G23 LAL @ SAS PostGame Thread

Jeremy Lin finished with 14pts/8asts/2rebs/1blk in 30 min.

After he was benched in the 4th quarter with 2:46 left, Lakers and Kobe made multiple costly turnovers allowing Spurs to tied the game.

In OT, Byron finally inserted him back with 1:04.  He made two crucial plays to help the Lakers win:

  1. With Lakers trailing 109-110, he positioned himself correctly to anticipate where the rebound would come so he drew a foul when Duncan barreled onto him. Lakers ball.
  2. With clocks winding down, Kobe passed to Lin who tried to drive to the rim but was well covered so he made the right decision to pass to Nick Young who made the clutch 3pt. 112-110

Jeremy showed great anticipation on defense and made the correct read to not force the drive inside and passed to Nick Young who made the great shot. Great defense and great facilitation as Byron as he requested Jeremy to do.

That’s what great Point Guard will do. Make the correct decision and not turn the ball over. Perhaps this is the game to earn Byron’s and Kobe’s trust that Jeremy can be the PG that they need.

I will let others who watched the complete game to provide their analysis.

  1. Can’t believe no one else is here. First

  2. first 🙂
    Great game!

  3. congrats!

  4. thanks! Added to Video Gallery

I missed most game for a Christmas play but came home in the last 1 min of regulation to watch the Kobe TOs and Lin’s impressive OT play in just 1 min! Linning, baby!

Was Lin super aggressive from the very beginning? Did he get benched in the 4th quarter because of his mistakes?

  5. I missed the most of first quarter but listened to the radio. Price got into foul trouble and Linsanity was unleashed. Jeremy was very aggressive both ends. I don’t think he got benched for his mistake but BScott wanting to use Kobe as PG, which backfired.

  6. Jeremy, congratulations on pestering off Duncan he just had to swear… you deserve the dancing banana

  7. Nice smile!
I will never look at toilet paper the same way again 🙂

  8. Thanks, that’s good to know that the Kobe PG experiment almost costed them the win.
Perhaps both BScott and Kobe will trust Lin more now because he did both of playing great D and facilitating :>

  9. I was too busy making toilet paper analogies. But congrats!

  10. Duncan will have Jeremy Lin on his mind tonight 😀

  11. In Duncan’s nightmares 😀

  12. Haha… I didn’t see your post… didn’t know you had stealth technique. lol

  13. Seriously Scott? Which part is good? smh lol
    https://twitter.com/ECshay/status/543655084014710784

  14. No, dreaming of Jeremy as his future teammate. Oh wait, he’ll retire soon. Darn.

  15. But he will talk about Jeremy with Pop tomorrow 😀
    Win-Win!

  16. There’s always that 1% chance, yeah!

  17. Have to wait until Kobe said Yes… I am not worry. Lin & Boozer both will be back soon. You know Scott said 10-15…

  18. Even if he retires, the Spurs org. is great top to bottom so I wouldn’t mind Jeremy in a Spurs uniform playing along side Leonard playing team sports.

  19. yeah, at this point I just want Jeremy to find the joy of playing his brand of basketball which is playing great team-ball. It’s still next year but I’m happy Lin got a great game against the Spurs.

  20. And play the right way. No agenda.

  21. anxiously waiting for DB to give Scott a stinky dead banana

  22. I think he got couple of stinky dead bananas so far… another one won’t make a difference 😛

  23. Very worthy comment.

  24. Unfortunately, he only adapted to one player: KOBE.

  25. Definitely worth our time to watch.

  27. Look at those adorable dimples.

  28. He sounds like he should be on this site with us.

  29. OK. Thanks, everyone!

  30. He also tweeted Jeremy’s weaknesses but lets not look that up. lol

  31. Once again Robin putting all of us to SHAME with his LOFing. We gotta pick it up XD

  32. See, even though I think Kobe is a selfish ballhog, he is still way better than Harden. Moreover, Lakers are not from the dark side like Rox, they are always under the spotlight which helps tremendously (I don’t remember
Robin put so much attention on Lin last season.)

  33. The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory! We luv his naive smile.. 🙂

  34. all of you here are making my head turn. I still got no answer from you guys. how come a lot of you are moderators? GRRRRRRRR

  35. I will mention a minor complaint on Lin tonight. Coach Scott has said Jeremy needs to work on his shot clock awareness right? Tonight Lin openly said he didnt even know there was so little time when he passed to it to Nick, I was like Jeremy pls!! LOL glad Nick made the shot.

  36. This site is all about the positive!

  37. Don’t get fooled by Lin’s humility, Buzzerbeater. Lin knows the clock, he’s just giving Swaggy cred. That’s Christian rhetoric, trust me.

  38. But what about the Spurs?

  39. That’s Kobe’s problem.. Kobe passed the ball to Lin in very late sec so…?! So many people in front of Lin how could he cut into the rim?

  40. to moderate lol

  41. Send Ellis away and I’d consider it a close second to Spurs.

  42. Did anyone else understand the kobe meltdown in the last 3 mins? It wasn’t fatigue or pg skills lacking … SAS intensified the heat, and they had kobe panicked without a calming handles partner on the court. That long pass to TO was a mental meltdown. But Kobe focused and delivered 3 key assists, taking his coverage to open Hill and Booz up. He really needed help getting gassed like that, so that’s why it was great Lin came in for the win. Kobe’s pass to Lin then to Swag was just what Kobe needed, someone to give it to after pressure. Lin got doubled immediately and then swag had a good contested 3. SAS really have great team D. It went from Kobe with 3 to Lin with 2 to Swag with 1. What a great play, O and D. And LAL loses if BSc didn’t recognize, albeit way too late about 4 minutes too late, that they needed Lin. Just fun to watch!

  43. didn’t you know? This is the stepford wives site. We’re all robot mods here except you … here twighlight zone.

  44. Im just talking about Jeremy saying he didnt know the time, which as the PG he should always be aware of.

  45. I’m saying he knew the time else why would he pass it without attracting the 3rd defender or committing Manu more like he normally does. He’s just being Christian, Chinese, Lin humble to make Swaggy look even better. Don’t take Lin at face value, he always says things with intended subtext. Should know that style he has by now.

  46. Its tough that spurs would sign lin. They have patty mills and Corey Joseph as back up. While Mills is still injure but Joseph played very well imo.

Mavs is still the fav for me.

    http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=171402

Lin — — I kind of think this is what should be an average game for Lin. The Lakers let Lin play more of his game when he came in after 5 minutes in the first (either that or he just did it) and it looked perfectly fluid with Kobe out there. We ran a lot more mix of high screens for him to attack off, and he also pushed the pace at times. He was calling plays, making sure he found Nick when he was hot. It just doesn’t seem that hard to make this work. He needs to step up like this and Scott needs to allow it. When he made a mistake tonight, he didn’t disappear. The team didn’t disappear tonight. “When the shots weren’t falling and we probably could have caved and would have caved in the past,” Lin said, “we were able to find a way to get stops and do the dirty things and do the tough things, so, you know, we are not soft.” They responded tonight and he’s right in the past they haven’t. They were playing with fight and spirit. Lin was playing looser and more aggressive. Asked about the trash talking, “It was really blown out of proportion. That’s what our practices look like. Sometimes it’s him on the losing end and us talking. I thought we played pretty hard for a team full of toilet paper,” he joked. He seemed a little irked that he or Ronnie wasn’t out there to close the game.

The Stats: He scored 14 points on 6-14 shooting (2-3 from three, 0-2 from the line) to go with 8 assists, 1 block, 3 turnovers and 3 fouls in 30 minutes. He was a +10.

The Action: He missed a good look at an open wing jumper (that was a high screen play set up for him to attack early in the game). Great job taking a charge against Duncan on the other end on help D to get a stop. He attacked the lane and hit the step-back jumper. Quick attack off the Kobe screen in early offense with speed and he scored a layup. Nice feed to Kobe who was fronted in the post for an early offense layup (Lin is very good at making that type of pass over the D). Nice recovery on his man who attacked past him and he swatted the shot out of bounds. He attacked and whipped a pass to Sacre for the easy one. He attacked left off a high screen and swished the pull-up jumper. He got backdoored for a layup on the other end. He swished a quick-fire three in early offense. He found Young for the three. He was called for a charge on a baseline attack (could have been a blocking call as the help defender was still moving). He called for the throwback play and hit Young for the three. He missed a hanging jumper in the lane. He attacked and threw it away, dunk the other way. He swished a wing three next time down behind a screen (confident shot). He doubled Duncan in the post and drew an offensive foul (Kobe came over as he was subbed out and had some good words for him). He had 12 points on 5-7 shooting and 5 assists.

Second Half: He attacked, lost the D on a spin move under the hoop and dumped it to Sacre for the layup (Lin had a layup himself). He probed into the lane off a high screen and hit the hanging shot over a big. He missed a wing three. He missed a pull-up at the FT line. He worked the two-man game with Boozer and found him for the short one in the lane. Great D smothering Parker on the drive and forcing a travel before a kickout. He missed a good look at a wing pull-up jumper from about 13 feet out, got to knock those down. He attacked from the wing and drew the whistle, he missed both FTS, uggh. He crossed over to lose his man but couldn’t hit the long jumper. He attacked in early offense and was rejected by the help D. He drew a moving screen call on the other end to get a stop. He attacked and was stripped. He was blocked out of bounds on a two-on-one layup attempt in transition.

Overtime: He was shoved to the ground on a defensive board and drew the foul with 30 seconds left. Nice assist to Swaggy, lol, for the three. “I didn’t realize there was that little time,” Lin said about dumping that pass out to Swaggy.

  48. he’s probably thinking more about the fit with Lin’s strength and skills in his previous tweet plus a replacement to Jameer Nelson as a starting PG

  49. I was too busy to make late afternoon snack:-) Wasn’t aware there was a new thread when I returned. I was stuck on the other thread until I finished reading the last post and it was this new thread message:-) @psalm234:disqus was just too sneaky:-)

  50. Scott
Overtime: He went with a Hill, Boozer, Johnson, Young, Kobe lineup. No Lin… He called a timeout with 1 minute left, down by 1 to sub in Lin. Hope he didn’t ice him leaving him on the bench to start the O. “I thought Kobe was exhausted,” Scott said. Kobe could have used the help much earlier… We got a huge three by Nick off a busted offensive sequence with 7.4 left. Lakers up 2. We fell into that score. Timeout Spurs… He kept same lineup with Lin in, Boozer out. Lakers got the stop and the W… The Lakers had 27 assists on 44-96 shooting… On Kobe’s trash talking that the media ran with. “You guys make that such a big deal and it’s not. That happens almost every practice,” Scott said. “I love seeing it. It has the guys going at it a little more.”…

  51. Price — — Once again, the Laker offense with Price struggled out of the gates. They trailed 10-0 quickly as the Spurs could defend this lineup easily. When Price sat after 5 minutes, you could see both the pace of the game pickup and the Laker scoring. They dug their way out of a hole to tie it up by the end of the first. Wes stepped into the void which helps this lineup tremendously. You can’t have both Price/Wes clanking or it makes it harder on the spacing and harder on everyone. Scott limited his minutes, thankfully. It’s painful to watch him be a non-threat out there offensively and bog down the offense for that unit. Later in the game, you could see Kobe looking him off and looking for the hotter hand in Wes who was a little less open, but a threat.

  52. true, Lin would get more PT in the Mavs. Rick Carlisle would know how to use Lin well.

Besides, Cuban would love to show Morey how to use Lin and Parsons to beat Houston.

  53. How Charmin.

  54. LOL ..”Let me rub your soft Charmin hair”
Good to see. Now let’s see if Jeremy gets more PT in next few games.

  55. It could be, also like him mentioning how (him) or Price couldve helped in the 4th. Only Jeremy would still go out there and give Price undeserved props, always building up his teammates.

  56. Good point !

  57. DB gave Scott a smiling face >:(
/Unsubscribes from DB’s “thoughts and :-)) ratings” newsletter.

  58. Yes, the Ronnie comment – that’s another good example of that put yourself down thing from Chinese culture that westerners don’t get. You put yourself down a bit, or uplift the down guy a bit, and socially other Chinese know to uplift the opposite. It’s like fighting over the dinner bill. Old Chinese friends always know who’s supposed to win. Lin prob shouldn’t use that kind of language/rhetoric on locker room interviews unless he means it.

  59. Lin has a very good chance to start if giving a fair competition which I believe carlise is a very good coach. Better than a back up with the spurs. Hooe dream comes true.

  60. True, you know when Scott hears that he’ll give himself a pat in the back! pfft

  61. Kobe sure knows how to do the PR… I know after that trash talk to Lin out on media… But I take it. LOL!

  62. Same here! I don’t want Lin going there if Monta Ellis is still there! Ellis is another chucker, he has top 3 with more missed shots than Harden!! Not to mention Ellis hasn’t liked Lin since their GSW days where they competed for backup minutes behind Curry!

  63. The irony. Lin was often the recipient of 3 seconds bombs from Harden back in Houston.

  64. With a win, the coach would still get some credit for inserting Lin in the last 1 min of OT to help secure the win (even if an assistant coach might have suggested to insert Lin). That’s how it is. If they lost, he should have shoulder the blame.

I hope Byron would come to his senses to trust Lin. But I’ll wait-and-see what happens next. I don’t trust him and Kobe after what happened.

  65. LOL. Sorry to make you so dizzy. @psalm234:disqus began with this new website probably with @brentyen. Then @disqus_3ojL2FVU9I:disqus joined in and many others like me back in July. Anyway, @psalm234 just want this site to be monitored 24/7 so that no troll will make a day/time in this site. That’s why so many of us in different continents to do our tasks here. Better read website rules first: http://www.jlinportal.com/website-rules-must-read/ 🙂

  66. Okay. Let’s try this again.

Good job, Lin! Love that smile.

  67. I’m with you on this:-)

  68. best post-game show in town … gonna wait for PFV and knock off. Happy result!

  69. very true. Let’s hope Cuban has some Linterest!

  70. either one I would be happy :>

  71. I believe him being a Christian is big part of it… humbling oneself while praising others.

  72. hm, sometimes Lin likes to speak in hyperbole just to joke around.
I think he’s totally aware of the game clock

  73. Harden this year looks worse than last year. So that might be true.
And that’s not saying much! Both missed a lot and are inefficient volume shooters

  74. Photoshop gold mine. Come on people, don’t disappoint me.

  75. Who is Librafree, that’s what I really want to now. This person always has the best Lin photo.

  76. where are the highlights?

  77. Scroll all the way down.

  78. LOL That’s what I’m waiting for. Not counting the chicks until it can be eaten:-)

  79. @psalm234:disqus add Jeremy’s interview to video gallery.

  80. thx

  81. You can find it in homepage vid session.

  82. the 2nd unit rejoicing after the win.
They all look comfortable with Lin at the Point

  83. I guess everybody enjoys playing with Lin expect the one you know who

  84. i didnt watch this game. so, for those who watched the ESPN broadcast, how did the announcers treat lin?

  85. Another with the Spurs last season when he dropped 38 and put the game on OT. Assist to Parsons for a 3, with and-1 I think.

  86. JVG – returning to the Jeremy bandwagon
    Mark Jackson – meh…

    There’s a 3rd guy but I can’t remember his name. He’s ok.

  87. what did JVG say? did he do his ‘lin is now underrated’ thing tonight?

  88. Kobe: Can I have a Charmin?

  89. was it JVG who called out lin for looking off wes johnson in OT?

  90. Well the biggest joke he said last night was (paraphrasing) Jeremy is better being in the second unit, so he can be showcased as a player rather than distributor for Kobe.

  91. nice

  92. i really liked that no-look feed to kobe when manu was fronting him in the post. it was right on the money. that was excellent

  93. Kobe: Benching you didn’t work so sleep so you can’t outshine me.

  94. Watching the sweet highlights:

0:18 – Popovich seething to rat on the Spurs for leaving the basket open and an easy lane for Jeremy.
1:09 – 3 Spurs closing out on that Jeremy 3
1:53 – used Duncan as a screen to free him from Danny Green lol

Jeremy is the ONLY Laker who can read Spurs defense.

  95. Yes it was him.

  96. Longer highlights (TWC version) from jay but quality is a bit lacking.

  97. Yep he was very aggressive whenever he steps on the floor.

  98. LOL…yeah but this is a Lin fan site…we don’t really want to go there.

  99. The spoiled man-child who shall remain unnamed.

  100. Lin: I only have some industrial grade sand-paper for your hardazz.

  101. In case anyone is wondering why Kobe insists on taking the ball away from Jeremy, here’s one possible answer:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/lal/cat/PER/los-angeles-lakers

Yes, he likes to see his own face.

  102. “Not counting the chicks until it can be eaten”????
wow I’ve never thought of that one! You are more KS than anyone from my country.
I would still settle for “hatch” LOL

  103. reminds me of PBev grappling JLin’s head…..I don’t like that.

  104. Taiwanese Fan. Getting pictures from someone asian reporter. I guess:0

  105. LOL Just thinking about those days that we have chicks all over in 3 different groups: baby, medium and ready to eat. Never knew whether the chicks were still there when they were ready to eat. Happened couple times that all were gone because of snake ate them all or “chicks-snappers” took them all over stormy night. That was in my mind when I wrote that:-)

  106. Hey @psalm234:disqus, so who won the poll? Silly me, I cannot recall what I actually voted, but I think I might have picked 14pts…then again I might be wrong.

The only two niggly negatives I have after tonight are firstly that Scott will be so thick-headed that he actually believes that his great plan to start Price and make Lin come off the bench is actually working. Plus, Bryant going away thinking that trash-talking will make things work. I don’t like that at all.

  107. looks like some wrestling move….

  108. ahem, you’re revealing your age 🙂

  109. No….Mel had revealed that in her post.

  110. Not worry. You just have to look at how JLin had a good comeback on the trash talk. It would become the legend quote: “I thought we played pretty hard for a team full of toilet paper.” Well, Kobe and BS can do whatever they want to and not going to be surprised of their antics anymore.

  111. hahahaha Not going to worry about that. I’ve already shared it many times in the past:-) Going to live half a century literally next week:-) Proud of myself:-)

  112. hahaha. Miss those days very much. Chickens and ducks were much much nicer to eat. Miss those good old days. Yucky and tasteless chickens we have here and cost tons as well:-)

  113. It’s more like “Remember.. I am better than you….”

  114. A very blessed birthday in advance!!!! Here’s wishing you the best of health and spirit!!!

  115. Thanks! Can’t believe I’m going to be that old. Still remember those days when I was the youngest among my fellowship friends when I studied in US:-) That was about 32 yrs ago:-)

  116. Don’t trust him any more. It is all about PR.

  117. duncan shows a lot of emotion after missing last regulation.

lal gave up a last 3pts shot to manu that would have lost the game.

Also they finally reduced wes minutes to something more reasonable.

glad lal win still so the discussion can be about how lin, young and 2nd unit saved this game.

  118. Kobe really knows how to use media for PR…Lakers also don’t want to upset Lin’s fans on that trash talk from Kobe to Lin… LOL!

  119. Lin off the bench is working. Not because price is better then Lin but because Lin does not have to play with Kobe.

  120. Please don’t forget to vote for Lin. http://www.nba.com/allstar/
    #oplin

  121. I really like Spurs.. It’s Lin vs Parker..

    https://twitter.com/spurs/status/543636306694131712

  122. Mavs trying to rebuild their championship team. Got Chandler back. Got barrera, I guess they hope parson is like Marion. Lin would be good Kidd replacement.

  123. He plays with him some, but not as much.

  124. Extended highlights vs. the Spurs. Some wonderful plays.

  125. Great game by Lin. Happy for the win. Well, I stopped watching the OT knowing Lin not playing. But woke up in the morning learning Lin played big in the last minute. Couldn’t be better than that.

Just my observation: Lin played hard last night. Hardest game for the season in terms of defense. You can see Lin followed the ball on the defense end, doubling the guy who had the ball most of the time. Very agreesive defensively. Offense wise, I think Lin playing w/o Kobe making him playing loose and with more flow, getting teammates involved. I am suprised BS gave Lin near 30 mins. Maybe BS really wanted to win. The winning play, I think Lin made the best move. After getting the pass from Kobe, Lin drived and drew 3 defenders closing in, with other two Spurs players guarding Wes and Young. Even thou Wes was wide open, the angle to pass was not great and it could result in a TO. The pass to Young was the best under the condition. Fortunately for Lakers the ball went in. Lakers should have won this one in regulation.

I think this game could be the blueprint for the coming season. Kobe hogs the ball all he wants but Lin gets to play his games with 2nd unit and with significant PT. I think this was the original plan for Lakers since game 1 but Nash was out, so all these drama.

I just hope Lin can play like this consistently. The soft talk definetly put some wieght on Lin’s mind, IMO. Just hope Lin play like this every game with edge. With this type of playing, other NBA teams would then be more interested in the coming FA.

  126. Charmin should endorse Kobe for all that free advertising. It would be hilarious if Kobe starred in a commercial “don’t squeeze the Charmin”

Soon he can do commercials for depends

  127. Haha watching the highlight for the last Spur possession. Lin flopped when Joseph try to get the rebound.

  128. I saw that too..

  129. I feel like people are hyping up his pass wayy too much. Lol

  130. It was a good pass…LOL made under pressure.

  131. That wasn’t a flop IMO. He was pushed from behind. It was very similar to the push by Evans in that pre-season Kings game that allowed McCallum to drive in for the game-winning tip-in.

  132. Always something in between I think. Refs is calling fouls for Lin the entire game. Lin knows it.

  133. There is only one person whose voice matters and that of course is coach Kobe.

  134. It’s definitely possible but I don’t think Lin would do that (or I hope he wouldn’t) even though he was being robbed of calls all night (been like this his whole career though). But Lin has experienced of these last possession plays where he hasn’t gotten the calls to risk something like that. For example the infamous Nash bearhug and the example above. I’m sure there’s more examples but I can’t think of them.

  135. Gonna have to agree with USMC here. It looked to just be a bailout pass of sorts to Young and I don’t think he was even aware of Wes being open in the corner. This is much different than the Troy Daniels play against Portland in playoffs. I am very happy with the result and glad he got an extra assist, too. Although I wouldn’t have minded if Young missed and they went to double OT so Lin could statpad. 🙂

BTW, looked like Young was leaning in trying to draw a foul.

  136. They were down by 1 so if he missed the Spurs would have won.

  137. Oops, you’re right.

  138. He actually flops quite often which is important to being a good defender

  139. IMO, that was a bad play. Nick made that crazy 3 but it was really a bad decision or indecision by Lin
Kobe was in his face for that but of course Lin completely ignored old man

  140. Yeah, I see it the same, it was not setup for Lin. History is what it is. I’ll take it. If he passed to wes, who knows?

  141. Really, can you name some examples?

  142. First half highlights looks good. Lin shot the ball and didn’t just pass like a weak scrub! Second half ran out of gas I feel. Kobe needs to keep calling him soft mf if Lin will finally start playing some basketball

  143. Refs calls are so random with Lin.

  144. Oh boy that’s over hype for Lin. Makes us look crazy

  145. Wes was open. Lin eyes were closed. Lucky nick is hot

  146. It has nothing to do with what Kobe said IMO…LOL

  147. I will take randomness over biases everyday

  148. Actually I’m glad. I feel kobe calling him mf and bs benching him made front office tell bs to play Lin more. Again. Front office wants to make sure to not totally piss off Lin fan base.

  149. Me 2. At least he gets a few calls. Lin never gets charge calls anymore on defense go figure.

  151. Ha you are right

  152. Is Kobe Bryant Still Good Enough To Go Off On His Teammates?

  153. I am not so sure about that was what happened. But I have no theories here either…LOL

  154. I personally think boozer was only benched to cover up the Lin benching. Boozer finishes all 4th quarters. I think bs just wanted to start price so Boozer was his victim.

  155. Personally I thinkso. Damage control is all it is

  156. I think what really happened was that Boozer could abuse bench players, hence looked better. Thus got more chance to close the game.

  157. Very possible, but we also know that Lin can be overly candid at times, too. Hard to tell sometimes which it is.

  158. U have a point

  159. Could be….It is not like you are not making sense.

  160. Boozer is a perfect PF for the 2nd unit in this LAL team

  161. ESPN grilled Kobes post game on soft mf comments lol

  162. what good defender doesnt flop

  163. Easy, if Wes made it…..Spurs would had about 11 sec left for the final play. If Wes missed it….then..pretty much just game over. Lin seek to drive was because he plays bball that way, always attack the close out. Spurs contained it perfectly. Lin was think to eat more time out of the clock. WHat Lin did not realize was that the shot clock was less than 6 second at that point.

  164. I think he’s posting as khuang. 🙂

  165. McHale, he defended Lin well

  166. It’s in Lin’s destiny to always play alongside ball hogging shooting guards.

  167. If no kobe I be so happy. Lin nick Ed hill Wes starting 5. Booze Ellington off bench. Enough to at least make playoff. Have like 40 mill for other players.

  168. Lakers almost lost last night because of Kobe’s last horrible passes and his missing tough shots . Hardly seen any Lakers fans talked about it.

  169. This is la, fantasy land

  170. This is all on Scott. Even if Lin is a scrub, just let Lin bring the ball up would be better.

  171. I wanted Spurs to win in regulation so scott would have to feel the heat. Scott is a bad decision maker

  172. At this point, it does not matter that much. Unlike what happened with McHale, even b4 the Lin benching, Scott was already doubted by his coaching instinct.

  173. This guy is tanking even when he isn’t trying

  174. Librafree and PennyLin and others are just fans that collect photos/vids from all over web/social media. As you can see in the pic, the screengrab is from a vid that JLinNation from JeremyLin.net uploaded. That logo in the upper left corner is his logo.

I don’t know why they don’t just ReTweet stuff. Maybe they want the Retweets and Favorites for themselves.

  175. That is why he is good at this job. Everything just came from him so naturally..

  176. Lol

  177. Dancing Berry, Editor-in-Chief at LakersGround is very fair to Lin. I like him a lot better than the mods at RealGM Lakers forum, I don’t really think any of them like Lin much.

  178. I know Parker was hurt. Surprised his stat line and minutes were like price. It’s injury right? Surprised Joseph played so much

  179. I can’t believe how bad a job he’s doing. And some of the stuff he says and does is incredibly clueless. He put Lin in because Kobe was exhausted? How about to get another ball handler, good foul shooter on the floor?

  180. We don’t need to justify our opinions by seeking justification and confirmation off these other internet posters. I trust my own opinions and observations.

  181. But you have to admit that he fits this team well LOL

  182. I’m just posting what he said because I like it. It’s not really for that reason. And it is good to see that their forum head backs Lin.

  183. Still it is very good to see more positiveness.

  184. Joseph was a tough cover. Nobody could really guard him that well. Parker wasn’t himself, you could see that. But still, even when he is, Lin guards him well.

  185. So what do you think about Lin guarding Joseph

  186. Parker is under so kind of minute restriction I think.

  187. Fair enough, at least His analysis is sound.

  188. I see

  189. Exactly, well built reasoning is the only thing that matters.

  190. Pop yelled at Diaw for not abusing Kobe on Manu backdoor cut. Pop loves to expose Kobe. Best was 2-3 years ago, I told my laker friend friends watching with me, pop was going to run a play to expose Kobe and pop ran the play to get green open on movement and shot a wide open 3 exposing Kobe badly.

People asked me how I knew. I asked them how they coud be so blind in their Kobe worship. I just got blank stares of confusion.

  191. hahahaah, I can totally picture the faces of your friend at that moment..

  192. I thought Kobe was yelling at him because Lin could have catch and shoot instead of trying to penetrate and got double team. Lucky Nick made that shot.

  193. Kobe apologists are like lin apologists. On some level I can relate. People accuse me of making excuses for lin all the time.

  194. Well, I mean who you are talking to matter too…If you are on a Lin forum and you really want to say something bad about lin, e.g. his tovs. At least need to tone it down for the respect of the nature of the forum. JMO

  195. Playing with stars as a support player or glue guy starter pg, Lin is a 13-15 point, 5-8 assist guy. I believe that is basically what he is. I don’t think he will luck into a Nash role soon 20 and 10 type numbers though I believe he could otherwise

  196. Maybe, but I believe Scott thinks Lin always took the shot too early..

  197. Exactly, that’s all I want to see really. I’m tired of reading and watching regurgitation of tired critiques on Lin’s game. Fair commentating or slightly more positive to balance the mountain of negative narratives is much needed.

It’s not about justification or confirmation but recognizing fair and good analysis by unbiased people.

  198. I think that is too much, given # of his touches and what Scott wants from him. I predicted Lin as a 17/7 guy for LAL. However I did not realize the situation of LAL team and Kobe.

  199. People I speak too in real life think lin is a scrub. I usually end up defending him and they think I am insane and have blinders on due to what they view as Asian worship. Haha

  200. LOL that scrub plays better than Kobe tho

  201. Well that’s our opinion.

  202. Of course….nothing more…LOL

  203. He is still young for a pg… he will get even better in two years

  204. 26 not young for any position. It’s like being about 45 if life expectancy is 80

  205. He started at 21, I think that is young…

  206. 21 is young. 26? Not so much for NBA.

  207. Glad you stick up for Lin. I know it’s not easy being a Lin fan. I also agree with what Brent is saying. You have interesting points, but I think sometimes they don’t come across because of the way you say it and people misinterpret you as hating on Lin.

  208. You are talking about the body, we are talking about the experiences.

  209. All good points

  210. Oh I c ok

  211. I do think lin will be at his best around 30. He will need to rely on speed but become more deceptive and controlled. Also seems he could work more on conditioning so less tired end of games, Missed ft usually means too tired

  212. The biggest lin haters I know are Asian American. It’s like self hatred, or that they dnt want to embarrass themselves supporting Lin on racial lines since many Asian Americans dont want to think in terms of color lines.

  213. Those are just physically abilities. I think the most important thing for him is experiences. He needs more touches to actually know what will/will not work on the court face what kind of opponent under what kind of the situation. He ran 2X faster or 2X as conditioned will not make him 2x better. But if he can learn 2x better in decision making and 2x better in handling under pressure with that decision making ability. He will be 10X better.

  214. Good point. You are right, I don’t even think he knows whathecan or can’t do all the time. But he is now shooting more jumper so great to see. On Spurs, he just got tired though. Miss open shot, strips, miss ft is purely got tired imho

  215. Well I can see that. Not that AsAm all have to support him tho

  216. IMO, he just being asked to do too much on defense.

  217. true

  218. I don’t know, you tell me. I’m very curious! Like does Kawhi Leonard flop?

But first, what do you consider flopping? To me, it’s like those horrible CP3/Harden flops where they’re trying to fake fouls. Like if their defender is just touching them, or just putting pressure against them and they fall down to act like they were pushed or hit, I hate that.

But if it’s like what Brent is saying above where someone is really being fouled but the person getting fouled “sells” it to make sure the ref sees it to make sure he gets the call, I don’t know if I consider that flopping, although I’m not really fond of it either (but I understand why it may need to be done in Lin’s case where he’s not getting the calls he deserves).

  219. Did anyone hear JVG said in during the broadcast – “Ronnie Price is between a backup and 3rd string PG? Pity the fool, that’s Byron Scott. IMO, Price is not even worth a backup, he shouldn’t even be in the league.

  220. Yes that too. Over worked. But when the ” no defense ” Kobe is the other guard, not much option.

Iman did great job cover on defense and mda smart in some games put lin on other teams non scoring guards so save offensive energy.

But hard to see this happen for lin soon. Mike Conley has tony Allen. Lin has Kobe lol

  221. Like he got striped twice facing Lenard. He learnt his lesson. Knows to adjust his circle accordingly later. Those are things he actually needs to do it to know.

  222. Laker management probably thought no new pg means Lin would start, but Byron rebel with price

  223. I still do not know whay he loves Price that much.

  224. Well I’d like to see lin just have more success, Success breeds confidence

  225. Anybody knows the reason why Faried has to come off the bench?

  226. So Kobe can shine the way he and Kobe envision. Lins style is like thorn in side

  227. Cumulating smaller success is essential for greatness. No doubt about it.

  228. Can’t shoot? Pack paint on Lawson drives

  229. I don’t really see how Kobe shined with Price.

  230. Yeah, it’s like the flipside of when people say to Asian American fans that they’re only fans of Lin because he’s Asian American, too.

  231. But he can roll….if that was the reason, it was almost all on Lawson…

  232. That’s what they thought, but having Price in the line up, the other team basically ignore him and double team Kobe on every play. It back fired. Hopefully, Scott comes to his senses (if he has any) and put Lin back in as a starter.

  233. They miscalculated. They thought lin created the problem but they were wrong.

  234. And you can feel their coaches start to smile seeing that..

  235. I think that’s fine if they don’t want to think in terms of color lines as long as they truly believe that. Theoretically we should all try to be like that. But I also would not be surprised though if they’re haters for the other reasons you mentioned.

  236. Playoffs, uuuh.. idk. The west is really stacked. I take almost any other roster in the west then that one. I think they could play .500 ball without Kobe and that would make an entertaining season.

  237. This

  238. Lucky price can’t hit 3 otherwise he’d be playing 48 min a game

  239. Scott won’t come to his senses anytime soon. He said after the game that he liked the results the starting line-up was producing.

He seems like a guy who doesn’t like to admit he was wrong, so he’s going to continue exacerbating his initial mistake by taking that line-up as far as it can go before it implodes on itself.

  240. McHale was the clueless coach.

What’s Byron? He’s not clueless, but he makes dumbfounding moves (starting Price) and sticks to them for as long as possible.

He seems stubborn, hating to admit when he’s wrong. He’s also untrustworthy, slick like an oily politician, and is more talk than action.

So, to sum up Byron in one word, he is _________.

  241. He did OK, made a good block on him.

  242. Good point.

  243. Yup, he definitely said that.

  244. Bc that’s what Kobe needs a PG.. pass the ball & sometimes can make 3P shot… that’s it.

  245. Exactly. I really don’t mind Price is that bad bc in this case Lin will have more chance to go back to starting lineup soon.

  246. ” can make 3P shot.”

  247. incapable

  248. Ya, if Scott had Beverley or Toney Douglas alongside Kobe it wouldn’t look so obviously bad as with Price out there.

  249. BS (pun intended lol)
A more serious answer would be “devious”.

  250. Kobe Inc.’s #1 future employee.

  251. That’s probably what Rick Carlisle is looking for: JKidd’s replacement.
And Jameer Nelson is not the answer :]

  252. Maybe change ‘can make’ to ‘can take’ or ‘can foul’…

  253. I demand the mathematical equation to support your theory …. Daryl Morey.

  254. Lame brain, rotter, walker, biter…

  255. Mcidi…. uhhhh…mchale or dmoro….. uhhhhh….morey

  256. Something I must’ve missed until recently or he didn’t used to do so much before…
When opposing PGs try to do full court pressure or push up too close, Jeremy uses his other hand to to force them away as he goes up the court.
I think that’s from experience as well.

  257. Wait…so your friends are real? 😀
    Just kidding man, just kidding!

  258. Because fairy can’t play basketball. 🙂

  259. If you are streaming the game, you could try delaying watching for an hour. It allows you to skip all the non Lin parts and save yourself a lot of blood pressure and emotional issues. Then you can scan the OT to see if Lin showed up.

  260. In four words:

    Coach without coach instincts.

  261. Talking about shoe on the court…that was a good block on a shoe by Tyson Chandler..

  262. a-s-s-kisser.

  263. Because BS chose Price when he was on another team, he wants to justify he has eye for talent which he obviously doesn’t!

  264. So …are you saying BS is NATO?

  265. You all came up with some good adjectives.

I personally like Brent’s “incapable” or “incompetent.”

Clueless McHale & Incompetent BS – what a pair, lol.

  266. Did that count as a block?!

  267. He’s overly candid when fans cringe based on their own insecurity. Really, he will continue to downgrade himself non-swag style because that is his culture, his religion, and the way his community communicates back and forth. Bottom line, he will add more PR training but he’s doing fine. Fans just gotta accept he’s not going to Swag out straight on. Just trust in him like his ‘soft’ joke. Says a LOT, to have Swaggy laugh offline and see his genuine laugh to say all that he meant to imply. Sometimes the indirect is strong than the “I got you covered” mentally started by Sultan of Swat Babe Ruth, Joe Namath in calling the win, and Cassius Clay perfecting in calling I think the Sonny Liston fight. All Americans used to be more elegant. I believe Europeans are still a little more reserved.

  268. I agree with you. If we don’t expect him to go against the lesson he learned when he broke his leg in high school, that of remaining humble in the face of massive success, we’ll be more at peace when he does just ‘play for God’. We’ll never get anything out of him that says … I’m great, people who wrong me are gonna get theirs. That’s for someone else.

  269. Stop it, really. I don’t know ANY asians to have self-hatred and are the biggest lin-haters. I know a LOT of asians. This indirect attack on us is a know style you employ.

  270. The Positive Coaching Alliance was started by Jim Thompson in 1988, see below. It’s an amazing organization that has done good for kids all over the country for 16 years! Glad to see Coach Nick talking to the right core people.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_Coaching_Alliance

    Click his bio here:
    http://www.positivecoach.org/our-story/our-team/our-staff/

  271. Dallas not doing well against the GSW. Maybe they’ll push to get JLin to help them out. Proven chemistry with Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons.

  272. Hey BobbyH … I know it’s sort of random if Lin can play, but you could sense Kobe losing it and next time, hang around an just surf on your mobile. It was worth it. I think BSc putting Lin in was more non-tanking than setting up the fan-purported McHale blame game. Go Lin!

  273. How fast Lin comes back. Hope old faithful fans absorb this speed bump and come back too. Yep, it’s up and down and so is life for those who want to grow. Life is only stable if you want it to be.

So, i look back on the last 10 days as yet another proof that Lin has his core well established. Yes, getting benched really hurt him and all of us. But look at it … his 2 or so games of low O output did not include bad D. Good D in fact. He did his job. His head was bball wise as he said, ‘trying to figure it out’. Too full to have room for focusing on being Swaggy. His job is more complex. With mixed coaching signals, the yelling part institutionally refuted by Coach Nick and the Positive Coaching Alliance (see Brent’s post below), Lin helped to make it work yet again. He didn’t go ‘professional’ and public like Booz, because he knows he has to lead the team. It’s even harder from the shotgun seat with a mad and screaming driver.

But look at how well he did. Hope for it to stay running strong … run Free, Mr. Lin!

  274. You just remind me about the poll. I got 14 points right! So the winner must be me! I know I am a dreamer but I didn’t know I am such a good dreamer. Hahaha~~~

  275. Pretty weird, especially coming off of playing great in FIBA World Cup.

  276. No#30(sorry don’t know his name) is like desperately saying:” GIVE ME BACK MY SHOES” With the hand gesture. So helpless there. ^V^

  277. Second.

  278. I love your post about Lin coming back strong. I believe few can get to where he is now, being put down and insulted that way but prove all wrong on the court. Only alpha of alpha can do that. Not those crying and negative fans on the other site. Lin is really tough.

  279. Eric PincusVerified account
    ‏@EricPincus
@zukovka wild play – he had a good game tonight – don’t think Lakers turn it over in final 2 minutes like that if Lin is in game
    https://twitter.com/EricPincus/status/543642314288033792

  280. Time for payback

  281. Don’t think it will happen unless Lin plays well vs GSW next game bc this year Lin’s record vs GSW w Lakers were not good.

  282. Outdated. Most of his philosophy probably work ok 10 years ago.

  283. We agree. It’s so hard to overcome odds alone, and evenharder to take ppl with you. Hi 5.

  284. Any news about Nash anymore? After the backlash of him playing golf he said he’d be around the team didnt he? Looks like it was all bologna 🙁
I understand he’s under no obligation to be anyone’s mentor but it sure wouldve been nice.

  285. Yes sir!!

  286. It’s still surprising to me to see how quickly Lin bounced back and have a strong game after being marginalized.

It’s a testament of his high BB IQ and talents to understand the situation to take the corrective action by playing great defense and facilitating as requested by Byron (plus some scoring for a bonus) to make crucial contribution to avoid an embarrassing loss for the Lakers. As a result, Kobe owed him one. And he knows it.

    Linning, baby!

  287. Probably doesn’t want to associate his name with this train wreck of a coach and Kobe’s ball hogging.

  288. Give me any other PG who can outperform Lin playing alongside NBA dinosaur Harden or Kobe.

  289. Mitts off, snake-man.

  290. You are right man … To come back like that against a trying sas is something. A testament. I learn a lot from following Lin, including absorbing flank attacks from the fake fan trolls.

  291. You’re the captain, my captain.

  292. Sticking Lin back in = not tanking.

Sticking Liagainstn back in about 4 clock mins late = par for the course in bsc incompetence

Though I thought bsc was tanking, you don’t try like that against sas unless you want to win. Hmmmmmm …

  293. #30 is curyy lol

  294. because brian shaw is racist…about…well…his own kind LOL
jk he doesnt like him an faried was my 4th or 5th pick so im getting my a$$ fked

  295. Thats right JLin dont waste ur time with those scrubs they dont have the accolades to talk to u

  296. Was wondering where all of you have gone and just found this site, thanks.

  297. Looks like he see’s someone he knows, smiling and walking in that direction, right hand coming up to give a hug.

  298. Really?O__O I don’t know too many players but I do know curry though. Doesn’t look like him here…hah

  299. Like his cap FEARLESS

  300. They paid me $1 commission to do a “welcome” job to the new comer.
    So, Welcome, Tey Ling!

  301. Lin’s hat says “Fearless”.

  302. Ha ha …

  303. Heeheehee

  304. Welcome!!!!

  305. Maybe he’s rush to go to bathroom that’s why he did not participate in the talk here.

  306. And now Young said that they could make the playoff this year…..I hope the team will back to NORMAL (Lin starter, reasonable rotation on everyone etc) once Kobe breaks the record

  307. But notice boozer’s eyes were on Lin. Maybe he didnt want to participated too and go with lin.

  308. Exactly what I thought. It would be good if he could have friends at the game with so many people against him in that team.

  309. I just noticed that Spurs had Jeremy’s pic in their twitter both at halftime and final. What an organization… recognizing who truly impacted the game.
    https://twitter.com/spurs/status/543609725321895936
    https://twitter.com/spurs/status/543636306694131712

  310. Spurs not known as a dumb organization.

  311. How much did you earn so far? And why wasn’t I told about this, @psalm234:disqus? I want in on this… I’m a mod for goodness sakes. LOL.

  312. He really loves CA. He seem to have a lot of CA related shirts.

  313. Same here.

  314. So far I only earn one dollar yet, but as more new comers come I believe I will earn more.

  315. Welcome Linja.
    2 dollar commission earn.

  316. Ya! I really like Spurs a lot… So glad they like Lin & know how important Lin to the team…

  317. May you continue to prosper.

  318. They must be scouting him… FA here we come 🙂

  319. I wish that someone was me 😛

  320. They must know their players are getting old and looking to get some younger players to play in their system. Otherwise they will just go into rapid decline like the Celtics.

  321. Looks like Boozer is looking at the person Lin is walking out to greet.

  322. They have the potential to make it, but every loss now counts. Gonna be hard, the Kobe way.

  323. Opposite of Jersey gate.

  324. Hi …

  325. boozer likes work-boots

  326. Wait a minute. Are they…? Two of them? I don’t want to think about it >_<

  327. my answer is simple:

  328. He doesn’t. Scott just prefers someone, anyone else rather than Lin.

  329. You know it.

  330. Charmin.

  331. I thought I have wild imagination like nobody else, until I met Martin Chong. Yes. Exactly what you are thinking…haha:D

  332. Welcome Tey Ling. Didn’t know you don’t know the existence of this site. Good to see you!

  333. Stop proving my poor observation skill to people. LOL…

  334. Welcome Linja.

  335. I was convinced BS was tanking, but I’m not so sure anymore. I think Brent said that BS “naturally” tanks? And I kind of agree. Maybe FO did hire BS so they could tank without getting criticism (directed to them).

  336. I think it’s unlikely, but it would be nice if he went to Spurs. Somehow I don’t think Pop likes him much though.

  337. Class act organization from the top down to the water-boys.

  338. It could be you. What you need to do is standing there with your hair blowing in the wind, and pulling the famous Marliyn Monroe pose.

  339. So, why wouldn’t a tanker let his team iso to a loss after a win? interesting I must say.

  340. I guess they don’t want to make it too obvious?

  341. At least Pop is fair calls everyone out including the stars. The fact that Duncan, Parker, and Ginoboli can take the yelling holds everyone else accountable.

  342. Very true, Duncan, Parker, and Ginoboli aren’t young and will have to retire sooner or later. Besides Kawai Leonard and maybe Danny Green I don’t know who else can take over.

  343. That’s cause Pop used to be the GM before becoming their coach! He call all the shots and gets to choose the players he wants.

  344. That cap and hoodie is nice!

  345. Duncan and Kobe debutted about the same time, Duncan from 1997 draft, Kobe from 1996 draft. Both have 5 championships and are rivals for their Legacy! Even if Lakers were tanking Kobe didn’t want to lose to Duncan.

  346. robin’s always been a LOF. glad that there are guys like him and max kellerman out there.

  347. This this can make the playoffs if the starting lineup was Lin, Young, Ed Davis, Johnson, and Kobe. Enough of the dumb excuse about defense when Lin plays far better defense than Price and Kobe. Bench those lazy centers Hill & Boozer.

  348. problem is SA is waaaaay too crowded in the backcourt. parker’s not retiring in the next couple of years and they have cory joseph who looks like a beast of a youngster and patty mills…..they are all waaaaaaaaaay better than ronnie price. i don’t like the competition LOL.

  349. clarkson is rockin’ some vintage jordan 6s circa 1991. i remember buying a pair in black and white at a night market while visiting taiwan as a teenager for like 1/3 the price! i was sooooooo psyched.

  350. I like that Jeremy Lin gets on well with Boozer. He’s been around the NBA for years, and seems like a good guy.

  351. worthy calls it just like he sees it.

  352. I know this is off topic but I want to share this weird dream I had that had Jeremy in it (I sincerely hope he isn’t reading this).
So he was just in normal street clothes playing at a local park near where I live. I just happened to be walking by when I saw Jeremy and Amare Stoudamire going one on one. I don’t know why Amare is in this…I’m not even a fan.
I stopped to watch and nobody seemed to mind. Then I noticed Jeremy trash talking Amare…saying things like…”It would be nice if you could score without walking 3 steps first though.”
    I laughed.
Anyway, other people showed up and it turned into a media event and dream blurred out.

Yes, I know it’s not a ‘worthy’ share, but I figured if any people in this world would be able to appreciate a Lin dream, it would be you guys. LOL

  353. Why paid 17M to tank? They could have hire anyone smart to direct the initiatives.

  354. You from NY?

  355. No…I live on the west coast. Like I said…Amare made a surprise guest appearance.

  356. Humm…. Plot thicken….

  357. Anyone knows the significance of 3 steps in any context?

  358. He is himself. Scott brand. Cheaper than Charmin.

  359. wow, gotta watch MEM 76ers. in OT now.

  360. MCW 3 possessions wasted in mid OT like Kobe at end of reg last night. Lin never messes up that much.

  361. too funny

  362. I like Amare. He never said anything bad about Lin. Whenever Lin came into town to play the Knicks, he always gave Lin a big hug and chat a bit. He really seems like a genuine person, no office politic, no jealousy, 100% real.

Another former Knick/Rocket I really like is Toney Douglas. During Linsanity when he was riding the bench, he always cheered for Lin. You can tell it wasn’t a fake reaction. He really was happy for JLin even though Lin was his competition. Much like Amare, Douglas never backstabbed Lin. It was fun watching them play together in Houston for a short period before he got traded. I think he’s playing in China right now.

  363. Game recognizing game. Pop knows what’s up.

  364. We are praying for you without ceasing.

  365. I’m pretty sure this is not the way to his heart 🙂

  366. as Lin continuously proved himself flexible and reliable,
Lakers is becoming a team to beat for the 2nd quarter
of regular season. Lakers winning vs Champions Spurs
really tells a lot that this team can excel in many ways.
Lin is probably one of the underrated players in NBA.
He couldn’t care less for the fame but Winning as a Team..

  367. I was quite depressed the week before. I had thought Houston was an anomaly and so couldn’t believe the prejudice I was seeing again. Also sad to see Novak and Fields get little playing time. Then Wu Kong closed her site. I really thought that this was the beginning of the end for Jeremy’s career.

But I am better now. Jeremy is still the dogged fighter he has always been.

  368. What’s with the shirt?

  369. http://www.nba.com/2014/news/12/09/lakers-i-cant-breathe-shirts.ap/

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kobe Bryant and nearly all of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates wore black T-shirts reading “I Can’t Breathe” during warmups for their game against Sacramento on Tuesday.

The Lakers each had the T-shirts on their chairs in their dressing room before the game. Every player except backup center Robert Sacre wore the shirts.

Bryant and the Lakers followed the lead of LeBron James, Derrick Rose, Kevin Garnett and other athletes across American sports by wearing the shirts to support the family of Eric Garner.

Garner died July 17 after a police officer in New York placed him in a chokehold while he was being arrested. A recording of Garner’s arrest showed him gasping “I can’t breathe” during the fatal encounter, and thousands have protested a grand jury decision not to indict the officer.

  370. What happened to Wu Kong?

  371. It appears that she closed her JLin site and twitter account. I am not sure why some people said she was fed up of the NBA and how everything seems rigged.

  372. Here are some positives I can find in the current situation:

    1. Minutes – In Houston he may well be getting only 10 mins per game. With Ariza being a good defender and Beverly improving his offence, Lin would be marginalised further. Also, the way they unfairly blamed Lin for last years playoffs, focusing on one turnover, is a bad sign. At least with the Lakers he has started some games and also had good minutes off the bench.

    2. The media – The spotlight on Lin has increased. Will be good for his free agency. Also there are more fair and objective commentators, journalist. I love Worthy. Lundberg has stepped it up.

    3. The mid range – With more options Lin is able to practise and showcase a more varied offensive skillset. Good for his development.

  373. Thanks everyone for watching my games.
Thanks everyone for praying for me.
I know it’s quite difficult in the recent past but I believe God always take care of me and He has a perfect plan for me.
I’m in Minnesota now and will go for a rest. Good night.

  374. Thank you!

  375. Welcome. Maybe someone has a better translation than me:-)

  376. Thanks to everyone for watching me compete (play). Thanks to everyone for praying for me. Recently the situation is relatively difficult. I know God has (____), will look after me. I know he has a good plan. I’m in MN, want to rest so goodnight.

  377. I think he really needs his fans support right now specially in such difficult period right now. Don’t forget to vote for him in All Star Game.

  378. You did pretty good. 🙂

  379. from Smith A at the other site, about 3s and how game is changed from old days:

    http://grantland.com/the-triangle/is-it-time-to-move-the-nba-3-point-line-back/

  380. LOL. Thanks!

  381. Thank you.

  382. Any ways that give you the “notice” you want to try. It may not be the perfect way but it’s not bad to try. I’ll definitely pull a “Marilyn Monroe” on Lin if I have all she has. 😀 Guess, I will pull a “Kristina Wong ” instead then.

  383. That’s right. He needs all the prayers to “fight” with boneheaded BS and KB as well as Lakers. He knows what’s at stake but it’s out of his control in what BS and Kobe are doing unless God intercedes for him. Prayers make differences. Let’s continue to pray for him.

  384. I agree. Can’t believe Kobe & BS did to Lin… It’s his contract year.. smh!

  385. Well, human sinful nature–selfishness!!! Ego-centric!!!!!

  386. Unique way to deliver, with the pic and the simple and on point short sentence structure.

  387. Hahaha~~~Lovely weird dream. You Should go meet him in your dream and introduce yourself.

  388. Have to disagree. I want lin to play as little as possible with Kobe. Kobe’s game puts a stop to the rhythm that Lin creates with the rest of the team. Keep lin with the charmin unit.

  389. wow, this guy is a huge fan of Lin in Houston, he won one of Lin’s signed shoes in summer Slam cam contest. He even appears in Lin and Yao’s anti-shark fin shots.

Well, he went to Spur game shown how big a fan he is again.

  390. I know Kobe will slow down the pace, but it is soooooo important for Lin to get the starter status back. No matter what the motives behind (it’s obvious tho), that’s an insult to Lin and will affect his FA next year. Coach should stagger their minutes as much as possible. Don’t mind take out Lin first and insert him back again with 2nd unit.

  391. I’m not taking sides. But I’m a firm believer that it’s a foul play in this current case. The ferguson case is far different from this one. An apprehending officer should have taken lesser physical measure especially if the violator is already crying for air. Players are revolting. And this is a message to take another look at the case. But I don’t wan’t to hear any words from Herman Cain or any U.S. political personality using this case for their political campaign. My say for this is to reopen the case with a reputable defense lawyer in the land to defend the case. This is what the message is all about. The decision really isn’t right. The defense attorney who handled the case must be less savvy to salvage the case against the abusive cop

  392. true, their opinions still carry a lot of weight to shape public perception of JLin.

  393. As for the poll results, I’m happy to announce that JLin surpassed all our expectations. Noone got 14/8! LOL

Our closest one is 14pts/4asts which are not quite close to 14pts/8asts but I’ll be a generous judge to declare 7 members the winners anyway since it’s a happy day for Lin fans:) Congrats!

  394. I’ve heard from wukong and she’s doing okay.
She had to close them for personal reasons. I’ll let her speak for herself when she’s ready.

  395. Is that JLin’s younger bro and gf?

  396. What a disappointed result to see here for me. I thought I am the only genius one here who voted 14 pts. Who knew I have
so many other competitors to share my prize.

  397. no worries. You got win #1!
    I still have 0 LOL
Just 2 more to get to the top of the leaderboard!

    Just continue Linning!

  398. Most times with Rox team JLin is not able to showcase his skills in national tv. Am glad he is able to do it in the Spurs game, which I thought was a definite loss game. Have been watching his highlights umpteen time, the fast free flowing exciting game.

  399. Don’t forget to vote JLin for All-Star Ballot today!
I need to find time to create a Sticky Post. I’ve been preoccupied with some obligations.

    https://twitter.com/JLinPortal/status/544027118578176001

  400. Shouldn’t he call her “babe” or “honey” if gf, instead of homie? Because usually I only heard men call another buddy that. But maybe he prefer that.

  401. Yup, I’m still amazed at his Linning performance against the defending champ.
Even after he got benched, he still stayed confident and saved the Lakers’ face from shame with only 1 min in OT
    That’s one strong mental strength!

Kobe and BS should send him a Christmas gift soon :p

  402. I ll just let you know ahead what I want for my prize now. Tell your Minion to send me a big basket of fresh variety fruits! Thanks thanks.

  403. Definitely, as I have said in the other JLin site, we have to make a statement that we the Lin fans from far, wide, breadth, deep …are protesting the unfair treatment he has been receiving from both Lakers and Rox coaches. Enough!

  404. All those remarks on Lin being mentally weak, softie, beta male etc etc is nonsensical. Most of us would have a meltdown with all the prejudices hatred public humiliation demotion etc etc…. But for Lin he just continue to remain positive work hard to prove them wrong.

  405. Maybe I am conservative, but the closeness in the pic does not reflect that of a buddy.

  406. I think that’s what happens when you read too many comments on this site and others just before you go to sleep. LOL

  407. Ok good to hear that.

  408. Hear, hear!

That’s why Lin got to be where he is now.
He has persevered against the odds since High School, ignored the haters, work harder and keep proving his doubters wrong. He continued to inspire me to not ever give up no matter what the circumstances.

  409. I love the confidence :>
Minions will prepare some bananas for you!

  410. The Minnesota game is a winnable game for the Lakers, the caveat being Lin & 2nd unit are given more playtime and freedom to play team basketball.

  411. MIN Pre-Game Thread+Poll is now open!

    Let’s go, JLin!
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g24-lal-min-pregame-threadpoll/

  412. Notice the word”VARIETY “, please sends me more than just bananas. Lol.>_< But if you have more pricy prize like diamond or gold, replace that for me. Thanks thanks.

  413. I understand fully! I been there!

  414. Just because you don’t know any, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. You may know a lot of Asians but that’s not the same as knowing each and every one. There are a lot! Likewise you don’t know GoodDayLA’s friends and how can you possibly know what he says to be untrue? Self-hatred is a real thing and not exclusive to Asians. And in America it’s not a recent or new phenomena.

Have you read the book American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang? It sort of touches upon this subject.

  415. Don’t squeeze the Charmin!

  416. Late to the game, but oh well, LAST!

The plays I was impressed with:
1q4m – double pump layup. That was a straight up ballsy move, going right at Duncan.
2q9m – pullup 3. Great for Lin to create 3s for himself, not only catch and shoot.
4q11m – double team trap, excellent pass out to Boozer. If Lin and Lakers can consistently burn the opponent for trapping, then good things will happen.
End of OT – I honestly cannot believe Kobe actually passed out of a triple team and gave up a game winning shot attempt. What a softie! LOL

Scott made the mistake of benching Lin in the end of the 4th quarter, and look what happened, the Lakers allowed the Spurs to send it to OT. Scott almost continued his tragic mistake by not sending Lin back until 1 min left in OT. Guess what, Lakers win. Coaches never learn, good things happen when Lin is on the court at crunch time. If Lin weren’t on the court, the Spurs may have been able to double Young and prevent him from getting the pass.

  417. I’m not denying that he doesn’t do this, but he also can be blunt and honest. We’ve seen him do this. And especially this season we’ve seen him promote himself more, saying that he believes he’s a starter and how he can affect the game. He’s also stuck up for himself when a reporter was saying Kobe was saying how hard he worked. Lin responded immediately and he said he worked, too, and the rest of the team, not like it’s just Kobe working hard. Last season we saw him say how he was “THE point guard” not just “a point guard”.

And at the height of Linsanity, he had swag galore, everyone could see it. He was always humble in his postgame and interviews, but on the court, it was full display. It’s what made him very interesting to a lot of people IMHO. This mixture of humbleness and swag.

I believe that over-complimenting Lin is also a form of insecurity. It’s like fans don’t think he has enough accomplishments so they need to embellish, when he already has a lot to be proud of.

  418. I don’t know but looks like she plays for their school’s girls basketball team.

    http://www.hamilton.edu/athletics/womens-basketball/roster-detail?id=2783944&identifier=wbasketball

  419. > “He actually flops quite often which is important to being a good defender”

It’s the opposite actually. Lin doesn’t flop, that’s part of the reason he doesn’t get as many calls as other players.

Taking a charge is only flopping if you’re standing with your weight on your heels like Derek Fisher. I could use one finger and push Fisher over. Lin doesn’t do that.

  420. My understanding of it is possibly short for the term “homeboy” which is like a close or good friend, or maybe somebody from your old neighborhood where you grew up. I’ve heard it in many contexts.

They could be just good friends or they could be secret lovers, who knows what the context is. And some friends are close like that. I’ve seen brothers and sisters like that, too.

  421. Well maybe their good friends now, but who knows what the future will bring. 😉

  422. Really? I hug my female friends like that all the time.

  423. Mix = east and west. A great combo …

  424. That half exposed breast, I doubt Mama Lin will approve it……

  425. Now I hope that for the rest of the year he scores no less than 10 and has a few 25 plus games going as well as having 6 or more assists in every game and a few games of 10 plus assists.

  426. You never know, maybe being an ambassador could be another option for him at the end of his basketball career.

  427. daymond green hes replacing david lee

  428. Shirley Temple did it, and she had a great life …. world needs Lin PGing diplomacy.

  429. Lol you look crazy since day one that you become Lin fan. Don’t know why you are worrying now.
