G20 DET @CHA Game Thread

With Kemba is listed as doubtful (due to illness), would Jeremy Lin start tonight? https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/673901311776202753 If yes, he can definitely handle being a PG to power the Hornets to play teamball with great ball movement. JLin started in Kemba’s absence and had 18pts/5asts/5reb/1stl in 30 min on 10/24 preseason Win vs Pistons on the road. This was a game when Pistons starters and SVG wanted to win badly at their home-court https://twitter.com/JLinPortal/status/673957252345159680 Let’s go, JLin! Let’s continue to shoot at least 8FG  & 4 FT attempts. Relax, be your aggressive self & just play your game on matter what happens

    1st…yeaaayyyy finally!!!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    LOLOL 2nd

  • congrats..

May your 1st start translate to JLin’s 1st start w/o Kemba to bring the big W

  • cdblue10

    first time is a charm

  • cdblue10

Sorry Melody I beat you to it.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Just woke up and found this new thread. Saw that Kemba was sick, not sure whether JLin would start as I haven’t read the rest of news:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

hehehehehe! No worries! Just woke up and checked in. My internet didn’t cooperate with me:-)

  • cdblue10

No word yet,but highly hoping that he’ll start today.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Ok. Don’t think they will start Roberts ahead of JLin but who knows with Cliff:-(

  • cdblue10

I know that’s sad but true.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep. Thought Cliff is very predictable but no more with all the peculiar or fixing of his on certain players.

  • cdblue10

Well at least today,we’ll enjoy Lin’s game win or lose if he logs in more minutes.

  • occupatio

this is the game ive been waiting for.

  • cdblue10

    The opportunity.yes!

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes I will definitely watch the game. Pray that JLin plays well and enjoy the game.

  • cdblue10

    Yep.

  • Arsenium12 .

Here’s Steve Clifford when he was Stan Van Gundy’s assistant in Orlando (for 5 years). Before that, Clifford was an assistant to Jeff Van Gundy in New York and Houston.

    __________

  • NONONO

Many Hornets fans count on Lin for this game if Kemba is out. We know Lin would certainly step up. I hope Clifford wouldn’t disappoint us again by limiting Lin’s role and minutes.

  • Rick Johnson

Unlike last time when JLin started with Kemba out he doesn’t have to play “feed Al Jefferson” ball.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Be careful about sounding too giddy about Kemba’s status for this game which may permit Lin to start…At the end of the day, this will always be Kemba’s team and there’s not much Lin can do about it…I wouldn’t be surprised if Lin is put on a shorter leasch just to protect Kemba’s status..They can’t have the team playing much better with Lin..That’s not good for Kemba.

Remember, Mo William totally balled last year and led the team to a strings of wins..but he was eventually removed out of the starting PG for Kemba.

Kemba is having a good shooting season and the team has been winning with him, so it makes it even less likely Lin will get the starting PG…..

Realistically, Lin should focus on getting consistent 25 minutes off the bench and try hard to adjust to it…and then, when the season is over, he can leave and sign to a team that can offer him the starting PG spot or a 6th man job that plays 25-30 minutes per game.

With MKG coming back next year, Lin’s minutes will decrease with Charlotte..so this year is to simply pad his stats off the bench..thinking about winning the PG spot here is a fool’s dream.

  • NONONO

I do not think Lin is looking for starting PG position for Hornets at all. All he wants are what Clifford promised – bigger role for the team and more freedom to play his style. So far, he got very little.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Nobody is implying that Lin will take over the starting PG role permanently. The problem is that when Kemba plays, Lin almost does not get to run the point at all. This is an opportunity to play his game and play a lot of minutes. Why would you have a problem with that?

  • CJSHYY

I think so Lin just wants to have enough playing time on court to play his game from Hornets.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

If Lin starts tonight, this opportunity will give open mind Hornets fans a chance to see what Lin can do but wasn’t allowed. He can elevate the whole team.

  • NONONO

From past 19 games, you can tell Cliff wouldn’t not even let Lin to be a backup role player or a true backup pg.

  • CJSHYY
  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

It’s really stupid for Lin’s fans to give them stupid ideas or imply in any way that Lin not starting would be acceptable. It just shows how beaten down we are (PTSD).

  • CJSHYY

It’s not acceptable or not…. He just show the history from Cliff in the past…

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    He’s right. Be cautious.

  • CJSHYY

    Ya!

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

If Cliff started Roberts over Mo (when Kemba was out) that implies that Roberts is the better PG than Mo. Likewise it would imply that Roberts (or an out of position Batum) are better PGs than Lin. If Cliff does that we can draw our conclusions about Cliff and his promises.

  • spiderman

Also hope Clifford sets him up with the right line-ups. Would like to see more of Hansbrough and Kaminsky

  • blaznazn22

most likely, kemba will start and if hes not feeling well the coach will limit his minutes. If he can pull through it, i have no doubt coach cliff will give kemba close to his normal minutes

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

How does being cautious help? I’m not afraid to be disappointed, it’s been happening for 4 seasons now. But I refuse to discuss absurd possibilities as if they made sense or were to be expected. If Lin doesn’t start there should be an uproar.

  • CJSHYY

I didn’t watch their game last season but only read that Mo played well….If so why Cliff started Mo & Roberts? Maybe by the top or whoever… Cliff had to take turn to start both Mo & Roberts…. Lots of behind the door issue not just play well can do it…. smh!

  • NONONO

Gottlieb just gave you a warning – don’t be shocked if it happened. If you look back how Lin was treated in the past 19 games, anything is possible.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Might not you but some might get over excited just to get more disappointment.

  • CJSHYY

Ya! Like after that good performance in OT… why Lin’s playing cut short?! Supposed to use him more, right? None…

  • CJSHYY

I also think he will play… maybe just fewer min…

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yeah people are different that way. I prefer to have something to look forward to with the risk of being disappointed rather than being so fatalistic. In any case, even if Lin starts, there’s no guarantee that he will be able to turn it on right away. It’s a lot of pressure to expect him to be able to always take advantage of unique opportunities. I worry more about Lin having a great game than Cliff being a total !@#$%$.

  • NONONO

Hornets 11-8, Pistons 12-9. Winner might move up to #5, loser might drop to #10. It is big game for both teams.

  • CJSHYY

Both teams will fight hard for this W today.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

I have confidence on Lin, the guy has been tested.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

When people talk about Batum, Lebron or Parsons playing the PG or PF, it means that they do a lot of play-making. They still play alongside an actual PG. So even if Batum “plays PG,” Lin should still start alongside him. If Batum or Roberts actually start as PG instead of Lin that would be a real slap in the face!

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Pistons on a BTB road game.

  • CJSHYY

Last night vs Lakers, didn’t take them too hard to get the W. LOL!

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

    That’s true.

  • CJSHYY

I believe if Kemba really can’t play today, Lin will start as PG.

  • kjch

Tyler not looking too interested lol

  • Rick Johnson

Hornets have home court advantage too.

  • John Focker

Is it too late to change my stat poll vote? Just woke up and saw Kemba out… 🙂

Who starts at PG tonight will reveal Clifford’s true colors.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

    I also wish:-)

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Nathan just speaks the mind of Cliff and Hornets. That’s why I’m preparing myself for that. With Cliff as coach, I’m even more uncertain about JLin’s starter possibility than with KM and BS on this matter when the so-called pg was out.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

If you always voted Linsanity as you should you wouldn’t have this problem. Smh.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

If a mugger pulled a gun on me and asked for my wallet, I wouldn’t ask him, “Are you going to kill me so I can’t identify you to the police?” He might say good thinking.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

*&^%$#@! I knew he would be afraid to let Lin shine.

    https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/673990744688857088

  • MEL LIN

    Hairston will star at PG

  • John Focker

True but then Clifford/Kemba become an even bigger problem, and more frequently.

  • CJSHYY

    I knew it. It’s OK.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOL That’s true. I didn’t put my too much hope on JLin to start anyway. Kemba wants to be a hero again today. So, I will spend less time in watching the game. Go back to watch the game only when JLin is in the game:-)

  • sws94

Let’s see how Kemba looks. I think Lin may play more assertively tonight if he senses Kemba doesn’t have his usual strength. But he may just anyway.

  • CJSHYY

After that OT, I think Kemba will not let Lin have any chance to be dominate the game again. smh!

  • rookie75094

    Kemba will “try” to play…lol

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yeah maybe Kemba will look like crap, play like crap, but get 40 minutes to lose the game. And Cliff dodges a bullet.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Linsanity postponed.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    BIG.

  • Singapore BB Fan

    Liar.

  • CJSHYY

    Who?

  • rookie75094

Are you referring to that Disney movie…”big fat liar”?…hehe

  • Singapore BB Fan

    Cliff of course

  • sws94

Don’t agree. How would he prevent Lin from dominating a section of the game? Do you forget that is the same game Kemba scored 38 or something like that and 21 in the 4th quarter. That game is over if not for Kemba and Lin doesn’t even get to the OT. in fact, Kemba looked like the hero until Rondo made that great lob with less than 1 second left inbounding the ball. Kemba is fine, he’s not worried about Lin. In fact, I think he’d like to see Lin do more to help the team win. Takes some pressure of of him.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Kemba! Hear my voice. You’re feeling dizzy, nauseous, and weak. You need to rest…

  • CJSHYY

    BTW, what’s pregame routine?

  • Rick Johnson

If Kemba has the flu or a viral illness he should stay away and not infect the rest of the team. Not just if he’s strong enough to play.

  • rookie75094

    Strectching

  • heart

So is KW playing? Is Cliff starting Lin? Reluctantly? What did he say in his interview? Please tell, anyone?

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I would put him in quarantine for at least a week. 🙂

  • rookie75094

    Cdc protocol. .
    At least 1 month…hehe

  • DX

how about save him for play off. 🙂

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Lin will start if Kemba does not feel well after pregame routine. Stay tuned…

  • cdblue10

Good observation about Lin’s situation,I don’t think Lin will really have the plan to stay on this team, with the way he laid down his contract with Charlotte is just a service for them to get a new home next year.LIn and his team are smart enough to think about his future as a NBA player.

  • heart

Cliff is holding out for KW’s decision. If KW has viral flu, he shouldn’t be on the floor spreading flu virus to other players.

  • sws94

Lin looked pretty upbeat in his shootaround interview. Asked if he starts if he does anything different and he said not really, just prepare to come in earlier.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    duplicated

  • rookie75094

I can see it now…kemba play for 10 minutes…Jlin help win the game….haters will say kemba just had a MJ ‘s flu game and totally ignore Jlin

  • heart

or if they lose, you guess it.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I’ll take it. Just keep Kemba off the court for most of the game!

  • John Focker

NBA should have a protocol about infectious diseases.

  • wu kong

I hate how being a fan of Lin means reading/putting up with this. I hate how there are fans who are pissed and how there are fake fans right now spewing I hope kemba dies postings everywhere… ugh…. https://twitter.com/HornetSportSpot/status/673997048018919424

  • rookie75094

  • i liked the first comment by the person who said not to lump Lin fans together and that she wished Kemba well.

  • JustSayNo2HardensIso

Did Clifford just say Lin’s pick and roll defense was so good? Is that what he meant in his pregame interview? I couldn’t believe he said that.

  • WHA??? I feel like I just discovered that Superman is Clark Kent. Well, not at that level… anyway, I appreciated the comment. =)

  • Briiick

I am glad to see it because it means that Hornets must take Lin fans more seriously. It is harder to play dirty studs fabricating without being exposed by determined fans.

  • blubell
  • wu kong

We can be determined.. and lord knows I am. But my goodness we do not need to wish for or be happy about any injury or sickness. I want JLin to start, I want to see him play 30+ mins but I will not participate in gleeful happiness over someone’s injury or sickness

  • wu kong

and no they are not taking anyone serious over that kind of behavior.

  • heart

He’s going to spread his flu to others making them potentially sick too.

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Well, it’s Cliff and Hornets’ problem when that happens.

In Asian countries he’d wear a mask to prevent spreading it to others.

  • cdblue10

If your ill you sit,if your not then play,a lot of drama, this is not a soap opera Walker.

  • Lin Win

Not surprised since they are bench players

  • CJSHYY

Ya! They both are not good.

  • heart

    Yep.

  • NONONO

What has limited Lin’s role and freedom to play is not Kemba. It is always Clifford.

  • Singapore BB Fan

Too ‘big’ to sit out even for 1 game….Head you win, tail I lose.

  • Yascar

I’d be careful about all these comments about Kemba. Jeremy has played several games in the past when he’s not been 100%. Kemba is not necessarily putting up some sort of drama, he may just really want to help the team win, especially with Al down as well.

  • cdblue10

Can’t trust his teammates or just too scared that someone will play better than him

  • sws94

Absolutely. I don’t get it. Professional athletes, almost all of them, try to play no matter how injured. Including LIn. I have no problems with Kemba playing. It’s a big game, tough opponent, and if he can go at all, he’ll do his best with what he has.

  • Singapore BB Fan

don’t blame Cliff. he is just a puppet on a string.

  • CJSHYY

That’s exactly what I thought. LOL!

  • Acbc

lol, Kemba doing the MJ flu game act. Something isn’t right with management on this team. It’s a non event game in the beginning of a season. A player shouldn’t be playing sick or injured unless the season is on the line. The only thing on the line right now is personal stats, nothing more. The question then is, who is forcing the issue? KW wanting to play or FO wanting kW to play?

  • sws94

Byron needs to come off the bench. Let one of his assistants start the game, and maybe finish. He’s completely pathetic.

  • cdblue10

If you don’t pass the ball to a very particular teammate, everything you do will just a suspect.IT’s the way it is.

  • Lin Win

Man isn’t that illegal? If Kemba sneezes in his hands and touches the ball…………..

  • NONONO

Lin might have counted on his words.

  • Singapore BB Fan

An illness (flu in this case) is different from a minor injury. the body needs rest if its fighting a flu. I don’t remember JLin forcing himself to play when down with flu.

  • cdblue10

This guy is just whatever, not even worth to say even for a negative word.

  • emz

Lin has played sick before, at least several times with the Rockets (after a road trip up north) and I think once with the Knicks towards the end.

  • Yascar

He did. He stayed off one away game with the Lakers then came back the next game and didn’t look good on the floor. I guess my only point is most of them will play when they can. It’s not necessarily a conspiracy to keep Jeremy from shining.

  • Singapore BB Fan

Ya I know. must be someone moving his lips from behind. I doubt his words.

  • sws94

Michael Jordan did. Players play with the flu. Jordan had a great game with one but that’s the exception, not the usual thing that happens.

  • Singapore BB Fan

    compare MJ with KW

  • sws94

Depends on who you ask and who posts here.

  • cdblue10

That’s a championship game this is just playing for position, can’t trust himself to carry his team for next 60 plus game.

  • cdblue10

    Same thing as you

  • Singapore BB Fan

Ok, lets see how he flare in the game. if not performing well, it’s better to sit him.

  • bolero

    maybe pass the flu..lol

  • Yascar

I give up sws. I’ll find a little cave to watch the game in. Good luck here bro.

  • DX

    That was playoff game, right?

  • cdblue10

    pretty much

  • rookie75094

Off topic…Philadelphia just hired jerry D’Angelo. ..sam hinkie about to get fire?…. may be MDA get hire as coach… Linsanity 2.0 in philly….. I like.

  • John Focker

    Implosion incoming…

  • sws94

It was a playoff game. The point is, players play with the flu. Regular season and playoffs. If it is preseason then they won’t play.

  • John Focker

    Jerry Colangelo…not D’Angelo.

  • wandertheglobe

I don’t think so, mgt is going to extend Brown. Jerry is going to bring his son, Brian to replace Hinkie. Moreyball fails.

  • LinMad

Cliff said nice things about Batum and gave him the green light to do pretty much anything this season. Cliff also said nice things to Lin but he’s been in the doghouse for awhile considering he did really well during preseason. I’m amazed that Lin didn’t get his chance when season started.

  • sws94

I won’t be here long either. Not in this discussion and line of thinking. It’s exhausting.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Agree with that…It almost feel he’s trying very hard to protect Kemba and that means keeping Lin’s minutes restricted and ignoring Lin great pre-season stats and good start of the season…That also include keeping P.J in the rotation so to keep Lin’s minute bottled up.

I just hope Lin can come out of that with decent stats so he can leave to a team that values him more.

  • rookie75094

Talking about a quick douse to my fire of eternal hope….lol

  • LinMad

ya but has Lin skipped a practice and played the same day? Lin might not be 100%. Many players on the team are never 100%. It’s that they show up to practice hoping that they will be ready to play. Skipping practice is a sign that KW is probably really sick.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Who’s this classless guy?

  • cdblue10

I’ll set this straight up,the difference between you and me is I’m a pure Lin fan and I can be as Hornet fan if they’ll treat him right, for you ,you’ll trying to be a Hornets fan first then Lin 2nd.If your team will show that Lin will get a consistent role and minutes then we can talk about pure basketball but for now,we can just laid our different opinions and we can agree to disagree to some extent.

  • Rick Johnson

So if the rest of the Hornets start getting sick the next week or so it will be Kemba’s fault.

  • LinMad

    yes for spreading the flu.

  • noob

Actually I went to see JLin play his first year with the Rockets when he came to DC. Jeremy was sick as a dog that game and still tried to play.

  • LinMad

If Kemba sat out today, Lin would have started according to Clifford cause he has good PnR defense.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Yep, we always send our sick employees home and force them to use sick day.

  • wandertheglobe

It seems that BS is an equal opportunity players destroyer, he’s going to bench his #2 and #7 picks tonight. Nick Young got benched two games after saying the Lakers are “a circus act” or something like that. When are the Busses going to fire this guy?

  • Lin Win

This game will solely depend on our BIGS rebounding. If Drummond gets his 20 rebound game again then it’s over.

  • Yascar

This sort of statement I’m not sure about. I’m a Lin fan through and through and I can’t speak for him but I think sws is too. I’ve followed Lin through every game, every frustration, every injury, every team. Don’t label me as otherwise just because I think differently to you. At the end of this, I may be wrong but that only makes me wrong, not less of a Lin fan than you or anyone else here.

  • heart

In preseason against Piston, Lin played pg in 2nd unit and won the game. What happened since then?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Kemba missed shoot around but still start, what about what Cliff said earlier? He wanted to see how Kemba feel or he’ll start Jeremy?

  • John Focker

Nanny will be gone when baby retires.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You don’t want to hear my language now.

  • heart

That’s why we only observe his actions not his words anymore.

  • cdblue10

If you’re a LIn fan then that’s good,as I said we have a different opinions because I’m not a HOrnets fan,but IF they will give him a consistent role and minutes,I’ll cheer w/ you and even discussed the game w/ you the whole day if that’s the case.

  • LinMad

So Bucks PG is injured. Many of their PGs are injured. Even their third string PG is injured.

Looks like Lin should buyout and go to the Bucks. Jason Kidd likes Lin. I think he can call Milwaukee his home.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Kemba really worries Lin will get the spotlight tonight.

  • Lin Win

Lin won’t do it! Lin said in his free agency interviews that he wants to be in a competitive team. Bucks don’t have a higher chance of making it to the playoffs.

  • LinMad

maybe if Lin comes in, they might.

  • LinMad

maybe Kemba will only get 13 minutes today

  • LinMad

why is PJ the shooter lol

  • LinMad

wow what is Batum doing?! u can’t slowly dribble up knowing someone is behind you.

  • Acbc

I think you need to look at it from a different perspective. MJ flu game was a desperation game that was pivotal for their playoff survival. This game means little that may or may not do anything for the playoff picture of the team. In fact I’d say it does nothing at all except for only one player and that’s kW.

I firmly believe that a good coach should be one who can keep a player grounded with eyes fixed upon a team goal. Look at how Pop manages his players. They play as much as needed and never more than needed so that EVERYONE gets a chance to get PT in real game situations. Bench or starter alike, they think and play not one game, they play as a team towards a goal to peek in April. If Clifford allows KW to over play himself and play sick or reinjures himself, then he has failed both kW and the team.

Another good trait a coach needs to have is to manage team energies. Mchale was a terrible coach for this because he didn’t trust anyone else except his own few trusted stars. Mac would inevitably overplay them and lose back to back games because he wasn’t able to manage his team’s energy properly. The bad mindset is that of distrust and lack of faith in others to rise to the occasion. This shirt bench leads to lack of bench strength for long term playoff runs or closing out an OT game.

I wanted to give Clifford until February to acquit himself and I’ll try very hard not to judge him until then, but this is yet another notch against him. A coach with no backbone that allows GM and or owner dictate PT and roles are complicit in the act, though not as quilts as the masterminds.

  • LinMad

    LIN IN!

  • LinMad

wher is everyone??? lol most quietest game thread

  • cdblue10

    Just seriously watching

  • Rick Johnson
  • cdblue10

    Nice assist for MW

  • heart

Lin came in early after 6m in 1st qtr.

  • LinMad

im sorry but PJ has to go. He is taking so many bad shots.

  • your son’s voltaire

    why pass it to PJ??

  • cshot

lol only curry pulls up from that distance with ease

  • your son’s voltaire

he was wide open but he still suck

  • LinMad

I think Lin wanted PJ to pass to batum but guess not.

  • heart

Lin got one assist to MW after 1m when he first came in.

  • LinMad

The thing is Batum is 1-5 already so he’s worse than Pj at the moment lol, Time for some easy buckets for Lin

  • wandertheglobe

Lin wants everyone to be involved. Pass up shots to play team ball. That’s the PG the Hornets need.

  • cshot

1 ast so far so good

  • LinMad

ya but i don’t think he wanted PJ to shoot that time. The ball can’t stick like that.

  • Singapore BB Fan

warm up everyone. 2Q and 4Q JLin will make his moves

  • Singapore BB Fan

    JLin hands on hips….strange

  • wandertheglobe

MJ and his GF/Wife are enjoying the game.

  • cdblue10

    Wow Pj is playing well

  • LinMad

    the Lin effect

  • wandertheglobe

    Bonus for the Hornets.

  • blubell

    good D

  • wandertheglobe

    Pistons playing like slo mo

  • LinMad

Lin got a steal? I don’t remember seeing it.

  • JoeTeam

    PJ not blocking, anyway …

  • John Focker

Batum TO leading to Hairston 3PF, bring Tyler in!

  • your son’s voltaire

wth is Lin doing? he’s just bringing up the ball and immediately gives it up?

  • rookie75094

Batum playing pg..Jlin to the corner…smfh

  • JoeTeam

nothing for Lin, he’s just setting up the official offense that doesn’t factor his leadership.

  • heart

So far Lin only passes the rock. It seems like all set plays for NB and someone else and Lin is not one of them.

  • JoeTeam

I see it that they don’t have Lin factored in the offense, so whatever the reason is KW is out, Lin is just filling in until things don’t work according to game plan, that’s all.

  • JoeTeam

yep, and when it starts to fail is when Lin will do his stuff.

  • John Focker

Sure, park the Ferrari and drive the Mitsu Colt, to each his own.

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin is the 5th option on offense. smh. he just brings up the ball

  • JoeTeam

Yeah I know, that’s the way it is for now. Personally, I like my daily beater you know what I mean. Fancy cars too much gas.

  • cdblue10

    That referee again

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin just brings up the ball, or makes inbound passes. that’s it. this coach is messed up

  • NONONO

MJ needs to buy a better clock.

  • cdblue10

Batum is too much for the Pistons

  • Joe what do you know

Come on guys, have some patience. Good PG will observe the flow and pace of the game in the beginning and let the game come to him….

  • sws94

Lin has been pretty neutral so far. It’s mostly going through Batum.

  • CJSHYY

So far all the bench have not take one shot… just come in early. smh!

  • John Focker

Lin’s playmaking is hybrid Ferrari FXX K-level like Steve Nash, easier on gas. 🙂

  • JoeTeam

    totally agree.

  • LinMad

it does look like Lin is trying to involve everyone before him. However, sometimes Batum just wants to be the one like that last play.

  • cshot

maybe it was during one of those rebounds

  • Acbc

There’s nothing pure or unpure about being a Lin fan. It’s a degree of separation that is all. It’s like asking which of your children you love best? That love is differs from child to child that’s all, no more no less.

SWS loves Lin in his own way, just as we all do in our own ways. I don’t always agree with his way of seeing, but I’ll never judge his love for Lin.

This much I’ve learn this year with so many disenchanted voices about Lin. We all love Lin but we argue about him like a parent having to choose between one child to another. It’s unfair to even ask anyone of us to do.

  • cdblue10

They’re actually playing well, helping each other to get an easy shot.

  • JoeTeam

    give me give me …

  • Singapore BB Fan

so far so good for JLin. no need to push too early. leave it till late 4Q! if necessary.

  • Rick Johnson

Yes, get teammates involved. Score when you need to. Especially in the 4th quarter.

  • John Focker

Batum PG observes so much that it led to 2 TOs already…

  • your son’s voltaire

when Batum brings the ball up, he just launches a 3. when Lin does it, he immediately gives it up

  • Michael

What else should he do, eat it? 〜( ̄▽ ̄〜)

  • cdblue10

The hairsanity is really cute for that young boy

  • LinMad

lol that kid with Lin’s hair

  • your son’s voltaire

    nice OVER-HELP there Lin

  • NONONO

the night is still long. would Lin play 30 mins?

  • cdblue10

    Lin 2

  • blubell

    22222

  • your son’s voltaire

    nice jumper

  • Rick Johnson

    Lin overhelping left Blake open

  • cdblue10

    nice steal

  • Lin Win

    Another over help GREAT

  • CaliUSMC

    GOOD HUSTLE BY LIN WOO

  • cdblue10

nice hustle for the off reb

  • blubell

    2 steals

  • LinMad

aww that would have been wonderful

  • NONONO

    Lin should go for it!

  • heart

My observation: In the majority minutes of first quarter, the offense so far has been: NB PnR w/ Zeller and PJ. Set plays for NB to score. Only Lin passed to MW. It looks like Cliff is setting up for Batum to be the hero in today’s game since KW is down on weather. NB is playing full 1st qtr.

  • LinMad

tyler doesn’t look happy. He wants to PnR with Lin.

  • Lin Win

HAHA HAWES? Team was like wtf when he didn’t take the shot

  • cdblue10

He’s pacing himself because he knows he’ll play heavy minutes today

  • NONONO

    put Hans up please.

  • blubell

    2222222

  • Joe what do you know

With Walker feeling sick, hey you’ll never know…

  • cdblue10

    So easy

  • John Focker

Hawes doesn’t deserve the minutes that he gets.

  • LinMad

    godo stuf!

  • blubell

nice drive to the basket. good way to end a Q

  • CaliUSMC

Lin’s looking great. Hope he keeps it up.

  • your son’s voltaire

good game so far for Lin. needs to keep it up. but no more over-helping please. left Blake open twice

  • JoeTeam

Gosh, JLin just so confident to not even try until it was his ISO. He knew it from sensing the flow all game. That was cool. Did you see it too?

  • LinMad

Lin lets the game come to him before he decides to score. He was defending and playmaking first. Getting everyone involved.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

You don’t blink when you guard Lin.

  • Lin Win

LOL They thought batum was going to get it !

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Tell me who hates to play with Lin? Who?

  • JoeTeam

relax on the over help … it ain’t as black and white as all that, though people like to write about it.

  • John Focker

Best I can offer is a poster of it… LOL

  • CaliUSMC

    the whole team. lin sucks.

  • LinMad

Batum wanted to push it but he didn’t realize there was only 12 seconds left in the qtr.

  • cdblue10

That’s how dangerous he is because he’s a threat in a lot of ways

  • NONONO

How Lamb is +6 and all his stats is 0?

  • aras

people need to seriously calm down when it comes to lin…ooh he is only passing the ball he is the fifth option….this is not nba 2k16 you cant control lin and go shooting 15/15 from three…he is not used to coming in this early he is doing exactly what you should do. taking it easy not forcing.

  • LinMad

    lmao

  • JoeTeam

I mean JLin in as playmaker, just like that quarter ending ISO.

  • John Focker

    And so begins the anti-jinx…

  • CaliUSMC

    lol 😀

  • LinMad

    Cause Lin

  • Lin Win

    Kobe

  • cdblue10

Jeremy Lamb for 20 off rebs…lol

  • your son’s voltaire

Lamb just got 5 rebounds and 5 shot attempts? LOL

  • LinMad

I believe the overhelp is coach’s decision. Otherwise he would have corrected it already.

  • Rick Johnson

You’d think he was the tallest player there.

  • Lin Win

Lin again with the 2 overhelps when he tried to double team the rebounder.
    1 3pt and 1 missed 3pter

  • your son’s voltaire

    that wingspan is rediculous

  • JoeTeam

take note, JLin is trying to create bigger separation now – he’s working it himself and he’s warmed up.

  • LinMad

Lamb is 1-4 with that play lol

  • TTNN

    with 3 rebounds though

  • your son’s voltaire

huh? coaches tell players to help, not over help

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He drove to the lane found no one.

  • blubell

    good hustle

  • JoeTeam

ok, I’m going to watch in peace – this is going to be a great game with JLin minutes and him pretty warmed up.

  • Lin Win

What happened to Lin’s Nash tornado move.
If he did that it would’ve been an easy bucket

  • cdblue10

    assist

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin to Lam is easy $$

  • sws94

Lin’s shots will fall. He’s fine.

  • cdblue10

    wow Hawes

  • cdblue10

    Hawes that pass though

  • LinMad

Looks like Lin and Lamb will get their well deserved minutes today

  • cdblue10

    The Jeremy’sssssss

  • JJ Hui

Lin is awesome! Idk why these “special fans” want him to shoot right away, these special fans complaining KW selfish all the time, if you dont like KW this selfish, do you think other fans like Lin so selfish?
Lin will eventually fire up and we saw that all the time, so give a little bit of patience!

  • NONONO

Teammates are not ready for that kind of speed. it would cause a lot of TOs for Lin

  • occupatio

i missed first 10 minutes. what happened?

  • JoeTeam

JLin playing game plan, then he started to warm up and he’s slowly taking over. CHA had about 6-8 pts up, and right now JLin is trying to amp the separation.

  • Yascar

Kemba sick. Lin came in early. Facilitating. Doing well. Letting the game come to him.

  • cdblue10

    Hockey assist

  • your son’s voltaire

    and 2 over-helps. don’t forget about the 2 over-helps. lmao, joeteam

  • cdblue10

    It’s like a GSW basketball

  • blubell

the bench is playing very well. moving the ball.

  • JoeTeam

You are such a card … I get you, just start noting the good and soon it won’t matter bro.

  • Rick Johnson

    Beautiful ball movement !

  • NONONO

Lin is focusing passing, D, spacing, and avoid TO and foul.

  • cdblue10

    Team overall is playing well

  • your son’s voltaire

u get a thumbs up for that attempt

  • Lin Win

Wow we are sharing the ball now! No Batum please!

  • John Focker

No Kemba and no Batum…ball moves.

  • JoeTeam

I take all thumbs ups, no pride here.

  • cdblue10

    The tank for 33333

  • your son’s voltaire

the first unit should take note from the second unit

  • blubell

    Jeremy is out

  • your son’s voltaire

ok. u got another one. but oops, it neutralized it

  • JoeTeam

also PJ got 3PF early, though he was playing well. And he got a block called on him that was not a block unless his feet were just inside the circle.

  • Rick Johnson

Walker should go to bed. We got this.

  • John Focker

Of course, 12 pt lead. We don’t want Linsanity or anything to hurt Kemba.

  • your son’s voltaire

so much for team ball. Lin out, Kemba back in

  • heart

Why took Lin out??? The offense just got going… Everyone was clicking????

  • JoeTeam

he was v efficient that rotation. Better than most of his games in last 2 weeks.

  • blubell

    Jeremy back in again!

  • JoeTeam

    interesting!

  • Lin Win

Good time to go out for Lin!
    12mins is enough!

  • cdblue10

Need to rest a little bit

  • John Focker

Too much Hornets teamball killing the Pistons…gotta bring Kemba in to make game interesting again.

  • Rick Johnson

    Lin back, that was quick

  • NONONO

No sure why Kemba is in.

  • John Focker

To squander lead, no one does it better.

  • JoeTeam

zeller is not the man bummer.

  • Lin Win

    Lin to the corner please!

  • LinMad

    that’s BS foul call

  • JoeTeam

    take a free one then.

  • Lin Win

    It’s not ! Hands/arm touched!
    Team should’ve doubled immediately!
No way Lin was winning that.

  • NONONO

Lin was doing perfectly until Kemba is in! What is Cliff trying to do?

  • your son’s voltaire

    following your lead

  • blubell

Jeremy is playing well but your posts are overly negative.

  • sws94

That was solid defense by Lin on a much bigger man. That foul didn’t have to be called.

  • Lin Win

    …It was a joke ….-facepalm-

  • heart

Paraphrasing: Piston announcer said that was not good on Hornets to leave Lin a little guy on that switch…

  • occupatio

lin is back in bc pistons playing 2-PG lineup.

  • Rick Johnson

Unleash JLin and he would fill that up:

    https://twitter.com/ZachFox46/status/674014933462482944

  • LinMad

ya but he wasn’t even shooting yet.

  • Lin Win

    Arms touched is instant foul

  • blubell

    You over did it.

  • JoeTeam

wow … they say the nosebleeds are 12x price from GSW to other teams sometimes. I get it now.

  • LinMad

probably a lot of Chinese/Taiwan fans canceled their tickets cause of those 13-17 minute games Lin got.

  • your son’s voltaire

that’s correct. teammates needed to help Lin there. but it seems, only Lin helps on defense

  • heart

Yep. Even Piston announcer recognized the bad switch on Hornets.

  • Lin Win

    Don’t know about that.

  • NONONO

MJ must be focusing on shoe sales.

  • JoeTeam

ha ha, Lin flirting with over 10-13 pts separation, KW comes in.

  • John Focker

Kemba only Hornet with negative +/-.

  • cdblue10

Oh my god Batum, that pass was crazy

  • Lin Win

Hornets always had a small market.
They were pretty much on the same level as the 76ers

  • jeremy

    Lin misses a shot
    CLifford calls time out
then Lin doesnt even get invloed in offence
    hmmm wonder what he said

  • Rick Johnson

    Nice bucket Cody

  • your son’s voltaire

nice pass by Batum. gotta admit, he can pass. but really, you don’t want your SF playing PG every time

  • cdblue10

Batum is just throwing alot of beautiful passes

  • Lin Win

At least Batum + Zeller combo is in the books. I just hope Lin doesn’t get teamed up with Hawes.

  • jeremy

    Clifford does apparently

  • cdblue10

    That referee again

  • Lin Win

    Lighten up!

  • blubell

    Kennedy

  • Lin Win

I’m not trying to be racist or anything but every ref looks the same to me. Don’t know how you can remember.

  • cdblue10

Why is that kick ball when the other guy was passing the ball

  • cdblue10

    Lin222

  • blubell

    222222222

  • JoeTeam

being genuine in real life, people grin when they joke. Online, that’s a lol or jk or :-). So you know what I mean.

  • jeremy

Now clifford doesnt take Lin out with 2 fouls hmmm

  • JJ Hui

    Lin is awesome!

  • LinMad

MJ is here, which means Lin gets to play

  • Rick Johnson

    Bring in Handsbrough

  • NONONO

do you see a kid with the same jeremy hair and holding a Jeremy sign?

  • cdblue10

Cody will get paid next year

  • your son’s voltaire

sometimes clifford doesn’t play Lin enough. and sometimes he plays Lin to the ground. lmao

  • LinMad

    Cody is tough

  • blubell

    Drummond in foul trouble!

  • cshot

    oh yea

  • LinMad

I actually want Lamb in just to be fair but I know that won’t happen with Kemba on the floor. Maybe…

  • NONONO

All + except Kemba. He needs some rest. What Cliff wants?

  • Lin Win

Zeller’s like: Yo! I don’t care if you are rebounding 17rebs a game ! This is my game!

  • emz

the shirts, it has their identifiers

  • Lin Win

I thought it was obvious! Would a Lin fan tell Lin to go to the corner?

  • Lin Win

Which number is the worst one?

  • Lin Win

Wow I didn’t know Pistons were such a bad FT team. 40% from the charity stripe.

  • Rick Johnson

Why was Walker play so far off Blake?

  • Lin Superman-style rebound =)

  • NONONO

    Take Kemba out. No d!

  • JoeTeam

behind the back, just like Curry!

  • NONONO

    Lin is mad

  • blubell

    then an assist 🙂

  • cdblue10

If you don’t feel well just sit,you might jeopardize this win for your team

  • jeremy

    Now he takes him out
    another questionable sub

  • John Focker

Don’t want Blake to catch the flu…

  • NONONO

    Cliff.

  • blubell

Jeremy played the most minutes after Batum.

  • cdblue10

    LOL tapped in by Johnson

  • your son’s voltaire

i know right? plays him to the ground and takes him out at 40 seconds left. that’s ridiculous

  • JoeTeam

ha ha KW brick to back iron, needs a lucky tip in to do what JLin did with no effort.

  • Did he get 2pts then? lol

  • Lin Win

    SHAQTIN A FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jeremy

Clifford has been consistent at that whole season

  • cdblue10

    LOL…yeah to the Hornets

  • occupatio

the third guard always becomes invisible next to kemba and batum.

  • blubell

MW got the credit since he was the closest

  • heart

Piston announcer gave praise to Lin about being PG after he assisted Zeller for a jumper.

  • Marvin Williams got the gift LOL

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin is obviously someone clifford plans to just use and discard like a dirty old rag

  • Pete Roces

    spurs 65 – 76ers 29! LOL

  • cdblue10

    Christmas is early after all

  • Marvin should say, “Thanks much, Stanley!” haha

  • John Focker

Assist by Kemba or Johnson??? LOL

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Camera closed up to Kemba face and he does not look fine (medication). I questioned why he even plays at all this early of the season.

  • occupatio

lin and batum lead in assists. 3 each.

  • your son’s voltaire

    players always want to play

  • John Focker

    Real teamball happening…

  • zxcvb

Actually, that’s standard for someone with 2 first half fouls. Don’t want to risk picking up a 3rd; fouls often occur at the end of halves because of “fouls to give” or just aggressive drives for FTs.

  • cdblue10

    Johnson…lol

  • JoeTeam

    Really nice first half folks.

KW if he’s sick will fade. When he came back it messed up the rhythm I think. Before, the team was doing this and that and for some parts, JLin was able to command the team play.

What I liked was his calm backing of the flow, then doing whatever. You felt the team could get to 15 pts separation. With KW in, feeling went away.

  • NONONO

Kemba is 1/6. Cliff is happy?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    SMH.

  • occupatio

kemba is 1 for 6 from the field

  • heart

Saw that too. His eyes are kind of droopy, right? Probably didn’t get enough sleep. He should be resting.

  • sws94

Protect him from a foul. It’s done all of the time. No big deal.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Detroit feed praised Lin’s effectiveness.

  • zxcvb

I know Kemba is sick tonight, but the past two games really show Cliff giving Lin more slack.

And surprise! The Hornets look so much better. They already threw away 3-4 games because they trusted Kemba and Lamb too much…maybe they’re giving Lin an audition as legit 6th man.

  • your son’s voltaire

with 40 seconds left to play?

  • heart

    You know the answer.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    I think it’s medication.

  • blubell

    Not effective on D either.

  • heart

    Don’t speak too soon.

  • sws94

But he got to the line, is active off of the ball like when he cut when Batum got the rebound. He’s trying, you can tell he’s not his normal self.

  • Briiick

Lin is filling his stats sheet evenly, he always plays it smart for the win.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Sad

  • 1mtoldman

dont get yer hopes up; its just cause kemba is sick.

  • zxcvb

Ha! Truth. But I’ve already noted all through the young season that Cliff is different from McFired and BS. He’s wrong not to play Lin more, but he has a clear philosophy (size, matchups).

  • zxcvb

    Last night too. We’ll see.

  • LinMad

Lin is playing unselfishly while also getting his.

  • 1mtoldman

    walker/batum collectively 4 of 16.

  • Lin’s brand of basketball =)

    Winning TeamBall

  • blubell

He just needs a block or 2 lol

  • zxcvb

True point guard. Get other guys going first, and then dominate late in the game when needed.

That’s why it’s so frustrating to see him not close. He can easily drop 8-10 in the span of 3-5m.

  • 1mtoldman

actually lin seemed to be comfortably dominating the game. without taking many shots.

batum and walker bricking. actaully everyone else playing well. enough.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Absolutely and this is where Hornets fans misunderstood us Lin fans. If you don’t praise their stars, you’re not Hornets first. Smh

  • jeremy

    good call good call

  • jeremy

    yep whats new eh

  • aras

Lin has been playing great so far being calm making decisions…i hate to see people having this kemba vs Lin mentality stuff like this has to stop Kemba is Lins teammate… people complain about Lin having it better when he played in LA and Houston….thats bull this is the best team he has been on of all the teams.

  • Briiick

Cliff knows how to use Lin just as McHale and Scott, the question is about the politics on studs fabricating.

  • he looked sick from his eyes

Clifford has to be careful with how effective he is & how it affects any potential DET comeback

  • LinMad

i think that only happened cause coach didn’t give Lin a fair chance. If he had given Lin a fair chance, I think we wouldn’t make comparisons and we’d all be rooting for Hornets.

  • JoeTeam

guilty, I will not do that you are right!

  • LinMad

ya Lamb and Zeller are playing great

  • John Focker

Yes, Kemba is Lin’s teammate…the kind that rarely passes to him.

  • LinMad

ya get ur teammates tired of scoring first, then you jump in and do damage.

  • Rick Johnson

I hope Lin gets double digit points today. It has been awhile.

  • Phillycheese

First plyer off bench is i portant piece.

  • NONONO

Cliff must assign Lin to clean up whatever mess Kemba left behind.

  • cdblue10

    he got 8 already right

I think Kemba shouldn’t play too much now. Lin and Batum have this game. Notice Clifford isn’t going to Roberts and Zeller played so well, he didn’t go to TH.

Kemba has 4 FT, 4-4. Lin none. It’s a little unusual for Lin to have 0 FTs in 17 minutes. Kemba has 12 minutes. Lin 3-5

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Kemba needs to be in bed with some Chinese herd medication. Long season.

  • 1mtoldman

hes filling up stats positively othere ways; as long as he keeps getting assits, rebounds, steals, and keeps his turnovers down and shooting % up all his ratings that matter will move up big.

  • LinMad

btw, don’t expect Lin getting 17 minutes first half again. This is a rare occasion cause Kemba is sick. Lin will get about 10 minutes a half.

  • LinMad

    only 6 and 3 assists

  • cdblue10

    ah ok

  • your son’s voltaire

17 minutes straight. sat for like 2 seconds

  • LinMad

    2 steals too

  • takemeback2reaganyears

He wanted Lin to rest but oops, not confident. need D.

  • aras

I understand But think about the time Lin has had in those other teams compared to this? everytime Lin made a mistake you knew it was going to be on the coaches postgame interviews….stuff like that sticks with you especially if the last team you played for was the lakers whos coach is probably going to go down as the worst coach the lakers ever had…This is the first team where if Lin makes a mistake he will not get thrown under bus for.

  • 1mtoldman

you realize duncan and leonard are sitting out this one!!!! think of what it mite be.

the 6ers and kobe are both being expose as an embarssment to basketball; at least kobe is retiring.

i dont see hinkie changing “the process”.

  • heart

Yea, what was that all about? Why out then back in quickly?

  • Warren

Jeremy Lin is ‘unashamed’ about being a bandwagon fan of Cam Newton
    http://www.morningnewsusa.com/jeremy-lin-happy-bandwagon-cam-newton-fan-2347315.html

  • sws94

He’s playing terrifically. One overhelp, but that’s not a big deal, happened to others too. He’s not forcing anything, playing within the flow of the game, letting Batum do the heavy lifting and taking what the defense gives him. This is smart playing from Lin. No TOs, 3 assists, 2 loud rebounds. Now I only hope he gets to the line a few times, or gets some fouls on Drummund. I didn’t like the fouls called on Lin but whatever. He was allowed to play after getting the 2nd foul. I guess if he doesn’t get it early he has a better chance to keep playing in the first half.

  • NONONO

    need some acupuncture

  • Warren

Funny to see Lakers benching Russell and Randle.

  • JoeTeam

Lamb out I think, not sure why wasn’t paying attention.

  • cshot

too optimistic right now haha. wait till kembas back

  • 1mtoldman

    more space for kobe.

  • sws94

    Sad, imo.

  • Warren

they are not developing rookies properly.

  • NONONO

    1/7

  • “Kemba threw a wild shot” ..
Too much of this = DET comeback

  • your son’s voltaire

wow. two Pistons out rebounded 5 Hornets

  • LinMad

the lead will be gone soon?

  • LinMad

    airball by PJ

  • Brace yourself for DET comeback if Hornets keep wasting possessions

  • Lin Win

PJ just took away Cody’s block.

  • LinMad

you need Lin to drive in and score

  • Finally a good play , Batum-Marvin 64-55

  • your son’s voltaire

boring. whenever Batum and Kemba are on the floor together, it’s a 2 vs 5 offense

  • LinMad

Batum makes really bad passes sometimes

  • John Focker

Which is why I said “real teamball”. I remember Spurs rested four key players (Pops got fined) vs the Heat and only lost by two points. THAT’s a real TEAM that can function normally whether the starters are in or out.

  • blubell

    It’s ugly out there

  • LinMad

so many turnovers by Kemba and Batum.

  • Wow .. 4TOs by Hornets in 1st 3 min

    Clifford, Timeout plzzz

  • NONONO

    ugly ugly ugly

  • your son’s voltaire

yup. that’s why you don’t want a SF playing PG all the time just because he can pass. it’s just stupid basketball

  • 1mtoldman

that batum is a turnover machine!

  • JJ Hui

Dont speculate about the future now when Lin is doing good and have his minutes? It is always half empty glass of water and never half full, bad for your health, LOL!

  • John Focker

Let Kemba drop his own FG%, I’m not complaining.

  • DET couldn’t capitalize on Hornets 4TOs

So many wasted possessions by both teams

  • LinMad

no purpose lol, the commentators/announcers say both teams have no rhythm.

  • NONONO

it is boring than my HS team games.

  • If the opponent is Spurs or GSW, Hornets would’ve trailed by 5pts now

  • 1mtoldman

im having to follow the game on here for some reason any streams or even “play by play” boxes im getting are way behind.

  • Jeremiah (the Grey)

    You poor dear. 🙁

  • your son’s voltaire

    Batum TO
    Batum TO
    Batum TO
    Kemba TO

  • your son’s voltaire

    5 fouls on Agent Zero

  • occupatio

its about time that lin comes in. 7 min mark

  • LinMad

    5 fouls on Drummond lol

  • Dan Cohen

doesn’t matter.. it’s not ok when lin does.

  • LinMad

If Kemba/Batum aren’t shooting…it’s going to be Marvin/PJ shooting lol

  • Dan Cohen

    king of the obvious =)

  • Lin Win

Drummond 5pts 8rebs! Cody shut him down for good.

  • 1mtoldman

i think im caught up now everything just stalled out at halftime for some reason.

  • cdblue10

    Gam over

  • Nice putback by Marvin Williams 72-55

  • i think the play-by-play on espn and nba got screwy. i hope they fix it soon.

  • wow, I thought DET would be better

  • 1mtoldman

batum/walker have missed 16 of 21 shots and the hornets are still up by 17?

  • cdblue10

Looking forward for the game next Wednesday

  • LAJane

    LOLd…”studs fabricating”. Good phrase!

  • oh, it’s fixed now.

  • i think they’re back-to-back?

  • Yascar

Back to back for them. Although it was the Lakers lol. Not sure that counts for a game.

  • your son’s voltaire

i guess the Hornets lulled the Pistons to sleep with their boring offense, then surprised them with a few buckets

  • Lin Win

    3-13 Batum
    2-8 Sick Kemba

Rest of the team 8 shots or less.

    Just saying!

  • heart

Reggie Jackson is quiet. Their offense seems stagnant tonight so far. They pass only once and shoot and most of the times ends up w/ Irllosa. But that guy is supposed to shoot 3s and his 3 is not falling. We’ll see if they pick up.

  • spiderman

still a lot of time left.
Would like to see Hansbrough, but doesn’t look like that will happen

  • LinMad

    another turnover by Batum…

  • 1mtoldman

actually i like it better to phrase it the way i did below “have missed 16 of 21”.

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin’s excellent defense disrupted the Pistons’ rhythm and now they can’t even make wide open shots

  • 1mtoldman

    what 6 to’s as well for batum/walker?

  • Lin Win

BAtum finally has his 3TO pg

  • CaliUSMC

I have food coma and this game is making me ZZZZZz

  • cdblue10

Lin sets the tempo and everything follows

  • LAJane

True. But…if you truly have confidence in your value you have no problem sitting out if you’re sick, because you don’t fear that giving up a single moment will let some other shiny person take your place.

  • LinMad

and another turnover by Batum..4 now.

  • John Focker

Batum now 4 TOs and 3 FGM (3/13).

  • Lin Win

Batum never ceases to amaze me

  • 1mtoldman

    batum/walker 5 of 21 with 6 to’s.

  • cdblue10

    hahaha Hairston

  • Dan Cohen

yay, so we have codysanity!.. hahah so g-y

  • John Focker

    Padding stats indiscriminately! LOL

  • CaliUSMC

Im guessing Lin will close out this game? Stat pad!

  • LinMad

Nic has so much cushion. Coach plays him even with 9 TOs.

  • LAJane

    🙂

  • ah ok… no wonder their energy is so low
    thanks

  • Lin Win

    AHAHA PJ

  • Dan Cohen

man, you guys from the post, I thought it was like a tie game..but zam they are leading by 20..do’t know what the complaint is.

  • LinMad

better…if not then whatever Lin needs to be vocal about it.

  • Rick Johnson

If garbage time Roberts will close it out.

  • Lin’s in at 4:03 in Q3

  • your son’s voltaire

PJ so bad. no size, no speed, not athletic, not very smart. bad shooter. what else?

  • LinMad

    Lin in!

  • LinMad

The complaint is that Lin wouldn’t be allowed to play with 9 TOs or 3-13 shooting.

  • 1mtoldman

    yep;

  • John Focker

Twice the cushion of an ’80s Lincoln.

  • Sophie Paris

Hahaha… I wanna see more Lin that’s my only complaint

  • Hornets started horrible in Q3 with 4TOs in 3 min but DET couldn’t capitalize

DET just got tired legs in B2B game so this should be a comfortable win

  • cdblue10

    ohhhh make that

  • Lin Win

    Reggie Jackson your 16.4million dollar PG 4pts 1ast 1reb 2-8
    Jeremy Lin your 4million dollar bench PG 6points 3ast 2reb 2 stls 3-5

  • your son’s voltaire

Batum and Kemba has some kind of agreement or something? keeps passing to each other

  • LinMad

also it’s boring when Lin isn’t running the point. They don’t play with a purpose.

  • Lin Win

    Sigh Lin another FT missed………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

  • cdblue10

    They are close that’s all.

  • your son’s voltaire

    it’s called play-by-play

  • LinMad

    I think that’s coaching fault

  • LinMad

    7 pts now

  • John Focker

    Wrong numbers.

    Reggie Jackson 13.9M, Jeremy 2.14M.

  • LAJane

yup…because he’s so clueless about how to have a career. If only he’d listen to us more, because we know better about what needs to be done. :-7

  • linfan

Still time for piston comeback if hornets relax

  • 1mtoldman

pls. he’s hitting 80% plus on the season.

  • Lin 1-2 FT
He looked cold. Hope he heats up soon

  • LinMad

Lin better get the garbage time or else I’m taking it to Twitter.

  • CaliUSMC

While Kobe Bryant your 25million dollar SG is allowed to keep shooting at 29.6%fg and 21.8%3pt

  • sws94

He barely made the first one. I knew he wouldn’t make the 2nd one when it left his hands.

  • heart

    should not be starter.

  • Lin Win

Woops don’t know why I put 4mill for Lin

  • Nifty overhead pass from Lin to Hawes!

  • LinMad

ya i always tell him that but he doesn’t care

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin is too good. i think clifford is blind

  • LinMad

game so much mroe exciting when Lin is in.

  • blubell

    3333333

  • cdblue10

I told ya,Batum passes to Lin

  • Great Lin 33333333333 set up by Batum!!

    YESSSSS!

  • Lin Win

I used to remember him hitting perfect FTs in Houston.
His bread and butter is driving in the paint and getting fouls. He needs to capitalise on those free points like Har en does.

  • Rick Johnson

    333333 !!!

  • JJ Hui

    Lin 33333

  • 1mtoldman

    andwalker is out.

  • LinMad

    LIN for the 33333333333

  • John Focker

Yes, Batum does pass to Lin. The problem is Kemba.

  • Credit Batum for seeing Lin is open and setting him up perfectly!!

  • 1mtoldman

    gave that man a cigar.

  • Lin Win

    2nd pass of the game?

  • John Focker

Uh oh, Walker coming back soon now that Lin’s looking good.

  • Lin with the heat-check on long 2

    Keep shooting JLin

  • Lin Win

should be in the D League

  • your son’s voltaire

    Tolliver is good

  • heart

Lin 10pts and 4 assists so far. I think one of the Piston announcers is a Lin fan. He sounds very complimentary towards Lin.

  • cdblue10

More than that but he give nice passes to Lin

  • JJ Hui

    Sweet, Piston announcer praised Lin!

  • LinMad

gotta watch the Pistons feed after

  • sws94

I agree. That’s the shot that will expand Lin’s game. He rushed it. That’s a good shot.

  • cdblue10

    Almost

  • All of sudden DET is getting offensive rebounds

    Missing Marvin Williams & Zeller

  • CaliUSMC

    where u watching charlotte feed?

  • your son’s voltaire

2nd pass of the year haha

  • Dan Cohen

hahaha lin tried to do a curry.

  • what did they say?

  • NONONO

    reggie who?

  • cshot

    danggit so close lol

  • 1mtoldman

actually hes the 4th best point guard on the court 2nite.

  • yes, he felt it after making 3… just a bit rushed

  • CaliUSMC

I think when he contested Blake’s 3 but he ended up making it?

  • gandychan

why. he messed up his 3 point percentage..

  • zxcvb

I like him shooting that instead of protecting his %s. Shows his confidence.

  • Dan Cohen

you gotta give me one too.. I said many times before during this season.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

Batum 4-15? Good shooter but bad selection.

  • NONONO

it is for fun .why not? it is on court practice too.

  • zxcvb

He’s feeling good! Confident with the jumper this season, make or miss.

Makes will come over time and more minutes. Lin usually heats up over the season.

  • LinMad

needs Lin to create his open shots

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Part of the job, PG.

  • LinMad

Should have passed it to Batum so he can brick and hurt his FG more lol

  • 1mtoldman

while a break in the action: spurs over 6ers 96 to 52 after 3 with ginobili, leonard and duncan not playing.

6ers should just be sent to dleague.

  • Lin with 10pts/4a/2r in 21 min after 3 quarters, +2

  • Lin Win

Yes! 4th Q no Batum or Walker
    Heaven!

  • CaliUSMC

Everyone trying to pad stats lol

  • linfan

    Hornets looking bad now

  • John Focker

Too bad Hawes is in instead of Tyler.

  • Dan Cohen

    and lin is in.

  • Dan Cohen

    too soon

  • occupatio

lin should have shot on that drive.

  • Alain Gervais

no defense and missed good shots

  • LinMad

    Pistons playing with a purpose.

  • Lin Win

Hawes with the brick open 3 again

  • NONONO

Lin needs to take care himself.

  • Dan Cohen

bench has more energy than the pistons starters because I think b2b game…tired out starters legs.

  • Rick Johnson

Lin going to have to turn on the aggression. Team trying to coast to the end letting Detroit get back in.

  • LinMad

time for Lin to score, can’t rely on Frank and Hawes, Bring in Tyler!

  • spiderman

    Clifford likes Hawes.
    Hansbrough, not so much

  • LinMad

I want Hansbrough over Frank/Hawes when Lin is in. If Frank/Hawes miss their 3, we need someone around the rim.

  • heart

Everyone is playing PG that’s why. They should let Lin make plays. They’re copying what Piston was doing in the first half, pass one and shoot. They should move around more to get good shot.

  • Dangerous pass thru traffic
    Shoot it , JLin

  • cdblue10

    Let’s go

  • Lin had the right idea to attack, 2FTs!

  • linfan

    Lin looking to get fouled

  • Joe what do you know

I think coach is a secret admirer of man buns….

  • cdblue10

Stan will lose his hair again

  • JoeTeam

Y’all know this, here’s where Lin decided enough is enough. Let’s go!

  • CaliUSMC

    Lin gotta make them throwsssssssssssss

  • Lin Win

VAN GunDY gets SO MAD when Lin gets free fts haha

  • spiderman

sometimes I think he does it on purpose lol

  • Lin Win

    1/2 again

  • Rick Johnson

Shooting including FT’s off. Not sure what’s with him. Back problems? Changing shot?

  • Lin Win

    Frank missed the cut!

  • Good 3 by Lin although a miss

  • cdblue10

    The magical shot

  • blubell

    222222

  • CaliUSMC

Lin with a partial sky hook?

  • Lin with an acrobatic floater 😀

    Nail in the coffin! 😀

  • your son’s voltaire

Lin is 4 for 4 on circus shots

  • JLin got a flair indeed 😀

  • LinMad

    good ball movement

  • Linsensational!

  • Briiick

    Lin’s moving 2222222.

  • blubell

Papa Lin will bee proud 🙂

  • Lin Win

    Lin said “F*** me”???

  • cshot

LOL sky hook layup hahaha! I was like, “Oh my god Jeremy what are you doing….???? Nice shot!!!”

  • honoring Papa Lin!! LOL

  • JJ Hui

Piston announcer said Jeremy did that wild loader! Awesome!

  • Rick Johnson

    His dad’s favorite shot.

  • LinMad

Pistons is defending well now. Making it hard.

  • heart

I really think Piston announcers like Lin: “Jeremy Lin, what a shot!”

  • CaliUSMC

    Oh yeah Lol!

  • Papa Lin is like, “Yesss. Kareem Abdul Lin!!”

  • zxcvb

    Noice!

Lin’s jumper will come over time — just like the past 3 seasons where he was much better in the 2nd half.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Hornets won all the game that they scored over 100.

  • Papillon

and 2 for 4 on free throws… maybe they should give him the option to take a H.O.R.S.E. shot on FT’s instead! lol

  • cdblue10

    LOL

  • Alain Gervais

He comply changed his form so yea

  • That was really impressive indeed!

  • LinMad

LET THE MAN PLAY! Don’t be too critical on Lin, Clifford…I know he hates it when Lin does a mistake. But there are other players on team who make much more and he doesn’t care.

  • Lin Win

Lin really needs to figure out his 3pt fast.
    0.369 to 0.296 is a huge drop.

  • Rick Johnson

    Papa John’s Pizza time.

  • Singapore BB Fan

    Moderate Kemba PT will do

  • zxcvb

That’s gotta affect it as well. But even in previous seasons, he shoots like 10% higher after January.

  • CaliUSMC

Kemba back in? Is this real life?

  • cshot

    why is he sitting lol

  • Joe what do you know

The current packing order should be Frank>Psycho>Hawes…. Hawes should only be allowed maximum 5min….

  • Kwok Wai Lai

    Hornets out rebounded the Pistons.

  • John Focker

Kemba to reap in the glory.

  • JLin Fan from Australia
  • cshot

won’t allow jeremy to get more pts than kemba?

  • Dan Cohen

it’s always real life. you didn’t know.

  • NONONO

Cliff cannot let Lin outshine Kemba.

  • that’s bizzare .. 20pts lead w 6 min left
maybe up to 3 min left?

  • zxcvb

Last game, Lin came back in with 3-4m left. But if this is a blowout, he’ll probably just rest

  • Lin Win

Drummond was out most of the time

  • Dan Cohen

that is bizarre.. I thought he would leave that same unit out and rest starters.
he did that before..maybe owner doesn’t like kw to sit in 4th qtr (knicks game)

  • Dan Cohen

does reggie shoot bricks or am I just watching a small sample.

  • LAJane

I’ll be he hasn’t noticed that. If he pays enough attention to us, he’ll learn a thing or two 🙂

  • LinMad

    looks so disorganized right now.

  • spiderman

    stat pad time

  • CaliUSMC

    ;/

  • jeremy

    Lin done for the night

  • cshot

    what the h***

  • zxcvb

Play Lin a lot, you Win a lot.

  • Singapore BB Fan

ya, Kemba taking the garbage time

  • Dan Cohen

    what the heaven

  • LAJane

I often feel the same way 🙂 Serenity now.

  • Lin Win

Sick Kemba playing more minutes than Lin soon

    “Sick”

  • golfhacker

So why not put in Roberts in garbage time? Instead put in Kemba who is sick?

  • sws94

I think Kemba is very good at that cut. He does it a lot.

  • Dan Cohen

of course.. 12 mil vs 2 mil
you can’t have bench keep doing better than sttarters

  • LinMad

I guess Lin got his 27 minutes so it’s ok to sit him now. According to FO.

  • cdblue10

    Nice game…good win Hornets.

  • jeremy

Is that why Lin played extended mins tn?

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Yep like cutting Lin’s minutes.

  • linfan

Lin had a good night, but it’s over

  • Alain Gervais

    Game over

  • Lin Win

    Lin 26mins “extended” minutes.

  • CaliUSMC

    Teach me your ways…

  • LAJane

Kemba might possibly need to outscore Lin. Top dog reassurance?

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Making no sense why plays Kemba and Batum with winning so many points. What kind of strategy of it?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Yes, small entertainment.

  • KL

Coach gave garbage time to Kemba. Say what you want about Clifford, he knows how to pamper his “stars”.

  • sws94

Why the focus on minutes? He played well. He had one so-so stretch but he played great. My question is why not play Roberts now with Kemba sick.

  • LinMad

will never be a Linsanity night again on this team.

  • jeremy

    his norm is 20ish

  • LinMad

    his “sick” stars.

  • sws94

Kemba needs to come out. Batum, soon too. Just make sure it is in the bag.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

They want them to be on All Star game.

  • Lin Win

Well only explanation I can think of is because of Lin’s stamina.
He always had bad stamina and is probably tired.

  • JLin is playing well with 13pts/4a/3r/2s/1TO in 26 min
He rested with 20pts lead (95-75) after 1 Linsensational acrobatic floater

    5-10 shooting, +6

  • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes to both Kemba and Batum. Very very sick kind of pampering esp Kemba is “not” well.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

They thought Lin fans is about Lin while they do everything for their chosen ones only.

  • Sunny Sullenberger

Cuz Kemba needs to have more pts than backup Lin

  • sws94

    Hansbrough in. Roberts.

  • Lin Win

Only way Lin gets 30mins is when Walker breaks his legs or arms.

  • Rick Johnson

    Ya Hansbrough.

  • CaliUSMC

Kemba 14 pts. Lin 13pts. Well done Cliffy. GG

  • If needed, he can play more..

It was 20pt blowout when he rested w/ 6 min left in Q4
There’s no point in risking Linjury

  • sws94

That was a floater? It was acrobatic for sure. Great game from Lin. My only quibble is I’d like him to be a bit more authoritative when he was in without Batum. Other than that, he was terrific.

  • LAJane

maybe because of Briiick’s phrase…”stud manufacture”

  • cdblue10

Detroit is like a D-league team

  • Dan Cohen

won’t ever be..unless all circumstance fall into place once again.. so stop hoping.

  • Lin Win

Good win ! Didn’t expect a blow out!
Lots of credit to Zeller for shutting down Drummond.
    Bye

  • LinMad

ya this was a pleasant game for Lin fans.

  • grover chang

Looks like Lin and the whole team played well. To be fair don’t we usually say that is good coaching?

  • Lin Win

Nah! Blowout ! It’s better to play Roberts, Daniels and Tyler.
Kemba only got like a min or 2.No biggy!

  • heart

Good to see Hans and the rest of the bench playing.

  • NONONO

You thought Kemba was sick and Hornets had big lead with few mins left, why Cliff replace Lin with Kemba? If you look Lin and Kemba’s points,Lin was 13 and kemba was 12. Right after Kemba made 13, he made sure Lin and Kemba off the rest of night. Check all postgame interview and Hornets media, no credit for Lin.

  • LinMad

they just showed Lin talking to Kemba on the bench.

  • Rick Johnson

Hornets move to #5. Would be nice if Miami & Chicago lose.

  • Both JLin and Hansbrough are energy guys
    They should play together more.

Hansbrough would be a weapon in the playoff to be a rebounding monster & minimize 2nd opportunities

  • Rick Johnson

Shouldn’t sit next to him. May get sick.

  • LinMad

I like Tyler. He can get rebounds and PnR. He’s juiced like Lin.

  • linfan

    Tyler star of garbage time

  • cdblue10

MW is his closest team mate

  • LAJane

    BINGO! 😀

  • Great job by Hornets to put away Pistons with tired legs early.

Now they can rest for Wed game

  • LinMad

they keep showing Lin on the bench lol. Give some spotlight on Tyler lol

  • rabit1111

    pssshh…Reggie jackson, an $80M PG…..he sucks real bad…

  • Hornets cam just loves zooming in JLin’s hair LOL

  • cdblue10

    Is he really????

  • 1mtoldman

actually 14. “after kemba made 14”.

  • Will we see MJ slapping Hornets behind as they go to the locker room?

  • jeremy

    Hes not this bad
    He’s been good all year

  • 1mtoldman

    you conspiracy theorist you!!

  • Rick Johnson

MJ going to shake Kemba’s hand? Might catch something.

  • LinMad

    will MJ shake Lin’s hand?

  • yes lol

  • Love Lin

Lins gettin’ an interview on the sideline.

  • rabit1111

from what i saw…he was trying to outduel Kobe Bryant….bricking from all over the field.

  • LAJane

🙂 Still, I’m not in the same league as much more dedicated theorists here.

  • Lin and Zeller are being interviewed by radio and TV announcers

  • LinJa

kemba got referee treatment, thats all. Lin hustles. He needs to make his FTs. I looks like he has not taken FTs seriously. over focusing 3pts? not a bad night against east bottom feeder team.

  • blubell

I think Jeremy is doing the radio interview.

  • LinMad

ok no wonder i didn’t see him shake the goat’s hand

  • occupatio

    this was a boring game.
lin didnt force things, but didnt play with much urgency either. hes like that when the team has the lead. meh.

  • Acbc

This goes back to my early response to you. Pop would never overuse his players because everyone needs minutes no matter when or how they get it. Guys like Robert and Hansbrough should be first off bench during “garbage” time.

IMO, there’s no such thing as garbage time. There’s only wasted time. I saw the Spur bench play garbage time a few years ago against Raptors and the bench was like a precision Swiss watch. I still remember one play with at least 10 passes with multiple shot possibilities from anyone of those passes. They just kept it whizzing back and forth, through defences until the Raptors defence was so tired of chasing the ball that they gave up. The shot finally came from a wide open right corner 3. That was the Spurs bench demonstrating why they won the title that year.

Clifford is making too many of these little blunders in my opinion.

  • 1mtoldman

you want d league? you want d league? tonite spurs beat philly tankers 115 64 (well with a minutes left thats score). without ginobili, duncan or leonard playing.

up from d league (speaking of d league). boban marjanovich in 14 mintues scored more points than any player on the 6ers in the entire game.

to call 6ers a d league team would be insulting to the d league.

  • 1mtoldman

    excellent timing.

  • yes, the best PnR partner for Lin so far

    He’s an enforce indeed

  • rabit1111

enjoy this moment everyone…Kamba is sick and still played a lot. had to get his stats….

  • 1mtoldman

uh it did seem that way didnt it. (course just coincidence rite? rite? _

  • LinJa

saw same thing. i thought lin would be more dominating, imposing his will, like Lamb. Instead, he was deferring. It was a good night because of an easy win.

  • rabit1111

Lin is going nowhere with this team…

  • sws94

I know what you mean. But I was glad to see him mostly under control. 4a with 1TO is good. Lin missed 2 FTs though, don’t like seeing him miss any.

  • LinMad

I hope Lin gets 27 minutes every game like how Batum always gets over 30 minutes even with 4, 7, 9 TOs and 4-15 shooting.

  • heart

Lin came in early to disrupt opponent’s rhythm and gave Hornets early offense lead and kept the lead w/the bench. Of course, no isos from KW and NB helped. So team ball wins.

  • sws94

He was doing an interview for sure, saw him behind Cody while he was doing his.

  • rabit1111

Lin will probably get a 5-7M/year for 3 years after this season.

  • Steppen03

    Hellooo fellow Linsta fans =)
    HOOWOO!!!….
Great Win =). Let’s keep this up, CCliff ! Liking your rotations. Lin = 26+ mpg., comes in early and get into more flow of things. Let’s Keep the Winnings Rolling!

  • LAJane

What? Bad stamina? sheesh, where did that come from. oh…never mind.

  • Rick Johnson

Charlotte now only 1 game behind Cleveland. Would have been tied with them if they let Lin play to beat them.

  • LinMad

other teams will offer him more than that. It’s going to be up to Hornets FO/Coach to please him now.

  • LinJa

only when kemba is less or out of the picture unfortunately.

  • sws94

I think this is a well coached team. For their talent level, they mostly play hard and well. The ball movement is getting much better.

  • rabit1111

they think he’s a one year rental…they will try to diminish his value by limiting his playing time.

  • blubell
  • blubell

The game that got away… I wonder if that will haunt them the rest of the season lol.

  • John Focker

Minus politics they should’ve been 2-3 games AHEAD of Cleveland right now…

  • he over-facilitated a bit in the 4th with 1 dangerous pass through traffic but he did well shooting when open & setting up the offense. Batum also looked for Lin so that’s nice.

In 2 games, Lin got 9 and 10 FG attempts.
    Good progress

  • joyce ward

Cleveland is a game they gave away.

  • LinJa

Lin can carry a team 41min. no biggie

  • blubell
  • Steppen03

    Why so low ??
If Lin is the X-factor for helping Hornets grabbing Top 4 Seed EC and go deep into postseason…. And I’m sure he will if given the chance – he’s value can go up $10-$15M. Who knows… It shouldn’t be a big concern for us right now.

  • rabit1111

I just don’t understand why cliff put kebab and datum back in after the timeout with only 6 mins left and hornets were up by 20. And kemba is sick…..WTF?????

  • LinJa

    NBA star money making.

  • Dan Cohen

    no..asian discount so no. lower

  • John Focker

Secretly trying to run him into the ground?

  • Dan Cohen

    no.. asian discount remember.

  • heart

    stats pad?

  • dlin2

Do you think, Jlins bad shooting is due to a back problem. So he had to wrap around a girdle

  • John Focker

    …and BOTH Hawks games…and the 2nd Bulls game…and the 2nd Knicks game.

  • Marie Simon

    getting ready for All Star

  • LinMad

i don’t know, maybe they are showing that they want to keep Lin now since all the Lin fans complained and gave them a hard time. That’s why the last 2 games he got to play 27 minutes. A big difference from his previous 13 minute game against GSW or even those 15-17 minute games he had earlier in the season.

  • John Focker

Self-fulfilling prophecy. If Hornets treat Lin as a one-year-rental, then he surely will become one.

I hope Lin bolts next season…along with Batum, so short-sighted Hornets come out empty-handed.

  • LinJa

my expectation was 15/5 per game. He has been underperforming IMO. However his defense is delightful. So I wouldn’t call this progress.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    No, due to much defense.

  • Dan Cohen

we think he is the XFACTOR..but not gms and coachs and owners.
only way for those TO REALLY SEE that he is the XFACTOR is when he gets to start and lead the hornets team to constitient vicotry and playoffs with 18 and 8.. yes, that means kw as much as I don’t want to say it, has to somehow give up that starting role. It’s the playoffs where gms and coaches and owners are NOT BLIND.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Isn’t it too early to talk about these things. Lin is still working hard to fight for every minute on the court..

  • LinMad

50% shooting is not bad. If you’re talking about FTs, he’s averaging 80% this season. It’ll get better.

  • Dan Cohen

ask is your back hurt..why do you have that thing around yo back allthe time.

  • blubell
  • dlin2

He has a back issue during rockets and it caused his shooting to slip

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Everyone has something.

  • LinJa

Likely, considering he was marginalized. Lin isn’t putting his foot pedal to the metal. BUT! Maybe after ASB, he has nothing to lose, then he’ll SLAM IT!

  • blubell
  • guest

Hornets 5th place and only 1 game back in the Eastern Conference!!

  • LinJa

    Lin didn’t do anything.

  • LAJane

They have no reason to diminish his value, and they’ve already proven that by never throwing him under the bus. They have consistently had nothing but good things to say say about him – unlike all his previous teams. IF in fact they intend for him to be a short term rental, it will only show up in whether they limit his playing time and role to pulling their contract players out of the mud when they get themselves in trouble. That’s not deliberate diminishing. That’s everyday, garden variety team politics.

  • John Focker

Going Secretariat was what got him the knee surgery.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    Nope.

  • Steppen03

Why play with urgency when team is up big, why force things ?? Keep things under control and don’t lose lead IS the FIRST thing = Perfect !! JL7 still have to find hit shots – get them down and shouldn’t be missing FTs .

  • heart

    Don’t speak too soon.

  • takemeback2reaganyears

    How’s that hair still stickup?

  • LinJa

NBA Star Money Making! Every team needs a star.

  • jeremy

    not really

  • Dan Cohen

of course not.. he didn’t stand out in this game dude. what yo problem.
if he did and cliff didn’t say sht, then I will agree with you.

  • sws94

I think Lin is doing what he feels is right for this team. With Batum as the prime facilitator, Lin is secondary. Even Kemba is secondary facilitator with Batum on the court.

  • jeremy

    5-10 aint bad

  • LinMad

why are u always so negative about Lin? are you even a fan? I don’t think Lin was praised once by Cliff this season besides the off season when he was recruiting Lin. And Lin has had some good games including the one OT when he scored 8 pts. No word about Lin.

  • Chopz

Just saw the postgame stats for hornets guards. Lin had 13 points and lamb had 6 points. Seems like lamb shot tons of shots compared to lin and got less than half his points. Lamb was lin-efficient comapred to lin.

  • blubell
  • Dan Cohen

no, I don’t think we have that big of an affect.. if coaches want to do it, he can ignore us esp some here keep bad mouthing him so he can easily get revenge against us by not playing lin…. like how bs does it.

So it’s not good to bad mouth too much.
I think it’s his regular rotation.. some will get more some will get less. and rotate.

  • Brewkowski

That’s way too low, especially with the huge tv contract coming into play.

  • Steppen03

All I care about is PT and rhythm. If JL7 is missing shots – can’t be help… He have to knock more down and don’t miss FTs. He would have 15 tonight. PT + Rhythm, then scoring will come… Bottom line: Team Wins BIG Tonight!!! Great Game!!

  • John Focker

ESPN ranked Hornets 23rd before the season started…what a joke.

  • LinJa

Lin chose this team. So I expected more freedom for Lin to do his thing. I can understand maybe Lin has lower stats & mins because Cliff is experimenting rotations(per @psalm234:disqus and @occupatio:disqus rationale) . But Lin is still not getting to the numbers I’m expecting even when Kemba is not the primary PG. Lin is naturally the best or at least 2nd best PG next to Kemba.

  • Dan Cohen

not a joke. 99% would too because that was before season started.

  • leeda harun

So busy nowadays.so happy for this win.

  • LinJa

Great Game for Hornets, I agree. But Not Good or Great Game for Lin.

  • heart

    Piston PG did not have a good game. Reggie Jackson: 2/9FG, 4pts,0FT, 1asst, 3TO, 3PF, 24:05min.

  • rookie75094

Jlin has his Reggie jackson beat down as I wish… I am happy.

  • John Focker

Yet the Lakers were ranked much higher, and look at them now. A blind man could’ve seen the tank coming.

ESPN sucks and there’s no way around it. Bleacher’s looking better in comparison.

  • Steppen03

Regardless, even if RJ did have a very good game the Hornets will still take this one with JL7’s help.

  • John Focker

22% more pay than Steph Curry. True story.

  • LinMad

If Lin isn’t offered a contract similar or better than Lamb, he needs to go to Bucks.

  • new postgame thread
    http://www.jlinportal.com/g20-det-cha-notes-observations/
    G20 DET @CHA Notes & Observations

Jeremy Lin played well with 13pts/4a/3r/2s/1TO in 26 min
He rested with 20pts lead (95-75) after 1 Linsensational acrobatic floater/shot
Hornets won 104-84 against the Pistons.

    5-10 shooting, 2-4 FTs, +6

    Notable points:
    – Lin looked to facilitate early in the game but found the balance between facilitating and scoring
    – Batum was setting up Lin’s wide-open 3pt with a great assist as he drove to the rim drawing 2 defenders.
    – The Pistons looked tired in the 2nd night of Back-To-Back game
    – These are 2 consecutive games where Lin actively looked for his shots with 9 and 10 FG attempts earning him 27 and 26 min of playing time. These are good shot attempts to earn him 25+ min

  • Dan Cohen

I am not negative.. I’m being logical. The only one who stands out is zeller and mw has a double double.
13 and 4 in 26 minutes is normal for lin nothing to be wow. If you say 10 minutes of playing him in NON garbage minutes with that stats.. ok.

The problem is that too much lin talking by the coach when he is not doing stuff like curry will hurt him more than help him..and destroy locker room chem. like someone said here.. one reason why it’s harder for lin to be a starter is because most gms and owners and coaches had a grudge when linsanity was taking over basketball and ignoring the rest of the teams so all the teams whenever they play with the knicks was aiming for lin. This gets carried over to his career. Being asian is part of it too, but that linsanity thing was a blessing and somewhat of a curse. He now have to figure out a way to break that ‘curse’.

  • occupatio

    i agree lin is underperforming.

the situation is pretty clear tho. as the third guard next to batum and kemba, he will rarely see the ball.

when he is the exclusive playmaker next to lamb, they run many sets for lamb, so there really is not much dynamic reading-the-defense role for lin to play.

not enough pick and rolls for lin. its mostly setting up lamb.

its nice to play teamball and all, but trying to get inferior players, like hawes, going is not going to help lin’s career.

like tonight, he should be able to dominate some stretches but he is disinterested. the disinterested lin shows up by forcing passes into the paint instead of just shooting it himself.

  • That’s MJ’s number #23 =)

  • Dan Cohen

they still have kobe.. kobe influence the rankings for them. Without kobe, probably ranking will drop.

  • kittyhead

    1. stats pad and raise Kemba’s trading value
    2. stats pad and make them look like alll stars
    3. stats pad as a reward for his favorite players

  • Dan Cohen

does rj shoots bricks all the time, or am I just seeing a small sample.

  • John Focker

I would think THE OPPOSITE is true, if last season was any indication at all.

  • LinMad

things is I don’t believe Cliff said anything good about Lin this regular season.

  • CJSHYY

Need to RT this one. less than 10…

  • sws94

    Except the playoffs, perhaps.

  • Dan Cohen

not to the media… they still think the couple of rings makes a difference..plus once you have an all-star, in general people will think that one bad year is an off year.. like how kw a few bad games is an off game..so they will come around. But If you ain’t a star, one bad year can ruin you.. if you are lin.. one bad year, you are dead.

  • John Focker

Then the media is unwise, evidently. Not that we don’t already know that. 🙂

  • sws94

Cutting to the basket. He moves off of the ball well.

  • JJ Hui

Piston post game report announcer said the Hornets reserves make the difference!

  • John Focker

Outsider report more objective since no politics at work.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

From bottom 10 to top 10, this is a true turnaround for the team.

  • JJ Hui

They said Jeremy Lin came out really did well for the offense!
And put out a clip that Jeremy scored the basket! Sweet!

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Let’s be positive and stop dissing Lin’s teammates.

  • Brewkowski

??? No, Lin doesn’t need weak excuses from his “fans”.

  • Kwok Wai Lai

Nothing spectacular; just the normal Hairsanity.

Jeremy Lin Twitter Interview: “Like to Play Videogames Until Sunrise”
    http://www.morningnewsusa.com/jeremy-lin-twitter-interview-like-play-videogames-sunrise-2347479.html

  • JJ Hui

RJ 2/9 scored with KW, not Lin!

  • heart

    Exactly!

  • adele

    Yes. right observation there.

  • adele

    all star stat padding.

  • adele

can’t be more obvious than that.

  • adele

No, the stats are there for everybody to announce and there’s no secret on that. The fat contract is real. The face of the franchise is real. Every anointed star in a team will be given minutes no matter what.

  • adele

As what we have been saying, Lin can only do this if somebody is injured or not feeling well. Otherwise, back to 15-17 minutes per game.

  • heart

    Exactly. You’re right.
