G40 MIL @CHA Game Thread

On the 2nd game of back-to-back game, Lin is listed as questionable with right ankle sprain that reinjured during the Pelicans game. Even Kemba and Nic Batum are listed as probable. If JLin is not 100%, he should really rest but we know he’s very competitive so he might play tonight.

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s pray and hope that he gets closer to 100% health and maintains his shooting touch

Haven’t been first for a long while:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Any news on whether JLin is able to play in this game?? Personally would like JLin to sit out games until ankle is healed well enough to play.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Oh no JLin. Comeon!!!!!!!!!! Pray that you will play well.

  • heart

    Hello, 2nd or 3rd?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

hahaha. Second. I was talking to myself in the past few minutes:-)

  • tom

    4th

  • heart

Glad to join you. Hope Lin recovers quickly. Want him to heal completely before playing again though.

  • tom

Hope Lin plays tonight and shut down middleton so MCW has to step up and go 30-10-10-5-4

  • Ben Johnson

I actually hope he takes a good week off…playing on a gimpy ankle is a recipe for lingering ankle issues and does no good for his stats

  • heart

Me too. He needs to rest that ankle.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

I know. I’ve been quite concern about his injury. Seem like JLin continues to play with injury. Pray that it won’t get worse. Don’t expect a good stat.

  • rookie75094

Jlin please listen to your fans…take two weeks off…stay home and play dota until your ankle is 100%

  • jolno

I guess one of the positives of Hornets’ constant losing is that they might want to trade Lin away at the trading deadline if it’s clear that they have no chance at the playoffs by then. This would put Lin in a position to potentially playing in more playoffs games, which is always good for national exposure.

  • tom

    Lin WILL play!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin is a true warrior, we can’t blame him.

  • Acbc

There’s a lot of pressure being first in a game thread. Hope you bring him better luck than I did. Lol

  • tom

    I meant for MCW
I want MCW to go 30-10-10-5-4

  • DX

Yes, hope he stay health and have a good game.

  • If the Hornets gave up on the season as @occupatio:disqus brought up, Lin trade scenario might happen to get an asset back.

The unknown factor is whether Lin will be traded to a team that suits his strength.
We can only hope for the best for the season. Hopefully he’ll be healthy 100% no matter where he goes or stays

  • tom

They can only get draft picks and the teams that require Lins service are probably not getting good draft picks

  • aras

How do you people feel about Lin leaving for bulls? If rose ends up leaving and Lin ends up taking his spot i feel that it might be a better suit for him being that bulls have LEGIT BIG MEN! my god i cant watch charlottes big men anymore its torture…but i feel that if Lin does end up leaving i hope its for the bulls i have a feeling its a good suit for him.

  • Linzen

This is the only time I want Lin’s minutes under 20. Sigh!

  • DX

Agreed, choose Bulls or Nets better over 76ers.

  • tom

he will play if he can hes a true professional

  • aras

I hope he does go to bulls if rose leaves could be real good duo Butler and Lin

  • tom

Meh, Butler is the man he will probably be the primary ball handler
Coach likes to mess with the role players
Mirotic is getting unfair treatment all season

  • CJSHYY

Me too but I guess he will play near 25 min unless he’s in foul trouble.

  • aras

    1. Butler is not a great ballhandler he needs a Pg do take pressure of him doing it all.

    2. Mirotic is not that good if his shots are not falling what is he good for?

  • Whitman Lam

I just hope that Lin stays healthy and doesn’t try to do too much on a bad ankle. Hornets are already too far back to make the playoffs, just heal and recover for next season.

  • tom

Yah well ball is still gonna be in his hand a lot
Mirotic isnt very featured in their offense

  • aras

True ball will be in his hands a lot but rather him than kemba in my opinion…i can see Lin be a real Pg in that team at least.

  • DX

And PnR with Paul if he stays.

  • tom

If the sixers draft both ben simmons and melo trimble, who can be a pretty good NBA level PG
they will be a really good team in a few years they are prolly not gonna go for Lin if they get Trimble

  • tom

    True
if thats the case, he can play with the 2nd unit more setting up Mirotic and all

  • gum

I hope Trimble will stay at Md. U until he gets his degree..

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

NO, don’t want him to play….

  • tom

lol why? he can make money

  • gum

NBA will wait for him after 2 more years..If money is the most important aspect, I have no more comment to present.

  • tom

well it is for a lot of people
why do you think so many of them go after a year
they dont even wanna go to college to begin with

  • your son’s voltaire

next season we will see him playing for the spurs, warriors, bulls, or sixers!

  • heart

    mohawk day!

  • blubell
  • gum

I guess people have different values. I view the education is the top priority….

  • CaliUSMC

    Is Lin playing?

  • sws94

    I think so.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It takes 3 years at least for any PG to mature. How long does it take for John Wall and Westbrook to be what he’s now?

Lin is an immediate help at his prime. What 76ers need is a resurrection of its program to revive the basketball fans and the basketball program there right away. The team can’t expect a rookie PG to do the job. This is exactly the reason that Ish Smith was traded to 76ers for two 2nd round draft choices for emergency. Sam Hinkie loves the 2nd round draft choices. His recent success is a player called Chandler Parsons. Hinkie has to cough up the draft choices for Ish Smith, the second best undrafted player in the 2010 class. You know who is the best of the 2010 class; don’t you think MDA will give that up.

With MDA and Jeremy Lin next season, the team will immediately rise to the next level. Jeremy needs no more teachings to run MDA offense. Plus his defense experience this season will bring great value to 76er. Plus 76ers needs not give up any draft choices for Lin. As to cap space, the team has more than enough to offer.

Dammit! It is a match in heaven!

What they are hoping is Jeremy don’t get any nagging injury this season. Don’t you think MDA will give up his precious PG for a rookie. It is insane. No Sir, MDA is Linsane; not insane. He is a genius and a scrub coach like Byron Scott and Kevin McHale who deserve 100% of their pathetic coaching reputation.

  • CaliUSMC

    Coo. Thanks

  • Kwok Wai Lai

If Charlotte doesn’t run plays for Lin to score, they’re going to lose one more game.
Batum and Walker don’t need to score for the team to win but Lin has to score for this team to win.
Last game with Atlanta, Batum scored pathetic 6 points and the team blew the mighty Hawks away like a withering leave.
When Batum and Walker scored well, the team still would lose.

  • bolero
  • NONONO

LIN PLAY! if he plays as PG, i hope he will not pass ball too early like last game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I understand perfectly, pal. I’m with you. Why should Lin sacrifice his precious health for this team where he’s the third option.

  • blubell
  • NONONO

Kemba, Batum, Frank will not pass ball to Lin until last sec usually . So, Lin should not pass ball to them too early.

  • jolno

I remember reading some poster here who commented that Joseph Lin is a better 3 point shooter than Jeremy. So I went and looked up Joseph’s season number in SBL just now. Joseph actually shot 27.59% from the 3 point line in the Taiwan basketball league with shorter 3 point line. So I would say Jeremy is still the better 3 point shooter 🙂

  • blubell

Jeremy will play the right way.

  • cdblue10

Why would he go to the Bulls to run the 2nd unit if he can go to sixeers as the main PG?Sixers will be a good team next season with all of their assets and available money to go for solid players.

  • NONONO

hope so. he passed ball too early and never got them back many times. It toke him out of the game.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Why don’t you shoot like this in the game, Zeller? If you shoot 3 like this, the Hornets will open lots of space in the middle.

  • kauaiblue

JLin needs to stop being such a good teammate to these chumps…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Blame it on Clifford who draws up the game plan. Lin always follow the game plan and the coach’s decision. Blame it on Lin’s work ethics too.

  • Guest

    Good to know.

  • tom

    why not
sixers might not even need lin anymore

  • NONONO

Frank played like Kemba yesterday – keep shooting and no defense. Hornets fans like it.

  • tom

Hoe do you know MDA is going after Lin

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Don’t want Lin to go to any superstar home court.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Think of their draft choices so far and MDA and JLin and Noel and perhaps Okafor who can definitely score when Lin passes the ball to him down low. Yeah, Ish Smith the second best undrafted player in 2010 class will reunite with the best of the class next season!

  • blubell

    Kemba back to back 3s

  • Kwok Wai Lai

NOpe. MDA won’t give up easily.

  • good.. Kemba drove then kicked out to Marvin for a 3

  • I thought Kemba would take it himself but at least he passed after 2 makes.

    Let’s hope team-ball continues
    9-4

  • LinMad

    is Lin playing today?

  • yes

  • blubell

    Good start.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How do you know MDA doesn’t?
All MDA needs to do is to pick up his phone and tell Lin that your genius coach needs you. Fly first class to Philly and play for me. You’re guaranteed a starting spot and a fat contract.

  • LinMad

PJ has been looking good lately. Anyone agree with me?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I can believe that the Charlotte team is on fire. They want to burn the Bucks alive.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Dammit! Charlotte has made 4 assists in the first 4 minutes.
Looking forward to a roasted Buck today.

  • NONONO

yes. besides, his defense is usually good too. But for some reason, the lineup with him and lin usually not good.

  • LinMad

Kemba should have passed there, it was crowded

  • blubell

Kemba getting blocked twice so far

  • LinMad

    LOL they left Batum open

  • NONONO

    3 times in 5 mins

  • yes, he’s been getting better

3P% is 38% in Dec and 31% in Jan
But overall, the FG% is still a bit low 34%-35%

Quite a hard-worker.. good for him

  • LinMad

I’m glad Cliff called a TO to discuss defense. Even though we’re ahead by 6 pts

  • heart

Cody seems to be out of position leaving the paint vacant like last night. Cliff needs to fix this.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Both teams scoring at the same % but Hornets made 4 3s to Bucks none. Hornets got two FTs to Bucks none.

  • TTNN

He’s been like that for the whole year now.

  • heart

Bucks is going to attack the basket in the paint if Cliff doesn’t fix this.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The relentless Hornets offense; they own the offensive rebounds; 4:1.

  • heart

Two alley-oops missed: 1) KW to PJ; 2) NB to MW

  • LinMad

against this team only. I haven’t seen enough offensive rebounds this season.

  • LinMad

    PnR is killing us.

  • NONONO

kemba will shoot the team out of the game again, and again

  • LinMad

wow Kemba guarding the tallest guy there lol

  • TTNN

    PJ airball

  • blubell

    Kaminsky in first.

  • heart

    MCW shot over KW.

  • blubell

    Jeremy in

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Lin is in for MCW.

  • blubell

    2222222222

  • Dorothy

    2222222222222222

  • TTNN

    yes! Lin got a play

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Kaminsky made his layup. Hurray!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hornets needs to blow the Bucks away in the 1Q

  • TTNN

Did Hawes messed up Lin’s pass again?

  • blubell

    Uggh… Hawes

  • aras

i swear to god these big men belong in the d league

  • LinMad

    Hawes didn’t want to shoot

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Clifford figures it’s better to have Roberts than Daniels.

  • Who else thinks Asik is better than Hawes in finishing?

  • LinMad

well Frank is a rookie. He can shoot but he still needs to develop his big skills.

  • aras

dont like frank that much to be honest but we’ll see

  • TTNN

Gosh, Robert is a selfish player

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin has to score for the Hornets to win.

  • NONONO

Lin has no chance playing with Roberts, Batum and Frank

  • LinMad

as a big, i don’t like him either.

  • sws94

    Yes.

  • NONONO

he cannot even touch the ball with Roberts or Batum plays PG

  • LinMad

can you blame him though? He barely gets to play.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! They never look out for him. smh!

  • sws94

Roberts serves no purpose. Play Daniels here.

  • blubell

He should not be part of the regular line up. Too bad Lamb is injured

  • TTNN

well, there is a reason why he don’t get to play

  • heart

Roberts sub in for KW. So NB, BR, Kam and Hawes all wanna be pgs icing out the real pg, Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

    no daniels don’t play defense

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hawes will look for Lin.

  • TTNN

I don’t think Robert play much defense either.

  • blubell

    Better shooter than roberts.

  • Alain Gervais

has to be better then daniels

  • kauaiblue

Why does everyone refuse to play him as a pg?

  • kauaiblue

    This is boring.

  • TTNN

    not really

  • blubell

    I don’t like this line up…

  • NONONO

    7 blocked?

  • The Bucks is really good in blocking shots
    7-0 already

  • Alain Gervais

hope lin don’t become a three player again

  • blubell

    Steal.

  • blubell

    Was he fouled?

  • NONONO

Lin could be out of rhythm soon

  • Alain Gervais

    no

  • DX

Lin just stay on your man!!!

  • wow .. that was out of bound before the 3 shot

  • LinMad

    he contested it well

  • blubell
  • Hornets really got bad calls by refs

  • sws94

Lin needs to quit the foot in the paint thing and stay on the 3 point shooter. That kid can shoot.

  • aras

    this unit is baaaaad

  • blubell
  • LinMad

    Make Lin PG

  • DX

But two 3s have shot over him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Roberts is pathetic.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin playing hurt sucks

  • Good try by Lin on the reverse layup.. just a bit strong

  • it really hurt his stats and shots

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Roberts couldn’t defend nobody.

  • blubell

    Nice hustle

  • Kwok Wai Lai

There goes the problem and Lin stays put.

  • Dorothy

    Linning

  • Oh yeah, beautiful drive by Lin!!

  • DX

    WTF, that’s +1

  • LinMad

    Finger roll from 8 feet

  • Alain Gervais

why Lin taking hard shot lol

  • Announcer is impressed by JLin’s skills =D

  • blubell

Steal and drive to the basket

  • blubell

He’s got all kinds of skills 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

When you put Roberts and Hairston with Lin, it’s a big and heavy burden.
I have to go to church now. sign off.

  • CJSHYY

    Hornets?

  • sws94

That’s more like the old Lin. Get a steal and convert it. Was having problems finishing. Hope he gets in a rhythm now.

  • yeah = ) “Gorgeous”.. “take off middle lane”

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This next 5 minutes, the Hornets is going to slaughter the Bucks.

  • LinMad

Lin had a lot of blown assists today. He needs to shoot more.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Go JLin. Find the rhythm and “kill” Bucks:-)

  • JJ Hui

Ok now Cliff is going to sit Lin right after he shoot the basket? Break the rhytum and go back to the meh meh game?
One thing i dont understand is when one shoot the beautiful basket and everyone cheering n Cliff have to stop and called the Time Out? Why not continue?

  • sws94

A lot. Some were just jump shots but some Spencer does his usual right under the basket.

  • ok, Lin + starters now ..
39-38 Let’s see how they do

  • blubell

4 pts, 2 steals, and too many blown assists

  • Good Zeller .. drive+reverse
    41-38

  • JLin Fan from Australia

OK Back to playing Batum and Kemba. Ugly game again.

  • Man, another beautiful layup by Lin

  • Alain Gervais

    jeremy upset

  • NONONO

Lin missed two layups from left. Does it have issue on left hand? did he just score third one with left hand?

  • blubell

Jeremy yelling at his teammates regarding D

  • sws94

    Batum DOES pass to Lin.

  • LinMad

Jeremy didn’t like the defense there. He asked, “Who’s here?!”

  • Hornets defense is suspect.
Who’s supposed to guard Jabari Parker?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Good. Can’t blame him as sloppy defense from others.

  • LinMad

    Batum? or Marvin?

  • heart

I think Batum was out of position to allow straight drive to the basket.

  • MoominFloren

    batum

  • TTNN

    Marvin?

  • yeah.. is it Marvin at PF?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Which number??? I don’t know him.

  • Hornets need to start talking again on defense
    Good timeout

  • NONONO

Hornets were blocked 9 times. what is going on?

  • LinMad

i have no clue. But their bigs are beating ours.

  • jeremylin17

although lin has scored a few this game it seems like his ankle won’t allow him to drive that well this game

  • sws94

    nope. Let’s be positive.

  • blubell

Who knows… everyone playing out of position.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    Hahahaha. Hopefully:-)

  • CaliUSMC

Yeah but Bucks have 10to’s, Hornets still 0to’s

  • Barry Allen

There are times when you try to get too smart and mess up the line up. Everyone out of position makes it chaotic.

  • blubell

    Who is this Middleton?

  • jlinfan7

lin was wide open and batum didnt pass it to him

  • blubell

    FTS coming up

  • really good shooter

  • CaliUSMC

No idea. Dude is averaging almost 18 though.

  • Good drive by Lin to draw foul!
    Not settling for 3

  • Dorothy

until the last seconds, then Lin past back to him,he did not want to take it, and past right back to Lin again SMH

  • blubell

    Made 2!

  • LinMad

Lin has been contesting Middleton but he’s just that good

  • YEAH 2FTs

JLin plays very smart! Attack the rim

  • aras

    Good stuff Lin!

  • fatbob

problem is the huge mismatch…khris middleton is 2.01 meters, lin is 1.91 meters. Big mis match

  • it’s hard he gives up height

Middleton can’t pass Lin but he can shoot over him

  • blubell

    Yeah. he’s playing solid D.

  • blubell

    Good D

  • MoominFloren

So hurt to see lin limping on the court

  • CaliUSMC

3 in a row over Lin. Damn

  • blubell

    Geeez.

  • Middleton is hot

  • fatbob

hes got a big height advantage

  • Dorothy

Lin shots not falling 🙁 missed wide open 3

  • blubell

    Finally, assist

  • NONONO

    Lin 6.3 guarding 6.8 guy?

  • Lin assist to Marvin 3

  • DX

This guy really want to show up on Lin.

  • CJSHYY

There is nothing Lin can do w 5 inch taller… that’s from Bucks commentators.

  • LinMad

Well at least Middleton missed his last shot lol

  • Lin Win

That’s why Lin can’t play SG, he can’t defend the post against a taller stronger player ! Bucks are scoring on that! 3 over Lin consecutively and people were late to help.

  • fatbob

these are the games we need LAMB

  • CaliUSMC

    He’s averaging 20+ last 5 games. He’s just good

  • BeastModeCowboy

Lin getting lit up by Middleton

  • blubell

Just taking advantage of the match up.

  • aras

ridiculous to put Lin on middelton but he has done good on him so far..

  • LinMad

I think he’s done a good job so far just the shots went in

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin gave all guarding bigger man, he hit tough shots, nothing we can do. Won’t last.

  • Alain Gervais

Middle ton made 3 contested shots on Lin. He won’t make those When it count. He got a little hot but Lin defended him well.

  • BeastModeCowboy

Jason Kidd is a smart coach.. constantly going to Middleton knowing Lin cant guard him

  • LAJane

Yup. No special glory going over someone 5 inches shorter than you.

  • Lin Win

The length that Middleton has on Lin is a joke.
It’s as good as a wide open shot and no one came to help.

  • BeastModeCowboy

3/8 is ok not good and he’s being lit up on the defensive end first Vaughn now Middleton

  • CJSHYY

Ya! 6’8 vs 6’3… Why Cliff didn’t ask tall guy to guard him? He’s hot but Cliff didn’t do any adjustment again as usual.

  • sws94

Lin’s playing great defense on Middleton. Middleton is 5 inches taller but Lin is forcing him into very contested jump shots.

  • blubell

    Yup, can’t question his D.

  • Alain Gervais

    middleton is not a sg.

  • LAJane

And who on the Hornets would do better anyway.

  • sws94

He can guard him, he’s just too short to bother his shot.

  • BeastModeCowboy

    yes he is

  • MoominFloren

gotta ask the coach why not putting batum on him after shooting in again and again

  • LinMad

ya shots that he don’t want to take but making them.

  • cshot

    hows j doing?

  • Alain Gervais

sorry what i meant is he is very tall for the position. Like mcw

  • CJSHYY

Only the last one. Lin can’t do too much bc the high even Bucks commentators said so.

  • Lin Win
  • CJSHYY

    He’s SG.

  • BeastModeCowboy

no he cannot guard him.. Middleton scored every basket against him

  • Alain Gervais

he is a very tall sg.

  • CJSHYY

8 pts. Not too bad so far.

  • sws94

Yeah, long range jump shots. Some short range shots he missed too. But he looks ok today considering his ankle was questionable.

  • LinMad

    ok so far

  • blubell
  • Alain Gervais

basically the same hight as lebron

  • blubell
  • Lin Win

Not really! 6 8 for a SG is average. Lin is just below average on height in that position.

  • blubell
  • cshot

    thanks both!

  • CJSHYY

    Ya! I really don’t know what’s wrong w Cliff… smh!

  • Alain Gervais

no its not more like 6’5

  • Lin Win

Which means Lin cannot guard him.

  • sws94

Whatever. That’s good defense. Middleton scores due to height advantage, not that he shook Lin. Lin was right with him. That’s called good defense.

  • CaliUSMC

Lin has 2 steals. Chill out Cliff.

  • blubell
  • heart

Paraphrase: Bucks announcer said Middleton 6’8 should take advantage of Lin’s height 6’3 w/ injured ankle, all day long as as Hornets keep this match up. Doesn’t Cliff see this matchup? Batum or MW should be guarding Middleton?

  • BeastModeCowboy

no.. Good Defense is when you stop the opposition from scoring on you.

  • fatbob

it WILL last, if this guy is a good shooter and hes on a shooting streak, he can easily shoot over lin again and again just using the size advantage

  • JLin Fan from Australia

He is doing as well as he can be.

  • Alain Gervais

From our observations, the typical NBA point guard’s ideal height is 6’3” +/- 1” (give or take an inch) and is around 190 lbs. +/- 15 lbs. The typical NBA shooting guard stands about 6’5” +/- 1” and 205 lb. +/- 15 lbs.Oct 20, 2011 Middleton is one very tall sg

  • CJSHYY

I know & as usual Cliff would not make any adjustment at all. smh!

  • sws94

No, it means he can shoot over him. Lin forced him into jump shots. He didn’t lose Lin. Last night Batum shot over Davis. Want to say Davis can’t guard Batum be my guess. I see you and BeastMode want to come here and babble on about Lin’s defense. At least he’s playing good fundamental defense on a long, strong guy.

  • Lin Win

Sucks to be Lin in a lineup with 3 playmakers.
Lin will always be plan C when making a play.

Kemba and Batum has to fail in those 24 secs for Lin to get the ball and make the play.

  • donsmacau

JLIN is defending him fine, just Middleton is sinking the shots over him. May cool down 2nd half..
Not like guy is blowing by JLIN – the guy has 5 inches and that gives him a good look even with a hand in his face.

  • fatbob

no…SGs are usually pretty big, average would be jeremy lamb height at 6’6. Some bigger, some smaller, but usually not by much

  • heart

Cliff is over his head! He’s allowing an Injured Lin to guard a 6’8 guy continuously one on one w/o making any kind of adjustments for straight 6 minutes.

  • BeastModeCowboy

If Lin cannot guard Middleton in second half.. Clifford is going to sit him.. no way hes going to bench Kemba …

  • sws94

Ignoring Lin Win and the other person. Not worth our while to come in with only negativity.

  • LinMad

Yep, i think Cliff should have put Lin at PG today just cause Middleton is that much taller. Having Roberts wasn’t necessary this game unless Lin’s ankle was bothering him.

+/- 15 lbs.Oct 20, 2011

  • sws94

    He’s an SF height.

  • Lin Win

    Ranges 6’4 -6’7 for average

  • BeastModeCowboy

and bench Kemba? Clifford aint doing that

  • sws94

Roberts or Daniels for Lamb. One or the other.

  • LinMad

Wouldn’t Cliff put someone else on Middleton or is Middleton the smallest guy on Bucks that Lin can guard?

  • Alain Gervais

yep lebron is 6’9 only 1 inch taller

  • cshot

not his fault lol. he’s doing more than anyone could ask from him

  • sws94

Guys, don’t respond to BeastMode or Lin Win. They are baiting us.

  • donsmacau

It’s a sign of convoluted respect from Clifford that he puts JLIN on Middleton. Mean’s playing Troy Daniels or someone else and Cliff doesnt want to do that if possible.

  • BeastModeCowboy

Bucks are a big team.. if Batum switches on Middleton than Lin would have to guard the Greek Freak.. yikes even worse mismatch

  • LinMad

    just flag them

  • LAJane

Distressing. The only thing I don’t totally trust Lin with is protecting his body fully.

  • sws94

I don’t know if they’ve violated anything but they are just negative. I will when they do.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Not if the defender gave you little room.

  • cshot

i would have loooooved to see jeremy get coached by kidd

  • Lin Win

Lin also gave up deep position for an easy pass on the second to last possession. Lucky the guy missed a 8ft shot.
It’s easy for Middleton to shoot over Lin that’s why he’s doing it.
Saying Lin defended Middleton great after being shot in the face 3 times is a joke.

  • LinMad

i think JK wanted to play on the same team with Lin. I remember he went to Knicks but Lin went to Rockets.

  • sws94

Lin has to find his shot sooner or later. It’s like he’s only had it a game or two and then it leaves him. But I like that he’s picking his spots and Batum is finding him. Kemba is another story but at least Kemba is playing within limits tonight.

  • DX

Cliff just spin the fastest wheel.

  • tom

Middleton is way too tall Lin gotta play dirty
Use a little elbows and knees

  • LinMad

as long as refs don’t call those ticky tack fouls like they did before

  • donsmacau

When JLIN fouled and went to line, he came up limping after the foul.

  • sws94

Gotta stay out of foul trouble. He’s bodying up on him and they called a ticky-tack foul on him.

  • tom

Yah….I think h*** be fine Middleton aint a star yet

  • cshot

and that’s when he’ll pick up fouls like crazy. nba refs won’t let that happen lol. especially if its lin

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes, just flag it. When 5 people did it, the message is gone. Not sure about when the poster will be put into “list.”

  • Alain Gervais

the bucks are very tall in pretty much every position except the pf and center. mcw is 6’5

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin looks pissed today, glad he’s being serious now.

  • tom

yah he gotta learn some tricks from MJ he was the master at that then again he got star treatment too
Bruce Bowen is the best at that and he wasnt a star

  • cshot

    he’s never not been serious

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Just relax about Middleton. It won’t last.

  • tom

Unless he learns a trick or 2 from the almighty Bruce Bowen

  • donsmacau

He tried to play right on him to deny Middleton the pass, but the guy is a wily, a tough cover and goes gets the ball.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Whatever.

  • tom

    He’s always serious lol

  • aras

Have people here seen the type of shots middelton has taken? he is a real good shooter is all…a lot of contested shots that went in..Lin has done a good job on him with the height differrence and all.

  • BeastModeCowboy

he sure got paid like a star this offseason

  • tom

It’s more possible that hes not going to do that and hes not the GM

  • LinJa

    Pending approval apparently…

  • tom

did he even try to begin with?

  • BeastModeCowboy

that was right after Linsanity happened

  • tom

    He’s hot today
    happens

  • blubell

Not sure why. Probably a disqus issue.

  • Alain Gervais

now takin advantage of Kemba’s height issues

  • fatbob

you are mistaken…THERE IS NO CONTESTED SHOT, it is a 5 inch difference he can see over any hand in his face from someone 5 inches shorter

  • Lin Win

Man we are getting destroyed by height.

  • fatbob

damn…even the bucks PG is 6’6 LOL

  • tom

    Come on lets win one

  • heart

Again, during half-time Bucks announcers were salivating over the mismatch to allow Middleton to score “over and over” again. They call it “Jeremy buckets” for Middleton and said Bucks to keep going to it. If Cliff does not change this after the half, then we know that opponents are laughing at Cliff and he doesn’t even know it!

  • TTNN

    no box out

  • John Focker

To be honest I think after seeing the Hornets’ regression to their old ways during last game (after only one good teamball win), they are in for more losses than wins. Unless MJ gives them another stern talk.

  • NONONO

    Even PJ looks short.

  • LinMad

why is Batum just watching instead of contesting in the paint?

  • CJSHYY

Don’t want to get into foul trouble.

  • LAJane

He’d have to repeat every day…they just don’t seem to be able to stay on message.

  • blubell
  • LAJane

And this is the guy someone thought would do a better job on Middleton than Lin. Something is better than nothing…even so, I’d rather he sit out the rest of the game and rest that ankle.

  • blubell
  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • Lin Win

It’s so damn easy for Bucks to attack the paint!

  • sws94

Height only. Lin did a way better job staying with him and bodying him up.

  • NONONO

at home, would losing to Bucks cause Clifford’s job?

  • NONONO

Kemba is very passive on defense

  • CJSHYY

Can’t agree more. Cliff has no answer for it. smh!

  • LinMad

    Batum is too

  • CJSHYY

    His FA….?

  • Alain Gervais

hornets need to trade for a pf or center

  • CJSHYY

    Center.

  • LAJane

This is not news 🙂 Sadly.

  • NONONO

trade Lin. Lin does not have any chance in Hornets

  • heart

    Me too.

  • tom

    oh crap

  • tom

    Psycho T?

  • fatbob

there is a simple solution…play all our bigs and force the bucks to shoot at the 3!

  • John Focker

In other news, the moon revolves around the Earth…

  • Alain Gervais

    that would be terrible

  • John Focker

…for the Hornets. They’d have no D left.

  • NONONO

MJ should have given him a defense lesson instead of having him promote MJ’s shoes.

  • cshot

    cody just not smart

  • CJSHYY

    4 fouls?

  • Alain Gervais

no for Lin. on a team with a coach he didn’t choose. And a system that don’t fit him. Lakers all over again. I guess its true. grass is always greener on the other side until you get there

  • John Focker

Tell me about it. Batum and Lamb take games off for sprained toes…TOES!

While Lin keeps playing hard D on bad ankle and not-100% back.

  • NONONO

Is the trade deadline Feb 18? Would Lin have any patient with Clifford’s false promising by then?

  • John Focker

I guess you’re at least partially right, technically Hornets COULD trade Lin back to the Lakers. LOL

  • CaliUSMC

    Lin-Butler-Gasol

  • heart

No adjustments from Cliff so far???

  • tom

    No Lin? whats clifford doing?

  • cshot

    omg yes pls

  • cshot

    yep

  • John Focker

    Resting Lin’s ankle? 🙂

  • NONONO

How about trade KW and AL for Tyson?

  • DX

Hawes is a Ast. killer and TO builder.

  • sws94

I doubt Lin is going anywhere.

  • he’s been reading Lin fans’ tweet lol

  • occupatio

kemba is bored since batum is running offense.

  • CJSHYY

    OMG, takes Hawes out. smh!

  • LinMad

    defense looks terrible without Lin

  • tom

    Still no Lin? wth/

  • John Focker

Better yet, trade his rear away. Oh wait, no one would take him…

  • blubell

What is he doing reading our tweets? He should be coaching! Lol

  • John Focker

    You lost me at defense…

  • cshot

why is lin sitting the whole 3rd?

  • fatbob

    mismatch

  • blubell

    Lin in

  • 808JL7

No sense putting Lin in as 3rd playmaker. Let him rest his ankle.

  • Briiick

Batum as the PG has been the major plan and hope for Hornets. However the truth is cold and brutal that it works only for the personal stats of Batum and KW.

  • fatbob

wouldn’t make a difference, the bucks are all giants

  • donsmacau

Watch the Shooting foul on JLIN he came up limping reinjured ankle.

  • heart

Bucks will keep driving to the basket. They see no defense in the paint. And Hornets keep shooting from 3s. Batum as play maker does not put teammates in good position to shoot.

  • blubell

    PG Lin?

  • fatbob

    assist?

  • blubell

    Lol. No

  • fatbob

    ;[ liiin

  • aras

    what was that lin?

  • tom

Lin still in a shooting slump

  • LAJane

    lol

  • 808JL7

Can get air with a sprained ankle.

  • tom

They cant have both Lin and Kemba in
Mil is just too tall for them
DOnt think Lin will finish the game tn prolly got about 4-5 mins more

  • LAJane

For God’s sake, sit the injured!

  • golfhacker

Lin just passed up a 5-footer.

  • Guest

Hornets are not getting better. Playoffs hope just gone out of the window, Bucks showed teams how to beat Hornets.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

WHY????? Lin had the lane but passed out to William, why?

  • fatbob

wtf is this game?? Why is there a foul call every time on every possession for the bucks

  • NONONO

    Full mouth of gel?

  • blubell

    Made 1 FT

  • Dorothy

    22222222222222

  • blubell

    Steal and score

  • Lin steal & layup!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin limping heavy

  • fatbob

lin needs to constantly drive and get fouls

  • LAJane

Is it possible he’s just too ankle-hampered? Why does Cliff push this. Does he not care if his most reliable defender crash lands? 11 points and the best anyone has done on Middleton so far. Stop.

  • tom

Yah now that Lin got 11pts im okay with him sitting

  • blubell

    11 pts., 3 steals

  • tom

Double digits okay im happy now

  • Dorothy

Are you kidding? His ankle is hurt.

  • LinMad

good steal and layup, team looks disconnected though

  • NONONO

    does not look good

  • Alain Gervais

Datum is not having a good game

  • sws94

Open look, he likes Marvin shooting the corner 3.

  • aras

he is alright you cant run like that and make a play like that if you are seriously injured

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Hope that’s the case, hate to see him over unselfish.

  • fatbob

hes always limping, stop looking for something thats not there

  • DX

1st he need to get the ball. 2nd, need space. 3rd, ref. need to call.

  • aras

no 2 more points and we good

  • David Ly

Even with the ankle, he is scoring only on lay ups.

  • tom

    almost 10 assists
    hes coming down to earth

  • Alain Gervais

Weather you believe it or not its true.

  • Joe what do you know

Was it his right ankle that was injured?

  • This is how Lin makes a difference. (even with bad ankle0
Shots not falling for Hornets, he can drive to score or kickout.

    LINNING time!

  • fatbob

the only way to stop these bucks is to draw fouls on them and screw up their rythm

  • sws94

Started off great, then tailed off dramatically.

  • NONONO

he seems just got his ankle hurted again

  • LinMad

he looks the most energetic on team and he tries to involve everyone

  • Alain Gervais

his shooting is slumping. honestly didn’t notice any of his assist. Thats crazy he got 9

  • LAJane

    greedy greedy 🙂

  • blubell

    22222222

  • Alain Gervais

    Its the same injury.

  • Dorothy

    2222222222222

  • Another Lin 2..
    Midrange J!

  • blubell

    22222222 again!

  • oh MY LINSANITY!

  • fatbob

3 months from now you will be saying the same thing? He is limping so his ankle is busted? Lin is a professional athlete, he can handle it

  • NONONO

Lin might have his ankle hurt again by that fast break, Prefer he sit

  • aras

    WOOOO LIN!

  • LinMad

    attack !!

  • aras

    LIIIIIIIIN IS GOÌNGSAIYAN!

  • Alain Gervais

who are talking to like that

  • LAJane

Is anything left of that ankle? Talk about riding Secretariat into the ground!

  • blubell

    Anklesanity? Lol

  • DX

Wow, Lin leads the fight back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alain Gervais

very impressed by this mans guts. Limping and still pimping lmao

  • NONONO

did kemba only have 1 fg after firs 2 mins?

  • David Ly

Linsanity mode in a last few min.

  • LinMad

thats how you facilitate!! drive and kick. We need to see that more.

  • DX

    Yes, sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • NONONO

    LIN is changing the game

  • oh wow… Classic Linsanity..
Lin penetrated, kicked out to perimeter Kemba, pass to Frank for 3333!!!

  • cshot

lol this is why lin needs to be in….regardless of mismatch and what not. HE MAKES PLAYS

  • DX

Lin and Kemba speed up the pace.

  • zxcvb

Lin as PG and Hornets come alive.

Kemba and Batum are NOT the answer. Ever. They don’t have the talent. Only Lin can take this team anywhere.

Too bad it won’t last. Kemba and Nic will demand their stats and keep losing.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    good question. LOL

  • blubell
  • David Ly

Cliff actually drew up a play for him at the start of the 4th

  • blubell

    Mr. 4th Q

  • Joe what do you know

All these are done with Batum the fake facilitator out…. Sorry Batum just doesn’t have it today…

  • Briiick

Give Lin the PG role, Hornets get the key of winning, it’s that simple but for reasons of stat padding, it can’t be implemented too often.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • blubell
  • David Ly

Lin made his only jumper today and it was a set play where he shot it with confidence.

  • zxcvb

He never has it. He and Kemba get stats but it doesn’t affect the game.

  • sws94

There’s the “old” Lin right there. Hockey assist.

  • blubell
  • Promo Sports World

    Jeremy with that secretariat flow

  • blubell

    Where is the foul!?

  • zxcvb

    Here come the refs…

  • Joe what do you know

Yes I was being nice trying to avoid unnecessary debate with Batum apologists… My take on Batum all season long has been that he should stick to catch and shoot 90% of time…

  • blubell

    Wow.. the refs. Again….

  • golfhacker

CHA running a play for Hawes. LMFAO.

  • zxcvb

Game over. BS fouls on Lin with no calls. Now he’s on the bench.

  • cshot

and this is how they repay lin

  • Promo Sports World

Back to back legs on d shot

  • DX

    Lin is out, Game over.

  • sws94

    He’ll be back.

  • CJSHYY

What’s wrong w Cliff… Bucks commentators said that’s mismatch between Lin & Middleton.

  • BobbyH

Just rest. Got 15. Not bad.

  • NONONO

    Taking Kemba off, not LIN???

  • blubell

    Batum playing D?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOL Batum also got scored on immediately he was subbed in for JLin.

  • yes, Lin can rest.. he should be back with 4-5 min left for the final push

  • occupatio

    ref cheating again

  • Alain Gervais

Lin cant guard Middleton he is just to tall

  • zxcvb

Whenever Lin takes over, the refs put a stop to it.

  • LinMad

all of a sudden Hawes is playing D

  • heart

What is going on the minute Lin led the run, Cliff returns KW to play PG?

  • Briiick

Put Lin at the top of the key, key for Hornets to win.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    It will be too late.

  • NONONO

Cliff should keep Lin and take Kemba out.

  • DX

    The centres haven been killed.

  • zxcvb

Worst frontcourt in the league by far.

  • blubell
  • zxcvb

    And it’s clearly working! LOL.

  • blubell
  • Alain Gervais

Hornets have a big issue. The only player who was going offensively cant play because of his height.

  • Briiick

    And it get worse.

  • cshot

mismatches not mattering. middleton is shooting out of his mind right now

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    LOLOL Hairston lost Middleton entirely.

  • zxcvb

Such an incompetent franchise. Lin is playing with and for a dozen idiots all thinking they’re geniuses.

  • Joe what do you know

Again, can someone please drag Hawes off the court and put Muggsy Bogues on?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I m not because I’m used to it.

  • Promo Sports World

Middleton is like batum a good not great glue guy better shooter than batum

  • CJSHYY

It’s not working either… Middleton is keep scoring.

  • NONONO

They do not have problem with Kemba’s height. something else is wrong.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Exactly but….

  • Alain Gervais

MCW hasn’t taken advantage of it

  • David Ly

This might have been one the only times that Jeremy Lin would have stayed in the 4th and Kemba would sit.

  • NONONO

Then cliff should let Lin play pg and Batum guard middleton

  • Alain Gervais

    this is a lost

  • cshot

if they are that concerned with mismatches, then sit kemba down and put lin in

  • zxcvb

Going to be a 20pt blowout loss w/o Lin.

  • NONONO

    Kemba blocked 5 times?

  • Alain Gervais

Taking Lin out while it looked smart is back firing

  • Hornets kept giving wide-open shots.
    Defense is still #1 issue
    81-96

  • LinMad

Want to know something funny? Lin has most points on team and he’s only played 21 minutes. Why take him out?

  • devin2344

Rest your ankles lin. This clueless team doesn’t deserve you

  • CJSHYY

    Dumb.

  • tom

Cant really blame Clifford for taking Lin out
Mil just too tall and athletic
    bad match up

  • zxcvb

Did it look smart? Looked stupid and motivated by All-Star votes (can’t take out Kemba or he can’t stat pad).

  • golfhacker

    Team just chucking now.

  • Joe what do you know

Already 15 down with 5:30’to go. U better adjust that figure… 40 sounds about right…

  • Alain Gervais

Lin cant start at Pg so whats the choice really

  • zxcvb

Sure you can. He was the only one scoring and playing team ball.

Kemba should be on the bench, but Cliff is too gutless to bench him.

  • blubell

Highest scorer and the best defender for the hornets… with injured ankle.

  • This is pretty sad.
No defense and no organized offense

  • heart

Cliff is CLUELESS! That’s all I can say.

  • zxcvb

    …on the bench.

  • jlinfan7

    is lin coming back in?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Instead of double team or switch defender, Cliff took out his best defender to show surrendering.

  • blubell

    Darn refs….

  • LinMad

yep, Lin is actually doing good. 15 pts, 3 stls in 21 minutes. Kemba has over 33 minutes with 12 pts. He’s short too so he’s not really doing a good job on defense.

  • Alain Gervais

    nope white flag is waving

  • Briiick

Cliff has lost his team. Only MJ can hold KW responsible in one game.

  • zxcvb

Cliff could be on the hot seat unless he lets Lin play PG.

This is UGLY hoops. Worse than the Sixers.

  • blubell
  • 808JL7

Papa John is paying off Coach Cliff.

  • blubell

    Garbage time….

  • Alain Gervais

    check mate

  • NONONO

NO sorry to say, Clifford has failed Hornets by losing two bad teams

  • sws94

    White flag. Pathetic loss.

  • David Ly

Lin is leading scorer of the game with 15 pts in 21 min.

  • LinMad

    garbage time.

  • Clifford gave up now.
He wanted starters to watch how they got outplayed

  • Barry Allen

    No Lin, no win!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin sits, Bucks just ran 12-0. Very incompetent coach Clifford.

  • aras

Honeymoon is over for this team…talent is just not there with the soft big men they are the worst big mens i have ever seen inthe nba.

  • Briiick

The real question is why Batum at SG is not working ? Isn’t it the plan and goal of Hornets for this season ?

  • tom

I think theres a specific instruction from higher up on how to utilize Kemba
such as not sitting him in crunch time

  • zxcvb

Only winning player on this team is Lin, and he gets benched and iced out.

  • tom

    Yah…thats from higher up
Clifford has to play kemba down the stretch

  • Barry Allen

Good try Lin, he gave it his all on a bad ankle and was a huge spark.

  • zxcvb

Clifford should be fired for this game alone. He was totally humiliated and outsmarted in every way.

This was not NBA-level coaching. It was pee-wee rec league.

  • tom

Let Lin play some garbage time

  • BeastModeCowboy

    why whats the point

  • blubell

    Need to rest the ankle

  • tom

    stat padding

  • David Ly

I think Lins offense and playmaking made up for the mismatch. Yep definitely not a coincidence they started a run with Lin sitting since he was the spark plug.

  • golfhacker

    And by a backup coach.

  • sws94

tom, you ok? With his injury? Absolutely not.

  • zxcvb

    BINGO. Even worse.

  • DX

Hornets didn’t score and had 13-0 after Lin was out. I am glad Lin sit. Even Lin tried his best, mostly also a loss. just hope he can keep health for next game.

  • John Focker

Jeremy alone has more STLs than the entire Bucks team, in just 22 min of PT.

  • Briiick

Don’t ever mention talent when the coach can hold his players responsible in defense.

  • LinMad

I’m just curious why Lin got 21 minutes only.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin scored 15, that’s what I care most.

  • zxcvb

It’s baffling. MJ seems to give him free rein too. Can’t blame ownership.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Bad coaching.

  • DX

No need, heath is 1st. Also Lin is the highest score today.

  • John Focker

Pointless to keep hurting his ankle when the game is already lost.

  • LinMad

ya i don’t think Lin could have helped the Hornets win the game. Not when Batum or Roberts is facilitating over Lin.

  • sws94

They kept putting him on Middleton and Cliff tried to go big. Then he threw in the white towel.

  • zxcvb

Should have had 20 and win…but Kemba must statpad to finish 12th in All-Star voting!

  • And he gave the spurts in scoring Linsanity style being the PG =D

  • LinMad

but coach brought him in late. The game was still close when it was half time. He should have brought him in earlier in the third.

  • tom

    why not
he needs to practice more 3’s

  • CJSHYY

I think bc his ankle… it’s OK. He got his stats.

  • zxcvb

Cliff won’t yank Kemba, and they needed more size.

Lin is Asian so you can mistreat him and it’s okay.

  • LinMad

Lin did a better job than the bigs on Middleton. We saw how he pressured Middleton.

  • zxcvb

At least he made him work.

  • blubell

    not today. rest.

  • Alain Gervais

The smart choice would b to bench Kemba and let lin continue to go off. But here i go thinking “outside the box”

  • NONONO

They should put Lin up, at least give fans 50% pizza

  • NONONO

NO, i do not want to risk his ankle.

  • donsmacau

Marvin Williams Player of Game over JLIN?

  • tom

    Lolllll tyler ennis
was a decent college player now a scrub
Lin would have been nice with stanford smh

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Clifford took Lin out showed he’s a clueless coach. He had no defensive adjustment alternative.

  • GoJLin!

Yes, I vote for 15pts/2asts; too bad only got 1 ast since his teammate not cooperate. But he did gave us 3 STL! Healthy is more important right now, season still going & it is still a contract year! Pray for his 100% recovery!

  • zxcvb

Hornets are a lost cause. Unless they shock the world and trade Kemba, Lin is 100% leaving no matter what. Doesn’t matter if they give him 30+mpg…this is a trash franchise with no judgment. They’re doomed for another decade.

Lin should just rest up and reunite with MDA wherever he lands. Doesn’t even matter if there’s another PG “ahead” of him. He needs a coach that isn’t a complete dummy. That’s all he needs.

  • tom

    In case you havent noticed
The Hornets are phasing him out
You dont see lin in the hornets highlights anymore

  • blubell

15 pts, 3 steals (reached career 400 stls!), 22 mins.

  • LinMad

politics killed something that could have been special.

  • zxcvb

So frustrating. Ruined the Knicks too. Everyone lost.

  • occupatio

    impressive

  • LinMad

They want Kemba to be All Star but he’s not even top 10 with his stats. Yet here they are still tailoring to KW while Lin is the only bench player who made it to top 10 ASG ballot and is still there.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You should not care about what the Hornets’ PR thinks. Putting Lin ahead of Kemba as player of the game will open the gate of giving him the team PG duty controversy.

  • Dorothy

    Lin limping heavily

  • zxcvb

Should try to fake a bigger injury. Sit out, let this team crash and burn.

  • CJSHYY

Really? I think maybe that’s why Cliff didn’t put him back again.

  • Barry Allen

Well Lin signed up with them knowing Kemba would be the main PG. I dunno what they promised him, but I never understood that decision. He’s making the best of a bad situation imo.

  • CJSHYY

His team already crash & burn.

  • LinMad

I want Lin to rest a few games now. I think he’s putting too much effort for this team while getting little in return. Too many players on this team who just wants to shoot and not do the things their role is supposed to do.

  • zxcvb

No other options. Memphis was the only decent offer and no guaranteed time there.

  • JJ Hui

This is the Hornets way to lose a game, Kaminsky played selfish, Hawe and Zeller not shooting well n it never win!

  • Briiick

Time to vote for Lin again !

  • zxcvb

Oh you haven’t seen anything yet! Without Lin, they’d turn into the Sixers. Losing by 20-30 every game. This 4Q was just a preview.

Good start to the quarter so far by JLin. Let’s hope we get to see an appearance by Mr. Fourth Quarter tonight.” Cliff said, “I cannot not Lin shine over Kemba”, and so he toke Lin out and Hornets loss big.

  • sws94

The world is not a conspiracy against Lin.

  • JJ Hui

Yeah, no point to sacrify for a non play off team!

  • zxcvb

Just to spite CHA…it’s worth it. Watching them throw away game after game because they’re afraid to bench Kemba is pathetic. Who cares if he gets individual stats if you keep losing? Let Lin play his position. He’ll give you stats AND wins. Kemba would score more efficiently too with Lin as PG.

  • occupatio

team is already crashing and burning…

  • Sinfinite

It is a conspiracy. But Cliff took Lin out to protect him from it. The Refs were about to shut Lin down.

  • MoominFloren

OK time to watch some fun basketball
    Go warriors
    Go 76ers

  • aras

all these conspiracy theories are getting worn out seriously might as well say the illuminati is after lin

  • tom

    They needed height
I have no doubt in my mind that Clifford wanted to play Lin

  • BobbyH

By the end of January, if Hornets is 3 -13 (1-8 as of now) for the month, they should consider trading Lin. Keeping Lin would ultimately stir some interesting discussions about games like tonight. Why Walker has to play PG if Lin can do better?

  • tom

    Can’t really trade him
    His salary is too low

  • BobbyH

Never say never. Circumstances could surface that a playoff bound team might need an urgent service of Lin.

  • occupatio

its unfortunate that, aside from lin, there is little joy to be had watching the hornets. its not even about them losing games; they are just not a fun team to watch. no brilliance, no surprises. just the same old same old.

  • tom

But their pick wont be as good not sure if the hornets would do them a favor
I can see the grizzlies and Bulls going for him

  • NONONO

Taking Lin out for height would be bad excuse because Kemba is shorter and he was worse on the both ends after first 2 mins . Why not take Kemba out?

  • Phillycheese

Can definitely trade him since teams in playoff hunt would value what Lin would bring. His cheap contract makes him attractive. Just that Hornets would not get same value.

  • blubell
  • occupatio

that makes too much sense. therefore it wont ever happen.

  • james brown

    they will trade JLIN..LOL!

  • LinMad

like MJ said, they look disconnected from each other. They just want to score buckets. Whoever scores the most. What they should be doing is letting Lin play PG so we can get easier buckets for everyone. But the bigs here suck so it’s just harder for Lin to do anything here. The only thing Lin can really do well on this team is defense. For offense, we just have too many options that Lin usually waits till 4th qtr before he’s given a chance to score a lot.

  • BobbyH

Yes, change all other 3 except Walker and Batum.

  • NONONO

Trade Kemba + AL for Tyson

  • golfhacker

Hairston won’t be starting. That’s my guess. Nothing earth shattering.

  • james brown

    like this

  • CJSHYY

Maybe bc MKG is coming back soon… I think nothing to do w Lin. He will stay w 2nd unit.

  • occupatio

i hope so. because i am bored as heck watching this team play.

  • james brown

    cliff’s resigning!

  • LinMad

Better start training your bigs to be bigs. We clearly saw how weak our bigs today were in the paint. They killed us with PnRs. Bigs don’t know where to be. They think they’re guards cause they’re shooting so much.

  • NONONO

that is better. Do not wait until MJ gets mad.

  • grover chang

Walker really holding this franchise back. Analogous to a team choosing the wrong quarterback for football. Could be a bad team for years. Biggest problem with walker is he should play sg, but he us too short. So everyone is in no man’s land on offense and he is a liability in defense.

  • tom

“I don’t think any one on our bench can be in there(starting line up) and play big minutes”
he was basically saying that they lost because Middleton kept scoring on Lin
“If they go small, Jeremy Lin can definitely complete…”

    from Clifford post game

  • sws94

Because Kemba is the starting PG, he’s leading in PPG and other stats. Lin should not have been taken out as he was the best player on the floor when he was. It was a strategic mistake by Cliff. Nobody was stopping Middleton from scoring so they needed to deny him the ball, triple team him, whatever was needed to cool him off. The one-on-one against anyone wasn’t working. We’ll see how good MKG is, if he can cool off guys like Middleton when he gets back.

  • grover chang

True. Walker is like a short melo. Good at getting shots, but lose anyways.

  • occupatio

    what?

  • CJSHYY

If he saw Middleton kept scoring why he didn’t let Batum or anyone else to guard him earlier…? Bucks commentators said Lin vs Middleton it’s mismatch since 1st half… smh!

  • MoominFloren

What? Nevermind, Lin will be gone after 44 games

  • LinMad

I think he’s trying to justify why Lin got low minutes and why starters got a lot of minutes.

But did the bigger players in Hornets do a better job? What about Kemba?

  • tom

    dont shoot the messenger

  • sws94

    compete, not complete?

  • BobbyH

Fom this comment, I can tell that Cliff has no clue how to deal with games situations other than using size. He forget there is another size that matters more, the size of brain. You solve problems with your head, not size.

  • occupatio

given how well middleton was shooting, i dont think anyone would have bothered him. and when lin left, no one bothered middleton.

he was just on fire tonight.

  • blubell
  • tom

    compete yah

  • tom

He said they had a better chance when they went big

  • grover chang

I was screaming inside. Bucks are long. If you want more size then get the shortest guy on the court off, I.e.walker and let Lin play point. Don’t leave the player who is truly less then 6 feet in there to play when you need size.

  • LinMad

I didn’t see it. Cause whenever Lin came out, we started to trail a lot. When Lin was in we were down by 4 pts?

  • CJSHYY

W Batum he’s still scoring….Cliff should just double team or send big guys on him… he had no idea what to do. smh!

  • NONONO

so, it was Lin’s fault or Lin’s weak defense? He sounds like BS now. Put 6.3 to guard 6.9 , of cause it mismatch created by Clifford from the beginning.

  • tom

oh well thats steve clifford for you

  • MoominFloren

Kemba is tiny and got blocked 4 times….

  • sws94

Not really. Lin got them back in the game. He needed to double Middleton.

  • blubell
  • CJSHYY

What? Now he started to blame the players…smh!

Defenseless Hornets Lost Again; Glimpses of Linsanity

    http://www.jlinportal.com/defenseless-hornets-lost-again-glimpses-of-linsanity/

The Hornets defense was exposed again as they lost to 92-105 to Milwaukee Bucks.
    – Defense was a problem again since no one is stopping the Bucks from attacking the rim.
    – Fatigue might be a factor as they played a back-to-back game.
    – Glimpses of Linsanity was seen in the beginning of 4th quarter as he played as the PG to lead 7-0 run with scoring 4pts on 2 drives plus a drive & kickout to Kemba on the perimeter who passed to Frank on a wide-open 3pt shot. The Bucks lead was cut to 6 pts (78-84)
    – But 6’8″” Khris Middleton was hot shooting scoring on 6’3″JLin who gave up a lot in height. He scored 4pts to extend the lead back to 10pts (88-78)
    – Coach Clifford replaced Lin with Batum to help defend Middleton but the strategy backfired since they still can’t stop Middleton and lost the offensive momentum without Lin. The Bucks made 14-3 run to extend the lead to 22pts (102-81) with 3:49 left before Clifford sat the starters
    – They should have replaced Kemba with Batum so Lin can guard 6’6″ MCW and Batum can guard Middleton
but Clifford can’t bench Kemba as the established starter in the middle of pursuit of All-Star votes. It’s bad coaching although politically might be correct.

The Hornets are in danger of giving up on the season as the big men are unable to play good defense. On the positive for JLin, he was able to show offensive momentum with drive and penetration despite the bad ankle IF he is trusted as the PG.

    By psalm234

  • occupatio

    indeed

  • Alain Gervais

    this is confusing

  • tom

    He also mentioned that
He said if you start doubling a guy everything goes south you cant get rebs and stuff…

  • grover chang

Lin is not perfect, but you are right he plays like a winner. Lin always plays hard and finds ways to contribute for a win. That’s why I love him. There is no quit in Lin.

  • Briiick

    He lost the team.

  • tom

    Its more of a mismatch
Lin would still finish a lot of games

  • sws94

Basically, Lin could compete against touch guys but Middleton was just too tall for him. I don’t know exactly about the starting lineup/minutes part of the statement. Have to hear it in context.

  • LinMad

that’s cause you refuse to let Lin play PG. Lin at PG would make everyone look better. Even Hawes.

  • tom

    yah no shtttt lol
cuz you aint making any improvements

  • LinMad

Mismatch on defense, Lin did well on offense. Most points in 21 minutes.

  • tom

thats when he was asked about changes to the rotation
He said Frank cant start yet and no one on the bench can really go out there and play big minutes be effective on both sides

  • tom

but they needed to make stops

  • sws94

It’s not about 1 player. It’s the whole team that needs to improve. But it is up to Cliff to find answers as well. And Lin doesn’t make Hawes look much bette most of the time and we have a big enough sample size. Hawes messes things up for Lin and anyone because he doesn’t really know how to play the game correctly.

  • LinMad

ya but how many times did a big come to help Lin? They know it’s a mismatch but don’t come to help. That’s on coach and the other players.

  • sws94

Lin can, he just doesn’t want to start him. He needs a bench and it isn’t much of a bench without Lin. Lin plays with starters a lot anyway. Sometimes Lin doesn’t have the size for 2 guard, that’s the only thing.

  • LinMad

ya i know the bigs suck on this team.

  • sws94

But the size difference was the problem. Plus, Middleton was hot. He scored on everyone, not just Lin.

  • LinMad

starting line up has been the same all season and we get beat in the 1st quarter like 90% of the time. Also Cliff likes to strip all the good players from the 2nd unit and put them in 1st unit but still get beat by opposing team’s starting lineup. Zeller + Lin used to be a good combo in preseason and early season.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The lost is of course on Coach Clifford.
He only has eight deep in his roster right now with Jeremy Lamb out for injury.
He played Hairston, Roberts with Lin, Kaminsky and Hawes. This combination has led to a disastrous 2nd Q.

In this team, Brian Roberts and Troy Daniels are not competitive enough to be an NBA player. There are only 3 bench players that can stay with other teams on the court; namely, Lin, Kaminsky and Hawes. This is only an 8 deep team now.

    So if Clifford
let Marvin Williams, Hairston to play with Lin, Hawes and Kaminsky or
let Batum, Walker, with Lin, Hawes, Kaminsky
I don’t think the disastrous 2nd Q would have happened.

At this moment, Clifford has to rotate Batum, Walker with Hairston, Williams for the 2nd unit to rest the first unit.. Hairston is basically a SG. Williams can be a 3 or 4. Lin should be the PG to run the offense for the bench.
The second choice is to have Walker, Lin, Batum, Cody, Kaminsky, Hawes playing for the 2nd unit.

In fact Clifford can do teaming as follows:

Walker, Batum, Cody, Marvin Williams, Hairston (rest Lin, Hawes, Kaminsky)
Lin, Hawes, Kaminsky, Hairston, Williams (rest Cody, Walker, Batum)
Lin, Hawes, Kaminsky, Walker, Batum (rest, Cody, Hairston, Marvin Williams)
Walker, Batum, Cody, Marvin Williams, Lin (rest Hairston, Hawes, Kaminsky)

Putting Roberts and Daniels in has been proved disastrous!

  • tom

and Kemba is even shorter but there arent many team that will force Lin out like the bucks did tonight
and I’m pretty sure Clifford wants to play Lin

  • tom

Yep but it was obvious a mismatch
I understand why clifford did what he did he was still trying to win

  • LinMad

MJ should start coaching this team.

  • LAJane

    ankle wrecking…for what?

  • Alain Gervais

Cliff is basically saying he don’t want to start Lin at sg. Mostly because of match up issues

  • LAJane

I hope that was his plan. But if so, they’ve had plenty of previous opportunities to notice getting outplayed. Even MJ’s pep talk hasn’t stuck.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Because Brian Roberts wasn’t competent enough for the 2nd unit. Clifford put in Hairston + Roberts to team with Lin, Hawes, Kaminsky. The result was pathetic.
    He should only use

Williams, Hairston with Lin, Kaminsky and Hawes.
or Walker, Batum with Lin, Kaminsky, and Hawes.

Walker, Batum, Cody, Williams, Hairston was OK
Walker, Batum, Cody, Williams, Lin was better
Walker Batum, Cody, Kaminsky, Lin was acceptable.

These are the five teams that coach Clifford may use on the court!

  • sws94

2 guards that are taller than Lin can shoot over him regardless of how well Lin Ds them up. When going small, Lin is an effective defender. Lin is an in-between player for Cliff. In between 1 and 2, but mostly used off-ball, starter and 6th man, but used as spot starter. If we as Lin fans accept that and that Cliff will try to maximize him as such, that’s what he is on the team until he decides he wants to leave it, they trade him or his contract option expires. If not, we’ll just pine for him to be elsewhere and find fault with the coach and other players.

  • Alain Gervais

    yup.

  • LinMad

Then make him PG instead of Roberts. Problem solved.

There is no way that Roberts is a better facilitator than Lin.

  • Alain Gervais

    This is way left field

  • LinMad

Batum plays a lot with Lin even when Lin is the SG., So just move Batum to SG and Lin can be PG.

  • sws94

If Lin was 6’6″, he’d start.

  • but he’s 6’6″ with the Mohawk :]
    Next month he’ll be 6’7″

  • sws94

Hee hee. He needs arm extenders. Cliff answered nothing. What’s he going to do. Anyway, it’s not that many teams that will have 6’8″ shooting guards.

  • sws94

Cliff played into J Kidd’s hands. The Bucks had no answer for Lin and he was getting in a groove. The foul was only his 4th in the 4Q so he didn’t need to come out. Cliff needed to change defensive assignments, going big didn’t slow down Middleton and took out a big offensive force in the game.

  • sws94

I do too. But really, Lin was playing with force. He should have come up with another solution that keeps Lin in the game.

  • fatbob

    mike tyson? Good idea

  • sws94

    It was the wrong move.

  • sws94

That’s not what Cliff is going to do. We’ll say this all season if we don’t accept that Lin plays SG with the starters, not PG. Lin plays PG when Kemba doesn’t play and only then.

  • sws94

Hot seat because the team isn’t winning. Lin is in the lineup most of the time in crunch situations. He’s not getting in the hot seat for playing Kemba at PG. That’s not realistic.

  • TTNN

no, there are plenty of time Robert play PG when Kemba doesn’t play. Don’t get why coach always play Lin off ball, and he should know Lin is better on ball, and Kemba is better off ball.

  • sws94

I think Lin will pick it up post-ASB. Shooting, assists. As long as his back is ok and his ankle gets back to close to normal, I think he will. He needs a mental break now and look at his team mates and how he fits. Then he’ll put it in gear, I think. There are signs, he did some good things tonight and played good defense against a guy that was out of his height range to guard.

  • TheRealTruth

I am increasingly becoming concerned with his ankle. Sometimes rest and rehab needs more time. He doesn’t move as fast, but Lin is playing like a Warrior (no pun intended) and he knows his health better than anyone.

  • TheRealTruth

Get a big man that can actually catch and finish on the pick and roll, especially considering that they considered Lin for that. I’m sorry but Spencer Hawes at 7’1″ plays super soft. How many times do we have to see him get spoon fed and miss easy shots under the basket? There are guys in the D-League the Hornets can call up and Lin would help flourish.

  • yup, they got 1 blowout and then stopped.
Maybe they need 1 pep talk for every 8-game losing streak LOL
