G12 Brooklyn Nets (4-7) Visits OKC Thunder (7-5)

g12-lin

COUNTDOWN CLOCK

1 Dec 19:30
Milwaukee Bucks @
Time to kickoff
6 hours, 51 minutes

As the Nets are about to close the 5-game road trip against the OKC Thunder, they can’t wait to get Jeremy Lin back to the starting lineup, hopefully either in the Blazers (Nov 20) or the Celtics game (Nov 23). They have 1-3 record in the tough road trip. They are currently #12 in the Eastern Conference standing with 4-7 record.

It will be another tough game for the Nets to win since OKC Thunder is ranked 6th best in 3FG% allowed with 32.8%. But the Lakers loss also exposed the main defensive weakness in sloppy turnovers and rebounding. The loss of Jeremy Lin as the main PG to direct the offense was truly felt in that game.

It doesn’t help that the Nets is also ranked 28th in the league in allowing Opponent 3FG% at 35.9%. Only the Blazers and the Suns are worse in that department.

KEY OF THE GAME: Can the Nets play tough defense in the rebounding department and not allowing wide-open shots? A win is not impossible since OKC has lost 3 home games including the Magic, Clippers, Raptors before winning the last one against the Rockets. It is important to note that the Magic had 46% 3FG and held OKC 3pt-shooting to only 28%. That might be the same recipe that can enable the Nets to pull a win.

Let’s hope and pray JLin will heal quickly, the Nets will continue their formula of success, play gritty basketball, and most importantly finish the game healthy!

Let’s go, JLin and the Nets!

Definite loss. If they’re too cautious bringing Lin back this season is over.

    Probably best for Lin though.

  • Parent of Lots of Kids

Can’t wait for JLin to start playing again. In the meanwhile, a NY Post article on the immediate impact of JLin on the Nets’ profile and profit. Man, God could not have orchestrated JLin’s return to NY any better. The “perfect” ending would be if JLin and Kenny Atkinson would take the Nets to a Championship ring. Can you imagine how crazy Linsanity2 would be?

Is there any update on Jeremys reevaluation?

  • psalm234

A win is not entirely impossible (see the Magic recipe to win at OKC) but it is very unlikely if the Nets don’t fix their main weakness.

And yes, 1-2 game rest for Lin is good for the Nets season

  • Steppen03

It’s OKC but the Nets will bounce back and grab tonight’s game. When JL7 comes back there’s “no” game that they cannot win – they will compete even with the toughest teams.

  • Steppen03

This Nets team can win on any given night against any team (except GS, Clippers, and Spurs). Don’t count them out.

  • pistolpete

Not without Lin. This team would not win more than 25 games if they didn’t have Lin and that’s being generous. They have no valid backup pg.

  • takeme2cruz

There is, they just dont throw it out.

  • sport

Come on we want Jlin back already 🙁 at least tell us he’s back Sunday.

Interesting story on how Parsons-Cuban friendship can be a drawback professionally in Dallas.

  • YellowClaw

That’s so frustrating they are holding Lin back tbh

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

I think they are being overly cautious…Some may agree with this, but my sense is probably that Lin could play but they want to add an additional week or two because they believe in extra rest.

So if an injury takes about 2 week to heal, they will add 2 extra week into it just to show extreme cautiousness…Whether these types of method have work is anyone guess.

  • Dorothy

According to this article, Parsons was extremely influential to Cuban personnel decision and Cuban did not want Lin last year. Make one wonders what kind of fair weather friend Parsons is to Lin. Parsons knows how good Lin is. This also shows Parsons put himself over team interest. I do not like Cuban, but I think he made the right decision ditched Parsons. He should never have Parsons back to Marv. no matter in what kind of role. Parsons is not a trustworthy person. Cuban is smart trusting Nowitzki over Parsons.

  • sws94

The opposite of Charlotte. He would have played days ago if he was with the Hornets.

  • takeme2cruz

The way he signed Parsons away from Morey was a disgrace and classless. Cuban deserves every bit of it. Now you know why Lin has never said any good about his former teamate, Chandler Parson.

  • aggressiveplayer

Whoa Kilpatrick going back to SG role?

  • Click Click

Probably best to be 6th man. Kilpatrick just wasn’t comfortable with playing point.

  • aggressiveplayer

That’s great new though. For Kilpatrick and for the Nets in general.

  • Epie

Empty stadium.. didn’t know they start the game with a prayer! nice!

  • AL

    Who? Nets?

  • JLin fan from Australia

This is away game. So it’s Thunder:-)

When I watched Nets vs Suns, the stadium also looked pretty empty. Not sure even 50% filled.

  • Epie

Thunder, looks like they start their game with a prayer.

  • AL

you mean the players or the organisation? Know OKC has lots Christian culture

  • Epie

word of prayer with the whole crowd.

  • HVJoy

    Go Nets!
Is “assistant coach” Lin the one with red pants on the bench?

  • Epie

    Lopez already with two 3pts

  • psalm234

Nets has a good start, hitting a perfect 3-3 from 3s
Lopez got 2 and RHJ had 1

    13-14

  • psalm234

he’s really getting comfortable with his 3pt shooting

no way Nets will trade him if he keeps making them

  • HVJoy

    Lopez 4-5 for 3s!

  • aggressiveplayer

Insane. Really glad Atkinson encouraged him to shoot the 3.

  • casual bb fan

If Kevin Love is as good as Lopez, Lebron will break MJ record of 6Championship. Haha Cheers

  • ty

impressed with the ball movement… so much faster over just 12 games

  • CJSHYY

Hope they beat OKC. Hate RW. lol!

  • Click Click

Nets off to another amazing start. Problem will be 3rd quarter as usual and playing defense.

  • HVJoy

Wow. Nets leads 40-34 end of 1Q.
    Indeed, great ball movement!

  • CJSHYY

I really hope they can fix the 3Q problem.

  • aggressiveplayer

allowing 34 points in the first quarter not good, but our offense is making up for it.

  • ty

maybe just start the 3rd with the bench… see what happens.. couldn’t be any worse

  • sport

Wow Nets beating OKC without Lin! Awesome!

  • CJSHYY

W Lin? Lin is for AS coach….

  • HVJoy

Get a W for the last road game in this trip!

  • sport

lol You caught my typo before I could fix it. Well with Lin too yes as the temporary AS coach.

  • sport

Lebron can’t break MJ’s record. MJ had 2 3 peats for his 5 Championship. Lebron can never compare.

  • aggressiveplayer

    I LOVE THE NETS

  • HVJoy

I love how competitive, spirited and team-oriented the players are.

  • aggressiveplayer

Same, I am extremely happy to be rooting for a team like this!

  • sport

1st time ever for Lin’s team. Nets treat Lin well so we’re all glad to see the team succeed even when he’s out.

  • sport

RHJ comes in and Lead goes down?

  • HVJoy

I thought it was the RW scoring…

  • sport

    I think it’s both.

  • HVJoy

He did miss some easy shots late 2Q

  • gandychan

I don’t think they have a chance with westbrook’s energy. Lopez’s 3s were fools gold. It’s not gonna last. They will come out flat for the 3rd quarter again

  • HVJoy

I hope they surprise us pleasantly with a strong 3Q performance

  • Singapore BB Fan

    negativity kills …

  • Guest

Defense has become a lost art in the first half. Nets has to start playing some defense to give themselves a chance to win.

  • aggressiveplayer

Still need to work on our defense. Playing good defense takes time but man.. this is going to be a rough season if we don’t pick it up soon.

  • cdblue10

We need 1 more player like Ariza

  • HVJoy

Agree. But, perhaps there is no defending RW’s scoring?

  • aggressiveplayer

Yea I think it’s hard to defense WB but if you limit the other guys’ scoring we’ll be okay.

  • Win

Just made it for the 2nd half. Only down 3, not bad, go Nets!!!

  • Epie

    Foye.. come on, focus.

  • Win

Lol. RHJ always look out of control….

  • aggressiveplayer

    I don’t like Foye.

  • Epie

    How about a timeout..

  • Epie

I don’t like to blame one player, but Foye’s 2 TOs gave the momentum.

  • sport

I cringe whenever he’s subbed in feel the lead will be lost once he’s in or opponent’s lead will increase. Seems to happen every time he’s in. He’s not effective or both offense or defense.

  • aggressiveplayer

Yea I don’t like to blame a single player, but Foye has contributed nothing positively this game. Really bad turnovers, Really bad passes. Really bad shots.

  • HVJoy

done… after a 6-0 run by the opponent

    It’s the 3Q problem, again?!

  • Win

I think his D is ok, it just that his offensive game and jumper need a lot of improvement.

  • xeroid

He is the major problem, hopefully when Lin returns he’ll be sidelined to third string player that he is.

  • Epie

    TY Bojan..jeez

  • aggressiveplayer

Hopefully. I’d rather have Whitehead/Yogi get time to improve.

  • sport

More like his offense is non existence. When was the last time he made a FG and I’m not talking about fouls. I’d rather see Harris and Kilpatrick getting more minutes then him.

  • sport

Same here I like Yogi and Whitehead better. Foye is just too short.

  • sws94

Lin PG, Yogi backup PG. Foye isn’t a PG, Skil can handle it on a limited basis.

  • sws94

    Oh yeah, Whitehead behind Yogi.

  • BobbyH

The ball stops at RHJ’s hands. Not good.

  • Win

That was a foul on Whitehead!!! These Refs again. Smh.

  • Win

Yay! Finally we get the 50/50 call.

  • HVJoy

Whitehead is doing well this game – 4 pts, 4 asts in 11 min. PT

  • CJSHYY

    Bad 3Q again… smh!

  • HVJoy

and he is shooting 2-12 tonight

  • those last two minutes really hurt.

  • HVJoy

Someone called it Nets’ 3Q curse. 🙁

  • sport

Why isn’t Harris and Kilpatrick on the floor?

  • Epie

    Bad 2Q too

  • sport

Finally Yogi and Kilpatrick are both in!!

  • sport

Nets lose during 3rd to 4th because he’s always resting his starters or important players including Lopez, Kilpatrick, Yogi, and Harris! Now they’re all in and hopefully to close the entire 4th quarter.

  • sport

Wow Anthony Bennett looking more in shape compared to beginning of preseason.

  • sport

Wow Anthony Bennett made a shot inside. He’s improving with the minutes given. Guess it was a no risk sign for Nets to develop him and give him a chance. Hopefully he will improve to the level close to the other younger guys.

  • aggressiveplayer

    Spin move by Bennett!

  • sport

LOL I was very surprised by that. I think he’s learning a lot about post moves from Brook Lopez!

  • sport

Holy smokes 1st double figures for Bennett! He knocked down a 3!

  • Win

    Wow Bennett!

  • aggressiveplayer

Sigh.. I don’t know if we’re going to come back from this

  • sport

I know right! 😀 Utterly surprised, nice to have teammates and a team empowering their players and developing them. It causes losses but in the long run they will become a great team with all players being contributors.

  • Win

    I don’t think so tbh.

  • Win

    Why sit Lopez?

  • Win

    Bennett!!!

  • Win

Lol. Look like Booker started it.

  • sport

Why doesn’t Lopez finish the entire 4th quarter? What is Atkinson thinking benching him at crucial times?

  • Win

I was asking the same thing.

  • CJSHYY

Again. Developing young if he thinks he can’t win the game. smh!

  • sport

They were down only 10 points!

  • BobbyH

Let Lopez take a breather and see how game develops.

  • Epie

He already played 28 min. No one’s allowed to hit 30 min.

  • CJSHYY

    This coach … smh!

  • sport

Breather down 10 during 4th is giving up and losing!

  • Win

If he is going to arrange player’s minute like this the entire season, I am not sure what to say……

  • Epie

    Equal min for all

  • sport

Chris Mccullough needs to be a starter or get more minutes! He’s the 1st player I see make an olley-opp as a Nets!

  • Steppen03

    Good efforts, Nets!
We need Mr. 4th Quarter to come back asap.

  • Epie

Even if he comes back, not sure if he will be used during those crucial times.

  • BobbyH

And we need a Mr. 3Q to stop the bleeding.

  • sport

Exactly why is Lopez benched when they could still win it by cutting down the 10 point lead? Also Mccullough, and Harris didn’t get enough minutes! I’d rather see them than Foye and RHJ! Even Anthony Bennett is becoming more useful than RHJ and Foye!

  • sport

Benching your franchise player during 4th quarter is dumb when they could still win it!

  • aggressiveplayer

Sigh.. I wish I was as positive as you. I’m depressed now.

  • sport

I still think Atkinson’s limitation on minutes, not having a consistent lineup, and not playing effective players enough is the reason why these winnable games are loss.

  • zxcvb

Looks like the “Patrick Ewing Effect” is over. Lin needs to come back ASAP or the Nets could lose the next 6-7 games.

  • sport

OMG agree I’d rather see Skil and Harris as PG before seeing Foye.

  • Epie

I remember back in Dec-Jan stretch, Hornets went 5W – 15Lish run and was still able to come back. Hopefully when Lin comes back things get little better.

  • sport

Not with the continued inconsistent lineups, and strict minute restrictions.

  • aggressiveplayer

I think Lopez is slowly being ramped up. Should play more later on in the season.

  • CJSHYY

I totally agree w you. I believe if they didn’t sign Lin. Nets would loss almost every game so far. smh! KA just too stubborn & always had developing young in mind. smh!

  • cdblue10

This is competition,it doesn’t matter if the team played well as a team but the bottom line is they still need to win games.

  • YESYESYES

I feel like Nets’ playoff chance is slipping away if Lin cannot come back in a week or two, although I only hope Lin back with 100% healthy

  • CJSHYY

I think he will be back around 2 1/2 week…. so it’s very likely next week.

  • sport

Not about Lin but about the players who should be getting minutes aren’t on the floor. I can take the minute restrctions for Lopez but he needs to close out 4th quarter especially when it was only a 10 pt deficit. Guys like Harris, Kilpatrick , McCullough, and Yogi should be gives minutes and even starting. Both RHJ and Foye should not be starters with or without Lin!

  • CJSHYY
  • YESYESYES

They do not have true pg to feed Brook. Atkinson is on full development mode when Lin is out.

  • sport

Lin wasn’t even feeding Brook much when he was playing. Brook can certainly do his post ups and mid range and 3s. I lost count how frequently Brook was benched this game. At least give him long stretches of minutes and play him for the entire 4th quarter.

  • BobbyH

    “Be our oasis, Jeremy, please.”

  • norah mackenzie

Taking a deep breath – basketball is just a game – and JLin has to come back when he is 100% – and if the rest of the team cannot and are unable to step up then it is their issue – I think the skills are there but either kenny is trying to lose or fooling around I have no idea.

More proof the Nets need Jeremy Lin now more than ever

“Just progressing as planned. He’s on target. I’m not going to give exact dates … but he’s progressing on schedule,’’ Atkinson said of Lin, who didn’t take part in Friday’s shootaround, but ran and shot afterward. “I’m going to listen to the performance team. We’re going to be smart about this, take a long term approach.”

  • Barry Allen

    http://www.inquisitr.com/3727213/jeremy-lin-has-nets-fortunes-on-the-rise/

Jeremy Lin has Nets’ Fortunes on the Rise

“Word is the Nets have recently signed as many as six new commercial partners with the prospect of doing business with Lin, being the biggest common denominator in the high-stakes negotiating.

Far and away, Lin’s jersey ranks as the team’s biggest seller, and is likewise thought to remain among the NBA’s most popular after it finished second across the entire league in sales in 2015.

All Lin’s early heavy lifting has come with him essentially having just one good leg to stand on, as he’s missed six of the team’s first 11 games with a hamstring injury.”

Not so uncoincidentally, Lin also ranks among the league’s top-tier players in social-media impact, boasting more than 2 million Twitter followers and registering an obscene number of Facebook likes. As a team, the Nets saw their Twitter engagement jump by more than 150 percent, compared to the same point last year, and their Facebook profile engagement is up by 86 percent.”

“In the six games that he’s played, Lin ranked third on the team in scoring (15 ppg), and led in assists (6.2), but numbers alone can’t account for what he’s meant to the equation.”

““It’s not always easy to know what is a good timeline,” Lin recently weighed in. “They (the team doctors) really haven’t said anything other than to keep rehabbing, and in two weeks, we’ll see how you feel and go from there.””…..

  • aggressiveplayer

Jeremy Lin must have increased the Nets revenue by twofold.. although you probably can’t accredit that all to Lin. Majority of it is though.

  • joy

With Lin’s watch, I don’t think KA will either lose on purpose or fooling around. That’s not the culture they’re building.

  • Maknusia

good…looks like they are not rushing things…as I mentioned earlier, hamstring is a nag…it has to heal properly since ham is the biggest muscle on your body…tearing takes time to fully recover.

  • hchao

    http://web.yesnetwork.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=1213018683

In this video “Nets Magazine: Inside look into the 2016-17 Nets–Kenny Atkinson gives Nets hope” @4:32, JLin talked about his tight relationships with Atkinson:

“I think for me I have gone through a lot of different things..I’ve been unexpectedly hurt by certain relationships. And so, for me I really trust Kenny, and trust isn’t something I’m great at these days.
We’d have dinner together. He always kept up with my games..he’d send me text sometimes saying ‘Hey, I watched your game last night, and this is what I think’ or whatever. And so, those things meant a lot to me and showed he genuinely cared about me. That’s the big reason why I came here at Brooklyn.”

  • Barry Allen

I guess the only problem is, if they leave Lin out too long, the Nets are definitely are not making the playoffs, and they have no draft picks either. With this team there is very little margin for error or injury.

  • Barry Allen

It’s not uncommon for a team to lose or miss the playoffs due to players out when they are injured. We already knew this team sucked without Lin.

  • Maknusia

Getting into playoffs…I dont think it was part of the season objective…looking at the roaster, I would draft it as nice to have, not good to have, or must have.

Realistically, if the team achieves 35-45 wins, they would have met their objectives…anything beyond is bonus and plans would change as season goes along…..

  • Barry Allen

I think it was always part of Lin’s and KA’s objective. Sure they knew it would be a hard one to achieve but, they have nothing else to play for. They get no draft picks, so if they are tanking there is no point. Always play to win. I feel this team with Lin has a chance of making the playoffs for sure but he needs to come back from injury soon for that to have any possibility.

  • norah mackenzie

  • KHuang

The only missteps I see Atkinson making right now are:

    1) starting the physically overmatched Booker. Bench him instead of bringing him off the bench the way multiple other teams have.

    2) playing RHJ at all, he is a terrible unathletic undersized player who should be sent to the D League. He’s not good enough to even be on the Nets roster.

    3) not giving Chris MacCullough more playing time – he has the youth and athleticism to make a defensive and rebounding impact. I’d start him.

  • KHuang

All we Lin fans can do is hope that the Nets have a good record while Lin actually plays.

At 2-3 with Lin, that’s more than acceptable thus far!

  • Bulldog

I agree with you on all of them, but who else can play small forward besides RHJ?

  • HVJoy

    Some more “nostalgia”…
Look at Lin in the first Win for the regular season on 10/28…
It feels as if it’s been a long long time. 🙁

  • YellowClaw

    Thats annoying
they are not trying to win at all

  • spiderman

Despite the injury I too agree that they have a shot. Lin is driven to win.
But they are in obvious need of someones who’s a defending/ rebounding menace (Hansbrough comes to mind).

  • sport

Thanks I think it’s obvious that RHJ needs to go to D league, he should not be starting or on the bench at all. Chris McCullough the 1st round draft pick needs to start. He’s the most athletic and promising starter out of the young guys. And the only one who can do an Olley-Opp! Lin can play PnR and throw many lobs to him!

  • sport

No but KA isn’t playing the right players and is too strict with his minutes. We’ve said since preseason that RHJ is horrible can’t shoot, make plays, or defend that well when on the floor. Meanwhile guys like Harris and Kilpatrick especially Harris aren’t getting enough minutes and Chris McCullough needs to start!

  • spiderman

    Interesting story on McCullough
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iom6lzlQi6A

They can always play Bojan at the small forward position. According to google and wiki he plays the SG and SF positions.

  • Vincent

i have a feeling when lin is done playing he will be an nba coach

  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

man, I don’t get some of you Lin fan who are looking at this through the long term and forgetting Lin is 28 and will be 29 next year.

If Lin is not healthy enough to play, they should not play him, but if he’s clearly ready, I would not like them to keep him on the shelves simply because they don’t think it’s important to make the playoff this year thus forcing him to sit for longer than require.

Now, we really don’t know exactly whether Lin is truly ready and they wan to be overly cautious just because they don’t care about wins, but I’m pretty sure Lin does and knows he’s not a young guy like LeVert or Whitehead who may not care about winning right away.

  • spiderman
  • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Agree with you Barry..I don’t like the thought that Lin should take his time because it’s not important to win this year…I’m sure Lin probably is not a board with that thinking since he’s not a young man and doesn’t have time to wait 2-3 years when Nets COULD be good.

Now again, we really do not know whether Lin is fully healthy or not, but I’m a bit concern that the Nets may be overly cautious and it could be that they also view this year as a throw away thus no need to bring Lin back anytime soon.

I disagree with you on McCollough because he’s soft and should bulk up..He would be bullied every night if he were given more minutes.

Maybe I’d try McCollough at small forward and see whether he could guard smaller guys..probably not but playing him at PF would get him bullied on a nightly basis.

lol .. good thing JLin is no longer in the Rockets. His ears are spared

Take time to heal that hamstring injury

  • Lin Dunn

In some ways I wish Jlin is not as honest. Praising Nets and KA like may cause them take him for granted.

Nash won his first MVP at 30/31 (?). Us Lin fans will let him decide when he is healthy enough.

The article on Atkinson where he was said to have kept a piece of paper from Lin with plays on it, really shows what a great coach Atkinson is. Very few coaches or persons in power would ever take a sheet of advise from a nobody without taking offence to it. It takes really high character to be so unaffected by personal status as to accept a nobody’s advise on how he should do his job. This IMO, is THE QUALITIES OF A PERFECT coach.

There are more successful coaches with more accolades that has less to do with talent than mere circumstance. Atkinson is the type of coach that is willing to listen and respect a player’s opinion. It’s telling that he recognized Lin’s play making decisions by keeping that piece of paper. To be a great coach, you’d want to make them better than yourself. It is and should be a symbiotic relationship of give and take that make you both better in the end.

WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT? In sports, every generation brings fresh ideas that is predestined to improve upon the last, that’s just how progress works. To be a relevant coach, you must adapt to changes to the game; and more often than not, it’s new players that forces these changes. Perfect example is Stef Curry. The next generation of players will all be expected to shoot 3s, just as Lopez is doing. You need to have an open mind to recognize talent and new possibilities.

We’ve experienced the total opposite of this positive approach with Lin, You needn’t look further than the terrible coaches Lin’s have had to play under. They all didn’t listen or look beyond what they wanted to see and what they decided was the constraints they needed to put Lin under to fit their system. Each and everyone tried their best to crush Lin’s growth by not allowing him to make mistakes while other players preordained to be stars are given card blanche. No one talks about Harden and his TOs. He is allowed to grow while Lin is told never to take risks. How many times did we see Clifford scream at Lin for taking a shot when all he wanted was for Lin to pass the ball to the preordained one. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU BUILD A TEAM!

When Lin took a shot, most of the time it was because it was the right end to a sequence that happens be in his hands. WHAT Atkinson is teaching is this type of system where ball moment along with player moment displaces the defence to a point where a player is so wide open that he has no choice but take the shot. I’ve seen the Spurs do it to the Raptors in a blowout when the bench, the Spurs bench, ran a motion offence that was so fast and dizzying that the Raptors players just gave up chasing the ball and allowed an easy corner 3 to be taken.

What’s incredible is the sheer strength of will, self belief and faith that Lin possesses. Not many would have been able to withstand the constant negativity he’s had to endure. This article really showed how 2 high character guys can succeed despite how the unwritten rules of the game are set up against them. We should all be thankful that Lin has finally found someone who truly respects him and willing to invest all his own abilities into him.

One thing I’d just like to correct is I think Lin actually was just drawing out the plays he was comfortable with, not necessarily giving Atkinson advice on what plays he should run. Still, to keep that piece of paper for so many years is impressive.

Or like me he never cleans out his desk 😛

So Lin will miss 9-10 games already this season? Last season I think he only missed 4 or 5. Yes, he should have missed maybe 10. Well, just hoping he can play most games for the rest of the season. He’ll be rusty and not as explosive when he gets back, it’ll take a few games to get back in full NBA playing shape.

Developing players at the cost of losing more games.

The way I look at the Nets games is how many players they played and the minutes they played each game.
if they want a solid bench, the team needs to give them minutes to develop. The best players should be the starting five when healthy. The coach is not overplaying them. The rest are getting valuable play time. We can be rest assured the team is going to get much better a few months from now. Their key players will more than likely be healthy. Their bench will have more confident with their play time.

At the end of the season while many teams are plagued by injuries, this team will distinguish itself. I’m confident they are going to have a run for much better record, or even a winning streak.

MKG is 6’7″ but is averaging 7 rebounds a game. Westbrook is 6’3″ but he’s a triple double machine. That means there’s no excuse for why players like RHJ, Bojan, Harris can’t rebound some more, especially when Lopez/Hamilton is shooting a 3. I think these guys are the key players to the rebounding game.

Kilpatrick already rebounds a pretty good amount for his height. Scola is okay at rebounding.. and I’m not going to expect much from Foye.

Kenny Atkinson on the Nets’ defense — “I just think on the road sometimes with a new group, there’s slippage. Definitely on this road trip there was some slippage. We’ve got to get back together. We’ve got to see if we can get some stops when we get home.”

Good confident leaders are able to give honest praise

Agreed. Also, playing the heavy movement type of system we’re currently playing, that rest is much needed. It’s incredibly tiring.

  • JLin fan from Australia

As I went to see two games on 28 Oct (vs Pacers) and 12 Nov (vs Suns), I witnessed the genuine and unique relationship between JLin and KA. JLin basically could do a lot more than just a starting point in this team, he was even allowed to “coach” his teammates.

As I met up with number of JLin fans who went to many JLin games with different teams plus other team games in my US trip (just got back this morning), they confirmed to my observations that it was not a norm for any player even star/franchise player could talk to their coach about their play in games and/or called a player (SKil) back to the sideline (a midcourt) and told him what to do when he was at the bench because of injury.

I like what I witnessed. I have no issue of how this team is being run. We fans know little what is going on but what I see, this is the best

Lin is not the one making the decision on when he plays…Just like Brook Lopez doesn’t decide whether he gets a rest or not.

Marks is the one who decide when Lin plays and he strongly believe in long rest and extreme cautiousness on injuries
