G28 BOS @CHA Game Thread

Jeremy has played very well in the last 5 games averaging 17pts/4.4ast/3.8reb with 52%FG and 40% 3FG.

The Celtics is another tough matchup and 2 quick quards in Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley.

The Hornets would need to shoot better and defend the 3pt shooting if they want to win this game

Let’s go, JLin! Let’s continue to shoot at least 10 FG  & 4 FT attempts. Relax, be your aggressive self & just play your game on matter what happens

    Hello

  • Is it you, Adele? =)

  • heart

Have a good game tonight LIN!

  • Michael

    First!

  • KHuang

    I pick Boston to win.

Kemba Walker and Nicholas Batum are too selfish to run Clifford’s offense.

Not even Lin and the vaunted Charlotte bench can overcome Walker and Batum’s poor play every game.

  • kauaiblue

I cant believe how slow batum is… he lumbers around, cant defend, and is expected to run the offense? Dumb coaching…

  • heart

Cho wants NB to be SG starter according to an article I read. It’s a high probability that Cliff is carrying Cho’s order. So Cho’s judgement is also questionable…

  • kauaiblue

They picked the wrong guy to push to be all star… they got an allstar right under their nose and they pick batum… smh

  • heart

    Exactly!

  • kauaiblue

    Probably orders from jordan…

  • heart

    That too!

  • Dorothy

Psalm, Please keep us updated about Paul’s laptop situation.
KHuang: $500 for an used IBM compatible is a lot of money, if Mac is even more expensive then I think Psalm should set up GoFundMe

  • Charlie S

If it weren’t for dumb foul calls, JLin would have had another great game. Now we’re back at home, I’m feeling another vintage JLin performance 🙂

  • Charlie S

Also an encouraging trend in the month of December. Min up, FG% up. 3pt % up. Assists up.

  • Charlie S

    From the other side

  • adele

Psalm, I don’t use another name other than my real name. I use my real name.

  • rookie75094

Tommy Hinson the Celtics announcer is a Celtics Homer borderline racist…. I remember when Yao Ming was playing the celts and hurt his fingers…Hinson said..good I hope he break his fingers so he can’t hold his chop sticks…I hated him since.

  • blueCypher

Wow, he really said that. What a ….

  • FrankW

It depends on the computer. Kids dropped that much and more just for a graphics card on a game machine. Hope Paul fix his puter and hope JLIn continues with his good play.

  • rookie75094

Yup…I never forget hearing that on TV…but he was never called out for that

Addressing some of the criticism of the Charlotte management regarding Lin’s role/playing time and politics:

It’s really all about how MKG fits into all of this.

MKG (SF) and Kemba (PG) are the two locks for the team going forward. Batum was one of the best options in free agency at the time for the Hornets and trying to get Batum to fit into the SG position is an understandable plan. Getting Batum to resign is the front office’s #1 priority.

Hairston is literally a placeholder for MKG- the way the offense/defense is set up, the way the rotations work are all centered around MKG coming back healthy and swapping Hairston for essentially an upgrade in every possible facet.

So where does this leave Lin? Well Lin was a low-risk high-reward player for the Hornets; and even at his rather lackluster early-season production he was a steal and was praised for “playing well” across the league even if we Lin fans know he is capable of much more (last 5 games: 17pts/4.4ast/3.8reb with 52%FG and 40% 3FG: this is what I expect of him on a daily basis). We have seen Lin’s usage and minutes go up and up with every game and as of right now Lin’s role is where I expected it to be, just that it took 25 games longer than I hoped. Again this is what I expect Lin’s role to be on a nightly basis and from here it should only increase. This is because Charlotte and Los Angeles are in completely different situations (I wrote on LA here last season: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/2xxg7s/byron_kobe_and_jeremy_a_curious_tale_of_tanking/). After heavy injuries the Lakers decided to go for the pick and spend an entire season experimenting with lineups / playstyles (NOT just lose every game as many fans believed). This is why Lin got the chance to be the guy for a few games to run PnR with Ed Davis all day (which ironically put the Lakers on their season-high winning streak and had to be terminated). Charlotte actually has an interest in winning (which ideally in my opinion should always be the primary focus of every NBA team) and they will and have recognized player contributions and adjusted for them. Don’t forget to notice that Jeremy Lamb, who just signed a 3yr/$21mil extension with Charlotte has seen his minutes drop at least 30% recently.

It’s been a tough few seasons for Lin and his fans (us); some people have used the term PTSD and while I apologize for the sensitivity of the subject, it really is quite apt at describing the ride Lin’s NBA career has been. The difference this time is that Lin had a choice in his unrestricted free agency and chose Charlotte. If he trusts that he can best show both his talent and hard work here with the Hornets, I believe we as fans owe Lin the same persevering patience that Lin himself has been exercising.

Let’s go Lin, show everyone what you’re capable of- one game at a time.

  • FrankW

Its like the African farmer who wanted to gold prospecting, so one day he sold the farm and go for it but little did he know years later his farm had one of the richest gold deposits in Africa. It was all along under his nose.

  • heart

Bravo to Greg. Excerpt from Greg, Sportige on 23 Dec 2015, ‘Jeremy Lin Role on Charlotte Hornets Heading Into Christmas”. Link: http://sportige.com/jeremy-lin-role-on-charlotte-hornets-heading-into-christmas-89334/
“Walker isn’t a franchise player. Maybe he wants to be. Maybe the Hornets want him to be. But in the end, he’s just a scoring guard with plenty of issues, including obscene ones on defense which have a lot to do with effort after two or three times in which he gets torched by a ball handler. However, Walker never gets time off to think about what he’s done. Be it a string of misses, be it bad defense, be it falling into his old habits of selfish play. He’s almost untouchable, and when an above average scorer but very limited one gets that kind of treatment from a head coach/front office, it can’t be good for a team.
Once again, we’re always trying to understand if there are indications the Lin status is changing.”

  • FrankW

Are you Pink Floyd from The Dark Side Of The Moon?

  • FrankW

Hope so if he continues with his good game trajectory and
put a lid on that little guy.

  • FrankW

PER up, ranking up, value up.

  • NONONO

“Charlotte actually has an interest in winning”. I am not sure about it after MKG injured. They wanted to win, they were surprised by ranking #2 last week. But I don’t think they were as desperated to win as before Cliff got the contract extension. Cliff was dare to sit Kemba and AL for two close games in 4th quarter and they won both. But he never did that again after he got the contract extension. I really do not think it is a coincidence.

  • NONONO

    hair up and down.

  • KHuang

Even if one paid $200 for a laptop, the Windows updates would get it up to $500 or more anyway.

At least with Mac OSX, you get enough free built in software to not have to spend an extra penny.

  • KHuang

Batum is a TERRIFIC small forward.

The coaches should stick him there and leave him there.

  • NONONO

When Cliff let Batum handle the ball, did Lin play forward? Ball never goes to his direction.

  • JoeTeam

Lin would be an above avg scorer if he were given the same privileges/opportunity and the whole team would have winning force while he’s at it.

  • JoeTeam

I’m in, on the patience thing. Good post … are you the guy who ran the reddit Lin area for about a year or 2? Welcome if you are new here. I hadn’t noticed your posts before.

  • JoeTeam

    hmmm …

  • JoeTeam

that’s pretty offensive. … That one calls for a “Thank you, that’s might wh__te of you.” We had that joke going around our college apartment with 2 white guys and 2 of us asians. It was pretty funny, to be able to call each other out. We’re still friends today, except one of us got pretty right politically and it’s hard to have fun when he’s railing on Obama’s race every 8 minutes. He’s the asian one, and immigrant, an that’s ironic and sad at the same time.

  • FrankW

I like it up but need better hair gel for overtime.

  • FrankW

Apples makes very reliable computers but on the expensive side. Windows machines are cheaper and have more options and great if you want to configure to your own needs. Windows machines have more software and hardware options – open system. As an example you could even get a dual trace oscilloscope emulation card for it and much more, pretty cool and cheaper than the real oscilloscopes. I have not updated any Windows software in a decade other than the operating system. Also many windows software are in the public domain – free. $200 laptop would run very slow if it runs at all under Win7, 8 or 10. Linux maybe the way to go, all apps are free anyways, I think.

  • rookie75094

Are you comfortably numb ? …oh how I wish you were here…hehe

  • FrankW

I think Lin guarded a forward and a forward guarded Lin for sure. They put the best guards on Lin.

  • NONONO

i know. he had to run into locker room to fix his hair during 47mins game with Raptors.

  • Acbc

What is euphemism for tanking again? Oh yeah, experiment with line up. Didn’t Mchale say the same thing when he was trying out starting rotations? When Lin and Davis started to win games that’s when the experimenting started. Please, Lakers wanted to tank and got their just deserts with karma. BS is always BS no matter how you dress it up.

  • NONONO

somehow the opponent teams always know Lin was the biggest threat to them. But Cliff does not know!?

  • Acbc

Well you know when you eat too much of that bean town beans, you wind up farting from the wrong end. Lol

  • FrankW

I’m numb but not comfortably when bad calls on Lin. BTW, great music in those days.

  • NONONO

But your “hello” is popular these days

  • rookie75094

    She got psalm at hello….lol

  • CJSHYY
  • NONONO

Hornets is the one and only in the best “location”? it could switch with Celtics in the map if Cliff would not make some adjustment on Lin’s role tonight.

  • FrankW

Lin almost killed the Spurs with 38 points without Harden the season before, and then BS DNP-CD Lin when the Spurs game came up. Was that tanking or was that just stupid?

  • Spot

I think he was talking about the singer 😀

  • FrankW

Before my time but found the article referenced to it. Looks like he just mouthed off to everyone.

*** Sincere as it may be, his shtick occasionally produces cringe-worthy moments. During a Celtics-Rockets game last March, he channeled Harry Doyle in Major League, telling the audience that the officials were “going for every—every—goddamn flop.” He did add, “Excuse the language.” After Yao Ming injured his hand against Boston in March 2007, Heinsohn wondered if the Rockets center had hurt “his chopstick finger.” Then there was the time in 1997 when Heinsohn joked that Dikembe Mutombo was “going back to Africa for the weekend. He’s going to hunt him a lion or two.” ***

    http://deadspin.com/5875522/the-homer-in-winter-in-defense-of-tommy-heinsohn

  • FrankW

Of those five, Hornets has the advantage of being younger. Wow, really?
Mama said paid attention to Venn diagrams, LOL.

  • sws94

What a stupid man. That’s horrible. Didn’t know he said that.

  • sws94

Definite racist fool. Go put him out somewhere, he’ll never learn.

  • Yascar

How do people get away with that? Serious question. I worked in the UK for many years and any hint of racism in the workplace would get anyone in serious trouble. I was in HR and I had to investigate and eventually got a COO and another GM fired for statements more benign than that.

  • FrankW

He’s 6’6″ but only 200 pounds, so why he is not faster?

  • hehe.. yeah, I was referring to the song
But you’re welcome to sing too 🙂

  • Charlie S

We all know this but looking at the chart, Hornets are one of the best teams in terms of point differential when JLin is running the show.

    http://i.imgur.com/oMgGsmv.png

  • rookie75094

I wonder if he is gonna tell Jlin to go back to China instead of Palo alto…lol

  • JoeTeam

hey everybody … have fun tonight. Holiday Cheer! I trust you will all hold the fort down, faith in Lin, and he will Linsanity it just because he won’t be called so easily this game.

  • izalongnight

man you guys are crazy…no wonder the houston rockets board, the lakers board, everyone hates lin because you guys keep saying dumb stuff like this. Lin will be the starter when he proves he is the starter. Im not talking about 5 or 10 games…im talking about one whole season, 82 games. WHEN and IF he proves that, he can become the starting PG.

  • Spot

Best player on the team. He doesn’t start.

    Answer that.

  • izalongnight

hes not the best player on the team!! He has had SOME games where he is the best player on the team, but most of the games so far he is not the best player on the team…maybe 2nd or 3rd. Also lin doesn’t start…so what? The coach has good reasons for that. The fact is, lin is getting paid $2 million an year but hes playing more minutes recently than most starters. last 4 games he played more than batuum…the only player on the team getting MORE minutes is kemba. Nobody else. Stil you guys are acting crazy about “starting”. What does that matter when he gets a ton of minutes?

Yea its that simple. Whoever IT is guarding (Kemba/Lin) needs to relentlessly attack him cuz he’s a TERRIBlE defender. Lin was driving by him every chance he got but was mitigated cuz Lin was usually consigned to the corner and IT gets a free pass on D while Kemba gets smothered up by Bradley who’s an EXCELLENT defender. Cliff really screwed up there by not shifting the focus of attack onto Lin when IT is in there. Once IT is out then it really hurts their offense as he was literally scoring at will in the 2nd half. Kemba couldnt check him at all cuz his legs were totally shot and IT got to rest on D.

Gonna see if Cliff is continuing the adjustment where Lin subs in earlier, gonna be interesting to see if it helps Lin get off to stronger starts and able to maintain it into the 2nd half, which sadly he usually doesnt, except against HOU.

  • rookie75094

Ton of misused minutes…. there I fix it for you.

  • Spot

Oh really? Prove me that with stats.

  • Acbc

She meant don’t use her name in vain. Lol

  • heart

Don’t bother to debate w/ that poster. He has lost the argument once he calls Lin fans name! He can’t read that this is an excerpt from Greg, Sportige writer who has the courage to speak truth to the public. That poster cannot handle the truth!

  • rookie75094

    Already flag him….troll alert!!

  • izalongnight

why do I have to prove anything, why dont you prove to ME that he is the best on the team, find the information on google, and show me what makes you think lin has played better than the other players on the team the WHOLE season. Not 1 or 2 games, but the entire season so far.

  • rookie75094

He is definitely not among ” a few good men” …hehe

  • izalongnight

lol, im a big lin fan, not a hater. But i can’t stand crazy unreasonable fans like you who believe in fantasies

  • heart

uh oh, cue: ‘im a big lin fan..’ who also said that and it turned out otherwise? BS!

  • sws94

People express things here. Not that what you said about basketball considerations and Lin on this team isn’t invalid but some fans want him to start. I agree with some of your points but I don’t agree in coming to a Lin forum and starting up on people. You can make your points without the labeling. Thank you.

  • rookie75094

And a lazy troll at that..expecting ” crazy Lin fans” to do research for him…hahaha

  • sws94

The spirit of the board is just to make points and not make things personal. A mod can either post it or maybe another poster can lead you to it. If you follow here and debate on points, cool. If you name call, not cool. It’s just how you make your points.

  • Acbc

I saw them live on the “wish you were here” tour. They opened the show with the intro of the album with quad speakers for those 4 huge notes to “welcome my friends”. They later did most of the “dark side of the moon” album with a video playing on a giant screen behind them. It’s was an amazing show.

  • izalongnight

you guys thinking who ever speaks some bit of truth are trolls, loll. There are some crazy fans here who worship lin like he is a god, then there are the normal fans who appreciate lin for his talent and skills, and dont try and make him into something he is not.

  • sws94

They shouldn’t. They just shouldn’t. Any corporation with guts gives him a warning the first time and makes him humble himself in apologize and shows him the door the second time he does it. I have ZERO tolerance for bigots.

  • izalongnight

what name calling or personal insults have I said? Calling someone crazy is name calling nowadays? If a person acts crazy then you call him crazy. I would like to keep this about lin, but not be called a troll for my own point of views.

  • sws94

OT psalm but we have a new poster here that could benefit reading the spirit of the site rules. Perhaps you can post it for them. Thanks in advance if you can.

  • rookie75094

Wishing Jlin become a starter is worshiping him like a god….a bit over dramatic aren’t we?..hehe

  • sws94

It’s not considered in the spirit of the site. If you want to know more see a poster with a mod designation on their name.

  • heart

Speaking for myself, I don’t “worship lin like he is a god” as the poster below said. That is very far from the truth and the assumption that this poster made. No wonder this poster cannot handle the truth when it is exposed by someone else.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Interesting that guy used Cliff instead of Clifford. He must a visitor here or maybe not.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Wake up longnight. Stop allowing the insiders telling who you should praising for.

  • Spot

You did have to prove it since you came here claiming we are crazy. Anyway, there’s no problem.

Lin and Kemba have same FG percentage 43% (Lin better on 2, Kemba on 3). Kemba got ton of plays for him though. Despite that, if you look at Points per shot, Lin is 5th among nba’s PG with 1.30. Kemba is 11th with 1.23.

Jeremy, per 100 possession, is a better shot blocker, same stealers and got less assists cause he barely plays PG.

There are other users who can give you other stats too. Not one of them unfortunately.

    Your turn now. Your stats.

  • Vincent Lee

Hey thanks- appreciate that. The subreddit wasn’t me but I was subscribed for a while. I usually stay out of comments and have conversations with myself. Felt like chiming in this time 🙂

  • Spot

Oh yes, it’s insulting. Especially since these crazy people debunk all your lies.

Again, prove we are crazy and act like crazy.

  • John Focker

2012-2013 Lin started with Houston Rockets for the season. If you don’t think he did well next to Harden, just look at how Ty Lawson is doing now and then we’ll chat.

  • NONONO

It shows the starters always dig big holes in 1st and 3rd quarters.

  • for me, about your comment, it was less the specific words and more the fact that it was mean spirited. there are plenty of people on this site who don’t think Lin’s the best player, and not everybody agrees with Sportige. People do express their disagreement.

The purpose of this blog is to have a more positive environment, and going up to anybody and saying, “You guys keep saying dumb…” is not conducive to a positive environment.

  • xeroid

We true Lin fans do not go to Rockets, Lakers, or Hornet’s board. We only discuss Lin on Lin’s board. Only people like you go to other’s board to spread worthless trash.

  • izalongnight

i have to say, the fans at jeremylin .net are not as ridiculous as on linportal

  • NONONO

Their coaches’s stats (one got fired and the other soon) and team performances so far have proved Lin fans are ALWAYS right.

  • Spot

Prove that. C’mon, you can do better than insulting people

  • LinMad

how do you explain McHale getting fired and Dwight wanting to leave the Rockets? Oh ya, and Lakers tanking again. Will get worse record than last season.

Fantasies are real. Prove me you are the one who lives in re world

im done, im gonna watch the game lol. You’re getting too sensitive about this

  • Spot

You still don’t answer with stats. Again, prove what you are saying.

    experiment again

  • Alain Gervais

he is not the defense are purposely leaving him open or atleast not making him a priority

Celtics commentator said: “There’s a reason they’re giving him (PJ) open shots. He just hasn’t figured it out yet!”

  • LinMad

    Horrible transition defense

  • Fevers End

0 for infinity might be a reason.

  • 1mtoldman

based on last game and this game apparently hornets offense has degenerated into pj hairston shooting 3’s.

  • NONONO

same old same old. starters digging big hole…

  • LinMad

I guess Cliff thinks cause they dont’ really defend PJ, PJ should shoot it. But 3 times a row is a bit too much.

  • 1mtoldman

its just the same old story.

  • LinMad

This is a sign that coach lost faith in Kemba/Batum’s shooting and wants PJ to shoot more.

    lol

    Lin in

  • CaliUSMC

wait why is Lin in so early?

  • LinMad

Lin needs to be PG though. I feel like ball movement is a bit chaotic

Lin in early, no more excuses tonight.

  • occupatio

    i said why below

Thanks. A step in the right direction… lets see how Jeremy is used tonight.

  • occupatio

they stupid to not give Lin endless screens to attack IT.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

  • LinMad

I swear the bigs are killing us today. We got four 3 second violations already.

  • CJSHYY

Even Lin came in early but didn’t touch the ball that much…. smh!

  • John Focker

Lin was brought in early solely for D to stop the starters’ leak.

  • LinMad

Ya, Keep Frank, bring in Tyler for Hawes. We need more screening too. If Cliff wanted to Lin can attack the basket repeatedly and we’d be in better shape.

  • occupatio

team gets few transition opportunities cuz kemba doesnt pass the ball up but has to dribble it himself. passing is faster than dribbling, cliff.

  • CJSHYY

Why Kemba is still in? smh!

  • John Focker

    Clifford doesn’t realize he’s clinging onto a deflated life-saver.

  • LinMad

Let Lin be PG. These passes by Kemba look bad. Frank almost turnovered too cause of Kemba’s bounce pass.

  • Guest

Lin with 3 to already, hornets are regressing

  • CJSHYY

Cliff wants Lin to be SG like Raptors game but he didn’t get the ball that much w Kemba on court w him. smh!

  • LinMad

Coach should let Lin get in rhythm.

  • NONONO

for whatever reason, cliff does not want Lin play pg

  • Alain Gervais

    3 what?

  • LinMad

    turnovers

  • occupatio

in real terms yes, but they didnt lose possession on like 2 of them, so 2 TOs.

  • CJSHYY

    I know… smh!

  • Linsanity2.0

    Kemba still in? whyyy

  • CJSHYY

    Change back to 2 TO.

  • Linsanity2.0

Is Kemba going to play all 48 minutes?

  • sws94

So far, Lin looks out of sync, loose with the ball. Hope he finds his rhythm. Maybe when Kemba sits.

  • NONONO

Clifford overplayed Kemba and does not help the team!!!

  • Alain Gervais

    espn say 2.

  • occupatio

its not the minutes per se, its kemba’s role.

  • Dorothy

    22222222222222222

  • Alain Gervais

    wow

  • JJ Hui

Wow, KW plays the whole first Q and now starting the second, as long as KW running the PG, no matter how he plays, it is not flowing and the result is wasting Lin’s energy. The more minutes KW plays the more chances of losing!

  • What a nice fadeaway jumper by Lin!
    Great patience

  • LinMad

WHOA THAT WAS PRETTY 3 guys on him and he still got it!

  • NONONO

    Kemba joins BS1??? bad!!!

  • LinMad

    Lamb should have passed

  • John Focker

    Tyler! AND Kemba (finally) sits!

  • CJSHYY

    Thanks God, he finally out.

  • NONONO

    Kemba is killing BS1

  • Good D by Lin to challenge 2 players.

  • LinMad

we look d-league right now without a rebound

  • Alain Gervais

    catch the … ball

  • NONONO

Lin has to guard two players?

  • Alain Gervais

it went throw his hand and legs

  • John Focker

Because PJ IS D-League. Playing 4 on 5.

  • blubell

    Sometimes 5…

  • Hornets D is no good right now.
    They need to show urgency

  • Linsanity2.0

Lin is guarding two people at the same time.. what is going on

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Why hawes still playing?

  • CJSHYY

    Bad TO by Lin. smh!

  • Alain Gervais

    hates is really bad today

  • Linsanity2.0

Hawes needs to go.. he is terrible

  • Alain Gervais

    what!!!!

  • LinMad

I don’t understand why Hawes can’t PnR with Lin.

  • Linsanity2.0

Psycho T needs to get Hawes minutes immediately

  • zxcvb

Sarcasm? That was all on Hawes. Lin had a bad one earlier though.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Are u watc hi ng

  • CJSHYY

Bad pass to Hawes… he did that in 1st Q then THanks God, Zeller got it. Why did it again … smh!

  • cdblue10

They are not on the same page at all.

  • LinMad

No more PnR Lin. Just drive in and score.

  • Rzo Vlade

    stop passing to hawes

  • John Focker

Hawes and PJ both. Throw in Zeller too to trade for Ed Davis.

  • JJ Hui

That is why they are Choking!

  • Alain Gervais

I’ve got no reaction. moving on

  • zxcvb

It was a great pass. Great vision, easy layup. Hawes wasn’t paying attention and bobbled it.

  • CJSHYY

Almost the same mistake… tons of guys under the rim… smh!

  • occupatio

and there goes another asiked pass.

  • Alain Gervais

    This guy. thank you

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Not a bad pass his hands are baby size

  • LinMad

ur right, Hawes can’t catch and he’s 0-2 so he ain’t shooting well close up either

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Just shoot the damn ball.

  • cdblue10

I still feel that they’re gonna win this game

  • Zeller in for a bad Hawes today

  • LinMad

Zeller in for Hawes. Hopefully Zeller can catch

  • CJSHYY

    Good.

  • occupatio

lin gets swarmed every time he enters paint. bigs need to grow some hands.

  • John Focker

Can’t possibly do any worse than Hawes.

  • golfhacker

    Slight improvement.

  • using the force, eh?

  • LinMad

    spacing is horrible.

  • Alain Gervais

    lin needs this rest

  • John Focker

Does no one here find it amusing that Boston has a player named Tyler Zeller? LOL

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Lin plays shaky today

  • Linsanity2.0

    Lins out

  • Linsanity2.0

Lin probably done for the half

  • occupatio

lin needs to look for his shot off the pick, instead of looking to pass first.

  • zxcvb

I think he’ll come back with 3/4m left. Needs a rest.

  • John Focker

Lin’s only used for D, his time wasted on Walker and Hawes.

  • CJSHYY

He maybe will be back in for close 2Q.

  • LinMad

oh well, I’m not mad that he’s out. The team has been playing horrible.

  • occupatio

hes not used to what boston is throwing at him.

  • golfhacker

    Brothers.

  • did lin get to play pg after kemba sat down?

  • LinMad

lol Lamb just loses the ball.

  • FrankW

    They are brothers

  • zxcvb

    Stevens outcoaching Clifford. Again.

Clifford letting Batum and Kemba hog while Lin stands in the corner.

Then Stevens swarms Lin whenever he does touch the ball.

  • Alain Gervais

what game are you watching the spacing is bad and the defense is bad as a team. Lin doing as much as he can

  • cdblue10

Celtics coach is smart, after a momentum basket by Hornets he called a time out right away

  • Linsanity2.0

    yeah but for 2 minutes

  • 1mtoldman

pretty much the storyline so far.

  • sws94

Lin wasn’t his best on that stint. Hope he finds his rhythm in the next stint.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Don’t think so. They play iso too much

  • Hornets D gave up too many easy points for Celtics.
They need to fix it first before they can catch up

  • LinMad

cause when Lin finally gets to play PG, Batum/Kemba is sittinng and aint no one else on the court Stevens is afraid of. so he can send 3 guys on Lin if he wanted to. You think Hawes, PJ, Lamb are players that they would put 2 guys on? Nope.

  • cdblue10

It’s hard to get a rhythm if you have a sporadic touches

  • John Focker

I guessed as much. Funny how he has same first name as Hansbrough. Imagine if he joined his brother in Charlotte, even more confusion for announcers on top of the Jeremys.

  • occupatio

boston defense so good. they are only going to give u the midrange j off the pick. lin is not comfortable taking that shot when he sees the opening, unlike kemba.

  • CJSHYY

The whole team are not good. What’s wrong w this team?

  • Alain Gervais

yes they are doing that but our team is dead. no energy at all. no movement on offense. Bigs dropping passes. its much more then that

  • Linsanity2.0

dont know why.. thought he worked on his Midrange J this summer

  • John Focker

    Stevens totally exposing Clifford.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Hawes is so bad both ends

  • cdblue10

And there’s a reason why Pj is always open for a J

  • LinMad

it has to do with spacing too.

  • Linsanity2.0

Houston’s system part of Lins mindset.. either drive or shoot the 3

  • Alain Gervais

    exactly

  • JJ Hui

CC n KW is the main problem, for some reason CC thinks KW is the elite all star player, that ‘s how they lost games after games n still applying the same disaster formula!

  • Linsanity2.0

When Lin was on New york he shot a lot of midrange jumpers… but not anymore ever since he went to Houston

  • occupatio

lin isnt reading it right. hes trying to do things boston wont let him do.

  • Linsanity2.0

Their playing Justin Bieber at TWC.. maybe because of JLin’s interview where he said he liked the Biebs

  • zxcvb

Looks like someone spilled a beer, ha. Taking forever to clean it up.

  • LinMad

or because Justin Bieber is friends with Floyd Mayweather and Floyd Mayweather is friends with IT.

  • zxcvb

    All problems related to ball-stopping.

  • sport

He used to have alot more variety in his offense too, used floaters, midrange jumper, 3s, 360 turnaround against Fisher, and drive to basket every game. Don’t know why he doesn’t do that more often. Just try something new for each shot to keep the defenders guessing.

  • John Focker

Kemba’s SO bad at PG that even Batum the SF-turned-SG is out-PGing him.

  • LinMad

man we had so many chances to catch up to them.

  • blubell

4pts (2-4), 4 rebs, 0 asts, 3 TOs for the half so far.

  • Terrible pass by Lamb led to TO

  • LinMad

hes not PG. I don’t know why he tried to pass it like that

  • cdblue10

Batum and Walker is absolutely not a franchise players, need to abandon this idea and play teAm ball where everyone is a threat to score

  • tom

    Still no Lin?

  • Alain Gervais

Lin getting reading to go in

  • John Focker

He’s panicking, losing PT minutes fast. Doesn’t get shots playing with Walker/Batum, and don’t have decent D to compete with Lin.

  • CJSHYY

    Lin will check in.

  • Dorothy

    Lin in

  • that’s 1 bad decision

  • cdblue10

Used your bodies to backs out

  • Lin in for Lamb

  • NONONO

they should put Cody back for PnR

  • LinMad

Lin needs to drive soon on IT

  • NONONO

    Lamb 0/1 3TOs in 8 mins?

  • LinMad

why aren’t we making any buckets.

  • That huge rebound by Lin was all EFFORT

  • 1mtoldman

this is starting to look like the old rockets game where lins guarding pretty much everybody.

  • cdblue10

It’ll take a Lin to grab a rebound, just pathetic bigs no fundamentals or whatsoever

  • LinMad

good thing both teams can’t make a bucket otherwise we would have been blown out even worse

  • Alain Gervais

missing open shots and dropping passes.

  • Zeller can’t finish inside

Celtics are defending 3pt shooters outside

  • Linsanity2.0

They didnt reward that rebound to Lin.. are u kidding me?

  • LinMad

slow lazy feet. Especially Hawes and Frank on defense.

  • Linsanity2.0

Hornets are shooting 32% that is just abysmal

  • 1mtoldman

    starters are much worse.

  • cdblue10

    Can’t even backs out

  • occupatio

lin needs to stop sagging off his man. IT can shoot, in case he didnt know.

  • Linsanity2.0

Hornets need to start Lin and Kaminsky

  • GoJLin!

    Got changed to Team Rebound

  • Alain Gervais

    fts

  • LinMad

    Lin gets to shoot tho

  • Linsanity2.0

    yeah he helps too much

  • John Focker

Except Batum (3-7), starters shot 3-13. All starters 6-20.

  • Lin 2 FTs, YEAH!

  • LinMad

Lin isn’t on IT no more, he’s on Bradley more than IT.

  • cdblue10

    Ball don’t lie

  • John Focker

    And fire PJ and Hawes.

  • Alain Gervais

hornets have no big blocking center so he has to do that

  • Alain Gervais

all the hops go to boston

  • cdblue10

Batum doesn’t have a peripheral vision

  • LinMad

Lin was opened but Kemba wanted to drive.

  • zxcvb

Kemba and Batum icing Lin out. They’re so desperate to pad their stats.

  • Hornets playing hot-potato with the ball *sigh*

  • tom

Kemba has such narrow vision lol

  • NONONO

Lin’s last rebound does not count?

  • LinMad

crazy pass by Lin lol, i didn’t know u can do that with ur body

  • occupatio

sws, lin had his hands up plenty on last play. no pass, from anyone.

  • blubell

No FGs made… just FTs for the last 6 minutes for both teams…

  • BOS Announcer: “Those were 2 great passes . Lin to Zeller, Zeller touch pass to Frank”

  • zxcvb

Great ball movement there. Need more Lin playmaking.

5’9″ IT on Lin and Clifford refuses to exploit it.

  • blubell

    Tank on fire! lol

  • NONONO

    Lin PG please!!!

  • LinMad

    Lin is the penetrator

  • zxcvb

Lin getting fair calls today! Last game was just hilarious.

  • cdblue10

Give the ball to Lin and some good things will happen

  • JJ Hui

KW not even looking on Lin’s side!

  • Lin smartly drew a foul driving inside. 2 more FTs!

  • LinMad

Lin picking up the scraps and converting it since Kemba/Batum don’t want to pass to Lin

  • CJSHYY

    Ya! Finally.

  • blubell

    4-4 FTs!

  • LinMad

    Frank needs to pass it…

  • cdblue10

    Yeah that’s a defense

  • oh.. come on Frank. You gotta finish the putback *sigh*

  • Alain Gervais

thomas wanted lin and got nothing lol

  • zxcvb

Great D by Lin! IT tried his best moves but Lin recovered to contest the layup.

  • LinMad

I don’t like how the team is playing selfishly now.

  • blubell

    Lin blocked IT 🙂

  • CJSHYY

    Ya! Good to see that…haha!

  • Linsanity2.0

Kaminsky has been Hornets best player 10 pts and 4 rebounds…

  • I thought it was a contest too but got a block 🙂

  • Linsanity2.0

No assists for Lin yet.. they are trapping him at every turn

  • zxcvb

Just let Lin take IT one-on-one. At 5-9, there’s nothing Thomas can do and then Lin can find the open man when help comes.

  • zxcvb

He’s not playing PG. Maybe 3 possessions he was the initiator.

  • LinMad

Lin played PG for like 30 seconds and it was with Hawes who can’t even catch the ball

  • John Focker

    1) Lin not getting to play PG much.
    2) When he does, he’s playing with Hawes and PJ.

  • zxcvb

    Even better.

  • John Focker

But then he will outshine Kemba even more than he already is!

  • LinMad

Frank needs to pass more. He already shot 10 times. Lin has 8 pts on 4 shots.

  • Phillycheese

    Nice block.

  • blubell

Hornets have 2 blocks… from Jeremy and Kemba. Where are the bigs? lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Each team made 11 TOs. Boston fouled 47 times. Hornets fouled 40 times. This is a very physical game.

  • Phillycheese

Frank is taking high percentage shots.

  • Linsanity2.0

yeah hes looking to score today.. normally he passes more

  • sws94

Lin doesn’t fall for shake and bake moves. Lin may get beat off of the dribble, but he recovers great. IT is too smirky, don’t care for him. I used to like his game but he’s gotten too big a swelled head.

  • LinMad

I see Lin raising his hands but players are ignoring him. Kemba, Batum and Frank are ignoring Lin when he’s opened and raising his hands up. Either their vision is really bad or they are icing Lin out. Most of the points Lin got was from cleaning up the scraps.

  • Phillycheese

    Fouled 40 times?

  • rookie75094

So many time Jlin was wide open and raise his hands for the ball….result…nada

  • tom

    47? no way

  • Linsanity2.0

Kemba having a subpar game… 1-5 and only 4 points

  • sws94

Frank is doing well but he isn’t a great finisher off of the drive. He’s doing better than Marv. Marv is in a slump.

  • John Focker

    You need a new keyboard… 🙂

  • zxcvb

It really is political. They’re playing Lin more (maybe to keep him happy or just to win), but Kemba and Batum are still hogging it no matter what. Losing streak hasn’t changed that.

  • Phillycheese

    The score is 47 – 40.

  • LinMad

should Lin start clapping and getting technicals? lol

  • Linsanity2.0

lol where are you getting your stats

  • rookie75094

I don’t want to even mention hawes

  • blubell

13 for BOS and 9 for CHA.

  • zxcvb

Playing too many minutes as well. Lin needs to play more PG and Roberts should get a chance for time. Hansbrough is also needed for hustle on defense. Lazy rebounding all night.

  • LinMad

yes he is but i don’t think he’s a good penetrator. He should pass once there are 2 defenders on him.

  • Phillycheese

I rather Frank shoot more and Batum and Walker less.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Boston fouled 13 times. Hornets fouled 9 times.

  • blubell

    but you just did… lol.

  • Linsanity2.0

Frank needs to start.. he’s their best Big right now

  • CJSHYY

Don’t think that will happen. Today Lin is more SG again. smh!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Thank you. Read the data wrong from the table.

  • sws94

Useless this game. Couldn’t even hit a 6 foot open shot.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Kemba & Batum just never look at Lin’s side… smh! SG…

  • LinMad

if u can call those limited touches playing SG…he’s playing more defender and observer

  • CJSHYY

Al will be back next game.

  • sws94

Well, at least Lin looks good at the FT line today. The 2nd unit looked ragged tonight, never got into their usual flow.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Yeah. He is a good shooter and he has size and long arms that Cody Zeller doesn’t. Zeller should be working on his jump shot and play SF. Kaminsky is a pure center.

  • sws94

Cliff didn’t sound thrilled about it when he was asked about Al. Said he wasn’t thinking about him yet.

  • LinMad

cause Kemba was PG for 2nd unit most the time.

  • rookie75094

That would make him to look like an oommpa lommpa…lol

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Big AL is smoking and doped. Don’t know if he can play.

  • CJSHYY

    Really? Wow! Trade?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lamb doesn’t get too many shots off.

  • sws94

It wasn’t really on as the 2nd unit much, true. But when Lin ran point he was really exerting himself trying to make things happen. Guys weren’t moving around enough.

  • LinMad

ya the spacing was bad. Off ball moving was horrible too. That’s why 3 guys were able to swarm Lin and trap.

  • sws94

Lamb isn’t playing right. Besides rebounds, he needs to stop dribbling and facilitate and get in position to shoot from Lin’s passes.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kemba missed his layups and had difficulty getting free.

  • CJSHYY

I know so bad again. smh!

  • blubell

Are the refs fair this time?

  • Guest

Kemba and Office trying to prove he belongs at All-star instead of Jeremy.

  • NONONO

Hornets missed so many open shots which made Lin 0 assists. Kemba played 20mins PG with 1/5

  • KHuang

They don’t have to cheat Lin for the Hornets to lose.

  • rookie75094

Kemba is coming back to the means

  • sws94

No, just didn’t sound like he wasn’t planning Al in the lineup yet. He said he’ll think about Al after tonight’s game.

  • cdblue10

No,still favors the visitors than the home court

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The key player is Marvin Williams. If he can’t shoot well, the whole team is going to be in trouble

  • CJSHYY

    Better than vs Rox.

  • occupatio

    lol

  • rookie75094

Not as bad as last game…but still bad

  • heart

    IT: 15:46min, 11pts 2/5 FGM-A, 4TO, 2 Assists
    KW: 21:26min, 4pts 1/5 FGM-A, 2TO, 2 Assists

Lin needs more PG duty to get 2nd unit and Lamb into rhythm.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The perimeter defense is so good that both teams shot below 30%. Hornets is the worst shooting only 20% at 3s.

  • LinMad

He’s a balanced player but I don’t think he impacts the game that much.

  • GoJLin!

CHA has less rebound and less AST, plus besides Lin’s 4-4 FT, all their shooting % is worse than Celtics

  • Alain Gervais

me 2 its mostly bad offense sets. marvin takes the leftovers usually

  • LinMad

9 assists in first half. We need more ball movement.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kemba has been with coach Clifford for a long time and Clifford lets him play a lot of minutes. If he failed in his ISO game, the Hornets is going to be in a lot of trouble.

  • LinMad

Why is PJ shooting so much?

  • heart

PJ missed his defense assignment again. He gave away points more than he makes.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The first team is creating big holes now. All they do are to shoot 3s and let Kemba drive.

  • he starts believing in this Hair-ston-sanity he heard in Twitter-verse :]

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The first team routinely gets outscored by large!

  • Guest

    There’s no hustle nor fire!!

  • Hornets D hasn’t solved Celtics ball movement to the paint

  • LinMad

From the look of this team, they dont look like a top 10 team now. They used to look like a top 4 in the EC. However, things are now showing up that I think Hornets fans saw last season. More selfish plays and less ball movement and horrible defense.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Clifford calls the timeout this time.

  • rookie75094

I hate to say this but reality is setting in for kemba and batum.

  • LinMad

max contract for Batum no more?

  • Big Al’s paint D can help but his post-up offense slows down the O.
It will be interesting when he comes back

  • heart

KW and NB don’t have the knack for controlling the tempo of the game. You don’t always have to answer w/ a three. It seems like no set plays. Celtics kept cutting into the paint. Defense in the paint is weak!

  • rookie75094

    Idk…hornets may still do it

  • LinMad

That’s what they drew up during the timeout? Pass the ball to Batum 3 times so he can just pass it and run the clock down?

  • golfhacker

Hope so. Increases the likelihood of Jeremy going to Sixers.

  • LinMad

Imagine if Hornets bench wasn’t the best in the NBA…

  • Uh-oh Kemba is trying to take over

  • cdblue10

Batum is a spacer not a creator, how many more games to know that he’s not the guy.

  • John Focker

In Batum’s defense, he’s NOT a guard and only playing SG for political reasons. Kemba on the other hand…

  • When Kemba tries to take over, expect BOS 15pt lead soon

  • sport

How many more games until they realize Walker and Batum are not stars!

  • LinMad

    posterized…

  • Kwok Wai Lai

You can’t win a game by having your first team outscored by double digit!

  • cdblue10

Prolly when they’re already out from playoff picture

  • heart

Why is Cliff not calling timeout??????

  • LinMad

    game over.

  • Celtics getting layup + 3s
    Hornets kept missing 3s

    Story of the game *sigh*

  • Promo Sports World

    Marvin Williams has disappeared

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The only good thing is Boston is in foul trouble right now.

  • Alain Gervais

we are play so bad idk what to say

  • CJSHYY

    Lin will check in soon.

  • Joe what do you know

    Oh well…. It’s a runaway train….
Over-relying on Kemba and Batum to facilitate is crushing the Hornets back down to earth after that good run….

  • John Focker

PJ at 1-5 and with team worst -16, why he’s still on the court is beyond anyone including Clifford himself.

  • LinMad

    Starters look D-league

  • Kwok Wai Lai

This first team is garbage. They lost 18 points.

  • sws94

Starters are horrible. Just horrible. Something needs to change.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin cant play 48 minutes

  • CJSHYY

I know now Cliff wants Lin in but Kemba & Batum will not pass the ball to him. smh!

  • cdblue10

They keep settling to shoot 3’s why not try to drive and get contacts and shoot ft’s

  • heart

Cliff kept Celtics momentum going by allowing them to make run after run w/o calling a time out. That’s just poor coaching!!!!!

  • Pete Roces

    haha, great scheme by clifford.

  • golfhacker

    For his defense. Lol!

  • I hate to be right .. Celtics 17pt lead now with Kemba hero-ball

    *sigh*

  • rookie75094

Wow no time out until down by 17…nice coaching…..not!!

  • GoJLin!

    5:21, Lin in

  • LinMad

its funny how Cliff brings Lin in when he’s really desperate.

  • MoominFloren

Everything is different after Lin’s 35 pts game
Kemba & Batum just can’t handle it; Lin is being iced out by these 2 and the coach can do nothing about it….

  • zxcvb

A team “led” by Batum and Kemba will never go anywhere. Batum can’t create for himself and Kemba can’t set up others. Only Lin can do BOTH. In today’s NBA you need a PG who can attack AND set up.

  • John Focker

Problem is he is too slow at getting desperate.

  • Lin in with 15 min .. when Celtics lead ballooned to 17pts

    Bit too late, coach

  • Singapore BB Fan

Hornets loss every game after Batum returned from his illness.

  • cdblue10

    Lol

  • John Focker

“Teamball” by Kemba was as much lip service as BS’ “I like Lin, I really do.” comment.

  • No call on IT shove on Lin?

  • LinMad

nope, IT smiled at the end like he got away with it

  • tom

Lins assist didnt count someone should email the league

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The third quarter is always a disaster with the first team/
Batum is not an energy guy that runs the team. Too overrated.

  • CJSHYY

    Lin finally got 1 AS

  • cdblue10

Clifford this is not a rocket science to figure out how to play the game

  • Pete Roces

This game maybe over, Refs helping Boston …..

  • LinMad

    it did count

  • John Focker

As if Boston even needed help, they’re getting that aplenty from Kemba and Clifford.

  • IT lowered shoulder .. ref refused to call it

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The experiment with Batum and Kemba making plays should end. They failed badly.

  • FSW

    Cliff nice guy limited coach

  • Kemba unforced TO?
How bad can this game go?

  • occupatio

bill kennedy says hi. hes not here tonight but gives his regards.

  • occupatio

refs prolly gather around the water cooler and exchange stories and jokes about all the different ways they shafted jeremy lin on calls.

  • John Focker

In his defense, he’s tired. 31 min before 3Q is over, it’s on Clifford not to rest him.

  • This is embarrassing.
Starters with -12 to -18 getting outscored in the 3rd quarter

    Another slow in-game adjustment

  • Good pass this time by Batum on a cutting Frank

  • heart

Did Lee pushed Lin while he was going to the basket and the ref is near by didn’t even call a foul on Lee?

  • spiderman

    best line up now

  • cdblue10

I’m tired watching Kemba and Batum dribbling and passing each other to end up shooting the ball.

  • John Focker

Best lineup BEFORE Lin’s 35pt game. Since then Batum reverted back to icing Lin out.

  • cshot

    hows jeremy doing?

  • blubell

    5 rebounds.

  • zxcvb

Whenever Lin makes 2 early buckets, he gets iced out for the next 2 quarters. Kemba and Batum REALLY do not want to be outshined.

  • JJ Hui

KW iced Lin, he only passed to NB, is the coach blind?

  • tom

Batum is so annoying he thinks he can make those contested shots like kobe
He is just a great roleplayer

  • Alain Gervais

Lin only player with more then 2 minutes the a positive plus/minuts

  • LinMad

    Nic wanted that last shot

  • cdblue10

There’s no growth and development on this team for Lin

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The +/- of the first team are all in double digit. That’s how bad they’re!!!!

  • spiderman

    yeah what’s up with batum?

    reverting to the dark-side

  • golfhacker

Yet some want Lin to stay in Charlotte.

  • they get to watch Kemba + Batum like we do ..
    only a bit closer

  • MoominFloren

Maybe 76ers is now a better option for Lin…

  • sws94

OK, but hasn’t really had that much touches or involvement yet. Has 8 points and 5 boards.

  • LinMad

I don’t no more, ever since the Raptors game coach looks like he’s trying to get Batum/Kemba back up as a franchise stars.

  • cdblue10

Those fans doesn’t know basketball at all, there …I said it!!!!!!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I have always said so. With Kemba. Batum, MKG as the franchise player, this team has no future!!!!

  • zxcvb

I’m hoping for a Xmas day trade. MDA joins Philly on Dec. 26th.

  • LinMad

I don’t no more, ever since the Raptors game coach looks like he’s trying to get Batum/Kemba back up as a franchise stars..

  • NONONO

    Lin no sweat

  • rookie75094

    Come back time..
    Jlin…I still believe…despite other factors…lol

  • Promo Sports World

You guys are crazy taking about the sixers as a destination

  • zxcvb

Batum still in, playing PG. Clueless Clifford.

  • Promo Sports World

Sixers are a shell of an organization

  • Lamb was not effective
Lin was actually quite effective in the 1st half.

Trying to inject team-ball and ball movement after starters allowed 17pt lead

  • LinMad

we can’t rely on Lin turning up at the end all the time. It’s ridiculous. When Lin doesn’t get his chance, he doesn’t get his chance. We need to stop hoping he will get it and turn the game around by himself.

  • John Focker

All starters with double-digit negative in +/-, all bench with positive except Hawes. Summary of season so far.

  • zxcvb

You want him to stand in the corner as a backup his entire career?

With MDA on his side, Lin could turn Philly into a playoff team next season.

  • zxcvb

Ach. Lin missed that floater he’s been nailing of late.

  • LinMad

Cliff is actually playing Batum as PG?

  • John Focker

At least with Colangelo and MDA’s arrivals there’s a remote chance for change. There’s ZERO chance for change for Clifford’s Hornets. And that’s with MKG and Al being absent.

  • golfhacker

Playoffs would be a stretch, but they would be most improved team.

  • Promo Sports World

Too much belief in MDA….great for Lin in NYC don’t see that bond translating in philly

  • LinMad

Batum gets the tech shot and misses

  • Frank3 made cut it to 11
    65-76

  • John Focker

Where have you been all this time, buddy? LOL

  • Promo Sports World

Can only go up for sure but they are a mess….not a fan of Clifford or MJ in terms of giving Jeremy a fair shot but sixers climb is going to be something

  • spiderman

cant believe tyler’s getting more than 5 minutes

  • zxcvb

Lin lost his rhythm with the ice out. This damn team. Never passes to him when he’s hot. They wait till he’s cold.

  • LinMad

Lin shooting in 4th quarter after being iced out so long is not a strategy

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The worse thing to do is to give up FTs!!!

  • Dorothy

    2222222222222

  • Their vision for Batum is like Harden.
    Ball-dominant SG

  • John Focker

On the flip side, Sixers literally have nowhere else to go BUT UP. LOL

  • Promo Sports World

    Comeback is on

  • zxcvb

Maybe that bucket can get him going.

  • nice bank shot 🙂

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Lin is on his way to pick up his double double tonight.

  • zxcvb

Batum missed Lin under the hoop in transition. Lin was clearly mad.

  • Alain Gervais

Lin wasn’t really ever hot. but love the effort today

  • Promo Sports World

    Big frank is gunning

  • CJSHYY

Just keep shooting, Lin. 10 pts.

  • NONONO

    looking for double double today

  • zxcvb

Exactly. FTs will kick in as well.

  • GoJLin!

    Yes, 3 rebounds to go!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Perhaps they should start Kaminsky as center.

  • John Focker

Jelly green, Hardenitis, Kobe syndrome, etc.

  • cdblue10

Not too bad and not too good either

  • John Focker

They should’ve as soon as Al was out.

  • Lin 10pts/7reb/1ast with 8:41 left

Only trailing 11 pts now (67-78)
9pts if Lamb can make 2 FTs

  • Promo Sports World

Jeremy does so much more on the court now …. What growth and he and frank should be the PNR tandem

  • Phillycheese

    Final push Lin.

  • zxcvb

2-3 to start, both nice buckets. Should have kept feeding him.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Batum is the best first team player because he got to play with the 2nd team a lot.

  • cdblue10

    What the f@ck

  • LinMad

    Walker in for Lin.

  • cshot

    what the h***?

  • Phillycheese

    He has 10 shots.

  • spiderman

    game over

  • golfhacker

    Makes absolutely no sense right?

  • John Focker

    White flag.

  • JJ Hui

If KW sit till the end they mght have a chance to W, if he comes back in, it is a L!

  • zxcvb

Lin getting a breather. Probably come back with 5m left.

  • cdblue10

    Just totally flabbergasted

  • Pete Roces

    haha KW in for Lin….

  • Promo Sports World

    Rest Quick

  • LinMad

does he really need one? He’s played 47 minutes in Toronto.

  • heart

We all should know by now that KW will get minutes no matter how good or bad he plays on home court.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

It’s major mistake to take Lin out for Walker.

  • Alain Gervais

    Lamb plays really bad defense.

  • Promo Sports World

Lin in for Lamb I’m guessing

  • golfhacker

    Especially with Kemba sucking.

  • yup, Lamb no-D allowed Hunter to dunk.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Kemba is a defense liability!!!!

  • cshot

    What is this bogus rotation?

  • GoJLin!

Right after they trailing single digit, Lin Substitution replaced by Walker, what can you say, Clifford?

  • Kwok Wai Lai

You can ‘t catch up without good defense.

  • zxcvb

It’s not the total minutes, just the minutes-in-a-row.

  • cdblue10

Lin doesn’t need to rest he can play for 46 mins for Christ sake

  • spiderman

    tyler actually getting play time

  • Promo Sports World

    Yup

  • MoominFloren

Kemba or Batum >>>>>> Lin in FO’s eye

  • Joe what do you know

    Whadafak is Cliff thinking?

  • LinMad

Feeding Frank’s ego now and then we see Frank driving more.

  • Here we go again.. Another Lamb try to close out game?
Let’s see if Celtics will continue to exploit his lack of D

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin up

  • LinMad

Now Lin coming back in since Bradley hit the 3

  • Promo Sports World

    For lamb

  • Promo Sports World

Maybe Jeremy needed to use the bathroom lol

  • zxcvb

I think he just needed a breather. Or at least Cliff thought so.

  • Guest

Haha. Lamb did not want to be pulled. So he drew the foul.

  • Alain Gervais

    batum

  • zxcvb

    Chipotle run.

  • he did try hard :]

  • Joe what do you know

Guess Cliff was trying to draw up the game plan and have Lin oversees the execution in the final minutes….

  • So Lin got a quick rest.. let’s push!

  • zxcvb

    Rebounds killing CHA.

  • Lamb drew the last three fouls. Very helpful to get them into the bonus.

  • John Focker

Funny about the timing of cloning Harden, when the Rox are doing so bad.

  • zxcvb

Celtics must have 12 second-chance points on lazy, missed rebounds by CHA.

  • Lin kept the dribble alive.. found Lamb for an easy 2

  • Alain Gervais

    Lin plus 8

  • GoJLin!

Lin needs 3 more rebounds to become double, double, Ha Ha 🙂

  • LinMad

Lamb already 12 pts. Why would coach pull him?

  • Alain Gervais

    he didn’t batum sat

  • Joe what do you know

Ever since day 1…. No real rebounding threats…. Zeller gets boxed out too often…

  • NONONO

very bizarre rotations tonight. it kills the game

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The only productive lineup for Hornets consists of at least 3 players from 2nd team.

  • rookie75094

Kemba need to sit out the rest of the game

  • spiderman

    need hansbrough

  • sport

He needs to shoot more for 15+ points, 10 is too little.

  • cdblue10

If they let Lin to navigate and scramble this Boston defense since the first quarter ,Hornets might be winning right now

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Who is the most + player for the Hornets on the court? Jeremy Lin!

  • Joe what do you know

If they wanna win, this is the crucial moment to close the gap….

  • LinMad

    we need quicker baskets

  • LinMad

    FTs

  • blubell

    Made 1

  • zxcvb

Good drive by Lin. I wish Stevens were Lin’s coach.

  • LinMad

9 pt game gotta end strong

  • GoJLin!

    Lin 6-6 FT!

  • golfhacker

    Assist!

  • blubell

    Assist to Batum 3

  • Kwok Wai Lai

I really feel bad for Lamb. He has just got warmed up and shot well.

  • spiderman

    need tyler

  • zxcvb

    LIN BALL.

But even then it was accidental with Kemba coughing it up — lucky bounce got it to Lin.

  • LinMad

Lin with the court vision. That’s how you play PG.

  • sport

Walker almost lost the ball, nice save and assist from Lin to Batum!

  • zxcvb

He got $21M after 1 good week — no tears for him! He’s still young too.

  • heart

See how quick Celtics Coach call a time out when Hornets make a run?

  • cshot

he needs to steal dem rebounds now

  • LinMad

Kemba should sit, bring in Lamb. Let Lin PG.

  • cdblue10

As I said Batum is just a spacer and 3 & D guy on his spot as a SF

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The best player for the Hornets is Jeremy Lin. The +/- says so.

  • sport

No lucky save by Lin! Celtics almost stole that one!

  • GoJLin!

Lin hear someone’s complain, he hit 6-6 FT today!

  • NONONO

    LIN +11 – the highest

  • Promo Sports World

Always has been…..not a max guy

  • tom

    Thamk god!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

A rare Kemba drive that led to a kick out three. It’s a Christmas miracle! HAHAHA

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Take Kemba out and put in Lamb.

  • occupatio

was a hockey pass kickout too, not an actual assist

  • LinMad

    Kemba takes a brick 3.

  • zxcvb

Kemba and Batum choking AGAIN. Game over.

  • golfhacker

Followed by a Batum brick 3.

  • zxcvb

Game over. Good job by Lin to get the pass, but missed the rushed jumper.

  • Joe what do you know

    This might be it….

  • LinMad

bigs dribbling too much. Just shoot it. We have no time.

  • zxcvb

Ugly game. No teamwork, except by Lin. Just hogging and standing around.

  • Promo Sports World

Shots not hitting but the kids game was everywhere

  • cdblue10

You can’t teach stup*d*ty on this team

  • LinMad

    bad coaching.

  • LinMad

why is Frank driving so much? He’s not a guard.

  • zxcvb

An offense led by Batum and Kemba will ALWAYS struggle. At least against good teams.

  • occupatio

lin throws it away instead of shooting it. typical.

  • sport

Cliff screaming his lungs out, can hear his voice clearly through the stream!

  • zxcvb

That was bad, but the game is over. And he went cold.

  • spiderman

    Clifford outcoached (again)

  • Linsanity2.0

We lost because of that poor start to the 1st and 3rd quarters.. thats all there is to it..

  • Singapore BB Fan

What makes Cliff to believe that Kemba and Batum can close the game ? It’s was these hole diggers that caused the 17pts drift. I don’t see why kemba should close the game.

  • occupatio

what a chore to watch this game… thank you clifford for bringing another stinker.

  • spiderman

    needs to find a mirror

  • cdblue10

IF Batum will just play as SF then the lane would open up more.Kemba is a 6th man if he can even guard anyone, maybe then this team will reach the playoff

  • JJ Hui

This is the same style of game and losing the same way game after game, even Kaminsky iced out Lin!
Coach C is not aware with this?

  • LinMad

he tried to PnR with Zeller but Zeller was behind his defender.

  • GoJLin!

okay, game over, good block! good bye, almost double, double!

  • Alain Gervais

starters dig a hole we just cant get out of

  • zxcvb

Lin still +4 despite cold shooting. Starters were dreadful and Clifford wouldn’t adjust.

Stevens >>>>>>>>>>>>> Clifford. Clifford was totally outmatched and baffled.

  • sport

As Kemba and Batum continue to play selfish iso and only looking out for themselves this team will not make playoffs.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hornets only scored 89 points. Their playmaker Batum and Kemba did not generate enough offense.

  • John Focker

This team was 2nd seed before Kemba/Batum let it get to their heads and started freezing out the one who helped them get the team there.

  • LinMad

If coach respected Lin at PG for 2nd unit, we wouldn’t have this problem. There was no reason for Lin to be iced out 3 quarters.

  • cdblue10

I would rather watch a 76’ers with Lin on it than this stup*d team

  • Alain Gervais

    starters all in negatives

  • BobbyH

    At least Lin got his.

  • GoJLin!

    Lin play 32:10 min, 12 points, 8 Reb, 3Ast, and 2 Blocks!

  • sport

Only if Lin gets to be the starter PG with a big contract!

  • sws94

Wasn’t Lin’s night. His short game wasn’t working tonight. He’s getting playing time but the starters even with Lin in don’t have good flow. Frank played well.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

When the momentum was on the Hornets and the lead was down to 9, Kemba came in to sub Lin inside the 8 min, I said game over.

  • zxcvb

By double-digits! Meanwhile, Lin, Frank and Lamb were +4, 0, +4.

    This damn team never learns.

  • John Focker

And they kept on digging, Kemba 41 minutes and Batum 39. Not only did they dig a big hole, they made sure BF1 didn’t get the team out of the hole either!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The damn first team are all negative in double digits. The only reason that MW, Kemba, Batum are better in +/- is because they got to play with the 2nd team.

  • Joe what do you know

I know it’s not realistically possible but CHA needs to do roster spring clean if they want to win…..

  • LinMad

that’s not very good cause Lin was observer on offense like 3/4 of his playing time.

  • sws94

But it wasn’t a great game for him. The 8 boards is good, but that’s about it.

  • MoominFloren

Can Lin just buy out his contract and join 76ers?
It’s wasting time here in Charlotte

  • cdblue10

I’m pretty sure he will be the PG of that team

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Kemba played no defense. Batum’s defense is not good enough.

  • xeroid

It seems even when Lin is in there, the ball goes to Kemba, Balum, Kemba, then he either shoots or back to Batum shoots, and misses.

  • John Focker

NOW I understand why Charlotte fans weren’t optimistic, they obviously knew something Lin fans didn’t.

  • golfhacker

Lin agents should get on the phone with Philly and MDA and work out a trade. And Lin’s agents should begin hinting that otherwise Jeremy will definitely opt out of 2nd year.

  • GoJLin!

He try, and he give us the 6-6 FT and 2 blocks, not bad!

  • sport

Walker and Batum continues to play selfish game, both are shooting horrible and chucking shots.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin’s shots were off but his D made big difference that’s why he’s +4.

  • LinMad

basically Kemba/Batum needs to pass to Lin more early game. When Lin just sits in corner, he’s no longer an offensive threat and it makes it easier for the defenders.

  • Alain Gervais

the offense is ok but defensively transition is horrible. Kemba and batum game is ugly. Give lin 1/3 ball handling responsibility and watch a big change. defensively. idk why we can run back on defense. mostly the bigs. Lambs defense is ugly

  • John Focker

Let it slip, let it slip, let it slip… *humming Xmas tune*

  • zxcvb

Got to the line as well. No easy calls either.

  • sport

No need to other wise, Lin will opt out no matter what. Because of that TV deal all teams will have more cap space.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Glad that Hornets is currently out of the playoff picture now.
They should keep Lamb in instead of putting in Walker for him.
The two Jeremy brothers were playing well until Clifford messed them up by putting Batum and Walker.

  • JJ Hui

Every game is the same formula! This is just stupid !

  • tom

    Oh well
    Something needs to change
Clifford dont you go back to the Lamb 6th man bs

  • Alain Gervais

As we lose i think there will be a change. Al will help against some teams. but hurt against others. net effect 0. Lin will start at some point. Way too much losing to keep as is

  • cdblue10

    What?????LOLLOLLOLLOL

  • tom

    nope Hornets still better

  • Alain Gervais

    Lol lambs defense sure

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I am tired of this Kemba or Batum only. When bench do well keep starters’ asz on the bench Cliff.

  • LinMad

8 rebs. Where are the bigs? Too busy shooting and driving in the paint like Frank?

  • John Focker

Same old Kembaball BS. Nothing to see here.

Happy to see Magic beat the cheating Rox. Moving on to see GSW get to 27-1 and Thunder school the LA Kobes.

  • zxcvb

Clifford reacted to this slump by playing Kemba and Nic even MORE. And having them hog MORE.

  • GoJLin!

When all the starters got minus in double digit, he at least maintain a plus 4.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The 2nd team is all positive with the exception of Hawes -4.
The first team are all negative in double digits.

  • MoominFloren

    Slim chance to start

  • sport

Playing Lin at the corner which Rockets Mchale invented to marginalize him just doesn’t work!

  • John Focker

Let’s see how many MORE losses he and Cho can stomach.

  • David Kim

    not fun to watch….

  • zxcvb

Trade Lin to Philly, and Philly will catch up to Charlotte by season’s end.

  • cdblue10

Lin is just a role player here,he doesn’t have a chance to showcase his offensive game because of the preferred choice of this team,we already see what he can do when given the chance to lead.

  • John Focker

At this rate (2nd to 10th in a week), not for much longer.

  • tom

    Lol I cant be certain
Hornets need to keep the current rotation but more ball sharing
Not saying give the ball to Lin
They just need to make more extra passes
Batum iso is not the way to go its not even fun to watch He just dont got it

  • zxcvb

So ugly. Kemba and Batum are simply not PGs.

Starters all in double-digit negatives with Lin “somehow” +4 in 32m says it all.

  • xeroid

Celtics were playing zone and doubling Lin when he gets the ball, with no spacing or cutting, and if he passes the ball out, he never gets to see the ball again. The ball usually goes to Kemba, then to Batum, and occasionally to Kaminsky, back to Batum, with Lin and Lamb not seeing the ball.

  • tom

1-29 is not easy to turn around

  • Kwok Wai Lai

How do you like it, Clifford? A lost in double digits at home!

  • golfhacker

With the Sixers, Lin would be the starting PG, plus the Sixers have no where to go but up. The KEY is Jeremy gets to be a FULLTIME starting PG.

  • zxcvb

I seriously hope the recent increase in Lin’s minutes (but not usage) means they’re trading him. “Showcasing” a guy like this is pretty common and Charlotte still thinks Kemba and Batum are elite.

  • tom

4TOs is concerning 3-11 as well

  • Alain Gervais

Kemba is a bad pg. Lin played pg a little today. but even his 3 assist 4 tov was better watching then kebabs 3 assist 3 tov. 2 of lins tov was i think him trying to drive and right throw the bigs hands. the last tov was a last source to do something in a time when the game was over. All the big plays happen with Lin. Lambs spirt was with Lin and Datums three was with Lin BTW with kebab’s pass being deflected

  • aras

Decent game from Lin 4 to and 3/10 is not good tho but he drew fouls and tried to penetrate instead of settling for the jumper

  • John Focker

Sure, trade Lin to Sixers who school Hornets on their next encounter.

  • cdblue10

I’m tired watching this 2 players wannabe superstars trying to sell that they can win games. If this is what they going to pay for player next year then good luck, anyway they’re used losing so nothing surprised me there.

  • tom

    On a horrible losing team
No matter how well he does there it would not matter
better to be on a team playing significant minutes and make the playoffs

  • zxcvb

Good all-around game. Shot was off but hard to blame him when he goes 10m of real-time without even touching it.

  • Alain Gervais

Kemba got 41 minutes which is crazy.

  • LinMad

I think Hornets fans are so used to this that they let this game slide. It’s just Kemba being Kemba. And Batum our max contract candidate being a max contract player.

  • Brewkowski

Hornets might be better but if Kemba and Batum continues being the only scoring options then no point in Lin and bench busting their arses just to lose close games. Simple coaching adjustments and these close losses are wins.

  • zxcvb

Right now, Kemba and Nic are playing like Sixers starters. All huge negatives every game.

  • rookie75094

If that’s the case…then Jlin should slide over to the 6ers now

  • John Focker

High risk, even higher reward. Even if Sixers can get to .400 it would be considered Linsanity Revived.

  • xeroid

That’s questionable the way things are going, they are out right now, and even if they squeeze in, it will be first round exit, unless they integrate Lin into the flow of game, rather than use him only on defense and sitting in the corner.

  • cdblue10

Best thing to describe them, nothing more nothing less

The Hornets lost another game 89-102 against the Celtics.

They’re quickly slipping in the Eastern playoff race, slipping to #10

It’s the same problem with starters unable to build lead and allowing the Celtics to blow up the lead to 17-20pts in the 3rd quarter with unorganized offense consisting of Kemba and Batum ISOs without much ball movement.

When Lin was inserted, he helped with the ball movement but it’s clear that the Hornets way of Batum and Kemba ISOs + some team-ball is not working. Coach Clifford needs to do something big to emphasize excellent ball movement. Starting JLin at PG to stress great ball movement would be a start before more losses pile up.

JLin played quite well despite losing his shooting touch in the 2nd half with 12pts/3asts/8rebs/2blk in 32 min

  • LinMad

Today I’m not even going to defend Lin’s limited touches early game. I’m going to defend Jeremy Lamb not closing the game with Lin.

  • grover chang

Then what? Probably be too late and still miss the playoffs.

  • LinMad

    that’s a dagger

“It’s the same problem with starters unable to build lead and allowing the Celtics to blow up the lead to 17-20pts in the 3rd quarter with unorganized offense consisting of Kemba and Batum ISOs without much ball movement.”

  • Kwok Wai Lai

The Kemba + Batum simply failed time.

  • grover chang

Really seems that walker trying not to pass to Lin.

  • golfhacker

Charlotte will not make the playoffs if things continue the way they are. It’s not like the Hornets were a playoff team last year. The Sixers have Okafor and some other high draft picks that could use Lin’s leadership. Plus most likely the #1 pick overall in next year’s draft.

  • sws94

To me, Lin has yet to find his 4Q magic touch on this team. It’ll happen. The 35-point breakout game happened and the 4Q thing will happen. It just seems difficult for Lin to find that magic with both Kemba and Batum on the floor. With one it’s possible, not both so far.

  • JJ Hui

It is very obvious that Lin will not have a future in Hornets, the ‘no adjustment’ and ‘same starting line up’ coach, selfish ball hogs afraid Lin will steal the spotlight, plus the coach always asigned Lin to corner and doesnt want him to be the PG, so Lin better run!

  • cdblue10

I still think that Hornets is not his future team,I want to see him in a team that he can flourish and show his offensive repertoire and savvy passing abilities

  • sws94

I’m not looking past this season, just trying to enjoy where he’s playing now. He can do it, just has to figure out how to. It’s not impossible.

  • InfiniteWisdom

lin sucked tonight. missed some gimme floaters and wide open shots. refs still hate him and never call anything. boston’s perimeter d was simply suffocating. the team sucks also. that 3rd quarter collapse happens every game so i aint even mad…

  • cdblue10

If you enjoy it,I don’t…I’m tired of seeing Kemba and Batum bricking most of their shots and keep falling behind w/ double digits every game

  • LinMad

spacing was horrible today. This is what happens when bigs play like guards (Frank) and guards have to get the rebounds (Lin).

  • cdblue10

They can fixed that if Batum will play SF

  • LinMad

coach fed Batum’s ego too much I don’t think it can be fixed. Batum legit thinks he’s PG. He’s demanded the ball from Lin a few times, even trying to walk the ball up when we all know Batum’s dribbling/handles are bad.

  • sws94

I didn’t enjoy this game but I’m trying to enjoy the games he’s on with a chance to do something to help his team win. I can’t look past this season because really, so far all of the new teams have been disappointing and I just don’t feel like looking past 4 months plus more of JLin basketball.

  • cdblue10

In NBA there are special players and just a role player, Batum fall on that category which is the latter.

  • InfiniteWisdom

batum forces too much. early on it was superstar-like. but once the hail mary shots dont go in, he looks like a chucker. the fundamental problem is that this is a jump shooting team that cant hit jump shots…

  • sws94

I think it is harsh to say he sucked. He in no way played well but he was meh. The whole team played poorly and Boston played much better.

  • cdblue10

I admire you sws even with the most difficult times as a fan you’re still trying to look on the bright side.

  • InfiniteWisdom

lin came in early this game and was just a spectator. kemba and batum play off each other and the ball never moves side to side. then kemba started the 2nd and tanked the bench force one lineup. 3rd quarter was the usual collapse as the starters are pure garbage. and then the magical comeback with lin/lamb/batum/hans/frank…. then cliff brings the garbage back in and of course we lose…. i knew it once he didnt let the lineup that brought it to single digits try to close out the game…

  • LinMad

true. If they would screen more and allow Lin to penetrate or PnR, it would be more watchable. Too bad don’t have bigs that can catch a ball.

  • LinMad

he went with he guys with – to close the game when it should have been the BF1 closing the game.

  • InfiniteWisdom

in terms of what he could do, yes he sucked… at least his baseline is better than early in the season…

  • adele

I can see that Lin accepted that he doesn’t have a big role in this team and he is polishing his defense to showcase to another team come next season. The scouts know that his offense is above average and he can really score if given the chance. It’s just a matter of making the right decision for him. D’Antoni reunited would be ideal.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Merry Christmas from Downunder!!!!! This is our Christmas eve here!!!! Weather is uncomfortably humid but not very hot.

  • tom

    Then join them next year

  • tom

nah he wouldnt pass to anyone if he didnt have to

  • tom

    well see

  • tom

barely if your team is belo .500 it really doesnt matter

  • John Focker

Sixers currently at 1-30 (3.22% winning), going to 40% would involve winning 33 games out of the remaining 51 if Lin starts tomorrow, higher if it takes longer. This requires Sixers to win at 64.7% or higher.

So…you’re saying a 3.22% team going up to 64.7+% winning in the remaining games will NOT gather any attention?

  • LAJane

Merry Christmas back at you from the other side of the pond. Hope it’s a very happy one for you!

  • Brewkowski

It’s not impossible and Lin probably figured it out already. When is Clifford accountable to winning games and not just propping up Batum and Kemba?

If Clifford is willing to sacrifice games and playoffs for Kemba and Batum them it’s time for Lin to day Sayonara to Charlotte… Thanks but no thanks.

  • tom

not much if they are still completely out of the play off contention

  • adele

Someday Psalm, you will organize a get together for all Lin fans in the US and invite some fan/ friends from all over the world who can come. Who knows? Lin might be invited too as the guest of honor. Wouldn’t that be exciting?

  • JoeTeam

Lol, talk to me bro … jk, you gotta do what makes you happy.
