G46 CHA @UTA Game Thread

JLin has hit his stride to orchestrate team-offense with 11 assists to help the Hornets get 3 winning streak but Kemba ISOs dominated the 4th quarter and OT at the expense of team-ball. It’s good that JLin can connect with a hot-shooting Troy Daniels for the winning 3pt shot in the 2nd OT

  • Will JLin be allowed to continue to orchestrate the offense so the Hornets can play a winning team-ball?
  • Will Kemba take over in the 4th quarter to play hero-ball?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that gets to be 100% healthy soon and will have a chance to be the playmaker to help the Hornets to win

    @parentofan8thgrader @psalm234

    Hi, everyone,

    1. I finally finished the list and videos of the Nonsense Fouls/Non-calls on Lin.
I put the list in the thread, Jeremy Lin NBA Missed Stats & Non-Calls.
    http://www.jlinportal.com/jere

Please take a look ! If you have found other fouls are not listed there or any suggestions, please let me know.

    2. I put the most blatant and brutal five flagrant/hard foul non-calls (The Brutal Five) in one video. They also have their individual video from various uploaders, so I created a Playlist for all the fouls on YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnteRc9IDNTcYfmawJSeGhh0_jBP-avsz

    Here is the Brutal FIve:

4/25/2014 Rockets Playoff G3 @ Trail Blazers: OT @4:02 – Lin got hammered in the head by Aldridge and fell down hard => Just a common foul, not even a Flagrant 1.

Based on NBA Video Rulebook, this should be at least a Flagrant foul Penalty 1 (Contact to the head & Contact to opponent’s face). http://videorulebook.nba.com/r

10/31/2014 vs Clippers: 4Q @4:06 – DeAndre Jordan hammered Lin with lots of body contact on the drive, Jordan should be fouled out (6th foul) => Non-call + DeAdre Jordan got a block!

12/28/2015 vs Lakers: 2Q @0:22 – Kobe Bryant smashed Lin in the face and the neck, Lin fell down => Not a flagrant foul, just a common foul. The refs didn’t even review that play.

1/9/2016 @ Clippers: 4Q @10:14 – Jeremy Lin got hit in the face (nose bleed) by Wesley Johnson and also got fouled by Jamal Crawford on the drive => Non-call at all.

1/23/2016 vs Knicks: 2Q @3:57 – Carmelo Anthony gave Lin an uppercut slap in the face. => Not a flagrant foul, just a common foul.

Parent of Lots of Kids, please write a letter about this! We’ll count on you to stop the brutal abuse on Lin by the NBA refs. Thank you!

Jeremy Lin, Kemba Walker Playing Well Affects Charlotte Hornets Differently

    http://sportige.com/charlotte-hornets-jeremy-lin-kemba-walker-steve-clifford-best-player-91437/

One tweet in a response to our post about the Charlotte Hornets beating the Sacramento Kings while praising Jeremy Lin and well, not so much Kemba Walker, mentioned that it’s not obligatory to give Lin the thumbs up while bashing Walker every time.

And it raised an interesting point. The two aren’t at odds with each other, so why constantly press the point of the differences between the two players and what they mean for the team? Wouldn’t it be simpler to simply write about Lin having a good day, and just mention Walker scored an x amount of points, dished out a y amount of assists and made 25% or 50% of whatever you choose of his field goal attempts?

It would be nicer, and I think I wrote to someone once that it’s better to write about positive things. It usually works better traffic-wise from my experience. To quote one of my favorite films (Inception), positive emotion trumps negative emotion every time. And while we’re not dealing here with multilayered dreams and reality is different from the movie business, I do think people prefer reading good stuff about their team/player, unless it’s a scandal-gossipy type subject, which works on our mind in a different way, catering to other personal needs.

But as a site that has been following Lin for quite some time and tries to be supportive of him while being subjective, it’s impossible to describe his performances and actually the Hornets’ as well without relating to obstacles in the way. No one is trying to make him fail on purpose (unlike his time with the Los Angeles Lakers and maybe under Kevin McHale too), but especially during this injury crisis, it’s sometimes baffling to see the Hornets do the things they tried to distance themselves from when they built this team during the offseason.

Maybe it’s Clifford panicking in certain situations and doing the easiest thing: Telling Walker to take the offense on his shoulders, which results in preposterous shooting numbers most of the time, although it can lead to him setting a new franchise record for points. Maybe it’s Walker himself letting some of the attention go to his head and deciding on his own to take over games with no one challenging him. Maybe it’s a order from higher up, and could have to do with marketing Walker as the star of the franchise or with Lin possibly being a one-year rental.

But the Hornets should be about making the playoffs and playing the best basketball possible to them, not anything else. And if that’s their goal, without trying to find hidden agendas and directives, playing Lin and using him while he’s on the floor, whether it’s with the first or second unit, is a must. Lin can’t be set aside to the corner as a decoy in order to watch Walker make or break a game on his own. A good Lin usually means the Hornets playing very well and often winning. Walker often operates in solitude, without it having an influence on the rest of the team or the game, especially with his defense being another weak point in his very narrow type of game.

There’s no fight for control of the team between Lin and Walker. I don’t know if they’re best buds or even close to that, but the Hornets do seem like a team with players that like playing with each other and chemistry isn’t the issue. But Walker represents an outdated way of playing and coaching in the league. Isolations while everyone watches the star go to work. I’m not saying Lin is the future because the NBA’s best are more than just one player and Lin isn’t some generational talent; he’s a very good player who does more than his numbers show and makes the team better, only to be marginalized at weird moments by his head coach, even when he’s the best the Hornets have.

  • orLinaryjoe

Fantastic! Glad someone took on this monster task. I reached out to the usual YTubers, with no luck. No video skills on my end.

  • ghost

Winning isn’t everything; it’s the only thing

You’ve probably heard that famous quote before. The NBA has a different motto: Winning isn’t everything; there are also shoe sales, other endorsements, manufacturing artificial superstars, politics, petty jealousies, race issues, All-Star selection, tanking for draft picks, etc. Winning can be fun too but it mustn’t get in the way of “the higher priorities.”

Case in point. The Hornets have started to play some team ball lately to get some wins. Are wins important because the Hornets have been sinking like lead to the bottom of the standings? Don’t be silly. Wins are necessary to help Kemba make the All-Star team. 50 point games in losing efforts will not cut it so let’s pass the ball to Lin a few times to get the win. Afterwards we can revert back to purely padding Kemba’s stats.

  • i love how the announcers seem to be in agreement, “Oh my gosh, he’s bleeding!” “looks like an uppercut!” “he slammed him!” “did he get hit in the face again?!”

but the refs don’t call it.

  • that’s a really good compilation of videos too.

  • orLinaryjoe

Nothing wrong. Must give your seat to seniors citizens, prego women, or young kids.

  • heart

Bravo! You did it! You have covered what I have been TRYING to keep track on and off. Please send the videos and list of miss calls to NBASTATS@NBA.com. Ask them for review and correct as necessary. Thank you so much for your hard work.

  • KHuang

    Disagree with the article.

It’s a lot simpler than the article states.

There IS a POWER STRUGGLE on the Hornets: Lin vs the “stars”.

Clifford is trying to protect Walker and Batum and MKG at all costs, even if it means losing games.

Clifford seeks to tone down Lin’s impact by making him be subservient to the stars. That is also intended to make the stars feel comfortable.

However, it’s having the opposite effect because Lin’s DOMINATING while the stars STRUGGLE. And the crazy thing is that Lin is completely willingly going along with Clifford’s plans!

Clifford is pissed that the caddy is outgolfing the golfer!

  • blubell
  • KHuang

When Kobe punched Samaki Walker on the Lakers team bus, Kobe’s bodyguard and the Lakers bullied Walker out of retaliating.

Had that been ME, I’d have literally punched out the bodyguard AND anybody the Lakers sent at me. Then I’d have gone after Kobe and mowed down anybody who stood in my way. I would not have cared if the Lakers terminated my contract – not that the Player’s Association would allow that to happen without a significant legal fight.

I’ve done this kind of thing in jobs and in classrooms. It WORKS – and I’ve never been ejected or even disciplined.

  • orLinaryjoe

I think that is partly true with politics. Cliffy juggling, but no intended hate.

  • CJSHYY

I hope they both play…. don’t want Lin to play over 40 min in this game.

  • lleepar

Someone correct me if my memory is faulty, but I seem to remember reading a piece early in the season about dysfunctional NBA front offices — and the Hornets was one of those listed. I really didn’t have a clue what that was all about until the recent puff-piece on Kemba where Kemba told the world that he was having frequent chats with the owner, and the owner was personally delivering his expections and instructions directly to an employee who is several rungs down the corporate ladder. I can imagine how that public revelation made the coach feel. But I don’t know what effect that relationship has on how free the coach feels about making decisions concerning the role of one of his subordinates — one who talks frequently with the top man.

  • KHuang

If Batum plays, it’ll be back to good ol’ 10 point deficits in the 1st quarter before Lin even checks into the game!

  • blubell
  • ghost

If you think this is an exaggeration, keep in mind that Harden signed a $200 million deal with Adidas. And LeBron signed a lifetime deal with Nike which “some estimates put at $500 million or more.” Nike earns $31 billion in annual sales. So is it surprising that Kemba is getting special treatment after joining the team owner’s brand of shoes?

  • JoeTeam

Jazz? Better not take OT, let’s see what the clear disregard for the coach’s play does to KW in the final 3 minutes. If he attempts to take over the game, maybe we can have BSc coach this team for the last 3 minutes. Somebody tweet that to CHA, pls, I am not a twitterverse person.

  • Pete Guelli’s and Clifford’s recognition on overall play and strong defense in the media will definitely helps to increase the market value for next off-season.

  • Marie Simon

Such a dedication to Jeremy! those blatant fouls has to go viral.

  • Acbc

The reason we trash Kemba is that he plays selfishly. Just like the last game when he froze Lin out to ISO the team into a possible loss only to be saved by the guy would have ended it in the first OT had Walker followed the set play given by the coach.

Lin on the other hand helped Walker get back into rhythm by giving him some easy shots which he made. That in q nut shell is the difference between Walker and Lin. We Lin fans love Lin for his generosity and team spirit, but when we see selfish play that puts the entire team into a losing streak like Walker did, it makes us doubly unhappy.

  • Acbc

Does it take a twit to Twitter? Lol

  • CJSHYY

Sure hope so. But since Hornets is not in NY or LA… so not really that many media report their news… maybe only to Hornets fans then….

  • KHuang

How is it that a NBA bench doesn’t have enough seats for its players?

  • blubell
  • Whitman Lam

I want to point out something: That foul vs. Knicks, WAS NOT even assessed to Carmelo Anthony, who punched Lin in the face AFTER Aaron Afflalo fouled Lin going to the hoop. It should have been a foul on Afflalo, a Flagrant 1 or 2 foul on Carmelo, and extra FT’s for Lin.

  • orLinaryjoe

“use each other to get easy shots” – Jeremy Lin in shootaround. That’s exactly what i saw when Lin plays PG on this team.

  • KHuang

If “winning was everything”, the Charlotte Hornets would be riding their starting point guard Jeremy Lin to a stellar Eastern Conference leading record while new center Roy Hibbert scored 20-10 as the 2nd incarnation of Patrick Ewing after being traded for Kemba Walker.

Just want to remind everyone that we have a “Jeremy Lin NBA Missed Stats & Non-Calls” thread that was created a while ago. Please check it out. @JAD2456:disqus has posted even more missed stats and non calls. Thank you for your contribution!
    http://www.jlinportal.com/jeremy-lin-nba-missed-stats/

  • JAD2456

Yes! I agreed. Even on the Johnson-slapped-Lin one, Crowford also fouled Lin before Johnson slapped Lin’s face. So there are really multiple fouls in one drive/play. However, the refs didn’t even review or call any of them. It’s like a common policy for the refs regarding to Lin, “No Review” on play at all. So there’ll be no calls, no fouls. So disgusting! In that video, I just pointed out the obvious hard/flagrant fouls, because they are too severe and the refs were too ignorant not to call them.

  • gasparthe2nd

I Thank you JAD2456 for these flagrant fouls not called. It’s enough to piss you off, but the remarkable Lin just gets up and keeps on playing. There is discrimination against J Lin and there’s no doubt about it; perhaps because the NBA powers-that-be believe that they can get away with it. We fans must make some kind of stink about it and these videos that you’ve posted are certainly a step in the right direction. May it disseminate.

The world keeps changing and yet, habitually, particular adverse interactions among people do not change soon enough.

Unbeilevable. Why would you even put Batum in the starting lineup after that much rest? He’s been out of the game for awhile. He needs to get back into the habit from the bench a few games then send him back to starting lineup when you think he’s ready.

I just hope this means no more Roberts at PG.

  • lleepar
  • yellowshadow

byron has marching orders to tank so they can sign simmons and at the same time give jeanie buss a valid reason to fire jim buss. all point guards who have played for byron hate him so this is not a surprise 🙂

  • sport

How hard is it to just start Lin as SG and move Batum back to SF?!

  • Warren

the coach apparently has a hard-on for Hairston lol

  • LinMad

maybe they don’t want Lin next season. I think they still have all their chips in Batum. It’s Hornets FO’s lost when Lin leaves. Fan base will drop. Team basketball will drop. It will be back to square one for them, the bobcat days.

  • Warren

but Kyrie and CP3 did pretty well under Scott. I think Russell just sucks. Plain and simple. And he is too confident for a rookie. Too cocky.

  • yellowshadow

i believe lin will leave the hornets eventually. there’s a reason why his contract is structured in such fashion that allows him to showcase his case and get to another team when the cap goes up. it sucks jlin has been a journey man, but i hope he finds a good spot wherever he goes

  • sport

Hairston is just another stand-in player to keep Lin from starting!

  • zxcvb

It’s all about sucking up to Batum. They want to show him he can co-exist with MKG (who will play SF).

Lin, meanwhile, is 100% leaving this summer. They like him, but wherever MDA is, that’s where Lin is going. Even if MDA doesn’t get a HC job, he’ll go some place w/o a clear starting PG (or at least one that isn’t a chucker!).

  • LinMad

ya I think FO knows it and Lin knows it. He’s a rental. They might be able to keep him if they offer him a good contract and starting position but there will be lots of other teams that will bid for him next off season and Hornets doesn’t look like they have room for Lin on the starting lineup when MKG comes back.

I just feel that they will be the bobcats again if Batum doesn’t resign. It’s better idea for them to please both players, not just Batum.

  • sport

If they were really sucking up to Batum they wouldn’t be allowing Kemba to chuck so many shots and handle the ball! They would let Batum be the main ball handler and the one to chuck shots! It’s obvious that Hornets care more and see Kemba as the leader more than Batum!

  • LinMad

problem is I don’t understand why they are trying to keep the attention away from Lin. It’s not like they can stop it. He’ll make top 10 ASG ballot every year from the bench. That’s how popular he is.

  • NONONO

I thought Lin would start today. LP should give me 95% refund if Lin is not starting.

  • yellowshadow

i dont remember cp3, but scott would throw kyrie under the bus all the time. jason kidd flat out despised scott when scott was his coach and kidd is the most cerebral point guard out of kyrie, cp3, and scott.

  • sport

Not about ASG but about the STATS and how he can’t outshine their designed star PG Kemba!

  • yellowshadow

hopefully batum does not play too much minutes since he’s coming off an injury ^^ idealistically i just wont hornets to win and jeremy being a big reason on why they won

  • zxcvb

Batum IS lead ballhandler when he and Kemba are both healthy.

  • sport

Not really, Kemba handles the ball and brings it up court way more often that’s why Batum suffered the one game he came back when Kemba was doing his iso plays.

  • LinMad

ya I think that’s one of the reasons why Cliff wants him there cause he can’t man up and tell Kemba himself to share the ball. Batum is more of PG than Kemba is. Kemba is an undersized SG. Cliff has the courage to yell at Lin really loud for a TO, but wont’ yell at his star players or players they want to invest in next season.

  • blubell
  • sport

I’m opposite if Lin doesn’t get his usage and touches then I’d rather Hornets lose for mistreating their best player on the team!

  • yellowshadow

i am looking forward to the second unit with troy daniels, lin, and handsborough 🙂 they should swap williams with kaminsky so the second unit has the best synergy in the entire nba.

  • zxcvb

Biggest news for Lin might be the new GM in Brooklyn. If it’s Bryan Colangelo, that bodes well for MDA as coach. If it’s someone else, that would put a damper on a reunion.

  • yellowshadow

daniels and jlin anchoring the second unit for the win!

  • NONONO

I think Lin said his ankle was hurting during last game. If that is the case, I hope he sit out tonight. I really do not like to watch a game which starters are busy building stats and left a big hole to let bench to fill it. It is like a tradition in this team until Lin starting and finish the games.

  • LinMad

ah i was hoping the two would play with Lin cause I believe if they are both on the floor together, they will both compete to prove who is better and then good results will come out from both of them and also Lin sharing the ball.

  • sport

Any team with MDA+Lin is an instant fix so long as they’re willing to build around Lin just like GSW built around Curry!

  • yellowshadow

dwight howard’s health is a liability. nets need to build around lopez as the center.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Same thought here:-)

  • gum

Do you think Adam Silver will hear about it? I really hope so.

  • Hope

The excuse for not start lin – he’s brought in as bench player. Unbelievable.

  • jolno

Batum can’t play SF because that spot is occupied by the team designated “star” in MKG. We all know Lin is a much better PG (and player) than Kemba but Lin will never threaten Kemba’s starting spot. Using the same logic, Lin is a better SG than Batum (heck he’s a better SF than MKG), but Lin still can’t start over any of them because Lin is not this team’s “star” player.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

If the vid is taking a viral, it will become a shame to NBA. Maybe then someone will bring this to Silver.

  • LinMad

u know Cliff hates it when the media points this out. How the bench plays better than the starters when Lin was running it. Cliff will defend the starters at all cost.

  • james brown

JLIN need to see clearly where he stand with the hornets team..the earliest the better for him to decide.

  • Hope

Forget Charlotte, Lin just needs to play his game. I’m lookin forward to this summer free agency.

  • LinMad

what? Cliff said Lin can’t start because he was brought in as a bench player?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hornets won’t be able to keep Batum unless they offer him a max contract that he couldn’t get it elsewhere.

  • Hope

    Yes, he (hater) said that.

  • james brown

sometimes, some player in the NBA make up some injury or nagging one just to express their sentiments and exasperation over their team and when traded they became so agile and healthy just like gasol from lakers to the bulls.

  • Hope

Only saw the yahoo headline. Didn’t read the article.

  • NONONO

We properly better off thinking about MDA and Lin reunion. Clifford praised Lin more than anyone else. It is all lies. MDA did not make Linsanity. He did not have any other choice, but starting Lin without any pregame practices.

  • jolno

My gut feeling is that Batum will leave regardless. He’s probably looking for a more multi-culture city like Toronto to play in rather than Charlotte. The salary cap is going up anyways so he’s going to get paid (probably getting a max) even by leaving Charlotte.

  • james brown

till its not been done, it still waiting for a make decision..as they say” its a’int over till the fat lady sings”!!!

  • Epie

Plus, Cliff just said “Yes, Lin can play big minutes” that’s all he said about Lin’s performance when he just praised Marvin as if he saved the team.

  • Hope

We all know Lin knows what the deal is.

  • John Focker

I’m still not certain it’a ALL lies. We did see Kemba breaks plays, meaning Cliff has little to no control over him. Either that or F/O has secret agenda…which I’m hoping is trading Kemba. 🙂

  • yellowshadow

jlin already knows. he’s known since he signed that hornet was a good spot to show his skill set and then jet off to another team when the cap goes up and he’s marketability goes up after taking a fall in lakers under terrible coach that is byron scott

Lin could start in most of teams. But it seems he needs more than some top stats and skills to be accepted.

  • sport

Because Hornets don’t see Lin as their star player! Even if he is the best player of this team! MJ is just another owner who doesn’t think highly of Lin!

  • Epie

With Lin’s help. Otherwise he wouldn’t have touched the ball at all.

  • Hope

    Lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This is an exciting match between Utah and Charlotte. Both teams are in the same situation; contending for a playoff berth but is still from the outside looking in.

  • LinMad

MW had a crazy night the last game and I don’t think it would have happened if Lin didn’t get the ball more than usual.

  • yellowshadow

perhaps, but howard has been having back issues since lakers days and he is currently not even top 5 center anymore. he will miss too many games like this season and last. howard also does not like pick and roll and only wants to post up. not conducive to jeremy’s strength.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He’s making those layups when Lin got the ball to him down low.

  • HaweSanity

and shooting 3’s at a great percentage

  • Epie

Well don’t know if you watched Cliff’s interview, he praised MW for the win.

  • james brown

i know that too and believe, but if you read my post…Its JLIN decision which at the moment WE don’t know yet because he’s not saying it aloud! TRUE?

  • Rick Johnson

Doc Rivers getting senile? Traded Josh Smith to the Rockets for nothing and now thinks no alcohol involved?

    ‏@kc1nyk

Report: #Clippers head coach and president Doc Rivers doesnt’ believe alcohol was a factor in the altercation.

    https://twitter.com/kc1nyk/status/692528223637364740

  • jolno

Well, in a sense, the pecking order is like this: Kemba MKG (home grown “star”) > Batum (traded for with assets) >>> Lin (journey man signed via free-agency). Thus, even though Batum is a better SF than MKG, he has to play SG instead. You can tell this by the contracts the Hornets have given out to Kemba and MKG.

  • LinMad

lol really? He didn’t see the connection of Lin and MW.

  • Epie

Nope like I said, he said “Lin can play big minutes” that’s it.

  • yellowshadow

that is not true, bro. batum will be getting max offers from multiple organization. he is for real.

  • NONONO

we just witnessed Hornets won 4/5 without 5 key players. I have bad feeling Hornets might lose some easy games like last trip to the west.

  • sport

He needs a coach who won’t get controlled by politics and willing to start him when he’s the best PG and player on the team!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

He can pass the ball to Lin cutting to the basket.

  • Epie

    Well.. go Hawes!

  • Hope

I should frame this convo. This is classic.

  • Hope

    Hawesanity for president.

  • LinMad

    The deficit already started

  • Martin Chong

Highest usage by standing at the corner waiting for ball that rarely pass to him? Sorry can’t say it ia fair.

  • Hope

    No surprise there.

  • LinMad

That was a bad turnover, Cliff should be furious at Kemba but nah

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Just like what we predicted: starters are digging a hole right now for Lin and Daniels to fill in.

  • golfhacker

I swear I get a virtual headache when I read his posts.

  • Alain Gervais

Cliff saying Lin cant start because he was brought in to be a bench player is a non answer. Very politician like. anyways Lin will be a free agent next year

  • Epie

So far Hawes is the best passer on the team

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Let’s see how deep the hole is dug before JLin checks in.

  • LinMad

Batum is slow to guard him

  • John Focker

Damage control…that no one’s buying. smh

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hairston the best shooter; LOL

  • kauaiblue

What kinf od nonsense is that?

  • MoominFloren

Urgh the suit in your profile pic…..Lin shouldn’t listen to his advice on hairstyle…..

  • NONONO

“Re: GT: Hornets @ Jazz, Wed. Jan 27 9:00 PM EST
    Post#14 » by fatlever » Today 12:41 pm

Last game Kemba has to make an impression before the coaches name the ASG reserves on Thursday. Lets just hope the coaches only looked at points and not FG% for our game vs Kings.” LOL

  • LinMad

Lin’s a bench player however we play him 30+ minutes

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Jazz is worse than I think. Their lead is still single digit.

  • Epie

    A comment @ ATH

“It’s sad our center is a better passer than our point guard”

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Rodney Hood is beating the Hornets 6:4; not to mention others.

  • Alain Gervais

idk i want to see exactly what he said. Hopefully the vid will be up later

  • HaweSanity

Hawes is a force to be reckoned with.

  • HaweSanity

    Feed the Beast!

  • Hope

    76ers leading pistols

  • LinMad

    pistons?

  • HaweSanity

Hornets have 4 pts in 6 minutes go figure

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Detroit trails from the 1Q

  • HaweSanity

This is a much slower paced game compared to last one

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Batum is very sluggish.

  • BobbyH

Both teams are so bad, O&D.

  • travis

Problem is he’s being used as a pg

  • LinMad

Nic panicked there. Lin would have held the ball longer and waited until someone was opened to pass it to. Actually Lin wouldn’t have lost his dribble so soon. Batum took 2 dribbles and stopped.

  • HaweSanity

    Game rust

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Batum finally is on the score board on FTs

  • travis

Batum is just not that good his stats as a starter for his career are as good or worse then lin as a bench player

  • HaweSanity

Clifford prefers these types of games

  • yellowshadow

hornets look TIRED. no one rotating/cutting, they just standing there.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Walker is taking over the offense right now because the rest sucks.

  • LinMad

Kemba ISO activated. Prepare for watchers.

  • HaweSanity

    Lin coming in pretty late.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Game tied.
Jazz is horrible and they just as bad.

  • LinMad

Jazz sucks too though. They haven’t made a basket in awhile.

  • HaweSanity

Such a low scoring game wow

  • HaweSanity

This game is so boring compared to last game

  • NONONO

i am well prepared and watching the Bachelor on demand.

  • Epie

Batum ISO is about to start as well 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Who is going to come in first from the bench?

  • HaweSanity

NONONO not the bachelor.. Really come on

  • yellowshadow

    kaminsky! lol.

  • DX

    Both team starters suck.

  • yellowshadow

    not when batum is playing

  • HaweSanity

I don’t see how Raul Neto is a started over Trey Burke.. He’s not better than him at anything

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The two energy guy comes in; Lin and Kaminsky but Hawes the assisting center stays.

  • LinMad

    ball moving better now

  • Alain Gervais

Watch Cliffs pre game chat.He said nothing about Lin . Idk where people heard him say that

  • Epie

LOL yeah Hawes with 2 asts

  • LinMad

    wow Hawes

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Here comes the Psycho T.

  • Epie

    Wrong

  • Alain Gervais

yea i won’t believe it till i see it.

  • HaweSanity

    Lin fade a way!

  • LinMad

    WHOA THAT SHOT 22222222222

  • LinMad

    no foul

  • Epie

    He should’ve dunked it

  • HaweSanity

I haven’t seen Lin dunk this year

  • yellowshadow

he needs a good running start to dunk in a game. he himself said he’s not proud of his vertical.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This naturally is a non exciting Q until Lin checks in.

  • LinMad

    nice hussle by Tyler

  • LinMad

Kemba lost his handle when Lin dished it out to him. Would have been an epic 3.

  • HaweSanity

Still no Troy Daniels? After he was the hero of last game? Lol

  • yellowshadow

it was a bit of a wild pass, lin should’ve taken it to draw the foul instead of dumping it

  • LinMad

politics. Only reason Troy was on fire was because Lin gave him the chance.

  • Alain Gervais

It wasn’t a great pass. kinda low

  • sws94

Bail out. Lin should have shot it.

  • LinMad

he won’t get a foul call. You know that. I know that.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Kemba is not 7 footer

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin had 3 guys on him

  • LinMad

Kemba had lots of time to shoot it. He lost his handle. In fact the ball even moved back alittle cause he lost it and he still almost managed to shoot it in time.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Walker is hot and he will always be the man.

  • NONONO

Every player had assists except two starting guards

  • HaweSanity

    JLin!!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    making layups

  • LinMad

    22222222

  • Alain Gervais

    It was mid range

  • LAJane

Nice way to start the quarter!

  • LinMad

    Daniels is in.

  • LinMad

u know Daniels likes to play with Lin.

  • grover chang

    Yes.

  • yellowshadow

batum does not have it today.

  • grover chang

    Rust.

  • LinMad

LOL it’s a circus but exciting

  • sws94

    Good hustle Lin.

  • grover chang

    Lin is deliberate chaos.

  • LinMad

that was a bad pass by Lin

  • yellowshadow

    terrible turnover lin, cmon man.

  • Alain Gervais

Datum is regressing a lot recently

  • HaweSanity

    Daniels playin shook tonight

  • yellowshadow

he’s been out of it for awhile, probably needs 3-4 games to come back but i also think he played above what he’s really capable of in his first 10 games with hornets

  • LinMad

he’s attacking the basket too much/trying to make plays. He should catch and shoot at 3 more.

  • Alain Gervais

    yea

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They aren’t gonna let him touch the ball.

  • LinMad

its kind of funny how many different lineups Lin has played on this team. It’s like he is the glue of the team.

  • HaweSanity

That’s why he’s been a benchwarmers his entire career

  • LinMad

Need to set him some plays.

  • yellowshadow

man, jazz has length and athleticism…

  • cdblue10

daniels is trying to do so much

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    A scoring drought!

  • LinMad

    What is going on?

  • yellowshadow

DANIELS! YOUR CAREER REVOLVES AROUND YOUR POTENTIAL AS 3 AND D PLAYER, NOT A SLASHER!!!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Timeout!

  • Epie

Batum slowing down both O and D, that’s what I see

  • cshot

get datum outta there lol. his passing and dribbling are 24 hour fitness level

  • Alain Gervais

Datum is also not adding nothing today

  • LinMad

Batum is getting yelled at for not moving. Just sit him for now. He’s not moving off the ball. Almost lost it again.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hornets is really short handed.

  • travis

Still no pnr for lin hansborough

  • NONONO

too many hands today than last game

  • LinMad

This unit looks stagnant besides Lin and Tyler.

  • cshot

let lin per cliff. that what you said you liked him for

  • cshot

    pnr*

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Give Lin something to work on. Daniels and Batum and the rest just don’t have it.

  • yellowshadow

jazz is packing the paint and have much more athleticism and length. will be hard to score in the interior.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Kaminsky is schooled.

  • cdblue10

    nice activity from tyler

  • NONONO

Did Lin have any good game playing with Batum?

  • yellowshadow

    good hustle handsborough

  • HaweSanity

    Lins forcin it

  • Alain Gervais

    datum came back too early

  • yellowshadow

sorry guys, but jlin doesnt have it tonight either…

  • LinMad

i’ll hold that until the end of game. He was trying to make something happen on a pretty terrible unit.

  • Alain Gervais

    too early

  • HaweSanity

Clifford’s not worried.. This team has fight and came back from much bigger deficits

  • travis

    Not credited with offensive rebound

  • LinMad

Kemba just got a bad TO too

  • yellowshadow

its not because jlin tho, the lineup is just outmatched mostly by position

  • BobbyH

    Lin plays SF?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    The lowest scoring first half.

  • HaweSanity

    Wow Hornets are struggling bad

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Daniels is finished.

  • LinMad

    This looks ….so bad

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Now is the strongest lineup for Hornets. Hope they pick up some points.

  • BobbyH

    The 2OT effect lingering …

  • Alain Gervais

you cant give hawes a closer shot then that

  • yellowshadow

id rather spencer shoot a 3 than get close to paint XD

  • Alain Gervais

    Hornets look tired

  • HaweSanity

    Utahs defense is on point

  • Kwok Wai Lai

What is the excuse for Batum? He hardly played.

  • HaweSanity

    Utah is winnin this game

  • travis

    Wow this is pretty crazy

  • yellowshadow

rusty. just needs to play through it.

  • LinMad

This is why you don’t let Kemba ISO last game. We shouldn’t have been to 2 OT to win that game. Now they all look tired.

  • cdblue10

This is what you get if you continue shuffling your players and not sticking to what is successful

  • travis

I think their out of rythym bc they’ve gotten used to lin running the show

  • james brown

then say hornets doesn’t have it tonite..until the last quarter?

  • sws94

    Jeremy Lin, moonball.

  • travis

I don’t think this is due to the 2ot game

  • Alain Gervais

that double overtime game seem to have drained us

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Any time you scored only 4 points for a Q, you’re in big trouble.

  • LinMad

    Nah Hawes improved more.

  • aras

    Hi bigbob 😀

  • cshot

are you constantly making new usernames kembasanity?

  • Alain Gervais

he has move space then last year. But again that was his “1st” assist. i will remind you. Thats the point guard

  • HaweSanity

True that he won’t change who he is tho

  • John Focker

Kemba is really good…at forcing unnecessary OTs.

BTW, where were you last two games when Kemba shot 12-50? Just wondering.

  • yellowshadow

    i know 😉

  • cdblue10

Kemba is very good in losing a lot of games just by himself and that’s a fact.

  • HaweSanity

    I was here

  • BobbyH

Just wait for 2 half that the man will take over, the iso man.

  • Epie

I’m pretty sure top 3 ISO player

  • aras

    hi bigbob ;D

  • CaliUSMC

Just making sure.. you were Kembasanity right?

  • yellowshadow

utah is contesting nearly every shot. give jazz their credit for their defense.

  • Epie

    Nice shot Kemba!

  • HaweSanity

    Nope

  • LinMad

Why don’t we shoot more 3s? It looks like their interior D is really good.

  • CaliUSMC

    Kkk

  • yellowshadow

wow every shot going in for jazz…

  • MoominFloren

    Top 1…….in coach & owner’s eyes

  • blubell

    he is

  • John Focker

Evolved from chucking into more chucking.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Good news is Gobert willpick up his 3rd foul.

  • LinMad

Kemba ball right now. Team ball later?

  • Alain Gervais

Lin getting to the rim just getting blocked.

  • BobbyH

    Troll alert !!!

  • cdblue10

    What else?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I assure you that the 3rd Q is going to be worse with Batum playing.

  • LinMad

I think sticking Batum back in the starting lineup kind of messed up everything too.

  • Alain Gervais

Batum came back too soon. Wasn’t moving well

  • sport

Average player who only chuck shots and isn’t an efficient shooter! On any other team Kemba would be backup PG only! But since it’s Hornets and MJ picked him he gets to start!

  • yellowshadow

yeah, they definitely rushed trying to get everything lined up for MKG’s return.

  • sport

Just want Lin to get 20 points and I’m happy, don’t care if this team loses.

  • NONONO

When Batum and Kemba handing the ball, Lin could have taken nap

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Man, this is awful with Hornets scoring 31 points for 2 Qtrs.

  • LinMad

Kemba will end up with 40 pts today on 30 shots. Rest of team will be ice cold.

  • Alain Gervais

I notice the teams energy as a whole was low. The double over time game definitely having a factor

  • sport

    Body language says it all!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Batum couldn’t even shoot. Kemba at least got some points on the board.

  • grover chang

How many times do I have to watch a box score that has kemba take the most shots. The most points. Everyone else is shooting horribly. I’ve seen this story too many times this season.

I know the end result of these numbers, it equals L.

  • LinMad

coach fault for allowing it to get to double OT

  • sport

That’s cause Batum is the only other designated star! If Lin was a designated star and starter, Kemba would be forced to pass to Lin. And really it’s up to Cliff to put Kemba in his place!

  • MoominFloren

Only 5 assists in the first half and Hawes is leading the team with 2 assists….

  • cdblue10

I think it’s more of the line up changes than anything else.

  • grover chang

Yes. I do blame him. He ain’t going to score 100. He is the pg. You win together or lose together. In a team sport you only lose if you go alone.

  • yellowshadow

i hope this game goes to over time since those are the games hornets win at 100% rate

  • travis

Fair to conclude : the more lin scores the more everyone else scores, the more Kemba scores less everyone else scores

  • LinMad

Coach should be setting up more plays for everyone else but Kemba. They need to get in the rhythm more. I think Troy should have shot more 3s but the plays they were running was not for that.

  • Epie

There’s only few games where everyone played well and win when Kemba played well. Less Kemba, more win.

  • HaweSanity

But they did play together and went down 18 because of it … Kemba was on the bench when Jazz went on that 18-0 run remember?

  • sws94

Kemba is the only player right now playing halfway decently. Lin isn’t doing great, Batum is a shell of himself, Daniels is awful, Marv isn’t doing much, Frank didn’t do much. Hopefully, some of the players will be better in the 2nd half.

  • grover chang

    Lol

  • John Focker

Kemba statpad sucking the life and mojo out of the offense, elite elite PG. Probably the only PG in the league good at making teammates worse.

  • yellowshadow

the way they’re playing even with kemba off the floor they are NOT gonna win at this rate

  • heart

KW: 18:05min, 1 Assist, 6/8 FGM-A, 13pts, 3TO. Tomorrow will be the day for coaches’ announcement for All-Star reserves selection. So Hornets FO/Cliff will let KW isos as much as he wants to get his stats in tonight’s game win or lose.

  • John Focker

Kemba being the bright spot usually at the expense and detriment of the entire team’s offensive flow.

  • CJSHYY

Lin’s ankle is not good & I think they should just let him rest not playing.

  • Epie

That’s what PGs do, make plays, get everyone involved. He’s doing the opposite. It’s not too bad today though.

  • golfhacker

True, if you can avg more points than shot attempts, that’s pretty good. 5/10 just on 2 pointers is 10 points at 50% FG%.

  • grover chang

Then lose together. The only player I’ve ever seen win the game on his own was Kobe. He scored 81 points. If walker scores 81 them I’ll shut up.

  • sws94

I wouldn’t say amazing but he was able to impose his will on the game more than any other Hornet. He does have 3 TOs that really illustrate he’s not much of a passer.

LIn is slightly out of sync. More hesitant tonight than the last game. Needs to just go for it.

  • yellowshadow

lin wasnt breaking down the defense either. too low energy from everyone and superior defense from jazz. everyone playing like they playing at ymca.

  • sws94

He’s moving OK. He’s sore but his movement isn’t as compromised as it has been earlier when he hurt it.

  • yellowshadow

lin has no lift, its impacting his shots

  • John Focker

Kemba played 18 of 24 minutes (75%), hole’s been dug, damage already done.

  • Alain Gervais

    yea saw no limp

  • kauaiblue

    hows he doing??

  • yellowshadow

kemba is doing great! he’s not gonna make asg for sure, there are too many better guards but he has improved quite a bit.

  • grover chang

Then change the momentum with a real pg that involves everyone. I.e. Lin. Even during linsanity the Knicks didn’t lead the whole game. They had to comeback. Changing momentum takes time. Watching walker shoot ask the shots isn’t going to win.

  • sws94

The one’s that he made he got closer and faded away. That’s what he needs to get back to. And try not to do too much in terms of getting into the paint.

  • aras

seriously where were the ankle comments against the kings and the knicks? he is moving fine he just had a 50 min game and is playing in Utah against the team Lin probably hates facing.

  • Epie

Thought we were talking about Kemba. Yes everyone’s sluggish, Kemba needs to distribute and make plays, which he’s incapable of. Our center has more ast than our PG. That’s not good.

  • John Focker

How about his asts and TOs? He’s a PG IIRC.

  • kauaiblue

Just started watching the hornets feed… they are talking as if walker was the best thing since sliced bread… i think i heard: “Where would hornets be without kemba walker” about 5 times in 5 minutes… talk about politics and yes men!

  • Tim Pham

lin is doing ok, just needs to find a way to get a good shot up over gobert, who’s a monster in the paint.

  • sws94

10 footers. The shots he hit were 10 footers. On the cuts, Lin just needed to use more touch around the rim and in one he didn’t get the ball cleanly.

  • yellowshadow

look at the 3s he took. lin usually stops taking shots when he feels like he doesnt have it and this game looks like one of those. he’s probably gonna take less than 10 shots this game.

  • HaweSanity

It’s either Kemba or IT2 that gets that last spot

  • MoominFloren

DeRozan , John Wall, Butler >>>>>>>> Kemba
I don’t know why the FO thinks Kemba has a chance to make it

  • sws94

    Yup.

  • Alain Gervais

The only shots that aren’t falling are his threes. . He is getting into the paint just need to find a good shot in there

  • grover chang

Kemba is shooting better. But end result is still a losing record in those kembaball games. One man shooting doesn’t work in the new NBA. Kemba mindset is out of date.

  • John Focker

Kemba’s doing great…for himself and himself only. Never mind that he’s the PG.

  • Alain Gervais

    could be

  • kauaiblue

    And their losing…

  • John Focker

Word I heard was that Kemba’s agent/agency used Al’s contract as leverage.

  • John Focker

Yeah, because Klay and Barnes are chopped liver. smh

  • heart

Yep. KW is their guy so they overlook his FGA. They don’t care how many shots he takes as long as he takes them to garner the most points on the team regardless to the detriment of team ball.

  • yellowshadow

thats because everyone on the team is sucking on both defense and offense. NO ONE cutting or rotating the floor. terrible.

  • sws94

We’ll see. If he plays like the first half, he’s tentative. If he’s told to be more aggressive, hopefully he plays better.

  • travis

How to beat hornets let Kemba take over

  • sport

Troll alert? Lin’s being iced out by Kemba and teammates which we’ve seen many times!

  • travis

    Wow Utah has no crowd

  • kauaiblue

    NBA has a terrible product…

  • Alain Gervais

    he will

  • grover chang

Face palm. How many times do trolls have to use the “scare” word or “passive” or “soft”. Only for Lin to destroy and dominate the next game. Lin is tough and not scared of the NBA. Do not confuse thinking for fear. Lin is always thinking how could WE win. Walker is simple. How only thinks his could I score.

  • LinMad

he already took 7 shots. That’s not playing scared.

  • Alain Gervais

    barely

  • kauaiblue

I have an honest question… are we rooting for hornets tonight even though jlin not being played correctly?

  • LinMad

    i think he’s Lin Win’s twin brother.

  • John Focker

Stephen Curry for Kemba and Hornets will still not make Finals. Point proven.

Basketball is a team sport, even MJ couldn’t make it singlehandedly.

  • LinMad

7 shots in first half. He’s shot more than most of the teammates.

  • sport

Not me! I only care about Lin getting his stats!

  • kauaiblue

From what weve seen this year, i wouldn’t blame the team… lol

  • kauaiblue

    Im torn!

  • kauaiblue

    ok, thanks!

  • grover chang

Well he better play better. He only has 13 points now. Has a long way to go for 52.

  • kauaiblue

Maybe the question is do we care?

  • John Focker

Thanks to the unnecessary 2OTs. Wonder who was the one breaking plays. Maybe we should ask Daniels, he seems to have backbone to talk.

  • kauaiblue

    It’s working!

  • CaliUSMC

The only people on this team that I root for is Lin, Marvin, Tyler, Troy, MJ, and Hugo.

  • LinMad

WOW BATUM WITH THE BOUNCE PASS THAT LOOKED LIKE CRAP

  • John Focker

Big deal, Corey Brewer scored 51 pts on Rox, didn’t see T-Wolves going to playoffs that year.

  • cdblue10

I want them to win but I still want to post my dissatisfactions

  • Epie

Lots and Lots of baiting going on here today. Just saying.

  • kauaiblue

    Thanks!

  • Alain Gervais

    utah is a long team

  • grover chang

How many games has walker shot more then 10 shots and hornets lost?

  • kauaiblue

Me too! I love Psycho T. Actually, I will follow him wherever he goes as well. I hope he gets an opportunity…

  • John Focker

Correction: “Kemba is the only player right now SCORING halfway decently”. His ast and TOs don’t look all that great.

  • sport

Hornets even struggle against the Jazz they are not playoff team.

  • james brown

    you said it..subtle baits!!!

  • adele

No doubt about it. Kemba Iso all the way!

  • sport

    Mods gotta get to work!

  • John Focker

I think Hornets are shopping really hard Walker for Hayward (+ packages). Trying really hard to showcase Kemba and MJ being in Utah was no coincidence.

  • John Focker

Yeah, he’s also on the Hornets’ fantasy team.

  • Alain Gervais

    utah needs a pg

  • HaweSanity

    Enter Lin the dragon

  • John Focker

    Mods playing bad D today…

  • travis

    Jeremy Lin?

  • CaliUSMC

    no thanks

  • kauaiblue

    yellowshadow is annoying me…

  • travis

This team so boring without lin running the show 🙁

  • sws94

A rim protector makes a big difference.

  • LinMad

its pretty basic, elementary without him.

  • Alain Gervais

They play too slow. Also have too much offensive players. idk how much shots Lin would get

  • TTNN

Utah without a PG having 12 assist now, Hornets have 6

  • kauaiblue

Agreed! I’ll watch when JLin comes in, but he just does the corner thing, I’m watching on demand TV…

  • grover chang

And the jazz will have it. Without the bench playing well the TEAM is losing. The starters need the bench. They are not good enough to even best the jazz without a $2 million dollar player bringing his game.

Too bad walker messed up and made all these overtime games so Lin is to tired to help tonight.

  • james brown

he’s saying things for the sake of saying..

  • sport

Ok I’ve seen enough turning off stream and will come back for highlights. Nothing’s going to change. Lin can’t play to his best without being a starting guard who’s handling the ball with high usage! Batum back and Lin’s iced out for entire game by Kemba again.

  • LinMad

our team has a hard time inbounding the ball.

  • travis

It’s like a high school team level of excitement

  • JoeTeam

just trying to keep off too much time sinks

  • rookie75094

    Here comes Jlin

  • LinMad

    Lin coming in

  • travis

Pj almost 10 more min then lin

  • kauaiblue

This is not my team… unless they play our boy right…

  • CaliUSMC

    Yeah I know. lol.

  • JoeTeam

just someone who wants the world to hear them. i like youz …

  • kauaiblue

Just give the zam ball to JLin… geesh!

  • Alain Gervais

Lin taking some of datum minutes. Thats why

  • LinMad

    burke just killed Kemba

  • NONONO

it is so depressed to watch this game

  • rookie75094

    Twice

  • LinMad

    JLin ISO please

  • travis

    Kemba sleeping

  • heart

Only if the rock is passed to him. He has not had any touches since he’s been in.

  • kauaiblue

No, he’s wide awake… that’s how he plays “defense.”

  • LinMad

I wonder sometimes how we’re even #9 on the EC.

  • NONONO

    Daniels, Daniels 曇花一現?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I’m simply surprised that Hornets didn’t lose by more,.

  • james brown

    yeah!

  • travis

    Bc Jeremy Lin

  • IsabeliJane*17

    JEREMY IS DOWN IN PAIN!!

  • Dorothy

    nooooooooooooo

  • CaliUSMC

    Lins out….

  • Epie

    OMG

  • rookie75094

    Darn!#!!!

  • LinMad

    Lin injured.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Note: Kaminsky got his minutes but he has done absolutely nothing.

  • Alain Gervais

    Another ankle roll jeez

  • CaliUSMC

    LETS GO JAZZ!!!!!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    The Lin-Kaminsky pairing isn’t working.

  • travis

    Looks really bad

  • kauaiblue

    Go Jazz!

  • rookie75094

That’s it…Jlin should sit out until after the Allstars game

  • cdblue10

    Turn off the game.Done!

  • Epie

    Nice Lamb, worried about Lin

  • IsabeliJane*17

Alright..better Lin sits this one out. Appreciate Lamb walking to the floor to see how Lin is.

  • BobbyH

Just rest until ASG, please. Lin. Think about long term.

  • what happened to lin?

  • sws94

Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Rest the ankle, Lin.

  • kauaiblue

JLin, why play injured for this team??

  • Epie

    Good night everyone..

  • LinMad

Give my boy Lin a max contract for giving it his all.

  • james brown

    timely rest!!!no need to prove…

  • Hope

    Hope he’s ok.

  • kauaiblue

    I’m done too…

  • kauaiblue

    I’m done… go jazz!

  • james brown

    goodnight to all..!!

  • golfhacker

Patrick Ewing looks away as Jeremy limps past him. Doesn’t pat him or anything.

  • CaliUSMC

    ME TOO GO jAZZ@!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IsabeliJane*17

He rolled his ankle. What are you blabbering about?

  • TTNN

wow, you just can’t wait to come out.

  • kauaiblue

    It was rose’s knees… not his ankles…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Pray that JLin doesn’t have a bad injury.

  • CaliUSMC

    lol

  • BobbyH

Hornets plays like a college team.

  • kauaiblue

ok, i officially despise ewing… his son was in Linsanity talking crep to JLin…

  • CaliUSMC

    lolx2

  • adele

Can’t watch Lin in pain. I turned off the tv when I saw him not getting up.

  • Epie

He should just sit until it heals completely.

  • james brown

but that is his bread and butter…you take away something good for him unless he has other options in his arsenal that he can use …

  • TTNN

he land on somebody’s foot, rolled ankle, might need some time off

  • IsabeliJane*17

The guy has an injury fyi. AN ANKE INJURY.

  • BobbyH

He is fine. Walked on his own. Just need to rest.

  • kauaiblue

No, they are not… you lose credibility when you say something like you just said!

  • BobbyH

My bad. I meant score wise.

  • CaliUSMC

Ewing always roots for Lin when he makes his shots though.

  • JoeTeam

    same right ankle or left?

  • kauaiblue

Really? ok, Im back to liking him… lol

  • adele

I hope so. He should not bail out iso Kemba. Not worth it.

  • kauaiblue

    What do you mean?

  • james brown

now that batum is back, cliff can finally rest JLIN on his injury!

  • TTNN

I seriously wish you got banned here on this board. This is really a bad time for you to troll. If you wish Lin’s career got shortened, you will not get your wish

  • IsabeliJane*17

From the look in his facial expression, IT’S MORE THAN CRAMPS.

  • MoominFloren

    Go Utah
Lin, please take rest for a week or two…..remember you are paid 2M only, let’s the 12M guy to do his job

  • Epie

    lol

  • heart

I was praying for him once I saw him didn’t get up. This is the first time I saw him in pain like that. God please heal him quickly…

  • TTNN

He is a troll. Just can’t wait

  • james brown

    LOL!!!!

  • Sophie Paris

That game was not worth it :@ I’d prefer Lin stays out and heal now.

  • kauaiblue

Right… he needs to just rest it…

  • orLinaryjoe

    Know what you mean.

  • travis

Now lin can hopefully get some rest while we get to see what the hornets without lin are really made of

  • BobbyH

    Hear, hear.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Why should Kemba still play?
Hornets is giving up right now.

  • CaliUSMC

    he wants his stats

  • JoeTeam

17 mins? not likely a cramp.

  • kauaiblue

Oh, right… i remember now… yeah, don’t know why mods keep him in, and i get warned for saying “kemba chucker?”

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Why isn’t Brian Roberts in?

  • aras

Did he roll the same ankle?

  • JoeTeam

Yep, take 2 weeks off. Let CHA go into 12th.

  • adele

He comes out when Lin is not doing well and injured. Wow! He is like putting salt in a wound. Adding insult to injury. I can’t even reply directly to his comment.

  • TTNN

    same right

  • grover chang

    Amen

  • BobbyH

    yep

  • TTNN

    yes

  • IsabeliJane*17

I’m more entertained with the showdown between the NBA team mascots vs the Jazz cheer dancers.

  • kauaiblue

I just want to know that hes ok…

  • JoeTeam

    Dancers!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Never seen JLin stayed down for so long. Pray that he won’t have a bad injury.

  • kauaiblue

    lol… that was impressive…

  • LinMad

    he’s fine.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes me too! Guess he will probably need to take a scan tomorrow to know the real damage of the injury.

  • IsabeliJane*17

    Rooting for the mascots.:)

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Lin will not return

  • TTNN

he has sprained right ankle and will not come back to the game.

  • Alain Gervais

    probably not

  • sws94

Sprained right ankle. Will not return.

  • CaliUSMC

The scan is going to show that Lin is made out of Adamantium.. he’s fine.

  • rookie75094

    Hornet announcers said sprained ankle

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Announced

  • Alain Gervais

    ohh dam. game loss.

  • sws94

    He’s in.

  • kauaiblue

Yes, it shows lack of credibility, research, etc. mods?

  • blubell
  • kauaiblue

    like a marine!

  • CaliUSMC

    😛

  • blubell
  • JoeTeam

what will we watch for 2 weeks? Barnes was out for almost a month.

  • adele

I’m so scared. Can’t believe nobody helped him get up.

  • IsabeliJane*17

First time I saw him in pain like that. Need to look deeper into that ankle.

  • Martin Chong

    apology accepted.

  • JoeTeam

    thx

  • heart

Both NB and KW only have 1 Assist each for 3 qtrs… NOT good.

  • TTNN

keep having fun on Lin’s injury.

  • kauaiblue

Thanks! that is a very common bball injury… However, he needs to watch it… Michael Cooper from my beloved showtime lakers sprained his ankle in 1988 and never was the same…

  • adele

Serves Kemba and Clifford right. They deserve this blow out loss. Lin can’t bail them out anymore.

  • IsabeliJane*17

If he’s out I might just rewatch some of my old Jeremy Lin clips

  • Epie

    He has no court vision.

  • BobbyH

Perdition for Hornets for the coming games till ASG: 1-6, win over Lakers.

  • kauaiblue

    On Demand TV rocks!

  • JoeTeam

might last 20 games, don’t be that long …

  • CaliUSMC

Is that supposed to be funny? Whats your problem mate?

  • Alain Gervais

Lets hope this injury don’t keep him out a long time.

  • LinMad

    how is this funny?

  • kauaiblue

    I like Psycho T though!

  • TTNN

So after portland game that Lin will for sure to miss, there are three days off, then whole bunch of home games so he could stay in CHA to recover before ASG.

  • Epie

    True

  • CaliUSMC

I never respond to you I dont know why I bothered. N/m

  • JoeTeam

you in on this game? Or do you win with Jazz?

  • heart

Please pray for Lin. Twice this season his ankle has been hurt by landing on someone foot.

  • Ben Johnson

Jlin, take off as much time as you need to get back to 100%…not 85%, not 95%, but 100%…if that means a month, do it!!!

  • stam

I’m so sad to hear that he sprained his ankle and is injured. Its probably due to a combination of overuse and not enough time to rehab the original injury. Couple that with hard fouls and he goes down. Just really sad sad sad.

  • heart

Me too. That was so heartbreaking. I was wondering when Cliff will call a time out. The 2 OT from last game and the hard practice that Cliff makes the team goes through… have caught up to him. He needs time to heal.

  • CJSHYY

Like I said he should not play today. Hope he’s OK. Don’t play if not fully recover.

  • LinMad

like i said before, he’s being crucified by this coach/team. He needs to rest.

  • sws94

Yes. Looked worse than last time as he still played after it. Lin limped badly off the court. It may take him out until ASB however, maybe that’s a blessing in disguise if we want to see a possible bright side. Bummer though.

  • Ben Johnson

Ankle injuries aren’t too big of concern nowadays with all the advanced treatment, look at Steph Curry, guy’s ankles were shot, but he’s better than ever…JLin just needs to rest it COMPLETELY this time

  • Whitman Lam

Yeah, Jeremy needs to think about his health and his future. His game depends on quick movement and jumping.

  • Rick Johnson

Was the right ankle the one he’s been having problems with?

  • Alain Gervais

im ok with a week . i honestly want to see how charlotte look without him. But no longer then that. Could take him out of rhythm and really out the teams game plan.

  • Dorothy

True Lin fans have Lin’s best interest in mind and want Lin fully recovered and no need to sacrifice his body for this team especially this is his contract year…

  • Whitman Lam

This is when you can clearly see who the fans are, and who are the trolls pretending to be fans.

  • Ben Johnson

ABSOLUTELY….rest for 10 games, come back, kick some butt and sign that new contract with Philly and MDA

  • Alain Gervais

10 games are you nuts. By the time he gets back the rest would be crazy. He would be out the teams game plan. Would have to remind a place

  • CaliUSMC

10games is fine. They are probably going to lose atleast 8 out of 10. They are going to want Lin back.

  • Whitman Lam

Exactly, he is not a robot programmed to do exactly what we want, he is a human being.

  • Dorothy

Ha, that will show us what Clifford truly thinks of Lin. Batum is not out the team game plan…

  • PPP

they should play Batum to shake off some rust for next game.

  • james brown

that too..sometime ago some even comment that he needs a professional to learn how to correctly absorbs the impact of a fall..wrong fall can ruin one lifetime dream!

  • Alain Gervais

Lets just wait for the report tomorrow

  • Ben Johnson

9 games Lin Win, with a 5-4 record and 18.4pts/game

  • MoominFloren

He’s a 1 year rental anyway. His minutes will be decreased once MKG & Lamb are back.
Full recovery is the most important thing

  • Dorothy

That was what you said earlier.
Who wrote “Please dont miss another game. Do it for the fans.”?

  • adele

We have tickets on Feb 21 against the Nets and we see to it that we’re seated behind the hornets bench. It doesn’t matter to me if Lin will not be able to play on that day. I just want him to heal fully his injury. Not worth on this team.

  • Acbc

You are being an azz. People are clearly upset and you are deliberately trolling them.

  • Dorothy

Yes, real Hornets fans would wanna watch him play as much as possible injured or not, but real Lin fans would want him rest as mush as possible until he is recovered.

  • blubell

tom, this will be your one and last warning.

  • heart

Hornets named NB as “player of the game”??? Justification: his 10 rebounds. NB 6pts 2/9, 29:52min, 2Ast, 2 TO. Is this a joke?

  • Dorothy

Yes, we Lin fan have Lin’s best interest in mind, we can sacrifice our enjoyment as long as it is good for Lin.

  • sws94

I know what you mean. I go both ways. It needs to heal and the ASB is coming up. But I don’t like seeing Lin a lot of games. However, health trumps everything else.

  • BobbyH

    Spurs destroyed Rockets. 130:99

  • adele

Yes. We have the best interest for him and we sincerely care about his well being. Not just as a basketball player.

  • stam

Thank you so much JAD2456 for putting together this list. This takes a lot of time, dedication, and hard work. I would like to offer a suggestion but not sure if it will help Lin’s case or not but to know the names of the refs in the game or who saw the play and include it as well as write to the NBA of unfair / biased / racist officiating, that may make them think twice to give Lin poor calls.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    for a few games.

  • Dorothy

    lol

  • adele

Of course I enjoy and like to watch him play but if he is in pain and hurting? Never mind. I’d rather watch Seinfeld.

  • TTNN

wow this game the whole team had 10 assist and 18 TOs. What?

  • sws94

Not much to say. Hoping Lin didn’t reinjure himself too bad and he needs the time it takes to properly heal. Game is not worth commenting on much and this overshadows it anyway.

  • aras

lin wont be out for long i think.

  • sws94

Just guessing or basing it on anything?

  • adele

They want Nick to sign up for next season with them.

  • Epie

Just had to select someone. Happens.

  • blubell

    Round up the usual suspects…

  • stam

For those who watched the game, did Jlins injury really affect the team or did everyone just shoot poorly?

  • Dorothy

    this

  • aras

I looked at the hive forum and they were saying lin might come back in but he shouldn’t because the game was crap. i think he will def be out a couple of games tho. but who knows maybe he’ll come back much sooner.

  • heart

Yep. Two touted core players->KW has 1 assist in 30:05min and NB 2 Assists in 29:52min.

  • BobbyH

That would be one way. But it is best to leave NBA to handle it in private, if they intend to handle it. They should know the culprits.

  • Singapore BB Fan

Sad to hear JLin out with an ankle injury.
Didn’t watch the game but from the boxscore it looks like the bench didn’t do very well.
Wish JLin a speedy recovery. Can’t wait to see him on court-side in suite.

  • sws94

hmmm. i know it was announced he had a sprained ankle and he wouldn’t be back. Not sure why they said that. He was down a long time and barely walked off on his own power, not putting much weight down on his ankle. No way he could of come back.

  • Dorothy

    everyone shoot and played poorly

  • Alain Gervais

Every one was tired. Being tired lead to injury

  • stam

    LOL!

  • sws94

Kemba shot well, but had a bunch of turnovers and did the usual Kemba stuff. No one else played well except for Brian Roberts who really kind of played in garbage time.

  • stam

You have a very funny and sarcastic sense of humor

  • stam

I’m pretty bad.. i don’t know who MJ or Hugo is….

  • aras

yeah know…we’ll see what happens. hoping for the best

  • stam

Hawes always passes the ball to Lin.

  • CaliUSMC

Michael Jordan.. Hugo the Hornets mascott. Lol.

  • PPP

Im planning to attend the game. Now wait to see what his status would be before buying a ticket. Don’t think they will be sold out anyway. eh?

  • TTNN
  • heart

Thanks for the pic. At least we see him walking. Thank God.

  • Acbc

I think that’s a good sign when he can actually put some weight on it. Fingers and toes crossed.

  • Linzen

Really hope he’ll get 100% healthy before playing.

    Speedy recovery Jeremy!

  • grover chang

LOL. You just exposed yourself as a fool on this forum. The mentality between kemba and Curry is night and day. You must just watch espn highlights.

I’m sorry this post is buried so deep in this thread no one else could see how little you know about basketball. Please read more about basketball.

  • blubell
  • JoeTeam

Give him a hug of us …

  • JoeTeam

make it 4 and it’s a deal. Just recover, good sir.

  • CJSHYY

I think he will not play at least until next week then….

  • kauaiblue

Why thanku, thank u very much (elvis voice)… lol

  • sws94

Select Roberts then. Nic wasn’t good. Can’t justify that selection.

  • pandaboy99

damn were gonna miss lin put a stomping on byron scotts face.. too bad

  • kauaiblue

Lin win… u can pull ur stunts at the other site bc its not moderated… here, u cant… just sayin…

  • John Focker

Lin should’ve rested after the Nuggets game, but was pushing himself because of Batum and Lamb “injuries”.

  • kauaiblue

    My weekend is free!

  • kauaiblue

I know… dont know why he does that…

  • CJSHYY

I think so that’s why I said he should not play today. smh!

  • John Focker

Gotta think positive: at least Kobe won’t be able to hit Jeremy in the face or step on his foot.

  • KHuang

It means that no bones were broken and that the ligaments are likely strained but not torn.

  • blubell
  • blubell
  • leeda harun

Please take care of yourself Lin. Rest well. Comeback when your ankle is fully healed.

  • leeda harun

    glad to hear that.

  • heart

What? That means Cliff really needs and wants him to come back soon. NB is back so Lin’s assignment is mostly D. That puts lots of strain on his knees and ankles. Twice hurt on the same ankle. Lin needs complete rest on that ankle and entire body from many flagrant hits recently. Lin, please Don’t come back any sooner until You are fully healed and have your full speed back.

  • CJSHYY

    Really hate it. smh!

  • CaliUSMC

    Tom is byebye? lol

  • JLin should definitely rest until his ankle is 100%; he has injured the same ankle 4-5 times which may be a chronic injury.
He has proven that he can lead his team to win as a starter and a playmaker.

Get well soon, JLin. Many of us will wish & pray for a quick recovery.
It will be interesting to see how Kemba and Batum will try to lead Hornets as playmakers.

  • JoeTeam

    Dang, so here’s my story.

I’m reading that Lin is coming in, so I open up my browser and my wife says … have some soup, you’ll love it. I get it. I’m loving it. And by the time I looked at my screen, Lin was injured. Waa …

I was so looking forward to a Lin comeback plus my soup on a cold day. Now what shall we talk about hmmm …

And oh yes, it was really not nice to read about 3 people trolling on top of that. Thanks Mods.

No Lin for me … just soup.

  • Barry Allen

    No soup for you!

  • Acbc

Soup n*** strikes again? …..no soup for you! Lol

  • JoeTeam

What shall we talk about for the next 2-3 weeks?

  • Acbc

Nothing? It was good enough for a hit tv show. Nothing is what we should talk about.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Mods are having enough of posters that not following the site rules. Everyone needs to behave no matter what. I have been given enough warning to all posters. So, if any posters don’t behave, I will either delete or ban the persons depending on severity of the offense.

  • Michael

    Great job Jads

  • spiderman

    Lol

  • LinJa

Left ankle sprain, before it was his right ankle I believe

  • Acbc

This isn’t even a team, just a bunch of players with the same jersey standing around watching the cornerstones score. Beyond sad.

  • Acbc

Lin is in good hands and the fact he’s walking is a good sign. Let’s hope he finally feels that he’s fulfilled his side of his contract to this “team”; and I use that term very loosely. Hornets is so obviously nothing more than a bunch of insignificant pieces to be used to their limits to support the 2 cornerstones. Let’s hope lin sits the next few games just long enough so that it times with the extra allstar game break. Maybe he’ll get a couple of weeks rest to fully recover. Maybe by then teams will be willing to make a trade for Lin’s services for the rest of the season. Let’s keep a positive frame of mind and trust in his guiding star.

  • Lefon Jang

I don’t know how Batum can be a max contract guy with that kind of stats. 6 pts 2 assists in 30 mins! C’mon now I can get 6 pts in 30 mins (maybe not). I don’t think anyone cares about the 10 rebounds. That’s not what the hornets need from him. Giving Lamp 7mil/year is a mistake too in my opinion. Lamp was bounced around by different teams and the hornets signed him up based on a few pre-season games. What a joke!

  • KL

Didn’t watch the game but sad to hear that Lin got injured. Based on the box score, Lin seemed to have struggled or was it poor rotation by Clifford? Did Batum’s return and the restoration of 2 cornerstones have messed things up again?

That’s ok. Just very hard to read all those negatives and/or bait/troll like posts for the past few days. I have given numbers of warning in last 2-3 threads but a few posters continued to do so. For the first time I banned a poster today. I also deleted a few comments. I normally didn’t like to make those decisions but ……

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes, Batum seemed very rusty. Everyone seemed like very sluggish as well including JLin — maybe the high altitude and/or played over 50 minutes last game. His ankle probably was still bothering him. Combined with Batum was back to the lineup and messed up everything. It was hard for everyone.

  • Maknusia

yeah I know…some of them are not trolls but knowing well the forum rules…yet they like to engage with trolls or post way too much negativity….meanwhile keeping track during game time is so difficult as well….

  • adele

Specially that Batum is back. The previous team chemistry is not there and he is not starting. But Lin has great work ethics. We need to respect his decisions.

  • your son’s voltaire

man, i just caught the replay and had to turn it off after witnessing Lin going down and gone to the locker room. i hope he rest that knee and come back the way Curry did.. a new and much improved player. the whole team struggled because there was no ball movement and lots of bad passes which was partly due to Jazz’s excellent D tonight. kemba was kemba, and batum was batum. Lin should be the 1st or 2nd option, not the 3rd or 4th option for the team to succeed. it was obvious tonight. after Lin went down, they were trailing around 13 points. after that it ballooned to around 30 points. he does everything for the team and is irreplaceable

  • KL

Man that sounds bad. But he has been playing on a bad ankle for weeks. Better to just stop now, rest and heal up completely.

  • KHuang

How gleefully BAD the Charlotte Hornets will look without him –

and whether the Hornets will even have the same roster by the time Lin returns.

  • KHuang

I estimate Lin’s true in-game worth to the Hornets to be about a 20 point differential when defense is factored in too.

So in my opinion, removing him basically makes the Hornets -20 every game.

    Actually, i dont.

Lamb is a great shooter even better than Kemba and more athletic too! But coach Cliff doesn’t like Lamb so he’s been getting the bench treatment with limited minutes before the injury. Not sure what will happen when he recovers but for sure Daniel will get alot of his minutes. It’s too bad cause Lamb is a team player and gets along with Lin. In the end it’s all politics because Kemba doesn’t like Lamb so he’s not going to start. The starters should really be Lin, Lamb, Batum, Kemba, and Hawes!

Now that ASG vote and stuff is over, would Walker goes back to playing team-ball?

I really doubt. This team has no offense plan other than Kemba-ISO or Nic-Top-Key catch and shoot. So predictable and easy to defend. Even if MKG comes back, their offense will not fare better. We shall see what this team made of without Lin for a few games.

They better not to lose to Lakers, a laughing stock already.

On a side note, can you believe 76ers is doing better than Lakers now? Great job, MDA. Now all you need is a decent PG. I feel like MDA is training the gang and get them ready, waiting for the general to join and sharp their teeth.

  • sws94

Maybe. There are just too many injuries here. Or maybe their rehab and treatments.

Ok something i thought about when it came to jeremys handles the kings game and jazz game is this one thing…for me when it comes to his handles it would be the confidence he has in himself when it comes to it. because i saw some things in that jazz game and kings game…The jazz game when he did that one man fast brake and went behind the back in full speed. thats a high class move and it shows that his handles have indeed become better. all it comes down to is Lin getting comfortable with himself on the court with the ball. and im not going to lie or sugercoat things but he has looked a lot better with the handles so far with the ball.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    #buffsincebirth… LOL

  • yellowshadow

thank goodness lin gets some rest. heal up and come back strong jlin!

  • sws94

Lin has excellent open space handles. That’s not the problem I think. I think it is when he is in more half-court settings and he hasn’t the space . Once he gets the speed up and has some space, there are few guys that can bother him. It’s the half-court, not open or full-court handles that he needs to work on. When Lin uses his speed he can break full court press by even guys like Bradley pretty easily.

  • sws94

OK, that makes more sense. The CBS site was wrong. MKG as questionable already. I think they are rushing him back.

  • Rick Johnson

Lin should rest and get healthy. Let the Hornets lose without him to realize how important he is. Let them lose with Batum and MKG back so they can’t use injuries as an excuse for losing anymore.

  • CJSHYY
  • aras

true but i see some improvement in the half court as well. he does not just run in to people and get charges, he is using is change of pace pretty well if you compare to the old days where it was all full speed

  • Rick Johnson

Rushed back into the starting lineup isn’t very wise. Should start him on the bench with minute restrictions the first few games to work him back in. That’s what GSW did with Barnes. Clifford doesn’t seem that wise though.

  • spiderman

The sooner the better (if healthy)

  • Rick Johnson

Foot on the line, long college 2’s. Does do the hop though as opposed to the 1-2 step.

  • John Focker

I thought that the timing of Batum’s return was funny, as I always believed that the toe sprain was more of an Asik Maneuver in protest of something. My guess was either on dissatisfaction with KembaISO, or a potential trade scenario.

Batum was not playing to the best of his abilities last night, surely some of it “may” be rust, but I don’t see his usual effort either. The way I interpret his reluctance: he’s unhappy with Hornets and unlikely to return next season, but he also does not want to get traded to the Jazz. Chances are he’s got a team in mind somewhere else.

OTOH, Kemba was still being showcased, but uncharacteristically was not allowed to statpad as usual in the 4th quarter. Kemba’s been out of control as his playbreaking getting out of hand was evident in the 2OT that was completely unnecessary.

I believe that Hornets (particularly Clif and Cho) are getting fed up with these two coddled yet ungrateful players. Changes are sure coming, and maybe sooner than later. In case no team gets duped into taking one or both of them, they may get the colder shoulder from the club, reversing their earlier coddled treatment. Especially the short-lease Batum, he may get the bench for pulling the Asik, or in the worse case scenario get some badmouthing to diminish his market value as part of the team’s retaliation.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Playing full court on speed consumes lots of energy. Lin to stay in the game longer and should find ways to save energy. So, Lin has to fall back on half court game just like the other PGs do.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

We understand and we support your decision.

  • KL

Interesting ideas… I would go more with showcasing Kemba for All Star game. After all, his chucking at the team’s expense won him the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. It shows how people easily ignore real contributions and focus on gawdy stats.

Your theory also makes sense. I definitely think something fishy is going on with Batum.

  • Thanks much! 😎

  • John Focker

One last hurrah at wowing EC coaches may certainly be a possibility, although there were very few (if any) exceptions of someone not in the top10 voting getting picked by the coaches. Kemba was not on the top10 list (and neither was Batum IIRC).

jlin himself admitted his handle needed work. before the hornets season started, he was working with the professor, an extremely well-known street baller. his handle is definitely not the best, but he has gotten better and will continue to get better as he hits his peak age.

  • leeda harun

Yes. I believed so. I blame it on the coaching staffs too.

  • yellowshadow

his shot looked awful in practice…

  • Rick Johnson

Should be able to tell by next game. Since All Star players have been decided will they still let Kemba go iso-hero ball and stat pad?

  • John Focker

Word. Lack of accountability always spoils the player. Hornets’ F/O responsible for letting Al’s agency leverage on Kemba’s contract is equally at fault.

  • leeda harun

For me personally, i dont think there will be any improvement yet.

  • yellowshadow

there’s been a rumor going around that batum is fancying toronto.

  • CJSHYY

    I know… I don’t know why rush back….?

  • yellowshadow

i cant stand IT. he said ASG is a joke because “people like jlin gets a lot of votes.” jlin happens to destroy IT every time they play.

  • Arsenium12 .

If anyone’s interested, here are the results for all 3 rounds of voting for the Eastern conference backcourt. Batum appeared in 10th place in the 1st round of voting but was replaced by Reggie Jackson, thereafter.

Jeremy pulled further ahead of Isaiah Thomas with each round of voting.
    __________

  • yellowshadow

IT said in interview that ASG voting doesnt bother him because “people like jlin gets a lot of vote.” what a douche! jlin breaks the celtics down every time he plays against them and he always makes IT look silly!

  • sws94

Yes. I think sometimes he reverts and runs into people, but he’s overall better. I noticed someone tried to get in front of him and he stepped to the side around them and continued to the hoop. I looked at some Iverson footage and what Iverson utilized, as well as Kemba I noticed, is the hesitation move. Lin actually needs to go slower than he does and use more hesitation moves rather than blow by moves where they tend to pack the plate or like in football, strip the ball from him. But Lin’s crossover/stepback looks as good as Iverson’s. Iverson was way more above the rim, the guy could jump high.

The professor carried a lot. I watched him on youtube. He is razzle-dazzle and hot dogging really but he has a good handle. But in the NBA, he would be called for carrying and palming.

  • heart

Can you explain what you meant on “Al’s agency leverage on Kemba’s contract”? I miss this…

  • james brown

we now see how coaches in the NBA sees JLIN? prefering IT over Jlin is a significance statement that right now nba coaches still see Jlin as nothing compare to those who they think are better..

JLIN mom said before ” that when Jlin is being put against a good player, they will say the that player will eat JLIN alive, but when things happened on the contrary, they just say and dismissed outright, that player is not really good and Jlin beating them means nothing”!!!

I think I saw somebody report that MKG will be back on Friday during Wed game, come from Jazz side reporter….

  • Solo

  • CJSHYY

I think they pick player’s stats + team’s ranking…. Unless Lin got into #1 or #2 in vote… w his low stats it’s hard to get into ASG. Just hope next year he can be like Lowery or IT, be the real PG in the team so he can get good stats.

  • leeda harun

Let wait for next year.Maybe nba going to change the rules..lol

  • Whitman Lam

IT is a STARTING point guard for a playoff team. Lin is a backup point guard for a team that will finish 9th at best. Even Kemba couldn’t chuck his way to be in the All Star Game, and he’s a starter who gets lots of minutes and the ball.

  • CJSHYY

I think Kemba & Hornets should learn their lesson by now.. if they let Lin played more role in PG then Hornets would be a playoff team. Today will be Kemba on the list not IT.

  • kauaiblue

Good! And dont come back until 100%

  • kauaiblue

    Agree. Agree. Agree.

  • Whitman Lam

Did you see how IT just shoved Lin to the floor and hit a 3 pointer without an offensive foul being called? That’s Superstar treatment right there.

  • CJSHYY

For #1 drafted player maybe… Wall’s stats is not better than Kemba & his team also bad….smh!

  • Whitman Lam

Not enough rebounding from the big men. EVERYBODY needs to scramble under the basket for a rebound after a missed shot.

  • leeda harun

Well..try again next year…play teamball..play for the team..not for personal gain

  • Whitman Lam

It looks like BS and Lakers Organization already gave up on their #1 Draft Pick, bust.

  • leeda harun

    Not superstar treatment..ref problem..bias

  • Whitman Lam

And a better coach, and a better, healthy team.

  • Whitman Lam

Look at how Rose was surging in votes, even when his game was getting worse and worse for the Bulls.

  • John Focker

Al and Kemba both under Jeffrey A. Schwartz, founder and president of Excel Sports Management. Word is Hornets wanted to keep Al long-term and Schwartz played that hand to get Kemba a fatter than should’ve-been contract.

Thanks. Do you think Hornets will resign Al w/ him being injured and all? I think Al wants to retire his career w/ Hornets.

  • John Focker

Al’s contract ends this season, and he becomes UFA. I doubt Hornets will sign a new contract with him because 1) age 31 with knee injury/recovery concern, and 2) team may be moving away from low post offense towards more GSW-style ball.

  • CJSHYY

They will need Russell to have good stats to trade him.

MKG seems very athletic near the rim. I think he could be a good partner with Lin for PNR, give and go, and alley-oops. He kind of reminds me of Landry. I am interested to see how Lin and MKG play when both healthy AND not Rusty. Also like Landry MKG seems comfortable sharing his christianity with Lin.

  • John Focker

Entirely possible as Lowry and DeRozan are capable guards, and Batum will be able to return to his natural position at SF.

  • sws94

I’m hoping that too and not that MKG takes Lin out of the closing lineup. He’ll be rusty though. He didn’t even really have a pre-season. He shouldn’t start. I don’t agree with Cliff to start him.

  • yellowshadow

aye, and batum’s french as well so it is to his liking.

  • John Focker

I think the topic has been brought up before, and someone mentioned that the percentage of French speakers in Toronto is not high at all. But in basketball terms it is more functional than the current state of the Hornets.

  • new POR game thread
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g47-cha-por-game-thread/

The Hornets were exhausted and lost the Utah game after the 2OT win against the Kings. And the worse situation was to have JLin reinjure his ankle and not return to the game. He was seen wearing an ankle boot but walking on his own after the game.

    1. How would the Hornets play with Kemba and Batum as the main playmakers? Would Kemba play reduced minutes after a failed bid to get him selected to the All-Star reserves by the coaches?

    2. Would the Hornets rely on the teamball philosophy to try to gain playoff spot now?

    3. Would they feature Batum heavily again as the playmaker in hopes to have him return to the Hornets again next season?

    4. At this point, the best situation for JLin would be to rest his injured ankle until he’s ready to shine in the 2nd half of the season to help the Hornets reach the playoff and increase his market value in hopes of multiple starting PG offers for next season.

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that he waits to be 100% healthy soon before to help the Hornets to win

  • K. P. Chan

All great questions, Psalm! I especially like observation # 4. That’s really of paramount importance, from both the standpoints of helping the team and protecting himself at the same time. We’ve seen guys rushing back (and that included Lin), to not so desirable results.

Re Kemba’s over-utilization: I don’t believe that was due to the motive of promoting Kemba as an AS. It’s been like that from the get-go. Cliff has this strange obsession with Kemba. Cliff is the only one who doesn’t seem to see that as much as Kemba sometimes helps to win some games, he just as easily can lose many games almost singed-handedly. Cliff will continue to overuse Kemba, whether or not he’s playing well. So that’s that.

With Batum also playing the point, Lin’s only way to get sustained minutes is to play SG. That’s not playing to Lin’s strength. But it’s OK for now, because Lin has been working hard at it and is doing well in that role. In fact, that has honed his skills and has made him more versatile. Anyway, he did play that position in college.

Also of great significance is that this season Lin’s defense is better than ever, not that he was ever weak in it. This has earned him respect on the team and from Cliff. These are all good signs. So I am somewhat sanguine about his role for now.

He just has to stay healthy, and to keep his head down and to grind it out. Better days are coming!
