G11 CHA @NYK Game Thread

Linsanity is back in NY where it all started!
JLin came off the bench for the Knicks vs the NJ NETS to give a spark.
This time JLin will come off the bench as a Hor-NETS to give another spark.
Will history repeat itself? Will JLin find the comfort of playing all out like he did in the MSG?

Last game, JLin started well to score aggressively with 5 quick points last game & pushed the run in the 1st half but then struggled with shooting.
It’s great that Clifford reinserted him back in with 2:41 left in Q4 where he had a nifty around-the-back pass to Jefferson and superb defense on McCollum not alowing him to score.
But still the issue of playing 9 min in the 1st half. It’s hard to play relax when you are in limited min and will get pulled when you don’t score well.
Hopefully JLin can play within himself and overcome this issue.

Let’s hope/pray/wish JLin continues to regain his shooting touch (esp. 3pt shooting) back, perform shutdown defense and be the most lethal scorer by repeatedly going to the FT line.

Let’s go, JLin! Be your aggressive self & just play your game on matter what like you did vs NJ Nets in 2012!

    • ICYMI there’s a nice Reddit interchange between a Lin fan making reasonable plea to give Lin 20-25 min for productive results and Hornets fan reasonable urging to be patient because of the situation with established incumbent PG & still early in the season

To Hornet Fans from a Lin Fan…an Apology and an Explanation(self.CharlotteHornets) by Stinger79

Full disclaimer, I’m a Lin fan. I’m the type of fan Hornets fans dislike. I have a great deal of sympathy for that point of view. Who wants temporary fans? It’s a terrible thing.

So…my FULL apologies to true Hornets fans. I am not kidding. People like me who are focused on Lin are tough to take. But I want the Hornets to win, too. Badly. It is just that I think the Hornets could be 8-2 instead of 5-5 if Lin was playing more. The upside is there.

I think yall just need to be a little patient. Lin came to a team that already has their franchise PG who has a long leash (and not just bc of the contract, but bc of his history with the team). I think this is exactly what Lin was expecting when he signed up. It is still very early on in the season and there is plenty of time for him to prove himself with the Hornets. Honestly, i think he has already proven that we got a steal with the contract. I would love if we could keep him longer too, starting or not. I’m rooting for him to do well just like the rest of our players, but I’m also trusting our coach to make the decisions bc he is a coach and I am not. I understand why yall are frustrated though. just bear with us

it will stick all day long

    • CJSHYY

Cliff said after 20 (he changed to 30 after vs Bulls game 2) he will make the final lineup..? I really want to know since Cliff’s so high on the starters why needs to change it after 20 or 30 games?

    • kjch

Wow, that poster was a Knicks fan from 1964-2012!

    • it’s quite normal to use 20-25 games to evaluate the effectiveness of lineup for 1st & 2nd unit, starting + closing

for example, PJ might provide decent defense but he’s a non-scoring threat so defenders give up all spacing to shoot but clog the lanes for Batum & Walker to make plays.

    • I know.. that poor guy has suffered enough

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

Haha. It’s part of the nursery rhyme. “First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest.”

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

That is a reasonable post from a Lin fan and a reasonable reply from a Hornets fan.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Trusting the coach was before the season started, now is questionable of his motives until some change happen. Today a shooting guard is out, why not start Lamb or even Lin? Will see how his order of off the bench be today.

    • sws94

I think the worse problem is Hawes. The first unit isn’t hurt by PJ unless he’s trying to shoot, but he makes a few baskets. Hawes is too much a part of the 2nd unit and makes so many bad decisions and clogs up space. I don’t know why Clifford likes Hawes.

As far as Lin goes, I think he’s leader of the 2nd unit and he goes as they go. The other element is how he plays with the first unit guys like Kemba and Al when he’s in. I think he plays well with Al, not that great with Kemba. But I don’t know what Clifford’s overall priorities are in dolling out who plays with who and I think it is more pairing of guys on the court rather than him looking at individual guys and giving them minutes beyond Batum, Al and Kemba when it comes to total minutes.

    • sws94

I’ve almost been a fan for that long. I think around 1968 I started to watch the Knicks with DeBusshere, Bradley, Clyde and Reed.

    • In the survey, I added the story on how I learned to know JLin was an NBA material in 2009 from reading an excellent ESPN article. If you haven’t read it, you’d want to 🙂

In 2009, ESPN featured excellent “Immigrant Dream Plays Out Through Son” story on JLin’s Harvard accomplishment.

Learning that he dominated scoreboard (pts/rebs/asts/stls), I know he’s quite an athletic baller. And he raised his game vs Div 1 teams such as Kemba’s UConn & BC in multiple games scoring 55pts, 64% FG, 80%FT so he can compete with the best of them.. And that’s clutchness. The only question was will he get a fair chance as an Asian-American player who doesn’t look the part?

The funny thing is we are still asking the same question after his 6 years in the NBA.

    • DX

      Haha, too much imagination.

    • sws94

Lakers fans weren’t terrible. Rockets just had people like Tinman who still talks trash about Lin in that forum. The worse was Hardisty. He was the grand ringleader for anti-Lin sentiment on Clutchfans and did not try to moderate it fairly. The Houston press was bad, Clyde Drexler was a disgrace as an announcer. He was very ignorant.

    • Rick Johnson
    • sws94

Because Lin and Lamb are the heart of the bench unit.

    • CJSHYY

Lin wants to be a PG.

    • DX

      Guess who will start? Jeremy

    • sws94

If Lamb doesn’t play then Daniels has to play as a spot of 3 shooter. Big loss if Lamb can’t go tonight.

    • sws94

MW is starting. It is Kemba, Batum, MW, Zeller and Big Al

    • Lin would be on the corner watching Batum & Kemba running around; that’s not good.

I want to see Lin be the PG when he comes in. Batum and Roberts can initiate plays but let JLin do the most playmaking to impact the game

    • takemeback2reaganyears

They still can play together when Kemba rest.

    • sws94

Lil’ weird there Nathan. I think Big Al got a good word from MJ, he scored a bunch of points.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Exactly, he’s been misused and time limit.

    • DX

So Zeller plays F, Batum plays SG.

    • sws94

As psalm234 said, Lin wouldn’t do much as starter. Lin leads the 2nd unit. Lin and Lamb are two of the most productive Hornets when playing together.

The rotation will be zeller first, then Hawes or Lamb and Lin around 2 minutes if Cliff keeps the same pattern. Lin will play 6 to 8 minutes the first half and in the 2nd half come in late in the 3rd and if he’s impacting the game positively, for the rest of the game.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! I think Daniels will replace Lamb if he can’t play.

    • JLin would still anchor the 2nd unit.

The question is: will he be a ball-dominating SG like Harden if Lamb is out?
Whether Lamb is in or out, he just needs to play like he did in Game 8 vs the Knicks.
      A Ball-dominant guard

    • sws94

      Yes.

    • sws94

Dominant, facilitating, taking charge. He played great in game 8. Linsanity level.

    • CJSHYY

      Don’t think so. It’s Zeller.

    • DX

Seems OK, only the D for guards are weak.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

You overrated how important Cliff thinks of the second unit with Lamb and Lin. They’re not especially Lin. Just check his minutes and see how he values Lin as a player.

    • CJSHYY

I wish but it will not happen.

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

I think so too. because “Jeremy is needed to lead the 2nd unit”

    • sws94

I think MW on Anthony, Zeller on Porzingis. Those are the two offensive guys that Clifford is worried about. Late in the game Lin will guard Calderon most likely.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Done

    • sws94

And late in the game MW and Batum will on Anthony.

    • DX

Maybe, he can help the D.

    • Rick Johnson

With no Lamb Lin has to be the #1 scoring option on the bench. Hope his shot is falling and he doesn’t go in to deferral mode. The other players on the bench don’t have the offensive punch he has to score.

    • sws94

Roberts is Lin’s backup and Lin is Kemba. I don’t see Roberts leading it if Kemba is playing is normal minutes. Roberts comes in to tune up in blowouts and plays 1 because he can’t really play the 2.

    • sws94

He at least can shoot 3s well. He can’t rebound and drive as well as Lamb. But he provides spacing.

    • sws94

We’re just covering the same ground. I’m going to go to the game, enjoy it, hope Lin is on and not get into Lin’s minutes. It is what it is for the time being and hopefully Lin will make the most out of his time on court.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Injury is starting to take toll on this team.

    • sws94

I have a feeling Lamb may be a game-time decision. Lin can score at the foul line too, but he is on the away team and they don’t always get the whistle.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Enjoy the moment. Pls post lots of photos of Lin fans in NY.

    • sws94

Key guys are fine. It’s usually PJ out and Lamb has had a few games being injured. I think Zeller couldn’t go one game. Everything else is just the usual strains, sprains, that come. Key guys, Al, Kemba, Batum, Lin all are good.

    • Makes me glad JLin no longer plays dangerous style crashing against big men but lower to the ground to draw fouls.

The strong will survive; JLin is doing a pretty good job at it.
Need to keep sending good prayer & wishes for health

    • sws94

I probably won’t post pics. I’m very high up, good court view but high up.

    • DX

Cliff confirmed the starters changing, Kemba, Batum, MW, Zeller, Al

      No panic mode but still….

    • takemeback2reaganyears

hope it’s because Lamb is game time decision. Lin should start but I understand the politic, so Lamb should…SG to SG.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Still, live experience is always better.

    • kjch

Ahh that explains why you seem to be very knowledgable about the game.

    • that’s why I like most Hornets media & fans
They’ve been quite fair and appreciate of what JLin brought, especially with $2M contract.
They know JLin will help them to win big

    • NONONO

I feel like more and more our Lin fans are going to pay more attention to Cliff instead of Lin. For what he SAYS about Lin, he is the best coach. From either the number mins he has given to Lin or the role he has let Lin play, he is the WORST. He might trust Lin, but he has not done much good for Lin at all.

    • DX

It seems Lin will stay with 2nd unit this season.

    • CJSHYY

Who will replace Zeller in 2nd unit?

    • NONONO

I hope it will be Batum. Do not let Batum play PG for 2nd unit,

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

There really is no excuse or explanation for playing Lin 6 minutes in one quarter like Cliff did a few games back.

    • sws94

I still think him counting on Lin to finish games allowed Lin the confidence to make key plays like he did in the Portland game with the behind-the-back pass to Al after he drew in 3 defenders. He is not the worse because neither Scott nor McHale gave there trust in Lin like that and only would play him when he was hot or that had no other choice. And Cliff has done that after Lin hasn’t played well. There’s also quality of minutes. Lin is running the 2nd team although not as long as I would like.

I disagree. I still look at Clifford as trying to figure things out and the only guys that get 30 plus minutes on a regular basis are Kemba and Batum. The other guys fluctuate. Even Al. I don’t agree with the minutes Lin is getting, but I think he is a way better coach than he’s had in a long time and sees Lin as a good defensive guard against some matchups.

    • NONONO

Actually it was 6 mins in HALF.

Jeremy Lin finds a home after Carmelo friction, Warriors flirt

      http://nypost.com/2015/11/17/jeremy-lin-finds-a-home-after-carmelo-friction-warriors-flirting/

A new-and-improved Lin, averaging 11.5 points, is back at the Garden on Tuesday as the Hornets’ sixth man, and surely some old Knicks Lin jerseys will be seen in the crowd.Modal TriggerLin and Carmelo Anthony during the Nov. 11 Hornets-Knicks game in Charlotte.Photo: Getty Images

Does Lin feel Anthony did not respect his game?

“I don’t know, I can’t speak on behalf of him,” the former Harvard star said at Charlotte’s morning shootaround Tuesday at the New York Athletic Club. “He’s been great, cordial and nice to me every time I’ve come in contact with him. I don’t feel there’s any issues. That’s probably a question directed at him.’’

Lin said he had a chance to rejoin his hometown Warriors, but he wanted a bigger role.
“I entertained it,’’ Lin said. “I just felt like they had something great going there, and if I went there, it would be a very limited role. I felt like, ‘I’m 27 now.’ I want to find where I can be as a big a part of a successful team as I can.’’

    • sws94

psalm, we need a Cliff’s minutes for Lin thread imo.

    • sws94

That’s a Derek Jeter like response.

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

      Sorry, that’s what I meant

    • CJSHYY

I really don’t think Melo is that bad compare to Harden & Kobe…

    • sws94

It helps his contract is so low. To be fair, his contract was $8 for the other teams, $15 for the Lakers in the one year where he was there so expectations were higher. If Lin plays for less than he’s worth, he’s considered a huge bargain. If he gets more, he may be considered not living up to his contract.

    • sws94

      Thanks.

    • sws94

Harden likes Lin. Harden is just unable to play with PGs. Off the court, he’s a party guy that likes strippers, not the same kind of guy than Lin. Kobe is just intense and weird to everyone. Kobe probably likes Lin.

    • Linzen

      Done.
But, I would rather he plays MORE on a WINNING team. 🙂

    • Sundown

Melo had to make the biggest cognitive leap: here was a practice squad player who was making magazine covers. Reasonable Melo had some doubts. Less patience with any commenting after, say, the first season at Rockets. Clearly he had established himself as at least a solid player by then.

    • Sundown

Lamb stays with Lin? That’s good, looking forward to more highlight plays.

    • NONONO

Putting Lin for 6 mins to make scores from +4 to +21, rained the 2nd units by using Brain as PG to mess up the best first half game (drop from +25 to +6 points?). All blame would be on Lin if they lost the game.

    • sws94

      done.

    • Sundown

Long season. Odds are Kemba or Batum are out for a while. It will be interesting to see what happens if Lin does well with a stretch of starts. All hypothetical now of course.

    • blubell

LOL. That pretty much sums it up.

    • NONONO

Kobe likes Lin? He wants to kill Lin!

    • Dan Cohen

everyone likes lin until lin’s play start threatening their role. =P

    • grover chang

I love Lin. My biggest complaint is if he plays passive vs aggressive. When he struggles with his shot or turns the ball over, I don’t feel too bad if he is competing hard.

I have a new complaint. I hope he isn’t sulking about not being a bigger part of this team. He plays badly when he is depressed. Lin doesn’t seem happy.

Understandable if expectations have not been met. Disappointment is natural but if you give testimonial about Gods supernatural spirit in your life every off season then do not sulk.

Surrender as he tweeted before, accept the role, be the best supporting role player you could be if that is the task God has given you.

    • adele

So Lin wants a bigger role. Sad because he wasn’t able to get it in this team. Should have been a back up of Steph instead of Kemba. Lin thought he will be given a significant role and playing time. Such a disappointment.

    • Dan Cohen

haah omg you ng is so crzy… stop reading too much into it.. it make make mj start to ignore lin man.

    • sws94

Kemba credited the bench for the victory in the last Knick game in his shootaround comments. Batum said the team put him in a position to do what he’s doing. In Portland it was a different team, had stars doing more.

    • sws94

I don’t think he’s unhappy or sulking. I think he wants to have his shots fall and contribute more. If he comes out and plays well today against the Knicks, he’ll look better.

    • adele

Lin is still human just like anyone here. We felt the hurt and disappointments. He is not a robot. And God will understand if we sulk but still be a good person with a good heart.

    • Linzen

Totally agree with the Harden part. They are both kids… with Harden like to party in different ways.
Kobe though… didn’t Lin say there were a lot of issues in the locker room last year? I doubt he likes Lin. 🙂

    • sws94

He loved Fisher and was always fighting with him. He was disappointed that Lin who could play so aggressively on the floor didn’t want to fight him like Fisher did.

    • CJSHYY

I agree… when Lin is not happy w the system, he played passive…. you just can tell… smh! I hate that since Rox… I think bc he’s so stubborn & just wants his team ball so badly… If not for this.. his NBA will go much much smooth than he had now.

    • CJSHYY

They both tell the truth. LOL!

    • Dan Cohen

      donieo

    • takemeback2reaganyears

It’s hard to avoid roller coaster feeling especially you’re human. Words of encouragement is easy said than done. Lin has done an excellent job to endure all that craps, mistreatment, lies, stereotypes etc…something others would have given up long ago. He’s doing very well in my opinion. Had he gotten what he’s promised to, the sky is the limit.

    • Dan Cohen

      Linsanity 3.0

    • Sundown

      Done

    • CJSHYY

In China, he said there are 2 teams w starting role for him (I think it’s Rox & Lakers at that time) but he wants the real starter role….So I am not worry about next summer bc teams do want him.

    • NONONO

      # 7. If I had to choose, I would rather Jeremy Lin:
      1. Play more minutes on a losing team
      2. Play less minutes on a winning team
Here is what I fill in the last bucket —
#7 question is unfair to Lin fans. If you add one more option like “not start games, but play the way he likes (as PG) “.
I bet, 90% Lin fans would choose it because it is what Lin can do the best for the team to win!

    • sws94

I doubt the blame would be on Lin had they lost the game. Cliff pulled Lin too early in the first half, I agree. For some reason, Lin didn’t have it in the 2nd half. But he came back in and was huge in the closing minutes: fouled out Ed (who had made a bunch of buckets and is a shot blocker), played great defense on McCullem, almost had a breakaway layup but foul was called, made that drive into 3 defenders finding big Al for the easy layup. That made Portland call a timeout and essentially sealed the win.

Sometimes, you can do a lot in a small amount of minutes. Look at Chalmers last night. I don’t think he played 25 minutes yet I think he scored 27 and ran the offense great and played good defense. I think Lin has a bigger impact on Chalmers usually so I concentrate on what Lin can do given what he gets.

I do want more minutes but to me, it’s the same old thing every day and it gets, sorry to say, whiny. He still is used in a way that he can make a difference. And he has a lot in this season.

    • heart

      you speak truth there.

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

Great article. It’s nice to hear Dantoni was still raving about Lin when he was coaching the Lakers and was hoping to find a way to reunite with Lin. this gives me hope for the future when Dantoni comes back to coach!

    • CJSHYY

Maybe next year bc Kobe will retired & BS sure will be fired…. Haha!

    • sws94

I’d actually like to see Lin do great with another coach. D’Antoni standing by Lin is not surprising, D’Antoni’s approach of the game fits Lin’s skills very well.

    • sws94

Kemba does get injured and part of me is wondering if Clifford is being careful with Lin because he drives and gets banged into so much that if Kemba goes down, that he has Lin to step in and not Roberts. If both Lin and Kemba can’t go it is a lot of PG play for Batum and he plays 38 minutes per game.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Great development article: Not just one team as Charlotte offer him a contract.

      http://nypost.com/2015/11/17/jeremy-lin-finds-a-home-after-carmelo-friction-warriors-flirting/

“We had a few teams on our list we thought would be good,’’ Lin said. “Funny how God works things out. Charlotte wasn’t on the top-six list, but I ended up here. That’s how it ends up for me. It always ends up the way I never imagined. Ever. I wasn’t surprised. I’ll be surprised when things are pretty smooth and clear.’’

    • CJSHYY

I think Kobe likes Lin but also worry Lin will replace him bc he’s old now. Too bad, just not the good timing for them together in Lakers.

    • Sundown

I’m cringing a bit to see what the results are.

    • Weifang

I think that’s just who he is. He is a very strong-willed and sensitive person. It makes him strong also makes him very vulnerable.

    • Whitman Lam

So maybe 3rd string point guard on a championship team wasn’t the best situation for him. Now that the Warriors are blowing every team out early, he might have gotten a lot of playing time at the end of games.

    • Weifang

18+/-4 is not good enough for now?

    • CJSHYY

He wants to start….Hornets just one year for him to practice his PG skill & plays his game. If Hornets only offer back up role for him next summer, he will not stay.

    • Sundown

Post below is waiting to be approved. Can you clear that up? I use some negative words, so maybe that’s triggering a filter. If you think the post needs editing let me know, but it appears pretty benign.

as i’ve been arguing all along in the off-season, if he was going to begin the year coming off the bench and for a measly 2 Mil, might as well do it for a contender like Warriors and Spurs. who the heck takes this kind of pay cut to back up scrubs on scrub teams when you’re at the prime of your playing career??

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Exactly, he said: Hornets weren’t even their top 6th list.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

It was the risk they took. He wanted to revise his career after two nightmare franchises.

    • your son’s voltaire

no, the way Lin have been playing and his improvements showed, he would have beaten out Livingston before the regular season have started. but on the Hornets, you got politics and coach’s pets standing in his way

    • CJSHYY

Bc Cliff promised to let him plays his game. That’s why…

    • your son’s voltaire

big 1st unit lineup gotten bigger and slower. what ever happened to fast pace offense?? Cliffraud

    • takemeback2reaganyears

5 hours of sale-talk like college recruitment.

    • your son’s voltaire

so his main deciding point was a bigger role. well, so much for that! haha

    • takemeback2reaganyears

This story is out now for a reason, just my conspiracy.

    • CJSHYY

He’s too naive… how can believe what coach & GM promised you in NBA?! It’s all about business.

    • your son’s voltaire

maybe he’s really unhappy with the way things are unfolding. not what he’d hope for. this is all on Lin. should have learned his lesson from previous years. DO NOT TRUST THE COACH, TRUST THE SYSTEM

    • Rzo Vlade

      freaking gsw

    • your son’s voltaire

exactly this. should have learned his lesson from previous years. never trust the coach, only the system

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He won’t be a starter right away with any team but with the Hornets it will be the hardest place. Air Jordan franchise PG will be there to stay.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      You read my mind.

    • CJSHYY

Cliff still prefers his ISO game like last season. smh!

    • CJSHYY

I believe if he wants to stay he will be starting PG but so far… I don’t think so.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Only if Kamba is injured but we don’t want that.

    • blubell

It is easy for us to questions his decision but let’s consider the fact that Jeremy prayed hard and consulted many people before making this difficult decision. He didn’t pick Charlotte out of the blue. We still don’t know how exactly know what the end result would be in Charlotte so I’m going to keep supporting Jeremy and his decision as long as he follows the path that God has laid out for him. Like Jeremy says, “It always ends up the way I never imagined. Ever.”

    • heart

      selling ‘snake oil’?

    • CJSHYY

NO… Hornets wants Lin & if they only offer Lin backup, w this team, Lin will not stay.

    • your son’s voltaire

i think that was his whole style but FO wants them to speed up. you can’t change an old dog as they say

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He already said his reason, he wanted a bigger role. Of course all of us here would never stop supporting Lin but I’m going to stay and be aware of Clifford’s action, NOT very trustworthy.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      ha haha

    • Alain Gervais

He is but there just too many options for him to do anything.

    • Alain Gervais

Look he can always go to a team like GSW. Too early in his career

    • your son’s voltaire

i’m supporting Lin, but he really messed up. it’s now all on him to play like a MVP to salvage this season. good thing is, it’s just one season. i hope he learns from all these years

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He needs consistent minutes first. Not 6 or 7 min and bench.

    • heart

Lin does not mention something if it’s not true. Reading between the line in this article is Lin letting the world know that he’s not happy w/the current situation. Hornets/Cho/Cliff are not keeping their end of the bargain.

    • CJSHYY

Well said but I doubt Hornets is going to give it to him.

    • blubell

Yes, whatever the outcome, he will learn and grow from it.

    • DX

I couldn’t totally agree. So far, LIn plays well even still up and down. If he plays better and stable, will get more minutes for sure. If Hornets make the playoff, that will be another big opportunity for him showcase the talent. I do have the feeling either Hornets sign Lin with big contract or other teams trade him after Dec 15.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He’s a class-act human being and he kept this to himself for long enough. I agree with you. The way they’re assigning his role and minutes is just outrage.

    • heart

Yep. It’s getting to him. Don’t know about you, but to me his subdue mannerism and facial expression after the Blazers win, signaled to me that he was not happy w/his erratic minutes and role.

    • Wandais38 .

good for him. we already know that the head coach for the warriors is not a fan of lin. and he would probably would have gotten even less playing time than now. not sure what is so great about being a part of a championship team if you don’t feel like you contributed. this is why I love Jeremy…he has more substance than the average individual.

    • CJSHYY

I agree. It’s just good for paper list only.

    • Alain Gervais

Lin can still go to GSW next year if he wants. What he just said is maybe a warning.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

After NY game, I stop watching post game interviews, it’s nothing positive i want to hear.

    • your son’s voltaire

he played really well leading up to the 2nd Bulls game and yet he got just 16 minutes in that game..

    • Great to know JLin had 6 teams on his list before Hornets came to the radar.

IMO He absolutely made the right decision to join the Hornets with a chance to carve a bigger role in 1 yr in his peak age of 27 years old.

If we are concerned with JLin’s PT of 21.7min with 11.5p/2.9a after 10 games,
how much more we’re concerned with him playing Shaun Livington’s role of 4.7p/2.2a in 20mpg as a Warrior?

Oh, wait .. maybe it’s a lot worse with Leandro Barbosa’s role of 14.6mpg with 5.6p/2a.

That’s why I respect JLin who bet on himself for a chance to be a starter again because he doesn’t forget about his goal of being an All-Star and winning a ring. Sorry, winning a ring as backup PG playing 10mpg in playoff doesn’t really count. Whether his decision pans out or not at the end of season, he absolutely did the right thing to take the risk to play his game.

    • your son’s voltaire

he’s probably trying to say that he gave up even the championship team so that he can have a bigger role with the Hornets and yet they treat him this way. sigh

    • heart

      Yep.

    • Alain Gervais

Plus if Hornets make the playoff guess who gets credit. IF GSA won a chip with Lin goes who is just a groupie lol

    • takemeback2reaganyears

How would you know? The warriors know how good he is by just watching him played one on one with Curry last season. They wanted to upgrade their backup PG. Lin still can get the same minutes or more comparing to the Hornets.

Look at what Curry doing right now? He’s averaged 35 min a night with high usage. Not safe for playoff ready.

    • I think he’ll take a chance to be a starter somewhere else before taking a backup PG role again; that would cement his reputation in the NBA as a perennial backup PG

Nets? Pelicans maybe? Or even … gasp even Lakers sans BScott & Kobe lol

    • Alain Gervais

      Exactly.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin can easily replacing Livingston. This would help Curry not to overuse for post season.

    • Peter Truong From Riverside CA

I can’t wait for trade rumor to start in December lol.

    • yeah, ..Lin and we will just be GSW fans 🙂
He just had a closer seat with 5-10mpg in playoff.

    • Alain Gervais

      Lin is not being traded

    • Peter Truong From Riverside CA

Just the thought that excite me lol

    • Alain Gervais

Grass is always Greener on the other side of the fence

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Wishful thinking. Lin gets the credit?

    • Alain Gervais

That would be worse. Lin choose a team he fit and turned down a bunch that don’t fit his style. Houston traded Lin to LAL. How did that work out???

    • correct ..

we just need to be patient. It’s a process to get acclimated in 1 system and it takes time.
This is nothing new. JLin took some time to adjust in HOU & LAL.
Most of us just have a short memory and are a little impatient 🙂

    • Alain Gervais

In houston he did. Played in important role on a playoff team.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

If this kind of role does not change I hope your dream comes true, just as mine.

    • Peter Truong From Riverside CA

Just the thought that excite me. I’m okay if he go to the bulls. 🙂

    • Alain Gervais

One last thing. Cliff has his hands full. Lin and Kemba haven’t played well together, So until that happen. Lin cant play with him. Even Lamb has struggled with Kemba.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

McHale might not speak with respect the same way Clifford does to Lin but in term of how they use Lin, I chose McHale any day.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Nothing fit when your role is so inconsistent, low minutes, teammates lousy.

    • Alain Gervais

No way. Look at Lins PER. ITs all about 8 more minutes or so and everything will be perfect

    • Lin being traded mid-season is not good. And it won’t happen since there’s no good return value with his $2M contract. It’s a steal for Hornets

Think of this year as 1 year internship to get the right contract & team next year.
First 20 games is the growing pain to adjust to a new system & teammates. No doubt Lin will play better in Dec-Jan and after All-Star break

    • yup, Kemba still plays like last season. Too much 1-on-1
      Hopefully he learns faster

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      PER? lol.

    • heart

Yep. He’s confirming to the world the reason why he chose Hornets bc of their ‘bigger role’ / ‘more minutes’ promises. But, as we see so far, Hornets are not keeping up their end of the ‘bargain’ that they have in Lin.

    • sws94

So you’d rather Lin sit out whole quarters when he could make a difference? You’d rather have Lin play uptempo and pass and be told not to do that and then in the next game told to be aggressive and play uptempo? Not me. I’d rather have him have a consistent way of being used like Clifford is doing. Next may come expanded role. It’s 10 games, nothing is set in stone.

    • sws94

And usage. Lin gets touches here. He’s on the right unit, he leads them, he closes game. All he needs to do is have more playing time and things are quite good here. It’s a fair media and a coach that doesn’t trash players.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

With all the games there he played, how many did Lin sit out? (Not including when McHale was out for his daughter ill and funeral)

    • Wandais38 .

I don’t really comment here much, but I am detecting a salty tone from you. however, I was using the term “know” loosely. I don’t really have facts about what would have happened. just like everyone here I am just guessing and going by what I see and hear with regards to various scenarios. from past commentary it seems that kerr is not a lin fan and they already have a really good squad, so I am not sure where his minutes would come from? i would imagine lin felt the same way, otherwise why would he turn down a proven championship team, where he could contribute to another one? And in Cali no less.

    • Alain Gervais

People forget how terrible it was. Not to mention the rox fans booing Lin in the playoff before he scored 20

    • sws94

He sat out game after game in the 4th quarter. Both McHale and Sampson did that. He was replaced with Toney Douglass as a defensive replacement. Cliff uses Lin for his defense and believes in his defense. McHale absolutely impacted LIn’s confidence negatively as a coach. He was horrible.

    • Lin is better but we know Curry as MVP will play 35-40mpg in the playoff no matter how hot the backup is.
And Klay would finish with Curry 90% of the time or better.

So yeah, Lin knows he probably won’t finish games most time, even in regular season

What I’m saying is .. it will be worse for JLin fans if he goes to GSW.
We’d try to come up with arguments that Lin should get more PT over Klay to close games .. And that’s hard to do

    • sws94

It’s amazing that they can. Come on. The media, coaches, some of the players, so much was truly negative in Houston. McHale was not a Lin fan and didn’t like his game much.

    • cdblue10

Hornets seems promised something for Lin and it turned out to be as a false promises, bigger role doesn’t coincide with 17 mins playing time with a role of standing at right corner most of the time.

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

I think him getting traded is one of the worst things that could happen. It would just show that another team didn’t want him even at 2 million. Also, he could get traded to a worse team.
The best thing for Lin right now is just to be as efficient as possible in whatever minutes he gets. Hopefully, next year, there will be more teams that will want him more.

    • Alain Gervais

Everything Lin is going throw is because of Rox. Just look at Ty Lawson Now Below 9 ppg On a Less talented Rox. Shows how good Lin was

    • sws94

I don’t want Lin near Kerr. Kerr doesn’t think highly of Lin. He’s almost as bad as Dominique Wilkens when he used to talk about Lin as a commentator.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Why don’t you just make your baseless comment like you said in your comment that you don’t know and without fact. Just stop guessing and detecting other poster tone. Don’t like it? Down vote and move on.

    • oh yeah… with a boss like Kerr, Lin might get 10mpg, much less than Barbosa’s 15mpg
He’s never high on JLin’s game. Brrrrr!

      I shudder at the thought

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

I agree. Kerr was one of the worst. At least Cliff knows what Lin is capable of. Kerr doesn’t think highly of Lin’s game to begin with.

    • sws94

Lawson is having a rough go at it in Houston. He’s too good to be playing like he is. The coaches and system are doing a number on him.

    • yes, I don’t recall Kerr as an announcer ever praise JLin.
So yeah, it’s not good to work for someone who doesn’t have faith in us

    • sws94

So 10/82 games you’ve all decided that Hornets have done Lin wrong. I see signs of trying to give Lin a bigger role. My complaint about Clifford is Lin’s time on the court for the first half in the past 4 games or so. Other than that, everything else is fluid.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Clifford is already outpacing McHale first season of benching Lin in the 4Q so far this 10 games.

Cliff used him as last resort in a few games nothing more.

    • Peter Truong From Riverside CA

It doesn’t matter where JLin go. The NBA will not let Jlin to become a star.

    • cdblue10

Yes I do,if they can prove it otherwise by all means, but as of now they didn’t show anything that’s believable to my own eyes

    • takemeback2reaganyears

At that time, it was a correct decision for Lin to join the Hornets BUT we can’t deny as of today it’s far from what he’s hoping for.

    • sws94

You are salty. And I don’t know of the facts you speak of. Kerr boosted Beverley over Lin in his comments, said both defense and offense run better through Beverley in a game where Beverley was injured and Lin was starting a point. It was very obvious that Kerr was not a fan of Lin. So why should Lin go to a team where the Coach doesn’t believe in him? Makes no sense. And wandais38 has a good point in that the team is in California, his home state.

Lin can shine a lot brighter and contribute more backing up Kemba and closing games in Charlotte than backing up a superstar, one of the best players in the game right now, and not closing games. Would he et a championship? Possible. But not as a major piece of GW as much as Charlotte if he helps Charlotte get into the playoffs and maybe through a round.

    • pandaboy99

How hollow would a champship be if Lin went to the warriors on they won it all and he only played like 5 mins a game or less? itd be like adam morrison on the lakers.

    • BobbyH

10 games indeed are too small a sample size. But by the time it gets to 20 games, and Lin’s PT still ranging from 15 to 22 minutes. I don’t see how it is considered a bigger role. All indications to me is otherwise. But again, I might be wrong.

it just takes one circumstance to change the whole landscape. We shall see.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Don’t personal attack man….I stay very respectful and in bb topic. You’re breaking the rule.

Kerr was a commentator and as commentator he has different agenda with a coach.

    • sws94

We aren’t there yet. Lin has been up and down. And as you said, it takes one circumstance to change the whole landscape.

Hoping for the best for Lin.

    • CJSHYY

I think when Lin said bigger role doesn’t mean it’s Hornets. Bc he said himself he picked Hornets bc coach & this team really wants him. He came here to play his game. But too bad, none of these happened so far. smh!

    • sws94

You beat racism by excelling. This shuts up and embarrasses racists. This I know through personal experience.

This is why I say over and over Lin must play as close to his capabilities as possible given whatever circumstance he is to do so.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

He will not play behind 4ppg and 2apg Livingston who averaged 20mpg

    • Alain Gervais

      Thats conjecture

    • BobbyH

At least we know from the article that MDA still wants Lin. Maybe Lin just uses this Hornet sting to work out his skills and wait for the MDA ride.

    • Linzen

Lin, at 2M/year, has no trade value. So, he can only be a part of a package for a big deal.

    • CJSHYY

So far I don’t like the way Cliff to deal w Lin on court. But just hope… like Cliff said thing can change within one day… hope starts from tonight.

    • heart

Read my posts below expressed similar sentiment. I think Lin wants the truth out so Hornets can change their way and keep their promises to him. Or else, it’s going to be a long season for Lin. How many times have we seen the bar moved by Cliff? After preseason evaluation, then 10, 20, now maybe 30 regular season games? Each time the starting line up opens up, some secretly hope Lin will be inserted, but what happened? Then if he’s not inserted, some hope maybe Cliff will give him more minutes w/the 2nd unit, then what happened? Where is the combo w/ Kemba, PnR, etc.The pattern keeps repeating… Once they’ve shown they are investing in Batum, (like Morey to Harden), some should accept that Lin is a second thought and not be pretentious to paint a rosy picture of the Hornets/Cho/Cliff until they change their way. Accept truth then we can progress.

    • kjch

Random fun fact.. Lin said Omri Casspi is one of his best friends in the NBA.. Who knew that lol

    • sws94

I spoke of your tone which someone else picked up. I love zeal but people that don’t focus on what you do or come to the same conclusions aren’t wishful thinkers as you often say or lacking in facts. They just have a different approach and prioritization. I’m being respectful to you but I also think you may not be aware of your tone sometimes.

    • blubell

And yet he played behind Ronnie Price, Clarkson, Beverly…

    • BobbyH

Yes, that’s the only way unfortunately.

    • Wandais38 .

not sure what you mean as people guess on here all the time and present non facts. that is part of the site and being a fan isn’t it? it’s not like I am presenting some sort stats about lin. I am just referring to his decision and what could have led him to it. there is a lot speculation on everyone’s part. and why would I down vote and move on? from what I see I have several choices. my comment was pretty harmless.
everyone has heard Kerr’s comments in the past about lin, everyone knows lin is a GS fan growing up, and he is from and loves Cali. and between Curry and Thompson, I am not sure where his minutes would come from. is all I was saying.

    • of course, we all agree Lin needs more PT today.
It’s a problem that even JLin recognized and trying to solve by scoring fast and early in the past few games.

There’s nothing we can do other than hoping & praying Lin will continue playing his game with confidence without worries of being pulled that he rushes his shots.

It’s a growing pain & adjustment time but again, it’s still Game 10. The season is long and JLin knows how to survive. Other players are not so durable based on past history so Lin will get his chance.

I have no doubt that if Clifford wants to win, he would have to play JLin more.

    • pandaboy99

gonna need to add hairston to that esteemed bunch.. but clarkson is a good player id take him off that l ist

    • pandaboy99

Maybe they have heated discussions about whether or not Jesus was in fact the son of god lol

    • Linzen

Where ever that has MDA as the coach. That would be my dream come true.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Just get on with your comment, don’t attack me personally using word salty tone.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Tanking team intentionally lakers? GS is on pace to repeat, anything less is disappointed season. Apples and oranges.

    • steven ko

they had a heated discussion of whether Lin should date Omri’s sister or not…

    • This could be the reason =)
      refresh for pic

Not-so-random fact: Omri has a cute sister and JLin doesn’t have a sister =)
Jk .. They bonded over the fact that very few understood the hope and burden being placed upon them from nations & millions of people

And yes, Omri probably doesn’t mind bridging relationship among nations through his sister lol

    • exactly lol

    • JLin Interview by Fung Bros is released.
Professor Jeremy explains about basketball evolution, Stretch 4, spacing, etc. Good stuff!

    • Parent of an 8th Grader

Leaving for the game in about an hour! The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 AM. When do the teams participate in the shootaround? How can I go down to the lower level to give the players hi-fives when they come out from or go back in to the lockerroom at half time? Any ideas or tips?

    • steven ko

i’m just disappointed that Jeremy used a “hover hand” over such a fine girl! come on Jeremy, man up! take more pics with fine girls and less pics of putting your earrings on…

    • LAJane

Not sure what you are advocating. Since your view is that Lin is being used as a disposable scrub and Clifford disrespects him, what should be happening now? – a fan campaign demanding better treatment, or Lin should become outspokenly angry to the media and say he was lied to and he is not happy, or Lin should publicly comment that the Hornets coach and GM and owner are dishonest and incompetent, or he should start a media campaign against race discrimination in sports, or he should leave the NBA to demonstrate how bad an organization it is, or he should call out other players on the team as unproductive and should be replaced, or he should openly court other teams and let the Hornets know they don’t deserve him? What is the best course of action you are advocating that Lin is not able to see for himself.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

No owners, GM or even coach would not ask their MVP/championship team who they want to get to play with him as backup. Curry and Lin are buddies since his rookie year.

    • CJSHYY

I think before season started Cliff really wanted Lin to be starting SG but now I really feel Cliff doesn’t want Lin to start….smh!

    • Shootaround is usually 2-3 hrs before game time.
Try to go to seats nxt the visitor’s tunnel so you can get space with stuff to be signed by players.
Not sure if MSG security allows that but they usually do in some arenas.

Have fun! And share with us your game reports =)

    • CJSHYY

Lin always came out early for shoot around. Last time I went too late only saw Harden.. smh!

    • grover chang

Kerr is not a big fan. But he had said repeatedly on TV Lin is a good back up pg. Not too far off how Clifford uses him

    • blubell

Have fun! Cheer extra loud so we can hear you on TV like those girls from TWolves game 🙂

    • heart

Exactly, Cliff keeps moving the bar. We speak truth as we see it. Some think we’re being negative on Cliff. They’re the ones are putting out false hopes when they’re not calling him out on his actions. If we see changes, then we will be more than happy to declare. So far, Lin fan suffer from watching his unfair treatment, imagine how Lin is feeling. Yet, I don’t like see people putting him him down for his every poor play due to uncertainty in his role and minutes. Can’t they see he’s being jerked around? No one can function successfully and consistently like that in the workplace.

    • sws94

Clifford said Lin is a more complete player than people realize, a solid defender and is a starter level player or at the very least, a very high level backup. That’s a huge difference to me than what Kerr said in that he’s a good backup but lacking defensively.

    • kjch

Lol! And Wow she’s pretty! Got my vote for future gf haha

    • LinMad

      take pics for us!

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Unfortunately, you can’t really do that in NYC. If you try to go to a section that you don’t have tickets for, the security will be all over you like cats on mices (Gollum quote). I know, I tried!

    • sws94

There wasn’t ever anything about starting. He wanted Lin to be “another PnR guard” on the court with Kemba. That doesn’t even mean an SG, you just have to put in SG on the card or they call you that. It means going small with two PGs and each coming at you from different sides or alternating facilitating.

I think all along with Cho and Clifford the plan was to have Lin run the second unit. But it seems Cliff also wants him to overlap with some of the starters, Batum, Kemba and Al and I still think he wants Lin to close most of the games.

The idea of starting seriously came from Lin fans when MKG went out. But Clifford had in mind that Batum is the secondary facilitator on the starting team all along.

    • LinMad

      who’s omri?

    • sws94

Can’t. After the game you can go down into other sections. I’m leaving for the game in about a half hour.

    • sws94

Soon you guys won’t hear from me, I’ll be off to the game and posting after the game. I’m sure that’s a relief for some of you 🙂

    • blubell

Don’t make me put this post in moderation 😛

    • kjch

Hahah! I was gna mention watch out, blubell going nuclear

    • Weifang

      no ingame report for us?

    • blubell

Yay! we’ll have multiple game reports. How exciting! Cheer loud so we can hear you on TV 🙂
Represent/support and most importantly have fun!

    • blubell

      Kaboom!

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

Anyone know if rose is going to be there with her family tonight?

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

      Have fun!!

    • I was impressed by how reasonable the Hornets fans were, how friendly they were to Lin, and how they urged patience. A few were negative and critical, but it seemed that most of them were quite friendly.

    • Awesome! Please note special interactions between JLin & Coach, especially before he checks in 🙂

We’re counting on you for Game Report. Enjoy the game!

    • sws94

No, but maybe Parent will give one.

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

Totally didn’t know that. Hope they can be on the same team again in the future. Did Lin mention parsons?

    • LOL .. The green monster is out roaming =)

    • JustSayNo2HardensIso

      Hahaha

    • sws94

I hope I can see them. I’m up high and I don’t know if I’ll be facing them or behind them. I won’t be able to hear them.

    • LinMad

whoa this video was very detailed

    • kjch

You don’t know? That guy who won NBA player award for cutest sister

    • CJSHYY

Haha! I feel it’s funny. Do they watched the same game like us from Lin? It’s OK to have different opinions. But I really don’t think Lin will feel happy w what Cliff put him on court now. Bc if not for that promise to him, Lin will not pick this team bc for what??? smh! I believe he will be OK. Don’t worry. Even a little bit upset to watch the games sometimes. smh!

    • DX

Hope you bring a lucky game for Lin.

    • heart

Exactly! Lin said Hornets was not his top 6 teams.

    • Sundown

      She is. Jelly

    • CJSHYY

Really? How do you know? She said so in the other side?

    • ok, I guess just enjoy the game.. Bring a telelens or binocular =)

    • LinMad

had no idea. I even googled omri but nothing about NBA

    • Linzen

      Have fun!

    • blubell

      Did you google Omri Casspi?

    • Linzen

      Have fun!!

    • LinMad

ohhhhhhhhhh I know who is Casspi is lol his old teammate that likes to shoot the 3

I just wasn’t familiar with his first name.

    • orLinaryjoe

Yes. Rosebud will be there with two kids in Lin knicks jerseys. Across from visitor bench.

    • blubell

or get those covert listening device. Is there a way to plant a bug near the bench? lol.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I’m reminded of the amazing time I had at the Suns game last season. I’ll always be grateful for your help with the tickets and all. You cannot compare that to seeing a game in NYC. In Phoenix the atmosphere was so much more relaxed and fun. They seem to have the same capacity but in MSG you feel like you’re a coach passenger in a crowded airplane. And like I said above, don’t even think of trying to approach the tunnel. I tried a few head fakes and the old shake and bake but they still caught me! (jk)

    • Lx

Today feels like a good day, if Lin has an outstanding game it would feel even better!

    • orLinaryjoe

      Confirmed like two weeks ago

    • kjch

Here’s the link https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4ugzoI238Cg. Skip to 2:00, he mentions Omri. No parsons coz it’s not relevant here but I see him more as a fake friend tbh

    • DX

      haha, as always.

    • whoa .. Big Brother spy gadgets =)

    • kjch

Yeah he plays for kings now I think~

    • CJSHYY

Wow! Thanks. They always show up to support Lin when he back to MSG.

    • Weifang

      Not hornets Jerseys??

    • ah, so the MSG security guards are watching like hawks

It’s really too bad but understandable being in NY. Glad you had a great experience last time 🙂

    • orLinaryjoe

You’ll have to ask her. Bring back Linsanity to NY would be my guess.

    • CJSHYY

      Hornets is one year deal…

    • DaVinci633

At this point, I cannot see Lin being a starter or even being a bench player that gets 25+ mpg. Lamb overtook Lin’s 6th man position by scoring consistently and a lot in quick burst while playing together with Lin. Cliff doesn’t see the Lin’s contribution to a smoother bench offense and Lin’s solid bench defense. Lin was supposed to be a spark plug, unfortunately if the spark doesn’t catch fire Lin is a dud. A flame just ain’t gonna cut it. Injuries is the only way Lin move up. Same story as Linsanity, the starters got wiped out with Injuries.

    • I know Harden’s D is bad but this … skipping walk D is taking it to another level

      https://twitter.com/TheNBACentral/status/666700690589249536

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yep and it was the same at the Nets arena. I had the impression that they were constantly scanning the place with zoom lenses. I think there are 3 reasons: 1) Real security concerns 2) New Yorkers tend to get rowdy 3) They really don’t want you to move from cheap seats to better ones even if the seats are half empty.

jeremy said his favorite player growing up is MJ. Must be cool to play for him now

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Didn’t read. Just wonder what does this mean?

      https://twitter.com/RealGM/status/666726460951044097

    • CJSHYY

That’s why I said it’s really entertainment to watch Rox game now.

    • blubell

      Desperate times desperate measures, Psalm…

    • Rick Johnson

Usually means locker room issues, bad chemistry. Kind a gripe session to air things out and see if can get the team back on same page. Or sometimes they want to kick out the coach.

    • JLin Fan from Australia
    • CJSHYY

Lin’s first year w Rox also had one… later, some players got traded.

    • Comedy at its finest hour =)
The fact that Coach & the whole organization have allowed this for 3 years will Bring Down the house
      (pun fully intended)

    • CJSHYY

I think Mc knows that’s why Harden was benched in 4Q last night. But still lose.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Can you imagine what God is thinking? Jeremy! I already dislocated MKG’s shoulder. How many more innocent players do I have to injure just so you can’t get some decent playing time?

    • blubell

Especially now due to Paris attacks.

    • CJSHYY

They still will keep him or let him do whatever he wants… smh! Lawson will go to bench soon.

    • whoa .. let’s not go that far.
Injuries are always unfortunate no matter who they are.

What’s important is JLin being ready when the opportunity presents itself

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

u know it is just big joke! right?

    • blubell

I thought Kobe would lead the league in missed shots.

    • orLinaryjoe

      Welcome to the naughty side!

    • CJSHYY

Harden wants to have his own record. You know the league the best player. LOL!

    • golfhacker

Kobe hasn’t played in as many games or he probably would!

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I think you realize that if MKG were not out for the season we would be looking at 10-15 MPG. And if that were the case I think even you would be typing obscenities in all caps. psalm would be like, “Only 10 minutes! WHAT THE ~!@#$%^&!!!

    • Sundown

No coaches on that team, every meeting is a players-only meeting.

    • Guest

MJ hasn’t been touted a very successful NBA team owner but he must feel very cool about his biggest off season ‘the Jeremy Lin acquisition’ right now..

    • blubell

Didn’t he break the record last year for most missed shots in NBA history?

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

He would but he sat out 3 games already.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Yes he did and that’s one of those rare records that will never, ever be broken.

    • wu kong

it looks like his heel is injured. he does not put the back of his foot down. watch the right foot.. . weird.

    • blubell

      End of discussion! 😛

    • Rick Johnson

I think this season Kobe hasn’t played as many minutes as Harden and has missed games. Doesn’t Kobe have the record for overall career missed shots?

    • Rick Johnson

      Moves like a old man

    • Guest

Isn’t Rich Cho AA? Wait I forgot Kevin Ding too…Oh well..

    • JLin Fan from Australia

LOLOLOL Am tired to see/glimpse all the discussion concerning JLin. So, this is fun for something different:-)

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Must admit I didn’t watch him that much. My eyes were all on JLin when I watched games. Doesn’t see any difference from his “normal” play walk.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Ok @heart:disqus, here’s the deal. I totally agree with everything you’re saying. But the problem is the same exact thing has happened for 3 teams in a row now. Rox, Lakers and now Hornets. Many of us kept insisting that in FA Lin will choose a team/coach who supports him and all his problems will be solved. Unfortunately, Lin chose the Hornets. I’m afraid Lin was too trusting and didn’t lay down specific, concrete conditions before he signed. Lin probably felt that as long as he played well, the Hornets will treat him fairly. It was a mistake to be so trusting. So now we really just have to hope for the best. Bashing Clif or the Hornets will not help. Lin will be a FA at the end of the season and then he can correct the mistake.

    • grover chang

I said Clifford “uses” Lin as a back up. He has praised Lin more then Kerr, but usage is still as a back up, just as Kerr had concluded.

    • orLinaryjoe

      Yes directional microphone.

    • adele

Heart, for now everyone here is tired of our plea. Let the situation speak for itself. It won’t be long. 🙁

    • spiderman

I guess teams are catching on and “attacking” Harden

    • Rick Johnson

Yes last year they were able to hide Harden on defense. This year teams are specifically gunning for him. Makes sense because if he works on defense he can’t save energy on offense. If he doesn’t defend they get a basket.

    • adele

Heart, for now we will be patient and wait. I will just read posts here and refrain from putting in my two cents. Its now a waiting game for me.

    • bolero
    • LinMad

      that’s pretty sad

    • adele

Yes they will announce it to the whole nba world

    • Joe what do you know

This normally only happens when the team is massively underperforming and the morale is extremely low…

    • heart

Yep. I am glad you agree w/me on everything I’m saying. I know that it’s always hindsight that Lin should have had it in writing, and perhaps he did. We don’t know. What can one do when the other man does not keep his words. I don’t think Lin wants to go the secular route. Nevertheless, we’re not bashing Hornets/Cho/Cliff. We’re speaking truth by calling them out in reference to the ‘supposed broken promises’ they bargained w/Lin when he gave them a discount to sign w/them. That’s helping Lin, not hurting him. In the past, Lin was silent most of the time when Rox criticized him in the media. This time Lin reacts quicker and has been more vocal. That’s a sign that Lin fans should key in and help him by speaking out.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

JLIN interview from July 2, 2015 (courtesy of @james brown)

“QQ Sports: You also mentioned you had a long talk with Clifford. Did he talk with you about whether
      you will start
or come off the bench because Kemba plays at the starting 1,and seems like you will be at 1 or 2? Are there definitive answers to those questions already?

Lin: He said if I was asking him now, then I would come off the bench, But he emphasized if I play well and the team needs me to start, then he wouldn’t limit me to a bench player. The coach also said he will let me play with Kemba for a long time and even if I don’t play well in Charlotte, he will give me a lot of room to play with mistakes.

    • cdblue10

I know you like Hornets ,I liked them too…a young team with a lot of upside with a glimpses of excitement plays and mostly about them is they’re underdog and it’s fun to root for a team like that, but a promised is a promised especially when Lin is performing well with hard facts, and I hate to see this especially if they talk to a guy who believed them and give his loyalty to play for them with a short change. That’s a lot of sacrifices for a guy that can get a contract 3-4 times better than that.

    • adele

That Lin fans should be one and stand together in one voice calling for unfair treatment. That’s what it’s all about having an open forum such as this? To be heard as one and not like a scattered group. Hope its going to be that way. Always hoping.

    • adele

And yet Byron Scott said he is a Lin fan and look what he did? You can’t really base everything in what a person said and what a person do on the other point.

    • wu kong

Ok so I know the baseline buzz people posted a survey and some here were filling it out and others were sceptical… just would like you to note a few tweets from today…

      https://twitter.com/bradford_NBA/status/666690517632196608

      https://twitter.com/bradford_NBA/status/666752089087954944

    • wu kong

Bradford Coombs writes for baseline buzz. this is NOT a legit organization and there is obviously NO journalistic ethics. be careful of things that seem fishy …um like that survey. just sayin’

    • adele

Really you believe what a person will say and do another thing? What happened when Byron Scott said that he is a Lin fan? And Clifford that he trust and believe in Lin and his actions are not in accordance with what he said?

    • grover chang

Well based on linsanity and Rockets games where Lin was the leader. That would be one more player has to go. I know you are joking but it usually takes about two players to be injured for Lin to takeover. Bigger the star the better.

    • blubell

Unfollowed Coombs long time ago. He was really never nice towards JLin fans.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! They just use Lin’s name to get fans for attention or click. smh!

    • wu kong

he writes for baseline Buzz… so be wary of them too

    • adele

So sad. Were turning against each other when we should be one in our voice to bring out Lin’s strength as a player and call out the unfair and biased treatment in court. I thought that this is a forum of unity for Lin. SAD! !! :((((((

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

Not really saying he needed to put it in writing. More like, “Look, I can sign with the Bulls for $6mil/year. But I’ll sign with the Hornets for only $2 mil because I expect to be more than just a backup. I need to play a minimum of 20 minutes/game and average at least 25 mpg. It’s a contract year for me. Otherwise I’ll just sign with the Bulls.” I don’t think they could disregard a clear condition like that even if it’s only verbal agreement. I have a feeling that Lin thought he was dealing with honorable men and he just trusted them to be fair.

    • adele

Heart, my advice is just to keep silent. I think our opinions are nothing. To the point of personally attacking a blogger is very low.

    • heart

I’m glad you exposed their tweets. I wished that baseline buzz survey was not posted here in this forum before checking out his credentials/credibility. So sad that some got suckered into answering his survey.

    • blubell

Only official Hornets tweets, couple of Hornets beat writers, and At The Hive are worth following. The others are, like Coombs says, not legit media and doesn’t really add much in terms of news.

    • CJSHYY

So Baseline Buzz is not good either?

    • khomphuong2
    • adele

Well I hope you remember that Byron Scott said that he is a Lin fan. Now I know that not all who said “I am a Lin fan” is trustworthy.

    • Alain Gervais

They are just a Fan site. Just like this site but for the hornets. Same as Clutchfans

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

      That’s the sad truth.

    • Alain Gervais

      Knicks Legend??

    • heart

That’s what I read on twitters. Some are very skeptical.

    • wu kong

this guy coombs write for them… have to question the validity of an organization that allows their ‘writer’ to say things like above. JLin is a Hornet’s team member and it is appalling to treat his fan base this way. so I cannot believe the Hornets would approve of this.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! Legend? He’s too young to call Legend… but I like it. Haha!

    • Guest

Now that Lin’s speaking out, his camp gotta enlist the sponsors too..just sayin

    • Charlie S

I haven’t been following much but I got to ask. Why are JLin’s minutes going down to Laker levels?

    • CJSHYY

I want to know too. Cliff? What’s the answer?

    • Alain Gervais

      I don’t like it.

    • khomphuong2
    • Chipdip

Lin gels up before the game starts?

    • JJ Hui

      TO machine records!

    • CJSHYY

      No, Don’t think he did.

    • blubell

Not much to update. It’s either down off court or spiked on court lol.

    • your son’s voltaire

today he will get around 30 minutes cus PJ and Lamb are both out

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Saw the tweet when it first came out. Refused to do anything with it. When I woke up and saw people involved in this.

    • heart

start reviewing posts or keep reading you’ll see why.

    • Jeremiah (the Grey)

I can usually rile them up with a simple “I think Lin is better coming off the bench”

There are so many “Lin fan” posters here who argue that Lin should not start.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

This is the norm for this season until the final hairstyle that he and his friends are aiming for:-)

    • takemeback2reaganyears

if he keeps cutting it, he’ll never get there

    • JW

They have an editor Adam Chin. He was on the live talk last saturday. He was talking about some of Lin’s numbers are better Walker.

      http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hivetalklive/2015/11/14/saturday-sit-down-adam-chin-of-baseline-buzz

The talk started around 47:30 minutes mark.

    • KHuang

Because Lin’s had bouts of bad shooting interspersed with regularly poor play from the bench.

Many times, the Charlotte bench plays so badly even when Lin’s playing decently. Guys like Spencer Hawes are not showing up ready to play, and Frank Kaminsky is bricking every easy shot that he’d normally make in his sleep.

If the Charlotte bench can start producing more, Lin will play better and will receive more minutes.

    • blubell

His hair is actually longer now.

    • your son’s voltaire

normally Clifford leaves one of either Kemba or Batum in with the 2nd unit to hog all of the shots and mess up their chemistry

    • your son’s voltaire

perhaps his barber just clean up his sides from time to time leaving the top part intact..

    • KHuang

I don’t disagree with that, actually.

Many times, the bench has shown itself incapable of holding onto a lead if a starter is not on the court with them.

It has nothing to do with Lin and Lamb and everything to do with the lack of a reserve SF and the zero play coming from the bigs.

The guy that should be playing a lot better is Frank Kaminsky. He’s bricking layups, open shots, EVERYTHING. It’s hard to justify him playing more minutes when he cannot even seem to hit an open layup.

    • Yascar

Anybody post Jeremy’s FB post on the little girl he did a handshake with? Sweetest ever. Can’t seem to link it. Check it out.

And now on to the game. Go Jeremy!!

    • CJSHYY

But for his career in NY, Legend is good. I always hope he can go back to NYK. Not going to happen.

    • Alain Gervais

It was for haif a season. Not long enough for Legend. Maybe if he was there longer but Melo made sure that didn’t happen. The spell in NY was Legendary but thats about it.

    • blubell

It was posted couple times in the previous thread. You can tell he genuinely loves kids. Such a sweet moment 🙂

    • Yascar

Well there you go. I was probably asleep when it was posted.

He really is great with kids! ?

    • your son’s voltaire

no, i mean they’re there when the 2nd unit first rotate in. the 2nd unit never even have a chance to do their thing to begin with

    • KHuang

      That’s fine with me too.

None of us truly want the bench to be “doing their thing”, especially since Hawes is playing so weak and unathletically and Zeller is totally inconsistent and Kaminsky is bricking and Lamb can’t really get it done unless Lin is protecting him and Roberts can’t get it done period!

The only bench player that consistently produces no matter what is Jeremy Lin.

    • blubell

Yeah, it seems like he trims the sides and grows the middle part. Not sure if he’ll be able to spike it when it’s longer, without being a real distraction.

    • Chopz

Hey to keep our spirits up, at least ur new album will be released on November 20th : )

    • blubell

      Hello~ from the outside~~~~

    • JLin Fan from Australia

My guess is he will tie the hair down like Hawkes.

    • Chopz

At least I can say that I’ve tried. – to convince coach Clifford to play Lin more minutes.

    • blubell

      I dread that day… 🙁

    • wu kong

so I have to wonder if Adam Chin is aware of what his write Bradford Coombs is saying. no legit publication would allow a writer representing your organization to say things like that.

    • blubell

But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore – Clifford limiting Jeremy’s minutes? LOL

    • Chopz

      hehehe

At the end, Cliff talks about lin being a good defender, a tough defender, and strong enuf to guard many SGs.

    • heart

Just heard from Hornets commentators: They’re surprised that this is the first time in his career, Batum made Player of the Week and Jeremy Lamb will play and will get starters’ minutes.

    • blubell

What’s the official line up? I thought Zeller, Marvin, AL, Batum, and Kemba?

    • CJSHYY

From Hornets commentators – Jeremy Lamb will play and will get starters’ minutes?

    • heart

      yep.

    • CJSHYY

So Lin probably will be like last game then? smh!

    • blubell
    • CJSHYY

Did they talk about Lin at all?

    • heart

MW replaced PJ. They said MW will guard Melo. Nothing about Lin.

    • heart

      Nope.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

hehehehehe Let’s wait and see. Not going to be shock whatever he and his friends end up with:-) At least he isn’t dying his hair in a weird way and has tatoo:-)

    • JLin Fan from Australia

      He is playing.

    • blubell

True.. but Baby Lin already went with the man bun. I really don’t want to see that with Jeremy. NEVER! lol

Hornets commentators said MW will guard Melo in place of PJ.

It’s funny all from NY media about Lin. None from Hornets media? NY really loves Lin.

    • blubell

Lin/Lamb/Hawes/Cody have been outstanding together without Kemba or Batum

    • Yascar

The thing about Coach Cliff is that he actually makes sense when he talks about the game. Not all mouth like McHale and BS. I really don’t sense any “hate” on Lin but he doesn’t see him as a big piece of the puzzle.

I still think Jeremy is in a better position here than he has been in the last 3 years. But we’ll see.

    • Chopz

That’s why we love them knicks fans cuz lin will always hold a special place in their hearts.

    • your son’s voltaire

the day Lin sport a man-bun, i’m will no longer be a fan. in fact, i may turn into a hater

    • JLin Fan from Australia
    • Yascar

      Wow. That’s discipline.

    • blubell

      LOL.

    • heart

They said they start out w/MW, but Batum probably will matchup w/Melo in 4th like you said. So far no mentions of Lin. Nada!

    • blubell

and yet some still make issues about Jeremy’s turnovers…

    • gum

      Rose’s son, perhaps?

    • your son’s voltaire

here’s the thing. if Lamb start, he’s gonna suck while playing without Lin in the 1st unit. so when Lin comes in and plays well, he’ll see a lot of minutes

    • CJSHYY

I want to watch NYK commentator not Hornets.

    • heart

Currently being interview, Cliff says MW will be at 3, Cody at 4. He does not want to put burden on Batum to guard Melo.

    • KHuang

      Such GARBAGE.

NOBODY has followed Lin’s path, least of all Langston Galloway.

    • your son’s voltaire

probably. Lin should know them by now haha

    • CJSHYY

So Batum became another Harden in Hornets now?! Need someone to help for D?

    • Chopz

      Hope so

    • Parent of an 8th Grader

Lin’s shots look good. Practicing his low dribbles. His spiky hair is very spirited and feisty looking. Like it. -live from MSG-

    • LinMad

Which feed should I watch? NY or Charlotte?

    • CJSHYY

Wow! You are in MSG now. Tell us more…LOL!

    • Yascar

If you listen to the interview, Cliff needs Batum to concentrate on offense to start the game. He’ll be on Melo to close. He’s trying to balance the team out.

    • CJSHYY

      I like NY.

    • blubell

      NY. Clyde is the best!

    • your son’s voltaire

i hate this coach. really. everybody has to play defense. he’s just promoting selfishness like mchale did with harden. and all batum has to do is guard his own man, he doesn’t even have to help others. sigh

    • heart

Covering D for Batum to conserve energy for scoring, that’s what we see.

    • orLinaryjoe

      Knicks feed!

    • occupatio

me too. i switched back and forth last time, and knicks feed is better.

    • CJSHYY

I think bc MW will not close the game.

    • CJSHYY

      I got the picture.

    • Linzen

Thanks all, Knicks feed it is.

    • CJSHYY

Exactly. That’s what Hornets is doing now. Team ball? NO…

    • blubell
    • Chopz

oh yeah. I usually watch hornets feed, but can’t miss the main man himself Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Ny feed it is.

    • heart

Yep. Conserving Harden’s engergy. Hornets conserving Batum’s energy. Obviously, it’s for the purpose of scoring. Rox’s model.

    • Parent of an 8th Grader

Tried to attach photos but takes too long

    • Linzen

You got a point. Creating Harden2

    • CJSHYY

Can’t believe this… smh! Finally out of Rox then this…?

    • cshot

may watch the NY feed as well. Stephanie or whatever on the charlotte feed kind of annoys me at times lol

    • LinMad

they keep reusing this gif lol

    • heart

I think I might switch to listening to NYK commentators. Hornets are promoting Batum similarly to Rox promoted Harden.

    • bolero

Batum will guard Melo on 4Q..eventually

    • LinMad

im tuning in NYK like i did last game, i don’t really like how they promote Batum so much

    • CJSHYY

Ya! That means he will not show up for half time or final picture.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! That’s the way it’s now. Like I said Batum is #1 guy in the team now.

    • heart

They save the best for Batum of course.

    • blubell
    • takemeback2reaganyears

No way I am going to miss Frazier.

    • Arsenium12 .

Clyde getting Snickers bars at MSG for his 66th birthday … (Mike Breen is to Clyde’s left)
      __________

    • Yascar

And he’s done very well so far. This isn’t about Lin. It’s about the team.

    • Alain Gervais

I haven’t heard that since Lin has been here

    • Linzen

This. They can promote Batum all they want. Just give 25mpg to Jeremy.

    • blubell

One in a while they mention it even after Batum had 8 turnovers.

    • heart

Of course, w/all the support for him from top down. Who wouldn’t?

    • Parent of an 8th Grader

Player introduction and a very heartfelt national anthem

    • LinMad

LP feed not showing any of this

    • Chopz

Dang it, i should’ve listened to the ny feed last time they played. Forgot all about that.

    • LinMad

Cliff had to answer a lot of pregame questions about Lin.

    • Alain Gervais

      What did he say?

    • blubell

They rarely show this part or the game.

    • CJSHYY

Really? From NY media, right? LOL!

    • LinMad

      its on hornets homepage

    • Alain Gervais

Lol i was being a bit lazy

    • blubell
    • LinMad

i haven’t watched part 2 of it yet

    • cdblue10

I’m turning to MSG channel this time for coasting and toasting

    • NONONO

Nothing to comment until Lin get to chance play as PG.

    • blubell

I’m lazy too but can’t listen to it at work either. lol.

    • blubell
    • Alain Gervais

      Batum is the starters.

    • Yascar

Lin is becoming a good defender. He works very hard and he likes that he can play 2 positions.

    • FrankW

      Clyde the truth Frazer

    • blubell

      Thanks!

    • LinMad

      good pass from Kemba

    • CJSHYY

So weird, Batum didn’t get the ball a lot. It’s Kemba run the O not Batum?

    • cdblue10

      Knicks pulling away

    • Alain Gervais

      Knicks not allowing him to

    • cdblue10

    • CJSHYY

    • LinMad

      not happening with Carmelo

    • Alain Gervais

      Kemba is so inefficiency

    • cdblue10

      true,it’s been always like that

    • CJSHYY

Only saw Kemba passed one ball to Batum.

    • your son’s voltaire

that would only mean one thing.. Batum will keep playing with the 2nd unit and take most of the shots

    • Alain Gervais

They are doubling him. He pass it to Kemba who shot 2 threes and missed both

    • CJSHYY

      NO….

    • heart

      You just now realize this?

    • LinMad

yep…hes gonna kill the lin/lamb combo

    • CJSHYY

    • your son’s voltaire

no, just now have a chance to say it

    • CJSHYY

      No Lin as usual. smh!

    • CJSHYY

Finally saw Lin about to check in.

    • Parent of an 8th Grader

Lin just got lots of cheers and boos?

    • LinMad

Lin’s in and I hear cheering and boos

    • heart

I see. You see what I see. Hornets will give Batum every chance to increase his scoring.

    • cdblue10

    • your son’s voltaire

    • NONONO

    • cdblue10

    • LinMad

    • blubell

lets not set the expectation and then fail….it is what it is… 🙂

Lin is doing well, with given minutes….I’m Happy! 🙂

    • cdblue10

      Give the ball to Lin

    • Rick Johnson

Bench is better than starters. Losing the lead

    • your son’s voltaire

wth was Al doing? he called for the ball from Lin and screwed up

    • blubell

      Efficiency!

    • LinMad

alright Lin needs to score now cause everyone else is missing and falling

    • NONONO

      Give ball to LIN!!!!!!

    • cshot

      KEMBA…kemba!!!! stop plz

    • cdblue10

      Kembaand Batum lose this half

    • CJSHYY

They will not. To Batum I think.

    • sport

Lin at the no.3 in minutes this game similar to starters for the first time this season! Hope he gets 30+ minutes!

    • NONONO

no body gives ball to him

    • your son’s voltaire

Lin was gonna make a move to the basket but Big Al waved for the ball and screwed up

    • zxcvb

Lin still not getting the ball back from his teammates. All his points he’s gotten 100% by himself with no help.

    • Lx

I think Kemba wants to get some of the spotlight.

    • heart

Let Lin be PG please. KW wasted at least the last 3 possessions.

    • Chopz

Freakin starters come back in and offense sucks.

    • NONONO

Hornets knows Lin has hot hands, but……..

    • LW

So the starter come back in and the lead is gone! Way to go starters and Cliff! SMH

    • Maknusia

Knicks is closing in….come on Hornets!!!

    • sport

Players are selfish, no one can help Lin but himself and make every shot!!

    • blubell

      Probably. he’s from NY.

    • LinMad

      Lin/Lamb combo works

    • cdblue10

      Aflalo became an unknown entity

    • your son’s voltaire

ouch. Marvin just landed on Melo

    • DX

We all see why is better Lin plays with 2nd unit.

    • blubell

      Affalo who?

    • Alain Gervais

      Threes not falling today

    • cdblue10

disappeared and burst like a bubble

    • Maknusia

oh my…wished the 3 had gone in?!

    • NONONO

      5 starters, one + – Wiiliams

    • zxcvb

Finally got the ball…missed. 3s cold for most lately.

    • LinMad

      Marvin landed on Melo lol

    • Alain Gervais

      2-13 from threes today

    • LinMad

      Lin is best penetrating

    • Lx

Marvin does booty slam. Very effective.

    • blubell

      Soft landing?

    • heart

      funny.

    • Alain Gervais

      He lost the ball before

    • LinMad

Lin 14 minutes first half. Unheard of.

    • NONONO

      Cliff , helpless

    • CJSHYY

      I know… Batum didn’t take any shot after 0-4?

    • Alain Gervais

      Starters plus minus is horrible

    • Rick Johnson

Dang, Clifford going to have to sit Walker and Jefferson again like last game. 8 popping lead down to 2.

    • Chopz

Everybody on this team thinks they are a better scoring option than lin, pass the dang rock.

    • LinMad

      Kemba taking them for him

    • DaVinci633

Anyone here thinks Lin will get over 30 mins?

    • heart

It’s NY atmosphere. Lin can handle the spotlight. Let him be pg.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Frazier is a silence LOF.

    • CJSHYY

Haha! Ya! Kemba just kept taking the shots.

    • LinMad

      28 maybe 30

    • NONONO

      Cliff blind!

    • Chopz

In any atmosphere, lin can handle the spotlight.

    • cshot

It appalls me how they are ignoring the player who got them back in the game

    • zxcvb

3s not falling, but everything else looks great today. Just hope he gets 10+ minutes in the 2nd half.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

If you make it here you make it anywhere, NY.

    • your son’s voltaire

the three guys Kemba, Big Al, and Batum should not be on the court together

    • heart

you’re right. but for tonight especially. Knicks want revenge. Lin can stop them.

    • NONONO

I rather he plays 20 mins PG

    • Chopz

He’s not silent about it. Always compliments lin.

    • Alain Gervais
    • blubell

      I don’t know about silent… he’s pretty loud and clear 🙂

    • heart

      That’s right.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Like how crazy in China? Fans sneaked to his hotel floor?

    • LinMad

Lin will need to close the game. Starters are not playing well today

    • blubell
    • CJSHYY

He’s good. He got more news than Melo in NY now. LOL!

    • NONONO

they should replace KW with Lamb

    • cdblue10

      like screaming loud

    • your son’s voltaire

Kemba would be good playing with Hawes since both don’t like to push the ball

    • blubell
    • JLin is doing his thing.
ESPN Top Performer: JLin & Porzingis

    • Chopz

Like they say in the wizard of oz: theres no place like home.

    • Sws94

He looks great except for the nump shot.

    • CJSHYY

NBA TV really nice to Hornets now…LOL!

    • zxcvb

Prediction: Lin and MDA in Brooklyn next year.

Latest NY Post article mentioned MDA still trying to reunite with Lin. Brooklyn is crumbling and has no draft picks. They’ve expressed interest in Lin before but Billy King overruled it. King and Hollins are lame ducks who’ll be fired at the end of the year…something to watch.

    • Rick Johnson

If starters lose the lead in the third quarter they should sit them the rest of the game again. Al & Kemba Show doesn’t work against the Knicks. Saw that last week.

    • NONONO

      Lin scores > Knicks 2 Gs scores. > 2* C. Anthony scores

    • LinMad

And in a few months, GM/coach going to set him up for failure so Carmelo can be happy

    • your son’s voltaire

i’d hate to be guarded by Lin. the guys shuts down almost everybody on a nightly basis

    • Alain Gervais

Melo looks worse this year. Shooting less efficiently

    • cdblue10

Walker needs to be the 6th man,he fits a 6th man role

    • sport

      Not 14 only 12:56 close to 13minutes.

    • blubell

Thanks for checking in. I have a feeling you’re having fun 🙂

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      minus 4 as stand by.

    • Lx

LOL these types of posts always brings me false hope. I remember the denver reunion rumour and I thought it was going to happen.

    • zxcvb

Midrange looks nice, but his 3 seems off. I think he’s jumping too high…but I’m no shot expert.

    • cdblue10

how do you read my mind?

    • your son’s voltaire

would be awesome. MDA looking for a coaching gig and Lin will need to pick his next team

    • takemeback2reaganyears

This is a new for Lin to play all the way to the end of 2nd half.

    • blubell
    • blubell
    • Alain Gervais

Not gonna believe it till it happen. Also Brooklyn are horrible. They need better player. Lin and dantoni not enough. We will see who they draft

    • LinMad

Oh man, if MDA and Lin reunites…Hornets is going to miss out and steve clifford going to wish he played Lin more.

    • blubell
    • blubell
    • your son’s voltaire

Walker the 6th man would be great with Hawes. while Lin on the starting unit with Batum and Big Al will kill everybody

    • Chopz

      You’re in the Linverse baby.

    • blubell
    • bolero
    • zxcvb

I think MDA is the only coach who will let Lin play 34mpg of his game. Because he’s seen with his own eyes how good he can be with a fair chance. Everyone else is just looking at a boxscore and hearing secondhand words from Silas or MDA.

    • LinMad

How much were we trailing by before Lin/Lamb and 2nd unit came in to take the lead?

    • blubell

I’m always in the Linverse. It’s love here 😛

    • heart

Interesting most of us are listening to NYK Frazier commentating and not Hornets feed.

    • Chopz

Ask derek fisher about that. His heads still spinning from that move.

    • Lx

      Losing by 6 points.

    • LinMad

and then we lead by so much but then starters came back in and now we’re only leading by 2

    • cdblue10

      Lamb stuffing those alley oopps

    • LinMad

I think Kemba was a little selfish today. He was playing very sloppy/forcing shots.

    • cdblue10

MJ neds to re-evalute his team and his marketing strategy

    • blubell

Its only natural. Linsanity would not have been the same without his colorful commentary 🙂

    • Rick Johnson
    • your son’s voltaire

      starting lineup should be
Lin / Lamb / Batum / Big Al / Cody
      Kemba as the 6th man

    • Clyde’s commentary on JLin is top-notch!

    • Alain Gervais

Cliff play who ever is hot

    • zxcvb

Clyde is so much fun. He called Walker “Lilliputian” and he used my favorite term: “Lin and Lamb provided impetus!”

    • cdblue10

Hornets 1st guards are doing good D on Lin trying to stop him….LOL

    • CJSHYY

For today, I like Steve Popper. LOL!

    • sport

Not happening unless Lin puts up allstar 20+ PPG numbers.

    • Alain Gervais

Trying new units. The one with Lin, Kemba and Kaminsky is a good lineup

    • zxcvb

Unless it’s Lin. In which case, it depends who’s healthy.

    • Chopz

Robin knows this, he shouldn’t be surprised. He loves lin.

    • NONONO

and do not defend and do not set screens.

    • your son’s voltaire

unfortunately but it would win a lot of games

    • zxcvb

Hawes really stinks. Even though he made some shots today, he’s hogging the ball and missing terribly on his misses. And with Lin and others wide-open around him.

It’s okay to miss shots, as long as they’re good shots and you’re not hogging.

    • Hope

Love Frazier. Hate the halftime crew.

    • NONONO

Lin needs to handle the ball more than getting minutes

    • heart

      About to post that.

    • Lx

      Okay its losing time now.

    • Rick Johnson

Starters going to lose the lead watch

    • cdblue10

      they’ll lose this lead again

    • zxcvb

Best announcing crews are Toronto and Washington, IMO. Clyde is the best color commentator…best phrasings.

Even mainstream fans agree that Houston and Atlanta are the worst: both the dumbest and most homer-iffic.

    • NONONO

LIN will get 30 mins today. But he cannot help much without ball.

    • blubell
    • Alain Gervais

Al is really cant guard KP

    • your son’s voltaire

just like last time they played against the Knicks. starters keep losing and bench keep having to bail them out

    • Lx

      GIVE HIM MORE COACH!

    • your son’s voltaire

Knicks and Hornets have the top 5 bench

    • cdblue10

      Aflalo is scoring again

    • blubell

What about Chick Hern if he was still alive?.. he is a legend.

    • your son’s voltaire

      tied game

    • zxcvb

A bit before my time, hehe.

    • cdblue10

      nice 3 williams

    • Lx

      Come on guys more defense.

    • blubell

      Haha. no problem.

    • CJSHYY

      Batum only took 5 shots?

    • sport

I start watching yet Lin’s already out :/

    • MorlockO

Zeller sucks with the starters yikes

    • sport

Yes 0-5 with only 1 point.

    • GoJLin!

Lin check in @ 1Q 2:28, NYK 22-15, then KW/Al check in @ 2Q 6:24, CHA 38-30; Jlin has +15; then at end of 2nd Q, NYK 46-48; hornets starters waste Jlin’s efficiency. Hope they let Lin play the PG, or pass the ball to him when he is open. Go, JLIN Go!

    • Alain Gervais

      Starters cant guard Knics

    • cdblue10

Aflalo disappeared on 2Q while Lin guarding him

    • LinMad

      this doesn’t show the rebound

    • zxcvb

Batum can’t guard SGs. CHA is idiotic. Batum is a great glue guy SF, not a SG. All this to keep both MKG and Nic.

    • heart

      Frazier: Affalo abusing Batum.

    • your son’s voltaire

so what happens when Batum doesn’t make a shot, has only 1 point, and isn’t required to play any defense??

    • cdblue10

      nice Zeller

    • NONONO

did i just hear it on TV?

    • Chopz

Zellers is Bounding and astounding says clyde

    • good putback by Zeller

    • zxcvb

Plays more to get his stats back up? Not Asian, keep playing.

    • Alain Gervais

      Kemba getting hot

    • Lx

Starters doing a good job at holding the lead.

    • CJSHYY

Why Walker took so many shots? None for Batum?

    • zxcvb

Starting Kemba and Lin together would be lethal but…oh well.

    • your son’s voltaire

i dont think Batum likes playing with Kemba very much lol

    • NONONO

      Zeller!!!

    • Alain Gervais

      Still starters too much iso

    • CJSHYY

      That’s for sure. LOL!

    • LinMad

Batum not an offensive factor today after a 30+ points game…interesting

    • heart

      yep.

    • cdblue10

Walker doesn’t want to be outshined, shooting the ball everytime he touch it.

    • sport

It’s not like Batum doesn’t play unselfish. Walker probably also feels the threat from Lin who was leading in point before checking out.

    • half a coast-to-cast, I guess

    • cdblue10

scared to be outshined by Lin

    • CJSHYY

He controlled the ball & not passed to Batum… LOL!

    • Lx

Batum is getting a taste of his own medicine.

    • cdblue10

      Silent ballhog

    • NONONO

      53% FT. Hornets wake up!

    • sport

Both selfish players pretending to be “team players”. Don’t feel sorry for Batum for playing selfish and icing out Lin every game.

    • heart

Box score shows Batum only has 1 pt so far.

    • LinMad

Lin deserves his jersey up there

    • Lx

      Woo go Al

    • LW

Hornets starter do not disappoint so far: they are holding the lead given by the bench!

    • NONONO

      has anyone seen P.E. smile?

    • LinMad

i’ve seen him play with his lips today

    • your son’s voltaire

      yeah

    • cdblue10

      hu’s PE?ohhh Patrick E

    • sport

Hope Lin continues to shooting well when he’s back and still become the leading scorer of this game!

    • Alain Gervais

Unique way to write who lol

    • heart

Walker has been controlling the ball w/o passing to Batum. He has only 1 pt so far. Amazing.

    • LinMad

      he’s inconsistent!

    • My wife is surprised Ewing looks so sick now

    • MorlockO

      Patrick ewing?

    • NONONO

      ya

    • your son’s voltaire

seems impossible to push the pace with Kemba on the floor

    • cdblue10

need to do cost cutting, just using one hand, other one is injured

    • Alain Gervais

      lol

    • CJSHYY

Ya! That’s what Lance said about kemba….

    • LinMad

      Al could have saved that..nevermind

    • NONONO

      KP is fast!

    • MorlockO

Take Batum out! his head is not in the game…

    • your son’s voltaire

      and there goes the lead

    • Alain Gervais

      Starters losing lead again

    • LinMad

Did Batum celebrate too hard from last game?

    • your son’s voltaire

Porzingis is awesome. lol @ Lakers

    • Lx

I think its time to bring out the secret weapon.

    • Chopz

Por-zingis keeps paying like this and he’ll be rich-zingis.

    • cdblue10

Porzinga has a crazy distance with his size

    • LinMad

      Porzingis is cray

    • Alain Gervais

      They really messed up

    • Hornets need JLin to stop the momentum & applies pressure.
      Will he check in soon?

    • Rick Johnson

Predicable. Same as first game they played against them.

    • Alain Gervais

Kemba has a -14. Although he is scoring well mostly in iso

    • LinMad

hes a problem cause he can shoot the 3 and mid range making it look easy

    • CJSHYY

Ya! He wants to be star for this game.

    • LinMad

im hoping so. Cliff is probably angry at defense

    • cdblue10

And he has good post moves too with his size

    • I am The Jason

Until Lakers fire Byron Scott, that young team will lose a lot.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Young Dirk

    • LinMad

with 19 points in 14 fga ,that’s pretty good but he’s shooting a lot

    • sport

threatened by Lin’s scoring earlier so started ball hogging to have the highest points.

    • cdblue10

      yeah

    • Alain Gervais

The russian has a career high on us….. Just great

    • heart

KW needs to distribute the ball. He’s been one man show too long.

    • sport

That’s the type of FGA that Lin should hit every game to get more points!

    • LinMad

      who is on Porzingas?

    • CJSHYY

Not Lin but Batum. Kemba started ISO from the beginning of the game. smh!

    • Hornets offense looks so disorganized with him playing 1-on-1 too much

    • your son’s voltaire

someone who’s name should never be mentioned to Lakers fans

    • LW

You are only going to get Hornets of last year with KW.

    • NONONO

he never thinks about pass when he attacks the rim

    • CJSHYY

      Cliff didn’t do anything…

    • cdblue10

      A bigger,taller D’Angelo with superstar qualities

    • CJSHYY

Ya! Sure mad about Batum to be #1 guy.

    • golfhacker

My Disqus isn’t working on iOS? Anyone else have that problem?

    • NONONO

      1 on 2, and 3…

    • sport

Lin always the last one to check in.

    • MorlockO

Clifford: Lin just cannot have 30 mins…

    • Dan Cohen

      hawes stks

    • LW

      Bring in the JL brothers.

    • cdblue10

what cliff, walker will play for the last 24mins

    • GoJLin!

From Lin’s first check in 1Q 2:28 to KW/Al re-check in @2Q 6:24; Lin’s 2nd Unit help the team gain back 15 points (from NYK 22-15 to CHA 38-30; We need LIN, Go JLIN GO!

    • Lx

Oh yeah, time to see some real basketball.

    • LinMad

      Lin in?

    • Lin is in with 1:52 left

    • Lx

      Yeah Coach wants some defense.

    • your son’s voltaire

the ball totally move with Lin on the floor. not surprised

    • cdblue10

      Frazier that’s Lamb not Lin…LOL

    • LW

Hope Cliff is just saving the best for last.

    • Lx

      Fisher looks like a Leprechaun

    • Lx

      :l hawes….

    • Alain Gervais

      Starters let Knicks get hot

    • sport

No thanks to Walker’s one man show.

    • Alain Gervais

lamb need to be taken off him pronto.

    • redking79

Not sure why Cliff keeps them in when things weren’t working.

    • Hornets disorganized offense gave Knicks momentum with 34-24 run in the 3rd quarter

    • cdblue10

Freezing out everyone is not a good idea at all

    • LinMad

that was horrible on Cliff. He pushed Lin to make a quick play then called Lamb to foul too early. Lin should have just dribbled the ball, let the clock run, then foul after.

    • your son’s voltaire

sorry Clifford, but Lin can’t bail your starters out all the time. i’m hoping he does it again tonight though

    • Rick Johnson

Starters lost an 8 point lead then got in a hole. Batum -20 Walker -17

    • Alain Gervais

Actually it wasn’t we had a foul to give. Knicks are just hot. Guy made to contested threes

    • NONONO

      AL+KW+Batom = -53! Cliff, high IQ????

    • heart

Bc Cliff allowed KW do a one-man iso show too long, thinking he’s hot. He forgot that while KW is doing his thing, he’s icing out everyone around him.

    • your son’s voltaire

they can’t play fast pace with Kemba on the floor, ever. i think Cho will trade him

    • Maknusia

yeah…and the 3s are not falling coupled with bad FTs as well

    • LinMad

ya but we could have just ran the clock down for the last shot. Then get a foul making the clock run down even more.

    • blubell

      NY radio is horrible.

    • Alain Gervais

      Lin causing havoc on defense

    • Lx

Surprised he didnt miss his free throws.

    • LinMad

Hawes is really bad around the rim.

    • Lx

      BAM !

    • Knicks has great ball movement, it will take good D to stop them

    • your son’s voltaire

he’s pretty good at rebounding balls that land in his lap

    • cdblue10

Lin take the band aid guy this time

    • redking79

No ball stoping Melo in there.

    • redking79

Lin trying to do too much, forced that jumper.

    • your son’s voltaire

Galloway is a pure shooter. not tonight though

    • Maknusia

and they need to nail those 3s

    • yes, we need Melo back lol

    • Lx

      Kemba is hot right now.

    • MorlockO

      Kemba on fire

    • cdblue10

      Lamb has a butterfinger

    • LinMad

Frank is pump faking too much

    • Maknusia

      yup…need to close the gap

    • NONONO

      Tank pomp too high!

    • Maknusia

      comeon guys…no more TOVs now

    • Maknusia

Knicks are knocking down with their 3s

    • redking79

Giving the Knicks extra possessions. That’s a big no no.

    • your son’s voltaire

      wth was Kemba thinking?

    • Alain Gervais

      Kemba killing the ball movement

    • MorlockO

      Knicks can;t miss?

    • Lx

ahh no ball movement. Can’t be doing that during crunch time Kemba.

    • redking79

Lin is really trying to do too much. Going one on three so Calderon could gamble on a steal.

    • MorlockO

I think Kemba is hot but he is playing too much… mental lapse there

    • Alain Gervais

I would rather Batum out there

    • sport

Take Walker out, his selfish one man show is ruining the ball movement.

    • heart

Cliff needs to let Lin be pg. KW takes everyone out of rhythm.

    • LinMad

2nd unit was fine without Kemba lol

    • cdblue10

Lin and Walker has no chemistry at all

    • Rick Johnson

Take Kemba out put Batum in.

    • your son’s voltaire

when Kemba is on the floor and hogging like he is tonight, and Lamb is also on the floor playing zero defense. it’s going to be a very long night

    • Alain Gervais

      He don’t pass.Its all iso

    • LinMad

I bet Lin will be the one punished

    • Lx

I think its better than having Batum.

    • heart

’cause KW is not sharing the rock.

    • Dan Cohen

no , they lose even more.. hornets still in because of kw.dude comeon

    • NONONO

let Lin attack! Lin’s attacks creates chances for everyone. KW only for himself

    • LinMad

nah Kemba is ruining the ball movement

    • sport

Lin needs to ask for the ball can’t just stand there.

    • Rick Johnson

No they’re still better with Batum than Kemba.

    • CJSHYY

Cliff didn’t do anything to stop Walker?

    • your son’s voltaire

Kemba just doesn’t fit this team’s style at all. worst than Big Al

    • Dan Cohen

      batum 0-5.

    • LinMad

      Lin attack mode now

    • your son’s voltaire

      man Hawes stinks!

    • LinMad

what is with Cliff not trusting Lin to run PG for 2nd unit?

    • Hawes kept blowing Lin’s assists

    • sport

      Lin should’ve taken that shot!

    • CJSHYY

      I know…smh!

    • Maknusia

need to close the 7 pts…need more X

    • Lx

      Ouch poor guy.

    • cdblue10

Take Hawes out,and this team is humming

    • your son’s voltaire

      may have a concussion

    • sport

      Hawes is horrible

    • CJSHYY

Cliff will not bc he scores….

    • redking79

Nah, Marvin Williams getting him back for last possession.

    • wow.. MWilliams drilled Amundson with his elbow
He should’ve gone for the ball by swatting to the side

    • LinMad

Marvin been having a lot of contact this game. On him and him on others.

    • your son’s voltaire

      dayum, there goes the game

    • Maknusia

      oh my!….

    • MorlockO

      game getting out of hand

    • your son’s voltaire

Porzingis over the top fouled Lin!

    • everything is going Knicks way

    • Maknusia

      there is still time…lets see

    • CJSHYY

      W Kemba as PG…

    • your son’s voltaire

      oh gawd Kemba sucks

    • MorlockO

      Kamba now sucks…

    • Kemba should stop shooting & start passing

    • your son’s voltaire

Lamb not defending, just hoping his guys don’t hit their shots

    • GoJLin!

      Go JJ Brothers!

    • Maknusia

Give it to Lamb or Lin

    • NONONO

      KW for?

    • Great save by JLin on an almost TO on batum;s bad pass

    • Alain Gervais

      Kemba iso every time

    • your son’s voltaire

      over-helping

    • redking79

Really nice drive by Kemba. He needs to do that more often instead of taking long jumpers.

    • NONONO

      ANY TIME

    • Alain Gervais

      This team looks bad

    • heart

Kemba needs to pass the ball, make plays for others on court. He’s ball hogging for his scores, but losing the game will be in vain.

    • Lin can’t over-help

    • cshot

      way too much help there

    • cshot

i think he’s gonna be pulled

    • Alain Gervais

Iso kemba second haif killed us. we have no momentum. All it does is pat Kembas stats

    • sport

He doesn’t care about winning just wants to get the highest score to not get outshined.

    • NONONO

      Lin over help!

    • golfhacker

Why does Lin leave his man? What’s he going to do against Anthony?

    • can’t leave Galloway so open there

    • CJSHYY

Ya! No one get the ball but Kemba. smh!

    • cdblue10

He’s trying to win the game by himself,he forgot he has other 4 players around him

    • redking79

Lin playing with too much emotion, trying to show up the Knicks. He’s not playing smart.

    • Maknusia

      he wont listen 🙂

    • LinMad

well Lin hasn’t changed the overhelp yet so I think maybe that is Clifford’s idea

    • heart

Possession after possession we kept seeing Kemba doing one man show. Sick of this.

    • NONONO

big mistake, try to do too much

    • CJSHYY

What a boring game he gave us… smh!

    • sport

Kemba doing the same ball hogging Batum has been doing. When will Lin get to do the same thing?

    • Alain Gervais

Lamb getting beat often as well. Bigs cant rebound

    • Pete Roces

Its all on Clifford letting KW ruin the team chemistry, whats the point of playing one against five?

    • MorlockO

game plan is to double anthony at everytime he touches the ball

    • Hornets O is dysfunctional; not sure if they can catch up

    • Rick Johnson

Starters sucked from start bench brought them back. Starters lost it again. Bench can’t get it back when ball not in Lin’s hands

    • LinMad

I guess cause batum proved last game he can shoot, now it’s kemba’s turn..

    • NONONO

Lin should focus on offense and defend his man only!

    • CJSHYY

I agree it’s Cliff’s fault to let Kemba do all the ISO game all night long.

    • Lx

Tired of seeing this James Harden crap every season.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Nop this is a loss game since JLin has barely touched the ball.

    • GoJLin!

Last run lead by 2nd unit was without KW

    • your son’s voltaire

dayum, Lin getting frugal on the hair gel

    • Lx

      GO LIN!

    • Nice floater, JLin!!!!!!

    • your son’s voltaire

what’s up with Lamb not even putting his hands up on defense??

    • John Focker

Kemba 31 pts ONE ast. End of story.

    • LinMad

      comeback!

    • MorlockO

      nope kemba just ruined it

    • your son’s voltaire

my fantasy league opponent this week has Kemba 🙁

    • sport

Please take Walker out he’s not passing at all!

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Really dislike Kemba game. Too much of isos. Thought he is pg and playmaker.

    • Hornets 6-0 run to cut it to 91-98 with 4 min left

    • LinMad

Kemba is shooting way too much, I think he’s going for 40 points

    • cdblue10

      Walker,Walker,Walker,Walker and Walker….that’s the team in 2nd half…SMH

    • NONONO

TAKE KW OUT!!! he did bad more than good. – 16 only ONE ast as PG in 34 mins?

    • heart

Again, Kemba stop it! Pass the ball to keep Knicks off balance. You can’t win the game by yourself.

    • Alain Gervais

      Not really

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Not going to win with Kemba in the midst. He is the one who kills everyone momentum.

    • kauaiblue

jeremy had a great stat line at half. why did clifford bring him back so late?

    • sport

Walker went 12-21 shots this game!! 21 FGA attempts!!

    • MorlockO

      9th man

    • he stubbornly stuck to his starter rotation for most Q3, giving momentum to Knicks

    • sport

Not valued by Hornets what else?

    • heart

Kemba is really icing out everyone and Batum especially. He’s still only w/ 1 pt.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

The game is lost with Cliff and Kemba.

    • LinMad

Some Hornets fans are saying that Kemba is doing a good job and most his shots are wide open…but…hes’ only wide open cause he’s rushing his shot and he’s killing the team chemistry.

    • GoJLin!

one man with 21 shots & he is the PG, no wonder they loss!

    • Lx

      Lamb what the heck?

    • Kemba tried to pass to JLin. That’s good

    • cdblue10

      Baboom

    • Nice 3 by Batum, 94-98

    • MorlockO

      There we go

    • Maknusia

      comeon guys…4pt game!

    • redking79

Refs giving Melo a hometown call.

    • MorlockO

      Lol Melo playing defense…

    • Alain Gervais

      No one scoring

    • cdblue10

can’t buy a bucket their al

    • your son’s voltaire

looks like Hornets isolating Lin from the ball haha

    • cdblue10

      they’ll all frozed out

    • kauaiblue

what will it take to make him learn you WIN with lin??

    • Rick Johnson

Batum should have passed on that contested 3.

    • John Focker

      Getting fired.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

      It’s his mentality.

    • your son’s voltaire

yup. not a good time for a heat check shot

    • MorlockO

yup lin barely gets touches for the whole 4th quarter

    • With 1 min left, Hornets need 1 stop then design a play to attack the rim or get FTs to stop the clock

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Going to lose with close game if this continues.

    • redking79

Not sure what Cliff said 5:53 ago but it’s working because the Hornets are playing great defense.

    • Lx

This is the last chance. I think thats game.

    • your son’s voltaire

      Lamb forcing a shot sigh

    • cshot

      dumb shot by lamb

    • NONONO

Cliff is insane to play KW for 38 mins for -16

    • Alain Gervais

      Cant make a shot.

    • cdblue10

      selfish basketball

    • redking79

Hornets scorers are not clutch – Batum, Lamb missing big shots.

    • cshot

      game

    • kauaiblue

stupid team. they can’t even hit the rim. give it to jlin!

    • JW

crazy Lin not getting any touches

    • cdblue10

no time out, brain fart from the coach

    • sport

Lin iced out by teammates again.

    • your son’s voltaire

damnit Kemba for hogging the ball, Batum for sucking so bad, Lamb for no defense

    • Hornets had poor execution shooting bad 3s

    • golfhacker

      hero ball

    • kauaiblue

glad knicks won. clifford bad decisions.

    • Lx

Hornets lost an easy win because Kemba and Batum can’t pass the ball.

    • BobbyH

      Heroball == LOSS

    • Alain Gervais

      That killed everything

    • LinMad

was Lin mad at Lamb for that airball?

    • cdblue10

Kemba decided to takeover the game, not incorporating his teammates

    • Alain Gervais

      Batum barely got the ball

    • Rick Johnson
    • cshot

please kemba….you’re not m. jordan… you don’t have the ability to win games by yourself

    • NONONO

I know Lin would get 30- mins – because the game is too close all game, Too bad, Cliff should let him play PG!!!

    • JW

Why were Hornets shooting long outside shots w/ so much time left.

    • kauaiblue

i understand how this coach benches him for an hour and then expects him to deliver the whole 4th!

    • This is why the Hornets lost this game: No adjustment in the 3rd quarter allowing struggling starters + iso-Kemba to stay in.
OTOH Knicks played great team basketball

    • LW

      This is old news.

    • your son’s voltaire

      Lamb isn’t very smart

    • heart

KW iso all night. Batum made bad decisions 2 last possessions when they were w/in 4. He should have drove to the basket.

    • Lx

well when he did, he just tossed it up during the most important point of the game.

    • Dan Cohen

      i missed that play..what happe

    • LinMad

I can’t believe this coach let Kemba shoot 21 times

    • kauaiblue

      just chucked an airball.

    • cdblue10

      Shut up Melo you schmuck

    • Pete Roces

Kemba Walker won the game for NYK, best player of the game.

    • your son’s voltaire

forced a 3 with 45 seconds left on the clock and down just 4 points

    • John Focker

To reward myself for not throwing away hundreds of dollars on NBA League Pass, I’m gonna go have ramen for lunch. 🙂

    • Charlie S

So the Hornets out iso’d the Knicks?

    • JW

This one is one the coach. Letting KM do too much ISO at the end still

    • zxcvb

Too much selfishness by Kemba and Batum. Not enough defense by those two.

Lin iced after a hot first half. Teammates need to stop being selfish dolts and play some defense. Lin can’t defend all five guys every possession…not enough IQ on this team outside of Lin.

    • Dan Cohen

but he kept us in the game.. he wasn’t completely Iso..he was feeling it..
I can picture lin doing the same thing and we won’t have a problem with it

if you gonna blame blame batum and hawes…and zeller.

    • kauaiblue

actually, im glad knicks won. only a losing streak will make this coach realize the magic of jlin…

    • John Focker

May ISOball ALWAYS lose (it usually does).

    • NONONO

      AL+KW+Batum=-48

    • MorlockO

13 team assists lol this is why we lost. knicks has 22

    • JW

Might’ve been ok if Kemba or Batum try to drive in and get foul. but they were shooting outside shots. stupid

    • Lx

Watch, next game the hornets are going to have nice ball movement and everyone is going to be unselfish. After that game they are going to return to their terrible habits. This is going to go on throughout the whole season.

    • Alain Gervais

Lin played 28 minutes even though the second haif minutes was watching Kemba shoot

    • your son’s voltaire

this is the result when you let one guy get 31 points but with just 1 assist playing 38 freakin minutes of hogball

    • Pete Roces

Clifford just wasted a winnable game by letting KW play hero ball

    • heart

      Yep. That’s what I said.

    • zxcvb

Terrible coaching again. Not enough Lin, too much everyone else.

    • Knicks’ team-ball > Hornets street-ball

Knicks deserved to win this game.

    • NONONO

NO 50% pizza for Hornets fans – blame on Cliff!

    • Dan Cohen

      i don’t know..ask yourself.

    • Alain Gervais

Knicks played way better team wise then us and SHOCKER!!, They have Melo.

    • John Focker

Kemba’s -17, he only kept himself in the game.

    • kauaiblue

Actually, Im rooting for a losing streak if JLin played like this… ridiculous!

    • Pete Roces

Designated play by Clifford, let KW do all the stuff, u guys just watch and clap

    • occupatio

i almost bought courtside tickets to this game. glad i didnt.

    • kauaiblue

Porzinga being interviewed at MSG. Miss when JLin was there,

    • LW

The +/- box score tells the whole story for Hornets: starters inferior to bench. Bench win for the team but starters lose it.

    • NONONO

      and with +- – 17

    • JW

coach I think really wanted KW to win the game for them. Just goes away from what they’ve been preaching this whole time.
Batum got his, Al got his. KW was suppose to get his glory today. Didn’t happen.

    • Dan Cohen

but everyone else is like mssing shots..even lin can’t help there.

    • Alain Gervais

Kemba -17 way to much to over come. Well organized teams will beat us often. especially if he starts the third with Lin

    • zxcvb

Same old Clifford. Stuck in the ’90s, thinking Kemba and Al can play lead a team to victory.

When Kemba or Al scores 30, it means NOTHING. It’s only good for them. When Lin scores even 20, it means EVERYTHING. Because he always uses his own success to get others involved.

When Lin has hot tonight…the Hornets were up. When Kemba was hot…the Knicks went up. Terrible, racial coaching needs to end. I’m out…so sick of this.

    • JW

There were a lot of nice plays from Lin in the 1st half though. would’ve still been good to see that live

    • Pete Roces

I thought Clifford is a good coach?!

    • John Focker

Hornets should be 9-2 at top of EC (2x Hawks, 1x Bulls, 1x Knicks) but instead are 5-6.

Oh well, job’s Clifford’s to throw away.

    • kauaiblue

Yeah, I’m glad I didn’t wast too much time and money by not watching too much today.

    • JW

Yea. he disappointed me with his play calls today at the end

    • your son’s voltaire

i shall now and forever refer to him as isoKemba

    • LinMad

Batum got 35 minutes on a horrible night.

    • Pete Roces

Nobody in NBA will buy that theory, its all about Iso’ s and hero ball.

    • kauaiblue

      He has no clue.

    • JW

He had really good percentage earlier though. coach I guess wanted to ride that thru.

    • Alain Gervais

SF has no depth so yes

    • kauaiblue

      Glad they lost.

    • your son’s voltaire

in the first quarter but they trailed by 7 points

    • Alain Gervais

When the Leading assist guys are two guys on the bench. Lol Lin had three the first haif. He also finished with three

    • adele

      Wow! Clifford.

    • LinMad

If Lin was PG, we would have had more assists and better ball movement than Kemba

    • your son’s voltaire

if LIn was the PG, Batum would have made more than 1 bucket

    • GoJLin!

NY 3PM-A 10-20, CHA 5-20; NY AST 22 vs. CHA 13; when 2nd Unit first time in to save the team, KW is not with them. Well, it is what it is; wish Lin keep good spirit & good health!

    • LinMad

Lamb woould have made better shot attempts too

    • heart

Whenever KW starts shooting a lot, high probability the game will be lost. This was discussed at the hive sometime ago on the show.

    • adele

      Believe

    • cdblue10

Hornets is riding a wrong guy

    • Singapore BB Fan

Charlotte Hornets don’t deserve to win this game.
Batum’s head is too big for his shoulders and

    • Alain Gervais

      Batum barley touched the ball.

    • Guest

No need to make judgememt. Kick played well. cC had other good games too

    • your son’s voltaire

i hope FO was watching the same game we all saw today. they really need to do something about isoKemba

    • Alain Gervais

At this rate we will not make the playoffs.

    • Maknusia

I still think they played okay..this is the first time seeing a 9 man rotations. As fans requested, Lin got to play his first 28min!

I still think the chemistry is still not there within the rotations that CC placed on the floor.

As for LIn he was great the first half, but he was too motivated on defensive end and over helping and forget this offesive side of the game. Batum’s shot was not falling hence he took only 9 only shots…whereas Lin was aggressive and had good game going, he just over helped and forced fed to Hawes, even his shot was not falling.

There were couple of offensive opportunity, where Lin could have continued his first half aggressions.

Overall I’m okay with today’s rotation and let the chemistry build on it….it takes tie even for Lin to understand the players he is gonna play with. SO let it gel…..overall Lin did well had had the 4th highest minutes and ending with plus3

    • LinMad

The only good thing that came out of this game was Lin got 28 minutes.

    • Singapore BB Fan

Kemba Walker wants to outshine JLin at the MGS – birth place of Linsanity!

    • cdblue10

It’s not Batum fault,Walker was the one dug their grave since he came back in on the 2q with his selfish basketball

    • sport

Walker’s ball hog lost this game he went 12-21!! http://www.nba.com/games/20151117/CHANYK/gameinfo.html?ls=eref:google:1b:live

    • your son’s voltaire

      not bad stats either

      my thoughts:

I’m slowly coming around on the idea of Jeremy Lin & lamb starting. they constantly get us out of holes, I think the team would be more balanced w them starting & kemba as the sixth man.

    • JW

not sure about that. He realize that his teammates are selfish and doesn’t trust him

    • cdblue10

I just considered 1t 14mins due to his usage.

    • your son’s voltaire

i bet he’s real upset with himself for signing with this team

    • takemeback2reaganyears

10 of that running back an forth defense.

    • LinMad

thats not bad shooting but it ruins ball movement and other players shooting selection.

    • CJSHYY

I think Cliff & Kemba are teams up bc last game Batum got above 30 this game kemba had to make it above 30. smh!

    • I am The Jason

Clifford really needs to move Batum to his natural position of small forward. I would have had Lamb starting instead of Zeller. Also there seems to be very little assist with this team lately. I blame the first unit. I just don’t understand Clifford sometimes. At least Lin played more than 25 min.

    • NONONO

      i am 100% for it!

    • heart

yep. KW Iso killed the momentum and gave Knicks the run.

    • your son’s voltaire

this is what Lin fans have been suggesting all along!

    • adele

      Great coaching.

    • blubell

Only half of those minutes were quality.

    • sport

Getting a taste of his own medicine. Both Batum and Walker only care about their own stats. If Lin wants to be an All-Star he needs to learn how to play selfish and look out for himself because his teammates are going to ice him out.

    • cdblue10

      ^This

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Lin and Lamb were lost when Kemba on the floor.

Hornets will finish season 41-41, miss playoffs.

    • Alain Gervais

IF coach is smart he must know The starters (mostly Kemba) lost this game. Going with Kemba, Lin, and Lamb lineup was not smart. Batum would be better. Even tough he was off. He picks his spots better then Kemba. Like the last time we faced the Knicks

    • LinMad

Ya what is with Batum shooting so many times last game and then now Kemba shooting a lot. What happened to team ball?

    • your son’s voltaire

yup. just like how they do it in the first quarter. if either Kemba or Batum doesn’t get enough shots, one of them play the whole first quarter and take shots away from the second unit. sigh

    • golfhacker

      Unfortunately, will NEVER happen 🙁

    • LinMad

the next 3 or so games should be easy

    • NONONO

Poor Lin, you do not even have chance (as PG) to pull Hornets out of hole in 4Q!!!

    • Alain Gervais

issue is its all Kembas fault. Not that he is trying to lose but his iso style don’t work with this team (or any team really). 1 assistt in 38 minutes for a PG is horrible

    • your son’s voltaire

he tried but it’s extremely difficult when your own teammates are dragging you down with them

    • NONONO

he did not play as PG in 4Q

    • LinMad

Next game Cliff should allow Lin to be the main PG, play however he likes, gets the green light to playmake and score. Then assess how Batum played, Kemba played, and Lin played and decide who gets how many minutes.

    • Alain Gervais

Lin goes crazy we get a 10 plus lead. Kemba goes crazy and we lose

    • golfhacker

The coach is enabling Kemba, Batum. Until that changes, expect to be frustrated all season.

    • your son’s voltaire

Lin is a 2-way player. this team needs more of guys like him

    • sport

Teamball was just PR talk every player who wants to be the star player looks out for themselves. Lin needs to take more shots for himself.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! But I don’t get why Cliff continued to allow Kemba ISO all game?

    • NONONO

Thank you nickforthreee to tell Horents fans feeling.

    • adele

      Why do you think?

    • your son’s voltaire

i guess Cliffart still doesn’t believe in the power of Jeremy Lin

    • adele

      In your dreams.

    • Maknusia

first game with 9man rotation with KW as the lead….i’m fine, when Batum’s shots was not falling

    • Alain Gervais

again I’m fine with Batum. He is a team player even tough he takes bad shots. He controls the tempo better then Kemba

    • Lx

He should already know. He is just a bad coach or there is some politics going on. Its one of the two.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

It’s so bad at coach decision to play Hawes too long even 17 min. I don’t care if he can shoot which he cannot, 3 ef&^% rebounds from that 7 footer big man? Embarrassing.

    • LinMad

      ur right

    • Chopz

      He couldn’t even outshine porzingis

    • cdblue10

I think Batum is a good teammate for Lin if he will play unselfishly because of his shooting and passing ability as long as he will trust Lin to handle the ball.Kemba I’ve seen this kind of player before, can’t carry a team even if he’ll score 50 points..no spark or impact on the team even if he made baskets.

    • CJSHYY

Batum didn’t get the ball no wonder he couldn’t shoot well in 1-3Q.

    • heart

      or both.

    • Maknusia

CC is making adjustments…we could see from the rotation lineups and the minutes…its not to our liking or perfect but he is making some adjustments

    • Alain Gervais

His Pg skills are bad. He cant control the temp nor can he get people easier shots

    • Chopz

batum was missing in action. if lin had a game like that, it would be hysteria and people would be ripping lin to pieces.

    • sport

ball hogger who only looks to score but is seen as the “fake star” of the team go figure. Seems like every team has those time of players and it’s really up to Lin to look out for his own points.

    • LinMad

The Lamb/Lin combo first half was really good. I don’t know why coach has to insert kemba and batum with lamb and lin. it just squelches lamb and lin from doing good.

    • golfhacker

Let’s face it, as long as Kemba is here and Batum is SG, Jeremy is going to be jerked around. He’ll be lucky to average 25 haphazard minutes.

    • your son’s voltaire

he’s good if he’s plays as the secondary facilitator not as a primary facilitator like he always do when he’s on the floor with Lin

    • CJSHYY

Ya! Batum is better than Kemba. Now I know why all the backup PGs only stayed one year in Hornets.

    • One good news .. Lin had 28 min, the most PT as a Hornet LOL

If he played 5 min more in Q3, Hornets would’ve won since the ball would move more, not stop at Kemba

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Not adjustment, it’s called confuse.

    • heart

KW wanted to be his night, after seeing Batum shined last game. His selfishness is surfacing.

    • cdblue10

Not only that,he can’t energized the whole team with his brand of basketball

    • your son’s voltaire

      only cus PJ was out

    • Alain Gervais

      yep

    • LinMad

and if he does get 25 minutes, half of his minutes ends of wasted from watching Kemba or Batum play

    • golfhacker

i’m still waiting for Batum to make ONE pass to Jeremy.

    • Singapore BB Fan

Maybe Phil Jackson was right not to take JLin back to MSG afterall…
      NYK can do without JLin…

Cliff, keep up your good works!

    • Lx

Kemba would have got his stats if he just move the ball with Jeremy Lin.

    • Maknusia

Overall…I still think they played okay..this is the first time seeing a 9 man rotations.

There were couple oaaf offensive opportunity, where Lin could have continued his first half aggressions.

The things that made us lost was FTs at 68% vs 95% from Knicks and 3Pointers at 25%! vs 50% from Knicks

Overall I’m okay with today’s rotation and let the chemistry build on it….it takes tie even for Lin to understand the players he is gonna play with. SO let it gel…..overall Lin did well had had the 4th highest minutes and ending with plus3

    • 1mtoldman

good game for lin good news for lin fans not for hornet fans. lin gets the most minutes he’s gotten all regular season; shoots well (if he’d made that last short lane jumper would have been great but still) 4 for 9 after 4 for 16 in last 2 games; also 5 rebounds 3 assists 13 points. 5 of 6 on ft;s.

will really boost his ratings up after 2 very negative effect games.

he moves from last game dropping to contesting with hawes for 9th man to 5th man this one.

can’t expect clifford, walker or anyone else for that matter to be other than what/who they are but this game was good (again) for lin’s numbers.

lin comes back in shooting %; gets his minutes (complaints about how he’s used in those minutes are petty when he has not been getting minutes, he can’t do anything if he isn’t on the court, at least if he’s allowed on the court there is always the possibility of him doing something); stat pads pretty well, only thing negative would be the 2 turnovers and still not hitting threes but that is marginal compared to the other stuff.

    • Chopz

      lil harden, mini harden.

    • JW

might not be good news. They’ll say Lin got the minutes and still lost.

    • CJSHYY

Exactly. Just like first game vs NYK he got benched in 4Q next game it’s Lin. Cliff really works for Kemba. smh!

    • LinMad

they are a much better team now but they won’t be a championship contender yet

    • sport

Selfishness is contagious, not to mention his no.1 spot is being taken by Batum who also plays selfish.

    • cdblue10

Batum can give you a momentum basket, that force from 3 is a coach mistake for not calling a timeout

    • Alain Gervais

Kemba cant be a starting PG in the Nba. Thats my conclusion

    • cdblue10

      Exactly

    • DX

      Batum 35 mins 1-9 4 pts
      WM 30 mins 1-4, 2 pts
      Kaminsky 24 mins 1-5, 2 pts

These 3 mostly cased this loss. Why didn’t let someone else shoot in last 3 minutes?

    • GoodDayLA

      wrong

    • LinMad

ya Lin was not 9th man today. He was more like a 6th man but still…Kemba was a little heavy on the shooting and did not share the ball much with anyone

    • 1mtoldman

thats been the conclusion of hornets fans for some time.

    • Chopz

been nice if you coulda just bought tickets for the first half : )

    • Alain Gervais

      I actually like kaminsky’s minutes

    • Lx

Coach probably kept him in so his hornets wouldn’t get blown out by the Knicks.

    • joyce ward

Pretty much predicted this was going to be a Kemba night after Batum got #3 points and the Eastern conference player of the week. Also I don’t think lin is upset. He has seen worse and he knows the dill by now. He is just playing his game

    • LinMad

Kaminsky played good d. So did Marvin. Not sure about batum.

    • your son’s voltaire

Batum with a forced 3, Lamb with a forced 3, Kemba with a forced midrange. none for Lin at crunchtime

oh and Kemba hogging the ball all game

    • LAJane

Well at last! Disqus just wouldn’t load for the whole game! Cleared cache, reloaded a zillion times, restarted computer, shut down computer and turned on again. Nada. But amazing…here it is at last. Could only follow the play-by-play on nba site. Looked like Lin started out well, but it all went astray. Kemba’s high score did not look good for a win…will love to skim through all your posts to see what went wrong.
P.S. the posters over At The Hive were tearing their hair out over Hawes.

    • Rzo Vlade

      miss the game highlights pls…….

    • GoodDayLA

this game was terrible. Lin is used completely wrong. Clifford lacks the guts to bench Kemba, who is like -16 for the game.

      yeah he got 30 points.

      Look at the score board.

In Kembas defense, Lin was horrible in San Antonio and did the same thing.

But Lin is a backup PG playing backup SG. I am dumbfounded.

I’d rather Clifford just bench Lin and let Lin play 10 minutes per half of real PG. But that seems to be too tall a task for Clifford.

    • 1mtoldman

good game for lin stat wise he needed; 13/5/3/ 4 of 9 after 4 of 16 last two games. most minutes he’s played all regular season. all encouraging.

    • Chopz

jury still out on that. action speaks louder than words. we’ll believe it when we see him passing the rock more, especially to lin.

    • your son’s voltaire

isoKemba: oh wow, you got player of the week. that must feel great…

    • Chopz

      And then I woke up.

    • Alain Gervais

Kemba getting hot was probably the worst thing for this team.

    • adele

This is the kind of play they have. We have to be patient. Its still 11 games.

    • LinMad

Cliff will figure it out the more we lose. He will put politics aside if he wants to keep his job.

    • cdblue10

They’re on the game but clifford didn’t call a timeout when they needed a basket

    • Whitman Lam

Nets just beat the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

    • cdblue10

      absolutely

    • Yascar

Had the same problem. Thought it was just me!

    • Alain Gervais

Am i the only one in complete amazement of Lins defense. Except for that one play where his guy got a three. he was exceptional. Hornets de=idnt let knicks score for 6 minutes. All kemba had to do was pick his spots better

    • Whitman Lam

They’re trying to squeeze Batum into the shooting guard spot, because that’s the plan when MKG comes back.

    • golfhacker

Were you using an Apple product? I couldn’t get Disqus on my iPhone the whole game.

    • Chopz

Kemba, Batum, and Hawes went wrong. Porzingis went right. Kemba ball hogged and got his, Batum bricklayed a new house, and Hawes – well I don’t need to say anything.

    • CJSHYY

He will not get it. They lose. LOL!

    • heart

In this game, between the two rookies, Porz and Kaminsky. Porz showed confidence and a star in the making w/Knicks’ and its fan support. Knicks org and Fisher are setting Porz up for success. Kaminsky needs confidence in his game. He can get there eventually, but needs much more work. Hornets and Cliff need to help Kam.

    • LinMad

If Cliff wanted to win,, he should have drew some Lin penetration plays at the end. PnR too

    • takemeback2reaganyears

3 points dif out of free throws. The key was assists 13 to 22, that’s the key to success. Team distribution.

    • cdblue10

i saw that, aflalo disappeared when Lin was guarding him

    • LinMad

ya he needs to stop pump faking and driving in. That’s not his butter.

    • heart

Yep. There were no call out to draw up plays. SMH. Cliff kept letting KW isos.

    • LinMad

well he gambled with that and we lost

    • your son’s voltaire

yup. Lin pnr plays will net you 60% chance of scoring every time

    • LinMad

i thought it was galloway that hit that 3

    • Alain Gervais

Lamb was on him late. which i thought was a mistake but he did well.

    • Alain Gervais

      it was.

    • heart

How many more times will we have to suffer through this? SMH.

    • Linzen

Yup. Lin PnR instead of two ugly Batum 3 at the last minute

    • Maknusia

agree…13 to 22 was bad as well

    • LAJane

I think I agree…but I’m just not sure about the over-helping. Isn’t it possible that he has specific coach instructions? He has his own natural aggression, and he hates to lose…I could be wrong, of course…but I’ve never been able to get myself to believe the helping is all his own idea.

    • Alain Gervais

      No PNR

    • cdblue10

yeah it was gallo but Alain was referring to Lin’s defense overall

    • GoodDayLA

did you watch closely? It was simple.

Lin did well = backup PG and +15 on the floor.

Lin did nothing = backup SG next to Kemba. ends with small +3.

he was lucky he got those 4 points to end the second quarter with the jumper and foul on the fast break when he was playing SG.

It’s easy to see but the hornets need glasses I guess.

    • your son’s voltaire

he should have let Lin run the plays at crunch time. win/win

    • I am The Jason

Porzingis starts and plays every game. The Knicks are grooming him for the future. Kaminsky is lucky to play in a game. The Hornets are grooming Kaminsky too slow. Clifford keep saying Kaminsky gets pushed around. Kaminsky needs more battle experience to handle that and it is not happening.

    • Maknusia

unfortunately…at times we have to work with what we have

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Many times Lin attacked the basket while his teammates were still far beyond the arc.

    • GoodDayLA

its a shame he is playing backup SG.

    • FSW

young team, still searching for chemistry and mutual trust.
Clifford still experimenting with his line ups.
hope it gets better and Lin will get consistent minutes from this point on.

    • adele

We have to be patient. Its only 11 games?

    • GoodDayLA

Clifford does a great job of using Lin as baseline 3 dummy like Mchale did.

    • Alain Gervais

A few Line ups worked. Kemba starting third with Lin is a no good. Prefer Batum

    • Linzen

It didn’t load for me too! 🙁
      Hawes… SMH

    • heart

      ok. thanks for reminding me.

    • LAJane

sigh. you could be right. Sort of getting the teamball idea…but not really.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

It was the iso Kemba on his time on the court that caused the loss. His iso games iced out every player on the court. Wonder whether he has any playmaker skill at all.

    • leeda harun

Same old things. When your coach depends on kw, batum, al only to win games..this bound to happened

    • your son’s voltaire

Clifford needs to make the guys push the pace on every possession, and pass the ball for better shots, plus help defense

    • cdblue10

I think their best line up is,Zeller,Williams,Batum,Lin and Lamb

    • leeda harun

kw and batum as all star nominee…..the jealousy

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Well we only can hope and wish. Would like Kemba to play less minutes.

    • LAJane

      haha…that was a narrow escape!

    • Chopz

It’s like I wanted my cake, and to eat it too. Would have been nice if Lin and the hornets won, but at least he finally got some darn minutes. Wasn’t used well in second half of those minutes though, cuz harden, I mean kemba put on a one man show.

    • FSW

      agree

    • Acbc

This situation smells more and more like GM pulling the strings behind the scenes to promote his guys. Cho’s job is on the line for all the money he’s spent on Batum and Walker. He can’t have Lin who’s Clifford’s pick be the star that stole the show. CHO becomes the inept GM and his analytics becomes useless. It’s Morey all over again and Lin is only useful to make Batum and Walker shine.

The box score says it all ISO Walker getting his. Hornets had about half of the assist that the Knicks had 24-13 (?). Knicks , come on, Melo’s team had double Hornets! So much for teamwork and sharing the ball.

    • CJSHYY

He will not bc he wanted to win this game all by himself in MSG. smh! So happy they lose the game.

    • golfhacker

He’s supposed to be a stretch 4, but for some reason passes up the open jumper and clumsily attacks the rim.

    • your son’s voltaire

only because PJ is still injured

    • FSW

just about anything without hawes for now, don’t get what coach sees in him

    • leeda harun

      they have porzingis now

    • LAJane

ya…iMac. I find that iPhone screen is just too small for game satisfaction 🙂

    • your son’s voltaire

i think it’s the other way around

    • cdblue10

Not even a cringe worthy on this guy, just a waste and eating up a lot of space on offense

    • Linzen

Clifford: Jeremy, stretch the floor for me…. yup just stand right there.

    • CJSHYY

Ya! Porz is good & also got the support from Org.

    • LinMad

I think Lin got his minutes today cause the media backlash on Lin’s limited minutes hurts the franchise more than Kemba or Batum not performing to their contract.

    • Chopz

Bummer the hornets lost, but hey, at least my pistons won against the cavs. Andre Drummond with another monster game: 25 points, 18 rebounds.

    • leeda harun

They come from the same club……80-90 old school

    • JLin Fan from Australia

In the beginning I prefer Kemba and not Batum. But now I prefer Batum and not Kemba. Seem like these two reversed their roles in icing out JLin.

    • golfhacker

There must have been something wrong with iOS and Disqus. I had to logon to my PC to post/read comments. But yeah, Disqus on my iPhone is working now.

    • CJSHYY

Haha! Like I said Kemba’s blog just PR. He talked beautifully but acted ugly on court. smh!

    • joyce ward

Bingo. I believe that is exactly what’s happening

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Let him continue to experience until Hornets have to say bye bye to playoffs.

    • LinMad

ya I even saw Cliff gesture to spread the floor out when Kemba had the ball.

    • Chopz

neither of them pass to lin, so I prefer neither.

    • JLin Fan from Australia
    • joyce ward

One good thing about this team, are the fans are not stupid. They know the bench is outplaying the starters

    • JLin Fan from Australia
    • GoodDayLA

no i still believe Clifford is pro Lin but afraid to coach properly because he will lose his job if he tries to win at all costs. however i am upset with Clifford because he is pandering to something I believe he knows won’t work. IN the end, he’ll lose his job that way too.

    • Alain Gervais
    • LAJane

Since Disqus wasn’t loading for me, I bit the bullet and checked in on the At The Hive game thread. Amazingly, there were some folks there commenting on Jeremy’s great defense! (Also just desperate about Hawes being awful. )

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yes that I agree wholeheartedly in general. They have the similar amaze and wonder as we are:-)

    • Alain Gervais
    • GoodDayLA

empty SG corner hiding minutes are worthless. I’d rather he sit on the bench and keep his PER higher.

    • Alain Gervais
    • LinMad

i hope so but something I read makes me believe they really liked Kemba’s play today. I think Kemba shot well but he didn’t involve anyone else and those free throws he missed could have won us the game.

    • Alain Gervais
    • Alain Gervais
    • Rick Johnson

Lin needs a PnR rim protecting big. Lin and Drummond would be great.

    • bolero

      it’s all KW in 4Q

    • LinMad

but too bad he isn’t being asked to do anything when Kemba is in

    • your son’s voltaire

Nate makes $2 Mil per year vs isoKemba at $12 Mil per year!

    • Rick Johnson
    • CJSHYY
    • JLin Fan from Australia

      He isn’t there himself.

    • LinMad

Kemba was there only. He forgot he had a team.

    • LAJane

Of course you’re gonna hear Kemba love, ’cause he’s been their guy for a while and is the MJ anointed one. But if you keep looking you’ll find plenty of criticism. Disqus lock-out forced me over to At The Hive game thread tonight and I was actually pleasantly surprised by more critical Hornets fans than I expected.

    • Rzo Vlade

      I smell a trade coming up …….

    • Alain Gervais

Hopefully he notice the truth. Stats are piling up

    • your son’s voltaire

some serious discussion on twitterverse lol

    • Chopz

If you’re a poor man’s Isiah Thomas, you “would” have a shot. Otherwise you’re just poor. Isiah Thomas scored 25 points in one quarter one time, and another time he scored 16 points in 91 seconds. To top it off, he’s got 2 rings. Kemba ain’t no Isiah Thomas, not even close.

    • Acbc

So true! Fans are so great so far. They aren’t brainwashed like Houston or LA. Like I said, more positive things have been said about Lin in 2 months than all of last 3 years combined. I’ll take that. Lin still has a chance to get the fans on side to make the changes.

    • GoodDayLA

      nope

    • I am The Jason

Just the starting unit. The 2nd unit showed up.

    • GoodDayLA

sorry Cliff, the only one not there is YOU Coach.

    • Alain Gervais

Actually he did good on defense. Who knew kemba would get tunnel vision.

    • GoodDayLA

LOL we wrote the same thing

    • Rzo Vlade

yep…..dont know who it is but trade is coming

    • Ulysses Modder

Lin’s problem is not minutes but play with Kemba and Batum.

    • leeda harun

      wait till 12/15…if theres is a trade…lol

    • LinMad

      coach trade for MDA?

    • CJSHYY

      Well said. LOL!

    • Rzo Vlade

no its not jlin but others

    • your son’s voltaire

nah, Cliffart needs the wins to save his own career. plus, coaches are in the driver’s seat when it comes to decisions on the floor

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Kemba was there for he thought he was the ONLY one there to play the game. He forgot he had teammates.

    • Rzo Vlade

other player will be trade do not know who it is

    • JLin Fan from Australia

      LOLOLOL For a change!

    • CJSHYY

I think he’s on Kemba side after tonight I am even more sure about that… Kemba was ISO from 1Q to the end… Cliff had tons of chances to stop him but Cliff didn’t do it. smh!

    • Alain Gervais

He did great with Batum last time

    • LinMad

the coach made a mistake at the end of 3rd qtr by requesting Lin to make a quick play instead of running the clock down. Then he wanted to quickly use a foul which was still enough time left for the Knicks to make a 3.

    • Dan Cohen

      zamm that’s harsh

    • CJSHYY

      Exactly. Such a lousy coach.

    • Rick Johnson

I think he plays well with Batum when Batum plays his natural position at SF. It’s Kemba or Roberts playing PG that takes the ball out of Lin’s hands. Lin can hold his own as SG but at PG he makes the rest of the team better and that’s how he’s special.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

For now JLin doesn’t have much problem with Batum, it’s more with Kemba.

    • Rick Johnson

      Exactly

    • John Focker

If it’s smells like BS and sounds like BS…

    • Linzen

      I smell trades coming up….

      🙂

    • Dan Cohen

I think stupid people can even see that..stupid is not a criteria for not seeing it.. lin hater is a criteria for not seeing it because lin is part of the bench.

    • GoodDayLA

I agree 100%. ni Batum is very good and not a ball hog.

Kamba is not that good. SO scoring for himself inefficiently is all he knows.

    • John Focker

Not like it’s Clifford’s first year with Kemba…

    • Ulysses Modder

Because it was he or Batum with the ball in his hands.

Add Kemba, is Kemba or Batum with the ball in his hands and Lin in the corner.

    • Dan Cohen

who are they talking about ..kemba?? dude that’s bad.. that’s their own player.

    • CJSHYY

He’s the same old school coach & not good either.

    • Alain Gervais

Its the first year they are playing this style.

    • Dan Cohen

      Ouch.. omg stop it..
on the other hand.. good think it’s not some asian guy saying it.. else othes will say he doesn’t know jack and is only a lof.

    • Linzen

I still think minutes is the main problem. If Jeremy has consistent minutes, he will excel with both of them.

    • leeda harun

Kw want to be a player of the week too…lol

    • GoodDayLA

I think these twitter people are talking about Boston’s IT. They probably don’t even know Detroit had an IT

    • your son’s voltaire

i’m pretty certain Cho will try to trade isoKemba for a 3&D SG with good size. or a capable PNR big

    • BobbyH

No, no, no. You were exactly there, the same old slow temp iso style play. Oh, and one more, hero ball.

    • Alain Gervais

      Geez

    • Chopz

if it smells like Byron scott and sounds like Byron scott…

    • LinMad

Batum is a ball hog too who ignores Lin sometimes.

    • Dan Cohen

      he not old school.

    • Alain Gervais

In this style yes. Before they needed him to do this or its a blow out

    • GoodDayLA

i’m not so sure LinMad. I’m not so sure.

    • Dan Cohen

can be not just the coach.. it’s also behind the scene… problem is you don’t know who..
it’s like the pm is just the face of the project..but the one pulling strings is someone higher up.

    • Dan Cohen

he did.. he passed to lin.

    • GoodDayLA

sure but he is just a better player. No team will be perfect.

    • Dan Cohen

geez.. who is this brandon simmons guy.
      he is harsh.
is he a woh (walker only hater)

    • GoodDayLA

Nic Kemb and AL have a 3 man clique where they only pass to each other and sometimes to Marvin and almost never to Zeller.

    • Dan Cohen

I don’t understand.. why bashing on your own player..
it’s like houston bashing on lin.

    • JLin Fan from Australia

Yep Batum has turned around after the comment that he had teammates. I like his game with JLin now. They build the chemistry together. Somehow Kemba has lost all his “little” teamball mentality more and more each bench on 4th qtr. This game was the worst. Hopefully he won’t get even worse than this game. Unless coach is able to pull him back, otherwise, this is going to be a long long long year for us. Jealousy isn’t something easily to cope with.

    • your son’s voltaire

he’s better when he plays SF but he’s a liability when he plays as a primary facilitator at the SG

    • GoodDayLA

no Lin played SG not PG. That is the problem.

    • LinMad
    • Alain Gervais

Some people here seem to be tired of kemba. Look like they’ve seen this before

    • Dan Cohen

      who is brandon simmos???

    • Chopz

If that’s the case, he needs to spell the name correctly. “Zeke” from my beloved pistons, has his name spelled: Isiah. The other IT from the Celtics is spelled: Isaiah.

    • LinMad

Why can’t the GMs/coaches just view and treat Lin as a $20 mln a year player cause we all know Lin is underpaid. Just give Lin the minutes and the ball and the green light.

    • sws94

My friend who went with me took some pics. Lin taking foul shots.

    • Alain Gervais

Idk but he got 4,000 subscribers. Maybe a reporter. Says he got a masters degree

    • GoodDayLA

that again is on Clifford. the coaching so far has been very bad. But then most NBA coaches are bad. Few are good.

Pop would probably only play Lin 5 minutes as PG backup but he’d probably not play Lin at SG.

    • Dan Cohen

man, it’s a meltdown on kw..
that’s bad.. why bash on your own player
its like houston bashing on lin dude!!!

    • GoodDayLA

haha I don’t think so man.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Better game from Lin..Shot much better and crossed his ppg average…On the other hand, he had 10 at half time, so I expected a bit more..maybe 17 point.

His 3 point ball is simply not going down lately..If he can get that going, it would put a few extra point into his ppg average.

    • Rzo Vlade

horrible photography he seems an alien hes head and vision is sideways

    • your son’s voltaire

Lin never hogged the ball in Houston and single-handedly lose the game

    • sws94

Is my pic showing? I saw it briefly.

    • Alain Gervais

      nope

    • sws94

He was hitting them in practice shots. Don’t know what happened during the game, none of them fell.

    • Rzo Vlade

yeah your friend is a mutant hes head is sideways when taking pics

    • CJSHYY
    • JLin Fan from Australia

Please share with us what you have seen.

    • LinMad

im tired of you defending every Hornets player. We have to talk about the mistakes and what caused the loss. We can’t just ignore it. And we’re not just singling out Kemba. We did say Kemba and Batum.

    • leeda harun

Let him learned somethin that is you need everyone on the team to succeed….. not just stat padding…smh

    • CJSHYY

      No.

    • GoodDayLA

the analytics show Lin is high up. They usually use the eye test to talk Lin down.

    • Dan Cohen

but kw kept the hornets in….batum wasn’t doing much so he has no other option…and he was making them in.. but if he is missing.. we all can say his iso killed it.

if lin did that we will say ” yes.. he is scoring”.. there is no guarantee that if lin did what walker did.. the team will win either.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Kemba had a great game, so kuddos to him, but I also thought that Clifford should had let Lin run the team in the second half…

Did Kemba start the 3rd alongside lin or they he simply come in very early to run the second unit?….I thought Lin did very well in the 2rd quarter and the Hornet had a good and healthy lead at that time.

    • your son’s voltaire

and it’s not just us. the whole twitterverse is not happy with the way isoKemba is hogging the ball

    • GoodDayLA

we simply don’t know. If you are right, clifford is a really bad coach.

    • LinMad

its pretty sad when Lin is doing this with Lamb instead of a big. We need a big like Ed Davis but i’ll take whatever works. I hope this Jeremy to Jeremy becomes a thing every game.

    • LinMad

ya and …it’s only for this game. Kemba wasn’t shooting this heavily other games.

    • your son’s voltaire

the lost was solely on Kemba. he didn’t keep us in the game at all. if watching the game wasn’t telling enough, he played 38 minutes with just 1 assist and a +/- of -17 !

    • GoodDayLA

trade Kemba for Ed Davis and Steve freaking Blake & Allen Crabee. Will never happen but should. Portland got too man bigs and Charlotte too many guards

      CHO make it happen!

    • LinMad

well we don’t know if KW kept us in when we don’t even know what would happen if the ball was in other players hands. Maybe we could have won. Maybe we could have been leading by 20 pts.

    • ZcodeSportSystem.com

Kemba was very efficient tonight, so I don’t it’s the perfect time to gripe about him.

    • Alain Gervais

Lol if you shoot every shot you better keep the team close at least

    • your son’s voltaire

plus, Kemba hogged the ball from the very start of the game. Batum didn’t even have a chance

    • CJSHYY
    • sws94

Difference between Lin in 2 halves, Lin ran the show in the first half more. Played with Kemba more in the 2nd half. Kemba scores big but didn’t involve team mates. Batum had very off shooting game, off game in general. Lin had some TOs, but so did Kemba and Batum. Lin plays great D but really, he roams too much. If Lin stayed with his man, he wouldn’t have given up the 2 3 pointers he did. But he wasn’t the only one.

Interaction with everyone looked good. I was behind the Knicks bench and up, but had a great view of the game. All the interaction I could see from Clifford and Lin and Lin and the coaches and all the players looked positive.

I really didn’t see the MW foul. I saw it more on the replay and it looked bad. I just noticed a Knick player down and MW got ejected. Not usually the case MW loses control.

Knicks made more plays, hit more 3s. Anthony was pretty good but Porzinges looks really good. The real deal.

    • LinMad

yup, I would argue that Lin kept us in more than Kemba did. He finished the game with 3 assists and a +

    • Alain Gervais

It may be best Kemba plays off ball. Id rater Batum with the ball at this point

    • Dan Cohen

I’m not defending every hornet’s player.. batum is 0-5, zelloer got outplayed by porcingiz.. hawes..forget it..lin would’ve have 6 assists if it wasn’t for his 3 misses.

I’m just defending kemba because he was keeping hornets in the game. No one else was making the shots other than lin and even lamb despite his bonehead play. That’s why I can see clifford put those 3 in together.. the problem is that lin should be running the plays. But can’t just discredit kw when he kept the game in. IF lamb made the 3.. and hornets wins.. what would happen..

I know twitter is going off. I don’t know what they are bashing on kw..maybe they have seen it before? too much same? want a new look? I don’t know. But I haven’t been watch the hornets as long as they have… and it’s this brandon simmon guy being harsh.. who is he.

    • sws94

Lin on the screen at the foul line.

    • your son’s voltaire

not only that. after Lin and the 2nd unit regain the lead, Kemba comes in and they lost the lead once again. it’s so obvious

    • sws94

I reposted it. It is rotated for some reason.

    • Dan Cohen

can be because others are not getting the ball into the basket.. if batum did.. kw might not have.. you don’t know.. it’s all hindsight.

    • joyce ward

Go troll on the other site. All of Kemba;s iso play didn’t win the game, so you have a mute point(rolls eyes)

    • Dan Cohen

he passed lin the ball.. after he got his.

    • your son’s voltaire

      Lin “splitting hair” literally

    • CJSHYY

Did you see Rose & her kids w Lin before the game?

    • LinMad

once. that’s not enough. If Lin has to shoot everytime he gets a pass becuse he doesn’t get it often, something is wrong and his FG% will just go way down from it. That’s why when Lin passed it to Batum who also rarely touched it, he shot an airball.

Same with Lamb, he shot an airball. These shooters were not involved cause Kemba was isoing and it showed at the end when we got 2 airballs.

    • MoominFloren

haha I’m about to say this

    • your son’s voltaire

it’s not hindsight. the whole chat was saying all along how Kemba was destroying team chemistry and losing the game. if Kemba didn’t hog the ball all the time, it would have found the right person for much better shots

    • Alain Gervais
    • Chopz

      Yeah! Dunks all day.

    • Alain Gervais
    • LinMad

In the end, it’s Clifford’s fault for not stopping Kemba from shooting so much. It’s Cliff’s job to call time out and draw plays that involve other players. It’s CLiff’s job to tell Kemba to move the ball more.

We really shouldn’t blame Kemba. It’s the coach. He made it like this.

    • your son’s voltaire

i’m just gonna sit back and let Twitter-verse handle this lol

    • Acbc

Hope you had a good time.

    • LinMad

There’s a Mountain View in North Carolina too?

    • bolero

Trade street post said, he wrote and article when KW becomes hot, he gets tunnel vision, basically more iso play.

    • sws94

      Lin at the foul line.

    • KHuang

Lin roaming defensively is CLIFFORD’S CALL, not Lin’s.

    • leeda harun

part of it kw fault too…dont iso all the time

    • Dan Cohen

ok destroying chem, I might agree with you there because they haven’t play much together..esp with a 3 guard lineup..

hogging the ball might be because of lack of chemistry (it’s the same thing that I always want lin to do if he doesn’t have chem iwht the guys and no where to go, then shoot the d-mn.. some here even say that).

Also most other teammates are not shooting well.. only lin and lamb was getting it done.
Now if kw was missing a lot of it.. its most his fault.. but he at least kept hornets in the game..and his hoggin can be due to lack of chem. He is a scorer..not a play making.. if you going to blame, might have to blame clifford..but again politics.. kw is 12 mill, lamb 7 mil lin 2 mil..

    • KHuang

Linsanity 1st half when Lin was allowed to run the bench.

Freezesanity 2nd half with Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson and Nicholas Batum ballhogging.

    • Alain Gervais
    • NONONO

Yes!. Kemba is not going to change himself. It is coach’s job to make adjustment , to COACH!

    • Dan Cohen

i c.. thank you.. maybe that’s why.. he seen him like that all the time then.

    • Chopz

Steve Blake is on the Detroit Pistons now and I think they like him. But heck yeah, Lin to Davis all day would be nice.

    • heart

Kemba and Cliff are the two culprits for this loss. But Cliff is the one responsible in the end like you said.

    • LinMad

Yep like how he played Kemba 20-something minutes last Knicks game and allowed bench to finish the game.

    • sws94

Kemba can only play limited team ball. His habits are to dribble around and put up a lot of shots. when he gets in that mode, he doesn’t see anything around him. He is an impressive ball handler but that approach doesn’t involve the team and get the best shot

    • LinMad

how many inches is that TV?

    • Rick Johnson
    • sws94

That’s exactly what happened. Jefferson reverted to ball stopping. Batum was forcing, had a bad game.

    • NONONO

Maybe Cliff toke a lot of heat after last Knicks game – How dare you sit our starters?!!!!

    • Dan Cohen

if you are talking about ball hogging of those 3.. kw is the one.. but at least he scored and kept the game somewhat close.
because batum wasn’t getting it done….so he can’t ball hog
Al jefferson doesn’t seem to fit with the team much anymore.

    • KHuang

Kemba Walker had a “Chris Paul” game.

He had the hot hand, mainly because Jose Caleron (no D) was “guarding” him.

On the other hand, Walker was Chris Paul today in that Walker froze out his entire team, not just Lin. Walker, like Paul, got his stats but his team LOST.

    • sws94

I don’t know. It’s the overhead screen that is at all stadiums now it seems.

    • Alain Gervais

      Batum barely touched the ball

    • JW

Lin very serious again. Probably frustrated with the end not getting any touches.
I wanna hear what the coach will say.

    • KHuang

I understand why Walker hogs the ball.

If he doesn’t, LINSANITY will outplay him.

    • LinMad

actually, I think the media questioned Cliff many times about how the 2nd unit was so good and had to pick up the slack of the 1st unit. I think that struck a nerve in Cliff and he said something like No I think my starters are fine/better than the 2nd unit. I don’t know why people keep asking me that.

    • Dan Cohen

right.. that’s why I say *after* he got his.

    • KHuang

1-9 is at least 8 touches too many!

    • LinMad

Lin post game interview on Hornets brb gonna watch it.

    • Dan Cohen

problem is cliff is giving the pieces to play with.. it’s cho and mj’s call.

    • KHuang

If the starters actually ran Clifford’s motion offense, they’d get their stats much easier!

    • Dan Cohen

I was thinking zeller or hawes..but dude both have butterfingers.

    • NONONO

People asked him because everyone is seeing it. But, with pending contract , he dares to say the truth.

    • sws94

He would be fine in spots. He just got defended better and then didn’t pass out. He got tunnel vision and then got mad when a foul wasn’t called and then kind of stopped playing.

    • Alain Gervais

If lin shot bad he would still shoot it.

    • joyce ward

I think just hates selfish basketball when a game could have easily been won by teamball.

    • LinMad

in post game interview Lin said he thought he did an okay job in following the game plan. I don’t know if that has a subliminal message to it. Like the game plan sucked and coach should have allowed him to be PG.

    • LinMad

      agreed

    • Correct. If Coach preaches BallMovement, then he should enforce it & give consequences when it doesn’t happen.
Can’t have the leader to play street-ball and expect other players to not follow.

Let’s see how he’s going to fix this issue. They will not make playoff if this keeps happening

    • golfhacker

He should have said, “Game plan, what game plan?”

    • blubell
    • blubell
    • sws94

Cliff should trust his 2nd unit guys more, particularly Lin and Lamb. Kaminsky passes up too many open shots and Hawes is as clunky KHuang has been saying he is although he did manage to score around 14 tonight. Kemba just changes the dynamic and flow too much and he’s not needed to play the minutes he’s playing.

    • leeda harun

a message to his coach that the starters didnt follow the game plan because they want to stat padding

    • Dan Cohen

speaking of lamb.. that kid can really shoot.

    • LinMad

Ya I hope the iso isn’t contagious. I mean Batum kind of iso’d it last game too and maybe Kemba is doing just cause Batum got to do it. So…I think coach intervenes before this gets out of control.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

Freezesanity started in 2nd Q when they checked in, lead down to 2 at the half.

    • sws94

He was great, absolutely in charge on the court. He was strategic and just played wonderfully. He made some errors in the 2nd half but he should have ran the show more. Kemba didn’t promote finding the open guys and guys just sort of looked at him dribble and shoot.

    • sws94

Lamb looked good. Defensively he’s not as good as he is offensively.

    • LinMad

I think the PnR with Lin/Al can work a few times a night. That’s something Cliff might want to think about. Lin/Lamb with 1 alley oop a night too. Since Hawes sucks.

    • CJSHYY

I think so. Kemba ISO all game. smh!

    • heart

Just watched Lin’s post game interview, basically, Lin said he’s done all he could following Cliff’s game plan (letting KW isos– my word). And we all saw Cliff’s result. It’s beyond his control.

    • Alain Gervais

It kinda looked like the knicks left him open on purpose

    • NONONO

Post game interview – Reporter asked KW, “What changes in 3q made Hornets from 5 pts lead to 10 pts lose”. KW answered, ” ……………………” Sorry, i think everyone can answer it. Putting starters back and play KW as PG for almost entire 2nd half mess up everything. Did Lin get 1/2 in 14 mins?

    • joyce ward

I don’t think Clifford has a problem trusting his 2nd unit, but it is the politics behind the scenes . I personally think Clifford prefers the 2nd unit. Lin is clearly that leader in that unit and they play better teamball. I think the 2nd unit is what clifford sees as unit that will win a lot of games as they gel more.

    • grover chang

On my way home the NY Knick pre game show on NBA radio said the Charlotte bench was the story for the Hornets. Seems like the rest of the NBA has taken notice of the bench, especially they pointed to Lamb and Lin.

    • CJSHYY

As I thought, Cliff is the problem. smh! He & Kemba are on the same boat.

    • So it’s recurring problem with Kemba Tunnel Vision

      https://twitter.com/BaselineBuzz/status/666807722394914817

    • wandertheglobe

Watching GSW plays is like watching NBA2K

    • leeda harun

but clifford didnt do anything about this problem…smh

    • Alain Gervais

Toronto playing iso ball. GSW will eat them alive. GSW verses our starter would be ugly

    • grover chang

I heard the crowd chanting MVP when Porzinges was at the line. Did I hear right? Seems like Porzinges maybe the new King of the Castle. Will Melo stand for that? Does he have the same leverage to eject him the way he ejected Lin? I don’t think so. The dynamic between Porzinges and Melo will be interesting. Seems like Phil Jackson got lucky.

    • KHuang

GSW vs Lin’s bench would likely be EQUAL.

    • Sundown

My interpretation was that was modesty, “okay” when he actually felt he did well.

And he was talking about the defensive game plan. Why try to create drama between Lin and Kemba where there is none?

    • sws94

Hawes doesn’t make it. Even with his scoring today, if they replaced him with a decent big man the unit would be much better. Lamb is a keeper.

      Lamb gold
      Lin silver
      Hawes bronze

can’t get myself to give Kemba any hammer for ball hoggery, 1 assist, -17 +/-

    • KHuang

Yes – but that will change too.

Lamb is an aggressive and active defender who’s still inexperienced.

As time goes on, Lamb will eventually learn to play ELITE defense.

    • joyce ward

      Yeah how about Ed Davis

    • KHuang

Unlike Batum, Lin can MAKE shots!

    • grover chang

Needs Doc to meet up for a tune up. Learning a new technique is not easy. Needs his coach to review his shot again. Even Dirk will fly his coach from Germany during the season if he needs to get his shot together.

    • Guest

      Because of GM Cho?

    • Alain Gervais

Lin and Lamb should start. What would it look like if they started. We probably will never see it

    • David Kim

Interaction between Lin and Kemba was really good. They talked a lot each other. Interaction between lamb and Lin was good too.

    • sws94

He did well the first half and at least tried to make some plays while on the court with Kemba. I liked his approach this game. If some of his outside shots fell, he’d have a very good game. It’s a good game today but he wasn’t 4th quarter JLin today.

    • Hornets fan said it’s a combination of Clifford, Cho, Jordan

      Which is probably true

    • Chopz

Lin said Charlotte feels like Palo Alto. So we have a Mountain View and a Palo Alto in North Carolina. Sounds like Silicon Valley to me.

    • KHuang

C’mon, there’s TONS of drama between Lin and Walker.

Before the season began, I wrote that Walker and Lin could get along as friends but not play well together or even mesh as teammates.

Walker is getting his butt KICKED by Lin in most games, and the internal friction is blowing the team apart.

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Not if Hawes is in.

    • Alain Gervais

Its not that we think they dislike each other. Its play style. Kemba is not much of a PG. HE is also ISO heavy

    • sws94

The best PnR man for Lin. I love Ed Davis, his biggest weaknesses were foul trouble and foul shooting.

    • CJSHYY

I agree. That will be more fun to watch like vs NYK game 1.

    • David Kim

yup kemba did lots of iso today…

    • sws94

He’s got the length and footing.

    • KHuang

Even with Hawes in, Lin’s finally figured out how to play past him.

Besides, Golden State’s 5 man units don’t have dominant opposing big men that would wreck Hawes.

    • Alain Gervais

Most if not all of his shots come from iso

    • grover chang

Is he hogging the ball because there is no chemistry or is there no chemistry because he is a pg that hogs the ball? The old chicken and the egg argument. What comes first?

    • Dan Cohen

      hawes bronze?????

    • KHuang

But Lin and Kemba DID NOT PRODUCE while Lin and Lamb without Walker DID.

    • sws94

Lin? No. He was mostly covered. They’d rather him shoot jump shots than penetrate but he penetrated anyway.

    • KHuang

It would still be a DISGUSTING MESS because Al Jefferson and Nic Batum would do their 80s standstill thing and clog up the offense.

    • Alain Gervais

Cliff has to see Watch the stats cant hide. Kemba and the starters are a glaring flaw. Kemba is not a PG

    • takemeback2reaganyears

      Their bigs are also mobility.

    • Dan Cohen

      what internal friction.

    • KHuang

Should’ve been Lin Gold, Lamb Silver, Hawes bronze.

No Walker. He was the prime reason why the starters were negative all night.

    • sws94

Leadership is being moved to Batum.

    • Sundown

Outside of what you wrote months ago which, reading your posts on the boards is apparently 100% omniscient and infallible, give me any evidence of friction between the two.

Blowing the team apart? Even by your standards of hyperbole that’s excessive.

    • Alain Gervais

Batum,Lamb ,and Lin already played well the first Knicks game. Datum don’t hog the ball nearly as much as Kemba. He also picks his shots way better then Kemba. Al would be the main issue

    • Lx

Lin is Diamond and Kemba this game is rotten wood.
