G41 UTA @CHA Game Thread

Both Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets have 18-22 record but the Hornets have lost 9 out of 10 games while the Jazz split 6-6 in the last 12 games.

The Hornets desperately need to win but will their defense hold?

Jeremy Lamb is still out for the game so they will lack some firepower for the Bench Force 1.

JLin had a glimpse of Linsanity leading 7-0 run in the 4th quarter as the PG. Will he have another chance? Who will be the big men who can run PnR with him?

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that heΒ stays healthy and will have a chance to be the playmaker to help the Hornets to win

Another day, another game, here’s to hoping…

  • for a full dose of Linsanity to help the Hornets to win

  • blubell

    1st to say 1st? lol

  • Arsenium12 .

Last game was not the first time that Jeremy has collided with a Milwaukee Bucks player. Three years ago (Jan 3, 2013) he ran into Larry Sanders …

And the scapegoating and throwing one under the bus begins…

  • golfhacker

You’re awake now. Might as well stay up for the game πŸ™‚

He says it is an indictment on him. Coach taking responsibility here.

  • NONONO

I have a dream — not for Clifford, not for Hornets. It is only for Jeremy Lin – become a starting PG next season.

  • donsmacau

So Clifford’s major change coming, appears to be not very major.

Well if he “take guys out earlier” and replaces them with JLIN as playmaker it would at least be a first step.

  • blubell
  • sws94

Transition period and Lin is grounded. Good stuff.

  • donsmacau

JLIN’s shot will be fine; if Curry and all collegiate women can make the shot work then so can JLIN.

Ankle pain and swelling contributing factor on shots – will resolve when fully healthy.

  • Briiick

I am glad JL likes his new form, I like it too. It just lookes much easier and more natural for him to do.

  • cdblue10

what time is the game today?

  • NONONO

    now

  • cdblue10

    thanks

  • sws94

He’ll adjust to matchups. When Clifford makes a team comment it is a team comment, not a JLin comment unless he specifically mentions Lin. He did say Lin can compete with starters. But he’s not in the lineup because he’s undersized defensively at the 2 against some teams and he doesn’t want to have different starting lineups per team they are facing.

  • NONONO

I am glad Lin said he needs to shoot more

  • donsmacau

Kemba is undersized at the 1 but JLIN is not luckily today the Jazz has a small PG so KW will probably do no better/worse than he usually does on D.

Hornets will likely continue to bleed today because the Jazz are big none <6.8" (apart from PG) and Cliff has shown no ability to adjust to mismatches.

  • cshot

    stream not working?? πŸ™

  • tom

So will Lin see less or same amount of PT?

  • NONONO

    no dream

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

what’s the difference between his old form and his new form?..any pic here..I frankly don’t see much difference on ow he shot when he was with the Lakers in compare to now.

  • Linsanity2.0

    best link please

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Michael Jordan is at the game today..I guess he wants to get a close look at how bad things have been…..Maybe his presence on the bench will rejuvenate them to play better.

  • DX

I didn’t see any change for starting link up.

  • Linsanity2.0

Hey can you send that link again please? thank you

  • Linsanity2.0

Can you send that NBA TV link again

  • NONONO

If they lost, MJ would do more than just a speech for team

  • DX

Kemba want to show something to MJ.

  • Rick Johnson

Is that MJ in the red shirt at the end of the bench?

  • Alain Gervais

    substitution seems the same

  • sws94

    Less motion, lower release.

  • heart

Paraphrase: Jazz announcer said I don’t know if PJ is quick enough to stay in front of Hayward.

  • heart

Anyone watching the game w/me? So quiet here…

  • cshot

gordon hayward is a beast. i think he should be an all star

  • cshot

    me!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Yes I am

  • Alain Gervais

    jeremy playing less today

  • Epie

That’s the big change Cliff was talking about

  • DX

    I think so.

  • tom

oh wow clifford is not very smart i see

  • Alain Gervais

    maybe afraid of gordon haywards

  • Dorothy

OK, then I am rooting for Utah

  • cshot

    jeremy!!!!

  • NONONO

Same old – Kemba could shoot the team out of the game

  • cdblue10

Most of Utah shots are being created to passing and assisted FG’s while Hornets are more on 1 on 1 basketball.

  • DX

    Lin!!!!!! no Dragon Z today?

  • DX

Damn, NBA must warn him about the hair.

  • Alain Gervais

kemba on pace for 28 shots

  • JLin laying low with the #MopHair to reduce more accusation of Mohawk being a weapon

  • blubell
  • heart

Paraphrase: Jazz announcers were looking forward to Lin’s Mohawk. One of them said Lin has one of ‘best’ hairdo in the NBA today.

  • blubell

FGA – Kemba 7 vs rest of the team 8

  • tom

    So thats the change
They are going big so less minutes for Lin from here on out
    Thats boring

  • Great pass by JLin .. Zeller couldn’t finish

  • Rick Johnson

Zeller too slow to get to the rim.

  • NONONO

i see Jordan keep shaking his head

  • CaliUSMC

Whoa the game is on so early. Dont you people work at all?

  • Epie

Ah come on Zeller that’s your 3rd today

  • MLK Holiday πŸ˜€

  • CaliUSMC

    I’M WORKING!! ;(

  • blubell

Pfff. work. never stopped me from supporting JLin lol

  • cdblue10

As long as Kembal will play more than 36mins the result most likely is not very appealing. The problem with Kemba as the primary will not benefits other players from Hornets.Yes,he is making shots but most of them are just through 1 on 1 and it will bury other team mates talents for not being used in full potential.

  • heart

Lin kept passing instead of looking for his shot…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

..and they kept missing open shots.

  • Alain Gervais

I don’t get this guy kemba. You have 18 and what has it gotten us ……. a 1 point lead…..congratulation

  • Epie

    Multitasking

  • sws94

He didn’t touch that much and Kemba was hot. Lin will feed the hot guy.

  • Usually I am too but this year is special

  • DX

It’s good, he will shot when have good chance.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

How many shooters is Lin guarding?

  • that’s the Lindomitable spirit LOL

  • sws94

He’s a scorer, not much of a playmaker. In fact, he turns it over when he tries to playmake a lot.

  • tom

    2 ish

  • CJSHYY

    By order I guess….

  • sws94

3 on that possession. Great job.

  • Hope

    Zeller can’t jump.

  • DX

Any one missed guarding, there will be Lin’s fail.

  • MJ should be shouting, “Great defense, Lin!” to inspire other Hornets

  • Epie

Kemba is following MJ’s footsteps..but Kemba is not MJ. Meanwhile Kerr’s Warriors are killing it. Team play is the key.

  • sws94

Cliff wants Lin to shoot. No opportunities yet. Had a great assist opportunity but Cody isn’t finishing today..

  • cdblue10

The problem on this offense will soon eventually shows up during end games because most of the players are already frozen and will just wait for every Kemba’s move to shoot the basketball.

  • blubell
  • CaliUSMC

    Is that MJ in red?

  • Linzen

    Me too! πŸ™

  • golfhacker

    Yes

  • CaliUSMC

    Thanks

  • wow ,, Frank didn’t even jump to rebound

  • CaliUSMC

    2222222222222222

  • Lin for 222!! YEAH

  • CaliUSMC

    ;(

  • cdblue10

This is a crappy offense, most are just force shots and 1 on 1

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin should’ve gotten 5 assists. SMH.

  • tom

    Batum chucking dumb shots again

  • hmph .. so many blown assists for Lin

    PJ rushed the 3

  • heart

NOTE: NB is the PG in this stretch while Lin is in w/him.

  • NONONO

Poor Lin`, passing so many good ball and no one can score!

  • Hope

Lin runs better today. His ankle healed.

  • Alain Gervais

it looks a bit 60-40 batum

  • DX

    Low IQ teammates.

  • sws94

No. Lin is the PG. Batum ran the ball a few times but Lin is the PG.

  • cshot

    those blown assists

  • sws94

    Lin is the PG.

  • cdblue10

    Like a handoff PG

  • cshot

happy w/jeremys play so far. just bad teammates lol

  • sws94

Lin is playing well but I’d love to see him look to score some more.

  • Alain Gervais

    i agree.

  • blubell

    2 pts, 3 rebs.

  • yes.. he needs to score more to draw D more

  • sws94

He’s fine. Lay back and enjoy the game.

  • I am The Jason

    Free all week. Thats cool.

  • heart

The rock passed back to NB to initiate offense.

  • Hope

P Ewing walk by lin without hifi

  • Good offensive rebound by Frank.. a chance for And-1

    Great possesion by Hornets

  • golfhacker

    He didn’t high-five any player.

  • blubell

    Finally, an assist!

  • CaliUSMC

    2pts / 4reb / 2ast / 1stl

  • cdblue10

Defense is better w/ these 2nd units

  • it must be depressing working as an assistant coach for a team that MJ owns

  • Alain Gervais

    i agree

  • Epie

    DUNK??

  • blubell

    back to back assists!

  • tom

Quite boring when its all Kaminsky

  • I am The Jason

Frank doing work in the paint. I need to see more of this.

  • good for Frank.
He needs to be more physical

  • sws94

Lin is elevating Kam’s game right now. That’s what a good point does.

  • Epie

    Refreshing lol

  • Rick Johnson

Frank will be something when he bulks up.

  • DX

    +10 Lin is the highest

  • blubell

    2 pts, 4 rebs, 2 asts, 1 stl, 9 mins

  • sws94

    Doesn’t matter.

  • JLin helped to get the Tank going

  • Rick Johnson

Lead went from 1 to 9 since Lin came in and Walker sat.

  • Acbc

It’s just bad coaching to not try to elevate you’re team with positive energy. A good coach should not just teach, they must support the team spirit as well.

  • Epie

Yeah, but Lin is doing what a good PG is supposed to do

  • cdblue10

    That’s a travel

  • And highest +8 tied with Hairston

  • tom

Yah I’d rather see Lin get himself going then this kid

  • cshot

cus lin does work when he plays d

  • Alain Gervais

And like that 2 point game

  • sws94

Lin is elevating his play. Lin is well covered, but still doing his job at point. I like his PG play today.

  • tom

Lin out and Daniels still in
    yup CLifford is an imbecile

  • Kemba passing = unforced TO = heart palpitations

  • sws94

He’s an imbecile if his moves lose him the game and only so.

  • DX

    Lin is leaving for sure.

  • cdblue10

I think that was Clifford meant when he said he will implement some change to take off some Lin’s minutes…lol

  • tom

    Yup

  • cshot

    u serious

  • sws94

We always say the same negative things here. Lin is one of the top 5 players on the team. Cliff is not looking to cut his minutes.

  • tom

Oh yah should just get traded to a better team and play 15-10mins a night there

  • heart

What kind of changes is this? Hope Lin just shoot to get stats when he returns. So much for team ball…only him applies.

  • Dorothy

    Goooo Jazz

  • CJSHYY

Ya! To replace w taller guard….

  • NONONO

    LP down?

  • cshot

works fine for me. trial though

  • DX

Since Kemba plays so well on shooting, so he should be SG. Let Lin be PG.

  • blubell
  • sws94

See you guys later. Lin played very well, Cliff is going with matchups and let’s see what develops rather than think he’s so against LIn. He’s not.

  • tom

If Lin is gonna be a real back up, no need to be here
He can do it somewhere else, a much better team
    Charlotte is a waste

  • Lin is tied with highest rebound (4 w/ Zeller/Marvin/Frank) and highest assist (2 w Batum)

  • blubell

Will he outrebound his own bigs again? haha.

  • blubell
  • Clifford is definitely experimenting.

JLin is playing well as PG but the concern is he might have limited min if he doesn’t score more.
Let’s hope he scores more in the 2nd half

  • cdblue10

Of course Kemba won’t shoot that,it will ruined his FG %

  • tom

    Daniel aint doing anything
but hey thats better than Lin right?
CLifford is an imbecile whos beyond saving

  • kauaiblue

    Hows he doing??

  • CJSHYY

Bc they want someone is taller… I think when Lamb is back he will be the guy to close the game not Lin or Daniel.

  • Alain Gervais

so how did substation change. <ore minutes for the starters lol

  • cshot

he’s doing pretty good. just limited min cus cliff

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lol, Kemba gave the ball up with .5 sec left to protect his shooting percentage.

  • Alain Gervais

so how did thing change from last game. More minutes for the starters

  • tom

    Cool
Then the Hornets aren’t worth following

  • honestly, playing next to Kemba will give anyone almost nothing πŸ™‚

Let’s see how Clifford uses JLin in the 2nd half.
Kemba is hot they rode him but it shouldn’t happen for the whole game at the expense of team-ball

  • Alain Gervais

The defense and the offense is better with Lin so i don’t get the coaching

  • CJSHYY

    So far looks like….

  • heart

KW has taken 13 shots already after 1st half. I think he’s going for 20+ shots today since it’s a home game in front of MJ.

  • CJSHYY

Bc they said they want someone can guard small or tall guard… Lin is not tall enough…smh!

  • Alain Gervais

    Thats expected.

  • tom

He rides with Kemba even when hes like 2-12
Its fine but why let Daniel who has done nothing finish the half instead of Lin?
Thats just pure stupidity or some hidden agenda

  • LAJane

Seems to me that anytime they manage to get as much as a 10 pt lead in any game, Cliff starts experimenting. Does he want to give game time to sharpen up developing players? Does he want to see who can pull weight if he ever needs to plug injury holes? It just all seems unsure, scattered, maybe not exactly desperate but sort of in that direction?

  • CJSHYY

That’s his player of course… smh!

  • Politics. $12M vs $2.3M

Unfortunately Clifford is not brave enough to rock the boat
Kemba took his side last year so he won’t bench Kemba, even if he’s not a good PG

  • tom

    Daniels is?

  • Alain Gervais

troy is 1 inch taller then lin

  • CJSHYY

Only 1 in taller? Well, that’s taller than Lin anyway… smh!

  • that was curious for sure.
Daniels 0-2 shooting. He shouldn’t play much if he can’t make 3s

  • cdblue10

I think he is just clueless with his players skills and abilities

  • NONONO

I lost my internet connection for 6 mins. what was the score when Lin got subbed?

  • tom

Clifford has been limiting Lin’s minutes lately
If you want height put PJ or Kaminsky in
Daniels over Lin just doesnt make any sense at all

  • 40-35

  • heart

Exactly. Perhaps his objective is to let his core players get the credit for the win if they can hold on to it. Often times, things turn out differently.

  • cdblue10

Trade Kemba to a bigs like Chandler or Gobert and fire Cliffford as a coach then this team will instantly a playoff team in the East

  • Epie

Cliff’s decision making : Frank is too hot, to the bench.

  • tom

Clifford obviously has no respect at all for Lin
I’m all for Lin sitting out a couple of months now
No need to sweat for this incompetent coach and boring team
Should have just signed with GSW and played his 10mpg

  • NONONO

    Thanks.

  • Sophie Paris

Yea I’m afraid they lose the lead like always xD

  • heart

Cliff is stuck to his script. He seems to not able to make adjustments according to the in-game flow. No “feel” for game flow…

  • Clifford experimented with these backcourt lineup:
    1. Kemba-Lin
    2. Lin- Batum
    3. Kemba-Troy

What helped so far is the big frontcourt with Zeller/Frank/Marvin who managed to score inside

Hornets took fewer 3s, only 12 out of 40 FGA.
Utah even had more 3FGAs at 16

So Clifford tried to find balance scoring to score in paint to give more spacing for shooters
The past few games the Hornets have shot too many 3s

  • Arsenium12 .

    via Ian Begley (ESPN)

Sixers associate head coach Mike D’Antoni on wanting to coach again: “I think every coach wants to eventually. It’s not like I go home and think about it. It’s not on my radar. If it happens it happens. I’m very happy doing what I’m doing right now.” What about the opening in Brooklyn? “I don’t know,” D’Antoni said. “Like I said, I’m day to day. I get so old, I just kind of live, do what I do and I’m happy.”

  • cshot

honestly i think he would get a decent 15-20mpg at gsw. sigh this team is just as frustrating

  • CaliUSMC

    BROOKLIN…. anywhere but here

  • tom

    Pure waste

  • sws94

Yup. The team is leading so his moves have worked out ok for this team. Kemba is really taking most of the 3s and made them.

  • cdblue10

It will happen eventually, whether it’s 76’ers or Nets

  • Here’s what I think for Lin:

He was tremendous with drive/penetration to find space for big men to score inside to give Hornets the lead
But 2pts with 1 FGA might make him look ‘passive’

He needs to pass 2x and score 1x ratio in order to play a lot of min.
I hope he finishes with at least 10FGA

  • sws94

Can’t see how anyone can complain about Lin’s minutes on the Hornets. Have you forgotten Lin’s had so many minutes before on this team in recent games. The coach is trying to win. Playing Lin a lot of minutes hasn’t brought that about and Lin’s usage is part of pairing players, not just cutting him out. Anyway, the game isn’t over yet.

  • Kemba is hot so I understand they’re riding him but they shouldn’t rely too much on him

It can come and go easily

  • sws94

I agree. I liked when Kemba was out the ball moved everywhere and Kam was featured inside so much.

  • tom

I don’t know anyone can defend Clifford at this point
Daniels over Lin is pure humiliation and stupidity
Lin shouldn’t play for a coach that doesn’t respect him
    This is sickening

  • LinMad

Why did Lin play so little today? Was Cliff angry at something? His boxscore looks solid.

  • tom

at this point sixers and nets are better than this craphole

  • tom

    He does not respect Lin
    Thats all

  • Epie

    Cliff’s experiment 2.0

  • adele

The ASG voting is not done yet. After the voting, for sure there will be changes.

  • Promo Sports World

    U haven’t watched any games

Jeremy gets a lot of playing time

Stop commenting without any real perspective

  • LinMad

are we back to kemba ball? I missed half the game but looking at box score, Kemba is taking most shots.

  • DX

Jazz is so bad on O. Will be 10 lead if change to any team inside 10.

  • LAJane

Y’know, I can’t go with this “no respect” story at all. Just the opposite. Not in terms of glory opportunity given, but certainly in terms of pull-the-pot-out-of-the-fire, get back in the game utility, he totally respects and depends. Not what WE want, but it’s there. There are all usual toxic NBA themes at work here – star owner whose ring-winning style is no longer what wins for teams, “star” player who isn’t panning out but no one can let go yet, teammates on disorganized team who are driven to squeeze their own next-contract shine out of every small opportunity (and fail).

If you don’t have that much respect you just smile and say “Third time’s the charm” – Mr. Kupchak. But you don’t have hours long phone conversations and the GM does not fly out to sign you. Respect. But no glory. He knew what he was hired for – the hope that a proven talented team player could somehow get the messy pieces glued together better. Coach and GM should not be using a player to do what is really THEIR job – get it together, use some discipline, grown their own.

  • tom

    Daniels over Lin
    thats it
some games he gets 30mins somegames he gets 15mins
    so much for respect

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    He’s more of expendable.

  • cdblue10

Wow it’s like Kemba wants to shoot the ball every possessions, this is the Hornets trademark and it won’t change anything as long as Clifford and Kemba is on the team

  • Promo Sports World

    Daniels gets lambs minutes

Jeremy if he took more shots you would be happy

    Chill out

  • Promo Sports World

It’s been like this for years nothing knew unless hornets land a superstar

  • tom

    Yah I would be happy

  • sws94

I know, over and over the same negativity? Why? Lin gets plenty of playing time. I don’t know why he hasn’t played as much today but it’s one game.

  • cdblue10

I can’t even enjoy the game although they’re leading

  • sws94

tom, just relax. Lin will play more. Probably a lot more in this game.

  • occupatio

even batum only has 6 shots.

  • LinMad

So Lin is back to 20 minute games?

  • sws94

Kemba is playing superbly. He has a few good assists too and his defense is halfway decent today.

  • CJSHYY

Looks like today… Hornets seems to back to old days… Kemba ball period. So far they win…So I guess Lin will not have too many playing time today.

  • sws94

Cliff not happy at all with PJ and not happy with Hayward’s 3. Nic didn’t get to him on time.

  • tom

This comes after he said changes are coming so its obvious Lin is the odd man out

  • Promo Sports World

    They’ve lost how many straight???

Rotations have to be adjusted somewhat

Let patterns emerge before the hysterics begins

  • LinMad

ya but I dont think this strategy will work every time. Cliff just got lucky today. Kemba shooting 10-15 is actually really good. But can you rely on Kemba to shoot 66% most games?

  • blubell
  • cdblue10

This is my only observation,it’s either Lin or Kemba to take the back seat to win more games because definitely they can’t play together on the court because it’s just a big liability on defense.

  • sws94

No its’ not. Not at all. He’s looking at matchups. He also said Lin can compete with starters. He didn’t say that about anyone else. And he also started Lin with Batum out.

  • Linzen

Can’t watch the game… can only come here to get a feel of the game.
From your feedbacks, it sounds like our boy is not doing too good. πŸ™

  • Rick Johnson

Let his ankle heal if he’s going to play so little.

  • sws94

No. He didn’t play that much yet and when he was in he played very well.

  • LAJane

He’s doing great, when he’s in.

  • CJSHYY

Someone said LP is free today? Check it out.

  • LinMad

and that’s why Frank shouldn’t dribble so much. Same with other bigs.

  • Epie

Yup, we are lucky Jazz is shooting so poorly.

  • Linzen

    At work! :(((((((((((

  • LinMad

Our bigs are trying to penetrate but they are failing. The ones who should penetrate are the guards.

  • LinMad

    Lin in.

  • tom

He said Lin can compete when they go small

  • Rick Johnson

Help make up for starters lazy defense

  • sws94

Kemba penetrates ok. Gobert is a solid rim protector when he’s in.

  • golfhacker

    Guarding Hayward.

  • DX

Kemba want to show Mj he is the No. 1 in team, not Batum.

  • blubell

    Nice D

  • Promo Sports World

    Great D

  • Linzen

    Thanks! Good to know.

  • Promo Sports World

Jeremy plays so hard on defense man

  • LinMad

    llol that was lucky

  • blubell

    Everyone gives up half way.

  • tom

    and that was before

  • LAJane

Don’t feel too bad. It’s no fun for us, but Cliff is taking the opportunity to thrash around experimentally with his rotations cause they’re far enough ahead, Kemba happens to be hot at the moment so free reign for hero-ball, and Lin is sitting a lot. OK with me his ankle gets extra rest.

  • Linzen

    That sounds good!
Come on coach, you want to win? Play Lin the whole 4th quarter!

  • LinMad

    how was that a travel?

  • LinMad

    3333333333

  • cdblue10

nice D on the other side then knock down that 3,that’s number 7

  • adele

We should understand why Kemba is getting more confident in his shots because he is given all the freedom and the minutes and he had free reign on the offense. He takes a lot of shots in every game and basketball is also a game of skills. The more you shot, the more points you will get. Its the law of averages. Also you gain more confidence and more skills as you play the game. Meanwhile, our Lin is not being used for his offense and play making as a PG. He is being used as a spot up shooter and has to play a lot of defense to help the stars. How can we expect him to have the skills in the game when his shots are limited and he will not be given minutes if he will not play defense? I read his interview, he is confused why he is not making his shots? He needs to understand his situation and I guess he is just being nice in his comments. He knows his role in this team. His confidence is not 100% because he is not being used according to his strength.

  • blubell

    Superb D and 3333333

  • Alain Gervais

Lin has played great on hayward

  • Promo Sports World

And yet he contributes every night

    Shows growth

  • LinMad

good D by Lin. Hes really hustling back for those transitions

  • Promo Sports World

    Hard matchup too

  • golfhacker

    Nice arc on that one!

  • cshot

put lin on hayward and good things happen

  • tom

Yep thats the change he was talking about

  • sws94

Kemba isn’t a bad player. He gets opportunities because he’s aggressive and not afraid to try to make big plays. Lin has that quality too, but doesn’t show it as often.

  • tom

    2 out of 10 games

  • LAJane

He isn’t used according to his strength, but that’s not exactly a new situation for him. I don’t think it affects his confidence at all. Confidence is one thing I don’t believe he ever lacks.

  • Promo Sports World

This is another game where some on the board will get mad but I see all the positives with Jeremys play and I think “he is making himself” even more flexible and valuable for the next contract

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You must be typing all that while Lin was on the bench or commercial. Lol

  • Sophie Paris

    Terrific!!

  • NONONO

Clifford’s major changes today is? Nothing. Kemba shoot a lot and Lin defends a lot. Same old same old

  • blubell

    Assist

  • LAJane

As always. Nobody mines more gold out of C*@p than he does.

  • Lin assist to Frank 3 =)

  • Dorothy

Sure, blame on Lin not showing it often, as if he had the same opportunities and supports as Kemba

  • sws94

Lin is looking for Frank this game.

  • LinMad

    Lin defending 3 guys lol

  • blubell

That’s actually improvement from guarding all 5 lol

  • sws94

Hawes was open and I think Lin intentionally didn’t pass to him. He doesn’t finish well.

  • Promo Sports World

Batum off one leg is a horrible shot

  • LinMad

lol did Hawes block out Lin when he was going for rebound??? HAHAHHA

  • tom

    Lin less minutes also

  • Acbc

In that case, kW should also play defence and SG as well to be a good player. It’s just flawed logic to ask Tom Brady to play some running back or wide reciever so that he could improve as a football player. It makes absolutely no sense.

  • heart

    Makes me laugh. Thanks.

  • LinMad

but its his signature French shot

  • sws94

I agree. He’s not playing well today. MIssed an open Lin as well.

  • cshot

are my eyes playing tricks on me? is jeremy rocking the d liliard 2s?

  • Promo Sports World

He never did that in Portland

  • golfhacker

    Batum not guarding anyone.

  • Promo Sports World

    Adidas fam

  • NONONO

I bet Clifford does not want to see MJ’s face right now. Utah, really?

  • sws94

Giving up too many rebounds now. Nic isn’t moving well. He’s not helping the second unit.

  • sws94

He’s no Nowitski. He’s really one of the few that can pull that shot off.

  • Promo Sports World

    Great shot for Troy

  • heart

All Star voting ends tonight. Hornets announcers are promoting him for All-Star.

  • sws94

    Yes.

  • adele

We have LP. I taped the game and I can go rewind and fast forward the game.

  • “Lin can’t save that (Batum) pass”

  • LinMad

    cause it was horrible

  • yes, announcer did say bad pass

  • Alain Gervais

Kemba should of gave it to lin. but it was a tough pass. Idk if he has enough vision to get it there

  • CaliUSMC

    Thought he said bad pass

  • JoeTeam

he said it was a bad pass. Are you saying Batum=bad?

  • Promo Sports World

    Too tight

  • DX

    The host said “BAD’ pass.

  • LinMad

Troy was the right pass cause he was opened

  • JoeTeam

    you nailed us all.

  • yes, I fixed it but Disqus didn’t show it right away

  • blubell

    Jeremy is playing so hard.

  • travis

Batum subbed for mistake that’s a first

  • Promo Sports World

    Giving his all

  • cshot

    did he get that steal?

  • sws94

Bad play there by Kemba. Proper play is to go to Lin for the layup. This team is a terrible fast break team.

  • LinMad

I still don’t see Batum as a max contract player the Hornets should chase after. They sitting on a gold mine with Jeremy Lin and it probably cost much less to keep Lin.

  • LOL ..no just typo

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You don’t take 3 on fast break, you go for easy lay up.

  • Alain Gervais

I would say Lins speed is at 70 percent

  • DX

4TOs for Batum now, who said he is a better facilitator?

  • sws94

Yeah, maybe. I thought he should have gone to Lin there.

  • tom

Houston was an elite fast break team
They made it all most every time
This team misses almost every tiem

  • cshot

    cus hes not lol

  • golfhacker

If Kemba had passed to Lin right away, Lin had a breakaway.

  • cshot

    Charolette Butterfingers!!

  • sws94

He is a good facilitator. Anyone can have a lot of TOs on any given day.

  • David Kim

    phil 109 vs knicks 113
    2nd over time..
    ish Smith 41min… 7-27 16 assts 14pts..

  • adele

Not the type of confidence when you’re given the free reign to shoot and can take a lot of shot attempts. He had a lot of confidence probably in MDA’s era but not in the teams and coaches after that. Any human being for that matter will lack the confidence if you feel that you are limited in the way you play your game or do your task/work.

  • sws94

    Certainly not 100 precent.

  • sws94

For a bunch of mistakes and ineffective plays.

  • sws94

    And?

  • Lin almost made the layup .. saw Gobert trying to block it

  • LinMad

Lin missed that layup, that was rare. He hit the middle of the rim.

  • Sophie Paris

    Omg game is getting closer

  • NONONO

Iin was looking pass first, and got into trouble

  • golfhacker

No idea what that shot was.

  • DX

Who is defend the open man?

  • LinMad

Some players are not guarding their guy.

  • Alain Gervais

he miss timed his jump. He is clearly not getting off the groundd as high as he is used to

  • LinMad

looked like Marvin let him shoot it.

  • JoeTeam

team is doing same thing as before. Just joined – what’s up with the ‘changes’? David Bowie is not with us, is that it?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    yep, that’s a layup straight,

  • Hope

    Lin out.

  • Sophie Paris

His ankle is bothering him probably

  • cshot

    looks like lin is out

  • Promo Sports World

    Players playing no D

Meanwhile ish smith is taking too many shots in this crazy Knicks game

  • LinMad

    u sure?

  • that could be for next season =) Lin would be 16asts 28pts

  • Alain Gervais

    we will see

  • sws94

That’s the power of the shot blocker. Lin got to the rim fine, just was too far under than he realized.

  • LinMad

If Lin is out the defense will break apart even more even though it’s broken.

  • Sophie Paris

    Hope not πŸ˜‰

  • Linsanity2.0

Lin missed point blank layup goddam

  • CJSHYY

Ish takes too many shots…. smh!

  • David Kim

ish smith should be backup of Lin

  • heart

Same old pattern is repeating before our eyes. All lead is gone and now we’re tie. Common denominator KW took most shots in first half w/o playing defense.

  • he was a bit late, I think, trying to avoid Gobert block

  • Linsanity2.0

Lin only took 5 shots this game… Too passive again

  • heart

    Blocked by Gobert.

  • CaliUSMC

looks like jazz will steal this one

  • Linsanity2.0

No it hit the rim it wasn’t blocked

  • Sophie Paris

    Lin is in !!!

  • DX

    He has average over 3TOs.

  • LAJane

that “passive” meme is so dead

  • Promo Sports World

    Ugly offense ugly

    No picks

    No movement

Kemba lost the ball twice and decided. ill just shoot it

    Lin is clutch

  • LAJane

    Kemba πŸ™‚

    Mr. 4th quarter and clutch

  • Sophie Paris

    So as mine lol

  • CaliUSMC

    lol

  • adele

It should not be a wonder why they’re losing the previous games.

  • Kemba left Neto wide-open on that missed 3

  • blubell

    how nice of him lol

  • Linsanity2.0

Kenna is having a brilliant game

    He’s out

  • LAJane

    punishment for sayin’ “passive” πŸ™‚

  • cshot

i think he may have gotten it off

  • unfortunately, Utah had 8-2 run since Kemba checked in the 4th quarter until Lin made it 88-88
He was 0-2 shooting during this stretch

  • Linsanity2.0

Lol ok? I call it like I see it

    Is 6 shots not passive?

  • cshot

    nvm

  • Batum 3, yess
    93-90

  • Linsanity2.0

Yeah but Kemba is the reason hornets are even in the game. You can’t deny that

  • argh, Kemba bad pass to Zeller.. TO

  • Linsanity2.0

    Nicccccc33333333

  • Alain Gervais

Kemba just doesn’t have good passing skills

  • travis

Kemba refuses to swing it to jeremy

  • Sophie Paris

    Lame :#

  • Hope

    Zeller can’t crawl or jump.

  • LinMad

wow Mj showed up today? We better win this.

  • David Ly

Kemba picked a bad time to have such a risky pass to Zeller.

  • that’s a crucial possession, too .. *arrgggh*

  • Promo Sports World

    Kemba make the smart pass….

  • sws94

Yep, terrible pass. Kemba has not had a good 4Q.

  • cshot

zeller to me at times looks like a clumsy trex trying to play basketball

  • LinMad

Batum needs to stick to catch and shoot and stop dribbling or play making. I don’t see how coach sees it differently.

  • sws94

    Absolutely true.

  • Epie

Well, Kemba looked at Lin and just gave to Zeller.

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba wants to be the hero we all
Know that. MJ is in the house he wants to impress

  • occupatio

u forgot kemba’s mom is also in audience

  • Good defensive challenge by Lin to cause missed 3

  • JoeTeam

that hood shot was all Lin, did you see him get hit on the screen?

  • Promo Sports World

Kemba going 1 on 1 is painful in the 4th

Kemba just believe he is Mj or Kobe.

  • Promo Sports World

Hayward has become a really good player

  • LinMad

    our rebounds suck

  • blubell

    They need his leadership.

  • LAJane

    but will they take it?

  • NONONO

I bet Kemba will shot it

  • Linsanity2.0

Their goin to foul. Shot clock is off

  • sws94

    partially.

  • I just hope Kemba doesn’t have bad pass

  • gandychan

kemba puts his team under unnecessary pressure. should have moved the ball around more.

  • Linsanity2.0

Their fouling shot clock is off

  • LinMad

Lin actually played 26 mins today. Not bad.

  • sws94

After a good game, Kemba reverts to losing Kembaball.

  • golfhacker

    60% chance Kemba 40% Batum.

  • occupatio

    boring boring

  • Promo Sports World

    Let batum inbounds

  • blubell

    I think that’s his average.

  • LinMad

    Kemba was fouled

  • travis

    Kaminsky can’t see lin

  • Kam inbounding is not good

  • Promo Sports World

    It’s foolish

  • LinMad

Lin is not even an option to pass it to?

  • NONONO

Where is Lin? i thought Lin is the best inbounder

  • cdblue10

    Stupid Kaminsky

  • BobbyH

“Nobody wants to pass to Jeremy Lin”, said the Jazz announcer.

  • Linsanity2.0

Lins on the other side of the court

  • blubell

    my my…

  • Clifford gambled to trust Kam the rookie to inbound

  • LinMad

Now Lin probably will run for the ball

  • Epie

    Oh my… why why

  • NONONO

OMG i did not even see Lin on only my TV when Frank was inbounding

  • JoeTeam

    Yay that was all Lin!

  • Promo Sports World

    Lin with the save

  • cdblue10

    Why did you pass it?

  • What a GREAT SAVE by Lin and GREAT Needle-pass to Kemba who got fouled!

  • LinMad

    wow Lin saved it

  • gandychan

doesn’t want the pressure of making shots.

  • JoeTeam

open run to the basked for KW, that’s why.

  • golfhacker

He was gonna get trapped by 2 defenders.

  • cdblue10

    hahahha Kemba sleeping

Yet Hornets didn’t even mention Lin. Dell credited NB to have a hand on it.

  • cdblue10

    In Kemba you lose….lol

  • DX

    Just low IQ strategy.

  • Kemba 6ft behind the 3pt line? *argh*

  • LinMad

    OT

  • adele

Can’t believe Kemba is not driving it to the basket.

  • blubell

    It’s Linsanity time!

  • LinMad

    he took long range 3

  • Linsanity2.0

    Wtf just happened?

  • LinMad

    Mr. OT

  • why long 3 when you can drive and get fouled?

  • NONONO

    Hornets completely ignore Lin, OMG

  • DX

Why shoot far from 3 points line, there was plenty time.

  • heart

Same movie is replaying before our very eyes. I just hope Lin gets his in OT.

  • travis

Kemba forgot who he was guarding

  • Rick Johnson

    Who’s supposed to cover Burke?

  • travis

    Ikr

  • Alain Gervais

Honestly if Bemba has the ball i rather him shoot. Why because he cant pass that well. unless the pass is really easy

  • LinMad

If Lin didn’t save that ball, we would have lost.

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba had great 3 quarters but he’s had an awful 4th quarter. Pure selfishness and ego driven

  • Sophie Paris

    There’s no words :Γ—

  • travis

I think he gets the ball once every 3 possessions

  • JoeTeam

no, he was in the backcourt and KW had a free lane to the basket. It was a smart play.

  • DX

You are right. At least, get double digits.

  • LAJane

Lin has all his radar lit up all the time, and Kemba’s lights are off unless he’s in the act of shooting…so it seems.

  • I am The Jason

Why did they not use their timeout. This team????

  • cshot

completely unnecessary….. frank def has something against jeremy.

  • occupatio

would be hilarious if hornets lose this.

  • adele

True. but Kemba hero ball does it again.

  • LinMad

    cause Kemba

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Kemba blew assignment guarding Batum’s man (Hayward) leaving Burke wide open 3s.

  • travis

Is mj the supposed goat going to continue letting this kind of basketball be played , remains to be seen

  • JoeTeam

Because KW knew he had the 3 in the bag. Brick.

  • adele

    Coach is smart.

  • LinMad

I think MJ knows Lin is good. Not given the chance though.

  • sws94

What Lin did doesn’t show up in the box score. That was a game-saving play.

  • occupatio

itll still be kemba in 4th. missing just makes him shoot more to make up for it.

  • LAJane

    in English OR in French!

  • golfhacker

I think it was Kemba’s guy. Batum was also in the vicinity and he didn’t even notice Burke.

  • cdblue10

    Kemba the hero strikes again

  • adele

He needs to be smart. He can get near and make sure of his shot.

  • Lin smartly drove & get fouled.

    Kemba, pay attention

  • Linsanity2.0

Let’s go! Team ball trumps hero ball!!

  • Linsanity2.0

    It’s Marvin time!!!

  • LAJane

Of course he knows he’s good. But he’s already put his money on Kemba. He’s gonna go for the full indigestion.

  • cdblue10

    That’s Booker

  • blubell

Zeller misses a lot of clutch FTs…

  • JoeTeam

so far, kw and batum nothing in OT. JLin, MW, CZ ok. 5 on 3.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lins speed is clearly off

  • JoeTeam

on that play, he got hit and no call.

  • LinMad

run to the freakign ball guys…

  • travis

    Where’s the foul?!?

  • Linsanity2.0

    Lin doesn’t have it tonight

  • heart

I think Lin’s ankle is still bothering him. He’s not moving well.

  • Linsanity2.0

Lin needs to stop picking up his dribble

  • JoeTeam

yep JLin got hit when he was about blow by.

  • cshot

he gets freaking chested and no foul call

  • Great offensive rebound by Marvin

  • JoeTeam

stop, he got hit then trapped.

  • travis

U really think Burke can make lin stop his dribble without fouling

  • sws94

He’s injured, doesn’t have his usual footing.

  • LinMad

    he hit his head

  • tom

Cant they just foul Lin and let em score in double digitd

  • LinMad

Lin is tired…he played how many minutes straight?

  • Good drive by Kemba, not settle for jumpshot
    104-101

  • Alain Gervais

    almost 20

  • DX

Lin put most energy on D. How many times he make up for other teammates.

  • Linsanity2.0

    Kemba has 39 pts wow

  • JoeTeam

no, did you see that? KW had him pinned in the corner and ignored him doing his ISO right in front of him. Just before that, JLin had 2 great D plays to start that scramble where CHA got the D reb.

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba can be inconsistent but when he’s on he is on

  • LinMad

that’s crazy cause I thought Lin was gonna have only 20 minutes today cause after first half it was only 10 minutes of PT

  • David Ly

Lin and Marvin are the X Factors.

  • LinMad

Kemba is obviously O and Lin is D

  • Alain Gervais

and he isn’t close to 100 percent

  • JoeTeam

that was a v risky play, iced all 4 teammates.

  • Promo Sports World

Where is the troll Tom saying Lin is disrespected

Come on man watch the team…he gets his minutes

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba Walker 39 pts 8 ast 7 reb he has had a fantastic game

  • Sophie Paris

    Lol both

  • Linsanity2.0

  • JoeTeam

    hard to take but true.

  • Epie

It’s a bit stretch calling someone a troll for expressing his/her own opinion.

  • sws94

Lin is in the closing group but he’s having to guard a bigger man. MKG comes back, LIn’s minutes probably go down.

  • JoeTeam

in the long run it loses, as proven by the record.

  • Alain Gervais

what a terrible shot but its his day

  • Bad shot selection but good that he made it

  • DX

Let Kemba go wild. He can’t keep good luck and feeling every game.

It’s KembA basketball, everybody is just filling up the court to complete the 5 players, won’t win a lot of basketball this way.Lin has a good game and save the day w/ that hustle on regulation time, just stay healthy my man, your time will come.

I noticed when players play D, Kemba can just focus on O. But that doesn’t work. They did that last season.

  • Alain Gervais

    how was he that open

  • Alain Gervais

our team is bad even in victory

  • Linsanity2.0

Congrats Kemba! New career high 43 pts

  • cshot

look at kemba smiling and sooooo happy cus he got his stats

  • blubell

I’m looking at play by play… all I see is Walk this and Walk that lol *sigh*

  • DX

Batum doesn’t want to give the ball to Lin. WTF

  • It’s amazing how Burke made his shots without Kemba in the same zip code

  • Promo Sports World

43 points no matter how ugly is a bunch of buckets

  • Linsanity2.0

Let him have it its his night

  • LinMad

Lin was being pounded though. Maybe afraid he would lose it.

  • DX

No body want to steal Kemba’s thunder today. So win is his win and lost is his lost. Actually, he almost cost the win.

  • JoeTeam

it’s not really him. For example, 2 more made FTs. Had he given it to JLin wide open, they would have burned 5 more sec off the clock. KW is scoring a lot, and personally keeping Jazz in game. Jazz 3 just now … I’m not sure, but that was a wide open on perimeter, now sure if KW should have been patroling.

  • Kam inbounding led to TO.. there u go

  • Alain Gervais

    batum tov again

  • JoeTeam

    What a dumb TOV.

  • cdblue10

Hornets team is easy to defend because even Kemba is hot or not ,he will keep shooting the basketball no matter what, they’ll not gonna win a lot of games this way

  • Promo Sports World

Dumbest pass ever Jeremy right there

  • Promo Sports World

    Foolish

  • DX

Batum already made 2 same mistakes at the key moment.

  • LinMad

    Batum…..he gets stripped so easily

  • Linsanity2.0

    What a terrible pass

  • NONONO

    Lin is open, frank???

  • Promo Sports World

Don’t make that pass my god

  • Sophie Paris

Lol if they lose at the buzzer

  • Alain Gervais

    is this double overtime

  • Alain Gervais

    lol

  • LinMad

This is what happens, when you don’t get one of your fastest players on court to get the ball.

  • Frank poor choice to inbound

  • David Ly

    Cliff doesn’t learn does he.

  • Linsanity2.0

Why is a rookie passin ball in clutch moments? It should be spencer hawes

  • Linsanity2.0

Cliff is terrible at drawing plays

  • JoeTeam

you are right tom, JLin is not getting ball for his role. And they are ignoring him when he’s open. KW could have burned more time off the clock by sharing, but instead he got his FTs.

  • blubell

    Double OT

  • Alain Gervais

Lin was wide open under the rim lmao

  • LAJane

    hahahahaha – tied

  • JoeTeam

2nd OT caused by KW, they had it.

  • Lin is OPEN under the rim.. but Kemba chose to SHOOT??????

  • Epie

COME ON KEMBA ARE YOU BLIND??

  • David Ly

    Wow Lin was wide open.

  • cdblue10

    Oh my God,fckin Walker,Lin is open underneath,ah*ole!!!!!

  • Promo Sports World

    Horrible coaching

Clifford is a defensive coach I may add

  • Alain Gervais

    He has bad pg vision

  • tom

Thats why his team aint winning

  • I am The Jason

Kemba gets a fail for that. Lin was under the basket by HIMSELF!!!!

  • travis

Holy same play as last game with Davis unbelievable

  • Promo Sports World

    Ugly game

  • DX

Lin is under the basket without guarding. Kemba is just too……………………

  • Linsanity2.0

    Lin was wide open lmaooo

  • he probably wants to get 2OT for a shot at 50pts

  • Briiick

It seems the change Cliff called for is to let KW take the PG role back from Batum.

  • LinMad

    Coaching mistakes.

    1. Frank inbounding
    2. Batum asking for ball. He doesn’t move his feet. Gets stripped.
    3. Lin was opened. Lin is fast he could get the ball. Why not draw that play.

In fact Lin was the reason we went into OT1. He saved a bad inbound by Frank cause he ran for the ball.

  • travis

    Deja vu

  • xeroid

Lin was under the basket, but Kemba wants the last shot.

  • JoeTeam

just to be sure, which game is not lol?

  • tom

Kemba chose double OT yep no wonder his team aint winning

  • sws94

Lin was WIDE open under the basket.

  • adele

No. He doesn’t want Lin to have his stats.

  • Linsanity2.0

Omg Kemba is even more selfish than Kobe wowww his ego size of a mountain. Lin was wide open at the rim

  • cdblue10

Lol makes sense psalm, personal glory first before anything else

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I am peeshed. From Clifford to Kemba. They are cancer n worse than Harden and McHale.

  • DX

Kemba can become the new Mamba.

  • heart

Walked away. Came back another OT. SMH!

  • Alain Gervais

Its one or the other. He is either a terrible passer or he passes terribly to shoot more lmao

  • LAJane

In order to have bad PG vision, you have to have PG vision, but what he has is hero vision.

  • Kemba’s mindset: “If I made it, I got 45pts in 1OT, but if not I can get 50+pts in 2OT”

  • Promo Sports World

Well maybe Jeremy gets a shot here geez

Even Jordan passed to Bill Wellington

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Kemba you can score 80 pts but this team won’t win.

  • LAJane

    Not just Lin…anybody.

  • LinMad

I guess Lin is playing 25 minutes straight without rest

  • Briiick

Yes someone please posts the highlight of this selfish losing ball.

  • DX

There shouldn’t have 1st OT, now 2nd OT because Kemba.

  • blubell

Kemba and Batum played over 40mins…

  • Linsanity2.0

    Wow Kemba

  • travis

Jeremy on an island to create for his own

  • Linsanity2.0

    Kemba goin for 50 lol

  • kauaiblue

    His he doing??

  • Lin assist to Marvin 33333!!! YESS

    That’s a PG

  • DX

    Yes, play team ball.

  • Singapore BB Fan

Stats show that whenever kemba had a high score Hornets lose. So I place my bets on Jazz to win.

  • NONONO

    Go Utah!

  • JoeTeam

look at how good JLin is. Took a pick by Cody, but cody didn’t roll. Stuck. Found a way to find MW for a 3.

  • Epie

Ah ha.. going for the franchise’s highest score

  • Promo Sports World

Well maybe Jeremy gets a shot here geez Well maybe Jeremy gets a shot here geez

Even Jordan passed to Bill Wellington ven Jordan passed to Bill Wellington

  • LinMad

How come when Lin gets the ball for 2 seconds coach is like “MOVE IT!”

  • DX

Come on, this is no a personal show, this is a game.

  • Promo Sports World

    Special night for Kemba

  • NONONO

    Beat the ASG clock

  • Kemba feeling it , big 3
    116-110

  • JoeTeam

    Lin D on Hood again!

  • Linsanity2.0

    50 pts wow

  • grover chang

What 2OTs. I’m at work right now. What is going on?

  • Lin got pushed around in the Paint!!!

  • blubell

    Walker taking all the shots…

  • Promo Sports World

    Jeremy was getting mauled before

  • cdblue10

Imagined the other four players are just keep hustling and running back and forth but Kemba is just solely shooting the ball everytime he got it….lol.This is how greeedy this guy is.

  • grover chang

now 2OT, yeah he is on.

  • DX

    Yes, that’s the plan.

  • JoeTeam

there is no way for this team to get a downhill run because ISO by KW is so iffy.

  • LinMad

    another OT? LOL

  • Briiick

Yeah, don’t vote for stat padding losers.

  • cdblue10

    NO way at all Joe

  • LAJane

Kemba in full on hero mode. Has 50 points…on the other hand, poor court vision and no D whatsoever made him specifically responsible for missed ops that put them into first one OT, then a 2nd. Jeremy had fab assist play that saved them at the end of regulation, just in time for Kemba to let it get tied for the first OT.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin has no energy

  • blubell

Good news for Kemba then, smh.

  • JLin has been playing for 26 min straight since 4min left in Q3

  • Lin is super-tired

  • Linsanity2.0

    Man Lin looks bad

  • Promo Sports World

    No spacing

    No coaching

Lucky Kemba is having care day

Hopeful Jeremy has oxygen at home

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba on another level 2 night

  • blubell

    Because he gave his all.

  • Promo Sports World

    Great pass Jeremy

  • sws94

    Lin has no feet.

  • LAJane

You maul the only guy who’s a threat on defense.

  • JoeTeam

did you see that KW taking on 3 guys, pulling it out and eating up clock, bricks one. Cody Rebs, he snags and gives it to JLin and walks away from the play exhausted. What a bad leader.

  • Nice give-and-go between Lin & Zeller
    2FTs

  • Alain Gervais

    yep.

  • David Ly

    Great pass.

  • JoeTeam

JLin PG, focused, gets Cody for an easy set of FTs.

  • LinMad

    good….

  • David Ly

    Cody is clutch man.

  • blubell

Good for Zeller. He’s making the clutch FTs πŸ™‚

  • LinMad

    need this one

  • joyce ward

You have been dissing lin all game. Why are you even on this board with your undercover diss

  • That was a super-smart play by JLin with Zeller
Potential And-1 or 2FTs, sure points!

    That’s a PG, my friends =)

  • Promo Sports World

    Jeremy has played a h*** of 2nd half ++++

    Defense

    Solid passing

Wish he could shoot more but h*** he is playing

  • sws94

    Great play, Lin.

  • heart

It’s SAD Lin does NOT get his stats in OT.

  • Promo Sports World

Seller just can’t finish but great dime

  • LinMad

he’s tired, he played 28 minutes straight. I think since 4 minute mark in 3rd quarter

  • David Ly

Wow a PG made a play.

  • cdblue10

Definitely I saw that one and this actually rubs with the new guys like Kaminsky but Kaminsky is becoming also a ball hog player like him

  • DX

    He won’t steal Kemba’s thunder.

  • Linsanity2.0

I’m not dissing.. Just speakin how I see it

  • sws94

2 big points created calmly by Lin.

  • Promo Sports World

    Yup

  • DX

    3rd, OT?

  • JoeTeam

losing team culture is infectious. That’s why there are only a few contenders each year. This is a non-performing team with a faux leader.

  • David Ly

I like how Lin played point at such a crucial time.

  • Epie

oh wow 34 FGA by K3mba

  • LinMad

    1 more OT please.

  • blubell

    Not good for his ankle.

  • cdblue10

Nice D by Lin,a nail on the coffin

  • DX

Lin defend the key shot again!!!!

  • Promo Sports World

    Game time

  • JoeTeam

That was Lin on the D again, causing the brick.

JLin has been the guy who saved this team with his stops, and when he got to touch the ball, he has excellent feeds.

  • LinMad

    Finally!!

  • JoeTeam

we are indeed watching the same game.

  • Briiick

Lin plays to win, KW only does the part that has stats.

  • LinMad

sadly it’s Kemba that gets all the attention but he does deserve most of it.

  • Sophie Paris

    I breath again πŸ˜‰

  • tom

Lins gotta get his scoring up

  • Sophie Paris

    Lin played incredible defense

  • JoeTeam

do not want KW to have 60. JLin is just working to get him his stats. It’s ok, Igoudalla, Danny Green do this for others too. But they do it for better teams.

  • jeremylin17

was lin injured? he stopped shooting or driving to the rim

  • David Ly

Team ball was needed at the end of the game.

  • Briiick

Not here, we don’t vote for stat padders.

  • cdblue10

    Lin reads that play perfectly

  • LinMad

    tired

  • Why are there so many empty chairs?
Did people leave or they didn’t come?

  • JoeTeam

he can’t unless they give him enough ball for him to get in rhythm. His first few usages always go to the great feeds he does.

  • Alain Gervais

    Has no legs

  • cshot

plz lol. like he’s going to get the chance w/kemba shooting like this

  • LinMad

    bad foul?

  • blubell

    Kemba ball is boring…

  • LinMad

    probably left

  • LAJane

Jeremy is NOT working for Kemba. Kemba may grab all the food off the plate, but Jeremy’s putting it out for a team WIN

  • David Ly

No opportunities. They were doubling ball handler every time. Hard to shoot
    when everyone else is hoisting.

  • tom

Yah gotta start looking out for himself

  • Briiick

No one but MJ/Cho likes Kemba ball.

  • tom

    true lol
I didnt enjoy this game one bit

  • tom

    Kemba..

  • LinMad

i don’t think they like Kemba ball. This was coach’s decision.

  • JoeTeam

i see problem on that as his in-season shot change, so he’s not able to pull in the shots fast like KT can. KT can get hot in an instant because he’s used well and consistently. I saw him need only one game to coming back from ankle injury. JLin needs a team that will put the ball in his hands on O.

  • DX

    Pay the parking meter.

  • jeremylin17

thats true. he is 4/6 which is pretty good. Im just curious cuz when your that accurate you would generally try and take more shots.

  • LinMad

I was supposed to buy lunch 1 hour ago…..

  • tom

This game didnt have to go into double OT at all
If only Kemba shared the ball more…smh
Like how CLifford let lin handle the ball at the very end cuz he makes better decisions

  • JoeTeam

I notice CHA is easy to get seats every game. Stubhub there must be cheap.

  • golfhacker

Now you save a few $$!

  • Briiick

They have to like KW very much in order to offer him a fat contract after seeing his career 39% FG.

  • JoeTeam

I agree totally summed up by so many ways KW could have created more scoring, sharing, and burning up clock instead of holding of this own shot or FTs, which bought Jazz so much time left on clock.

  • David Ly

My league pass is choking at the end of the game.

  • LinMad

This inbound with Frank doesn’t work. Also should look for Lin.

  • grover chang

thanks for the update. hard to read 1000 comments

  • David Ly

What kind of servers do the NBA use for this? Certainly isn’t what Netflix uses.

  • JoeTeam

yes, I was not saying Lin is deferring, more that he’s working as one should, and KW is pigging out at the trough.

  • Acbc

    Gagging on bad bball, lol

  • LAJane

    oink oink πŸ™‚

  • cdblue10

Kobe is just a prince of ball hogs,NBA has a new KING!!!!!!

  • heart

Don’t like Lin’s hair today. He does not look like himself.

  • blubell

    Wow… Walker to the end…

  • JoeTeam

ha ha hi ya you’ve been seeing this ugly kw ball? I heard on NPR today about the tennis match fixing. Hope they clean that up.

  • jeremylin17

the combo of walker and batum makes it impossible for lin to get anything done

  • JoeTeam

for me, if he had such a high, I’d give it to him to pad. Too bad he can’t share so the scoring is balanced. I mean, one needs that to win decisively.

  • LAJane

Yes…Walker will get to wear the Emperor’s New Clothes for a while after this.

  • cdblue10

    LOL exactly my thought

  • new post-game thread

    http://www.jlinportal.com/hornets-won-in-2ot-behind-kemba-52pts-jlin-played-pg/

Hornets Won in 2OT behind Kemba 52pts; JLin Played PG

The Hornets Won in 2OT behind a hot shooting Kemba (52pts) 124-119 vs Utah Jazz
JLin played great to orchestrate offense to find his teammates
    He finished with 9pts/5asts/6rebs/1stl/1TO in 36min; shooting 4-6 FGM (1-1 3FGM)

  • tom

hes a poor mans Iverson but much worse only the chucker attitude

  • sws94

Kemba is upset at himself, said he made too many mistakes down the stretch.

  • DX

Kemba said he is upside for himself. Put teammates on the court. That’s good.

  • LAJane

The problem is, he can say these things, but it just doesn’t seem to ever translate going forward….

  • cdblue10

Trying to apply some psychology to what fans feel about him, smart!!!

  • tom

Usually when guys have a big game like this
they are super hot and their FG% isi usually .500+ but kemba went below that cuz hes a selfish chucker

  • grover chang

Kobe approved game. Kemba is the MAN. whatever. I wonder how MJ feels about a game like this. Young MJ played for all the shots and lost, Prime MJ would still pass the ball.

  • tom

He knows the right things to say for sure

  • CJSHYY

Took too many shots? LOL! They won that’s all matter.

  • sws94

Lin saved the game. No 52 for Kemba if Lin doesn’t get that loose ball that Batum fumbled.

  • Sophie Paris

He just forgot his wax lol

  • JoeTeam

    sort of like Monte unreformed?

  • grover chang

    Kemba – 52 points. Lin in – 1 win.

  • Acbc

This game will be the death nail to the Hornets season. KW will hog the ball even more now and take the team on yet another long losing streak.

There is a linear causality to this type of team dynamics that leads to more and more selfishness. That’s just how players will react. They’ll all start to look to stat pad their own in order to rise to the top of the pecking order. Bad coaching, and chemistry, bad team culture.

  • cdblue10

During his early time in the Bulls he has nobody to pass to and he’s young just trying to prove something but Kemba is already 5 years in the league, he should know what team basketball by now and he has a lot of help to share the loads but it seems he just want personal glory first before the team

  • xeroid

His ankle is bothering him, when he drives the ankle gave way.

  • cdblue10

Of course they need to protect their own personal interest too.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

LOL….Come on man, give Kemba a break…He played great…The guy is truly talented…He has the ability to create his own shot at will because of his maze dribbling skills…If Kemba was 3 inches taller, he’d be a super star.

  • LAJane

    The standard troll mantra.

Hi Joyce! Great to see you here.

  • LinMad

I just hope this isn’t what Cliff meant when he said he’ll make changes. MJ didn’t look happy at the end either.

  • xeroid

He did play great, except he could have save the double overtime by passing to Lin under the basket at the end of first overtime., and Acbc was referring the team dynamic.

  • tom

Monte Ellis is a very good player hes shooting at .470-480

  • ηƒζƒ…ηš„lychee

you just need to say if lin is black may be more easier

  • Briiick

The releasing point is lower and more to the front so that he shoots it a little earlier in the jump cycle than he used to, which gives more initial speed to the ball from his jumping body and takes the load of his shooting hand.

  • JoeTeam

On the day that Cliff says things are changing.

Hey acbc, you think a lot. In watching the fan reaction to KW’s scoring run, they were panning some lady fans clapping with the ISO ball.

The though occurred to me … it’s known that when leaders want to keep the proletariat peaceful, they ‘let them eat cake.’ Today’s news that top 62billionaires have more $ now that over half the population of the world. The story said it is bad for humanity, because that concentration of wealth causes instability in civilization.

    http://www.newsweek.com/62-people-wealth-three-billion-oxfam-416338

Could all this be part of the Matrix?

I ask because there were a few key fouls that JLin did not get that would have ended the game for CHA in regulation and 1OT. I’m just thinking the hero cannot be JLin, for some scripted reason.

  • JoeTeam

I don’t think we watched the same game. Game was closable in regulation without KW’s ‘contribution’.

  • JoeTeam

I read that’s the reformed Monte. Maybe I’m thinking of the GSW and prev team Monte. I never liked his need to consume shots.

  • rookie75094

I look at it this way….this will help Jlin get traded easier because the hornets will think they can win with kembaball..yeah.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I had Kemba Walker in one of my DraftKing Daily Fantasy Line-up…I got 80 points off his performance tonight and this is the most point I’ve ever seen a player get.

So far so good for that line-up….Never finished first but I’m hoping to do it this time around.

  • KHuang

Nice clean two way team game by Lin.

With the low touches, Lin could not have played any better or done any more.

I am 100% satisfied with Lin’s effort this game.

  • fatbob

yes, but like he said he committed a ton of mistakes. Good thing he got the 50 points though

  • KHuang

    NO.

Kemba Walker only excels against WEAKENED teams like Utah that’s missing Dante Exum and Alec Burk.

Without Lin protecting him, Walker struggles to shoot 40%.

  • JoeTeam

I am 120% satisfied with his D and key plays that caused CHA to say in the game and win. While he did not have a hand in the scoring, he created the opportunities for stops and the separation, in spite of piggy ball.

  • JoeTeam

You said it, Jazz are too weak to need 2OT.

  • KHuang

    Agree.

This was actually one of Lin’s better games this season.

He couldn’t do any more than he did this game. Lin’s efficiency and teamplay left absolutely nothing to be desired.

  • JoeTeam

if KW had not throw those shots up and focused on getting open shots for teammates, perhaps the 50 points he scored would have been exceeded by 4 others. When GSW plays, the analysts rave about the number of assists per pt scored. This is how a team generates power.

  • JoeTeam

You’re right he really played well. It bummed me out he got few reb, assist or scoring opportunities with all those minutes, but I saw him make the right play to cover for team mates mistakes ALMOST EVERY stop or score.

  • KHuang

    Kemba Walker GOT HIS.

Against a hobbled young inexperienced Utah team that’s missing 3 starting rotation players in Derrick Favors, Alex Burk (actually a $10+ million sub), and Dante Exum, the Jazz didn’t have the talent to guard Walker.

When Walker plays inferior players like Burke and Neto, Walker plays like an All Star. But against REAL opponents in the NBA, Walker predictably struggles.

Walker’s solid scoring games of decent percentages have come very infrequently lately. That won’t change even after this game, no matter how many shots Walker puts up from now on.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

also satisfied with his game…At a point, I wished Lin had kept the ball so he could be fouled and get Free Throw…He made a very dangerous pass close to the baseline and I was shocked Kemba got it….Lin should had just kept it a dribbled away from the D.

I am surprised Utah didn’t continue to give the ball to Hood and let him pound Lin down-low…..At a point, I felt that Cliff should had pulled Lin out because Hood was simply over-powering him down low…..But Lin did hold his ground and played some tough defense on Hood at the end.

  • JoeTeam

argh, not looking fwd to games to come.

  • KHuang

Lin FIGHTS on defense, that’s why.

Opponents against Lin are able to rest on defense nowadays because Lin is not allowed to attack them on offense. This allows Lin’s opponent to really concentrate on offense.

Still, NOBODY fights harder defensively than Lin does. That’s why Lin is consistently a + player.

  • KHuang

Lin, the ULTIMATE GLUE GUY in the NBA.

  • KHuang

I am – and not necessarily in a pro Hornets way.

If Clifford and the Hornets believe that Kemba Walker with his sub 40% career shooting is the “saviour”, LET WALKER FIRE.

If Walker can indeed make his shots and get wins, more power to him.
If he cannot, then the Hornets will probably lose a ton of games and changes will have to be made.

  • fatbob

cmon man….true his D sucked, and true the other team are missing some guys, but the jazz are still a decent team. Currently 8th in the west. Kemba put the team on his back tonight, though it wasn’t necessary if he played some better D and let other guys score. Guess kemba finally snapped, can’t blame him

  • KHuang

The Western Conference STINKS this year, mainly due to so many good players like Lin transferring to the Eastern Conference.

Outside of the two top teams GSW and SAS, every Western Conference team has been weakened.

In any case, Kemba was RIGHT to put the team on his back. His opponents Neto and Burke are not good players, Burke being less of a lost cause. Kemba Walker had the hot hand and so he should shoot.

But will this high volume shooting work against REAL opponents? We’re gonna find out!

  • JoeTeam

Yeah, well I believe as the season pushes forward, the good teams will start gearing up for playoffs. I don’t like to see Lin play so hard for losses. It’s less fun. But yeah, games will be better if I watch GSW and SAS lol.

  • fatbob

yes west stinks this year, but do you know why they stink? Its because Spurs are 34 wins 6 losses and golden state warriors are 35 wins 4 losses, Thunder are 30 wins 12 losses. If these 3 teams win so much, then of course the rest of the west is going to have bad records. The top 3 teams in the west are killing the rest of the conference.

In the east, only the cavs are killing everyone else, thats why the fighting for playoff spots in the eastern conference is so intense this year, 2nd through 12th place all still have a good chance to make the playoff. Even the 13th place bucks have a shot, since they’re not that far behind 8th spot. Its royal rumble in the east,

Hornets Won in 2OT behind Kemba 52pts; JLin Played PG
    http://www.jlinportal.com/hornets-won-in-2ot-behind-kemba-52pts-jlin-played-pg/

The Hornets Won in 2OT behind a hot shooting Kemba (52pts) 124-119 vs Utah Jazz

JLin played great to orchestrate offense to find his teammates

    He finished with 9pts/5asts/6rebs/1stl/1TO in 36min; shooting 4-6 FGM (1-1 3FGM)

Very satisfied. Play good defense on Hood and even better on Hayward when he was red hot. Lin helped cool Haward down. Offensively is struggling with his balance and doesn’t have his usual speed, but made great, game-saving and winning hustle plays.

  • sws94

He played well until the 4th quarter and his dribbling skills is why he is a PG as opposed to his court vision and passing. He’s a great scorer too when he’s in rhythm. Kaminsky’s play also help and that was aided by Lin’s play. Kemba scored all night though, no let down in his scoring.

im not satisfied, i wish he got 6 more points

Not scripted. Just pure energy dynamics. Resource capture is fundamental to all forms of life…everything needs fuel. Once a fueling system establishes that can reproduce itself (a cell, a complex life form, a societal aggregate), it tends to homeostasis – it self-corrects to maintain that functioning until either internal instabilities disrupt it or until an outside force destabilizes it. So the swing of the ‘world view’ pendulum at the moment is tending towards extreme individualism (hero wealth, hero ball, etc.). The internal flaw with this view that will eventually tear it apart (again) is the absolute truth that NOTHING is accomplished alone. Kemba can get some spotlight, but he does in fact stand on the shoulders not only of other teammates, but of the owner/coach/fans/media who for the moment give him their particular favor. Same goes for sports figures, art celebrities, political leaders, “captains” of industry, etc. Jeremy was catapulted up by that social ‘hero’ fascination, and was thrown down as quickly. The Hornets have complimented Lin and have never heaved him under the bus, so his rep rehab has been accomplished, but the spotlight will have to wait until a spotlight space opens up for him. Plenty of speculation here on where that might be – Sixers, Bulls, Nets, etc. Fortunately for him, he understands how unreliable that spotlight space is (been there, done that) so what keeps him fueled and keeps us appreciating him is that he plays for the game, for himself, for God, as he says.

  • sws94

He hasn’t truly embraced the spotlight space. Even in the height of Linsanity, he didn’t embrace it. It’s about the synergism and the flow of who is in the flow at any given time.

  • LAJane

True. He both enjoyed it, and feared it – not through lack of self-confidence but because the pre-conceptions and outright racism he had always experienced made him rightly suspicious of such fast and white hot heat. I believe his personal joy (which some would call ambition) is playing point. He will happily and fully step into that if it can be had. And he will know how to handle the spotlight that would come with it. But we know the spotlight would not be what he came for. He is a very spiritually tempered being – a reader, as you say, of the “synergism and the flow”.

  • sws94

No blame. Two different players. Lin operates differently than Kemba. Lin shares the spotlight, Kemba goes for the spotlight.

  • sws94

Yes and of course this is at odds with the whole entertainer star paradigm of pro sports.

  • LAJane

So true. He could be anointed into the spotlight again. He has the talent, and they are mesmerized by the mohawk πŸ™‚ On the other hand, they may just instinctively smell that he’s not a core member of their selfish hero tribe and always resist. As Joyce Ward would say, the plot is still thickening.

  • JoeTeam

v nice and philosophical and sporty! Yes, so the truth on hero wealth is you cannot take it with you, and if you give it to kids or family, you could destroy their lives or burden them. We are all made to do something that we love and are good at … you’re totally right, nothing is accomplished alone. And, to not have a team with you in the waning parts of life is a sad thing.

Happy MLK day. Today was. … well bittersweet. I recognized all that JLin was doing to help win it, in an extraordinary way. But I wanted some easy steak or apple pie for JLin too.

  • adele

Yes but Kw will not reach his 50 points without double ot.

  • adele

This is the deadline for all star voting. At least Kemba will be voted by the coaches.

  • tom

    Hes a snake

  • heart

Yep. The coaches who are authorized to vote will use today’s game for their justification to vote KW in.

  • Maknusia

you did well…at least they got a Win….it may had been ugly but still a win….

  • adele

Sad to say that defense will not reflect in his stats. And you can’t be an all star. You can always be a journeyman in the NBA with low salary as compared to the stars with the O stats.

  • adele

There are few who wants him to shine and vice versa. Like Novak, Ed Davis, Jared Jeffries, Chandler

  • adele

Yes, but I just hope his good defense will be converted into stats and equate to be a face of the franchise for his new contract season. As it is, his tag right now is like a journeyman like Metta World Peace? or Matt Barnes? Good defensive plays and can create shots once in a while coz their shot attempts are limited because they have to focus on defense. In other words, help the stars to have their stats.

  • adele

Khuang, you think some team will sign Lin as the face of their franchise with his defensive plays but average stats. We know that he is capable and is an A+ player in our JLinportal site. But can a team offer him a big fat contract with those stats and make him a face of the franchise and let him play according to his strengths?

  • adele

I’m sure he will make changes after the all star.

  • adele

If Lin will be allowed to shoot as much attempts as Kemba and not focus on defense to help Kemba out, Im pretty sure he will have more points than Kemba. Tell me if you agree on this.

  • adele

I have Kemba in my fantasy line up too. It’s good for the fantasy, but in my real basketball sense, I’m not happy because Lin will not be included in the ASG, and not sure a lot of teams will make him their main offensive player in his next contract year because they will now look at him as a defensive player and a helper for their star player.
