yen

After all…some stars are better in a sense. But all 450 players in NBA are elite. Plus, most stars are made ….I laugh every time I saw ppl saying Kobe needs help or Scott needs talents to win. Completely non-sense.

  • grover chang

But trust develops from playing together and having no ball hogs. That was difficult to do with kobe and young and Scott constantly shaking up the line up. Now hill just needs to get on the same page of no ISO. Ironically the only player capable of going ISO is Lin but he tries to do the opposite for the team to play together.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Now that we know pretty sure no boat is rocking, it is quite intrigue to see what FO after the season is over. If they fire BS, we know KB time is up pretty soon. If they keep BS, then we know most one year rental players will choose to leave when offers are made. Meanwhile continue to watch Lakers Reality Show:-)

  • gasparthe2

what can I say? WE fans have been righteously steadfast about him. We shan’t abandon him for he is indeed an extraordinary fellow worthy of All Star status. While the good fans of the world love him, the haters shall remain jealous and shameful.

Good ol’ Jeremy Lin, the young basketball athlete who has brought the sports world LINsanity!! …and there’s no Fluke about it. Eat your hearts out bad guys.

Take care JLin Fan from Australia 🙂

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Agree 100%.

  • joyce ward

I just watched the Lin highlights from last night’s game and I must say that Lin was carving up Bucks defense. Lin was making some nice decisions and moves. I like the fact that he has learned how to get himself out of double teams. He made smart plays and the bigs were huge down the stretch. Lin should have had 23 points because he missed a 3 and he missed three layups, but the bigs cleaned up all of his misses. Also I liked that Ellington said that they are holding each other accountable now. They understand it takes everybody to get the win.

  • grover chang

And keeping Lin. Lin does so much on both ends of the court to make the game flow on both ends of the court. Sometimes linsanity games feel like Lin is a babysitter. The good teams are passing, screening, cutting in unison, eg. Spurs and Hawks. Lin is forcing his team to do all of this by breaking down the defense and finding the open man. I think it’s beautiful what lin does but no one on the Lakers could do it as well as him.

  • Brent Yen

Ellington is not a selfish guy….although he sometimes acted like it. It is more about ability

  • joyce ward

Ellington gave Lin props in this video

  • grover chang

Yes! The good shooters even dirk will have their coaches work with them periodically during the season.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Multiple factors contribute to Lakers wins. Listened to Ellington postgame interview also reminded me of those Linsanity days interviewed with Jeffries…. Remember JLin said the team decided to want to be a team. This is what happening. The players made the decision of wanting to be a team. They played unselfishly for a change in 4th qtr. They dug deep and got a win.

  • joyce ward

Also, I think it is about getting a contract next year. And that is ok too. I like this group of guys, they all seem to get along fine and they really like each other. I like the fact Lin was the leader on the floor and they followed his lead.

  • Brent Yen

Follow his leads means 8 ppl with double figure score…they better keep doing it…

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep. Now that JLin has brought the team together and plays awesome teamball game in the next 25 games, hope FO has the gut to pull the plug and fire BS and brings in coach that can contain Kobe to do minimal damage. With JLin on the team, new coach won’t face the music as D’Antonio did. Then Lakers can turn the ship around to the right direction:-) This will be best scenerio!!!

  • joyce ward

I think they will. I actually think that if Scott tries to shake up the units to loose, that they will figure a way to win. They take on OKC on Sunday. I expect Clarkson to foul out because Westbrook will get the superstar calls.

  • joyce ward

Yeah, that is utter nonsense.Kobe is done in this league, and the kobenites need to accept that fact. He is not a 25 year old kobe anymore.

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well BS only have 11 players to play with right now if NY is able to play. JLin basically can play well with most lineup now. Some are better than others. JLin definitely can keep them going. How many more wins they will get is another story but believe players enjoy to play with each other more than ever.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

The top pic was when JLin showed his surrender hands when he was called block instead of charge. Smart he didn’t argue with refs but walked away. He didn’t want to get a tech!!!!

  • Sophie Paris

    Lol and spending it

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

    Lakers with another lucky break?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Saw a pretty bad din in his right cheek I believe earlier. Fracture cheek bone is more than likely. At least a game or two he will have to miss.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL Another win???!!!! Lakers pro-tanker fans won’t like it!

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward
  • gasparthe2

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Saw a more complete JLin’s report and interview from Taiwan news. Don’t know how to move it here. He did mention about BS and that he was allowed to be playmaker…. Also can’t find JLin’s jersey and his related items in Staple Center. They haven’t got any JLin’s items for a while now. mmmh What does this mean????

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Didn’t see anything here even after refresh.

  • CJSHYY

I think BS probably will team up Lin & Ellington instead of JC & Lin in starting lineup when he moves Lin to starting lineup next week.

  • webattorney

Saw highlights. Great 4th quarter by Lin. A complete PG play. Doesn’t look hesitant even when he misses.

  • CJSHYY

Really? From Staple Center? I just check Lakers shop there are Lin’s items…

  • CJSHYY

What? They followed Lin to east coast?! Oh! Lakers really tried hard to keep Lin.

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

    I re-posted it up above..sorry

  • CJSHYY

Lakers will not bring in MDA again for sure. So I pick either Mark Jackson or Jeff Van Grundy.

  • chronoshifter

    Sold out!

I was there in Nov., his jersey has already been sold out back then.

Either new supplies have been sold out again, or they didn’t order new ones (in anticipation of his leaving coming summer???)

Before Lin, I mostly watched Kobe highlights. I really hoped in Kobe’s interviews that he would age gracefully and intellectually I think Kobe is ready for the end, but throughout his actions you could tell his heart is not yet ready. The head is easier to persuade then the heart. Kobe LOVES basketball it will be sad to see him lose it. I’m afraid Kobe has nothing else when basketball is gone.

I really wonder what coach could Lakers get that has a modern feel for the game, wants to play uptempo, and not play politics. That would be the qualities for Lin. Lin has started to enter his prime years, his next coach will be critical.

  • Music to my ears!
With more praises from coaches, JLin’s FA value is steadily increasing =)

“[Lin is] a guy that can get the ball in the paint and cause two guys on the ball,” said Bucks Coach Jason Kidd. “He found open guys and also got to the free-throw line. He played a great fourth quarter.”

Brad Stevens on Lin:-I thought Jeremy Lin killed us…

  • joyce ward
  • CJSHYY

I agree if they let Lin played like this from the beginning of the season they are in playoff list now. smh! BS will try his best to tank bc even FO wants to keep Lin but they also wants to get the top 5 draft. So BS will put the players around Lin that will not do good to loss…

  • grover chang

Coach Steve Nash. His playing days are over. He knows how to play the game, two time MVP, and already has a good relationship with Jeremy. The hot thing now is hiring former pg as coaches. Anyways, Lakers should try to get something out of Nash after all that money they paid him.

  • grover chang

The only two players that could stop the offense are Hill and Young. Looks like towards the end of the game the team learned how to hide Hill on offense and Hill did what he was famous for early in his career, HUSTLE!

Does anyone know any details of why jeremy is running more pick and rolls? Is that Jeremy’s call or coach BS? Seems like this game and vs celtics he made more plays because we was able to run PnR

Even though LAL was losing under JC, he did actually keep the LAL in it as Lin said. LAL would’ve been in a bigger hole if he hadn’t produced offensively.

When coaches sing praises like this, they are acknowledging that Lin is a game changer on an elite level. Few players are capable of doing what Lin seems to do so effortlessly. I don’t mean scoring or wrecking the defensive scheme with his drives. What Lin is able to do so much better than anyone else is the speed of his mind. Last night was an example of how there is no metric capable of measuring Lin’s ability to change the course of a game by making use of all his assets. Guys like Lebron, Curry or other superstars can impact one or two other players, but Lin seamlessly is able to impact all of the 4 other teammates on the court with him. ITS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A JUGGLER OF 2 KNIFES OR 4 KNIFES. ITS AN EXPONENTIAL DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY AND RISK.

This is the reason why I have always believed that Lin is on a new level of play that everyone else will have to catch up to. It is also why so many “superstars” are afraid of Lin because that’s a totally new skill set no yet seen by anyone else.

  • joyce ward

Bravo….great post…and I totally agree with everything you posted. A poster on twitter said that was first time in a long time where the PG defense was the reason they won the game.

  • joyce ward
  • CJSHYY

I believe so … just like D12, even Kobe wasn’t nice to D12 but Lakers tried everything to make him stay & sure offer him the best contract among the teams. That’s why I am worry… Lakers can offer Lin 5 years.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t believe this statement… “knows he will be a bencher no matter where he goes… ” bc Lin said he wants to be a starter. I believe NYK & Mav can offer him starting job. Even Rox too…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

What Lin wants is a no-trade contract. That will give him lots more leverage to stay on as a Laker. If Lin gets paid like $8m+ per year, I think he would have more reasons to stay as a Laker.

But when the Mavericks decides to match that, Dallas is what Jeremy should go. It’s a matter of team chemistry and competent coaching. Rick Carlisle is not going to allow any superstar to dictate the team. Rick has Mark Cuban’s full support because he’s a champion caliber coach. Rick would love to have Jeremy because Lin respects coaches even when they’re wrong.

Byron Scott is clearly a dinosaur-aged coach which is not helping any team. Having a no-trade contract will force him to reconsider before dissing Jeremy. Unless Lakers change the coach, Jeremy should play for other teams. Again Lin should play for the team that wants him most. Jeremy should never take a pay cut to pay for any team at all.

  • Alaingrvis

This discussion on lakers offering lin a nice conyract ispossiblw but it depends on rando. Lin likly eont be a starter anywhere he goes but he would likly like the chance at startibg. If tando leaved mavs then its the mavs. If lakers get zero pgs well tbh idk. It all depends on how much lin loves being in la.also tony parkers has struggled this year im bot sayibg he would start but he would play alot given the resting of parker. And spurs need to fond thefuture after parker. This offseason will be intersting

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The stereotypes at work against Jeremy, isn’t it?
Without Lin, Ellington wouldn’t explode because Clarkson would take the shot before Ellington can get into rhythm. Clarkson will look for his shot before others. Lin shoots to get others open and then he would pass as much as possible to get others involved. The whole team just crashes the board and plays in sync.

It will take three or four years before an NBA PG matures. You can see this from the development of Steve Nash, Kyrie Erving, Tony Parker etc. Clarkson is not an exception. Lin haters have been trying to make a hype of anyone to play ahead of Jeremy. This has been spreaded in the media coverage as we have already witnessed. I think we can’t change that until the following of Lin grows stronger and stronger to outweigh the opposition. At present, I think we, the Lin fans, are going to see that coming as Lin’s games playing at the next level. It’s pretty close now with Lin allows himself to play within the games.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

  • Rookie75094

When do the tankers play the Mavericks again? Hope Cuban will personally experience Linsanity. ..hehe

  • Acbc

A 3 game linning streak and speculation is going wild. IMO, it’s still way too early to read what if anything it means for LIN’S next year. Frankly, I don’t even think the FO knows what they want!

The one thing that is obvious is the results on the court. BS has played so many combinations that no matter what he throws out on the court with lin, he’s seen it already. That and the fact that the players are all fed up with KOBE and BS put downs. Lin has led the charge against the tank no matter how they try to screw with his mind. All the players now are united now behind Lin. They are all fired up and giving the tank the middle finger.

The longer Lin plays with any team, the more they gel as a team. BS has now run out of combinations that Lin has touched. The tank is now in serious trouble. THIS IS WHAT WILL FORCE THE LAKERS INTO A CORNER AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH LIN. if the Lakers keep linning, then the Lakers will have to play their hands soon.

  • Rick Johnson
  • Rick Johnson

He has, Lin lead Rockets without Harden beat the Mavericks.

  • ETC

I don’t think it matters what the FO does because I thought Lin can go where ever he wants. If I were him, I would not come back with Kobe no matter what.

  • Rookie75094

Yes but I want Cuban to experience it again and again and again. ..hehe

  • CJSHYY

I like Mav bc the owner & coach but concern about Ellis bc he is more ISO than harden sometimes that will not fit well w Lin’s team ball theory. Plus when is Ellis contract year? Next year? Also Mav probably will not be able to compete the offer w Lakers or Rox.

  • CJSHYY

That was history. It’s best Lin can show him now bc they want to know ” Can you still be that good?”

  • 1mtoldman

“Make no mistake about it: Sam Hinkie’s rebuilding strategy is a disgrace to the fans, the Philadelphia 76ers organization and the spirit of competition that makes basketball so great. To make matters even worse, it might not be working.”

must read to expose the absurdity of the “not prioritizing winning” strategy implemented by hinkie as none other.

  • CJSHYY

I believe BS now sure has big problem bc he needs to let Lin plays his game bc FO said so but he also needs to tank also by FO…. LOL!

  • 1mtoldman

The only thing that I’m afraid of is when Byron Scott starts Jeremy with Ryan Kelly and Robert Sarc and Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson. I can almost see it coming with a very desperate Byron Scott and Kobe.

    2014/01/29 Jeremy Lin HighLights│Rockets vs. Mavericks│: http://youtu.be/fQEZzT0AqWY

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Every successful team has the PG. I really don’t see this in Jordan Clarkson. It will take him at least 3 more years to mature. Perhaps the best choice for Lakers next season is Ronnie Price with Lin going to the Mavericks.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

That’s not true. Benching will not happen if Lin plays like what he did against the Celtics.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think Lakers wants Price back. They had already looked at some players from overseas.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With Rondo going out, Lin will stand a better chance with the Mavericks. Lin is a better team player than Rondo. The team chemistry with Jeremy and Chandlers, Amare are going to be awesome. I think Ellis will stay in Dallas. He’s had phenomenal years with Dirk, the cornerstone for the Dallas team. I hope Lin will be the missing piece for the Dallas team to a championship.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With Kobe gone, good things will happen.

  • CJSHYY

I know but to these GMs or owners, they want to see what you can do now. I guess that’s why Lin is playing aggressive after ASG. He is playing for his contract now. Like he said after back from NY, he wanted to cut down his TO & play aggressive. So glad he did them all …

  • CJSHYY

I think so if Lakers only wants him to be bench then why needs to bring back to starting lineup now? Since they are tanking… I still think offer Lin starting job it’s part of the contract to attract him to stay in Lakers.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

With a few more games like this and the Celtics game, Lin will be a much sought after PG on the rise. I would love to see Jeremy join the Mavericks and demolish Morey and McHale and James Harden.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    My translation:
The Lakers masterful comeback displays Jeremy Lin’s unmatched value.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A duel between Rondo and Lin on the stage. May the best be Lin.

  • Rick Johnson

March 8 in LA. Wonder if Cuban will go to an away game?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe and Byron Scott! Not a chance. Let Lakers spent max to get their PG. Lin is going to a contender.

2015 Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. I stumbled across some tweets from the conference. It was held yesterday and today. Some of the tweets are very interesting.

Tweets can be found by searching on the hashtag #SSAC15. However, there is such a volume of tweets, it might help to look at the agenda [link] first to determine a subject matter of interest. Then you’ll have an idea of the general timestamp range to look.

I found this morning’s “Show Me the Money” panel with NBA GMs interesting. They talked about negotiating player contracts with agents.

Also, I looked at the twitter stream from Kirk Goldberry [link], not so much for the conference, but because of the various analytics charts he shows.

Lastly, I stumbled across an online shot analyzer program in one of those tweets. You can put in a player’s name and bring up some shot charts and graphs. [link]

Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book called “the Tipping Point”. It’s a fascinating read on how small things like a pebble can trigger a snowball effect once set in motion. This was the argument he took to challenge the moral and ethical problem with tanking.

Losing to win doesn’t take into account on the philosophical question of what value sport holds in the context of what it adds to society. This is the point of Malcolm’s argument.

The one thing we all do in life is that we must all compete to live. Sports is “civilized and stylized warfare”. It symbolizes our will to fight and make good of our life. It is this passion play that teaches us the value of hard work and devotion. When Hinkie and NBA allows teams to value losing instead, they are failing at the very fabric of our human drive to progress and reach for greatness.

IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG ETHICALLY, MORALLY AND PHILOSOPHICALLY.

  • FrankW

Clarkson had an excellent game but Jeremy was the difference maker. When Clarkson enter the game for Lin (6:26 second quarter) the Lakers was up by 5 points (29-34) and when Jeremy enter the game for Sacre (third quarter 5:41), Lakers already gave up 15 points (66-56). From the third quarter, 5:41 mark to the end of the game, Lakers scored 45 points to Bucks 27, a differential of 18 points when Jeremy was on the court resulted in Lin having a +/- of +18. “Forth quarter belongs to Jeremy Lin.”

  • GoodDayLA

If thats what it takes for linsanity to happen, then we got a problem. Utah game was a win but lin wasnt really utilized because lakers were fine to let Clarkson finish game win or lose

  • LAJane

why does anyone worry about this? Do NBA rules require him to be a slave to the highest bidder? In FA, aren’t you allowed to accept the offer you like best, regardless of the money? It’s LIN, for God’s sake (pun intended hehe). Do these people not know him at all, after all this time? Money is not his master.

  • GoodDayLA

I think scott is talented enough to stifle lin. But i get your point

  • 1mtoldman

obviously you dont read lakers mouthpiece jacob rude game grades. jacob was outraged; outraged that clarkson was benched in the 4th quarter. mentioned it several times. to bench the need to be developed clarkson and “implode” the tank. well he was just mad.

oh lin played ok he said too but no excuse for not playing the “future” of the lakers and instead playing someone who isn’t going to be around next year anyway.

did i mention he was mad?

  • 1mtoldman

highly unlikely westbrook will play. will be interesting each time mite be down to like 9 or 10 healthy players. last man standing.

  • 1mtoldman

normally + – doesn’t mean a lot but this time it does because lin is so far ahead of everyone else. no one else is even close. usually it just goes by you know one group of guys has one thing and the others another but i think only kelly had even a signifacnt +/- positive and his was like half lins.

it was obvious to anyone who watched teh game that clarkson (mvp) stats were just stats; clarkson’s play produced stats. lin’s play produced a win.

now the problem is: winning could become habit forming and defeat the grand strategy of tanking to keep the pick.

  • IsabeliJane*17

I don’t like Westbrook, but it must be one strong impact with that dent on his face. I hope Jeremy won’t get that any time in his NBA career.

This is such a great post! As I watched highlights last night, I was having similar thoughts. Looking back, it now seems to me his mental speed used to be more occupied with where/what/how he should be doing to do his best as an individual player working for the team. Like using his left more, cutting down TO’s, working on shot form, etc. It seems after these painful and hardworking years that something deep has clicked in. It seems now his confidence is natural, doesn’t need so much conscious focus. He probably wouldn’t call it this exactly, but it seems to me like a sense of MASTERY has set in. As a result, his mental speed is all focussed outward – not only what are the X/O moving parts in the field, but who at any moment has the skill to meet the opportunity he could give, and who doesn’t. Or who has it this moment, or who is off. Whose energy feels ripe to burst out if he can get them the look. Those highlights had a zone-like quality where the speed of his mind was unimpeded by any concern about his own abilities. WIDE OPEN mind/body/spirit. It’s more than fun to watch. Thrilling.

  • grover chang

I’ve seen linsanity save a team full of injuries but could linsanity save a whole league?

  • 1mtoldman

not to speak ill of the injured and of course westbrook now being touted for mvp with his “one man show” since durant out. but he has replaced harden as the supreme flopper/chucker in the league. almost as many free throws as harden and more fga’s:

and of course shoots a much worse %.

and he is theoretically a point guard; vis a vis other point guards only no one is close to his combined shot attempts per game. im sure there are a lot of guys if they put up that many shots get a lot of points too.

and his team lost last nite despite his what 3rd triple double in a row? i heard he was going for one.

i really liked the players okc acquired at the deadline but a one man show whether in okc or houston unless its you know wilt chamberlain. aint gonna get it done.

    Well said!
I don’t think the Tank is in trouble tho. BS still have all the cards in his hands. The Lakers probably wouldn’t lose as many games as before but they will still gonna lose enough for BS & FO’s liking.
As for James Worthy: he’s referring to “The Price” that had 5 Threes, 10 assists, and 5 steals. hehe… There’s nothing wrong with being a fool and looking foolish.

I would love to see Lin run his own show “starter” in LA. This is the best market, home for him. But Kobe is not ready to hang it up just yet. BS will still be here for awhile, 2-3 years (he’s a Lakers legend, thus will have his supporters). Lakers FO is looking at Lin with half opened eyes – seeing Lin as a very good bench player and Not an All-Star caliber.
Lin will not be here in LA next year as a backup. And I support him whole-heartedly.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Monta Ellis is a great player throughout his career since 05-06. Lin is relatively new to NBA started his NBA career in 2010-11). When they were teammates (2010-11), Ellis started in 80 games average 40.3 minutes 24.1 points per game for GS as a starter at his prime. Lin was just a no-name bench player in his first season played only in 29 games average 9.8 minutes 2.6 points. Ellis hardly noticed Lin at all, not to mention like or dislike him.

Ellis is 29 and Lin is 26. They should get along well. Ellis is a SG with a career average 4.8 assists per game because he usually played long minutes. Lin is a PG with a career average 4.8 assists per game with much less minutes.

  • TTNN

    I thought 3 times already.

  • linspiredinla
  • Kwok Wai Lai

The worst combination for Lin is as follows
    Center Robert Sacre
    Power forward Ryan Kelly
    Small forward Nick Young
    PG Jordan Clarkson
    SG Lin

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Communication trust and effort.
That is the reason Kobe and Byron are determined to trash Jeremy.
They are called out by Boozer and Jeremy for their mistakes.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Byron is silently copying MDA with Wesley Johnson playing PF now. Wesley is playing tall.

  • Yascar

Yup 3 times. Orlando, Boston, Milwaukee. All wins dominated by Jeremy.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kobe has been playing less than half a season and shooting at the worst rate in NBA as starting SG.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I agree totally. Fire Scott will shut up Kobe. Kobe has no trade value. Where else he can play?

  • Steppen

Russ is out, DJ Augustine is in!
Have been following him as a Pistons as he had his own mini-Linsanity run. He’s a quality point guard. It will a good matchup.

  • CJSHYY

Augustine played well in Pistons. I am so surprised to see Pistons traded him to OKC. Maybe bc Jackson is younger…

  • 1mtoldman

ive mentioned this before how is a player much like lin; when given a chance to play major minutes performs really well then always ends up be reduced to back up role. he replaced rose in chicago last year and performed and jennings this year.

  • 1mtoldman

can lin get a taco commercial?

  • 1mtoldman

anyone know why lowrey not playing tonite? embarssment?

  • joyce ward

I am saying right now that Scott has had a taste of winning and he likes it. A lin led unit will always produce a win and scott knows that. I would not even doubt that the Lakers have switched course because of those three wins. The lin led Lakers look like Showtime lakers back in the day. And the plot thickens…

  • joyce ward

    They said he was resting

  • CJSHYY

I think so but what about their top 5 draft? FO sure will not give it up like this?! I think they still can win some games bc Magic won 19 games & they are #5 from the bottom.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL I really like your “And the plot thickens…”

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes they still have 3 more games to cushion with 83+% of pick. Even that, it isn’t guarantee anyway.

  • joyce ward

The reason I said was because Mitch was at practice a couple of days ago and all of a sudden Scott talks about starting Lin. That is not coincidence. Mitch and F/O know that lin is not going to tank, so something is up.

  • orLinaryjoe

    It’s linsane…

  • 1mtoldman

atl holds mia. to 33 points in the first half. as i recall klay thompson reacently scored 37 in a quarter by himself. g. dragic 0 for 4 for 0 points in 18 min. his back up chalmers 1 for 7. oh for got to mention atl resting 3 of its 5 starters.

  • CJSHYY

Hawks is really good now. Heat is not as good as before…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

mmmh Seem like BS is going changing his tune somewhat with JLin. Something is cooking:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Jimmy Buckets

    Lebron be like..

  • HY C

don’t think there’s taco for BOS game.

I remember it’s when LAL has >100, and holds the opponent <100
    that game was 118 – 111

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

You are correct HY C. That’s the only way you receive TACOs.

  • joyce ward
  • JLin Fan from Australia

Still don’t know what’s this about.

  • Jimmy Buckets

Kyle Korver doesnt get the ball at all
their PGs are way too selfish and honeslty Jeff Teague aint gonna cut it
Jeremy Lin will take them to the next level he will find Korver

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Sorry for my ignorant. Which team you are talking about?

  • Jimmy Buckets

    the hawks

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    OK Thanks!

  • joyce ward

MCW: How is it playing with kobe? Lin: Man let’s not even go there…LOL

  • joyce ward
  • Jimmy Buckets

Lin went to talk to this lad after game
    hes looking out for him

  • linspiredinla

Guess it’s twice since this year.

  • Jimmy Buckets

He implied line up change even before Mitch showed up
players were never going to tank Mitch and F/O know this
They’ve seen how good Clarkson can be and still believe in Randle
    2 youngsters right there
tanking for draft picks isnt all that important anymore

Lakers’ Jeremy Lin is on a roll after All-Star break
    http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-fyi-20150301-story.html

He has found his “peace” again, and that in turn has allowed Jeremy Lin to play with freedom.

Lin has performed at his best with the Lakers this season after the All-Star break, his game now flourishing.

“When I was a rookie, I put myself through mental torment,” Lin said. “I can’t do that anymore. So now I’m just growing more as a person spiritually and just learning to surrender it all. It gives me a lot of peace, man. It gives me a lot of peace.”

In the four games since the All-Star break, Lin has been one of the most consistent Lakers.

He has averaged a team-best 16.3 points per game since the break and shot 50% (23-for-46) from the field. Lin has done it as a reserve, even leading the Lakers in scoring twice off the bench since the break

“At the All-Star break, I had a chance to get away and reset mentally,” Lin said. “I’m trying to come out in attack mode. I’m just really trying to have a very free mind when I play. It’s like while I’m playing, I’m reminding myself that regardless of the results, just play, play for God. It seems like very basic, but when you care a lot about the game, you really care about the results, obviously.”

Lin is in the final year of his contract, but he said his latest push at playing better isn’t because he’s looking for another deal.

“I can honestly say it hasn’t factored into my equation at all this year,” Lin said. “The reason why I say that is because I never thought I would make it to the NBA. I never thought I’d make the money that I’ve made. I never expected to have what I have today, so a lot of it is just trusting. God has always taken care of me. I don’t need to stress about it. I really am not worried about it.”

  • james brown

why do the three players liokes to wear long necklaces???LOL!!!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! Saw this pic plenty times but now I know what it’s about:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    LOL

  • joyce ward

As my girl Tamar Braxton would say: The chain craze needs to be “tapped out”.LOL

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Even more interesting is the guys wearing them:-) To my bias, always thought only gangsters would wear them:-)

  • Jimmy Buckets

He aint like those basic’s who stat pad at the cost of teams success in their final year
Lin continues to play the right way and help team win
He is unique and I’m sure he will get plenty of offers this summer
People need to talk about him more like they did Yao

  • Jimmy Buckets

    thug life
    ghetto style

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    PFV long vid

  • joyce ward

He implied lineup changes, but he said that Clarkson and Young will be starting for sure.

  • joyce ward

No it’s called fashion faux pas. BTW, what is ghetto style?..smh

  • joyce ward

Yao had the whole nation of China behind him, so the NBA could not ignore him, plus when the Yao didn’t get the calls from the refs Jeff Van Grundy stood up for him.

  • joyce ward

yep. I personally don’t think Mitch wants to spend a lot of money on players. I still say they will probably go after Kevin Love.

  • Jimmy Buckets

He still got a lot of calls regardless
Lin should have both china, taiwan and the whole asian american community behind him
what hes doing is incredible as a back up PG
more impressive than Bledsoe and collison or even reggie jackson when they were back ups
people talked about them not Lin
Im really starting to think this has more to do with race than anything else

  • Jimmy Buckets

I think he mentioned taking out all 5 of them at some point
Lin was gonna start again at some point

  • Brent Yen

Kowait Leonard just picked Bledsoe’s pocket…..no one says Bledsoe got bad handle so far….

  • joyce ward

No, he never said that. He also never implied that lin would be starting until after the visit from Mitch. Before Mitch’s visit the only thing he would commit to was that Clarkson/Young, then after mitch’s visit lin name pops up as probably starting at some point. I listen to what Scott says and he you can tell when he been given new orders, he starts flip flopping like it was his idea.

  • Yascar

Just checked box score of Miami game. Looks like Dragic didn’t close the game?

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Watch the game in the last few min. He’s not on…

  • 1mtoldman

dragic jackson both wanted their own teams; both being outplayed and out minutes’d by their back ups.

escape to something else is not always what one thinks it will be.

  • joyce ward

Well hello, it is about race when it comes to lin. But here is the thing, lin is playing so well that they can’t ignore him anymore. A lot of the players like him and respect his game. Like for instance, like you said lin probably mentoring MCW after the game. He was probably giving him some pointers.

  • Jimmy Buckets

Okay I only follow reporters on twitter
some of them wanted Lin to start then I guess

  • 1mtoldman

revolt of the tank players. knicks winning again. minny maybe winning. philly won last nite along with ny and la. whats a man like sam hinkie to do? quick waive some players who are performing to a standard other than “not prioritizing winning”.

  • Rick Johnson
  • CJSHYY

Ya! I think so… don’t know about Jackson bc didn’t watch his game after he went to Detroit. But did watch few games of Heat… Dragic is OK in Heat but I believe to Wade he sure prefer or more comfortable W Chalmers.

  • joyce ward

I think Wade is not pleased Dragic is there. I think what Dragic did ind ogf left a bitter taste in a lot of players mouths. He wants his own team.

  • Jimmy Buckets

He did it with some of the other up and coming young guards too they respect him
Lin is one of those guys you have to actually play against to know how good he is
He’s tough to guard and he defends you well
some of the old guys(DWIll) refuse to acknowledge him and take cheap shots at him all the time

  • Jimmy Buckets

    Wade was handling the ball
    he aint happy with dragic
he let chalmers handler the ball the moment he came in
    Dragic was iced out
    he made a bad decision

  • CJSHYY

That’s how I feel… Dragic first game in Heat was bad bc they didn’t pass the ball to him that much & Chalmers played well. I think Wade likes Chalmers more than Dragic. Dragic should stay w Sun..

  • Jimmy Buckets

    Chalmers is their fave
the big 3 used to yell at him on a daily basis
    when things dont go well
they yell at him even if its not his fault

  • CJSHYY

That’s what they did in first game w Dragic… I thought they did make some change…?! Well, I believe Dragic should miss the days in Sun a lot.

  • joyce ward

That is why, I believe Scott likes what he is seeing from the 2nd unit especially with lin leading them. lin plays smart basketball and the whole team becomes dangerous when he has the ball in his hand. I also think they want to resign him to help mentor Clarkson. Lakers know that no other PG in this league would do that.Lin and these guys have bonded. When hear Jordan Hill say things like these are my brothers and we look out for each other we genuinely love and trust each other, now that’s deep. Ellington said as much last night when they were down 15 points. He said they looked at each other and said we are better than this and then it became a team effort. Also if you notice last night lin leading the defense is what won the game last night.

  • blubell
  • joyce ward

True dat. I love it. All the Laker fans want Jackson, Dragic and Rondo to come to the Lakers and they are sucking badly on other teams. I hope Mitch/F/O don’t take that sucker bet. LOL

  • Jimmy Buckets

His career is gonna go down hill from here if he doesnt change his attitude
he bought into his own hype u cant do that
    Mia is still Wades team
If he goes to LA this summer, he will experience what Lin has gone through lets see if he can take it

  • Jimmy Buckets

Okay so they wanna sign him back thus starting him in the last 25 games,,,
hope Lin doesnt bite and evaluate all his options this summer
dont trust the LAL org and especially kobe and Scott

  • linspiredinla
  • Rick Johnson

Lin wants to spread God through basketball especially in Asia. No better place to do that from than the Lakers. Though it may not be in his self interest.

  • Jimmy Buckets

NYC aint bad either but cold
the thing is Lin elevated his game this season especially after that Nuggets game
wherever he goes, he will make a big difference
he will succeedd wherever he goes

  • Jimmy Buckets

Unlike these guys(maybe not rondo), when things dont go his way, Lin tries to work it out and he doesnt complain, in the end he grows as a person and becomes a better basketball player. These guys might get what they want but if they dont learn to deal with problems their careers will go downhill from here

  • Brent Yen

    Yes Sir!

  • linspiredinla

Jeremy Lin: “You’re asking me if I want to start?” Lin said. “Any athlete wants to start. Me included, yes.”

  • joyce ward

I have learned being a lin fan that his thoughts and ways are so above anyboyele’s, that is why respect him so much. He has that quiet strength. I have no doubt that whatever decision that he makes will be the right choice for him. I will still continue to support him.

  • 1mtoldman

and we thought dragic was doing bad in mia. phnx without him (and thomas) manage only 24 points in the first half 2nite; now trailing sa. by 30 in the third.

  • CJSHYY

I think Sun should not let go of IT if Dragic’s not stay why needed to trade IT?

  • joyce ward

    Exactly

  • Brent Yen

    IT is a semi-cancer

  • Jimmy Buckets

    they never trusted IT
    they wanted Knight

  • joyce ward

Wow, Scott is actually using defense terms and he and lin are on the same page according to the article, what is going on.

  • CJSHYY

I agree & really hope Lin will not buy FO told him the bright future ahead of him in Lakers. I knew they will put him back to starting lineup in the last 20 games to please him for FA signs w Lakers again (but w HB’s article about Rox also wants Lin in FA, FO moves a little bit earlier than I thought… ).

  • joyce ward

Which is shame because Kings didn’t want him either and when he got to Phoenix, he talked about he felt like the Suns liked him and wanted him.

  • CJSHYY

I think so. In fact, I think NYK is better than Lakers bc they really trust him as a PG not like Rox or Lakers always took PG job from him. Plus PJ said NYK should play like Hawks or Spurs right after vs Lakers in ESPN… I think it’s not really too bad bc Lin fight about these team ball theory since Rox period…

  • Jimmy Buckets

Hou now NEEDS Lin sorry KHuang used ur signature move
but Harden needs some help and when he goes to bench
    they need Lin
hope this time Lin stays on a team for long

  • Brent Yen

Rondo blew a fast break lay up….M……

  • Jimmy Buckets

PJ doesnt know what hes talking about half the time
hes a better coach than he is a GM
but yah Lin would be fine there
they can add some pieces this summer and melo and Lin will work well together now

  • Keith

Are these pgs still considered allstars? Imagine if they were treated like Lin, how bad were they gonna be?

  • Jimmy Buckets

dont think the celtics take him seriously either…

  • Allen Wayne

    Here is what was said!
JLin ” Did you see that dress in white and gold?”
MCW” Get out of here! It is blue and black!”

  • CJSHYY

He’s not that type of player.. DW plays well tonight vs Rondo….

  • joyce ward

    Why do you think that?

  • sport

Anyone know why Black was DNP after that injury?

  • sport

LOL Rondo is becoming a laughing stock, and yet Kobe wanted him on the Lakers! Of course since Rondo can’t score with TOs as much as his assists!

  • sport

Kawai Leonard didn’t get Finals MVP for nothing! Those long arms and legs can pretty much pick pocket all players! That’s why he was on Lebron during Finals last season which was awesome! There’s no doubt he’s the future of Spurs! Imagine if Leonard had Michael Jordan’s physique he’d be a beast!

  • joyce ward

After this game the Lakers go on the road. They play the Heat/Hornets/Grizzlies.

  • 1mtoldman

    point guard bues 2nite:

rondo outscored by opposite number ancient d. williams 24 to 8
rondo outscored by his own back up harris 14 to 8
rondo outscored by williams back up jarret jack 10 to 8

    tony parker 3 of 13 6 points
    patty mills 0 of 7 0 points

    eric bledsoe 3 of 9
    brandon knight 0 of 6 1 point
team has failed to score more than 17 points in any 1 quarter of 1st 3; trailing by about
    30 the entire game

    dante exum 0 of 3 0 points
    elijah milsap 0 of 5 3 points

    reggie jackson 4 of 12
outplayed, out minuted, out scored by 11 by his backup dinwiddie
in helping to break washington 6 game losing streak

goran dragic 2 of 7 for six points; nonfactor in loss to atl
as wade/chalmers control the ball (exactly what he was trying to get away from in phnx)
perhaps with phnx scoring only 24 points in the first half 2nite both parties regret the divorce

kyle lowrey wisely “resting” after several less than mediocre games to avoid the embarrassment
of participating in loss to the knicks

  • 1mtoldman

rondo is ideal for kobe; doesn’t take any shots. does pass.

  • 1mtoldman

ok explain this to me its like bae i know it has something to do with the internet but since i have no internet presence i have no idea what it refers to.

  • Jimmy Buckets

He’s still coming off the bench even though hes better than both starting guards
think they are more invested in Marcus Smart and Bradley

  • sport

Don’t care about the other teams but Lin needs to show up Dragic the hater and his tag along big mouth brother in that Heat game! I want JLin have have 20+ points and 5 assists! Without Chris Bosh, Lakers have a chance against Heat.

  • Acbc

Raptors feeling the pressure. 1/19 first quarter last game was really bad. They could have used Lin for sure.

  • Guest

Bledsoe played 31 minutes and had 0 assists and a +/- of -32. That’s hard to do even if you’re tanking.

  • sport

Sam Hinkie learned from the “best” Daryl Morey! It’s unfortunate Sam Hinkie hasn’t be fired yet!

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • bolero

    Lin; you’re breath stink .

  • CJSHYY

Really? Why I think IT plays well…?!

  • CJSHYY

    Why?

  • CJSHYY

FO asks BS to agree w Lin… the show to please Lin will continue from now on… LOL!

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think Lakers wants Rondo… But I really have to say w Ellis, Rondo became Lin in HOU after half court pass the ball to Ellis…. the different it’s Rondo can’t shoot?

  • joyce ward
  • CJSHYY

That’s why he didn’t play in late 4Q?

  • joyce ward

    Yep

  • joyce ward

OK, i have been on Mavericks forum and the fans are mad. Mavericks lost to the Nets. The fan had very harsh words for the coach, Rondo, Ellis, and they wanted to know when “soft Parson” was coming back because the Mavs are not paying him $15 million to sit on the bench hurt. After reading all of that, maybe not a good destination for lin. Team seem to have issues among themselves…just sayin…

  • CJSHYY

The main concern for me about Mav it’s Ellis bc he is more ISO than Harden sometimes. He is just like Harden didn’t let Rondo run the O ( I know Rondo didn’t fit in well w their system but..) He is just like Harden always control the ball. I doubt Lin will be happy w that …. you know Lin wants to be PG & plays team ball…

  • joyce ward
  • joyce ward

They talked about how Ellis hogging the ball and kept clanking shots even when they weren’t falling

  • grover chang

Sounds like everyone is still adjusting to their new roles. Lin had nights like above after being jerked around with role and benchings. Finally Scott is running out of ways to mess with Lin’s rhythm. Sad that Lin has to play against his opponent and his own coach.

  • Acbc

The beauty of spacing and timing is that it’s less about sheer physical athleticism and more about ball movement and great passing. That’s why Lin is so good with ball in hand. His elite physical speed and quickness creates fear and physical separation, but his ability to foresee small windows of timing makes his attacks doubly formidable.

Watching Lin work a well spaced offensive set is like watching a surgeon working a scalpel. Lin has the ability to make the slowest movers into formidable weapons. All it takes a little bit of time and willingness to learn to move off ball into empty spaces and ceases between defensive assignments. I watch Asik play recently and he looked lost and unsure. Without Lin to help him find empty spaces on the court, Asik simply doesn’t have the skills to be anything more than a defensive big.

  • grover chang

Best defense of Lin’s attitude I’ve heard. Too many people kepT saying he should rebel or do other things akin to a bad attitude. But Lin chose to be humble and turn the other cheek.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! He normally took lots of shots & he run the O more than Rondo.

  • Jimmy Buckets

im not defending him thou.. theres nothing to defend cuz he aint doing anything wrong aha
he shudnt rebel or complain thats what weak people do
life will throw shyt at u
u take it and deal with ur problem
ur weak if u choose the easy way

  • Filler-up

But he also gave Lin an A rating.

  • Briiick

Lin has elite software and hardware, very rare. LAL tanking to get a top 5 pick has much lower probability to get a player of Lin’s gifts. The only explanation is that the organization is jammed by a monkey wrench.

  • blubell
  • nodomo

Ellis was like that at GS, that’s why they let him go and went with Curry. After Ellis left GS, Curry blossomed. Ellis is a ballhog like Harden, and I personally don’t think DAL is a good situation for Lin.

  • nodomo

I think that they worry because of his height, that he’s a defensive liability against taller guards that can post him up. That despite IT being quick and having good steals stats. This is similar to the “perception” problem that Lin has, but with IT’s height.

  • Rick Johnson

I wouldn’t want Dolan to benefit from JLin reviving the Knicks. Jim Buss I don’t know. He is perhaps incompetent but hasn’t been shown to be a jerk yet. Perhaps Jeanie will take over and sweep Kobe, Scott and Jim Buss out. Even if Kobe comes back what are the odds of him finishing the season when he hasn’t for the past 3? He will probably end up doing a Nash, going through training camp and then pack it in collecting his $25 mil. If he retires now he would have to negotiate a buyout for next year.

  • dolphin2k2

Wade is on the way out. Bosh has a condition so his ability to play well in the future is not certain. MIA will need to pacify GD.

  • Linja

Lin is the last man standing.

  • FYI
I added the Poll for Game 58 vs OKC above.

Also, since I’ll be traveling a lot in the next 2 weeks, I will schedule Game Thread to be automatically published 2-3 hours before Game Time under Brent’s name. If the scheduling gets stuck and needs to be manually released, I will check and ask Brent to be my backup to release it.

Thanks. Let’s hope BScott can’t stop the Linsanity train even when he’s tanking!
Linsanity has awaken and it’s too late for BScott to stop it =)

  • John Lee

These are minor issues once team starts winning. Mavs were doing relatively well until Rondo arrived. Ellis is bad fit for Lin, but Carlisle can control him within a certain extent. At this point it’s pretty safe to say Rondo ain’t be back, and Ellis has a 3rd year player option at the end of this season. If some other team offers him more than 8.72 million, there’s a chance he might bolt. Mavs sans Rondo and Ellis is perfect for Lin, with former teammates Tyson, Amare, Chandler Parsons and Greg Smith on the team.

  • John Lee

While I don’t think Jason Kidd likes Lin, per say, but he does respect the talent he sees. He knows Lin’s the real deal, takes game to know game.

  • deesee5
  • John Lee

Kobe does not need a PG, he just needs a caddy. I hope Kobe retires ASAP and moves on to golf.

  • deesee5

Ok, a little off topic but I just ran into this meme. This is too funny not to share! LOL

    http://breakbrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/just-kobe-trolling-his-teammate-funny-basketball-picture.jpg

  • deesee5

After next season.. But why does it matter? I highly doubt Lin will be back next season. Let them Lakes suffer with Bryant’s ball hogging ways.

  • John Lee

Well the average casual fan doesn’t know any better. Lin’s the unanswered prayer turned dream come true, and some fans are too dumb to realize it.

  • Rick Johnson

Lin would fit the Mavs so much better than Rondo:

    https://twitter.com/espn_macmahon/status/571923731502637056?s=09

  • John Lee

Lin would fit ANY team much better than Rondo, because he adjusts his game for the team’s sake, not the other way around.

  • JoeTeam

hmmm … stop tanking = kobe under control next year on limited final year minutes. If they do not, they may as well tank and get some long term talent. That’s the thing … they could have have a run this year with Lin, but Kobe forced it and his body and shooting % couldn’t do it.

  • JoeTeam

that’s really nasty … on the temple and he it might have been super serious … thankful he didn’t get a temple-shot.

  • John Lee

Oh, by ASAP I meant now. The less I see Kobe’s face the better for my health and appetite, Kobe disgusts me.

Realistically speaking, Kobe will at least stay around ’till April 2016, but there’s an upside to that: Lin will have the chance to come back with his new team of choice to DECIMATE and HUMILIATE the egomaniac. The best part…many Lakers fans would actually cheer for Lin when that happens!

  • HeroBallJLIN

This is what they were afraid of. Linsanity happening and messing lottery pick. They decide to test out Lin and it happened. BS will find ways for Linsanity to not continue. BS got the wins he wanted against bos and bucks. Now its back to tanking.

  • Rick Johnson
  • John Lee

BS is in trouble, especially during home games. Fans demand Lin (especially after free tacos) and F/O cares about home fans’ reaction. BS tried to marginalize Lin in the Jazz game, but the team is now more consolidated than ever to overthrow the tank after KoBS condemning the victory celebration (win over Celtics). Even Hill, seemingly the one who believed in Lin the least, now appears to be onboard the Lin wagon.

The last 25 games would be intriguing indeed.

  • HeroBallJLIN

Lin has to always make doubters into believers. Even with his own teammates and coach. He has to prove he can lead this team to victory if given the opportunity. Maybe they finally see the picture. Its not about just pts or asst.

  • John Lee

At least doubters can be turned around given time, unlike haters who will NEVER see the light.

  • yes, I’m sure BScott wants to go back tanking after beating JKidd.

It will be back to the board for BScott to find new lineup so Lin’s chemistry won’t be as good with his teammates.

  • John Lee

The team chemistry and camaraderie, though not yet 100%, is beginning to show its anti-tanking effects. Even Hill, one of the least compatible players with Lin, is showing improvements. At this point I think Sacre is the least compatible with Lin IMHO.

  • Rick Johnson
  • deesee5

I don’t think so. Kobes fan base is too strong and loyal. Trust me on that!

Don’t worry about Kobe next season. Lin is probably not going to play along side with him, and that’s the important part. If the broken Kobe stinks it up for that team then oh well. I ain’t trippin! I hate the Lakers anyway. Haha.

  • sport

Yes if Rondo and Ellis are out of there then Mavs are a great team for Lin.

    I’m Back! 🙂

Wow another great game by Lin. Nice to see LAL is Linning, hope that continues!

    Post ASG
Lin’s minutes has increased, FGA, had increased, including his PTS and had full check on his TOV!

    Pre ASG:-
    25Min; 8.2FGA; 42.6FG%; 37.4 3P%; 77.7FT%; 4.6AST; 2.4TOV; 10.2PTS
    PostASG:-
    26.8Min; 11.5FGA; 50FG%; 23.1 3P%; 72.7FT%; 4.3AST; 0.5TOV; 16.3PTS

  • Maknusia

Yeah, all he needs is a coach that trust him

  • Maknusia

    Thankyou, Sir! 🙂

  • John Lee

Monta Ellis 12 pts on 4-16 (-18) and Rondo 8 pts on 4-10 (-22) in loss to Nets, who played the Rox the night before. Clear as day who should be shipped out and which selfless player should be brought in.

    Make it so, Mr. Cuban.

  • Maknusia

Lin also has had just two turnovers in those four games, of which the Lakers have won the past three — matching their longest winning streak of the season.

Scott likes what he’s seeing, and Lin may well get a start soon.

“I still plan on starting him sometime before the season’s over,” said Scott, whose team Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. will play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder (35-27). “I don’t know if it’s going to be next week or the week after. But I like the way he’s playing right now.

    hmm interesting….

  • Maknusia

what happened to CP? Injured? or DNP?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Welcome back! Where r u now? Very confused:-)

  • John Lee

Apparently, new set of orders from F/O. Robert Horry and to a lesser extent Stu Lantz both started changing their rhetoric. Lin can always turn doubters around, but not haters. Someone more powerful (GM or higher) has spoken.

  • Maknusia

    well said!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Indeed, very interesting. Can’t wait to see what else will happen:-)

  • John Lee

It is so apparent whether a coach knows what he’s talking about. This is obviously leaps and bounds above “ball got sticky” and/or “we were soft”.

  • Filler-up

We all hope for his sake, the Lakers sake and the players sake. Nothing like a someone who stayed too long at the party.

  • Rzo Vlade

sorry for being a jerk but if lakers lost and jlin had a bad game you re the jinx……

Their lineup today is crazy small; RC let JJ Barea play SF?? I dont understand why people want Lin to sign with Mavericks so much. Once Tyson leaves or Dirk retires this summer, Mavericks wont be a great team soon.

  • John Lee

Good coaches breed good team culture, so as long as Carlisle is around and has some say with GM, Mavs will remain a decent team. Prime example, Hawks rested several of their starters, yet they are still competitive and still beat the Heat. Same last year with Spurs resting four key players and only lost to the LeBron-led healthy Heat by a single basket. So while Tyson and Dirk may not have many years left, Mavs will remain a good developing ground for Lin, on the premise that Rondo and Ellis are gone.

  • 1mtoldman

the problem with tanking is: no players want to tank and no matter how badly the fo decimates the roster or the coach mismanages the talent he has eventually the players start playing as you say with some “chemistry and camaraderie” and deflate the “not prioirtizing winning” stragegy of hinkie et. al.

we can see this in recent wins by lakers, nicks, minn almost beating mephis last nite, and 6ers, yes even hinkies own 6ers where any player of any compotence is dispatched in pursuit of all the draft picks in the world winning some. or at least in the games.

thats why scott keeps changing the lineups. but with so few players left to work with makes it more difficult.

the okc game will be interesting because both teams only will have 9 or 10 players healthy.

last man standing. could be like that game last year where lakers had so few players on the bench when one player fouled out he was allowed under an obscure rule to come back in because otherwise there wouldn’t be 5 players on the court. (or something like that i dont remember the details, selective memory loss) . but the general theme is correct. you can fill in the details.

  • 1mtoldman

    foot in boot.

  • 1mtoldman

i dont see the problem with ellis others do. hes a scorer. but not a black hole. hes a good scorer tho not a great shooter. he doesn’t take that many shots or hold the ball a long time. he has a lot of assists. let me put it this way: hes no kobe/melo/harden/westbrook. (westbrook is the new kick tho with a slighted dented crown).

  • John Lee

Though under RC’s tutelage Ellis is less damaging to the team than he otherwise would’ve been, I just can’t wipe the memory of him impeding Curry’s development.

  • kittyhead

I am worried they dont have any good bigs if Tyson and Dirk leave. Having no good bigs will force them to play very small a lot. Letting JJ Barea play sf is really crazy for me.lol Lin needs a good center to play with him! Let alone Ellis and Parsons like to handle the ball to be effective…Many Mavericks fans say they only need a 3D starting point guard and say PB will be a good fit. LOL

  • joyce ward

I have a problem with Ellis, he is by default the PG most of the time in the games.

  • 1mtoldman

as i said i dont see the problem with ellis others (including yourself and most posters here) do.

  • 1mtoldman

i know nothing of his gs time; but there is no statistical evidence at present to suggest he belongs in the same category as those others listed.

altho i have not seen that many dallas games in the games i have seen. i didn’t see ellis acting as a point guard. and dallas decline came with the arrival of rondo.

rondo was to eclipse the package of rotating point guards but he failed; barea and harris have outperformed him. and he’s become effectively the 3rd point guard.

i again thru either statistical data or actual observation of games see no evidence to suggest the story line on ellis which imo is one of those repeated story lines that is not based on factual evidence as is often the case with lin critics.

of course im not going to change you guys minds and yer not going to change mine.

when i see some sort of statistical evidence or visible evidence from game footage to suggest this narrative valid then i will concede.

  • 1mtoldman

i dont know how you are defining “shot attemptes” but if you are attempting to speak to fga; this is entirely incorrect.

westbroook/mello/harden/anthony (the four i referenced above) along with lamarcus aldridge take the most fga’s per game. significantly more than anyone else

ellis is relatively average. about the same as any other scorer. he is a shooting guard. the criticism of him is that he acts as a point guard. again i dont see that. maybe i haven’t seen enuf dallas games but i doubt the other critics have seen anymore than i.

    i dont know useage rates.

  • John Lee

Oh but I agree that Ellis is better under Rick Carlisle, but believe it’s more a product of the system rather than a voluntary change on Ellis’ own. Perhaps you’re right, but you know what people say about “once bitten…”, not to mention Lin fans have been bitten three times!

  • TTNN

not sure whether you actually watch the game or not, both Chandler did not play. Elise was cold but he was not a ball hog, he plays way better in Mavericks than his previous days.

But, Rondo hurt their offense for sure, he slow the pace down, and stop the ball movement, and the lowest +/- really mean something. Big difference when he is on the court vs. off the court. You don’t even need to look for players, just see how many people touch the ball per possession, you could tell. And his shooting is horrible,

Mav has good coach indeed but the most concern for me from Mav it’s Ellis. Don’t like back court has the player hopping the ball almost the whole game long. That will not fit in well w Lin wants to be PG & team ball theory. Ellis is worst than Harden & that’s not good idea…

Lin has done it as a reserve, even leading the Lakers in scoring twice off the bench since the break.

  • orLinaryjoe

Like the concept. Not sure I like Lin wearing a shirt of himself. Reminds of why I chose my handle. Every ordinary joe is capable of doing something good or great, and has the potential of doing a Lin thing, whatever great or small. A great bball player, a good husband or wife, a fantastic father or mother, you get the point. Don’t be fooled by the exterior.

  • orLinaryjoe

A toast to the underdogs, Lin and company, to defy all odds and to show LA, Kobe, BS, and to play like they can!

  • Maknusia

Props from JKidd…probably been posted way back into the pages…

[Lin is] a guy that can get the ball in the paint and cause two guys on the ball,” said Bucks Coach Jason Kidd. “He found open guys and also got to the free-throw line. He played a great fourth quarter.”

  • Acbc

The problem isn’t that coaches and players league wide knows or not. The real problem is that no one seems to want the Asian guy to be their leader on the team.

Knicks, Rockets and Lakers all tried desperately to bury Lin with lies and propaganda because they want their own “star” to “win”. They’d rather lose with their own chosen ones than let Lin be their star.

  • linspiredinla

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/blogs/triple-threat/Lakers-Vs-Thunder-injury-to-Westbrook-294542001.html.” the team as a whole is playing better, and a large part of that is Jeremy Lin’s recent positive play.”

  • Acbc

I kept thinking that Raptors should have gone after Lin on a trade with Vasquez. The salaries weren’t that far off. Vasquez was 6.5 mil and Lin was 8. Raptors need a PG that can penetrate and wreck defences. Someone like Lin would have made them into a east finalist and maybe even a title. Lin with Lew Williams, PPat, Fields would roll over any second unit in the league and provide instant scoring should the starters falter like they have for the last 4 games. Masai Ujir has done a great job, but he played safe on this one and may live to regret it.

  • Sophie Paris

Lin will do fine in FA.

  • Arsenium12 .

    Question : Best teammate ever?

Answer : Tie between Steve Novak, Landry Fields, and Chandler Parsons.

Novak was traded to the Thunder at the trade deadline (Feb. 19th). Unfortunately he underwent an appendectomy about a week ago and so won’t be playing today.
    __________

  • Acbc

    Parsons? Lol

But, it was quite a remainder of Linsanity to millions of Kemmel Show viewers. It is actually very positive for Lin !!! Kobe, the low life arrogance, made a fool of himself and missed an opportunity to show a big heart, thus, defining himself as small sighted person.

  • GoodDayLA

I think it’s interesting Scott acknowledged Lin will start again this season. That means the Lakers are just keeping their options with Lin, treating him just well enough and giving Lin just enough of what he wants to keep all options alive while the Lakers continue to figure out just what Lin is exactly capable of if really given a chance under circumstances on the floor that appeal to Lin.

Still with Kobe there, it is a futile project and I suspect Lin will leave and hopefully pummel enough teams the next 2 months to get an offer from 1 of the teams he kills in the coming months.
