G5 CHA @DAL Game Thread

After an impressive win against Chicago Bulls with the help of 37 suggestions from ex-coach Thibs, will the Hornets continue its hot shooting against the Mavs?

Will Coach Carlisle trap JLin and force him to give up the ball to prevent him to run the 2nd unit offense?

Will Lin/Lamb/Hawes/Zeller continue to be effective?

Kemba also blogged about his desire to set the tone strongly for the 1st unit to get a good start so it’s great to see.

Hornets need to play well together to get a lot of Wins so it’s an encouraging development to get a huge win vs the Bulls

Let’s persevere to hope/pray/wish/support JLin to stay healthy and have fun to play his aggressive game whenever he steps on the court

Let’s go, JLin!

Compare Lin,Walker vs Mavericks D. Williams, D. Harris 2015-2016 season and check PTS, ORtg, DRtg on “Per 100 Poss” section. You know Lin could have been the best if he had the same play time as others.

      http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&y1=2016&p1=linje01&y2=2016&p2=walkeke02&y3=2016&p3=willide01&y4=2016&p4=harride01&p5=&p6=

    • Yes, JLin is definitely the most effective among all 4 PGs.
Less wasted possessions & better Point-Per-Shot production.

The biggest difference is Lin’s ability to draw fouls like a machine

    • NONONO

      TS% (True Shooting Percentage) 58%.

Mavericks thinks Keeping Batum in check is the key to beat Hornets. I am glad they has not checked Lin’s number = +15.6 points difference between Lin is On and Off court.

      BTW. Walker is -6.

    • Nice find!

I guess I shouldn’t tweet this yet before tonight’s game lol

    • Briiick

Aren’t they in a luxury tanking mode ?

    • NONONO
    • Mavs is missing Parsons who can penetrate the lane.

Without him, only Barea and Felton can give a spark to penetrate and kick out to open shooters.

Hornets can definitely take this game if they have disciplined defense & have Kemba/Lin/Batum to penetrate Dallas defense.

Parsons makes all the difference because of one thing…his penetration.

There is a reason that word was coming out of Mavs camp this offseason that they wanted to run the offense through Chandler Parsons this year in a point-forward type role. His ability to get to the rim changes the whole defensive game plan for the opposing team.

Without Parsons on the court, the Mavs turn into a straight jump shooting team.Wesley Matthews is more of a sharp shooting, grounded two guard. Dirk and Zaza aren’t taking anyone off the dribble. Even Deron Williams isn’t as threatening as he was earlier in his career.

This is why we see a spark when J.J. Barea or Raymond Felton come into the game because they can get into the lane, draw in defenders, and kick out to open shooters to a certain level. We saw this same impact back last year when Barea took over for Rondo and opened things up in the playoff series in Houston.

So what does it mean for the forseable future until Parsons is off his minute restrictions?

First, we must remain hot from the field. Dirk has been incredible to start the season and the Mavs must continue to shoot the ball well until Parsons gets back to full speed.

Second, Deron Williams is going to have to stay aggressive. It is very clear through the first four games that Williams looks healthy and ready to go for the season, I just want to see him creating more in the lane and shooting the ball more than he is so far.

So what will the Mavericks look like when Parsons is off his minute restrictions?

First, the Mavs will have their go-to offense in full force for the end of games. The ball in Parsons hands at the top of the key, pick and roll with Dirk, with Williams and Matthews on the outside.

Second, the rest of the Mavs’ field goal percentage should go up. Parsons will use his penetration threat to either score the ball at the basket or draw the defenders off his teammates around him. Thus opening up more shots for the rest of the team.

In my opinion, Chandler Parsons is the most important person to this Dallas Mavericks team. Not having him for the final two quarters of games is a bigger deal than some people think, but hopefully something that can be weathered until the restrictions are lifted.

To this Mavs team, Parsons makes all the difference.

    • sws94

Makes sense, a lot of what the Hornets do goes through Batum.

    • Briiick

      This sounds like Cuban’s thought.

You win by outscoring your opponent. It doesn’t matter if you do it by better defense or better offense. How does this tweet (factual as it is) help Lin’s cause?

    • Sundown

PFV is a basketball fan first; not everything he posts is designed to help Lin’s cause. He’s just doing what he does best, gathering info or data that might have been overlooked, and posting it for general review.

    • zxcvb

No rumors. That’s just content farm from random people trying to get hits. Don’t trust any site that isn’t established like Yahoo/Woj, ESPN or at least HoopsHype or CBS Sports.

    • Wayne Li

Parsons is an extremely overrated player by Mark Cuban. Parsons stats in Rockets uniform were inflated by his body coach Kevin Mchale playing him big minutes.

Last two off seasons, Mark Cuban behaved like a teanager boy who spent a lot time at shopping mall with gift cards and didn’t find anything he planned to purchase, finally went last minutes shopping spree to spend his gift cards crazily. This way he got Parsons and Wes both unintentionally.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Well then he should have a separate Twitter account that doesn’t have a JLin stamp. And anyway, if he’s going to promote himself using JLin’s brand, he should try to help Lin’s cause.

    • zxcvb

They just need to keep moving the ball and playing focused. Shots won’t go down like last game, but they have to trust the system and each other. Set hard screens. Make hard cuts. Roll to the rim. Shoot decisively or pass decisively.

    • Rick Johnson

Trouble is sometimes shots just don’t fall so isn’t something you can’t always consistently depend on. You need to be able to play good defense to make up for it.

    • CJSHYY
    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I’m not saying good defense isn’t crucial in BB. We all know it is. But BB has a problem in that basic stats don’t really credit the players with good D. No matter how great Lin’s D is or how much effort he exerts, “skeptics” will claim Lin’s defense is poor. So Lin needs to focus on points and assists for his career to get back on track. And as you know, Harden was not runner-up for MVP due to his D 🙂

    • sws94

Did you her Lin’s interview? He said he’s not worried about the team’s offense. He said everything starts on the defensive end. That was also repeated by Spencer Hawes and Al Jefferson.

    • Rick Johnson

      True

    • Rick Johnson

      No spike hair there

    • Rick Johnson
    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Who said that, coach?

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yeah and he said that last season under BS as well: “We’re not even thinking about offense only defense.” And BS never paired him with Davis and or ran PnR plays for him. That was not too optimal for Lin was it. Besides, Lin can say whatever he wants, it’s his business.

    • gum

PFV is a huge fan of Jeremy Lin!

Hi gum. We had this discussion once but you probably don’t remember. Anyway, even huge fans of JLin don’t always get it right.

      The damage is done ?

    • Joe what do you know

PFV was referring to Hornets defence as a team rather than JLin’s defence… I thought that was pretty obvious. I fail to see how that tweet was in anyway unhelpful to Lin’s cause…

    • jakey

I hope he doesn’t lose his contract with Adidas

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Think of it this way. Is Linsanity more likely to return in a D’Antoni style run-and-gun offense that puts less focus on D or with a Grizzlies’ (or Clifford) coaching style of grind it out D?

    • Whitman Lam

Points scored per game, and points allowed per game for the opponent.

Typically means scoring offense (i.e. pts/gm) and scoring defense (pts/gm allowed). Anyway, whatever the metric, 20th place is any category is not very good. It is what it is.

    • Spot

And Clifford still thinks Hairston is a good defender! 🙂

    • jolno

Paul actually means 5th best in ORtg and 20th best in DRtg rather than points per game or points allowed per game. ORtg is points scored per 100 possessions and DRtg is points allowed per 100 possessions.

The Hornets currently have 106.9 ORtg and 104.3 DRtg.

    • Spot

I’m not saying Rose is better than Lin, not at all, especially this Rose (but neither the best Rose was).

I was only saying that around NBA GMs get players for their name or something not for what they really bring to the team.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

By the way, your frequent posts insisting that you don’t want Lin to start are also counterproductive to put it nicely. The rationale you give simply has no basis. Big Al typically plays for 30 minutes. Unless Lin is restricted to only 18 minutes of playing time. Lin will overlap with Big Al whether he starts or not.

    • Joe what do you know

Hmmm… So the reason you weren’t happy with PFV’s tweet was because his tweet was going against the build up of the 2nd coming of Linsanity? You really lost me there….

    • KHuang

Well, so much for Felton and Barea this game.

They’re facing Jeremy Lin who has been murdering whatever Mavs guard he’s matched up against.

If hoopshype.com doesn’t report it, it’s not real.

For example, hoopshype reported that the Mavs were interested in offering Lin a contract this offseason but decided not to pursue when rumblings of Deron Williams leaving the Nets arose.

    • David Kim

What if Bulls want Lin as a starting PG next year?
Do you guys want Lin stays at hornets as a 6th man role?
If MKG comes back next year, Kemba, Batum, MKG, Marvin or Cody, and Jefferson will be starting line up next year.
      I know Its too early…LOL
I will choose Lin to bulls for starting PG and team up with Butler.

    • sws94

That’s what I think is best for him. He’s not necessary in the first unit and is crucial in the 2nd. He needs the PG time in the second unit to build up his PG awareness, pacing, etc. again and get his team mates onboard with him. All of this is based on Lin continuing to finish games. Sorry, I’m not that concerned about starting. Finishing is way more important. I’ve said that before too. If you don’t understand that, well, there’s not much more I can tell you. I don’t think how many minutes he plays depends on whether he starts or not because he plays more minutes than PJ does. He needs some practice time with Al and Kemba because he’ll lose with them.

    • KHuang

I doubt the Bulls think Lin’s good enough to play in the NBA.

    • David Kim

If Lin plays well this year, they might change their opinion….

    • sws94

BS is a clown. Clifford is a real coach. The Lakers aren’t his team anymore. Lin knows you have to play defense to win the lower-scoring games and at key points in a game or to come back from runs. You can win in a shootout with some teams, and get wiped off the floor with others. Some teams you need to hold down their scoring as much as possible while executing your own offense.

    • sws94

      That’s a little extreme KHuang.

    • sws94

It was a tweet about the team, not Lin.

    • Joe what do you know

Feeling is mutual. If the 2nd coming of Linsanity is what you want, that’s fine for you but not every Lin fans have that as their priority and we as Lin supporters should really try to understand what Jeremy want and reapect that. To me, I really don’t think another Linsanity is what JLin wants. Yes he can handle all that hype and attention with grace but I really think he would rather avoid it if possible.

Back to PFV’s tweet. I still fail to see what the problem is. All he tweeted was that Hornets may need to look at their defence and improve it. There’s always room for improvement isn’t there? And improvement isn’t a bad thing right?

    • Rick Johnson

He outplayed them pretty good the last game. I guess they don’t belong in the NBA either.

    • Joe what do you know

Let’s see what the interaction and chemistry is like and come to a conclusion in the 2nd half of the season. If Hornets treats Lin like family, and he truely has an important role on their roster, be it starter or 6th man, I would love to see him remain a Hornet. If things aren’t that smooth, by all means jump the ship.

The stats on NBA look slightly different than what has been posted below.
      http://stats.nba.com/league/team/#!/advanced/?sort=DEF_RATING&dir=-1

Still, the difference between CHA and GS is fairly stark. On average, over a series of 20 possessions the opponent is likely to get one more basket against the Hornets then they would against GS.

Personally I would like to see what Hornets will do with Coach Cliff’s expiring contract. This is the main piece of Hornets future in my mind where Hornets will head to.

    • This is funny 🙂

      Starter!

    • MJ likes Clifford very much; not sure if they will wait until end to give extension.

If they’re winning big, I think they will lock him up since other teams start showing interest

    • sws94

That’s how I feel. And I’m also OK to the Lin as 6th man player. Maybe he has transitioned from a PG starter type to a 6th Man off the bench that closes Manu Ginobili type. And maybe his minutes will be 27 instead of 31. I can deal with that.

    • GoodDayLA

to me Netrtg matters most when all is said and done. And charlotte is middle of the pack. Win more games and that will go up.

    • Joe what do you know

Precisely. I thought it was very obvious so I don’t know why some Lin fans take that as a source of disappointment or dismay…

    • jolno

Heading into tonight’s game, 32.7% of Hornets’ FGA has been 3 point attempts, which ranks 4th in the NBA. It’s drastically higher than the 22.6% (24th) they had last season. However, we can argue that those low attempts can be justified since the Hornets didn’t have any 3 point shooters last season, ranking last in team 3P% at 31.8%. They shot 40.4% so far this season (2nd in the NBA), which is why they currently have the 5th best offense despite the horrendous 2P%.

Right now the Hornets ranked 29th in 2P% at 43.4%. Ironically, they also ranked 29th in 2P% (45%) last season. This is really an area of concern because it seems like there is a trend for the horrible 2P% (probably due to Big AL and to a lesser degree Kemba). The 4 game sample size is still pretty small but if the low 2P% continues the Hornets will have to make some roster changes if they want to contend for the playoffs.

    • sws94

That’s why I don’t care for Nick Young. He dribbles and creates for himself. He seems only to pass when he has to. Kobe will assist, when he feels like taken over the PG’s job who is perfectly capable of doing it. He does it out of ego.

    • Briiick

Who is Kobe in the picture ?

    • GoodDayLA

“Lance is here because of me. I’m the one that wanted Lance,” Clifford said after not playing him for the second consecutive game. “It’s simply that I can’t find a group that plays well when he’s out there.”

Scary thought that Clifford wanted Lance that bad and thinks Lin can play.

So Clifford is a genius or a dud.

Clifford could’t find a group to play with Lance?

Sounds scary if he’s that good of a coach.

    • Joe what do you know

But hey… Let’s not kid ourselves. Kobe might’ve bricked all the passes from Swaggy… Hence no assists… Lol

    • GoodDayLA

Random post from people on charlotte observer last season:

“Clifford is an idiotttttt of an offensive coach . Lance needs space to run his pick n roll which you would need to break down the Hawks . Last night , the ball went thru Al all game . He made a quick move or made a pass much quicker which was one of my chief complaints . Still ,it’s the same old tired offense w no variation . There’s still no abundant man n ball movement which you must have to shift defenses and get advantages .”

Hey this guy sounds like a Lin fan LOL. Sub “Lance” for “Lin” Haha

    • Rick Johnson

Isn’t part of that also because Kobe is a starter and Swaggy comes off the bench. They aren’t on the floor together that often and when they do they both just look to shoot not pass the ball.

    • Spot

That’s why he plays Batum SG.

He’s not high on Jeremy cause he’s the 4th option on the team at best.

He just thinks could be useful with second unit and ball in his hands to score against weaker opponents.

Charlotte have so much skill in their roster that they don’t even know.

Another post by team fans last season on charlotte observer. These people are posting exactly what Lin fans here post. Would like to see what these guys think of Lin.

      Posted by: Johnny | Apr 3, 2015 6:55:11 AM

Dave … You have no idea what you’re talking about . The ball goes into Al waaaay too much . Everytime he touches it , he winds The clock down , he misses cutters , guys open at the rim and forces shots on Two sometimes three players .

When the ball goes into Al this is what happens : no touches per possesion by teamates , no multiple shot attempts by teamates , standing at the acr waiting on a pass flat footed that rarely comes , loss of enthusiasm by teamates , stagnate offense , no ball movement and no man movement,

This is what happens when teamates grow cold as its Said . Bill Self says if teamates are not involved in the offense , they won’t play inspired ball or DEfense . Loads of coaches have said the same .

Al shoots in the 40’s from the field . He takes no foul shots . W such high useage , it’s playing into the hands of opposing teams and is the most inefficient shot in the game . No player averaging 16 points a game should have an offense designed around such garbage . No center that got out the first round ever shot in the 40’s from the field abd won’t . Most allstar centers or even bum centers shoot in the 50 ‘s . Few shoot in the 60 ‘s as was posted tho .

The reason no pick n roll is run w Kemba and Al is bc Kemba can’t see the roller or hit him . And Al is a pathetic roller ..

Finally , we had good arc ball shooters here : Tolliver , cdr , Mo , ROBERTS , Gary ….. W these guys , this garbage can’t work . Last yr , had teams not rushed to the bottom , we would not have been in the playoffs . It’s never worked nor can it .

    • Spot

That’s what I wanted to say when I wrote they would trade for Rose in an heartbeat….

    • Spot

The only player who can run Clifford’s offense and make him look like a good coach is named Jeremy Lin.

    • GoodDayLA

watch MJ build this team into winners and then trade half of it away for “StAR”

MDA did that in NYC with Amare and Felton at PG when Ray was good still. Dolan then ruined a top 2-3 eastern team for Melo and pay for it to this very day.

    • It says Kobe had a chance to pass 14 times to Swaggy so it must’ve been Kobe PG mode.

Swaggy just has the shooter mentality, I think.
      Not very efficient for sure

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

If Lin is to get 30 minutes, he must play with BOTH units. So all of your arguments about “best for him, where he’s needed more, etc.” are moot points. You say finishing is more important than starting. Why not do both? It’s possible to have it all. You just have to stagger his minutes. Lin needs to start but sub out after 6 minutes. That way he can start, finish AND lead the second unit. It doesn’t bother you that the other team is making substitutions at the 6 min mark and we have to wait 10 minutes for Lin to enter the game? And you may not be concerned about starting but in every sport, starters are the stars and backups are well, just 2nd-stringers.

Honestly I really don’t care what happened last season. Past is past unless it has something to do with now.

For your info only: am really grateful if you can post a “non-bias” post from this season or current game only.

    • GoodDayLA

lol I cannot believe how the posts from last season all sounds exactly the same as what we post here.

It’s just we believe in LIn. I wonder what frustrated Hornets fan think of Lin so far and if they thought he should have started based on pre season.

      I would love to know

    • I noticed he was not as trigger-happy when playing with Lin last season but for most time, he’s a shoot-first, shoot-last player

    • GoodDayLA

they are posting exactly what we post here. Just saying. It’s interesting.

    • pandaboy99

Its not impossible that they trade Lin for rose and other pieces. Chicago has been whooped so many times by lin and are so sick of broken rose. i wouldnt put it against the hornets if they could trade for the “idea” of Rose, no matter how short sighted it is.

    • GoodDayLA

so you are saying clifford doesn’t really believe in Lin much.

    • yes, they might wait until last minute

    • Spot

Still the beginning of the season.

I’m not sold on Clifford being a Lin fan still neither that he is a good coach.

Time will tell. Hope I’m wrong obviously.

    • GoodDayLA

Lin can’t be traded till December though right? Not that Chicago wants Lin at all.

    • Lin definitely got Felton’s number.
Barea can get loose but JLin’s defense has improved this year so I’m curious how he’ll play

    • Spot

Problem is we don’t know if Chicago want Jeremy.

I think they will look at young promising players.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Sorry I’m not interesting to read this at all. I’m for one is still viewed highly on Cliff. He is 1000 times better than his last 2 coaches. For a change I really enjoy Hornets games. Please don’t bring past negativisms to this site. Thanks in advance!

    • Spot

      Right

    • takemeback2reaganyears

This should be an off season article right after if the Hornets has a bad season. Plus…..there’s no MJ replacement not even LBJ.

    • Whitman Lam

Linsanity requires a very talented big man. Memphis big men >> Charlotte big men.

    • Parsons definitely charmed Cuban.

They could’ve had JLin but I guess they’d lose him twice.

    • Spot

Season is long. We only can pray and cheer for Jeremy.

    • GoodDayLA

Clifford seems a bit stubborn & slow to come around. I think all coaches are brilliant on paper and strategy on paper. But sometimes you cannot execute what looks good on paper into real life.

That is my fear with Clifford.

    • Spot

To me, he doesn’t. Time will tell.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Not good news! Bad weather in Fort Worth. Hopefully it doesn’t affect Dallas that much. Strange! Tornado in November!!!! Never experienced it when I lived in Dallas/Fort Worth area for over 8 years.
      https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/662411245031546880

    • Spot

I think Jordan didn’t go there cause they were not able to get Jeremy.

Deandre knew how good he could be with Jeremy but when Dallas failed to get him he chose to be the 3rd string in LA.

    • GoodDayLA

at least he plays Lin off the bench.. Imagine if he lied about that!

I have my doubts Lin will keep closing games. This is Houston 2.0.

My fear is the better the team becomes, the more they feel they can treat Lin like garbage or that Lin doesn’t matter. Kind of like Houston did to him.

    • give Clifford a chance.
He has given Lin more faith than his previous 3 coaches ever did

no sense looking back with fear while Clifford is running good plays suitable for JLin’s game. Yes, we’d like more PT but let’s get winning first with JLin for more media exposure

    • Spot

We can only wait and see. And pray and cheer. That’s it. Time will tell.

    • GoodDayLA

season is still young and winning can cure a lot of things. I hope this team starts putting together some wins quickly.

    • GoodDayLA

the fan post is actually insulting Al and Kemba. I think it has less to do with Clifford.

    • cdblue10

      hey there…how are you?

    • Spot

I’m sure he doesn’t like go small. If Lamb explodes, like he can, maybe you’re right.

But it’s early. We will see.

I’m still optimistic toward this season.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

So you weren’t lost after all? 🙂 Here’s the problem with your logic. You say: “we as Lin supporters should really try to understand what Jeremy wants and respect that. To me, I really don’t think another Linsanity is what JLin wants.”

You assume that you know what JLin wants better than I do. Maybe you do, but maybe you’re wrong. All summer long, Lin gave lectures entitled, “Linsanity 2.0.” Now that doesn’t prove anything since it can be interpreted in different ways. But to me it means that he does want it to return. You know he did bother to trademark the term. And one thing is certain, Lin has stated that he does want to be an All-star and he does want to want to win a championship. Could those two things happen without the return of Linsanity?

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      Kam or Psycho T?

    • Whitman Lam

Rose is broken down. Even the Knicks and Lakers wouldn’t trade for him given his injury history.

    • Briiick

      Spot on !

    • sws94

I’d like to see Lin come in earlier but this is game 5/82 tonight. I don’t know what will happen with him in the next game. I know Clifford says he wants a 9 man rotation and Lin is part of it. He may not get 30 minutes a night, he may get 26 or 27. But I think that depends on matchup and game flow and also what group of guys are best playing with each other. I’m still looking at how the whole team develops, how Lin is used and who he plays best with. You aren’t going to get anyone who doesn’t put as much as you do on starting not as the starting PG to agree with you so there’s no point in trying to make me need him to start on this particular team. I don’t.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Hi. Good to see you here after such a long time:-) Like JLin, am slowly bouncing back to “normal” life now:-) What about you??

    • GoodDayLA

Adidas is like the bad luck brand. Rose, Harden now shooting 10% and I hope he will get worse. Lin’s shoe falling off and sliding and he went back to wear last seasons shoe.

I hope Lin changes to another brand or Adidas finally start making good shoes again NOW. They use to make great shoes. What happened?

    • GoodDayLA

      ugly. that’s why he’s not a starter.

    • sws94

He bricked some, but, it’s impossible to brick all. I don’t think he got many.

    • GoodDayLA

Adidas probably wants to lose its contract with him.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Hornets do not have cap room for Rose. They have to trade Kemba and maybe even MKG. So the answer is NO.

    • cdblue10

Good to hear that….I just missed everybody like old times.Since Lin is starting to acclimate on his new team and it seems he’s very happy,I wanted to rekindle the long lost nostalgia of being a happy fan.

    • JLin Fan from Australia
    • sws94

I’m with you. Lance is a primadonna. I’m not worried about last year and think Cliff can grow and learn. I want to see what he does now. Sometimes different guys can execute a coach’s plan better than what he’s had.

    • BobbyH

Man with great power and determination will break the curse and elevate all the things around him. Lin is that kind of person. It is just my opinion, so you don’t need to agree or disagree and save your typing.

    • Spot

      They got Harden now.

    • GoodDayLA

      I like your opinion.

Lin is wearing the new season’s shoes again tonight.

To me, MJ will try to sign Jeremy with Air Jordan.

    • GoodDayLA

Kyrie Irving said this when BS was fired by Cavs: “emotions are running high. I’m trying to get over loss of my basketball father.”

I don’t think Lin thought like this when he left LA this summer.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Agreed. It was extremely tough last season. Thought second season in Rox was bad. Didn’t anticipate Lakers was even worse. Almost gave up NBA entirely during preseason games because I could smell the stink from BS and KB soon after preseason games began. Remember I had to fight with my own instinct and asked PFV of what I’ve witnessed. PFV confirmed my fears (This was done in private.) Anyway I thank God that JLin has chosen his team wisely this season. Seem like it is headed into the right direction for JLin for a change. Just want to enjoy games as much as JLin is enjoying it.

    • BobbyH

That’s possible, considering the China factor,

I don’t think Lin will bite. He is very loyal and Adidas has stuck by him, even when Nike by passed him thinking he wasn’t a ‘hot’ commodity. smh

    • cdblue10

I remembered that.I myself, thought that Lin finally found his place in LA,I was one of he happiest person at that time, then the 360 deg turn happened…Then I became an outcast fan of LA and started twitting about BS as the worst coach in NBA.My buddies even alienated me on some occassions but now they’re doing the same thing, twitting about BS,they finally realized that I was right on the first place.LOL!!!

    • ah, didn’t know you suffered alienation too.
Must be nice to finally be redeemed 🙂

People forgave BScott for tanking but now he still can’t win & blame players.
He might be out sooner than Kobe to be the scapegoat

    • GoodDayLA

Derek Harper was so fair to him on tv commentary.

    • sws94

Not every away commentator is negative on Lin BUT too many are. Harper was very fair, he appreciates a great player when he sees one.

    • cdblue10

Yes indeed!!!I have the last laugh I guess,oh man, some of us didn’t even speak for mos but now I’m happy since I have a new team to follow.

    • “Not just a pass, but a beautiful pass!”
“Talk about how to run a fastbreak. That was PERFECT!”

    • sws94

Lin was super aggressive in that game. He made a lot of big plays. No Harden, he was playing strong.

    • Rick Johnson

After that game in an interview Parsons said they passed the ball more when Harden was out. Got him in trouble.

    • wu kong

hey just throwing this out there about the Derrick Rose story…. it is all based on one guy…” He made these comments on an ESPN radio show saying “here is how I feel about Derrick Rose”, not “here is what I know about Derrick Rose” Now this could be the way the FO in Chicago gets the rumors started or it could be a talking head trying to get ratings and act like he knows something… just saying you might want to temper any thoughts you have of Rose being out and wanting JLin traded to Chicago….

    • Howard gave him a shoulder tap after the close W

Imagine what Hakeem said about Lin/Howard being a lethal duo if Harden wasn’t there. But I guess it’s not meant to be.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! So, it’s moving toward Fort Worth. Hopefully the storm will pass when it gets into Dallas area. Remember one time I experienced code … when I was on call in Parkland Hospital. Forgot what it meant when I received the code. Had to look up my badge for the meaning of it. Then had to go back to the office to find out what I needed to do when I received the code. What an experience!:-)

    • sws94

Yep. That team looked awesome that night. I remember that game. They often looked good when Harden was out.

It was even the 2nd game of a B2B. They had beat the Spurs the day before also without Harden.

I live in the south. grew up with bad storms and tornado sirens. We had engineers in from Malaysia for training years ago and weather was one of the first things we had to drill them on. It is just not something most people around the world have to deal with.

    • Michael

      LightLin Strikes.

    • cdblue10

If a big name like Rose was thrown into a kind of rumor like this, someone had stated his dissatisfaction,it might be coming from Rose camp or prolly on his team itself. When big stream media released a drama like this,100 % it’s all true.

    • blubell

Not bad contract for Carlisle, he is very good coach and can find job anywhere.

    • blubell
    • Maknusia

      And happy family 🙂

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep. Remember the very first I experienced Tornado. It was my second year of studying in US and I lived in Oklahoma at the time. I had final next day. I stayed in my apartment and studied hard. I knew the weather was really bad and it was quite horrible outside. Remember I heard the long sirens twice in a short time. I checked outside and didn’t know what it meant. I tried to stay away from window but continued to study. Next morning as I walked to campus to have my exam, I could see lots of trees down…. Later I learned tornado touched down only less than 10 minutes drive away from where I lived. It cut thru an apartment complex. Thank God that no one died from that. If I lived in that apartment, I may die or had serious injury without knowing what hit me:-( I was so clueless at the time.

    • CJSHYY

      Looks more & more like Lin’s game…LOL!

    • cdblue10

      Hey Maknusia.

    • sws94

Run. Then give it to Lin and let him throw run of his patented outlet passes. Or tell Lin to go, go, go.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

LOL You’d better go back to sleep so that we can get the win here:-)

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      Now that’s a tweet that I like!

Maybe we can help them make the best decision 😀

    • Briiick

Yeah, that how Rox blew out Bulls and GSW when Lin was unleashed 3 seasons ago.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Hornets will hit the Mavericks like a storm.

    • zxcvb

I think Lin’s rebounding has been severely underused in his career. Tell the wings to run and let Jeremy be the secondary rebounder (after the bigs). That way he can run the break and pass up the court to the wings.

    • Maknusia

Lol..its easy to criticize…wanna take on the job? I used to coach 2 different sport and I understand how difficult it is

    • Michael

You are very hard to please.

    • cdblue10

I haven’t seen Al and Lin played at the same time,I’m curuios on what they can do playing PnR together?

    • Michael

I know Carlisle is a good coach, but I sense an easy win tonight. And my sense is always right….at least 10% of the time.

    • heart

In this game, somehow Dallas always tried to switch Dirk on Lin to have a miss match, but Lin held his own. It’s been awhile and if I remember correctly, Dirk was upset and did a dirty shove or something at one point in the game. Does anyone remember?

    • JLin Fan from Australia

They did play together. Not much happened in my memory.

    • wu kong

oh that is scary! glad you were OK.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Why would MJ want any piece of the team which his hornet stomped in every aspect of the game effortlessly even with his second unit in?

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep. Hope and pray so for the win:-)

    • Maknusia

Lol…for a moment,I read whining can cure alot of things

    • Michael

Actually they don’t run pick an rolls together. But I saw a glimpse of the two man game with Al and Kemba the last game. It was much better than Alfense or Kemba Iso.

    • Rzo Vlade

people……when games between east vs west root for west to win so standing in east conf are close…….if vs rox and lakers root for east harharhar!

    • cdblue10

Prolly that’s the first game when Al was doing the post up most of the time.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

I don’t want Lin to go anywhere but Charlotte with their wonderful fans and his excellent teammates; not to mention his coach. Lin could win a championship with this Hornets team. All they need to do is to play like or even better than the last game.

    • Michael

Probably not the most ideal place for deep sleepers, like some who don’t even wake up during an earthquake.

    • cdblue10

I hope Al and Lin can spent some time on the court too because Al is such a decent shooter from the mid range…it’s a good recipe for PnR or PnP plays,it seems coach Cliff haven’t explored this option yet.

    • sws94

A few times Lin found him down low when Lin dribble penetrated. In a preseason game when Lin started, it was throw it down to Al and he played the post-up game.

No, I think Clifford meant mostly for Kemba and some for Lin. This is Kemba’s team.

    • KHuang

      Speak for yourself.

      I don’t trash Lin’s game, you do.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep I know. I was clueless international student then as we weren’t warned about these things. Yes I did know what tornado was but wasn’t told what to do when you heard the siren. After that experience, I always paid attention to the weather and listened to radio or turned on TV when I saw the sky turned ugly:-) One of the price of staying in TX and OK for over 12 years:-)

    • KHuang

      No defense, no running.

That’s an issue for the starters, not the super effective Charlotte bench.

    • blubell

      😛

    • KHuang

      SOooooo,

would you guys prefer Jeremy to start or come off the bench?

Personally, I like Lamb off the bench.

    • Michael

I think Al isn’t used to playing pnr so when he rolls to the basket it’s not at an easy angle for the guards to make a pass. And when the passes come, he isn’t ready for them. Another major disadvantage, unlike Tyson, D12 or Ed Davis, he doesn’t play above the rim. All that’s left is the pick and pop, and we’ve seen what that is like with Jordan Hill. No rebounding and chucking long 2’s. So still waiting for something to happen there.

    • Rzo Vlade

      which jeremy?

    • Michael

      Jeremy Limb.

    • cdblue10

      Is that a hybrid?

    • KHuang

I like the two Jeremys together.

      I don’t think so.

Jeremy Lamb is too fundamentally sound and too well coached and too team oriented to turn into another James Harden.

    • blubell

Both Lin and Lamb to start! Lamb can help JLin spread the floor cause he’s a scoring threat, more dangerous than Kemba and Batum.

We had a swarm of 200 small quakes per day the pass week or two but I could feel only about three of them per day, heavy sleepers may not notice it but the big ones will knock you off the bed. I’ll take earthquakes anytime if its between tornadoes and earthquakes.

whoever shoots more will win the game, both team doesn’t play D

    • IsabeliJane*17

Whoever can outshoot the other will win this game

    • blubell
    • Joe what do you know

Sigh…. Where’s the free flow offence and good D from the last game?

    • NONONO

Compare Lin,Walker vs Mavericks D. Williams, D. Harris 2015-2016 season and check PTS, ORtg, DRtg on “Per 100 Poss” section. You know Lin would have been the best if he had the same play time as others.

    • GoodDayLA

its Lin’s job to create score separation off the bench. He wins for the team and cements his own status. Win win. Please start doing it!

    • linfan

Is there a way to make this scroll automatically rather than always clicking for new comments?

    • John Focker

      On the bench.

    • Michael

      Having a kid helps.

    • blubell
    • Riddick

On the bench waiting to be unleashed!

    • John Focker

This is why the game’s not flowing: Alfense instead of team offense.

    • JLin is waiting to check in

    • Wayne Li

So far, Mavs guard D Williams beats JLin badly: 6 to 0 in points, 3 to 0 in assists.

    • NONONO

      Walker cannot guard D. W.

    • NONONO

      ? what?

    • sport

      The Jeremys…are in!!

    • IsabeliJane*17

      Sendoh Lin in.

    • Alain Gervais

      datum not passing the ball

    • Joe what do you know

He gets faked by Zaza multiple times already…. Just can’t plant his feet on the ground…

    • stam

so batum is the point guard but at least he’s scoring.

    • NONONO

      Batum play PG?

    • Joe what do you know

      Batum in Harden mode….

    • JJ Hui

      Batum not passing to Lin?

    • cdblue10

      nice J

    • stam

      2 for lin shooting!

    • JJ Hui

      Yes Lin!

    • spiderman

      Unleash Kaminsky and Hanbrough too!

    • NONONO

I think Batum see Lin is the last option

    • Alain Gervais

Datum was straight hero ballin out there

    • stam

      I agree.

    • sport

Lin with his first mid jumper good!

    • John Focker

Not necessarily, he just sees himself as first option.

    • stam

Coach needs to put an end.. the thing is batum is scoring.

    • cdblue10

      100 % so far

    • Briiick

Lin plays with patience and a determined 2.

    • sport

Selfish playing by Batum, even more than Walker!

    • Riddick

He was in a 1 man team mode and couldn’t seem to get out of the loopy doop.

    • Alain Gervais

Seem like he couldn’t get the ball with the starters in

    • NONONO

Great. Lin has 0/4 pts last game and 2/3 on 3 pts

    • stam

Walker doesn’t seem that selfish to me, he passes to lin unlike batum

    • NONONO

      0/4 on 2 pts

    • MoominFloren

      Shoot first shoot second pg….

    • CaliUSMC

      huh

    • sws94

??? 0/4 means missed 4 shots as I read it.

    • sport

So he hogs the ball for last 2 minutes knowing he’ll be benched soon. Won’t mind if he leaves Hornets after his 1 year rental. =/

    • cdblue10

The Jeremies on the scoring board

    • CaliUSMC

      Lamb is ballin man..

    • MoominFloren

No, everyone else is his last option

    • Dorothy

      222222222222

    • CaliUSMC

      Nice layup by LiN!

    • JLin the pickpocket and reverse layup!!

    • sport

Is Batum the one insisting on playing SG or the coach? He must be dreaming if thinks he can play SG at this point in his career.

    • John Focker

The Jeremys pulling the game away from Mavs.

    • JJ Hui

      Lin steal! And scored!

    • cdblue10

pick pocket by Lin,you’re a bad boy

    • NONONO

      on 2pts shots

    • Michael

My feed is delayed, stop with the spoilers.

    • Joe what do you know

      Strip!!

    • stam

was that lamb with the defense?

    • spiderman

      steal ball from shorty:)

    • NONONO

GLAD lin is taking charge whenever he has a chance.

    • Dorothy

      Lin missed WIDE OPEN 3

    • your son’s voltaire

Hawes should have passed that to Lin on the transition

    • stam

      NICE Assist from jlin

    • CaliUSMC

Good assist to Zeller for the easy duNk

    • cdblue10

They’re too preoccupied with Lin…lol.Carlisle didn’t change at all.

    • NONONO

Lin shoot 3 pts off screen better than open. that is what i see.

    • Alain Gervais

      Brian roberts in

    • NONONO

      Big guys bad!

    • Papillon

Lin hesitated on that open 3. Double clutched. Should just let it fly.

    • your son’s voltaire

Lin called off the top of the backboard!

    • CaliUSMC

      Hornets 1/10 on 3pointers.

    • 2nd unit is killing the Mavs!

    • CaliUSMC

Good take by Marvin. That was stroNg

    • cdblue10

Mavs are just too slow against Hornets, are we looking for another blow out?

    • stam

why does lin only have 1 assist?

    • NONONO

      Look Lin’s PACE!!

    • Alain Gervais

      Second unit is a beast

    • sws94

NOw, that’s the PG Lin that I want to see. YES! His shot looks a bit off but he’s playing well.

    • spiderman

      lamb starting to cook!

    • your son’s voltaire

      didn’t Lin hit two 3’s? yahoo’s scoreboard shows 0/2 on 3’s

    • Michael

      Roasted!

    • sws94

      Lamb playing well.

    • Alain Gervais

And seemingly it doesn’t matter. Shows the talent

    • NONONO

Mavericks are old. they cannot handle Lin’s fast pace. Give LIN 30+ mins!!!

    • stam

no he missed 2 3’s but i thought he has more than 1 assist.

    • Alain Gervais

      nope missed both

    • cdblue10

This game is Gimmies for Jeremies

    • Rick Johnson

      That’s fine keep shooting.

    • JJ Hui

You forgot Lin needs time to warm up! Be patient and he will do well!

    • zxcvb

Lin doing great. Wish he hit that first 3! Love the confidence in his jumper.

    • Papillon

Thought he could’ve been credited with at least 3 assists.

    • Briiick

As KHuang predicted, Hornets’ second unit forces the opponent to put Dirk on the floor and are still blowing them, led by general Lin.

    • Joe what do you know

I don’t know…. If I’m Cuban and seeing the team I invested so much money in playing like this… I’ll be blowing my own head off…

    • stam

      yeah thats what I thought i saw…

    • sport

I like Lamb’s playing style when he’s given the ball he doesn’t dribble, dribble, and dribble. Lamb scores right away when he’s open but doesn’t play selfish since he’s not hogging the ball.

    • golfhacker

      What are you watching?

    • Brent Yen

CUBAN is no human…otherwise……it would happen a long time ago .lol

    • NONONO

Scott would take Lin out when he is hot! Not Clifford please!

    • your son’s voltaire

lol dunno anymore. got a lot of fantasy players today im checking up on

    • Papillon

3-point shots not falling for the Hornets today; 1/10 so far. But good rotations and hard shows on the defense.

    • NONONO

      Does this count as ast?

    • golfhacker

It’s ok. They’re getting good looks.

    • stam

what kind of offenseive foul was that what the h***!

    • CaliUSMC

      Phantom call…

    • stam

that phantom foul really messed up the rhythm

    • zxcvb

Hornets playing selfish again. Awful play by Hawes .

    • NONONO

Lin , do not pass unless you do not have score chance!!!!!

    • Wayne Li

Why Cliff replaced Cody with Roberts?

    • Joe what do you know

Hope Lamb stays humbled and grounded. He has tendency to go for wacky shots when he forgets he’s still human.

    • stam

      foul trouble.

    • Alain Gervais

      Mavs went really small

    • cdblue10

Hawes and Lamb are trying to win this game, forcing d issue is not always a good idea buds

    • sws94

Unfortunately it goes as a TO.

    • sport

Hornets 2nd unit starting to brick, Lin needs to start taking shots after this time out!

    • spiderman

      need Kaminsky and Hansbrough

    • stam

I think lin is suppose to have around 2-3 assists.

    • NONONO

Put walker on to play with Lin!!!!

    • sport

      Those forced shots were ugly!!

    • zxcvb

Basketball is a game of runs. CHA needs to trust Lin instead of Hawes and Lamb acting like stars.

    • sws94

      Yes.

    • Rzo Vlade

      wheres frank

    • IsabeliJane*17

Put JLin as SG for this game.

    • sws94

That hook shot is ugly. He should have passed it to Lin who was open.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

that’s the problem, you make them adjust to you not the other way arround

    • NONONO

I hope that is why coach take time out

    • sport

But Lin’s getting to play PG and handle the ball right now with Walker in he won’t.

    • Interesting, JLin stayed in to close Q2, maybe?

    • stam

walker in with lin but i think they will take lin out soon.

    • sport

Starters with Lin now, finally the “real starting lineup” is in!

    • NONONO

Because Li is the best so far

    • Brent Yen

      Jet Li?

    • Alain Gervais

      Datum takes horrible shots

    • stam

that guy stuck his leg out to trip lin

    • zxcvb

More phantom fouls on Lin. Defending while Asian.

    • spiderman

      someone’s getting paid

    • IsabeliJane*17

Refs freakin’ don’t know how to ref

    • Alain Gervais

      no look like a foul

    • zxcvb

Should be a moving pick. Foul on Matthews.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

should be offensive found on Mathew

    • cdblue10

IF THEY COUNT THIS,this refs needs to check their eyes

    • spiderman

      Datum sure does

    • Wayne Li

Bench player with 2 fouls are not considered foul trouble, besides, Cody will be not used to close the game anyways.

    • Joe what do you know

Def moving pick… But will the ref call it?

    • Dorothy

      Lin out

    • stam

yeah refs are rigging this game.

    • MorlockO

Every games Lin’s minutes kept going down…. 🙁

    • Dorothy

      Lin 2 fouls

    • NONONO

      WOW. refs

    • zxcvb

BS foul to take away Lin’s jumper. BS foul to get him outta the game.

    • Wayne Li

So far, Cliff was out coached by Carlisle.

    • Lam

Why do you call him Datum? Something to do with his D?

    • cdblue10

      hahahaha…Airston

    • stam

yeah absolutely, i wish there was a way to report these guys

    • sport

Refs on the Mavs team this game.

    • NONONO

      AIR

    • zxcvb

Refs desperate to give this game to the home team. Asian guy is always the best target — no one cares.

    • MorlockO

      LOL yup keep playing airston!!

    • IsabeliJane*17

Freakin’ Al Jeff letting Powell blow by.

    • wow, 1-13 3p shooting

    • Briiick

Dirk was on the floor against Hornets’ 2nd unit, wow.

    • cdblue10

They’re playing good basketball until Lamb and Hawes trying to win the game right away.

    • JJ Hui

I saw Batum is kind of selfish, not only he doesn’t pass, he is the PG too!? What’s wrong?

    • Papillon

Al Jeff would let Powell’s mom blow by.

    • NONONO

Mavericks are old and tired (they played last night?). We need push fast.

    • zxcvb

I said before the season that REFS were Lin’s biggest opponent. So far, I’m right. Refs trying everything to stop Lin 3 out of 5 games.

    • Joe what do you know

Cuban just brought the new franchise cornerstones in to Dallas… And they are all in grey shirts and black long trousers…

    • MorlockO

      1-14 3pt

    • Rzo Vlade

it was roberts kaminsky should been the one replace cody

    • Lx

Batum was good in portland, but he’s causing more harm than good on this team.

    • cshot

are you serious? how does lin have 2 fouls?

    • MorlockO

finally got a 3pt shot in

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Taking Lin away and putting Robert on Berea changed everything.

    • Briiick

He’s got a license to pad in this team.

    • zxcvb

…on Matthews. Obvious moving pick. Even a middle school ref can see that. But in the NBA refs’ mind, there’s no way an Asian guy can defend a black player.

    • Wayne Li

Carlisle is one of few coaches has my respect.

    • sws94

      Refs making 2 bad calls.

    • sport

1 bs offensive foul and 1 personal foul.

    • Alain Gervais

At this rate Lin will average 25 MPG

    • cshot

it sucks being asian in the league and getting called for fouls for everything

    • cdblue10

Kaminsky always play the right way.I like him a lot

    • MorlockO

doubt it, more like 22-23 mins

    • sws94

I think he should close the quarter, PJ Hairston isn’t doing anything. Unless Cliff doesn’t want him to get another foul. But he has 2, not 3.

    • cdblue10

I cringed everytime Hawes have the ball

    • NONONO

      13.3% 3pts.

    • Joe what do you know

Just wait, ya’ll see the refs score 60 on Hornets for the Mavs…

    • Alain Gervais

At this point it look like Lin won’t finish second quarters

    • chronoshifter

i wish we had another angle to see the alleged offensive foul. didn’t look like it to me from the angle televised.

    • sport

      Refs for the win.

    • sport

Didn’t look like it as well but Lin has this habit of pushing the defender a little with his off hand and refs nit pick on that quite often.

    • golfhacker

      Ah, got it!

    • GoodDayLA

Lin 10 minutes.. On pace for 22 MPG.

    • Alain Gervais

Putting roberts in really killed all the bench rhythm

    • Lx

Yeah he seems like an inconsistent player. Some games he barely makes any mistakes and other games his poor performance disrupts the team’s game.

    • GoodDayLA

you don’t know better than the Coach. Clifford is the Big Kahuna on this site.

    • zxcvb

This is the problem with Clifford not starting Lin. If he plays aggressive, racial reffing will allow only 20-24mpg.

    • Joe what do you know

Yep, ref for the MVP… Most Vile Prique

    • stam

Lin cannot win against the racial bias from the refs

    • sport

Lin needs to get respect as a starter. He won’t become an all-star off the bench.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Sorry coach but the unit was doing great and you just changed the rotation EF everything up.

    • NONONO

      No Lamb, no lin?

    • Alain Gervais

TBH i don’t remember if it was because Mavs went small. If thats the case its just a smart move by MAVs coach

    • your son’s voltaire

      did he block that?

    • Alain Gervais

      I think

    • GoodDayLA

why don’t Lin fans make videos of this “racial bias” and embarrass the NBA? We have 2 Lin fan sites and many Lin fans and nobody does this.

    • MorlockO

      yup

    • orLinaryjoe

      Lin for the block!

    • NONONO

WHY NOT LET LIN handle the ball?

    • stam

he blocked it but not sure if time was expired.

    • Alain Gervais

yea stats gave him a block

    • Great block by Lin on Wes

    • Rzo Vlade

      block yesss

    • cshot

      BLOCKED

    • zxcvb

Destroyed his weak butt, lol. Lin manhandles chumps like Wes unless they flop and cry like babies. Even CP3 cries when Lin stuffs him.

    • sport

      It counted! 🙂

    • stam

time expired i think. they wouldn’t give it to him since they already took 2 assists from him.

    • CaliUSMC

      they gave it to him. 4pts / 1 ast / 1 stl / 1 block

    • Rick Johnson

Was there any interaction between Lin and Parsons before the game?

    • sport

      It still counted!

    • GoodDayLA

      PJ 14 minutes; Lin 10.

Someone said no way Lin doesn’t get 30 MPG. Ok.

      Nic 18 minutes already.

    • your son’s voltaire

cus coach is average at best. can’t see how valuable Lin is at the PG position

    • stam

      Yes!

    • zxcvb

“You hate Harden and McHale right?”
      “Yep.”

    • sws94

Not great rotations by Cliff. No need to bring in Roberts for Zeller. If Zeller needed a breather, bring in Kam. Hairston seemed to be in there to absorb fouls but would have been better using Lin until he got another foul. Lin spreads the defense more than Hairston.

    • NONONO

Entire league knows Walker would take that final shoot

    • zxcvb

      That’s because of fouls/reffing.

    • cdblue10

Lin is bigger, faster and more adept on making split decision.I don’t know why he doesn’t get the ball on these situations.

    • GoodDayLA

just excuses. he only has 2 fouls.

    • sws94

I think Kemba has better handles but he doesn’t finish like Lin. The play could have gone for Kemba to get it to Lin to drive in.

    • sport

Same question of why he’s not the starter on this team?

    • Lx

I thought this was going to be a blown out game like the bulls game. The bulls are way better than the Mavs.

    • zxcvb

Learn basketball. Even Curry sits with 2 first half fouls.

    • Rzo Vlade
    • GoodDayLA

he is not the star but backup asian Kato of the Hornets. I don’t mean to be negative but why can’t we all face the reality of what he is dealing with?

    • Alain Gervais

Usually its 3 fouls for not playing the 2nd quarter but he was taken out right after that. TBH I’m getting bothered by the minutes Lin is playing

    • sws94

They aren’t shooting the 3s well. That’s the difference. Plus Dallas is playing better on O.

    • MorlockO

2 fouls in first quarter yes your will be taken out, not in 2nd quarter.

    • CJSHYY

Did they play the same way like vs Bulls?

    • LW

      And >50% chance miss.

    • Riddick

Hornet players tend to have brain farts and revert to their old losing ways.

    • zxcvb

3 only if you get 2 1Q fouls. Lin closes games so he should be saved the 4Q.

    • sws94

Can you try not to be as negative as you sometimes are? I know this isn’t ideal but it is way better than last season.

    • GoodDayLA

as I said expect it to take 15 games. Maybe 5-8 more rather than 15. but its a work in progress. I don’t like Lin’s role here so far. It’s less powerful than 2nd half of Laker season usage.

    • NONONO

Entire league knows Walker would take that final shoot and 0% intention to pass as he did in the ATL two games and FAILED!

    • cdblue10

      I know,just smh

    • Lx

Not really, but the Hornets had a 10 point lead on the Mavs and then it was gone.

    • MorlockO

no, where do you get that? lol

    • heart

The lead was lost when Batum played isos. He hardly passed to Lin. Thus took everybody on the floor out of rhythm. He then passed to Hawes or Lamb not at their sweet spots to make basket. Everyone was panicking and the defense was next to none. Lin hardly got touches in that stretch.

    • Lin

Lin buddy Parsons will play next half

    • Alain Gervais

Idk what Cliff philosophy.Maybe it is for him but I’ve seen him play with 2 on houston. Also why he come back for the last play??

    • Michael

Why is Arnold Schwarzenegger doing the halftime commentary?

    • zxcvb

No one is saying he’s being maximized like Curry. Just saying that Clifford didn’t bench him for no reason. 2 quick fouls where refs were going after him. I would have done the same, knowing Lin excels in the 4th.

    • CJSHYY

Just like old days… one good game then change back to old style again.

    • GoodDayLA

cdblue is complaining why Lin is not getting ball to be star. I answered. And instead of facing reality, you call me negative instead of acknowledging Lin’s reality. Nothing Lin can do about it if coach won’t give him the ball.

    • Lx

      ahh bromance 🙂

    • Riddick

      It’s in Arny’s bucket list?

    • MorlockO

hairston got 2 fouls and was not taken out lol. only after 3 fouls before he got taken out.

    • Alain Gervais

      “Pause”

    • sws94

OK, it was that he got 2 so quickly that influenced Cliff.

    • LW

That sounds like the first three games.

    • GoodDayLA

cd blue asking why Lin don’t get ball over Nic and Kemba. Just pointing out the obvious.

    • MorlockO

learn basketball, hairston got 2 fouls in 2 quarter but still stayed in game. only after 3rd foul before he was taken out.

    • Briiick

Yeah, I noticed it too. Batum definitely is not unselfish.

    • zxcvb

He’s a scrub who doesn’t play crunch time. Curry got 2 fouls last game and sat for 10m.

    • cdblue10

Sometimes I really question if you’re really a fan or not…just being inquisitive

    • NONONO

you meand “I (old style play) would be BACK?

    • sws94

Lin’s having a good game. If it weren’t for those stupid 2 fouls called on him he would have finished the half.

    • MorlockO

yeah a scrub that plays more minutes that lin lol!

    • Lx

It seems Batum’s stats are more important than the team, maybe.

    • sws94

He doesn’t see how he’s over the top so much.

    • GoodDayLA

you are being ridiculous if you think Lin will get the ball and frustrate yourself over it. THat’s all I’m trying to point out.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

When the Hornets expressed interest in Lin he should have said ok you don’t have to start me but you gotta play me 30 minutes. I hate the way he’s used so sparingly.

    • zxcvb

      Hairston: 19.5mpg Lin: 23.5mpg

      You were saying, LOL.

    • cdblue10

I’m not frustrated,I’m just giving my observations on the game.Am I not allowed to do that?

    • MorlockO

      I’m saying this game lol.

    • GoodDayLA

again deflecting. cdblue wants Lin to be the go to man. Respond to that instead of me.

    • Alain Gervais

Its only 1 year deal. If it continues like this it maybe 1 and done for him

    • sws94

Hairston doesn’t play more minutes than Lin.

    • MoominFloren

Batum is becoming the most selfish player in this team.

    • Alain Gervais

What i hate is how long i have to wait to see Lin. Starters offense clearly sub par

    • GoodDayLA

why don’t Lin fans make videos of this “racial bias” and embarrass the NBA? We have 2 Lin fan sites and many Lin fans and nobody does this.

    • Dan Cohen

      well 2 fouls..
I know hairy got 3 fouls and still plays..but then
if you have an important player..do you want to risk him to foul out early?

    • Joe what do you know

      Yep. He’s gonna PENETRATE… for 15 min only…

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I’m not getting younger Alain 🙂

    • CJSHYY

It’s his contract year so stats is more important than anything… I guess he maybe will test the market before he makes his decision.

    • NONONO

Lin is rental. So i think they would not let him take the charge unless the team is falling.

    • Alain Gervais

      LOL

    • Alain Gervais

      YEA

    • GoodDayLA

his usage is way too low. Clifford said it would be like NYC. This isn’t even as big as Houston and Lakers 2nd half season usage.

    • Dan Cohen

      hahaha you
sound like how russel peter was talking about his mom ot get girl..
‘russell, you are not getting any younger now…’

    • Hope

I thought Linn made a three?

    • Dorothy

maybe they don’t want Lin to shine unless they are loosing, so that they can sign him back cheaply

    • GoodDayLA

well Khuang and I know why he doesn’t get the ball. You can continue to act as if you do not know.

    • zxcvb

Game isn’t over “lol.” Basketball has 4 quarters. Look it up!

Lin will sign with the mavs next season.

    • NONONO

      EXACTLY

    • Riddick

I get a lot done during the wait tho, but I’d like to see him play mo.

    • Dorothy

but they are willing to let Batum to shine

    • Alain Gervais

      Nope. Missed both

    • kauaiblue

      Hows it going? Not good?

    • GoodDayLA

they won’t let him take charge. Ever. Period.

    • Alain Gervais

Not enough minutes. Starters look worse then the bench. Just a blahhhh game

    • cdblue10

      Just about right.

    • GoodDayLA

Lin wil be showcased as backup PG on this team and media and Hornets PR will talk very nice about him.

    • zxcvb

Lin playing well. Refs taking away buckets and calling fake fouls.

    • Joe what do you know

      And PNR with ZaZa…?

    • Riddick

I sure hope not…too paron focused.

    • NONONO

Because they has a sport for him – PF after MKG is back.

    • Lx

Every time he goes for the 3 I get really happy, but if he misses I cry. Idk why…

You are getting very negative in each of your posts. Please refrain from doing so.

    • kauaiblue

Ehhh… why does this keep happening? Just play the man and give him a chance to lead… why is everyone so afraid or reluctant to give him a chance to rock?

    • GoodDayLA

fair request. I think this site is more of the uplifting nature rather than the harsh talk on the other one. i’ll try to keep it there.

    • Dorothy

      Parson in

    • Lx

Mavs screwed over Lin, I doubt he would ever consider any of their offers.

    • NONONO

      NO PnP, too many ISOs.

    • heart

Batum needs to do what he preaches, that is to playing unselfishly, passing the ball to his open teammates. Noticed that he seems to demand the ball at the most crucial time. Lin could either have make a fast break down the lane straight to the basket or make plays to pass to open 3 man. I hope Lin gets more assertive.

    • GoodDayLA

      ok

    • Alain Gervais

Im not a scientist bro lol

    • Briiick

If the coach gives a license to one player to play selfishly and also gives him a bodyguard to reduce his defense load, he can’t ask other players to defend hard and play unselfishly. That’s the problem for the first 3 games and now I guess.

    • kauaiblue

      Shucks!

    • Steppen03

      Hellooo Fellow Lin fans =)
I don’t like it BUT it does MAKE SENSE to sit Lin with 2 Fouls. Still have 3rd & 4th to play- plenty time to make an impact!!!
And ITS A VERY LONG SEASON. For me personally, I like to think it this way: JL7 sits not because he is a “backup” BUT The Most Important Piece on the team (no one can replace Kemba if he’s not available).
I have No problem whatsoever. If the team is losing and Lin didn’t get his minutes THEN I will have a big issue.

    • zxcvb

Race. Refs, coaches, GMs, teammates don’t believe an Asian can ball. They don’t even think white players can be elite anymore!

And to be fair, can you imagine Asian/Jewish scientists and mathematicians trusting young black professionals to lead in their field? Probably not. #realtalk

    • MorlockO

Lin barely plays the 3rd quarter, usually 2-3 mins max… you don’t need 4 fouls in the 4th quarter… lin isn’t that foul prone.

    • stam

I don’t understand Al jeffereson’s defense is way more of a liability than his strength on offense , plus it gets stagnant with his post ups

    • grover chang

Big Al! What are you cooking? Hot like Lin shu.

    • your son’s voltaire

they put him back in for defense with 22 seconds left in the half even with the 2 fouls. doesn’t compute

    • TTNN

      PJ had 3 fouls

    • kauaiblue

Im befinning to really think it is race!! No other explanation… go mavs!

    • your son’s voltaire

      so, PJ has 4 fouls

    • kauaiblue

Sorry guys, i hope this is no too negative here… but im rooting for mavs until jlin comes in…

    • Rzo Vlade

      bye hairston

    • Lx

Good thing the Hornets aren’t turning the ball over that much, but they need to step up their defense.

    • cdblue10

      Nice shot Williams

    • NONONO

before 6 mins mark, if Hornets not win much, they better put Lin in.

    • stam

      Nice TO save

    • Joe what do you know

He doesn’t violate the rules much but it really depends on the refs, if they feel GENEROUS on the day they’ll give him all you can foul buffet…

    • kauaiblue

      Parsons sux

    • Lx

That’s good. You are jinxing the Mavs. Now the Hornets are definitely going to win. <333 ty

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      Enter the Lin (already) !

    • Alain Gervais

      4 more minutes

    • stam

yeah PJ has 4 fouls already

    • kauaiblue

      Lol

    • stam

      walker playing well.

    • MorlockO

when was the last time lin fouled out in a game? doubt he fouled out in the last 3 years.

    • sws94

To be fair, the refs are just calling a lot of fouls against Charlotte.

    • cdblue10

      Nice cross there by Kemba

    • MorlockO

      why is that fair? lol

    • kauaiblue

      Jeremy shoulda gone to mvs?

    • Dorothy

      agree, that goes Lin’s PT

    • zxcvb

They were in the first half…

    • Lx

      oh god no…

    • Michael

      Not the way parsons playing.,

    • stam

I think jeremy is happy at charlotte just wished they played him more.

    • sws94

It’s not only Lin getting the bad calls against him.

    • NONONO

      Mavericks fans are bored.

    • IsabeliJane*17

      Imo, better with Hornets.

    • Lx

They will be happy once Lin comes back in

    • sws94

Kemba looks good this game. When he isn’t over-shooting, he’s not bad.

    • NONONO

I think Mavericks old legs are taking tolls. Put Lin in to RUN

    • zxcvb

Al scoring a ton. Hopefully they can trade him ASAP once they pump up his stats.

    • your son’s voltaire

      Lin has new shoes?

    • stam

jefferson didn’t even put his hands up?

    • Dorothy

no, I think they like him

    • Lx

Before pre-season, I didn’t expect Kemba to play this well. I also had high hopes for batum, but he turns out to be bad for the team.

    • zxcvb

      I don’t think so. He’s an expiring contract and doesn’t fit long-term.

    • kauaiblue

Jeremy for 8th man of the year!

    • Dorothy

      Most benches in except Lin

    • stam

uhh didn’t that look like an offensive foul to me?

    • your son’s voltaire

LIn was about to check in but Lamb checked in instead?

    • Steppen03

I’m ALL in for this Hornets team. Go, Hornets!! Lin will get his PT, no worries… The MOST Important thing IS: The STARTERS have to play well. I Don’t Want Lin to save their behinds – That’s NOT very good basketball – And Not a very good team.

    • cshot

why is lin still not in…

    • Papillon

      Marvin Williams has been beasting.

    • IsabeliJane*17

It’s pathetic how Al Jefferson is the first option in scoring (starters). Whatever he scores, he gives up on defense.

    • Lx

The starters did pretty well this game. They got the lead back again.

    • NONONO

Lin avg 23mins. it would be less today?

    • zxcvb

Lin should have permission NOT to play defense in the first half. That’s 2 out of 5 games already where BS fouls limited his 1st half minutes.

    • stam

lin isn’t even going to get 22 mins at this rate.

    • zxcvb

      oops, wrong reply!

    • Papillon

Lin checking in after the timeout. Should play out the rest of the game. 24mn today

    • NONONO

So, i do not think is the faults keep Lin out. Is the margin of scores

    • stam

      I hope you are right

    • sws94

Batum plays well and poorly in stretches. He’s made some really good passes and made good decisions at times and at other times, missed guys and took the shot too much himself. He’s that way on defense too. Sometimes he’s good, sometimes not.

    • zxcvb

People want to be gloom and doom, but the truth is that fouls are the culprit.

It was BS reffing, but even if you want to blame Lin, it’s not nefarious lies by Clifford.

    • Promo Sports World

It’s going be a tough season for us fans…but the “new” reality we have to face and just adjust expectations for mins played

    • Rzo Vlade

told you its better to be back up of contending team than a trash team

    • zxcvb

      H*** no. That’s the worst. 15mpg, tops.

    • stam

      Al jefferson on fire though!

    • Rzo Vlade

      lol same minutes bruh

    • Rick Johnson

So much for Parsons as Point Forward.

    • Lx

Lol this team is not trash. There are many talented players on this team. The coach just needs to bench some players and change the lineups.

    • Steppen03

I’m NOT concerned about JL7’s minutes at this point IF the team out there is doing good. JL7 will get his PT .

    • zxcvb

LOL, no. 25mpg even now…more w/o foul trouble.

    • sport

Batum is a surprise, didn’t think I’d like Kemba over selfish Batum. Wish Hornets didn’t get him then Lin would be starting!

    • Promo Sports World

I don’t think the offers were coming in like that

    • your son’s voltaire

forget Hawes when he’s calling for the ball like that. it’s a TO waiting to happen

    • Rzo Vlade

lol aint going nowhere lol 8th seed at best

    • NONONO

I should get 50% discount from LP if they Lin only play less than 28 mins.

    • Lx

      Thats the Cavs spot.

    • NONONO

Do you see Batum never look Lin’s side,?

    • kauaiblue

      Dont like batum

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      sit too long. Cold hands

      ;;;

    • your son’s voltaire

Lin needs to learn how to play with swag and confidence like Curry

    • Promo Sports World

      That’s never been him

    • cdblue10

He got good looks, not just making his shots.

    • Alain Gervais

We’ve allowed dallas to make this game ugly so thats what it will be.

    • stam

he looks a bit hesitant but at least he’s shooting, once he gets hot he will get a few baskets in.

    • zxcvb

Easy. Play him 34-38mpg and run every play for him and make refs give him every 50/50 call.

Even Curry misses 4-5 shots in a row. He was 4-12 last night until a hot streak.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

This system is not his style, too slow and dribbling.

    • sws94

He’s played with plenty of swag, especially as a Rocket.

    • Riddick

He will as soon as he gets a longer leash. smh

    • your son’s voltaire

he was playing like that in preseason but now he’s worried about losing minutes

    • Rzo Vlade

      lol

    • golfhacker

      Uh, Linsanity?

    • Lx

Houston and lakers destroyed Lin’s confidence, but Lin still manage to play at a high level.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

This is too old school offense. everyone freeze out

    • NONONO

It is hard to have hot hands when you sit 20 mins.

    • Alain Gervais

Its just not in rhythm. this game will be ugly. Dallas made it that way. We will see if this team can win ugly

    • your son’s voltaire

yeah. he’s more skilled now, just missing the swag and confidence

    • sws94

Charlotte as a team aren’t hitting their shots, Lin included.

    • cshot

batum kills lins playing style.. he tries to be the playmaker and leaves lin in the corner begging for the ball lol

    • Promo Sports World

Comparing to the MVP is not fair compare to preseason

    • Hope

Is this jeremylin.net? I have to double check. Linn plays well. Wth are u talking about?

    • Alain Gervais

He actually did better that time

    • sws94

He was fine in the first half. He needs more touches. Either Lin or Batum should bring the ball up, not Lamb or Hawes.

    • NONONO

It is hard to believe Lin’s avg play time could be the lowest ever.

    • cshot

that was probably the first time I’ve seen batum pass it to lin lol

    • Lx

Yeah some of the posters over there don’t know what they are saying sometimes.

    • JJ Hui

      He is lazy!

    • zxcvb

Hard to believe Anthony Davis is trash. 5 bad games.

    • heart

When Lin got close to the basket w/Bareera in front of him I wished he shot the ball instead of dribbling. That’s where most of turnovers are made–in close space. Hopefully that’s the last turnover he has for this game.

    • sport

Except Batum looks like a ball hog out there cause he can’t playmake nor handle the ball yet he’s playing SG.

    • stam

that is not an offensive foul ?

    • your son’s voltaire

the refs tonight must be the Lin hater crew

    • Lx

      FOUL!!

    • stam

      Almost every night.

    • zxcvb

LOL, Lin haters. Lin in a “bad game” destroying the Mavs w/o breaking a sweat.

    • cdblue10

      that’s so obvious.

    • cdblue10

give him the ball and some good things happen

    • sws94

SO Lin gets barrelled into and there’s no foul call? Come on.

    • Promo Sports World

Jeremy is playing fine….shots fall everyone happy…

    • Alain Gervais

Bench just easily blow them out it would or should be over

    • sws94

      He’s playing very well.

    • stam

I feel like he’s been getting fouled by refs not calling it.

    • zxcvb

Every game. If he touches another player, it’s foul.

    • heart

It seems like when he plays in TX, especially in Dallas, the refs swallow their whistles on him.

    • zxcvb

Had a shot taken away by flopping/reffing.

    • sws94

      He’s playing very well. Period.

    • sport

Will Lin get his 16 pts today?

    • JJ Hui

It is better keep it to yourself then and no need to say sorry! Lol!

    • cshot

Parsons probably going to tease Jeremy about that lol! He ran over him completely and still got away with the foul

    • Papillon

He should feel fortunate he didn’t get called for the foul! /sarcasm

    • cshot

don’t think so. i see around 10 lol

    • cdblue10

NO but I’ll take the win

    • Lx

      40 lets go LIN!!

    • Kwok Wai Lai

You have to hand it the Clifford; he is giving optimum minutes to players. They play to win.
Once the bench gets more minutes, they become more efficient.

    • cdblue10

      what the heck

    • Promo Sports World

Bench minutes bout even….can’t be too high or low

    • Lx

      Harris, Lin will destroy you…

    • 808JLinBuzzzz

      Awesome handles JLin.

    • JJ Hui

Yeah to save Lin’s body for the whole season !

    • cdblue10

      hahahha foul from Zeller

    • 808JLinBuzzzz

Bs call. Feet didn’t move ref.

    • Alain Gervais

      refs just against us todayR

    • cdblue10

      These refs are crazy

    • MorlockO

Ref really sucks today… sooo bad

    • stam

what kind of bullshit is that… on lin its so messed up

    • MorlockO

    • MorlockO

      put in kaminsky please!

    • cdblue10

This sux… whats with that devon harris ceep?

    • NONONO

Lin should attack the rim fast!!!

      Zeller is so tough.

    • stam

LOL did you see Lin’s look?

    • zxcvb

      BOOM. DALLAS B*TCHES. CHEAT THAT.

    • NONONO

      WOW

    • NONONO

      GOOD LIN. attack!!!!!

    • Lx

    • stam

They have lin and zeller’s back, they fighting hard now.

    • zxcvb

This is what makes Lin special — he destroys team with defense and playmaking.

Doesn’t even need to score to take over. Like J-Kidd.

    • NONONO

Lin is smiling on the line

    • cdblue10

    • 808JLinBuzzzz

      JLin and 1

    • kauaiblue

      Jeremy looks slower… what happened?

    • LW

OK, Lin is shutting the door on Dallas.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

There is no ego in this team. They just take turns pounding the enemy.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Kill the Mavs

    • Michael

Thanks for the bushleague defense Harris ^^

    • NONONO

      Lin attacks, things change.

    • IsabeliJane*17

HAHAHAHAHA that’s how Jeremy plays. No need for cockiness. Let his game speak for himself.

    • cdblue10

NEVER PASS IT TO HAWES WHEN HE’S ASKING FOR IT LIKE THAT

    • sport

Now Lamb’s smiling too after that swooshing 3 lol. I like Lamb he either shoots right away or passes no wasting clock.

    • Alain Gervais

Hawes turn the ball over a lot. very butter finger

    • stam

      Lin with 4 TO..

    • zxcvb

Lead down to 19! Dallas really stopped Lin!

    • NONONO

Lin should not pass that one!

    • Alain Gervais

      That was on hawes

    • Lx

Hawes butter fingers every single game.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

That was Hawes turnovers..Why are the recording it to Lin?

      Hawes should be catching that.

    • cdblue10

I hate when Hawes asking the ball, what is he gonna with it?He can’t finish,he can’t create occassional passes yes,but overall he has no business asking the ball.

    • 808JLinBuzzzz

It’s like blood in the water. Should be the Charlotte Sharks.

    • Alain Gervais

      Playing throw hawes is risky.

    • cshot

      are you serious spencer? lol

    • Kwok Wai Lai

      That’s life!

    • IsabeliJane*17

Charlotte Hammerheads (just because they’re my favorite sharks)

    • sws94

Lin needs to get down the court faster when he’s PG. He’s not the best at dribbling out of pressure so be more elusive with his speed.

    • golfhacker

Lin was last to have possession.

    • Briiick

Mav tried to prevent him from passing the half court, LOL. Who is the most feared player in Hornets ?

    • zxcvb

One good thing about being 6th man. TOs are irrelevant.

If Lin hasn’t already made this a blowout, Lin should just pad his pts and dimes.

    • Lx

Who cares… The mavs are getting destroyed.

    • stam

Lin needs to get mad for real

    • NONONO

Anyone wants ball, Lin as PG, you need to take charge and attack rim first before think of passing!! it worked!

    • Dorothy

      Lin out

    • Alain Gervais

      oh wow lin out

    • sport

Hawes is frustrating to watch, give me Ed Davis instead.

    • stam

That is not right… why did they take lin out.

    • kauaiblue

      Go mavs!

    • sport

      Lin out boo….

    • stam

walker didn’t want to be selfish… and didn’t know what to do.

    • NONONO

I bet Lin would back in after coach tell him ATTACK

    • IsabeliJane*17

I hear you brother. While he’s small for a 5, he’s mobile and faster than Hawes.

    • your son’s voltaire

lazy Hawes and Boozer caused a lot of TO’s for Lin

    • Alain Gervais

      Refs have been killing us

    • Lx

That doesnt roll off the tongue. Charlotte Cavaliers sounds better

    • Briiick

      but not successful, yet.

    • Alain Gervais

And like that 15 point game

    • zxcvb

Lin needs a rest, but should come in with 4-6m left. Unless it’s a blowout.

    • NONONO

Put Lin in with Walker, 100% win this one.

    • Joe what do you know

      It’s sarcasm mate.

    • Rick Johnson

Lin usually gets a rest before coming in with starters but with blow out might not.

    • sport

Need Lin back ASAP, Hornets starters playing like crap.

    • zxcvb

Too easy a win. Lin can’t play when he and CHA destroy the other team.

    • NONONO

GOOD AL.. Lin can def D.W.

    • zxcvb

      He made it a blowout.

    • sws94

It’s the Al Jefferson show tonight.

    • Lx

Al is hot right now I think.

    • Promo Sports World

Been saying this for 2 years…..Mo Williams is the model Jlin needs to pattern his bench play off of

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin will come back because nobody can defend Deron Williams.

    • Tommy

so who still thinks Clifford is a good coach for Lin LOL
hes worse than anyone hes ever played for

    • kauaiblue

      Go mavs

    • LimitedEdition

      Old Dirk is old

    • Alain Gervais

I don’t understand why starters went back in

    • your son’s voltaire

looks like Lin won’t be finishing games

    • IsabeliJane*17

And have some legal battle over Cleveland?I’ll stick with my Hammerheads.

    • Sunny Sullenberger

LOF is terrible. Once Lin out, you call “Go Mavs”? Come on!

    • cdblue10

      blow out

    • zxcvb

Not in a 20pt blowout. BTW, Kemba only 4-10.

    • NONONO

They need Lin to slow down D. W. Thanks AL

    • Alain Gervais

Ive literally never hated a win so much.

    • Alain Gervais

      Lin got 17 minutes today.

    • NONONO

They do not want Lin to build stats?!

    • Tommy

not EVEN in a 20pt blow out

    • cdblue10

Yep I wanna see him play in the playoff

    • Tommy

      stat padding

    • golfhacker

      Was Jefferson yelling at Coach?

    • Riddick

Not the worst, but not sold on his coaching skills. His decisions is suspect so far.

    • Joe what do you know

Missed the game since 3rd Quarter…. How did Lin end up with 4TOs!!?

    • Alain Gervais

Bench do all the work no credit

    • your son’s voltaire

if it’s a 20pt blowout, the bench should close it out

    • sport

Lin not getting enough minutes as bench player. ;/

    • cdblue10

      I saw that,what happened?

    • zxcvb

That would be treating him like a scrub. Only scrubs play in blowouts.

    • Rzo Vlade

lol 17minutes you can get that number in a contending team

    • sws94

      Me neither.

    • your son’s voltaire

      refs and lazy Hawes

    • occupatio

its like houston days. lin rolls with bench but gets no stat padding during blowouts.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has already got 4 TOs. There is nothing wrong of him sitting on the bench to cool it down and come back later. Lamb is shooting too well and he is getting the minutes.

    • Goodday

Was Al Jefferson yelling at Coach Cliff?

    • LW

With two Jeremys, Hornets now actually have 2 first teams, and that’s going to be very lethal!

    • your son’s voltaire

there’s only 4:50 minutes to play

    • Dan Cohen

Oh well… there will never be linsanity again
lin is just like any other bench players..
not going to waste my time if it’s like this.
ppl all want to see linsanity..but nope..not going to happen.

    • Dorothy

      guys, no Lin

    • Rzo Vlade

      no wrong signing

    • zxcvb

Whoa Big Al and Cliff arguing.

    • MomentousPetey

      you can thank the refs

    • NONONO

It could be the trend – In Hornets losing games, Lin’s mins up.

    • Dan Cohen

      what they arguing about

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin is not sharp and his 3s aren’t falling.

    • zxcvb

No idea. But they were shouting at each other.

    • Alain Gervais

Im about to change the channel

    • Tommy

      worse than McHale and BS

    • Lx

Already closed it since Lin won’t be playing anymore.

    • Wayne Li

NBA Gold Rule: bench players can only have opportunity if starters are doing bad. Besides, benches could not make any mistakes, otherwise the minutes are still belong to starters.

    • Dorothy

      Lin is NOT closing games

    • Tommy

well hes getting 20mins at most

    • Goodday

Jeremy Lamb has been shooting so well. I think that’s why he’s still in there. Otherwise it’s usually JLIN’s time.. lol

    • Rick Johnson

      Yes off game for Lin

    • Alain Gervais

17 minutes are you kidding me. This season will be bad

    • Promo Sports World

      Pretty much the truth

    • zxcvb

“Closing” is not for 18-20pt games. I want to see Lin allowed to stat pad, but the truth is, only scrubs play blowout wins 99% of the time.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Lamb now as I’ve said. He’s going to start soon

    • cshot

i mean why is the starters playing in a blowout lol?

    • IsabeliJane*17

No.McHale and BS will sit Jeremy whether he’s got the hot hand or the lukewarm one (like this game).

    • Alain Gervais

      because of who??

    • NONONO

      Dallas is giving up

    • Dorothy

      Keep telling yourself that

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Big Al is killing the Mavericks. It makes Kemba looks really good.

    • Dan Cohen

lambe was always a good shooter…thats why they sign him.. lin, on the other hand , they aren’t so sure yet.
problem is , lin’ strenght is in pnr and leading.. you don’t get those easily because that means you make the call..
mda let’s him make the call.

    • Rzo Vlade

      Raymond Felton G 22:47 minutes

    • Lx

They need more practice, especially Batum

    • Alain Gervais

      Stop watching

    • MoominFloren

Let Lamb to practice with the starters?

    • Riddick

Yup, that seems to be the pattern so far. Lin brought in if Char too far behind for starters to stay on floor or game is on the line. Once Lin brings them ahead, starters brought in to look good or to take credit. smh

    • your son’s voltaire

looks like the bench scrubs are coming back in

    • sport

Not even about Linsanity it’s about Lin being the rightful starter and PG of his team.

    • Briiick

      No Lin no watching.

    • Steppen03

People, It’s OKAY for Lin to sit for the rest of the game because the Hornets got this one in the bag. Save Lin for the next game. We should focus on only getting the W’s for now And less on JL7’s minutes. He IS an Impact – believe me, coach Cliff knows his thing. This is a very good team with great teammates – Lets CHEER for everyone on team.

    • NONONO

i hope Walker not get hurt during garbage time

    • Dan Cohen

fatton.. 22 minutes and 7 points
      lina .. 17 minutes and 7 points.
yeah, deronwilliams, fatton is a better player, right =P

    • zxcvb

      Watch more basketball.

    • steven ko

looks like Barea won the battle against JLin 2nite statistically speaking?

    • Tommy

scrubs in Lin still on the bench
yep clifford you are worse than McHale and BS

    • KHuang

Because Clifford hardly has ever won in the West and this is his chance to SECURE the lead using players he knows.

      Good coaching decision.

    • Alain Gervais

idk if i can watch another year of this

    • Job713

Clifford testing Jlamb in starting lineup.

    • KHuang

No way – Lin’s bench pummelled Barea’s reserves.

    • Dorothy

      Agreed

    • cdblue10

If they’re gonna play him at this time,I will wage war against the Hornets

    • IsabeliJane*17

Why is Felton the benchmark against Jeremy’s play, even minutes? I don’t mind Tony Parker, but really, Felton?

    • Dan Cohen

      barea is good..
if he was as popular as lin, barea fans will say he is a starter
but the fact is lin is like barea.. very good.

    • golfhacker

I know everyone is frustrated about Jeremy’s playing time. Just a word of caution about sending complaints to the Hornets org about Jeremy’s playing time. The team won. Big.

    • Dan Cohen

correction.. in this game tha is

    • Tommy

      Lin shouldve signed with Mavs
      at least a starter there
well now he solidified himself as a back up
      thanks to clifford

    • Alain Gervais

Lin averaging less minutes then in LA

    • Goodday

      yup, good eye

    • LW

      but means nothing.

    • Riddick

Samo samo…use Lin in desperation to hype up the ‘starter’s’. Cliff/Char no diff despite all the Lin hopefuls.

    • Tommy

      no need to send complaints
this is the choice Lin made

    • Dan Cohen

      what are you smoking
he will be a 3rd string
you think deron will let the player he gave ‘birth’ to to shine
      you ARE delusional.

    • IsabeliJane*17

No.He won’t be a starter in the Mavs.

    • Promo Sports World

He was never going there unless Jordan signed so it was less of their wanting him than to fill a spot

    • Lx

That is taking it way too far Lol

    • KHuang

      Oh please.

The Mavs DID NOT WANT Lin.

They talked to Lin’s agent, but they never even offered Lin a contract to sign .

    • Rzo Vlade

no sign with a contender the minutes he got in hornets are the same he will get at a contending team

    • Tommy

so? still better than being wanted as a back up

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin clearly had a target on his back against these Mavs and Del Harris is a fool.

    • Steppen03

N.O. The Hornets Won! And Lin did a good job out there in limited time. Just shots not falling in more – otherwise, he’s shooting like Steph Curry.

    • Lx

Winning the war is better than winning the battle.

    • Tommy

if D will didnt sign with them he wouldve been

    • zxcvb

He already said repeatedly that he doesn’t want Lamb in the starting lineup. At least Lin, he said he’d consider it.

    • occupatio

with lamb shooting so well and with that longterm contract, lin will never make it to starting lineup

    • zxcvb

      5 games in…

I mean, I HATE Harden, but he’s not gonna shoot 25% for the season.

    • Rick Johnson

Ya then JLin 2nd team will be weakened with Hairston.

    • Tommy

they signed d will after Lin went to charlotte

    • Riddick

Hate to say it, but not surprised.

    • your son’s voltaire

never did liked this coach. Lin needs to play out of his mind and force his way into the starting lineup. or at least get decent minutes

    • sport

Lamb signed a big contract extension he knows he’s staying. It’s only a matter of time before he starts.

    • Promo Sports World

Never thought it was a true opportunity

    • MoominFloren

But you can see the trend….

    • Job713

Lamb shooting himself into starting position.

    • DaVinci633

I see Lin plenty of chances. He is not aggressive enough plus he’s not making any of his threes. Didn’t get much free throws either. Lin is a contributor but not an impact player. I actually don’t like that fact that he shys away from his potential and telling everyone not to expect linsanity

    • KHuang

How can Lin play for a team that didn’t sign him?

    • sws94

I think he’ll play. One thing Lin needs to get better at is playing under tough one-on-one D. But he played very well tonight except for the travel under pressure. I think the other TOs are tolerable, especially the bogus offensive foul.

    • Alain Gervais

      Less every game

    • IsabeliJane*17

Mavs didn’t go after Jeremy, fyi. They were all out on DeAndre.

    • Dan Cohen

no no no.. cuban ALWAYS wanted a STAR pg..
lin is NOT a star at that time..sorry.
so if lin signed, they might still go for williams

    • Tommy

      if he had gone there

    • Alain Gervais

      17 minutes

    • KHuang

It would have helped if Spencer Hawes came to play.

    • sport

When Batum can play SG and Hairston can start, you think?!

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Let be real, Lin on the bench does not look happy for this blowout.

    • Alain Gervais

      if he plays well 24

    • devin23

Batum hogs the ball like crazy. Lin plays less than 20 min. I think he made the wrong decision signing here. So far, its looking worst than the lakers in term of mpg

    • Dorothy

if it is this important and he values Lin as we thought, he would not play Lin? I think Clifford showed his true color tonight. Our suspicion about Clifford was valid.

    • Dan Cohen

don’t waste time..he doesn’t know much about bball.. on the other site, you will know that from what he posted.

    • Tommy

      cool
then i guess Lin is gona be back up for the rest of his carrer

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has changed Barea’s shots whole night.

    • KHuang

      Yawn.

      So?

      QUALITY MINUTES.

    • zxcvb

He’s not. But because of the BS fouls in the 1st half when he was cooking.

    • Job713

      Jlin being a good teammate.

    • Dan Cohen

      he is..
no nba team will want a chinese guy to be a franchise player.
or a starter dude. face it.

    • Tommy

      true
altho d will wasnt a star back then either but yah

    • KHuang

Stop, it was sign with Charlotte or be out of the NBA entirely.

    • your son’s voltaire

Hawes is just like Boozer. Clifford looking like BS right about now

    • Alain Gervais

I think its setting in as lin as back up.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Just a test but will be permanent, Lamb will close game with starters NOT Lin. Be prepared.

    • Tommy

      Yao Ming
but yah Lin is a starter in this league but not good enough to be wanted as a starter

    • Dan Cohen

cuban wanted an established star pg.
      not develope one.

    • zxcvb

Clifford said he wants defense, not offense since Big Al takes so many shots.

    • Steppen03

Lin “IS the MVP from the bench.” You can replace Kemba with Lin But who’s gonna replace Lin ??? No One. So, Lin is invaluable.

    • Alain Gervais

They had a 20 point lead. id say good luck against good team

    • sport

Didn’t get enough minutes, didn’t close the game, not enough shots, still bench player with everyone else starting over him when he’s better.

    • Rzo Vlade

      yep

    • LW

In terms of 3s, it’s Lin’s and Hawes’ night off. And Batum is always off.

    • sws94

I thought he should have played more minutes tonight but overall agree, look at everything from a team perspective and how Lin impacts what they do. He’s a very important member of the team. I listened to the Dallas feed and they thought he played well.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Yeah he’s still on that foul. when was it again?

    • Dorothy

Keep telling yourself that, if that makes you happy.

    • Tommy

lol i dont think you know much
at least im not going arounf and saying Lin has been mistreated otherwise he wouldve been an all star LOL

    • FSW

Saw this coming couple of games ago
      Lamb will get to play
      Lin is not long term

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Yet Lin still plays better than Roberts.

    • NONONO

They want to make sure JLamb the player of the game by keep him in?

    • IsabeliJane*17

Oh for crying out loud, this is the first time Jeremy played 17 minutes a game and Clifford is already a Jeremy hater? Pit Hornets against top contender like Warriors or Grizzlies, and let’s judge how Clifford will use Jeremy against those teams.

    • Goodday

man, some ppl are overreacting.. Hates, Zeller, Lin all had less than 20 min. if the score were closer, LIN would be in.

    • Promo Sports World

So many on here are not being real….he was given 2 million to come off the bench…minutes will come when he has solid stretch of games….ain’t gonna be easy to swallow, but this is the NBA we’ve seen this happen to many players

    • Job713

I expect this pattern if blowout win. Doesn’t “need” Lin’s contribution.

    • Briiick

Batum’s FG % doesn’t look good tonight, and Walker’s gets to his mean as well.

    • Alain Gervais

      It hasn’t all year

    • Tommy

Lin is a solid 11-4 guy as a starter

    • John Focker

      1) YES, Batum hogs. It’s official.
      2) YES, we got the anti-Lin refs tonight. Plenty of them out there.
      3) YES, we can still think positive. Clifford saw biased refs neutralizing Lin (with phantom calls, bad calls, no calls) so decided to take him out for this game.

    • james brown

i guess not really..he did just chosen the team that he liked and leave the others that’s not palatable to him..he won’t be out of NBA even on not signing with the Hornets..worse scenario, he did sign with the other team in such a lesser situation, but not out!

    • Rzo Vlade

then better sign with a contender than this trash team…same minutes but a chance to win a ring

    • Alain Gervais

      Thats very optimistic

    • LW

Guys they are not closing, they are just sweeping!

    • kauaiblue

Wow, i dont even feel like watching theae games anymore… fk hornets…

    • Tommy

      3) is totally fan fiction lol
Clifford just sees Lin as a back up thats it haha

    • FSW

Lin is way more productive than batum but gets no air time

    • Dan Cohen

yao ming is from china..has chinese backing.
      lin does not.

    • John Focker

      Glass half… ________

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Still up by 19, why?

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

3 for 8 is not so bad shooting% after all….At least, his fg% will go up a bit.

    • your son’s voltaire

man, i hope they trade Hawes soon

    • cdblue10

This is not looking good for Lin,I hope this team will probe me wrong.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Have you ever thought that Clifford made the decision not to play Jeremy lots of minutes against a NON-CONTENDER?

    • Goodday

true. the refs were just.. so bad today… not only to LIN, but also to the Hornets. LIN has 4 turnovers today… but he can take Barea + Williams at the same time… sigh.

    • NONONO

Lin will have one stats great today – team scores on his ON/OFF court difference – 22 pts?

    • Dan Cohen

dude ..doesn’t matter what you think
it’s how media , gm, coaches adn the owner thinks
if no team in nba think he is a starter even if he puts up 20-10..HE IS NOT A STARTER!!!.

    • John Focker

Because Lin takes a beating for no good reason.

    • Alain Gervais

ITs the wait that annoying. it takes so long. then to be taken out after gaining that lead. its so unrewarding. i think i might stop watching games early this year

    • blubell
    • TTNN

      not really.

    • Promo Sports World

It’s good to be a roller coaster man but I’m honest with what I see and have seen with the pros

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Silly, Lin is a backup, playing him is what it should be

    • Tommy

Lin can have that if he wanted
and Yao was really good he deserved to be a franchise player
Lin isnt a franchise player hes good enough to be a starting PG if the team has a SG who is their 1st option

    • cdblue10

He help the team to pull away yet they took him out for just a stupid reason

    • Dan Cohen

who say he is an all-star.? he is not all-star level.
can you speak rigth, because I don’t understand you.

    • blubell
    • CJSHYY

Why Lin always played so less min now? Bc he’s not the one who got extend contract?

    • LW

OK, Hornets are beginning their wining streak!

    • NONONO

      +22. Walker 0.

    • Jedi

The honeymoon with Clifford is over for many of us, including me. It’s really tiring getting lied to repeatedly by one coach after another. Jeremy just needs to lower his head and pretend to trip/stumble while drilling into Clifford with his hair. I’ll get a lot of satisfaction from that ‘accident’.

    • zxcvb

      Blowout wins.

    • Promo Sports World

      To a degree yes

    • zxcvb

People will go ballistic, but bad reffing and a BLOWOUT WIN, make this game meaningless.

For those who don’t watch much hoops pre-Lin, only scrubs play garbage time. And for the record, Batum and Kemba played crappy when they came back in to “close.” Hurt their FG%s.

    • Alain Gervais

Lin 9th in minutes. So much for 8th man of the year

    • Steppen03

What?? You think Lin is sitting because game is ON THE LINE ??? They are blowing out opponents. I’m Expecting to see this Hornets to make it in the EC Finals – Cavs Vs Hornets (with Lin playing well).

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      You’re blind. 17 min?

    • Tommy

yah thats wht he will not be pursued

    • IsabeliJane*17

DISAGREE. As a “back up” he got the refs’ “preferential” whistles tonight.

    • kauaiblue

Yeah, very frustrating… i teuly believe there is asian bias… a microcosm of this society… we need to take things to court and sue for discrimination more… everyone else does… lol

    • CJSHYY

I know but why they allowed Lamb to pad stats not Lin? He always the last one to check in but first one to check out in 2nd unit?

    • Singapore BB Fan

that’s what Lin is paid..$2M don’t expect him to put in 30+mins every night. its a long road ahead….next few games on the road will be the real
test. Dallas is no match for a revitalised hornets team at the moment.
let’s watch the next few games …

    • Dan Cohen

he is not a frachise player.. who say he is a franchise player.
doesn’t mattter..again.. if the owner, coaches gm DOESN’T THINK HE IS A STARTER, HE WILL NOT BE A STARTER.
if you are in a job and the manager doesn’t htink you can do it even if you can, do you think you have the opportiunity!!?? NO. case close.

    • Promo Sports World

Lots of heads here don’t watch the game too much….Jamal Crawford at times rides the pine

    • sport

Or… yell at the coach like Al Jeff?

    • Tommy

Lin hasnt got more than 25mins in a while
that should tell where he is now

    • Riddick

Yup, but not counting on it.

    • nodomo

really need D’antoni to get a job so Lin ca play. If Clippers can start Chris Paul and JJ Reddick and not worry about SG defense, I don’t buy that Lin can’t start alongside Kemba.

    • Briiick

Agreed. But tonight’s ballhog didn’t look too good, his FG % is 30%; Walker’s is below 40% as well.

    • Jedi

Yes but we’re talking Jeremy here…passive aggressive style.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

The point is between Hawes and Lin they made 6 TOs; whoever takes the credit really doesn’t matter. It’s a matter of matching up. The Hornets used big Al to punish the Mavericks and the bigs had killed the Mavericks in the paint. Lamb’s long arms of course is benefited in a slow tempo game.

Perhaps, Lin and Hawes can start learning to play better together. But it’s a big win for the Hornets. Roberts is no Lin, Lin will still get the minutes to play with Lamb together. There would be time that the matching would be at Lin’s advantage but to a slower and less defensive team, Lamb seems to be a better choice.

    • zxcvb

Even Curry rides the pine when GSW is destroying teams. He was insane last year and only played 33mpg!

    • blubell
    • Dan Cohen

you just realized that.? lol he was saying sht on the other site too!!

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Ok disagree all you want. If you worry for him after 17 min then you should never wish him to play more than 20. This is the NBA.

    • CJSHYY

I know… Don’t think this team will treat him as he thought….just like Lakers, to make you had bad stats then you couldn’t get good contract next year. smh!

    • devin23

Nope. Lin needs to lookout for himself. He didn’t come to charlotte at 2 mil peanut money to play 17 min per game. He needs to play to the best of his ability this season, be confident and efficient, after this season, get a decent contract as starter OR 6th man at another team. Right now, he has the role of a backup, not even a 6th man.

    • blubell
    • Dan Cohen

what does he mean??? unfair target?? by other players huh?

    • sport

Lin can’t even get 30 MPG right now since like 2-3 season ago!

    • Kwok Wai Lai

But the team won big. You couldn’t challenge the coach’s decision.

    • zxcvb

Whenever defenses and coaches try to destroy Lin, they LOSE by 20+ pts. The only time it worked was 3 years ago in MIA. Carlisle got CLOWNED like a dummy tonight. Horrible coaching…destroyed by CHA. He’s really getting exposed of late.

When McHale can outcoach you…oy vey! Only Pop and Brad Stevens really impress me as coaches.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I made the same case to some on here…Lamb is looking very good + he just got a contract….The writing is on the wall…Lin will only play at least 20mpg unless he’s having a great night shooting….

There’s simply not enough minutes at the SG spot…..Lin will also have to play much better than tonight if he wants more minutes.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Against tougher teams they will need to play Lin much more. Buts that’s kinda how it was with McHale too. They saved Lin as a weapon of last resort.

    • Lx

They have no respect for Lin.

    • Dan Cohen

      zammmmmm

    • james brown

      1. i think Cliff made the decision to let Batum handles the ball and told jeremy that it will be given to him to score, but Batum starting to love the ball and what he can do with it, if he didn’t fumble with it, Cliff won’t mind, and the only recourse if not, cliff will just say to pass the ball immediately. While Lin loss his time on the court because of this experiment.
      2. as always, the refs are so much alike!
      3. Must be the point because there are reason to let JLIN play, but opt not to because of Number 2 reason that neutralize Lin and in so doing affects the flow of the game.

    • John Focker

I don’t like your insolent tone. Why throw Jeremy’s body out there when refs are just gonna cheat him anyways.

    • sws94

I don’t know, maybe Lin is a little banged up. He seems like he’s being careful with him where he rode Lin the first 3 games. It’s hard to tell in what turned out to be a blowout. But I don’t understand why Lin didn’t play more into the 4th before coming out or why he didn’t play Lin and Kemba together more. He said he wants that pairing on the court but they haven’t played much together.

    • Alain Gervais

something is always missing for Lin. In houston got the minutes and had the fast pace but team mates ignores him. In La got the minutes at first but style was way off. Here we got the style and teammates seem to want to pass but barely plays

    • NONONO

Lin has one stats great today if coach studies Analytics- team scores on his ON/OFF court difference +22 pts!!!, Walker 0. it could means Lin helps team a lot.

    • Promo Sports World

I think he is referring to the hate others players get when playing with and against Jeremy and when given the chance players go at him

    • Tommy

even if MDA was the coach, he might not go after Lin or even start him if he had better PGs

    • Sophie Paris

Lin will have better games. A win is a win.

    • Steppen03

Honestly, Do We care about 6th man of the year award ???
That’s is small potato. I want the Hornets to play well enough to grab the 2nd Seed – CAVS Vs HORNETS in EC Finals. Lin will get his chance. It’s a very long season.

    • steven ko

let’s see what minutes he gets against Spurs. but Lin’s got to find his shot again and fast…

    • CJSHYY

      Who?

    • John Focker

I’m warming your serving of crow stew for next few games…

    • Rick Johnson

Powell was playing him pretty physical, full court, banging head. Seemed to spook Lin caused travel.

    • Alain Gervais

anyone with yes could see bench would of ended the game b halftime if given the start

    • Dan Cohen

oh because they don’t want no chinese guy to outshine them?
if that is the case, lin has been throught that many timesin college!

    • Kwok Wai Lai

The reason that Lin’s not in is because the third team was sent in in the last 6 minutes.

    • MomentousPetey

      Tommy is a troll.

    • IsabeliJane*17

I ain’t like you who is a “minutes warrior”. I look at impact.

    • Dan Cohen

oh you mean when lin was ball handling it VERY WELL..

      I thoguht that was harris???!!

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He should be put on shelve if that what you want to protect him. He needs stats too.

    • zxcvb

I think Big Al is getting traded. They’re trying to pump up his stats, but Big Al refuses to play defense. So Clifford gets on him. Explains a lot.

    • Alain Gervais

No they wasn’t. starters plays a good 3 minutes for no reason

    • LW

      Agree. Long time no see!

    • james brown

But opt to play the starter more EVEN in a BLOW-OUT game? i wonder?

    • sws94

And handle on the ball pressure better.

    • TTNN

no, because he can’t bring the ball over the half court. Something is not right.

    • John Focker

      In a while…this is only Game 5.

    • Jedi

Before the team won big, he could’ve given Jeremy more minutes in the 1st half. Then after the big lead, there was no reason to take out Jeremy and put 4 starters back in. If we’re talking big lead garbage time, then why not put the bench enders in at that point? No, Clifford put in 4 starters and took out Jeremy, meaning he didn’t trust Jeremy to hold on to the lead.

    • IsabeliJane*17

I ain’t a “minute warrior” like you so I’ll leave you with your gripe.

    • Dan Cohen

i want to see the highlights for that…..

    • John Focker

Well, you know…if they get…(I won’t say it)

    • Dan Cohen

wow.. that is something you said to night that I agreed with.

    • Alain Gervais

Thats also not true. that happen on a play or two

    • zxcvb

      And missed every shot, ha.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

      Being overplayed a lot.

    • sws94

finally, someone else noticed that. He doesn’t look right. Not sure if it is physical or not.

    • heart

Ok. 1) There was an article earlier in the day, Mavs game planned against the perimeter shooters. That’s why Hornets 3pts were contested. 2) Mavs guards (Williams, Felton, Bareera & Devon) definitely targeted Lin bc Linsanity past reminder. 3) Therefore, things opened up for Al in the post. 4) Mavs probably didn’t have much scout on new guys yet, especially Lamb. 5) And Lamb is given a longer leash, so he’s more confident of his shooting. 6) Lin is 2nd string reserve so Roberts gets to play garbage time.

    • TTNN

He got pulled right after that.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Then root for the Hornets, this is Lin first site.

    • Rick Johnson

I thought Cliff kept starters in because Mav’s still had their starters in.

    • DaVinci633

Lin personally needs to set a goal for his pts and assist. Doing your best and forget the rest to God is a great mindset. But you have to have a goal. You aim at nothing, you will surely hit it. Lin’s goal must be linsanity domination. That is his potential regardless of how many mins he plays. He was not dominating.

    • IsabeliJane*17

      To cover the starter suck.

    • Goodday

man, i like coach clifford.. hope he doesn’t have any trouble with his Star player.. Al jefferson has been good tho. He’s the one sacrificed a lot for the team’s change of style. Hope he will continue to buy into Coach’s demands.. i believe on defense especially… lol

    • Dan Cohen

I was think something of that sort too..
i mean why suddenly post him up.

    • John Focker

That’s the point, he WON’T GET STATS with THESE REFS, playing time or not. They can rob his layups left and right by calling phantom offensive foul.

    • IsabeliJane*17

FYI, I’m a big Jeremy homer. Watch your tone.

    • zxcvb

Nah, that was only 1 TO. And then it was a blowout win thanks to Lin.

The only “problem” was Lin picking up 2 quick fouls in the 1st half. BS reffing, but it is what it is.

    • John Focker

      Stat-pumping.

    • Alain Gervais

      After TOV to hawes

    • sws94

That’s why I keep saying as PG he needs to tighten up. Kemba doesn’t have those problems. For Lin’s skill level and all the work he did on dribbling, he needs to just assert himself more.

    • MomentousPetey

refs decided to hold their whistle

    • TTNN

More than one game now, somehow i feel he is not thinking clearly now.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Then you should worry about his stats first. I wasn’t speaking, I have no tone.

    • Tommy

      lol thanks
hope theres more to come ha ha

    • John Focker

In case you weren’t aware, Lin plays and roots for which team?

    • Hope

Not sure what is going on here. I thought lin played really well.

    • sws94

But he held onto the ball a little too long and didn’t go anywhere. It’s a problem. He played PG much better tonight but he really needs to improve his pacing and handling ball pressure when it comes.

    • zxcvb

Also explains why a nice guy like Al feels comfortable mouthing off to the coach. He knows he’s gone by the trade deadline or sooner.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

I root for the team too, but this is his temp home.

    • DaVinci633

      He played below average.

    • IsabeliJane*17

I don’t worry about his stats. He lets his game do the talking, and I let it like that. In case you didn’t know, his stats don’t look stellar tonight, but he made an impact.

    • Alain Gervais

Who thinks Lin got pulled because of confidence? or was it his average minutes because 17 minutes this game infuriates me???

    • sws94

You don’t think he’s just rusty? What if he just pushed the ball more? Or does he need to give it up faster? Or ask for a pick?

    • Tommy

      good for you

    • Promo Sports World

10 and 6 on most nights when 21 minutes
      Below

15 and 7 on nights when the minutes are plus 25

    • DaVinci633

      Because he didn’t produce

    • Kwok Wai Lai

The problem is Hawes played worse. Lin-Hawes has to work better for them to stay on the court.

    • grover chang

I see Lin turned a personal mediocre performance into a 21 point lead. The one nice thing from both wins I noticed is Lin’s play seems fairly effortless. He is with a team that has a nice pace and style suited for him and he does not have to fight his own teammates. The team is well coached and Lin doesn’t need to compensate for the coach’s poor system or for his selfish teammates. Happy to see Lin have such a lightness to his whole aura. Smart choice siding with Coach Clifford. Even the Maverick analyst conceded this is a much better team.

    • zxcvb

Blowout win and they want to inflate Al’s stats. Lin wouldn’t be sitting in a close game.

How many games does Lebron close in a 20pt blowout? Zero.

    • CJSHYY

I think more bc Paul said Mav’s players were unfair to Lin?

    • james brown

that’s the wrong notion on what jeremy is saying when he had said that he Let his almighty empowers Him…that means that he will set a goal for himself and with that goal in mind, he knew that its HIM who will allow that to happen and NOT Jeremy’s OWN SELF. Jeremy has a goal right now, he has a plan but somehow , its not happening as he thought it would be, thats why if aint happening, he has less pressure because he knew its NOT YET TIME FOR IT TO HAPPEN!

    • Tommy

      i dont lol
i only hope Lin does well dont care about the team much
      this is Lins contract year

    • Joe what do you know

It’s his game performance and ref calls combined… I just don’t believe Clifford has Lin’s minutes at 25- normally.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

The end of the season, teams and commentators don’t look at impact and no one remember, they look at stats.

    • Jedi

I agree with you. He should put it in his mind to try to double double every single night, with a triple double every 20 games. With his minutes now, he can’t do it, but he needs to try anyway.

    • DaVinci633

I don’t like Hawes. Reminds me of Jordan hill. Maybe sets a better pick than hill

    • sws94

I don’t agree. I think he played well the first half, just didn’t shoot well. The second half he didn’t handle the ball pressure with enough confidence.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

People are silly thinking this is about the world cup, NBA is BUSINESS.

    • CJSHYY

I think he had not too good shooting night & I don’t get why he played so less min now? Bc something like Paul said…?

    • zxcvb

A lot of boxscore watchers, but Lin was fine. Destroyed the Mavs with defense and playmaking.

You could argue that Lin should be much more selfish and not play D (to avoid fouls). But either way, Lin was right and everyone else was wrong. The proof? Scoreboard. Blowout win on the road against a “smart coach” like Carlisle, who got exposed. Again.

    • Dan Cohen

if he gotten those 2 3s.. he is 13 points zam it

    • Lam

For a moment I thought I logged into the other site by mistake. So much whining and hate for coach.

    • Promo Sports World

      Jumper only downside tonight
      Needs more PnR please

    • Rick Johnson

Maybe was Harris, I remember he hit heads got the foul call and the ball but then he shuffled feet and got called for travel causing a TO.

    • Riddick

Exactly, that’s how I see it too. It justs sucks because he’s always bailing out the team w/o any credit…just disgusting.

    • Alain Gervais

17 minutes am i the only one angry at this??

    • Hope

Wow, we do have the jeremylin.net.com spill over here. I thought lin played well and extended the lead to 20. Especially that &1 play.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Oh please, if all teams look at stats, there wouldn’t be around 7 TEAMS who will go after Jeremy in the offseason.

    • Briiick

Well said. Lin is a BB player with top hardware and top software, that why I am his fan. I won’t be a fan of a player who pads his stats, such as Haren, Kobe, Melo et al.

    • Dan Cohen

      ROTFLMAO

    • devin23

It sickens me to think Jlin plays only 17 min with 2 mil money while someone like reggie jackson gets to hog the ball all day and is paid 80 mil.

    • Jedi

That was Harris. He went nuts on Lin. Maybe that’s what it means to be unfairly targeted because he’s seen as an easy target.

    • Sophie Paris

I keep up. I fell asleep last game lol.

    • Tommy

      It is
if you wanna be a star you gotta look out for yourself and take that extra shot
in the end you gotta look out for yourself because everybody is freaking talented in this league
you die better than I, right?(not literally)

    • Rzo Vlade

wrong signing by jlin shuould sign contender same minutes but a chance to win a ring

    • IsabeliJane*17

Jeremy’s back is one of Carlisle’s target tonight, if not his main target.

    • Dan Cohen

      He is black. oh zamm..there I said it.but it’s true..applies everywhere.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

If Hornets didn’t have the big lead, they wouldn’t have to go to Big Al so much and naturally Lin would play more minutes. Lastly Roberts was sent in to play while Lin could. The result is Roberts simply couldn’t do anything at all. They of course would win more with Lin on the court but Lin didn’t get the minutes. So, a lost of about 6 to 7 minutes for the game.

    • Alain Gervais

      17 minutes is infuriating me

    • DaVinci633

Playing by waiting to get “possessed” by almighty is a nice bonus. Meanwhile be more aggressive with your own strength. You can just passively wait for the door/lane to be open. Sometimes you gotta bust thru it cus he did the hard work. Miracles can happen by hardwork and not necessarily out of body experiences.

    • zxcvb

He looked good from midrange in the 1st half until BS reffing. Even Curry was 4-12 last night until a hot streak.

Too bad Lin made it a blowout win anyway.

    • Hope

      Oh yeah! Deal with it.

    • sws94

I don’t think it is about the Chinese guy. Some of it may have to do with that but if Lin goes out there and “martial arts” their butts that will end. It is up to Lin to thrown an elbow and get a little nasty sometimes. He may not want to, but on the court he can’t allowed himself to be bullied.

    • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has to shoot better to justify his minutes over Lamb.

    • zxcvb

Carlisle knows to stop Lin, but he’s too stupid to know that Lin has other parts of his game than scoring. Basketball is weird. If stats were everything, Melo would be 4X champion and Barkley would be better than MJ.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      And the plot thickens…

    • steven ko

      it’s a black league bro…

    • Dan Cohen

but lamby is a good shooter..very good.

    • Jedi

Absolute not. I’m extremely annoyed. Some fans here can be happy cos the team won, but I am not that kinda fan.

    • sport

He needs to take more shots with no hesitation.

    • Dan Cohen

for a blowout it’s fine.. else it’s not

    • sws94

They have respect for him. They think to get him out of rhythm pressure him and he can be rattled. Truth is, at times he can. Sometimes he makes fools of them. I wish he did all of the time.

    • Alain Gervais

My guess for this year his stats get better but ppg stay the same or slightly lower in even less minutes

    • Sophie Paris

Lin will sleep on it or not lol

    • DaVinci633

This I agree. Even though Lin can be inconsistent, he doesn’t lose the game for you. He contributes more than most people on an avert night even though his stats may be fluctuating.

    • Promo Sports World

It’s all good man..if watched so much ball, I just want jlin to win and have fun

    • Alain Gervais

      Lamb will cool off

    • dlin2

Bull crap – the starters played a lot of minutes despite it being a blow out – how do you explain that?

    • JoeTeam

      now thats bball talk!

    • steven ko

Hornets might need to resign Lin on the cheap next season so have to cap his minutes before he starts exploding.

    • MEL LIN

sophie really upset how they are treating him now after signing Lamb

    • Hope

I thought lin checked out in 4th was for brief rest. But since the game is out of touch, there wasn’t any need to play him.

    • Rick Johnson

Ya, he was all over Lin full court. Head butt seemed to spook Lin a bit and got called for shuffling feet. Then Williams did what should have been called a flagrant 2 to Zeller. Lin then seemed to clear his head made that bold drive got an and one which seemed to put confidence back into team.

    • devin23

All I know is if Lin wants to be a starter or even 6th man again, he better not even think about resigning with this team.

    • dlin2

The starters played a lot of minutes – how do you explain that?

    • MEL LIN

      don’t fool yourself hope.

    • DaVinci633

Regardless of stats, I think through 5 games his pg playing has improve a lot. He looks like a veteran and less rookie like

    • dlin2

I’d rather have Lin in the CBA than see him average 15 mpg.

    • zxcvb

Devin Harris and I had the same amount of points against Lin tonight: ZERO.

Nice job, Carlisle and Refs! Friggin destroyed by Lin and Charlotte.

    • Alain Gervais

the starters should of never came back

    • Sophie Paris

Not letting any chances for Dallas to be back by changing the lineup?

    • dlin2

      A veteran bench warmer

    • Dan Cohen

      their salary

    • your son’s voltaire

      who is sophie?

    • sws94

Hawes is a good passer. He needs to work with Lin on that cut play that he did in the last game. Lin has to make sure he runs around off ball and cuts. There are times I thought in this game if Lin had cut, he would have had an easy layup. Lin’s first step and speed can be used without the ball sometimes.

    • Hope

You are telling me I’m dreaming

    • dlin2

      Your reward – 17 minutes a game.

    • Sophie Paris

      It’s me ^^

    • grover chang

I hope that is not true in Clifford’s mind. Lin will not shoot better then Lamb. Lin has historically been about 45% FG and Lamb is shooting like 60% and spreading the floor. Lin does other things but is not a pure shooter. Seems Lin is being used as the glue guy for the bench. In other words he is the back up point guard, as he was promised.

    • your son’s voltaire

      oh haha

    • MEL LIN

      I’m with you

    • james brown

if one team puts an effort of playing hard on one player, that means they respects his game and want that player to be out of his rhythm.

    • sport

Lin didn’t get play much this game :/ Starters and Lamb didn’t most of the scoring.

    • dlin2

Yes but Cliffraud played the starters long

    • DaVinci633

I still haven’t seen him drive and caught in mid air to force pass the ball that results in TO or close To a TO

    • cdblue10

I wanna see him in the playoffs but 17minutes will not gonna cut it,win or lose.I still value his next team where they’ll give him a chance to play more.

    • sws94

Not there yet. It’s improving, but at times he looks shaky. Teams don’t want their PGs looking shaky.

    • zxcvb

Blowout. If Lin was benched in a close game like GSW/LAC last night, I would BE MAD AS HECK.

    • Sophie Paris

Lamb played good. It was not jlin’s night. Yet team won big it’s all they care about

    • blubell
    • dlin2

Again … the starters played a lot including Jeremy lamb even if this is a blue out. Just face reality… Lin is again demoted.

    • sport

Me neither, not happy when the team wins without Lin. 17 minutes really?!

    • sws94

Mental rest perhaps. Then it turned into a blowout.

    • zxcvb

To pump up Al’s stats. Look at Nic and Kemba: 3-10, 4-11. Ouch.

They were Al’s butler in the 4th.

    • Hope

Really, you expect starters to check or right away

    • DaVinci633

Not there yet but getting there fast

    • grover chang

He looks as shaky as any other point guard. They all had their moments including the mav point guards and walker. Their mistakes are just not as amplified in our minds because we don’t care about them.

    • your son’s voltaire

they have a growing troll population over there but mod doesn’t seem to care

    • Dorothy

He is talking about PT, not FG%

    • your son’s voltaire

      PJ

    • Hope

If the starters couldn’t hold the lead, I think lin will come in by 5 minute mark

    • sport

Not just “play more” but play as the starting PG with the right system and teammates.

    • sws94

He was promised more than a backup. He backs up Kemba but he was supposed to be on the floor alongside Kemba also. He was supposed to play a big role on the team.

    • james brown

and it was shown how MAD CP3 last game against GSW when he was subbed on the last possession, and how they all CATERED to CP3 after that game to appease him, EVEN the coach approached him and talk him out out of that incident..!

    • CJSHYY

I really think it’s not good sign for Lin bc why he played so less min? Batum didn’t shoot well either? They treated Lin like a real bench now. smh!

    • MEL LIN

      harris not powell ding ding

    • MoominFloren

I thought Lin once said he’s allowed to play his game….how to do it with these 17 min and Batum the shoot first PG never pass to him?

    • devin23

Not gonna be the hornets thats for sure. All that talk was just PR. Action speaks louder than words…

    • Rick Johnson

Good to see you back. It’s been a while.

    • KHuang

      I’m HAPPY.

      Another easy blowout victory.

Lin didn’t have to exert himself. Plus the damn refs were cheating Lin this game with all the turnovers. And Spencer Hawes did not show up ready to play, which also hurt Lin in assists and turnovers.

Lin played his customary bonecrushing defense, and he scored adequately. The team did well with Lin on the court.

I wrote before the season started that if Lin played low minutes, it would be because the game was a blowout in Charlotte’s favor. LIKE TODAY AND LAST GAME.

    • zxcvb

Lin is the 6th man and got in foul trouble (BS, but it happened).

Although I would LOVE to see Lin stat pad in garbage time, the truth is that only scrubs and weaklings who need confidence play garbage time.

Big Al was there to stat pad for a trade. Just look at Kemba and Nic being his weakling butler and hurting their FG%s to help him.

    • kauaiblue

      Sorry but yes

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes Mavs targeted JLin for no good reason. I’m glad that he didn’t play that many minutes. Didn’t want him to get hurt from stupid Mavs players who wanted to hurt JLin with great helps from refs.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Starters played on blowout to cover the starters bad start. How bad was it? All Mavs starters were blowing by the Hornets starters. Blowout began when Jeremy take over the game.

    • kauaiblue

Have to express myself… lol… r u rooting for hornets even with how they treat him?

    • sws94

Carlisle is not stupid in any way. Slowing Lin down is slowing down the other ways he impacts the game.

    • Tommy

No plays called for Lin at thou aha

    • MEL LIN

i disagree khuang…i am telling you Jeremy is not being treated right. After they signed lamb i know it’s going to be different

    • KHuang

      So what?

His team went WAY AHEAD when he was on the court.

BLOWOUT VICTORY – everybody is a hero!

    • DaVinci633

Lin picked the hornets. He said it’s the best environment. I see the team is playing Spurs and GSW style. How more perfect can you get? Step it up Lin. It’s on him. His lack of mins is Lins fault!

    • grover chang

Lin is a bench player. Their job is to play hard, play defense, maintain the lead, or extend the lead. Check, Check, Check. Lin and the bench did their job. The next 5 minutes were to see how Lamb played with the starters. Answer was not well. The next 2.5 minutes was garbage time and see Lamb play with scrubs. Again – not well. Those were Lin’s other 7 minutes. I’m sure they helped Clifford get a better picture of Lambs capabilities and fit in the team. Clifford’s duty is to the Hornets whole team, not Lin.

    • Alain Gervais

TBH when Jefferson played bad he played less minutes. My issue is i don’t see the upside. If he played will he gets 25. Its not that much. There is no reward. Spurs will rock the starters BTW

    • Dorothy

Agreed, things do not smell right to me.

    • KHuang

Lin plays when the game’s outcome is in doubt.

      Otherwise he sits.

    • CJSHYY

Why it’s Lin’s fault? Batum didn’t have good shooting night either?

    • sws94

He may be a 6th man. Lin has a way of letting down sometimes. But I think he has the chance to be a 6th man on this team.

    • MEL LIN

don’t think so…you watch his minutes will be less each game to a point he won’t even play during 4th quarter

    • blubell
    • KHuang

      I don’t think so.

The Spurs this year are not the Spurs of old.

Hopefully Charlotte’s starters do well again so Lin doesn’t have to exert himself much.

    • james brown

others has a better chance on redeeming their FG
because they have MORE TIME to do it, while Jeremy stays thinking on the
bench and how to improve his FG in the BENCH using calculator!

    • Tommy

fair enough im not an expert like you are i focus more on stats to judge a player lol
but he is playing very well as a back up PG

    • Joe what do you know

Everyone is entitled to their interpretation of today’s game, be it good or bad for Lin. But if it’s doom and gloom you’re seeing, please try phrase it carefully before you post it up here. Afterall, this forum is promoting POSITIVITY. Too much negativity will defeat the purpose of having this forum in the first place. Thanks everyone.

    • Dorothy

No, Lin plays when the coach is out of ways to win. It is not that coach thinks high on Lin. It is more of coach does not have any other way, then he will TRY Lin to win.

    • KHuang

Hmm, that means LOTS OF BLOWOUTS like today and last game!

      I’ll happily take it.

    • DaVinci633

Batum is indespensable because of defense

    • grover chang

I’m sorry that is not true. The starters open the half and created a 10 point lead without the bench. Lin and the bench did their job by extending it. That was Clifford’s vision. The Hornets will come at you in waves like the spurs and gsw. (or swarms in Hornets case).

    • KHuang

      Good post.

Do consider the ULTIMATE stat: WINNING.

    • JoeTeam

I second that cup of Joe.

    • Rick Johnson

After Dallas took their starters out @3:49 Cliff took his starters out at the next stoppage @2:48. Then it was garbage time and 3rd string went in.

    • sport

Lin doesn’t want to be 6th man, his goal is to be starter, all-star, then championship. He really needs to demand the ball when on the court though.

    • zxcvb

For the record, I’m not saying I’m happy with Lin’s role. I’m ANGRY. Lin should be starting at SG instead of Hairston (which is to pump up Al and Batum).

But the reason he hasn’t played much these two games isn’t “demotion.” It’s BLOWOUT WINS. If Lin played tonight, I would have loved the statpadding, but the truth is, that would suggest that Lin is not an important player. When the “starters” came in, all they did was defer to Al (who got in a shouting match with Cliff). Nic and Kemba both missed their only shots.

I’ll be outraged once Lin is benched during a close game.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Not really. The starters are having a hard time holding the lead, against old, tired Mavericks. If I’m just going to base this as to how many points Al scored, I wouldn’t be saying the starters are bad.

    • Alain Gervais

Do you see this as a long term deal for Lin and hornets. If so I’m ok with today. I jut don’t think at this rate he will get the right stats

    • grover chang

I know seriously. What would this be like if the Hornets loss. Lin played in a BLOWOUT. HELLO. A BLOWOUT!!!

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

It’s not so bad because they were winning by a blowout. But if they don’t play Lin when they’re losing and his teammates are playing badly then it would really be a problem.

    • james brown

      winning Cure’s all Ills!

    • KHuang

It’s Lin’s “fault” that his reserves WRECKED the Mavs badly today!

    • JoeTeam

So anyway … one more thing to maintain positivity – whatever happens to Lin and whatever he makes happen, he is not representing anyone personally. How you know that is it is unlikely anyone on this forum is in his will.

    • sws94

Kemba doesn’t look shaky. He may get a bit out of control sometimes, but not much. Kemba looks very surehanded and knows where he wants to go on the court (even if it isn’t in a good spot at least he knows he wants to get there). Lin can look very clean at times and efficient in his ball movement and dribble, but at other times, he still gets stuck.

    • devin23

And he won’t even be a 6th man in this team cause baring injuries, Lin won’t crack 25 min on this team.

    • MEL LIN

my take of why they signed Lin.

1.) they know they were going to china this year. (Marketing)
2.) they need to fill the arena with more fans.
3.) they got jeremy for 2 million very cheap
4.) endorsement from tag and tire company

    • Alain Gervais

      Agreed

    • Briiick

Lin is who he is, a winner, a difference maker, that is why I like him. I don’t watch NBA games unless Lin is playing because I don’t like stat padding or stud making.

    • KHuang

      Al Jefferson was TOTALLY UNSTOPPABLE.

The Hornets HAD to ride his hot hand.

It would have been bad basketball not to ride Jefferson to victory.

    • KHuang

      Well written!

Please observe this site vision. If I read another negativism on any matter, without warning I’m going to delete the post. Please be warn!!! If it’s repeated offender, I will probably ban the posters temporarily. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    • devin23

That’s very likely. All that talk was PR bs. Should have known when MJ as the owner.

    • IsabeliJane*17

I’ll be outraged once Lin is benched during a close game.” – Exactly. or if they played against a contender Mavs.

    • sws94

More playing time at the 1 in the 2nd unit will get him there faster. I think he should have Zeller with him and Frank. Lin loves the perimeter shooter and the mobile center.

    • grover chang

I really feel the starters came in as a small rehearsal to see how Lamb would fit with them in the next 5 minutes, then in garbage time it was how Lamb would do with 3rd stringers with him. Answer – not as well. Recall Clifford originally wanted to try Lamb as starting SG, which really makes more sense to me then 6’2″ Lin as starting SG.

    • sport

It was either that or Dallas unless Lin had other options?

    • leeda harun

well that is true…i would like to add though they knew lin need a team

    • DaVinci633

You mean Jeremy Lamb did…Lin’s mins is Lin’s fault. He did contributed to extend the lead. But he was not an impact player in this game.

    • KHuang

Alain Gervais, do take into consideration Lin’s ultimate stat that follows him wherever he goes even on the Lakers:

      WINNING.

    • your son’s voltaire

i’m hoping for a miracle. i dunno, maybe fire Clifford and sign DAntoni

    • blubell

Been deleting posts already. I see lots of repeat offenders.

    • KHuang

      Ain’t nothing wrong with that.

Besides, Lin helped the team earn the win. Good call by Clifford then!

    • Alain Gervais

His next contract will be affected

    • Dorothy

Agreed, but we should also not fool ourselves to think everything will be fine. That is not the purpose I join this site.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

This make sense especially Lamb has missed all the preseason games if I’m not mistaken. It’s a good time to see how Lamb fitted with other players.

    • grover chang

It really got pathetic for the Mavs when Harris with no points against Lin did that sad Beverly impersonation. Then Lin drew a foul on him. At that point the reek of desperation made me feel a little sad for the mavericks.

    • cdblue10

At this stage of his career, playing less than 20mins will not do any good on him.Contract wise it will affect his value next year.On being a bench back up PG will not also give him any chance to play on a team that will showcase his talents. The main concern is,he’s going to be labelled as a secondary player on his entire career.

    • leeda harun

      mav is still a contender?

    • Steppen03

      ZXCVB,
Totally Agreed. It’s Garbage Time – Lin shouldn’t be playing. If that’s the same page as Cliff or not it’s the right move to ME. And its Only game 5 – Lin is still Adjusting to new teammates and set plays, etc… I don’t judge Cliff … yet. But I am very happy that Lin did a good job – just shots not falling… And Team BLOWOUT the opponent.

    • InfiniteWisdom

Everybody needs to stop complaining about his minutes.
1.) he didnt exactly play great.
2.) lamb DID play great, he deserved to close out the game even if it was close.
3.) hawes again was pretty useless out there. and it brought lin down with him. hes just too slow both in movement and getting his shot off. much rather cody or frank pnr with lin.
4.) there was a lot of ball watching early in the 4th. cliff pulled the 2nd unit except lamb pretty early this game, and deservedly so. lin holds on to the ball too much sometimes and nobody comes to help him or get the ball moving. im still very concerned about the 2nd unit. lamb has single handedly kept them afloat, and we cant rely on him being hot forever…

    • IsabeliJane*17

Going against EVERY positive posts though, is not cool.

    • MomentousPetey

      Lin is a solid 6’3.

    • KHuang

Alain, we Lin fans should all know by now that statistical production has NO IMPACT on Lin’s contract negotations.

Nonasian players producing less than Lin earn far more than Lin. So statistical production than Lin is of NO IMPORTANCE to NBA decisionmakers.

    • sorry I just got back.
For repeat offenders, we can enforce temporary bans if they don’t heed warning

    • sws94

I think Lin just needs to get on a good rhythm streak and he’ll be fine. His shots are going to fall in games like they did preseason. He attempted some of them, they were just a little bit off. He’ll know his team mates better, the chemistry will improve. He had a nice steal today and reverse shot. The refs were against his team, they did a terrible job in their foul calling. Lin didn’t get to the line but once on a +1.

The thing with handling pressure is as a PG, to get to a place and move the ball. Devin Harris was able to keep Lin dribbling and occupied with that rather than go into playmaking. That’s where Lin has to be more physical and nasty and say yeah, you want to pressure me, I’ll blow by you or break your ankles. So he needs to work at dribbling under tough pressure.

    • grover chang

stuck? bad shot? the other team still got the ball.

    • Briiick

Lin played great tonight and initiated the blowout.

    • leeda harun

Iam glad that hornet won but I am still waiting for cliiford’ promise….THAT MORE PLAYING TIME.!

    • IsabeliJane*17

      “If” the operative word there.

    • sws94

I agree with this analysis. We have to be able to see Lin’s weaknesses here and know that Cliff is doing things for the team. I still think he believes in Lin’s game, but some things are being exposed to him now.

    • Alain Gervais

Then your saying Lin should stay on the Hornets long term. Its still his best opportunity if he plays the minutes

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

The main course was not so satisfying tonight AND there will be no Lakers for dessert. I just love watching Kobe airball and brick!

    • KHuang

Yeah, Spencer Hawes was a LAZY BUM out there today.

Hawes needs to realize that just because he’s living off of “Lin with three guys on him” doesn’t mean that he can just lazily ballwatch.

Hawes did not come ready to play today.

    • your son’s voltaire

      it was sarcasm

    • sws94

Key point about Hawes. He helped Lin las game by shooting well and had 1 nice pass to him. But he also brings Lin down. Zeller and Kaminsky would work great with Lin. And sometimes Troy Daniels.

    • JoeTeam

If you mean this won’t be a breakout season for Lin, maybe not. I just want him to get to a great K in next year’s cap increases, and of course establish himself as a valued player start next time around. To get there, I guess games like this are ok as as long as this season he can have many many memorable games and the team gets 2 rounds into playoffs.

    • blubell

      Yes. I agree.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Thanks! I’m sick reading those posts and had to stop reading before I got too upset. Went away for a while and return to post this. Give a fair warning before I begin to delete posts.

    • grover chang

Lamb played with starters for 5 minutes as a test to see how Lamb would look with starters. Not as well it seems. That is why starters have 24 minutes instead of 17.

    • KHuang

      Yawn.

Another win, heavily contributed by Lin.

    • DaVinci633

Miami, ATL and Dallas guards have been playing full court pressure on Lin this year, ALA Heat 5 years ago. His ball handling and vision has improved in that area. Coaches will see, that Lin has overcome that weakness and its not going to work anymore. Props to Lin on that!

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Please teach me how to do this:-)

    • sws94

He’s a quality player and it’s game 5 and a blowout. It was called poorly. He did a lot of things well, some not so well. I’m still watching but I didn’t agree with some of Clifford’s rotations today, like bringing in Roberts.

    • heart

      My observations:
      1) Mavs game planned against perimeter shooters early in the game, thus gave way to Hornets plan B–Alfense.
      2) Glad Al was hitting his shot. Dirk didn’t contest him that much. He did win the game for Hornets tonight.
***3) However, this makes me think, maybe it’s STEALTH TANKING for Dallas. Usually Carlise makes very quick adjustments, he didn’t double teamed Al until the late 3rd or 4th qtr, but only for one or two minutes.
      4) Batum was the culprit when the lead was gone in 2qtr. He isos and made poor jump shots. He took the 2nd
unit out of rhythm quickly and let the Mavs erased the lead. Glad Clifford called time out to reset the tone.
      4) With new contract, Lamb is given a longer leash, so obviously he gains more confidence which translates into better shooting.
      5) Lin was targeted tonight by Mavs guards (dwill, felton, bareera, devon). Lin didn’t have many screens yet again tonight. When he was pressure on the ball, Hornets bigs were standing still and watching instead of coming up to shield him. ‘
      6) Refs were calling phantom fouls on Lin. Notice it usually happens in Texas.

    • KHuang

      Really really.

We shouldn’t be feeling sad for Lin.

Lin GOT HIS – again. And he took down his opponents in doing so.

    • MEL LIN

you guys might think I am being negative….but I am just upset that with a team like hornets he should be starting and i don’t think the coaching staff is going to give him a lot of room to make mistakes. I hope I am wrong….just worried.

    • blubell

I had to ban couple of posters after ATL games. I see couple of candidates tonight, unfortunately.

    • KHuang

No I am not saying that Lin should stay on the Hornets long term.

I am SIMPLY ENJOYING Lin’s game at the moment for the moment.

    • DaVinci633

This is when I thought Lin improved his ball handling and look more “veteran”

    • InfiniteWisdom

the threat of linsanity is much more effective than lin himself. coaches arent stupid, they know if they dont stop lin’s penetration he’ll wreck em. this helps lamb and everyone else on the 2nd unit. what i dont get is why is hawes the one setting the screens? it should be zeller. hawes should be parked in the corner.

    • Singapore BB Fan

Look at the schedule for the next few games…

      Sun, 8 Nov @ Spurs
      Wed, 11 Nov @ Timberwolves
Thu, 12 Nov (home) vs Knicks
      Sat, 14 Nov @ Bulls
Mon, 16 Nov (home) vs Trail Blazers
      Wed, 18 Nov @ Knicks
Thu, 19 Nov (home) vs Nets

Spurs is no pushover…doubt AJeff can keep up with the pace.

    • Alain Gervais

The travel was very weird . Lin didn’t move

    • blubell
    • Rick Johnson

Exactly, was thinking the same thing. Enjoy watching JLin early and Lakers getting embarrassed later.

    • blubell
    • JoeTeam

Try Curry games they are fun too.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

They did beat the Lakers though.

    • Michael

      Peekaboo

    • your son’s voltaire

number 1 is so true. but even so, Mavs’ defense was still bad. Hornets’ perimeter players just didn’t hit a lot of open shots

    • Steppen03

      I’m TOTALLY Satisfied.
#1) A Huge Win (against Cuban’s pet team).
#2) Lin just have to keep improving and be more aggressive. Exposed ? Weakness ? Well, whatever it is – It is another learning curve to become a complete player. He’s not perfect. No Steph Curry but he’s improved drastically. Just need more time – to play “Free and Unchained” (get rid of bad thoughts from LA and Hou).

    • KHuang

I doubt the Spurs can keep pace with Al Jefferson!

The Spurs have been SIGNIFICANTLY WEAKENED by the LaMarcus Aldridge signing.

Aldridge looks overweight and overfed to me. He’s stumbling around out there, lacking fundamentals and playing low efficiency basketball.

    • Alain Gervais

fair enough. i may change my view for lin on this team for more longer term. his scoring won’t be great this year. Minutes have been too up and down.

    • InfiniteWisdom

hawes doesnt move his feet. even that TO was hawes not sealing his man… and of course lin gets the TO on record but the pass wasnt that bad if at all. hawes is just LAZY…

    • blubell

      I see you… for now… muhahaha

    • DaVinci633

Pick N Pop Hawes. he just needs to catch the freakin ball and not give Lin a TO

    • heart

You’re right. And that’s why Alfense worked bc he was hitting shot and bc of Dirk & Mavs’ bigs poor defense.

    • JoeTeam

      I now say 6-1.

    • grover chang

True nothing to sneeze at beating the Middle Eastern Conference Champions – Lakers.

    • CJSHYY

So the big didn’t set the screen for Lin? Mavs guards targeted Lin…? That’s what Paul said to me why Lin played so less min this game.

    • cdblue10

I just hope that Clifford will let him finish the game since he’s the one controlling the tempo and help the team pull away to ensure the win.Pulling him out at that time is asinine since he just got a TO from a team mate that dosn’t move his bum.I just question the timing of the substitution since the game is already decided at the 6 min mark.

    • KHuang

Hawes and Zeller need to stop BALLWATCHING.

Their hero is Lin, but even heroes need help!

    • microserf

      Winning AND having fun 🙂

    • IsabeliJane*17

      I say 5-2. I’m being generous hahaha.

    • DaVinci633

He has to learn to catch before passing. Kaminsky seems more promising from preseason with Lin…

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Lin played great in LA after the AS break. So this notion that Lin has to heal from PTSD is not valid.

    • grover chang

Very True. I’m surprised. Also surprised that Spurs are pulling a Daryl Morey and playing LA big minutes even when not necessary to pad his stats and justify their blunder.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

I know. That’s why JLin was unfair targeted by Mavs players plus refs. Wish his teammates helped him out but they didn’t. Am extremely glad that JLin was out before he was hurt as they were extremely physical to him and refs helped Mavs. Since this is a blowup game, I’m just glad that JLin is able to stay healthy. Season is still long, another 77 games to go. Anything can happen between now and then. If this is further into the season and JLin is playing very little minutes, I’m going to be very upset esp when game is online, but not in today’s game.

    • KHuang

Hawes is CHERRYPICKING, hoping that Lin will just keep siphoning his man away.

Hawes is more damaging to Lin than opponents are.

Clifford should BENCH HIM for Kaminsky or Hansbrough. Hawes has not earned his minutes, and frankly neither has Zeller.

    • Uh-Oh

      沧海桑田.

    • InfiniteWisdom

his release is slow as heck. he cant pick n pop because of this. that’s why he keeps pump faking and driving… frank also has a pretty slow release but at least he moves his feet. hawes is lazy and doesnt move.

    • Whitman Lam

Yeah, those back to backs are insane! Play @ Minnesota, then fly home to play the Knicks the next night.

    • your son’s voltaire

Hawes is playing a lot like Boozer. always waving for the ball from Lin when they have no position and too lazy to go get it. causing a lot of TO’s for Lin

    • Rzo Vlade

after this year exercise the player option and then sign with a contending team same minutes have a chance to win a ring…….hornets are trash team for many years so they have nothing to brag

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Nop they didn’t. No one came to help JLin when he was unfairly targeted. Really didn’t want JLin to get hurt.

    • MEL LIN

good luck with that.. he won’t

    • I think we all want JLin to have more minutes as a starter.

I haven’t watched 2nd half but let’s put it this way, if Lin doesn’t get to play many minutes as the 6th Man or a chance to be starter by end of season, he’ll definitely leave for another team next season. It will be the Hornets loss.

Let’s see how things unfold and keep Linning for now

    • JoeTeam

I bet Lin changes his hair once he gets what he wants on this team …

    • KHuang

If Zeller continues to eat food before games and Hawes finally decides to actually start HUSTLING, the Hornets could EASILY go 7-0.

    • DaVinci633

I don’t like Hawes! have Lin play with the starters, then I’ll be happy.

    • grover chang

I liked Marvin Williams and Jeremy Lamb. Very smooth within the flow of the game performances. I liked Big AL’s offense and glad to have his post game as an option. I hate Big AL’s tortoise defense. His defense makes me question if his offense is even worth it.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! That’s what Paul told me too. So Mav tried to hurt Lin on purpose? (I didn’t watch the full game) Why his teammates didn’t help Lin?

    • MomentousPetey

Ofcourse, he can always work on that, but I don’t think he as any fundamental problem dribbling under pressure. The refs just swallowed their whistles.

    • your son’s voltaire

he should have signed with the Spurs already if he was gonna play for $2 MIL. i was saying all along how that would have been the best move

    • KHuang

      I’m not surprised.

I called a MAJOR LEAGUE FAIL on Aldridge before he even joined the Spurs.

I knew that he would be incapable of playing fundamentally sound Spurs basketball.

    • DaVinci633

Lin is going to woo his new team with his new hairstyle in 2016 =)

    • IsabeliJane*17

      1. Usual game plan against Jeremy is “play him hard one-on-one”
      2. For some unexplained reasons the Hornets bigs “forgot” how to set screens.

    • CJSHYY

What? How could this happen? So you think coach did the right thing to pull Lin out? I really hate Mav now… smh!

    • Why did Al blow up to Coach Clifford?

I wonder if it will affect his PT and role. It didn’t look good

      https://twitter.com/NBAcom/status/662482829566222336

    • Rzo Vlade

yep same minutes but better chance at ring hornets are borderline 8th seed

    • grover chang

I said I was sad for the mavericks because Harris busy hand defense looked so desperate.

    • KHuang

At least Boozer cut, screened, defended, passed, and CONVERTED.

      Plus Boozer played hard.

I had no issues with Boozer last year.

But Hawes? Now I know why he keeps bouncing from team to team. He does not consistently hustle.

    • DaVinci633

He wants JLin to have more minutes that’s why! DUH! He is upset just like us.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

No idea. The game moved too quickly for me to diagnose the problems. When I saw that I was literally worry about JLin. Not sure when it was today’s game and/or last game, I saw JLin shook his right hand when he went to the paint. Apparently his shooting was bumped pretty bad. Maybe that’s why JLin’s hasn’t been able to shoot well. Saw at least 2-3 times happened now to his shooting hand.

    • your son’s voltaire

and there’s nothing wrong with backing up Parker/Manu. there is however something seriously wrong with backing up PJ/Price/Beverley types

    • CJSHYY

So weird. Hawes said yesterday how much likes to play w Lin? But today he played so bad… smh!!

    • Briiick

Yes. Lin fans will follow him. If no team wants him, I stop watching NBA.

    • Alain Gervais

especially given his play all year. he had a mismatch today.

    • leeda harun

I think we have to see and wait again.

    • your son’s voltaire

interesting to find out why. my guess is defense. not getting back on transition defense

    • KHuang

It happened because Hawes WASN’T READY TO PLAY.

If Lin gets loaded up on, teammates have to execute their cuts and screens.

Hawes is wanting Lin to feed him, but Hawes won’t move his feet to get to spots where Lin can feed him. PURE LAZINESS.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Clifford probably ragged him out on being lazy on defense and rebounding.

    • KHuang

      Spurs didn’t want Lin.

    • CJSHYY

I remember during Linsanity period, some of the teams did try to hurt him on purpose. Now I feel much better about Lin played so less min today. BTW, did you see CP & Lin talk after the game? They seem to be not as close as before…

    • your son’s voltaire

i don’t know what lakers games you watched but i didn’t see any Boozer defending or passing

    • JLin Fan from Australia

JLin didn’t play to any players of your mention except a little with Zeller. It’s not helping JLin at all.

    • heart

It was obvious that Lin was targeted. Both guards pressured him and wouldn’t let him cross court or pass easily. Clifford needs to have a plan against these kind of entrapments against Lin. It’s not only on Lin when he has no helper. We’ve seen this in Hawks games. Clifford needs to tell/show his bigs & Lin what to do in situation. Teams will continue to use this tactic until it’s not effective any more.

    • grover chang

I did not like Lin’s facial expression during the exchange. He looked generally shocked by it. AL was hot and got the right match up from Carlise, but he shouldn’t get too full of himself. Many nights other teams will pack it in more and give Al headaches.

    • Alain Gervais

Big Al don’t fit in the offense. His defense is a big issue. We would blow out Mavs without him

    • Rzo Vlade

how do you know……jlin said couple of teams are talking to him

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Exactly…Lin should had driven by him instead of trying to suck up the pressure while standing in one spot…..Lin doesn’t have quick stand-still power dribble like Kemba…so he needs to keep moving and use his big body to blow past the guy that is guarding him.

    • grover chang

I’m afraid that is the best defense Al could play. Too slow and heavy for todays game.

    • your son’s voltaire

you don’t know that. Lin should have went and talk to them instead of the Knicks

    • could be; Coach Clifford’s motion seemed to indicate blocking out or something?

Definitely not good yelling at a Coach in public like that

    • blubell
    • John Focker

Fortunately NOT everyone thinks like that, or else we wouldn’t have the Spurs.

    • KHuang

      Boozer defended and passed plenty.

You just didn’t see it, especially when Lin and Boozer were on the NBA’s highesr producing bench last season.

Boozer was particularly effective in defense on the perimeter. He and Lin were in total synch in defending pick and rolls.

    • Steppen03

Are we judging Coach Cliff after 5 games ?? Come on, Spurs …? He will have zero chance of shinning there. On Hornets, he will have more than 75% chance to shine over Kemba. Plus, This Team with Lin’s help CAN grab Top 4 in EC. Just wait and see.

    • microserf

Lots of Lin fans noticed that plays during those preseason games are VERY different from the way they run plays for Lin now. Multiple screens, etc. But agree with KHuang, Charlotte knows Lin is important to the team. I’ll take the WW and hope for a bigger role for Lin.

    • IsabeliJane*17

He could have at least boxed out to clear the boards.. but NOOOO.

    • grover chang

KHuang, you still don’t miss Ed Davis now?

    • JoeTeam

hope so, this one is easy to get bored with.

    • KHuang

      I DO know that.

Had the Spurs wanted Lin, they’d have offered him a formal contract that would have been reported on hoopshype or NBA.com.

No contract was reported bexause no contract EVER EXISTED.

    • Dorothy

To help Lin with referees. I think someone who is good with Youtube can collect all the phantom calls and no calls on Lin to a short film (like Harden did not play defense 2 years ago) and post it on Youtube. Then spread it to all Lin fans worldwide (of course mostly from China) to make it sever million clicks in a short period of time. Then notify NBA officials. I am sure this will make some noises.

    • your son’s voltaire

i saw a lot of excellent Ed Davis and Lin pnr defense. you must be thinking of Ed Davis

    • KHuang

“Talking” doesn’t mean squat in business.

      No contract, NO DEAL.

    • Rzo Vlade

lol he will have the same minutes as this trash hornets……but have a chance on ring …..he can also go to bulls for 2m

    • DaVinci633

I want to see Lin next game 20pts 7ast in 27Mins!!

    • Rzo Vlade

lol thats why negotiation……talking means interest

    • LW

If Lin plays 30min with 20pts tonight but the Hornets are 1-4 in a blowout. Will this make some of you feel better?

    • CJSHYY

Wow! That’s really bad… why? He got good stats already…?!

    • your son’s voltaire

just because they didn’t offer him a contract, doesn’t mean they didn’t want him. what i was saying is that had he went to the with his measly $2 MIL offer, they’d snap him up right away. same with every team in the NBA. nobody knew he’d go with the Hornets for that price

    • blubell
    • blubell
    • Dorothy

If Lin played 30 min, CHA will win lol

    • definitely .. PT & role will determine if JLin has a future with them.
I’m going to finish watching 2nd half to understand more about the flow of the game

    • IsabeliJane*17

My only concern about Jeremy’s minutes is play him MORE, even let him close out the game, against TOP CONTENDERS or if the game is CLOSE.

But against the Mavericks? Nah. Better save his energy playing against TD’s Spurs.

    • cdblue10

NO.It just depends on how you see the game. And if he scores 20 points,I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna be a blow out.

    • your son’s voltaire

KHuang, you seem to be missing something. had Lin went to them with his measly $2 MIL offer, EVERY NBA team would snap him up. the Hornets were lucky

    • CJSHYY

I think they set up to let him pad his stats today… maybe for trade… See even during trash time he got to pad his stats…

    • grover chang

I know, I saw a lot of Boozer pushing. Still love the guy and would not mind seeing old Carlos on this team. He seemed to make Lin laugh too.

    • will do.. will DM you later 🙂

    • KHuang

      It won’t make a difference.

NBA officials protect home teams from embarrassing themselves. They do so by cheating guys like Lin.

JE Ballew and I went to a Spurs vs Suns game in Phx last season. No Lin.

The Spurs WRECKED the Suns on the home court in the 1st quarter. Went up 20 points.

Then from there, the ref cheating started. And the Spurs lost.

I remember Coach Popovich taking it all in stride and NOT raising a stink. See, Popovich knew that the NBA doesn’t ref fairly in order to protect home teams from losing their fanbase.

    • Michael

That last comment by Kenny was funny. “No coach I am not going to shoot! I want to pass it to my teammates!”

    • InfiniteWisdom

i would only start freaking out if coach cliff starts closing games with lamb and not lin without a clear reason. perhaps they need length that game or maybe lamb was hot. that i understand. what i wouldnt understand is theoreticals. if lin and lamb struggle, then who he chooses to play shows who he has more confidence in. if it’s lamb, then lin’s minutes will go way down. let’s hope it’s just the blowouts affecting his minutes and not lamb being the go to guy from the 2nd unit.

    • steven ko

doubt that. no one who is slow and heavy can hit 15 of 18 shots against NBA competition. big Al is just too lazy…

    • Rzo Vlade

all I want is proof of your claim……jlin said some teams talk to him and clifford and hornets think wants him…..my source is jlin tne news comes from the man himself

    • JoeTeam

I’ve always liked seller cuz for a tall guy, he can dribble.

    • james brown

well they are on the road, some play more time and some might not only to preserve players stamina for the next game..its a blow out and need now to Cater to the CATERED players!LOL

    • Dorothy

True, but when it becomes international known, NBA will try to be politically correct 🙂

    • MEL LIN

      that will be the case

    • your son’s voltaire

no doubt about it. what’s sad is they (Hornets coaches) don’t see that if they started Lin or plays him heavy minutes, they’d be destroying teams. but they’re just happy that they got a win against a bad team

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Yeah, I was pretty upset about that turnover..I felt Hawes should had done better keeping his man from reaching and grabbing the ball.

    • KHuang

      NO.

      You are TOTALLY WRONG.

Lin’s agent went around the whole NBA, soliciting interest.

Most teams turned Lin down flat.

Some, like the Grizzlies and Mavs, did actually talk to Lin’s agent. But those teams REFUSED to offer money to Lin.

    • james brown

playing lamb in a blow out game is not a good practice if you value LAMB MORE..maybe it a good test of his endurance and good practice for his shooting but to play him even if its already a won game is somewhat questionable due to the fact that players CAN BE INJURED with out a warning!

    • DaVinci633

If Lin plays 30min with 0pts tonight but the hornets are 1-4 in a blowout. Will this make you feel better?

    • KHuang

The “proof” is that nobody else offered Lin a formal contract.

Lin SAID SO himself in his introductory press conference.

    • KHuang

      NO.

      In business, CONTRACT means interest.

Talking with no contract means NO INTEREST.

    • Rzo Vlade

lol how do you know…. proof……..report is grizzlies want jlin to be lock long term and no promise of what kind of role he will be given…….lol maybe thats your sauces

    • Alain Gervais

Yea. Im relaxing a little bit but don’t like the momentum of Lins minutes but the blow out may have done it

    • your son’s voltaire

not sure how u know all that. but i’m certain it’s wrong. the only team that Lin’s agent actually talked to was the NY KNICKS who refused to even talk. no money offer was presented

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Nop. I turned the feed off immediately after the game was over. The streaming was rather annoying this game. The voice often lagged at least a good 20-30 seconds behind the play in Hornets announcers. I switched it to Mavs feed and what they said wasn’t too pleasant at times.

Having said that, I did see one possession JLin was with Parsons on the court after a timeout. Seem like they didn’t talk to each other even when the play hasn’t started.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

      Thanks!

    • Brent Yen

easy for you to say…LOL jk

    • cdblue10

Noah’s fave coach is Thibs,Thibs is friend of Clifford,Noah is not happy with BUlls, his type of game is what Clifford is looking for, a defensive minded big w/ a lot of motor…a big possibilty.

    • KHuang

      NO.

      You cannot be more wrong.

Memphis never offered Lin a written contract. That would have been REPORTED on hoopshype and NBA.com.

Memphis “talked” to Lin, just like NY “talked” to Lin before NY EJECTED Lin.

If a team “talks” to a player, it does not mean that the team is willing to put its money where its mouth is. Otherwise Lin would still be a Knick.

    • DaVinci633

sigh…I quit watching basketball in the first place because of the Refs!! I came back because of Lin and only Lin! I left during Yao era where flopping was annoying as h***! Lin made me forgot about NBA game rigging… You just reminded me of this. waah I’m even more mad now cus I’m reminded of this problem 10 years ago!!

    • grover chang

Bottomline. We want Lin to have the glory, just like Linsanity. Credit the win to Lin. The Asian undrafted kid from Harvard was no fluke. ESPN. Sports Illustrated. NBA vets. Lin talk of the NBA. That’s what we want and we want it now. All the glory to Lin, but that is not Lin’s priority so we grow frustrated. Kato doesn’t want to be Bruce Lee. He is happy just being with the Hornets. Part of a team. Accepted by peers and God, not accepted by the fame we want him to have.

    • Sundown

They had both cooled down and were with their arms around each other’s backs before end of game. Just a heat of the moment thing.

    • JJ Hui

Maybe Coach Cliff wants to preserve Lin’s energy to play Spurs, which is a much tougher team than Mav.

    • Rzo Vlade

      ok insider

    • blubell

Clifford mentioned Lamb’s lack of endurance due to coming back from injury.

    • KHuang

I KNOW all that because that’s HOW IT WAS REPORTED.

You are totally wrong. I watched this closely all summer.

For decades, I have watch teams TALK GARBAGE about wanting players but refuse to offer them formal contracts. That’s why I don’t fall for their stunts and you do.

    • Michael

Sadly the NBA has not really done anything against poor reffing (is this even a word?). If wrong calls can decide NBA finals games, it’s hard to have faith that the NBA will do anything about it.

    • leeda harun

let see if your prediction comes true

    • Alain Gervais

If Lin averages 27 minutes theres no doubt he scores 14plus.

    • Rzo Vlade

      stop hogging the ball overated

    • Spyckie

Lamb is the type of player that needs a serious confidence boost – like 3-6 games where he is just killing it – in order to break out into his potential. He’s been hovering on breakout for 3 years, and I think the whole team wants him to develop into a useful player. I’m glad he is getting extra time because his game is very much based on his confidence.

The 2nd unit was getting A LOT of body contact – very physical play to prevent anything from happening. I think it’s because the hornets were playing suffocating D. If you noticed there was a stretch where the Mavs couldn’t get anything at all going at all. It was all chucking from > 15 feet. I think they were really mad that they couldn’t score and there was a period of very physical play – Zeller getting flagranted, Lin getting hounded. The refs did not help either.

The way to punish physical play is to create space and shoot. I think Lin was doing that but he just didn’t convert on the plays where he did get open.

I don’t like Hawes running the offense with Lin. I think I can understand the thought – Cody is a young blood, great athlete but doesn’t have the decision making yet to know what to do with the ball – Lamb is also green behind the ears in terms of initiating the offense, so run with the veteran. BUT Hawes is really sloppy and doesn’t have the tools to create an advantage on the court, even if he has decent vision/passing.

      *edit – wow the formatting*

    • Alain Gervais

I like your optimism. unfortunately i got ptsd.

    • Michael

So you are 11. 100% logic.

    • IsabeliJane*17

Stop playing 2, go back to playing 3, and we’ll be fine.

    • InfiniteWisdom

there wasnt anybody else really. but im talking about the future. if both lin and lamb play bad, and he chooses to play lamb? that’s a huge sign… we’ll just have to wait and see

    • Sundown

Bad for the team, great for fans. Can really get a good basketball fix.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes. It’s better be to me. Yes I wish JLin played more but it was a blowout game. As someone said down below, Coach all starters back in with Lamb at about 6 minutes. They played slightly over 3 minutes with Lamb. The hutch was Coach wanted to test Lamb with the starters. It was true that Lamb was hurt in preseason. Hence, he didn’t have much chance to play with starters and then with 3rd unit. Coach tested out the rotation with Lamb.

    • KHuang

One doesn’t have to be an “insider” to observe that Lin was not a Knick after they “talked” to Lin about “matching him up to one billion” but then refusing to offer Lin a formal written contract.

    • JJ Hui

      Ohoh im doom! Lol!

    • Steppen03

      Seriously ??
Why are you trashing Lin’s team right now ?? Lin will get his PT – at least 25+ min when the game is on the line. But Lin have to perform well too. Lamb was hot tonight. You just go with the Hot hand. Lin will break out this season – he will have Coach Cliff’s full support. Just talk about this season, NOT the next.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

This is quite true in this game.

    • InfiniteWisdom

yeah like how mchale closed the game with toney douglas the first time. only one game right? wrong… if we start seeing signs, that means cliff has lost confidence in lin and has transferred it to their new 21 million dollar man.

    • KHuang

Hawes has the instincts, physicality, and tools.

      He even admires Lin.

Hawes needs to STOP ADMIRING and START PLAYING.

    • Alain Gervais

      shhhhh…..

    • your son’s voltaire

well Clifford has been harping on transition defense from the very start

    • KHuang

      Speak for yourself about “glory”.

I just want Lin to do as much as he can to win in whatever minutes he receives.

He did that, so I am satisfied.

    • devin23

Honestly. Lin needs to fire his agent. He was SUPPOSE to come to the hornets for LESS money but a BIGGER role so hence MORE minutes and usage. Instead, he’s getting less minutes here than anytime in his career since he was rookie. Fool gold is the charlotte hornets.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

It’s great that you keep calling Lin’s team trash as often as you can. That’s very constructive and it lifts everyone’s spirits. But now that we know that Lin is stuck on a trash team I wonder what can be done about it.

    • cdblue10

Geez you don’t even look at Lin’s side to even just pretend passing the ball even if it’s not:-)

    • GoodDayLA

thats lin’s fault too for hiring the agents he hired. Lin has done all he could.

    • KHuang

DUMB HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION with no basis to reality.

Don’t bait people on this forum.

    • Alain Gervais

If you don’t say it, it may not come true

    • Rick Johnson

JLin has been a Spurs killer. Maybe it’s the breakout game. I think the Rockets swept the Spurs one season.

    • heart

Just checked box score. Batum has 8 pts 0/5 3PM in 34min. Batum is definitely playing out of position. His shooting needs to improve. Marvin is showing confidence and shooting days out by playing Batum’s spot.

    • David Kim

I didn’t watch the game… Why Lin only played 17mins? Foul troubles??

    • InfiniteWisdom

that hawes post up hook? hot garbage. i thought frank was nba ready? why isnt hawes strictly a floor spacer? i mean he simply swings it to lamb on the weakside anyways not like he initiates the offense? why cant cody or frank do this? and dont even talk about d….

    • kauaiblue

      Whos even reading batums twits?

    • your son’s voltaire

you can’t just go by what’s reported. we’re talking about interests here. the Hornets went after Lin and got him for $2 Mil so the other teams simply missed out. they had no idea he would be available for that little

    • Joe what do you know

Opinions can be had after 5 games. But it’s too early for a conclusion.

    • blubell

Foul troubles, ref troubles, blowout troubles, you name it. lol

    • devin23

I have to say, some ppl giving the loom and gloom was actually right. He’s not getting 25 min if everyone is health with this rotation.

    • InfiniteWisdom

      hawes troubles

    • David Kim

      oh no…

    • IsabeliJane*17

      *cue “Trouble” by Taylor Swift*

    • your son’s voltaire

not sure but certainly not cus of foul troubles. PJ had 4 and he didn’t get yanked

    • KHuang

If the NBA reffed games cleanly, it would SINK THE LEAGUE FINANCIALLY.

Many home teams would be decimated by bad ticket sales in bad blowouts worse than today.

Had Lin gotten proper foul calls this game, he’d have had like 15 points and less turnovers.

That would be adding LINSULT TO LINJURY to an unhappy Mavs fanbase that doesn’t want to pay hard earned money to see the home team get run off its own court.

I view the NBA as having SCRIPTED ENDINGS, sorta like pro wrestling or kung fu movies.

    • heart

Blow out game. Lin was targeted by Mavs guards and refs were calling phantom fouls. The usual no bigs screens. IMO, personally, it’s due to Mavs’ poor defense & stealth tanking.

    • leeda harun

for someone to hogs the ball..

      please pass the.ball..smh

    • Joe what do you know

      Refs dunked all over Lin…
Lin had a few TOs (steals by Refs)
      Refs were triple teaming Lin…

    • your son’s voltaire

haha couldn’t be farther from the truth

    • MEL LIN

the only way to stay and get more mins is to hit half court shot on a nightly basis

    • Michael

If they tried hack a Lin it wouldn’t work, cause the refs wouldn’t blow their whistles. = =

    • your son’s voltaire

Refs should have called foul on themselves but were too busy flopping

    • KHuang

      WRONG.

Lin’s agent has MAXIMIZED Lin’s value.

Any agent who represents an Asian American entertainer HAS IT HARD. I of all people know this, as it’s hard for my agents to sell me too.

    • KHuang

Never too early for a DELUSION!

    • blubell

Everytime I see your avatar, I find myself reaching for the ban button… lol.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

KHuang stop repeating that same BS over and over. First a verbal agreement has to be reached. Only then a written contract is drawn up. Just because you keep repeating something doesn’t make it true.

    • devin23

Do I think clfford is a bad coach? No, actually I think he’s underrated as a coach. Do I think all that talk about him loving jeremy lin’s skillset, and about him thinking linsanity will happen and all that was just mostly PR? Absolutely. They just signed Lin to fit a need, which is the backup PG cause robert really sucks. They had no intention of giving Lin extended minutes.

    • Michael

That avatar and Infinite Wisdom right beside it. Lol.

    • DaVinci633

that’s what hypothetical question is…not a question that exist or even have to be based in reality… Its clearly to see what person would do/feel in that scenario. To get an idea why/who/what the person’s goal/motive/identity.

    • KHuang

Actually, the best way for Lin to get more minutes is to KICK HAWES IN THE HEAD if Hawes bottles up the offense by standing around not running plays.

    • InfiniteWisdom

respect your military. top 3 protected? no prob. TANK ON!

    • heart

Yes, and get that rebound to hit it or run and drive all the way to the basket.

    • KHuang

      That’s why I just ENJOY LIN’S GAME.

There are many nights when the NBA’s rigging prevents Lin from having a truly successful game.

    • GoodDayLA

chances in the nba are rare. his legacy will be opening the door for minorities, particularly asians, to believe they can do well in major league sports.

      Bravo to him.

Nothing to watch anymore unless Kemba gets hurt or many people get traded.

    • leeda harun

and than they gonna say lin likes homerun…reminded of mchale again.
      .

    • DaVinci633

so far I think he is a pretty good coach. I believe he is pro JLin.

    • heart

I was going to ask him the same thing.

    • Lam

I rather listen to “let it go”.

    • JJ Hui

I dont think so! When Lin struggled in other night, Coach C let him played 4th Q and closed game, so dont judge with only one game, not enough samples to do that. 🙂
Maybe coach wants Lin to play more against tough Spurs team!

    • Michael

Not me, til today. @disqus_3ojL2FVU9I:disqus ‘s fault.

    • devin23

I know how u feel. maybe one day another asian american will emerge, actualy become a lottery pick AND become a star. In my lifetime, hopefully…

    • leeda harun

i think clifford need to honor his promise..or is it just talks

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

So not only does this coach not truly value JLin but he happens to be a wise coach. And Jlin believed his BS promises and signed for peanuts? What’s the good news ?

    • Alain Gervais

i disagree. I’m more pissed at his minutes everything else is good. i think if lin was 25 2-3 year with this team he would be a boss. its the first 5 years so everyone is struggling with consistent productions because of blow outs and matches. i just don’t know if lin will be here long term. Especially of he is 27. TBH id stay but idk if starting would be done for his career.

    • blubell

      tattle-tale…

    • Alain Gervais

      Your giving up too early

    • your son’s voltaire

well, even if you’re not exactly KHuangsanity, you may find it more advantageous with show a little s3x appeal in your line of business to get ahead, KHuang

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Well, Lamb has a 3 year contract, so one would think the Hornets would prioritize giving Lamb more time on the court than Lin..Unless Lin is playing well that game.

Tonight wasn’t really a good case to give Lin more minutes since he wasn’t shooting well…so We as Lin fan should get use to this…Lin will only play more than 20mpg if he’s shooting well…We shouldn’t count on him to get more than 20minute if he’s not shooting well.

    • DaVinci633

      traveling TO was BS tonight!!

    • your son’s voltaire

      infinite sarcasm

    • heart

As long as he scores. We don’t care and he shouldn’t care at this point in his career.

    • Briiick

Well said. I have seen enough following Lin since Linsanity. Now if Lin can’t find a place in the league, it’s a waste of time for me to continue watching, and I know a lot of people have done so already.

    • devin23

Lin is a good trustworthy christian. But the NBA is a cutthroat business.

    • orLinaryjoe

Fan troubles, hair troubles, gel issues, you name it.

    • Acbc

Ever consider that Clifford is saving Lin because it’s a long tough road trip? It’s a fr!ggen blowout. Give it rest with all the wining.

    • GoodDayLA

i believe nba keeps games close and swallow whistle last 3-5 minutes and usually better team wins. seems that way for last 40 years.

    • Michael

      Word.

    • your son’s voltaire

he just needs to not pass it to Hawes asking for the ball on the perimeter

    • I’ve got interesting answer from Paul that Harris tried to rattle JLin a bit; that could’ve influenced less min.
I need to finish watching 2nd half to see if it might be true.

Note: I’ll create a Postgame thread soon

      https://twitter.com/CNM_JLin_Vids/status/662497578597003264

    • leeda harun

      imo..
      dont think so….

    • devin23

Like some have already mentioned, then why did the STARTERS play extended minutes at the 4th quarter?

    • InfiniteWisdom

people have to understand lin’s chemistry with his big/screener is paramount to his game. hawes is killing him. his release is so slow he cant even attempt 3s off the pick n pop. therefore he ends up being useless out there. if he shoots and misses that’s one thing. but he isnt even shooting. he’s doing post up hook shots and airballing floaters… like really what the heck is going on?

imo lin and cody is a connection that hasnt been exploited yet… i get it, the 2 man game isnt exactly team ball/ball movement. but still i digress, it has been woefully absent.

    • heart

I see. But it’s a reminder of the painful past… That ‘Infinite Wisdom’ Need to wise up and use a better pic, something more uplifting.

    • Michael

Is it a flagrant foul if you kick your own teammate in the head?

    • DaVinci633

what was his promise? I only remember him saying he will has the chance to be Linsanity and Clifford believes in Jlin’s potential. My problem is Lin, seems to shy away from his potential. He needs to force things more. If he forces too much, we can see. But he doesn’t force things enough. I believe he can break through some of these opponent schemes planned out for him.

    • Wayne Li

BigAL and Cliff had a heated moment in the game and I am not sure what was about, but now it became a talking point of NBA News.

    • your son’s voltaire

i thought Harris failed trying to rattle Lin cus he received a foul. then immediately, the Refs called a bogus travel call on Lin. and Clifford fell for it by taking Lin out

    • cdblue10

The timing of the substitution was questionable though,he should have let him played for another 30secs-min and take him out on a good situation, not like he’s the one at fault causing the decline of team play.

    • your son’s voltaire

agreed, really miss Ed Davis and Tyson Chandler right now

    • JJ Hui

He plays 1 too! It was irritating when he TO!

    • InfiniteWisdom

all the starters except lamb not pj came in. pretty early too. imo it had to do with lin not handling the pressure, no ball movement, and ball watching…

    • DaVinci633

your many comments have been spot on man!

    • james brown

there are two contracts in law..ORAL and WRITTEN (bothe are accepted with limitations)…both may agree orally in the beginning of the talk, (given the Jordan talks) and afterward sign a contract, or a written contract agreement. meaning it is NOT binding until a written contract has reached

    • heart

Actually, I meant to tell you I like your avatar pic. Very funny. It makes me laugh when I first saw it.

    • leeda harun

nba needs drama..to spice things up…dont worry Al still gonna have his minutes

    • sws94

And what does Lin need to do? He played Lin in games 1-3 in the closing minutes although Lin made mistakes in games 2 and 3. We don’t know all that goes on. If Lin was doing some of the things he and Cliff talked about on films Cliff told him to avoid, then he goes out of the game and Cliff reiterates these to him. Not everything is what we see.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      You need an h

    • sws94

I agree. Stop making Lin the eternal victim. Sometimes Lin is at fault for not getting as much trust in his team mates and coach due to his play and nothing else.

    • Hope

Wow , just wow. He claimed he knows basketball. Linn just finished &1 play, followed with a TO. He looked tired. Coach took him out for a breather. If the starters can’t hold the lead, lib will be in at 6 or 5 minutes mark.

    • Michael

I think heart wants you to fire a Kamehameha at Wisdoms Avatar.

    • leeda harun

i think hornet got their A team..walker batum lamb mkg al cody hawed kaminsky roberts. no need of jlin unless the team struggles badly.

    • sws94

I don’t think so. But it is a dysfunctional team if you do it on the court when playing an opponent.

    • FSW

Hope it doesn’t mess with his confidence

    • DaBoss

it blew over. When Al came out in 4th Cifford and Al spoke to each other – didn’t see any problem at that time.

    • David Kim

i am not saying Clifford is a bad coach. He is a good coach… but i miss Mike Dantoni today..

One of them was former Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni. According to ESPN’s Pablo S. Torre, D’Antoni was the first one to call Lin following the trade and talked about the missed reunion between the two:

As the clock ticked toward 3 a.m. in Lin’s hotel room, his mom, Shirley, handed him the phone for his inaugural conversation as a Laker. “Oh my gosh,” Mike D’Antoni told Jeremy, in his unmistakable West Virginia twang. “I can’t believe we missed each other.”

Lin’s breakthrough came under D’Antoni while the two where in New York. D’Antoni also praised his former point guard and called him “special,” via Torre:

Now he was calling Lin only eight weeks after resigning as coach of the Lakers amid discord with, yes, Kobe Bryant. “You hate to miss an opportunity to coach somebody that receptive, that good,” D’Antoni says. “He’s one of those special point guards.”

    • your son’s voltaire

thanks! i actually like seeing Lin play in his Young Gohan mode. he did really well in his first 2 preseason games with it. it’s like he’s flying under the radar

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

.I don’t think the Hornets or Cliff saw Lin as anything more than a nice bench players that could come in in some night and win them some game when he’s hot….The Lamb signing seems to suggest Lin won’t see too many minutes at the SG spot so that he could get the 25mpg.

    • blubell

LOL. Nice. You actually gave him an honest answer.

    • DaVinci633

I didn’t think Lin was rattled, he handled it well. Lin was then called for a travel after he drew a foul. maybe one of the refs tried to balanced out an erroneous foul call on harris. That travel looks bogus.

    • leeda harun

lin and dantoni will always have special bonding …my dream is they can be on a same team again .

    • your son’s voltaire

oh man. isn’t that the 1000 punch? i don’t watch Dragon Ballz but find all the references funny

    • CJSHYY

I think like Paul said Mav’s guards targeted Lin on purpose that’s why coach pulled him out. I think it’s good bc no need to stay since it’s big win.

    • David Kim

      Lin and mike dantoni

    • InfiniteWisdom

well that’s the play. pass to hawes and hawes can pass to lamb or handoff, etc. the problem is they couldnt care less about hawes at the top and will throw everything at lin to stop his penetration. have cody set the screens and rim run a few times and see how bold they get after a few dunks….

yes hawes is a good passer, but his general slowness is his downfall. as well as dragging lin down with him. lamb however has a lot of space to operate. its not a coincidence lin went off in preseason as the 2 guard and now lamb is going off…

Watch Cliff & Al Jeff at end of video

    • cdblue10

On the pattern of substitution,Lin is 9th on the rotation, not even a possible candidate for 6th man of the year.

    • InfiniteWisdom

its the irony between pic and name 🙂

    • David Kim

then 9th man of the year???? LOL

    • good to know that. thanks

    • Wayne Li

I am not surprised, JLin has been targeted by some teams or some players from time to time since Linsanity. First time was the Heat game during Linsanity.

But thinking positively, Mavs targeting JLin shows respect for JLin from coach Carlisle.

    • Michael

      = =. This is why I don’t have friends.

    • your son’s voltaire

right now, i think the best pnr big on the Hornets is Marvin Williams. needs to play with him more

    • InfiniteWisdom

the question is what happens if both are shooting well or shooting poorly. who will he choose? lin is the incumbent but will lamb’s new contract factor in? i surely hope not…

    • Brent Yen

Always more posts with a “bad” game…LOL

    • your son’s voltaire

looks like Clifford was trying to tell AL how he wanted the big guy to run back on transition defense. but AL might have taken it the wrong way because he was beasting on offense

    • Alain Gervais

There are many ways to express displeasure few to express pleasure

    • InfiniteWisdom

that was before lambsanity. i hope not, but dont be surprised if it happens. it has happened everywhere he’s been…

    • Hope

Disagree. I thought Linn played GOOD.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

The agent don’t make the final decision..Lin does…The agent can only present him with the option and give him advice.

Maybe the agent gave him bad advice…or maybe there weren’t many team out there offering Lin much money.

My early conclusion before this game, was that Lin will not play more than 25mpg on a nightly basis..

My reasoning is based on not enough minutes available because Kemba takes all the minutes at PG and Hairston/Lamb will take all the minutes at SG…So it doesn’t leave Lin with much minute to work with.

    • leeda harun

well it starts because lin didn’t shoot well and his minutes went down ..
      27 to 17..

    • JJ Hui

Wow! I always thought you are 20 yrs old and now i know you are at least 50, lol!

    • Alain Gervais

isn’t it crazy a few year a go we would argue for Lin to get starter minutes now all we ask for is 27 and cant get it

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Not in the long run. If Linsanity ever returned this site would crash the whole web 🙂

    • blubell

      Hence the “bad” 🙂

    • Hope

2 blowout in a row. Jlin’s team made that happen.

    • your son’s voltaire

he should just show that he was looking to make the pass but unable to do it. then dribble the other way. lol. i see a lot of players do that cus they don’t want to risk a TO

    • Alain Gervais

As soon as his minutes go back up ill be ecstatic

    • cdblue10

      🙁 A sad face for me….

    • kittyhead

After reading all the trolls’ mocking Lin’s handle,
I kinda of understand the situation didnt look good and
maybe that’s why he played only 17 mins…I dont understand why Harris wanted to do that…smh Sometimes I hope Lin could fight back hard…

    • new postgame thread is up
      http://www.jlinportal.com/g5-cha-dal-postgame-thread/

The Hornets won in a blow out 108-94 but there’s some controversy with Jlin fans on why he only played 17 min. He finished with 7p/2a/1r/2s/1b/4TO

Paul Villareal offered his observation that Devin Harris tried to rattle JLin a bit; that could’ve influenced less min.

      https://twitter.com/CNM_JLin_Vids/status/662497578597003264

It will be interesting to see how JLin’s role might change in closing games, especially when Jeremy Lamb is playing very well. It’s good to note that Al did not finish closing games before when Coach Clifford chose to use small lineup

On the bright side, if Lin doesn’t get to play many minutes as the 6th Man or a chance to be starter by end of season, he’ll most likely leave for another team next season. It will be the Hornets loss. It’s still a long season so let’s hope JLin will find his rhythm and contribute more soon

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I had made that exact point but someone kept telling me I was wrong….

I just can’t see how Jeremy gets consistent 25mpg…It’s impossible with Kemba/Hairston/Lamb…..Lin will get 25 if he’s having a hot night shooting…If not, he will play about 15-17minute, just like we saw tonight.

    • Hope

I will be panic when Linn is not being used in tie gAme

    • Alain Gervais

Lin is the engine if i was them id make sure he is happy

    • DaVinci633

At least he is in a better team with a better coach. If this next 2 years Lin is average. I think its over, he IS a bench player. Average to me is below 15/5. Linsanity was truly supernatural.

    • Alain Gervais

      agreed

    • sws94

Any replays of Harris mugging Lin. My feed was jumpy at the time and I didn’t see it clearly.

    • Lx

      79-3. Easy… EASY!!!

    • me too. I want to give the benefit of the doubt to Coach Clifford to figure things out how to keep JLin

    • Alain Gervais

I’m running out of those cards from the last few years

    • Wayne Li
