G44 NYK @CHA Game Thread

In an amazing 19pt comeback, Kemba led the Hornets to beat the Magic with 40pts/9asts/7reb in a 120-116 OT Win

  • Kemba/Hawes/Roberts played so well to lead the comeback. Their teamball resulted in Hawes wide-open 3 to retake the lead 118-116 that Magic never recovered
  • JLin didn’t look like his aggressive self to finish with 7pts/4asts/1reb/3TOs in 30 min (2-6 FGM, 1-2 3FGM). He lacked the energy to jump high to fight for rebounds as he has done consistently in past games. Perhaps it was related to his bad ankle. Let’s hope he can bounce back against the Knicks tonight
  • Will the Hornets play inspired teamball after the amazing win ? It’s wonderful to see how all the teammates were fired up. JLin was so happy to congratulate Kemba, Hawes and Roberts even though he didn’t play a part in the comeback. That’s how a team-ball should be

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that gets to be 100% healthy soon and will have a chance to be the playmaker to help the Hornets to win

Guess JLin's stats in Game 44 vs NYK
  • Brent Yen

    1st Hairsanity!!

  • Linzen

CHA can climb to 9 if they win against NYN. Go Lin Go!

  • Spot

    3rd is the best!

  • Back to the throne! May JLin get a bounce-back game.

Did you watch the game? Something was wrong with JLin for sure. He didn’t even jump high to fight for rebounds.
I hope he’s more energized this game

  • Brent Yen

Only watched the HL. I think Lin is fine….

  • Spot

    Yeah, he is.

  • Let’s hope so.
May the 15+ppg pattern for a bounce-back game continue

  • Spot

Lin is not concerned about scoring points. He just wants to win.
That’s why he’s so similar to Tim Duncan.

Hopefully one day he and MDA will reunite again to prove how good he’s become since Knicks’ days

  • Brent Yen

Just watched HL of Manu Ginobili, you will realize there is a lot of ways to approach the game without athleticism. He or Nash are both slower than the injuried Lin. So..Lin will be fine…he just needs to figure those out

  • If you haven’t read Woj’s article on LBJ power play oust David Blatt, you should read it

I guess LBJ didn’t want to be coached any more in Miami under Pat Riley’s authority and wants to control everything in Cleveland. The article timing is great since it counters the narrative being spread out there bad-mouthing David Blatt.

psalm, some of us feel Lin Win is a troll. If you don’t have time to go back and read what he wrote last night and this morning, it is fine, but please keep an eye on his postings from now on. Hope if he ever shows his true color again, he will be banned. Thanks.

  • gum

Is today’s game against NYN scheduled? I wonder how they could make it to Charlotte in

    this blizzard snowing weather!

  • tom

    yep delta came through

  • ok, thanks.

I was traveling yesterday. I will review back the postings when I have some time later.
It was not easy to watch Lin can’t play like himself. He might not play 100% but true Lin fans would still wish him well & bounce back

  • Dorothy

hmmmm NBA is even worse, uglier, dirtier than I had thought…

  • Promo Sports World

should have happened in the offseason … All the signs were there Blatt was not in a position to succeed

    Bullseye was there

All on lebron now, but the Roster is flawed….should’ve kept Wiggins

  • CaliUSMC

    I agree 100%

  • Lefon Jang

Having played with an ankle injury for so many games may have finally caught up with him. But if Roberts and Daniel didn’t have such a great run I’m sure Lin would’ve been back in to close out. Haven’t we seen Lin with ok game for three quarters but then came up big in the fourth. He’s Mr. Fourth Quarter!

  • sws94

Magic Johnson and other great players have had coaches fired. As superstars go, I like LeBron. He’s not perfect but he’s one of the best ever. Top 5. Blatt’s not even close to one of the best coaches now. Superstar players getting coaches fired has gone on for decades, nothing new.

  • Dorothy

No, it does not take a superstar player to get coach fired. Just look at how Clifford has to appease Kemba, I would say a franchise player can get coach fired. that is why I will not watch NBA once Lin is done with it.

  • rookie75094

Let’s go Jlin. …spank the new York knitnats.

  • LAJane

It’s hard to really accept the bare realities, isn’t it? Wherever there is really BIG money and big fame you will always find the greediest operators. I don’t like cynicism so I don’t EXPECT the worst, but at some point you have to acknowledge what actually is. Sigh. Can you imagine how strong-minded Lin is that he manages to maintain a good heart while swimming in such toxic waters!

  • gum

Thanks, Tom…..Incredible how Delta made it! Go Jeremy Lin!

  • Good point. JLin has proven he’ll give his best in the 4th quarter over and over again, bad ankle or not.

This is actually good to see Kemba, Roberts and Hawes play teamball since it will take a team effort to win. It cannot be just JLin playing teamball

    Let’s hope it continue

  • Dorothy

Yes, I thought about Lin immediately while reading that article and my heart ached for him.

  • gum

The Knicks had no travel issues last night. They landed in Charlotte a little after 2 AM so Knicks-Hornets will be played as scheduled.

  • kauaiblue

NBA sux. I’m done once jeremy retires. Im semi done now!

  • CaliUSMC

    Kyrie-Wiggins-Lebron.. would have been scary.

  • sws94

Dorothy, didn’t say it did. I said superstar players have been getting coaches fired for decades. It’s nothing new. And LeBron is beyond a superstar player, he’s a basketball legend. One of the best ever.

  • sws94

There wasn’t much snow on the ground at 2 AM. It was heavy around 8 AM, much later.

  • CaliUSMC

Well that post got deleted quick lol

  • end_IS_near

Dont even try to flag my comment. He is nothing more than a bench player. I know it a hard pill to swallow for you Chinese.

  • Alain Gervais

whether you say Lin is a bench player or not it doesn’t effect the truth. If he is just a bench player it will play out. You going to his fans to say it is weird. Why do you feel its needed to say this. The truth will play out regardless. Honestly something is mentally wrong with you

  • sws94

He made an idiotic racial statement later. Ban fools like that.

  • CaliUSMC

    BYE BYE

  • end_IS_near

Linsanity was 5 years ago. Get over it

  • Alain Gervais

your comment had nothing to do with what i said

  • end_IS_near

I think it something wrong with ya’ll. Can’t accept that he is a bench player.

  • Alain Gervais

lol you seem to be projecting a lot

  • end_IS_near

Before you say I’m racist. I’m Filipino.

  • Alain Gervais

theres a such thing as self racism

  • end_IS_near

I love being Filipino. Just because I think Lin is a bench player meaning I have self racism?

  • Dorothy

I see, so a Clarkson fan? Then please go to JClarkson.com LOL

  • Brent Yen

    end_IS_ending

  • Dorothy

Understood. LBJ maybe a bball God or legend in a lot of NBA fans’ mind, but for me who started watching NBA because of Lin it does not mean a thing to me which translates to I will not spend a penny on LBJ related things if money is what NBA is all about 🙂

  • Lin Win

Hope Lin can bounce back after yesterday’s game. Even though we are short handed we are against the Knicks. We can’t expect Kemba to put up another 40point game back to back. Really hope Lin makes NYK GMs regret trading him away!

  • Briiick

The new names who ONLY show up when Lin’s stats don’t get filled are most likely trolls.

  • Dorothy

Very true, and some trolls are still here but camouflaged, but I believe eventually they will reveal their true color. They usually also get too excited when Lin had a bad game.

  • Brent Yen

We have armor piercing rounds here…..(sorry to those anti-gun posters, just an analogy.)

  • CaliUSMC

    Yeah.. .well Lin sucks.

  • Brent Yen

    boooooooooooo

  • CaliUSMC

Is it just me or does it take a real long time for the poll vote to go through?

We can expect walker to score 40 bc he is a ballhog.

  • kauaiblue

    Dam right.

  • Uh-Oh

“Really hope Lin makes NYK GMs regret trading him away!”

This line makes me want to roll my eyes so hard to the point of being blind.
It’s not the second year he’s been trading away from NYK. He got nothing to prove to the Knicks gm anymore since he already proved with many great games during linsanity, also put up some great games against Knicks as rocket. You are his fan, you should already know well about this. Aren’t you?

  • Uh-Oh

    Brent on duty! Great!

  • tom

    I want a 50 game from Lin

  • Linzen

  • kauaiblue

Hes a troll… very curious why he spends so much time here and the other site…

  • DX
  • JoeTeam

there are web studies done on troll drivers, and it’s not a pretty read so check it out and you will understand.

  • JoeTeam

Brent, could you have a convo in the mods section on now to handle troll behavior in game? It’s like you paid for seats with your buddies, and every play, someone is standing up in front of you can you miss the layup or alley oop. The off-game convos are generally immune to massive trolls because people here have become a tight community, but the in-game thing … no matter what you do, ignore or refute, it’s just a guy standing in front of you and ruining the joy (and recovering from cringeworthy moments to keep an understanding of what is really going on in the court, that this community does develop very accurately together.).

  • JoeTeam

take heart psalm, Lin played ok for what he was given … I take the view of what happens to Lin as much as what he does, because I’ve been on many teams over the years where I am not given the role or ball. You can only do so much, and sometimes you are really bad because something happened to really p^^^s someone off and live games just devolve from there. So, people look for simple reasons, and really it’s not anything simple on a team that has a leader who ISOs so much, values his own performance against team mates and wins, and a coach that looks to be unable to establish his own role.

The shining example of that was when Cliff said he was going to put Lin back in, which is the norm for Lin to establish himself strongly when KW is out, but KW waived him off and the the comeback was on. Think UCONN or the triple double in 29 mins. KW’s selfish ball in his demand to play over Lin, and no matter what one says about the win, it was no win but a pyrrhic victory. I mean, Magic and Jazz … good for Kemba. How’s that working out for you all?

  • David Kim

In reference to Smith, Nerlens Noel told CBS Philadelphia last season: “He’s the first true point guard I’ve ever played with,” which was also widely seen as a shot at recently traded sophomore Michael Carter-Williams

Lin will play better if he is allowed to play like Ish Smith…

  • Lin Win

    Funny coming from a troll.

  • JoeTeam

then will we go to soccer and rugby, or is that corrupted to lol? Hong Kong 7s.

  • TTNN

looks to me both Batum and Lamb will take longer time to come back.

  • JoeTeam

Lin IS fine! The shifts he played they were being outplayed as a team, and he got nixed in the 4th by KW asking coach to stay in. That’s sports, and JLin got erased form his normal intense time where he has a mindset … ok, I’ll get everyone going and I’ll take over when we are about to lose, if they let me. That shift was absent, so it looks worse than it was. To me it was a normal Lin outing on a night when CHA gets roundly outplayed.

  • There seems to be a confusion or lack of understanding of the reasons why some posts are deleted or users are banned.

Keep in mind that the #1 rule of the site is “Be Polite & Respectful”
While some Lin fans may believe he’s only a bench player, you need to observe the site rules.

Any posts to disparage others, incite racism, instigate fights will be deleted and users will be banned without any warning.

Thank you for all the mods for doing the hard work. Let’s hope JLin will have a great bounce-back game!
    Let’s go JLin!

  • LinMad

I predict Lin will tear it up today. I got $15,000 on Hornets. I’m bringing home $60,000 today.

  • TTNN

This guy will say some extreme words and then go to Hornets sites and say “oh, see what crazy Lin fans say” and link to this site.

Seen that a lot, that’s why this guy is not consistent, he will behave like even minded someday, but will say some really strange things some other day.

Simply can not take what he said seriously, you don’t know what kind of agenda he is running, and that might not even trying to set up things on this site……

  • I support this message.

  • LinMad

i think some users need to be banned sooner. The ones who are obviously not Lin fans.

  • Spot

How long should we tolerate this false Lin fan?

    Anyway:

Lin talks about inconsistency cause he never had the chance to adapt in a role. They packed him thru USA year after year.

Again. If given the opportunity, Jeremy can score more than Kemba. Higher PPS. Kemba actually is ruining this team.

After that trade Knicks went from title contender to one of the worse team in the league. That GM is no longer in charge and so the coach. It’s just Melo and Dolan. No one else. And Jeremy already proved them wrong game after game.

So, my question is: what do you want from us? Go away and never come back.

  • Spot

YOU are a troll. And you’re not even a good one. Bye.

  • JoeTeam
  • JoeTeam

I will cheer of you and Mr. Lin, but you first because it’s always good to see a person win in life, over a gambling institution of course because they stack up the wins against us.

  • Rick Johnson

    Wow that was quick.

  • kauaiblue

    I see… thanks joe!

  • JoeTeam

    Wow, go Good guyS Win!

“As the games wore on, opposing players on the floor weren’t only watching James constantly wave off plays from the coach – but role players feeling emboldened to disregard the head coach’s instructions, too.

James had the Cavaliers existing in open rebellion for more than a season now, with no Pat Riley in the organizational shadows to scare everyone into compliance.”

  • Oh my, careful not to raise the stakes too high, man

Steady plodding is the way ?

    I am present aswell..hehe

Lin is going to have a great game! He had a good game yesterday. A couple times over-helped, too deep in the paint allowing 3 pointers. Also, he is susceptible to the reach around. Whether shorter arms or not keeping his dribble in front of him.
Otherwise, not much usage yesterday and even on defense, plays were not called to his side, except more in the 3rd period. 2 turnovers were from being tripped and Hawes was held. He’ll have lots of energy today. Go LIN!

Was against Milwaukee. The conspiracist in me thinks it’s more than a coincidence that he hadn’t sported the mohawk since then!

  • golfhacker

Unfortunately, that is Hawes’ best defense.

Lin orchestrated that PJ bucket. Pointed to PJ when Kemba looked at him.

  • John Focker

Just got up and finished making breakfast for my girls. Started watching and as expected, Kemba’s worn out from last night and shot an amazing 1/7. No choice but more Jeremy!!!

  • sws94

  • NONONO

Do you guys know anything about Lin yesterday? Why off so much?

  • LinMad

i agree he should stay in

  • aras

haha dont know who is the mod here but i treat everyone equal :/

  • Whitman Lam

Probably having ankle sprain issues again.

  • blubell

    Yup.

  • BobbyH

You will find a pattern that whenever Lin plays great in games, those I-am-lin-fan-but-lin-suxks posts disappear.

When Lin played bad, those will just flood the forums, here and there on the other site.

  • guest

He wasn’t. He had a good game. Not much action even on the defensive side.

  • sws94

KW played more than Lin and isn’t playing as well. He should go out before Lin. Lin is looking good this game.

  • LinMad

and the pattern where Lin plays well and coach sits him to break his rhythm

  • TTNN

    yeah, I hate those posts.

  • zxcvb

Lin is looking good because he’s actually TOUCHING THE BALL.

The idea that “he wasn’t aggressive” last night is laughable. Kemba was hot, so he hogged it like crazy every possession. Tonight, Kemba is cold so Lin is getting to play some PG…and dominating in just 3m of PG time.

  • John Focker

…or the ban(s) from yesterday is still in effect?

  • Ben Johnson

ZERO plays set up for him, ZERO quality passes to him, Daniels and Roberts were actively freezing him out

  • zxcvb

Not touching the ball at all because Kemba was hot and hogging it.

    That’s it. No other reason.

  • cdblue10

The only saving grace for Lin on this team is he can opt out next year.He has nothing to gain from these losers

  • BobbyH

Doesn’t matter. They will use new names.

  • Ben Johnson

    Yup, agreed in every way

  • aras

probably play the whole second quarter if he continues to play like this so i am not concerned

  • Ben Johnson

    3rd block against for Kemba?

  • John Focker

Also that he got to clear the falsified bad defense rep.

  • Ben Johnson

No player as short as Kemba has been a superstar since at least the 70s

  • LinMad

If Lin was Kemba, he would have been left in. I think the reason Cliff is going with this rotation is because of yesterday.

  • Barry Allen

Yeah, that’s a good way to weed out the obsessional haters masquerading as Lin fans. I do feel sad for them though, their lives must be pretty empty, to have to fill it with so much hate over a player with such a giving personality, whom they never even met.

  • zxcvb

People think touching it once every 3 possessions is “enough.” Huh? This is the NBA!

Defense can always shut down the initial action. A PG must get the ball back later in a good spot.

    It’s NBA Offense 101.

  • blubell

    Please think before you post.

  • BobbyH

It is so OBVIOUS that there is a political agenda behind to prevent Lin outplays the designated so called star. If you are a rational coach, you play the hot hands, not sit them.

  • Ben Johnson

    Kemba won’t stop shooting!

  • BobbyH

    Make it 4.

  • Ben Johnson

This is politically designed to have Kemba get selected as an alternate, it’s crystal clear now

  • LinMad

why did Frank think about it. Time was running down.

  • golfhacker

Why should he – no repercussions.

  • cshot

    how is Jeremy doing

  • zxcvb

Terrible PG, only looking for his own stats. Which he does get of late, I’ll give him that.

If only Cliff, Cho and MJ had the guts to trade him for a quality big. Kemba for Gobert or something.

  • blubell

Good start. 7 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast

  • sws94

I hope he doesn’t come back cold though. Lin is a rhythm player and he was in rhythm.

  • LinMad

he won’t feel any heat because he’s Kemba. People are used to him shooting bad. If it was Lin going 2-9, complete meltdown.

  • zxcvb

…and touching the ball regularly. Which is shocking.

  • sws94

It didn’t start off that way. He barely touched it the first 8 or so possessions.

  • blubell

    And only one playing D.

  • Illbe

Unbelievable!! At the time out a family member joked that Lin would be pulled, I ignored the comment, but thought of saying,”That was Mchale, not Clifford.” Wrong 🙁 Is Clifford morphing into Mchale coaching style “Feed the STAR”. Clueless!!

  • aras

yeah true as long as he gets the touches he will be alright.

  • heart

Cliff does NOT know Lin is a rhythm player by now? Clueless or something else. Leaving KW in to play full 1qtr for 12:00 minutes straight??? And his scores are still less than Lin w/ 1 assist total. What kind of coaching is this?

  • Ben Johnson

Watch the freeze out of Lin begin fellas

  • LinMad

rob at PG again…why oh why

  • NONONO

Let’s not blame on Kemba on iso. He is always who he is – ISO. Clifford not just has giving him the green light to do whatever he likes, but also instructed others keep feeding him .

  • blubell

Psycho T is in with Jeremy.

  • Ben Johnson

ugh, that shot was not good

  • Alain Gervais

put too much air under it

  • LinMad

    finally some PnR with Tyler/Lin

  • Ben Johnson

seriously, just run high PnR every time down

  • Alain Gervais

What was that no foul. It has to be something

  • blubell

CHA announcer said Lin lost it…. he was fouled!

  • sws94

It was a foul, they missed it.

  • heart

Lin didn’t lose the ball as Hornets commentator said. He was fouled!

  • LinMad

CHA trying to devalue Lin so they can keep him

  • Ben Johnson

What’s cliffie’s prob? Kemba can chuck all day but doesn’t get a peep

  • Alain Gervais

    harden gets those all day

  • golfhacker

A couple of Lin’s shots have been high arching, some flat. He should just stick with the high archer.

  • Alain Gervais

It was a fast break. Its controlling tempo

  • travis

Nah I think it was a set rotation

  • John Focker

Jeremy should consider growing a beard!

  • TTNN

he don’t get the call unfortunately.

  • Alain Gervais

    fu manchu

  • aras

    The TANK!

  • Whitman Lam

Refs don’t call fouls against Lin, no matter what.

  • Alain Gervais

Lins form is not working lately

  • Ben Johnson

His shot is way off today

  • LinMad

here comes the negative comments cause Lin missed a few more shots

  • zxcvb

Roberts playing PG all 2Q…Lin losing his rhythm. Gotta find it again.

  • kauaiblue

    Why isn’t he playing pg?

  • Illbe

Perhaps, but a coach should adjust with the flow of the game…the Hornets were on a run. Why change it, but if you must pull a player or two, leave the one scoring in.

  • LinMad

does Lin really have only 1 assists still?

  • cshot

cus his name is jeremy lin

  • zxcvb

Cliff is a dummy. Lin found his rhythm as PG and he wanted to stop it.

  • blubell

I thought his pass to Kaminsky was an assist…

  • zxcvb

    Should have 3…bad scorekeeping.

  • cdblue10

I hope he concentrates on his balance, his strength should be coming from the legs not from the flick of the wrist.

  • blubell

    Assist #2

  • Ben Johnson

    Nice pass!

  • sws94

Lin looks great now. Except for his jumpshot.

  • aras

WHAT THE H*** IS THAT REF?

  • zxcvb

Should be #4. CHA scorekeeper cheating his own man.

  • Alain Gervais

he was falling. That was a bail out

  • blubell

Refs are against CHA in general.

  • LinMad

PJ did not run the play. Cliff angry. I saw Lin raising his hands like what are you doing PJ

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Totally agreed. I saw a couple more than weren’t putting on the stat. It happened at least 3-5 stat in different categories. Very dirty and annoying.

  • kauaiblue

    Wow, what was that about?

  • zxcvb

Playing for his own stats like Kemba. It makes everyone else selfish too.

  • 808JL7

Whoa Cliff yelling at PJ in the huddle.

  • heart

Why is Cliff so animated and angry?

  • kauaiblue

Clifford yelling like that for one play?

  • aras

i love it right thing to do

  • zxcvb

Seems like they don’t want his stats to outshine a certain other Hornet.

  • Ben Johnson

Yeah, but he’ll never yell at Kemba

  • LinMad

I think he’s more angry that a player wasn’t running the play. It’s disrespectful to coach and other players are lost.

  • cdblue10

This is not a well coach team,a coach that’s always calling for play not trusting the play to developed is always a bad team.

  • kauaiblue

Why does he like hawes so much? tyler hansbrough so much better!

  • LinMad

Hawes going for the dunk. Not gonna happen.

  • zxcvb

Lin playing off the ball all quarter…what a dumb move.

  • cdblue10

He is in love with his man bun…lol

  • aras

    i swear i hate hairston

  • blubell

    Good pass

  • Alain Gervais

    why

  • Ben Johnson

He hasn’t played PG for weeks now

  • zxcvb

Lin was too good in the 1Q. Cliff had to stop him by playing Roberts as PG.

  • zxcvb

He played PG for 3m in the 1st!

  • heart

Don’t like how Cliff yelled at PJ when he made a 3 on previous play. Now it might bother him and may affect his shooting…

  • aras

he has nothing to offer he is a below average shooter has tunnel vision overrated defender etc the guy thinks he is steph curry shooting every damn ball he gets.

  • travis

His defense has been great since

  • kauaiblue

    I agree. What the heck?

  • travis

A few nice drives would be nice

  • sws94

Get used to it. He did a lot of great facilitation off-ball. He’s playing well.

  • LinMad

Cliff yells at everybody when they don’t listen to him. He might tone it down a little on Kemba but he still lets Kemba know when hes not happy.

  • cdblue10

All his team mates except Williams and Tyler are like that…lol

  • kauaiblue

Double standard. he never yells at walker or batum…

  • zxcvb

No driving lanes. Or rather, when he does have driving lanes no one passes to him

Teammates didn’t like him scoring in the 1Q, I guess.

  • Ben Johnson

I’ll say this about the Hornets, they are very good at taking care of the ball as a team…

  • CaliUSMC

Who did Lin get an and1 on ?

  • Alain Gervais

    the rookie

  • zxcvb

    Porzingod

  • CaliUSMC

    NICE

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well, what kind I say???? The only conclusion that I have about NBA is it’s such a corrupt, dirty, biased, colorblind organization. I’m literally fed up the more I watch JLin games. Once JLin is retired from NBA, that’s it for me for NBA and any kind of sports.

  • heart

Cliff kind of stuns his players when they’re doing well. He usually stops their momentum… So far we saw two incidents in this game. Took Lin out while he’s hot and yelled at PJ while he’s hot.

  • travis

Nah he’s out of the rythym he had in the 1st just needs to find it again

  • zxcvb

Well, except for Kemba and Nic. They’re always allowed to shoot themselves out of a slump.

  • sws94

    Kemba is awful today.

  • blubell

    And 1 for MW

  • Ben Johnson

Playing like the worst player on the floor tonight

  • LinMad

    he seems frantic

  • kauaiblue

NOt impressed with clifford. he has a doubel standard with mediocre “stars.”

  • blubell

    Cooling down

  • blubell

    2222222

  • CaliUSMC

    222222222222222222222

  • Dorothy

    22222222

  • Ben Johnson

Cliff needs to bench Kemba, dude is exhausted

  • golfhacker

    Reversion to the mean.

  • 808JL7

    Probably exhausted from last night.

  • CaliUSMC

    2 ft’s!

  • blubell

    Finally a call

  • Ben Johnson

Most efficient cutter in the league is out boy!

  • Ben Johnson

Oh, that better be a foul

  • CaliUSMC

dude melo just gave lin a left jab

  • Ben Johnson

    that’s a flagrant

  • Dorothy

Did you see how Carmelo fouled Lin, ridiculous

  • blubell

    Made both

  • Alain Gervais

    not really

  • heart

That was intentional on Melo! Should be flagrant!

  • blubell

    Jeremy still feeling that hit

  • Alain Gervais

    good d

  • BobbyH

That’s the tough Lin I like. Bring it on. Keep fouling me and I will win this game.

  • golfhacker

    That’s about 10 in a row!

  • aras

HAHAH im sorry but did anyone hear the lady say (dont hurt lin now dont hurt lin!) i love it..my man lin should have been a boxer

  • Ben Johnson

even if you’re going for the ball, if you connect with the head/face fairly hard, it’s usually a flagrant

  • LinMad

every superstar Lin played with seem to be dirty to Lin

  • CaliUSMC

    lin assist

  • blubell

    Assist!

  • Ben Johnson

    JLin taking over!

  • zxcvb

    LIN AS PG = WIN

  • kauaiblue

    Hawes is terrible…

  • CaliUSMC

    hawes is ice cold

  • Alain Gervais

hawes thought about that shot way too much

  • blubell

Please don’t take him out, coach, like you did last time! He is in a rhythm

  • zxcvb

Take notes, MJ. You only have one true PG on this team and it ain’t Kemba.

  • kauaiblue

That needs to be a flagrant on carmelo anthony… punk…

  • NONONO

it shows how much Kobe and Carmelo hate Lin

  • heart

Don’t call them superstar. Those who hit Lin intentionally are nothing but dirty jealous players.

  • LinMad

how are we ahead with KW shooting so poorly? Team basketball, Lin getting more touches.

  • David Ly

Totally heard the same thing and make me chuckle.

  • Ben Johnson

Agreed, just because you claim to go for the ball, if you end up punching a guy in the face, it’s a Flagrant 1

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • zxcvb

I agree. That was dirty (from behind). Afflalo was in front and fouled to prevent the bucket, that’s fine. But Melo’s karate chop was unnecessary.

  • Ben Johnson

Easy, when JLin is allowed to play his game, it’s worth much more than Kemba’s 52

  • kauaiblue

It was obviously done in bad faith…

  • Alain Gervais

    no its not a flagrant.

  • LinMad

    Smacked by Harden

  • Alain Gervais

very borderline. but when i saw it , it didn’t seem like a flagrant

  • zxcvb

Whenever Kemba shoots poorly, the Hornets look good. ‘Cause he gives it up.

Even last night, Hornets saved the game with an 11-0 run where Kemba DIDN’T EVEN SHOOT, much less score.

  • LinMad

Hawes, 50% he will lose the ball inside the paint lol

  • zxcvb

    *90%

  • kauaiblue

    lol… 75%

  • LinMad

oh man that smack on Lopez was hard. Hawes lucky it wasn’t offensive foul

  • zxcvb

Robin Lopez would be nice in CHA. Just a solid, scrappy defender and rebounder. He can finish decently as well.

  • BobbyH

Just keep shooting. Eventually it will come.

  • blubell

    FT made

  • LinMad

    WHOOOOOOOO free point

  • Ben Johnson

they let Jeremy shoot that tech, wow

  • blubell

    Wow. HAWES…

  • zxcvb

At least Fisher stands up for his players. If only Lin had a coach like that.

  • LinMad

    butter finger Hawes

  • Alain Gervais

he is such a bad roll man

  • aras

    hawes….

  • CaliUSMC

    Hawes = new Asik

  • Alain Gervais

    Hawes is 1-7

  • zxcvb

Hawes should be horse-whipped. Costs Lin 3 dimes and 1 TO every game.

  • Ben Johnson

asik was way better, if that’s possible

  • Alain Gervais

    take hawes out

  • zxcvb

    At least Omer defended!

  • blubell

    Asik… would have made it.

  • CaliUSMC

    hawes again wow

  • Dorothy

    asik is better than him

  • 808JL7

Look at Kemba go and he misses the layup.!!

  • blubell

    So frustrating

  • zxcvb

DAM YOU HAWES. CATCH THE BALL.

  • LinMad

was that a bad pass or another butter finger catch attempt?

  • TTNN

Hawes need to catch the ball.

  • zxcvb

He didn’t even try. Just watched it go by him.

  • Ben Johnson

    Assist

  • Alain Gervais

hawes is killing me right now

  • zxcvb

    Butterfingers.

  • CaliUSMC

12/4/4 for the half is pretty damn good though. Good half by Lin.

  • LinMad

Hawes killing Lin and KW lol

  • Ben Johnson

    HAWES! What the heck!

  • blubell

    Should have more assists.

  • Ben Johnson

JLin has 2 fouls, hence why he’s sitting

  • CaliUSMC

    Oh well 😐

  • Alain Gervais

hawes can never ever start ever again.

  • blubell

    Yup

  • aras

ooooooh i want to swear at hawes in this forum right now…but i wont

  • travis

All I have to say is spencer hawes

  • blubell

    Jeremy half time interview

  • zxcvb

Hawes cost Lin 2 TOs and 2 dimes this half alone.

  • zxcvb

“My bigs suuuuuck. Kemba is a hoooog. Cliff is clueless.”

    [DROPS MIC]

  • travis

And Lopez is scoring at will on him lmao

  • LinMad

The substitution shows that Clifford doesn’t know what he’s doing. Why put in Roberts at the last seconds with Knicks with the ball? We needed Lin’s defense more than Roberts.

  • blubell

    In less than 2 minutes.

  • Ben Johnson

    2 PFs LinMAD

  • BobbyH

Lin cut his hair? It seems a bit short than last week.

  • Alain Gervais

I’m sure its more then that. How often did he get the ball near the rim and miss

  • DX

Lin’s lips and ears are so red.

  • zxcvb

It’s insane how bad the CHA bigs are. Worst in the league by far. A D-League team might outplay them.

  • LinMad

He had that for awhile though.

  • Ben Johnson

    RUBBER BOY!

  • zxcvb

    Cold/Flu? It’s a blizzard back East.

  • blubell

    Haha. Classy.

  • Alain Gervais

exactly why pick it up in the last seconds

  • Hope

    I like the move actually.

  • DX

Can I say Hornets has the worst Cs ?

  • 808JL7

Coach didn’t want him getting the 3rd in the final seconds. Right move.

  • xeroid

Don’t you understand basketball? Knicks has been going after Lin after he defended well against Affalo. He has 2 fouls, do not need to get number 3.

  • Alain Gervais

    Kemba 3-13 jeez

  • zxcvb

I kinda hope he does do something like that eventually. Can’t afford to show attitude right now, but if reunited with MDA…

  • LinMad

    we already know that

  • blubell

We’ve been saying it for a while. You’re late to the party lol

  • BobbyH

At least he deferred late in 2Q.

  • Alain Gervais

    Hawes is 1-7

  • zxcvb

He’s lucky to have that. At least guys keep passing to him when open. When Lin misses 2 shots in a row, he doesn’t see the ball again for 10-15m of real time.

  • guest

Lin playing great! Let’s hit one 3.

  • heart

Both Kobe and Melo are friends. Both played dirty on Lin. Both didn’t want Lin to be on their team to outshine them. Lately we have seen lots of players taken hard fouls on Lin. This is violence and bullying against Lin. Don’t tell me that it’s not.

  • xeroid

He also cost Kemba 1 TO.

  • blubell

Well, you’re saying for him 🙂

  • zxcvb

Streetballer mentality. Never let the white — or god forbid — Asian guy score on you.

There’s a great movie called “White Men Can’t Jump.” Can you imagine the “shame” of an Asian guy beating you?

  • guest

A compilation video would be good.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin don’t have 14 points

  • blubell

He smiled when Dell mentioned the hard foul. Laugh it off. Tough. Moving on.

  • TTNN

yeah, I was checking everywhere, he got 12

  • LinMad

The only problem I have is that they should have been flagrants. The refs need to do a better job. I don’t think these superstars are targeting Lin on purpose.

  • LinMad

where did u watch the interview?

  • zxcvb

He’s the toughest guy in the league, all things considered. The physical and mental hits he has to take every night would break Kobe. In fact, they did last season when Kobe quit on his team and Lin kept going.

  • kauaiblue

    lol

  • blubell

    I have ballstreams.

  • kauaiblue

yeah, any video guys out there?

  • xeroid

Afflalo was 0-4, Lin defending him well, Afflalo was pretty mad and started to push Lin away from him, Lin also caused a offensive foul by Lopez.

  • zxcvb

I’m not even kidding! Jeremy himself said that throughout his life, every guy wanted to guard him on the playground just out of stereotyping. Boy, were those dummies in for a surprise…

  • LinMad

i see they didn’t have it on LP

  • kauaiblue

I know! the way you said it was funny…

  • zxcvb

He was totally overwhelmed and shut down. Only pts were on fake FTs on non-existent contact.

  • Ben Johnson

Jeremy’s favorite pregame meal is pesto shrimp pasta 😀

  • LinMad

Lin’s favorite pre-game food is shrimp pesto

  • zxcvb

Need more Lin/Tyler PnR. Even if Tyler can’t finish, at least it gets FTs and fouls on the Knicks.

  • LinMad

all the other players liked grilled chicken or italian food. At least it ain’t fried chicken.

  • heart

I do. Melo didn’t aim for the ball. He aimed at Lin’s face. His arm swung up to Lin’s neck, no where near the ball. Kobe stepped on Lin’s foot to get up while smiling to distract people from looking at his foot. On another play, he also swung his arm against Lin’s head making his head snapped backward and fell on his back to the hardwood floor w/ the back of his head hitting the floor.

  • LinMad

ya but I think Kobe stepped on Lin’s toe on accident. He was trying to get balance. Either way I don’t like Kobe. I don’t know if Carmelo hates Lin but I think it’s not as bad as Kobe or Isaiah Thomas.

  • blubell

Yeah, it was mentioned few games ago. They’re replaying it.

  • Ben Johnson

I don’t know man, I went over that Kobe-Lin replay a dozen times, and it really looks like he was trying to step on JLin’s ankle

  • kauaiblue

Clifford is not smart enough to realize this, let alone implement it…

  • FrankW

Sure its not grilled Kobe beef?

  • LinMad

ok i hope it’s just smart decision then and not penalizing him for the 2 TOs from Hawes

  • Ben Johnson

Hopefully Jeremy can find his form during the halftime shootarounds…what always works best for him is to start shooting more after a bunch of FT attempts, lets him warm up a bit

  • Briiick

Cliff is not going to spend time thinking how to play to Lin’s strength, if not worse.

  • blubell

Affalo cant do anything against Jeremy

  • blubell

    Great D 🙂

  • LinMad

    good d

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • blubell

    Affalo is mad lol

  • Ben Johnson

Where are the plays being run for JLin?

  • LinMad

Knicks defense strategy looks like D. Fisher said, “Foul them hard but dont’ be seen”

  • golfhacker

    Haha Lin frustrating Affalo!

  • DX

Lin has save so many possessions.

  • kauaiblue

walker chucker is back, and clifford is not doing anything about it…

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Walker is Cliff’s boy. What do you expect????

  • zxcvb

Kemba is horrible. He’s hogging and taking everyone out of their rhythm just to get his own stats by volume.

  • heart

Of course, not allowing anyone to have more pts than him, if he can help it.

  • LinMad

ya the few last possessions were selfish. Ball didn’t move.

  • blubell

    Please. No name calling.

  • LinMad

Maybe cause MJ isn’t sitting on front row right now, (getting nachos or something) so KW trying to sneak some ISO plays in.

  • Alain Gervais

he is a sg who has the ball a lot

  • Ben Johnson

JLin is playing his azz off on D, and gets no reward from Kemba…

  • NONONO

Knicks two starting guards 6pts 4 assists. Hornets 24 and 6

  • zxcvb

Stopped 3 possessions himself this quarter already.

  • LinMad

    If Lin had Porzingis

  • blubell

    FTs coming up.

  • Alain Gervais

    the suit is so bad

  • blubell

Too bad ballstreams doesn’t have NY feed. Miss Clyde…

  • zxcvb

No ball movement with Kemba as PG. He just wants his own shot.

  • blubell

    33333333

  • LinMad

WOW KEMBA PASSED TO LIN AND 333333

  • blubell

    Linsanity!!

  • aras

    WOOOOO LIN

  • LinMad

    attack mode 22222222222

  • zxcvb

    LIN handling it = WIN

  • zxcvb

It’s okay if someone else brings it up, but in the halfcourt Lin MUST play PG.

  • blubell

    Assist #5

  • zxcvb

    Lin to PJ…beautiful!

  • LinMad

    again

  • sws94

Lin is terrific this game. Just terrific. Facilitating well from the 2 or whatever position he’s playing.

  • DX

    Yes, 4 years anniversary. Lin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Ben Johnson

Takes notes Kemba, without scoring JLin controls the game more that you can ever hope to by scoring 50

  • NONONO

    PJ doing great today

  • zxcvb

Lin showing MJ who the REAL PG is.

A real PG doesn’t need 30 shots and OT to beat the Magic. He gets others involved and plays both ends.

  • blubell

    Hope MW is ok.

  • Ben Johnson

Controlling the floor on both ends

  • blubell

    Go PJ!

  • LinMad

    Hairsanity!!!!!

  • blubell

    Hairstonsanity? Lol

  • zxcvb

When Lin gets going, everyone gets going. Even PJ looks good.

  • golfhacker

Jeremy Lin is Derek Fisher’s worst nightmare!

    http://youtu.be/IqW9UoYRpLI

  • Briiick

The separation only happens when teammates get hot, helped by Lin’s facilitating.

  • blubell

    Almost and 1

  • zxcvb

That would have been NBA play of the night.

  • blubell

    Made both FTs. 21 pts!

  • 60K LinMad-sanity!

  • heart

    Update assists: Lin: 5; KW: 2; Hawes: 3; PJ 1; Kam:1; Roberts:1

  • aras

This is called teamball everyone moves the ball and scores MORE OF THIS PLEASE!

  • Ben Johnson

    Lets go for 30 JLin!

  • blubell

    Why not 53? Lol

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

Ha ha. “watever position he’s playing”. A very funny description f Lin’s situation.

  • zxcvb

Notice how when Lin is scoring the Hornets WIN as well. 14pt lead!!!

When Kemba scores 40, even 50pts, the Hornets are trailing or in OT.

  • Ben Johnson

Kemba still hasn’t figured out that the more you pass to your teammates and get some good looks, the harder they play for you on defense

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • heart

KW kept the ball to shoot for himself instead of passing it back to Lin. I think he was going to cut to the basket.

  • David Ly

Yeah I saw that. He faked the pass and then shot a fadeaway J.

  • sws94

Yeah, he faked the pass for some reason or another.

  • zxcvb

And yet simple-minded, racist Hornets fans cheer Kemba and bash Lin as “overrated.”

  • JLin Fan from Australia

He just wants to be a hero.

  • xeroid

Lin gets his shooting Mojo back, his foul shots go right through the center.

  • Ben Johnson

When did JLin get a block? It looked like he altered the shot, but I didn’t think he actually got a piece

  • Alain Gervais

Carmelo looks like a shell of himself

  • NONONO

Lin 21 pts and 5 assists, looks easy too

  • zxcvb

This is why Kemba’s 40-50pt are not impressive. If Lin got those looks, he’d get that in 2/3 the FGA.

  • blubell

Roberts did it too 1st half. Hornets “PG”s for ya.

  • David Ly

    Getting that Kobe-itis.

  • Alain Gervais

when aafalo lost the ball out of bounce

  • David Ly

He’s becoming a block master so much that he gets blocks without even doing it.

  • heart

Yep! While he’s playing as SG or PF.

  • zxcvb

Should be 8 dimes with correct scorekeeping. 10 assists with Hawes not being an oaf.

  • Ben Johnson

    so close!

  • John Focker

    Both Melo and Kemba.

  • blubell

    No more injuries, please.

  • LinMad

KW saw Lin opened, but shot anyways

  • blubell

No more Kemba isos , please.

  • zxcvb

Kemba killing ball movement and Lin’s rhythm…as usual.

  • LinMad

    BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!

  • blubell

    Beautiful ball movement

  • Ben Johnson

    Hockey Assist

  • zxcvb

    LIN BALL.

  • BobbyH

    team-ball is contagious

  • blubell

    Good job Psycho T.

  • LinMad

yep Tyler saw a man on him so he dished it out to Troy.

  • zxcvb

Great pass by Lin. He fooled me too…I thought he was shooting it.

  • NONONO

Hans should have dunked that shot. it is open

  • LinMad

    2 FTs

  • Ben Johnson

    Freebies 😀

  • blubell

    Perfect from the line!

  • LinMad

Lin has not missed one FT

  • zxcvb

Rhythm still not great due to Kemba chucking, but Lin is getting the ball enough to draw FTs.

  • Ben Johnson

    10 FOR 10!!!!

  • golfhacker

Clyde Frazier saying sweet revenge for Lin!

  • zxcvb

Lin guarding 3 guys on every play!

  • blubell

    Perfection.

  • LinMad

    Knicks are frustrated

  • golfhacker

    That’s about 20 in a row overall!

  • Ben Johnson

JLin with a well earned, monster +23

  • blubell

    Bloody nose again 🙁

  • Acbc

    Clyde is the coolest!

  • zxcvb

Lin Ball = 20pt lead in the 3Q on the 2nd game of a back-to-back.

Kemba Ball = needs OT to beat Utah and Orlando fully rested.

  • I am The Jason

    Another bloody nose for Lin

  • Ben Johnson

    Yup, we rest our case

  • zxcvb

I wonder what MJ is really thinking right now…

  • blubell

    Bloody nose everywhere

  • LinMad

Cliff had to tell Tyler don’t rebound with 0.02 seconds on the clock

  • rookie75094

    Ohh yeah…Linsanity.

  • Ben Johnson

Usually I would want Jlin to sit, but I would really like to see him put 30 up against the Knicks!

  • LinMad

right on the money. Cliff needs to excuse Roberts at PG and let Lin be the PG.

  • Briiick

The important difference is that Lin always cares about his teammates and helps them warm up along with himself, always with a big BB IQ and large court vision.

  • zxcvb

Kemba needs to sit for the rest of the game.

Call it “a well-deserved rest” after last game or whatever.

  • rookie75094

Jimmy dolan will be crying himself to sleep tonight. ..hehe

  • zxcvb

Same here. But he may be done unless Roberts and Daniels really screw up…and they might.

  • Ben Johnson

    heh, that’s a good possibility

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • zxcvb

Even if he doesn’t get the assists, he moves the ball.

Getting assists can be selfish too — it often means you’re only willing to pass to collect a stat. Or you’re only involving one guy per play. Hockey assists are so key in today’s game.

  • David Ly

    minutes!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOL Not going to happen. Kemba is in and not Lin in 4th qtr.

  • Briiick

Exactly. Lin is a much larger player than stats.

  • zxcvb

Kemba in…Lin out? Oy vey. They REALLY want Kemba to get empty stats to be an All-Star reserve. He’ll never make it as a starter, so I guess this is their plan.

  • Ben Johnson

If he comes back in and ends up with 30, then he’ll still have around a 19ppg average as a starter during his 8 game stint

  • golfhacker

Kemba calling a play for himself.

  • LinMad

resting, he has most minutes on team

  • zxcvb

Kidd and Billups were the same way — whatever it takes to win.

  • LinMad

    that’s Kemba

  • LinMad

took out Lin for 1 minute, and we look so bad. Just got dunked on by Lopez.

  • heart

Both KW and Roberts iso’d and kept missing.

  • David Ly

the lead is getting thinner. I think Lin will be in soon.

  • sws94

Too much one-on-one junk there from Roberts. Surprised Tyler with that pass.

  • zxcvb

The only thing I will say for Kemba is that, hogging or not, his 3pt shot has really improved.

  • Ben Johnson

Looks like JLin will be coming back in shortly

  • LinMad

MJ has smoke out his ears right now

  • I am The Jason

Time to put Lin back in and sit Roberts

  • Briiick

LOL, Cliff can’t risk the game in bag.

  • rookie75094

    You predicted it…awsome

  • Epie

Tyler does way better with Lin, let them play together plz.

  • blubell
  • Ben Johnson

I wonder if Kemba will shout out a “Vote for JLin” tweet after the game, but likely it will be a “Vote for ME, 5/20 aint too bad” tweet

  • David Ly

the behind the back. he needs to start doing that more a-la Nash.

  • LinMad

Tyler is just a “Pass it to Kemba” guy when Lin is out

We have about 5 mins of Kemba Hero ball coming up that will make or break this game. You know its coming.”

  • blubell
  • David Kim

he will tweet ” Vote for me” LOL

  • LinMad

Wow Cliff is sticking with this lineup

  • LinMad

perfect time to inject Lin in…KW is shooting too much

  • blubell

Their best player is still benched…

  • Lam

Hornets live or die(mostly)with Kemba’s shooting. They are not going to the playoffs.

  • LinMad

    guess not

  • Ben Johnson

The only reason why a Roberts Daniels rotation succeeded last night was b/c the Magic imploded, that’s about it

  • TTNN

I hope coach don’t put in Lin too late

  • blubell

    Jeremy coming in soon

  • TTNN

yes, Lin will be back in

  • golfhacker

    Jeremy coming in!

  • LinMad

    time out

  • zxcvb

    MJ seeing something tonight…hopefully…maybe.

  • blubell

    Unfortunately, with Hawes.

  • LinMad

    i don’t think he’s happy with Kemba’s ball hog

  • TTNN

oh, he was so good with T though

  • zxcvb

LOL, Kemba beating his chest 6-22 and blowing a 22pt lead.

    What a clown.

  • blubell

    I think Hawes will replace T 🙁

  • LinMad

it only took like 5 tries

  • blubell
  • Ben Johnson

Jeremy has literally destroyed Afflalo tonight

  • David Ly

If I were to choose between the Magic game yesterday and Knicks, I’d choose the Knicks based on the amount of PR and press he’ll get beating his former team. The media still loves Lin in NY.

  • blubell

So Kemba going for another 40+minutes.

  • NONONO

    GREAT D

  • heart

It seems like on each possession KW looks to score for himself instead of making play first.

  • zxcvb

Lin defense already saved a bucket. Maybe two after that PJ errant save.

  • blubell

He really wants to get into All-star.

  • LinMad

Kemba taking shots like he is the entire Hornets team. Lin not forcing any shots, passes to an open MW.

  • Briiick

    Lin’s defense is very sharp.

  • zxcvb

In and out! Cliff and Kemba ruining his rhythm.

  • Epie

Come on guys.. slow it down.. don’t really need 3s

  • Alain Gervais

give the ball back to Lin

  • Alain Gervais

Cliff probably rested Lin a little too much

  • zxcvb

Kemba needs to sit. Let Lin play PG and win this.

  • LinMad

sit Kemba for now, he’s making everyone play frantically

  • zxcvb

Yeah, that 3 looked good..just in and out. Sign of off-rhythm.

  • Briiick

KW is playing street ball, SMH.

Kemba shot them back in it very predictable

  • blubell

  • Ben Johnson

    YES

  • Ben Johnson

    4 more come on!

  • LinMad

Finally Kemba, I hope his team ball mode is activated

  • zxcvb

Lin is really confident in his jumper this season…make or miss.

    Just needs more rhythm touches.

  • blubell

    boooo. refs.

  • golfhacker

    Unforced TO.

  • LinMad

how is that a TO, but ok ill take it

  • Alain Gervais

    he did though

  • NONONO

  • Ben Johnson

    Jeremy is exhauasted

  • zxcvb

Bad TO. Lin is playing both ends, though. Fatigue might be a factor.

  • aras

wow 5 to for lin prob tired

  • Alain Gervais

Lin had 3 tov in the 4th and 1 bad defense play

  • LinMad

ok we need that bucket from Kemba

  • heart

What happened on that play? Why was it a TO?

  • zxcvb

Who cares? 2 of his early TOs were on Hawes.

YAWN. And he’s had 20 good defensive plays.

  • Alain Gervais

    Maybe its fatigue

  • blubell

    Lost focus, fatigue…

  • tom

Way too many TOs Lin needs to take care of the ball
    Too many unneccessary TOs lately
    Needs to get it together

  • Alain Gervais

    yea he probably tired

  • LinMad

he dribbled and it just went flat between the defenders legs

  • Ben Johnson

Definitely…he plays so hard on D, that 30 minutes for him is like 40 minutes for most players

  • Promo Sports World

Or we really complaining about TOs

He has had a great game

    My Knicks are struggling

  • DX

    Too many TOs for Lin.

  • tom

2 were on Hawes but the last one is just bad

  • 808JL7

    And batum.

  • tom

still 2 TOs in crunch time

  • Promo Sports World

oh my.. Kemba’s gonna take the credit for the win again…

  • LinMad

    wow PJ got schooled

  • golfhacker

    Yeah. I’m ok with that.

  • zxcvb

LOL, now Kemba gets cheap FTs to statpad.

    What a trash “star.”

  • blubell

Kemba wants to tie Jeremy’s points?

  • Alain Gervais

not really. He wanted a foul call

  • Ben Johnson

Kemba does not deserve to be the leading scorer tonight!

  • LinMad

    really…MVP chants for Kemba?

  • aras

    what?

  • John Focker

No, Kemba wants to EXCEED Jeremy’s scoring…

  • NONONO

Lin and Kemba FT 20/20 wow

  • zxcvb

Kemba mad he’s not getting fouled to pass Lin’s point total.

  • LinMad

Kemba wanted to shoot that last one. You know he wants the most points lol

  • John Focker

Kemba 26 on 25 shots, Jeremy 26 on 17 shots.

PJ was the player of the game? haha, give me a break!

  • Promo Sports World

  • LinMad

MJ looks happy today. He saw team basketball. He wasn’t smiling at that 52 pt Kemba game.

  • zxcvb

Kemba looks subdued even though they beat a playoff rival by double-digits.

He smiles and cheers in losses and ugly OT wins…as long as he gets stats.

  • John Focker

I’d rather PJ has it than Kemba.

  • LinMad

    wasn’t*

  • tom

Player of the game Hairston? Like are you freaking kidding me

  • blubell

It’s okay. He played well today and had a career high. Let him have it.

  • Alain Gervais

    first time scoring 20

  • NONONO

    Hawes 2pts?

  • heart

Sick of Hornets kept puffing up KW’s points w/o mentioning how many shots he took…This game was won w/defense from Lin and other players while KW kept trying to make over 20pts.

  • Promo Sports World

Nah Kemba really isn’t that type of player

    A chucker yes

Probably down because he is tired and missed too many

    He likes Lin

  • David Ly

Totally saw this coming since it’s NY. Linsanity is still relevant.

Yup, he played well. Career high.

  • blubell

  • Promo Sports World

    Yeah me too

Just don’t think he is that type of player (an opinion)

  • sws94

I agree. He’s a good guy. He has some bad habits as a player, but he’s a decent guy.

  • tom

Lin got em going just saying
He clearly outplayed Hairston who just got lucky toight

  • John Focker

The concept of FG% exceeds the IQ of casual NBA fans.

  • zxcvb

I don’t know…I saw him laughing and whooping last game and the Utah game — even though they should have won those easily. He was laughing even when the game was in doubt or losing!

  • Alain Gervais

Lin end up with 40 minutes

  • Promo Sports World

    And defense on Melo

  • LinMad

They should have most unselfish player of the game awards

  • sws94

Why not? PJ played with good force. Had a great game. Lin was close but had a lot of TOs. I don’t care about Lin’s TOs though, he played great.

  • gasparthe2nd

Hurrah!! my man Lin!! He led the way to beat my Knicks [y’all know that I’m a Newyorker]. But its’ OK… I lifted the Linsanity Curse against the Knicks last season and so any lost incurred by my Knicks now is of their own doing 😉

  • LinMad

Lin’s defense has become much better this season and he can still do his thing on offense when given the chance.

  • grover chang

thats not the case here so he needs to be careful for his own good

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Both of you are right. Saw that right in my eye. Kemba worked so hard to tie with JLin. He wanted to but…. Thought he was going for 30fgas.

  • LinMad

For all those seasons when Lin was told he was weak and soft. Now he looks like the stronger player in the NBA. Boxing out big men, defending like a warrior. Getting smacked on the face all the time and still keeps playing.

  • kauaiblue

    Huh?

  • tom

    Thank you.

  • TTNN

    really nice win.

  • LinMad

    huh? 22+9 = 31

  • Ben Johnson

me too, but the world only focuses on points, and sometimes assists…

  • tom

    Not everyone can win championships
John stockton and Karl Malone couldnt win it either
Doesnt mean they were not great
Melo is still a great player even if he hasnt won anything

  • sws94

Lin key performer on MSG post-game show. Clyde Frazier is praising him.

  • TTNN

yeah, I get nervous that Afflalo go after Lin, trying to back him down. Good Lin hold himself, and Afflalo stop doing that after 2 try.

  • heart

I still can’t get over that non-call ‘flagrant’ foul on Melo. That was so dirty low and the ref called a ‘regular’ foul on Melo. I thought anything above the shoulder is ‘flagrant’. Saw Lin’s face got all red and puffy after that.

  • leeda harun

    Well done lin. 🙂

  • sws94

He might have been 12 for 12. Not sure.

  • John Focker

Amazing athlete, perhaps. Great player, depends on one’s standard and definition of what’s “great”.

    I’ll leave it at that.

  • gasparthe2nd

Yes, he’s good like Harden or Kobe or maybe even Kemba. But he wasn’t a good team player then, and that’s what it takes to win games. He won’t win any championships while he’s with the Knicks.

  • sws94

Great game. Doesn’t have to be perfect, he played Lin ball tonight. Great bounce back game and funny, just like the 0-for game, scored 26 in the next one.

  • Epie

Does anyone know where I can send this for Lin?

  • John Focker

There are players who deserve HOF who aren’t there (ex: Tom Chambers) and some who weren’t but are.

  • tom

    True
I enjoy good iso players too
just not kemba hes not great at it

  • Dorothy

    lol

  • leeda harun

nothing is certain about lin 🙂

  • tom

    Not at all
But I enjoyed him as a great iso player
Still got lots of love for the Denver Nuggets with him and Iverson

  • leeda harun

    oh…nice…lol

  • JoeTeam

you won the dosh , right?

  • JoeTeam

    dirk too

  • JoeTeam

hes ok compared to jh, kw

  • Hope

I always like the color Knicks commentary. He’s very complimentary of lin. He’s Def a lof. He implied that lin really gets the team play in sync. Everyone got touches and scores.

He was there with the birth of Linsanity. Clyde is a fan of Lin’s and was from day 1 of Linsanity.

I agree. LBJ didn’t like him from the beginning… now he & his friend can be like Kobe & BS… smh!

Just miss all of them and watch highlights unless you want to endure Walker chucking 25 shots and only making 7 while Lin shot 17 and made 7!

If you read the article, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordon both did the same thing to get their championship coach. These stars know they have the power to get the coach them want when they’re being misused. Wish we could say the same for Lin who gets misused ALL THE TIME minus MDA! This is exactly why Lin needs MDA as much as MDA needs Lin!

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think this friend of LBJ it’s the coach for him to get the ring this year. Just easy for LBJ to in charge this team. Like Kobe & BS.

  • Arsenium12 .

Now Jeremy gets to go back to California twice (Kings and Lakers) …

    Mon, Jan 25 @ Sacramento
    Wed, Jan 27 @ Utah
    Fri, Jan 29 @ Portland
Sun, Jan 31 @ Los Angeles

  • Acbc

So did I. Didn’t expect this them let Lin play team ball. Just can’t understand this team at all.

  • sport

We’ll see but it’s obvious LBJ will continue to lose to GSW.

  • CJSHYY

LBJ is not as good as before… he will not get the ring this year.

This was during halftime when he was asked about the Carmelo’s hard foul

  • Ben Johnson

How is that not a flagrant? I really have no words…

  • Ben Johnson

I suggest everyone write to the league office to point out the flagrant nature of Melo’s foul…they can, and have, changed foul calls…could cost him 5k, could get him suspended for the game, but he deserves some type of punishment

  • CJSHYY

I don’t get why Melo needed to do this? smh! Thanks God, Fisher benched him in 4Q.

  • Acbc

Come on, when should a team not want to win? Lol. That’s what I don’t get….what was so special about tonight that they decided let’s go for the team win tonight. It was a full moon and a major snow storm. Can that be it???

    WooHoo!!!
So happy that JL7 had a great game tonight =). I’ve been waiting for this game for weeks now. Let’s GO, Hornets – climb back to Top 4 EC.

  • sport

If JL7 gets touches like this every game, sure. If he continues to be marginalized and stuck at the corner then no they don’t deserve a playoff birth! Notice how Walker still took 25 shots whiich is only 3 shots less than last game but Lin was aggressive and took 17 shots! This is why he got his 26 points! If Lin took 25 shots like Walker he’d have 40 points already!

    http://nypost.com/2016/01/23/weary-knicks-get-hit-with-a-familiar-storm-linsanity/

“With Carmelo Anthony off his game and sitting out the fourth quarter with either a sore left knee or a sore ego, Hornets guard Jeremy Lin continued to shine in his games against the Knicks. This time, he racked up 26 points, hitting 7-of-16 shots from the floor and all 10 of his free throws as the Hornets won, 97-84 at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Anthony, who never jelled with Lin when they were teammates, sat out the fourth quarter with a blue towel over his head after not showing much life in the second night of a back-to-back. Anthony had surgery on his left knee last February, but has not complained at all this season.”

Worn Carmelo watches dreaded Jeremy Lin light up Knicks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Knicks got hit by a storm Saturday night — but this one wasn’t called Jonas. You may have heard of it: Linsanity.

An off-his-game Carmelo Anthony sat the fourth quarter with a sore left knee — or a sore ego — but way before that, Hornets guard Jeremy Lin continued to light up the Knicks. This time, Lin racked up 26 points, five assists, made all 10 of his free throws and was a game-high plus-23 as the Hornets rolled, 97-84, at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Anthony, who never jelled with Lin when they were teammates, sat out the fourth with a blue towel over his head after not showing much life on the second night of a back-to-back. Anthony, who had surgery on his left knee last February, said after Saturday’s loss it was just “general soreness” and not related to his torn patellar tendon.

“Nothing to be worried about. Not really too concerned about it,’’ said Anthony, whose milestone of passing Gary Payton for 30th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list went completely overshadowed by the defeat.

Knicks coach Derek Fisher seemed unalarmed and admitted he might have had Anthony sit anyway because his team trailed by 21 points after three quarters. Fisher was uncharacteristically direct after getting thumped for a second straight night, wondering if the Knicks have been reading too many press clippings.

“I don’t know if he would have come back in the game without the sore knee,’’ Fisher said. “We just weren’t playing with enough energy. We looked completely worn down and worn out. … I think we are feeling the impact of a little bit of success and how much more it requires to go beyond this next barrier, beyond a .500 team.’’

It was a long week for the Knicks: two overtime games and a back-to-back that included the club flying through Winter Storm Jonas after getting wiped out by 28 points by the Clippers on Friday. The Knicks didn’t get to their hotel until 3:15 a.m. Saturday. They looked uninspired and now they are stuck overnight in Charlotte because of the blizzard.

“We just weren’t there tonight,’’ Anthony said. “Similar game to what we had [Friday] night. This league is up and down. Right now we got to right this ship.’’

Anthony finished with nine points, taking just 11 shots, making four and playing passively. He was a minus-14 and it probably didn’t sit well watching Lin’s star rise.

“I was feeling it physically at shootaround Friday and felt it before the game — certain things I normally would be able to do, I wasn’t able to do,’’ Anthony said.

The loss to the depleted Hornets dropped the Knicks to 22-24 and showed how valuable Lance Thomas has become. Thomas has missed three straight games with a sprained left knee and the club’s spirit and energy has suffered in each one. Thomas has become a legitimate “3 and D’’ guy.

“He’s very important for our team,’’ said Kristaps Porzingis, who was relatively quiet with 13 points, four rebounds and three blocks. “Defensively, maybe that’s what we miss: the energy he brings every game. You see how important he is for us.’’

The Knicks were facing a battered Charlotte squad missing Al Jefferson, Cody Zeller, Nicolas Batum and Jeremy Lamb. Perhaps the Knicks went overboard in not letting Thomas play.

Thomas had a strenuous workout 90 minutes before tip-off, indicating he was ready. Fisher said before the game he thought it likely Thomas would play, but the medical staff nixed it.

“I went through a full workout before the game,’’ Thomas said. “I felt really good. I was real happy where I was at. It was just little tender. It’s always the training staff’s call. They’re the ones protecting us. The way I felt, I felt I would be able to play tonight but they wanted to give me as much rest as possible so I can play a full game [Tuesday] instead of playing limited minutes.’’

Anthony and Thomas should be ready by Tuesday to face the Thunder, but Fisher was very clipped when asked specifically why Thomas didn’t suit up.

After a slow start, New York product Kemba Walker lit up in the second half to score 26 points for the Hornets. Meanwhile, the Knicks had a no-show performance from Arron Afflalo, who scored 10 points, not hitting his first field goal until late in the third quarter.

“Maybe it’s more mentally than physically,’’ Porzingis said.

  • John Focker

Minor injury big rest, may be on the trading block. Not main trade target but may be packaged with someone else.

  • At 1:55, do you see Kemba kind of giving Lin the signal to drive? haha, maybe this is one of those things where we just won’t be able to tell. He’s also shaking his head too.

So he’s saying Lin is no longer a starter and he has no intention of starting him unless they are shorthanded
anyhow, his role right now is pretty simillar to what he had in Hou, 2nd season whcih was his best season imo
except they dont feature Lin in offense as much

    They are all freaks
Lin has very good work ethic, kobe did too now hes so lazy

Harden would be in a strip club by the time Lin started post game work out

    Highlights from Jun 🙂

  • LAJane

That was SO DELIBERATE. You can see Carmelo start at his waist and accelerate that uppercut right into Jeremy’s chin…and he looks very happy about it afterwards. That kind of childish behavior isn’t going to stop the guy who used to bang his own head on the wall as kid.

Took a look at acbc’s recommendation of the bballbreakdown of Curry and Redick’s recent shooting. Includes a clip of LeBron James guarding Curry off-ball and just blatantly grabbling him and shoving him to the floor. Infuriating how “stars” are not disciplined for blatant fouls. In this case, Curry gets even with a very satisfying play that sends LeBron tripping over himself and ending on his backside on the floor AND Curry gets the shot. Seldom get such nice payback.

Also, thanks acbc for the view because it made very clear to this green student how much well organized and willingly executed screening Curry gets. ALL the shots discussed showed Curry capitalizing in wide open spaces…something Jeremy NEVER gets.

  • Dan Ang

C’mon man. You just couldn’t resist could you? smh lol

  • Rick Johnson

    Wish they could both lose.

  • sws94

“Don’t you hurt Lin now, don’t be hurtin’ Lin”. Did you hear that after the Anthony uncalled flagrant?

  • I think something good happened in the last 2 games.
For some reason, the Hornets started to play team-ball in order to win.

And after coming back from 19pts to get an unlikely win with teamball, the Hornets started to believe passing the ball around can bring them a lot of wins. I didn’t get a chance to watch the game but from the highlights it looked like most Hornets players were ready to kick out the ball to open shooters. If not mistaken, this was the 1st time Kemba drove inside but chose to kick out the ball for an open JLin who drained the 3.

This is good, really good! If this continues, it means that JLin’s persistence to keep passing the ball around although he can make some shots himself will be paying off. He congratulated Hawes, Kemba and Roberts with genuine joy even when he didn’t close out the Magic win. And his teammates knew it was the real stuff and not fabricated to show off the “good guy” persona.

I gave the benefit of the doubt that Kemba was not a selfish diva, freezing out Lin like Harden and Kobe did, because he seemed comfortable joking around in Lin videos. Many times, consistent little things can reveal a lot. Perhaps he simply had tunnel vision since he’s not a good passer and he thought he had to carry the team with his exceptional scoring skill in order to win.

I’m not making my mind yet but I’m willing to be open-minded. If Kemba continues to believe in team-ball and pass the ball around, the others will follow and the Wins will keep coming. The Hornets are at #13 in the Eastern Conference standing and only 2 games behind from 5th-8th place because other Eastern teams started to flounder lately.

If the Hornets can finally play team-ball, it is a testament of JLin’s stubbornness to play the right way with team-ball to get his teammates to believe although his personal stats took many hits.

JLin and Hornets need to Win since they can help each other. Deep playoff run would only help to increase JLin’s market value.
So let’s go, JLin! Let’s go, Hornets!

  • yup, 4:07 as Lin grimaced in pain post-hit going behind the rim

Fans knew how hard Lin played and appreciated his effort. He did the same in Phoenix to bend down after his knee got hit. Lin’s pain tolerance must be off-the-chart to shake off hits like that.

  • John Focker

Jeremy’s made of class, humility, intelligence, talent and perseverance. A collection of virtues if you will.

…which speaks volumes about the people who hate him.

  • sws94

That was horrible. What’s wrong with Anthony? He could have broken Lin’s jaw. And that’s not even a flagrant 1? That’s close to a flagrant 2.

Glad to see hear the Charlotte fan say that.

  • John Focker

I think the strategy is to appease the home crowd with Lin’s teamball, and showcase Kemba on the road. The trade theory seems to hold water. The Jazz game will be interesting to watch as Hornets have been interested in Hayward since 2014, and MJ himself flew to Salt Lake City when they allow 30+ FGA from Walker.

  • yeah, jealousy, insecurity, ego simply dominate Melo’s, Harden’s, Kobe’s personality

It’s really sad but they don’t realize the opposite is will make people like and welcome them.

  • John Focker

Some people still consider him a GREAT player. I see him as a volume shooting bully.

  • Melo probably wanted to play tough and “send the message” which didn’t work.

His reaction afterwards betrayed his tough guy attempt.

  • John Focker

One can be jealous, insecure and have a big ego without resorting to thuggish behavior. Thuggish is what thuggish does.

  • Spot

LinMad, don’t forget to donate on Jlinfoundation!!! =)

  • Kemba being showcased scenario can gain more traction if the Hornets start winning streak.

I’m hard-pressed to think of teams who would pursue Kemba because they all know he’s a super undersized SG for $12M/year. Perhaps such teams exist out there but yet again he’s with Jordan brand.

idk … I’m just glad Lin’s capitalizing at his chance to be a starter to have the ball in his hands.
If Lin and Kemba will get to be the ball-handler and dominate, it’ll be good since Clifford would think of relying on Lin to get more Ws even when Batum and MKG come back.

These stretch of games when Lin starts to replace Batum will be extremely important on how Lin will be used in the 2nd half, I think.

  • John Focker

Kemba’s fool’s gold and many teams know it, which is why Hornets work so hard to have him stat-pad. If he’s not traded by deadline then it means no one got duped, rather than lack of intent on Hornets’ part.

Kemba’s already lost the team, particularly the “hurt-toe” brothers Batum and Lamb. Lamb was starting to break out with Lin on the BF1 (which led to decent contract), but was frequently iced by Kemba/Batum when split from Lin (LL Cool J stealing thunder, 23+ and 22+ PER respectively).

In the last few games it’s quite obvious that bench’s extremely selfish when Kemba has the reins, perhaps as retaliation of Kemba being unaccountable on D but having unlimited FGAs. But when Jeremy has rare chance to run the offense, everyone moves more willingly with or without the ball.

  • KHuang

That’s because Rodman routinely showed up late to shootarounds and always loafed around in pregame.

Had Rodman been more serious about becoming a complete player, he’d have practiced hard with the rest of the team before games. Rodman would then not have been able to work out and party after games.

When Rodman played, he routinely disappeared during the day. Often he skipped practices and workouts. Rodman was usually sleeping off his late night partying while the rest of his teammates trained together. Rodman saved his workouts for the evenings before going out to party. Overall Rodman did MUCH LESS WORK than the average NBA player.

Lin works much harder before, during, and after games than Rodman ever did.

The only reason the Hornets are playing teamball is because the players are starting to realize that Jeremy Lin will pass to them but Kemba Walker will not.

    The Knicks are not quitters.

    They simply got LINSANITIZED.

  • KHuang

    all kids OWN Jeremy Lin.

being owned by kids is the sign of a REAL MAN.

  • KHuang

It is not common, especially for any player that practices and plays as hard as Lin does.

The only guys I can think of who played and practiced just as hard as Lin before, during, and after games were John Stockton and Karl Malone.

From what I’ve seen, Lin is at the same level as John Stockton in physical conditioning and raw athletic toughness.

Stockton was an INCREDIBLE athlete who never got injured, never got sick, took tons of hard hits, and never took a play off. Lin is of the same exact athletic makeup, only Lin’s much taller and heavier than Stockton was. The size allows Lin to do many physical things that Stockton could never do (i.e. Lin now playing backup SF and holding his own on defense and the boards).

  • Sueki

that pass at the 2:28 mark of the hightlight video by Lin to Hansborough to ridiculous…The fact that Lin trusted Hansborough to be aware enough to get to the tight area to get that pass is impressive….Very dangerous pass to.

Hansborough is no doubt the pass PnR parner for Lin…His screens are very strong and he rolls hard…Unfortunately, he’s not athletic enough to fnish those passes.

An article on the NBA site [link] says: “All-Star Game reserves will be revealed live on TNT on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. ET.” That means that Kemba only has two more games in which to make a case with volume shooting that he should be selected. The article describes the selection process: “The NBA’s 30 head coaches will select the reserves for the 2016 All-Star Game. They must vote for seven players within their conference: two guards, three frontcourt players and two additional players at either position. Coaches are not permitted to vote for players on their own team.”

I don’t think I would be a fan of LeBron James again after he literally got his coach fired. There is nothing wrong with his coach Blatt. It’s everything wrong with LeBron and his agent. Team ball would prevail but not without the coach. LeBron chose his coach. Gosh, you’re supposed to play for the coach and if the coach failed, the owner would hold him responsible but the firing of Blatt is not the case.

I have lost all my respect of LeBron James as a basketball player and his work ethics. I don’t believe he would ever win a championship again. Not when GSW and Curry, the true MVP is reigning. Mind you Curry is much younger than LeBron. It’s all over for LeBron and his agent. Players may jump on his bandwagon but owners are going to be alarmed. I would rather give up my franchise player than let him run the club.

  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

I have lost all my respect for him. He has done something that he couldn’t admit. That must be gravely wrong. Who has been opposing the coach all the time? LeBron, you are a player! Do what the coach say or else you should be responsible for everything thereafter. No point to deny the obvious.

  • Brewkowski

Porzingas looked average. Fisher had Affalo posting up Lin early in the game to take advantage of his size, to no avail. Melo is a shell of his former self, bad knee or not.

I thought NYK would be a more competitive but Lin’s penetration got Porz into foul trouble and got outside shooters stroking the open looks Breaking down the defense and neutralizing twin towers.

Nice job by Lin and team.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Black players only want black coaches but even Doc Rivers is rooting for Blatt. What LeBron has done is unforgivable. Any basketball fan knows what’s happening if they have been watching NBA basketball. I therein announce the end of LeBron James era. No NBA basketball coach wants to coach him. Just ask Doc, Carlisle etc.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Beverley’s forked tongue against ex-Rockets. One of those days he would be traded away by the Rockets and got waived.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

What had happened to his nose?
    Was the ref blind?

  • Phoenix Rising

Nice post! If Kemba starts playing team ball, i think he can be a top 30 player in this league. This team will easily get a 4-5 seed by the end of the season. How do we get him to play more team ball, because this month he has not shown the best example of it?…

  • Phoenix Rising

Absolutely! Great comparison of body types (and maybe mindsets!)

  • wu kong

Great southern accent. That women probably would storm the floor and take out Melo of need be. We southern women are protective

  • Spot

    Good observation 😀

  • Phoenix Rising

Just to clarify, Kemba has made more passes than he usually does in the last two games, but you can’t call it team ball.

  • KHuang

If Hansbrough played 20 mpg, his conditioning would come back and he’d be the over the rim Barkley type player that smashed up the NBA 5 years ago.

  • heart

Hans was the leading scorer in college. He has not been used properly in this NBA league. W/ only two available Center left, Hans and Hawes, hope Hans will get more PT time. I’ve seen him do these things well: rebounding, making FTs & 3s, setting proper screens, catching & dunking. Most importantly, he knows how to play PnR.

  • Brewkowski

Yeah, didn’t quite get his point.

  • grover chang

Even if he does not always finish, at least he makes good screens and rolls. This breaks defenses down more for Lin to score or pass to an open shooter. Tyler also did a nice job passing to the open shooter after rolling.

I need more PNR with Lin and Tyler. Those two should be the cornerstones of the team. Everyone else on the team would be lifted up on their PNR. No PnR No wins in today’s NBA.

  • Brent Yen

I think he just needs more time to get used to it

  • guest

Melo is a quitter and also a bully. Some bullies like Melo, Kobe and LBJ are blatant in their bullying. Some are doing it behind the back which is probably worse and equal to back stabbing. They are all so familiar in our lives and on JLin fansites.

  • KHuang

Porzingis is pretty good, but he is not the SUPERSTAR that the NY media is touting as the ultimate nonAsian replacement of Linsanity.

    NOTHING can replace Linsanity.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s a miracle that Hornets won because the KNicks simply shot poorly. Kemba took 25 shots shooting @28% scored only 26. The bench only scored 19 points. Marvin Williams and Hawes didn’t shoot well scoring 4 and 2 respectively shooting at poor %. It should be enough to lose.

But Hairston and Jeremy didn’t let that happen. Hairston got his career high and perhaps his first double double. Lin has had fun passing to him too. Jeremy shooting @41% and 40% at 3P.

    Still Hornets won easily.

  • KHuang

Slowly but surely, PJ Hairston is learning from Linstructor how be a productive NBA player.

  • KHuang

Lin and Hansbrough would be THE BEST pick and roll combo in the entire NBA if allowed to play 30 mpg.

  • KHuang

Easy to “get” Walker to play more teamball.

Lin’s nonWalker nonBatum guys are starting to realize that Lin is looking out for them.

I’ve been saying for the last month that once Lin’s teammates fully understand that they can get better stats by feeding Lin, the overall teamwork will improve.

  • Brewkowski

I agree. I like Porz’s toughness and potential to be great. NY media is desperate to move on and remove lingering memory of Linsanity.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin passed the ball to him when he had the good look. Hairston shot @50% got 10 Rebounds.

  • wu kong

So I have a theory on what the final form for the hair will be. Joe ( JLins little bro ) just posted this on his Instagram https://instagram.com/p/BA7NmXEw36S/.

So my theory is maybe this maritime character hair. Long flowing pony tail in back. Haha. If that is the case we have a long time to wait for the final form.

Read comments. Jlin comments about someone picking on Joe. I think it is actually someone they all know. Seems all in jest.

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin is better than half of the starting point guards in the league but he isn’t allowed to play that position

  • your son’s voltaire

the all-stars game is a showcase of the league’s most prolific volume shooters

  • Whitman Lam

Coaches are probably going to select Isiah Thomas, since the Celtics have a better record thanks to their coaching. Would like to see Lin get a reserve All Star spot, but he needs the rest and time to practice.

  • Whitman Lam

Hansbrough picks up fouls too easily. Especially when trying to protect the paint on drives, he’s a foul machine. Hawes at least knows how to contest shots at the rim without fouling.

  • heart

I really believe Hans hasn’t been used properly nor giving PT in regular rotation to get himself into rhythm. It’s also Refs’ subtle biases against a bench player w/a reputation that has been ‘unfairly’ labeled on him.

  • Basil

I think the main reason they are playing teamball is injuries. It’s true that Jeremy leads by example in this regard, and has all season (and his whole career really). But when injured players return, especially Batum and MKG, =, there is likely to be a re-adjustment period. Ideally, they won’t disrupt this teamball trend, but there’s bound to be a re-adjustment period.

  • adele

True. Lin has been in foul trouble also because of phantom fouls.

  • Phoenix Rising

    *fingers crossed

I doubt they would be trading Kemba, and as someone stated below, I’m not sure Kemba trade value is super high as some may believe because he’s not really a PG that makes his teammates better and he would be super under-size to play SG.

If a team trade for Kemba, they’d have to team Kemba with a tall PG that can guard opposite taller SG while still allowing Kemba to guard opposition team PG..

Also, Utah have enough guards..They have Exum who is currently hurt and they are still high on Bulke who is young.

I myself, wouldn’t trade Hayward for Kemba…although that’d be a good deal for Charlotte..move Lin to PG and put Hayward at the 3 or 2 with Batum.

  • tom

    Except Kemba

  • tom

Rodman was unique but he aint a HOFer

  • tom

Daniels can make 3’s but Lamb is still leagues better than him
more athleticism and length and a much better scorer

  • tom

If you can look average in your rookie year, thats really good lol especially if you are a euro

  • Acbc

So glad you had a chance to see what other teams do for their own players. It frustrates me to hear fans criticize Lin for not taking bad shots just because he has a 50/50 chance to get it off. Spurs will work the ball around until they can get the best shot possible. When coach Nick says that Curry or Reddick had a practice shot, he means that it was very high percentage. Lin probably is now shooting 65-75% 3s in practice. That’s a practice shot! It basically means no pressure what so ever. That’s the kind of shot all good teams want to create.

  • Briiick

Lin is a top 5 PG in today’s league, possibly even better.

  • Acbc

I remember when Tiger Woods in his prime would shoot a 66 and be unhappy with a couple of shots and proceed to practice 3-4 hours after his round. That’s what great athetes do. They never focus on what they’ve done well, they focus only on the things that they need to do better. That’s why Lin is never happy with his game. He believes that he can always do better.

Lin needs to get in those 10,000 hours of shooting to be automatic. All Lin fans must learn to trust him as he keeps working like a man possessed.

  • Lefon Jang

I’m glad to see Lin had a few midrange shots last night. This is a shot that most NBA players are shying away in favour of the 3’s. Teams are mostly geared toward defending the paint and the 3’s in the modern NBA. With Lin’s quick first step he can easily get into the midrange and pop that shot before helps come over. I’m very impressed with Lin’s versatility this year. Perhaps not playing the point is a blessing in disguise. Everyone knows Lin is a good PG but now we know he can also be effective in other positions. That to me would make him indispensable. With a consistent midrange jump shot he’d be deadly.

  • grover chang

Lin bested walker in match ups before he joined the hornets.

you know, I will focus on what my teams allow me to do now too because what you say makes sense: develop the versatility for other things to come.

    Thanks!

  • JoeTeam

He does have indie ability, but he freelances too much and ends up doing a mini set of mistakes like KW does that are really just TOVs. In a bball game that ends with a 3pt spread, that causes a lot of losses. It’s not the physical mistakes fans and team management cannot take, it’s the decision mistakes as those cause teams to win or lose at the FT line. GSW this year rarely has to win on FTs. To me, while that’s pretty much a given if a good shooter is fouled, the odds are far less in winning than through just a big lead.

I imagine Cliffy can’t afford to develop JLamb because the variable with Batum and KW are too big and he’s barely coping, losing ground as we all can see with the sub 500 record. That in the end is how Cliff is judged by the boss, and that is where he will be replaced some time.

  • KHuang

The way the Hornets offense is, Lin is kinda forced to create in the midrange.

The bigs set high screens, Princeton style, at the top of the key. That also draws big man defenders to perimeter.

Because Lin is a wing and not a point, Lin dribble attacks from the sides. He usually finds himself in the midrange because opponents run him off the 3 point line.

  • JoeTeam

And Lin’s floater early tested neutralization of Porz and that was a good thing to keep Porz on his toes … always nice to set a tone early so one can have options later. Just generally from highlights, as I didn’t get a chance to watch the game.

  • JoeTeam

    you said it. L!!!

Psalm: In some situations, it’s pretty safe to make up your mind and change it. Sometimes, that is the best way to develop conviction. I’d be interested to read where your positive thoughts take is if you take a provisional conclusion on KW.

  • Rick Johnson

Anybody know what his avatar in DOTA2 looks like? Maybe that would be a clue.

  • LinMad

what I like about Tyler is that he comes for the ball. He meets the PG half way. He sets proper screens. For Hawes, Lin or Kemba can throw the ball at him and if it’s a little off, Hawes doesn’t move his legs at all to try to get it. He just try to reach for it with his arms, but legs are locked. Everything he does as a big looks half-a**ed. His screens are not set, it still moves. He runs back too soon before it is set. He’s slow when rolling to the rim. He can’t catch balls like Tyler.

  • JoeTeam

    Comments on the highlights:

    1. it’s great to see 10 mins, as that means JLin was v active in over 20% of the minutes. Add in the unmade assists and non-hightlighted D where he made some early funneling play, etc if there were many (I missed the game).

    2. amazing the number of D around JLin when he has some room to initiate a threat. [JLin only initiates a thread when it’s in the ‘right way to play’ game flow, and that’s why lots of people think he’s being passive.] So many good open looks, and I would guess the Ast line is less than what he generated, pls let me know. I guess that is happening with KW too, but KW doesn’t give it up wisely a lot of the times, opting for a brick. That’s mental and coachable.

    3. JLin on the FT line, after Melo elbowed his temple: yawning his mouth to get over the hit. Hmm … a temple hit is one of risky ones for brain injury (Natasha Richardson, Liam Neeson’s wife and an acting force in her own right). This one looked like on the upper jaw through … still. Not saying Melo’s intent … didn’t look like he approached Lin to apologize, but we don’t have the full vid.

    4. Good to see JLin do it to the Fish again, given how Fish didn’t give him the MetaWP props during the day. Ok, ok, I’m being petty sorry lol.

    5. on one play late, JLin had a high pass to Hawes that he instead took a layup foul on. Given lack of sure hands strong finishes, he didn’t do that though those are safer (more sure scores, less chance to get hit to the ground with a bad injury). He needed Tyson Chandler there. If you watch GSW, you see a LOT of this high late lobs as an option to Bogut or Iggy, etc from people like DGreen. That speaks to the lack of a bigs with hands, that psalm and others post.

  • JoeTeam

so easy to move a little to keep the defender from having a shot.

Anybody know what Lin is planning to do for the All Star Break? Vacationing with Family? Going back to California to work on his shot with Scheppler? Visiting brother in Taiwan? Are the Futon Braves still playing at time of All Star Break?

  • KHuang

Hawes only played one year of college.

He’s lacking a ton of fundamentals that Hansbrough mastered over 4 years of utter recordbreaking NCAA dominance.

I don’t think Clifford is being fair to Lamb.

Smith might have thrown a tantrum in the locker room, demanding to be traded ONLY to Houston Rockets. NBA teams have this thing where they will cater to their star players wishes, or else they look bad to other big name free agents. Of course, Rox never treated Lin this way, they tried to trade him to anywhere.

  • CJSHYY

    So dumb. smh!

  • It’s good to see Kemba communicated to Lin to attack.
Lin was watching Porzingis but once he made move to the right, Lin knew he had an open lane.

Was Lin always not assertive? Maybe sometimes because he tends to want to involve his teammates first, he can overthink things. It has plus and minuses.

Personally, I believe you’re a Lin fan based on a long history of posting.
When Lin was not playing well, some Lin fans can be sensitive to some real instigators who come out to troll.
I believe we can provide constructive criticism when Lin doesn’t play well but also wish him to play better next game.
Every player can have an off night in the NBA. That’s quite normal.

  • Very nice dissection to conclude if people believe Melo’s foul to upper-cut Lin wasn’t intentional, they must be crazy 😀

The guy is very convincing to demonstrate that Melo’s uppercut is no way to ever block a shot.
Just a poor attempt to send a message to Lin not to drive again (or this NYK team is Melo’s team; not Linsanity’s as he said)

I don’t think NBA would fine Melo but perhaps with more exposure, refs would watch out for this type of flagrant fouls to try to hurt Lin, even from NBA stars.

BTW, regarding the video, that’s from Jlinnation, and I don’t agree with it, it is not Lin was hesitating, Lin was waiting for his screen to come up, and you see Hawes is coming up, that caused Porzingis to move up, Lin is smart enough to catch that moment and move away from the screen, and get the lane. Has nothing to do with what you said, Lin need a push, not assertive enough etc.

    General Forum Rules:
These rules apply to all Forum categories. Rules can change as needed.

We take the “Be Polite & Be Respectful” rule very seriously. We do not tolerate any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning.
No cursing/swearing or any substitute/variation. Keep the language to PG to be family-friendly.

You may not link, in any manner, to sites or images containing p*rnography, sexually explicit, gross violence, or are determined by moderators to be detrimental to the community.

Public posts debating these rules and/or moderators’ enforcement of such, will be removed without comment. We encourage feedback however and invite you to use our Suggestion Box Thread if you have any questions or concerns. (Example: “This forum is groupthink because the mods deleted my post”)

Do not antagonize or bait other users. Whether you are sincere in your beliefs or not, if your posts consist solely of trolling others, you will be banned. (Example: “Are you a 5-year old child?”)

Do not label other posters (Example: Lin-only fans, CF trolls, etc).

Do not attempt to moderate the board or other posters yourself. Flag their post and we will deal with it. You only need to report one post – we will automatically review ALL of the persons posts to assess the situation. (Example: “Get out of here, troll”)

No name calling. (Example: “McFail, KoME”)

No personal insults. (Example: “You are a clueless fan who obviously has never watched basketball.”)

No racial slurs of any kind

No religious discussion, religious mocking or religious jokes in the game threads. There are off topic threads for this.

What happens if I break a rule ?
Depending on the severity of the infraction, a different course of action may be taken, but the usual practice is as follows :

    Rule break (Minor offense) :
A PM may have been sent, no further action taken
    – your post may be edited/corrected/censored by a moderator or deleted.

For a more serious offense, a warning will be issued, this is a mark against your name letting us know you have broken a rule

    Rule break. (Major offense)
A PM warning, possible temporary ban, the length of which will depend on the severity of the incident – your post may be edited/corrected/censored by a moderator or deleted.

Continuous Rule breaking (Minor or Major)
After this it will be assumed you will not learn your lesson and are simple here to cause trouble so you will receive a permanent ban, meaning you will never be able to visit the forum again.

At anytime you may be banned temporarily or permanently and without warning this will be solely based on the moderators discretion.

yes, ask other true Lin fans, we do suffer when others criticize Lin unfairly when Lin has a bad game.

  • Uh-Oh

Hes very disrespect to other mods, such as a great one like Bluebell. Making Unknown rude and insult accuse of other mods here and there. Roll my eyes hard again when he tried to explain parent mod and child mod to psalm234. think himself knows the best it’s not convincing at all. (= ̄ ρ ̄=) ..zzZZ
Well, bye bye to him then.

  • your son’s voltaire

kobe passes the ball once in a while. must be a team player

  • Uh-Oh

Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. You should express your happiness and appreciation of getting this over there instead.

  • LAJane

Yup…totally agree with TTNN below. Lin was not waiting passively and was not motivated by Kemba (whatever he was saying we don’t know). If you watch this without the mindset of go!go!go! for the contested 3-point, you can see he’s letting Hawes draw Porzingis out and then turns on his famous afterburners to get to the basket. You seem to be overeager to label Jeremy passive, when what he’s doing is solid – and effective – basketball.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

This is my last warning to you for continuing insulting to mods. Please observe the site rules that @psalm234 has posted. If I see any subtle insulting any other posters or mods, I will ban you for good.

  • LAJane

and furthermore 🙂 …if Kemba was hollering at Lin to just shoot that contested 3, do you really think Lin is listening to Mr. 7 for 25? He always expresses happiness for Kemba’s successes, but if anybody is schooling anybody, it’s the other way around!

And lastly – rant, rant – this is exactly why many (most?) fans are not as expert as they think they are, because emotion skews perception. “Volume shooting” gives the illusion of aggression and excitement blinds the “eye test” to the true mechanics of plays. This is why in that Fung brothers video Jeremy commented that fans have very little way to know what’s really going on. As KHuang continually points out, if actual NBA players who didn’t finish college and get the benefit of real fundamental training have their troubles, then viewers who have no such experience whatsoever should be vigilant to watch smarter.

    End rant.

  • Acbc

I see that all the time and just can’t stand that elbow screen. It often starts too tight with too’many guys already packed into the paint waiting for Lin. There’s just no room for Lin to operate trapped by a sideline. Lin is always looking for an inside out pass and the short side corner has no room as an outlet and the weak side pass is often not there because they never move themselves into line of sight for a long pass.

  • Dorothy

Can someone retweet this to make it like 1M clicks? Only has 193 clicks when I watched it. Thanks.

    Thanks.

  • a bit late but here is the Knicks post-game thread
Linsanity Storm Struck the Knicks Again; Hornets Played TeamBall in Win

    http://www.jlinportal.com/linsanity-storm-struck-the-knicks-again-hornets-played-teamball-in-win/

Jeremy Lin provided Linsanity storm once again to led the Hornets to beat the Knicks 97-84 on 4 years after Knicks picked up Jeremy Lin in 2012.
    – JLin finished with 26pts/5asts/5rebs/1blk/5tos/3pfs and a game high +23 (7-17 FGM, 2-5 3FGM)
    – His 10-10 FT shooting is also his season high as the Knicks couldn’t stop his driving and kept fouling him.
    – Hairston also had an excellent game with a season high 20pts/10rebs
    – Kemba struggled early before also finishing with 26pts
    – This was the third time Lin has scored at least 20 against the Knicks since signing with the Rockets as a free agent

For some reason in the past 2 games, the Hornets started to play team-ball in order to win.

  • Acbc

Like I said, a 50/50 shot is just too low a percentage for good passing teams like GSW or Spurs. It’s only looks good to guys like KW or other volumn shooters.

  • John Focker

Give it up, your claim on innocence is like Hornets showcasing Kemba: No One’s Buying It.

One negative post? I still remember you going ape sh*t over Jeremy missing 2 FTs, and posted over half a dozen posts griping about it (and then a dozen more arguing with people). Now Jeremy makes 10-10 and not a word.

You sensationalize any and all things negative, and hardly ever praise. At least have the decency of being honest to yourself. If you come out and owned to your past bad and promise to behave, we’d all respect that.

But griping about people disliking your own misbehavior will get you nowhere.

  • It would be interesting to see a compilation that includes this and Kobe’s flagrant. It probably wouldn’t hurt to add the one where the Clippers guy kicked Lin while he was on the floor (when Lin was a Rocket), as well as Jason Kidd’s grabbing Lin’s hair. NBA stars (Kobe, Melo, Kidd) seem to just not be able to keep their hands off Lin. My suggestion would that only the very worst fouls be included, not baby ones or unclear ones, since that hurts the case.

  • JoeTeam

Ha ha, Lamb does play better than his time allows … not sure why. Maybe he can replace KW, that would improve the team … JLin PG. Shift right everywhere else.

  • LAJane

Well…um…isn’t the visual communication with Hawes in drawing out Porzingis and then driving in for a made basket…um…running the offense? Yes it is, but I do believe Kemba tends to be a ball-watcher rather than a natural court-vision guy, so I don’t believe he was particularly aware of Hawes coming up. Don’t know exactly what he was saying and what his arm gesture meant, but imho he probably was thinking Lin should do what he would have done…take the chance. Lin, however hates wasted effort. He wants the most bang for his buck and has the discipline to invest rather than day-trade. Though sometimes he invests in “circus shots”. Cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake 🙂

  • Acbc

I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds this guy that way. I try to just fold any of his comments and move on. Just not worth reading any garbage.

  • John Focker

Sigh…he’s far from being the only one. There are at least 2-3 more closet haters lurking around.

  • martan267

Thanks for calling him out. He was called out earlier by other veteran folks on this site. But he’s now back to acting innocent like you mentioned.

  • martan267

Thanks for calling him out. He’s been doing that constant criticism of Jeremy in almost every post. I’ve figured out he’s really not a Lin fan despite the name he’s using.

  • Epie

Hi troll, welcome back. You make legit posts here and there when mods are following your threads carefully, but many of us know your main goal here is to troll the fans. You think you are so smart by kissing up some mods, but some of us know why you are here for. Very surprised you haven’t been banned, even after making fun of some mods, calling them names, plus breaking posted rules. See you around troll.

  • sometimes it’s hard to have a certainty with the absence of information.
As fans, we can only look at the available information, how people interact, and consistency of their behaviors.

Hopefully things will look up more at least this year for JLin at the Hornets.

  • well said.. that’s the secret of continuous improvement
one of these days I need to have more time to develop my golf game =)

  • JoeTeam

I guess what i’m saying is sometimes one doesn’t need certainty. Go with the Force, Luke.

  • adele

Thank you. Hope this guy will be exposed more and more. I don’t understand why his kind is allowed here.

  • adele

Yes. Very deceiving. He change colors pretty easy. His kind is more deadly than clear haters.

  • Epie

Yeah, why don’t you make your comments public so everyone can see your past posts? I was going to do the work for you by copying and paste, but obviously, you have something to hide.
