Jeremy Lin is desperately needed to return so the Brooklyn Nets can stop a downward spiral with 6 game losing streak. But unfortunately, he is still ruled out along with Caris LeVert

ESPN Game Preview:

After starting the month of November with three wins in five games, the Nets have dropped their last five games. Four of those losses were by 19 points or more.

In the loss to Boston on Wednesday night, the Nets missed 16 of their first 22 shots, and finished the game at 39.5 percent from the field. Lately, they haven’t been strong on either end of the court.

“I think our defense dropped a little bit,” Lopez said. “They hit some big shots, and it just got away from us.”

Head coach Kenny Atkinson has also been concerned with the defense.

“Individual defense, guarding your man, we could do better,” he said. “There are no excuses.”

The turnover battle will be one to watch in this game. Both teams are in the top half of the NBA in turnovers forced, and points off turnovers.

KEY OF THE GAME: The Nets has to rediscover their the gritty defense to contest every shot and be competitive to have any hope to stop the losing streak.

Let’s hope and pray JLin will come back soon to help the Nets get back on the winning track, and most importantly finish the game healthy!

Let’s go, JLin and the Nets!

No Lin no win. But I wouldn’t stop watching until Nets are making no sense again.

  • cdblue10

I hope you guys won’t be so frustrated but Nets have already decided that this is the season to develop their youngster and to preserve and keep their core players from injuries. At the beginning of the season Nets organization have already planned to DNP’ed their players even for winnable games,it’s just fortunate for them that Lin got a minor injury and have the opportunity for youngsters to play and get the real NBA experienced.

  • Win

    = Tanking for nothing.

  • kittyhead

Hope Nets get a win or some ppl will complain all day long.

  • joy

Nope! Both KA and Lin won’t do that!

  • aras

When in the h*** is Lin coming back?

  • CJSHYY

I don’t think they are tanking more like don’t know what to do…. but today so far so good even we are behind now…. I believe Lin will be back soon (Next week I think ….)

  • aras

Its been 10 games He got injured what? a month ago? Hamstring injuries last 3 weeks or something doesnt it. They need a damn PG out there.

  • HVJoy

I try to ignore negative complaints, otherwise my frustration level would hit the roof. 🙂

  • pistolpete

    Why isn’t Lopez posting up?

  • kittyhead

Patience is a virtue. I hope Lin is 100% ready to go. I believe KA wants to protect his beloved player. Now is still early to feel anxious or desperate.

  • aras

Not about being anxious or desperate The team Needs someone that ignites the crowd or the team.

  • Win

At least we got beat in the 2nd qtr instead of the usual 3rd qtr.

  • guest

The Nets players should be ashamed of themselves being so lazy and clueless on the court.

    They should fire themselves.

  • sport

Just checked into the game, judging from the comments I guess I didn’t miss much…

  • sws94

This team desperately needs Lin. But, they should be playing better than how they’re playing tonight. I’m watching Knicks/Hornets as well. Hornets nowhere near as good without Lin.

  • HVJoy

Nets need to improve their rebounding efforts, among others.
Total rebounds for 1st half: Nets have 17, Pacers 25.

  • sport

How about improving the PG spot and not playing Foye as the starting or backup PG? At this rate they will miss the playoffs with or without Lin.

  • HVJoy

I agree about Hornets not as good without Lin. But I wish we had Zeller and Williams on Nets for rebounding.

  • sport

Yet they are still playing way better than the Nets who look like a tanking team even without their picks. Meanwhile KA has no urgency of winning games.

  • HVJoy

Sigh… Yogi Farrell, though a rookie, seems to perform better than Foye and Whitehead. I like his energy and competitiveness despite his lack of NBA experience.

  • sws94

They are a better team. But they go as Kemba goes with no Lin to bail them out.

  • BobbyH

Really I don’t see those losing games have help developed the young (or the old). 5 straight loss already and counting this one too and I don’t see any improvement in any aspect, defense specifically.

AK might do his best, but players, I don’t think they are in the same loop.

  • KHuang

Too much inexperience on the Nets.

They need LINSTRUCTOR to come back and teach them all how to WIN – Atkinson included.

  • sport

Except Yogi also tends to get selfish and go for his own shots while ignoring teammates even though yes offensively he’s more competent. I’m still mind boggled why Atkinson haven’t give McCullough anymore minutes after showing he could produce right off the bench and is probably the only player who can catch and make an Olley-Opp! Lin needs a player who is athletic enough to catch Olley-Opp and who else better than to start than McCullough over Booker! I’d play Lin, Lopez, McCullough, Harris, and Bog! And play Scola as main ball handler with Bog when Lin’s out. All those other young guys tend to get too selfish especially Yogi and Foye. Yogi can be the main backup PG with or without Lin.

  • KHuang

Lin is worth at least +30 to the Nets.

  • guest

Brook Lopez has 5.1 rebounds per game. Out of 51 centers, ranked 31. One of our more consistent 3 point shooters can’t be our center! Who else will rebound? Pick and rolls help rebounding stats and shot conversions due to follow up 2nd chance if point guard misses.
With a faster pace but low scoring; too much relying on the 3pointer. Do or Die by the 3 is just not going to work. What happened to the slashers and midrange shots? Brooklyn Nets are very predictable. It doesn’t matter if they are D-leaguers or not if they have to keep playing in a style that is not to their individual strengths.
This is beginning to feel like Byron Scott’s Princeton NO-ffense; forcing players to play out of their strengths.

  • sport

At least they’re keeping up with a better and offense loaded Knicks. Nets lost to Knicks twice already.

  • Win

KA is one of the inexperience on the Nets, the only different is he is an inexperience coach instead of inexperience players.

  • HVJoy

He was the reason why Nets defeated Pacers 103-94 in the home opener.

  • HVJoy

Hornets v. Knicks going to OT. 104-104.
    Go Hornets!

  • guest

Lin doesn’t seem as active on the sideline. I wonder if he was told to layback a little. The point guards do not seem to be playing like they were when he Lin first was injured and being vocal on the sidelines. Maybe was getting too much attention as an Assistant coach?

  • sport

Atkinson is having this dream that somehow Nets can play like the Spurs and Hawks except we don’t have the 3 point talent for that. The most consistent 3 point shooters are Hamilton, Lopez, maybe Bog, and Lin. Maybe McCullough is consistent 3 point shooter but we haven’t seen enough to know for sure. Everyone else are not consistent at all. Scola is but without plays drawn for him, he’s faded. The coach should demand Scola as the main one who should take 3 point shots over other bench players. There’s no reason why Scola shouldn’t be the main ball handler for the bench right now with these young players as backup PGs. Scola can to be 6th man of the team like Gino of the Spurs but I don’t see KA doing that.

  • sport

Thank You, Nets do have the talents but KA is not using them properly. There’s absolutely no consistence with the lineups and the best players are not getting the most minutes.

  • sport

Either he’s mad over the losses or he’s working and getting ready to come back? Assuming he’s really close to that point.

  • guest

It’d be one thing if the team was missing due to opponents good defensive effort. But teams are leaving them out in the open to chuck the threes and there are NO adjustments by Kenny. Very frustrating.

  • sport

That’s cause they know Nets can’t make those 3s. I seriously hope Lin has answer to the 3rd quarter and losing streak. If so I hope Atkinson and Fo will listen to him.

  • sws94

Knicks up 113-111 with 3.1 left.

  • guest

Good job Bennett, taking a shot and drawing fouls. There are different tactics to help improve rebounding. Some not the conventional; Lin starts working on the Center or Big causing them to foul a couple times forcing them to the bench. There is a lesser chance of getting fouled on 3 pointers, especially if you’re just chucking and missing like the Nets, than mid-range or drives to the net.

  • sws94

    Knicks win.

  • guest

I kinda wanted the Knicks, only so Hornets don’t get to big a ego thinking that they don’t and wouldn’t miss Lin.

  • HVJoy

    Not my night. 🙁
Nets are losing big. Knicks beat Hornets 113-111.

  • CJSHYY

Well said included KA. He really needs to do more homework.

  • HVJoy

Lol. For me, James Dolan’s Knicks are the “evil” team which drove Lin out of the Big Apple.

  • kauaiblue

  • CJSHYY

  • kauaiblue

    Fingers crossed.

  • HVJoy

Kincks are 8-7 W-L, same as Hornets. 🙁

I do hope your prediction come true.

  • HVJoy

    😞😧

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

The season is on the edge at this point…I’m not sure Lin can bring them back from this deep hole they’re digging.

  • guest

When Jeremy comes back and leads them to playoffs, he’ll be the All-Star. He thrives being the under-dog, and the Nets are lacking an on-court leader. Lopez is just too laid back and can’t get the team hyped enough or give good instructions to adjust. That is what Atkinson is missing the most; Lin’s ability to command his teammates and his decision making to change strategies in real-time.

  • CJSHYY

KA needs to do more homework otherwise his boss maybe will not be so happy …

    https://twitter.com/yestoresearch/status/802348738555629568

  • guest

If Lin is the All-star that we Lin fans think he is, then he’ll have no problem leading the team to wins like other stars; Lebron, Curry, Westbrook, Lillard… losing 10 games is nothing right now in comparison to a full season.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I agree here…I’m beginning to be very confuse by Kenny rotation and minutes distribution. The communist style minutes distribution for everybody is starting to annoy me.

I want the best players to get the most minutes, specially on nights where they are playing well.

  • spiderman

The only thing that may help Nets get back on track is — green beer:
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CkfFlt5O9bo

  • BobbyH

Linsanity brought Knciks back from a 7 games under 0.500. We will see how Lin does this time.

  • blueCypher

One silver lining during this losing streak – The east is pretty weak besides the Cavs. The Nets are not so far apart from 8th seed

  • YellowClaw

They really need to stop holding Lin back

  • zxcvb

Another silver lining: if Lin came back last week, Nets fans and media would say: “See? The team was solid even without Lin!” But now there’s absolutely no denying they’re completely awful without him.

  • zxcvb

Personal theory: Nets always intended to rest Lin for a month, but they didn’t want to upset fans and went with the “re-evaluate after 2 weeks” song-and-dance.

  • blueCypher

Haha, I’m not into that. I just want the team to do well and make the playoffs. It will be better for Lin if they are somewhat successful and make the playoffs.

  • zxcvb

But a large part of that depends on the team’s trust in Lin. Now they know they can’t win without him. A couple of lucky wins may have had them calling their own number in crunch time instead of letting Jeremy be the man.

  • joy

I don’t mind to see the Nets losing but keep losing 2 digits really depress me. What happen with the Nets GRIT?

  • blueCypher

I think the Nets and the coach are pretty much IN on Lin. I’m not doubting that part…

  • Steppen03

I’ll give a pass for KA. No Lin, No Win. It really doesn’t matter how many minutes are given to the more talented players right now without Lin on the floor. The Nets are too lacking (the pg power) to keep coming back from big deficit. I will wait until Lins back and start running the show. It is what it is. Linsanity Will happen one way or another. There’s no stopping it now. BELIEVE!

  • Rick James

if only they could both lose am i right?

  • Rick James

not good, at ALL. It seems to me that the season is teetering on the edge of a cliff. Time to bring Lin back in if the doctors clear him.

  • Steppen03

I don’t think ppl doubt Lin is the engine of the team. The Real question: Can Lin be the savior of the franchise, the cornerstone ?? Only by season’s end… For me, he can. Linsanity will happen. It’s inevitable.

  • zxcvb

Hope so. Guys seem nice, but I’ve seen Lin’s “friends” ice him out before. Parsons, even Kemba could do that at times.

  • zxcvb

It’s still very early. 7 games under .500 is not fatal at all. Just make sure he’s 100% when he does come back and those games will be made up quickly.

Let’s say they’re .500 by the All-Star break…that’s still fine for playoff contention. A Linsanity-driven win streak can turn things around in a heatbeat.

  • sport

D Rose and Noah? It would be smart for Knicks to make it D Rose’s team over Melo.

  • kauaiblue

lol… i would love to see both implode… jeremy comes back and busts them up…

  • blueCypher

All is not lost bro. Look at the standings, 8th seed Pistons are at 9 losses and the Nets are at 11. A win streak when Lin comes back can get them closer to .500 . Basically close to .500 and you have a shot at the playoffs

  • kauaiblue

exactly. there is plenty of time for jlin to do his thing.

  • kauaiblue

don’t worry yet rick… never count out jeremy lin…

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I have no problem with this, as long as Lin injury was bad enough to keep him out this long.

If keeping him out for a month is based on cautiousness and wanting to add extra rest into his time, than that would not be okay.

  • KL

I had thought at the start of the season that the only thing that could hold Jeremy back was an injury. Unfortunately it happened. The stage has been set but we must wait some more.

I guess we are learning patience at least.

  • KHuang

It disappeared when both Lin and Vasquez went down.

Grit doesn’t help if the rookie point guards CANNOT EXECUTE.

  • KHuang

That will not happen on this team.

If anything, it’s the opposite problem where all the Nets are relying too much on Lin for keeping them on the court.

  • KHuang

Absolutely Lin can still drive the Nets to the playoffs.

Now if Lin misses 20 games, THEN the Nets are in serious danger of missing the playoffs entirely.

  • KHuang

The biggest mistake Sean Marks made was signing Greivis Vasquez.

Everybody KNEW that Vasquez was damaged for the last two seasons.

    Vasquez did not hustle
when he played, and his injury was not an excuse for his terrible body language and utter refusal to play hard. He should have SAT if he was hurting that much.

Lin had to overexert himself to cover for Vasquez, and now the whole Nets squad is suffering from having no veteran PG.

  • KHuang

Lin absolutely can be and has been the Nets’ SAVIOR.

We just have to endure these losses as the curse of Greivis Vasquez gradually washes out of the Nets.

  • KHuang

The Nets being all in on Lin WORRIES ME.

Before Lin went down, the Nets meekly relied on Lin for everything. That put tremendous pressure on Lin, especially since opponents guard Lin and ignore every other Net.

For Lin to not reinjure himself, the other Nets need to dramatically step up and stop jacking contest 3s and stop playing dumb overplaying defense!

  • KL

At least they cut him. It was really painful to watch him.

  • KHuang

I bet it’s simply that he can’t reach them unless he steps into real games for them to work with him.

  • KHuang

    Bennett is a PLAYER.

Ever since that preseason game where he put up massive production simply by pretending he was Tyler Hansbrough, Bennett has been PRODUCING.

He’s been a heck of a lot more productive than starting PF Booker who is not producing as much as Atkinson and Lin fans think.

Same goes for CMC who is starting to come alive, albeit not as quickly as Bennett has.

  • KHuang

Anthony Bennett is “BLACK TYLER HANSBROUGH”!

He’s not as explosive or as big or as dominant as Hansbrough who was a double double producer whenever given minutes, but Bennett is in the same tough guy mold.

Both Hansbrough and Bennett remind me a bit of Moses Malone. Moses was a tough relentless rebounder who didn’t have fancy moves but was utterly dominant inside by sticking to simple moves. While Bennett is nowhere near as tall as Malone (Psycho T was about the same size as Malone), at least Bennett plays true big man basketball and produces like a true big man.

In fact, I’d like Justin Hamilton to be more like Bennett too. Hamilton is 7 foot and can score on anybody down low, he needs to get inside and stop thinking he is Ray Allen. Enough of the bricked 3 pointers from my man Hamilton and from Lopez too.

I was Bennett’s biggest hater on this board, but Bennett has PROVEN ME WRONG. And I LOVE HIS GAME because we just don’t see enough tough guy play in today’s NBA like what he and Hansbrough do.

Luckily, it’s a minor one caused by bad conditioning. As long as it’s not the knee, I’m not worried.

    https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/802486664132263937

  • Rick James

Any sane person could tell you that hornets were going to be worse this year. They let 3 great players go in JLin, Fat Al Jefferson, CLee. To replace this talent, hornets got Ramon Sessions, Bellinelli, and Hibbert. The GM, Cho couldn’t find suitable replacements within his budget, especially with Brick Batum taking most of the $$

  • Rick James

Bennett is not the black hansborough lmao. So far from what I’ve seen, Bennet is lazy and is awful at rebounding. Hansborough is always putting in effort, even if he fouls out in 5 minutes.

  • Yura

Oh. I don’t follow other teams but thought they were doing well? How disappointing.

  • sws94

They are on a 4-game losing streak. Their bench is nothing like last year, their depth isn’t there. Belllinelli plays well at times, Sessions is so-so, Hibbert is so-so. They still heavily depend on Walker and Batum. And MKG has been disappointing and not the defensive force he was cracked up to be. Marv’s shot hasn’t been great either, and he hurt his knee last night.

  • CJSHYY

Good news. Got this from the other side…

Not to get your hopes up prematurely . . . but according to NBA Injury Report/CBS Sports, updated today, Nov 26, the status of Lin (and RHJ) have been upgraded:

    Jeremy Lin: Game Time Decision
    Rondae HJ: Game Time Decision

“Maybe” (hopefully) Lin and RHJ will play in our Sun, Nov 27th home game vs SAC’s Kings.

  • TTNN

uh, I think the status for Lin was Game time decision yesterday on that site too, before they announce Lin is out.

    So it is not new.

  • CJSHYY

But Sun is more likely for Lin to play bc it’s home game vs King. I believe he will be back soon.

  • DX

Hornets has better players. They shouldn’t have problem getting in playoff. If lead by Lin, 2nd round or East final should be doable.

  • Tolin

Agree! AB cannot fight for position defensively. He was lazy to fight back when being pushed out of position. It is about efforts when talk about defense and you have a thick body.
I will give up on him just base on Pure efforts.

  • blueCypher

Haha, i think he will be gametime decision for every game from now on

  • Rick James

well, Khuang always has his “funny” posts, that you shouldn’t take seriously. As a Canadian, I am frankly dissapointed in Bennet so far. I was expecting more effort and guts out of him, however it looks to me like he is lazy or he has low stamina. As a Lin fan, and now a nets fan, I can’t give up on AB as long as he is on the team. Hopefully something changes with him and he improves his game.

i think many Lin fans (now Nets fans too) would skip Nets games until Lin comes back. It has been very strange rotations -and No fun to watch at all. I know Atkinson focuses on development. It is not excuse to NOT keep some good lineups for home games. it is bad for the fans when we are watching so miserable games. I think we are going to see thousands empty seats in Barclays center very soon.

“The offensive efficiency statistics he’s charting cannot be too pretty. The Nets are 4-11, No. 21 in offensive efficiency, and are averaging the fourth-most turnovers per game in the NBA. They are averaging 108.47 points per game, though, which puts them in the top half of the league at No. 13.

The Nets fell by 21 to the struggling Pacers Friday. Their numbers would almost certainly be prettier if they had their starting point guard back at full health. For Brooklyn, Lin cannot get back on the court soon enough.”

Brooklyn Nets, (Still Injured) Jeremy Lin and & Meaningless Losing

“Let’s keep this short, because while Jeremy Lin is out, the Brooklyn Nets are somewhere between tanking and being the worst in the NBA without meaning. They’ve lost six consecutive games, the most recent one by 21 points to the Indiana Pacers. Next up are the Sacramento Kings, but without Lin, does it matter?”

No Lin, no win; Yes Lin, some wins.

  • webattorney

I guess Nets can get an entirely new set of players if current players get injured. Just bring a new set of D League players because it won’t make too much difference.

  • webattorney

    What’s 10 years in NBA?

  • webattorney

No way should he be drafted. No defense. Will really make Nets weakest in D. Bring Jimmer instead because he’s way better than Novak.

  • webattorney

Yeah, I rather get the white Hansborough than the black Hansborough any day. Lol

  • webattorney

Stop blaming everything on Grieves; he’s gone long time ago. And Nets haven’t improved.

  • webattorney

Even LeBron couldn’t lead this Nets to playoff.

Hornets has gotten much better after Lin joined last year. They can be in playoff easily, but without Lin they are mostly 1 round trip.

  • Acbc

There’s just way too much unreasonable doom and gloom. Lets all try to remember that the Nets were pretty bad last year without Lin, so 10 games in with a new coach isn’t going to changed much. Is it as hopeless as it seems? From the video posted by Speed of Lin it appears the nets defence is pretty bad. The guys are running around not knowing what’s going on and why. They seem totally clueless to where they should be and who they should be guarding. Some of it is chemistry but most of it appears to be lack of fundamentals or good old basketball sense. So what’s the fix and how do you GET BBALL INTELLIGENCE? How’s knowing offensive system going to help defensively?

One of my good friends is a vice principal who was a great teacher. He told me story of how he taught language skills to a bunch of remedial students who was also taking auto mechanics. Shop was their favourite class and to them, what he was teaching was boring. He started by talking to them about cars. He then got them all excited by asking them to tell him about their own dream cars. They talked and talked like a bunch of car nuts about which car was the best. He then challenged them to write a paper about why their dream car was the best. The kids worked so hard on that paper. They didn’t know that they were working on was language skills. They started research material and read up on their favourite cars. The kids just tried so hard to say why they loved their own special car and in the process had to write, spell, organize ideas. They wanted to tell their own story but to that, they had to refine the little language skills they had and develop them.

There are good reasons why players defend better when they are involved in the offence. The obvious is that they are having fun. They are mentally engaged as well as emotionally invested in the outcome, they simply want to win more! What isn’t obvious is the activation of mental skills to run patterns to get open becomes more and more self evident that these very patterns are also being used against them. The defensive template is then naturally learned as response to knowing why all players do what they do. The first and most important step to good defence is knowing how to read offence. Once this happens, they defend better in anticipation. They can read and react faster knowing in anticipation of why opposing players are doing what they do. They can prepare much quicker for eventual movements that are meant to confuse them, just as they themselves try to confuse their opponents with similar movement patterns. When this happens, they start to gain a little bball intelligence.

WHAT Atkinson is doing is teaching motion offence but the skills to defend is implied within that system. Just as my friend’s teaching language skills. The kids learned to read and write because they wanted to use the language system to do something that is actually meaningful to them. This is why learning a complex system like the motion offence is so hard but at the same time it’s so rewarding. Any system, be it bball motion offence, language systems or musical systems, the benefits of knowing it is the ability to spatially know where you are at all times within that system. It’s this knowledge that allows you to anticipate, react and create novel deviations. Engaging them to have fun scoring by wanting to run patterns teaches them how to read and react as well on defence. The syntax within the offensive system is absorbed better by being engaged. Learning how to read motion becomes less mystifying and even logical.

Chemistry is being made and knowledge is being absorbed. Give them a season and you’ll be surprised how good they can be once they truly know why and how offensive plays are run against them.

It all depend on Lin’s minutes. I wonder whether Lin will be allowed to play 30 minutes…It looks like the Nets strongly believe in keeping their players under 30 minutes as much as possible.

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

LOL…Man, I wished I could simply regard your statement as just dark humor or a joke.

What is certain is that Lin will be under heavy minute restriction for a full month or 2…How suck would that be.

  • CJSHYY

Lamb played very well today & I think KA will want to get a W when Lin comes back… he will give him more min. I hope. lol!

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

that’s not a guaranteed thing for the Nets…They clearly have a blue-print which believe in keeping players minutes as low as possible.

With Lin coming back from injury, he will definitely be restricted..I’d be shock if he’s not…Look at how they’re treating current healthy players like Lopez.

  • CJSHYY
  • aggressiveplayer

Great post. Insightful and introduced me to a perspective which I hadn’t thought about.

However, I’m not sure how much this plays into actually playing good defense. Look at the Portland Trail Blazers for example. Last year, their offense was amazing. This year, their offense seems to be in a slump but their defense has continued to be horrible. Since they know how to play good offense, you’d expect that maybe they’d know how to defend well also. But this just isn’t the case. Under Terry Stotts, the Portland Trail Blazers have always been known to play pretty good offense. However, their defense has always been average at best.

  • aggressiveplayer

It almost sounds like he’s expecting to play tomorrow.

  • aggressiveplayer

I doubt it’ll be a “heavy” minutes restriction. Especially for a month or two. I expect him to be able to play in the 30 minutes range after a couple games.

  • joy

Lol! Lin knows his fans have been bored so he posts this video to tell us he’s coming back soon.

  • Acbc

Unfortunately they’ve gone star-centric so the offence isn’t spread out evenly. There is a price to pay IMO when people are left out. They naturally check out mentality so even though they may have the physical and bball intelligence to defend, they lack the desire to do so.

  • sport

Yes that pretty much sums up Lin’s situation. KA is stubborn to use his motion offense while being clueless to everything without any plays. Your best players needs those extra touches and plays. When I see Lopez and Lin being ignored while others chuck up horrible misses it makes me so mad. There’s no reason why the coach can’t make it clear that Lin and Lopez should have more plays and shots because they are the most efficient and best on offense and defense! Lopez always works on on defense and blocks shots even when he doesn’t get enough shooting opportunities. They need to fix it cause I cringe every time Lopez just stands there wide open for a 3 or pass while teammates go for iso.

  • TTNN

thanks. I think he knows his fans are really worried that he is not going to play tomorrow.

  • sport

Lets hope so since it’s home game. Also Nets haven’t lost to the Kings at home since 2012. It would be bad if this losing streak continues.

  • sport

    Not worried but bored definitely.

  • Rick James

Lol @ the black hansborough, still makes me crack up 😄…

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

We’re see…Lin having been injured may be a good excuse to limit his minutes because of fear he might get injured back if he was given regular minutes right away.

  • hchao

The latest is now “Expected to be out until at least Nov 29.”

  • aggressiveplayer

True, they focus a lot on Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum and don’t rely as heavily on the role players.

  • hchao

Not tomorrow night–according to CBS Sports’ NBA Injury Report: The latest is now “Expected to be out until at least Nov 29.”

  • sport

I really need to rewatch all the past movies before I can get into the new ones. I’ve never watched a full star wars movie only some scenes of an old movie and Phantom Menace when they aired on tv years ago.

  • KL

I have been trying to find some positives in this situation. I can say for sure that if Jeremy came back and turned things around, he would finally get due credit.

Houston getting back to the playoffs? It was all Harden. Lakers tanking into oblivion? Jeremy wasn’t man enough to turn it around. Charlotte getting back to the playoffs? It was Kemba’s improvement and Batum.

Honestly I was already reading the narrative that KA and Marks were responsible for the great start to the season.

Let Jeremy be the saviour he was always meant to be. Just be patient.

  • fire9flyer

They are vital to each other.
We can not have Lin and KA and without Mark and the team.
We can not have only Lin and Mark and without KA.

  • KL

I understand and they do need each other but I am talking about media narratives.

  • I don’t get it. What does it mean to “flush out the legs”? How does that get rid of soreness? And did he say that he had an arm-core workout?

  • aggressiveplayer

See that bag next to him that says Normatec? It’s a system (on his legs) that simulates blood pumping action in his legs to control blood circulation using advanced compression technology and gather clean blood there hence “flushing” out his legs.

  • sport

Oh I thought it was reported it’d be game time decision, guess not.

    Excerpt from Nets Daily :

Brian Lewis took a look at the schedule and thinks a return this week is unlikely. He notes that before Lin steps on the court at Barclays, he will have to return to practice first.

“Lin hasn’t resumed full practice yet. And with games upcoming Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, missing a month total seems a real possibility,” Lewis writes.

Lol, I didn’t know Joseph Lin had a man bun too hahahaa. wat???

  • blueCypher

It’s obvious that the hamstring injury grade was worse than they originally seemed to indicate. 4-6 weeks is grade 2 then.

  • ah, thanks! that leads to further questions about how that works, but maybe that’s the extent of my curiosity. =)

  • ohhh, that’s what he said, haha, that makes more sense.

  • linfan

Nets are doing the right thing.
He is a major asset and they want to make sure not to jeopardize that.
Make sure he is 110% before coming back.
Worst thing would be to come back prematurely and reinjure.
Not all teams would be so concerned.
When he does come back, the hamstring will be stronger than before the injury.
The idea is to have him available for the rest of the season.

  • HVJoy
  • Dan cohen

how can the hamstring be stronger than before injury?
things are usually stronger with the way it is before damaging.

  • HVJoy

I agree. Lin is valuable for the Nets.

Lin’s health is more important than the short-term wins. Let’s win the war, not the battles.
