G43 CHA @ORL Game Thread

With Batum, Zeller and Lamb out, Jeremy Lin and Hawes will start the game against Orlando Magic

  • It remains to be seen if the Hornets big men will provide inside presence with rebounding and finishing strongly
  • Will all players play defense to spur their offense? Or will they resort to Kemba hero-ball which has led to multiple defensive lapses?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that gets to be 100% healthy soon and will have a chance to be the playmaker to help the Hornets to win

    1st 🙂

  • Yascar

First? I hope JLin plays well! ??

  • Yascar

    What?! Noooo! ?

  • DX

    2nd!

  • Linzen

    Go Lin go! ✌

  • John Focker

    You’re still the first non-Mod.

  • sport

I hope Lin can break 20+ points tomorrow. I’ll continue to just wait for highlights not worth it to waste 2 hours just to watch them hype up Walker and allow him to chuck the games away. 76ers are doing great ever since MDA was hired, if only Lin and MDA can reunite sooner.

  • LinMad

i want that to happen but would Lin get to start at PG?

  • leeda harun

Wishing all the best to my one and only favourite player in the NBA.Lets go Jlin..

  • Yascar

Lol who’s the turnover machine again? I’m in such a nasty mood today.

  • Yascar

    I’ll take that!

  • donsmacau

Yes, nobody on an MDA team starts at PG over JLIN.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • james brown

    will klutch shout it out???LOL!

  • John Focker

During the two years that Harden and Lin played together, the TO number are [Harden: 3.8 and 3.6] vs [Lin: 2.9 and 2.5]. This goes to show how ridiculous and toxic Rox propaganda machine and hateful fans weres, completely ignoring numbers and saying the exact opposite of the cold, hard truth.

In the last two years after Lin departed, Harden averaged 4.0 TOs per game last season, and a wooping 4.7 TOs this season.

  • Joe what do you know

LMAO…. Walker abd Batum nowhere to be seen despite the full on effort of Hornets PR machine to have them voted in…. This is sad….

  • guest

Can anyone find Lin only Highlights vs Hawk’s 12/17/15 where he scored 35 points?

  • guest

    I mean raptors.

  • guest
  • guest

I want to see 35 pts again, while Batum and Lamb is out.

  • John Focker

Au contraire, this is GREAT!!! This means that fans are NOT fooled by “volume shooting” and coddled fake stars manufactured to push team’s agenda.

  • Barry Allen

I wish there was a flop stat. Harden would be the leader in that too.

  • KHuang

I’m cautiously optimistic about this game.

While I am expecting Clifford to INCREASE Kemba Walker’s selfish losing isoball, simply removing the equally selfish Batum will dramatically loosen up the court for the starters.

But more importantly, Tank and Psycho will be playing serious minutes together for the first time since preseason. These two brutes are very complementary because Tank is primarily a perimeter bomber while Psycho is an inside wrecking ball.

I would like to see Lin get some PG minutes with Tank and Psycho. Clifford needs to be careful playing these three beasts together if he’s to kiss the feet of Walker and Batum.

  • John Focker

More like Flopper Supreme, in the same league as BS being the Tanker Supreme.

  • kauaiblue

They r both boring as heck to watch… no one gonna vote for them…

  • kauaiblue

    Lol… i will despise rox…

  • Rick Johnson

I’m afraid if Lamb is out then Lin will play SG first with Walker at PG, then next to Roberts as PG with the bench. It will diminish what Lin could do with Kaminsky and Hansbrough. Cliff does the same things over and over even when they hadn’t worked in the past.

  • JoeTeam

I like this scouting report. I hope you are right and JLin will feast at the assist line until he can turn it on himself, all in the 10 minutes he will get with the ball.

  • JoeTeam

maybe that increase comes from building a backcourt partner who is no better than a serf. Glad JLin never accepted that role, instead being pushed off to start his ‘running the second unit’ career and also, from time to time, winning key games when CP and JH were out.

  • John Focker

I hope you’re wrong but we’ve seen lots of Roberts PG lately. One theory, following the Kemba trade route, claims that they’re testing/developing Roberts as backup PG so that we can lead the bench once Lin fills in for departed Kemba. Wishful thinking for sure, but it’d be great if true.

I’m with the theory that F/O does want to get rid of Kemba, but can’t find a team foolish enough to take him. And Kemba himself knows perfectly well that no other team will coddle him any better than Hornets did, so his 52pts was in part to taunt the F/O with the subsequent fan support after “superb” performance.

  • blubell
  • Rick Johnson

I’d like to be wrong but this is the pattern I’ve seen. Lamb out, Lin fills in at SG for bench. Batum out Lin fill in as SG for starters.

  • rookie75094

Let’s go Jlin…. spank the Orlando mickeys.

  • JoeTeam

“Let’s go Lin! I’m going with your start in my fantasy league, betting on a monster day without the need to worry about feeding Cody’s soft hops and Batum eating up shots! The only thing that can go wrong now is KW takes over ha ha.”

  • TTNN

If Lamb is out, you will see Roberts play PG and Lin play SG again.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    That’s so messup

  • Rick Johnson

Let’s hope Lamb plays. Listed as questionable.

I’m looking for a breakout game for Lin.

  • KL

I used to really hate on Hawes. But recently I am cutting him some slack because he tries to play teamball. Hopefully he and Lin can coax Frank to play teamball again. Then we will have fun.

As for Roberts, Lin and Hansbrough need to yell at him and beat up on him if he doesn’t play teamball.

  • JoeTeam

actually, it seemed that Roberts played better team ball with JLin during the bit of garbage time JLin had to endure vs OKC. Maybe it was my imagination because JLin fed him an assist. At least he ran off-ball.

  • KL

I think there is hope for Roberts. Not bothering with Kemba though.

  • John Focker

Nice piece on Lin’s value for the Hornets, in case it hasn’t already been posted.

Jeremy Lin’s Versatility is Paying Off for the Charlotte Hornets

“Jeremy Lin has shown just how valuable he is to the Charlotte Hornets this season by excelling in every role that the team has asked of him.”

Am I wrong or he was close to Jeremy?

  • donsmacau
  • donsmacau

All we need now is Bryan Colangelo to be hired as GM and MDA as Head Coach

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They will unless the owner wants to give up on the team.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    I couldn’t agree more.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    You mean vs Raptors.

  • Kwok Wai Lai
  • fatbob

im disappointed. I wanted to see lin stay in the west, maybe go to one of the better teams and use his full talent to play the best of the best almost every single night. Now hes on the hornets and the truth is this team stinks, only a few of the guys on the team have athleticism and talent like ed davis on the lakers. Hopefully when mkg comes back, things change for the better, but now how I see things, this team has too many problems. Either way, hornets are 100X better option than 76ers, who are worse defenders than even the hornets

  • donsmacau

Sixers are 5-7 since Jan 1, 2016 and have held teams to lower point totals than Hornets.

Hornets are 2-10 and lost to the SUNS who Sixers Beat — clearly Sixers on upward trajectory and Hornets DOWNWARD.

  • donsmacau

Never wish to see any player INJURED – this is their livelihood; but when I saw Kemba take a hard foul at OKC and him flat on his back I had spontaneous visions of Knicks point guard injuries that spawned chance for Linsanity.

Got me thinking of the Hornets injuries
    MKG
    JLIN
    Big Al
    Batum
    Lamb
    Cody

one guy NOT ever on list and ONLY player, who if injured, would finally OPEN THE EYES of Clifford and this backward Organization is Kemba.

Again, don’t wish injury on any player – It is what it is.

Jeremy Lin games with 10 or more assists (via basketball-reference.com) …

Knicks – 7 games out of 35 regular season games. [5 games during February alone.]

Rockets, Lakers, and Hornets – 15 games out of 267 regular season games.

In 21 of the 22 games with 10 or more assists he scored 10 or more points. [Avg. of 17 points per game.]

  • DX

Yes, I agree. Hawes is just low ability, but he did try. But he can’t PnR, that’s why he only shoot 3s.

  • Arsenium12 .

Ty Lawson games with 10 or more assists (via basketball-reference.com) …

Nuggets (2013-15 and 2014-15) — 61 games out of 137 regular season games.

Rockets (2015-16) — 1 game out of 37 regular season games.

  • CJSHYY
  • Dorothy

interesting… So, Morey feels he made a mistake off season?

  • CJSHYY

Of course they shouldn’t let Smith walked away…. Clippers is so dumb… Smith was the very important key to beat them in playoff last season. smh! Can send him to any team but Rox.

  • Rick Johnson

Needs a strong next season and team that uses him correctly as THE starting PG next year so we can get him in next year.

    https://twitter.com/Loveforlife0323/status/690579822049800192

  • Rick Johnson

Hopefully plays, otherwise Lin = SG, Roberts = PG.

  • Dorothy

I wonder whether Lin knows the NBA votes are rigged. No matter how hard we vote for him, he will not be in unless NBA allows him. SMH

  • rookie75094

The sinking sailboats are dumber than the hustun rockettes. ..that’s why…hehe

  • rookie75094

I don’t hate the clips as much as the rockettes. …but I hate them a bit more now that they are helping the rockettes
…it’s like paying the karate tution for the bully that beat you up everyday.smh.

  • CJSHYY

I don’t hate Clips but just don’t want Rox to becomes better….

  • NONONO

Got 0 out of 41 games in Hornets? Please, do not say Clifford is good for Lin.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

If Zeller is out, Tyler would be backup center. Very good chance we’ll see some PnR between him and Lin.

  • rookie75094

    Ok…maybe strongly dislike with a passion…hehe

  • NONONO

He could have got in if he played PG or starter for Hornets. He was bench player with limited minutes (until recently), few news or TV show, so he did not get much votes from China

  • TTNN

would be funny at playoff Josh kill Clipper again.

  • rookie75094

But I don’t even want to see the rockettes make the playoff

  • NONONO

i like it. it is better than paring with Hawes or Frank.

  • Rick Johnson

More likely if Lin plays PG. Less if Cliff has him at SG.

  • CJSHYY

Could be but I hope not… don’t want Rox to do well again this season.

  • NONONO

Hornets and fans love Frank. He has improved a lot. But I think he has caused more harm for the Hornets in recent games – keep shootings with few rebounds, VERY weak defense on 3s.

  • Rick Johnson

Anderson had a field day shooting 3’s on him vs New Orleans.

  • NONONO

Hornets big guys have very few blocks and rebounds. They do not set screens. They only focus shooting 3s. The coaching is insane.

  • DX

Actually, only Hawes shot 3s. Zeller, Tyler, Al are not good at 3. They are not good at PnR as well.

  • NONONO

Frank shooting more 3s these days, i think. Cody is good, but he is injured. Tyler got few mins play time, AL , nothing is good now.

  • Dorothy

No, those are not the reasons. The reason is NBA rigged the result.

  • DX

Yes, Cody should be the best. But he played very little with Lin, even together Lin played SG than PG. But all the bigs are weak at rim attack. Especially like Hawes, how many passes from Lin he didn’t make.

  • KHuang

When Lin’s running the defense from PG, Kaminsky is a VERY solid defender.

But when Walker’s getting utterly abused because he refuses to defend, it messes up Kaminsky who cannot guard two guys off pick and rolls.

  • NONONO

When All-stat vote is out of the way, as once he promised, would Clifford give more freedom for Lin to play his style? I think Clifford had been tried hard to promote Kemba and Batum for all-star and then completely destroyed Hornets’s winning momentum.

  • Rick Johnson

We hoped that was the situation with Harden, hoping he would stop stat padding after he made the All Star game. DIdn’t happen

  • grover chang

YEAAAHHH! I am so happy as a Rocket fan. I think Smith was a big lost. He had great chemistry with Howard and surprisingly had the best court vision on the whole team. He was very important to last years playoff run.

  • Linzen

Coach is not good. The other reason is the weak bigs.
    THEY ARE SO WEAK! sigh…

  • Linzen

I agree that this team lacks athleticism… and i’m not sure if MKG is talented offensively. Don’t get your hope too high.

Since both teams are losing a lot of games, I’d rather watch Jeremy playing PNR with the 76ers’ bigs, collecting 20 & 10 all day long…

    Intelligent level.

  • travis

look at the difference between lins interview and kembas

  • donsmacau

JLIN says: “Keys on the offensive end are making the extra pass and using ball movement to our advantage.”

Ironically, both those keys are the exact skills that Kemba doesn’t care about.

  • Epie

One of only few NBA players who can actually say something intelligent. How refreshing.

  • CaliUSMC

    David Blatt is gone. Crazy.

  • wandertheglobe

  • donsmacau

Lebron James flexes his power again.

  • CJSHYY

LBJ don’t like him so not surprised…..

  • wandertheglobe

Yeah. I don’t follow the Cavs so had no idea. Based on records alone, there’s no reason for Blatt to loose his job. LeBron runs the show. I’m wondering if Tyron will be LBJ’s puppet, like BS as Kobe’s lapdog.

  • CaliUSMC

Tyron was a puppet player .. and most likely a puppet coach.

  • wandertheglobe

Gotta give Riley credit for sticking with Spo during the first year when the Heat was faltering with the Big 3.

  • donsmacau

Diaw on Hornets SIMILARITIES to JLIN on Hornets

“Boris [Diaw] is the type of player, he needs a team around him that’s unselfish,” [Tony] Parker said. “You put him on a team where there is too much freelancing, Boris isn’t going to be as good.” The Spurs were sold, especially at the discount that accompanied Diaw as damaged goods [slanderous talk about Diaw by Hornets]. – via San Antonio Express-News

JLIN off to his dream starting PG job next season and hope it turns out as great for him as it was for Diaw leaving the Hornets.

  • CJSHYY
  • I am The Jason

Wow. Steve Kerr comes back and Cleveland give Blatt the boot.

  • JoeTeam

interesting and I like your conclusion on JLin’s future!

  • JoeTeam

hmmm, the visual I have on that is LeBron slamming Curry to the floor in the last game to start the tenor for Mozkov to dive on Curry’s knees and JR Smith to get ejected for body slamming Harrison Barnes. Not that I know if Blatt should be there or not, just that the intensity is really high in CLE right now and until they dial it down, choices will be a little iffy.

  • JoeTeam

And waning unless he gets himself at peace, just like JLin does every time. The younger players who are great will not hold still, LeBron has to be wiser.

  • JoeTeam

Would you say Kam has potential to be the real KLove?

  • zxcvb

Big mistake. Blatt is an excellent coach.

Whatever problems they have with elite teams are due to Kyrie/Love being one-way “stars.” Love at least passes and makes 3s, so I’d trade Kyrie for a solid two-way PG like Conley. Problem solved.

Blatt (a Princeton alum) is another coach I’d like Lin to play for. 1) MDA 2) Stevens 3) Blatt

  • JoeTeam

I watched ED play this past week and boy was he fun to watch compared to Cody, Kam, Hawes. A regular hop machine with hands.

  • donsmacau

Apart from not using JLIN in what he does best to help the team; for the most part the Hornets have treated JLIN with respect.

Boris Diaw on the other hand was thrown under the bus both on his lack of playing time and the awful things said about his skills and attitude by the Hornets when they thought the offloaded him as useless to the Spurs.

  • blubell

So players are in charge and running the team. What is the role of the FO? Blurred role/line…

  • donsmacau

Clifford the genius understands how this game works; but he only has half the puzzle until MKG gets back on court.

    – Hero on the offensive end is in place, Kemba.
    – But you still need the hero on the defensive end, MKG.

Once you have both pieces, then and only then is your heroball system fully and truly in place and we can start to WIN.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Thanks to Lin, otherwise I wouldn’t know who MKG was.

But anyway he’s taking back his starting spot from PJ.

  • CJSHYY

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I’ve always known the real reason PJ started was to keep MKG spot safe and warm….It would had been dangerous to start Lin or Lamb and have them doing very well with the team winning…in that case, it would have been difficult to implement MKG back into the starting 5.

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

I think Roberts will be back up PG.

  • Spot

Couldn’t be worse than PJ =)

I told you since game 1, when I watched the starters: this team is a mess and a coach is not good at all, despite having a pretty good roster.

  • Spot

And he’s not better as player too 🙂

Please God don’t let Jeremy Lin bust tonight.. Bless his heart

Alain, I’ve watched almost all of his previous games, I’m a big fan. He almost lost ball three times. It’s not his usual. That’s why I thought he was little off. Enjoy the game.

boring game. can Lin be the PG?

  • tom

Clifford has no respect for Lins offensive game
    Just stand in the corner

  • golfhacker

First 2 minutes of the game, Jeremy created space off the dribble in the paint and had no one around him. Instead of going up for a floater or short jumper, he stops and picks up his dribble and looks around to pass to someone. His teammates were all standing still because they all knew he had an open shot and expected him to shoot.

  • NONONO

    35 today. kemba has fun.

  • Mo Lin

    oladipo going off on lin

  • Alain Gervais

orlando has 11 assist to 1 tov. lmao we have 3 assist. Kemba has none of them

Hans gets some playing time and he already had 4pts in 3:38 minutes. Good for him. Just needs KW to sit for Lin to lead the 2nd unit as PG.

  • LinMad

Lin + Tyler can PnR better than the other bigs on this team.

  • NONONO

    Hans + Lin yes!!!

  • Pete Roces

Hornets heading to lottery, coach clueless as usual, so is KW, ISO as usual. zero defense as usual, coach has zero adjustment to game strategy, players playing wrong positions, etc etc….MJ and Cho, both stupid and ignorant. waste of time watching this clueless team play, off to do some other meaningful things.

  • sws94

That’s what I mean by Lin doesn’t have to play PG to facilitate. Just get touches.

  • LinMad

    good D by Lin

  • NONONO

true. the team pays the price

  • Alain Gervais

    Orlando scoring way too easy

  • Alain Gervais

Lin showing people how a pg plays

  • sws94

Bench’s offense is good but unfortunately the defense isn’t.

  • travis

Clifford is unbelievable let lin play point guard so he can penetrate and score

  • zxcvb

Lin not getting shots (no rhythm) or handling the ball. He’s only played PG for 3 plays — 2 assists and a missed dunk by Tyler. Terrible coaching.

  • travis

Roberts is just walking it up and passing so predictable

  • Epie

Oh well at least offense is looking better with more set plays. Come on!

  • Alain Gervais

    Genius move

  • Alain Gervais

    3 assist

  • Guest

Hornets are not used to getting assists from their PG since their hero always isoing not passing

  • sws94

Yes, Lin’s ankle is so-so. Sometimes it looks ok, sometimes it makes him lose balance and he sort of get trips up. His shooting is off so far, but that can change at any time.

  • travis

He’s a 6’3 of with decent handle how much can damage he do as a spot up shooter

  • heart

Who has been making assists, drawing defense, and playing as SG? Lin of course. Roberts is similar to KW, they don’t make plays. They want to score first.

  • zxcvb

Unwatchable Kemba/Roberts ball. Only Lin cares about setting up others.

Kemba played 12m and handled the ball for 20s every possession…ZERO assists. How is that even possible???

  • blubell
  • fatbob

is that steph curry playing on the magic??

  • Lin Win

  • travis

Wow I really miss Kemba when Roberts is playing point man

  • zxcvb

He doesn’t even play SG. He plays SF. Daniels plays SG.

  • wandertheglobe

Lin got bumped, no foul called. His handle seems shaky today.

  • LinMad

He’s the guy everyone steps on to get their stats up.

  • sws94

Lin has to compensate for his ankles and not try to do too much. He’s going to fall and lose the ball if he tries to do what his body can’t right now.

  • NONONO

    Did Clifford dislike Lin+Hands PnR????

  • zxcvb

His handle is never shaky. He just attacks a lot — you can call it unwise, but it’s not losing the handle. It’s getting bumped or stripped.

  • travis

I don’t understand Clifford lin leading in minutes but he refuses to give him the ball what the ??

  • tom

He needs to be careful with the ball

  • LinMad

Roberts shouldn’t even get time. Should be Lin at point.

  • travis

    Should be lin Daniels lamb

  • Solo

Its not the first time !!!

  • NONONO

it is possible. you can tell he is light on his foots

  • heart

Cliff calls time out at the most impromptu time and does not call time out when it’s urgently needed.

  • LinMad

for a coach that was mentored by MDA, the PnR heavy coach, this is absurd.

  • sport

Roberts at PG is dumb, Lin should be the one at PG with 2nd unit!

  • Linzen

Agreed! He got bumped. And, then he wanted to attack right away… too bad he lost the handle.

  • zxcvb

He called timeout to stop an easy Lin drive with a wide-open lane.

He’s totally clueless and flailing. He should be fired, not Blatt.

  • blubell

Just like Scott disliking Lin+Ed PnR?

  • sws94

Why all the complaining about PG or SG or whatever. Lin is getting touches and has chances to facilitate and he is. He’s obviously not in the best physical shape on his ankle. He’s fighting through it and trying to get in rhythm. How can he play PG with his handles like they are today. Let’s watch the game and see what is really going on and he’s struggling with his balance and handle so far.

  • zxcvb

He got zero good looks for his first 10m. He got the ball 30ft away, double-team came when he drove…never got the ball back. This is the NBA! You can’t just attack 1-on-5.

  • NONONO

Ed is top PnR in the leaque roll guy this year. B.S. is BS

  • Guest

It shows Clifford has no sense of the game flow..smh

  • sws94

He had the ball enough. He’s doing ok. He’s also electing not to move to the ball that much and it may be due to his ankle not feeling that great tonight.

  • zxcvb

No way. Not nearly enough. Esp. with Batum out.

He should touch it almost every possession, even if Kemba is the one shooting.

  • Lin Win

Our defense is so bad! Magic shooting 60%FG

  • Alain Gervais

Using hawes as a roll man won’t work

  • aras

    Lin looks off today

  • Lin Win

No one can protect the paint.

  • sport

Ed Davis made these Hornets C look like scrubs! Even Asik was a double double machine!

  • zxcvb

    Not touching the ball…no rhythm.

  • travis

Hansbrough and lin looked real good hopefully we get to see more of them together 2nd half

  • zxcvb

It’ll be more Kemba Ball. He wants his stats at any cost.

  • sws94

He has to move to get the ball. Look at Lin off-ball. He’s not moving around like Kemba, Lamb or other guys are doing. And when he gets the ball he’s been shaky with it. We can complain all we want but in actuality, Lin is having problems moving around tonight and handling the ball.

  • Lin Win

Lol at the guy answering the questions.
If i get all the question correct can i be on the kiss cam with you?

  • JoeTeam

no, he’s okay. He’s trying to break down the D and you notice some of his forays are getting 3 on him. Then out swing so no assists. They came back from10 down, and then KW takes an earlier than necessary long 3 in too much motion, and down again.

  • sport

Playing as SF, not PG :/ Might seriously turn it off, looks like another ugly game where Lin continues to be marginalized.

  • sws94

He’s off. Why can’t we ever admit he’s off.

  • fatbob

LOL, saw that too. Girl ducked that real fast

  • LinMad

was Lin on Payton? As soon as he sits, he makes a long 2

  • sws94

Lin’s out and I don’t disagree. He was struggling. Hope he has a better rhythm in the next half.

  • NONONO

Hans just showed his IQ on PnR with Lin today. But Clifford quickly stop them by bringing Kemba and Hawes in.

  • JoeTeam

Noticed how KW have a beautiful reverse that starts from his waist. Unfortunately, that go him hungry for more long bricks …

  • aras

yeah cant argue with that to be honest

  • Alain Gervais

    he got 18 minutes

  • JoeTeam

    because he’s not.

  • sws94

I think Lin doesn’t feel right tonight. He looked better in previous games.

  • John Focker

18 minutes of track and field time, none as PG.

  • sport

Lin needs to be PG or ball in hands to be in rhythm, playing as SG or in this case SF won’t get him anywhere! Can’t wait until Lin reunited with MDA the only coach who will use him as PG properly!

  • sws94

But as a starter, he usually finishes the half.

  • JoeTeam

how do you know how he feels?

  • LinMad

    KW should keep doing that

  • sport

Just going to wait for highlights, wanted to give it a chance but Lin’s position on this team just gets dimmer and dimmer. When MKG comes back it’s going to be worst.

  • sws94

I disagree. He doesn’t need that limitation and I’m frankly tired of hearing that Lin can’t be effective without MDA. He facilitated Hawes and Hansbrough just fine from the SG.

  • aras

i just think he is off…he needs to fix that…way too passive

  • Lin Win

Kemba looking great today. If he plays like this every game then he should be a SG instead of a PG.

  • sws94

How he feels physically. He doesn’t look as strong on his feet or as steady with his handling as he has in previous games. He was less compromised in those games.

  • sws94

He’s too passive I agree. I’m guessing it is something physical.

Kemba Walker is the only reason I’m still watching this garbage.

That and to see Frank continue to improve” You guys know why Kemba is enjoying iso

  • LinMad

This team has no fundamentals for easy buckets.

  • blubell
  • John Focker

Seriously, you should start a http://www.kwalkerportal.com.

  • travis

I like the way everyone is playing as a whole today except frank, he needs to look to swing the ball more and stop forcing shots and dribble

  • JoeTeam

ah ok, I just see it as early and he did ok in the comeback but then KW took over and now they are down. By taking over, I mean shooting when it wasn’t a good choice, then the D is not set up and and ORL just came back and scored hard. Same issues, just watching the ball movement. When it was good, it was that 10 pt comeback.

  • blubell

Please do not promote other fan sites here. lol.

  • NONONO

he played great PnR and made 100% 3s. Kemba killing the team by iso.

  • Alain Gervais

    none at all

  • LinMad

ya when he starts to dribble, its him and the basket. He doesn’t see anything else.

  • Alain Gervais

This is the biggest fall I’ve seen by a team in 1 season

  • heart

    KW: 17:32 minutes = 1 assist; 11 shots

  • NONONO

Their only fundamental is Kemba’s iso

  • travis

When he’s fascilitating as a wing player it’s harder to find lanes to score compared to a pg which makes him less lethal and easier to guard

  • blubell
  • LinMad

they need to learn how to play off of each other to create easier buckets rather than trying to prove they can score by themselves.

  • JoeTeam

I’ll talk bball with you sw … he was not passive in that 10 pt comeback. When he had the ball, he was pressing and when he got doubled and tripled, the released the ball. The one time he pressed it on a TO, he was getting D’d up hard and he just didn’t get out of it with control. I’m not even sure if there wasn’t a foul there. That was not passive, it was a good TOV because had he broken out properly, he would have had a wide open midrange from some hard D. Can’t remember if it was 2 on 1, I think it was just 1-1.

  • CJSHYY

I think more bc he already played 18 min. But he should take more shots… smh! Everytime when he talked about team ball he would not take the shots?!

  • xeroid

I disagree, note Hornets have a total of 7 assists, Lin has 3 of them, all easy lay up for the Bigs, and he has at least a couple of missed 3 point assists that’s open and missed. the second turnover is a missed referee call which Lin passed toward Hawes and was tipped out by Orlando player. Clifford walked out to the referee to complain..

  • sws94

When on with Roberts, Lin didn’t go out to get the ball but a few times and not as much as he usually does. That’s where I see problems with Lin. One thing is clear, though. He can PnR with Hansbrough.

  • JoeTeam

is that because he has to turn the corner with a good screen else he’s heading straight into rim protection without a good angle to the basket (too much lateral speed?) Just want to know what you mean.

  • blubell

    and 0 defense?

  • JoeTeam

ok, I’ll look for that. That pass to hawes where hawes complained to the ref on holding was a good one. But I think Hawes should be good enough to slit a hold at those angles and catch the pass.

  • Dorothy

    just flag the TROLL.

  • LinMad

Kemba is still trying to prove he belongs in ASG. Cliff doesn’t know what pieces fit where. I cant believe Lin hasn’t played PG this season. He is 4th option PG.

  • JoeTeam

    yeah!

  • JoeTeam

don’t feed the big that cannot catch.

  • sws94

I think in terms of attacking decisively and with bite and confidence and taking shots and contact when it is there. When Lin is not passive, he’s getting to the line. Did he get to the line? Nope. He had a number of possessions where he looked rather indecisive and not wanting to make something happen. And forcing stuff is part of it. He’s taken a step back from the last 2 games where he played much better. Hopefully, he’ll get better in the next half.

  • travis

yea basically he has to force it to the basket or pull up he has no room to weave in and out like Kemba which he’s shown he could do in the past which would lead to more assists and points which makes him much more unpredictable

  • sws94

But he can do it. That’s expanding his game so he doesn’t need the limitation of position. The better Lin plays off ball, the more opportunities he creates for himself in future situations on possibly the next team he goes to and in different systems.

  • fatbob

r u kidding? he might not have scored much, but 3 assists are not too bad.

  • JoeTeam

well, from what I saw he was attacking and at least 2x released because he was doubled and tripled.

This is a tough team to play for really, because it’s not designed to have lots of assists and a lot of players over 10 pts. Lin will get his 2nd half, he has done so more than not this season. It comes out of nowhere for him, this game is not one like some of his twisted ankle games. It feels like the same as most games, and the key is kw doesn’t take over too much. I hope they win.

  • Alain Gervais

hopefully lin gets it going.. He was breaking down the defense pretty easily.

  • xeroid

Even the first TO was due to missed foul call when Lin dribble and the foul cause him to stumble and unbalanced, during recovery the ball slipped forward.

  • Lin Win

So I’m not allowed to be fans of players on the same team as Lin?
Get you narrow minded thinking out of here

  • travis

They just need to trust lin more and give it back to him after he’s passed the more touches in a possession the more likely he will find a lane

  • Alain Gervais

orlando has double the assist we have

  • travis

And also Jeremy has shown to be a better 3 ball shooter off the dribble while running the point

  • JoeTeam

yes, and lateral defense is much easier than people backpedaling looking for the D attack point, and even if you do get free laterally, it’s v hard to put one up that has the right English. Harder to use the high glass too, to get over a big. Steph is the master of high glass, and that’s straight on.

  • sws94

Pull up. He has a 10-12 foot bank shot that he’s shown he can take and make.

  • Lin Win

I don’t mind being flagged by delusional people

  • JoeTeam

it’s the lateral momentum that’s tricky on those. Steph uses a body twist to bleed off that lateral speed.

  • tom

    Come on Lin score more!!

  • tom

    0.5 lol

  • Alain Gervais

idk what happened it was better before. Also what happen to the defense

  • LinMad

  • travis

I like the way Jeremy has looked to play make while not worrying about turnovers

  • Alain Gervais

  • BobbyH

    Ego wise.

The thing is as the games go this season, the formula above will change as W will move up the chain.

Then I will cheer for the Hornets even if KW is the hero lol. Go get ’em.

Lin’s ankle might be not 100%. But he needs to trust his jump shoots.

  • LinMad

that’s not even running the offense/facilitating…that was a desperate move cause of mistakes after mistakes from other guys. Cliff usually tells Lin to attack the basket when things go bad.

  • Dorothy

  • xeroid

When Lin dribbled toward the basket, where are everyone else. I saw all grey uniforms, nobody moved toward the basket for rebound or cut for lay up, all were in perimeter.

  • adele

Confused with the coaching. Who wouldn’t? You have the bigs but you stick on your line up. Then you have a PG who controls the ball and chuck up shots with only 1 assist.

  • sws94

Off season first priority and as much as he can during.

  • wandertheglobe

    Skiles looks like Cliff’s son.

  • sws94

Lin just holds the ball when he gets the pass and looks to pass it back to Kemba.

  • xeroid

Well, fast break, pass to Walker, he only has to pass back at the trailing Lin, but he decided to try for contact and no call, 2 points the other way.

  • tom

So basically passing is not an option for Kemba

  • Alain Gervais

    This team is broken

  • LinMad

i don’t think he wanted to contest that shot cause his teammates were already ahead of him. The ones that didn’t run with KW.

  • NONONO

Nah, Lin was ahead of most of the pack on the break, no way he would make it back after the passes covered so much distance. Just a missed fastbreak on one end and a crosscourt play on the other.

Somehow Lin is off today and been passive.

  • NONONO

Lin does not even match Daniel’s shooting motivation. Something is wrong.

  • tom

    He’s passive half the time

  • Alain Gervais

will the starters play the whole second haif

  • tom

    doubt it

  • David Kim

    so boring game!!!!

  • Alain Gervais

whose going to play then. Cliff didn’t rest Lin or Walker

  • LinMad

This team looks like they need a lot more drawn plays. I mean a lot…

  • blubell
  • Rick Johnson

    Hive Talk Live‏@HiveTalkLive

Hmmm Kemba and Clifford having some words there. Sure there is plenty of frustration to go around.

    https://twitter.com/HiveTalkLive/status/690712375041904642

  • heart

Magic passes the rock around=ball movement to let different players have touches. Hornets rock stays w/ KW until he decides to pass or shoot it himself.

  • zxcvb

Can’t blame Lin when he’s barely touching the ball.

Let him play PG and give him 20FGA like Kemba and we’ll talk.

  • Guest

All the week end that I so look forward to watching Jeremy play just spoilt by this hopeless franchise.
    I hate Hornets the most!!!

  • FSW

    Terrible defense by hornets

  • NONONO

I can see why Kemba did not pass Lin much today. Lin seems keep looking pass ball back. Instructions from Clifford?

  • aras

excuses he has had touches this game he has been downright awful this game so far

  • LinMad

If only Hornets players cared more about defense. 3rd qtr and already over 90 pts.

  • zxcvb

Kemba has 0 fouls as usual…not even trying on defense. He’s saving all his energy for offense and not passing unless he has no choice.

  • sws94

Don’t understand how you can say let Lin play PG based on how shaky he’s been with the ball tonight and how good Oladipo and Payton are at defense.

  • zxcvb

Nope. Learn basketball and watch the game.

He’s not playing great, but you can’t blame him plaing SG/SF and touching the ball every 10 minutes.

  • CJSHYY

    His team ball theory… smh!

  • LinMad

Maybe KW asked Cliff to take Lin out for BROB? lol

  • sws94

Lin looks like a 36 year old player out there tonight. He must have tweaked something in practice because he looks much worse tonight than he did in Wednesday’s game.

  • zxcvb

Lin still leads the team in Points-Per-Shot. He’s doing his job. Just needs more shots.

  • FSW

Live and die with Kemba ball

  • NONONO

No, he doesn’t seem to expect Kemba pass back at all when Kemba looked his direction.

  • Rzo Vlade

I am starting to doubt this guy…..smh

  • CJSHYY

    Who?

  • heart

Cliff or KW? Why just now?

  • leeda harun

the injuries piling up because they over do it in practice

  • FSW

    Lin?

  • Alain Gervais

    thats what i was thinking

  • JoeTeam

zx, aras, sw – it’s like we are at a game and the people in front of us keep standing up. Lin is doing fine for what he has to work with. If it were me on that court, I’d be underperforming too.

I dont’ think any team intends to go in and lose by 20. This is not JLin playing badly, it’s from coach down. Some of you just want Lin to do the kw scoring thing, but he’s not about that. Part of the reason why they are losing so badly is indiv selfishness.

Did you just see Frank take a few moves into a block? Early in the clock. When CHA did the 10pt comeback, it was ball movement and team play. Then kw took over, first with a nice layup that was hard and needed. But that gave him the hunger, and the comeback ended 1 pt short.

  • tom

    Lin done for the nigth?

  • Rzo Vlade

not even floater…. which is a very simple move cant see it

  • wandertheglobe

    Kaminsky hornets new PG

  • NONONO

i hope so for today, something is not right.

  • LinMad

I just saw Tyler set a proper screen for KW. He knows more than the other bigs but barely gets time.

  • aras

Joe trust me when i say i dont want Lin to do the KW thing…but what i do want him to do is play his game which he is not doing.

  • Rick Johnson

Magic move the ball quite well.

  • Rzo Vlade

maybe he want to be push around or be out of the nba……a simple floater move is that hard to do even street basketball its the go to move

  • LinMad

lol I like watching Tyler he’s physical. I think he just pushed and cussed at Payton but the ref didn’t even whistle.

  • CJSHYY

Can’t agree more. I am done.

  • FSW

Hornets look like a pick up team. Terrible defense predictable offense. Ugh

  • Alain Gervais

    the guy is hurt relax

  • wandertheglobe

In contrast, most of hornets possessions are with ball stopper

  • travis

Please take out Roberts for Lin sooner than later

  • FSW

Hornet role rest of season make other teams look good
    Sad

  • LinMad

Lin got 4 assists today and he wasn’t even PG

  • FSW

    Ooh Kemba scores again

  • FSW

    333333 for kw

  • tom

    still no Lin? smh

  • LinMad

he wont’ go in if they are catching up. Maybe at 7 or 4 min mark

  • JoeTeam

bro, sis, etc what do you want him to do? I’ve played for unorganized teams, and it’s hit and miss if you can get your game going. Just look at it … kw is a terrible quarterback, PG whatever you want to call it and he just messes up the team flow. That means CHA on a good night might play NBA bball, and on a bad night you and I could be out there and probably not stink up the place.

  • FSW

    Lin off tonight

  • JoeTeam

This team has been down by over 10 so much of this game, up to 20. So just how should JLin play when the team is playing so badly to ORL? This isn’t GSW, SAS, or even CLE. This is ORL. This is a no show for CHA, anybody think Blatt needs a job?

  • blubell
  • leeda harun

cliff thinks the answer is kw mkg batum only..other players are fillers only

  • tom

    Clifford is a shyt coach

  • LinMad

Frank is so weak around the rim.

  • Epie

    as usual

  • JoeTeam

we got lied to didn’t we lol? Keep the faith, Leeda.

  • leeda harun

    He got extension…. Lol

  • fatbob

so true man, he finally puts in hansborough and kaminsky together and our D suddenly does a 180. This guy must be incredibly stupid to finally figure out something so obvious

  • sws94

He shouldn’t go in. Roberts and Daniels are doing well and they cut into the lead.

  • NONONO

Too bad. It is winnable game. Lin is big off somehow today. Hope he will be alright soon,

  • leeda harun

always have faith….that is why I am here to support Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin is done for the day

  • Rick Johnson

If Lin still injured he’s not doing himself any good playing injured.

  • NONONO

    Maybe is the hair?

  • LinMad

I think Lin doing a lot for the things this team lacks like defense and play making. His shooting will come back but he can’t be 100% for everything.

  • ty

Lin saving his health for the trade to …

  • LinMad

these refs are rtarded. They just let KW yell “That’s some f&64ing bull s798 yooooo!”. They know their calls are bad.

  • LinMad

    these refs are half baked.

  • Epie

With right PG Psycho can play really well just like in his college years. Not sure why he doesn’t get more minutes.

  • Epie

    Oh wow.. maybe

  • LinMad

    wow they caught up

  • LinMad

    Hawes PnR to Roberts? LOL

  • leeda harun

it is so weird that they hire you for a job but didnt use you at all…only to warm the bench

  • Alain Gervais

i would rater lin miss a week or two at the point

  • aras

    Wow comeback

  • JoeTeam

    with passing and assists.

  • travis

Damn Roberts isn’t that bad if he’s a sg

  • travis

Kemba hustling on the defensive end.

  • Epie

He’s probably the only guy who can play tough below the rim atm.

  • LinMad

great now Cliff can blame Lin more for the losses.

  • JoeTeam

not sure … he took a 3 on 1 contested midrange jumper, runner that bricked. Don’t know why he did that.

  • JoeTeam

not really, opera is not over yet.

  • LinMad

Magic 0 pts in past 4:30 though. That’s just being super lucky.

  • LinMad

I think I’m going to win $15,000 today on my bet

  • leeda harun

Need to tighten up the defense

  • LinMad

man this is like the Twilight Zone

  • LinMad

    Biggest comeback in Hornets history?

  • LinMad

    big mistake by Roberts

  • FSW

    Good trade Lin

  • leeda harun

well the last time 23 points

  • grover chang

Is Lin out during this comeback

  • LinMad

    Hawes is surprising me

  • LinMad

ya was out all of 4th

  • Alain Gervais

    wow

  • LinMad

    WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • guest

    Good for Kemba!

  • Alain Gervais

Lin mad just might be the luckiest man in the world

  • JoeTeam

np, it’s been with good D, some good transition play, ball movement. It’s not hog ball winning. Tape will tell them this works.

  • aras

wow what a comeback! walker has been great this game!

  • leeda harun

    ha ha

  • LinMad

Money in the bank! But u know I already make $20,000 a month so this isn’t a lot to me.

  • DX

Be honest, Lin didn’t play good tonight.

  • sws94

Kemba did a great job here. And he’s clutch.

  • aras

    Yep

  • JoeTeam

send some to my PO Box and I will “Like” all you posts.

  • leeda harun

    such a gambler

  • sws94

Off-game. Tomorrow is another day and hope the Hornets win tonight. Good for Daniels and Roberts, they made the difference tonight.

  • Epie

Read the discussions below. Plenty of honest talk here.

  • LinMad

    lol

  • NONONO

huge come back. kudos to Marvin, Daniel, Kemba, Roberts, Hawes

  • sws94

    34/7/5 for Kemba. Excellent numbers.

  • LinMad

    Give it to MW!

  • DX

    Just hope get OT.

  • JoeTeam

that is true as long as he plays team ball. When he doesn’t, they lose. KW has a great speed layup, on or reverse.

  • LinMad

    WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • LinMad

    THIS IS CRAZY

  • leeda harun

All I want is a win

  • Alain Gervais

    payton should of reset there

  • JoeTeam

well, I am just saying I am willing to work for my money lol.

  • LinMad

Kemba gets picked, steals it back, calls time out

  • aras

    WHAT THE EFF!

  • JoeTeam

    Payton hair > Lin tonight.

  • DX

Lin should be more aggressive, not just work on D.

  • JoeTeam

and let Lin in to rain 3s.

  • LinMad

Props to KW. Not going to lie. And also the rest of the team in 4th quarter. Hawes look like a real big in the 4th. He tipped in missed buckets. Twilight Zone.

  • sws94

He played Kemba ball a little. The thing is, Roberts and Daniels moved around and were decisive taking pressure off of Kemba. KW will then tone it down if he sees activity from teammates. Sometimes.

  • deesee5

just hope to get the win.

  • sws94

He didn’t have it tonight. Not solid on his feet, no speed.

  • ty

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while

  • JoeTeam

High 5 for winning your ‘game’. Rambling gambling you.

  • fatbob

    amazing game by kemba tonight!

  • LinMad

Payton scored more on Roberts than Lin. Lin was good at D

  • fatbob

bryan roberts played amazing tonight, played how lin should have played

  • JoeTeam

Yep. This game on the comeback (both) was good to watch. Too bad Lin was not in when things went the team’s way. I still think it’s all about KW setting the tone how it goes.

  • Alain Gervais

    lol hahahahahahahaha

  • Alain Gervais

    hahahahahahahahahaha

  • JoeTeam

    ha ha OT …

  • Dorothy

    OT, lol

  • leeda harun

The most important thing is play like a real team..not once in a while.

  • Alain Gervais

    hahahahahaha

  • deesee5

    WOOOOOOOWWWW

  • LinMad

    man …

  • LinMad

    They better win OT

  • LinMad

how come every game we win we have to go in OT

  • DX

    Yes, I say 2 OT.

  • JoeTeam

oh oh, LinMad … that was your chance to close out!

Now, let’s hope JLin can help you win your bet.

  • aras

BAHAHAH are you kidding me……that was the luckiest shot ive seen

  • deesee5

Welp you got your wish there sir….

  • Alain Gervais

because we are a very very bad team

  • travis

    Time to play lin lol

  • FSW

    Sorry linmad

  • Alain Gervais

    i don’t think so

  • cshot

    what was linmad’s bet?

  • leeda harun

    we still a mediocre team…?

  • LinMad

    im winning no matter what.

  • JoeTeam

    LMAO, too true that.

  • Alain Gervais

    mediocre???

  • LinMad

$15,000 if we win, -$5,000 if we lose.

  • FSW

    Yes

  • sws94

Lucky shot. Shame, it was good D.

  • JoeTeam

    good for you …

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin still on bench

  • FSW

Live and die by walker- 2 over times?

  • LinMad

Cliff will not play him after sitting that long.

  • JoeTeam

so do you have a side bet on KW scoring to get there if CHA lose? I can’t say WE because right now I’m disagreeing with the FO on Lin’s role.

  • travis

    Walker 52? Lol

  • NONONO

    no, Linmad no heartache please.

  • Alain Gervais

    yea i know

  • LinMad

nope I bet for the team win only.

  • JoeTeam

well then here’s to winning OT.

  • rookie75094

Jlin should sit out the next 5 games for that ankle to completely heal. .he is moving like he is stuck in mud

  • travis

Kemba solid defense down the stretch

  • LinMad

booking a penthouse right now. Thank you Hornets. We got this.

  • travis

    Lin time !!!!

  • Lin Win

    Wtf Lin not in OT?

  • aras

i’d rather lin not come in to be honest.

  • LinMad

everyone looks like they are putting more effort in D. Why can’t they do this at 1st qtr?

  • fatbob

    bryan roberts playing proper D

  • grover chang

Does lin look happy or sad?

  • TK Wong

Regarding Kemba- strategy and scoring … If there’s eight overtimes Kemba can score 100+ points

  • Dorothy

    Troll, flagged

  • leeda harun

Not feeling the flow of the game

  • Lin Win

    Troll Flagged

  • Epie

    Still a troll flagged

  • sws94

    Lin? Rooting for the team.

  • NONONO

    they played too little together

  • travis

Next game sub Kemba early and let him play with Roberts and 2nd unirt

  • sport

Checked stats, saw OT, quickly guess Walker went chuckfest again and I was right 16-28 :/ Lin had 29 min and only took 6 shots and isn’t even on the floor for OT. So glad I gave up watching after a few seconds of Lin as SF. Waste of TIME!

  • Alain Gervais

evertime its almost over. kemba pulls them back in lol

  • Lin Win

Dude shooting over 50% what do you want?

  • JoeTeam

Lin was out most of 4th if not all.

  • LinMad

    WOW, KW loses it again?

  • grover chang

That sounds like our Lin. Love. Supportive. Selfless.

  • Alain Gervais

    dam bro

  • JoeTeam

with over 2 mins go go, I was thinking it would be smart to reset and get Lin in and now you see it they let Magic back …

  • sport

Only taking 6 shot attempts is way too little! If Lin wants to make a case that he’s a starting PG he needs to take 15+ shots every game. He also needs to look for his stats if he wants a good contract.

  • ty

    the consummate teammate…. that’s a lot of m’s

  • Epie

    HAWES!!!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    will this game ever end

  • sws94

Oladipo is a solid defender. Kemba is getting tired also.

  • ty

lots of nuts for the blind squirl!!

  • John Focker

    2OT please…run Walker down…

  • leeda harun

    ha ha..

  • LinMad

    HAWES. REALLY? CLIFF TRUSTED HAWES?

  • JoeTeam

kw always fades at then end of tough games except for that one where he and Lin teamed up.

  • travis

    Let’s go!!!

  • cshot

make those when lin passes it to you lol

  • sport

At this rate Walker will go down before the season ends.

  • DanCohen

    better than lin right now!

  • Alain Gervais

Watching this much bad basketball will make me lose my mind

  • Barry Allen

    No kidding.

  • travis

When’s lins in no defense or made shots

  • John Focker

Just for tomorrow’s b2b, still hoping Hornets trades his rear.

  • JoeTeam

Yep, the’ve been trading bad bball shifts, CHA and ORL.

  • travis

Very exiting game even tho their basically playing pickup ball

  • grover chang

Sounds like for tonight most played better then Lin.

  • sport

With that Jordan shoe contract? lol Keep dreaming.

  • Alain Gervais

this game was for you Linmad

  • JoeTeam

    Done, Lin Mad wins.

CHA well, not really. Just to me still playing bad bball. For sure Lin got the short end of mojo … I tend to agree with Travis … Lin in shots didnt fall assists, no D.

  • LinMad

lol Lin on the court when MW caught that.

  • JoeTeam

    word!

  • DanCohen

You guys will actually want hornets to lose this game
because if they win, they win without lin.
plus lin’s minutes has been up when they are having a losing record..
cliff will then think to decrease lin’s minutes and see if they win again because that’s what happen in the begiinning..but that’s with batum.

  • NONONO

    Go Linmad

  • Guest

Hornets found the right combination to pull out a win. You bound to get lucky once in a while.

  • LinMad

nah I got my $15,000 from this game. Booking my penthouse right now in Vegas.

    https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8482/8165067198_099aa9f799_z.jpg

  • JoeTeam

not really. When Lin was in, they were down by up to 20. Whole team play badly. He was in during the first comeback of 10 pts, and that was all team ball no kw ball. Then kw took over and back to deficit. The comeback was good team ball and ORL just missing every shot.

  • DanCohen

does she come with it too?

  • sport

Even without Batum, Cliff refuse to let Lin lead as PG, not even for 2nd unit! This is all BS!

  • LinMad

no but I’ll find a few on the strip

  • JoeTeam

we;re going to need a game report since you got good seats.

  • Barry Allen

I really don’t understand why Lin went to the Hornets in the first place.

  • sws94

sport, it wasn’t Lin’s night. Let his team win tonight and he comes back tomorrow and plays well. I hope. Or he rests his ankle.

  • John Focker

Don’t you have to split it with Hawes?

  • travis

Aye man this team is extremely frustrating with lins role but if they make the playoffs lin can have a chance to shine if he can get hot

  • leeda harun

kw is the hero. ??the face of the franchise

  • LinMad

I can’t say that it was Cliff’s coaching that got us this win. It was more the will of each player in the 4th and OT that won this game.

  • deesee5

what happens in vegas stays in vegas.. Exept for herpes. That will shii will go with you. lol

  • DanCohen

    2 million dollars…
but you wanted him as a starter no?
I never did becausse I seen what happens if he does.. like right now.
but no matter what, they invested too heavily in kw..so he is the defactor pg no matter what.

  • NONONO

Lin did not want the ball today. something is wrong. maybe ankle

  • Alain Gervais

he looked more hurt then the last few games. idk if he tweaked something in practice

  • Ben Johnson

yup, Jeremy didn’t play well as a SG tonight, oh well, maybe that’s b/c he’s a PG, done with this team

  • JoeTeam

you’re still faithful. Me, I just want Lin to play consistently well so he can get his K, and let the season end.

  • Ben Johnson

Ball Movement was better in the 4th quarter, and Magic missed their shots, that’s about it

  • Alain Gervais

they won’t make the playoff with the way they play

  • Ben Johnson

    they ain’t making it man

  • sport

JLin wasn’t playing SG at all, he was SF and Daniels was SG today which is just sad!

  • JoeTeam

and that causes this team to struggle to beat middling to bad teams.

  • Alain Gervais

Id rater see lin in a suit right now. That was the most hurt he looked for a whole game

  • LinMad

    Lin won’t make any excuses

  • CJSHYY

I don’t know … but after tonight, Lin probably will get less playing time…

  • LinMad

ya Magic got 0 pts for longest time.

  • travis

They might not but I’m saying we should definetly still be rooting for them to make playoffs unless lins traded

  • DanCohen

    I doubt it..
if they win like this again without lin that much, lin will not even get a chance to shine.
This game MIGHT determine that clifford will start playing lin less than let shooter in..

lin has been stinking with his shooting.. call me a hater mod or swhatever but what I’m saying is real and keeping it real. even some lin fan think that way too.

  • Alain Gervais

its weird he just looked worst with 2 day rest. did he hurt his leg in practice

  • LinMad

    h*** naww

  • JoeTeam

not me, I want the season to end because they will be one and out, and JLin needs to focus on his resume and negotiations. Then I can focus on life and GSW lol.

  • Ben Johnson

Yup…amazing how Kemba loves to pass the ball when JLin isn’t in the game…Daniels and Roberts were freezing him out also…it’s comical

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Maybe it’s time for Lin to revert back to his old shooting form….This new shooting form is taking time to get locked in and maybe it won’t come.

  • sport

Said the coach “knew his game” asked how he liked to be played, etc. Of course those were all lies just to get to Lin to sign. If Cliff knew Lin’s “game” he would be playing him as PG and calling loads of PnR plays, yet he’s using Lin the same way as Mchale but worst!!

  • aras

Lin was a non factor this game. hoping he picks his game up the next one…tough to watch lin play like this man

  • leeda harun

I want to hear the post game interview

  • LinMad

i dont’ know. The team just looked better in 4th qtr. It’s like they woke up and finally started to play. Lin ran into a lot of traffic today and got 3 TOs. Some that looked like it hit the Magic first before going out of bounds.

  • travis

I think his scoring is down because he’s playing shooting guard not because injuries or his shooting form. Not being aloud to handle the ball and also being guarded by 6’5 + guys will have its effects on lins ability to slash and shoot

  • sws94

Probably tweaked it. He may be OK tomorrow. But Cliff was right to rest him tonight and thankfully, Daniels and Roberts played well. In fact, Daniels should play more. Did anyone notice Lamb didn’t play the 2nd half. He probably wasn’t even ready to play tonight.

  • occupatio

i checked out after 3rd quarter. im shocked the hornets won.

  • travis

I don’t think I saw him on the bench

  • Barry Allen

Magic imploded. They do that often.

  • Alain Gervais

idk its just weird. i wouldn’t take much from that type of game

  • JoeTeam

not sure what the team dynamic is but you are right post more ! lol. I just think this is crap team setup for such a good player in Lin. Everytime he goes out there, he makes a difference. Today, he could have had more assists extending his play. Not sure why he was pulled. If it’s not injury, we’ve never really seen Cliff pull Batum, KW, for poor play.

  • Barry Allen

    Lin was playing NSG.

  • John Focker

Clif didn’t look all too happy, and left the court early. Kemba being showcased and shopped?

  • rookie75094

I rather see no playing time until that ankle is right

  • travis

Imagine they upset somebody first round due to lin, would be a guaranteed starting spot and big contract

  • CJSHYY

They maybe started to tryout w/o Lin for close since MKG will be back soon….

  • sws94

He used the new form all pre-season and shot great. I don’t think it is form. It’s something else.

  • fatbob

    no lin no win!

  • DanCohen

and our favorite player didn’t close the game or play in OT…are you surprise too.

  • DanCohen

    which planet are you on.

  • CJSHYY

Me too. But since Batum is not OK they still will play Lin no matter what….

  • occupatio

    yep

  • Barry Allen

It’s the Magic. They are famous for implosions.

  • sport

Checked-in around 2nd quarter for a few seconds and couldn’t check out fast enough! Just painful to see Lin missed used and out of his natural position as PG. He was pushed to SG and this game he was pushed to SF, what next?

  • JoeTeam

ok, I’m in for that! Beat CLE ha ha. CHA against GSW!!!

  • fatbob

lol just messing around, lin had awful game tonight. And this game shows he might be the cause for alot of the losses we’ve had

  • John Focker

Dolan trading for Kemba to spite Lin? LOL

  • rookie75094

He should tell cliff to sit him…got to watch out for his health

  • CJSHYY

Bc Magic started not score well in 4Q but on the other hand, Hornets made the shots… this happen…

  • DanCohen

it’s getting annoying.. so annoying to a point that I don’t know if I was glad that I didn’t ‘watch’ the game since he started because I might be wasting my time.

  • leeda harun

Need to take care of his ankle…still a lot of games to look forward too

  • leeda harun

    please…dont watch then..find other things to do…lol

  • CJSHYY

Don’t think he cares about Lin now…

  • John Focker

The newly discovered ninth planet in the Kuiper belt…

  • Barry Allen

On 1 game? Now you are stretching, fats.

  • LinMad

omg this 1 game sample size

  • JoeTeam

    go for it!

  • DanCohen

oh zamm.. you have to watch out for what you say..else you might get banned or lock out of disque.

  • Alain Gervais

yup and those losses he missed with injury as well

  • Ben Johnson

Can’t believe there is no team out there that won’t give JLin, one of the top 5 PnR guards in the league, at least 20 minutes to, ya know, play the PnR…

  • rookie75094

    That would be awsome

  • sport

I tried giving this game a chance since it was a Friday but nope couldn’t stomache this. Glad I’ve given up watching the games. This hype and Walker chuckfest is sick!

  • DanCohen

    lol just cut them up!.

  • Ben Johnson

    flagged, good bye

  • leeda harun

really…you such an expert in bb..lol

  • fatbob

    fatbob has been banned

  • DanCohen

I don’t know about cause, but it’s very visible correlation and clifford might reduce lin’s minute base on that now.

  • rookie75094

Yes i want to see that…and if they get lucky and win a few games …they might even trade him

  • JoeTeam

Ben, one solution: get Jada P Smith to be JLin’s advocate.

  • Ben Johnson

I would think Cliff is smart enough to watch the tape, which will show that the Magic completely imploded in the 4th quarter, and that JLin played a relatively decent game, while getting frozen out by some of his scrub teammates

  • fatbob

why ban people for no good reason? I didn’t say anything bad, some of you guys too insecure

  • LinMad

Did Lin really play bad? 7 pts 4 assists on 6 shot attempts? I’d say decent cause he wasn’t PG or SG today. He was more like a SF

  • aras

Lin was not decent he was bad…its not blasphemy to say lin was bad.

  • leeda harun

In order to get to the playoff..every player needs to be healthy.it is still a long journey

  • JoeTeam

I saw a few blown assists, so no he actually played ok for a team getting down 10 to 20. V unorganized play when he was in, that he calmed down and got people going for a 10pt comeback (though he was not PG, he did do probes that resulted in overD on him and kick outs).

  • deesee5

He didn’t make much of a difference while he was on the floor that is..

  • Ben Johnson

no good reason? Dude, you come here to troll your azz off, making a correlation based on one game where the opposing team imploded..

  • John Focker

    SEVEN points.

  • JoeTeam

he was fine aras. See sum of all my posts. I watched a different game lol.

  • LinMad

    fixed

  • deesee5

Yeah few blown assists. Overall they played like crap until the end.

  • LinMad

no one did in the first 3 qtrs…

  • deesee5

    Yeah I said it below.

  • Mo Lin

3 turnovers a team high. not a good night for lin

  • Ben Johnson

Best perimeter defense, about 6 missed assists, 1.15 points per FGA…he played decent

  • Barry Allen

He seemed off today and too passive.

  • John Focker

    One was an obvious non-call.

  • Mo Lin

kemba cooking proving to everyone who the real pg of this team is. Daniels came to play tonight and bailed out the jeremies awful night

  • leeda harun

yes you are right..but some posters knew it just wont admit it..

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

He did commit 3 turnovers which is too much…was 2 of 6 which is also not good.

The turnovers are what makes it really a bad outing for Lin.

He did knock down a 3 point shot.

  • aras

Lin will not get reduced minutes peeps. at least i hope not because that would be dumb..you dont change everything based off on 1 game…if that were true aaron brooks would replace rose already…cliff was smart enough to keep the same unit in that got the comeback going.

  • CJSHYY

Every player had bad shooting night…not really that big deal. Glad Daniels played well tonight bc he’s on & off.

  • LinMad

that would mean Lamb doesn’t get to play anymore lol

  • John Focker

It utterly frustrating to have trolls roam this once peaceful sanctuary…

  • fatbob

until you can admit that lin had a bad game, you guys will be shackled forever. Try to look at lin from a non biased point of view and you will live your lives happier. Besides most of my posts here are defending lin, I always am happy when lin does well.

  • JoeTeam

I’m not sure if one of the TOVs was a foul, I thought I saw that.

  • sport

Lin chose the wrong team for sure. Cliff does not know his game at all! Any coach who does, knows PG and PNR is his game! Yet the way Lin’s played is like how Mchale marginalized him to prop up Harden and his chuckfest except this time it’s Walker.

  • Barry Allen

Time to put down the BanHammer on them!

  • Barry Allen

I agree. I think Lin picked the wrong team.

  • LinMad

it does look like KW is getting the green light to play how he did last season. Only difference this season is that he’s a little more efficient.

  • Lam

seriously, no team no win. They ain’t going to the playoffs for sure.

  • Lefon Jang

Look at the bright side. He’s improved his defense and able to play other positions. I’m sure other coaches are noticing.

  • fatbob

    am i banned yet?

  • leeda harun

he already picked the team..he will do his best

  • fatbob

surprised, hopefully i last through the night

  • leeda harun

Lin always said he got to wear many hats not like any player

  • sport

    lol Chucking 28 shots sure….

  • LinMad

I’m betting Hornets win next game. I’m betting $15,000 for $60,000 payout if they win tomorrow. It’s NY. Lin will play incredible tomorrow. He’s going to prove that Kemba is not the only goto guy. Mark my words.

  • grover chang

Tonight sounds like Lin body and game were not right. But his heart is always in the right place. Sounds like he tried his best to bring the team together when on or off the court.

I respect Lin for trying to have the team win together when he started.

  • LinMad

for everyone saying “See, I told you Lin fans so that KW is better than Lin.” KW has had all the opportunity to succeed this season. Lin has been playing outside his role a lot and buried behind other players like Roberts, Batum, etc but still was able to get a few good games this season. One where he scored 35 pts. He’s had many games where he scored in double figures.

  • Ben Johnson

Roberts and Daniels were actively freezing out JLin tonight, worked well for them….Kemba also turned up the teamball in the 4th quarter while Jeremy was out…JLin had 1 open look that other players created for him…Roberts and Daniels got twice as many screen and far more open looks…

  • Dorothy

    Troll, flagged

  • Barry Allen

Knicks are fighting for a playoff spot in the easy East and they are barely above water. Dolan has other things to worry about, like how his team is a non-contender.

  • Ben Johnson

ISO Kemba isn’t even what won it for them…Kemba played much more teamball in the 4th quarter while JLin was benched…coincidence?

  • leeda harun

l always respect Lin. He is doing his best and do what ever he asks for.

  • CJSHYY

Din’t watch the full game. But I was surprised to see Hawes played well why not he did so w Lin? So the players were against Lin?

  • LinMad

right…that was a game changer. Maybe he feels Lin is a threat when he’s on court with him so he chooses to shoot the team out.

  • grover chang

True. We all know when Lin was given control of the ball. It was called linsanity. I’ve yet seen that from his teammates.

  • Lefon Jang

I thought so too. Roberts was getting more touches than Lin!

  • Ben Johnson

Daniels and Roberts clearly are…Kemba also seems to play teamball more when JLin is on the bench for some strange reason

  • Hope

Lin plays great. Nice come back by hornets. Magics packed up way too early.

  • NONONO

Has anyone heard anything about Lin from post-game interviews?

  • CJSHYY

Ya! From the AS number can tell…. Players know they needed to work w Kemba if they are going to stay w Hornets since Lin will not stay….

  • CJSHYY

Daniels is Kemba’s man… from China trip can tell… Also feel Kemba don’t like Lamb.

  • guest

Have been hearing Lin saying him changing his shooting form since Rockets days. When is it going to change for the better?
Doc has been saying Lin shoots well but why the “real” change only took place last offseason?
Hope it’s better late than never.

  • sws94

Lin tweeted Kemba is an all-star.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Statistically, Lin didn’t play a good game just like the last time Nick Batum was in. What kind of offense is Charlotte running? It seems to me T Daniels thrives on this type of offense. and Kemba almost gets to take 30 shots making half of them and getting fouled a lot.
My impression is this is a Kemba-centered offense that the Hornets is running. Kemba got 40 points playing 46 minutes.
Lin has done no better or no worse than Nic Batum before he was sidelined.
Steve Hawes has played extremely well in his 32 minutes.
    Frank didn’t play well neither.
Only Kemba and Hawes thrived in the first unit.
In the 2nd unit, only T Daniels and Brian Roberts apparently played well according to +/-. They both shot well. We all know that they were good at jump shots. They picked up almost no free throws and I presume they were just waiting for Kemba to feed them and stood around at a distance.

The difference of the game is the Magic took 10 less shots and made 9 more TOs but they made 8 more assists.
I guess the Magic passed more and their balls got picked off.
This is a pretty much Kemba centered game with him either taking shots most of the time or have him kicked out of the ball for jump shots.

Lin just like Batum has trouble playing in this kind of game but Kemba is good at it.
Lin is versatile but not that versatile in this kind of offense.
This is a game that both sides has a chance to win or lose. This is an ugly game.
If this is a game to prepare Kemba for ASG, the result is ideal but if this is a game to prepare for wins, the Hornets is lucky to survive.

  • LinMad

i do feel sorry that KW wasn’t top 10 though. He is putting up good numbers and not getting recognition for it.

  • guest

Funny every season we blame the team not running the Lin’s offensive scheme…hope we don’t hear the same tune next season. Choose wisely Lin team.

  • Ben Johnson

No below 500 team should have an all-star, unless that player is ridiculously good…like Kobe back in 2005-2007 when his team was garbage

  • leeda harun

lin is a good team mate

  • Ben Johnson

Well, this year he was lied to, troll…and he was naive and didn’t do enough research on the team’s roster, which as constructed, has garbage roll men that can’t finish

  • LinMad

problem with this team is that they don’t have the right personnel to run the Lin/MDA offensive scheme. You can’t PnR with Hawes, Frank, Zeller, etc. Maybe Tyler but coach won’t let that happen.

  • Dorothy

Agreed (including the troll part ), but his agents should have done the research for him.

  • sport

Old form was not working, too slow, required too much jumping, which
made Lin’s leg tire out faster. Lin wants to shoot like Steph Curry with a quick
release and less jumping for less fatigue and more consistency in the
long run. There was an article earlier asking about his shooting struggles and Lin said he’s working on his new form and working hard but it’s not there yet but he will stick with it cause it’s worth it in the long run, which is true.

  • leeda harun

Cho and cliff tdidnt do a good job in choosing players.. They need a center. ?

  • LinMad

I’m going to be completely honest here and I think most or all of you will agree. Lin isn’t good offensively when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands most the time. You can do the same thing to KW and he will miss more buckets than usual. Being a guard, you need the ball in your hand to get in rhythm.

Lin hasn’t played enough SG to be like Troy Daniels where he can just catch and shoot well.

  • Ben Johnson

He’s not an NBA quality starting SG, that’s the truth…he’s a top 10-15 PG who would look like a top 5 PG in an MDA system, that’s the truth…he’s barely a top 50 SG

  • Kwok Wai Lai

You can not answer to a post that Lin Win made because it isn’t active. This Lin Win has been a troll in Lin’s name.

  • guest

    ok, now i know you…lol

  • Barry Allen

Yes, Lin needs the ball in his hands. He’ll never have the same impact as a catch and shoot player that he does as a ball-dominant PG. As a PG Lin controls the tempo well, makes great passes and attacks the rim. That’s how Linsanity happened, and you don’t try to fix what’s not broke.

  • LinMad

    agreed. PG is his butter.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The game plan is not in his favour and he took only 6 shots. I guess the paint must be packed.

  • sport

PG and PNR is his bread and buter, sadly only MDA is will to unleash that, allow Lin be the leader of the team!

  • Barry Allen

From the start it boggled me why Lin chose this team to play behind Kemba who already has a huge contract.

  • Barry Allen

I’m not sure what the Hornets promised him, but from what’s transpiring he made a huge mistake.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Not when the game plan is just like today.
This is a Kemba centered offense they are running. They ran it for 3 quarters until the 4th when Kemba was more willing to share with Brian Roberts and TDaniels who had shot really well; better % than Kemba.

  • Barry Allen

I agree they lack the talent for a good PnR team.

  • LinMad

DanCohen, did it work out in Lakers when MDA coached there? No.

  • Barry Allen

    Lin is a classy teammate!

  • LinMad

    agree like MJ said

  • guest

My honest answer: Lin has confidence in Cho, Clifford who promised(lied) him that he’d be allowed to his game aka MDA style.
Lin can only excel in MDA system. He knows it and hence the choice.

  • sport

Cheap 2Mil contract, any lip-service will be out the window moment he signs on the dotted line. Ex: Harden, Walker, Kobe gets to do what they want because they hold the biggest contracts. Lin should know how big the contract is, completely affects how he will be used and max players always get their way!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Moderator, how come there are so many posts that you couldn’t respond because they are not active starting with posts of Lin Win, LinMad, Linxxxx

  • Singapore BB Fan

I think JLin is the proudest person in Hornets to see Troy Daniels breakthrough

  • LinMad

I think he’s deleting certain user’s posts that he knows are trolls/Lin haters?

  • Barry Allen

I think Mods are doing a great job here.

  • guest

    Consummate teammate. A Leader!

  • LinMad

    Troy may replace Lamb

  • Dorothy

Disagreed, Lin will excel as long as team plays teamball,

  • Singapore BB Fan

Yes. JLin is a huge encourager. Not afraid when others around him succeed.

  • CJSHYY

I think he will in the future.

  • sport

Lamb barely gets any minutes yet he signed that 3 year big contract already, must really feel bad to be benched and DNP like that. Hope they trade him to a better team.

  • Ben Johnson

Doubt it, they gave Lamb a pretty big contract, and while Lamb is not a good defender, he’s still a lot better than Daniels, who is too undersized to guard anyone

  • CJSHYY

He’s not OK yet so I think he didn’t want to play either.

  • leeda harun

he knows that it is hard to succeed in the nba.

  • CJSHYY

He’s just vote for him. Too late it’s over.

  • Dorothy

I dont see any mod posting tonight

  • Ben Johnson

yup, the Mod at that “other” site lets that place be consumed by trolls….literally 80% of the posters over there are trolls

  • John Focker

Lamb may be on the trading block…

  • CJSHYY

They can trade him. Long contract to make player becomes asset.

  • leeda harun

dont think so.At this moment cliff really needs is more fire power from every player

  • leeda harun

it is a small market team but who knows if the coaches chose him as a reserve in asg

  • Ben Johnson

it’s just very surprising that Kemba decided to focus more on teamball while JLin sat on the bench…either Kemba doesn’t trust JLin to shoot, or he doesn’t want JLin getting any glory…either way, it’s not a good thing

  • leeda harun

    Still waiting for the highlights.

  • blubell

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The truth is Hornets has made less assists to cut down their TOs and there is less ball movements.
Kemba got to shoot about 30 shots, got fouled a lot and the ball is pretty much in his hand. While he got trapped he would make bail out passes and he needs people like T Daniels to make those shots. T Daniels is a pretty good jump shooter.

What was the excuse that Nic Batum gave the same statistics that Lin gave today. Was it a coincidence? Was Lin injured like Nic.
Anyway, it’s an ugly game that Hornets should have lost but the Magic imploded in the 4th Q. Clifford has been designing game plan for Kemba to pick up his stats before ASG. I still don’t think Kemba stands a chance though. He would’t be on the ASG at all because Kyrie, Butler, John Wall, Lowry, Jackson might probably got in ahead of him.

The Magic has lost nine out of the last 10 games and Hornets almost lost this game to the Magic. The Magic had lost to the 76ers too. The offense that the Hornets running couldn’t be effective with the Knicks. They’re more likely to lose the next game. The two labelled stars of this team are Walker and Batum. With Batum out, their only hope is on Walker making the ASG. Walker compiling unbelievable stats and the team has been sinking.

LIn only takes 6 shots. T Daniels and Brian Roberts took more shots than him. It’s all in the game plan. Your coach asks you to give up shots and if you don’t listen you will be benched. Walker can take as many as he wants because he is the offense of the Hornets. The others has to wait for his bail out passes.

  • blubell
  • Kwok Wai Lai

With his contract, there is no taker and there aren’t other incentives that Hornets could offer for the trade.

  • leeda harun

kemba is going for a record breaker.

  • leeda harun

Lln is part of the team win.Lin is happy so I am happy too

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Not even close when coaches know Clifford is making game plans for Walker to shoot more while the team has been sinking.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nic Batum had the same stats last game with Walker. Lin just takes up the role that Nic played.

  • Joe what do you know

He’s at his best when the ball is in his hand and have a decent and willing screen setter + a decent shooter. But the problem with the last few years of his career is that he often does not have both of these supporting casts on the court with him at the same time. Hornets have enough decent shooters on their roster but the big men in regular rotation are weak as… I just hope the situation does improve eventually. I can only hope…

  • KL

Honestly I think the all star votes have a bigger impact on the players’ psyche than we have realised. Thomas was the only one who voiced out his resentment but maybe many people feel that way. I can imagine Cho (or MJ?) telling Cliff, hey why is Kemba getting so few votes? Maybe everyday at practice was awkward. Imagine at the office being nominated for an award when the anointed team leader is not getting the same recognition.

Then I can imagine everything being tilted to help Kemba. 40+ minutes and the offence (and defence) being geared towards Kemba.

I think Kemba has played fairly well this season and definitely played well this game. (I think that has a lot to do with Jeremy and Batum though). But he is not a proven winner at the NBA level yet. So I don’t think he deserves the All Star nod.

But Lin personally and team wins are definitely suffering as a result. I think Lin’s latest tweet is his recognition that he has to pay homage to Kemba before the team can move forward.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Are you aware that there are more negative postings from people using Lin’s name. Linsanity 2, Lin Win, LinMad. Frequently those postings couldn’t be responded because they aren’t active.

  • John Focker

The Charlotte Bobcats own the All-Time 5th (23) and 20th (18) longest losing streaks in NBA history under Kemba’s leadership. So what does Charlotte do? Give him a 4 year 48M contract.

    No excuse!

  • leeda harun

Mj is the owner. He chose kemba.

  • KL

Kemba is not a winner at the NBA level. He has good moves to get himself shots but the rest of his game is lacking.

  • John Focker

Yeah, MJ also chose Kwame Brown…with top draft, ahead of Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, and Tony Parker, just to mention “a few”.

    Goes to show you…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

At present it’s fair to say Hornets can’t compete with any NBA team, not even the 76ers with Kemba running the offense like today.

  • KL

For all those talking about how MDA’s system makes every PG look good, let me point out an important difference. Whilst PGs playing in his system would have good stats, they are not necessarily winners. Just think of the Lakers and Kendall Marshall or the Knicks before Lin or currently the Sixers and Ish Smith. It is just an offensive system that has certain advantages and disadvantages. Defence is also another important variable.

As far as I know, only 2 PGs have been real WINNERS with MDA’s system. Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin. And we all know what happened to Nash after he joined Kobe and the Lakers.

  • NONONO

    Any update on Lin?

  • blubell

    Have you tried refreshing?

  • leeda harun

It is his team..doesnt matter what we think.his advisers ddint do a good job too

  • leeda harun

    nothing yet.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The success of any player depends on the role that he is given. Lin arguably is the most versatile players in the team. If he couldn’t even succeed in the role he is given today, no other Hornet player could. T Daniels and Brian Roberts aren’t given the roles that Lin is given. So the comparison is a fallacy by itself. Comparing Walker with Lin right now is meaningless.

  • bolero

they are pushing Kemba for the AS reserve ..lol And to get ready for the AS next year..

  • John Focker

Which begs the question, who hired the advisers?

  • leeda harun

hornets is desperate for a recognition..I dont like it because the fans already vote the players they want to see in the asg.

  • NONONO

Without MKG,Batum,Cody ,AL and with limited Lin and LAMB,,,, Hornets beat Orlando, wow . Not sure Lin and Lamb will be healthy enough to be effective tomorrow. But the teams need big help.

  • LinMad

since when did I post something negative about Lin? I always support Lin. Don’t put me in the same category as Lin Win. I disagree with him a lot. Same with Linsanity 2.

  • leeda harun

Ha ha john…i think you need to take a breather…lol

  • John Focker

    You’re absolutely right! LOL

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Magic has lost nine out of the last 10 games and it has just lost to 76er. If Hornets was against the 76er today, Hornets would lose too.

  • leeda harun

Knicks lost the game today. Let see if hornets can pull another win tomorrow

  • BobbyH

Can you guess who is who worst 8 games in terms of FG% for season so far? Hint: 2 all stars and 2 players on Hornets.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Knicks lost to the Clippers which could easily beat the Hornets.

  • I didn’t watch the game or keep up with all the posts during the game. But did Lin gain another injury or re-sprain his ankle? He’s played pretty well in recent games, and I think he might’ve just had an off game today.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin took the role from Batum and he played just like Batum did with Kemba taking 28 shots today. Lin only takes 6 shots today.

  • BobbyH

I think it is more than that. New injury that we don’t know? He seemed not looking to score tonight. Something was off.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    That is not Kemba Walker.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Clifford still plays him!

  • kauaiblue

  • kauaiblue

  • kauaiblue

    What does this mean?

  • webattorney

Mr. automatic from corner 3s. Makes 30+ points look so easy.

  • webattorney

I don’t see Hornets making playoff no matter who is leading them mainly because their bigs don’t play like bigs, and also because they rely too much on 3s when they don’t have good 3 point shooters.

  • nodomo

Jeremy would have started the 4Q because Clifford planned to rest Kemba to start the 4Q. But Kemba told Cliff to keep him in….which means Jeremy sat instead. Then that lineup of Kemba, Roberts, Daniels, Hawes, Williams got hot so Cliff stayed with them for the rest of the game + OT.

Frustrating to see as Jeremy might have played an important part of the comeback. Kemba was clearly gassed at the end, had the ball stolen twice and missed the game winning shot in regulation (again).

  • webattorney

Troy is a good shooter but he doesn’t have the length of Lamb and Troy cannot create his own shots whereas Lamb can. That’s why Troy passes when he has no shots. Troy also doesn’t move as well without the ball, but Troy can knock them down when he’s open.

Clearly a foul on the first turnover by Lin. Defender stuck his leg out and tripped him. No call by the refs.

Curry is a once in a lifetime marksman. So talented. I would love to see how he does in an archery or gun range too.

Every Lin fan should watch the recent bballbreakdown video of Stef Curry and Reddick. It was illuminating to see how even great shooters gets the help of their teammates to creat separation for them to take their shots. Lin on the other hand gets no help whatsoever from the Hornets or Clifford. Basically Lin gets scraps of end of clock passes or random accidents of ball movements.

What has been Lin’s saving grace is his own ability to make things happen by himself by his speed and quickness. Lin creates his own separation with no help from his teammates. With his ailing ankle, Lin’s speed is reduce to ordinary levels. He knows he can’t create separation with an injured ankle so he passes it off. If he was working with a coach that actually sets plays for his own players, Lin would be able to take easier shots. If he wasn’t playing as a SF against much taller opponents, he’d be able to get more shots off. The best Lin can do for the team is to not take bad shots. That’s why he’s being seen as passive.

IMO, Lin needs to stop playing for a week and heal his ankle. This team just doesn’t care about him. They only care about themselves.

Watching the game in Portland next Fri. How can I get to see Lin? Saw a lot of fans getting up close! Help! Thanks

    Post game interview

  • KL

I am sure Lin is happy with his votes. However I think it is likely that Kemba and the front office are upset at the lack of votes for Kemba. Historically this was Kemba’s best season in terms of wins and FG% (at the earlier stage). When it didn’t result in votes for Kemba I think they started to shake things up and the losses mounted.

  • Singapore BB Fan

Interviewer was too eager to ask a long list of questions without waiting for JLin to give his comments. Strange interview.

  • guest

I thought you’re intelligent enough to be different from dome others. SMH

  • adele

When I watched the game last night, I lost interest because its still Kemba running the show and we already know the outcome. Very predictable but this leaves confusion to the players. Why? One, Because Kemba has no court vision, so he can’t see who is the best player to take the shot in that position. Two, Kemba does not play defense. That’s why his team mates has to do most of the defensive work in the game. And most of the time, other teams have dirty players so it takes most of their energy and its hard for them to make their good form I their shooting. The mindset is not there anymore. They lose the confidence to shoot because ‘ Kemba does the shooting for them’. Three, Clifford obviously is not smart but he controls the playing time and the role of each player. Result? He is out-coached. He doesn’t have the guts to control Kemba. Although he can control all the other players. HE doesn’t know how to maximize the strengths of his players. If a manager does the work of a janitor, thats bad management. Four, losing games will take its toll on everybody. Not fun anymore. And the coach is still making dumb decisions or no decisions at all. Five, politics everywhere. From the front office, the coach, the refs and the whole NBA. So disgusting. But if you look at it like reading a book or watching a movie, you can only hope something better will happen someday.

  • Dorothy

I decided to do some math. Lin had 195,920 votes this year. I, myself, probably put in 5 votes/daily say just 30 days (which i know I voted the whole period with 2 days miss the most), that is conservatively 150 votes. Let’s see how many fans like me Lin needed to have 195,920 votes? 195,920/150=1,306 fans. There are not 1,306 Lin fans voted via multiple gmail accounts, text, IG, FB, QQ, Weibo to put in 5 votes daily for Lin? I don’t believe this. NBA definitely rigged the AllStar results.

  • adele

I understand that when Lin is not doing well in his games, most of us will just post other information under the sun, but we need to keep in mind that this is a Lin forum and we call ourselves Lin fans. We have to inform to other fans who just read, that Lin is a better player but not given the chance to play his strengths. Although he is given more playing time, most of the time he stood in the corner or do a lot of defense. But people and nba does not count those work speciallly if the team is losing.

  • adele

Acbc, I like your posts by the way. Keep it up.

  • Dorothy

Mod, please ban Lin Win permanently. It is a shame someone would do something so extreme to hang in a Lin fan site and pretends to be a Lin fan and even uses Lin’s name. If you read the posts he replied to me (he delayed replying some of my old postings, I guess to avoid others reading it and realizing he is a troll) it became obvious he is a troll.

  • Phillycheese

Then Lin better start off hot himself rather than trying to get other guys going. He is SG and he needs to get hot right away. He took it easy for 3 quarters in this game and then didn’t get to show his true worth later on.

  • Lin Win

I haven’t broken any rules. Just because I have a differing opinion doesn’t make me a troll. You really need help getting all irritated by someone whose just putting his opinion on a matter.

  • Dorothy

Really? This is a Lin fan site, if you are not a Lin fan, you do NOT belong here.

Mod, please go back and exam what Lin Win has written and read the whole context.

  • Lin Win

Lin fan site doesn’t mean no criticism towards him.
    Thanks for proving my point!
How are you no different from Kobe fans in Lakernation.

I’m not a Lin fan? haha shows you are probably a new fan of Lins.

  • Lin Win

Don’t really like how some fans are so biased towards Lin.

I’m a Lin fan but I’m realistic and fair! Lin didn’t impact this game as much as I know he can.

We were heavily at a disadvantage with so many injuries but winning this game was surprising to me when we were down 19 at one point.

I have to give credit to Kemba for not giving up and asked to stay in. I wish Lin could have that same attitude(not about this game)

Some fans are arguing that Kemba is ball hogging and not running an offense but I don’t agree. Kemba shot 50% at a high volume while having 8 ast so if he does it every game then I don’t much him taking 20+ shots.
Likewise if Lin had Kemba stat line this game, this site would have been a festival.

I hope some Lin fans here don’t turn into Kobe fans in Lakernations.

Lin even acknowledges that Kemba is an allstar so I hope some fans can agree with him.

  • Dorothy

Now that the posts are at the top of the forum and you try to act and behave innocently. What had you written last night, huh? (or even the replied to my post just now???)

  • Lin Win

They really need to get some of these interviewers with an English speaking exam. What a bad interviewer NONE of his questions were about the game.

  • Lin Win

Sorry I’m not going to waste time replying to posts when the person is so bias that they can’t view an opinion from a different perspective.

I don’t need to act all innocent, long time Lin fans know who I am but I can hardly say the same for you.

PS: This is my last post for you so stop replying to my post as well

  • Dorothy

You can try to behave innocently again, but I believe Mod will monitor your posts closely from now on. You better not show your true color again…

  • Dorothy

“Long time Lin fans know who I am”
Exactly, that is why many long time Lin fans calling you out as a troll last night. We are here longer than you and we have read your postings and became suspecious long ago.

  • kauaiblue

Please dont use “we.” I for one dont care about hornets… Its annoying. In my opinion, jlin does the dirty hard garbage man work for walker and batum… 30 minutes of sweat, blood, and standing around… boring and wasteful…

  • kauaiblue

Agreed. The other have a whole bunch of lin mads. The state of the union is not good… lol

  • kauaiblue

Agree with dorothy. You are a troll. Mod?

  • kauaiblue

Dorothy, lets get mod to ban his azz….

  • Lin Win

I have no problem with that but to go bashing about Kemba when he practically carried the game when we were 19 points down while shooting 50% isn’t right.
If you are honestly telling me that if Lin was the guy that had Kemba’s stat line you guys would bash Lin for being a ball hogger? No right? So why do it to Kemba?

  • kauaiblue

I had 5 friends vote for him everyday for like 2 weeks. 70 right there…

  • kauaiblue

No one cares cares about walker… in fact, walkers selfish play and utterly putrid defense unfairly and negatively affects jlins game…

  • kauaiblue

Didnt even watch bc i knew the outcome already… walker ballhogging show…

  • kauaiblue

    Agreed.

  • kauaiblue

Pathetic. I am no longer rooting for cavs.

  • kauaiblue

    Thanks!

  • Barry Allen

If that’s true, that is pretty sad. Not sure which posts you are referring to as he hides his history which seems fishy. Maybe take some screenshots for us next time.

Trolls who actually come to fansites to stir up trouble definitely have some deep seated issues, and may need some professional help.

  • Spot

    Pathetic.

Jeremy’s PPS are much higher than Kemba’s.

If you want Lin to score 20+points with 7 shots or without plays for him or without having touches we can’t do nothing.

Anyway Lin won. Again. And check last year Hornets’ record to see who’s the game changer. If you don’t know, Kemba was there, Lin wasn’t.

Bye troll. And learn to answer with stats, not with your views no one wants to know.

  • Lin Win

That’s great than Jeremy’s PPS is better than Kemba’s.

You forgot one thing though! Jeremy signed on a team KNOWING full well that Kemba is going to be the first scoring option.

I never liked Jeremy signing onto the Hornets because I know Kemba is a shoot first point guard.

I’m not concerned about Lin’s ppg but get this!

We all said that the Lakers and Houston treated Lin like garbage(I agree as well)

“half season has passed, lin only has 4 games that he had 5 or 5+ assists, only one game with 7 assists, three games with 5 assists… this is so not like lin… it is pathetic…

Lin has 36 games with 5 or 5+ assists in lakers
Lin has 24 games with 5 or 5+ assists in Houston Rockets 13-14
I don’t need to look at the numbers of 12-13 or 11-12, there should be many games …..”

    Quote from Real Hornets GM

    There’s some stats for you!

  • webattorney

The fact is all NBA has Kemba types of players. It’s hard to play a SG without being a good catch and shoot player or having good bigs set picks for you. In Hornets, the bigs rather hit 3s than set good picks for Lin. Lin is not the type of player who can dart here and there and create spacing with his own handle to get off his shots. The problem is Kemba can, so he does this a lot. To be honest, he’s the only player in Hornets who can use his handle and dart here and there to get off decent shots, so on a so-so team with bad bigs, Kemba is going to be the king.

  • kauaiblue

Lin win is a loser. Along with sir charles, colin, jeffrey ludell, and a host of others… read their posts… they purposely skirt the line between being a fan and troll… so as not to be banned… they are no jlin fans… very strange… almost as if they paid to come to these jlin sites to cause disruption… just my observation and opinion… please dont ban me for this! Lol

  • kauaiblue

    Thats why the nba sux…

  • Dorothy

    Well said.

  • Lin Win

    sux……

  • Spot

So? Why should I care about a quote on RealGM?

Jeremy is not selfish. If you want a player who pads his stats there are tons in NBA.

Jeremy will never stop the flow of the game. Deal with it. You should know that if you are a Lin fan…

  • webattorney

24 secs time clock leads to this. as much as we extol GSW and Spurs’ team BB, guys who can create spacing and get off shots are going to run the show.

  • Lin Win

What? Why should you care about some quote? Those are stats from Lin’s season.
I know Jeremy is not selfish but I’m pretty sure he didn’t change from his Laker’s season to this season.
You guys were saying Byron Scott was the worst coach because he tied Lin down but looking at Lin’s assist is another story.

Half a season in and Lin only recored 4games with 5 or 5+ assist? The Laker’s roster was by far the worst compared to this roster yet Lin is still struggling in getting more assist.

Too bad GMs tend to look at stats from your past seasons to evaluate your value.

“Jeremy will never stop the flow of the game. Deal with it. You should know that if you are a Lin fan…”
Stop with these you shoudl know if you are a Lin fan thing. Really adds no value to your argument.

  • KHuang

Just like I predicted, Steve Clifford INCREASED Walker’s touches.

There wasn’t much Lin could do without the ball.

Because Lin wasn’t allowed to make plays offensively, Lin’s opponent could rest defensively to save energy for offense. And that’s why Lin’s man could hit every shot.

Also, Lin has been moved to SMALL FORWARD the last few games. The Hornets are going super small now with Lin having to battle small forwards every night. Playing small forwards does take a physical toll on Lin, especially on the boards where Lin is more than holding his own against much bigger players.

Lin IS fighting fatigue, both mentally and physically. But he still plays solid two way basketball and helped get the win!

  • Lin Win

Anyone that doesn’t agree with you and Dorothy are losers!
    That sounds about right!

  • kauaiblue

    Dude, ur a troll…

  • Barry Allen

Sadly, it’s expected when you’re paying Walker so much money a year. I hate them playing Lin out of position as well, or giving everyone ill defined roles which mucks up the offense. Lin I feel is the most impactful at the PG position. I think he’s a decent SG but he really shines when he’s the main PG. Clifford definitely has glaring holes in his offensive strategies.

  • Dorothy

After learning LBJ fired a good coach, I fully understood what Clifford is doing. It is a shame that NBA coaches have to appease their franchise players (even caliber like Kemba) in order to keep their jobs. When Lin is done with NBA, I am done too.

  • KHuang

    Accurate post.

With the NBA getting younger and dumber every year due to the influx of clueless early entry draftees AND clueless early entry international CASTOFFS who usually aren’t good enough to compete in their home leagues, every team is chock full of losers like Kemba Walker that cannot run a single traditional halfcourt set to completion on either end of the court.

Then there’s that Asian thing too where coaches and front office people (all of whom are older generation) cannot RACIALLY accept that Lin can actually make winning plays. That’s even more damaging than the Kemba types because coaches keep taking AWAY anything that works well for Lin. For example, Lin right now is playing SMALL FORWARD which Lin’s never done in his life.

  • adele

I second it. I don’t read his posts anymore. Just hit the down vote button. If you can’t say something positive and just focus on the negative and proudly say youre realistic, be real because you are in a Lin fan site not in the Hornets fan site or a Kemba fan site. You have no business in a Lin forum.

  • adele

Agree with Dorothy too. He is like a bad tomato among the good ones. He can contaminate the good ones.

  • KHuang

Lin is NEITHER a point guard nor shooting guard.

Right now, he is a low usage backup small forward who is banned from shooting. In essence, Steve Clifford has made Lin SHANE BATTIER (and Battier didn’t play SF better than Lin did, despite me being Battier’s biggest fan!)

Lin doesn’t even play the backcourt anymore. When he starts, PJ Hairston is playing the perimeter on both ends of the court. When Lin comes off the bench, Brian Roberts and Troy Daniels and Kemba Walker are on the court with him manning the two backcourt positions.

Playing small forward is completely new for Lin. This is something he hasn’t done before. It’s taking a few games for Lin to adjust to the completely different requirements of playing SF.

  • Dorothy

I think I know why Lin tweeted that Walker is an AllStar. Remember when Lin was at Houston, several months into it, Lin asked his fans to follow Harden so that Harden could have 1M followers? Later we found out Harden had ego problem and was jealous at Lin’s spotlight. I am feeling the same is happening with Walker. He is not happy Lin has so many (lol) votes and he did not. And knowing Lin, he would tweet something like that to smooth things out.

  • KHuang

In January 2012, I predicted on the other site that Lin would eventually see time at SF.

It took 4 years, but my prediction did indeed come true.

I personally like Lin at SG as opposed to PG. But that’s only if Lin actually has plays run for him the way ALL other shooting guards do including Lin’s teammates Lamb and Daniels.

  • Pete B

It’s so hilarious that Lin plays SF and Batum plays PG And then to top it all off Kemba Plays NBA scoring title champion right now
Clifford got the 3 year Extension for this potluck casserole

  • KHuang

    Correct.

    Lin’s all about team harmony.

But Lin’s learning that there is NO SUCH THING as team harmony in the NBA.

  • KHuang

Don’t forget Hawes playing SG, Zeller jacking 3 point bricks (mercifully stopped), and $21 million Jeremy Lamb being completely iced out of the rotation for playing too well!!

  • Dorothy

Totally, Lin is young, kind and sort of naive so he still holds hope in human which he should, but me? no…

  • Pete B

By banned from shooting he means weakside floor spacing 5 th option during plays, on a team with a scoring focused freelance Ball handler and contract year stat padders , also mix in NBA newbies like Lamb and Kaminsky who never use weakside offense swings or kickouts
3 pt happy center trying to salvage his NBA career

  • Pete B

This is how lin plays politics like it or not

  • Dorothy

Very true, and we Lin fans who follow him long enough smell things

  • Pete B

Omg Hawes played PG a few months ago Lol
    Of course turnover!

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Totally agree with you..I’m also a big Lin fan but don’t understand why Lin fan on here are strongly criticizing him. Without Kemba scoring, where exactly do they get the points?

Without Kemba, this team loses last night…Lin did not shoot well and turned the ball over a few times.

One thing I’ve noticed is the fact that Orlando did a great job packing the paint area every time Lin tried to attack the rim, so Lin was pretty much neutralized.

That left only Kemba Walker with the ability to shoot the team back into the game and he did exactly that.

Last night was the type of game where you needed Kemba to score 30+ if the Hornets were to win because of so many injuries….Lin is also streaky, so you could not overly depend on him to score big, so that left Kemba to play hero ball and score as much as possible.

  • Spot

Again? How can Lin have more assists if he hasn’t ball in his hands? That’s not stats you are talking about.

Look at Nash’s stats when he was with the Lakers and compared them when he played in Phoenix. Night and day. The answer? You should know that mr Basketball expert.

So, try again. Your should troll better than that.

  • Dorothy

I totally agree with you that you are a big Lin fan, but don’t lower yourself saying you are the same as Lin Win. If you read his posts closely, you will know he is a troll. You and Lin Win are completely different.

  • kauaiblue

    Lol

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

To be fair here, Lin is playing mostly off the ball, so not too many chance to assist.

Also, Lin has lost a lot of assist because of Hawes and Cody not finishing properly.

  • kauaiblue

    Lol!

  • kauaiblue

That thread was hilarious… clap clap…

  • kauaiblue

    Exactly lin win… exactly…

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I did not see his post that makes him a troll…can you point it to me.

As for Kemba, he is a ball-hog, but with so many injuries, Clifford really had no choice but to let him attempt to score as many points as possible because they simply did not have enough people capable to score.

Kemba can also create his own shot easily while Lin needs space and big men that can screen to create separation for Lin….so Kemba will always be able to shoot more because he can create his shot with no problem.

Maybe Clifford should had run more plays for Lin…Maybe he did but Lin had to pass because Orlando was packing the paint very well against Lin.

  • Dorothy

It is hard for me to explain. One needs to read the whole postings back and forth between Lin Win and veteran Lin fans to tell, but Kauaiblue said well when she/he tried to rebuttal Lin Win:

“Lin win is a loser. Along with sir charles, colin, jeffrey ludell, and a host of others… read their posts… they purposely skirt the line between being a fan and troll… so as not to be banned… they are no jlin fans… very strange… almost as if they paid to come to these jlin sites to cause disruption… just my observation and opinion…”

  • Barry Allen

I believe there is team harmony but it’s rare. Only people like Duncan find a way to make it work well but that’s because he’s selfless and huge.

  • Dorothy

KHuang, I remember that and thought you were crazy and too extreme at that time lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Love won’t go down easy. LeBron are losing his fans now. If Cav doesn’t win more game; LeBron will get the heat.

  • tom

So Lin was benched in favor of who? Brian Roberts? A 3rd stringer?
Lin really needs to get out of there
    This is toxic environment

  • KHuang

    Admin, please allow BeastmodeCowboy’s post.

“Dumb plays” were indeed made – and Lin wasn’t involved in them.

  • KHuang

Dorothy, you should STILL think that about me.

  • KHuang

    LET IT HAPPEN.

When other guys do well, it makes the Hornets feel as if they need Lin less.

If the Hornets traded or waived or bought out Lin, that would be AWESOME.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I would like to see how Walker get to be an All-star with the Hornets losing like h***. They have only picked up a win from a team who had just lost to 76er.

  • sws94

tom, you’re being alarmist for no reason. He had a bad game. So what. Good for Roberts. You know Lin starts tonight so there’s no need to be alarmist and over the top like you’re being.

  • tom

    Its only 2mil
    makes things easier

  • Brent Yen

    I think she STILL does…lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

When Kemba ever gets to be an All-star, we can officially pronounced the death of NBA.

  • KHuang

    “Bad game”.

    Speak for yourself.

    Lin for the WIN!!!

  • sws94

Yes, Lin had a bad game. Not terrible, but not good.

  • KHuang

    Lin isn’t naive at all.

He knows EXACTLY what is the score.

Lin is also a CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL who doesn’t let petty grudges from inferior players like Walker mess up his approach to the game.

I as a pro entertainer am constantly dealing with toxic personalities. It comes with the job, but even the most bitter dislike of my enemies doesn’t sway me one iota from
    GETTING THE JOB DONE.

  • KHuang

I enjoyed Lin’s two way team play and the effort and PRODUCTION that he put out.

This small forward thing is new to Lin, but Lin WILL adjust.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin will become the most versatile PG in the league playing 1,2,3 for a team at the same night.

  • Brent Yen

    Well said.

  • tom

He doesnt get play make at all dont see a lot PnRs
Clifford only wants him out there for defence
He is not a defensive player he can be productive

  • Brent Yen

    It has happened…because Jrue Holiday

  • KHuang

Lin’s no longer a PG on this Charlotte team.

  • sws94

There’s nothing toxic about Charlotte. There are far more games to play. He’s had solid games with the Hornets, just because he doesn’t do great in a game mean that we have to go into Charlotte is toxic mode. It’s not true. LA and Houston were toxic, Charlotte is rather healthy for him.

  • grover chang

Lin has said he follows God. Although the advice goes against worldly wisdom and Lin likely knows that (he is not stupid). He seems to choose to walk in faith in God’s advice. Some would call this naive. Some would call it faith. I don’t think of it as naive as much since he knows there is a consequence of his actions. As a Christian I could say following God’s advice does not always lead to worldly success but the point of obedience is not to rise in the world but to rise closer to God.

He is not holding out hope in humans. He is holding out hope in God’s love. For even Jesus loved man, but knew Man would still disappoint Him.

  • tom

Again hes not playing PG most of the time
He had a bigger role in Hou
LA was toxic but at least in Houston they needed him and he thrived in that system
    Also, they were actually winning

  • grover chang

I recall someone posted hornet fans would criticize Clifford big weakness was rotations and playing people out of position.

  • KHuang

    Tom’s not being alarmist.

This crazy role shifting of Lin to accommodate inferior players has been going on all season.

Lin’s now checking in for the injured SF Nicholas Batum.

Lin fans SHOULD BE ALARMED at the unending role shifting.

  • KHuang

    Completely disagree as usual.

Lin is underpaid, utilized strictly as a stopgap, and may not even be kept around this season.

  • KHuang

    Professional entertainers FAIL
MISERABLY when they allow petty grievances from off the stage to mess up their performances on the stage.

    I call those fools “unprofessional.”

  • tom

Lin has been inconsistent lately only scores in double digits every other game
This needs to change, need some consistency from him on that end so he can demand a better contract in the offseason
We all know he’s expendable on this team Clifford does not hesitate to bench Lin and play 3rd stringers over him
He sees Lin nothing more than just a role player who he can mess with however he pleases, he does not respect Lin’s game other than defence thats why he lets Roberts handle the ball so Lins gotta look out for himself and play better offensively

  • tom

It’s players league players have power

  • tom

He has been playing well offensively

  • tom

Not many players in the league can do that
Irving and Kemba are the only ones i can think of right now

  • grover chang

When I think of the Hornets as a whole, MJ is disappointing to me. I know superstar basketball players don’t always lead to success after the game, but how does someone so competitive as Jordan, so knowledgable about the game allow his team to look like this. He is the owner, the GOAT. This team is a reflection of him. Is this who Jordan is?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How could anyone expect consistency in performance from inconsistent roles? As long as it’s Lin, people can do that.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah. Lin has proved that he can be 1 and there is no point for Clifford to use him. I won’t be surprised if Clifford is going to use Lin to guard PF in the future.

  • sws94

He chose his salary. It’s not toxic. You don’t have Clifford throwing him under the bus, other players calling him bonehead and acting like dictators. You have the regular type of challenges on any team but Lin is treated well in Charlotte buy the fans, media, his teammates and even discussion forums. Whether he is around next season is irrelevant. Right now, this has been the least toxic team he’s been on and that includes the Knicks with the MDA/Anthony power struggle.

  • sws94

I don’t limit Lin to playing well as just a PG. He scored 35 in an OT game playing SG mostly. Batum regularly has 7-10 assist games as not the PG. He doesn’t need to be a PG to perform and right now, with his handles compromised by his ankle situation, Lin should not be handling the ball that much.

  • sws94

Nonsense. He started the game and every game that Batum has been out. Not Roberts, Daniels or anyone else. This is a complete overreaction to a coach using whoever he had on the team that had a run and cut down the lead. And it was ONE GAME where he did that as Lin usually closes.

Yes he is. Lin is one of the most solid and depended upon guys in the roster. He’s considered versatile and Clifford has shown he trusts Lin. Lin shouldn’t be trusted to handle the ball either as much as Kemba at least because Kemba is a better, more-secure, but not foolproof as shown yesterday with the 2 steals against him, ball handler.

  • tom

Well Batum gets 7-10 assists because he actually gets to handle the ball that much

  • sws94

It’s versatility and Lin is being used mostly off-ball. Because he isn’t PG the board says it is inconsistent but actually, Lin is being relied on to do most of the same duties game in and game out.

  • tom

    He is expendable
    Kemba and Batum are stars
the rest are expendable role players

  • tom

    to Clifford that is
and Kaminsky is in between because hes the future of this team

  • sws94

No. Lin handled the ball. Let’s stop making excuses when he doesn’t play well. Lin can move better off ball, just watch a game objectively and look at his ball movement off -ball compared to Batum, Daniels, Roberts, Kemba, any of them. Lin tends not to move as much. You don’t move as much, you don’t get the ball as much. When he moves, he gets it.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Seeing Kembaq trying to defend Oladipo in his game tying shot, Kemba took over the defending job from Brian Roberts and Roberts had to switch back but Kemba failed. Oladipo banked it in anyway.

  • sws94

Fine, if you think so. I see him as one of the top 5 players on the team. He’s replaceable, yes. But right now, he’s one of the most valuable men on the team. And MJ said the team had no stars. Kemba and Batum are lead players, not stars though Kemba has played like one this week and quite a few games he has.

  • sws94

That was a lucky shot. That wasn’t Kemba’s fault.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Oladipo was a heck of athlete. Kemba couldn’t defend him. Kemba has never been a good 1-1 defender.

  • tom

I never said he played well
Not even making excuses but hes not handling the ball a lot in general

  • sws94

He scored most on Lin last night. So let’s be careful. He’s a solid player but usually not that great a perimeter shooter.

  • sws94

He does enough to impact the game. He just attacks and creates from another angle. It’s always been Lin is best in the flow. He doesn’t handle pressure defense as well as other ball handlers so that’s why it makes sense to have Lin in the flow rather than being the primary ball handler. If and when Lin improves his ball handling, then the argument for him being PG is stronger. As of now, it’s not.

We are all amazed at how Curry scores so many easy points. What we don’t see is the way the coach and team sets up multiple screens for him to give him the split second extra time to make those shots. Stef is not the fastest or most athletic shooter in the NBA. He definately is the most accurate. His coach and teammates have learned through many seasons of built up chemistry to create the spacing for Curry to have enough time to get his shot away. Stef also has help his own cause by making his release so quick that he needs far less time than almost every player in the NBA. This has taken 3-4 years of positive reenforcemnent to make happen. What we see is the product of that team effort.

If you watch the Bballbreakdown video of Curry and Reddick getting touches after multiple picks have peeled off their defenders, you’ll see and wonder why Lin doesn’t get any of that type of help. Stef and his picks have developed so much chemistry that they can fake screens to draw players away.

Ever since the 35pt game against the Raptors, Lin has been frozen further and further away from offensive flow of the game. IMO, it’s a deliberate attempt to stop Lin from over showdowns get KW ever again.

Lin by his sheer presence on the court is a disruption of KW’s shine. He is a one year rental that they are going to abuse as much as they can. This is evident by the fact that last night KW began to share the ball once Lin was off the court. Lin is never playing his true role as PG, nor SG. He’s now playing SF on the weak side corner. We will never again see Lin get much action on offence again. Clifford has found ways to bury him on offence while using him to carry the weight on defence.

Right now, there is no equivalent exchange under this contract with Clifford. It’s true that a player has a responsibility to play hard for a team, but it’s also true that a team must provide a player equal opportunity to promote their own status on their own career. Right now Lin is being short changed by the team while they demand him to work even when he is injured. In a league that places so much value on offence, Lin is not even allowed to elevate his own value for future considerations. That is just wrong on so many levels.

For myself, this team is suffering the downward karma already as they continue to artificially try to beat Lin down in value. Clifford is being blindsided the fickle finger of fate and he doesn’t even know it.

I have just watched Kemba play time to time for several years. But from having watched him play a lot this year, he is a better offensive player than I thought (his shooting percentage went up I guess) BUT a worse passer than I thought.

  • webattorney

If he cannot be on the All-Star, why not help Kemba get on.

  • Brent Yen

He did shoot better this season…so I can understand how frustrated CLT fans were…

  • webattorney

When I said “Kemba types of players”, the players who will take it upon themselves to shoot a lot. I mean, you and I know Kyrie would be shooting 30 shots every game were it not for LeBron. IT can dart here and there with ease.

  • webattorney

I am not biased towards Lin at all even though I follow (or used to should I say) his games. I give him props on his strengths and I criticize his weak points. For example, one thing I don’t understand about Lin’s BB game is I would have thought an Asian-American player would be a great shooter and dribbler because he could practice shooting and dribbling day and night on his own due to his discipline, sort of the way Asian women players are dominating LPGA. But Lin is playing pretty well despite all obstacles and weaknesses — I find that kinda amazing.

  • Uh-Oh

This is so on point!!! Agree tremendously!

  • webattorney

If Roberts played in place of Kemba, Hornets would be even worse. Now, I am the first to admit that Kemba over hogs the ball, but he can’t help it if he’s a lousy passer. This is on Cliff, not Kemba. Lol

  • webattorney

Let’s stay away from personal attacks unless he attacks you first. Lol

  • new NYK game thread

    http://www.jlinportal.com/g44-nyk-cha-game-thread/

In an amazing 19pt comeback, Kemba led the Hornets to beat the Magic with 40pts/9asts/7reb in a 120-116 OT Win
    – Kemba/Hawes/Roberts played so well to lead the comeback. Their teamball resulted in Hawes wide-open 3 to retake the lead 118-116 that Magic never recovered
    – JLin didn’t look like his aggressive self to finish with 7pts/4asts/1reb/3TOs in 30 min (2-6 FGM, 1-2 3FGM). He lacked the energy to jump high to fight for rebounds as he has done consistently in past games. Perhaps it was related to his bad ankle. Let’s hope he can bounce back against the Knicks tonight
Will the Hornets play inspired teamball after the amazing win ? It’s wonderful to see how all the teammates were fired up. JLin was so happy to congratulate Kemba, Hawes and Roberts even though he didn’t play a part in the comeback. That’s how a team-ball should be

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that gets to be 100% healthy soon and will have a chance to be the playmaker to help the Hornets to win

  • webattorney

I give props to Kemba for improving his shooting though. He must have wanted to out-shoot Lin when he found out Lin was coming here.

  • tom

Because Lin is not the shooter Curry and Redick are
Also Charlotte bigs are bad in general they cant set proper screens

  • webattorney

Looking at Hornets record now, it’s about right at the level I thought they are, in between MIL and Magic. Lol I also thought Knicks had decent talent and potential.

  • tom

Oladipo is a very good player
Very athletic he was shooting well last night
It’s not like Lin’s defence was so bad he had a career night
He was just hot and Lin didnt do a good job on him either though
Brian bothered him more last night but its whatever guys get hot sometimes

  • Brent Yen

IDK, I think he just benefited from having Lin and Batum who open up the space for him.

  • webattorney

I am the first one to say that despite Lin’s not so good handle and current shooting percentage and other factors, I find it amazing that Lin is scoring 12 PPG on 26 or 27 minutes even when he plays tough D. I have had no reason to change my prediction that Lin will (or can) average 17/7 for season if he plays as a ball dominant PG 34 minutes per game. Where I differ from some Lin fans is that I absolutely do not believe Lin will average for the season 20/10.

  • Spot

Kemba has not improved at all. It’s just opponents can’t leave Lin, Batum or Lamb wide open.

When Mkg comes back other teams will know MKG can’t hit from distance and will double Kemba and game will be over again.

  • webattorney

His 3s shooting seem to have improved.

  • Brent Yen

from less attention from D I assume. I did not check the numbers…just trying to guess here

  • sws94

Had nothing to do with Lin. He just got in the gym and improved his game just like a lot of other NBA players do.

  • BobbyH

Great post. I have the same thought that Hornets FO/Coach begin to find ways to hide Lin’s true value, avoiding Lin outshining Walker. It is the same political stratagem all over again since Melo’s doing.

That’s why most of fans here hope Lin can re-join MDA and get a fair chance to compete.

  • Briiick

Agreed. After Lin’s 35pt game against the Raptors, KW has been taking 20+ shots every game and playing the losing game. This must be approved from above because no one in Hornets is complaining about the losing streak.

  • Lin Win

You’re now arguing that Lin doesn’t have the balls in his hands BUT you said Byron Scott was the one that treated Lin like trash and tied him down.
How could Lin in half a season only have 4 games wit 5 or 5+ assist?
You really need better arguments instead of ones with no stats to back it up.
You’re telling me now that Byron’s system is a better fit than Cliffords?

  • Lin Win

I admire and respect how you compliment and give credit when it’s due! I can’t say the same for other people though!

  • adele

    Thank you for posting this.
