Game 5: Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Hawks

With Chicago Bulls playing the back-to-back game after playing the Charlotte Hornets yesterday, the Hawks can capitalize on their tired legs and seek their third win in what seems to be the easiest schedule in the NBA for the Hawks.

Will Jeremy Lin get more playing time than 9-10 minutes? It seems to depends whether he gets in a roll to score many points based on what Coach Lloyd Pierce said at the post-game interview that many players will get opportunities to play.

  1. Stay healthy and injury free, JLin. Good luck, tonight.

  2. Just like the Hornets season, JLin needs to be aggressive off the bench and make the first 1-2 shots in the first quarter in order to get more minutes.

Let’s hope his body gets stronger and he finds his shooting rhythm. Let’s go, JLin! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/540a0ee0990f02cbd5b2867c016a14d0c986e4407157b4dc309126dad253d511.jpg

  3. Go JLin! I know you can beat the odds! Do your best no matter what! We are here for you!

    /show?id=2309404299680036083124&fbclid=IwAR2vpuB6Kq-pl5wP8c16UVHnwmaAogZmOFs34IC_FjjvOnypKxx_QofqIK0

    「Don’t look him like that.」

「14歲?No way.」

    我們常常會講,do your best。

  51. Lin in

  52. call the fouls refs… jeeeeez

  53. wow lins speed looks good. he blew by him but didnt get the obvious foul

  54. There are incremental improvements. That’s what we want to see. But scoop shot isn’t working. He has to try a push shot or something else. He doesn’t want to jump and that makes sense.

  55. well he isnt putting enugh force on it. like i said he looks a bit awkward shooting. that will change with time

  56. hit these ft lin

  57. Yes. He’s doing fine.

  58. 2 FT

  59. good defense Lin

  60. Lin’s money shots 😁
Getting fouled and draining the freebies

  61. 1 FT

  62. Lin’s getting to the line. 75%. Lin getting more minutes and looking good on D.

  63. Wasn’t surprised Prince would take that shot.

  64. Yup. Forced it. Forces too many.

  65. Lin doing that thing he always does of playing well even if he isnt scoring

  66. One game at a time. Good defense. Good speed. 3 bonus rebound.

  69. bench unit out played the starters by alot

  70. Shots are not falling yet but Lin is slowly getting his rhythm out there.

FTs will help his shooting touch

  71. teammates are killing him…not passing him the ball. He’s also tentative not willing to shoot the ball.

  72. that is right. free throws. I have to thank that bull player for fouling him.

  73. He needs to be aggressive.

    Dedmon +23

Starters at -10 to -15 when not playing with bench

  102. Doc is the one that screwed up his shots

  103. Get the lead put the starters back in…quality coaching.

  104. they were jacking up too many 3s

  105. That really isn’t a big deal. A lot of good shooters can start 0 for 5 and then their shots start falling. What’s great is he has +10 or so with his unit where the “starters” are in the minus in +/-.

  106. Their coach said he wants them shooting 50 3s a game. That’s why they’re doing it.

  107. 30 of them from Trae

  115. Wasn’t that much easier than pounding the ball til it bleeds.

  116. beautiful

  117. great pass

  118. small ball, let’s push the pace

  119. trae was so thirsty to get the ball back from Lin

  120. 14 mins already.

  121. lol us lin fans have been so deprived of jeremy 14 min sounds like a lot

  122. Lin still playing

  123. Gotta give credit to Coach LP.

He put Lin back in to play with Trae with 32 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, knowing Lin not shooting well but helped to organize the offense. The Bulls have scored 7 points straight prior to it.

It paid off with Lin drive and pass to Prince for the easy dunk.

  124. How’s he doing??

  125. prince hogged the ball too long, got lucky there

  126. not making shots but playing well and getting minutes.

  127. a typo: 3rd quarter, not 2nd

  128. ha ha, maybe. The other 20 from Prince!

  129. plz dont get benched pzlzzz

  130. You’re right. So he has to shoot more. Hope some will fall.

  131. Lin’s in the corner too much. Needs to go near the guy handling the ball to get it back (hopefully).

  132. he has to spread the floor, the only problem he doesn’t get the pass

  133. Block.

  134. That’s why he has to get out of the corner. They don’t see him.

  135. two on one break and prince jacked up a 3

  136. I think that’s by design

  137. Lin out, no PG…

  138. Bembry-ball now.

  139. Sigh.

  140. not a good outing for Lin. sucks.

  141. That’s by set design. He is the corner guy. Play just won’t utilize him much.

  142. Too bad he’s not getting buckets but getting minutes.. He needs to make them count.

  143. no not even 1 attempt…night and day from 1st half, instead of play making, he dumped it off. why?

  144. that reverse lay up was an easy two

  145. Lin physically looks great. shots just not falling. it will come. he is a scorer. i do wish he drove more. this team is lacking that

  146. he looks slow to me

  147. At least he finished with a +9. Glad he played more but shooting terribly. Had some great looks. Simply needs to hit his open shots which he’s not doing at all so far.

  148. given a few games ago the intensity of the game was too much for Lin. this is a massive improvement. scoring will come. Lins driving though is still absent

  149. there’s no P & R with Lin at all

  150. he isnt calling for hit like in the preseason. maybe dont feel ready for that yet.

  151. Can’t watch the game. Does Lin seen done for tonight. LoL 😅. I was happy to see him play 15 minutes and have any stats! Does he seem happier?.

  152. incremental improvements but i doubt this pleases him

  153. Yeah, but I am pleased.

  154. me too

  155. on to the next game

  156. Today is a great chance for Lin, unfortunately, he didn’t grip.

  157. add me to the list.

  158. yeah I agree. his shots are not there. it’s ok. he tried

  159. dont be fooled by the score sheet. he played well. thats why he played more

  160. It’s not that he’s slow, he’s not Lin fast now. He seemed faster and looser this game, overall.

  161. Young is -21 and 5TOs. When Young has a bad game, Lin must show up to gain more PT.

  162. ???? Just lost his aggression. Puzzling.

  163. Me four

  164. i know…he had the opportunity

  165. That’s right.

  166. Me 5

  167. He was good on D but bad on O. Maybe will close the game if even made 1 shot.

  168. Credit to the coach for finally giving Lin enough minute to work with. Unfortunately, Lin didn’t grab this opportunity. Let’s hope he’ll get another 15-18 minutes next game.

  169. he looked like an nba player today.

  170. Shot’s didn’t fall, but the ball movement and shot selection was day and night when he was in. So…I am pleased.

  171. see what you did there.

  172. likely. the minutes are there for lin to get

  173. He made a positive impact.

  174. Lin getting garbage time. coming back in with Trae.

  175. Dedmon didn’t make the bank shot. Would have been an assist for Lin.

  176. That was pointless

  177. what a ridiculous statement that guy made. its like saying my friend dont walk the same since chopping off his leg. lol like no duh. coming back from injury buddy

  178. that was stupid

  179. what?

  180. putting Lin back in with 30 sec

  181. Lin and Trae

  182. Great Job Lin! Making a come back, slowly but surely! Hawks started playing like the early Nets, bombing from the 3.

  183. ohh i turned it off lol….one more game n injury. yyaaaayyyyy

  184. Yeah, totally

  185. Will there be a Trae-lin meme, because that is not where a team wants to be.

  186. he’s definitely not moving nowhere near the same as he used too. I just hope he can get back to his old agility and what we’re seeing now is not permanent.

  187. it’s all mental for Jeremy now.

  188. finished with the second best +/- on the team.

FG% and everything else will look horrible after tonight stats.

Lin shooting 20% for the field and 10% from 3point range.

  189. most of his points in the past were from inside the paint. Now he’s not attacking the rim that’s why low FGs

  190. i don’t get why the coach need to sub the players out with 30 secs left that was dumb

  191. he missed 2 lay up inside the paint, so that’s not it.

he simply not making his open shots.

  192. Small sampling. Will improve greatly with one 7-9 night and one or two good shooting games in a row.

  193. he lost that killer instinct…big difference coming back major injury.

  194. Disagree to some point. He’s coming back from an injury and that affects choices he makes for jumping into shots and situations.

  195. agreed. ignore stats for now. Getting 100 percent is the main goal

  196. maybe he needs another haircut

  197. come on

  198. Baby steps. Competitive spirit first and that’s what he showed tonight.

  199. its should be expected. if you get hurt, it will take time before you 100 percent trust your body

  200. Lin had positive linpact tonight. Great step forward. No injury. On to next game. Very happy with his game tonight. Shots will come, not worried one bit about that,.

  201. Didn’t watch but glad Lin’s minutes are slowly increasing, too bad his shots weren’t falling.

  202. same here 🙂

  203. He looked more engaged with teammates and seemed to be one of the only players helping out on defense. Of course that sometimes means he doesn’t close fast enough, but that kind of defensive timing and rhythm is always a work in progress. Aside from the shooting it was a good game for him. I think coach saw that and gave him more playing time.

  204. I hope one day we can all go watch a game together cheering for jeremy

  205. Drew in the defense, kicked out to teammates. All in the flow of the game. BEAUTIFUL ASSISTS!!!

Already adding to the donation totals!

  206. Dedmond has the highest ±rating for the team, next is Lin’s.

Lin is awarded 19 mins this game.

  207. Watching replay of game. Catching up via highlights too. Lin – 18 minutes – wow – 🙂 Too bad the Hawks lost.

So far, JLin is having a really solid game. Was a difference maker when he was in. Nice chemistry with Dedmon. Dedmon passed to Lin for the first missed 3, nice to see. Lin always seems to have easy chemistry with bigs, no matter who.

The Lin travel was bogus. They just played Durant’s full-court take to dunk during half time top 10 plays. How is that not a travel, smh.

Looks like his lift is still not quite there? How did that reverse layup not get in? That missed one-handed layup is usually easy, a step too slow? And he was fouled on the push-shot.

  208. Third quarter not good start. Hawks missed like – TEN 3’s in a row? EVERYBODY missed! Wilkins not happy. But they were OPEN 3’s, they’re supposed to shoot those, per Pierce!

Too bad, Lin’s was also wide open, maybe he had time for a dribble before shooting. Good news – Bembry passed to Lin for that one.

To be honest, even when Young is on the floor, whoever rebounds it takes it down court, they’re not passing to Young either. Huerter, Prince, seems to be the scheme….reminds me of the Nets, not good….

  209. Wooohoo! Loved that no-look pass to cutting Prince for the DUNK!

I know we’re not happy with not enough passing to Lin. But it seems like it’s getting better. Bembry may be getting better when in with Lin. At least, Bembry shared credit with Lin (and Huerter) at half-time interview.

    https://twitter.com/HawksOnFSSE/status/1056345072164233216

  210. Start of 4Q – Lin in with Dedmon, and some starters. Baze, Prince, Carter. Wilkins complaining. Don’t blame him. Lin passed ahead to Prince on fast break, 2 on 1, and Prince launched a three, and missed. Lin goes out. Looks like that’s his 18 minutes.

Tonight’s game, 7 lineups had POSITIVE +/-. TOP THREE line-ups ALL with LIN, Dedmon, Bembry. Lin and Dedmon also in another positive line-up. The difference makers tonight. Really too bad they lost to the Bulls playing on the road on second night of B2B.

    https://stats.nba.com/team/1610612737/lineups-traditional/?GameID=0021800076&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&GameCode=20181027%2FCHIATL&sort=PLUS_MINUS&dir=1

  211. Next game will be on the road against better team. 76ers, Lloyd Pierce’s old team.

LP’s postgame interview (only 4 mins). No questions or mentions about Lin, but gave credit to Second Unit for digging out of hole and boost to team. He didn’t hesitate to point out the problems with the turnovers from the 3 starters. Disagree with what he said about the 3’s though. The ones in the 3rd quarter were OPEN.

Listening to him, if we take Lin out of the picture. He seems to be decent coach, for a rookie. Let’s hope that, as long as Lin is on this team, Pierce, and the Hawks will treat Lin right. Let him rehab the right way, let him get his mojo back. TONIGHT WAS A GOOD START!

    https://twitter.com/HawksOnFSSE/status/1056372275753058304

  212. You’re right. They’re disorganized and like to run and gun while not looking to move the ball around. But Lin organized them some. So that’s progress.

  213. Reverse layup just didn’t fall. Lin was a half-step slow on the layup, didn’t get the ball up above the defender’s reach. Definitely didn’t walk, pivot foot stayed down.

  214. I’m in. Are you paying for the tickets? 🙂 just kidding….

  215. Very encouraged by this game. Hope it stays on the upward trend!

  216. i think lin’s defense is what’s going to give him minutes this season. he looked pretty sharp on defense tonight. yes the bulls are terrible, but even when we face good teams, if lin can defend, then LP wont pull him so quickly.

now that we have dedmon back, i feel a “bench force one” kinda forming…

  217. HaHa. GOOD ONE!

  218. Kinda. I liked Bembry’s play better tonight too.

  219. even though the 3’s were open, when nobody is hitting them, you have to adjust and get to the rim. everybody knows the infamous 27 straight 3’s missed by houston last playoffs. what did them in was not missing the 3’s per se, but not adjusting…

  220. That was a beautiful play. Vintage JLin!

  221. bembry in spurts is good, but i didn’t like him controlling the ball and directing traffic/calling plays tonight. it’s ugly and you can see his inexperience in the pg position. i rather him hustle and be a finisher, not a playmaker. too many TO’s and boneheaded passes to be a pg…

  222. Totally agree.

  223. That was not what I meant. Pierce was talking about the 3’s not the kinds of 3’s he wanted. Hard to think that wide open 3’s are not what you want.

But, of course, I agree. Everyone knows that. Dominique Wilkins was complaining about the same thing, shots not falling, should try going to the rim.

But, I was glad that LIN took the two 3’s. Less driving for him right now, less chance for injury.

Classic example. The 2 on 1 fast break where Prince threw up the 3, instead of passing ahead or driving to the hoop. Not good.

  224. From JLin’s Instagram. Good for JLin. Glad he also feels he had a good game tonight. As a Lin Fan, so great to see!

  225. Lin and Dedmon, AND Bembry were all in the TOP THREE PLUS line-ups together tonight. Hope they will get to play more together.

  226. Let’s do it. I will fly in.

  227. Any highlights, svp

  228. Jeremy’s spirits might have been lifted also because of the abundant unconditional love from his parents near him.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for the excellent WIFI connection on the cruise ship from this afternoon so that I can root for him and also get to read many excellent posts on this site.

    Go Jeremy!

  229. https://youtu.be/L1i_Wc3YCBQ

(LOL, Lin must be working on a Harden Step, and refs just haven’t caught on yet!)

    .

    https://twitter.com/trainimpossible/status/563763124839665664

  230. Indeed Lin has a good game. He was the general in the battle field.

  231. Coach must be reading this board!

  232. Only saw the highlights but Jlin on the floor seems to temper the frantic pace that TY sets. Two different PG styles leading their team. ATL needs to develop a set offense for the times when they can’t drive it up the floor. Something simple, like Jlin and Dedmon/Len/VC PnR with shooters on the perimeter. Don’t recall seeing TY do a PnR.

  233. Was so called “increased” minutes because of garbage time or did he get to play some with first unit?

  234. me-Lo’s probably taking heat for careless mistake at end of last game, so he has to pull the Lin card as a distraction.

(Jared Dudley also fell on his sword to distract fan base, too)

  235. My take; Lin was put in to stop Bulls’s momentum and re-organize the offense flow.

  236. If Young’s shots are not filling the basket, his team would be in big trouble with his defense.

  237. There’s something I haven’t seen anybody mentioning recently on this blog. JLin is not only recovering mentally and learning to trust his knee.

Remember how he talked about learning to use his body from the ground up? The stuff about his posture, his moving from the hips rather than his knees, and such? These were things that he said probably wouldn’t be visible to viewers and were supposed to be new ways of using his body that he was supposed to learn to do during his therapy. I imagine that JLin is also adjusting to this new way of moving. Getting used to that might also take some time.

  238. Do they make any play at all if Young does not shoot well. The opposition is the best test for Young. He can only make play if his shots beyond the arc find its target.

  239. Lin plays well even without sinking one basket other than FTs. Think of the damage that he could do to the other teams with his shots going in. Lloyd gave him the minutes and he got his teammates together in setting up plays.

Lin has to do well on his passing when his shots couldn’t find the target. That Lin has to be selfish is nonsense. Lin has to play his style of basketball; unselfish and aggressive.

  240. Absolutely. Not only does he have to learn how to move again, he’ll have to remind himself to protect his knee. He has to think about slowing down when he turns so not to put too much torque on his knee. But eventually all that would come together and he’ll be good again.

  241. Was busy and missed the game. But I believe 18 minutes is a very good start. While Lin is recovering, I would say 15 meaningful minutes is good enough for now. Go Lin!

  242. I can see a difference in the way Jlin moves, especially when he is just moving around the floor i.e. not driving to the basket or making a pivot: He runs a little more upright, keeping, I think, his body more above his hips as opposed to leaning forward and putting more pressure on his lower back and probably his knees. It is kind of like keeping proper posture when standing or walking. It seems to me, after trying it myself, that if you keep that one thought, keep posture more upright, then you can alleviate a lot of stress with each step when moving around. Driving to the basket though is different.

  243. I mentioned that in comments before the preseason started. So I expected Lin to struggle some. He struggled for about 2 months or more with his shot mechanics with the Hornets. So, yes, of course he’s going to struggle some retraining his whole body to play the game while learning a new system in Atlanta with new teammates. He’s doing pretty well considering.

  244. I think Steve Nash would have noticed this. Lloyd Pierce would have noticed this too. Lin has to reteach himself the type of basketball he used to play but with different parts of his body rather than going back with his knees in game time.

    Just you wait.

  245. jeremy should get a block

  246. Lin’s great pass to Prince was featured in the nba.com game video (at :42)

    Bulls vs Hawks: https://youtu.be/21jjQ4aHkxU

  247. Love this guy

  248. slowly LP is seeing how his starters can dig them in a hole (or he knew it already beforehand)?? Just like clifford, hope he doesn’t dismantle a group that works just to show that he is right in his selection of whom to start(anointed players)!!!

  249. he is happy because he has a co player of Lin caliber who is willing to make other player like him to shine!!!

  250. Seems like number of post will be inversely proportional to Lin’s playtime? lol

  251. 19 minutes according to ESPN; 2nd longest next to the preseason game against Miami.
    http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=401070757

  252. LOVE THAT PLAY – VINTAGE LIN! Must have re-watched it a dozen times already.

Guess what? It also made it as number 10 on NBA Top 10 Plays of the Night for October 27. Bembry’s block made it as number 9. Wow – TWO Hawks plays!

  253. AGREE! STAYING HEALTHY IS STILL NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

Lin’s 18 minutes vs Chicago was no worse than some of the minutes he got coming off the bench for the Hornets. And this was with a healthy Lin on a team that wanted to win. With Lin scoring and balling out for them. In a season where Lin played 78 injury free games. He had 8 games with less than 18 mins. And 22 games less than 23 mins.

Considering Lin is coming back from serious injury, on a team clearly focused on development. Think about it. For Lin to have gotten 18 mins vs Chicago, and closing out all four quarters. Definitely something to be grateful for. It really is a joy to see him back.

There may still be ups and downs, with good games and bad games, with more or less minutes. But, as long as it’s an upward trend, a very encouraging sign for Lin! (Not to say Lin should start playing major minutes until he’s ready.)

  254. Yes, technically it was 18:59. 🙂

  255. I don’t think the posts on here are excellent enough to distract from being on a cruise ship. Just kidding! 🙂

    HAVE A GREAT TIME!

  256. Hard to say. I think a lot depends on if they want to try to win while developing Young. Or if they don’t win enough, they will just give up and tank.

Lin and Dedmon played well together. But Dedmon was expected to be a starter. And with his big game vs the Bulls, LP may be putting him back in the starting line-up soon.

And when John Collins comes back, Carter will go back to the bench. Personally, I think Carter may be bad for Lin. He’s only shooting 39%, and I’m not sure about his defense. I’m hoping that Spellman will play consistently enough on defense, and to be a stretch 4.

Guess we will find out soon enough.

  257. IMO, being able to make 3’s have a big impact. They won the Mavs game because they were all making 3’s, which in turn opens the floor. Then couldn’t even hit open 3’s in the game vs Bulls, so the defense couldn’t be stretched out. The Bulls had 6 blocks on the Hawks.

  258. Yes. At least he has the ability to recognize and acknowledge it!

  259. The owner of the Atlanta, Tony Ressler, said he “didn’t know what I was doing” when he purchased the Hawks in 2015. His trust in Travis Schlenk in bringing a championship to Atlanta is simply a very bold move and is well rewarded this season.

This off-season only brought back 7 players from last season with Bazemore scored 32 points defeated Dallas, the team that Schlenk traded Doncic for Young with a first round pick. Young scored 35 points this season against Cleveland; this makes Schlenk look good in the trade. Collins, Prince, Bembry, Dedmon all have showed signs of a good season ahead. Tyler Dorsey could be a question mark. M Plumlee was acquired from trading away the dead weight of Dwight Howard. Essentially Schlenk has scored high in keeping these 7 players. Dedmon was brought in from the Spurs by Schlenk who offered more than twice that the Spurs paid for him. The acquisition of Demond has made Schlenk look good.

The rookies who come in this season are all playing as well or even better than rookies should. So Schlenk has made good choices in the draft in the eyes of the owner.

The other new acquistions beside Lin has almost all shown good promises for the team except Jaylen Adams on the two way contract. Dustin Hamilton who has been injured. Alex Poythress has played well before injury. Vince Carter at veteran’s minimum is a steal. Alex Len has done well and is starting for the Hawks. He is only paid $4.3M for 2 seasons.

The three-team trade sent Anthony, Justin Anderson and a 2022 lottery
protected first-round pick (via OKC) to the Hawks; Dennis Schroder and
Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot to the Thunder; and Mike Muscala to the 76ers didn’t make Schlenk look bad at all because Schroder was considered a problem for the team. Justin Anderson hasn’t played a game yet.

Jeremy Lin right now is the only player which hasn’t shown value that Schlenk has traded for; not yet.

My assertion is this: Jeremy Lin will be given every opportunity to justify his trade to make the GM look good. I strongly believe Lin’s situation is well thought of before Schlenk spent so much to acquire him. The information about Lin’s rehab and recovery has been studied thoroughly before spending $13M+ of the owner’s money. I’m positive that Lin is on his way to regain his old form or even better in the near future.

For the time being, who would have guessed this Atlanta team could have won two games before November? The game that it won against Dallas really helps Schlenk’s reputation as the GM who traded away Doncic for Young and a first rounder next season.

  260. Love the POSITIVE POST! Thanks for reminding people. One last rant from me about ESPN/Lowe.

I had hopes for Peachtree Hoops blog. Their articles tend not to be about gossip. More on reporting Hawks news and decent technical analyses. Posters there seemed to be open-minded and accepting of Lin. I liked that.

However, the tone of any fan sites and blogs are set and led by those at the top. One of the reasons why Jlinportal is so great, is because Psalm (and the Mods) set the positive tone.

Brad Rowland, one of the PTH main writers, also tweets as PTH twitter account. At the time of the Lin trade, was skeptical. But has been low-key about any criticisms of Lin.

Now that the Lowe-life article has come out, the “hate” has spread. (BTW, Lowe is an OPINION WRITER, NOT A JOURNALIST.) Nets Daily has re-posted the article and re-tweeted it multiple times. I WON’T click on anything related to Nets Daily. So, how do I know? Because I have been “following” Brad Rowland and PTH twitter. He chose to retweet what Nets Daily posted. And also retweeted the ESPN article. Not only that, Rowland decided to add Lin’s early stats, calling those numbers “ugly”.

This is how it works. Takes one Lowe life and it will set the tone. It gives false legitimacy to the negative views of Lin.

Taking advantage of, and abusing the power that these guys get from their platforms, to mock Lin, because they can. THIS IS ANOTHER FORM OF BULLYING.

Obviously, us Lin fans here find their opinions meaningless. But it continues to perpetuate all the cynical narratives about Lin, and undermine some of the team fans’ support for Lin. Because of the spread and reach of the article, the tone of some Twitter and PTH comments have already started turning against Lin.

During Saturday’s game, PTH had ONE tweet about Lin. “Gorgeous pass out of Horns by Dewayne Dedmon, but Lin blows the layup.” (Not Lin “missed”, but Lin “blows it”. Words matter!)

NO mention of the beautiful passes Lin made, not even the one to Prince for the dunk. Only 5 games in. But, if this starts to get worse, I will have to “unfollow” Rowland and PTH too. Absolutely terrible.

Am I being overly sensitive? You betcha! But, really, I am definitely moving on. It’s not the first time that Lin has been hated on. And it probably won’t be the last. As you suggested, we should just be vigilant about not giving those types of article any views or reads if we could help it.

  261. HaHa. Seriously though, guess tough to make time for a Saturday night game, not knowing how many minutes Lin gets…..

  262. All it takes is only 1 game to bring us, Lin fans, alive in high spirit. HaHaHa!

  263. Hawks locker-room. For brand new facilities, not very impressive. The Hornets had nice locker-rooms. (Or was it the Rockets?) Where they stream the stats across each player’s locker?

Note: Lin is NOT next to Young. Looks like Carter is doing more of the “mentoring”.

    https://twitter.com/ATLHawks/status/1055187673340674048

    https://twitter.com/KLChouinard/status/1055231945599258624

  264. It just doesn’t make sense for Lin to drive in with players ready to smash him. A pass to Prince streaking in from another direction has thrown the timing of all 5 bulls off watching.

  265. https://twitter.com/zitong_xtt7/status/1055623068805062657

(LOL, Lin is obviously trolling his own fan base!)

    🤣

  266. Haters will hate. Opinions are the price of fame. Tiger Woods has had Morey detractors than any golfers ever. If he sneezes, the press will spin it that he was rude or disturbing his opponents.

We keep hoping that Lin playing well will stop the haters. But they never do…tiger woods was the most dominant player ever for most of his career setting records no one can match and may never do again. All it did was make the haters worst. Lin being Asian is the target of hate like when we were kids. Hate is everywhere and there’s little we can do about it.

You are right about opinion columnists, they are cyber bullying and worst, they do it for their own profit and gain. This Zack Lowe is not alone, we’ve seen it at every stop in Lin’s career. They deliberately chase Lin because he’s their meal ticket for clicks. They are like leaches that can’t feed themselves and must attach themselves to someone else to survive. They are lowest forms of life.

Opinions is the ruins of our society. We are at the edge of the fall of an empire. A great book to illustrate this point is “Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle“. Opinions don’t have to hold truth and yet it gets past as fact and worst, it’s becomes news. Lin is only the tip of this deadly iceberg that’s bound for our titanic.

On a lighter note, watch “One Punch Man” (Japanese anime) and see how the media and public opinion can make or break a hero.

  267. Likely have the same effect on the length of your posts too, haha

  268. Good morning….Fortunately, the wifi connection is quite tolerable. I hope this evening would be good too so that I can watch Hawk’s game.

  269. I’ve followed the Raptors for a long time, since Vinsanity then Bosh and DeRozen. I’ve never liked the way the team’s GMs and coaches ran the teams. Vince Carter was too selfish when he was younger and he didn’t shared the ball or fame with Tracy Mcgrady and ruined what could’ve been a championship team. The worst part of the last instalment of Raptors was how Dwayne Casey built a star player mentality that built fake stats around DeRozen and Lowrey. One way another, he was responsible for making it worst for putting too much pressure on the already fragile mind of DeRozen.

Finally they’ve had enough and blew up the team and fire Casey and traded DeRozen for a clutch player that’s defensive stud. Kawhi Leonard is the one piece that has finally made the Raptors into a team with the defensive stopper and clutch performance that actually makes a team and not just a couple of stars. Btw, DeRozen will be great under a great coach in San Antonio, a coach that will help to take the pressures off his shoulders and spread it to the whole team.

I’ve always thought that kawhi is a lot like Lin. Their intelligence and defensive toughness as well clutch shooting made them winners. The difference of course is one gets good GM and coaching and media support while Lin gets the exact opposite. When we see Lin makes an impact on defence and bring the team back, no one seems to want to say anything. When Kawhi does it he’s a defensive allstar. This is the unfortunate reality of media bias against Lin.

  270. There was 4 seconds or so left when Lin made that pass. Most players would have taken a contested jumper or floater. Lin’s vision was execution was extraordinary in that play. And Prince did a good job of cutting.

  271. Although I agree that Lin may not be mentoring Trae that much, I don’t think the position of the lockers would much matter. But Lin may be mentoring Trae such in terms of what to look for in film sessions and various drills in practice. We wouldn’t see much of that. In-game, I’ve not heard of much communication between the two. It does seem talks to Carter a lot during games.

  272. This maybe why they are staggering the two more. When Lin comes in and turns team around, Trae will learn by osmosis and not by words…at least not from coach Lin and instead from tales and post game coaches. This may be planned the same way Lin was sent to Vancouver to keep him from influencing the young Nets. We will see soon enough. Lin will be a mentor that gets no credits….kinda like how Hawaii 5O had Asian stars that got no credits.
