G55 CHA @BKN Game Thread

In the 1st game back after the All-Star break, Jeremy Lin did not have a good shooting night vs the Bucks but managed to contribute with superb defense on 6’8” Khris Middleton (4 steals for the night). It’s a night when he didn’t have his shooting rhythm and it didn’t help he played SG next to Kemba as PG so he didn’t handle the ball much to get him get a good rhythm. But the Hornets managed to pull an important road win in the 1st out of 5 road games.

  1. Will JLin play PG with Courtney Lee is expected to play? Or will Coach Clifford assign JLin to be the PG to get him in rhythm?
  2. Will JLin find his shooting form that he tried to practice during the ASB break?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s hope and pray he gets comfortable playing in NY and have a great bounce-back game as always

Is that photoshopped? Cause that’s spooky.

  • I have no idea …
It is spooky since that boy has no business jumping on that side (just to enjoy the scenery) *weird*

  • Good to see Novak is coming home (Wisconsin) to sign with the Bucks after the DEN buyout

  • If Sean Marks the new Nets GM is watching tomorrow, it might be a good game for JLin to impress them for next season.

  • DX

But how many minutes can Lin get?
Lee will add in and even less if it’s blow out.

Hi Wu Kong, I hope you will have a great time and hope you will get to meet several fans from this site…I believe it is Adele and Rosebud with her two sons. I am sure there are more but can not recall their names.

  • Spot

So it’s you, Adele and Rose. You should meet each other and plan something big =D

  • Spot

Naa, hopefully it’ll be the Sixers. James, Paul and Anthony will play together with the Knicks in 2017.

  • Yascar

Hi Wu Kong! So you’re going to the game or you’re going to be in flight while it’s on?

“The problem about change is if it doesn’t work you couldn’t reverse back to the original form. The original form is lost.”

This was a comment made by a fan just recently about how Lin’s shot form is broken. Well, the truth is that sometimes a new form looks bad because it’s uncomfortable. It’s uncomfortable precisely because the muscle memory is trying to overwrite something ingrained. What’s ingrained is comfortable but wha’s new will often feel unnatural.

This comment is precisely why many pros never advance pass much more than what they’ve brought “to the dance”. The game that got them to the pro is okay and may in fact be able to improve their status marginally by repetition of a bad form. But that form has a natural ceiling that can never be broken because it’s technically impossible to squeeze more out of that bad form. Lin was shooting just over. 30% from the 3s during Linsanity. Each year he’s improved slightly as his form keeps getting better.

Just as the poster said, there is a gamble to choose to revamp a stroke. There is a risk that it could get broken down so much that you’ll never get it back. This is precisely why many pros don’t do what Lin is trying to do. It takes a lot of faith and perseverance to go through that process and stay with it through the necessary lows that come with learning something new.

Is it worth it? Lin thinks so and so do I. This was a lesson I learned from following a lady tennis player Justine Henin’s career. She was 5’6″ talented tennis player that wowed many with her beautiful backhand and all court game when she broke in as a rookie. She came up in the transition of the game to what is now known as “big babe tennis”. Ladies like Serena and Venus Williams were crushing everyone with their size, speed and power.

At 5’6″ tall, Henin had no chance in that big game style. She had to be technically perfect to squeeze every last ounce of power from her physical size. She had to be the best fit and mentally tougher than anyone else on every point. In the beginning of her career she would hit big on almost every point. She’d hit hard on every important point even when she didn’t need to. She’d lose so many matches by making errors going for lines when all she needed to do was play safe and let her opponent crumble under her pressure.

I use to scream at the tv screen at her dumb mistakes for letting matches slip away. Meanwhile her compatriot Kim Clyster became one of the first players to be ranked number 1 without winning a major while Henin continued to struggle in the rankings. Then one day she started to make those key shots she missed. She’d crush those important points with more and more regularity until it was expected that she’d make them. It was then that she’d started to beat all the big ladies that stood in her way of the grandslams.

What Henin taught me was that she was never playing against the lower rank players when she lost all those matches early in her career. Henin was always playing as if she was playing against Serena or Venus. Henin was missing shots because she had to always play at her own limits to beat the greatest players in the game. In Henin’s mind she was always playing Serena Williams. Henin was not aiming to be one of the best, she was aiming TO BE THE BEST!

To contrast this is another Belgium lady player who was a rising player that fought a tough match against Henin in the 2012 Australian open. Yanina Wickmayer had a lot of promise and sought the advise of Henin’s coach. Carlos Rodrigues told her father that she would need to revamp her serve and Wickmayer decided to not follow his advise. After many years on tour she is still no where near the top 10 player she could have been. Her father opted to play safe and not risk changing a game that had gotten his daughter to the pros. Is it okay to be just a top 50 player in the world? Some people think it’s okay; there’s Lin fans that thinks Lin should not aim to be the greatest and accept his role now as a combo guard role player.

Jeremy Lin is doing the much more difficult thing. Lin will never aim JUST to be a rank and file player. He believes in himself totally that he could shoot like Curry, pass like Nash and defend better than any PG has ever done. Lin believes in Doc and trusts him to take his game to the next level. I will continue to believe in whatever Lin choose to do that’s right by him. Until Lin decides otherwise, I’ll defend his continue struggle to get to the next level. Lin is working his butt off to be the best ever. I think it’s a dream worth risking for.

  • Brent Yen

    Yes sir!

  • james brown

nice dissertation on what should one wish to accomplish and how to make those dream a reality. i salute your words because it explains the passiveness of some and chose to be just safe, while explaining how it is important to understand oneself first to know how can one who has limitations maximize that limited potential and still make a big impact on pursuing one’s dream.

Thank you for your insight and foresight on the things that almost all poster here wish to say and share.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I’m expecting lin to play no more than 20 if Lee is in the lineup.

  • Hans

I am surprised that you brought tennis up, because I was thinking about the same thing. I went throught similar struggle was Jeremy with a twig in technique. I was trained in the 80s as a tennis player and my coach taught me to play an all around game like John McEnroe, so I had the socalled continental grip that was good to hit shots from all over the court but nothing too powerful. I played with that for decades until post 2000s when the whole world was putting massive top spin on the strokes with these western or even extreme western grip, which gave me all the troubles in the world. So there was a year where I just made up my mind, and decided to adjusted my grip to a semi-western grip just to get a notch more spin in my strokes. I suffered for a whole year with unforced errors before break even with the pros and cons. It really is difficult to change something us as human have done repeatively for thousands of times, and I can only agree with the prime example of Justine Henin, and therefore believe in the adjustment that Jeremy is determined to make. i believe Jeremy is aiming for a higher cieling than playing it safe, and I shall salute him for that.

  • adele

Excited to meet Rose and hopefully wu Kung but not so keen on having Lee for the first time. The chemistry will be affected for sure. Just hoping i can have a picture with Lin, Rose an wu Kung while I’m there. Getting ready my Lin jersey.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Hope you will post up those photos to share with us. Enjoy the games.

  • rookie75094

I think it’s photoshopped…because the s behind his head is not line up with the word win in front of his head

  • adele

Yes. Going to be a fun night. I’m not sure if I can bring poster though. There might be rules

  • sport

Fly just to see a basketball game? That’s a lot of money spent to support JLin. O.O

  • sport

So much for wishing a Lin x Novak reunion! They were so much fun to watch!

  • Bulldog

Tiger Woods had gone through exact the same path to reform his swing. The outcomes include the greatest lead in the US open histroy and 300+ weeks rank 1.

  • Brent Yen

Just enjoy as much as you can….should be a good game!

  • Lefon Jang

You’re absolutely right. Lin should stay with the change. His form is looking better even though his arc is lower. But I think that will improve once he gets comfortable with the new form. I was a little emotional when I made that comment. It was during the game and his shots wasn’t falling.

  • BobbyH

Great post as usual. I have the exact same thought about Lin’s shooting form but could not gather words to depict it or come up with any real-life example. I am wondering Naurto had gone through the similar process. But You said it all.

There are only few of the few that has the mindset and will to go through this long revamp process. Lin indeed is the rare of the rare animal.

  • Arsenium12 .

For those going to the game, a note about signs and cameras :

    — Signs, flags, or banners must not be larger than 11″ x 17″. They must not be affixed to a pole.
    — Cameras must not have external flash or interchangeable lenses.

Enjoy the game! For more information, see : http://www.barclayscenter.com/guest-services/prohibited-items

  • BobbyH

Just a reminder that tonight’s game starts at 6 pm EST, as the game time on the top of this page is one hour late. I am wondering if it is CT time.

  • gum

I think Rose and her boys go to the game much earlier. I hope you get to do the same so that you can have some private time with Lin while he comes out to practice before the game! Enjoy!

  • heart

Lin is not aimed to be “one of the best, but to be the best!” Believe it! Let it be. Amen to that!

  • heart

Enjoy and Have Fun. May you witness Linsanity tonight against all odds! Believe! Be safe.
Edit: please tell Lin that he has lots of fans praying for him on this forum. Thanks. Heart.

  • gum

It is NY (ET) time at 6pm. Not realizing that it starts earlier than the normal 7pm, I invited my daughter and her family for my daughter’s birthday dinner at 5:30pm.. I will have to chase them off right after BD cake! Go Lin…

  • heart

Acbc is or was a tennis coach. His posts are very thoughtful and well written. Worth reading. I’ve come to appreciate his writings.

  • Acbc

Haha, Women do tend to be more thoughtful and have way better language skills. I appreciate that you enjoy my ramblings. I am however a man. No worries, I’m not insulted in any way.

  • Acbc

Thanks JB, always enjoy your posts as well.

  • Michael

    If you say so.

  • Michael

He’s hugging Lin tighter than he is hugging his wife, but I doubt she cares anyway.

  • Acbc

Hans, been there, done that! I also grew up playing with a continental grip like “the Rocket” Rod Laver. Watched the game change with Agassi with wonder and amazement. I miss the beauty of Henin’s game and hope Federer can provide us a few more years of his balletic style of grace and style.

Good luck with your grip change. Unfortunately, the courts and balls now are so slow that the attacking game has been pushed aside for a grinding bashing dulldrum.

  • Acbc

No worries bud, we all want him to be the best ever. Khuang and I disagree on many things, but we both agree on the most important thing. We believe that Lin is a game changer and a once in a generation player. I have always believed that and will hope that someday, someone will give him another chance. Maybe. Next year with MDA again!

  • Acbc

He is indeed a rare breed of athlete. I hope Lin will bring peace and love to the world like Naruto too….one step at a time.

“This is my ninja way”. Lol

  • Acbc

    I believe!

  • Acbc

People love to hate on Tiger for all the changes he’s made to his game, but they never mention the fact that his changes have separated him from the field by such a wide margin that it’s a record that’s almost untouchable.

There is only one truth in life…if you stand pat, you’ll get run over. If you become satisfied with your lot, you’ve already reached the top of your own Mount Everest; from there, the only place you can go is down.

  • Acbc

Hope all is well with your family and love ones in Taiwan.

  • Brent Yen

    We are all good! thanks!

  • your son’s voltaire

fedex hits with a semi western slash eastern so he’s got plenty of top to go with all that power and grace

  • t8kit2dMAX

Good post Cuz I have a huge sign but too bad my jersey didn’t arrived on time
Anyone know where I can get a Lin jersey in NYC

  • Linzen

Loyalty of course is one of Jeremy’s strength. But I believe his desire to improve and be the best is the only reason he changes his shooting form.
Please read ACBC’s post, maybe it’ll help you see it differently.
    Still support JLIN 100%!

  • travis

On my way to see jlin play live for the first time, and also to get a signature, I believe !

  • LAJane

Good luck with the signature. Have a blast. Hope there will be good things to report!

OK. So it’s you, Rose, Adele and Wu Kong.

    Great!

  • travis

For anyone going to the game I’ll be wearing a China Yao Ming jersey lmao

  • BobbyH

Just kidding. School is more important. Enjoy your game.

  • Rick Johnson

Where you sitting? Behind visitors bench?

  • travis

Nah right across from the home bench

  • LAJane

How many times can I up vote this great, great post.!

My only sorrow about it is that it will quickly recede down the pages and the uninformed fans who need to read and understand it most won’t see it. Well…and maybe even if they see it, they won’t absorb it…often seems it’s more fun to get all worked up and snarky and shout ‘stupid Lin get a new coach’.

    Acbc…so glad you’re here for us πŸ™‚

  • Spot

Great example. I really liked Justine Henin too.

  • heart

Enjoy and hope you meet some Linew fans. Be safe.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Undefeated Nets since ASG should not be taken any lightly.

  • adele

Hopefully he will have a great game tonight

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He never disappointed in the big Apple.

  • sport

Cliff have made up loads of excuses to bench Lin, I doubt it. He’s benched Lin in most games so why start him now? Don’t tell me Hornets are only doing this to trick Lin into signing with them; too little too late. Maybe Cliff doesn’t like Lee just like how he’s bias against Lamb and Daniels which would be Lin’s luck! Whatever the case Lin needs to both start, get touches and minutes to shine!

  • LAJane

I used to keep bees…love the pretty reference. They do dance! πŸ™‚

This is Cliff and Hornets. Can’t wait until the day I don’t have to watch Cliff and Hornets.

  • Whitman Lam

Otherwise why trade for him, if he’s not starting ?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Good on you! Have fun there!

  • Whitman Lam

Nets won 1 game at home vs. Knicks who might be in tank mode.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Basically, Lee replaces PJ but the difference is he will close games.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Incompetent. Cliff should not be a head coach either.

  • sport

I knew it was too good to be true. Watch Lin barely getting any minutes. Forget defense Lin needs to shoot more to practice his new shooting form in game situations!

  • your son’s voltaire

    and play actual starter minutes

  • heart

VERY sad indeed! Have to believe God will turn it around for Lin’s good in God’s TIMING…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

When first report I believed but wondering.

  • your son’s voltaire

defense is great but all the league cares about is scoring unless your’re a player in direct competition for playing time versus Lin

  • Rick Johnson

Yes, Lin needs to get his shot going. So frustrating watching him miss wide open jumpers. At lease he’s hitting his free throws now so perhaps it is process. Still frustrating none the less.

  • sport

With Lee start for rest of the games, Hornets will be out of the playoffs very soon and they deserve it.

  • adele

    I hope so. Disgusting!

  • Rick Johnson

Nets are so bad the Hornets will probably win tonight and they will think what they are doing is working. Fools gold.

  • sws94

SGs are usually listed 2nd, that’s why I asked. Thanks.

  • heart

Bonnell reported what is written on the game notes. He tweeted “game notes list Jeremy Lin as the starter at shooting guard, rather than Courtney Lee.” I found it curious and suspect that Cliff may have decided to change it on the fly while being interviewed by the media. Bc per Bonnell, the GAME NOTES already had Lin’s name on it!!! Yes, I believe Cliff is the culprit of this CHANGE of HEART!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Hopefully I will only suffer for another 28 games of Cliff and Hornets. I’ve given up on Cliff and Hornets for a long while now. Bar from any injury from Kemba preventing him to play, JLin will play low minutes even if Hornets makes it playoff. Even though I know JLin wants another playoff but….. Anyway going back for not watching games unless JLin is in. No point to suffer for this “lowly” coach and organization.

  • Rick Johnson

When Kemba starts as PG Wednesday and Cleveland runs them out of the court the Hornets and media will be wondering how they beat them last time. But they will just blame it on home court advantage instead of giving Lin credit.

  • Alain Gervais

probably. Seem he may be debating who should start. We will see

  • JLin Fan from Australia

That’s always the case when it comes from JLin since his young days. HIs mom said so in Linsanity doc.

  • your son’s voltaire

clifford has now moved ahead of byron scott as the worst coach ever for Lin

  • Alain Gervais

    No

  • your son’s voltaire

  • Alain Gervais

  • your son’s voltaire

  • Alain Gervais

Lin has learned a lot from this year. Its just unfortunate Kemba is on the hornets. Lin is too short for SG full time. Datum is also a ball handler. Its not his fault all of this is the case.ts just where Lins career is after Lakers and Rox. The story continues. We will see what happens next

  • travis

    My view for the night!

  • Acbc

Lol, that’s why I like to borrow the term “Lin express” to describe how he brings his teammates along for the ride. Federer express is my wife’s favorite player. He was tested to have the second highest topspin rate behind Nadal.

  • heart

Very nice! Is Lin on the floor yet? Do you have the game flyer? Does it list Lin or Lee as starter?

  • your son’s voltaire

i don’t know about being too short for SG. he’s had success guarding even SF’s and guys 6’8″ tall. talk about being too short to guard players.. Kemba starts every night. and Batum is too slow to play as a ball handler/distributor. nothing stopping clifford from doing that

  • travis

It says lins the starter but apparently he’s not starting πŸ™

  • Alain Gervais

    This is true.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

WOW You have a great view! Please post more when you can! Thanks in advance!

  • heart

Thanks. Just like I suspect. Cliff may have a change of heart on the fly to start Lee. Or it’s more insidious to think that he may have gotten a call from FO/Cho to start Lee, so Cliff complies!!! Thank you for your reply.

  • spiderman

It’s easier to think of 2 months than 28 games:)

Season is almost over … Hornets will rightfully return to their losing ways after Lin leaves

  • heart

Did you read my posts exchange w/ Travis who’s at the game right now. He answered my question. Read it and let me know what you think. I’m incensed w/ Cliff/Cho/Hornets org. right now…. They’re insidious….

  • heart

Travis, please keep us posted w/ pics and updates if you can ok. Thanks so much. Enjoy the game…

  • your son’s voltaire

yup. and i agree with you most of the time. but it has always been clifford imo, though i do think that MJ has some influence when it comes to certain players like Kemba/Tank/PJ, even though he had to let PJ go since there’s no helping that

  • Rick Johnson

So many players out of position. Got a SG at SF, SF at SG, short SG at PG

  • Joe what do you know

I’m sadden that this site has become more and more like a whinging site over the course of time…. Yes we all like to see JLin been treated well and fair. Yes we all see the adversity that he has been through and hoping that tide can turn in his favour. But the way that we support him can be more gracious and noble like JLin himself rather than resorting to throwing insults at his coach/teammates/team full time. I used to check this site and try to contribute on a daily basis. But I have really lost my passion seeing this place becoming a quagmire of negative emotions and pessimistic rant. It’s just bewildering and hopelessly amusing to see an icon of positivity and persistency like JLin so dearly loved by people who exhibit opposite traits and mentality to him….

  • travis

Chinese New Year thing probably because Jeremy’s in town haha

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Glad to see the writers at NetDaily.com are stating that the Nets should consider bringing in Jeremy Lin next year, specially if he plays well tonight.

Nets should had signed Lin instead of Larkin…Let’s hope they make that move next summer.

  • heart

My guts tell me that Cliff changed his decision independently on the fly at first, but we can never underestimate Cliff as a ‘yes’ man after hearing a call from FO. Cliff may have already made the decision to start Lin, that’s why the flyer listed Lin’s name as starter. But minutes or hours before or while being interviewed by the press, he gave a different answer from what has already been printed on the flyer, i.e. to start Lee instead of Lin. Either way, the outcome is insidious knowing that Lin is being jerked around by Cliff and FO. I’m so incensed….

Clifford is not even close to B Scott’s level of inept coaching.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    YESSSSSSS!

  • adele

We are on the opposite side.

  • heart

You’re so close… Great seats. Can you hear them talking?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

So happy to hear so many Lin fans are at the game.

  • rookie75094

I am watching the piston game and notice the female ref that I like Lauren Holtkemp is a Jlin fan…she wears number 7…hehe

  • takemeback2reaganyears

She’s a good lipreader too. Haha not to worry.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Another fan is in the game. Enjoy!

  • rookie75094

    Added bonus…the piston gonna lose…hahaha

  • kauaiblue

    Have fun… Go JLin!

  • heart

    Are you wearing Lin’s jersey?

  • heart

    You and I both agree…Yes!

  • rookie75094

Anthony Davis scored 59 pts…he on my fantasy team…awsome

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Feel so good that I can watch the game without listening to Ms Ready.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • takemeback2reaganyears

Starters come out flat, Lin saves the day. That’s mine prediction.

  • your son’s voltaire

she doesn’t praise Lin much aside from the “Keep on ticking” comment but at least she doesn’t put him down

  • heart

    Me too.

  • adele

Oh my gosh I’m 8 feet away where Lin is sitting, he just drink some water. So thrilled!

  • Alain Gervais

    lee listed as SF

  • heart

Wow, please take pics and recordings if you can. Enjoy the game.

  • adele

Can’t wait to just pat her back he he he

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

    Awesome!

  • kauaiblue

screw this team… so shortsignted… they invest in 2 players who no one will remember in 5 years and on top of that dont even win… with JLin, the team that invests in him will forever be remembered as the team that had JLin as their guy… talk about dumb… clifford and jordan are at the top of the list…

  • your son’s voltaire

sweet! keep us updated. especially what he will be drinking next!

  • your son’s voltaire

come up with a secret handshake and show it to him

  • heart

Yes, if you can shake his hands or take a pic w/ him close by.

  • kauaiblue

    Report please!!

  • adele

They’re putting ice on his back.

  • LinMad

    Lets see how Batum plays

  • kauaiblue

I can’t believe that walker is the face of this franchise… smh

  • your son’s voltaire

why? he’s already got ice in his veins..

  • kauaiblue

    are nets any good?

  • Alain Gervais

    no

  • kauaiblue

    so they win tonight… boo

  • LinMad

So empty at Barclays center, Nets could have a great reboot if they take MDA and Lin

  • kauaiblue

    boring…

  • Linzen

Careful if you do that. Don’t want to get a red card πŸ˜‰

  • rookie75094

Donal Sloan playing pg for the nets…lol

  • Kemba passed to noone .. this is why it’s better off that he shoots than pass

  • your son’s voltaire

Sloan is looking like a superstar

  • LinMad

defense falling apart. Lee looked good though

  • adele

They are winning. Kemba is so short.

  • sws94

    Ridiculous pass, Batum.

  • rookie75094

Nb try to imitate Jlin no look home run pass…fail

  • LinMad

    ughhhhhh, Batum playing point still…

  • adele

    Kemba got a bad TO

  • Alain Gervais

He is pj improved nothing more

  • rookie75094

    True compare to kw

  • too many careless passes
    wasted possessions *sigh*

  • rookie75094

I still see him on the bench

  • Alain Gervais

Adele is at the game i think.

  • LinMad

Hornets FO: We’ll hire a few more guards so Lin can’t outshine Kemba at point.
Cliff: Batum, you’re not a SF. You’re a point guard!

  • rookie75094

Joe Johnson just shot free throws

  • Dorothy

I dragged my feet to come watching the game and surprisingly found out Lin is already playing. did he start? I would be shocked if he did.

  • TTNN

saw him waiting at the side line

  • rookie75094

I wonder how long the lag is…10 mins?

  • adele

He is still sitting at the bench

  • Alain Gervais

Like i said Lee is PJ improved. As a matter a fact thats my new name for him

  • LinMad

i swear someone said Lin is in but I don’t see it yet so the feed is either really delayed or the person thought Lee was Lin

  • rookie75094

That is what I see ontvalso

  • Rick Johnson

Maybe confusing him with Lee number 1

  • Dorothy

    Did Lin start today?

  • rookie75094

    No

  • Courtney Lee looked a bit lost out there

  • TTNN

So other than that shot, did Lee got to touch the ball yet?

  • Alain Gervais

    no

  • Rick Johnson

    No Lee

  • cshot

ok hows j doing? just started tuning in

  • Alain Gervais

    Nope

  • Alain Gervais

    Didn’t play yet

  • Dorothy

    then he came in early?

  • Sophie Paris

He didn’t start and still waiting he enters the game ^^

  • TTNN

he don’t get the ball even

  • cshot

lol ok so i missed nothing

  • Joe what do you know

“I’m never gonna pass again, guilty hands have got no rhythm…. Though it’s easy to pretend, I know I ain’t no PG…”

  • now he knows how Lin feels LOL

  • LinMad

How are we trailing vs Nets? a 15-40 team.

  • heart

Was listed in game notes reported by Bonnell, but in press interview Cliff said Lee. So upsetting. Scroll down and read the posts later of what has transpired.

  • TTNN

that’s why PJ shots everything he touches. LOL

  • adele

    He is getting in

  • LinMad

    Marvin bailed Batum out

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin in

  • Alain Gervais

    yep

  • rookie75094

    Lin in

  • egh, i used to really like espn’s boxscore and play-by-play, much more than nba.com. but now espn’s is horrible and so i have to use nba.com.

    1st world problems.

  • everyone’s a playmaker/shotmaker thing =)

  • LinMad

Lin has a lot of fans lol i hear the cheers

  • Rick Johnson

Big round of cheers with Lin

  • Alain Gervais

    some boos

  • LinMad

Now Kemba will score cause Lin is in to create space

  • TTNN

    did Lin got an cheer?

  • Lin in for Lee with 4:58 left in Q1

  • Alain Gervais

    yep

  • Alain Gervais

    Lead with Lin in

  • LinMad

Nets FO needs to consider Lin for next season

  • Dorothy

Ok, so Lee looks like Lin the hair and #1 jersey?

  • Alain Gervais

    2 ft

  • blubell

    made both FT πŸ™‚

  • kauaiblue

    πŸ™‚

  • rookie75094

    Kw is chucking

  • Alain Gervais

They leaving him wide open at the three

  • LinMad

    KW just playing 1vs5 ball

  • your son’s voltaire

sigh, he’s still in with the 2nd unit and has been launching everything he touches

  • Sophie Paris

    Good start

  • yup… can be easily mistaken

  • adele

    Yes

  • kauaiblue

walker is a liability out there…

  • blubell

    good D

  • Alain Gervais

    Lamb a big liability

  • When Big Al jumpers are falling, it helps to give space for the Hornets perimeter shooters

  • kauaiblue

MDA and JLin in brooklyn would be so awesome… i would actually spend my meager life savings to buy season tix… lol

  • sws94

    Sit Kemba.

  • LinMad

With all these shooters Lin barely gets to shoot. He’s buried right now.

  • kauaiblue

    JLin assist?

  • LinMad

    me too

  • your son’s voltaire

kemba and al is double trouble

  • sws94

I like his offensive game, prefer it to Dwight’s. Dwight does better on the defensive end but Jefferson’s post game is far superior. If Jefferson is used strategically, he helps. He just has really bad defense.

  • TTNN

pretty much everyone other than Kemba and Batum were burried

  • rookie75094

    I will still get lp…hehe

  • grover chang

Would it kill the hornets to let Lin play point for a while? The answer is NO. so weird the backup pg doesn’t play pg.

  • yes, Al is a bit slow on defense

  • LinMad

ya same, I don’t live in Brooklyn and I hate flying.

  • LinMad

I think it’s Cliff. I really don’t think it’s Hornets FO. If MJ had it his way, he would let Lin play point.

  • rookie75094

    Kaminsky gotposterized by young

  • ViNuyork

    me too…no more wasting my $ w/ d knicks πŸ™‚

  • LinMad

    I don’t like Kaminisky as a big.

  • No interior defense by the Hornets

  • LinMad

Kaminsky did do a good job there.

  • kauaiblue

the barclays center is better than msg… less people… newer… easier to get in and out…

  • LinMad

Lin is no longer 6th man.

  • your son’s voltaire

slow weak side help from Al allowed Young to do that reverse dunk on Tank

  • rookie75094

Jlin should just stay behind in Brooklyn and Larkin can leave with the hornets

  • kauaiblue

JLin leads the team to victory against the best team in the east… exiting, fun, and totally cool… yet, they act as if it never happened… they go back to boring walker play… smh

  • LinMad

and he gets buried by a bunch of guys.

  • David Kim

    πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  • Last 2 offensive possessions, there were no passing. Just Lamb and Kemba shooting 3
Lamb missed and Kemba made it.

This is not good for teamball

  • KWC

    Not the first time

  • kauaiblue

when were 85, i would sit in my rocking chair and say that was awesome…

  • rookie75094

    Yes…Jlin gets to play pg

  • Big Al was very slow

  • LinMad

    Kemba out, Batum back in…

  • grover chang

Ditto. Hornets playing good game. Lin doing what he was told to do. Playing hard. Hornets are winning. But Zzzzzzzzz. When Lin is in new York I want the excitement. The linsanity.

  • your son’s voltaire

Batum is back in to chaperon

  • heart

Watch KW… That’s how you set up AJ for easy basket, instead of making him post up!

  • Dorothy

    222222222222

  • 808JL7

    Assist by Lin to Al.

  • sws94

Take Kemba out, things open up. Lin and Jefferson can work!

  • Alain Gervais

Ofcourse its this unit that takes the lead what a surprise

  • rookie75094

9-0 run by Jlin and the hornets…hehe

  • LinMad

This unit looks much better when Kemba is out. The pace, the sharing of the ball, everything. Crowd just went alive and we aren’t even playing at home.

  • your son’s voltaire

excellent help defense by Lin and then ran ahead of everyone for the sweet pass by Batum

  • blubell

    2222222222222222

  • pandaboy99

al jefferson and lin is some crazy talent off the bench

  • kauaiblue

walker just plays by himself against the nets…

  • aras

looking much better right now. Lin just runs a unit better

  • cshot

cmon al!i like this!!! he’s actually rolling hard!r

  • kauaiblue

    where are you adele?

  • That’s a beautiful fastbreak + teamwork!!!!

  • heart

Did Lin get a foul call on that layup? It seems like his hand got hit.

  • pandaboy99

i mean lin and al as starters would be a core of a playoff team and they are coming off the bench!

  • Weifang

this is the 5 minutes excitement I have been waiting for. not a good ROI

  • rookie75094

You expect too much from the refs…hehe

  • cshot

probably was a foul, but its lin. he’s not gonna get those calls

  • blubell
  • rookie75094

    Larkin air ball…lol

  • blubell
  • LinMad

lol airball from a wide open 3…

  • kauaiblue

why do they keep going to jefferson?

  • LinMad

ok too much alfense, need to get others involved. I think the D caught on.

  • your son’s voltaire

    Big Al has gotten BIGGER

  • Dorothy

    333333333

  • aras

    lamb

  • Alain Gervais

Lamb is so bad at defense

  • Dorothy

    2222222222222

  • Dorothy

    ok lol

  • rookie75094

    Yes bf1 is rolling

  • Dorothy

    222222222222222

  • blubell

    nice drive

  • adele

    Wow! Fast break

  • LinMad

    Nice one Lamb

  • sws94

Lin’s back. Beautiful drive and finish there.

  • Alain Gervais

That was like a weird close floater

  • BKN announcers praising Lin’s ability to get to the rim

  • LinMad

    wow Lin’s fast break

  • blubell

    22222222222222

  • aras

    Lin rollin

  • 808JL7

    Beautiful layup by JLin.

  • wow… Lin got his magic when he’s close to the rim

  • cshot

    leggo

  • rookie75094

    Nets fo takes note…lol

  • LinMad

Why can’t Lin play like this when Kemba on the floor? Kemba needs to start passing to Lin more.

  • kauaiblue

    awesome! nice break baby!!

  • Alain Gervais

Lamb cause that foul on cody

  • LinMad

Jay Z somewhere taking notes on Lin

  • That’s all #Linstinct Lefty Layup by Lin

  • zxcvb

Lin has his rhythm going. Expect Clifford to lower his minutes if possible.

  • rookie75094

To when lamb try to playpg…smh

  • pandaboy99

good for lin not shooting outside jumpshots lol

  • heart

NOTE: Please,JAD or someone needs to note that Lin’s non-foul call.

  • LinMad

give the ball to Lin. Not Lamb

  • zxcvb

    “No.” -Kemba & Cliff

  • heart

Who’s that referee that kept calling foul on Zeller? Note this…

  • LinMad

    Alfense again?

  • Alain Gervais

Lin getting pay back for that block

  • zxcvb

Better than the bucket is to get Lopez in foul trouble.

  • aras

he is being aggresive good sign

  • ViNuyork

yep, parking more expensive tho…we r used to MSG parking…but if JLIN would be there next season, we will surely be there…feel bad we have to miss this exciting game today…should have been in barclay too

  • LinMad

that block wasn’t that impressive, Lin was driving through 3 guys

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin/Lee is what I wanted to see. sweet

  • 808JL7

    2FT JLin

  • Dorothy

My goodness Lin and Lee look so alike from far…

  • Alain Gervais

That means Lin will eventually come out for kemba

  • Sophie Paris

Lin having a good game ^^

  • LinMad

    Lopez getting physical on Lin

  • rookie75094

    Lopez bad actor…lol

  • LAJane

Seems like that past period of free throw woes are far in the rear view mirror πŸ™‚

  • kauaiblue

10 pts… nice… see clifford, this is what you get when you have JLin controlling the ball…

  • your son’s voltaire

    true, unfortunately

  • Brook be like, “Lin’s face fouled my fingers” lol

  • pandaboy99

lins ft looks so smooth.. hopefully itll translate to his shot

  • cshot

why can’t lin do this when kembas in?answer: he gets the opportunity to create and make plays

  • LinMad

It all started in the 2nd qtr when Kemba sat. And that’s when we took the lead by a lot.

  • heart

Lin is about to have higher scores than KW w/ the next 2FTs hopefully. Now watch to see if KW try to outscore Lin.

  • TTNN

Bench is out score starters now

  • zxcvb

Lin getting Lopez in foul trouble — Linsane IQ. Kemba and Cliff don’t even understand things like this.

  • LinMad

    Cliff will bench Lin asap.

  • Alain Gervais

I don’t think he will get Ft

  • aras

off topic. What is the song Quan about? just heard it during the break and i think my ears started to bleed.

  • Rick Johnson

Team runs so much better with Lin at PG. Total control of the game.

  • LinMad

everyone involved and want to make “that” play

  • zxcvb

He’ll definitely try. If they can win without Lin scoring too much, that’s the ideal result.

  • TTNN

Lin is so fast this game

  • LinMad

Lee and Lin together for the first time

  • 808JL7

Of course can’t have his guy KW be outside by Lin.

  • LinMad

This could be the best defensive unit they got right now. Lin and Lee.

  • LAJane

Understanding is one thing. Politics is another.
Edit: Rats..J already subbed by Walker. Politics wins again

  • When you give @JLin7 the ball, magical things happen

    10pts/1ast/2reb in 11 min

    Highest +15

  • kauaiblue

boring walker is in… going to get something to eat…

  • LinMad

    Lin took a charge . Good D

  • sws94

    Nice stint by Lin.

  • kauaiblue

    go nets now…

  • your son’s voltaire

more importantly, a 13 points lead

  • rookie75094

Jlin play awsome defense. ..reward…go to the bench…lol

  • cshot

annnnnd bench after getting a charge

  • YearoftheMonkey

Clifford is too rotation based.. He won’t ride the hot player like some other coaches

  • sws94

    Why?

  • Ben Johnson

Jeremy looking great today, without doubt one of the best defensive PGs in the league

  • zxcvb

He will…unless that player is Lin.

  • your son’s voltaire

lol. i’m suddenly a nets fan this very minute

  • TTNN

wow, 13 pt lead, nice BF1

  • LinMad

Lin rewarded with a bench after taking a charge. Ehhhhh if that was Batum or Kemba, they would stay the rest of the qtr.

  • sws94

He does it to other players as well, not only Lin.

  • zxcvb

And get 3-4 plays run for them in a row.

  • YearoftheMonkey

    No he doesn’t

  • kauaiblue

weve explained many times to you before… whats it to you?

  • zxcvb

    Yes he does. Definitely.

  • LinMad

Kemba comes in, batum gets a tech

  • Ben Johnson

+23 in his past 6 quarters, if that means anything

  • your son’s voltaire

it’s cool. don’t worry bout it

  • David Kim

Lin +15 highest in both teams

  • blubell
  • YearoftheMonkey

Look at what Atlantas coach did last night.. He benched Jeff Teague and only played him 18 minutes last night.. Most the PG minutes went to Dennis who played 38 minutes and put up 21 and 10. That’s a coach who isn’t afraid to mix things up

  • blubell
  • cshot

a technical f for tossing the ball in the air? lol the nba is becoming a league full of whimps

  • Hopefully Sean Marks will make a note for his off-season move as a GM

  • blubell
  • Alain Gervais

Lee is just not good when he drives. He can only shoot three. Given Kemba cant get him those shots. He is useless offensively.

  • zxcvb

Even without MDA, Lin should look at Brooklyn. They have no draft picks or good trade assets, and Sean Marks is a Spurs guy. If they call out of “desperation,” he’ll listen.

  • Ben Johnson

Can someone reply to this tweet and tell this guy to F off?

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • your son’s voltaire

Lin/Lee definitely works defensively and has potential to be very dynamic on offense, too

  • sws94

Fine, I disagree and think it’s wrong to root against the team Lin is playing so hard for right now to win. That’s not the spirit of team play that Lin stands for.

  • heart

Yes, then Cliff sent him to the bench. So whatever, don’t like AtTheHive…

  • zxcvb

Go Ido! Hornets fans and media think those fouls came out of nowhere. They don’t see the game beyond the boxscore.

  • heart

He does ride the “hot” hands, but not w/ Lin… It’s not a guarantee.

  • blubell
  • your son’s voltaire

this is why scoring is so important.. it’s difficult for coaches to pull you out of the game if you’re scoring πŸ˜€

  • adele

    Lin talking to Lee

  • David Kim

short meeting with Sean after game? lol

  • LAJane

I know. still…these positive tweets are light years better than the evil under-bussing that used to come from Houston and LA. Every good bit counts πŸ™‚

  • Yascar

I get what you’re saying but they also tried to trade Teague. He might be trying see what the team will be like without him.

  • your son’s voltaire

they’re probably working out the details of their new secret handshake πŸ™‚

  • Alain Gervais

    dam

  • adele

    Lin back in the game

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin in

  • kauaiblue

walker comes in and lead evaporating…

  • I am The Jason

We all know Lin is auditioning for the Nets. πŸ™‚

  • Ben Johnson

seriously, sounds patronizing…what’s next, calling JLin a “solid backup”?

  • LinMad

    wow our lead is gone

  • pandaboy99

all lin needs to do is have good games against teams that may draft him

  • LAJane

    Walker’s usual contribution…

  • LinMad

    why batum…..whyyyyyy

  • LinMad

    like the Nets?

  • I am The Jason

Coach Bud has being doing this all season. He goes with who has the hot hand or who is producing on the court.

  • Alain Gervais

    Momentum is gone

  • YearoftheMonkey

    Draft? You mean sign

  • rookie75094

    Jump ball Jlin and young

  • your son’s voltaire

kemba with the bad hand off to batum and just stands there not running back. but batum is also guilty of lazily going for the handoff

  • David Kim

Ellington ! Can I sleep on your couch today? I have a lunch with Sean Mark tomorrow.

    -Lin

  • LinMad

    Jump ball > turnover

  • 808JL7

    Batum can’t play pg.

  • kauaiblue

    batum and walker so bad…

  • Dorothy

Is Sean Mark at the game already?

  • Alain Gervais

We had a 15 point game

  • LinMad

Lin won the jumpball lol even though he didn’t touch the ball.

  • Alain Gervais

Bench couldn’t give them a easier game

  • blubell
  • I am The Jason

    With the left hand

  • rookie75094

    The starter squander the lead

  • magical Lin πŸ™‚

  • aras

wow i mean wow what the h*** happened

  • Rick Johnson

Hornets sure played better with Lin at Pg.

  • rookie75094

    Nb clutch3

  • Rick Johnson

    Took Lin out

  • Alain Gervais

    That play call was beautiful

  • Ben Johnson

Batum should stick to catch and shoot

  • adele

    True

  • Beautiful shot by Batum

  • LinMad

that’s what I said like 20 games ago.

  • blubell

This is what happens when you bench Jeremy for heroball.
    https://twitter.com/At_The_Hive/status/701558586502160384

  • heart

    You’re right. Just venting…

  • Alain Gervais

I am officially not worried Lee will take Lins minutes. He is PjImproved

  • He’s a great SF.
Not sure who wants to convert him to SG in the Hornets FO

  • cshot

hahahahaha these nets announcers and their sense of humor! “the nets just got french fried”

  • yes, Lee should have better shot selection than PJ

  • blubell
  • Alain Gervais

    a lot better

  • sws94

I never was. And Lin has 10 points, made some assists, showed some chemistry with big Al, played great D, and whoever is here from the site got to see Lin do well.

  • Ben Johnson

yup, top 5 SF, not even a top 20 SG

  • LinMad

ya Lee is replacing MKG. Lin will still get his opportunities but I noticed he is playing with Kemba more now which is kind of bad cause he doesn’t really do anything when Kemba is on the floor. He’s mostly for defense when Kemba is there.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • TTNN

    LOL

  • LinMad

If starters don’t keep it close or bring the lead up, 3rd quarter might kill us. I hope Cliff brings in Lin earlier than he usually does.

  • kauaiblue

they would be dangerous, especially with jlin as pg…

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • james brown

he’s ok playing, doesn’t get too much excited to show off. Maybe/maybe not because he’s new, but lets see his development with the team in a few more games. right now he’s been affected by KW ball hogging with the starters. Jlin playing PG duties gets hornets some needed space and good margin with the second unit.

  • blueCypher

Lin’s role is so inconsistent with this team

  • ViNuyork

how’s d parking in barclay center..better than MSG?

  • blubell
  • kauaiblue

oh man, that would be awesome…

  • james brown

    few were watching the game!!!LOL!

  • heart

Exactly! Cliff took Lin out and Nets made a run. Cliff had to bring Lin back immediately… So predictable…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Pretty empty stadium!!!!!

  • kauaiblue

that would be good, but we are dreaming… lol

  • blubell

    I think this is pregame

  • Yascar

    Fair comment then.

  • kauaiblue

NY #17 still my favorite! why so empty?

  • blubell
  • Nice!
    @SSimineri
Jeremy Lin getting ready for this early Sunday game in Brooklyn. Perhaps he’s the point guard for Bklyn next year.

  • blubell
  • your son’s voltaire

Sean Mark: i don’t see anybody here but Lin fans.. hmm

  • Ben Johnson

either Philly or Brooklyn would be a godsend at this point

  • LinMad

I heard the loud cheers when Lin came in. This is why Nets should really consider bringing in Lin to revive their franchise. And make him starting PG.

  • blubell
  • the angle of the pics made it look like JLin had a jumpshot wearing dress shoes =)

  • LinMad

cause Nets…they are horrible this season and they don’t have any star players.

  • Ben Johnson

If every JLin fan in the World chipped in 100 bucks, would that be enough to buy a controlling interest in an NBA team? πŸ˜€

  • Rick Johnson

Then the starters came in an let Brooklyn cut the lead.

  • LAJane

    Totally understand πŸ™‚

  • LinMad

    Of course it would

  • LAJane

    Start organizing! πŸ˜€

  • Ben Johnson

Somebody start a kickstarter campaign πŸ˜€

  • I’ll open a Paypal account on Monday then LOL

  • kauaiblue

    whats going on, adele?

  • LAJane

    Gorgeous is the right word!

  • LinMad

Being that empty, they should just upgrade everyones seat so they can watch up close.

  • cshot

jeremy clearly shoots the best on the right hand wing.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Go ahead and I will definitely join in this campaign to get JLin a team that he will have more fun than ever:-)

  • james brown

the 3rd foul of Lopez was sweet..Jlin gets the 2 out of this 3!

  • LAJane

    great eyes…hahahaha

  • Ben Johnson

if all JLin did all game was run high PnRs and run in transition, I’m convinced he’d take almost any collection of players to the playoffs

  • cshot

damn nets girl announcer/reporter sounds like a man

  • Weifang

I think it’s Lin’s strategy to always try to get bigs into foul trouble

  • your son’s voltaire

    suddenly a nets fan again

  • yeah, how about $1M fundraising to start to get people commitment in 1 year πŸ™‚

  • LAJane

    … wow, empty.

  • Alain Gervais

How is the starting unit worse on defense then when Pj was there

  • kauaiblue

    boring

  • cshot

Lee is pretty good at passing. he seems like a team player

  • rookie75094

I just saw rose and her 2 kids walk across the screen…I think

  • kauaiblue

    any jlin jerseys?

  • heart

Lee’s standing form looks similar to Lin, his number’s shape also. One can mistook Lee for Lin from afar or vice versa.

  • rookie75094

    Not sure..but I think yes

  • james brown

i was the first time i saw him on the court, i thought..JLIN was starting???…LOL!

  • LinMad

    KW is playing frustrated

  • Ben Johnson

not used to play so much team ball

  • kauaiblue

    nets getting sloppy

  • TTNN

Batum give up 2 back door already

  • perhaps the Hornets wants the fans to be comforted with a Lin look-alike if he decides to leave next season πŸ™‚

  • LinMad

this game shouldn’t be so close. I mean its the Nets…

  • Dorothy

    same here lol

  • I can’t help looking at Lee wondering when he’s going to get the ball :]

  • james brown

    πŸ˜›

  • james brown

    he’s getting his points anyway.

  • Rick Johnson

Hair kind of sticks up too like Lin. Lin needs to go back to the Mohawk.

  • Ben Johnson

Batum has been atrocious on D

  • LinMad

    interior D is no where

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Didn’t know Ellington is with Nets. Surprise when I heard his name:-)

  • JJ Hui

The Nets commentators are so fair and credit everyone who played well on either team!
    That is healthy reporting!

  • so far he’s making the right passes to play teamball and feed Kemba/Batum
But he doesn’t get the ball back as much

  • blubell
  • sport

Looks like his stats are suffering the same way Lin was with the 3 selfish ball hogs.

  • Lin is ready to check in?

  • LinMad

Lin fans stretching and yawning at the stadium lol

  • Ben Johnson

    11 shots, 1 assist…Kimba is a SG, a good undersized SG

  • cshot

once again, lin has to play sg lol

  • He’s a good mini-Harden

  • kauaiblue

    boring walker chucking… again

  • Sundown

    He’s hitting those.

  • kauaiblue

boring… he does this even when hes not hot

  • your son’s voltaire

might as well play SG on the starting unit. all the excuses out the window

  • LinMad

wow someone smaller than Kemba lol

  • sport

Walker, iso or pass to black hole Al for his slow post moves that ends up in misses. Really hate those slow traditional post moves, no different from guards going iso every time. That style of game has no business in modern basketball!

  • yellowshadow

my boy lin kinda killing it again! thank you lord! kemba en route to 40 min game -_-

  • LinMad

ya it doesn’t look like Lin gets to lead the 2nd bench. More like he is allowed to lead it only when Kemba sits. And Kemba plays with 2nd unit a lot now.

  • Kemba has a tunnel vision now..
That possession, no pass, he just chucked it *sigh*

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba ball is so ugly

  • LinMad

    Al bailed KW

  • kauaiblue

    reba?

  • sws94

Ugly offense on the last possessions with Kemba chucking and Lamb fumbling the ball and trying to do too much. Time to take Kemba out even though he’s scoring.

  • Alain Gervais

Kemba can score a lot and have a terrible game. Today is one of those days. Plus 2 in plus/minus

  • LinMad

    is it Lin’s quarter now??

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba

  • kauaiblue

    boring

  • Ben Johnson

really, who the F would wanna play with Kimba as your PG…he gets you no good looks when he does decide to actually pass you the ball and you always need to cover for him on D

  • sport

another buzzer beater against Hornets, who was defending again?

  • Howan Cheung

    hopefully, i just dozed off

  • David Kim

    May be..

  • 808JL7

    No D by KW.

  • Alain Gervais

I would rather Harden over Kemba anyway as a player. Not as a teammate

  • heart

It’s fools gold w/ KW. He has one assist for 27 min and counting… Shoot and shoot for himself….while in the lead…Leaving teammates cold… This is when you want to involve teammates for heaven sake’s

  • he needs to learn to keep getting his teammates involved even when he makes some shots *sigh*
That’s what killing the offensive flow in the long-term

  • kauaiblue

oh, ok… it’s so boring… man, he is the most uncharismatic dude…

  • sport

This Kemba iso and shot chucking is just hard to watch!! Mean while Lin’s always iced out when Kemba’s on the floor!!

  • Alain Gervais

Its brooklyn so the lead will stay. Against better teams we will lose

  • LinMad

Lin just hands KW the ball on a silver platter. This is all coaching for politics.

  • cshot

frustrating how lin always gets iced out and not involved

  • Ben Johnson

hornets are gonna find out too late that this guy should have been played as a sixth man, and that a real PG should be leading their team

  • blueCypher

Sigh, looks like another jersey for Lin next year

  • aras

4 more points lin come on be aggresive with the ball last quarter.

  • sport

Both are horrible! Except Harden’s game is even more boring with FTs over and over again!

  • BobbyH

AS long as you take Walkers out, it is not small.

  • cshot

its almost like he’s not allowed to outscore kemba

  • I like Batum/Lin backcourt than any Kemba/PlayerX backcourt

  • LinMad

    10 more

  • David Kim

He will never be the PG in championship team unless he improves his passing skill and court vision.

  • LinMad

ugh why is Lamb getting the ball before Lin?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Why Kemba is still in the court????

  • james brown

    KW still playing?

  • Alain Gervais

    No threes recently

  • Great drive by Lin, just rimmed out.. a bit too strong

  • zxcvb

Kemba still in there to statpad and keep Lin’s touches low. Kemba’s +/- is awful compared to Batum and Lin.

Lin going cold with Kemba’s hogging.

  • aras

Lin should have gotten that layup damn!

  • JJ Hui

I just dont like to see KW and Lin on the same court but Clifford always couldn’t separate them for some reason!

  • zxcvb

So done with this loser team. Just counting down the days.

  • zxcvb

It helps Kemba’s stats while hurting Lin’s. Numbers show this.

  • blubell

    Good D

  • Great D by Lin on Bogdanovic, making him miss

  • blubell

Kemba still in to stat pad?

  • Barry Allen

doesn’t want Lin to shine over Kemba. It’s pretty obvious now. he just wants him to play defense, hardly handle the ball and have artifially inflate Kemba’s numbers.

  • Clifford likes to ride Kemba like a Secretariat

  • Alain Gervais

    Lamb is so bad.

  • kauaiblue

    hes so boring…

  • zxcvb

Notice how Lin and Lamb went cold as Kemba got “hot.” And the game is close now.

    Kemba is a real Kancer.

  • sport

With this obvious stat pad of KW, Batum would be dumb if he signs with Hornets. He is definitely not the main featured guy!

  • zxcvb

Great ball movement by Lin. Kemba has never seen anything like that.

  • LinMad

that’s how u move the ball.

  • John Focker

Yes, but his agency is GOOD. Performance doesn’t matter if your mafia-like agency has the team by the balls.

  • heart

It’s for KW’s stats! Gives KW’s spacing to score. He only looks to score for himself. Others look to assist him too even, instead the other way around… It’s ridiculous that KW is a PG…

  • cshot

why the h***… like i don’t understand. kemba is ALWAYS in.

  • John Focker

The real cancer for CHA is Excel Sports Management, much like CAA on the league.

  • LinMad

what is he trying to prove to Lin fans? That he doesn’t want to see Lin outshine him?

  • your son’s voltaire

stat padding against bad teams is the plan

  • All-Star 2017 campaign πŸ™‚

  • sport

Lamb is a great catch and shoot SG but with a ball hog PG like Kemba his stats will suffer. Match Lamb with Lin and they’d be similar to Curry and Thompson but too bad Hornets are too worried about politics to start the right players.

  • heart

Isn’t this like Rox in prior season? It’s ashamed…

  • blubell

    Walker out. Batum in.

  • cshot

give lin these minutes. see what happens. ppl quick to say kembas the man and the guy when lin doesn’t get touches or consistent min

  • cshot

    thank freaking god

  • your son’s voltaire

keeping the ball out of Lin’s hands is the plan

  • hallelujah.. maybe we get to watch some teamball now

  • John Focker

    It’s his knees, let’s keep on watching…

  • zxcvb

If Lin goes to Brooklyn and plays PG, he’s going to start in the All-Star game…in Charlotte. And Kemba won’t even make reserves. He didn’t even make it this year after 3 injuries and endless statpadding.

  • zxcvb

“Lin iced! YES!” – Kemba and Cliff

  • zxcvb

When Lin was hot, he was benched ASAP. Kemba “hot,” plays 20 straight minutes.

  • blubell

    Nets double teaming Jeremy.

  • Alain Gervais

yep but open shot just missing

  • LinMad

When Kemba stays in too long and everyone gets iced.

  • aras

COME ON LIN 2 more points get your Averages!

  • zxcvb

Kemba shooting and scoring was great for them. No ball movement.

  • Alain Gervais

Wow nets fully double teaming lin at all cost

  • JJ Hui

That is why i dont like cliff!

  • aras

    and he missed a ft…sigh

  • LinMad

    They are on Lin.

  • LAJane

Kemba will always be in unless they think they have a very comfortable lead. He is the “franchise” guy and will always get the stat-pad free reign.

  • John Focker

At least it helps Lin shake off the bad D propaganda Morey started. Gotta think positive.

  • blubell

Nets know who the real threat is πŸ™‚

  • Alain Gervais

Lin got caught in the cut back

  • YearoftheMonkey

    Lin about to get benched

  • your son’s voltaire

they’re trying to kep Lin from penetrating by doubling him early

  • kauaiblue

wakler killed the flow of the game… no one has any rhythm…

  • YearoftheMonkey

One mistake from Lin and he goes to the bench

  • zxcvb

Yup. 100%. Kemba is such a cancer.

  • cshot

    bye lin

  • kauaiblue

go ahead clifford, replace jlin with walker… and see what happens…

  • heart

That’s what I said earlier. KW froze everyone’s rhythm while getting his own stats and while the lead was up. Now Nets adjusted and everyone has to readjust to get back into rhythm.

  • sws94

5/6, can’t get on him about that. He got to the line for 6 shots which is fine.

  • LAJane

Good to know. Can only follow the play-by-play, so this double-team comment helps explain why I’m not seeing more scoring. Didn’t take the Nets long to figure out who to pay attention to!

  • LinMad

Who’s idea is it to let Kemba dominate the game for 32 minutes out of the 48? And then cross fingers and hope the other players who got the 15 pt lead early on will bring it on?

  • aras

Lin should have 14 points right now.

  • BobbyH

I guess Hornets is pushing for ASG 2017, starting the first game after ASG 2016.

  • blubell

Walker coming back. Jeremy still in.

  • zxcvb

Lin gave Hornets an easy win in the first half.

Kemba ruins it for everyone but himself in the second half.

  • zxcvb

He should have 20/10 if he played PG.

  • YearoftheMonkey

Clifford doesn’t want Lin handling the ball

  • LinMad

Cliff don’t trust Lin at PG lol even though he had that 15 pt lead early game. Then iced for a whole quarter.

  • Rick Johnson

They’re doubling Lin early. He’s got to learn to take it find open man

  • blubell

    Defense.

  • LinMad

lol even if we win, i consider this a loss. Game shouldn’t even be this close against Nets

  • LAJane

Hah. It’s precisely because he trusts him that he doesn’t play him at PG. He knows he’ll make Kemba look awful. That cannot happen.

  • zxcvb

Not trading Kemba at max value will haunt the Hornets forever.

Oh boy, what a horrendous, selfish oaf.

  • heart

Nets double team Lin but not KW. Nets also allowed KW to shoot. That’s Nets strategy.

  • Briiick

    Exactly.

  • zxcvb

The better Kemba does, the worse Charlotte does.

SHARE THE BALL. Hornets play the ugliest basketball in the league.

  • LinMad

The Kemba effect, no one involved everyone iced out. The Lin effect, everyone involved.

  • LAJane

The guy who drafted him and gave him a big shoe contract

  • zxcvb

When Lin is in control, everyone looks good. Kemba only cares about his own stats, win or lose.

  • rookie75094

    Kw chucking mode

  • Ben Johnson

    amazing defense

  • LinMad

    Lin is everywhere

  • cshot

    pass the rock

  • rookie75094

Thanks to kw it’s a close game

  • Alain Gervais

When did Lin get 1 block??

  • sport

    JLin playing football out there!

  • LinMad

KW shooting for 2017, 2018 and 2019 ASG

  • zxcvb

I can’t watch this trash ball. See ya guys later.

  • cshot

    right before halftime buzzer.

  • Great Lin defense to cover Brown’s drive without fouling causing him to miss

  • blubell
  • Alain Gervais

    ooohhh yea thx

  • kauaiblue

    hes is a ballhog man… boring…

  • LAJane

That’s been the strategy of every team with a brain

  • LinMad

Kemba was gonna shoot it again…

  • kauaiblue

he deservedly didn’t get the nod this year…

  • aras

Seriously now 2 more points please this is annoying

  • sport

Can tell Lin’s like whatever, let Kemba chuck his shots I’ll play tough defense if I can’t play offense.

  • kauaiblue

it’s beautiful to watch jlin orchestrate o and d.

  • kauaiblue

No, you put in JLIn to control the game.

  • LinMad

lol at some Hornets fans saying Lin made a dumb foul. That was actually a good foul, he was about to steal the ball from Lopez. And Lopez didnt get the free throws either.

  • LAJane

Have to keep Walker in to keep him polished up and shiny, and have to keep Jeremy in in hopes of winning.

  • LinMad

happens when Kemba is on the floor with Lin.

  • heart

    You’re funny. Hope so too.

  • LinMad

I think Kemba just earned a few hundred haters today.

  • John Focker

They know who’s the real threat.

  • yellowshadow

    inferiority complex!

  • your son’s voltaire

those are kemba fans not hornets fans

  • hope they can see the great steal & D on Brown

  • LAJane

    all of the above πŸ™‚

  • Ben Johnson

JLin stealing Sloan’s lunch money today

  • No Loan for Sloan

  • Ben Johnson

    rebound and assist?

  • sws94

assist for sure. Rebound should be also.

  • Beautifull assist by Lin to Kemba 3

  • kauaiblue

Excellent game from JLin with what he was given as pt… walker is a total ballhog… i dislike him even more after today…

  • Alain Gervais

Lins Shot still not falling but contributing beautifully in other ways

  • BKN Announcer: “The Hornets will rock the baby to sleep now with 1:21 to go”

  • sws94

Lin’s D is established now. If not for anything else in Charlotte he’s finally having a coach put him out there for defense. And people are noticing.

  • cshot

lin freaking scrappy out there! does the dirty work haha

  • LinMad

like last game. Except he scored more this game. Hasn’t made a FG in 2nd half but its been mostly Kemball.

  • sport

Lin not getting many touches yet he needs shots to get used to his new form!

  • aras

Alright is this how it is Lins not getting his 2 points? getting pissed

  • LAJane

Yes, yes, and yes. big silver lining. This is one of the ugly lies McHale and Scott kept peddling that really, really infuriated me. Glad they’re going, going , gone. – the lies, and the coaches too πŸ™‚

  • kauaiblue

had a good game though… nets reall stink… walker’s bad play kept them in the game… really…

  • Alain Gervais

Lin 3-10. Gotta get his shot going

  • blubell

    11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 30 minutes,

  • Alain Gervais

    3-10 only issue

  • Lin is almost a Bruce Bowen in Hornets now.
He’ll be in demand more in the off-season

  • heart

Have to see replay. He got fouled at least 2 times at the rim but didn’t get call.

  • aras

he missed evey shot he took in the second half. ridiculous

  • Alain Gervais

Those 3 was layups. His shot isn’t falling. Missed some tough layups as well

  • sws94

1 point in 2nd half. 30 minutes, that’s more like it.

  • LinMad

i was actually more excited with Lin in first half on offense and 2nd half was his defense. 2nd half it was too much Kemba. Lin took shots like they were forced shots in the 2nd half. he looked desperate for a bucket cause he was iced out for so long.

  • Alain Gervais

As long as he got those minutes i believe he will figure it out. Soo….. to the next game

  • aras

missed every shot he took second half dont understand how he missed the easy bunnies lately

  • sport

This mileage will catch up to Kemba just like it did for Batum.

  • Alain Gervais

yup. Brooklyn focusd on him. Made him take harder shots

  • sws94

2 layups were blocked. Missed 2 makeable ones. Only really had 1 jump shot and 2 short-range shots he usually makes as well.

  • LinMad

he shot well but did not play well.

  • heart

Lin is a rhythm shooter. When his shot is off, he still contributed in other aspects of his games, rebounds, defense, etc… Nets focused/ targeted Lin, KW benefited.

  • sws94

He scored well. 18 shots isn’t bad for a PG but it seems he took a lot without looking for his team mates. He also came in and the team lost the lead.

  • james brown

at least he did try to score thru drives but shots not falling as usually does..defense on his drive was there from nets..good game and good PT for his effort.next game pls!

  • kauaiblue

I know… really frustrating, but he couldn’t get into rhythm bc of you know who…

  • Again, not having the ball in his hands is not good for Lin’s shooting rhythm
    Or even layup.

JLin’s such a rhythm player and there’s nothing wrong with that.
His future is brighter with the ball in his hands.

But Lin is a survivor. His D (+1st half offense) helped to win the game today

  • JLin Fan from Australia

You sum it up well. He has never played much of defense. He is only slightly better than JH but almost as bad as JH.

  • Ben Johnson

a +1 against the Nets, yeah, great job, clap clap

  • aras

seriously im pissed….all i wanted was 4 points..4 damn points…he needs the stats

  • LinMad

are u saying Kemba won the game? cause he didn’t. Lin was more impactful than Kemba.

  • DX

Lin will be on bench if shot like 2nd half. Fortunately, Lin still have good D.

  • sport

These games are just ugly to watch and it will be no different during playoffs. Rather Hornets don’t make the playoffs. It’ll be the Kemba iso show.

  • Lefon Jang

Today’s game shows one thing, the corner man never gets the ball whether it’s Lin or Lee. Kemba always stays back to get the ball whereas Lin always leaks out and let someone else handle the ball.

  • Alain Gervais

He has made those shots before. will need to make them on this team.

  • james brown

at least he did try to get points..isn’t it our concern for him..right now it wasn’t falling but when it does…

  • kauaiblue

His selfish play almost lost it for hornets… he was just hot, like any player can do… he does not know how to play pg…he is more of a vinnie johnson microwave type player… not a field general…

  • aras

he scored well and thats about it. He’s not a PG he cant distribute the ball and will probably never get good at it.

  • Ben Johnson

If JLin were playing for the freaking sixers right now under MDA, lets not pretend that they wouldn’t have beaten this team by at least 10 points…probably by around 15-20pts..

  • LinMad

You’re only looking at one side of the court. Lin was +10, played great D 2nd half which allowed Kemba to shoot his lights out. Kemba reminds me of Harden. He can get a triple triple and still lose games.

  • james brown

it does sometimes you know….as the saying goes..”the ball is round”!

  • sport

Kemba plays ball hog just like Harden except with worst shooting. Only thing I’m glad is Kemba doesn’t do his flops to get FTS to bore us to death.

  • james brown

20 points to be exact because he will create space and then protect it till the last seconds…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin made me confused and questioned about his defenses, HOW MANY PLAYERS DOES HE HAVE TO GUARD?

  • sport

I’m sure MDA wants Lin but Sixers are still tanking this season and they will wait until off season to make an offer. Assuming that MDA is still there and has power in who to start and sign.

  • LinMad

Cause we were already up since half time. Kemba is +1. Lin is +10. That’s all I have to say.

If Kemba was so great, with the score he got, he should be +30.

  • kauaiblue

at least 2 bc walker does not play d…

  • sport

All 5 of course, remember Rockets?

  • james brown

hornets don’t pass if KW is on the floor, thats why 4th Q today was surprising when KW still was playing? don’t know any reason for doing so , but to stat pad!

  • he played great … individually
That’s a problem when he’s a PG because it killed the offensive flow.
    28pts/3asts in 39 min

It’s a good team win against the bad Nets team.
It won’t work against playoff teams. That’s the main concern

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Yes it has to be at least.

  • aras

4 points maaaan come ooooooon annoying as h***

  • LinMad

Well when Lin sat in the 2nd, we were up by 15 or something. It doesn’t matter, Lin ended up with +10, Kemba with +1. For someone who scored so much wouldn’t you think he would be +30?

  • kauaiblue

he was the high scorer with 10 at half… then, the usual happened… guess

  • John Focker

Wish the other Hornets players who ran around being ignored by Kemba share your enthusiasm.

People cried “stop hating on Harden” and see what happened now?

  • james brown

its not a question now if he’s good or not…the problem lies on how he makes his teammates be effective when he’s chucking shots after shots..he may get his, but others becomes lost on the rotations and plays..

  • sport

Really hope Lin nails that new shooting form soon cause his shots aren’t falling. His d is beasting more than ever. If MDA reunites with Lin next season it will be more than Linsanity unleashed!

  • Ben Johnson

Did Jeremy get scored on this game once he picked up a player on defense?

  • Ben Johnson

Just hoping now that he gets it ironed out by the time of the playoffs

  • heart

Thank God for the 1st half when Lin got everyone involved and got the Nets played catch up. Then, KW went for his stats and got everyone out of rhythm. Lin then got targeted by Nets, KW benefited from that. Lin’s Defense kept many crucial possessions for Hornets.

  • sport

Same here! Well look on the bright side. With Kemba being the designated ball hog and chucker. Lin doesn’t need to worry about Wins or Losses and can focus on improving his own game and shooting! Lin just needs to tough it out until he reunites with MDA. Right now there should be ZERO doubt after 5 teams that only MDA will use Lin properly!

  • JJ Hui

Yeah he also made his teamates not motivated to try to play well.
I rather 4 players play well than one, 4 can win better than just one, simple math!

  • John Focker

You said it, Hornets were up by 13 when Lin sat, and then Kemba came up and only up 7 at the half.

  • John Focker

Batum +12 and Lin +10. Kemba +1. Scoring means NOTHING if you’re letting the opponents score even more.

  • kauaiblue

he ball hogs too… no one gets the oppt bc he shoots so much… no one can get in rhthym… got lucky…

  • sws94

Lin interview on the court now on post-game show.

  • james brown

having the ball in his hands all the time and shooting almost all of the possession gave you the impression that his doing gives more impact to the game..lead dwindled and nets coming back , defense was the key for the win because if you stop them from getting points and you yourself inconsistent, with a lead, you will win, but exchanging basket just like the first quarter will give you nowhere.

  • Ben Johnson

Comparing an under double digit win against one of the worst teams in the league to a huge win over one of the best teams in NBA history is a serious stretch dude

  • kauaiblue

    really? wonder why him…

  • LinMad

Just cause the outcome was good doesn’t mean it’s okay.

  • sport

Lillard is another ball hog and the reason why Portland will never get any where! Aldridge is lucky to leave and sign with Spurs!

  • kauaiblue

    precisely

  • John Focker

I guess he’s never heard of the Spurs, or teamball. He’d probably enjoy Harden-style ball too, since personal scoring seems to be the only column he understands.

  • Arsenium12 .

    Brief highlights ….
    __________

  • takemeback2reaganyears

The dead clock is still twice a day with correct time. Lillard and Kemba will still have great games in 82 game long season.

  • LinMad

If that’s the case, wait til next season when players leave like Jeremy Lin. Stepping on people’s necks to get your score is not going to work unless someone is doing the dirty work. Lin did the dirty work today and that’s why we won.

  • james brown

who gave them the lead..the bench….come 3rd Q they lost the lead and regained the lead, but start the 3rd they are leading the nets because of the 2nd quarter points!

  • YearoftheMonkey

That’s not the point.. The point is Damian Lillard had to score 51 pts for them to win and Dame is a legit star

  • Ben Johnson

well, he did play like a DPOY candidate this game

  • sws94

Lin said they didn’t hit shots and turned the ball over, they had to clamp down on defense. Now he’s being asked about Kemba and Lin says he has that energy to win and he came up big for the team. Asked about being back in NY, he’s thankfully, thanked fans for being there and cheering for him, felt like he’s at home sometimes playing in NY.

  • kauaiblue

    oh, ok…

  • John Focker

No, we’ve watched Kemba squander away TOO F*ING MANY victories in the last minutes of on winnable games.

And as far a recognizing Lin’s talents, it’s not just Chris Baldwin, Calvin Murphy and Tom Gardner agree as well.

BTW, WHY are you even spending time here??? You clearly have a beef with Lin. Wouldn’t you enjoy Kemba forums more?

Oh wait, they don’t exist. That would explain why you’re here t**lling.

  • LinMad

He did not HAVE to score 51 pts. he could have played like a PG and get everyone involved. Just like Lin did in the first half when we were up by 15 pts

  • YearoftheMonkey

Blazers are 7th in the west and last time I checked hornets are 7th in the east

  • heart

Plays Defense can sap lots of energy, and Lopez is a shot blocker. Nets targeted Lin. The times Lin got the ball, he tried to drive to the basket. He got fouled at least 2 fouls on those layups, but no calls. KW can go for 0/6 and won’t get criticized nor pulled off the floor, bc he gets PT to redeem himself. Lin does not have that luxury. When Lin gets KW’s role and minutes, then we can evaluate him differently…

  • JJ Hui

    Yes! Exactly!

  • Translation: “NY crowd, if you will, I can make this home again” =)

Always classy and diplomatic as usual

  • YearoftheMonkey

But yet the Blazers are 7th in the west even after losing 3 of their best players….

  • kauaiblue

that was one lucky game… blazers are doomed with him and his cajillion points… but lack of ability to play teamball…

  • LinMad

and weren’t we 10th in the east when Kemba was very dominant and Lin started getting less touches?

  • sport

Rockets and Knicks were no.2 in the West at one point before they came crashing down; your point? Shot chuckers like Melo, Harden, Lillard are detrimental to the team and have no business in modern day basketball. At this rate GSW will not only 3 peat but even match MJ and Bulls’ two 3 peat records!

  • kauaiblue

precisely… he plays like walker… with the same results…

  • Clifford definitely played him to close for his strong defense

  • Pete Roces

Everyone here saw a stat padding defenseless KW who doesn’t possess PG ability, few can’t see it cause they are not real Lin fans. Lin is the one responsible for Hornet’s win not KW.

  • james brown

kw played ok, but his impact was just on offense and points made..but who will not if you handled the ball almost all the time and shoot it at 90% rate during that time. all hornets players played well and with intensity to win the game..that’s it if you don’t want to consider giving what is due for LIn for his contributions and impact during crucial moments of the 4th Q.

  • kauaiblue

Jlin defense is amazing and becoming exciting like his o… dude is awesome… thats why we watch…

  • Yascar

Agree. They’re surprising a lot of people. Not saying ball hogging is good, but I agree that winning is what people remember and what’s important. What’s scary is as long as the Hornets are winning, they’ll probably indulge Kemba.

In this team, I don’t think Kemba ball is the only way to win. He’a got more talent around him than he ever has, and he should play that way.

  • aras

good luck with that in the playoffs when it barely works against the nets good luck with that against the top teams. Charlotte aint an elite Team and they dont have a star. Kemba is not a star i dont know what you are on about. Im just being honest I have nothing against kemba he is who he is as a player. a scorer who cant get his own guys going. he has a decent team around him but likes to do his own thing instead. it’s fools gold

  • I’ll create a post-game thread soon so @adele:disqus, @Rosebud68:disqus and others can share their game experience later

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • GameWatcher

LOL, I know. Gotta give Lin credit for great D though. However, getting better at D but getting worse at O doesn’t make him a better player though.

  • John Focker

Corey Brewer scored 51 pts once, your point being?

You gotta STOP focusing on one player’s scoring and look at the whole picture. Basketball is a TEAM sport, and a leader LIFTS his team up, NOT carry it.

  • LinMad

Cause someone missed a few shots doesn’t mean you can ball hog. You act like Kemba is a smart player. He plays the same way every game. Ball hogs. Some games he shoots 20% and no one talks about it cause we’re used to him shooting a lot and also missing a lot.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Kemba is not Lillard.

  • John Focker

Right, and I explicitly remember Kemba carrying the Bobcats to 18L and 23L losing streaks on b2b years.

    Go Super Kemba!!!

  • GameWatcher

Not with Dolan around. They would rather start Barrea or Calderon

  • james brown

most people here put premium on scoring and if one is not getting points, easily been branded as a scrub…that’s why most were frustrated if jLIN can’t get his score…

  • kauaiblue

When JLin is given the oppt to be the pg, he controls the game… his unselfish play results in 35 pts and a win… he has shown this consistently over the past 4 years…

  • LinMad

I put the blame on Lin’s 2nd half shooting slump on Kemball/Coach. They want to use Lin sparingly on offense even though he is the better PG. As if they think Lin can shoot hot whenever coach wants him to shoot. Lin isn’t a SG. That is his weakest role on offense. He’s better at PG and we’ve seen it numerous times.

Cliff won’t say anything about Lin’s defense cause Lin’s defense is always on point. It’s actually more consistent role than his offense role.

  • John Focker

Brewer scored 51 points on Rockets AND beat them, and Harden’s a “super scorer” in the same venue as Kemba. Any questions?

And your logic is faulty. If Corey Brewer the non-super-star can score 51, why’s Lillard’s such a big deal?

  • kauaiblue

Right, i don’t know whats gonig on, but it is strange that jlin gets the ice when hes hot, but yet they turn to him when they need to win… smh…

  • james brown

nets focused on who to stopped and who to let go..LOL!!!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

His answer about Kemba is a right thing to say and must be said as planned.

  • Maknusia

I dont think thats the intention of @yearofthemonkey:disqus but I think its also unfair to mock and put down other players just because of our love towards Lin…we tend to ridicule players “all the time”…thats neither respectful nor polite

  • Pete Roces

Great post, basketball is not an individual sport, plays that involve all team mates are best for the team, ISO or heroball for stats padding purpose will never go far in playoff. Open eyes widely and see how GSW and Spurs play.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Most New Yorkers don’t care or don’t even know he’s from the Bronx.

  • sport

Nets and Brooklyn are also NY but that team is another disaster unless they hire Colangelo, Lin, and MDA. Unless Nets hires MDA as coach there’s no way Lin will return to NY any time soon.

  • YearoftheMonkey

Because Brewer doesn’t put up big games consistently .. Lillard puts up big games on a Consistent basis! That’s what separates them!

  • kauaiblue

read my post monkey… when he is given the oppt, which is inconsistent, he produces consistently good results… dig?

  • LinMad

My opinion about Kemba is that he ball hogged and iced out Lin the 2nd half. Not just Lin but other players too. They all were in a shooting slump. And we all saw it right?

Yes, players weren’t making shots which gave kemba the green light but he created that situation.

  • james brown

and its so strange that at the start of the 4th, KW still there playing PG instead of LIN????

  • kauaiblue

dude, give it up… look at the volume of opposition you are receiving below… ballhogging is not good…

  • John Focker

Lillard is better than Kemba, I’ll give you that, because he doesn’t sink his team when he volume-shoots.

Going back to Kemba, if he shoots like Curry AND takes the team to EC 1st, then I’ll budge. And don’t come crying foul because Kemba gets paid MORE than Curry.

  • Briiick

Harden used to do that. They all need to play beside Lin to ice him.

  • Pete Roces

Let’s see what he can do if ever they go into playoffs. Until then enjoy more stats padding heroball ISO ball around NBA.

  • james brown

now i know that you are those Fans that believes having more points meant having more impact even when the team is losing.

  • blubell

I would have to ask you to be careful what you post from now on. You rarely post when Jeremy plays well and posts more often when Kemba scores well and stir things up with your bait posts. You’ve posted here many times under different username and was banned. Tread carefully.

  • John Focker

Yeah, they see skin color. Yay!

By the way, David Stern himself admitted that Lin’s difficult career path had to do with Lin’s ethnicity, so shut it.

  • james brown

he got the 35 points alongside teammates of 5 to seven on double digit scores too! it meant that the ball was being evenly distributed and not only 1 player was scoring well

  • John Focker

Yeah, and how many games have MKG, Al, Batum and Lamb missed?

  • blubell

    thnks!

  • John Focker

If Lin was the starting PG the Hornets would be TOP EC RIGHT NOW. Go back and rewatch the Hornets losses and you’ll see Kemba throwing away AT LEAST 12 games, starting with the 2 losses to Hawks and the first lost to Bulls.

Also, Kemba has NEVER beat a LeBron team.

  • sport

Totally agree, never even knew who Walker was until Lin joined Hornets. Goes to show he isn’t a star. Actual star players creates an impression and pressure on the opponents you can’t forget; Walker just doesn’t have that!

  • james brown

because nets knew that hornets win because of their defense!

  • John Focker

Lin beat the GSW with the likes of Jordan Hill, Wes Johnson, Wayne Ellington, Swaggy P, Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre. True story. Ed Davis was good at PNR with Lin, but BS kept him away.

I challenge you to find a roster worse than that.

  • sport

Yup exactly why I saw that Cliff copied Mchale’s playbook to a tee! Pushing Lin to play SG instead of PG and standing in the corner while watching the ball hog chuck shots. Except he’s a wolf hidden under sheep skin!

  • kauaiblue

    thanks john… precisely

  • your son’s voltaire

yup, LIn isn’t gonna say “oh, that ball hog?”

  • John Focker

And let’s ignore and forget the mockery Yao has received. Please remind me, what did Barkley kiss?

  • sws94

He iced out Lin no more than he iced out Lee. Whatever position Lin and Lee plays, they aren’t that much a part of the offense. Hard for Lin to score with Kemba on the floor. Lin playing PG in the 2nd and feeding Al was some of the nicest offensive flow in the game.

  • John Focker

What part of tanking don’t you understand? Do you see the Sixers beating the GSW?

  • John Focker

Right, which is why they lost to the Bucks. And who on the Bucks team scored 51 points? Beat it.

  • sws94

Perhaps. They should see, though, that if you at least involve Lin in the offense more, good things happen. I wish Cliff would involve Lin in the offense more when Kemba is on the court. Lin can actually help Kemba work less and save energy.

  • sws94

John, that’s an isolated game. This year’s GSW is a lot better than last years. That’s a true comment.

  • james brown

yeah because JLIN seldom play PG duties except when their Pg is
injured and just like cavs game JLIN hold the ball and distribute, make
teammates play with the flow and get their chances to score to get a
balance team scoring among the players playing…that’s supposed a team
    should play ball!

so as a SG, his impact on offense is
correlative and dependent on whether the Pg gives him play to score and
how much often the PG gives it.

  • new thread
Jeremy Lin 1st Half Offense and Closing Defense Helped the Hornets to Beat the Nets
    http://www.jlinportal.com/jeremy-lin-1st-half-offense-and-closing-defense-helped-the-hornets-to-beat-the-nets/

    – Jeremy Lin had a quick offensive outburst in the 1st half (10pts/1ast/2reb in 11 min with 3-4 shooting with highest +15) after Kemba got some rest and he had a chance to handle the ball and set up the offense. But he lost his shooting touch and didn’t handle the ball very much in the 2nd half and had few drives blocked by Lopez and rimmed out. He compensated by providing great defense (steal, defensive pressure to cause TOs, rebound) to help the Hornets pull the win 104-96

    – Lin finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 30 min with +10 (2nd highest in team after Batum +13)

    – Kemba played great individually (28pts/3asts in 39 min) but as it frequently happened, he did not involve his teammates much (no passing and launching shots in many offensive possessions). This can work against non-playoff teams like the Nets but it killed the offensive flow by not involving his teammates in passing and shooting.

Hopefully it will change so the Hornets to reach the playoff with team-ball and not hero-ball with limited success.

  • james brown

no sense throwing facts on person who doesn’t like to accept and believe things even if its in front of them ..meaning ..a stubborn non accepting person.

  • sws94

Kemba doesn’t play “PG” either. Keep in mind that Cliff’s offense the PG is a ball-handler/scorer, the SG is a facilitator when it is Batum and others on the court can initiate and be facilitators as well. This isn’t a PG-centric control-the-offense type of offense.

When Lin initiates as the main-ballhandler, he isn’t the main scorer. So the offense takes a different dynamic. One more involving all of the team.

  • John Focker

My sincere apologies for littering troll chow.

  • LinMad

Hornets is doing it wrong. Lin is not a SG. He excels when he’s PG and then he also can play SG when he’s PG touching the ball a lot.

  • LinMad

    after the season maybe

  • John Focker

My slip, point being you don’t need one single player scoring / chucking to win a big game. Case in point, Lin leading to wins vs. GSW and Cavs.

  • sws94

Lin should run the “Cliff point” much more. This I totally agree with.

  • sws94

I didn’t see Lillard, I don’t think of him as a chucker that much. Lin’s game was great against Cavs, encouraged the whole team to play the right way.

  • yellowshadow

    official nba highlight

  • John Focker

Chucker was meant for Kemba. If Lin was starting PG and the Hornets allowed to play like that the entire season, Hornets will be at worst remain 2nd in EC (which they were) and had a solid shot at NBA Finals this year.

  • Maknusia

It is what it is…not saying what CHA is running is right…..but its KW centric and since he is not a good facilitator and passer; that function is given to Batum.

Lin had been doing well with his assignments since he is not the offensive weapon used….its fine if we were to see the offensive play and scoring is ran thru KW.

Lin just need to continue to seize the moment when he has the opportunity

  • freemind

KW was allowed to developed for 5 yrs in the same team . seriously if after all this focused development he is turning to be able to shoot better…that is obviously expected. I think the point here is that he should be doing more then just chucking balls. All the stats but no win in the last 5 years was why people are lukewarm to him and why he has always been snub out of all star. People have eyes and they can make their own call. they do not need PR to tell them ” hey watch me I can shoot 50 ” what is the use of that stat when you can’t take the team to win that game.”

  • heart

Look at how many helpers/pieces Hornets added this year. This is a team sport. It’s not one person. KW is still focused on himself for his own stats while everyone else is helping out w/his defense and helping each other to get wins. KW is the beneficiary. He gets consistent PT and PG role while Lin’s role is erratic. And if Lin is the only best player on the next team, he can help make his teammates better, but the org also have to get pieces to complement his game to be competitive. Enough said!

  • heart

I think you’re baiting us to defend Lin. In reality, Lin does not need defending if you’re a believer in his game and understand his situation. Read my other post below. Enough said.

  • freemind

1000% agree . I would like to see Lin help a team that plays like a team. MJ has agenda to develop his star player . Ego is a big issue here.. just listen to this his interview after the nets game, no credit to the team..it’s ME ME ME …so sad.
    https://twitter.com/hornets/status/701584126848073728

  • freemind

contrast his response to that of KW after game interview. KW did not mention or credit team. all he said was I.. I.. I ..I lost count of the number of I’s

  • heart

Thanks for the video. Yep, he has help from coaches and teammates, but not the other way around. He played 38:48 minutes and totally focused on getting his stats first before giving up the rock to his teammates. I checked the box score, KW made only ONE assist in each of these quarters: 2Q, 3Q, 4Q, and 0 assist in the first quarter. His assists either come from timeout w/setup play, and/or only w/ open teammates when the win is already ascertained, non-impacting moments. Sorry, KW’s not a TRUE pg. This is just selfishness…

  • travis

sorry i just saw this! maybe next time lol

  • Brewkowski

Kemba is not in the same class as Lillard. Kemba is an one dimensional scorer that doesn’t make his teammates better. He doesn’t do much defensively either.

  • adele

Parking is not good there. Better to ride the train

  • TK Wong

He changed the momentum of the game when he drew two offensive fouls against the Nets I think it was in 4th quarter, illegal screen by Lopez, and next Net possession drew an offensive charge. Also in 4th quarter intercepted/stole that cross court pass. Hornets broadcast called the intercepted pass the defensive play of the game. Jeremy gets the job done on defense!

  • Phillycheese

No need to cast blame. Lin was responsible for missing his shots. Blaming others is not productive.

  • Phillycheese

    Lets not go there.

  • kauaiblue

    Its not blame… assigning responsibility…

  • kauaiblue

    Thats our boy…
